Speaker 1 (00:17):
Welcome into JAGSA. I'm happy New Year.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I'm Kindanni Stephens, fran Sexton and John Oser are with
me today and we've made it. It's the final week
of the regular season. The Jaguars are gonna head to
Indianapolis face off against the Colts in their final game
of this season. We'll start out with big thing number one,
which is one more time, one more game for everybody
this year, and that includes quarterback Mac Jones, who's trying
to make a name for himself.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
It's tough, you know. You're, like I said, trying to
be where your feet are, trying to keep it simple,
trying to take it one play at a time and
not thinking about the outcome of the game or the
season or what's gonna happen next day. It doesn't matter
because at the end of the day, we're out there
playing because we love the game. We want to have fun,
and I know both teams are gonna do that this week.
It's a great, great defense we get to go against.

(00:59):
Always is a tough defense, a lot of good players,
roll coached, and so it's an opportunity really, which is
how I look at it. And I'm gonna control what
I can control and let the chips fall Brian.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
In many ways, this season has felt like a marathon
of sorts. We've finally reached the final week and mac
Jones is going to try to make the best of
it for himself to land somewhere New.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
You know, he came here with the idea that this
would be a rehab job, you know, and it turns
out not to the extent of a Baker Mayfield or
a Sam Darnold, but for him, if he could get
the job done, he would have given the Jaguars. You know,
they've got four wins on the season. If they win
on Sunday, he'll have given them three or five. And

(01:39):
in order for them to win, he's gonna have to
play well. So there will be opportunities for him around
the National Football League, maybe not to step in and
be the starter, but there'll be an opportunity if he
plays well, someone will be interested in him.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
So he's got a lot to play for.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
Although John, I mean when he's in front of the
media like he was there, he's relaxed. He gon knock
like that's what's driving him. He actually he just wants
to go play well on Sunday. Which gives him a chance.
I think because he's focused on the here and now.
What does he say being worst feed.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
Are Yeah, he's been there before.

Speaker 7 (02:10):
He knows how to handle the media, and he knows
how he wants to handle the media, which is by
saying very little when he's on the podium.

Speaker 6 (02:17):
He clearly he knows what the stakes are.

Speaker 7 (02:20):
He alluded to it a little bit when he talked
on Wednesday about Look, you know, that's always the million
dollar question, where you're gonna be next year, what the
contract's gonna be. I anticipate Mac having a long career
in the NFL. I would anticipate him going to a
spot where he'll have a chance if a quarterback who
is less obviously the guy than Trevor Lawrence is in

(02:41):
that system, then he may go there with the chance
of if this guy falters, this is more beatable. He
has in the last couple of weeks shown to me
that he can absolutely be a backup quarterback who can
come in and function. Remember his situation, a lot going
wrong around him, a lot of injuries, so he has

(03:03):
not had a full arsenal weapons and he's still seven touchdowns,
seven interceptions. He's been fine, and I expect him to be
a backup next year.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
All right, look at our second big thing today, which
is carryover. We talk about what a win would mean
at this point in the season. Doug Peterson tried to
figure out exactly what that would mean to the team.

Speaker 8 (03:20):
It definitely can, I think it. I think it just
leaves that that good taste, that feeling of winning, you know,
especially now here we start to start a new year
and and have an opportunity, you know, to do that.
I think just gives you a little momentum, gives you
the hope that you want and that you need, and
then and then you work on what you need to fix.
So if we can do that, and plus we finished

(03:43):
four and two in the division, if that's if that's
the case, you know, but playing a good football team,
you know, right running back, quarterback, I mean, you know,
defenses I think six in the NFL and takeaway I mean,
it's a good football team. So we gotta we gotta
go and keep our keep our mind.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Right John, At this point, obviously, this season is what
it is. Is there any takeaway from this or is
it still just getting the young players out there getting
that experience.

Speaker 7 (04:08):
Look, they're programmed to win, so they're gonna go out there.
They're gonna prepare all week to try to win. Once
the game starts, they're gonna try to win. Unfortunately, we've
been hammering this theme for five weeks because this will
be the fifth consecutive game the Jaguars have played where
neither team had any chance of the playoffs, which that
might be a record. I don't know that's ever happened before.

