Speaker 1 (00:02):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
This is Girls Talk Boys Talk, presented by Invisi Line,
trusted by over five hundred NFL players for their winning smiles,
and broadcasting live from Dallas Cowboys World headquarters at the Star.
Now your host, Nicole Hutchison.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
All right, welcome in a Girls Talk Boys Talk presented
by invisil Line in e SWBC studio. I'm Nicole Hutcherson
alongside Brionna Aldridge and I use Morrison.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Ladies.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
We got a lot a lot to talk about, but first.
Speaker 5 (00:43):
I got ask how y'all doing? Y'all good?
Speaker 6 (00:45):
Yeah, wonderful.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
Yeah, I liked.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
It this morning.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
Are all good? We're awesome. If we just go up
a couple of active baby shields for great, I.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Don't think the octice is going to help. Let's try
again last time. How y'all doing this morning?
Speaker 4 (01:05):
We're great? Nicole? Still good? Like sound, still the same sound?
Speaker 5 (01:12):
It's fine? Okod s all right?
Speaker 6 (01:15):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:15):
You know, like as mentioned a lot of roster changes,
of course, as mentioned yesterday, but I do want to
make sure we touch on a little bit of you know,
the visual last night.
Speaker 5 (01:24):
Got to attend that and.
Speaker 6 (01:26):
It was beautiful.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
I want to shout out the front office and the
coaching staff, the entire team that put that together. You know,
they had his agent speak, a couple of his friends,
his uncle speak as well. Shody spoke got emotional talking
about Marshawn and what he meant to him as not
even just a football player, but as a pretty much
(01:46):
like a son to him, and so Jerry Jones also
got emotional as well. Uh when we also got to
light the you know candle light afterwards and walk outwards
and you know, make sure your light didn't go out.
Speaker 6 (02:00):
It was beautiful.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
They had a nice video tribute as well to Marshawn Neeland.
So I do want to make sure that you know,
Cowboys Nation who all are watching, that you know that
this team is not going to stop honoring that name,
Marshaan Neeland, and he will be a Dallas Cowboy forever.
So yeah, I wanted to make sure I mentioned that.
But onto Football News we got Demarvin Overshown and Savone
(02:23):
Revel who.
Speaker 5 (02:24):
Will now be activated. It's official.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Yanye Thomas moved to IR. Sounds like that. My grain
was a lot more serious than a lot of people think.
And so yeah, he's got to be out for a
minimum of four games, and big loss there the safety room,
considering they've already been battling a lot, a lot, a
lot of injuries at that position. But I do want
(02:49):
to make sure we touch on Demo and Savone, guys
who we.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
Have not seen.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Well, Demo, of course last year we did, but this
year I have not seen, and he's been grinding, you know,
to make sure he came back this season. A lot
of people thought let's just go ahead and count this
season out.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
No, no, he don't.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
Play like that.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
So talking about a guy like that, you know, getting
him back and also finally getting a chance to see
Savone rebel, what does that do for this defense?
Speaker 5 (03:15):
Ladies?
Speaker 6 (03:16):
I feel like we've talked about it like for a while,
especially when we're talking about if this team was gonna
make any moves. And part of the reasons why we
thought know is because Jerry Steven. They've been really adamant
about those two guys in particular coming back and saying,
you know, we know this defense isn' where it's supposed
to be, but hey, we got some people coming those
people were the people you just mentioned. I think the
(03:37):
Marvion Overshown is I would say the most excited, just
because Cowboys Nation has seen what he's been able to
do when he is on that field last year. His
flash is just coming down. He just comes out of nowhere.
He plays with fire, he's he's so fast, and I
don't know if that's gonna happen right away. I don't
even know if he starts. I know he'll be on
(03:59):
the field, we know that, but I don't know if
he starts. So there's a lot of questions with that,
I think going into Monday night. But he only helps
this group. I will say that we've been talking about
what's been missing there. Again, Logan Wilson expected to go
out there. I do believe Logan Wilson will be a starter.
I know it's been like a quick turn for him
to learn this playbook and things, but I do expect that.
(04:21):
But it excited and also curious to see how much
action those two guys gets. I think Scheavone revel that's
a little bit different, right. I think people have high
expectations again, just because of what that room looks like
or has looked like very inconsistent deron Bland coming off
probably his worst game of the season. We saw so
(04:42):
interested to see if he's in the slot, who they
go outside, because I know I each will get into it.
But they got a big tight end that we got
to worry about come Monday.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
So what you got, No, I agree.
Speaker 7 (04:53):
I'm excited to see demaro o words on just such
a He's such a unique ca because whereas you want
to sit here, ladies and be like, we gotta slow
play him, we don't expect for him to look the
same right away we want to.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
It's hard.
Speaker 7 (05:10):
It's hard for me to put myself in that mindset
because of his work ethic and.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
Also too, There's just some guys you meet that you just.
