Speaker 6 (00:57):
I missed you last week. I missed you last week.
Got time?
Speaker 1 (01:07):

All right?
Speaker 6 (01:08):
You full of it? Glen to start the show.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Feeling, y'all. I need some more energy, I think.
Speaker 6 (01:16):
Yeah, I've seen.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
When you walking her a little.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
It's windy.
Speaker 6 (01:25):
This gross outside like that.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
It's fine.
Speaker 7 (01:27):
It's not gross inside though you won't know why because there.
Speaker 6 (01:31):
Just you know what I mean? She made it. It
was off camera.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
And you're life.
Speaker 7 (01:36):
Actually yeah, basketball, it was tennis.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
But anyways, Brian, you.
Speaker 6 (01:43):
Would never know about that.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I've been in the nail on. Uh. Yeah. The coaching
staff is fire, they're excited.
Speaker 7 (01:50):
We got a chance to listen to pretty much all
of them. If anyone wants to go through the coaching
staff and just read that so everyone knows, because of
course people don't.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
A lot of new humans.
Speaker 6 (02:01):
That's a lot of this roster.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
I'm gonna let you do it.
Speaker 6 (02:04):
Oh then yeah, yeah, you want to read it.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Yeah, Okay, I'm about to say somebody.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Because you're going to mess it up. Okay.
Speaker 5 (02:14):
So you got Clayton Adams that's coming over from the
Arizona Cardinals as the offensive coordinator. He has seven years
of experiencing the game Junior Adams is. He just came
over from Oregon. He will be coaching the wide receivers.
You have Ramon chen Young I believe, who is the
assistant offensive line coach. Ken Dorsey comes over from Cleveland
(02:37):
as the past game specialist. He's gonna be doing things
with the quarterbacks. I'm a so many and things like that.
Ryan Fetter Barnacles. Uh, he's a game management coordinator thank god.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
All right, dere dere.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Feeder, thank you.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
You know you have Delay Garding is he's the QB fellowship?
What is that?
Speaker 4 (03:04):
Sorry, we're trying to figure.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
All right, okay again, Derek Foster is gonna be taking
over as the running backs coach. You have Connor Riley
as the offensive line coach. He comes over from Kansas State.
Steve Shimpko, who was actually president here last year, is
getting a little bit more of an opportunity to work
with the quarterbacks this year. I think last year he
(03:26):
was more of like a consultant or something of that nature.
He comes over from Boston College. I liked what he
did with their offensive line. There Ti Kwan Underwood assistant
wide receivers coach, Lunda Wells.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
We already know.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
Who is the tight ends coach. Then we get to
Matt Eberflus who takes over as a defensive coordinator. I
think his last tenure was what with the Bears prior
to that, he's with the Colts, Brian being the assistant
defensive line coach. You have Dave Borzonga Borgonzi there is
(03:59):
no there. Ayisha as the context over as the linebacker coach.
You have JJ Clark as a defensive assistant slash quality control.
Andre Curtis is gonna be the defensive passking coordinator and
also be working with the safeties. You have David Overstreet
who will be the secondary slash corners coach. He comes
over from the Bears. Andre Curtis comes over from the
(04:20):
Bears as well. Tanzil Smart. I think that's okay. Defensive
assistant quality control. Darien Thompson. Who's the safety Nicholas Darien Thompson.
You are funny.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
You are funny? How is he? I? You know what?
Speaker 5 (04:34):
Do your thing? Big dog? Come on to be a
former player and to become a coach and to survive
in some sense multiple coaching staffs. Come on, Darien, I
see you, big dog. Aaron White Cotton is gonna be
the defensive line coach. He comes over from the Jets.
I'm very excited about that.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Higher.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
By the way, when you get down to special teams,
you have Nick sours And as a special team coordinator
Pray Saints, Carlos Polk assistant special team coordinator. He's in
his second year. And then the strength and conditioning coaches.
Tyler Boyle's Bulls Bulls Boy Bulls boiled bland. Sorry, you
(05:12):
know what, Chief of Staff Harold Nash is going to
be the Strength and Conditioning coordinator, Cedric Smith, the assistant
strength and Conditioning Kendall Smith, who is another person just
he's returning as well as the assistant strength and coordinator
strength and Conditioning coordinator in Braylen Tatum as the assistant
Strength and coordinating in Sports and Science. So this is
a lot of change really quick. I'm glad that they
(05:33):
were able to get it done before draft, and so
you know, these guys can kind of get acclimated and yeah,
so a lot of new faces in the building, my friends.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
There's a lot of.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Things that were No.
Speaker 8 (05:46):
I was just saying a lot like I think the
press release that was sent was like seventeen new assistant coaches.
So it's like we're gonna struggle to say some of
these new names for a.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Little bit as a girl.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
Yeah, I'm sorry, but yeah, no, this is this is
the start of something then yeah, yeah, right, well how
do you guys feel about it?
Speaker 6 (06:02):
It was giving high school musical it's the start.
Speaker 8 (06:06):
Yeah, all right, Well, if.
Speaker 9 (06:12):
You get it, you get it for me, it's yeah,
I mean I figured if you were starting with a
new head coach, it would be kind of a new
era for the Cowboys. And naturally, you know, in this business,
like you kind of saw with Dan Quinn, a lot of.
Speaker 6 (06:24):
People will follow suit, so I would.
Speaker 9 (06:26):
I was kind of interested to see how some of
these McCarthy coaches would kind of follow suit and.
Speaker 6 (06:32):
How that would go. But yeah, you know what, clean house, new.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Start, new year.
Speaker 9 (06:38):
Knew me, baby, but it was needed, and I'm interested
to kind of just get the ball rolling up next.
