Speaker 4 (00:44):
Good morning, Good morning, it's good morning.

Speaker 5 (00:46):
It's eight am.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
It is I'm just gotting to get used to it, right,
that's say the same thing. It's kind of sick when
I think of it. I like you, I think I
love it.

Speaker 6 (00:53):
I think I'm starting to get got a routine, little
cheerios before I come in here, come on, cheerios.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
And I retired from the military.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
I retired from the early so I love this routine.
You said cheerios with were a lot of bed fifteen
minutes cheerios.

Speaker 7 (01:07):
On the go, Yeah, on the on the go. Cereals
very clutch for the situation. Just so you know, really
beat the traffic and still get my breakfast in.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Really, I think I'm you know, I'm I'm getting a
little older.

Speaker 6 (01:18):
Thirty two's next next month, and so I'm getting into teas.
Oh getting into some like little Lemon tea. Oh yes,
I'd be not Ginger teas, Dandonlion tea. You know, if
you say like I'm starting to get.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Yeah, wakes you up a little bit.

Speaker 7 (01:33):
I needed it after that Sunday night, first Sunday night
game last night.

Speaker 6 (01:36):
Babe, it was Green Tea this morning, so I had
some cafe because I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Let's talk about Sunday now that the Cowboys they obviously
played the Eagles and Thursday Night football, then you have
the Giants.

Speaker 7 (01:48):
Play the Commanders.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
And now the NFC East guys has played out in
just week one. Just talking about you know, the Cowboys
obviously Philly Giants, Commanders.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
How much better or worse?

Speaker 3 (02:02):
And I like this tweet that Clarence Hill actually.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Posted, how much better or worse do you feel about
the Cowboys after seeing the Giants play, after seeing the
Commanders play, and then of course the Cowboys playing Philly
on Thursday?

Speaker 5 (02:16):
What you gotta bring?

Speaker 7 (02:18):
I honestly feel like, right now, I'm not going to
jump the gun. I think there was a lot of
positive to take from the Cowboys Week one.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
I will say, I'm still kind of figuring out the
Cowboys and the Commanders.

Speaker 7 (02:29):
I still think the Eagles at this point are the
top dog in the division for NFC East right now.
That's just how I feel. I think they overall have
the best roster they put together in the offseason when
you're talking about talent. But I kind of wanted to
I save this little quote last night that I saw
from Josh Allen.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
If people stayed up to watch.

Speaker 7 (02:49):
The Ravens Bill's game, he says, Honestly, I met Matt Prater,
who had the winning kickoff or field goal last night,
in the locker room. Two days ago. He showed me
a video of his son playing quarterback. And today before
the game he comes up to me before we even
take the field, he just said, Hey, I promise you.
I'm gonna give you everything I got tonight. So that

(03:10):
man joined the team on Thursday. He's quite veteran like
in that room, and then had the winning field goal.
And I think for some reason, when I read that, Colt,
it reminded me of Brian Schottenheimer. I just feel like
that last part when he says, I'm going to give
you everything I got tonight, I feel like it reminded
me of the James Houstons, the Perryon Winfrees of this team,
and this is what Brian Schottenheimer believes. So going into

(03:34):
Week one against the Eagles, this is a team that was,
you know, the Eagles were the heavy favor going in,
and the talent wise maybe was going towards the Eagles,
but the Cowboys hung in there with the Super Bowl champs.
So I kind of went off tangent for a little
bit there, but I just feel like I just feel
like Shottenheimer is saying with his team going with that.

(03:58):
That's why I say I think they'll commander and uh
the Cowboys who I'm keeping an eye on, because I
think the Commander showed some flaws yesterday as well, like
they allowed Jayden Daniels to get sacked three times.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
He was kind of fine for life. I think the
O line has some work to do there, but they're pretty.

Speaker 7 (04:15):
Balanced on offense. That's also what I saw. They have
a lot of guys who can run the ball well,
and the Giants I think the Giants are where.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
They left off last season. I think they are that
they are struggling.

Speaker 7 (04:27):
And I think that the Cowboys this will be a
perfect game to get some confidence back and to really
be able to come out here and dominate. Not saying
it's going to be super easy or anything like that.
Russell Wilson can still go out there control, he can
kind of read the defenses, but I just think he's

(04:47):
no Jalen Hurts. And what I saw last week from
the Cowboys, I think it's gonna be a fun us.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
I'm sorry, we are taking calls one eight, five, five,
seven calls.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
Come and chat with you girls A.

Speaker 6 (05:01):
Well, first of all, a sweet one. Yeah, it's some
football being played, but it ain't always pretty. I mean
what we saw last night was kind of crazy from
a sense of I mean talking about we're talking about.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Thirty plus forty forty plus.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
Points in the first week.

