Speaker 1 (00:02):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
This is Girls Talk Boys Talk, presented by Invisi Line,
trusted by over five hundred NFL players for their winning smiles,
and broadcasting live from Dallas Cowboys World.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Headquarters at the Star.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Now your host, Nicole Hutchison.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Happy victory Monday. Nicole will join us momentarily. I am
Christy Scales, joined by Breonna Aldridge and Aisha Morrison here
in the SWBC studio, Girls Talk Boys Talk presented by
Invisi Line. Just fourteen hours after an epic comeback, tying
the biggest comeback in franchise history, Cowboys fall behind twenty
(00:56):
one to nothing score late in the second quarter, shut
out the Eagles in the second half, win on a
walk off field goal by Brandon Aubrey twenty four twenty one,
sending ninety three thousand fans home happily from AT and
T Stadium. Ladies, did you ever, at any point in
(01:18):
that first half lose the faith in the Cowboys?
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Bri You were there. You know what it felt like, Christy.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
I did one of these after they got twenty one,
and I was like I'm gonna go get a snack
in the press box because what is going on.
Speaker 6 (01:33):
I will say them getting on the board right before
the half. I was like, Okay, they're gonna use this
momentum when they come back or they're gonna flat line.
And I think the biggest surprise and the biggest thing
in the locker room that everyone including offense, was talking about,
was the defense.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
They have been the suspects all season.
Speaker 6 (01:50):
You saw it Monday night where they came out and
it was this emotional type of game, and it was like, Okay,
was that just because the Raiders on the other side,
or is this because this defense is actually going in
the right direction. And they went from playing one of
the worst teams in the NFL to playing the best
team in the NFL and they were able to hang
and shut them out. I think it was eight straight
(02:12):
possessions where they just gave them absolutely nothing, and then
they gave their chance.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
What this offense, we know what they can do.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
I wish the offense would stop doing these really slow
starts because it's gonna bite them in behind eventually, especially
when you start talking about some of these better teams
they're playing, especially if we're talking about them possibly going
to the postseason because it's going to be a quick postseason
ending if that's how it keeps going. But it felt
like a movie up there. I was like, what is
(02:41):
going on? And for those who don't know most of
the people in media, if you're in the press box,
you have to get on that elevator by five minutes
because then the coaches have to go and they freeze them.
So like, all this crazy stuff is happening, and I'm
watching on delay, like on YouTube TV who had like
behind the five seconds, So I'm hearing the cheering and
(03:01):
the craziness because there's a lot that happened obviously in
the last five minutes, and I'm trying to hustle down
there to watch it on the TV's with everybody. And
then seeing Aubrey come out, I'm like, Okay, I don't
care what I know. He missed the first one, but
I was like, he's gonna put this to bed. And
once I saw him come out, But man, they made
it interesting all the way to the end.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
It was fun?
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Was it?
Speaker 5 (03:19):
It was fun? I mean, to answer Christy's question, I
have a thing where I don't really eat during the game.
It's just not my thing. It's not my thing.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
You love being the snack wished me exactly.
Speaker 5 (03:32):
I'm not gonna snack unless I'm comfortable. But at some
point in time in that first half, I'm like, let
me figure out when I'm about to you for dinner.
I started playning because it was it was that bad
at that point. I think there's a lot of things
that came into play when you talk about that first half.
I agree with Breed that the slow starts are stressful.
(03:54):
That's something that we've seen with Dallas against the Raiders
and also to against Philly yesterday. However, something that we
talked about here, Christine, we talked about it is this
four well three games in twelve days. It is difficult, Isn't.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
That what it is? Is it the game?
Speaker 5 (04:11):
It is difficult to game plan for the next team
in this time period. What happens is that there's a
lot of rollover from the previous game plan to the
next game plan because you don't have enough time to
install it. Now. Dallas was on a shorter week, not
like a shorter week, but a shorter week, and I
think it took Dallas some time to like obviously get
(04:32):
in rhythm and kind of figure out what Philly wanted
to do. I mean, they came out firing all cylinders
passing the ball, and that's not something that Philly has
done well. On the inverse, it sounds like Philly wasn't
prepared for some of the stuff that Dallas did defensively.
So I think that there was kind of like it
took Dallas a while to acclimate, which to your point, Bri,
I don't like either. But as you said, as you said, Brie,
(04:56):
once they got once they scored before the half, I
was like, can they roll this moment him into the
second half? Because we've seen through this season and for
the last couple of years that Philly can have lows.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
They can go through these weird spurts of.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
Playing really well in the first half and then they
take a whole quarter off or two. So I mean, y'all,
I was I was stressed out, but I enjoyed the chaos.
I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the the second half of
the game.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
I really did. Didn't we say Friday that it was
going to be the dog the game? You said that,
So you had.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Twenty with Brandon Aubrey, with the winning field game winning
field goal. Yeah, missed it by a couple of points.
Speaker 7 (05:35):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
I was rewatching a bullsey or bust and I was watching.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
I know somebody had said, thought, yes, the dog of
the game.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
You did, you did, you had him as the dog
of the game. And I was listening. I was just like, oh,
Christy was on it. She was on point, the cole
was on point.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
You made some good points. It was good. Yeah, I
tell you.
