Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
Michael Bumpus.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Playfake going to roll right, dumps it off into the
right flass to Michael Bumpers, who bounce us off A
one tackler gets inside the forty down of the thirty
five yard line.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Matt pumpfake's looking at the gold line. He throws it
into the m zone. Touchdown, Say Hawks, it's Michael Thumps
with a diving catching the end zone. A ten yard
touchdown reception for Bumpus, and the kid out of Washington
State has found himself a place.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
On this team.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Now here's your host, Nasa Choviie.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk this season, regular
season Week eleven, Seahawks traveling lay to take on the Rams,
fresh off their thrilling twenty nine to twenty six victory
over the Washington Commanders. And before we get into those, guys,
just want to give you a little update from the
practice field. Veteran second year player now Abe Lucas, I
call him a veteran because he's an OG has been
(00:56):
designated to return to practice, which is great. Carol talked
about that last week, but very good to see him
out there. In his absence, We've seen Jake Kerhan, We've
seen still a fourth eight, We've seen Jason Peters out there,
so really good to see. But just a reminder, when
people coming off the IR can be designated or turn
to practice. That means they can practice for up to
twenty one days without being added to the roster. When
(01:18):
those twenty one days are over, then the team needs
to make a decision whether to elevate them the rest of
the year or keep them on IR.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
So definitely good. I know Bump is happy to see.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
His Koup back out there, a bluecas back on the
practice field.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
But let's flip it over to the team we're playing
this weekend, La Rams. What's on tap? What's on tap? Bump?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
These Rams three in six, third place in the NFC West.
They did have a shocking win over the Seahawks in
week one, beating them thirty two thirteen. They've lost games
to San Francisco, Cincinnati, Indiana or beat Indianapolis, lost of Philly,
lost to Pittsburgh, lost to Dallas, and lost to Green
Bay in the midst of a three game losing streak,
(02:02):
and they were competitive early on against the forty nine
ers and the Bengals and the Eagles. Last three weeks Bump,
they've been getting snickety smacked. It has not been close
as not being competitive the way that you'd think it
would be, so they're kind of in a weird place.
Matthew Stafford got hurt against the Cowboys. They turned to
Brett Rippon. Shout out to the Washington alumn there, Brett,
(02:24):
and then things did go well for Brett when he
filled in for Stafford, so unfortunately for him, they released
him the next week. But he's been snatched up by
the right team, the Seahawks. He's on the Seahawks practice
quite now, but head coach Sean McVay did talk about
the Rams are getting more healthy. Matthew Stafford looks like
he will be back this week, as well as Rob
havistin the right tackle, Ernest Jones their linebacker, and Bobby
(02:47):
Brown looks like they'll also be back this week. The
Rams also added Carson Wentz to kind of elevate that
qb room. So a lot of things going on in
La Bump. Yeah, man, lots of things going on in
that quarterback room. I think Carson wentz Man.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
He's a veteran, right, he'll make things a bit more
comfortable if Matthew Stafford were to go down. But let's
look at this team head to head, man the Seahawks
are six and three, Rams three and six. When it
comes to total offense, the Rams on paper, in with
the numbers, have a better offense than the Seattle Seahawks.
The Ring fourteenth overall, the Hawks are eighteen. Running the rock,
the Hawks are twenty fourth. The Rams are seventeenth.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Drawing the rock.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
The Rams are fourteenth, the Hawks are thirteenth. When it
comes to points per game, that's where the Hawks got them.
They're averaging twenty two points per game. The Rams are
averaging nineteen point eight per game. Now, defense, again, this
surprised me too. Now look at this, I go, there's
no way the Rams statistically have a better defense than
the Hawks. Yeah, I guess they dos ranked twentieth. The
(03:45):
Seahawks are ranked twenty fifth. I look at those numbers
and I go, all right, man, one bad game kind
of skewed all these numbers.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
But you know what it is, what it is. You
have to take the good and the bad.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
I still think on paper, personnel wise, this defense and
offense is better.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Are better than the Rams.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Yeah, man, when you look at that, I mean, it's
it's bizarre too, because you look at some of the
scores and you like, dang, the Rams have lost six games,
and some of them by a lot. But like you said,
losing thirty seven to three to the Ravens really skewed
all of these especially defensively, because they were really making
a climb back and where they were in all these rankings,
and then that kind of set them back. But yeah, Bob,
(04:24):
I'm the one thing that I like. I like the
turnover differential. The Rams re minus two, the Seahawks were
plus three. Then you look at sacks. The Seahawks have
thirty sacks and Rams only have nineteen. So there's a
couple of little advantage here and there. But statistically you're
right on paper, despite the opposite records, the Rams have
the slight edge. But as you said, I think the
roster's a little bit better for the Seahawks. But these
(04:47):
teams play all the time, every year, twice a year.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Let's know.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
To history, no your history, Bob, I'm gonna be quick here, man.
