Speaker 4 (00:36):
Welcome to the Girls Talkboys Talk, presented by invisi Line.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Here in the SWBC studio, the only place to be.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
All Right, we gotta bringing Alriche, i, Asha Wors and
Justin barn Nicole Hudgson, and ladies was popping. Happy Thursday.
It's almost game day, less than twenty four hours.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
Nicole, you forgot something.
Speaker 6 (00:58):
It's the morning. People need to.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Way up.
Speaker 7 (01:05):
How you have like the same So that's kind of
she does. It's so much the same pitch like it's
it's actually talent.
Speaker 8 (01:11):
You gotta keep it, cuse that's actually talent to hear
the note and be able to hit that.
Speaker 6 (01:16):
If it works, why change exactly?
Speaker 3 (01:18):
All right? Time?
Speaker 9 (01:19):
What works?
Speaker 6 (01:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:22):
I was trying there.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
It didn't work, all right, Yeah, I tried it, alright,
Ladies practice was yesterday, a couple of days of practice,
obviously open to the fans. A lot of energy at practice,
and I just want to get y'alls thoughts takeaways from
on Yesterday, Wednesday, wild days are together, but just takeaways
(01:44):
from practice thoughts and you know what's getting you guys
excited because I know we have something special on the
show today, but I want to just get thoughts first,
and just I'll start.
Speaker 9 (01:52):
Yeah, So it was keep in mind I haven't seen
the guys practice. I wasn't a knox nerd, so fresh
eyes going in there from the last time I saw them.
Speaker 6 (02:02):
There were some massive.
Speaker 9 (02:03):
Changes that I noticed right away, so growth aspects of
you know, I saw Jalen Brooks make that extremely beautiful
catch in the end zone, but during drills it was
very apparent.
Speaker 8 (02:15):
I saw.
Speaker 6 (02:17):
Cavante Turpin really amping up the speed.
Speaker 9 (02:20):
He looked good, he looked healthy. But overall, I think
Nicole my biggest takeaway from yesterday was I didn't realize,
because it's very different seeing it on a screen, how
much Joe Milton will launch that ball at any point
in the field. And so what I started comparing was
how Dak Prescott has a little give when he's in
(02:42):
the red zone to kind of, I guess, put less
intensity and velocity behind the ball as compared to Joe Milton.
Speaker 8 (02:49):
The area of worry for me now.
Speaker 9 (02:52):
Is how much he will launch that ball in the
red zone when you don't need it, so it makes
it a very uncatchable ball for the receivers. That was
one of the main thing, main things I took away.
I had some conversations with guys about the playbook about
how they felt about the run game, which we'll sprinkle
in later, but overall, it was really good energy and
(03:13):
just a different pace from the guys talking to them
about the new coaching staff, specifically on the defensive.
Speaker 6 (03:19):
Side of the ball.
Speaker 9 (03:19):
I got some really good feedback about how Flues is
coaching and how better it just makes players feel and perform,
So really good feedback. But ultimately, my biggest thing going
in there was wanting to see how Joe Milton was
kind of operating, and that was my biggest area of
concern too.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Yes, yeah, so me from Tuesday too.
Speaker 8 (03:41):
Yeah, Okay, Tuesday I was there.
Speaker 10 (03:42):
I got to say, I mean, the biggest thing for
me was Jada Blues back, So I'm excited I'm expecting
to see him Friday night. I think that's going to
be huge because I think there's so many question marks
with the running backs. I said it on when I
was doing something with CBS. I was like, I have
more questions about the running back room now than I
did when we went into training camp because I thought
(04:04):
it was kind of a done deal. But there's been
some guys stepping up and we just haven't seen what
Jaden Blue can do.
Speaker 8 (04:10):
So very excited about that.
Speaker 10 (04:12):
Didn't go to practice yesterday, but I listened to what
the players were talking about after and Joe Milton's little
spicy remark.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
I liked he said he heard y'all, he's been hearing it.
Speaker 10 (04:23):
Okay, he understands he throws the ball hard, but if
you cannot catch that ball.
Speaker 8 (04:27):
You don't deserve to be in the NFL. As a
tele of Joe and it just I just liked that
to make I think he needs that. I'm glad he
didn't lose that.
Speaker 10 (04:35):
You know, obviously completing half of your past attempts in
your second game, giving yourself a D plus both after
both performances, and you see what people are talking about you.
So I think it's I think it's huge for him
to just say that after practice.
Speaker 8 (04:50):
I was like, Okay, maybe he'll go out here and
do a little Friday. You gotta be a little hyped
up about that because he had to clear the air
on that one.
Speaker 10 (04:57):
And then the third one is something that mister Votch
Lombardi brought to my attentional shout out to him.
Speaker 6 (05:03):
He says he.
Speaker 10 (05:04):
Watches us by the way ladies, so he said he
likes support, so if he's listening. We were sitting there
and I was writing something because I was going live
for my show, and he was like, you know, he
was like, first thing I see is that Shawnheimer is
very physical and he's serious about being physical. Because these
guys are normally in a walk through the first day
when they're doing, you know, the first practice back. And
(05:25):
I was like, you know, for someone who's just going
their second year, that's not something I wouldn't know, right
because I remember last year I didn't think it was
a huge deal.
Speaker 8 (05:31):
But I think it is a huge deal because.
Speaker 10 (05:34):
When you're talking about you know, we're not seeing Dak,
we're not seeing CD, we're not seeing pick, we're not
seeing the people we're gonna see a come regular season
well shot. He's making sure they're getting their reps with
the pads in and it sounds like the second day
was as physical as the first day. Fans are, you know,
hyped up. It's it's a good way to end training
camp practice. So those were my overall thoughts.