You have free agency, you have draft, you have all
those important milestones to really paint the picture of what
your team is going to be. So I'm interested to
see how they do it and how different philosophy wise
things will be for this team, because is it's been
(07:01):
the same and so I think when you get content
in a certain thing and a certain way of doing things,
that could kind of breed some some some mistakes in
some way. So I'm interested to see how the philosophy
change will be implemented in different Well, there's a.
Speaker 7 (07:17):
Lot of good things being said, and today's talking to you,
he just hearing from all the assistants and coordinators.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
But one thing I.
Speaker 7 (07:25):
Did get from them is that they believe and shoddy
and I believe it was Clayton Adams, that new office
coordinator that just that has said that, you know, it
hasn't been easy as far as coming up with the
philosophy that everyone kind of agrees with, because.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Again they haven't. It hasn't been easy.
Speaker 7 (07:43):
But they're staying in hotels together, they're in a room
all day together, pretty much trying to build that cohesiveness
as far as the coaching staff first, and then as
far as the players, they're trying to reach out to them,
but get to know them on a more personal level
rather than you know, just starting out the gate getting
to talk football. So that was something that I loved
hearing from all the coaches.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
But there's a guy that I got.
Speaker 7 (08:05):
To go one on one with a little bit is
Andre Curtis Second, who will be working with the safeties.
And something that last year I feel was a struggle
with just learning all of us kind of talked about
it was playing to the strengths of guys like Donovan
Wilson who plays better at the line of scrimmage, Malik Hooker,
who's obviously a betteran coverage, and I'd asked Andre Curtis like,
(08:27):
what was some of the things that you see on
tape from Donno and he and.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
He said exactly that.
Speaker 7 (08:34):
So I was like, Okay, this is something that you
want from a guy that's gonna be working with the safeties.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
And just just.
Speaker 7 (08:42):
Hearing something like that, knowing that these guys are trying
to learn how these guys play and playing to their strengths,
does that make y'all feel a little bit.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
More comfortable, a little bit a little confident something.
Speaker 8 (08:53):
Somebody asked me, uh the other day, do you think
the Cowboys are gonna be good?
Speaker 4 (08:57):
I said, honestly, I'm more excited to see that they have.
Speaker 8 (09:01):
It was hard to see right as soon as Shoddy
was like, Okay, what's gonna behind.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Nothing's gonna be new.
Speaker 8 (09:05):
And then we started like, oh, they're gonna be they
taking the run game serious, Oh we got a new mind,
you know on the defensive end type of ViBe's gonna
be a new defense again. And there's all these questions,
but it's like, great, it's exciting to see his coaching staff,
but who the players? That's somebody asked me and I
started laughing. I was like, so it's even funny to me,
I know, like the big storyline is like are the
Cowboys next next in line?
Speaker 4 (09:27):
Or how close or far are they from the Eagles?
Speaker 8 (09:29):
Well, moo, of the players we got how many free agents?
That's like it's hard to and you can watch as
much tape as you want, that might not be who
you got to work with next season. So to me,
it's like, I still feel like they're a little bit
behind the ball in that sense, But so is every
other team who hired a new head coach in the offseason, right,
So I think that is the main question now before
(09:51):
I can say like, yeah, I believe in this because
his philosophy is great, but he's gonna have a whole
new set of people he's working with, right, Like, we
don't know if it's gonna look younger older. Are they
gonna get that, you know, that defensive tack on the
offseason that's gonna be veteran pieces or are they gonna
be like those favorite words developing that we keep saying.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
You know, but I was waiting for you.
Speaker 6 (10:14):
I actually I gotta look this way. I'm sorry I
was waiting for you.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
Oh no, I mean I guess just to pickureback off
of what Bri said is so when you look within
this coaching staff, I mean, obviously we did kind of
a deep dive last week. And when I see guys
like Junior Adams, Clayton Adams, when I see these guys,
when I see guys even like a Ken Door, see
ebraflus like that have tenure, that have experienced that people
know who they are. I'm looking within their schemes and
(10:41):
what they do, and I'm like the football person in
me is like I'm new because I do think a
guy like Clayton Adams gives you an advantage as a coach,
which is what we're looking for. Is your coaching staff
giving you We clearly got to see in the Super Bowl.
It was talent, but but it also was like this
(11:02):
coach is out coaching you right now. And that's the
reality of it, and I want, I would like for
the Cops to have more of that. But to breeze
point is the way that and this is what happened
with Philly, is the way that you kind of make
it through that acclamation period at the beginning of the
season where your team is maybe trying to figure out
a new scheme. You have the talent to make up
for that to kind of overshadow that for them to
(11:24):
get the scheme and fit into it. And so it is.
It is very contingent to your point, breon if they
are going to be aggressive and free agency or if
they are going to kind of sit back and chill.
And I know Nicole mentioned before the show, some of
your star players are asking for that. Yeah, Michael persons,
they talking talk talking about that.
Speaker 7 (11:45):
Talking talking literally talking about that, willing to take less
money for that. But I was listening to Talking Cowboys
earlier and Isaiah made a good point about just like
the fact that Michael's willing to take less money, but
only if that's guaranteeing that there's something right return take
(12:06):
given a take, And I.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Like that point.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
I see that was that was good because.
Speaker 7 (12:11):
I mean, but does do y'all think that this front
office is going to do that though?
Speaker 5 (12:16):
I mean, well, first of all, I don't want him
to take less money as a player. For as someone player, First,
I don't want him to take less money. He's earned
his money. He's earned his money, and we see teams
pay stars like Michaeh and still be able to manipulate
the cap, still be able to cut people if necessary
to make room for money. There's other avenues to do
(12:37):
these things, and I don't think that. I think he
deserves what he deserves.
Speaker 9 (12:42):
Yeah, I agree, And you know, as far as being
aggressive and free agency, and to answer your question, if
I think it's going to happen.
Speaker 6 (12:50):
Price science, do you want the realistic answer? Do you
want the wishful thinking answer?