I think this was recent enough that it's still kind
of I'm happy to think us got over it. Seahawks
lost their last game at home in the season open
and losing thirty to thirteen to these Rams. The all
time series, the Seahawks are twenty seven and twenty five,
with the Rams having two edge in the postseason, but
(05:11):
bumped that first game.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Man shoot tail two halfs man.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
The Seahawks didn't pun in the first half, but pun
in every possession of the second half. The Rams scored
on every drive of the second half. The Rams dominated
time possession. They also did this without Cooper Cup and
that was kind of the league's introduction to Poka Nakua.
Seahawks scored just one touchdown that day. Third downs were
brutal Hawks or two of nine. Rams were eleven to seventeen.
(05:35):
I mentioned it at well Nicula. Each had one hundred
nineteen yards rushing or receiving, so they went off. And
one of the only positives that day was Bobby had
nineteen tackles in his return to Seattle. So definitely a
day the Seahawks would love to forget, and really just
a half they'd love to forget.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
People forget the Seahawks were winning that game. At halftime.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
It just looked so ugly in the second half that
it didn't go their way and it lost thirty to thirteen.
But that's in the past. Seahawks were playing a lot
better ball, the Rams were playing a lot less ball.
So we'll figure out what's going on there. But that's
a great segue to figure out what else happened in
the NFCUS.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
What's the word?
Speaker 4 (06:10):
What side side?
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Now?
Speaker 2 (06:13):
The Seahawks or the NFC West champs?
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Again, what's the word in the West? On Hawk talk?
Speaker 4 (06:21):
I just kind of crowded at the top in the
NFC West. He got the Seahawks at six and three,
the Niners of six and three as well.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
He talks about the Rams.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
They are three and six, and then the Cardinals get
to win last week they are two in able. Let's
focus on these forty nine ers and were they able
to bounce back after a bye week? Yes, they were, Man,
they beat the Jacks thirty four to three on the road.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Man.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Going into the bye, they lost three games in a row,
and this team looked different than the one we remember.
They were all world all team can lose a game,
but then they got humbled a little bit. Rock party
got back on track. He was nineteen of twenty six
for two ninety six and three touchdowns, had a QB
rating of one forty nine. One of those touchdowns win
s George Kittle, who have three receptions for a buck sixteen.
Goodness gracious and the sixty six yard touchdowns. Ain't too
(07:06):
many tight ends taking his sixty six yards for a touchdown,
He's one of them. Christian McCaffrey, he had a great finish.
He had one hundred and forty two yards, but his
streak of consecutive games with a touchdown ended at seventeen.
And they were trying to give it to him too.
They were trying to keep that thing going, just not
able to do it. He was tied with Lindy Moore
for the NFL record. The Nighters tried to get him
the ball, like I said, targeting him on five consecutive plays,
(07:28):
but just weren't able to get a domn I appreciate
the forty nine ers understanding history and saying let's get
our guy to rop.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
But you hear McCaffrey talk about it after the game.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
He appreciates it too and was like, look, we got
the win, so it's all good Deebo Samuel returned to
lineup as well. He had a twenty three yard touchdown,
and San Francisco dominated both lines of scrimmage and controlled
the game from the opening drive. The Niners ran for
a buck forty four against one of the league's top
run defenses and sacked Trevor Lawrence five times. Now, the Jags,
(07:57):
they're a good team, but you know when you play
against that night defense, things are going to happen. And
Jacks had a five possession stretch in which they fumbled,
they kicked the field goal, they threw an interception, they fumbled,
and through another interception.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
It was a tough day for these guys, say.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
The least, Yeah, you turned the ball over on four
to five possessions. You're not gonna win a lot of
games in any league that you're playing. And you mentioned
real quick about Shanahan trying to give him the record.