Speaker 6 (05:21):
You know, offenses take a little bit more time to
get get their legs under them sometimes and to you know,
get on the same page. I feel like with Washington,
they're kind of taking off from where they were before.
They did try to invest in that offensive line a
little bit. This offseason, so for him to be running
for his life a little bit, I'm sure they don't
like that. But on the offensive side, Adam Deebo Samuels,

(05:42):
you saw he was really effective and his usage in
the way they're using him is still very similar to
how he's being used in San fran getting the ball
on the move, getting the ball out the backfield of
things like that. You're seeing guys have elevated roles with
them within their offense, so that their offense is something
that I don't expect to do a whole who whole
bok to change in Now they're running back position, they're
kind of.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
Distributing the ball.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
They're really doing by the committee because of some of
the gentlemen that they lost as well. And then the Giants,
I mean, huh no, I mean you know this that
that Giants offensive line has struggled for quite some time now.
In Babe, let me tell you, Washington Daniear dominated on
the defensive line. It was just very difficult for the

(06:27):
Giants to get.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
Anything going in the run game.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
And in the past game, Baby, they didn't have enough
time to do anything in the past game. Defensively, the
Giants are so weird because they always have pieces, they
always have.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
Players, and don't sleep on their defensive line.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
Even so at that, like, I'm still not gonna sit
up here in neck like these guys can't get after
the passer. Brian Burns, Abdul card or Dexter Lawrence, Kevon Thibadeau.
Those guys are going to be a tough matchup for Dallas.
Like I said, we saw them get off get after
Washington's offensive line.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
But I will say with Washington on.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
The defensive side, I do think that they have improved
in defending the run. Again, it's just week one. We
don't know, we know a lot of stuff and we
don't know nothing at all. But they did bring in
Javon kin law I think that you see that with
him next to Deran Payne, they've seen some improvements there
their secondary. Yeah. But I say all that to say

(07:26):
and to answer your question, Nicole, I think.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
It's week one.

Speaker 6 (07:29):
I think we're still trying to figure out some information
and stuff like that. But the division does kind of
look how it looked last year. To your point, to
your point three is that Philly is clearly the more talented,
the most talented team. They still have, they still have
the pieces there, and then Washington is kind of in
that place where they're kind of trying to take that

(07:49):
next step, and then.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
The Giants are still where they are.

Speaker 6 (07:52):
So Dallas does have an opportunity this week, like you said,
to right, some of the wrongs from last week get
on a good track because they get the maybe they've
been in the beginning of this schedule.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Yeah, it's scheduling. Yeah, so they gotta get wins and early.

Speaker 7 (08:07):
Kind of what I wanted to bring up when I
was watching, like I know, we're gonna have all week
to talk about Giants coming up, right, But it was
the fact that this team doesn't really know who their quarterback.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Wanted oh they shallad don't well.

Speaker 6 (08:18):
And I also think to your point with Brian dave
All coming out and saying, you know, we'll take a
look at it, you know, yeah, very much. So I
do think that there might be some gazemanship this week.
So I really I'm going to make sure that it's
like I'm gonna study them both because I think that's
kind of maybe how Dallas will be preparing because you know,

(08:39):
if they if they ain't got to wait, if they
got to wait to the last minute.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
To be like, oh, just get it.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
You know what I'm saying, that's dark.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Yeah, Carlos, who's that quarterback? You still have offensive line
issues with the Giants.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
So facts they need to figure that out a sap.
But I do want to go back to Ayisha.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
You know you mentioned week one.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
They're still figuring some things out.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
And one thing that you know last year the Cowboys
had some issues with around the NFC surround the NFL
in general, was modernizing the offense.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Right.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
They've done a good job of at least showing us
so far with the play action, the shifts, motions, all
these things. Where do you feel like the Cowboys so
far stack up in the NFC East alone in terms
of offense?

Speaker 6 (09:20):
And you shall start in terms of offense. I mean,
I believe that this team has the ability to be balanced.
And if you're balanced and you can first of all,
we've seen it last night. We've seen it to some degree.
If you can run the ball, you can do a
lot of things offensively. I do think that this this
Dallas offense, this young offensive line, is going to continue
to jail. We saw some good things from them, we

(09:42):
saw some miscues from them. We saw some miscommunications and
things from them. If this offensive line con continue to
build upon the good things they did last week with
you know, the doubles and stuff like that, then I
think that this team offensively has a lot of wiggle
room because you know what the passing game is to extent,
and I don't think that.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
And personally, I don't think that Shoddy went into the
world too much. I don't.

Speaker 6 (10:05):
I felt like some of the concepts we even seen
a training camp, some of the things we saw then
are not.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
Not things we even saw on Thursday.

Speaker 6 (10:14):
I think this offense has room to grow, but I
do I do think that as far as how they
match up with the.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Rest of the division, DEBI don't.

Speaker 6 (10:23):
I don't see a reason why they shouldn't be able
to continue to be able to put up points offensively,
and like like we talked about Washington, they have guys
on that side. Obviously, they went out in free agent
picked up guys, and Philly has aliens billion humans too,
So I think that Dallas matches up pretty well in
the division offensively.

Speaker 7 (10:42):
What do you think bring I agree, because I mean
they just hung in there with the Super Bowl champs
and like Dysha's point, I don't think that.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Was the best. That's they didn't even scratch the surface.

Speaker 5 (10:51):
It wasn't even clean the whole time.

Speaker 7 (10:53):
I'm expecting George Pickens, the guy that we've been raving
about since he got here. I think he's going to
be a lot more involved. I don't think he even
got have the touches. We'll see him getting a typical game.
And I know there's the drops that keeps coming up
about Ceedee Lamb, which is not going to happen in
my opinion.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
That's not that is not what Ceedee Lamb does.

Speaker 7 (11:15):
Let's just start there. I mean he had seven drops
last season altogether. He had four last week. That's hard
to picture him being continuing. Okay, but I will say
that Ceedee Lamb was open. Let's just put that's what
that's big.