(04:31):
So do they go out and yes, they'll play younger players.
They've been gearing toward that. Jordan Jefferson got in the
lineup last.

Speaker 6 (04:41):
Week.

Speaker 7 (04:42):
Sounds like Doug still wants to get Tray Princeton there
at some point. I anticipate more of it, because Brian,
this that's all there is.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
Yeah, let me give you a little different perspective. If
the Jaguars win on Sunday, they'll finish four and two
in the division for the third straight year, which would
be the best three year run in the division. But
the they've had and the reason the division is important
is because it's the surest way to.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
The playoffs, right.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
But he will be five and one against the Colts
and five and one against the Titans, just two and
four against the Texans.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Again, it's important to play well in the division.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
And one of the reasons why I'm optimistic that this
can be a quick turnaround is the Colts don't have
their quarterback and they're aging on defense, and the Titans
don't have their quarterback.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
And you know what's there.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
You lost twenty four to twenty and twenty three to
twenty to the Texans. So the gap in this division
is between you and the Texans, and it's not as
big as it would appear at some moment in time.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
So going out and.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Playing well in a divisional game at the end of
the season does matter. It might not matter to individual players,
right let me say that again.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
It might not.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
Matter collectively to a team that would win just five games,
if that's the case, but individual players, I think that
it would. So I'm all for them going and winning
and playing hard on Sunday because I think that the
division is paramount. It doesn't matter what your record is.
If you win the division, you're in the playoffs. And
that's what we're talking about wanting to be back in
in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
We're going to do our final big thing today, which
is players made plays. We talked a lot about some
of the younger guys making big plays last week in
this game against the Colts, Brian, when you look at
the players that need to step up, who are some
names that you're thinking about this week?

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Well, Mason Smith and Jordan Jefferson.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
We can never say enough about them because the Jaguars
have gotten better pressure the last two weeks because He's
pushed the pocket from the interior, which makes your big
guys on the outside, Trayvon Walker and Josh heinz Allen
much more effective. I think we've seen enough for BTJ
not to worry about that. How about some more from
Parker Washington and Brenton Strange and Tank big Spy on
the offensive side. It never hurts to see Anton Harrison

(06:41):
play well. Look, the Colts don't have a ton of
sacks this year, but Quitty Pink can come off the edge, right,
Latu Latsu, their first round draft pick, can come off
the edge. The Colts can make things difficult on your quarterback.
So let's see Anton Harrison play well also. And then
I've been banging the drum for Trey Prince. For whatever reason,
he just doesn't get on the Field, but john there's
no reason not to play in this week started for

(07:02):
goodness six. Get him out there, see if he's got
what it takes to play.

Speaker 6 (07:07):
Yeah, Brian took every young player.

Speaker 7 (07:09):
On the roster, so uh tend to do that. I'll
go Antonio Johnson. You know, I like to see him. Uh,
You've got to see if he can be a guy
that you don't have to worry about that spot in
the off season.

Speaker 6 (07:21):
So adding to Brian's rather lengthy list, all.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Going Antonio Johnson.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Fair enough, that's a couple of names to keep an
eye on. Stay with us here.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
We're going to talk a little bit more about last
year's draft picks and what's coming up this weekend in Indianapolis.
Welcome back to jag Zam, brought to you by Field
to Auto Group, Jacksonville's premier luxury autogroup. You can head
over to Fields Auto dot com to check them out.
Welcome you back into jag Zam or first of the

(07:50):
new year, Welcome to twenty twenty five, and we're going
to talk a little bit about the twenty twenty four
draft picks. Obviously first round draft pick. We're all very
familiar with Brian Thomas junior. But Doug Peterson talked a
little bit about what he thinks the ceiling is for
Brian Thomas.