Speaker 7 (05:53):
Though.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
When Brevin Spanford caught the touchdown pass late in the
third quarter and draws it to within, makes it a
one score game, brings it to twenty one to fourteen.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
You're like, Okay, this is it.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
This is really going to happen, because they were at
that point when for Brevin span Ford it was the
first touchdown of his career, and you're getting these contributions
not just from the pickens and the lambs and the
guy's dack that you expect to get, but when you
have the contributions from the role players later on Trent
(06:29):
sig the long snapper with the recovery on the fumbled punt,
so you know, it's like, okay, this is all working here, right.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
That's when I knew.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
When did you know Breed that that okay, this game
is in hand or you were still you were still
downstairs with the.
Speaker 6 (06:49):
Say honestly like, I'm more like with this team, to
be fair, I've seen them fall behind and I've seen
them not.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
Be able to put away game that they should have.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
So I never really got comfortable, and I got very
uncomfortable when he at the I was like, Oh, he's
gonna kick it and this defense is going to hold
up like they've been doing all game.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
It's gonna be over. And then he went for it
on yeah, And that's when the second.
Speaker 6 (07:15):
I didn't get comfortable and I'm watching That's why I
was downstairs to watch that call, and I was like,
very very surprised. I think three weeks ago I would
have defended that call because the defense was very unreliable.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
If you will, you don't know what you're gonna get.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
But I was like, this defense is doing everything that
you're asking for, and I get I think he I
didn't sit in. I was still in the locker room
when he was talking, and I think I heard a
snippet of it.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
You know, he.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
Felt like the opposite, right, like he felt like he
had confidence and his defense would to be able to
stop the going downfield or what have you. But it
just honest, and then.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
They give up a couple of plays and you're like, oh, no,
exactly get it.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
If you don't get it, they have to drive the
length of Yeah, but then he had in mind, but
you should have took the points because they haven't even
going to get passed that.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
I think that was That's what all all the reporters,
what is he doing?
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Like everybody was losing their mind downstairs, and I think,
I mean, we've never been head coaches, we've never been
play callers, so I don't like to be like you
should have done. I don't know what it's like and
in that type of moment, but I was like, it
could have went the other way. So I think not
only did they play for each other, we know the
emotions are high for obvious reasons, but I also think
they saved their head coach last night.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Not his job, but saved him alone brief.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
Yes, yes, sleepless nights he talks about when they lose,
he got he earned.
Speaker 5 (08:33):
Yeah, he would be some melatonin because they was there
was some dis to your point, there were some some
times in this game where I felt like him being
you know, a young head coach came into play, like
some of the decision making, the time outs, some of
the fourth down calls, some of it just some of
the stuff.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
Again and even with.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
The challenge challenges, the non challenges. I saw somebody say
that Shoddy has challenged all year, right, I think that
I don't. I don't feel like i've seen him.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Maybe he forgets you know, he's gonna have a great arm, so.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
I've been waiting, I mean waiting to see the form.
Speaker 8 (09:12):
Yeah, I think that some of the calls though, for
him being so aggressive, it's now that confidence in your
defense and they can go out there and get a
stop now, right, I mean, yeah, that's what he said.
That fourth down call that they made earlier in the
game at the fifty turnover on downs. I mean I
think that was just like a let's just play with
Philly and see what they do. But but no, I
mean this is an impressive win. I mean, you talk
(09:33):
about the defense, right, holding them to what sixty three
yards rushing on the ground.
Speaker 7 (09:37):
My math was a little bad.
Speaker 8 (09:38):
It was like twenty eight in the second half alone.
I mean, I don't really want to talk about the
third downs because, like Okaya, stats.
Speaker 7 (09:45):
Don't really tell the whole story.
Speaker 8 (09:46):
This Philly team in the first half was winning on
early downs, but I mean they buckled up second half,
and really, man, I was impressed this defense really pulled
together and impressed this offense. Though on the other hand,
if they didn't have George Pickens, it was gonna be
a long day. Yeah, Georgie Dickens.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
No, I was just saying, I felt like twenty one nothing.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
I don't know how you guys feel about it with
Dak and what he is, but I felt like and
that point is weirdly it is to say I don't
feel I feel like he was playing like he had
nothing to lose.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
I'm gonna sling this thing downfield, and it.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
Works when you have I know, ceed he had an
off game, but even he found him in a big moment,
you know, as well to set things up.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
But it's just a magical those two are magical at
the end of the day.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
I know there's a lot of things. That was an
off game for Sea again, and I know we'll talk
about that. I actually saw him. Who's the third guy
to go back to the locker room? And he wasn't
with his teammates. And I didn't even post that video
because I knew what that video was going to lead to.
Speaker 9 (10:41):
You.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
I was, let me just get it.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
Come on the sirnment.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
He was very much happy.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah, and he wasn't happy at the end of the
Raiders game either, but that was because you know, he
had that pass off of his fingertips there in the
end zone that would have been a late score.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
But yeah, yeah, I saw that. I know that conversation
is brewing.
