Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hey, Colts fans, I'm JJ Sankowitz. Welcome into another episode
of The Colt Show in Indianapolis.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Colts podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Please give us a five star review, Please rate, review,
and subscribe to us wherever you get your podcast. All
of those five star reviews, all of those likes, all
those subscriptions help get our podcasts out to more people.
We really appreciate every single one of them. And this
is a fun one. I had a ton of fun
doing this episode. I had a chance to sit down

(00:32):
with eight players on the first day of our creative
content shoot we have. You know, it's that thing that
you know, you see it up on the video board,
all those cool things that you do for that you
see for player intros, things like that. A lot of
creative stuff that you're going to see in our graphic
design this year in some production elements. But I had
a chance to talk about all these players. So they're

(00:53):
in full uniform. By the way, I think this might
be the only podcast you're going to see NFL players
in full uniform being interviewed on. I'm not aware of
any other situation where they would be literally in a
full uniform sitting down in front of a couple podcast
microphones talking, So that was a pretty cool experience. The
guys who are coming up on today's episode in order,

(01:14):
Daniel Jones, Neville Gallimore, who I teased it last week,
but like the Neville Gallamore one was awesome. That dude's great.
What a storyteller he is. Kenny Moore the second hopped
on Cam Bindham, hopped on, Anthony Richardson, Alec Pierce, Justin
Wally and JT. Tuey Moolowau all hopped on my little
podcast set up for this episode. Had some really interesting

(01:36):
insights from them. I'm talking about the pacers talking about
their just some of their experiences. I asked everyone a
question that I love asking any professional athlete, which is,
if the NFL never existed, what sport are you playing professionally?
Got some really fun answers out of those guys. Anyways,
let's get to it right now because this is going
to be a long episode, but it's a really good one.

(01:58):
Really excited to share it. Here go, here's media Day
Part one here on The Colt Show. All right, Daniel
Jones is here in full uniform on content day. Okay,
tell me about putting pads on Is it like a
pain in the butt to put on pads?

Speaker 3 (02:15):
No, I mean I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
I don't have this tough time some guys do because
they got the real tight jerseys with the real tight sleeves.
I like to keep the you know, the the loose
sleeves so they're not pulling on my shoulder or anything
I'm throwing.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
So that also helps.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
It helps it, you.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Know, fit on a little bit easier. So I don't
have too tough a time. But I see some of
the guys struggle with it on game day, and I
get some you know, some strength coaches and equipment guys
pulling the pulling their pads down.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
That's that's something that like, just like putting on pads
is something that I don't totally like get. But what's
something about playing in the NFL that like most people
who don't play in the NFL just could never know.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
I think playing in the NFL, I mean you realize
how many people it takes to to run an operation
to you know, to help uh, you know, just practice
one day, or just get ready for game day, or
travel on the road, or you know, eat in the
cafeteria or just how many people are involved in a
football organization and a football team. You know, I feel

(03:17):
like it's got to be got to be unique to football.
You don't really understand until you're you're in it every day.
But there's you know, so many people in this building
from you know, the kitchen staff, the equipment guys, the
strength staff, the obviously the coaches, the video people, the
you know, the market and you know, you get into
the business side of it, is like there's so many

(03:37):
people involved in a football program and just you know
what a big operation it is to you know, everyone's
goal is to win games on Sunday. So I think
that part of it is is cool and you don't
really realize until you're in one of these buildings working
every day, you know, kind of behind the scenes with it.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
That's really good perspective. And as a quarterback, as someone
who other people on the team look to do, you
kind of have to like you kind of set that
tone of like, hey, it does take everyone. We can't
take any of these people who impact us for granted.
Is that something you've kind of taken on.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Over your career, Uh, yeah, one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
I think you know, I think you also realized that
a lot of guys understand that pretty quickly and and
do do really you know, appreciate it. And uh, and
see all the work that goes into to us being
able to play on Sunday and and everyone's job is
important in that. And I think the more years you
spend in the NFL, and and you know, you see

(04:36):
it and you realize that you know this, what happened
right here really did make a difference. Or you know,
me getting that cut up made those video guys go
find you know, find those clips. Making that cut up
for me so I could share it with the receivers.
Really didn't make a difference on this one play. And
and uh, you know what whatever it is or this
you know exercise of the strength coach, you know he
watched me at practice, thought this could help me if

(04:57):
he put this in my workout program.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
I did it.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
And then wow, you know that showed up. You know,
I'm you know, moving a little better, or my mechanic
clean up a little bit that way, and you know,
all that kind of stuff feeds into to one goal.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
And I think.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
You know when you're in it, and when you when
you have some of those experiences you realize how important
you know, every step along the way is all right.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
This is one of my favorite questions to ask players.
Let's say football never existed as a sport. It just
it doesn't get invented.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
What sport?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
I mean, you're you're a great athlete. What sport are
you playing professionally right now? What is Daniel Jones doing
right now? If if like a football just never was invented.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
I'd love to say golf.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
If I, you know, I kind of gotten into golf
at a young age and developed a swing and like
really gotten serious about it, that would be that would
certainly be ideal. But the way I grew up or
just you know, me and my brother played a lot
of basketball. Sisters played too, but me and my brother especially,
we were always playing basketball. And then you know, North

(05:59):
Carolina is a big basketball state. It's not you know,
Indiana is maybe the basketball state, but North Caroline is
up there, and uh so you play a lot of
basketball there. And then uh so so maybe that I
mean he went on to play uh Division one basketball,
still plays a ton ton of basketball. Uh and his
rec leagues up in New York. So you know, I

(06:20):
mean I think maybe if I had gone down that
path and and uh, I don't know it would have
been a tough road.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
You're playing for the Pacers right now.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
I don't know that.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Would have been a tough road.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
It's hard to hard to make it.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
In basketball, those guys are really really good.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Are you a good golfer?

Speaker 6 (06:33):
No?

Speaker 5 (06:35):
Are you really?

Speaker 7 (06:36):
No?

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Okay, yeah, I think I'm working on my I'm working
on my game, but I'm not. I wouldn't call myself
a good golfer. Appreciate it, Daniel, thanks for having me.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Here with Neville Gallimore, defensive tackle for the Colts. I
know you're pretty new here in Indy, but what has
the what is the Pacers run?

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Maybe taught you about this?

Speaker 8 (07:01):
Oh man, it really just taught me how electric the
city is. One thing that jumped off the tape since
I got here. You could tell like the I don''t
you guys call y'allselves, but the Indie fans, the nap
Town fans, like you guys go hard for.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Your sports teams. You know.

Speaker 8 (07:15):
I had a chance to go watch that last game
that they played, and like the stands, the fans were
crazy and even just talking to the guys like they
definitely say, like, you know, Colts Nation is super turned
so I'm definitely looking forward to that.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
You played in big cities La Dallas. Like how different
is indye as a as like a market, it's like
a fan base compared to those two really big cities
with big fan bases.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
It's definitely different.

Speaker 8 (07:41):
But the funny thing is, I think it's it's definitely
a turnt over here. Kind of reminds me of where
I was, aut of Oklahoma. Small town, but they they
go hard for their for their team. You know, That's
the one thing. Like everybody here is cool, but the
one thing that jumps off the tape, like Coats fans
are everywhere, Pacers fans everywhere, and like the community stands

(08:01):
ten toes down for the squad. And I feel like
that jumps out compared to being in the major cities
because you know, you think, you know, Dallas, California, Miami,
there's so much going on.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
Indianapolis, it's Colt's paces.