Speaker 6 (11:30):
That's the huge part is that you know, Brian Schottenheimer
to your point. To your point, Brian Schottenheimer calls this
offensive progression offense that has typically been a progression quarterback.

Speaker 5 (11:39):
And what that means is when he as he goes
to his.

Speaker 6 (11:42):
Reads, bebe if that first read is open, he probably
gonna go there unless there's really something in that second
or third read. If he can get to it, he's
gonna go to that first read.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
And babe, listen, ced was cooking.

Speaker 6 (11:55):
Yeah, it is very hard for him to just look
off to his second or third read.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
Just as the sky's blue. If CD is open, that's
where he's gonna go with the ball.

Speaker 7 (12:03):
To your point, pre Yeah, what I saw from week
one makes me believe that this team is going to
get They're going to find ways to get the running
backs involved. Whether you're designing touches for Jontay Williams, Miles Sanders,
you know, we know he can do some things when
we're talking about creating him as a pass catcher. I'll
be interested to see, though, if they're going to give
Jayden Blue some some time there, because I just feel like, again,

(12:28):
nothing shady to Sanders, but I see why they went
with the veteran running backs, but I would like to
see what Jaden Blue can do with his burstiness.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
I'm just really excited to see about the young running.

Speaker 7 (12:39):
Back, but just the short passing concepts, getting three wide
receivers out there. I just think this offense, like I
used to said, when I look at them, I look
at the commanders being very balanced. I saw that last
night from them. We know the Eagles are going to
be a run first type of team, but I think
the Cowboys have it as well, and I think they
showed us that Week one.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
When you talk about the differences, you see it in
the stats. Of course, Cavante Turpin was used in motion
and a career a career high rate fifty three point
eight percent. That's fourteen times, including nine in motion of
the snap. Javonte Williams had two rushing touchdowns. That was
the first time the Cowboys running back has had a
rushing touchdown. And the season opener, of course, Dak Prescott

(13:20):
playing very well to be back since last November.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
If you could.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Potentially, where would y'all say how.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Many games the Cowboys could win this season? I want
to know what's y'all thoughts. I know y'all hate that.
I know that you should stressed. Nah No, I just
gave this prediction, so I'll give it.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
I got, yeah, go ahead.

Speaker 7 (13:42):
I think they get to double digit wins this season.
I felt like that coming into the season. I didn't
and then I changed my mind. Yeah, so you're allowed
to do that.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
I did. I'm like Okay, I didn't. I thought, Okay,
to be fair, I thought Week one was going to
be a shootout. I did. I thought the offense was
going to show us a lot.

Speaker 7 (14:01):
What really impressed me is that I didn't give enough
credit to the defense that second half.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
I said, this team might might.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
Be for real.

Speaker 7 (14:14):
I know we'll get into it later too, but the
Kenny like Kenny Clark makes makes a huge difference.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Yes, he could stay healthy all season.

Speaker 7 (14:22):
This team is going to be something else because he
just makes that defensive line so much better.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
And we'll get into that later. But yeah, I'm I'm going.

Speaker 7 (14:33):
Ten and seven for the Cowboys, and perhaps depending on
what the Commanders do, perhaps they sneak in there. Guys,
I don't know, but I'm going I think they get
double digit wins.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
I had seven and ten before the season, and I
can change mine to ten and seven.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
I definitely agree they got three extra games from last week.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Yeah, I'm confident. It's the offense that made me.

Speaker 7 (14:56):
I feel more confident. I feel like Brian Schoenheimer has
a plan. He came in here and he has a
plan and he's not messing around. He gave this team
an opportunity in Week one, a team that's coming off
seven wins, who got I know Dak Prescott didn't play
in the two games they faced the Eagles last season,
but Brian Schottenheimer came in here and gave this team
more than plenty plenty of opportunities to win this ball game.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
And that what was so hard to watch.

Speaker 7 (15:20):
It is because Dak Prescott, who hasn't played a game
since last November, deserved that win, and his key playmakers
didn't come through for him. And I know, Ceedee Lamb's
taking the brun of that, Miles Sanders, But I'm not
letting Jake Ferguson slide on that talk about the ball.
We like that was talking about that one enough.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
That was hard to watch.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
Yeah, they got to execute.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
They got to execute.

Speaker 6 (15:43):
If they want to be the team that they want
to be, they have to finish play. So even so,
like on the defensive side of the ball, like I
did like the adjustments that they made in the second.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
Half, some of the things that they were doing, Fluse
opted to.

Speaker 6 (15:58):
He realized that they weren't getting they were getting pressures,
they weren't affecting the quarterback enough, so he brings some
nickel blitzes. He brings some safety blitzes like he's trying to,
you know, figure things out. And so I will say
defensively though, early in that game, they had opportunity, They
had opportunities even in the first half for things to
be better. When they were able to get to the quarterback,

(16:21):
baby they was missing. I was like, and again that's
a part of week one. That's a part of guys
getting their legs under them and all that stuff. But
I am looking for them too when they get the
chance to make a play, to make it. Because that's
what happened on the offensive side is you know, when
you plan a team like Philly that just can move
down the field, can do all these things, you don't

(16:43):
have that much room for error. And to the Cowboys,
you know, defense, they weren't super high in penalties.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
I think it was what four for forty four on Thursday.

Speaker 6 (16:53):
But the penalties that they did have did hurt because
you in the red zone four for forty two, four
for forty two, because you in the redson and then
you know, obviously you have to fumble and all that stuff.
But even prior to that, like pickings, have the unnecessary
roughness that put you in first and twenty two.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
That's an opportunity for you. That was an opportunity for you.