You try to get your guy record to a point
and then you're like, this is a blowout. This is
going to look real bad. If we're trying to get
him a touchdown, he gets hurt. So unfortunately for him,
(08:33):
he didn't get that record. Elsewhere in the division, the
Falcons and the Cardinals. You mentioned it, bump the Cardinals.
Look at them getting another win. Okay, I see Kyler, Yeah,
Kyler Murray made his trump a return after his Cardinals
had lost six consecutive games, hadn't won a game since
September twenty fourth, where they beat the Cowboys. Murray threw
(08:53):
for two hundred and forty nine yards and ran for
a touchdown, obviously returning from that torn acl Matt Prater
made a game winning twenty five three yard field goal
as time expired, and the Cardinals beat the Falcons twenty
five to twenty three. Murray had a couple of really
important plays on the game winning drive, you know, reminding
people why he was the number one pick slightly just
to get a sense of what their offense can look like.
(09:14):
He had a big thirteen yard scramble on a third
and ten after almost being sacked multiple times. Then he
hit Trey McBride on a thirty three yard pass that
set up that short field goal to win the game.
James Connrad had sixteen carries for seventy three yards, but
Trey McBride was the guy of the day there, leading
receiver one hundred and thirty one yards.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
On eight catches.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
On the other side, woo. The Falcons look brutal man
both quarterbacks and lent to their stat line real quick.
Heineke and Desmond Ridder twelve to twenty one, seventy yards total,
one touchdown. So goodness, Grace, I don't care who you're playing.
You were not gonna win a lot of games like that.
And we talked about the Rams on the bye week,
So Seahawks have a lot ahead of them. One more
(09:54):
game in the division before the Gauntlet starts with the
forty nine Ers, Cowboys and Eagles. So it's gonna get
into if the Seahawks want to win this division and
needs to start this week against the Rams.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Man up this man, Man up on Hawk Talk.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
All right, let's start with Matthew Stafford. This guy is
looking to come back against the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Is looking good so far. Man.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
In the last time he played against the Seahawks, he
did his thing.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
I mean he was twenty four thirty eight, three thirty four.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
He led the Rams to eleven of seventeen on third
downs and through for seventeen first sounds. He could do
no wrong that first week Cooking New Cool was there.
I'm sure We're going to talk about him in a minute,
but they look good. They dominated a time of possession
thirty nine minutes to twenty minutes. And his career stats
against Seattle, He's completing sixty five percent of his passes
(10:52):
over two thousand yards, ten touchdowns at nine interceptions. He's
been sacked twelve times in seven games. He will turn
the football over. We know that about Matthew Stafford. They're
gonna ask him to throw it a lot. He will
turn the football over. So far this year, he's completing
fifty nine percent of his passes for two thousand yards,
eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. He's been sacked nineteen times.
Don't sleep on them now. We know that he can
(11:14):
get hot his twenty twenty three career. Excuse me, his
twenty twenty three numbers are down for some of his
career numbers right. His fifty nine completion percentage he only
played eight games, will be the worst since twenty thirteen,
I was his fifth year in the league. He's also
on pace for just sixteen touchdowns excluding last season, where
he only played in ten games.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
That will be the fewest since twenty ten.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
This guy's getting old and he's getting banged up, so
that's affecting his numbers.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Man. When defensive, Seahawks bounced back.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
They had a pretty good performance through three quarters against
the Commanders, and then in the fourth quarter they got
a little shaky. They allowed two long touchdowns, eight plays
for seven three yards, and ten plays for seventy one yards.
The Hawks are twenty fifth in defense, like we talked
about their twenty second against the pass, and the Rams
are the fourteen ranked offense, averaging three hundred and thirty
five yards per game. They also have the fourteen rate
(12:00):
passing offense with two hundred thirty one yards per game.