Speaker 8 (08:13):
You know, obviously you got your college teams, but I
feel like that's one thing I love. It's kind of
like your you know, college time with your NFL town.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
You know. So I'm looking forward to get an opportunity
to compete here.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
What is something that people who don't play in the NFL,
who've never played in the NFL cannot understand about playing
in the NFL, Like what it takes to play in
the NFL.

Speaker 8 (08:32):
Oh, I feel like, you know, I always like to
use a term like even just from my process to
get to this point, it's a burning desire to play
at this level. And the thing is what people don't understand,
you know, especially when fans who don't really know the game,
it's you're playing against the best of the best. You know,
like if you're not paying it to everybody was the

(08:53):
guy at what point in their life, college, wherever they
play ball at and now you're going up against a
guy who was four year starter, captain and the best
player on their team. And you're going against the best
of the best. So that's the thing, And you know,
it's funny, like you know, you see a guy like myself,
or you see even from let's start with the big guys,
everybody's a freak.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
So it's like a freak amongst freaks. You got a
guy who's.

Speaker 8 (09:15):
Six six, three thirty runs a four to six, runs
of four to seven. You got somebody who's six feet,
you know, two ninety five, who's running just as fast
as a linebacker. So I feel like it is a
whole bunch of different beasts. That's why, you know, if
you look at it, you know in the past NBA world,
you know, you got guys and go to high school
to the NBA football. No matter how good you are,

(09:37):
you just can't do that. You'll get killed.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
You'll just get killed.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
So, okay, I think that's the biggest thing. I think
I know the answer that you're gonna give. But who's
the biggest freak you ever played with?

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Like offensive defense, either side.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Of the ball, either practiced against them or practiced with them.

Speaker 8 (09:53):
The biggest freak I will just I'm gonna say, just
even just look at them. And I think I got
at the later time, but that a Tyron Smith.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Yeah, I was saying for the Cowboys.

Speaker 8 (10:04):
Yeah, you know, mind you I was at three. I
got a chance to go against it a couple of times.
It's just it's not every day you see a guy
who's again six seven three twenty five has a legit
six pack, strong as an ox. And that's funny story.
I remember just a little short story.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
I remember here for stories.

Speaker 8 (10:21):
I was getting done doing my bench and I think, I,
you know, three eighty five four reps, like I was
feeling good.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
You know, okay, that's something that playing in the NFL
three eighty five I can get like one hundred and
fifteen and I'm like, oh, this is awesome.

Speaker 8 (10:34):
Hell yeah, So that's the thing. Right, So then you're
amongst you know, d lineman or just other big old lineman.
So again three eighty five four reps. Actually I think
it was six, but solid like I'm good. Pump Tying
comes up to me. He's like, hey, man, you're done.
I'm like, oh yeah, man, I'm on racket.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
You know you good. He's like, oh no, no, I'm
gonna warm up here. I was like, hey, brodn't don't.
Don't don't do me like that.

Speaker 9 (11:00):
Man.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
He's like nah, no, you know, man. A few words.

Speaker 8 (11:04):
He gets on a bench, legs up, cross his legs
kind of to get the court working, and he pot
he pumps up like ten.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
And I was like yo, So like first said right,
He's like no, I'm just warming up.

Speaker 8 (11:16):
I said, yeah, man, he got it, he got it,
And I mean I'm strong, I'm i can say I'm
labeled as a strong guy, but then you just got
guys at a different level, and it's funny just coming here.
You know, Grover is definitely one of those guys who's
like that dude just throws up weight like he doing
a alternate inclined bench one seventies. I'm over here one sixties,

(11:38):
like yelling, huffing and puffing, and he's like, let me
get that bit.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Okay, but you're doing that's a one hundred and seventy
pounds free weight. Yeah, so like literally, so I weigh
a hundred seventy pounds, He's literally got one of me
in this hand doing that.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
He's got one of you that he's holding up.

Speaker 8 (11:52):
Yeah, he's got another one of you that I got
a little bit less.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
Than you, but I need, like you know.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
That's still it's still ridiculous. It's like hard for me
to comprehend. Okay, I like asking guys this, Neville, You're
you're a great athlete. Let's say the football never existed,
like it never got invented, the actual football, the game
of football never existed on this planet. But you are
such a good athlete that you made it to the
NFL what sport are you playing professionally right now?

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Soccer?

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Okay, why.

Speaker 8 (12:29):
I wasn't expecting you to give me to ask I
should have known you're gonna ask me to Why not?
I feel like good feet fast, and I'm assuming you're
saying football is never invented.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Never been invented, this doesn't exist at all.

Speaker 8 (12:43):
Okay, So I also so now knowing that is also
knowing that I don't have to eat like I've eaten, right,
So I'll probably be a leaner. I'll probably be a
lot faster than i'll probably because my first point I
ever played with soccer competitive.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
I played left back, so defense can see that.

Speaker 8 (12:57):
So I think I probably six' to two eighty five fast,
lean but y'ada soccer.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Guy bombing down the wing For.

Speaker 8 (13:04):
Liverpool, maybe, yeah weird though it's like A Tottenham.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Hotspurs you're you're that's.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Tough it's.

Speaker 8 (13:10):
Weird it's, weird but you, Know i'll go To. Liverpool
i'll probably, basketball, okay six two point a point, guard
got a little, pump fake scrap and go you, know
yeah in.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
There, YEAH.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
I like a probably like A Jamior nelson. Type so
let's go, Back let's go.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
BACK i love That Sat Saint.

Speaker 8 (13:28):
Joseph, yeah, yeah IF i had to Like tyrre's got
a little his bag a little. Different, yeah you know
he got a. Lot he kind of you never know
what he's gonna give.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
You so, okay right, On Nevill, gallimore appreciate your.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Time.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Man all right here With colts Cornerback Kenny moore the Second,
KENNY i know you've been going to a bunch Of
pacer games even before the playoff, run but seeing this
team make the run of the, finals what is it
shown you or maybe taught you about this city Of, Indianapolis.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Just how much they love the, sports just how much
what we do as athletes really embodies of the, city
and how much support they'll bring with. It AND i
went to my first, Game game four Versus New york
and it was a Loud environment's an environment that you,

(14:18):
KNOW i want to be in every Single, sunday you,
know playing at home And Lucas. Oil so but they
have the, team they have the team to go all
the way and they're in a big dance and you
know seeing, them you just want the same thing for you,
know your your. Team so how they're they bring the city.
Together we want to do the same.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
THING i was gonna, say, like that's gonna be a
little inspirational to see the way the city has supported
them and really rallied around, them you, know for what
you guys can do as The.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Colts basketball is the origin right here In, indiana but
The colts in, general they bring that same type of
energy for, us you, know not even just. COMPARING i
hope they do win it all AND i hope they,
do uh do it for the state Of, Indiana, indiana
and it'd be good to have that that type of
momentum going into the. CITY i think they're really putting

(15:09):
the city on the map and for, athletes for, sports
and we want to just keep it.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Going oh, yeah let's go all, right this is a
totally this is a. Pivot but who's the most dad
person on The? Colts who gives off the most dad
energy in that?