Speaker 6 (17:13):
To go score, for you to go, you know, to
flip the table. So for me, it also too is
executing and to be being patient and being smart in
those moments so you're not shooting yourself in the foot.
Like you mentioned breede, the drops, mercy like the mercy,
the mis blocking, assignments, the miscommunications on some of these
twisting stunts with the offensive line. It's just and I'm

(17:34):
not being fussy because I understand that it's weak one.
I'm just saying that that is the difference between you
being what we talking about right now and contending and
dealing with these green folks up there in Philly eventually
and then you and then and then you being at
the crib. So hopefully they're able to, you know, kind
of real these things in like you said, get some

(17:54):
confidence moving forward.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
But I'm not down on the team at this point.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
Yeah, you just gotta execu and I think that they will.

Speaker 7 (18:01):
Yeah, And I think going against a team like the Giants,
this is a time to perfect some of those mechanics
that maybe you can't against the Eagles, because they're a
little bit more sound.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
You saw the flaws if you watched that Giants game
last night.

Speaker 7 (18:16):
They got Malik Neighbors crashing out in the first half.
Wide receivers, Brian Dave All, don't forget this is similar
to what some of the Cowboys like the McCarty situation.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
He's his job is on the line, right He came
in there.

Speaker 7 (18:30):
He was praised for all the work he did in
Buffalo with Josh Allen and getting him to where he was,
and he hasn't been able to deliver with this team.
There's a lot of heat there and we know what
that looks like when coaches are playing for their life.
So that's something to keep an eye on as well.
But I would say Tysha's point there was like little
things and when you're going to the first half, the
uglier half for the defense, I saw Dante Faller a

(18:54):
couple times not.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Setting the edge.

Speaker 7 (18:57):
And then those were the first two offensive drives for
the Eagles, those were points.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
Those were long scrambles.

Speaker 7 (19:03):
The second offensive drive for the Eagles, Kenneth Murray looked
like a problem, just not being in the correct lane
and getting in the way of his own teammates type
of thing. So if you can clean that up, I
think you know, yeah, don't.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
We gotta say our first Oh, say your first break.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Welcome back in the Girls Talk, Boys Talk, presented by Invisiline.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
Here in the s.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
SWBC studio Nicole Hutcheson, Rian Aldridge and Aisha Morrison.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
And we got a caller on the line, Billy out
of Fort Worth. Billy, what's popping?

Speaker 4 (21:51):
What you got for us.

Speaker 13 (21:54):
That?

Speaker 5 (21:55):
Billy?

Speaker 9 (21:57):
Whatening? What's First of all, First of all, I want
to say I love you all. So you women do
a great job at what you all do. You all
really break the game down and it's fun to watch.
I'll watch you all every day. They yeah. But but
let's go ahead get into it. First of all, I

(22:19):
heard you all talking about their their record. I got
I got these boys winning no more than five games,
maybe six?

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Why we want to know why?

Speaker 9 (22:29):
Why?

Speaker 4 (22:29):
Billy?

Speaker 9 (22:29):
You want to know why? But let's let's let's look
at the Skips. Let's just look at the Skips. Got
John twight, you got the Johns, you got the Gihnt twice.
They don't know what they're doing. They got players crashing
out on croke coaches. So that's two wins right there. Right,
let's go down to Chicago. Chicago. That's a maybe. I
don't know about Chicago. They they play today, right yeah, yeah, yeah,

(22:53):
so we'll we'll see what Chicago looking like today. But
that's maybe Packers. Oh their cook the way Michael Parkson
was getting after a cowboys don't have a Cowboys don't
have a stool on their team. So so I'm just
saying that's right there. The Jets, the way the Jets

(23:15):
were looking, they were looking pretty good against Aaron Rodgers
and them yesterday. You know, ja Jail Branchon made a
big plays. So I'm like, that's all right there, that
those three weeks in a row, most definitely, most definitely.
And then he got Carolina. I don't I don't know
about Carolina right now, you'll know right now, I'll be nice,

(23:37):
I'll be nice. I'll give them Carolina. Thank you, commanders.
Commanders is an l I think they Yeah, that I
know that. That's both times. And then you got the Broncos.
That Bronco secondary. Yeah, that that Broncos.

Speaker 6 (23:56):
Hey brother, hey brother, ain't let you slide past Washington
as though. Talk to me as though, as though Washington
didn't struggle defensive, lady, they struggled offensively against Dallas last year.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
And Dallas defense wasn't that.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
It wasn't that good last year. I'll let you slie
past there.

Speaker 13 (24:15):
Whoa hold on?

Speaker 9 (24:15):
Now? Now you said better?

Speaker 14 (24:16):
This year?

Speaker 9 (24:17):
The boys, Jalen Hurts had Madden and Tom in the pocket.
Them boys ain't getting no pressure back there. I'm talking
about getting no pressure.

Speaker 14 (24:25):
Hold up.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
I think I got that stat for you though, Hold
on second, Hello, defenses that generated pressures on forty percent
of their opponents drop backs in Week one. The Steelers
were at the top forty four percent. The Cowboys were
second forty two point four percent. Commanders right behind them
forty two point two percent. Falcons than Broncos. That was

(24:48):
per the thirty thirty team.