Speaker 8 (08:05):
Well, I think the benchmark would have to be a
guy like Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, right, I think it'd
have to be those hypeer receivers, you know, and and
and you know, obviously his rookie numbers this year. We
talked about Randy Moss, who's a Hall of Fame wide receiver,
you know, and not not putting BT in the Hall

(08:25):
of Fame yet, but he's he's on the He's got
at least a start. But I think you got to
look at Justin Jefferson, Jamar and those guys and say, hey,
you know, if he's in that company, then I think
you can continue to get better. And those guys continue
to improve, and their ceiling is extremely high, and their
impact players for their teams, right, They're they're game changers

(08:47):
for their teams and and and that's what we see
Brian Thomas as.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Here Doug bart talking about Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, those
are names you want to hear. And then we've heard
record breaking numbers this week from Brian Thomas, you're hearing
and Moss. Those are all nice names to be situated against,
and the ceiling does seem high because of how quickly
he's been picking things up this year.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
So I grabbed him after he did his press conference
just to to do a quick pregame radio interview. And
my comment to him was, my question to him was
you hear all the names, and I mentioned all of
those who do you measure yourself against? Who do He
said me, He goes, I'm not Randy Moss. It's not
fair to put me in the same conversation with Randy Moss.
And those two guys from LSU, Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
I mean, they've done it at a very high level.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
He said, my whole goal is to go out and
be the best Brian Thomas I can be every single Sunday.
And I just I love that that approach, and I
think he can be Justin Jefferson.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
I think he can be Jamar Chase.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
Just watching that play right there against the Colts, the
eighty five yard touchdown, There's.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
No doubt he can do those things. John.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
We heard so much about him in Young Athletes, and
you've talked about this. They get by on their athleticism
and they get by on their inst thinks. But we've
been told that his football intellect is so high it's amazing.

Speaker 7 (10:04):
Yeah, it's Uh, you don't usually get that sort of
combination of that.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
And have it be this evident this quickly.

Speaker 7 (10:15):
I don't know where he'll eventually stack up against Jamar Chase,
Justin Jefferson, and then whoever else is coming out the
receiver position. We're in a time where it's becoming clear
that there are gonna be more great receivers. Uh, there's
more great ones coming out. The college game is more

(10:36):
pass oriented than ever, So you're going to get to
a point where most teams have a guy. I don't
know if it'll be better than uh Jamar Chase just
as there's but I know he's got a chance to
be special.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
He has.

Speaker 7 (10:52):
He has hall of fame traits, right, So I'm not
saying he's a hall of famer.

Speaker 6 (10:57):
There's a long road, but.

Speaker 7 (11:01):
There's no reason he can't be that because everything you
hear is that we see the ability and to get
to that level of ten year greatness, right, you know
which it takes. Now, you've got to combine it with
work ethic, professionalism, awareness, staying straight off the field, all
those things right, Well, so far, there's nothing to indicate

(11:24):
that this kid isn't special on or off the field.
The way he carries himself, there's a humility about him.
He's the only thing I've ever covered that reminds me
of this is Fred Taylor in ninety eight.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
I was just about to say that, you know, you
know what you're watching when you watch Fred Taylor right
when Jalen Ramsey was here. I mean, you knew he
was a special athlete. Tony BISSELLI, Tony Bracken's, Jimmy Smith.
There's been a handful of guys that I believe in
Jaguars history had Hall of Fame ability.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
That's what I'm watching with him.

Speaker 6 (11:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (11:56):
The two best rookies that ever covered were Fred and
I covered Bob sam in Indy during a short he
was always hurt.

Speaker 6 (12:04):
He played four or five.

Speaker 7 (12:04):
Games as a rookie, right, and veterans would go to
the sideline to watch Bob play. Yeah, veterans on defense
go and watch.

Speaker 6 (12:13):
Brian Thomas play. There's a magic to the kid.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
It's different kind. I mean, you just it's different. You
covered the Patriots with Tom Brady.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
You know, it's pretty special to see it, and it's
exciting to see him picking things up so quickly as
a young player, because, as we talk about, there's a
lot of very special.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Athletes that make it to the NFL.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Obviously, it's a lot of people that maybe aren't as
athletically gifted, but they're very very smart and they understand
the game. And to see it both in the same person,
that's when you get something special.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
I just want to add one thing. His humility. I
mean the way that he stands.

Speaker 5 (12:42):
And I asked him after he had done his news conference, Hey,
can I grab your real quick?

