Speaker 1 (00:08):
Welcome is an instant reaction. We are reacting to preseason
game number two, the preseason home opener for the NFL's Colts,
as they hosted the Green Bay Packers. They fall, and
that's really you know, it's up in question really because
of that final play there to Julani Woods. So we
aren't going to dive into the score or anything and

(00:29):
like that. But the Colts do host the Green Bay
Packers for prese and game number two, the first time
inside Lucas Oil Stadium. A lot of really good went
into the game. There was some things you want to
clean up. But for instant reaction, I'm Casey Value, joined
as always by Bill Brooks. Bill. First off, I want
to talk to you about how great it felt to
be back inside home, if you will. We haven't been

(00:50):
here in a while, and I stepped in and I said, man,
this feels like home again.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
It's always nice to be back home anytime.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Yes, to play in Lucas Oyo Stadium and find your
home fans, the fans feel good. The charing and ruining
the home team on its always a good feeling.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yes, it was, and there was a lot of fans
today which I don't know if I wasn't expecting it,
but I thought it was a pretty good fan turnout today.
Per usual, the Green Bay Packers fans always travel well,
so there was a lot of cheeseheads and green and
yellow here in the stadium. But for the most part,
I thought it was a really well attended game. It
was the only preseason game that's going to be inside Indianapolis,

(01:28):
inside Lucasoa Stadium, so it was glad to see the
Colts fans turn out. So to dive into the game bill, yes,
it is only fitting to talk about the one thing
everybody wants to talk about when you think Indianapolis Colts,
and that is the kicking competition. Yep, no quarterback bell,
Come on, you know where we're going on that.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
I know where you're going.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
So we saw Daniel Jones get the start today and
he played into the second quarter. That second drive that
he had was a really long drive, led into the
second quarter, ultimately did not find the end zone, but
was he able to get points. He finishes the day
for eleven one hundred and one yards. I thought he
was efficient. He looked pretty good, just two drives, but
that final drive was really a nice drive and then

(02:07):
Anthony Richardson came in and played essentially the remainder of
the second quarter. He finished six of eleven for seventy
three yards. So I'm gonna kind of dive into both
of these guys. So we're gonna start with Daniel Jones
since he got the start today. How would you assess
what we saw out of Daniel Jones in his first
time inside Lucasail Stadium wearing a Colt uniform. I thought
he looked pretty poised, looked pretty good today, he did.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
He looked pretty poison today. I think, you know, he
looked just like he's lived in camp right now.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
He's done a lot of things that he did in
camp during practice he'd done out.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Here in the preseason game. He played well.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
He got the ball of his hands quick once he
got back to his backstep, got the ball out to
the receiver so they can hopefully make a good catch
and move the ball down the field.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
So he did a lot of nice things. The thing
that I really like was no turnovers.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Yes you no.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
No to me, that's a big you know, the quarterback
going out there having command of the huddle, having command
of the offense and not turning the ball over and
getting the ball into the guy's hands so they could
make plays. And he did that, you know, took the
short throws, nice throws, got the ball out ball were
as ketchable for the receivers so they could make something happen.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
I thought he did a nice job.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
And ultimately we talk about turnovers. I think for both quarterbacks.
That has been one of the things we've talked about
throughout all of training camp is the ball has you know,
for the most part, there really hasn't been that many turnovers,
which is really good, especially in this competition, because that's
gonna be one of the big breakers when you think
about it. If guys consistently turning the football over, it's
really hard to try to rely on him to be
a guy that can lead this offense. Now, one of

(03:35):
the things that we did see, we saw the overthrow
that he had on Tyler Warren. That one I'm sure
is the throw he'd went back, but then you flash
forward to the next drive, he's able to hit Tyler
Warren on a deep play inside the red zone. So ultimately,
I thought one of the big keys I thought going
into today that I wanted to see out of Daniel
Jones was the ability to push the ball down the field.

