Speaker 4 (01:00):
You heard? Wake up? Do you did the wake up?
Speaker 6 (01:06):
She did it?
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Wake up? Wake up? No, that's better for time. Wake up?
Speaker 6 (01:16):
Thanks, she entertains it. I do not.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
That's what wake God the energy?
Speaker 6 (01:22):
I like Christy. Week twelve, Okay, you're sick?
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Week twelve in the NFL football season, Cowboys Philly Cowboys
lead the all time series seventy four fifty nine, but
the Eagles have won three straight since, of course, twenty twenty.
Speaker 6 (01:38):
Four, and the Cowboys fall in week one.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
We mentioned it before yesterday, of course, and now they
have a chance to redeem themselves build off the momentum
that we saw of course against the Raiders. Let's start,
you know, obviously big picture Cowboys offense has been back
on track. What is the let's guess say, identity of
this Cowboys offense going into.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
Week twelve so far the y'all scene, that's a good question,
what is the identity? Appreciate that?
Speaker 5 (02:08):
Well, three weeks ago, Dak said they were still figuring
out to be fair.
Speaker 7 (02:12):
Which which is weird because you would think throughout the
season we've seen a pretty balanced attack with pass and run.
Shoty coming into the season said he wanted to be multiple.
I think that they have done that and the only
times they have struggled is when they could not.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
The ball.
Speaker 7 (02:30):
So I think the identity of the offense to this point,
what they wanted to be is to be able to
touch every every blade of grass and also be balanced
in a pass and run.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
That's what I think they want to be.
Speaker 6 (02:44):
That's what it looks like.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
That's what it looks like they've been able to do
last season, and I think that I think you one hundred
percent on it. The run game was the I don't know,
surprised the right word. We talked about the time. I
think it's a surprise and know what was We knew
what the coaching staff had done in their previous regimes
where they were, we saw what this team did last year.
(03:08):
We didn't know there was recognizable names, I guess in
the running back room, but there wasn't that elite, proven
person in Javonte Williams I think has their pass just
about every milestone you could have put in there. And
to your point, I said, from there was no lapse
or from the beginning. He just jumped out and they
just like damn, they got a running game. It went
(03:29):
away for a little bit for a couple different reasons.
You know, the old line, what was given on the
other side, slow starts, all that kind of stuff, and
then they got away from it.
Speaker 6 (03:40):
I don't know if it was.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
The Cardinals game or the game before, but I just remember,
like a couple.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Of drives they just didn't Broncos they weren't.
Speaker 5 (03:48):
Yeah, and on the other side, could have been a big,
a big deal about that in the middle. Who they
have on defensively could argue that too. But I have
a lot of confidence in this offense. I mean, they're
still at the top of the arts for damn near
every category for a reason. They're not gonna be perfect.
Speaker 6 (04:05):
No team is.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
But if you compare to who we're going up against,
I like, what's what's on our side rather it's f
other side. That's fair.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Dallas ranked sixth ranked Dolphins in total yards, second in
points per game, fifteenth rushing offense. But so far they're
clicking back to clicking how they were in the first
seven weeks of the season. There's gonna be a big
chess match, so to speak, just because this is a
Philly defense secondary that's vulnerable so to speak. Talk about
(04:34):
you know, Vic Fangio, Brian Schottenheimer, that play calling chess
match is gonna be fun.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
To watch as well. I want to touch on Shotty.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Because Christy actually asked a good you know question about
you know, going forward on fourth downs, being more aware
of kind of like the play calling aspect and situational football,
and it sounds like they want to be more aggressive
in terms of the play calling.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
Where you've seen and Shoddy grow the most.
Speaker 7 (05:00):
Well, I mean, I think coming out side of coming
out the bye was a big jump for him. And
then also too, I can't remember the only other team
that Dallas has played twice in the division is the Giants.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Correct.
Speaker 7 (05:13):
The only other team that Dallas has played twice this
are already is the Giants.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
This is so post you know, coming out the bye.
Speaker 7 (05:22):
I think it was important for Shoddy about mid season
as a new play caller because we were coming into
game one against Philly saying one of the only advantages
that Dallas has offensively is that no one knows this
offense yet. Well, you're, you know, through the season a
little bit now, so people are more.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Aware of what your offense is.
Speaker 7 (05:42):
Obviously, they were able to kind of hit Philly in
the mouth that first game. Obviously George Pickens wasn't going yet.
There was a lot of stuff that was still a
lot of moving parts still. But I believe like this
game will be a big test to answer your question,
Nicole for how Shoddy has improved, because this is a
really good Philly defense. They have seen, you know, your
(06:04):
offense before, but that was some time ago. There's been
changes on both ends, and this is mid season, so
they have more film to look at on It's not
often you get to play teams twice ex s out
of your division. They have an opportunity. Philly has an
opportunity to look at Dallas and we see we get
to see, like you said, the chess match of the
familiarity now and how Shody handles that in a big
(06:26):
divisional game.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
So I'm kind of still on the fence.
Speaker 7 (06:28):
I felt like last week we saw him get back
to a lot of the things that they have been
doing prior to tempo play action, you know, the misdirections
and all that stuff. But this game, to me is
the big test of, like how much you've improved since
Game one, Yeah, against Philly when you kind of came
out and surprised them because they didn't have any film
on it yet.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
You know that's fair.