Speaker 7 (05:53):
Yeah, I mean, I do feel like last night there
was a difference between the from what I understand, there
was a difference between the tempo, uh in just the pace,
like just mentioned from the offense. I think one of
the things that stood out to me between the two
practices is this aerial attack.
Speaker 8 (06:10):
And what it's gonna be. I think the competition at.
Speaker 7 (06:13):
The bottom, not at the bottom, but the competition within
the wide receiver room, Ryan Flanoy, Treshaan Holden, Jalen Brooks.
Those guys really really battling, and with the injury to
to Mingo, it does kind of change the conversation of
how many guys they're gonna not only keep, but you know,
maybe that that opens up room for one of us,
(06:34):
someone that maybe we don't expect to stay. So I'm
interested in seeing how they're continuing to connect. I think
that within what they want to do with running the ball.
The aerial attack is going to be very intricate to
them getting off to the start that you know, Breeze
talked about about them getting off to a good start
against Philly.
Speaker 8 (06:53):
So for me, it's the aerial attack and the linebackers.
Speaker 7 (06:56):
I am ecstatic about this linebacker corps and some of
the versatility. Someone that was seeing the uptick from Mayors
Leafile maybe he's trying to see what.
Speaker 8 (07:04):
They have in Shamar James.
Speaker 7 (07:06):
And then we've gotten to see Jack Sanborn how he
commands the second level. So, uh, some some cool things,
but more than anything, it's the pace, it's the tempo.
Speaker 8 (07:14):
And it's also too that this aerial.
Speaker 7 (07:16):
Attack seems like it's gonna be a little a little filthy,
So I mean, you know, it's gonna be a little
versatile and and a little fun.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
So somebody's looking to be filthy as Jaden Blue. I
do want to make sure we do touch on him
because he has missed two preseason games due to injury
and with the last week of practice as well and Oxnarge,
So just talk about him, you know what he needs
to show on Friday, because you do have guys like
Phil Maffa who has played very well. Javonte Williams has
(07:45):
not played, of course, but he's expected to be your
starting running back for the Cowboys this year.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
And you've seen some flashes of Deuce, You've seen you.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Know a little bit of Miles Sanders. But just talk
about you know, Jayden Blue and what he's got to show,
and I shall start with you.
Speaker 8 (08:00):
I don't know he's a draft pick. I don't know
how much he has to I don't know how much
he has to show.
Speaker 7 (08:06):
I know that I selfishly want to see more from him,
want to see a little bit more from him, just
some again, some of that explosiveness. I think the offensive line,
specifically the backup offensive line.
Speaker 8 (08:17):
I think that these guys.
Speaker 7 (08:18):
Have worked pretty well in the run game as the
game has progressed and open up some lanes for these
guys to get to the second level.
Speaker 8 (08:26):
I think it's important too.
Speaker 7 (08:27):
That he was doing really well for a while, you know, guys,
he had that momentum building that he just gets his
footing back, and then also to the conditioning is important,
the pass protection is important, all of that stuff. So
he needs these reps. I think he needs to get
a feel for you know, game speed. Nothing can replicate it,
but this is the time that's important for him as
a rookie. I don't feel like maybe just that is
(08:51):
still a competition and you don't want to be theyd
man out. So I think it's still an open competition.
And like Nicole said, we do not know who's gonna
be what, when and where. Besides your mante Willislyn, I'm
deal dedlight.
Speaker 8 (09:03):
They really.
Speaker 11 (09:06):
Why.
Speaker 9 (09:08):
To be honest, it kind of just starts with the
offensive production before you can even start to assess Jaden
Blue because he needs the reps and what the offense
wasn't producing in their previous preseason game was live reps
for the running backs to be able to get a
groove and a feel for what a real run game
would be in live game action. So I think for
(09:28):
him specifically, if that were to happen again and the
lack of production, you know, you just make the most
of what you can. And that sounds so dumb and
so simple, But I was talking to Cooper b b
yesterday after practice and I asked him specifically about the
run game and asking him, you know, there's a lot
of discourse and worry about the run game right now,
and he kind of laughed and he was like, you
(09:49):
have to remember that what you're seeing in preseason is
nothing like what you're gonna see in the regular season.
And he kind of explained to me that last year's
playbook was so busy and there were so many similar
verbiages used within each play that it was kind of confusing,
which is why you know, you saw guys missing their
(10:10):
blocks and not really doing their assignment because there was
so much going on. And he said that this year,
something that was really emphasized was yes, there's similar verbiage,
but there's less going on within each play, which will
better the running backs and better the run game overall.
So I thought that was really good insight from him
because I was like, man, what do you mean, Like,
(10:32):
how how do you get to assess a running back
in preseason if if you're not like trying to shoot
some stuff here and he was like, well, you know
you you still get to and he basically explained how
this running back room because I straight up asked him
who is your your starting to if you had to
pick one, and he said, I'm gonna be honest, it
switches day to day because all of them have such
(10:52):
different skill sets. And he said, but no matter what,
better believe I'm be blocking for them. So that was
that was fun to talk to him about. But to
go back to your question Cole about what Jaden Blue
needs to do, he needs to run that dang ball period. Like,
I don't care if he gets one rep, two reps,
three reps. I want him to show what makes him
a different running back than what you've seen. Give that
(11:14):
Jaden Blue spark because really at this point, he is
behind the game. He hasn't had those reps. He hasn't
had those opportunities. And that's not to his fault. That's
an injury, that's what happens. But he has a lot
of making up to do. So he has to be shiny,
he has to be flashy in this game.
Speaker 10 (11:30):
I agree and disagree in a weird way because I
feel like what I saw an Oxnard, they have a
lot of faith in what Jaden Blue can do before
he went down. I don't feel like he has to
go out there and do anything magnificent. Weirdly enough, Friday,
I don't think it's going to make or breakout.
Speaker 8 (11:46):
It's killing now if he goes out there.