(03:56):
And I think there was a heavy emphasis on doing that.
I think he had tempted more passes than we have
been accustomed to seeing throughout his career of showing he
can showcase that arm and force the ball down the field.
Is that something that when you looked at Daniel Jones
coming in and that narrative of you know, he's not
gonna blow you away with the ball down the field,

(04:18):
him showing that, you know what, I can do that too,
Because ultimately my biggest thing with Daniel Jones to this
point was weapons were the big reason why he hadn't
been labeled as a guy who pushed the ball down
the field, because you could only work with what you're
working with, and maybe he didn't have those type of
dynamic players and weapons in New York a little bit
different than what the Colts offense is. It's predicated on

(04:40):
big plays and I thought today he was able to
show you know that I can't push the ball down
the field.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Yeah, you want to be able to show you can
push the ball down the field, not only just for yourself,
showing that hey, look I do have the arm to
get the ball.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Down the field. But for the offense as well. Almos
up the offense.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
You know, you don't want to be so much so
that your one dimensional or that you're limited in how
far you're gonna throw the ball down the field away,
gone dank and dunk all the way down the field.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
You want to be able to open up all the field.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
So hey, look know what if I want to go deep,
I have a guy outside that I can go deep
with and I can get the ball to him. I
can get the ball to Alec Pirice down the field.
I can get the ball to ad Mitchell down the field.
I can get the ball to Ashton Dulan down the field.
I can make those throws Tyler Warren down the field.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
So that's what you want to show. So heme out
there showed it.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Mad a nice pass to Tyler Warren for twenty five yards,
the big play down the field. So that's good that
he showed that that he can do it. It's gonna
be part of the Colt's offense, and that's what you
want to show. You want to be diversified and what
you can do the versy five and what you can
do on the offense.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
So you can throw.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Short passes, middle passes, middle I should say middle of
the road passes, fifteen to sixteen center media passes, and
then you can throw the ball down the field for
the big play. So he showed that you can do it.
And we know Anthony can do that. Yeah, we actually
know that he can throw the ball down the field.
So that's what you want to show, and I think
Dani showed that.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
He can do that.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Now that's one thing that you know, good transition there.
Anthony Richardson, as I said, he came in, replaced Daniel
Jones in the second quarter and played until halftime six
of eleven, passing for seventy three yards. That opening drive
that he had, he moved the football down the field.
It ended with a Tyler Goodson touchdown, the only touchdown
that the Colts had today. I thought, for the most

(06:16):
part that opening drive was a really good positive note.
But then you look at also it's all encompassing. I
think he would have really loved to have proved in
that two minute drill right before half that he could
push the ball field, push the ball down the field.
And I feel like that was kind of a maybe
like a lackluster offensive drive, it actually gave you know,
the Packers an opportunity to go down and score. So ultimately,

(06:40):
I think that first drive you take. You know, because
we'll look at Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson as we've
talked about at nauseum, it seems like have been very
even even. The stat line today very even, and I
think they both had a drive today that you can
look at and say we can win with that, especially
in Anthony's leading him to a touchdown exactly.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
You know, on both of the both the quarterbacks are
athletic youths.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Athletic can run. He had, he had a scrambled day,
al what he ran got some positive yards out of it.
So you know that both are athletics. So it's important
that they both go out there and showed what they're
gonna do. And Anthony showed that today. You know, he
made some nice.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Throws, hit hit some people in the spots. I think
he hit Drew over tree one time, yeah, down there.
So I mean he made some nice throws to people,
and that's what you want to see. You want to
see those intermediate throws, you want to see those short throws.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Him getting the ball out of his hands.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
He did that today, showing that he can make those
throws and that's important for the Coast offense. It's gonna
be important for Shane Stykee to make a decision, and
he's gonna have to make a decision sooner or later
who's going to be.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
The starting quarterback now before we dive into Shane Styke
and that decision ultimately he's going to have to make.
And I'm not trying to throw you on the spot.
I feel bad for even asking this question. But with
Anthony he has more of a sample size within this offense.
Right you can take into consideration what he has done
in his previous two seats with the Indianapolis Colts. Now,

(08:01):
I know there are ups and downs, there are injuries
that have made it where we are right now. But
for Shane Stiken, all he has of game footage and
I guess you could say joint practice is just four
of those. For Daniel Jones, two joint practices one against
the Ravens, won against the Packers, and then the two
preseason games. Is it at all saying that? You know,