Speaker 7 (05:18):
Feel like are special, and I just feel like he's
one of those special guys. And even you know, as
he gets kind of integrated into the defense, his energy,
his drive, his motor is something that I think can
push guys on that second level. I will commit the
Cowboys for you know, going out and get Logan Wilson
as well. I think he is gonna help stabilize this,
(05:40):
stabilize this room. We talked about it last week and stinctrally,
he's one of the best linebackers. You might be the
best linebacker you have right now.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
We talked about.
Speaker 7 (05:49):
Who's gonna who's gonna kick off of that second level.
But I am excited about the linebacker corps moving forward.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
And if they're able to take a step forward, especially.
Speaker 7 (05:59):
With maybe the def and some line play getting a
little better on the interior. So as far as savon Ravel,
I am very excited about him because we ain't seen nada,
We haven't seen anything. And it was crazy because when
you got the training camp, there were so many mixed
reports on is he gonna be in camp, is he
gonna play, is he not gonna play? And then you know,
(06:21):
unexpectedly that didn't happen. And so, I mean, his father
has been very vocal about the fact that he's ready
to see his kiddo play. And this let's not forget like, yes,
this gentleman's coming off in Aco.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
But this was one of the best cornerbacks in this draft.
Speaker 7 (06:35):
Small school guy, can play really good in the press,
not afraid to be physical. We'll see if that is
what we end up saying about him towards the end
of the year. But yeah, I think he helps, this
helps the depth in this secondary kind of come together.
And then also too, again I'm gonna mention Kaylen Carson
Man being in that mix as well. Can this youth
(06:57):
kind of you know, kind of spring for this Dallas
defense on the back end, I guess we'll see.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Yeh Sol third round pick, but was projected to be
a first round pick, yes, even despite before he towards
Aco after three games of the season, So that's actually
pretty impressive considering.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
But no, talking about both.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Of those rooms now, do y'all feel a little bit
more confidence in the secondary or the linebacker room?
Speaker 5 (07:24):
Which one? With those guys coming back.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
I think the secondary is going to be the most
suspect because it has been all season regardless. I know
there's a lot of hype which show on Revel, but again,
we haven't coming to the NFL, regardless of what they
did in college. I think for that position, there's not
a lot of guys who come in and immediately make
an impact, especially coming off the type of injury he has,
So I think not saying that he won't come out
(07:49):
in show out, but I think it is going to
take some time. We do have to be a little
bit more realistic with that, unlike a overshown who we know,
we've seen at this level what he can be with
this team. Right, there's nothing new here. It's just a
matter of fact how he's feeling, how winded he's going
to be after a certain amount of you know, snaps,
because that is a different type. We talk about that
(08:10):
all the time about a guy even just sitting out
when Michael Parkinson was here, We're talking about even him
not yet acclimated. Right, So I think those are the
questions there. But definitely still the secondary scares me the
most out of everybody.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Yeah, I expect.
Speaker 7 (08:29):
I just think the linebacker if the defensive football is
a machine, so hopefully if the front seven plays better,
then the secondary will play better. But I do think
from the linebacker position, the Logan Wilson makes it better.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
I really do.
Speaker 7 (08:45):
And looking at some of his tape from last year,
just some of the certainty he plays with.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Are you ladies that are all worried about Quinnen.
Speaker 7 (08:53):
And Logan adjusting to the scheme or you think these
guys are plug and play are gonna be able to
pick up this them really quickly?
Speaker 5 (09:01):
That's actually something I think shoddy if I believe it
was Shoddy that said it that he.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Wasn't worried about Quinn because he's played in a system
like this before, so I thought he wasn't really so
worried about Quinn. Plus those guys I know Quinn also
said when we heard from him, uh, the day after
he came in, he had said, Hey, I'm getting to
work right now. So I know he had his whole
plan for last week of the workout that he was
going to go through and things like that, getting the
(09:28):
playbook because he of course had the bye week before
coming from New York.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
So those guys I think I actually.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Saw Logan Wilson yesterday working with Marquis Bell outside. So
those I mean, those guys, I don't feel their vets
wouldn't say vets, but their they their experience. Yeah, so
I think they know what to do in terms of
making sure they're prepared because they know what's his stake.
They know they're coming into a defense that needs.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
A lot of a lot of help.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
Not to be funny, but this the team, the guys
who've been here since box Snard, they're still trying to
figure out that.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
I think he was trying to be funny. I'm not.
Speaker 6 (10:04):
They talk about it every week. You're sick, no, Like
I mean, so that's why I'm like, not really worried
about that aspect of it. But to your point, going
back to Kaylin Clarson, do you guys feel I mean,
that was the first time we saw him out there, right,
we were wondering, like, when is he ever going to go?
I think twenty eight snap is what he got. But
he wasn't targeted. So that's also a thing.
