There we go.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
We got there, okay, And who were waiting on? I'm
just saying we're not.
Speaker 5 (01:02):
So you wanted a fall guy and now you're throwing
him under the buck.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
I'm not I'm just saying we got a third a
force member that's coming.
Speaker 6 (01:08):
He just not here yet. He's on his way. That's
all I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
Selective.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Selective, Okay, good Clariens. You waste no time getting your
shots here.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
That was not a shot shot across the bowl and
not a shot, the shoes clear and playing. We could
have just rolled the show and not even mentioned. Let hey,
it is what it is. It is what it is. Okay,
it is what it is. Are the Cowboys done a
free agency? That's that's where we start the show today.
Speaker 6 (01:40):
What have they done in fre agency? Let's start there.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
Brought back Dante, they got brought back a man who
had ten sacks last year, didn't have what ten half?
Speaker 4 (01:50):
That's right on the playoff team went to the NFC Championship.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Then nobody and nobody wanted and he cried all on Twitter.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
He made it known he was.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Just, well, you bring the cheap shot every time, Joe,
What have we not noted.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
The fact that he was complaining on Twitter for the
first few days of Fred and said by the season
he had all these guys getting money and he wasn't
getting money.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
So he's like, look at my pressures, look at my salaries.
You know there's there's a difference.
Speaker 6 (02:22):
I mean, it was a fact.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
And he came back to the Cowboys, and then he
went to DC with Dad Quinn and this guy from
Jacksonville and guy in Atlanta, and then Dan Quinn, Levy
Mangan came back.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
To Jerry, but they're not done in fregency.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Okay, they're not done.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
What if they've done is the question just said something
they brought in the guy that got Okay, let's let's
let's let's set let's reset it. Then the Cowboys did
nothing in pregnancy last year. This year they've been active
and replenishing a roster, even though Jerry said they had
no voids that they needed to fill in freegency.
Speaker 6 (02:59):
But it looked like they've been filling void like a mofo.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
Yeah, a lot of boys.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Two running backs, two linebackers. They showed up. You know,
he's got depth on the defensive line, at end and
at tackle. They traded for a cornerback because they don't
know if Chevin Diggs's gonna be ready.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
And they lost Jordan.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Lewis, Rage andcy sound like. And then they added their
receiver in Paris Campbell. Sound like they fill some voids.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
Oh, no doubt. I mean that's what made it ironic
from the very beginning about how they didn't have voids
is because if you looked at how many guys had
departed from the roster, they simply had to add guys
just to fill out a ninety man roster before training camp,
and so they've done a lot of that. I actually
think what they've done in terms of answering a lot
of questions with at least guys that you can have
until draft picks maybe come in and compete with them,
I think they've done a good job of adding depth
(03:48):
in some places. I just didn't like personally the timing
of it. And that's been kind of one thing I've
been hammering is while you're prioritizing depth pieces and rotational
guys and a bunch of you know, maybees in certain areas,
other guys their teams are out there going for their
big fish free agents and trying to sign big ones.
And so I think when you restructured the way they did,
I was kind of hoping that they would kind of
use the money to take a big swing. And ultimately
(04:10):
the biggest swing is a guy about a weekend free
agency who's the guy that you already know and Dante
Fower who just kind of came back.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Okay, I'll just throw this out here.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
As we do do this show in Frisco Cooper Cup,
they tried.
Speaker 6 (04:23):
Who is they.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Define they That was good?
Speaker 7 (04:31):
That was h.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
Right, I'm just taking facts.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Facts are not shots.
Speaker 6 (04:40):
Who is they?
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Yes, we know the quarterback Dak Prescott and there target
Ceedee Lamb did make contact with Cooper Cup to try
to get him to.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
The Cowboys, and they made you know, the old school
recruit and they caught him up. So the Scooper Cup
got cut by the Rams, they caught him up and
tried to recruit him to the CA Cowboy.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
You know, ceed said, I can't do it by myself.
Speaker 6 (05:03):
I need help, you know, I want help.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
One reason why I helped the Cowboys out by restructuring
my contract even though that was already a trigger in
his contract. But listen, I need help. He's acknowledged I
need left. Dak needs help. You know something I talked
earlier today about you look at Joe Burrow, okay, who
when he signed his contract the richest quarterback in football, right, yes,
And what.
Speaker 6 (05:23):
Did the Bengos did.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
They went and got him the richest receivering football or
paid the rich receiving football and have another receiver making
the highest paid number two receiver in football. Okay, they
went and got him. They didn't say, yeah, you make
all his money, then you need to make it work
with less, and they went and got him help and Jerry,
I mean, and Dak and see, we're trying to get
(05:46):
them help. And the Cowboys were interested until they found
out the asking price of.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
A mere fifteen million dollars.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
And they said, we got McDonald's money at home, or
we ain't got no McDonald's money.