Speaker 9 (24:50):
So they didn't have but I was getting hold on,
hold on, holdo. But with that, But with that, the
only thing about that is you can't really go off
stack with that, right okay, because if you think about it,
hold on here out. If you think about it, the
only time the boys got pressure is when Jalen Hurst
rolled out. When Jalen Hurst rolls out, the offensive line
can't hold, so they gotta let the defense end. They

(25:11):
gotta let the defense ends go.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
The pressure he rolling out? No, no, no, what I
got to hear the rest of.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
Ahead?

Speaker 4 (25:27):
Broncos.

Speaker 9 (25:28):
Yeah, we were at We was at Broncos. We was
at Broncos. Now the Broncos, that's the l They that
defense is nice and they offense is rolling right now.
Don't see them being the Broncos. The Cardinals, M that's
some lady. I don't know the Cardinals flying. They flying
folks out there and stuff like.

Speaker 13 (25:45):
I don't know Cardinals.

Speaker 9 (25:46):
Cardinals might be on one. I think that's all. Oh
then the Raiders, Oh Max Cross is about to get
after them. Oh that's the l And then you gotta
played the Eagles again. Now, I'm gonna be honest with y'all.
I thought he was gonna beat the Eagles the first
time I had them. I had I had them being
Eagles the first time. The reason why it is because

(26:07):
new offense court new offense new defense. You don't know
what they're doing. The boys gonna show their hand. Now
they're cooked, They're absolutely cooked. Okay, now now you go
down to Kansas City. Now, I'm pretty they look terrible.
Week one, they look terrible.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
We appreciate God.

Speaker 9 (26:27):
But if you think, if you think, if you think
they're gonna let that keep going, you're crazy. I really,
I honestly think they're gonna go back and get Tyreek kills.
We being honest. You heard it here first.

Speaker 15 (26:36):
But you know what, listen the way Miami looks, go
alad Billy continue and.

Speaker 9 (26:47):
Then and then what the boys gotta go go to Detroit.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
It's scary.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
To you on that stretch.

Speaker 9 (26:56):
We'll see that's the ill. That's all right. And then
the boys got it. Then they got to cover Justin Jefferson,
Adam Feeley, Jordan Aison.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
I should have asked, Billy, who are they beating? That
would have been.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
That would have been I think he said, uh, Carolina, right.

Speaker 9 (27:14):
Yeah, take care Carolina for you got Carolina, you got giants.
You got two games, you got two games, you got
two games with uh with the Giants? That three?

Speaker 4 (27:23):
Who else you said?

Speaker 3 (27:24):
You said, uh, Chicago, you said you would give them.

Speaker 9 (27:27):
Chicago, Yeah, I give I give him. Maybe with Chicago
that I give him. Maybe.

Speaker 5 (27:31):
Yeah, we only had four wins so far, what's the
fifth one?

Speaker 9 (27:34):
Maybe maybe the Chargers. They get iffy. Certain once December
hit they get iffy. So I think maybe the Chargers.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
Honestly, out of all the teams you have talked about Denver,
all of them, that the Chargers look better.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
Than the half of them.

Speaker 9 (27:47):
What are you but they know they always do that,
the Boys always.

Speaker 7 (27:53):
Billy has to call us back October twentieth after they
played the Commanders and then we got to regroup with
this list.

Speaker 12 (27:59):
Yeah, we can do that.

Speaker 5 (28:01):
Let's do that.

Speaker 13 (28:02):
Let's do that.

Speaker 7 (28:02):
Billy put us on the calendar, not on the council, saying,
because I'm going to talk.

Speaker 9 (28:10):
Cool with me and I told you I love you all,
show you all do a great jobs. It's just a
team that your cover is terrible. Do a great job, Billy.

Speaker 6 (28:21):
I keep hearing all these little hints that it sounds
like you're not a cot facts.

Speaker 8 (28:26):
Billy.

Speaker 9 (28:27):
Oh, I've been. I've been a fan. I've been a
fan since the nineties. Don't get me wrong, I've been
I've been a big fan. I've been a fan since
the Landry days.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
He's just been through a lot of that sounds.

Speaker 5 (28:42):
Really it sounds.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
You know, we understand, we're giving you a vertual hood.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
We appreciate you so much, Billy for calling in, and
we're gonna look forward.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
To you calling us back in October.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
Here, call us back, Billy. What y'all think? Huh?

Speaker 4 (28:58):
Real fast, before we get to the def talk.

Speaker 5 (29:00):
What do we think about what Billy was saying?

Speaker 4 (29:03):
Yes, Billy just made my morning because he did. He's
he's been a lot, you know, how to believe it?

Speaker 9 (29:09):
Right?

Speaker 4 (29:10):
He speaking?

Speaker 5 (29:11):
I got problem and I'm you know, I think it
a l he's a h We got a caller, but
keep on. Oh no, no, no, no, we got another.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
Like all right, we got our second caller, Mike out
of Boston. What's up Mike?

Speaker 9 (29:27):
All right? I love you guys.

Speaker 14 (29:29):
I do.

Speaker 13 (29:30):
Miss Christy. She's really good because she's been around a while,
so she can add some from the back of the
old good days, you know, some of those good stories.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
No, she's here on Mondays and Fridays with us just today.

Speaker 13 (29:43):
Okay, I didn't know that.

Speaker 5 (29:44):
It's okay.

Speaker 9 (29:45):
So that was the most ridiculous phone call you've ever taken.