Speaker 7 (10:24):
Too, which is, yeah, it's kind of hard to gauge,
but also too when you look at him on film,
he's he's present with the receiver. You could see he's
seeing stuff correctly. But I understand, like the lack of.
Speaker 6 (10:36):
Target you feel like they'll give him a shot to
start out there and move drawn black moving where back
in the sud I mean, I think that gives you
the best shot. I think just say I personally, and
I've been saying this, I think Darron Bland is a
better nickel corner instead of a boundary corner.
Speaker 7 (10:58):
So maybe there is some than they decide to do
based off of what they see. Looks wise and practice
and stuff like that.
Speaker 6 (11:04):
Any word on seven please m no anywhere, No, because
it would be nice to have him out there too.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
He was outside how many games he has learning out though?
Speaker 6 (11:19):
Mm hmm two Yeah, it's gonna be Yeah, I just
wanted him if there was any progress or too.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Yeah, Okay, we saw.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Him outside practice one of those. I think it was
like two and a half. Wen he's been around, But
in terms of.
Speaker 6 (11:36):
A hooker, that's we should we could possibly see him
if I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
That's and that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (11:42):
Like this whole secondary sounds like you might be getting
some guys back, So how you know with communication and
all that stuff, Like, how's that gonna be? Hopefully these
guys are able to because like you said, every day man,
because you since training again very suspicious.
Speaker 6 (11:58):
All I know is the Raiders, not the Raiders who
have had under multiple games under ten points. They've better
not come out here and be explosive. That's time.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
So I'm saying not doing that Thomas for positive, not
really positive because you're also not positive. Sorry wwaya Thomas,
but not just defensively, you're missing a guy on special
teams who's been elite. Just how much will you be
missing a guy like that in both the secondary and
also special teams.
Speaker 7 (12:29):
Special teams don't get enough love. They don't like, they
don't get enough love and attention for what it is.
You know, how they set up the offense or how
they set up the opposing team's defense to have to
you know, go down and score and.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
So we'll get stopped.
Speaker 7 (12:43):
So I think the Cowboys special teams unit's kind of
been middle of the pack this year if I'm not mistaken,
And I mean punk coverage has been at times and
is a big part of that. Mayor's Lee foul is
a big part of that. And one thing I will
say about Marius is they even know he is not
getting the time at the linebacker spot on special teams.
(13:05):
Him coming downhill has definitely made a difference on Punk covered. So, yeah,
you're gonna miss a Janie Thomas there as well, but
kind I gotta keep going at this point.
Speaker 6 (13:17):
Yeah, yeah, And he has missed games this season, and
I feel like they were able to pull and plug
in Finesse if you will in that spot.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Bunnia Well, happy to get demo and someone rebel back.
Prayers up for Janya Thomas, hopefully that he will be
back soon or towards the end of the season and
get healthy. But we've got to talk cowboys, raiders, sick
with with young girls boys bringing all down up next.

Speaker 5 (16:14):
I want to do a wake up so bad. I
feel like it's been a minute. I know it's very
hard to hurt.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
It is waked all whisper one.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
That's kind of cute.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
They didn't hit the same like she wants to yell
so bad. Guys, there it is.
Speaker 5 (16:32):
I signed didn't feel right though, just this beard.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
I know. Sorry, I feel like I needed to bring
some in wa. There you go go, Chris, you appreciate
it all right? Raiders Cowboys, Uh, what stands out? I'm
gonna just throw to you, Aisha we Got's insights. What
stands out to you about the way that they deploy
Max Crosby arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Wait, wait, wait, what's up?
Speaker 6 (16:55):
Say?
Speaker 5 (16:55):
Cowboys Raiders?
Speaker 6 (16:56):
Defense, Raiders offense.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
It's cow Boys.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
It's the other way.
Speaker 7 (17:03):
But defense, No, that's that's but but but but to
answer your question, because I because I'm because I'm gonna
take the oop saying to answer your question, look at this,
this little rundown, but it's okay, yeah, answer the question.
Max Crosby really is the saving grace of that defensive
(17:25):
line over there. And again, it's very similar to how
you look at the Michael Parsons when Michael was here.
Is that he draws a lot of attention, so you
would think that other guys would kind of come on
with it, but that hasn't happened. He's kind of He's
literally winning on his own almost all the time. Obviously
one of the more talented past rushers in the game.
(17:45):
As far as how that deploy him, he predominantly plays
on the right side, but there will be times where
if they see a matchup, they'll move him to the
other side. You won't see him do that much in
the interior. Uh, they try to do some stuns sometimes,
but the rest of the defensive line don't be stunting
and he be doing the stunt scrimming. But as far
as it's how they deploy him, I mean, he's again,
(18:07):
he's someone you have to account for. He's someone that
you're tired, is gonna have to chip. Your running backs
are gonna have to chip. They're gonna because even because
of Max Crawby Crosby's background, you talk to him like
he this is a person that is another advocate for
mental health, another advocate for.