Speaker 4 (12:45):
He goes absolutely, yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
I mean there are so many players that would say no,
I just talked, I'm not going to do that again.
For a young player like that, who has so much
attention on him to go sure, what do you want
to know?

Speaker 7 (12:54):
And the interactions in the locker room that we've all
been in there, there's no diva about this kid with
his teammates. His teammates love him, the veterans want to
see him do well. There's no it's h He's got
a chance to have a memorable legendary type career, and

(13:17):
I know we're going way overboard for a rookie, but
when you see that.

Speaker 5 (13:21):
It's there and they moved back twice in the first
round to get him, it blows my mind.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
It did.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yes, they did, And that's that's one of the good
things that came out of that draft.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Absolutely for certain.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
We'll talk about the second round draft pick as well,
because Doug Peterson talked a little bit about Mason Smith
yesterday and we haven't seen a ton of him earlier
in the season, but we have seen him lately and
he's been coming on and we've been seeing flashes. And
Doug Peterson talked a little bit about that.

Speaker 8 (13:46):
The fact that he's he's gotten a lot of lot
of time, he's gotten a lot of playing time, you know,
and and continues to improve each week, you know, and
and and does some really good things out there, and
and you know, and that's what you want. That's what
you a guy that the player that that we took,

(14:06):
you know, high in the draft, who you know, we
knew probably as the season started they were going to
be some growing pains, you know, with with that, But
the more he's played, the better, the better he's uh,
and he's he's he's fought through injury this season too,
so he's had to deal with that and and so

(14:26):
you know, for young player, he's uh, he's really come
a long way and and I think on the track
to be a, you know, a good player for us.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
So obviously Mason Smith, another LSU product, came out in
the second round that was gonna be a little bit
more of a project. Some people felt it was a reach.
John we didn't see a ton of em early. We've
seen him now in the back half of this season.
What can we expect from him next year after seeing
what we've seen the last couple of games.

Speaker 6 (14:49):
Well, you know, I think you expect a monster year.
I mean it's it's uh.

Speaker 7 (14:55):
I don't go overboard based on four starts, but you're
seeing secks and four starts, two sacks, So that would
translate to what about eight or nine over the course.

Speaker 6 (15:03):
Of the season.

Speaker 7 (15:05):
If you get that out of defensive tackle, you're getting
big time production.

Speaker 6 (15:09):
He was a little bit of a project.

Speaker 7 (15:12):
But sometimes with a defensive lineman, if you're saying why
did't he play?

Speaker 6 (15:17):
Why didn't play?

Speaker 7 (15:17):
And Doug petersonsalk, but that's a harder position to adapt
to than wide receiver because there's more going on. You're
playing against men for the first time in your life
who can beat you with You can't win just on
your athleticism anymore. It seems like Mason is taking that step.
He He's as important to me Brian as the Brian

(15:40):
Thomas junior story, because if he's a guy who can disrupt,
it gives you three guys up front who matter and
that coordinators have to account for. Now you're getting into
a number where you're a hard defensive line to handle.

Speaker 5 (15:53):
Yeah, listen, he can be a double digit sack guy.
The Jaguars in there thirty year history had one Garry
Walker on the defensive tackle, not a defensive vent.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
Here's the thing.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
He's got Chris Jones and Jeffrey Simmons type traits.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
Right.

Speaker 5 (16:09):
He's tall, he's long, he's powerful, he's disruptive.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
That doesn't mean he's going to be that good.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
But remember he was the number one recruit in the country,
went to LSU, tore his acl and hadn't.

Speaker 4 (16:21):
Had the opportunity to really be who he could be.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
By the way, both Jones and Simmons had injuries at
Mississippi State that cost them draft selection as well. Simmons
down at the bottom of the first round and Chris
Jones into the second round. So he's got the ability
to be that kind of a player. Now again, we
talked about Brian Thomas. It's work ethic, it's perseverance, it's
staying healthy, all the.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
Things that have to go.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
If he is what he's capable of being, well, then
the Jaguars have an absolute gem in the middle of
their defensive line. We haven't seen enough of it yet
this year, but in just glimpses, you can tell that
if they turn that on, if they get that engine fired.
Remember he talks about his dad was an oil field
worker and his mom was a doctor. Is both of
them are. He's got the background, He understands what work

(17:08):
is all about. He talks about it extensively. I'm really
excited about his future.