Speaker 5 (06:50):
I feel like this year, compared to what we've seen
last year, he'd definitely come out the gate missing things up.
But I will say the defense, if it continues to
build on what we saw last week, I expect to
see trying to get more in his bag and be
more aggressive, because I think he was kind of getting
criticized there. I remember in the beginning there was a
game where they kind of folded a little bit, brought
(07:13):
Brandon Aubrey out, and then there was going to the
next game, he went far and forth, didn't get it,
and now you're behind to the Cardinals type of thing.
Speaker 6 (07:20):
I don't think.
Speaker 5 (07:21):
I think he's trying to figure out, especially in the
red zone. There was some stuff there too earlier in
the season. I'm like, eh, but I think it's a
lot because your defense puts you in a fold where
it's like, you know, if these boys come out, the
other teams won't score. So I got to give it
all that I can and not necessarily played safe. But
I think this defense is really going to change what
this offense can do. So like the identity of a team,
(07:44):
I'm excited to see going forward because I think it
totally changes if last week not to say as a fluke,
but it wasn't just because you had a lesser opponent
on the other side. It's because you have the pieces,
You have some dogs coming back, and you guys have
who we saw in there. When I speak of that
outside of Quinn Williams is the overshown's uh rubbeling there
as well, and seeing them start to wrap, ramp up
(08:07):
and fill in blands, keep stacking. I think it's pretty
exciting stuff, honestly to talk about.
Speaker 6 (08:13):
They just like flip the switch.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
It's amazing what you do when you go out there
and you add some dudes and then you get some
guys back.
Speaker 6 (08:19):
I think it's perfect.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yeah, talking about ramping up, there's a couple of guys
that I believe is this could just be a ramp up.
Speaker 6 (08:26):
Date from yesterday's practice report. Are you sure you want
to take it?
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah I didn't. I wasn't none.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Okay, second, this is why we're on a podcast.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
We got forty five minutes.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
Yeah. So, Uh, practice report from yesterday.
Speaker 7 (08:45):
Uh, Gideveon Clowney was limited with a shoulder slash neck injury.
Dante Fowler was limited with that shoulder he's been dealing
with because somebody tackled him.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (08:55):
Malie cooker Is was limited with the toe. I'm assuming
they just kind of, you know, slow play in him,
especially with him coming back. Dak Prescott showed up on
the practice report limited with a hip injury.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
It sounds like it's a bruise or sore hip. I
didn't know.
Speaker 7 (09:10):
I don't like it, but hopefully he's good to go.
Tyler Smith still dealing with that tonight as in his knee.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
He was limited.
Speaker 7 (09:16):
Solomon Thomas was upgraded to limited with the calf. Now
I know that it was a pretty simple practice, like
they didn't do anything flashy. He was just a walk through,
so not a whole bunch of way to that, but
still something to monitor. Donovan Wilson was limited with the
shoulder slash elbow, and parry On Winfrey with the back
was full, which is.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Still a good thing.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Yeah, you know a lot of limited guys there aside
from Dak because Shody didn't know yesterday that that was
just more so like a sore hip.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
So yeah, should be good there.
Speaker 6 (09:46):
That's what he has to say too.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
So I sure said to see how that unfolds. Just
no one's gonna say quarterbacks not doing good.
Speaker 6 (09:53):
Not good. So that scares me just a little bit, just.
Speaker 7 (09:56):
Because we have talked about the amount of hiss he's
been taking the content. I agree, and he only got
sacked one time last week, but that doesn't account for
the QB hits, the knockdowns, the things like that. And
you know, I think to go back to your question
that you asked earlier, Nicole about like this offense and
like how they're growing. You get your you got your
(10:16):
offensive line back together, This will be the second week
that you know, these guys are together. So we're hoping
that protections and stuff like that can be a little
cleaner to protect the quarterback because I'm sure that that
there's some conversations being had about it.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
He's the type of player of course he's gonna play this,
especially knowing everyone knows what the season is right now,
like these are these are the musk wins.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Get Yeah, they can't lose them.
Speaker 6 (10:40):
You don't want to see what happens. We kind of
know what.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
The picture looks like, right especially who's waiting for us
around the corner after failure. It's one wee get a time.
I can get ahead myself, but we know what's there
for this team because they put themselves in that predicament
going into by week.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
You did it to yourself And Dak even said that,
he was like, but we don't have the luxury to
take it.
Speaker 6 (10:57):
We know a week like we can't even think like that.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
No to what I was trying to like get to
with that, he's gonna be on the field, But my
fear is the defense that's coming up.
Speaker 6 (11:07):
They have to protect that because at the end of the.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
Day, he's going in there a little bang that regardless
if he comes out, I'm good, I've been good to
athletes are gonna be good and.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
They're gonna push through. But just I would hate for
it to get worse because.
Speaker 7 (11:21):
Yes, taking hits now yeah, like I mean, I mean
with a bruised tip, I mean it's probably just sores,
probably just irritated.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
But I'm but I know, I agree.
Speaker 7 (11:31):
You got to you gotta Philly defense that you're about
to go up against that has a strong front seven,
pretty good secondary. They've added some guys to that, added
some guys to that defensive line, and a Jalen Phillips.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
I think that was outside of the Quentin Williams trade.