Speaker 6 (18:23):
Substance abuse and things like that. He has a crazy.
Speaker 7 (18:26):
Motor and is very very very like vigilant in his
pursuits to the ball.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
So that's something that's gonna have to worry about.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
But yeah, we're gonna try that again because you know,
it's fine. It's a lot going on today this week
days mixed up.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
It's okay, appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
Back to traight to it.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
But it's alright, it's just you know, it's fine, go ahead,
back to the other side of the ball.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
You should what you got.
Speaker 6 (18:47):
Yeah, uh, well this uh, they got a lot going
on over there. It's some coaches this, uh the seat
is luke warm.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
It's very hot. Yeah, well no, no, yeah, yeah, it's
very high.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
I say, if you have to describe it in one word,
what would you just call.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
It with what's going on over there? Dysfunctional?
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Okay, if you have to describe it compared to.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
What's going on over here, yeah, offensively mm hmm.
Speaker 7 (19:15):
It ain't comparable, Okay, because I don't think it's comparable.
Because I do believe from listening to some of the
Raiders folks, is that they really expected for Pete Carroll
to come in here with his tenure, his background, obviously,
what he and Gino were able to do in Seattle,
you know, this last couple of years, they thought that
was gonna translate. No translate, no translate, because the difference
(19:38):
between them and the Seattle Seahawks is that the Seahawks,
they offensive line used to be tinker toys for a
while and they decided that they were gonna shure that up.
Speaker 6 (19:47):
The Raiders.
Speaker 7 (19:49):
This offensive line has struggled, and it really comes from
again a lot of the injuries. Obviously, they have tried
to address it in the draft. Jackson Power Shahnson, which
was better, one of the better.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
Guards out of that class. Flash tackle Depen.
Speaker 7 (20:03):
No, how you feel it, he just got placed on
ir you're looking at We're gonna keep an eye on
it this week. I said yesterday, is that we're looking
at left guard Dylan Parhum. We don't know if he
was dealing with the ankle last week. Is he gonna
be out there to play? Their center Meredith has been there.
I mean, y'all, they had some expectations for this offensive
line coming into the season. Colton Miller was their starting
(20:26):
left tackle, one of the best left tackles, one of
the better left tackles.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Rather in the league.
Speaker 7 (20:30):
He's out for multiple weeks with an ankle injury. And
they've just gotten decimated with injuries, y'all like, and so
with that, they're gonna have a lot of young guys
and some older veterans coming out to play.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
I expect for either. I expect for either.
Speaker 5 (20:47):
Grant.
Speaker 7 (20:48):
Let me see, I want to make sure that I
say his first name right, because I ain't trying to
upset nobody. Charles Grant to get the start at left tackle,
or it's gonna be Forsyth. Now, Forsyth struggled a little
bit last week kind of getting certain into the offense,
and again at the left guard spot, we still don't
know who was gonna end up men in that spot
there for them again. Meredith is one of the only
(21:11):
constants of this offensive line that started there at the
beginning of the year at center, and he's had his
fair fair share struggles obviously having to deal with guys
in and out and there being a lot of changes.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Now if I'm Dallas.
Speaker 7 (21:25):
Because we're starting with the offensive line, I go at
their right guard in that center and like that whole
center to right tackle over. DJ Glaze has had a
heck of a time. He really struggled last week with
the Denver Broncos. Gino Smith was sacked seven times last
week was the sixth of the carry carry the two. Yes,
(21:48):
you know Smith was sacked six times last week. And
this offensive line is a big reason why their offense
has not been able to get going because when you
start getting to the points per game of their twenty
ninth in the league, they only scoring about sixteen points
a game. Total offensive yards a game they're twenty eighth,
they're only getting about three hundred yards and in the
(22:09):
passing game, which is huge. They are only averaging a
little over two hundred yards a game, and a lot
of that has to do with this offensive line struggling
to pass block and this offensive line struggling to run block,
because then when you get to the running back, you're like, well,
Ashing Genty. We talked about him heavily here in Cowboys Land,
somebody that people were praying fell to the Cowboys. He
(22:32):
hasn't even had the opportunity to kind of spread his
wings in this offense because of this offensive line to start.
So really, I say it all the time, it starts
up front Dallas with a Kenny Clark, with the Quinton Williams.
I think this could be a great coming out party
for Quinton Williams with the interior struggles that they're having
(22:52):
on this defensive line. Gino Smith is a quarterback that
doesn't like a lot of pressure coming up the middle,
so he is going.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
To try to ask how do your edges play? How
do they play?
Speaker 7 (23:02):
Moving into this game, I feel like this is an
opportunity for this Dallas defensive line, with the edges that
are in place, Clowney is Iraku in this interior to
really get after it with this with this Raiders offensive
line being so banged up.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Yea, I was gonna ask you, how, what's the best
way of your eberflus to schema pressure since there's so
many opportunities across that offensive line.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
Honestly, I would let these guys.