Speaker 10 (11:48):
And does weird things and fumbles a bunch of times
and just not getting stiffed. I think that's a different conversation.
But I think if he goes out there and does
a serviceable job, I don't think this man has anything
to worry. I think he's one of the many running
backs in this group who offer something a little bit different.
I think, I don't know how you feel like you should.
(12:08):
I know we kind of, I know we kind of
look like, why are we so one hundred percent on
Javonte Williams. We haven't really seen what Javontau Wilsms do
for from my personal standboint someone who covered him his
rookie season, besides being unproven with this team, it's just like, Okay,
how different is he from what is already in this group?
That's how I'm looking at it. And when you get
(12:29):
that fresh face like uh Jaden Blue in there, and
I feel like he does have he's kind of being
held at a higher level, if you will, of.
Speaker 8 (12:37):
What he can do for a fifth round pick.
Speaker 10 (12:38):
In my opinion, that's very fair. So that's what's shocking
to me. So I don't think he has to go
out there and do something wild. I just think he
has to look better than Deuce. I just think he
has to look adequate to what we've seen from film MafA,
because I think Phil MafA has had a great preseason
and I think Jayden Blue if anyone's bringing the pressure
Onduce Vaughn's job, if I'm looking at the.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
Group, that's fair.
Speaker 8 (12:59):
That is fair to ask.
Speaker 7 (13:00):
How long do y'all think it's gonna be? Just you
mentioned the like the fact that they are kind of
rotating guys in and out. They've been trying different matchups,
different guys, all those stuff, how long do.
Speaker 8 (13:12):
Y'all think it takes for it to be.
Speaker 7 (13:16):
Yeah, you know, there's maybe they're gonna run three guys,
like maybe there's three guys, But at the same time,
we are very clear that Cavante Turpin is gonna get
plays in the backfield. I mean, I think another guy
that comes to mind, just with some of the mix
in the match and they do is Hunter Liftkey. Where
he's not he may not get significant touches, but in
the way that they're using him with motions and think
(13:37):
fakes and stuff.
Speaker 8 (13:38):
Like that, he is gonna get some touches.
Speaker 7 (13:39):
And then you get to Ceedee Lamb, who might get
some touches. Honey, I wonder how long it does take
for them to establish like I do want them to
be Excuse me, I do want them to be a
matchup based running back room. Like, hey, if these guys,
if you're going up becaus a team and you know
their corners don't want to come up and tap outside
run all over them. But if that's not the case,
(14:01):
then you know, you know, use the guy that is
conducive to the matchup. But I do think there are
going to be like these are the guys, you know,
these are the guys, and then we're going to sprinkle
in some run stuff from Ceedee Lamb, Cavante, Tarrapin and
those guys, and then we're going to be able to
do things there. So I wonder, I'm asking you how
long y'all think it's gonna take for that to be
established or you think they're gonna be.
Speaker 8 (14:20):
Fluid all year?
Speaker 9 (14:21):
I mean, realistically, we don't know because we haven't really
seen it yet. And that's part of having a first
year head coach a new playbook, like.
Speaker 6 (14:33):
You won't know.
Speaker 9 (14:34):
To be honest, face that might even be a question
that isn't answered until like next year, because they still
have to feel a lot of things out, especially you know,
you even go back to the starters not getting any
preseason action. That takes a few weeks to shake off
some rust and you know, kind of get the continuity
going between the offense as a whole. So the offense
(14:56):
as a whole is going to take a couple of weeks,
if not that first week to kind of get in
the groove.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
But you know what, you'd like to see.
Speaker 9 (15:03):
That running game be established week one.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
That's what you would like to And.
Speaker 7 (15:07):
The only reason why I wanted to see Javonte I'm selfish.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
I'm sorry, I'm true, and that's okay.
Speaker 8 (15:11):
I'm selfish.
Speaker 7 (15:12):
I want to see more of him because selfishness, not
because but I do understand why people are like, especially
given what happened last year, is that you don't want
to get off to the slow start with the back
and forth and stuff. Whoever the best human out there?
But put the best human out there, let's google.
Speaker 3 (15:32):

Aisha Morrison and ladies.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
I just feel like that was so necessary.
Speaker 8 (18:46):
I rel it some is a really good.
Speaker 11 (18:48):
There we go.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
It's time to build the second time fifty three man
roster because cut down day is on Tuesday, and I
just want to and see which guys have impressed you
all since training camp the start July twenty First, all right, ladies,
let's start with receiver.
Speaker 8 (19:13):
Let's go Aisha, wait, what anybody.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Can chime in?
Speaker 9 (19:18):
You obviously have CD, You obviously have George Pickens, you
obviously have Cavante Turpin, Jalen Tolbert, now after that, Jonathan
Mingo's injury added a little wrench in, uh in what
I thought would be the situation. So I think at
that point you're gonna take a Ryan Flinoy, and I
think if Jalen Brooks can show out tomorrow, potentially a
(19:41):
Jalen Brooks. But I think he might end up being
a practice squad kind of guy unfortunately.
Speaker 6 (19:47):
So that's that's where I'm going.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
So you're keeping five or six receivers, I'm gonna go one, two, three, four,
I'm gonna go five, five, five, all right.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
I usually you look stressed.
Speaker 7 (19:57):
Huh, I'm not stressed a little bit. But uh so
you said ceed Lamb, George Pickens, Tolbert.
Speaker 6 (20:09):
And then it would.
Speaker 8 (20:12):
It would have been mc manning, maybe Brooks.
Speaker 7 (20:14):
Okay, I think it would be I don't know. I'm
very I'm very torn with I think Ryan Illinoy has
had definitely the best camp that we've seen him have.