Speaker 13 (29:48):
I can't believe you indulged him.

Speaker 5 (29:51):
We would not know.

Speaker 13 (29:52):
I mean, really, Denver's offenses rolling. They couldn't beat the
Titans yesterday, Billy trust I'm a gambler. I know I
watch every game point and as far as Thursday, I
thought it was encouraging. I do think we're gonna have
trouble getting to the quarterbacks.

Speaker 9 (30:12):
I'm so tired of.

Speaker 13 (30:13):
The Micah talk. It's all every every game they talk
about it, even if it's not related to the Cowboys
and Packers and Jay love Micro and green Bay yesterday,
Oh my God, like he was a god or something,
which you know in Green Bay he might be. There's
not a lot of celebrities walking around there. But truthfully,

(30:36):
you know, I'm in my late forties, so I remember
the good days, the nineties. I've been a fit since
basically nineteen eighty two when I was a little little kid.

Speaker 9 (30:44):
And yeah, I think the season could be good.

Speaker 13 (30:48):
Washington didn't look great. I mean they didn't look the
Giants for Russell Wilson. We should beat them unless they
go to the rookie next week.

Speaker 14 (30:56):
So I do.

Speaker 9 (30:57):
I love you girls.

Speaker 13 (30:58):
I listened to at work. I watch you too, and
you're really good at breaking down film. I'll give you
that thank you with the Draft. I like you on
the Draft show too.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 9 (31:08):
You got it going.

Speaker 13 (31:09):
So it's nice to see you women kicking some you
know what. I don't know what I can and can't
say so, but all I love you guys, and I
predict ells ten and seven they'll get in a wild
god and they'll probably lose. But you know, I'm hoping.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
The positivity.

Speaker 13 (31:28):
Yes, I just I mean Carolina. He's not sure about
we don't beat Carolina.

Speaker 9 (31:34):
We got problems.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
I agree.

Speaker 13 (31:36):
I was just out, you know. Thanks all right, and
now I'll end it with this Asha, the girl that's
never had.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
Oh oh, we don't want to know copyright.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
But I didn't know another.

Speaker 13 (31:52):
All right. Yeah, I thought you were too young. I
thought you were too young to even though that rap.
In a month, thirty two in a month, I'm getting
all right, girls, We love you, Mike. Keep it real
and don't be hey, don't let people be so negative.

Speaker 9 (32:09):
Don't let almost I was so aggravated.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
All right, love you man, Thank you so much, Mike.

Speaker 7 (32:21):
Two different type of phone calls ended with some positivity.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
Absolutely, I love.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Them, though we appreciate them from popping in on the show,
Billy and both Mike and but I do want to.

Speaker 11 (32:31):
That day.

Speaker 15 (32:33):
What is funny?

Speaker 4 (32:35):
Billy said, y'all think y'all having a good morning. Let
me ruin that l L and what you thought wasn't
an L And Billy, I can't wait to recheck with him.
They meet the commanders pick up phone. That was that
woke me up? All right, go ahead? And then I

(32:57):
was just that was kind of insane.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
Five after we just said ten and seven and like
and then I used to say the double digit wins too,
like that just kind.

Speaker 13 (33:07):
Of no, no, no.

Speaker 6 (33:08):
If everybody's a tired, hurt their opinions about what they
think about the team.

Speaker 5 (33:13):
They got to prove it absolutely, so I get it.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Yeah, but Babe, maybe I guess all right, well talk
about proving it. I think without obviously we still have
to mention the fact that they didn't have Michael Parsons,
but you know, without him, this without him, this defensive
line did show some promise, right you know, Brianna actually

(33:37):
mentioned it. H Kenny Clark that addition to the run
defense and helping hold Saquon Barkley to just sixty rushing yards.
We briefly touched on it on Friday, but I believe
after the rain delay he only had seven yards on
I'm sorry, seven rushes on one yard. So let's talk
about that, and you should just talk about, you know,

(33:58):
the run defense.

Speaker 6 (33:59):
And where you feel like, oh yeah, I mean, well,
at the beginning of the game, your ends and your
linebackers were in a turn cycle.

Speaker 5 (34:06):
Baby. It was uh listen, they was doing the cha
cha slide. It was, it was.

Speaker 9 (34:12):
It was.

Speaker 6 (34:13):
I mean number one Philly is going to They're not
a team that does a whole bunch of motions and
whole bunch of things, but they are very intentional in
creating spacing for their guys to operate. And honestly, like
I said, guys weren't just weren't taking good angles.

Speaker 14 (34:26):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (34:26):
The defensive ends were crashing and that's why you kept
seeing these guys attack the edges like you have to rush.

Speaker 5 (34:32):
There was no and shot.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
He said that.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
He said he said it in.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
The middle of the interviews that they do in the
middle of the game.

Speaker 13 (34:39):
Lord.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
Uh, he said it.

Speaker 6 (34:41):
He was like, there's no the rush lane integrity is
not there, like there's no rush lane discipline. Rather, and
we saw that specifically from the defensive ends more than
anybody is that they were getting up field, they were crashing,
and that was creating lanes for Sa Kuan and Jalen
Hurts to just slip through. And and really who was
hurting that you at the beginning of that game was

(35:01):
Will Shepley. Yep, thank God, like that there was some
there were some other things going on. He went down
unfortunately with a rib injury during the game, but he
was the one that was given it to you at
the beginning of that game, and I really was concerned
to start, he had three carris between six yards in
the beginning of that game.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
And so so I think that.