Speaker 7 (23:25):
I mean, we talked about some five down situations and
stuff like that, but I would just you might be
able to get there Russian four. We might be able
to get there. You might be able to get there
Russian for if you decide to blitz on. Well, but
this isn't a team at this point. That not saying
that younal spills can't deliver the ball downfield. That's just
not something you're seeing, like their ride receivers is out
(23:46):
there doing cardio.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Yeah, what do you want me to say?
Speaker 5 (23:51):
I think.
Speaker 7 (23:53):
I and also too, when you look at the time
of possession, they are also almost bottom of league and
kind of possession, so that lets me know you can't
sustain drives.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
You can't sustain drives. Although on third down they're like
eleventh in the league, thirteenth in the league, fifteenth, I'm like, well, listen,
he's that folks. You get y'all love to.
Speaker 7 (24:14):
Yeah, it's it ranges from thirteenth to fifteenth.
Speaker 6 (24:18):
Let's say it like that.
Speaker 7 (24:19):
They're about forty two percent forty one percent on third down,
so it's just confusing the red zone efficiency. They're twenty
eighth in the league, twenty ninth in yours per game.
This offense has really struggled, and let me tell you,
it sounds like there's a lot of players on this.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
Offensive side of the ball that's not feeling Chip Kelly.
Speaker 7 (24:37):
And with him being the highest paid OC in the NFL,
they expected more from what this offense has been.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Able to put out so far.
Speaker 6 (24:47):
So yeah, it really to me starts with the offensive line,
which you ladies got.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
It's crazy.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
Chip Kelly is.
Speaker 6 (24:53):
Definitely in the hot seat for what you just said,
being the highest paid OC and getting the results he game.
Someone who's praised and the college level was able to
take Ohio to highest lengths and then come here expectations high.
Pete Carroll another one, expectations high. So unfortunately, in this business,
when they already fired their special teams coordinator, in this business,
(25:16):
when things aren't going right, someone's got to go. So
I do expect chip Kelly coming in there like his
job is on the line. That part scares me just
a little bit because I feel like we're going to
possibly see something we haven't seen before because again in
the hot seat, but what they've been doing is it's
like last game, gent gets hot for a second and
(25:40):
then they just go away for him for two consecutive drives.
It just does not make sense. So I understand the
frustration on their side. I've heard things about them being
pretty predictable, especially when we're talking about getting the red zone.
Why they're not converting. The numbers are crazy when you
look at three and out, they're like one of the
top teams. Yeah, just like, yeah, it's again ugly over there,
(26:02):
and they do have some rookies that have shown they
can do good things, but they just go away from it.
And at this point, if things are this ugly, as
I used to just point out on multiple levels, like,
it's like why are you not trying it or why
you're not sticking to it? And they don't commit to
the run game, so they do become predictable, and that
(26:23):
passing game is not something you can lean on. So again,
I think this is to your other point I used
to I think this is a perfect game for the
Cowboys defense to eat and really show what they can do.
Mix up some things, some different packages, and try Javon
and Revel a couple. This is where it comes from.
Somebody mentioned this to me the other day about Clowney.
(26:46):
We talked about Clowney coming in having his best game.
They also were very slow about the reps he was getting,
and we know he was off for quite amount of
time for football. Yes, but you can't expect a guy
to come in make an impact if you're not giving
him the reps on the field. It's not the same
as much as they preach how fast and things they
go out practice. That's great, but you're not going hard
(27:08):
at practice against on the other side. One you don't
want to hurt your teammate, and two it's different in
live game action. So I think this defense can really
take advantage of the struggles going on on the other
side of the ball, especially especially the offensive line. You
give up six sacks, you're not winning a football game
(27:29):
like That's just the fact. And I think that comes
to Geno Smith another reason why you're seeing the drop off.
There's no trust. Trust. Nobody talk about it.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
I'm on the ground half the game talk about it.
Speaker 7 (27:39):
I mean, and that's what he's seeing. Yeah, and that's
why he has that's why he's one of the lead
leaders and interceptions in twelve. I mean, he's not dealing
with it is kind of wild, especially with just a
living to now. But no, he's not seeing the field.
I watched him last night and you can tail the
clock sped up. You can tell that his feet aren't set.
(28:00):
He's not comfortable. And again with all the changes on
the offensive line, that's something that plays into it as well.
But I you know, Las Vegas, I'm really curious of now,
why in the world would you draft an Ash and
Genty in a Chip Kelly's system. We know that Chip
(28:20):
like to pass that dang ball.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
We know that Chip.
Speaker 7 (28:23):
Loves a more of a spread offense, like that's just
how he is always run offense. So just even at that,
it sounds like from what we're talking about, ye, do
you get this, You get this running back, you expecting
to run the ball.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
You don't commit to.
Speaker 5 (28:37):
The run.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
The OC commitment issues. This ain't something that he even
knows to do. I don't understand.