Speaker 10 (11:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
But what was so great though, was you know, we
talked a moment ago about the contributions from so many
different players, but for Osa and the captain's on defense
to get that sack and just the pass rush and
just right in Jalen hurts his face and oh my gosh,
(11:21):
because Bree, you know, I agree with you, you know,
in regard or what you guys were saying about go
for it on fourth down from the Eagles too and
make them drive the field. But they had gotten the
ball up in you know, with two minute morning Yeah,
I mean they were, they were, you know, one decent
play away from field goal range, right, and Osa gets
(11:43):
that sack on third down enforces the punt, and I
was just so happy for him. In particular, Nicole, we
were saying earlier, at what point in the game did
you know, I mean, did you really feel I never
felt it.
Speaker 8 (11:57):
I didn't feel it because no, like being honest, yeah,
I mean because you down twenty one to nothing, even
in the second half. I mean, they put together some
drives and then get off the field and can't convert.
Speaker 7 (12:10):
It was until maybe that let me give that to
my notes.
Speaker 8 (12:13):
It was the fourth and goal when Fergie was short
of the goal line.
Speaker 7 (12:17):
I was like, this is cooped. But but then you know, of.
Speaker 8 (12:21):
Course your defense goes out there and plays well, also
gets that game ceiling sack and then able to drive
you know the length of the field. Of course, Brandon
Aubrey Neil's a field goal. I really didn't know. I'm
not gonna lie to you. Granted, this defense had been
playing all well all game, but I did not know
if this offense was going to be able to pull
it through.
Speaker 5 (12:40):
I for me, it was when they came out and
got when the when the defense came out and got
a stop to start the third, I was like, oh,
they don't want like sometimes you can just tell when
a team is like and that's what Sakwan Barkley said
in his interview after the game. He said they wanted
it more than us. Yeah, like I gets right then.
When I was like, Dallas, if this offense could just
(13:02):
come on with it. Defensively, they figure some things out
and they cannot run their one dimensional and they can't
pass the ball well right now. The quarterback's not seeing
the field well enough right now. So I was like, like,
Dallas just needs to put together some offensive drives. And
once they finally got to it, I.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
Was like, but they were early in the game. They
were passing the ball well, getting aj.
Speaker 8 (13:25):
Brown involved early absolutely, So that was kind of impressive.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
Yeah, I thought that they caught Dallas. I think they
caught Dallas a little off guard to start that game,
especially when you've been looking at Philly like they want
to establish the run. It's just ain't dear, but they
have been attempting to do it in multiple games and
for them to come out, they saw some weaknesses. They
thought that they could attack Kaitln Carson obviously, they thought
they could attack Savone Ravel. They thought they could do
(13:51):
those things and they did early in that game. But
that's the thing about Philly. They have had trouble again
running the ball, so they were one dimensional. Made things
easier for Dallas. And also they are inconsistent. They are
inconsistent situationally, and I felt like, oh.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
Ye, penalties.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
You talk about the Cowboys getting this, the defense getting
the stop to open the second half. No, I'm sorry,
that was Philadelphia stopping themselves. That illegal formation penalty on
Philly negated the twenty yard game to Dallas Goddard and
forced the punt, which was.
Speaker 5 (14:25):
Really important because that was something that happened as a
result of them not having their starting right tackle. You
get Fred Johnson in there, and he's normally their guy
that runs jumbo. Now he's kicked out as a starter,
so you have another gentleman in there. And he didn't
declare yep, it sounds like so, you know, but Dak
did some smart things at the line of Scrimmers. Though
he got them substituting a few times. He got them
(14:47):
slipping a few times as well. But that's the penalties
is a huge party. We didn't expect that on this shoe.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
The NFL is all about who makes the fewest mistakes
right and all of the things, all of the bad
things that the Cowboys did in the first half, with
costly penalties, with turnovers and the like. It was the
Eagles turned to do it in the second half, and
it was truly a Jacqueline hide game really each team
for half. But luckily it was mister Hyde half for
(15:15):
the Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
In the second half Jacqueline Hide to personality killer.
Speaker 5 (15:22):
And that's the Yeah, I don't know in the one
is bad and one is thanks Christy heard that. Yeah,
we believe expect ninety six penalty yards from Philly, y'all.
Like we sat here on Friday and we was all, like,
they're not gonna turn the ball all over that much.
We don't expect them to. And they really did shoot
themselves in the foot a lot. Ninety six yards and
(15:44):
penalties is.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
A lot of yardish, yeah, and the turnovers yeah yeah, well,
I mean they there, they were only had like six
fewer penalties than the Cowboys coming in. And we know
how badly the Cowboys have shot themselves in the but
so so far this year. But but yeah, hey, can
(16:05):
we just enjoy it for just secondary only thing better,
the only thing juicier than girls talk boys talk on
a victory Monday talking about eating the Eagles. Cowboys beating
the Eagles would be to listen to Philly sports talk.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
Because they watching their own in Philly. If you were
watching Last Delicious.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Immediately I turned it on last night, I got introduced,
like my like my second year, I found out how
how Philly radio get down. Oh my, y'all. They crashed
out after camera, like after like a twenty one point.

Speaker 8 (20:18):
Hutchison, Brown and Aldridge, Christy Skills, Aisha Morrison still victory Monday.