I just the route running is so much sharper, the
hands look strong, the blocking is strong. He might he's
one of the better blockings. He's very confident. You can
(20:34):
tell the growth in his game. I think that he has.
And and then even so he filled in for Brooks
on special teams and did that too. And then when
you talk about the you know, the loss of Mingo.
Right now you have another guy, Illinoy, who has who
can high point the ball, who is very physical at
the point of attack. Some of the things that you
love about John Domingo, a lot of the things that
(20:55):
Illinoy can do. And I think he's faster obviously, So
I that's.
Speaker 8 (21:00):
A weird thing for me. With Illinoy, Oh my god.
Speaker 7 (21:03):
And then with Trashaun Holden, it's been making it difficult
for me as well, ladies, because you cannot deny the
talent that is there with this player.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
So are you keeping five or six?
Speaker 8 (21:14):
I'm keeping I'm keeping six.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
H Pickens City, of course, you said turban, Yeahbertbert, Illinois, Illinois.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
And then pot, where are.
Speaker 6 (21:31):
You going with that?
Speaker 7 (21:32):
I'm struggling. I'm having a hard time.
Speaker 8 (21:34):
We'll come Jesus, We'll come back to it.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
I like it.
Speaker 8 (21:38):
We'll come back to it.
Speaker 7 (21:40):
That is what I think, And I think that's what
this preseason game just last week. It's going to be
huge for some of that conversation about that bottom part
of the roster because both of those guys have all
their tails.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
They earned it.
Speaker 10 (21:50):
Yeah, go ahead, girls, I feel like, no, everybody you
guys said so I had I don't have them as five,
I said, have them keeping with six. I had Mingo
over Flinoy, even though Flinoy has had a strong camp,
but then obviously being out four to six weeks, I
put Flinoy back in there. Jalen Brooks I think stays.
I think they're utilizing them a lot in special teams.
(22:12):
So even if he's not getting the reps a wide receiver,
he's shown that he can be in there. I saw
him taking reps at gunner. We know that's CJ. Goodwin's spot.
We also know CJ. Goodwin is, you know, the second
U ten yured eldest ten years season get.
Speaker 8 (22:31):
I had to sit down with him and I was like,
you're thirty five years old.
Speaker 10 (22:34):
He's like all right, But I mean, it just feels
like Jalen Brooks is being tried in that spot, and
you got to kind of look towards the future and
that's an important role for this team, which what have you?
Speaker 8 (22:44):
But yeah, like I think six regardless, I don't think
they stay with five. I think they stay.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Let me ask us something. It is Turpin or Tobert
your wide receiver three, because.
Speaker 7 (22:55):
With the way usage looks like Turpin is just I
just think it's gonna be I think the usage makes
Turpin agree, I don't think.
Speaker 8 (23:05):
I don't think it's solidified for October that three an.
Speaker 7 (23:08):
No, And I think, what do you think about the
Like they're not going to be And that's kind of
what some of the players said yesterday, like they're not
gonna be rotating like as much as they've been doing it,
Like they've been doing a lot of interchanging and.
Speaker 8 (23:19):
Stuff with the three, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (23:21):
But I do think this this coaching staff has quickly
shown us that they value Cavante Turpin as a receiver.
He can slot inside, outside, slot, running back, like they
want to do everything with him. So I do think
that's gonna, you know, make his value on the field
more important.
Speaker 8 (23:36):
Now with the Brooks thing.
Speaker 7 (23:38):
I hear you breed on the value of him as
a with the special teams and someone being able to
come in and fill that role for your ace C J.
Speaker 8 (23:47):
Goodwin, who's been here for a long time.
Speaker 7 (23:48):
I don't disagree that that is an important role, But
I also I'm just like they're gonna have to make
some decisions in how they handle it, because whereas I
think that Brooks is fantastic, there to Sean Holden is.
Speaker 8 (24:02):
The upside, the upside from A and I want it. Yeah,
And I think it's around squat for sure. Yeah, and
I understand that.
Speaker 7 (24:09):
So I wonder if they're gonna do some finagling or
how they're gonna work it or whatever, because that's it's
gonna be a tough decision how they do it, especially
with Brooks being important here.
Speaker 8 (24:18):
Let's see if Holden can share anything on.
Speaker 10 (24:20):
Special teams, which I'm not even Yeah, I think that's
what's the issue.
Speaker 8 (24:24):
No, no, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (24:25):
So it's like, but is he do they see talent
in him enough to where we see guys in the
league that don't eventually do not even have to do that.
Is that something they want to see if you'll work
for I don't know.
Speaker 9 (24:37):
And to be fair, like when you see these guys
go into special teams like for the first time and
they haven't really progressed in it takes about a good
year for them to get a hang of it, and
it seems almost like a good challenge For most of
the players that I've at least talked to to learn
that position. It's a good challenge for them and they
understand it could be a make or break for their
roster spot as well. So when you have that little
(24:57):
carrot dangling above you, heck yeah, you're gonna perform.
Speaker 8 (24:59):
So Brooks has been doing this. He got drafted. When
he got drafted.
Speaker 10 (25:06):
College football, he laid out for it too, And that's
why I feel.
Speaker 8 (25:09):
Like he's had enough of those moments.
Speaker 10 (25:11):
It doesn't matter who's throwing the ball, but I will
say to not knock Flinoy, and I know there's been
a big jump, and I do feel like if a
different quarterback was throwing some of these balls, I feel
kind of bad for him.
Speaker 8 (25:21):
He's had more than one too many catches that.
Speaker 10 (25:24):
Yeah. I know Milton probably like my bad dad, But
I'm saying Floy had a great I remember him when
I got here last year having this moment, having a
great preseason, even going I remember him even in come
back at the Stars of training camp, the sleast to practice.