Speaker 7 (28:45):
And that's what the frustration is within Raider Nation right now.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
They like, what in the world were you doing when.
Speaker 6 (28:51):
You put this coaching staff together, specifically on this offensive
side of the ball, because there's so many different philosophies
and you see that on the field.
Speaker 4 (28:58):
You see them come out.
Speaker 7 (29:00):
Maybe in the first quarter, they'll play well, they'll have
it's competitive, but there's no counter. Yeah, and then you know,
I'm sure there's no counter because there's a lot of
button of heads and Bree, you mentioned.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
Some of the weapons that they have on the outside. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (29:14):
I mean you have a guy like a brock Bauers
who people were ticked last week didn't get involved as
much as they wanted him to. I mean, this is
one of the more impressive hybrid type Titans.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
In the league.
Speaker 7 (29:26):
And what he's able to do in the open field
also too, Tyler Lockett coming in working the slot. I
wonder if we see him get a little bit more
involved this week. He's always been I know that he
was dealing with some injuries and things like that left Seattle.
He's been there for the majority of his career. He
hasn't really been productive in this offense either.
Speaker 6 (29:47):
And then let's not forget they traded away Jakobe Myers,
one of your.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
Best offensive pieces.
Speaker 7 (29:54):
You're just like, you know what, we don't need him,
and so now you know you don't really have a
besides Bowers who is It's odd to think of a.
Speaker 6 (30:04):
Tight end being your number one. That's kind of where
they are right now.
Speaker 7 (30:09):
And then Thornton Jr. Dante Thornton Junior. He's struggling, to
your point, breed that trust. He's dealing with drops, he's
dealing with confidence, he's dealing with issues. So this offense
is coming into this game trying to Again, we're going
up against another team that's trying to find a stride,
trying to figure some things out. Bring made a fantastic
(30:30):
point about Chip Kelly kind of coaching.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
For his job.
Speaker 7 (30:33):
Now I think that that's a watch, but coaching for
his job and coaching for.
Speaker 4 (30:36):
Maybe for other jobs later in the future.
Speaker 7 (30:39):
And this Dallas defense is gonna have to be prepared
for that. But I will say Dallas getting better on
the interior of this defensive line I think is huge.
I think it's gonna play pay dividends in this game.
And again even with the secondary, with a team that
is not throwing the ball down field as often, I
wonder if this is something. If that's something that maybe
(31:00):
they start, they decide to do a little bit more
in this game because maybe they think that they can
pass the ball on Dallas because they might, Yeah, they might.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
I think she's.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Going it.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
Now.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
I think it's safe to say that this is another
team that this Dallas defense don't try to get too cute,
like just just it's about them pretty much. And but
we've said this before, and teams have found weaknesses taken
advantage of weaknesses of the Dallas defense. What aside from
(31:34):
getting pressure on Geno Smith, what else will be key
for this Dallas defense to just get the job done.
Speaker 6 (31:41):
Get off the field on third down, my lord, to.
Speaker 7 (31:47):
Get off the field on third down. This is a
team that is Yeah, y'all look confused.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
What what did? What did?
Speaker 5 (31:54):
Can he say?
Speaker 8 (31:55):
He was.
Speaker 6 (31:57):
Last after last loss against the Cardinals. He was like,
you know, you always try to get like the positive
of the locker room, and it wasn't. It's funny now,
but I was like, wait what and it makes sense,
but it's like, dude, like it's like so much part
of the game. When he was like, you know, we
do really good on first and second down, but third
down you know, we giving up long plays. And I'm like,
(32:20):
you know, it's so interesting because it's like they are
y'all panicking what's going on on these third down calls
because they have been pretty good on first and second down.
And but another thing too is penalties.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
A lot of these first downs that you are giving
other teams is penalties.
Speaker 7 (32:40):
And again, this is a team that's looking for confidence.
It's a quarterback that's looking for confidence. This is an
OC that's looking for confidence. Don't give it to them,
hurt they feelings.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
I mean, just this.
Speaker 6 (32:50):
Has to get done. I don't care how it looks,
because if this game goes the other way breaking listening
to watch and Brian Browders talk about the draft, and
I'm gonna be real into it because that's gonna be
the reality.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
Imagine having to be a person that has to to.
Speaker 5 (33:06):
Do the draft.
Speaker 4 (33:07):
I don't want to.
Speaker 7 (33:08):
I'm already kind of starting to dip my toe in
the water, but I don't want to.
Speaker 6 (33:11):
Get I'm not leaving heavy. I'm not leaving.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
I'm not leaving. I'm not like the Wolf of Wall Street.
Speaker 6 (33:21):
I'm not leaving. I will say one thing about these
offensive line now with h with what happened last week
with the with Alex Kappa at that right guard spot.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
And how it looked over there.
Speaker 7 (33:37):
Uh, maybe you expect a Caleb Rogers uh their rookie
out of their rookie that they drafted in the third round.