Speaker 4 (15:25):
Lockero most dad? Energy? Yeah, uh that's a that's an interesting.
Question i'll go.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Defo, YEAH i kind of thought of. It it's very.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
EASY i think he got here around how old was
he when he got?

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Here twenty six, maybe, yeah probably twenty, six twenty, seven, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
But he was already like, married got, Kids like he's
well on his third.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Kid, yeah it just has third. Kid.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
YEAH i like everything About. DEFAULT i think anybody can
say the same. Thing just what he, represent what he
what he mean to his, family our team and this
being a family. Environment he just he fits with the
system very very.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Well so what have you maybe seen from you, know
a bunch of legends coming back, this you, know for
like Mister say's, service and you, know just kind of
being around a little, bit what maybe just was impressed
upon you by just seeing all these guys come back
or just seeing them around over the last couple of.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
DAYS i guess in the last week you just see
how much of an impact Mister ers really meant to
The coats organization and The, Colts like the purpose behind The,
colts the family orientation THAT i feel like we have around.
Here you, know you know it definitely instilled within him

(16:47):
and he created that type of environment and you really
begin to learn that over this last. WEEK i think
everything That i've seen and heard, about you, know his
entire legacy uh here as An indianapolis, colte it's been
very very consistent on how how big of a heart

(17:08):
he had and no matter, what he was always teaching those,
lessons like if you see people who work, hard you,
know definitely do your best to give them their. Flowers
and that's something that he's instilled in his. Daughters so
it's cool to see their family dynamic on display with
action and not just by word or you, know through

(17:34):
the grape, vine because you saw it on. Display so
it Was it's pretty. Cool and as a guy who
who values giving AND i think giving is important and
just being an advocate of mental health and all those,
THINGS i do believe That i'm, Home LIKE i feel
like this is the place that you, know that represent
WHAT i care about a. Lot so it gives me

(17:55):
a door to like be myself and gives me the
green light to okay it. Is it is cool to
like be in a community and represent so much more
because we all. Do AND i Think i've always said
THAT i think it's our role to give and to
really see how much that he. Gave AND i KNOW

(18:17):
i haven't even heard all the stories, yet you know
WHAT i, mean there's a lot. Exactly, yeah but What
i've seen through my own eyes of Mister ersa is
it was. Incredible, man it was really. Incredible SO i
think any guy and his team will want to be
just one percent of what he. Represented, yeah love.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
That all, right we're Gonna we're gonna have one more pivot. Here,
Yeah so let's say football never. EXISTED i asked you
this a couple of years. Ago but let's say football
never existed as a. Sport you're a great. Athlete what
are you playing? Professionally and you said soccer three years.
Ago you're still playing center mid for Brusha.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Dortmund, No i'm actually playing center mid or attack mid
for Like.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Liverpool, okay, oh now you're winning The Premier.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
League i'm going that. Thing that's the best sock in the.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
World it.

Speaker 7 (19:05):
Is.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Yeah, yeah we had A i just Said Nevill gallimore
on he's A tottenham fan and he was a little
sheepish and't.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
That, yeah it's tough. Scene we Got harrison behind the
cameras A liverpool fans. Grinned that's my. Year that's your.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
GUY i got a lot of friends From liverpool, fans,
naturally and you begin to learn that over the years
And i'm, like that's that's why you my, Guy, like
that's why.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Who do you gravitate toward watching in, soccer like it's
like a play.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Players, YEAH i MEAN i WISH i Wish ronaldo was
still ON tv a. LOT i think that was that
was always my player growing up THAT i wanted to
like watch and see and somebody that you want to
see in. Person But i'm Watching liverpool whenever they have
it on you, Know peacock or whatever channel they have
for us to. See that's WHAT i like about the off.

(19:51):
Season he's able to see The English Premier league On
saturdays and stuff like.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
That do you when you watch soccer or basketball or
you know another, sport do you like when you look
at elite players in that like A ronaldo or like you,
know A tyreeze or any of those, Guys, like do
you take anything away from?

Speaker 4 (20:07):
THAT i think it would. BE i THINK i think
it's hard not to take take away. SOMETHING i Think
ronaldo is just so great because he's such a hard.
Worker like he's a worker and he's processed driven like
whatever whatever is given to. Him you, know he missed

(20:27):
he missed a kick P k like last year or
two years, ago AND i remember him coming out with
a podcast like, afterwards but his mom was at that,
game and like he was, crying like because he saw
his mom at the game and he like missed a
kick to like progress him in a tournament or whatever For.

(20:47):
Portugal And i'm not sure if that that was the,
reason but his mom was at the game and like
she he saw her in the in the stands or,
whatever and so he was like really emotional in crowd and.
Stuff but, UH i don't. Know it just gravitate to
his style of, play just for his stature and how
agile he is and how much how much work he

(21:09):
put into. It he's a family. Guy like it's hard
not to root for for guys like. That but, YEAH
i love to watch players around any any type of,
league even if it's. Baseball you kind of just gravitate
to certain players just from like play style and swagger
and stuff like. That so uh and you you kind

(21:29):
of take away from like what they give to their
team or fan base or, whatever and you kind of
check out their, instagram check out their the brand to
see if you know you value those.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Things, KENNY i could talk to you, forever but you
got stuff to, do you got photos to.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
TAKE i think there's a, line then there's a line over.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
There, yeah BUT i MEAN i can go over here
and go back to some trick shots if you.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
WANT i, Mean blue's been trying to hit a ping
pong ball into a little cup.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
FOR i got really Close jac's. Touch, look he's a, linebacker.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
BUT tv he used to be one of you. Guys
his touch is really. Strong this is making great podcast
contract right.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
HERE i got you for our. Listeners.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
NICE i think he's a little closer THAN i. Was,
yeah but it's.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
Good tome appreciate, it Bron, kenny appreciate. It man.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
All right here with safety cam buying them first player
in team history to wear number.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Zero it's an.

Speaker 10 (22:30):
Honor it's an honor just being the first to do
anything in a. Franchise and for me to be a new. Guy,
also it's, like in my, MIND i got to earn
THE i gotta make them be grateful that they gave
it to somebody like me that will come in here
and be a leader and be a. Worker SO i
think that it's super cool just me being able to
get a single, digit BECAUSE i know the only person

(22:51):
in history Was Stefan gilmour too for a defensive player
to wear a single. Dish, OKAY i like that now
that they gave this to. ME i feel LIKE i
have to go earn the right to wear this number
every single. Day but it's an honor because it's. Swaggy
you played it, IS i mean it's. NOT i can't
So i'm also The i'm also THE pa. ANNOUNCER i can't.
BE i can't wait to announce number zero or even a.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
NUMBER i think.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Zero oh that's, existential, man that brought my. Brain zero
is a, number but it's.

Speaker 10 (23:18):
Not trust is when people have zero on one, team
then double zero.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Like the papers they got And benedict mav.

Speaker 5 (23:24):
Exactly that threw me. Off it as a, joke.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
They Announced tyresee as Wearing oh do you want to
be announced as wearing?

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Zero is a?