He had some big catches and things like that. So
when you're to your point, if you keep a trade
(25:44):
shown Holden because you see the potential and Flinoy is
doing what unfortunately happened last year, we started to fade
a little bit once it started to matter more then,
you know.
Speaker 8 (25:54):
But then it's also you talked about it during training camp.
Speaker 10 (25:58):
It's like there's some receiver is on this squad that
might not make the waits because other teams might you know,
come up.
Speaker 8 (26:06):
So that's another thing. I mean, other risk.
Speaker 7 (26:08):
I think, I don't know. They got some decisions to
make there. So that's the wide receiver room. Let's go runningrace, Saints,
Let's go running back. I'm gonna go to the very
obvious Javonte Williams obviously being I'll be one in these streets.
I do think that the streets make Frisco. I feel
(26:34):
like Miles Sanders and the ladies can disagree or agree.
I feel like Miles Sanders camp started off really strong,
like I felt like I noticed him right away with
Minny Camp, oh tas those things, and then as camp
kind of went on, there were times you would be like, oh,
I see him, and then every other times that you know,
like and even last week, when you look at these
some of these preseason games, there's there's some weird things
sometimes with his vision and things like that, and that's
(26:55):
not something that Miles has had problems with. And I
want to I think I'm gonna take a look back
at even some more his tape from last year and
kind of see, like what am I seeing? Because there's
a there's a up and down in this a little bit.
There's a little bit of hesitation there, and I want
to understand where that's.
Speaker 8 (27:10):
Maybe maybe Miles is one of those surprise guys that
we expect to be there.
Speaker 7 (27:14):
But Jayden Blue is his skill set and what he's
able to do, being explosive, having some wiggle on that
stuff that they decide to do that. I think that
you made a great point about Duce Fine and obviously too,
it's contingent on whether they use Hunter Lucky they list
him as a running back or a tight end because
they can kind of finagle that as well.
Speaker 8 (27:32):
Which they will do.
Speaker 9 (27:33):
M N.
Speaker 7 (27:36):
It'll be Javonte Jayden Blue, and I think hanah if
he's a running of the backs now. But because I
think Lee Davis is going to be on your practice,
I think, yeah, I think Lee Davis that man was
on his cow two weeks ago.
Speaker 10 (27:51):
He came into this thing if you if you want
somebody who can come in somebody's heart, I think he
proved that he can do that. And with more reps,
more time. What have you feel good about Malie Davis
being there? I agree with everything you just said, but
I have four with Lipkey in there as a running back.
Speaker 8 (28:09):
I just think Phil MafA put on enough to be here.
Speaker 7 (28:12):
I agree, but.
Speaker 8 (28:14):
I do think because shot.
Speaker 10 (28:15):
I think Schotenheimer has said not last press conference, maybe
the one before, he was like, I think there's gonna
be I know, you guys have your mocks and da
da da.
Speaker 8 (28:23):
I think there's gonna be some surprises.
Speaker 10 (28:24):
And I just feel like Phil MafA is gonna be
one of those surprises. I just really Miles, Miles Sanders,
I think it's it's I mean the coaching staff. Are
they gonna want two veterans in the room who kind
of do similar things or they want to take a chance.
I'm in sort of close down. Do you want to
take a chance with the rookies? And I think I
(28:45):
said it before. I think Jayden Blue is the rookie
that they're secure on, and I think Phil MafA, I'm
interested to see how many reps he get. He didn't
get a ton last game, but that's for obvious reasons.
They were feeding Miles Sanders, and I think they were
feeding him like like on perse to see, you know, okay,
what can he do here? What can he do here?
And maybe that's not a one hundred percent fair to
be so much into you know, that performance. But unfortunately,
(29:09):
just like we're talking about with Mingo, how we've all
bumped him out of our group, same thing happens with
Miles Sanders when you're injured most of camp and you
let another guy shine and he actually shines.
Speaker 8 (29:18):
This is where we're at. So I go with four
with Lippy and there Williams.
Speaker 9 (29:22):
Yeah, I mean I also think, for like health's sake.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
It is a good idea, you know, you said, depending
on what what they do with Yeah, because he could I.
Speaker 8 (29:31):
Still he could be.
Speaker 9 (29:32):
I think for health's sake, you need a veteran on
your practice squad too. And and not that's no knock
to Malik Davis at all. I mean, he's he's been there,
he knows what it is. But I also I have
four breath.
Speaker 6 (29:43):
I think we have the same ones. Jaden Blue Javonte
Williams film offa hunter Lipke. Is that your fore?
Speaker 8 (29:48):
Yeah, Yeah, that's what I have.
Speaker 4 (29:50):
All Right, I'm gonna go because I don't think I
don't think I said nothing about a receiver, But I'm
gonna go. Javonte Williams, Jaden Blue, and you got to
keep film Alfa, Yeah, you gotta keep him. I think
Miles Sanders kind of going back to what Ayisha had mentioned,
I mean, he did have a great.
Speaker 8 (30:10):
Start to Breed.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
I'm sorry he had a good start to his camp.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
I think that injury hurt him and that's what hurt
him in Carolina as well. And just talking about the
fact that, you know, the similarities similarities between you know,
Javonte Williams and Phil they do have, you know, some
of those similarities to their game, but you do need
a more veteran guy, you know, Miles has that similar
same kind of play style as Jaden Blue. And when
(30:35):
your vision is kind of hesitant, like we just talked about,
and you're getting these opportunities, I think that kind of
takes away from your stock on this team, so to speak.
And so yeah, I think, you know, Jayden Blues kind
of had a better camp and healthy.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
The game. Name of the game is staying healthy.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
And yeah, Jayden wasn't you know healthy, But he's also
a draft pick, so you know, Miles Sanders. They only
signed up for a one year, one point three million
dollar contracts, so I don't I think that was just
kind of like a test run to see what they
do have in him. I think their eyes are set
on Javonte Williams for sure.