Uh this year uh from Texas Tech Mansfield.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Native wo what might get his first start in the league.
Speaker 7 (33:54):
I was being nosy, you know, keep my ears low
to the ground, and it sounds like he might get
his opportunity to start because.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
They are I know they know that quin Williams is there.
I know that they know, Hey, you got somebody that
people have to prepare for. I know that they know that.
Speaker 7 (34:08):
Quint Williams is there and that this Dowas defensive line
is in the interior can get after it. I wonder
if that's a change that we see this game. I
guess we gotta keep on.
Speaker 5 (34:18):
They got somebody that they gotta respect. I ESPCT can.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
All right, first, they are saying right here on Grosstar Boys,
talk and dive deeper into this matchup of next after
the break.

Welcome Back and the Girls, Stop Boys Talk. Persent Body
in Viciline, Nicole Hutcheson, Brihanna Aldridge and Morrison. Who's your
defensive X factor in this mashup?
Speaker 5 (37:13):
Go Cowboys? Defensive factor?
Speaker 6 (37:20):
I don't know what day it.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
Is, huh, I would say, I know what day it
is you today?
Speaker 5 (37:28):
You?
Speaker 6 (37:28):
Oh, never mind?
Speaker 4 (37:31):
My bad.
Speaker 6 (37:31):
No, I'm talking about the nugget mixing the segments. We
got it now though, I know.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
That's why I just ask you the question.
Speaker 7 (37:40):
I'm gonna say. I'm gonna say the linebackers or who
or the nickel corner or whomever is going to be
defendant Rock Bowers in the tight ends for.
Speaker 4 (37:55):
For the Raiders.
Speaker 7 (37:58):
I think that that's the map of the game again,
because those guys are at this point, well, I would
assume that Bowers is kind of their number one, which
is weird because they also have Trey Tucker on the
outside but yeah, the middle of the defense.
Speaker 6 (38:12):
Okay, yep, yeah, I was Bowers is going to be,
to me again, the biggest threat that they have, his size,
what he's able to do. And that's why I asked
you guys in the previous segment who you guys thought
would be lined up in the slot and who would
be on the outside, because I just don't see Bland
(38:33):
and Bowers being a good match together. So if i'm
ebra flu's, I'm looking at who else I have because
I'm not saying I lose all faith in Ron Bland,
but I just I don't like that matchup.
Speaker 7 (38:46):
I mean, well, Logan Wilson is you know, one of
the I would assume at this point he's one of
your best coverage linebackers. So maybe that's something that you see.
Hope pray that we got to see a translate on
the field. Yeah, I gotta.
Speaker 4 (39:01):
See also too.
Speaker 7 (39:03):
I think also diggie'soo is gonna be important in this
game with again getting some some big dogs in the
middle in the Quentin Williams and obviously having a Kenny
Clark there, maybe that.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
Frees him up.
Speaker 7 (39:13):
Solomon Thomas, some of those those guys that are a
little bit more slippery to get some to get some
penetration and get to the quarterback. This week, Gino Smith
is not obviously he's dealing with the quad contusion. He
is not mobile in that sense, like can he move
around the pocket a little bit? But this is that's
not his game. Maybe that helps Dallas be able to get.
Speaker 6 (39:35):
Some some sacks on the quarterback playing with injury for sure,
so definitely a little banged it up getting thereus injuries
over here.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
But what about you they play him like that, that's crazy.
Speaker 5 (39:47):
I'm gonna go.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
I wanted to say linebacker room, but I really want
to see if in terms of this depth, what they
do do with the secondary position in terms of corner
I prefer obviously you look back and see what Deron
Bland was able to do on the outside right, pick
six lider, things like that. If you're looking at what
(40:09):
we have right now, Kyrie Elum is not necessarily the
best option considering what Eberflus wants to do.
Speaker 5 (40:16):
In my opinion, Kayln.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Carson has improved, but I'd like to see that Kayln Carson, uh,
and I don't know, maybe a Sevon Rebel outside put
Bland and yeah, with the youngins.
Speaker 5 (40:28):
I mean, you can't forget you also have a ion
shoulders too.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
Why they while they brought him back because he can't
play the nickel spot, you don't know if he may
move to that safety position too. Now, just because he
did play safety at Kentucky and considering the depth there,
we really got it. So it'll be interesting to see
how that secondary room does kind of rotate. But yeah,
no OsO diggi Zua gonna be huge. He talked about
(40:52):
how his play has not been the best of this season,
but also Kenny Clark for sure, Yeah, see.
Speaker 4 (41:00):
To see him wake up. You know, I felt like
last week he had a last week. It was week
last week.
Speaker 7 (41:06):
Uh, he had a better, better showing than we have
seen the last previous two weeks. But I also think
too again that's why the defensive rotation matters.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
That's why getting guys in hearing that you know and
also too, this is the first game that you do know.