Speaker 6 (35:23):
That's one of the things that I'm looking for is
for these defensive ends. Dante Fowler, we're talking about.

Speaker 5 (35:28):
Sam Williams, those two.

Speaker 6 (35:31):
Those guys are very high energy pass rushers. Looking for
them to settle in play their keys, set the edge
as we talked about before and tackle and also too,
I thought Marshawn Neeland showed some really good things in
the runner and they was like grown man, you understand me.
Like the way He's the way he's able to shed well,
to stack and to shed and to to tackle and

(35:51):
to get off blocks is impressive.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
Donovan is Roku.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
Your young edge.

Speaker 6 (35:55):
I think he still has some. I do believe this
edge room is going to look better as the year on,
especially if you get some upside, if you if you
get something good, get some good from Donovanzaku and Marshawn
Kneeland taking a step. But that's that was the biggest problem.
And then your linebackers, Kenneth Murray. This was our first
time really seeing him. Yeah, it's my first time really

(36:15):
seeing him. I mean, we ain't seeing we ain't seen much.
And then from what I did see, he looked a
tick behind that were dropping him into the into the zone.

Speaker 5 (36:24):
And there were just times.

Speaker 6 (36:25):
Where you could tell that he was unsure of what
to do and he was a tick behind. And it's like, hey, dude,
if you know the balls going away this way, I
need you to be flowing that way. And he was
a little he was a little late.

Speaker 5 (36:37):
I think Zack Jack Sanborn.

Speaker 6 (36:39):
Goes back into what we were talking about earlier, where
I'm like he was there quite a few times. There
were times he filled his gap. He was certainly, he
was sure missed the tackle. Too many miss tackles, too
many miss tackles, too many missed opportunities this linebacker room,
and we talked about it before. Hopefully we see a
little bit more merestly if I depending on what happened,
we know he was snatching.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
People up like it's fine, Like yeah, it'd be like
that though. And I do think this.

Speaker 6 (37:06):
Second level hurts you at the beginning of that game,
the last like it was, the ends in the second
level will hurt you.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
I thought.

Speaker 6 (37:13):
The defensive tackles do what they need to do, as
you were talking about, Nicole, that's what needs to improve
for this run.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
Game to improve.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
All Right, we're gonna take our last break because we
do have a caller that it will be hitting us
up on the fizzon Mike and Jersey very back.

a caller.

Speaker 4 (40:16):
On the line, Mike out of Jersey.

Speaker 5 (40:19):
What's up? What you got for us?

Speaker 14 (40:22):
What's going on?

Speaker 9 (40:23):
Nicole?

Speaker 14 (40:23):
I gotta say, man, you have the most energy for
nine got kids, and I got that kind of energy.
I really don't.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
You gotta wake up happy, you know, bring the energy.

Speaker 5 (40:36):
I feel like that's just an every.

Speaker 14 (40:37):
Day I'll wake up happy too, But my kids don't.
They do not wake up happy at all. So first, first,
let me say hello to the panel Brianna. Lovely to
see or talk to you. Hey, Hey to hy on
Twitter looking like a pointer sister and Hutch. I'm saying,

(40:58):
so are you would know me as Hoodie Cush of
the basement boys know you are. Indeed, I finally get
a chance to talk to you guys so well the
other two. I talk to you all the time too,
when we're in mixes, when we're in mixers spaces. But
the caller, Mike, he he's delusional. I understand his caps

(41:20):
were built on on trauma. But if you're looking at
this team, there's one thing that I take solace in
looking at that first game. I'll really take more solace
in the fact that the coaching staff is for real.
You know what I'm saying. If you look at I
don't hear too many people saying that we had zero

(41:41):
pre snap penalties. That's the ones that I don't hear
anybody expounding on the fact that we had zero pre
snap penalties. Now that's not to say that we don't
have anything to clean up. I mean, you got the
personal fouls, uh, the unsportsmanlike conducts, and I'm saying stuff
like that, But to not have any pre snap penalties

(42:02):
in the game of that magnitude, that said something that
says something about coaching. It says something about the guys
who were who were taking to this coaching. As far
as the defenses concerned, yeah, I mean, if we're gonna
harp on the fact that you know, our I just
weren't getting much fresher at the beginning of the game, fine,
you can do that, but there was gonna be a
drop off. Let's be honest. There was going to be

(42:24):
a drop off. This is a new defensive coordinator. And
the one thing that that made me happy to see
was end game adjustments.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
That delay gave a little bit more yeah, a little.

Speaker 5 (42:38):
Bit more time.

Speaker 14 (42:42):
Exactly and that and that's it's refreshing to see. We
didn't have that with Zimmer, and Zimmer came in trying
to marry his style with dan Quinn's defense, and it
just didn't. It just didn't mesh well. If then if
Zimma would have in with completely his I think we

(43:03):
would have done better. But that was last year. This
is twenty twenty five. I'm not really looking at the
Eagles game. We played, we played really well. We lost.
It is what it is. You know what I'm saying,
Guy's got to go back to the lab. They got
to get better. They got they got to be on
their cues. I'm looking forward to the Giants. Are we
going to get the same Giants team that we saw

(43:23):
against Washington? Are we going to get a little cleaner
Giant teams? I don't know. I mean, this is the NFL,
so I mean it's the game of matchups, you know,
the game of matchups. So it's like, do are we
are we good enough to maintain the defense, the defense
the way that we did game one going into game two.