Speaker 5 (23:32):
Letter that's one of my pet.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
Peeves and people, say, okay so you want to be
zero from Cal safety number zero, Cambine i'm buying. Them,
Okay i'm glad we just worked this out. Here now
you know how to screen my name on the. WEEKEND i,
mean that's they pay me to be. Loud it's, great.
Perfect what has been around this? Team and you, know
just kind of get your feet wet? Here what have

(23:54):
you learned about this? City Of. Indianapol it's not even
spent a ton of time here, yet but what's maybe
just your your first impression of this.

Speaker 10 (24:00):
CITY i say that they love their, sports with, basketball with.
Football just WHENEVER i see a picture of a video
of a game In Lucas, oil it looks super turned
every single. Time and especially me growing up In, california
it was weird that my older brother was A colts.
Fan but NOW i see, why and obviously they have

(24:22):
a lot of history, here but it was one of
those you, know it's a random, place being From california
and my brother is a.

Speaker 5 (24:26):
FAN i have no. Clue probably because they're.

Speaker 10 (24:29):
Good, yeah probably that we Loved Bob sanders, too because
he used to just kill, people so that was always
fun to. Watch so he was A colts, fan so everybody's,
like that's, random and he always rode with The. Colts
and now That i'm on the, team it's pretty crazy,
that you, know coming From california ending up for me
being In, minnesota that's a random place in our, mind

(24:49):
coming From cali then going to another place in The,
midwest just places you never thought you would.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
Be but now that it's, home it's super.

Speaker 10 (24:56):
Cool and that's the first THING i noticed that people
love their sports.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
Here so it's an honor being a part of.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
It, okay so your brother's A colts, fan maybe played
with you, know The colts On madden or something With,
manning and you liked Watching Bob. Sanders what you, know
what do you remember About Bob? Sanders he used to
just kill.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
People he was, smaller he.

Speaker 10 (25:12):
Was he's that guy that's just always flying around just hitting,
people no matter how big they. Were so he was
just fearless out. There and that was always another. Thing
he'd always hit people's legs and make them. Flip and
as a, kid that was, like you, know that's like a,
cartoon like a football. Movie you're watching Little, giants you
see all the big hits and. Everything that's what he
made happen in real. Life so that was like the
first thing that attracted really his. Game that was attractive

(25:36):
about his game was the way that he used to
just just hit.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
People when you're like Scrolling instagram or you know, whatever
like whose highlights do you gravitate toward, watching like could
be football or even like another PLAYER i was talking, To, yeah,
Okay i'm a.

Speaker 5 (25:51):
Bag you were just.

Speaker 10 (25:52):
Boxing, YEAH i was just trying with. Them but that's
like my whole algorithm right. Now just that's my one
of my favorite, athletes With kobe And manny for my
number one.

Speaker 5 (26:01):
Athletes so just.

Speaker 10 (26:02):
PEOPLE i just love support of, boxing just because the
mindset of.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
It you, know you're in there one on one and
it's up to.

Speaker 10 (26:09):
You if you train, hard you do your, part you
win if you there's no there's no hiding in the.
Training so that's WHY i love just being interested in.
Boxing so that's my algorithm right. Now that's like the
only there's not much football on my.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Algorithm mine is like golf tips THAT i can't actually
apply to my. Game it's really bad social. Thinking, yeah,
exactly it's wishful thinking golf. Tips when you Watch Manny
pacquiao Or no you got to you, know train with
them and you, know do stuff in The. Philippines but
when you watch, him, like what are you looking for
as a fellow professional?

Speaker 10 (26:38):
Athlete just the work, ETHIC i, think just the way
that he's there focused still like a people person and
letting other people work out with. Him but when he's,
there he's working out and he always talks about like
the one thing with conversation we had WHEN i was
training with him this time we're doing the ad, workout
and he, said it's your choice if you get knocked
down with the body, Shot and it was, like in my,
mind putting that in football, terms your, Preparation you're you're

(27:00):
in charge of your. Preparation he's, like if you get
knocked out by getting hit to the, face hit to the,
head that's fine because that's just a good. Punch but
if you get knocked out to the, body that means
you didn't prepare well. Enough so that's one thing that,
LIKE i hear that And i'll immediately translate that to. Football,
OKAY i can win based off of IF i, prepare
IF i know the other, team the Offense i'm going,

(27:21):
against IF i watch enough, tape IF i do enough
enough footwork during the week to be good on my.
Coverage so that's that's the only thing That i'm, watching
like Translating, okay the work, ethic the footwork that he
does in a.

Speaker 5 (27:32):
Ring, okay he's always on his. Feet how CAN i
apply this to?

Speaker 10 (27:35):
Football because Obviously i'm not a, fighter So i'm not
in there studying everything about. Boxing but like the mindset
that he, has the attention to detail and the. Preparation
like you, SAID i refuse to get knocked down by
a body shot and it's, like that's all preparation at.

Speaker 7 (27:49):
The end of the.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Day, yeah and you can apply that to the.

Speaker 10 (27:52):
Exactly so that was my mindset Anytime i'm studying, it,
great even if it's a different.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
Sport all.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Right SO i asked this question to a couple of
guys this a couple of years. Going i'm bringing it
back for this. Podcast, uh it's if football never. Existed
what sport are you playing professionally right? Now AND i
guaranteed to be a. Pro you're guaranteed to be a.
Pro BUT i know you played The Stefan. Gilmour, yeah
you're the best answer of the whole.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Thing he, Said. TENNIS i guarantee that does exactly what he.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Said and he just looks at me and he goes
because it's one on one and that's all he. Said,
yeah best ANSWER i. Got, Okay so what are you playing? Professionally?

Speaker 10 (28:23):
Boxing, okay box because it's one on, one because there's
so much technique, involved and it's just LIKE i, said
it's one of those you're kind of up To it's
up to you how good or bad you are your.
Preparation if you cut corners during during your, training.

Speaker 5 (28:42):
You're guaranteed to.

Speaker 10 (28:43):
Lose unless you just have a good night or somebody
has an off, night you're going. Again so it's one
of those, things even more so than it just being
one on. One it'll, Show, okay did you, prepare did
you work? Hard are you cutting any corners or? Not
and it'll show like there's no there's no way around
it in boxing because you're in there fighting for your.
LIFE i think that'll be my sport THAT i can
be that can be, professional but would be if football didn't.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Exist that is a great. Answer we're gonna end on that,
one Cam, Bine i'm appreciate.

Speaker 5 (29:09):
Your, time man than my guy all.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Right here With colts Quarterback Anthony. Richardson this is coming
out a couple days After Father's. Day what is the
most dad thing that you? Do, so, like the Example
i'm giving is LIKE i play golf AND i love
shopping At, costco and then like cooking FOOD i got
At costco and then being LIKE i got that At. Costco,
Right so what's the most dad thing you?

Speaker 7 (29:30):
Do, OKAY i haven't started it, yet But i'm getting into. Golf, Okay,
NO i just got some, cloves So i'm pretty excited about.
That BUT i catch myself out the, pork you, know
pushing my son on the swing a. Lot SO i
probably say that and yelling at. Him you, know you
gotta bring up your dad.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
Voice yeah there's a different dad.

Speaker 7 (29:48):
Voice oh, yeah no. Doubt it scares me, sometimes but you, know.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
He's AN IDs on my son this morning when he wasn't.
Listening it's, like, ah, man was that?

Speaker 6 (29:55):
Me?