Speaker 7 (41:20):
No, I'm not trying to be funny that Mazie Smith
isn't isn't in the conversation about this rotation either.
Speaker 4 (41:25):
So do we see is is? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (41:29):
Do we see a j Tya or is Dala's gonna
want to have more size because one thing about the
Raiders is that they will go twelve personnel.
Speaker 4 (41:37):
They will bring out those tight ends.
Speaker 7 (41:39):
Michael Mayer is a tight end that got to study
a couple of years ago in.
Speaker 4 (41:43):
The draft, more of the traditional tight end. He's not
a hybrid.
Speaker 7 (41:46):
He's not a guy that is like gonna do receiver
s things, but he's gonna block his tail off.
Speaker 4 (41:51):
And so these defensive ends and those.
Speaker 7 (41:53):
Guys are gonna also have to get off of blocks
and be able to, you know, be efficient, be effective
in the rung dealing with those two tight ends that
they like to deploy and try to move people off
the ball, especially since those guys have to help a
lot with what's going on with their offensive line.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
If the Cowboys win this game, what would you feel
like will be the headline on Tuesday Night for this defense?
Speaker 5 (42:18):
Cowboys defense? I think the headline will.
Speaker 7 (42:21):
Be of why they want I don't know about the headline,
but I know that people are gonna be wondering was
the Micah trade worth it? Because when I think when
people get the opportunity to see.
Speaker 4 (42:37):
What a defense can be.
Speaker 6 (42:38):
Like when they have a real middle of the middle
of the defense plugger and a difference maker in that
regard and what he.
Speaker 7 (42:47):
Y'all, this is one of the best defensive tackles in football.
I know the Dallas has it. I know that we
haven't experienced that here in a while. Yeah, but this
is people just look at edges and speed guys as
guys that you is your defensive mind, that my Lord,
like an interior guy can change it too. I think
that might be the headline coming out.
Speaker 4 (43:07):
Was do I miss you?
Speaker 3 (43:10):
Do?
Speaker 4 (43:10):
I miss you?
Speaker 1 (43:11):
Though?
Speaker 4 (43:11):
How much I miss you? Do I miss you as much? Now?
Was it worth it?
Speaker 7 (43:16):
Is it better to build from the inside out?
Speaker 6 (43:20):
That's what I think It'll definitely be talked about because
that's part of what you gave up in what you're getting.
But I think the bigger thing is going to be, Okay,
how does this team look? It's it's all gonna be
postseason from now on. We're in November. These games you
can't lose that, that's gonna be the question. And they're
(43:41):
getting all this additional help. You know, well, does the
new additions on defense help the Cowboys level out? Because
we know what the storyline has been all year about
the offense. Carrying this team on their back. So can
the can the defense come in and show up a
little bit?
Speaker 4 (43:55):
Is it gonna be a balanced game?
Speaker 5 (43:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (43:59):
What do you think they head hold on about?
Speaker 5 (44:02):
Queen Williams?
Speaker 3 (44:02):
Thirteen runs to us for loss or no game, that's
no game. That's the second most in the NFL this year.
He's also the highest graded run defensive tackle in the NFL.
Speaker 5 (44:13):
You know we've been missing.
Speaker 3 (44:16):
A defensive tackle that could also stop the run. To gosh, hello,
highest graded defensive tackle that can also pass rush as well, Gray,
little great little mix up there?
Speaker 5 (44:24):
Would you ask me? No headline? Headline?
Speaker 3 (44:29):
What will the headline be?
Speaker 9 (44:31):
M M?
Speaker 3 (44:35):
Is this Cowboys team for real?
Speaker 4 (44:44):
They win this game? Okay?
Speaker 3 (44:45):
No, but like in terms of in terms of making
the new trays, Logan Wilson, Quinn Williams, those new additions, Yeah, Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (44:52):
Team for real.
Speaker 3 (44:55):
That's been a team obviously the Raiders on a team
to really measure that up.
Speaker 5 (44:58):
He's so sick.
Speaker 6 (45:00):
I'll ask that question. Eagles, you said they was gonna
be there or the chief No, I said chiefs. I
went high. You said I went low. I went high?
Speaker 3 (45:09):
Please please, Yeah, this is.
Speaker 5 (45:11):
Not a measuring stick.
Speaker 3 (45:12):
Absolutely whatsoever. But it's more so of is this team
uh going to turn things around type of things? Yeah,
just because I mean, you can't win, you can't lose
no more games like we gave up them easy little
games the first half of the season.
Speaker 5 (45:28):
You ain't got no room fair right now.
Speaker 6 (45:30):
This is an explosive, exciting offense that is being talked
about throughout the league, and we have one more win
than the team we're about the face, that's the crazy
part about talk about it. That's the crazy part.
Speaker 4 (45:41):
And then again too like say tie please. That upsets me,
but it really rattles me.
Speaker 7 (45:48):
But I think I also think y'all with with the offense,