Speaker 6 (17:12):
I think it's encouraging too.

Speaker 7 (17:14):
He talked about it publicly and didn't mind it that
he wasn't quite doing exactly what he needed to do
at the beginning.

Speaker 6 (17:18):
Of the year.

Speaker 7 (17:20):
Guess what these people are twenty two to twenty three
years old. You're in a complete different situation. It takes guys.
Different guys get it at a different pace, right, But
to me, the fact that he is aware of that,
knows and is working toward finding his way to do it.
If that stays true, he's if he's being real with that,

(17:44):
then I think he's going to be a real force.
And again, that gives you three forces up front. That
makes you a hard defensive line to block, and at
some point this defensive line needs to get hard to block.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Yeah, that's a great point, John. I felt like when
Mason was making that point about himself, saying I wasn't
quite preparing the way I need to be being in
the building and that makes this offseason a big deal.
And also having the self actualization to realize that at
his age, because sometimes it takes people a lot longer, and.

Speaker 6 (18:11):
I've known people who never get that.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
But Fred Taylor talked about it after his rookie season too,
and he had a great rookie season, but he talked
about how he had to get better at preparing, how
he ate what he did at night. So the great
ones are very aware.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Of what it takes to be great.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Yes, all good signs say, but this we're gonna give
you our predictions for the headlines on Monday after this
game against the Colts. Sutdeth is Florida's trusted and reliable

you can visit suttith dot com slash Jacks Welcome back

(18:57):
into jag Dan. We're gonna do our best to predict
the headlines for Monday today and what we think it
will be after the final game of the season. So, Brian,
when you're thinking about what we're going to be talking
about on Monday, what will it be?

Speaker 4 (19:09):
Horsepower?

Speaker 5 (19:11):
I think this is a tough matchup for the Jaguars
because their defense doesn't stop the run particularly well, and
if Joe flackos the quarterback, they don't stop the pass
very well. And I anticipate we'll see Anthony Richardson and
Jonathan Taylor for the first time together, and I think that'll.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
Be too much for the Jaguars. Listen, I get it.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
The Colts went in and they laid down like dogs
in New York last week. I mean, just what a
terrible look for them in the playoff hunt to lose
to a team that had lost ten in a row
and was playing for the number.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
One overall pick.

Speaker 5 (19:43):
By the way, that's the second time they've done that
in the last four years. They got something that's wrong
with the DNA of that franchise right now. But I
do think that the Jaguars are going to struggle against
that combination of Richardson and Jonathan Taylor. And I don't
know what the score will be, but I think Jonathan
Taylor a chance to have another big day.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (20:01):
I kind of wonder if the Colts will care about this,
so just based on what they did last week, and
then there's a lot of there's a lot of stuff
in the water right now up there.

Speaker 6 (20:10):
Uh, that's always hard to predict, but it is a
tough matchup.

Speaker 7 (20:16):
If the Colts were in it, I would favor them,
except for the fact that they seem lately to lose
games at the end of the season that you normally
think that teams are gonna win because of motivation.

Speaker 6 (20:28):
So I think the Jags are still fighting.

Speaker 7 (20:32):
In these last five games they've been eliminated, they've won twice,
they've played close.

Speaker 6 (20:35):
In the others, so I think it'll be close. And
I think j always figured a way to pull it out.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
So I went with.

Speaker 7 (20:42):
Closing fast and for my guy Dewey up there, because
I think they'll have a.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
Pick six sixth Calfday last week pick six.

Speaker 7 (20:50):
I think he'll have a pick six and the and
the lasting image of the season will be the four
locks going on the sidelines of Lukasolo State.

Speaker 5 (20:56):
If Anthony Richardson plays possible plays, but he throws it
like seven times a game.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Well he'll throw to the other guy kid, all right,
that's also true.