Speaker 6 (31:11):
That one year contract to his insurance, Like.
Speaker 9 (31:13):
You have a solid backup if you're starting running back,
running back somehow can't play.
Speaker 8 (31:19):
They didn't have year.
Speaker 6 (31:20):
You need insurance. Let's running back.
Speaker 7 (31:22):
Let's go young and let's go get it. I mean,
and the head coach that they want to be explosive.
And I think the mixture of the gentleman that y'all mentioned,
Phil MafA bad Uh well Phil MafA, Jayden Blue and
Javonte Williams with a mixture of lifty Ceedee Lamb have
some touches in turpin. I think that it's gonna that's
gonna probably it's gonna be what gets the job done.
(31:43):
And I'm so glad that y've been talking about film MafA.
I I was happy when the past came on and
we got to see a little bit more of him.
It's still just stumping, but Doug, he is one of
those guys that people are going to as he gets,
as he matures and all those things, like people will
get tired of dealing with him in the game because
most of the time when he was getting tacked on
(32:03):
even in the games. Even in the games, there are
times where people are hitting him and he's still getting
five yards afterwards. He just has a tenacity and the
way he runs the ball, and he does have a
little bit more speed, like breakaway speed than I think
I initially thought as well, because people know him as
a thumper, but he also can put his foot in
the ground and go a bit, you know, so I'm
and also to I do, I will say that through preseason,
(32:26):
I think the pass protection from the back from the
young running backs has been pretty sound as well. And
I think that's a testament to the offensive line coach
Connor Riley and also Clayton Adams working with these guys.
Speaker 8 (32:37):
That's going to be an important disc upcoming year.
Speaker 10 (32:39):
Yeah, And to justice point, real quick buck, even a
veteran on practice squad, maybe the coaches are looking at
what we're looking at, but maybe they feel like Miles
Sanders is not going to get picked up on the
waivers as quickly as.
Speaker 8 (32:51):
For somebody else. Yeah, they showed to be they be
thinking like that. They'd be like, y'all can they do?
They know?
Speaker 7 (32:59):
They know what you know, people's market is and if
you see that in how they pay, you see them
in those things like that. So yeah, like this Hunter Lippy,
Let's not forget Hunter Liffey was fine for his freaking life.
That third preseason game is what really separated him and
now we look at him as someone that is intricate
to this offense at this point. So don't sleep on
(33:21):
this last preseason game and what it can do in
the conversation of the competition within some of these rooms.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
Yeah, ur, ladies, let's go next position, Let's go offensive line.
Speaker 5 (33:33):
This is fun.
Speaker 9 (33:34):
Jesus, I know me, Okay, So thanks Chris for that,
Tyler gott In, Tyler Smith, Cooper, BB, Terrence Still, this
is where things get fun. I have Nate Thomas, Bayelle Collins,
TJ Bass, Brock k Hoffman, and maybe a wild card
if there's like an extra roster spot.
Speaker 6 (33:56):
I'm gonna go to Austin Richards.
Speaker 9 (33:57):
We were kind of looking at the versatility last night
that Christy pointed out in the press box of Awesome
working at Tackle. So I think what I've seen from
Awesome is a confidence boost that he has desperately needed
to have more strength. I got to catch up with
him for a brief second yesterday and he talked about.
Speaker 6 (34:16):
Just feeling feeling.
Speaker 9 (34:20):
Good is not the word, but feeling confident, and so
I'm gonna I'm gonna keep that little extra spot. That's
why I was kind of down with the receivers because
I wanted to make that spot for Awesome.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
How many ones?
Speaker 8 (34:30):
Yeah, how many?
Speaker 5 (34:31):
I had a humans lunch had nine, five, six, seven.
Speaker 6 (34:34):
Eight nine nine.
Speaker 8 (34:36):
Okay, oh my got those.
Speaker 6 (34:38):
I mean, look, you can't have enough whole line.
Speaker 7 (34:40):
And listen, I will say, ladies, this is I can't
believe saying that.
Speaker 8 (34:45):
It's kind of weird.
Speaker 7 (34:45):
No, it's it's it's it's the backup off in some lineman.
I really feel like the things that I've seen from
Haakim A Dentergy and Sad Charles when he was playing, like,
you've seen some good things from your backups.
Speaker 8 (34:58):
To me, the way they've gotten on.
Speaker 7 (34:59):
The ball, working some of the double teams. The past
protection has been pretty clean, So for me, I mean,
I think Nate Thomas, we already know what tom it
is with him, so we know he's gonna be here.
Speaker 8 (35:12):
Brock Hoffman I think is important. TJ.
Speaker 7 (35:15):
Bast They're getting him some work at center and at guards.
Speaker 8 (35:18):
So geez muffins.
Speaker 7 (35:20):
Really, what I think it falls on is uh Cornelius,
who I think is a draft pick. I think he's
shown some good things at the tackle position, especially with
his athleticism getting out in space.
Speaker 8 (35:32):
I don't this is this.
Speaker 7 (35:33):
Is one of the tougher cuts because I do think
that the offensive line has been the depth has not
has showed up adequately in spots, especially when they're being
paired with the ones, like when they're feeling in and
things like that. The drop off right ladies, like wasn't
that low in camp from what I've seen, So I
don't know.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
Johnny Cornelius hasn't given up a pressure, by the way,
in two preseasons.
Speaker 8 (35:58):
I mean it's as a hard now, I do think.
I do think that Layou is maybe.
Speaker 7 (36:03):
A guy that is as a practice squad guy like
he is just a veteran that they have on there.
But those these veteran guys that they brought in I
think have filled in well. And then Hakeema Dentergy, he's
he's filled in for. Do they decide if they want
to keep him at their backup right tackle spot.
Speaker 8 (36:18):
Instead of Cornelius?