We love a big win, comeback win, the tie for
the largest win in Cowboys history. But I want to
give some love to this Dallas defense because they have
continued to stack good week after good week and holding
Philly scoreless on their last eight possessions. What did y'all
(20:39):
like schematically about what? You know, this Dallas defense came
out and did the second half or really vocal the
i'll say second quarter until second half?
Speaker 7 (20:47):
Would y'all like.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Stopping the run?
Speaker 10 (20:52):
No?
Speaker 2 (20:52):
No really, I mean you know mentioned it briefly just
the statistics earlier, but just took it away from them, right,
And you're right about targeting aj Brown early and often,
and then Davante Smith got more involved, you know, in
the second half.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
But you know, Goddard really wasn't a factor.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
I think his biggest play was negated by a penalty.
And I think that Dallas really won in the trenches
in this game. Both sides, both sides of the ball really,
I mean more than held their own offensively and opening
holes for Javonte Williams so and given Dak enough time
to throw.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
So this was a very very physical game.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Trusting on that, and from down at field level you
could really really see him getting after each other there.
But I think the way that they've stopped the run
and with the Raiders, you say, ah, you know, well,
Ashton genty and that offensive line is bad, and yes
the Eagles were without Lane Johnson, but still that's a
(21:53):
good unit. And so you have to give props to
the d line for what they accomplished last night.
Speaker 6 (21:58):
Yeah, I think I need Christy to get her glass
on this one too, if this is right. But I'm
pretty sure it was sixteen pressures they got last night.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
I'll double check it.
Speaker 6 (22:06):
Yeah, I want to say six quarterback hits lets I'm just.
Speaker 7 (22:10):
Eight came from Quentny Williams. I think you're on track.
Speaker 6 (22:13):
But they didn't get They didn't get home a ton
when you're talking about getting the sacks. But the pressure
was there and it really made Jalen Hurts uncomfortable. And
I think that, like we saw Monday, it helps the
second level and it helps your cornerbacks. Cornerback is a
tough position, like we talk about it with Schottenheimer all
(22:33):
the time, like you'll see someone give up a big
chunk play and come back in and be able to
hold it down and talking about cars, and I know
he got that. There was like a huge play and
I can't remember who he got beat out by, but
in my looking at it, it just looked like an
amazing catch. I was like, he was there, he wasn't laid,
he had a hand in there that I think that
was just like an amazing catch. And he took, he
(22:54):
took a little, you know, but when you have again,
they have one of the better duo in the league
as well, just like we do.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
And I thought, credit.
Speaker 6 (23:03):
To the young corners in there hanging in there and
showing up, because I mean, at the end of the day,
this is who we got, this is what we're rolling with.
They made some changes, obviously Kaye is no longer in
their digs is going to be.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
Coming back eventually.
Speaker 5 (23:17):
But I really liked what our dbs were doing back there,
and I haven't said that in a long time.
Speaker 6 (23:24):
No, Yeah, they get like Christy said, it's because of
what the pressure was able to do upfront.
Speaker 5 (23:28):
I totally agree. That's something I thought walking away from
this game, and that was another reason why. You know, Christie,
you asked like when did you know? I said, oh,
when that when the run game started opening up in
the third quarter, you could see those runs by Javonte
Williams were getting a little bit longer. Those guys were
a little bit slower to tackle him. And then also
too we got to see some of the quick pressures
(23:48):
up front. I think I think, oh so I was.
I saw a reporter E. J. Smith from you know,
the Philly side of the DS folks, they said that
he's that the O lineman pointed out that the Cowboys
usually of five man fronts as as a reason for
the struggles in the run game. Landon Dickerson said, Dallas
hasn't shown many odd man fronts this season and it
(24:10):
wasn't something they had much time on task practicing this week. Again,
to me, I think that goes back to the time
in with the short week and install and stuff like that.
But they struggled with that. They struggled with Dallas bringing
five guys and dropping five guys or dropping a guy
and kind of showing some stuff, some different things. I
thought that Ibra Flus had some timely blitzes from the
(24:32):
nickel position, even though Reddy Stewart didn't get there as
cleanly as you would have liked. I liked the idea
of it. And the most important thing is they decided
they weren't gonna double Quinn Williams are y'all crazy? Yeah, yeah,
like it was, but it's harder to do if there
are five men. And I'm tracking that and that maybe
that is what it was, but it's still just the
(24:53):
fact that that's why you do five obviously, but it's like,
I mean, this is one of the most double team
players in the the NFL for a reason, and you
thought you was special or something with how your interior
offensive line is played. I mean, and I like that
because to me, that goes to Flues like kind of
I'm not gonna say he's like really cooking. I'm not
gonna say he's cooking, But I think it goes to
(25:16):
him playing the matchup game, that's the game within the game,
taking advantage of something that you see in the game
and being like, okay, well, you know he started doing
that more with the Raiders the other week we talked
about it. You talked about it in a cale, but
like to see it, it's kind of becoming like a norm.