Speaker 9 (12:56):
Because there's there's two answers here and they're completely different.
Speaker 6 (12:59):
Really, do I think you get your big splash free
agents over and over and over and over?
Speaker 9 (13:06):
No, but I could see something happening very much so
us Van Gilmour Brandon Cook's esque where they are great players,
they're talented players, but they're not the sexiest name in
the bunch, right, So I think you kind of have
to tamper your expectations when it comes to cowboys in
free agency and just understand what the patterns have been,
(13:26):
what the circumstances are, and how things kind of work.
And you know, to your point, I should I agree
Micah should not have to take a pay cut. But
he's said multiple times. I've talked to him about this
multiple times, I've heard him say it to other people.
Speaker 6 (13:42):
He is willing to take that pay cut. He shouldn't
have to win, because he shouldn't have to.
Speaker 9 (13:46):
But he he is invested in being a Dallas cowboy
and he's made that very clear. And you know, I
think for Micah and him having his family, him having
you know, goals past football. He has a very good
head on his shoulders where he knows what he wants,
he knows what he deserves. But I really hate when
(14:07):
you know, outside people that don't really have conversations with him,
twist the narrative of he's greedy and everything, because when
you talk to him, he's not.
Speaker 6 (14:16):
He really just wants to play football.
Speaker 9 (14:19):
His whole life is playing football, and money really is
not a factor to him, as much as people would
like to think it's a factor. Because we're all human,
we need it to survive. But yeah, I'm not looking
forward to those headlines and those narratives when time comes.
But to answer to your answer your question, I'm gonna
(14:41):
expect the very least so I can be pleasantly surprised
if good stuff does happen.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
Well, what's frustrating, too, is that he's been and you
made some valid points. I wanted to say, he's been
mentioning that he wants to get this done as soon
as possible.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
Yeah, exactly, And not.
Speaker 5 (14:57):
Only would getting it done as soon as possible give
them a kind of a setup to be able to
look into free agency and know where their money is going,
be able to allocate it, pushing down the line like
getting ahead of it is not only going to you know,
help you with him in the market for him, but
also do things for you to open up your pocketbook
and free agency and know what your financials look like.
(15:21):
Get ahead of it.
Speaker 8 (15:22):
Just I mean God, And I think he said he's
for putting the pressure on the front office to do
something that they typically are not known for doing, because
towards the end of the season he said, I don't
need to be the forty million dollar guy.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Recently he said, I want them to be aggressive.
Speaker 8 (15:37):
I want them to try to save maybe an OsO
or Chauncey and not be the top dollar guy. But
obviously he wants to get paid, and I don't like
the fact that he would have to take less. But again,
two mil three mil less to Michael Parsons and we're
talking about a championship. I can't think of another team
who has who has currently two players top dollar.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
Besides the Chiefs.
Speaker 8 (16:02):
That's the only team that I can think of that
are paying two players top dollar on the market besides
the Chiefs. So when you want Michael Parsons to the building,
which he on all the walls, we do right.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
He wants to be there.
Speaker 9 (16:15):
He's literally there behind you, not not actually, but our
beautiful wallpaper.
Speaker 8 (16:21):
But I think that's the sacrifice to have Michael parties
on this team to be talking deep playoff runs. And
I don't see it this season, but in a season
or two being realistically a super Bowl team that's playing
in the Super Bowl with three top elite players, and
that's how you get it. Somebody has to make a sacrifice.
I don't love it either that you know he's going
(16:43):
to have to make less. Now, if we're talking about
taking five six less like be serious. But if we're
talking two mili, what's that?
Speaker 5 (16:49):
Maybe they can in.
Speaker 10 (16:52):
Like that.
Speaker 5 (16:53):
And that's what I mean by you can manipulate this
cap stop playing with us.
Speaker 9 (16:59):
Absolutely if you're proactive about it and you sit here
and you figure out the math that it can math,
and you can get everything done that you want to
get done. But guess what that takes being ahead of it,
which is something you just have not seen in recent times.
You have not seen the you haven't seen the proactive
part of this that put us in the rut of
(17:21):
you know, even last year, Oh.
Speaker 6 (17:23):
Dak's contract, Dax contract.
Speaker 9 (17:24):
That's all we were talking about literally until kickoff, which
was which at that point of walking like.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Running out like, yeah, it looks sixty mil lighter.
Speaker 9 (17:34):
You should but you know it shouldn't have taken that
long because all off season we were talking about, oh,
you could have had could have had this, You could
have had that, You could have had this, but you
you didn't because guess what, you didn't be proactive about
that situation. So for me, if your star quarterback was
a priority, and he should have been more of one
to get the deal done five minutes before, twenty minutes
(17:56):
before kickoff, Like what's saying, Michael Parsons is going to
be any different this offseason?
Speaker 6 (18:01):
That's what I'm saying, just realistic expectations.
Speaker 7 (18:03):
And you're not put in a position of where And
this is no shade to Carl Lawson. He came and
pray himself, but you're not picking from the I.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Mean, watch how I say.
Speaker 7 (18:16):
This, Yeah, but you're getting the cream of the crop
to start in free agency rather than getting guys that
you have to wait and kind of not develop.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
But they have. It takes some time for them to
get used to the system and things like that. So
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Michael Parsons has earned it. He's proven himself.
Speaker 7 (18:33):
He's used this year, this past year specifically to show
that not only is he a playmaker on the field,
but he can be a trusted guy in the locker
room in terms of being a respected guy in the
locker room and just showing that maturity. So hopefully the
cowboys get it done as a p All right.
Speaker 6 (18:50):
Are we are we taking some calls?
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Absolutely? Yeah? My bad, bad bad.

Speaker 7 (21:57):
One of the things that was asked for a defensive
coordinator Matt Ebrifus, is just about his defensive philosophy, and.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
He said, it's a pretty simple. We take the ball away.