So look, Matthew Stafford is back, Cooper Cup is healthy,
Pooka Nakoua is there, Cayvin Williams is banged up, so
you're not gonna see him in the backfield. Yeah, respect
the game, Respect the team. They could be in Saint Louis,
they can be in LA. You play the Rams, you
gotta be ready to go.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
It doesn't matter who you talk to.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
If you're a Seahawk fans and you see the Rams
lining up, you're taking that game seriously. Obviously after what
happened in Week one. Doesn't matter if you're talking to
kJ Wright or Brian Walters or whoever.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
We talk to you all the time.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
From those Super Bowl teams, they said, those who are
our toughest games, even when they had the legion of
Boom defense and all that. So the Rams are gonna
be tough, especially with who they got as a head coach.
Sean McVay will make things difficult for you no matter what,
even if you lose. He's gonna make you think. He's gonna,
you know, test every defensive coordinator out there. So Clint
hurts up, gonna have his handful there. Flipping over to
(12:51):
our side, the quarterback Gino Smith taking on the Rams defense.
Gino responded in a big way against the Commanders, one
of his best games ever. He won thirty one to
forty seven, three hundred and sixty nine yards, two touchdowns,
no turnovers. His three sixty nine yards is a career high,
beating his previous high of three sixty seven against this
Rams team last December. He had another career high in
(13:12):
attempts with forty seven. And this is the thing that
I think they got lost a little bit in the
narrative Fallow. In that game, Gino came up big in
the clutch. Gino now has three game winning drives this season. Reminder,
that's defined as a drive that gave his team the
lead for good in the fourth quarter or overtime. That
is his thirteenth career game winning drive in just sixty starts.
(13:33):
For context, Gino has led game winning drives in twenty
one percent of his starts, so almost every one of
four he's leading a game winning drive. So I don't
want to hear the narrative that he's not clutched. Can
we put that bleep to bed? Thank you very much.
That's my ted talk for this evening. After turning the
ball over eight times the past four weeks, Gino finished
(13:55):
the game with no turnovers against Commanders.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
That's what's huge.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
When you compare the stats from last year, he's just
off about two hundred yards short of the passing yards,
touchdowns minus four, and interceptions plus three, but his numbers
are close. He we know what he can do. He
showed us what he can do a little bit Commanders.
So that was a great game. And you know, going
up against his ram defense, they're not as great as
they have been in years past, or twentieth in total
(14:18):
defense in fourteenth against the past.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
So it'll be interesting to see what we do there.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
But I'm really looking forward to Gino and have another
consistent performance against his Rams team.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Yeah, Man, Gino is a quiet assassin, and I think
his mistakes are blown out of proportion and his successes
aren't given enough attention. So I'm glad that you pointed
that out. Let's talk about this receiving core for the Rams.
Man Cooper Cup is healthy. You got Pookah, you also
(14:49):
have tow two over there. Man Hookah has been something special,
and now you add Cooper Cup, they gotta be one
of the deadliest duos in the league.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
People forget Man.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Just a years ago Cooper Cup at the Triple Crown,
one hundred and forty five receptions for nineteen hundred and
forty seven yards and sixteen touchdowns left some four receptions
short of the single single record held by Michael Thomas.
That also left him to seventeen yards short of Calvin
Johnson's single single record of nineteen sixty four. So let
me say nineteen hundred and sixty four the one shot
(15:21):
I think Coyvien was playing back in nineteen sixty four.
My mama wasn't even born back there. But since then,
Coop's missed a lot of games.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Man. He missed twelve games in the last two years.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
He missed the first four games, but he had back
to back one hundred yard games once to return to
the lineup. But during the three game losing streak, Cooper's
only had eight receptions for ninety eight yards the zero touchdowns.
So far this year twenty three receptions for three sixty
four in one touchdown. Now, the guy who looked good
in his absence poola int the cool He went to
U DUB, went to BYU, drafted in the fifth round
(15:51):
in twenty twenty three. When he played the Hawks in
Week one, he had ten receptions for one nineteen.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
It was crazy. No one knew who he was.