Speaker 7 (11:45):
I thought there was one of the better trades of
you know, the trade deadline. He's a guy that's able
to get quick pressure. He can be a real problem
going up against Philly. The first time you didn't see
an edge player as good as a Jalen Phillips. That's
something that they were So that's a difference. Like you
were talking about breathe, that's a difference in their defense
(12:06):
and then also to their linebackers are really coming along
you guys, Zach Bond you got Jahad Campbell and you
also have Jelex Hunt who they blitz and they do
a lot of.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
This different stuff.
Speaker 7 (12:16):
So for me, I'm you know, protections, sliding protections, blitz pickups.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
You know, the communication with.
Speaker 7 (12:24):
This offensive line is gonna be important, not only because
the quarterback is banged up, but in order for this
offense to be able to operate, they need to operate
the way they need to operate to pass the ball,
pass protection has to be clean. And whereas it was
cleaner last week, we're still looking for them to keep
progressing in the right direction.

Absolutely.
Speaker 6 (15:54):
How thirty is this thing? I don't know.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
It's praty thirty any like vaulted into the ground. No,
don't get on the table. It's a heavy table though
about them. No, it's not voulted way, God, it's.
Speaker 9 (16:16):
I just feel like you have to have energy.
Speaker 6 (16:18):
All right, it's time to dive into this film.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
Are you shu.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
Inside?
Speaker 4 (16:24):
It's what you got girl, Big Fandel make me sick.
Speaker 6 (16:27):
Okay, that's the way the way it started.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
It's great. He's so good. He's so good man.
Speaker 7 (16:33):
I mean we've seen him multiple times, you know, come
in and take over programs. It's only a second year
with Philly, and the way they started was like lackluster
last year, and then in like middle of the season,
it was like, Oh, they're figuring it out. The you know,
just really what really sets this Philly defense apart is
their ability to get home with four and the fact
(16:54):
that they don't have to blitz, and that they don't
have to blitz and you know, one of the lower
blitz rates in the NFL, even against even against the
Lions last week, who you would think they would need
to blitz against. It's like, nah, we don't need to
do that. We're able to give pressure with four humans
up front. And obviously it starts with we talked about
Jalen Phillips, that big trade Jaylen Carter. One of the
(17:16):
bigger surprises is Ojomo you know, their interior defensive linemen.
What he's been able to do against the run and
also get some quick pressures on the interior. I think
that's made a heck of a difference. It's taking a
lot of pressure off of Nolan Smith, who when Godways
played them the first time was they're so real edgebrusher.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
So some things has changed for them.
Speaker 7 (17:37):
Like I talked about before, their linebacker core and what
they're able to do and stopping the run, and again
with their ability to get home with four, they're.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
Able to drop more guys and coverage, so.
Speaker 7 (17:47):
You'll see them go into a lot of nickel where
they have multiple dbs on the field and it's difficult.
You know, when you look at their numbers, you're looking
at all of the tight window throws. I mean, they
are one of the highest teams with passes defended. And
then what that lets me know is that they're forcing
you know, the pass rush is forcing the quarterback to
get rid of the ball when he doesn't want to.
(18:09):
And also is that they're forcing type window throws and
they're making plays on the ball. This is a Eagles
defense that will run. They have been running a little
bit more zone. They're gonna mix in some man. In fairness,
that's not something I think Dak Prescott is really afraid of.
Just being honest with you. I'm not trying to be,
(18:29):
you know, like too boastful about what Dak Prescott is
capable of doing.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
But that is something that is important.
Speaker 7 (18:37):
This Eagles defense is only giving up about twenty points
poor game. They've only they've only allowed seventeen points in
the last two weeks. So we see them really coming on.
And like I said before, a big difference in this
defensive line. Jalen Phillips six pressures last week alone. And
we know that that line's offensive line is a pretty
(18:59):
good units. So Dallas is gonna have to really come up.
They're gonna have to come out and be physical. I
think with this Philly defense, I think that that bat
on the trenches is gonna be one that is like
real rumbling, like real rumble with the Dallas offensive line
and the Philly defensive line.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
What do you ladies feel like about it?
Speaker 3 (19:18):
I can agree because I mean, you look at what
they did to Detroit, who is one of the best
rushing offenses in the NFL. Gives thirty nine rushing yards
Montgomery twenty seven rushing yards.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
It's gonna be a problem. And personnel wise, I mean,
we know this team.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
They've always had a big success in terms of their
interior defensive line. Their linebackers have always been good crashing
downhill as well. But my question to you was personnel wise,
who brings the biggest problem for this offensive line? Because
granted they did take somewhat of a step, but you
were playing the Raiders.
Speaker 6 (19:51):
You know what I'm saying. You have guys across the line.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
I taking sure they have guys across the board who
can win, you know what I'm saying, So who has
the biggest problem when you're talking about this Cowboys offensive line?
Speaker 7 (20:06):
I would think it's hard to not say the interior
because you have a Jalen you know, you have a
Jordan Davis, a Nodamall, a Jalen Carter, you know. But
I really think that battle between Jalen Phillips and Terrence
Steele is going to be pivotal. I think it's gonna
be very important in this game because again, this is
(20:27):
a new guy.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
You know, you got to get a new feel for him.
Speaker 7 (20:29):
You got to see how they're obviously with his usage
and stuff, he's had an instant impact, just like Quinnin
Williams on this Philly defense. So for me, I think
that for this defensive line, with this offensive line, dealing
with another pass rusher is going to be a handful.