I thought the Dallas interior defensive line really played well,
like you said, Christy, and that was the difference maker,
(25:37):
and then getting quick pressure and making Jalen hurts like
they were in his lap a lot. Did you see
like how much interior pressure they were. I agree, I
agree that and to your point Bread that it helped
the back end, this young secondary be able to cover
as well.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Yeah, and I'd like to talk about what the plan
was for the back end.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
Oh yeah, in.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Terms of and snap counts and everything. Cornerback position in particular,
Reddy Steward played a lot more than I anticipated because
it was my understanding that obviously that Deron Bland would
be starting along with Kayln Carson and then when it
was time to go to Nickel, Bland would move inside
(26:22):
and then Revel would play outside. And they did that,
but the first couple of series it was it was
Ready Stewart coming in and playing inside and with Revel
he played thirty one I'm sorry, I think it was
nineteen snaps. Last week, they wanted to make sure that
(26:42):
they didn't overdo him because you've got the short week
going into the Thanksgiving Day game. Well, he ended up
playing thirty nine snaps in this game, and that's because
Kayln Carson three plays into the second half, goes off
to the locker room to get an eye IV because
he's cramping up and dehydrated. He came back to the sideline,
(27:05):
he missed a full defensive series, was back on the sideline,
but still didn't go back in until the next defensive series,
so and then only lasted one play or two plays
before he came back to the sideline and was done
by for the day. So Revel ended up playing a
lot more than expected, and then the domino effect was.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
Ready.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Stewart got some more work as well, not just early
but late in the fourth quarter, and Triquest Bridges, who
was just going to be the backup, he ended up
playing quite a bit in the second half as well.
So guys that getting more snaps than they thought they
were going to get and held up very well. But
to Ayesha's point, I think a good part of that
was they were benefiting from the pressure from the front seven.
Speaker 8 (27:54):
Yeah, they obviously looked like this young group I mean
waving Kayer elon the day before, yeah, Saturday, Saturday, and
so they like what they have in Savon Revel even
though he's not playing. You know, obviously one hundred percent
of the snaps just you have a Kaylin Carsondron Bland,
but they haven't ready Stewart as well. But you know
you talk about you made a good point, Ayisha about
(28:14):
the double teams. Quinn Williams face his second lowest double
team rate this season. Of course credit to the five
man fronts. But you know, the question has been not
the question, but like the statement's been thrown around about
can you know one person really change this defense? And
if you ask Quinn Williams, the Saint Tennis, the Saint Golf,
you know, no one person can change a defense. But
(28:36):
since he has arrived somehow, some way, miraculously, I don't know,
this defense has just started to play well up front,
getting pressure even though they're not getting home. Like Breed
made a good point, but you know, does one player
make a difference for a Dallas defense like a Quinn Williams.
Speaker 6 (28:53):
He's actually asked the same question right after the game
on Monday and had the same answer, and he's probably
gonna keep getting it, and he keeps giving the same answer,
And I think to your point too, And I go
back to what we.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
Were talking about.
Speaker 6 (29:07):
For the Philly game, when you're talking about Jay and Phillips,
the defense statistically for the Eagles went up two games,
and ironically that was when they made a trade for
jam Phillips. And the same thing has happened for the
Cowboys this defense. Jerry said it last night. He said,
if you would have told me that the defense would
have been the reason why we won a football game
eight days ago, I wouldn't have believed you.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
And I was laughing because I was like, neither are week.
Speaker 6 (29:31):
So I think, yes, one person doesn't do it, because
at the end of the day, you still got to
get one hundred percent effort from the guys behind the
second level, and you got to get a hundred percent
effort from the guys behind them. But I think he's
making people's jobs easier. OSA, are you kidding me? But
I wasn't that your person. I'm like, what, like, because
(29:55):
what was the last couple of weeks. It's like, man,
you expect USA to be doing this this and that
he just got paid all this money and it's very like,
you know, inconsistent that that boy is free.
Speaker 5 (30:06):
Okay, I can't getting double team like that. The locker room,
that was a different old side. I talked to you
last night too, by the way, because it's not he'll
he'll always talk, but it's.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Like a different it's very he's very business. He was open.
There was like different rounds, like he was talking for
a minute, y'all. He was smiling and that was a
fun Yes, it was yes. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
The first two players who went in, I feel like
Marius was a second player. And as soon as they
went in music, I was like, dang, they were not
We were just laughing because it was just it's I mean,
it's it's more it's a big win, like I know
we like I'm listen, I'm trying to stay calm because
I acted food last night.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
Don't stay calm last night.
Speaker 5 (30:48):
This is a big win for this team. Regardless, like
to come back from a twenty one point deficit. Everything's
not looking good for you. I mean you talked about
the defense.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
I feel like even offensively, there's some confidence that's been
built there. But to answer your question, ago, he's just
a stabilizer. I think he's just one of those guys
that just he's gonna make guys better because of his presence.
And that's how football works, because people have to account
for good players. They're going to go out their way
to do it. But I think the defensive ends with
(31:21):
like a word as well, they're grateful. I'm sure they're grateful.
I think that is. You know, we talked about the
run defense. Jadeveon Clowney is playing the run at such
a high level, y'all the way he is seeing.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
The field and again he is a.
Speaker 5 (31:37):
Season gentleman in this game, but he has a no
how so you get to see him read the run.