(08:23):
that's how important all of these practices are going to
be because there is a little bit more video footage
from what Shane has seen with Anthony Richardson inside his offense.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yeah, I think it's very important to these practices and
the joint practices and of course these presets and games.
But with Daniel and Shane Steikeen's offense, you know, it's
going to be important to see ar in Shane Steiken's offense.
So kind of you're comparing apples to apples, right, you
have an idea of Okay, this is what this guy
can do in this offense, and this is what this
other guy can do in our offense.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
So you have to have the applematical comparison.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
And that's why I think it's a good competition because
last week, you know, unforced when Anthony got dinged up,
so we.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Had to miss some of the preseason game.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
But kind of switched it up as far as who
have the most snaps today and compared it to last week.
So they both have it, even thom with snap yet
the two games. So it's very important that they keep
it equal so they can make a decision. You know,
whenever the decision he makes, you know he's gonna have
a tough decision to make. But it's gonna be his
decision and wherever decision he makes is gonna be best
for the team.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
And speaking of that decision, Shane Stiken spoke with the
Meetia today and said that he is close to making
that decision. We don't know anything. Don't ask me, please
stop texting me. Fans and firmly and friends and family.
I don't know. I'm not in those meeting rooms. But
with all of that being said Shane Stiken, announcing that
he is close. We know we have three practices this week.

(09:47):
We have practice Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, then that final preseason
game against Cincinnati. So I would assume that here real
soon we are going to know who the quarterback is
for that Week one game against the Dolphins. When Week
one rolls around, do you anticipate it happening this week? Bill?

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Loaded question?

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Loaded question?

Speaker 1 (10:07):
I need an answer, you know what, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
I don't know if it will happen this week, but
I think it's gonna it's gonna be soon.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
I really don't know.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
I mean, I would love to say it would happen
this week so everyone can know and feel good about
the decision and be happy with it and move forward.
With it, but I don't know if it's gonna happen
this week, so I think it's a very close competition.
I think he's gonna have to see some things this week.
I'm not saying he hasn't made up his mind by
game time against Cincinnati Bengals. I don't know that he

(10:35):
might make it after that game. So it's gonna be
It's difficult, difficult for me to say what is it
going to be? Is it gonna be this week or not?
But he has a tough decision to make. But hopefully,
you know what, these guys have some more time to
go out there and show what they can do, and
then hopefully you can slidify who is the starting quarterback
and then that decision is made moving forward and the

(10:55):
team can know and then hey, look it's about ready
to get ready for Miami Dolphins and hopefully win that
first reguless season game.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Watch what I'm about to do here, Bill, You're ready
for this?

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
The easy decision that you have is checking out the
Colts podcast, because you know what, when Shanezziken does make
that announcement, we will have all of it for you
at your disposal. If you check out Colts dot Com
anywhere else you're down your podcast, download podcast, you can
find all of that. That's radio interviews, all of the
press conferences, all of that will be available for you.

(11:25):
So when he makes that tough decision, we've got your
back now. One of the things I wanted to talk
about today, and it's in large part because of the
narrative around the Colts tight ends. What we saw last
year league was the league low in receptions from a
group in the NFL. That was not the case today.
So here's the tight end receptions today. Okay, ready, Mohiley

(11:49):
Cox two catches for twenty five yards, Drew Ogletree two
catches for twenty eight yards, Jelannie Woods two catches for
twenty two yards. I'm going to go ahead and say
three catches and a touchdown or forty something. Tyler Warren
one catch for twenty five yards. Will Mallory won for
eleven So judging by my very elementary math skills, that's

(12:10):
eight catches for the tight end room. And that does
not include Jelanni Woods catch that I'm adamant about was
a catch near the end zone. So that eight catches
today out of the tight end room. This is a
group that everybody said, you said you need to improve on.
You draft Tyler Warren. Everybody is excited anticipating him having
a massive rookie campaign. But I thought today as a collective,