Speaker 4 (15:59):
I mean, you knew who he was because of him
going to U DUB and BYU. But man, he hit
the scene, man, and he's still balling. Sixty four receptions
eight twenty seven and two touchdowns, got six in the
NFL in yards, seventh in targets. Man, he's ninety yards
away from breaking the Rams rookie receiving record. Safe to
say he's going to do that and just hope he
didn't do it against us. Now you got too to
(16:20):
add well, I like this guy, man, he's a versatile
type of player.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Man. It's the second round pick in twenty twenty one.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
This year he has thirty two receptions for three seventy
four and three touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
So they see.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
What what Spoon looks like against these guys, what Reet
looks like, what Trey Brown looks like.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
This is gonna be a nice group.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
I think this is the performance wise, probably the best
duo all year that these guys have faced.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
You can look at Jamar and Higgins.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
Jamar didn't really play that well when the Hawks played them.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
But this is gonna be a tough one.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Yeah, they'll exploit you, for sure, like Cooper Cup and
Pook Nicole will find ways to get open. If you're
not doing what you're supposed to be doing in the
middle of field, they'll exploit you. And then Cooper Cup
can also take you over the top. That's the other
thing people forget about him. He's not just a stepthily fast.
It's okay to just say he's fast.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
He's fast? Is that okay? Can I say that? We
can say that?
Speaker 3 (17:06):
So, yeah, they're gonna They're gonna make things hard on
the defensive back. So Trey Brown and Witherspoon, I'm pretty
sure they'll be up for the task. And now there's
another guy in the middle of their defense that we've
known for a long time. His name's Aaron Donald, and
this matchup is Aaron Donald versus our body. Because we
say this every time we play the Rams, but it's true. Man,
(17:27):
He's still one of the greatest players of this generation,
without question. Nine time Pro Bowler, seventeen first team All Pro,
three time AP Defensive Player of the Year. In his
tenth season with the Rams, he's still leading them in
sacks and CFLs. On the season, Donald's got thirty seven tackles,
five and a half sacks and eleven TFLs, and the
week one against the Seahawks, he had four tackles in
(17:48):
half a sack. Since entering the league in twenty fourteen,
Aaron Donald has fifteen and a half sacks against the Seahawks,
making his making that the second most sack team of
his career. Donald's also been healthy this year, missing starting
and playing in all nine games, but last year he
was It was the first year he'd ever missed any
significant time. He missed six games last year. Prior to that,
(18:08):
he'd only missed two games in his entire career. So,
as usual, find out where ninety nine is and you
better have at least one or two guys on him
because he is incredibly talented.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
So you know, if he gets half a sack, that's
a win for me. That's a win. One sack, I'll
take one sack. Yeah, oh TfL. I mean, I guess
you get a sack. That is a TfL.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
He is top five in the league with TFLs. Yeah,
so maybe one two, maybe one, yeah, one sack of okay.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Within the Seahawks, you know, have had struggles a couple
times as of late, but on the season they've only
allowed nineteen sacks, So that's eighth best in the league.
Kansas City's number one, allowing just twelve sacks. So figure
out where Aaron Donald is. Exploit him, block him, Evan Brown,
all those guys. Make sure ninety nine is covered up.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
Yep, ninety nine is a problem. I was trying to
think of like a jay Z bar right, there, got
ninety nine problems and Aaron Donald as all of them.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Yes, Hey, there we go. It took you out to
think about it, but you got it.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
You know, hey, I got it. I got it all right.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
Next matchup, DK and Tyler Lockett throwing jays in two
against this Rams secondary our duo had their best games
so far combined this year fifteen receptions, one hundred and
ninety yards and one touchdown combined, and JSN got the
party going early.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
He had four receptions for fifty three yards.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
The combo DK, Tyland JSN combined for nineteen receptions two
hundred and forty three yards and one touchdown. The best
game by these three so far. These are the type
of games that you're looking for. We're hoping that means
there is more to come. The Hawks still haven't had
honeyard receiver since Week three, and DK missed that mark
by two yards.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
He had ninety eight yards this pass game.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
The Rams are fourteenth in the NFL when it comes
to allowing yards through the air two hundred and seventeen
per game. The Rams top corners. We know one of
these guys right at Kello Witherspoon. He was with us
for a little bit. He had He has twenty three tackles,
six passes, defending two interceptions.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Got Kobe Duraant.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
He's got thirty one tackles, five passes defendant, and you
have Darren Kendrick. He has thirty tackles, four passive defendant
and two TFLs. Deacann Tyler had the ability to climb
up the leader board when it comes to history this week, man,
we're talking about receptions and yards and all that stuff,
and touchdown we got dk He needs one touchdown to
(20:20):
pass Steve Larger and Joey Galloway for first place for
the most receiving touchdowns in the play its first five
seasons in franchise history.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
He's got thirty eight.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
He needs one touchdown and pass Joey Galloway for fifth
place on Seattle's all time receiving touchdown list with thirty eight.