And you know last week what the Cowboys did, They said,
We're not gonna let mix Crowsby beat us. You know,
(20:52):
at the beginning of the game, it seemed like he
was kind of getting free, gave the tackles some issues
at times, and Dallas just sent running backs tight ends,
you know, just completely consistently. Even the guards helped with
the tackles a little bit in pass protection to make
sure he didn't beat them. That might be something that
you see also here with Dallas is that you know,
(21:13):
if they want to get some plays downfield, especially against
this secondary that's feisty, they're going to have to either
get the ball out quickly or they're going to have
to set up protections that are going to give them
the time to operate downfield a little bit more and
wear on these guys. So the run game is gonna
be very important as well. It's establishing that.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
I think the scary part about the Eagles defense is
they're getting better when it's time to get better.
Speaker 7 (21:37):
They got to because they offense just be different decorations
that ain't right and you're sick, but they do just
another so we can hate, but it's working.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
No, I mean, they know how to win games.
Speaker 7 (21:48):
I think Nick Sirianni does not get enough credit for
his ability to I'd like that coach through close games.
Speaker 5 (21:55):
Yes, I like that kind of like Eagles were averaging
thirteen pressures per game in the last two weeks. Packers
seventeen pressures, Lions sixteen pressures.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
And I think watching the little I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 5 (22:07):
The scoring was putting me to sleep a little bit,
have time, took a little snooze, But what I did see,
and I think that impressed me the most. Of what
they did to Jared Goff. We know Jared Goff likes
the middle of the field. We know he's best at
play action. They took both of those things away by bat.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
It passes that I wrote that down. That's a fantastic I.
Speaker 5 (22:25):
Heard of Vic Fangio talking about, you know, like how
do you how do you game plan for that?
Speaker 6 (22:31):
Like you know, like does that just happen? Is that simple?
Speaker 5 (22:34):
I told my guys just keep their hands up, literally literally,
like keep the hands up, like you said, they're getting home,
keep your hands up. The other thing you've mentioned with
Vic Fangio, you can't stand him. I can't stand Howie
Roseman because the latest man hits defensively in the draft.
It's like a crazy number. Like if you look at
the starters on defensively for the Eagles right now, I
(22:58):
think there's three that weren't drafted the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
That's insane.
Speaker 5 (23:02):
And I looked up this stat and it said the
total this is going before they made the trade and
brought in Jalen, But outside of Jalen, the total cash
value on defense going to twenty twenty five was seventy
five million dollars, forty percent less than the league average.
So when we talk about money and defense, I remember
(23:22):
we were talking about just the interior.
Speaker 6 (23:24):
It's like over one hundred mil right there.
Speaker 7 (23:27):
They have everybody in beside Jalen rookie deals sick.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
It's cheap.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
And so now I was talking to somebody just yesterday
about this and it's like, you know, our team suffering.
Speaker 6 (23:38):
Because we got to pay our quarterback. That's what everybody
has to pay their quarterback. But it's like cheap labor
on defense. You get to pay those spicy guys. On offense.
Speaker 5 (23:49):
They got there, even though it's not working right now.
They have some and that's the frustration on their end.
They're paying two receivers top dollar, and of course Jalen
Hurts has his money, but everybody's minimum way defense. And
they were at the Super Bowl, and as much as
we talking about the offense, now they're super.
Speaker 6 (24:04):
Bowl contenders again, yep.
Speaker 5 (24:05):
And it just feels like they found they found the
recipe and if you look at our side, we just
keep missing defensively in the draft. And it's you talk
about Vig Fangio. I'm looking at Howie Roseman like, can
we get some cheat sheets or something over here, because yeah,
it seems like that's what the recipe is to win.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
No.
Speaker 7 (24:22):
Yeah, this that that defense for Philly is predominantly homegrown,
like you mentioned, and you.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
Know they're having a hell of a year. I mean Quinion.
Speaker 7 (24:30):
Mitchell, uh you know, in the in the Dallas game,
I believe he got banged up in that game. I
don't know if it was a groin or a quad,
but I think he got a little banged up in
that game. But he and uh so, I mean the
way that he's played this year, you know, defending no
more on receivers.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
Courtland Sutton not a TD.
Speaker 7 (24:49):
A Mickeyabuka not a TD, Devontae Adams not a TD
on him. Justin Jefferson not a TD, George Pickens not
a TD. That's gonna change, Christian Watson not TD. Jordan
Addison didn't have a touchdown, Jamison Williams didn't have a touchdown.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
I mean, you don't see.
Speaker 7 (25:07):
Lockdown corner like that in the NFL anymore. It's you
see guys, like even the best guys get beat like that.
This guy has, you know, really stay true to what
we thought he was gonna be coming out the draft.
As you know, one of the best press man corners.
He's very aware. Cooper dejen Is, you know, a guy
that they're using in the slot sometimes he's been effective.
(25:28):
Doorri Jackson probably will be the weak point of that
of that defense when you decide to go when they
kind of get into that nickel. I expect for Dallas
to take advantage of that with Ceedee Lamb and some
of those guys. But again, you know, you got linebackers
that can cover. They have a very good rotation.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
Of linebackers as well.
Speaker 7 (25:47):
And then even from the safety group, you know Reblank
and Ship he's their worst safety, I guess if you
want to say, as you watch them just with the
athleticism and stuff, and he's still very good. And you know,
so it's like there's not a lot of space to
make make mistakes with this defense, and what are the
(26:09):
ways that I think Dallas is going to have to
attack them?