(43:45):
Does anything carry over?

Speaker 4 (43:47):
What do you guys think, Oh no, no, no, yeah,
appreciate you, Mike, No, no, no, no no.

Speaker 6 (43:55):
I mean honestly, that's him bringing up the you know,
lack of presept penalties. I think when I think the
only one was twelve men on the field, yep, that
was the that was the only like pre snap penalty.

Speaker 5 (44:06):
And that's a fantastic point.

Speaker 4 (44:08):
Philly is a hard place to play on the road.

Speaker 6 (44:10):
You got a young offensive line, you got you got
new players on on your on your team. I do
think that is something that is being a little understated,
is that this team was able to stay disciplined and
and what's understated about it is that the championship team
on the other side, Baby, they had a lot.

Speaker 5 (44:27):
Maybe they had a lot. They had a lot of miscues.

Speaker 6 (44:29):
I think they had about one hundred yards and penalties
if I'm not mistaken, let me go.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
Look they have, but that's one penalties for one hundreds yeah.

Speaker 5 (44:37):
Yeah, And so I totally agree with you.

Speaker 6 (44:40):
That's something to be positive about and that these coaches
did have these guys ready.

Speaker 4 (44:45):
They got to execute, because.

Speaker 6 (44:46):
If some of these drop passes aren't happening, if some
of these miscues and these blocks aren't happening, then this
is a totally different game. So I do think that
the game plan was sound. I do think that the
game plan and what they said, what they set out
to do was intentional, and you could tell that they
were ready to go.

Speaker 5 (45:05):
So I agree with you that this.

Speaker 6 (45:06):
Coaching staff had these guys ready and it's just up
to the guys to do their part of things.

Speaker 5 (45:11):
Yeah, I got your percent.

Speaker 4 (45:13):
I'm glad you brought up the penalties.

Speaker 7 (45:14):
Thinks the note I had they had the fewest penalties
in the season opener since twenty fifteen.

Speaker 4 (45:20):
That doesn't go unnoticed. That's pretty discipline. Discipline, that is
what it's been. Discipline in culture.

Speaker 7 (45:26):
That has been Schottenheimer's platform since coming in here. And
he did both of those things in the week one.
What he also brought up that I liked was about
the adjustments. Matty Refluse Sam Williams in the locker room
said that extra hour and whatever change that they had,

(45:47):
that's the time he was talking to Eberflus, That's the
time he was talking to his guys and telling him, Okay,
this is working, this isn't. We saw them try some
blitzing that wasn't happening in the first half.

Speaker 4 (45:57):
The problem with blitzing is that it.

Speaker 7 (46:00):
Works or it doesn't. There's no one between, and you
saw a little bit of both. But it was the
fact that he made an attempt, like our beautiful friend
just called and said to adjustments.

Speaker 4 (46:08):
That's something. This is something that.

Speaker 7 (46:09):
Happened, So you'd rather try it and see. It's week one.
Why not see what you're good at, see what you're not.
The other thing, one hundred percent of the snaps were zone.
This is Ibrafluce's bread and butter.

Speaker 4 (46:24):
He should have.

Speaker 7 (46:24):
Talked about that time and time again, and he proved that.
And the thing about zone is you have to have
a pass rush, you have to have a strong four.
So that also lets me know that even what everybody's
saying about this, Michael Parson's drop off, Okay, Eberfluce don't care.

Speaker 4 (46:42):
He believes in what he has. So that's what stood
out to me.

Speaker 5 (46:46):
That's such a good point.

Speaker 6 (46:47):
I also believe that given that Trevon's on a pitch count,
still trying to get a feel for Elam. I think
some of it also to you know, drom Blam moving
into the slot, but he he's been playing in the
slot and outside. I do think that he's still building
trust with the secondary as well, ebra Flus, and I

(47:08):
do think that's it's gonna take some time and that's okay.
So I do think that maybe we'll see him get
a little bit more because he kept it pretty simple.

Speaker 5 (47:16):
He kept it pretty simple with some.

Speaker 4 (47:17):
Of his disguises and stuff.

Speaker 6 (47:18):
Maybe we'll get a little bit more as he builds
more trust with that secondary and then guys again get
their legs under them.

Speaker 5 (47:26):
Are our guys are healthy?

Speaker 6 (47:28):
Maybe we even see some guys shadow and stuff like that.
So I will say that's a fantastic point, Bree. I
think that the a lot of the zone he played
was a little safer, and I understand that, and I
understand that he's gonna play zone, but I'm talking about
the lack of disguising and changing the picture. I think
some of that was because he is he was trying
to keep the guys from not getting the penalties and

(47:50):
communication being good.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
Will we talk about the in game adjustments or some
adjustments that the Cowboys need to make heading into two
against the Giants, and we'll be breaking that down all
throughout the.

Speaker 5 (48:00):
Rest of the week.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
I want to thank our callers for by talking to
call again. I'm about to take Collins.

Speaker 4 (48:09):
It made my day. Wake up, I'll treat you y'all.

Speaker 2 (48:11):
All right, that's ropping the show today.

Speaker 3 (48:14):
We got Breonna Aldridge, Auston Warrison, Nicole.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Had to say, we'll see a'all back here tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (48:18):
At eight am.

Speaker 5 (48:20):
Wake Up. Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (48:22):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