Speaker 7 (36:20):
Do they let Cornelius develop a little bit more so
they want to keep a Dentergy. I feel like he's
filled in well for Terrence Steel, like as the backup.
Speaker 8 (36:29):
Yeah, it's hard. This is a time. I'm not trying
to I'm not trying to stretch.
Speaker 10 (36:32):
It's one of the harder positions one because I went
back and forth for different reasons, and I think it's like, Okay,
the depth, Like I feel like they're going to try
to be more depth on who can not just who
can be more.
Speaker 8 (36:47):
Secure on the tackle side, in the guard side.
Speaker 10 (36:49):
That's what I'm looking at, a lot of depth in
the in the That's that's the that's the that's the
It's not necessarily who's out shining who. It's like, Okay,
what are you good at? What are you comfortable at?
What have you shown?
Speaker 8 (36:59):
You know?
Speaker 10 (36:59):
So I have Tyler guy in Tyler Smith obviously, Tyler Booker,
Terrence Steell, Nate Thomas, brock Kaffman, Hakeema Dentergy, and TJ.
Speaker 8 (37:07):
Bass. That's my nine that I rolled with.
Speaker 10 (37:09):
Awesome Richards I had originally, I just I don't know,
just going with the depth. I know he could play both,
but I just feel like he's where he can play.
Speaker 8 (37:20):
Is maybe where it's not. I don't know. I feel
like he's fading a little bit.
Speaker 7 (37:25):
No because of the death well Nate, I think Nate.
I think Nate, first of all, you you you went on,
you got TJ. Bass, you had brock k Hoffman, all
those things, so your interior again has built up like
you built up depth in the interior.
Speaker 8 (37:40):
But that tackle spot.
Speaker 7 (37:41):
You know, Nate Thomas coming in and kind of being like, hey, brother,
I know here last year, but uh, I was just chilling,
you know, I was just playing.
Speaker 8 (37:48):
You know I'm here.
Speaker 10 (37:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (37:50):
I think Nate Thomas coming in did change the conversation
of Austin Richards because, don't get it twisted.
Speaker 8 (37:54):
He hasn't not played well like there.
Speaker 7 (37:56):
It hasn't been just these terrible outings from Austin Richards.
It's just kind of hook the cookie crumbles. Does anybody
here do any of these veterans? See y'all, don't play
with me. Do any of these value.
Speaker 8 (38:07):
These these veterans?
Speaker 7 (38:08):
Can you hold any of them for ransom if you
need to, because there are teams that need Unfortunately, there's
a couple of guys that have starting reps, have started games,
have played well, decently, Serviceable is the word I use.
Speaker 9 (38:22):
The name of the game is winning in the trenches,
and everybody knows that that has become the not so
secret secret across the NFL. And having depth at the
O line and the defensive line is going to be
key for anybody in the NFL.
Speaker 7 (38:36):
So I don't think so your question, think anyone has any.
Speaker 9 (38:40):
I think this is a room you have to be
just intentional with everybody.
Speaker 6 (38:45):
Keep them all, keep them all well.
Speaker 4 (38:46):
Considering the injuries they in battle with the past two years.
I mean you you gotta make sure you do have depth.

but I want to still keep this thing going because
we can.
Speaker 3 (41:34):
All right, let's go with tight end.
Speaker 4 (41:36):
We start, we started, we started goodness receiver running back
off inter line.
Speaker 3 (41:40):
Now let's go tighten F three.
Speaker 5 (41:43):
Yeahn's kind of f three fergie h scoon h revin.
Speaker 8 (41:50):
I agreed. I think it's pretty short sweet on that one.
Speaker 7 (41:53):
Yeah, I'm not going over complicated.
Speaker 3 (41:55):
Look at you good, that's just good. Nah, y'all?
Speaker 8 (41:58):
Yeah, yeah, do you want me?
Speaker 3 (42:00):
All right? Cool, We're not gonna jump you.
Speaker 8 (42:02):
I've got mac jump.
Speaker 6 (42:05):
We didn't.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
All right, guy, she is fine, insane alright, d line.
Speaker 6 (42:14):
She's fine, but she's crazy.
Speaker 8 (42:15):
Defensive line. Well we end or detached the.
Speaker 11 (42:18):
End I have.
Speaker 6 (42:22):
That's gonna shoot three four? I have five?
Speaker 9 (42:26):
Five?
Speaker 6 (42:27):
What does everybody else have?
Speaker 8 (42:29):
You had five last year?
Speaker 3 (42:30):
I'm gonna go, oh, sir.
Speaker 17 (42:33):
Oh, we were no d n d n oh d
n sorry sorry five.
Speaker 6 (42:41):
Oh I was talking.
Speaker 3 (42:42):
I was had five last year.
Speaker 8 (42:43):
That's what I was doing.
Speaker 7 (42:44):
Okay, track and tracking, sorry, sorry, sir. You got Micah
Fowler kneeling m hmm is a rock who are locked
to me on.
Speaker 8 (42:54):
The edge agreed. After that, he gets.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
Wait, hold on, say you listen again.
Speaker 8 (43:01):
Ma'am Michael Dante.
Speaker 7 (43:04):
Oh we're doing defensive tackle, ohl.
Speaker 8 (43:08):
I said Michael Parsons.
Speaker 7 (43:09):
Michael Parsons, Fowler kneeling, and is Iraq.
Speaker 8 (43:13):
Who feel like a lock?
Speaker 6 (43:14):
Okay, so same.
Speaker 9 (43:17):
But between Sam Williams and James Houston, I think those
are the choice between the fifth and I can't make
that decision until after tomorrow.
Speaker 8 (43:29):
That's kind of how I think. It's exactly how I'm feeling.