Speaker 7 (22:08):
That's what we do. We stop the run. We want
to make exciting plays for our football team. That's really
what we do.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Thoughts do it?
Speaker 5 (22:18):
I mean, his system and the way that he runs,
his defenses is proven. His defenses do take the ball
away at a high clip. They do stop the run
at a high clip. It really is again contingent on
them getting him the players because the system that he runs,
like the guys on the back end, the secondary, they're
not going to be doing as much disguising and things
(22:39):
like that. With Zimmer, the front four is just I
do think he might get created with some of the
blitz packages and some of the stuff he does. But
he's like, he like Fandi over there, He like, Hey,
we winning with four? Can you win with four right now?
Absolutely not? So this is he's saying what he's saying.
(22:59):
And I hope that he has the freedom to, you know,
have some input on some of the things they do,
because I don't want him to be like Zimmer going
into the first preseason game being like, yeah, man, I
mean I I need a defensive tackle. What Yeah, at
this point in time. Yeah, So his system is proven
(23:20):
and and and I mean a lot of people he's
had it. He had some of his issues as a
head coach.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
But as a d C he signed.
Speaker 7 (23:25):
He did talk about how important it is to have
a defensive tackle and how crucial those positions are in
order for you to get home with four. But that
means you gotta dropping subs.
Speaker 5 (23:37):
He dropping subs Yah, the Kindrick and Drake beef.
Speaker 7 (23:41):
Oh mind, you gotta bring back I'm sorry skipping I'm sorry, Yeah, girl.
Speaker 6 (23:51):
We have a whole segment.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
In the last segment.
Speaker 6 (24:00):
Yeah, we have a really fun game that Nicole No,
she did. It's a good teaser.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
You got to.
Speaker 5 (24:08):
Go ahead, nugget, go ahead, go ahead, what you got
you do?
Speaker 6 (24:12):
Yeah, yeah, think about.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Inside.
Speaker 6 (24:18):
I would love to see the Cowboys do that.
Speaker 9 (24:22):
The problem is is there's still so many question marks
because of the amount of free agents and key defensive
free agents to your point, Nicole Osa and Shauncey, Jordan
Lewis and these guys that are predominantly known as good
old ball hawks or can strip sack or you know,
bat balls down, whatever the cases, take the ball away.
Speaker 6 (24:42):
They can take a.
Speaker 9 (24:43):
Ball away, and it's been proven under the right system
that plays up to their strength. So for me, that
sounds great, and I I think, I think I feel
very confident that Matt Eberflus can do that with whatever
roster he has. It's just it's still so cloud to
what that roster looks like because we don't know yet.
(25:03):
We won't know for a while and then I think,
you know, draft will give us a little bit more
insight on that, but until we actually just have a
set roster, it's very hard to imagine what that looks
like right now, especially if you lose a Chauncey or
an Osa, you know, and he's talking about this in
(25:24):
free agency, then you're kind of gonna be in panic mode,
right because you don't know what that looks like.
Speaker 6 (25:28):
You don't know if you'll retain someone in free agency.
Speaker 9 (25:32):
Right now, it sounds great and I'm looking forward to
seeing that, but I'll look forward to it even more
when I know for sure who who specifically he's talking about.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
Yeah, same and piggyback. I feel like you guys are
hit on the It's hard.
Speaker 8 (25:44):
Like I said earlier, it's hard to get Oh, this
is gonna work without seeing the piece is going to
get I'm hoping with the coach with seventeen years experience
came in here like, hey, I'll take this job, but
I got to have a say so and I gotta
have my hand in this and this and that. I
can't imagine hearing about even what you said earlier, just
about kype of person he is. I can't imagine he
took this job without having any type of face on
(26:05):
how much that's the question.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
And you're talking about the draft.
Speaker 8 (26:08):
They do got a lot of coaches they're bringing in
that are younger. When you're looking at the coaching staff
compared to last year that have I like because even
if it's an offensive guy, these are these are kids
that they've just been going against these last couple of years.
I feel like that's an advantage because as much as
you as someone who's you know, been in the game,
(26:30):
you're coaching NFL and you're you're paying attention, that's your job.
You have people in the building paying attendent, that's their job.
But I feel like having coaches who are actually physically
day and day out, that's who they're watching film on.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
Hey, I struggled on against this guy.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
I agree.
Speaker 8 (26:42):
I think that is the what I like most and
just taking it like a step further.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
But there's a lot of injuries.
Speaker 8 (26:48):
Uh, top guys coming back, we're not going to see
them in the beginning, So I think I'm not I'm
not mad if they focus on as much as I
would like to see a wide receiver, I'm not mad
at they take care of this detackled position defensive ends
something they're injured.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
I didn't even meet I was thinking the other day.
Speaker 8 (27:08):
I didn't even meet Sam Williams before I got to Oxnarchie.
So I'm like, those injuries trended and this team never
had a shot to really be healthy and get that depth.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
So it's gonna be exciting when some.
Speaker 8 (27:18):
Of the health issues come together. Start looking at the
draft and like, it's a lot to be excited out.
At the same time, it's kind of like to be.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
The DeBie down in the room.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
It's kind of like, all right, we don't know, we
don't know.
Speaker 7 (27:31):
I what did you think about the defensive tackle like
position in the draft so far?
Speaker 3 (27:35):
There are a lot of guys that you feel.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Could possibly fit what my Matt Eberfus.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Wants to do here.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
I mean, honestly, this is a very DT rich class.
Thank the Lord. If you need one, this is the one.
This is the time to get one. Yeah, uh huh
say I didn't say all that. No, I do believe
that this DT class is going to You're gonna see
(28:05):
some guys get picked in the force and we ain't
got no dang force he gave.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
I'm about to fight.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
Yeah, but you're gonna see some guys going in later
rounds that are our gentlemen that you might think can
go earlier, or there might be a run of them.