Speaker 7 (29:56):
Yeah sometimes it catches you.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Both, yeah, okay so you just took you you're thinking
about taking up?

Speaker 5 (30:01):
Golf?

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Yeah how soon until you're breaking one?

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Hundred you're a good.

Speaker 7 (30:07):
ATHLETE i mean people, say you, know athletes can pick
up on different sports pretty, quickly you, know so what's
the average time that? Takes maybe a few months, MAYBE.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
I, mean if you're if you're, GOOD i, know people
who have been playing for years of can't break a.

Speaker 7 (30:22):
Hundred Really, yeah well my goal would be a few,
months you, know get my swinging down pack and then
take care of the.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Rest So i've heard stories about like players who just
pick up clubs and are they're like shooting like, eighty
like right off the.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
MAT i don't.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Know it's it's a tough thing to, do BUT i don't.
Know golf is like it's just you versus the course every,
time so you got to you got to be competitive with.

Speaker 7 (30:46):
Yourself, no it's definitely, fun but it's extremely frustrating that. Time, Yes,
no the last TIME i was trying to swing and
get my, CLUBS i kept chunking the. Ground, man you,
KNOW i kept missing them ball and. Stuff so just
give me a few a few minutes and Then i'll
get it.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Right, Okay so the answer is probably not golf.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Yet but let's, say let's say football never existed as a.
SPORT i, THINK i THINK i know what your answer
is going to. Be but football never existed as a.
Sport but you're a professional. Athlete what sport are you
a professional?

Speaker 2 (31:14):
Athlete?

Speaker 7 (31:14):
Then AND i only got to pick?

Speaker 1 (31:16):
ONE i, mean can you pick one that's not? Basketball
BECAUSE i think everyone watching this is going to know
it's going to Be.

Speaker 5 (31:22):
Basketbaba surprised THAT i wasn't going to say.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Basketball, okay maybe, baseball, baseball centerfielder.

Speaker 7 (31:29):
WHEREVER i feel LIKE i just wanted to be out,
there you, know out there on the pitch making it.
Happen maybe be in the pitcher, maybe.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
Yeah, OKAY i could see you're throwing one hundred nasty slider.

Speaker 7 (31:41):
Outside, yeah WELL i would probably maybe like center field
somewhere out there in the, outfield you, know just checking
them ball. Now and you, know.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
When you watch other sports or you watch other athletes
in another, sport what do you watch from like the
greats in other? Sports so like if you're watching Like
kobe highlights or you're watching you, KNOW i was talking
To cambine, about Like Manny, pakiaut like when you're watching other,
athletes like what do you look?

Speaker 7 (32:05):
For? Man that's a great, question, honestly all right for,
me it really depends, on you, know the sport and
the player as. Well like When i'm watching basketball And
i'm Watching, cerry Like i'm watching him like running around the,
court BECAUSE i don't think anybody in THE nba or
just in basketball in general is just running as much
as he's running on in the, court and people don't

(32:25):
really you, know take that stuff into account that that
also translates to his. Game so you, know just trying
to find little things like that to see why that
person is so.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
Great, yeah, yeah picking up just stuff the little things on.

Speaker 6 (32:37):
That.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Yeah all, right last one for. You we're taping this
couple days before THE Nba finals. START i know you've
been to a couple Of pacers. Games, yeah what has
the run The pacers have gone on this? Year maybe
shown you about this city Of.

Speaker 7 (32:48):
Indianapolis, MAN i can't express enough how much like Excitement
i've been having these past few, months you, know especially
watching these guys going this. Run you, Know Hawler burton
is doing this, Thing Miles turner is doing this. Thing
you Got obi topping out there. Hooping you just got
all the guys just, hooping coming together as a squad
and just seeing the city Of indianapolis just come together

(33:10):
and like just you, know bring the energy and. Excitement
it's a blessing because it just gets me excited for
our season and what we're going to be able to.
Do so definitely. Exciting right.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
On Anthony richardson appreciates, time, Man so thank. You here
with Col t wide Receiver Alec. PIERCE i want to start, Here.
Alec in twenty twenty, TWO i did this thing WHERE
i was going around the locker, room AND i was
asking guys, like if football never, existed what sport would
you play? Professionally and you like ran up to me
and you were.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
Like beach. Volleyball, yeah is that?

Speaker 1 (33:38):
Okay because you threw out the first pitch of The
cubs game AND i see that Little South poly action
on the. Mound, yeah if the sport of football never, Existed,
yeah are you actually playing beach?

Speaker 2 (33:48):
Volleyball and are you in The.

Speaker 6 (33:49):
OLYMPICS i would love to play beach. Volleyball AND i,
THINK i, mean it's so it's so. HARD i think
to get to The, Olympics like obviously one you got
to be the best player in the. Nation it you,
KNOW i would have, thought you, know in another in another,
life IF i was a grew up Of South Southern
california boy or, something you, know, LIKE i THINK i

(34:09):
would have put a lot into. That AND i do
have a good Like i'm a, lefty which is pretty,
valuable AND i grew up like kind of playing center and,
good you gotta be really athletic for. Beach i'm a
little probably, undersized BUT i think can make it. Work
there's probably.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Under you're six foot four and you've got like really long.
Arms that's on the.

Speaker 6 (34:27):
SIDE i know a lot of those, GUYS i feel
like they're like six, Seven LIKE i saw So Chase
buddinger last. Year, yeah remember him from THE. Nba he
was he qualified for The olympics in. Beach so like
he he was kind of The, Okay i'm not gonna
say the blueprint, like but like. THAT i thought that
was super cool Because i'm, like this guy played in
THE nba and then just once he was done playing THE,
nba he just kind of dedicated his life to beach

(34:49):
volleyball and he made The. Olympics but he was also
he was ALSO i think the number one volleyball recruit
in the nation coming out of high. School so he's
always been a really good volleyball.

Speaker 1 (34:57):
Player so my high school basketball, COACH i went to
Oak parker For, forest rival of your high, School Glenbard. West,
uh the high school basketball coach always would complain that
he couldn't get the kids on the volleyball team to
sign up for. Basketball, yeah because he's like he's, looking
look at this. Guy he's six foot, seven he's got long.
Arms he should be on my.

Speaker 6 (35:13):
Team, YEAH i, mean now it's Valid it's true they
those two sports definitely pair and like hand a hand.
TOGETHER i think a lot of, people a lot of
the KIDS i, saw we had some really good volleyball
players at my, school and they were a lot of
kids that ended up being not very good at, basketball
AND i think they gave their shot at. Volleyball you,
KNOW i think there's no there's zero physicality in. Volleyball

(35:34):
so like you can be very you can be six,
seven one eighty five out, there you. Know so, yeah
a lot of guys who were kind of just didn't
do well with physicality because you, know if you're you're
a big, guy you're not you're you're expected to be
physical in, basketball you expected to be down there kind
of banging in the. Post and SO i think a
lot of volleyball players Were it's like it's like when
they say the people WHO u who weren't hitting a

(35:55):
football became the basketball players or something that like the
people who weren't.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
Hitting in basketball people.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
When you watch other, sports you're watching basketball or baseball or, whatever, like,
yeah do you look at the like the elite players
on a, team and do you like try to pick
up anything about just maybe not necessarily their, game but
like what they do to be the best of the
best at what they, do even if it's not a
sport like.