Speaker 7 (43:32):
But I just I don't think they're gonna let go
of Sam. They're not, But James Houston is undeniable.
Speaker 8 (43:40):
Can they make room? Because that's my I have literally
his name in a question mark. That's what I work.
I don't think.
Speaker 7 (43:46):
I don't think you can. Just the natural ability to
rush the pastor like that is not something that just
people just be like, oh, I'm capable of doing this
because the sky's blue. Like he's very talented, and I
just feel like he could be such a disruptor and
a guy that you can put out there on passing
downs and really he can create his own stuff.
Speaker 8 (44:06):
But we've been saying this from jump. That's the room
that's stacked. And this is unfortunate when you got to
see somebody gonna get cut. That's gonna get cut, This
gonna get We don't want to share that this one though, But.
Speaker 7 (44:15):
You are in a I will say, it's difficult because
you are going to be in a phase with Sam
Williams where he still has to get his he still
has to get his legs under him. He still has
to get you know, And I don't know.
Speaker 5 (44:27):
I know that they love Sam, ny about Sam.
Speaker 9 (44:32):
Sam from what we saw, from what I saw yesterday
and Nicole, you were sitting there too, watching the temperament
needs to be handled a little bit more. There needs
to be more control with the temperament because, uh, that
can be a little explosive sometimes and I feel like
that can be costly in terms of penalties, setting your
team back and all of those things. So for me,
(44:53):
that's the one thing I would like to see more
out of Sam. I think skills wise, you know what
you have with Sam. You know he's working back from
that knee injury but looking great. He has the speed,
he has his tenacity like you were saying. But ultimately,
I think for me. When it comes to Sam, it's
always been the maturity that has been the issue for him.
(45:15):
But this coaching staff seems to love working with him
in that and so for me, I just want to
see a little bit more control because if you give
Sam that roster spot and he is not controlling that
temperament and getting you penalties and doing all that, then
that's really gonna PMO throughout the season.
Speaker 8 (45:34):
I like him crazy.
Speaker 9 (45:37):
I like crazy, but you need to control it, like
you need to be smart about it. You can be crazy,
but you need to be smart and not set your
team back.
Speaker 3 (45:44):
All right, defensive tackle?
Speaker 8 (45:46):
Huh oh?
Speaker 6 (45:48):
One two three?
Speaker 9 (45:49):
I have five one two three, I have five five Yeah,
I five.
Speaker 6 (45:54):
I have Osa Solomon, j Mazzi, Perion.
Speaker 7 (46:01):
Yeah, Osa Solomon, uh Perion, Winfree, j Tuya and Mazi.
Speaker 8 (46:06):
But even at that like that that that don't.
Speaker 7 (46:10):
Just don't take me off. It's gonna make me mad
because I'm gonna get up.
Speaker 8 (46:13):
To you not to and yours who do you have?
I guess I might have sleeve on this one.
Speaker 10 (46:18):
I just put Osa Solomon, Masi Perion way free is
what I had.
Speaker 8 (46:22):
So he had four they have four last year.
Speaker 17 (46:24):
Yeah, huh hates it what happened last Honestly, maybe with
the uh lack of confidence that I at least having them,
they would give us one more.
Speaker 7 (46:37):
What is the insurance, Well, yeah, I'm praying somebody do something.
What is the justification of of of of of the
other part? What is the justification of I mean, because
we talked about no, you're not gonna lie.
Speaker 8 (46:50):
I just hate it. I don't know they pick up
somebody who they're gonna be right.
Speaker 7 (46:56):
I mean, I feel like it's going right now for
a couple of dollars, like you need to do something.
I'm sorry, And I understand that the scheme.
Speaker 8 (47:04):
Don't get it twisted. I understand that there's a difference
in the scheme.
Speaker 7 (47:06):
They're gonna be asking the line linebackers to come in
and feel it's it's it's whatever. They're gonna be slating
stuff now, I got it. But there's no we need
a big human that knows how to be a big
human in the middle of the defense, even if they
even if the scheme is calling for them to get
up field and things like that, like you need stabilizers.
Speaker 8 (47:26):
I be tired. I know that I'm tired of him.
Being tired of the end of I'm tired.
Speaker 7 (47:31):
Of him being tired at the end of the year
because he doesn't have an adequate big human next to him. Now,
I do think Solomon Thomas is gonna take some weight
off of him.
Speaker 8 (47:38):
Awesome, but somebody do something.
Speaker 4 (47:42):
All right, well, somebody do something. We gotta go real
fast because Chris said, we got to be off by
one fifty.
Speaker 10 (47:49):
Cornerback wet Hello guy go who cornuarnerbacks.
Speaker 5 (47:54):
Flammed Cayer, Kaylin Izzy Zion Keemon.
Speaker 8 (48:02):
Is that everybody wants?
Speaker 5 (48:03):
Who? I have?
Speaker 15 (48:04):
Four?
Speaker 11 (48:05):
Five, six?
Speaker 8 (48:06):
Y'all have six?
Speaker 7 (48:07):
Okay, I'm gona switch. I'm a switch Keemon with Childress.
It just is what it is.
Speaker 8 (48:12):
Just let's do it. Let's do it. Yeah, I think
your list is good, but let's switch.
Speaker 6 (48:17):
I agree.
Speaker 8 (48:17):
I have childrens on mine as well.
Speaker 9 (48:19):
I was kind of thinking like they would think, you know,
yeah I would like.
Speaker 8 (48:22):
To see that. Yeah I would too.
Speaker 3 (48:24):
All right, well, ladies, has been fun.
Speaker 8 (48:26):
We gotta go poor.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
We'll get that. We'll get to that.
Speaker 8 (48:32):
Good jobase keep it up and linebackers, but.
Speaker 3 (48:38):
Ours, I'm the coll and we'll be back here next week.
Speaker 1 (48:42):