(12:33):
that tight end room proved we can do some things.
Don't overlook Drew Ogletree, don't overlook mo Aley Cox and
Will Mallory and Jolannie Woods. I thought they all looked
pretty good today.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
They did look pretty good today.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
That is a talented room in regardless to the tight
ends and what they can do out there in the
football field. Each of them brings something a little different
and special to the offense. But all those guys went
out there and Mason catches today. Mason plays, of course,
Tyler Warren making a big play down there twenty five
yards and he's just to me, an individual that has
a boatload of talent that could run route, get open,

(13:09):
use his size, use his wingspan, catches the ball, well,
does a lot of good things out there in football field.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
The same thing with Moiley Cox.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
You know, he's catches the ball, but he also is
a good blocker, you know, So the guys could do
a little bit of something different. Each of them in
regards to bringing something to this offense. And it's good
to see those guys involved in the offense and be
able to catch the ball and do something with the
ball after they catch it.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
One thing you bring up there, and that's one of
the things that we have talked to Shane Steichen about
how when he looks at a tight end room, he
kind of wants to position himself almost like a basketball
team where you have multiple guys that can do different things. Therefore,
you don't kind of tip your hand when these guys
are on the field like, oh here Moiley Cox is

(13:52):
only can block. Well, he proved today he can do
more than just blocks, and I think that is one
very important feature when you're trying to think about where
these targets are going to fit inside this Golts offense
that tight end room. As you mentioned, these guys can
all do a little bit of something different. Now. I
do think that Tyler Warren is kind of you know,

(14:12):
he's a top that list because he does everything at
a pretty high level. Yes, I mean, he can put
his hand down and block, he can go out for
a nice fade route, he can catch the ball, and
I like I constantly keep saying he's kind of like
a pinball machine. He just bounces off guys. I'm ready
to watch him put his head down and just barrel through.
But that tight end room kind of assembling like a

(14:33):
basketball team with guys that can do a lot of
things different. It's really beneficial for this offense.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Oh, definitely would be beneficial for this offense.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
And now it helps shame when he goes to make
a game plan against certain teams. Right, you know, we
can use we can use Tyler Warren for this. We
can use ill like Cocks for this. We can put
Geogratry here, we can use you know this guy for that.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
So when you have.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
A scheme where you can take different personnel and put
him in different positions, it makes it easier for you
as an offense because doesn't know exactly what you're going
to do.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
These guys can do different things.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
You know what you're going to put Tyler Warren in
the backfield at times?

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Right? Okay, is he gonna run the ball? He can't
run the right Yeah, that's true. Okay, you can put
him out there.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Hey, he was a quarterback in high school too. You
can pass the ball, you can pass the ball. As well.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Right, you put him in a three point stance.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Okay, as a tight end, you put him in a
two point stance kind of flexed out wide.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
So what are you What are you going to do?
How are you going to defend that?

Speaker 3 (15:23):
When you have guys that can do multiple different things,
it makes it difficult for a defense.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
And that's what's that should give the.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Offense a step up or a leg up, or give
them advantage to go out there and make some good plays.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Now, a couple final things here before we wrap up
instant reaction, and I want to talk about this is
not a stab, I promise, but the non household name
guys before where we are now and a couple of
those I really want to highlight one of them. I
know you have been very impressed by in coleman Owen. Yes,
and Lease, he's Bentley. I think these two guys are
really proving that they have what it takes to be

(15:58):
a back end roster guy or a practice player, because
I think they are showing they've got some really talent.
And coleman Owen is a guy who I have been
very impressed by. I know you have been as well,
because he offers a lot when it comes from the
special teams aspect. He's proven that he can return, he
can play on teams, he can go down and cover.
But then also we saw, especially in that final drive

(16:20):
with Jason Been clearly there's a good target there that
he had. I mean, they've earned some chemistry there, but
in some ways, like you look at the starting receivers
on his Colts team and it's like you know that
if Alec Pierce is out, you can slide ad Mitchell
into that role, if Josh Downs is out, you can
slide Anthony gould in that role. I think coleman Owen