I hope not. But as far as the defensive defensive
tackle class, you got a lot of guys that are
three texts but do have some nose flex or you
have some guys that are just setting noses. And when
you look at a guy like Mason Graham DT out
(28:32):
of Michigan, he's sixty three, three hundred and twenty pounds,
maybe one of the.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
Most agile DT's in this draft.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
And last year you had Brandon Fisk after out of
Florida State University. He put on a clinic at the combine.
I think we might see something similar with Mason Graham.
He pops out of his stands, He's very explosive, he
pursues to the ball, he's his foot quickness is fantastic.
Some people might be kind of weird about his lengths
because his arms aren't that long. However, this is a
(29:00):
difference make on your defensive line. We even looked at
the Rams this year. They brought in, they went heavy,
they went it, they went they got jear Vers and
they got Brandon Fisk. And that defensive line with those guys,
you got a double team. Somebody yea yeah, and that's
what you're looking for. Again, we talked about Micah earlier,
building around Micah getting and we talked about, oh, so
we don't know if he we don't know what's gonna
(29:20):
happen with him. Also to your guy Dion Walker out
of a DT out of Kentucky, a man of a
human six seven three and forty two pounds. This gentleman
is a problem for offensive linemen because he requires a
double team. He commands a double team, maybe a triple
team because of the size. But he is very quick
(29:43):
for his size, very productive in college. I know that's
something that Will McLay told us on the Draft Show
that that's what he looks for as well. The pad level,
sometimes you can get a little high. You worry kind
of maybe about his motor, but his conditioning from what
I know, is good. This is a guy that can
play the nose tackle position and he does display some
pass rush ability and I think ebra Flus would be
(30:04):
interested in him, in someone like him. Also too, you
have Walter Nolan, defensive tackle out of Ole Miss. He
is sixty three, three hundred and five pounds and he
don't look no. Three hundred and five pounds he moves.
This is a three tech. Again, another guy that if
you aren't able to bring back Osa that I think
has some similarities to Osa's play. He's a good mix
of size and speed. He has a very initial quick step.
(30:28):
He plays the run with a lot of want to.
This is one of the highest ranking run stopping defensive
tackles in the NCAA this past year.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
And he's very disruptive.
Speaker 5 (30:37):
I mean we're talking bad at balls, we're talking about penetration,
putting a dent right inside of the offensive line. I
think he can prove on his balance and his flexibility.
He's not super bendy, and that's I wonder if it's
a trend because Sam Williams when he came in wasn't
super bendy, didn't have a lot of flexibility, but just
a crazy athlete. I just think that he can. He
(30:58):
knows how to re establish leverdge and reset the line
of scrimmage. And what I mean by that is when
that offensive line attacks you, are you able to stand
in your ground and redirect them? Are you able to
stand up in there and take on double teams, to
gap whatever the case may be, to free up other guys.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
This guy has the ability.
Speaker 5 (31:14):
To do that. That's something that Ebraflus is gonna be
looking for because again, if you're gonna rush with four,
he wants guys that can get upfield, but also have
a willingness to stop the run. So as we're going
through the draft process, we need to be looking at
guys they're like, okay, he got a little little something
to them, but also to how willing is he to
stop the run because that is what he cares about
ebra Flus as a coach, because that's what's gonna set
(31:37):
up you to and free you up to do everything. So, yeah,
it's a lot of good names in this defensive class.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
Throw that's good.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
How much pressure is on Mazie?
Speaker 9 (31:43):
I was about to ask you, I was about to
bring that up because you're one.
Speaker 6 (31:50):
All right, Look, we understood, we understood what happened. You're one.
We get it. We're not even gonna count that, all right,
that's yam. You're two.
Speaker 9 (31:59):
You kind of have to rebuild what happened in your
one and you were coming back from a shoulder injury,
and you know, rebuild muscle, put on weight the right
way like he talked about. And you saw slow progress
year three. You can't see any more slow progress. It
needs to be progress period, no more slow progress like
for me. I'm not saying Mazzi's on the hot seat
(32:21):
by any means, but what I am saying is, if
this draft is as sexy as you're talking about, that
starting position is gonna be one that he has to
earn back because you're not the only option anymore. And
to be fair, I think we can all agree that
if Mazzie wasn't the only option in that position, he
probably wouldn't have gotten as much playing time as he did.
(32:43):
And that's no knock to him at all. It's just
the position his Year one had put him into, right,
and they're playing ketchup right, and so I yeah, there's
a lot of pressure on Mazzi. I would say, you know,
you usually look at that year two jump as being
that pressure spot for a lot of these players, but
I think for Mazie he kind of falls into that
(33:05):
as a year three jump. But I think he falls
into that so much more because this is his make
or break season. To me, to how he kind of
proceeds with this team or just his career in general,
I think he has I will say one of the
to me, in my brain, he's one of the players
with the most pressure going into next season.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
I agree, it's a lot of responsibility.
Speaker 5 (33:26):
Yeah, and in this scheme, it's a lot of responsibility
to be the nose tackle in this game specifically.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
And I just.
Speaker 5 (33:34):
Think even when you talk about we're gonna talk about it,
but even when we talk about a OSA, he thrives
when he has a nose tackle next to him that
can play. So yeah, he better come.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
On with it because ebra flus.
Speaker 5 (33:49):
I do believe Mike if he doesn't see what he
wants to see from the nose position, Hey, y'all need
to get on the phone. Fact, got somebody that's all
nine one one thing to reminder that as much as
you could do all the mocks, and you just don't
know until they get on the field. So he's a
reminder that that Matt want to do something in free
agent that don't always work out like you plan.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
Yeah, that is the biggest thing.
Speaker 8 (34:13):
And I know it's it's all about costs and who's available.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
But again I hate to Eagles did it.