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Number one?
Speaker 7 (26:12):
You know, George Pickens was not a part of this
offense yet. He was not integrated into this offense. You know,
him being threatening wasn't there yet. So I'm really looking
at how Dallas uses him in this game and if
they decide to go to him early, if they decide
to you know, go attack that secondary early, or if
(26:33):
they really gonna you know, hit their heads against the
wall with the with running the ball and see how
that does, how that fares for them against this Philly defense.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Yeah, that's what I was gonna mention ask you, you
know you ask you, ladies, is how much more involved
do you need a guy like George Pickens? Because this
is a guy who, you know, Clayton Adams even talked
about it, I believe it was before Broncos or maybe
the week before and said that we were waiting to
see what he was able to do. Right, He wasn't
the guy that you can move across the line of
(27:01):
scrimmage and play him everywhere, so to speak.
Speaker 6 (27:05):
But you know he's.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Grown obviously, first down king, second leading receiver in the
NFL right now, winning his one on ones run after catchability.
How big will George Pickens be in this matchup?
Speaker 4 (27:17):
Huge.
Speaker 7 (27:18):
I mean he I think he's gonna be huge again
when you're talking about it. Philly defense that you know
does run a lot of zone at this point. You know,
these these receivers finding some of these soft spots in
these zones.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
Especially dealing with this.
Speaker 7 (27:33):
One thing that's really cool about about George Pickens is
that I think he catches a lot of corners off
guard with like how sneaky his speed is and how
elusive he is. And I think that's gonna be important
to come into play if you're trying to get yards
after catch against this team. This is a very good
tackling team, very good tackling team. It is difficult to
get yards after catch with them. And that's something we've seen.
(27:56):
We've seen George Pickens really add to his game since
he's been here in Dallas.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
Is something he thrives off of. I also too, I'm
looking for.
Speaker 7 (28:06):
The thing is is that I'm worried about your receiving
options being limited when it comes to the tight end position,
and like a Jake Ferguson, because they gotta help with
the offensive line. I really like Dallas is gonna need
with them dropping into this nickel with them having so
many receiver receivers, corners and coverage, it's gonna be important
(28:26):
that Dallas establishes the run as well. And this is
a Philly defense that's held running backs to only four
yards to carry this season. Javonte Williams is averaging just
about five. What's gonna give? Because you know Dallas is
gonna have to stay ahead of the sticks with this,
with this Philly defensive line in their front seven, how
do you expect for Dallas to run the ball in
(28:48):
this game?
Speaker 4 (28:48):
And what is it gonna look like a little bit more?
Speaker 7 (28:51):
How I would? Yeah, I would or Malie Davis as well,
who felt like I felt like he had a little
pop behind his paths when he was playing as well.
I mean, this is a deep that I think you
need an explosive threat. Also, I think Javonte Williams is
fantastic with power, but that this defensive line to me,
is gonna welcome that They're gonna welcome like, yeah, the
physicality who from the running back position is gonna be
(29:13):
able to hit them in the mouth and be explosive.
This is a game where Dallas lacking that really does
kind of suck to me.
Speaker 5 (29:21):
I like to win Shotenheimer yesterday because he was basically
asked about every level of defense, and when he was
talking about the run game, you know, like it's gonna
like you just said, it's gonna be important for us
to establish the run game early. But that's no easy
task to what this, especially when you're talking about in tier.
And he said on both sides of the ball, Like
he's like, I like what we got, but also like,
look at what they have on their side. It's gonna
(29:43):
be the same task on both ends in his beinion.
And then he was just like he just ended. He
was like, it's gonna be tough, and they were like,
and they're asked about the linebackers and he like laughed.
Speaker 6 (29:50):
Because he's like, they're good too.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
Yeah, And then he went to the then he went
to Dv's talking about He's like, I think he's, if
not one of the best, he is the best owner
in the league right now. So to your point though,
talking about when we're talking about Pickens, I think it's
kind of interesting how this I always I don't know
how to explain it, in the fact that we have
two number one receivers and it's starting to feel a
(30:13):
lot more like that. I wasn't really bought into it
when Pickens first came, not that I didn't think he
was good.
Speaker 6 (30:19):
I just thought he was a true wide receiver too.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
But what I've seen since CD has gotten back from
his injury is CD is almost like a decoy distraction
and allows Pickens, like you said, to confuse some of
these corners. And I like the fact our ski mask
brothers are embracing it, and it seems like at least
(30:42):
and I hope it continues, because I know they're both competitors.
Speaker 6 (30:46):
Right and CD. This is this is CD's offense. But
there's some there's some chirp that you know, Pickens is
right there.
Speaker 5 (30:54):
With them, you know what I mean. And that's and
I like how it's embraced. I I like how it
doesn't feel like there's an egos. I like that they're
getting in trouble together, if you will, they ride for
each other, like this is like a true.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
Like brotherhood that they're building.
Speaker 5 (31:06):
Because I think you're gonna need that going forward, because
this week CD might have to you know, be the distraction,
if you will, and let Pickens pop off, and then
the next week the other team's game planning for George
Pickens and then CD can do and I hope that's
like a balance, but I think so far it's been
kind of the opposite.