(16:41):
is a guy that you really want to look at
it as maybe a one B behind Anthony gould in
what he can offer in that slot position. And you
know what you have in Ashton Doolan who is probably
going to be that fifth receiver. Yes, and he is
as solid as they come in the NFL. And we've

(17:02):
talked about Anthony Goulden having a really good camp, but
coleman Owen is proving that he might be a guy
that you might look up when roster cuts her in
that he may make this roster because he is doing
everything in his power to make it happen, and I
know you've been very excited and happy to watch him play.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Happy to see him play, happen, happy to see him
play out there wide receiver playing the slide, make some
plays and uses his little shifting us out there out
there in the slide.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
But also as a returner, I mean kickoff returner, returner.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
He can do those things and had a good day
returning kickoffs today against the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
So he did a nice job there.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
So he's an individual that can play both special teams
and also he can play a wide receiver. Now will
he make the team. I don't know if he'll make
the team. I don't know if he's gonna be in
a practice squad. I don't know any of that. But
what I do know is that when he had an
opportunity to make plays, he out there.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
And made plays.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
And that's all you can do as an individual as
a player, make plays and make the decision.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
For the coaches difficult. That's what you want to do
as a player.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
He had an opportunity, he took advance it. Now, if
he makes this team, I don't know, But this film
out there.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Right now, A thirty one other teams are seeing this.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Too, seeing it what this young man can do, see
him return kicks, seeing him go.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Out there and cut some balls.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
So it was very impreadive for him to go out there,
and very impreadive for young guys.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Just when they get the opportunity just to make the
most of it.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
And he has made the most of it having those
opportunities go out there and playing right.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
And one of the things that the Colts have a
lot of benefit having is depth at the receiver group.
So when you talk about him whether or not he
makes this roster, it may be a tough one to
make because of the depth there, but not every roster
has that luxury. Right There's some teams that may not
have six receivers deep, and they can look at him
as a guy that they can kind of multipurpose and go,

(18:43):
you know what, we can really use him. So I'm
not saying that I want to see coleman Owen playing
somewhere else, because I really enjoy see him in a
Colt's uniform. But what he's doing as a young guy
right now, as an undrafted player, really putting really good
tape out there. It's beneficial for him moving forward. Now,
another guy in a pretty crowded room. You've got Jonathan Taylor,
You've got Tyler Goodson who left today with an injury.

(19:05):
We don't know the severity of that. But you also
got DJ Giddens, who the Colds drafted veteran Khalil Herbert.
But I think Elisias Bentley is a guy who was
really I mean, honestly, I didn't know much about him
up until last week. You know, you've seen him at camp,
but he was just the guy wearing a number that
you weren't familiar with. And now he's really putting a
mark on this roster. And he's a guy that if

(19:26):
you have a couple of injuries like we mentioned, Khalil
Herbert's missed some time. Yes, Tyler Goodson left today, he
could be a guy that his number keeps getting called
and you may actually look at him as a guy
you can make.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
An impact exactly. I mean.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
And you know, like you said, these guys got hurt,
Tyler Gison got banged up, and you say Khalil Helbert's
banged up as well.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
This is an opportunity for these guys to step up.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Yes, you don't know that, you know it might mean
that you know what, because those guys are hurt.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
This is your opportunity to play, and this opportunity to
make a football team.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
And he's done a nice job quietly, you know, kind
of under the radar a little bit, you know, right,
not in a lot of people talking about him, but
just going out there doing his job. Yeah, in practice,
in the game, running hard, doing.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Little things that he's supposed to do. And we have
a guy like that in the football team. You feel good. Now.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
If I don't know if he could play special teams
or not, but you know what, that would help him,
you know, have an opportunity to make a football team.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
But when he's in there and running back, he's doing
a nice job.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Now. One final thing we talked about this last week
and they clearly didn't listen to us. But in the
preseason there's always things you can clean up. And I
think one thing that everybody would be agreeing on within
that coaching staff, and I'm sure in the locker room
players included was the penalties we had nine against Baltimore
last week. That was an area that was emphasized by