Speaker 6 (36:19):
Football, yeah probably the probably the biggest. THING i haven't
looked into too many, Sports but the biggest THING i
Say i've looked into is golf just knowing because it's
so much. Mental so just hearing golfers about how they,
like how they do so well and and just the
mental game of. THAT i think it can apply to
not only, football but just life and just basically they

(36:40):
they kind of talk about like all these different, things you,
know in terms of just your mental and your, confidence
and you're you, know just kind of being like super
systematic with your approach and being step by. Step SO
i think if you listen to some, golf like some
golfers talk and there's people have written books like all that.
STUFF i haven't got that far into, it but they

(37:01):
they honestly have some pretty cool things to to say
because they it's all like it's all mental.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Stuff who do you like look at as a, golfer
active former who kind of talks about.

Speaker 6 (37:11):
That i've seen like a clip Of rory McRoy talking
about like. FLOW i think you, said like flow state
basically just like when he's, like when you're playing your,
best you're not like you're basically not thinking it's You're
you're just kind of like going through your. Routine and
BECAUSE i think when you, think you start to you
can overthink. Things SO i think that's kind of what
the biggest THING i got from that. Is but just, like,

(37:33):
yeah WHEN i get into the golf, COURSE i gotta
try to find the flow. State you, Know, OKAY i
don't know if my flow state is probably different than
is is Your?

Speaker 1 (37:40):
Instagram, like uh like for, you is it all just
like golf?

Speaker 2 (37:44):
Tips? Uh, YEAH i try not.

Speaker 6 (37:47):
To, LIKE i think you can get really lost in
the weeds if you're like watching all that stuff and
picking picking up. Things Like i'm a very LIKE i,
YEAH i. DON'T i don't really, like but Sometimes i've
gotten some good. THINGS i learned how TO i learned
how to hit the fade and to draw off. That
like it was like a simple videos like how to
hit a fade and draw for, athletes And i'm, like,
oh that's That's i'm gonna ask. You, YEAH i know there's, like,

(38:10):
oh just move your foot, forward And i'm like just
just swing across your, feet And i'm, Like, okay that makes.
Sense and NOW i know IF i gotta you, know
hit one that and move it to the, right you,
know as a, lefty IF i gotta hit a little,
DRAW i just slide that front foot forward AND i
swing all along my feet and it does a nice little.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
Hook so, SEE i watched those videos and THEN i
try to apply them to my game AND i blade,
IT i shake, it get an eight on the, whole
And i'm just, LIKE i forget.

Speaker 4 (38:30):
It.

Speaker 6 (38:30):
YEAH i think all the like all the stuff where
they get really into the weeds where it's where it's, like,
oh like you, know you gotta do this with your
hips or this with your like your.

Speaker 5 (38:40):
Your your firing your hands or.

Speaker 6 (38:42):
WHATEVER i think that's like that makes me think too.
Much i'm JUST i just hit the ball and then
try and figure out what, like, OH i hit a,
slice SO i gotta be a little bit, more you,
know swing a little bit more this, way or calm
like into, out you, know so stuff like.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
That let's talk About, indianapolis the. City we're Both chicago
guys from the. Area for me seeing the city like
embrace the pacers over the last couple of weeks months
has been really cool to see, like oh, no this
is like it's a great sports. City, yeah and it's
different than in a bigger city where there's a lot
of other stuff going. On there more, Teams like here

(39:16):
it's The colts and The pacers and The. Fever what
is your experience been kind of like getting you, KNOW
i know you've been to a couple Of pacers games
during the, playoffs like just kind of seeing how the
city has embraced that team over the last couple of.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
Months, yeah it's.

Speaker 6 (39:28):
Been it's been super, fun you, know just really starting
with it last, year LIKE i went to a ton
of those playoff games and that run they had which
was was. Awesome you, know they they got stopped in
The Eastern Conference. Finals but then just this year has been.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
INCREDIBLE i love hearing them because you probably grew up
on like D ROS i grew up On Michael, jordan
but Like i'm all in on The.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
Pacers i'm all in on The pacers.

Speaker 7 (39:48):
Too.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
Man it's.

Speaker 6 (39:49):
AWESOME i can't wait to. Go i'm gonna try to.
Go i'm gonna for sure be at that that. Game
three GAMES i think before we break, camp so it's.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
Great, yeah, okay last one for. You what's something about
playing in THE nfl that somebody who doesn't play in
THE nfl could never? Understand, yeah about what you.

Speaker 6 (40:07):
DO i think like fans understand the time that goes into,
it BUT i don't think just you, know the the
the casual viewer or people that really aren't even sports fans.
Understand like you, Know i've had some people be, like
hit me, Up, oh you're gonna you're gonna be home
For thanksgiving or you're gonna be and it's, like, NO

(40:29):
i have, Practice like we. Practice we practice pretty much every,
day you. Know so it's it's it's it's it's definitely
like it's definitely a, job you. Know it's it's the
hours are basically just like a full time, job you.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Know so the off season is no different. Too, No,
yeah the off season we get we do get some time.

Speaker 6 (40:44):
Off but then, yeah kind of once Once april, hits you, Know,
april for two months basically Mid april to mid Mid,
june you're just you're you're you, know half days to
kind of you know a little bit longer. Days once
it's towards the end but but.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
You still, try you, know like you get you, know
even In, FEBRUARY i know you're posting stuff On instagram
or like. Stuff you're training and doing all that. Stuff
so that's the job. Too, yeah for.

Speaker 6 (41:07):
SURE i think, once especially like once The Super bowl is,
Over i'd say a lot of guys like kind of
take some time off and then once that Super bowl, hits,
uh they probably get back to training and you're gonna
you're gonna be training FROM i usually just do the.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
MORNINGS i go like probably.

Speaker 6 (41:20):
Eight to eight to one or something like, that you,
know going from the weight room to the field and
getting your you, know some stuff worked on your. Body so,
yeah and then leaves the afternoons free to do WHATEVER i,
want you, know so.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
Probably play, golf play some.

Speaker 6 (41:34):
GOLF i was down The, florida went to the beach a.
Lot just play some.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
Volleyball you.

Speaker 6 (41:38):
KNOW i can't can't go too hard on the, volleyball but,
yeah it's fun to.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Do appreciate it, out yeah time, man appreciate it all.
Right i'm here With colts rookie Cornerback Justin. Wally i'm curious, about,
like as a guy who's coming into THE. Nfl who
have you kind of gravitated toward watching like a? Player
maybe it's maybe it's another, cornerback maybe it's offensive. Back
maybe it's just someone in the league who you like.

(42:02):
Watching who have you kind of gravitated towards and what
he maybe pick up from?

Speaker 11 (42:07):
Them H, well the biggest coincidence and all this is
kind of the PERSON i kind of like modeled my
game after Was kennymore AND i want to seem, Now
SO i think that was probably the Thing i'm kind
of most excited, For LIKE i watched so much film on,
him and to be his, teammate get to pick his
brain by small, things how he how he, does how
he his habits off the feel and things like. That

(42:28):
so it's a blessing to be able to be on
the same team.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
As how do you watch like any more highlights as
a college kid In?