Speaker 8 (34:19):
Eagles did it for somebody cheap and dang in some positions.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
Need proven talent there.
Speaker 5 (34:26):
Yeah, some positions like defensive tackle.
Speaker 6 (34:29):
Talked about it.
Speaker 5 (34:30):
Yes, some of these positions it takes too long to
like just to wait around for it and for.
Speaker 4 (34:35):
Them to develop.
Speaker 5 (34:36):
You want a guy to come in right now that
is yes, that can play that you don't have to
wait on like and and that's how I feel like,
if you're going to attack I don't think the Cowboys
necessarily need to attack offensive line in first round, But
if you are going to bring in another tackle because
you're not sure, you need to go get that guy
in free agency, Yes, don't go get a nugget and
(34:57):
try to develop the nugget be you gotta be You
gotta be patient with a nugget. Bring the big dog
in here that's already established and let these young players too.
Because that's the thing about Mozzi mentorship. Yes, you know,
you know, having someone that is there to even teach him.
He's going through having different guys come in every off
(35:18):
season that he has to play next to and try
to pour into him. Let's find somebody that's gonna be
here for.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
A little wow. Yeah with the kiddo.
Speaker 9 (35:25):
I always go back to my conversations with Jonathan Hankins
about this because yes, he really did teach me so
much and I know I've talked about this million times
on this podcast, but you're.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Gonna talk about it again.
Speaker 9 (35:35):
I'm gonna say it again because here's the thing. Jonathan
Hankins always talked about how it took him about three
years to really get the position and fully understand it
as a nodes tackle, and he talked about just the
the details of why it's so difficult and you know,
all the things, and how long it took him to
progress in the NFL compared to college, and he explained
two very different things here. However, my thing with Mazi
(35:59):
or anybody draft at this point, if it's a nose
tackle or whatever, Okay, yeah, you have time to develop
and get better. But with Mazie, it's going on your
three now of we're still waiting to see what he
is because you just don't know. Regardless, there was injuries,
there was issues that held him up, there was scheme changes,
he lost the weight, he's putting it back on. There's
(36:20):
been a lot of change for Mazie, but for me,
especially looking at the injuries you have.
Speaker 6 (36:26):
On the defense, like you just mentioned very great.
Speaker 9 (36:28):
Point, you look at the free agencies within your defense,
at free agency names in your defensive line alone. If
you somehow cannot retain any of those, do you.
Speaker 6 (36:40):
Know how down are on that? Yeah, I'm gonna have
to go.
Speaker 9 (36:44):
Girl, have to woke up, could have to boke up,
Like I'm gonna have to grow a few feet.
Speaker 6 (36:50):
But like, figure it out. We'll go out there.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
We don't have to go through it.
Speaker 9 (36:53):
But the point is, that's the point, though, is you
have to think worst case scenario, you can't retain that,
Sam Williams, Uh, DeMarcus Lawrence, Chauncey Goldston, ohso DIGGI Zua
Carl Lawson. Like you have so many names, You have
so many names, say you don't retain any of them?
Speaker 6 (37:13):
What are you doing? Are you drafting? What if you
don't like? What are you doing?
Speaker 5 (37:18):
That's what I'm saying, Like because it might be a
run on DT.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
Girl, don't truss.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
You ain't even got no you ain't got no fluid.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
On that note.
Speaker 6 (37:25):
Don't we gotta go?
Speaker 7 (37:26):
We have second break, don't We're talking about free agency

Speaker 8 (41:00):
I've wrote mine to Jerry. Okay, Okay, mine says dear
mister cheers.
Speaker 3 (41:04):
I love that for you.
Speaker 8 (41:07):
We listen, and we don't judge on cowboys girls talk,
boys talk, but I think we can all agree the
running back by committee was not the move and confused
everyone from the coaching staff to the players to the
people in the stands.
Speaker 6 (41:19):
I will also admit, going back to last year.
Speaker 8 (41:21):
In Oxnard, I was buying into the question if Zeke
still had the juice when he in fact did not.
Speaker 6 (41:28):
No disrespect.
Speaker 8 (41:29):
I think twenty sixteen Zeke was amazing and he did
a lot for this franchise, and I think he even
might find production elsewhere next season, just not in this organization.
Zeke not making one of the road trips for distant
playing reasons was giving messy and made my head hurt.
With that being said, Rigo Daudell remained poised and showed
out for all undrafted free agents all over, surpassing his
(41:52):
one thousand yards milestone. Rigo's market value is looking to
be about six point two million. That's play money. Jerry
Rico only played fifty two percent of the snaps, so
imagine if the offensive play caller fed him and created
a solid offensive line to block for him. You don't
have to answer now, just sleep on it.
Speaker 3 (42:14):
Come on.
Speaker 6 (42:16):
You tell him girl, you let him know, don't you.
Don't you dabble Brie, don't you ever doubtle her?
Speaker 3 (42:26):
All right?
Speaker 6 (42:27):
I wrote a poem bye.
Speaker 9 (42:29):
It is titled It's an original poem by Jessnavars, titled
can you chancey what I see?
Speaker 6 (42:36):
Jerry?
Speaker 9 (42:36):
Oh, Jerry, I've come to implore, please don't let Chauncey
Golston walk out that door. He's a gem of force,
a cowboy to keep. Don't let him slip away. Instead,
let's talk about taking that leap. Last season, he showed
just what he's worth. Four sacks, two past defended. He's
proofed he's a force to this earth, a defensive lineman
with grit and might, always charging forward, ready for the fight.
Speaker 6 (43:00):
Among the best.
Speaker 9 (43:00):
He ranks with pride number four quarterback pressures for the
Cowboys last season. Yeah, he's that guy in total pressures.