Speaker 7 (31:24):
See I've had to make a point because he he
I'm sure he carried a lot of guilt for game one,
you know, I think he had like one hundred and
twenty yards. Yes, that was his droppy, droppy game, which
and he still was very productive in that game. See,
you not scared of George Jackson. I'm just gonna let
y'all know right now, ceed you don't care about no,
Dori Jackson, ce D don't care about no. He really
(31:46):
don't care about you know, Reblanken Ship or Cooper Gagen.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
He really don't.
Speaker 7 (31:51):
Because he was very productive in that first game. And again,
that was the offense's first time out there. This is
Brian schottennaimer, first time play call it, first time play
head coach, play caller for this team, and they came
out there and they were pretty effective as an offense.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
He was wide open.
Speaker 6 (32:07):
Yeah, I was gonna say it had nothing to do
with play call, had nothing to do.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
It was just it was ro running straight up. Yeah,
rock running.
Speaker 7 (32:14):
So I think to your point, I know like they
are kind of playing this like you hear you hear
you know. You open up the offense in this way,
you open up the office in this way. But I
if I think I know CD Lamb a little bit.
He's coming into this game wanted to redeem himself from
the drops that he had in game one, because there
are a lot of folks who in me included, who
(32:34):
think if he caught some of those passes, maybe that
is a w instead of a loss on your first
week of the season.
Speaker 5 (32:41):
Bruing against this kind of defense, that's the thing, because
they getting better drops away from.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
You can't make mistakes, you don't have room.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
That's why when I was seeing something like the slow
start bothered me so much against the Writers.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
One because I was nervous.
Speaker 6 (32:55):
I was like, what are we doing?
Speaker 5 (32:57):
But two is because I was like thinking about it's hard.
Speaker 6 (33:01):
It's the players.
Speaker 5 (33:02):
Yes, one week at a time, you want to go
one note, but it's hard to just stay focused because
I'm like, if y'all doing this against.
Speaker 6 (33:10):
This team.
Speaker 5 (33:12):
Next week is going to say and it's just you're
getting like two. I would argue two of the most
physical teams up front. The next back to back.
Speaker 4 (33:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (33:22):
Yeah, that's why I was like, that can't if that happens,
I don't want to see what happens. I don't think
this is a team that can play from behind regardless
of how good the offense is, because of what the
defense is bringing you.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
What matchup scares y'all the most? All of him? Please
get in You weren't.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
The most.
Speaker 7 (33:45):
I just think it's I think it's the offensive line
in the in the defensive line in general. I think
you know obviously too. They blitz their linebackers, not super often,
but it's effective when they do. Nikobe Dean has been
a tear in the run since he's got back. They're
only allowing like eighty four yards a game on the ground.
I mean so, I mean Dallas is really gonna have
(34:07):
to work for pretty much everything very much that they
that they get in this game. And also too very important,
I want to say something is very important. The Cowboys
ball protection has.
Speaker 4 (34:18):
Been kind of nim We haven't we know what we haven't.
We haven't really harped on it, y'all.
Speaker 7 (34:28):
We haven't really harped on it a whole bunch this season,
but there's been several times little spurts during this season
where we've seen Jake fer Jake Ferguson caffada. We've seen
Javonte caff it up. We saw Dak cough it up
last week. We've seen like we've seen Javonte Williams cafida.
My god, this is a defense that's gonna that will
punch this ball out.
Speaker 4 (34:48):
Six six forced fumbles on the year, and.
Speaker 7 (34:51):
They have recovered seven of them. They are not afraid
to get on the ground, all hats to the ball
and cause turnovers and so I I mean that's something
that's important as well, is like ball protection, ball security
in this game when you're going up against a defense
that wants to turn the ball over and get the
(35:11):
ball to the.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
Offense and yeah, yeah if the offense.
Speaker 6 (35:16):
They also have six interceptions this season.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Yeah yeah, yeah, which is tied for seventeenth in the NFL.
Speaker 6 (35:24):
Football.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
Yeah, they have.
Speaker 7 (35:25):
But I will say that you know, this defense, as
good as they are, they will give up yardage.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
They will give up yardage. You can drive the field
on them.
Speaker 7 (35:33):
They tighten up in the red zone, one of the
better red zone teams in the NFL, of course, but
you will be able to drive the length you can
drive the length of the field. I think special team
is gonna be important. Camante Turpin has not been as
effective as a returner as of late.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
How does he fare?
Speaker 7 (35:50):
And getting the Cowboys in better starting field position because
they're gonna have little room for air, they can't have
those pre snap penalties, they can't have those mistakes.
Speaker 4 (35:58):
They play better at home in that regard. They're going
to have to.
Speaker 7 (36:01):
Be able to sustain drives, which easier said than done.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
But yeah, y'all are y'all? Okay, so hear me what
y'all think about? Obviously we were expecting Turping to be Yeah,
receiver three four. You know what I'm saying, what's happened there?
Speaker 6 (36:24):
We're not gonna laugh off the turf train just for now.
I'm so sorry. It's week twelve, Like, so you're done.
Speaker 4 (36:33):
She can't help it.
Speaker 6 (36:35):
I mean, I just are you moving to computer like that.
Speaker 5 (36:41):
Pessimistic bre is back Listen, it's just not there. I'm
just I'm done talking about it until I see it.
To be honest, I mean, we we're just like okay,
and the injury, Okay, all these guys got injuries. It's
the NFL like I'm sorry, it's just not working out.
Speaker 6 (36:55):
Yes, he's a he's a different type of player on
special teams.