He needs ninety yards to pass my guy Bobby Ingram
for sixth place on Seattle on Seattle's all time receiving
yards with four eight and sixty. He needs forty eight
yards to pass Steve Larger for second place for the
most receiving yards in a players first five seasons in
(20:48):
franchise history. He needs two touchdowns to pass Sherman Smith
for tenth place on Sales all time total touchdowns list
with thirty nine. All right, you're ready for Tyler, now man,
these dudes come, so Tyler Lockett. He needs three or
sevens to pass Brian Blaze for second place on Seattle's
all times receptions list with five hundred and eighty two.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Goodness Graces have five.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
He's twenty seven yards to pass Brian Blaze for second
place on Seattle's all time receiving yards list with seven
six hundred and twenty one. He needs one touchdown to
pass Kurt Warner for fourth place on Seattle's all time
total touchdowns list with sixty three, and he needs one
one hundred yard game to tie Darryl Jackson for second
place for the most one hundred yard games in Seattle's
history with nineteen. Might as well just knock them all
(21:31):
out on Sunday, Just get all he's done.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
It's close. I think they can get all of them.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Realistically, I wasn't even sure if you're going to go
through that whole list, but my goodness, you had a breath.
I mean, might as well as well. These boys are close.
I mean, that's it could be. We're gonna have all
these to you since we put it out there. We're
gonnait him all this weekend. Bump will tell you about
every single one of them in.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
The post game. So let's get it.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
So that being said, let's tell you guys how the
Seahawks are going to get this victory. Down in La
Path to victory.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
After forty five waits for the staff, Michael Dixon puts
it down.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
That kick is away. If that kick.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Is gone, to stay off.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
When it's gone.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
It's a path to victory on Hawk Talk.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Another big divisional matchup, and this is one where the
Seahawks can prove that Week one was a total fluke.
Every division game is important, you know, especially with two
games against the forty nine ers looming, and this is huge.
You know, one of Pete Carroll's goals and you walk
downstairs in the locker room, one of the things that
says own the NFC West, that's always one of their goals.
And it starts by winning all those games. After you're
(22:35):
dropping one, you've lost one in division, you're two and one.
So figure out a way to get this done and
continue that role ball rolling into San Francisco the following
week and the other thing to get after Matthew Stafford.
He cannot be comfortable the way he was in Week
one where he diced everybody up, and you can't allow
him to pick you apart across the middle in that
passing game. I really love where the Seahawks secondary is
(22:56):
right now. I love how they're playing. I just think,
you know, the key to getting after Stafford is making
him not feel comfortable.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
He's not a runner.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
He's not gonna scramble all around the place like Lamar
Jackson or even Sam Howell for that matter.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
So make him uncomfortable and take the ball away. Yeah,
how do you do that? Blitz that man? The Hawks
blitz about twenty two percent of the time. It's making
it about thirty five this week, maybe about thirty five.
Put some pressure on him, and you can't let the
receivers go off.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Man.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
Pooka's already done it once, all right, and we don't
need to see Cooper Cup do it at all. Press's
guys off the line of scrimmage. Make life tough for
these dudes. Build off of what you did last week.
You saw some things, Gino, you won yourself a ball game.
Defense was great for three quarters, kind of slipped up
at the end. But you're checking some boxes, all right,
So keep checking those boxes. Hand the football to Zach,
(23:44):
hand the football to Ken and let them do their thing.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Yeah, man, that sounds like a great playing bump feel
like you know what you're talking about.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
Man.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
A little bit in a little sometime, just a bit.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
And the last thing I'll says, be better on third down,
third down. The fact the Seahawks are making strides in
and then the Ravens game happened, and then last game
was a little off. But stay on the field, extend drives,
win time, possession, and then once they do that, there's
no there's no tone what this offense can do.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Go one and know this week take down the Rams
on the road.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Set us up for a huge stretch of Niners, Cowboys, Niners, Eagles.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
I think this team's up for the challenge.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Can't wait to watch it happen this Sunday, Seahawks taking