Speaker 2 (42:35):
Minnesota, well so we USE tv. Sports we have access
to you do have access.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
To, okay so you're able To you're you're not watching
like THE tv broadcast BECAUSE i feel like watching THE
tv broadcast as a cornerback probably is like.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
Infuriating, yeah you can't because it.

Speaker 11 (42:49):
Doesn't they hardly ever show the corners OWN tv and
less on the certain side of the.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
Field so, yeah and you can't see what route the
guys do and how he set it. Up you're probably
just like this is like a terrible.

Speaker 2 (42:58):
Experience you can't watch filmal corners for FROM.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
Tv all, Right so when you watch, FILM M, kenny,
like what did you take away from his game that
you've now kind of applied to?

Speaker 2 (43:05):
Yours so like coming.

Speaker 11 (43:07):
Into, It i'm A i'm a five to ten, guy
And i'm kind of watching a lot of five ten
guys around the, league or guys who aren't six, foot
because if you're if you're not six, foot to stick
around the league as long as he, has you have
to do something. Right SO i just want To i'll
kind of just, wonder like what what does he? Do
what does make him stick over a lot of other?
Guys and it's just his his. Drive he played like

(43:31):
it's with hair on. Fire he can play in the.
Box he's a great, tackler great cover cover down the,
Field so a lot of small. Things does a lot
of small things, Right AND i think that's like try
to WHY i try to implement into my.

Speaker 1 (43:42):
GAME i feel like be in the. Corner who can
be the inside outside. Guy, maybe like when we talk about,
it like in like the media or, whatever like it's
almost like taking for, granted, like, oh he can play,
inside he can play, Outside but like that's not as
easy as it, sounds, Right like the difference is in
those two.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
Positions, yeah it's like.

Speaker 11 (43:58):
A completely different, position so much. Difference or LIKE i
didn't play inside until my last year of. College it's
a Whole you know how to spot drop a lot.
More the routes happen a lot faster, inside so you're
guarding a different type of.

Speaker 4 (44:11):
Receiver.

Speaker 11 (44:11):
Inside it's a completely different, world and it's gonna take
a lot of adjusting to be able to play both
of them.

Speaker 4 (44:17):
Consistently So i'm ready for.

Speaker 2 (44:18):
It how was that?

Speaker 1 (44:19):
Transition because playing outside you can use the sideline as
a defender a little. Bit playing, inside you're on an
island almost.

Speaker 11 (44:27):
In that's a lot of, space AND i think it's
hard to tell how much space it is until you
actually go out there and you look around and there's
nobody near, you so you know it's gonna be a.

Speaker 4 (44:36):
Challenge but that's part of the. Job that's kind of
WHY i love to play the position.

Speaker 2 (44:39):
When you watch other.

Speaker 1 (44:40):
Sports we were just, talking, like you, know about watching
THE nba picking that up a little bit this, Year
like what do you look for in maybe the elite
players in another league that maybe you could just pick,
up even it's just a little habit or something that
they do to apply to what you.

Speaker 11 (44:53):
DO i would say mentality is like for the for
the most thing and. Availability i've grew Up lebron fan
and to see him go out there every night and
produce on a consistent, level it's kind of, like what
does he do and look more into he take care
of his body so well that he's able to go
out there and play every single game and not be that.

(45:16):
Injured so small things like, that it's kind of will
look At.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
Have you like got into The pacers at all since
you've been.

Speaker 11 (45:22):
HERE i kind of told my girl, that, Like i'm
A patier fan Now i'm An. INDIANA i never had
REALLY i was A lebron, fan BUT i never had a.
Team so Now i'm, here it's a good team to,
Watch So i'm a pretty much patience.

Speaker 1 (45:33):
FAN i love Nim hart A lebron little Mini Drew. Holliday, ye,
yeah So i'm From. CHICAGO i grew up A bulls,
fan AND i just completely swarre him off like three
years ago BECAUSE i was, like, man these pacers are.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
FUN i got to get in.

Speaker 1 (45:46):
On, this and it's been so cool seeing how the
city has really embraced. It if you like just being
around being around the. City what's sort of his left
and impression on you about What indianapolis can be as
a sports.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
Town, WELL i can say they love sports.

Speaker 11 (46:01):
Here we were at the THE, nascar not THE, nascar
but The Indy.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
Car you went to the five hundred or he went
like the week before doing like the qualifying.

Speaker 11 (46:11):
Stuff, yeah they had a lot of fans, there and
the rookie class went and the amount of times that
fans was interacting with us was. Insane it just shows
you how much they really care about the sports here
and how passionate they.

Speaker 5 (46:22):
Are you can't really actually more than.

Speaker 1 (46:23):
That i've been asking a couple guys. This so let's
say football never existed as a, Sport, like no one
ever put laces on a ball and said we're gonna
go play. Football you're a great, Athlete what sport is
justin wally playing? Professionally, right now.

Speaker 11 (46:38):
Baseball, OKAY i played baseball growing up my whole. LIFE
i THINK i was just as good as a baseball.
PLAYER i was, football but got to high school start
getting officer in, FOOTBALL i was, like you know, What
i'd to play football, anyway SO i do.

Speaker 4 (46:50):
That but what?

Speaker 11 (46:51):
Position, WELL i always played center and second AND i
was always the leadoff, hitter so it was always.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
Fun center field kind of tracks for a defensive back.

Speaker 3 (46:58):
There.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
Yeah is there anything like, transferable like tracking the ball
over your shoulder that you maybe maybe helped you as
A dB from playing center?

Speaker 2 (47:06):
Field?

Speaker 11 (47:06):
YEAH i think baseball teach a lot of the core
mechanics of really every, sport hand eye, coordination being able
to track a ball it's high in the. Air so
all those small things that were you go in the
football field makes you a lot better.

Speaker 1 (47:19):
Player, cool justin. BALL i appreciate your, time, man, sir thank,
you thank. You all, Right i'm here With colts defensive END. J.

Speaker 2 (47:25):
T Twoey. Molowau what about this, City?

Speaker 1 (47:30):
Indianapolis have you maybe learned in the month or so
since you've been.

Speaker 9 (47:35):
HERE i think just HOW i don't, know gritty the
city is just how much passionate they have for the
love of the. Teams you, know just being able to
go to The pacers, game you can just tell how
much they love their teams and how much they root for.

Speaker 2 (47:50):
Them and you, know being a fan.

Speaker 9 (47:54):
And seeing it from that point of, view you, know
you got you gotta be thankful for those type of.

Speaker 2 (47:59):
Fans you. Know is it like when you go to
a game as a?

Speaker 1 (48:01):
Fan how do you experience that is someone who knows
what it takes to be a professional, Athlete, like how
do you go to a game and like do you
get like frustrated and yelled the referee or.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
Like how do you go to a game as a?

Speaker 5 (48:12):
Fan?

Speaker 9 (48:12):
UH i think for me being able to play basketball long,
ENOUGH i kind of just go there and, UH i
don't know it sounds, weird but just walking watching craftsmen
just do you know what they know how to do
best better than me and just you, know seeing the
the art just you, know reveal itself on the court

(48:34):
in in that type of, way.

Speaker 1 (48:35):
So you you kind of understand basketball and like kind
of a higher. Level, yeah what do you what do
you think about The pacers and how they?

Speaker 2 (48:43):
Play, uh they play for each.