It's fun to see him read the run. It's fun
to see him. It makes it reminds me of when
DeMarcus Lawrence was here, when you get to watch him
reading it and stuff like that, like they played. I
thought that in the run defense as well. To you
your point, ladies, they're all hats to the ball was real. Yes,
(32:00):
there was a lot of hustle to the ball. There
was a lot of running to the ball. You know,
guys tackled better in this game.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
At the beginning of the game, there was.
Speaker 5 (32:06):
Man, there's a couple of moments, but I felt like
they tackled better in this game.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
Philly has the ability to have yak yardage.
Speaker 5 (32:13):
The tackling was better in this game, So I think
the defensive ends like it, and the linebackers sure are
grateful for that one. That that Quentin Williams and Kenny
Clark and oh so diggi Zoo were playing really good.
Solomon Thomas had some some nice plays off the line
of scrimmage too, so they they we're being nice about it,
but like they dominated the line of scrimmage in a
(32:34):
lot of this game. Not the whole game, but for
a good majority of this game, they dominated the line.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
When they late, when they had to have it, they
did it.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
The physicality they that third quarter, it was like that's
when it really they out physical what was happening on
the other side.
Speaker 6 (32:52):
And I didn't think that was gonna be something that
was kind of my mouth when you're facing.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
Really that's why you said, when you that's why when
Chrissy said, when did you know? I said, like, when
you start physically seeing a team and pose their will
on another team, Dallas was out there hitting youar me?
Speaker 7 (33:08):
Yeah, that's fair, Christy, what you got.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
No, I agree, And you know, guys like Sam Williams,
we kind of been on him a little bit because,
you know, I thought he was going to be one
of the real breakout players for the season, and he
still can be, right with six games to go. But
that peanut punch getting that ball out forcing that fumble,
huge play in the game, huge playing the game. And
it's a hustle play too, coming from behind, you know,
(33:33):
and not just making the tackle but going straight for
the ball, and so good for him. I think that
helps with your confidence and everything, and so maybe that
can be a catalytic play, not just for this game,
but for him moving forward through the rest of the season.
Speaker 8 (33:51):
You talk about the hustle plays, that's a deveon Clowney
chased down on Jalen Hurts third down. I want to
know how fast he was running on that that play.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
That would be I bet next Stats could look that
up really like, yeah, yeah, sure they can. They There's
a chip in the football. There's a chip in all
the players shoulder pads. There's the officials are chipped. And
sometimes some of the players, like a Tyreek Hill or somebody,
they'll put a chip in the tip of their shoe,
and so there are data collection points. Sure, it's just
(34:21):
the same that we use for GPS. We'll do that
on another day. But believe me, there's all sorts of
behind the scenes data collection that's happening. Just like the
NFL team shoes at practice, they low jack them. They
not really low jack, but they GPS track them catapult
system to see how much distance they cover each day.
There's a threshold to reach but not exceed. And you
(34:44):
take that same kind of technology and you can triangulate
where the ball is and the players are and figure
out how fast people are.
Speaker 5 (34:52):
Gonna tell them You're gonna tell them today when they
be getting those stuffs. They'll be like, change my Maden
exactly exactly?
Speaker 4 (35:00):
He might.
Speaker 5 (35:00):
We might, Yeah, y'all gotta ask them that if you
see him in the locker room, like do you you.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
Might My favorite Keyshawn john Do y'all remember Keyshawn Johnson,
the wide receiver and he signed with the Cowboys. And
I think it was the first year that we were
out in ox Start and had to go to the
we stayed residence and by Marriott out there the team
and so I go up to the hotel, something about
the front desk, and Keyshawn's up there getting a room
key or something. But he's on the phone with the
(35:26):
cell phone with his agent complaining about his maddenery, you know,
and it's like, oh my gosh, I'll never forget. That's
why whenever I see Keyshawn on TV or any old highlights,
I'm like, yep.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
I remember being so upset. Yeah, I read it.
Speaker 8 (35:39):
There a thircond break here on girls, dog boys dog
dive into this offense and they deserve some love.
Speaker 7 (35:43):
Too bad.
Speaker 3 (35:48):

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Oh yeah, it's really embarrassing, say to walk down the

it's amazing when I when I swivel in my chair,
it'll go jingle jingle.
Speaker 4 (39:32):
J oh my. We're talking about ugly Christmas sweaters.
Speaker 7 (39:38):
It was ugly yesterday for this office.
Speaker 8 (39:40):
Yeah somehow, well, you bring it in, you'd bring it in,
you knew it, Dallas. They're four hundred and seventy three
yards of offense. Was the second highest total in twenty
twenty five. They're now twenty one and seven against NFC's foes,
and Dak Prescott, of course, now the all time franchise
leading passer for this franchise is history. Talk about this offense, granted,
(40:02):
like I said, wasn't pretty, wasn't perfect, but they were
able to move the ball when they needed to.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
Christy physical physical, physical, and Javante Williams continues that George
Pickens his yards after catch, that that long pass by CD,
what a game check, a long catch, what a great throw,
great catch, but that that really swung the game.
Speaker 4 (40:26):
I thought there.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
But that's what impressed me the most was the yards
after contact.
Speaker 5 (40:31):
Yeah yeah, yeah. What impressed me the most was just
how they stayed the course. You know, the run game
wasn't really getting going to start the game. About Davante
his vision and some things that they struggled early in
the game, but they.