He's got the juice and with his tackling efficiency, you've
really got no excuse with a motor that doesn't know
how to stall his passion for the pass rush. Jerry,
he's got it all. So Jerry, please hear my humble,
Please extend that contract and don't let him free, because
(43:23):
The Cowboys need him, no doubt, no debate. Retain him
and help seal the cowboy's fate. Don't let him walk,
don't let him stray. Keep ninety nine wearing the blue
and gray. I understand there's much work to do, but
with Chauncey Golston, there's no doubt.
Speaker 6 (43:37):
He's a guy you need to pursue. Okay, So get
ready to make that call, Jerry. Just get it done.
Speaker 9 (43:43):
And with Chauncey, Matt Eberfluz's defense can shine like the
Texas sun come on war.
Speaker 6 (43:50):
He killed it.
Speaker 3 (43:51):
A lot of rhyming in there. I'm not gonna lie.
That's me.
Speaker 6 (43:55):
Hours took me hours.
Speaker 9 (43:58):
Even before I was sitting in my car like reading
it through.
Speaker 6 (44:01):
Guys that took me a long.
Speaker 5 (44:02):
Time used to excel and they used to make us
do the soliloquies and haikus.
Speaker 6 (44:07):
Man, it's all the Taylor swift.
Speaker 5 (44:09):
You know what that makes toubtal sense that Hey, listen.
Speaker 9 (44:13):
I'm part of the Torture Posts Department.
Speaker 5 (44:15):
With y'all know me, man, I'm really simple with it,
all right, Dear Cowboys Front Office. Literally, you ain't got
no DTS.
Speaker 4 (44:32):
Mosa is a DT oh so diggyz is a DT.
Speaker 5 (44:35):
Not only is he a defensive tackle, he he's only
missed one game in his whole career. He was first
in QB hits last year in twenty twenty four, he
was top three in pressures, top three in past rush
win rate, and eleventh and run stops.
Speaker 4 (44:50):
Mhm, dramatic pause. Yeah okay.
Speaker 6 (44:56):
I was like, are you okay?
Speaker 5 (44:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (44:58):
All right?
Speaker 5 (44:58):
Yeah, absolutely, yeah, absolutely, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, just bringing
back it's not that complicated. You don't have any you
don't even have a starting place at this point in time.
I think that Osa has shown that he has done
enough to be a guy that is a staple on
this team. So just resign him. It's not that complicated
to me, all I sold, I'm not gonna do all
(45:19):
this extra cudn't dry. I loved your poem, but honestly,
you ain't got no dts. That's where it kind of
stopped and ended for me. Like just just said, like,
if you don't resign some of these guys you started from.
Speaker 9 (45:30):
Scratch, not even that we're gonna have to go out there.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
I ain't going out there. I will fall out, I will.
Speaker 5 (45:39):
But that, but no, no, I do think that what
Osa did was impressive to finish the season, especially I
think the last nine games of the season he was
one of the highest rank defensive tackles in the NFL.
That's what a lot of people have been looking at
from him. A lot of people feel like he tapers
off at the end of the year. I think he
showed that that he's capable of doing that. But also
(46:00):
to I think him and Micah are becoming Roadies in
a sense as far as how they're able to play
next to each other, like Jerry, for the love of God,
please don't make us start from scratch like they talk
about again. You talk about drafting and developing and bringing guys.
You drafted this guy from u C l A. He
has developed into one of the better past rushing three
(46:21):
texts in the league. Just resign him. It almost feels
like a punishment.
Speaker 4 (46:26):
And if you see it all thirty one other teams
are gonna see it.
Speaker 5 (46:30):
Well, honestly, I was creeping. I was creeping. I was
creeping on other.
Speaker 6 (46:33):
Teams Twitters they want to Yeah, should.
Speaker 5 (46:38):
Be so don't be late to the party, be proactive,
do your job, do your job.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
GM.
Speaker 7 (46:44):
There's a lot of teams that probably want a lot
of these free agents.
Speaker 5 (46:48):
I'm about to think.
Speaker 9 (46:49):
There's some great names I would like this, like like
like who Nicole, Oh, let's go, let's go, girls go,
y'all's is all light is like on the fly?
Speaker 3 (46:57):
No, mine is literally it's all right, fine, go ahead.
Speaker 7 (47:00):
I'm like Jordan Lewis, Dear Cowboys Front Office.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
Why.
Speaker 5 (47:11):
Letters, No, it's giving, it's giving, it's giving, wicked you
can't because it's in a letter.
Speaker 4 (47:22):
Totos Okay, okay, let's let.
Speaker 2 (47:24):
Me go ahead, baby, go Dear Cowboys front office.
Speaker 3 (47:27):
Let me get straight to the point.
Speaker 7 (47:31):
You will have twenty six players that hit the free
agency market in free in a few weeks. But there's
one that I have to stand Tinto's down for to
keep him here in Dallas.
Speaker 3 (47:42):
That's Jordan Lewis.
Speaker 7 (47:44):
Honestly, letting him go would be like trying to rock
designer but wearing a knockoff.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
I mean, it just don't hit the same. I'm sorry, okay, girl.
Speaker 4 (47:54):
That's the fact that.
Speaker 7 (47:57):
For starters, all you have now truly is Daron Bland.
And even though he's a luxury to have in terms
of his ballhawking ability, he's gotta have some help. Yes,
there's Kayln Carson, but the rookie's been half of the
season sideline nursing a shoulder injury, and when he was healthy,
he was somewhat a liability. Love you, my bet, my dog,
(48:18):
it's too late. He's young, He's got some developing learning
to do in this league. Of course, you have Treyvon Diggs,
but he's out for a major part of the twenty
twenty five seasons as well. I say all that to
say you need some heavyweight in that cornerback room, someone
that you know is going to make plays on and
off the field.
Speaker 3 (48:34):
On the field, let's take it back to twenty seventeen.