Speaker 5 (36:58):
When you're talking about trying to mix them in and
seeing some things that are working and not working, it's
just not working.
Speaker 6 (37:03):
I don't know what it is.
Speaker 5 (37:05):
I know Seannenheimer said the bye week they were able
to sit down and look at the film more than
I don't know what they saw, but it's just not working.
And I think you saw them go to liftkey a
lot more last game, and that was That's fun. That's
fun to watch, and I expect to see more of that.
I still got my I'm still on the BREVN Span
(37:25):
FOURD joints.
Speaker 4 (37:26):
Oh, I'm not gonna.
Speaker 6 (37:27):
I'd love to see that one day as well.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
But that's important.
Speaker 5 (37:31):
That's important, and I think other people have you know,
Flow gets one target last game and it's a touchdown.
Speaker 6 (37:37):
I just feel like other.
Speaker 5 (37:38):
People are doing things more consistently when you ask in
those big moments, and I mean a lot of respect
for Turban, it's just not clicking right now. And you know,
do you have the answer why, because I don't. I
don't want to hear nothing about this injury.
Speaker 7 (37:52):
No no, no, I think Dallas. You know, Cavante Turbin
has never been a traditional wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (37:57):
He's never been.
Speaker 7 (37:58):
Unfortunately, he was labeled as like gay type thing.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
You see.
Speaker 7 (38:03):
I think any coach that sees the speed and the
suddenness is going to try to figure out how to
put that into an offense because it is something that
you know, defenses struggle with. He was also he's also
been kind of your motion man, your guy that creates
spacing because people respect his speed. But unfortunately because of
(38:23):
his size and things like that. You deal you're talking
about the contact he's taking as a receiver, some of
those plays over the middle of the field, I know
where you don't want talk about it, but the foot injury.
You know, like there's multiple things that I think play
into it. Where I'm at with it is that they
tried it. Yeah it didn't work.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
That's okay, Go.
Speaker 7 (38:44):
Focus on being the best special teams player you can be,
because the Cowboys need him to be more efficient as
a returner as he was. You know, like that is
that's that's really you know, one of the like the
biggest basis of why he was paid is because you
are one of the most dynamic returners in the game,
and you set this offense up against the defense like
(39:07):
this where you want a short field as much as
you can get one. And so that's where I'm at
with it. They tried it, it didn't work. It is
what it is. Ryan Flinoyd gives you so much on
being able to be physical, being able to block.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
On the outside, be able to be a red zone threat.
Speaker 7 (39:23):
He can touch every blade of grass like is a
He's impressive as well, and also too, he's a fast guy,
so you're not You know, he may not be Cavant
Turpin fast, but you still have a receiver that has
some speed to add to this wide receiver course. So
that's my answer to you, is that I think they
tried it. It just didn't work out. Catch radius, all
that stuff, size, all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
You got a guy, all right, we're gonna take second
break here on girl star boards.
Speaker 6 (39:49):
So we gotta breathe with the receipt, come home.
Speaker 4 (39:54):

Welcome back in the Girl Star Boys stock presenter buying
visit line. Nicole Hudgerson, Breonna Aldridge, Aisha Morrison. And we
want to just correct something real fast. Not Cowboys Eagles. Sorry,
got excited. Eagles have allowed one hundred and fourteen rushing
yards a game that ranks nineteenth in the NFL.
Speaker 6 (42:42):
And I used to watch.
Speaker 7 (42:43):
Yeah, and but since Nikobe Deane's return, there are six
in the NFL only allowing eighty four yards. So yeah,
him and Zagbond together are terror So that's we definitely
want to make sure we corrected that for you guys.
Speaker 5 (42:56):
But Brie, yes from the locker room, got to hear
from some guys. The big talk is, you know, you
guys took care of business. We knew it was gonna
be emotional game Monday night in Vegas on the road
for obvious reasons, but they handled business.
Speaker 6 (43:12):
So how do they keep doing this? Going forward?
Speaker 5 (43:16):
Twelve days, three games? That's hard for any NFL team
win or lose. How your season's going staying healthy. But
the Cowboys injury report that we went over a couple
segments ago is looking pretty decent. I think probably obviously
Dak with his hip in Solomon Thomas seeing if he's
able to go in to add some much need to
depth coming into this game. But the guys say that
(43:38):
the momentum is riding in the right place.
Speaker 11 (43:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (43:42):
No, this is my first time and I feel like
we're playing some of the best teams on our schedule
at this point in time. So we just got to
stay LOUTDW and keep stacking wins and just find a
way to play like we play Monday night every game.
Speaker 2 (43:53):
You know, we want to carry this momentum with us,
you know, throughout the duration of the season. We got
a big win a couple of days ago. Now it's
to earn the page and you know, handle Philadelphia. But
I think the biggest thing, you know, in turms of honoring,
you know, our brothers, just you know, make sure we
attack every day the way we know we can, because
you know, time is precious and honestly, you know it's
a God Gaven opportunity. So I think every dude understands
(44:14):
that an every dude wants to come in here and
work the right way towards our goals.
Speaker 14 (44:17):
It was great just being able to have that energy
and locker room after a big win. That's something that
we want to chase in strive for every single week.
So I'm definitely glad we were able to get a win.
I'm looking forward to striving to get one this weekend.