Speaker 9 (48:45):
Other you can tell that you, know whatever it takes
for them to get the job, done they will do,
it you, know just like a little small, things you,
know seeing.

Speaker 4 (48:54):
And went From.

Speaker 9 (48:56):
Nie, Smith sorry, man try and pronounce, there trying not
to push their their, names but you Know Nie, smith
going from Gardener Jayleen, brunston and then they putting them
hard On Jaylen brunston after the hell, yeah After Nie
smith went down for a little, bit and it was
just kind of like a like competitive competitive, excellence you,
know when your numbers, call when your name is, called you,
know just stepping up to is you, know not having

(49:16):
no second, thoughts just, pulling putting one hundred percent effort into.

Speaker 1 (49:20):
It and that's WHAT i see with all of. Them
do you like take that away, of you, know watching another?
Sport obviously basketball and football are are very, different but
you take anything away From, hey you, Know i'm watching
this guy do SOMETHING i could maybe think, about you,
know how does he do? That how COULD i apply
just maybe a process or something that? Game oh that's
WHAT i.

Speaker 9 (49:38):
Feel Like i've done that a, lot just growing up
playing both, sports you, know being able to see how
big those guys are and move all on their. Feet
it's kind of just like playing defensive, End you're you're
trying to be a ballerina out, there but as well
as being a bowl so you try to put it all.

(49:59):
Together AND i feel like they're seeing the way they
move or how they get around, defenders just kind of
hike how you would get around to tackle and, uh
seeing how they do it in, person you, know trying
to you, know mimick in a way when you come to.
Practice there's always something you can take away whenever you're watching.
Anything what's your favorite memory from your time At Ohio.

Speaker 4 (50:16):
State other than winning the national?

Speaker 2 (50:19):
Championship, okay that.

Speaker 1 (50:20):
Was kind of an obvious. Question other than winning the
national Champions, yeah.

Speaker 9 (50:23):
It'll probably be just all the all the things we
did off the, field you, know all the cookouts we
did as a, team just helping us to you, know
keep that brotherhood alive and not just make it a,
saying but really lived that life of being a. Family
and you, know just all the memories we made off the, field,
cookouts going out to eat, breakfast no matter what it,
was watching the games at each other's, house just missing

(50:48):
the that you, know atmosphere of having my brothers around
is you know something you, know playing on doing, here
just you, know making. US i know everybody got, families
but just trying to bring that family aspect.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
Here one of one of the.

Speaker 1 (51:01):
Things That chain Coach ssichen has always said is like
when we're, connected we're. Committed, yeah and that that you
know that there is a family atmosphere.

Speaker 2 (51:08):
Here you, know it starts with.

Speaker 1 (51:09):
Ownership what what is maybe what if you maybe learned
about that family atmosphere at The colts in the you,
know a couple of weeks you've been.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
Here, yeah so especially.

Speaker 9 (51:17):
With the d line, room you, know first a lot
of great, guys guys with a lot of, wisdom guys
who have done it for a long time and are
good at what they do as well as you, know
off the, field it's, like, man just all.

Speaker 2 (51:29):
Brothers just a little brother right, now just guy.

Speaker 9 (51:32):
Here but you know that just SHOWS i feel like
it gives me a glimpse of just you know who
we are as The. Colts you know who who The colts.
Are we're a team that's you, know very close and
you know you can see.

Speaker 4 (51:45):
Them we're going to.

Speaker 9 (51:46):
Practice we practice hard because we know how much each
other has put in and we know how much each
other has to. Offer so being around them and off
and on the, FIELD i feel like that's that's a
small glimpse of just in a nutshell OF hulo cults.

Speaker 1 (52:02):
ARE i was talking To neville on this podcast and
he was talking about how much Like Grover stewart can
like single arm. Press oh, yeah he, said it's one
hundred and seventy. Pounds SO i weigh one hundred and seventy.
Pounds oh, okay that's. Insane yeah that, like you guys
are not like a normal just a regular old.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
Person, yeah in terms of what you can. DO i
mean THAT i don't really have a question or that men.

Speaker 9 (52:26):
Seeing him and being as big AS i, am it's still,
like oh, yeah that's that's all a different type of
it's like.

Speaker 2 (52:30):
Different.

Speaker 1 (52:31):
Yeah i'm curious like when you when you like go
and you wait train you do these, things like when
you did that At Ohio, State like how competitive is
that within like A d line?

Speaker 2 (52:45):
Room oh?

Speaker 9 (52:46):
MAN i think my first time lifting with the vest
is they they were calling and just eat each other's numbers.
Out SO i was like BEFORE i stepped, UP i was,
like all, RIGHT i gotta make sure my numbers is
up there with. Them BUT i mean there's no. Difference
it's just a age is. Different, yeah, yeah. Yeah other than,
THAT i think competition still is still high and still the.

Speaker 1 (53:04):
Same and that just kind of makes you, Better that
makes you. Yeah, okay all, right last one for. You
this one's kind of off the. Wall All let's say football
never existed as a. Sport, yep it was never. Invented
but you're a really good. Athlete you're a great. Athlete
what sport are you playing? Professionally old? Basketball because you
you were a pretty good basketball player already basketball and

(53:26):
you commit to it.

Speaker 2 (53:27):
Fully oh, okay so what? POSITION i Think i'm a.

Speaker 9 (53:32):
Hybrid i'm big enough to you, know scrap down low
and god enough to bring the ball up in case you,
know there's a big man they can't, move but you,
KNOW i FEEL i. Can.

Speaker 2 (53:44):
MAN i always think about.

Speaker 9 (53:45):
It even When i'm just showing a little baby, boop
just like, man what if you?

Speaker 2 (53:49):
Know BUT i think football did. GO i THINK i
think it did pretty well for. YOU i think football
is doing really.

Speaker 1 (53:54):
Good were you so you're growing up In? Seattle what
was the? Basketball see?

Speaker 2 (53:58):
There like?

Speaker 9 (54:00):
Basketball? WASHINGTON i say it's very. UNDERRATED a lot of
dogs out. THERE i mean a bunch of, guys, Know
paulo mc, Carroll come my, BOYS i played With Nolan.
HICKMAN i can go all the way on the. Board you,
KNOW i don't want to do it because IF i forget,
somebody i'mna field feel. Bad but, like you, know you
go with the grades you. Got you, Know Jamal, uh

(54:23):
you Got nate b Roy so it's just, uh it's
just everybody that's from there Or Isaiah, Thomas like you
just got a lot of a lot of quick hitter.
Names like some some names you hear be, like, man
he's from, there or he Represents. Washington it's, like, yeah
like we got some balls out. There BUT i say
it's very, underrated but very crafty as. Well indiana basketball

(54:46):
scene's pretty good here.

Speaker 2 (54:47):
Too.

Speaker 9 (54:47):
YEAH i, MEAN i, Mean i'm not gonna hate On,
indiana but when we did come out here to play
IN au, Tournaments seattle did. Dominate but that's no hate
To indiana.

Speaker 2 (55:00):
Whatsoever so you just got a really good basketball. Call yeah, yeah,
yeah we just you, know we got. It we got
a piece of our.

Speaker 9 (55:06):
Own you, know we they probably got us, once you,
Know indiana's probably, up BUT i know that Year seattle Slash.
Washington we we got our, number we got our we
got our, win so it was. Good appreciate your.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