Speaker 4 (40:44):
Stuck to it, and I thought that that was important.
Speaker 5 (40:47):
You know, obviously you're down three scores, you think you
need to just pass the ball, pass the ball. I
was ticked off in some of the second and ten
runs and stuff like that, but I thought that Dallas response.
I thought that their response to what was going on,
and I think that comes from the leader, the quarterback.
Like you talked Tobbri, I think the quarterback kept them
calm and kept them collected to get into this back
(41:08):
into this game. Pass protection where it wasn't always like
super clean, it was good enough, and run blocking, like
I said, as the game went on, got better. And
George Pickens is a star. That's the end of it.
I thought that Jake Ferguson had some very tough plays.
He wasn't scared at all to take it to Philly
(41:28):
in this game. But George Pickens is very special and
what he is able to do on the field because
again Ceedee Lamb is getting coverage role to him, like
don't make mistakes about it. Like he did have the drops,
he did have the issues, but he is the person
that teams are selling out to not let beat you
right now. So George Pickens is having one on one
opportunities and Dak is like, okay, let's go exploit them.
(41:51):
And that's what he's doing. Nine catches, he had the
ball throw on him nine times, he caught all nine
of them. He's just so entertaining, like he's entertaining. So
I feel like, you know, the offense to mean was
able to throw the ball when they needed to in
spots and really make Philly's defense. I think there was
decimating for some of them. For some of the plays
(42:11):
were decimating, like you could see them physically look like,
and they started to wear down. They were down that defense, y'all.
They were down that defense. Later in that third quarter
into that fourth quarter, you could see them getting tired.
So Christy said it, they just out physical those guys.
Speaker 7 (42:27):
Really.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Yeah, my credit goes to Dak.
Speaker 6 (42:29):
I think he literally put this team on his back
when he had to and showed out. I don't think
he gets enough credit for doing what he does because,
like I said, when you're down twenty one nothing, and yes,
your offense was out of groove, them points got to
come from somewhere. They got to come from somewhere, like
you know, you have to put them on the board,
and he gives you hope every single time, every single
time this team has been down. I think it was
(42:52):
Babe who put on a stat it was like the
Cowboys four and thirty six. Anytime they were down twenty
one nothing that were or twenty one points, twenty one nothing,
twenty one points and come back. They've done it four
times in franchise history. Last night made it five. I
think that says a lot for what you have on
the field. This is historically a team who's down twenty one,
(43:13):
they're done. Tyler Smith had made a comment about that too, like,
you know, what does he say?
Speaker 4 (43:19):
What did he say? They're skunked? Where they're skunked, that's
typically what it means.
Speaker 6 (43:24):
I think it just says a lot about this team,
And a lot has to do with Dak Prescott the
offensive line. That was one of the Okay, what are
they going to look like against Philly's defense up front?
And I think a lot of it had to do
with they'd have to do too much because again, Dak
Prescott was getting rid of that ball.
Speaker 4 (43:44):
Sobri and fast.
Speaker 5 (43:45):
It was coming out his hand quick, yeah, so fast.
Speaker 6 (43:47):
That you didn't have to really see the struggles that
the O line was going to have because Dak. And
that's how it's been, even going back to the beginning
of the season when the O line was missing.
Speaker 4 (43:57):
Some pieces, it was Dak and.
Speaker 6 (43:59):
It's continues to be him and going into or being
in year ten. I think he's just playing at an
elite level, breaking records. Again, every week we're sitting up
here and talking about a new record that this man
has broke. I don't think he's appreciated it enough. Not
just I'm not talking about in the building. I'm just
talking about in the league.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
Wise.
Speaker 6 (44:18):
I'm tired of seeing all these conversations about these top quarterbacks.
Speaker 4 (44:23):
MVP conversations and he's not in them.
Speaker 6 (44:25):
And granted, typically these are the qbs who are winning,
so that's that's another thing.
Speaker 4 (44:31):
Yeah, another thing, but yesterday.
Speaker 6 (44:34):
But no, I think I think Dak is just playing
at an elite level and doesn't get enough credit for it.
Pickens is amazing, and I think it's to Christy made
the point when we first started the show, when you
have key players who aren't clicking, but you can go
to a breve and span Ford. When Jake Ferguson, I
was like, man, I thought he was going to get
in there, and he just kept but he was getting
not But he was holding to that football with dear life, right,
(44:57):
you know, setting up the team so someone else could
go in and execute and finish the drive.
Speaker 4 (45:02):
And I think that speaks volumes. I will say.
Speaker 6 (45:05):
I'm glad they won, and I'm glad that locker room
was happening. But I'm looking at Javante in his presser
and he was smiling all my want to be like
take care the football, Like we have to take care
of this football.
Speaker 5 (45:16):
This is gonna pop him on it.
Speaker 4 (45:17):
I was like, can we just hold? Can we take
care of this football? And I'm also cool if our
wide receivers never run the ball again, it just it
just keeps. It's just keeping. Not it's bad, it's just
not good. City gets hurt for a couple of days. Turping.
Speaker 7 (45:31):
Please.