Speaker 5 (44:29):
Have boys back into the win column. And I think
ladies and you guys probably agree. And we know what
it's like to play at home, the difference and how
they've been playing better at home this season for the
for the most part, but also the emotions that I
saw Monday night on the road. I can just see
that being that much stronger coming back at home. And
(44:52):
Schottenheimer kind of talked about possibly honoring our having Neeland's
family come out and things like that, which I'm sure
we'll see. But it's gonna be different like they brought
the jersey into somebody else's when you're the visiting team,
like this is their home, that is Leyland's locker is
established in there, right, It's going to hit a little hard,
and I expect the emotions to be even stronger than
(45:12):
what we saw and then we just broke down the
Eagles defense, and like I said, shoddy yesterday had some
laughable you can only laugh at some like they gotta
play good.
Speaker 6 (45:21):
There's like they got some dudes.
Speaker 5 (45:23):
I don't know what you want me to say, but
he was talking about kind of the battle upfront, so
I wanted to play that for y'all as well.
Speaker 15 (45:31):
They put the pressure on the offensive line to feel
like they have to use combination blocks. Well, then when
the linebackers, which again Philly's got you know Zach and
seventeen what's his name? Sorry, Yeah, A great player, Dean.
I mean great player. I mean those guys that come
downhill fast, and then you know Campbell, the rookie. I mean,
(45:53):
they put the pressure on you because when they fire
into their gaps, you can't stay on the singles or
the double teams, and the singles become they get split.
But I think it's it's really a it's really problem.
It's a problem on both both sides, and that's what
you want. You want to have a firm and strong
front seven, and they have definitely shown to be able
(46:14):
to do that.
Speaker 4 (46:17):
I love his honesty, yeah, because he ain't lying. I like,
I like that he is like, this is a problem.
This is hard to handle.
Speaker 7 (46:27):
These linebackers coming down, coming downhill and filling their gaps
that you know, Dallas has thrived in double teams, Like
that's how they're there. They run the ball effectively, and
if you got guys that can split it, well, I
has got one of those.
Speaker 6 (46:40):
Now, I know.
Speaker 7 (46:41):
But when you got guys that can split it like
this Philly defense can, yeah, good night. Like protection is
dont have to be as clean as a possibly can.
Speaker 5 (46:49):
And he made a good point to towards the end
of his press conference and said, and everybody's been talking
about the offense, He's like, I'm not looking at this
as a struggling offense. I'm looking at them who have
a running back who can still be elite and it's
doing the league things I'm looking at. And he kind
of compared the duo here wide receiver wise, even though yeah,
it hasn't clicked consistently on the other side, He's like,
I'm still looking at those two as who can hurt
(47:11):
you if you give up too much grass, And this team,
outside of last week, has given up a lot of grass.
Speaker 4 (47:16):
Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 7 (47:17):
I described if I was gonna describe it, and I
wanted to say I was thinking about it last night.
Speaker 4 (47:20):
I don't want no body to think that.
Speaker 7 (47:21):
Yesterday I was saying that Phillies offense can't play cause
don't get it twisted. We gotta break them down. But
they're still I would consider them predictable, disjointed, but still
very explosive, still very explosive. It looks like again like
their co route combinations and all that stuff.
Speaker 4 (47:39):
You know, it's not pretty.
Speaker 7 (47:41):
But when they let Jalen Hurts kind of take his
head out of it, kind of like just go play
like backyard ball. This is an offense that still can
really play some football. And again you mentioned.
Speaker 4 (47:52):
It, Brie.
Speaker 7 (47:52):
They know how to win games. They have a head
coach that knows how to win close games. So I'm
not good. I don't, I don't.
Speaker 4 (47:59):
I'm not gonna sit it on no time.
Speaker 7 (48:01):
That's why saying I'm not gonna sit a paranac like
their offense is just you know, or whatever. But to
hold the Lions offense to three of thirteen on third
down last week insane, all of five over the fourth
Jamiir Gibbs was running into brick walls.
Speaker 4 (48:14):
I said, all right, well.
Speaker 6 (48:16):
Jared, well, well problem live Grande or the lottest.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
Cowboys some most Cowboys's a big problem for the Cowboys
come Sunday. Hopefully the Cowboys can, you know, of course,
build on the momentum as we've been talking about this
entire show.
Speaker 6 (48:36):
Big stretch for them.
Speaker 3 (48:37):
They got cow they got Eagles, they got Chiefs, they
got Minnesota.
Speaker 6 (48:41):
My goodness, is this the hardest game?
Speaker 4 (48:43):
No, I think.
Speaker 3 (48:46):
You have a desperate Chiefs team coming.
Speaker 7 (48:49):
I'm talking about talent wise, Oh, talent wise, this is
the hard that's hard. I think this is the hardest
game out of all those guys at the Lions and
the Chiefs personally. From a like matchup standpoint stuff, I
think Dallas match up way defensively, I think, yeah, yeah,
maybe defense.
Speaker 6 (49:06):
I think it's gonna be the biggest test for the offense.
Speaker 4 (49:08):
I will say that that's the biggest pest and that's
what you leaning on.
Speaker 6 (49:12):
Yeah, all right, Well.
Speaker 4 (49:16):
Will spend me now by Oi, you're done for the day.
Speaker 6 (49:22):
It's a ripe for the show for Nicole.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
I just said, Rihanna Aldrich, Aiusha Morrison. We'll see y'all
back here tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (49:29):
This has been a production of dallascowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club