(20:43):
Shane Steikin. He said they want to clean that up today.
They had eleven. Now it doesn't touch what green Bay had.
It seemed like they had a penalty, especially that number
seventy one. This is a rough day for him. In
the first half of the he had five first half penalties.
So green Bay they were a lot more penalized in
the Colts today, but still eleven penalties out of the Colt.
You just cannot have that if you want to win

(21:03):
football games.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Yeah, it's very tough to win football games when you
have all those type of penalties, and that's something they're
gonna have to clean up.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
I know they had one uh it bordering ineligible.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Man down stuff like that, and ned a big play, gated.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
A big play. I think you had a d Mitchell
and holding penalty.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Those are the penalties that are going to hurt your
team as far as trying to win football games.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
It's very tough to win football games without.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Penalties, yes, but then when you get those penalties and
put you put yourself behind the eight ball, makes it
even more difficult to win football games. So that's something
they're gonna have to clean up. And you know, last
year they were a team that was one of the
least penaltied teams in the National Football League this year
hasn't been so now is that because some of the
young guys or it is because it's familiarity to yeah,

(21:48):
And is this getting back started again. I don't know,
but it's something that they're gonna have to clean up.
You don't want to have penalties going into the regular season.
You want to make sure you play clean football, so
you don't have those penalties that put you behind the
eight ball, especially put you off cadence in regardless to
first second down. You know, if you get second down
and the second and ten and you get seven yards

(22:09):
in that play in thirty and three, well you're on schedule. Yeah,
but then if you get a penalty, that makes it worse.
Right now you're behind schedule. So you don't want to
do those things to hurt your offense out there in
the football field. So hopefully that's something they can clean
up in the next couple of weeks, especially going into
the final preseason game and then getting ready for that
first regular season.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
So so last thing I have with you, Bill, and
this is just you know, former player understanding the importance
of what this week holds for a lot of those
guys fighting for their NFL livelihood if you will. This
is you know, you got three for the Colts, You
got three practices left in a preseason game. So those
guys on that back end of the roster, what do
you tell them? You know, this is this is the

(22:48):
last time to really put your your your final video
out there, for not only are the Colts, but the
thirty one other teams on You know why you should
stay in this league. So what do you tell those guys.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Let's go out there and have fun.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
You know this is right now, you're in an NFL
training camp. This is a dream come true, love vision individuals.
Make the most of it. Have fun, don't overstretch yourself
about it. But it's just still a kid's game.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Go out there, play hard, show them that you can play.
You have the talent to play in this league. Not
that you don't have the talent. You do have the talent.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
Just you know, this is much difference between the guys
who make it the guys who don't.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Just go out there and have fun and show the
coaches what you can do.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
And then after that, if you give the best, you
can give the most, you can practice the hardest, play
the hardest.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Then let the chips fall.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
Where they may and then see what happens, and then
you know what, you can hold your head up high
regardless of what the decision.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Is and said you give your best.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
There you go. Big week for a lot of the
players here on this gold roster because a week from
Tuesday they will cut the roster from ninety to fifty three.
So we've got practice Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, with that final
preseason game in Cincinnati on Saturday. Training camp portion that
was up at Grant Park is over. So these final
three practices, if you will, kind of just with you know,

(24:05):
some Colts, mini media contingent and the staff here at
West fifty sixth Street. But it's it's a big week
for a lot of players. There are gonna be I
think it's I saw eleven hundred free agents, wow, cut players, wow.
When you know a week from Tuesday comes around. So
if you think about what it means to make an
NFL roster that putting in numbers on it, it's a
pretty wild thing. So really really a fun week because

(24:28):
you know, you get to see the best out of
these guys because they are fighting every inch they can
to prove that they belong. But It's also a tough
week because rosters will never look the same. There's a
bunch of these guys that have made great relationships and
they're gonna be you know, finding new homes and all
of that. So tough week coming up, but we're gonna
have all of your post game coverage next week on
Instant Reaction following the Colts preseason finale when they are

(24:51):
in Cincinnati against the Bengals. Four Bell Brooks, I am
Casey Value, Bill, thank you so much. I really appreciate
you making so easy on. Will rejoin you next Saturday
for Instant Reaction right here for the podcast, hm