Speaker 4 (45:32):
I looked at the replay. Yeah, he tripped over the
thirty yard line. Please.
Speaker 5 (45:37):
And that was another thing too, Holy muffins start and
field position was bad. I mean their punter, their punter
was gigging at that.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
Yeah, why is it that deck has the best drives
when they're like eighty yards bad.
Speaker 7 (45:51):
Yards?
Speaker 4 (45:52):
We got thought radio, we're doing it all the time.
We've got them right where we want to. That's where
we thought about.
Speaker 5 (45:59):
It was what I'm saying. I was sitting there like
they're gonna have to drive the length of this field like,
and they do. That was something that drove me nuts
yesterday is the starting field position. You didn't get that
much from a return game only a couple of times.
I thought Turpan's play though, where Dak told him to
sit down in his zone, did kind of jump start
that that drive the I think it was the Pickings
(46:20):
TV drive, So got to give him credit there. But
I agree girl, that the quarterback is playing at a
high level. He doesn't get enough love for how he
orchestrates because he, like I said, he caught them substitute
a couple of times. He had a couple of I
think he had a free play yesterday, just the way
he manipulated the pocket and directed, and then obviously the
Russian touchdown too. You know, that's what I was getting
(46:43):
to see.
Speaker 4 (46:43):
That that's all. That's that's that's that guy. Stadium exploded.
That is that it was.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
That was his loudest it spin this year and probably
the level since the last playoff.
Speaker 4 (46:56):
It was a lot of fantastic people in a little
because Jerseys. Yeah, there was one point where Cooper Digene
made a tackle and you could.
Speaker 13 (47:07):
Hear cool.
Speaker 4 (47:09):
Disrespects it.
Speaker 5 (47:10):
But it was loud in there.
Speaker 7 (47:12):
It was very loud.
Speaker 8 (47:12):
Yeah, great energy in there for this Cowboys victory, because
this is.
Speaker 7 (47:15):
Victory Monday, we only celebrate that. But yeah, we got
to wrap up the show. But before we go, who's
your Farmer's dog? Dog Early? Yeah, we gotta do it
on Monday's too.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
Oh I had Brandon Aubrey with the game winning field goald.
Speaker 7 (47:32):
Yeah, we gotta roll that clip. We'll find it. I'll
get it.
Speaker 13 (47:34):
So right there you go.
Speaker 5 (47:36):
With dog Who's yours?
Speaker 4 (47:38):
I'm a cheek because I talk about him every week.
Speaker 5 (47:39):
I'm going with Reverence fan for okay, happy, I'm just happy.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
I said, we were like, okay, maybe every week. I'm like,
maybe this is the week you're going to use breakface
for some more.
Speaker 5 (47:49):
I was so happy to him to get his shine
because we know he can do in that blocking game.
Speaker 4 (47:53):
We know he's a key piece of this offense.
Speaker 5 (47:55):
He just on stat wise, he's not getting the splash
plays and I'm glad he got his.
Speaker 4 (47:59):
And he and he was captain yesterday. Yeah it's pretty good.
Speaker 5 (48:02):
Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be pickings for me. He just y'all.
I mean I feel like he reminds me, like I
feel like there's good players in the in the NFL.
Right now. There's good there's good receivers in the league
right now. When you see a guy making play, like, oh,
it's great play, it was awesome. Whatever George Pickens is
gives me o Cho Sinko Terrell Owens inter entertaining is like,
(48:24):
it's it's the I don't know, it's the it's the
wow factor. It's not I'm just a good player. It's
like I'm about to put on the show that I'm
gonna put on the show. And so he he he
really took over that game yesterday.
Speaker 7 (48:36):
Yeah, he has that shaisty. It's a little different too.
It's always a little your dog, Nicole.
Speaker 8 (48:40):
I was going Dak Prescott, yep, going Dak Preston all day,
just because.
Speaker 7 (48:46):
One, he's playing at an elite level right now.
Speaker 8 (48:48):
Granted it wasn't pretty for this offense, struggling the entire
first half.
Speaker 7 (48:52):
But the way that you got that, you know, you
made a good point.
Speaker 8 (48:54):
The way he's manufacturing everything, controlling this offense at the
line of scrimmage, it's it's all the charts. Nothing happens
without this quarterback.
Speaker 7 (49:03):
Of course, he has the pieces around him to get
it done.
Speaker 8 (49:05):
With George Pickens a struggling seed lamb, but he made
plays when he needed to.
Speaker 7 (49:09):
Javonte Williams.
Speaker 8 (49:11):
Yeah, nothing like a Dak Prescott Ladies.
Speaker 5 (49:14):
Yeah, all right.
Speaker 7 (49:16):
Unfortunately, Cowboys get the job.
Speaker 8 (49:17):
Done twenty four to twenty one the final in at
and T Stadium. They're back in actions, a short week
for them for Thanksgiving against the Chiefs.
Speaker 7 (49:25):
We'll see if the Cowboys can get it.
Speaker 8 (49:27):
Done, but we'll see y'all back here tomorrow eight am.
Speaker 7 (49:31):
Brian Aldridge, Chrissy Scales, Aisha Morrison. I'm a Couutchon. We'll
see y'all back here tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (49:37):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