Speaker 7 (48:38):
Jordan came in as a third round pick and literally
had to fight his way from a rotational piece to
being a starter. Not only that, but becoming a team's
loane ballhawk prior to Treyvon Diggs and Doron Bland becoming
Treyvon Diggs and Deron Blan. Can we talk about him
fighting his way back into twenty twenty three from a
career threatening foot injury. Hello, it was a shattered foot
(48:59):
that left him with arc by the way, and still
finished as one of the best all around corners in
the league and top playmakers for the Dallas Cowboys twenty
twenty four. How about him having a career year highest
coverage grade by the way and holding opponents to three
or few receptions and ten of the sixteen regular season.
Speaker 2 (49:15):
Games played and nine games where he held.
Speaker 7 (49:17):
Opponents to fewer than twenty receiving yards comes. Please name
five to ten corners that can play nickel and boundary
corner and do it what? Please name five to ten
corners that are willing to come down and make plays
in the run game. Please name five to ten other
corners in this league that average eleven yards per reception allowed.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
I'll wait.
Speaker 7 (49:36):
Jaylu's played snaps where he's the line of the d
linemen in the box, free safety and of course corner.
Having that kind of luxury with a corner is priceless.
I'm not doing the whole stats and numbers thing too
much in this letter because that's something y'all have access to,
So let me get to my neck. On top of
Jaylub being a straight dog for real, he's a well respected.
Speaker 3 (49:56):
Guy in that locker room.
Speaker 7 (49:57):
He's competitive, has an off the chart work at f
They willing to teach the younger guys that come into
the organization.
Speaker 3 (50:03):
A guy that.
Speaker 7 (50:04):
Coaches, never complained about, never hear any outside noise about
him as well. He's about family, don't take no crap
from nobody, and most of all, loves this organization.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
And the best thing about it all, there's still.
Speaker 3 (50:16):
More in the tank for him. Trust me.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
He's a guy who's already proven he can hang with
the best and can.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
Be the best. Why we're starting over.
Speaker 7 (50:24):
Let's tighten up. Let's tighten up. I believe in y'all.
Sincerely touching the clutch.
Speaker 9 (50:30):
Okay, okay, all right, let it.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
I thought you was gonna say.
Speaker 5 (50:38):
I thought you was gonna say when you said I
say all that to say I was, I thought you
was gonna say it.
Speaker 6 (50:42):
But a cook, cook, he cooks you cold, all cooks.
Speaker 4 (50:48):
I love everybody's good job on anybody's choices.
Speaker 3 (50:51):
Yeah, absolutely not.
Speaker 5 (50:53):
You ain't got no details.
Speaker 8 (50:54):
My second choice almost was Eric, but then I was
like thirty three years old, just be realistic.
Speaker 4 (51:00):
So I didn't do it.
Speaker 8 (51:01):
But I would like to just say Jay Lou Wou
was been my second choice. If he didn't, I didn't
take him because Eric Kendricks had the highest defensive snaps
and he was injured. I saw him out there fighting
to be on the field, knowing there was nowhere to
go in this postseason. That stood out to me about
Eric Kendricks. But two, Jay Lou was the second.
Speaker 5 (51:18):
He improved also as well as the season went on.
Towards the latter part of the season. You saw him.
I mean, obviously he was dealing with the back through
the season and stuff like that, but I did see
improvement from him.
Speaker 4 (51:29):
It just seemed like things slowed down for him a
little bit.
Speaker 5 (51:31):
I think I had a lot to do with, you know,
him coming back from the injury. Yeah, but safety is
safety in need, ladies.
Speaker 4 (51:40):
Let's move on to that.
Speaker 7 (51:41):
You got Donald that's his contracts up in twenty twenty six.
Speaker 3 (51:44):
I believe, yes.
Speaker 5 (51:45):
But Marquise Bell he had the elbow injury this past year.
I think Wye had some form of Josh, but.
Speaker 8 (51:52):
He's at the end of his co That was the
other thing when we were talking about corners, and I
was just like, I'm here and I see it, but
like to read it and go over the stats like
the Cowboys six top corners digs, Bland, J Lou, Carson,
Ao Butler, all dealt with injuries, all miss games to
the point where Andrew Booth we did that swaping ox
(52:13):
eye with our remember reportant On that was in and
you mentioned liability with Carson. When I think of liability,
no disrespect, it was Andrew Booth every time I saw.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
It's the rest, it's the depth, all the.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
It's no shade to them, it's just they're not ready.
Speaker 9 (52:28):
And yeah, that's just the question is is that the
injury bug from last season or is that gonna kind
of wiggle its way back into this season and have
like lasting effects.
Speaker 6 (52:38):
That's my that's my question about the depth.
Speaker 5 (52:41):
Dang, they're gonna have to go on free agency because
I mean the draft, you ain't even got enough draft
picks to be clean to clean it up. I mean,
I just stressed myself out again.
Speaker 7 (52:52):
I flu did say that Osa is a guy that
they've all been talking about that they like. So I'm
hoping that that means they're fighting for the million.
Speaker 3 (53:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (53:03):
I also feel like if if Osa had the chance
to stay, he would. He's always throw and talked about
how much he enjoys this team and being in Dallas.
Speaker 4 (53:12):
So in the commun know he's still in the community.
Speaker 5 (53:15):
His philanthropy is something that he holds very close to him.
Speaker 4 (53:17):
Yeah, you ain't got.
Speaker 5 (53:19):
He only three take.
Speaker 3 (53:20):
Yeah, I'm not trying to be funny, y'all believe.
Speaker 6 (53:23):
Well, now that you've expressed everyone out for the week.
Speaker 2 (53:25):
I'm sorry to y'all said the right and the letter did.
Speaker 3 (53:30):
This is a great guys, Bye y'all.
Speaker 7 (53:32):
My Fries Morrison, Jessin Barres, Brianna Aldridge, I'm Nicole Head
just said we'll see y'all back here next week.
Speaker 1 (53:39):
He has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