Speaker 6 (21:05):
He can find doing in the flat.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Sure, why not? I am similar too On.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
I am going with the I don't know what the
effort level is gonna be with the Colts this week,
so I went with one for the road. For our
boy Mac, it's a final win on the way out
as he tries to find a new landing spot.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
I don't think he'll be back here next year. I
would love him as a.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Backup, but I don't think that's gonna work out that way.
I think he's gonna try to figure something out somewhere else,
so hopefully he gets a win. I think that chemistry
with Brian Thomas Junior, why not give him the ball?
Have another good day for him as he tries to
finish out his rookie season. So I think that'll lead
to a Jaguars win. Let's be optimistic till the end.
That's what I'm gonna do.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
Stay with us. We will tell you a little bit
more about what's coming up this week and some Pro
Bowl announcements.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Jags fans, if you want customized Jaguars furniture for your home,
checkout zipchare dot com about all the customizable options.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Zpchair is furniture for fans.

Speaker 7 (22:02):
Jones free Blitzer right which Jones gets it out quickly.

Speaker 8 (22:06):
Just masterful from Jones as he finds Thomas to the
Jacksonville took down.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
It's wow, it's too slow park.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Brian Thomas Junior miked up last week against the Titans.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
He had a great day and doesn't talk all the time,
but when he does, it's on the field and it
is very entertaining.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
So you definitely want to check that out.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
Can you imagine what he's going to be if this
offense can find another receiver that's consistent for them, and
the tight end is back and in a position to
spread the field out for him and they play consistently
well on offense, which we haven't seen since the midpoint
of last season. That kid is going to be so
much better than he's been this year. He's been really good.

Speaker 7 (22:58):
When he saw a couple of times early when Trevor
who throws a good deep ball, when Trevor found him
it as they were starting to build.

Speaker 6 (23:07):
That Yeah, he's he's we've gone over it. There's we
have shows in the off season just.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
About guess I'm sure we'll just be about with Brian.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Some of the the Pro Bowl announcements coming out today,
Brian Thoms Junior was up for that, not named a starter,
but in the mix in terms of alternates, so depending
who decides to go, he may be ending up a
Pro Bowler this year as well. But two Pro bowlers
we do know from the Jaguars, of course, coming from
special teams, we may have many questions about this team
at times. Special teams is not one of those. Rosmatis
Sis second year in a row. He was an All

(23:37):
Pro last year as well, and Logan Cook making the
cut as well.

Speaker 5 (23:41):
Logan Cook is one of the best hunters that I've
seen in thirty years of playing this game. And people
will make jokes well Yeah, the Jaguars of needed their punter,
and they certainly have in his time here. But his
ability to just flip the field is such a weapon.
If this defense was playing well, people would realize just

(24:01):
what a weapon he is. He really can make a
huge difference. And you don't want to be using your
punter too much, but when you use this one, he
can change the game for you.

Speaker 7 (24:10):
Yeah, and he's been really consistent at a high, high
level for a long time.

Speaker 6 (24:15):
Punters can sort of.

Speaker 7 (24:17):
It can be tough to get Pro Bol recognition as
a punter because sometimes you get it in a year
where you shouldn't, et cetera, et cetera. It's hard to
be like an eight time Pro Bowl punter. There's so
many So good for Logan, who has been really good
for a long time. And ross he talks about long snappers. Second,

(24:40):
hearing always been the best.

Speaker 6 (24:41):
In the league. And a Pro Bowl mustache too, by
the way, that's low.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (24:45):
Yeah, that's Logan's first Pro Bowl, is it not. Yes,
So he's the first Pro Bol punter for the Jaguars
since nineteen ninety seven when Brian Barker went.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
So congratulations to Logan.

Speaker 7 (24:54):
And a word Brian Thomas Junior is the first alternate,
by the way, which means a very high percentage chance
that he goes. My anticipation is that he will not
have to wait for that honor in very many seasons,
and he's gonna be there. Trayvon Walker the fifth alternate
and Josh Allen the fourth alternate on defense. Again, I
think if the Jagg's having a better season, those guys

(25:16):
would be higher, But those are the guys that I
know about in terms of alternates.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
So we'll keep an eye on that and let you
know next week if anything changes in regards to that.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Either way. We'll be back on Monday to talk about
the final game of the season. Joy Weekend, Enjoy the game.