Speaker 6 (05:57):
We got McDonald's at home.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
We signed Pairs Campbell to a bargain basement contract and
let Cooper Cup go to Seattle.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
They also had interest in Drake Greenlaw, and that's just
ultimately a price sack they weren't willing to go. And
you know, I keep thinking of there's a quote I
don't know, I'm not gonna say forbatim, but the gym
of the Dodgers basically says, hey, if you want to
be rational with free agency, then you're gonna finish third
place in those negotiations every single time. And I think
eventually you kind of have to make some irrational moves
in terms of how much money you're going to spend.
(06:25):
There's risks there, but for a guy like Cooper Cup.
Speaker 8 (06:28):
Fifteen million's not a lot of money, not when the
top receivers making forty and the other receivers making thirty
and thirty five, and you got a second receiver making
twenty eight.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Yep, you know, fifteen million dollars for a third receiver
is not a lot of them. We again, I talked
about it. I've been trying to. We have to retrain
our mind. What's a lot of money? Okay, we have
to retrain our mind. What's a lot of money? Because
all of this is a lot of money to me
on my poor reporter salaryal not on.
Speaker 7 (06:55):
That DLLL list salary.
Speaker 6 (06:57):
Yeah, yeah, this is a lot of report.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
No, tell that to somebody else.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
It's a lot of money.
Speaker 7 (07:03):
You know, you about a birthday gift for the first
time twenty years. Your money good.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
You don't know the backs anyway, You bought a line
of all of us a lot of money. Okay, But again,
is that really a lot of money?
Speaker 6 (07:17):
I mean, what do you what?
Speaker 2 (07:18):
What did you clear.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
The cap room for? You didn't clear for Michael. Maybe
you did not clear for Michael.
Speaker 7 (07:23):
Maybe you cleared it for somebody other than had three
leg injuries and don't play more. Who maybe just.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Because you got money, that's why we stay broke.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
Just because you got money don't mean you need to
spend money, Like who's talking.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
Sean Taylor?
Speaker 2 (07:40):
I come in fire and baby, who's talking? I'm sorry, Joe.
Speaker 9 (07:45):
Jock.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
It just just I don't need no introduction.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Who is this shooting shots?
Speaker 7 (07:53):
I mean, okay, when I started on the beat, some
bowl so I know what the teams see it.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
But but but again, what's a lot of money? What
did you clear the cap room four? And you say
maybe for somebody that, well, who else? Show me?
Speaker 7 (08:09):
Maybe they don't Just because you have money, don't need
to spend it on guys like maybe they wanted Devanta
Adams Man. He's an older guy who can play. That's
you know.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
I mean, Cooper couple carrying the water, don't care it's
a little water.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
That's a little water.
Speaker 6 (08:27):
Caring the water.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
God, keep carrying the water.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
Really, I just don't like paying ad that's all.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
You don't.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
You don't like winning either, if you if you coach
Downing with them, it's thirty years. We have to do
something different, so let's go. We can't have these tempole things.
I mean, they could do something different.
Speaker 7 (08:47):
They could get a real guy who's not over the
hills to play, but.
Speaker 6 (08:50):
They don't like, you know, do you know Devanta Adams
and Cooper Coat.
Speaker 7 (08:54):
One of them can still play one of them. I
have my questions about.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Okay, but they didn't go up to Devanta Adam because
they don't want to pay twenty.
Speaker 6 (09:00):
They don't want to pay nothing exactly.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
So yeah, chip me.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
In, and this is I think I know the answer,
but I'm just going to ask this, since do they
really think.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Mingo is going to do?
Speaker 5 (09:17):
No, they can't.
Speaker 6 (09:20):
I mean, no, they're not.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
And I asked that as a hope. I asked that
in the sense of.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
If you feel like this guy can't do anything, don't
you you push them?
Speaker 4 (09:31):
Chips in on Cooper Couple, like, hey.
Speaker 6 (09:33):
We but they got Pais Campbell, Sir, what Mingo Ingo?
Speaker 4 (09:37):
They gave They gave up a fourth rounder for Mingo.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
And one person in the building told someone that I
know that they thought Mingo had an opportunity to be
better than anybody that could get in the second or
third round of the draft.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
Issue, Well, I mean you had in the fact that, yes,
this draft class is actually not great receiver and the
top end guys, there's still some questions about and you know,
do you want to take one of twelve, and I
might be too rich depending on who it is. If
forty four, there might not be a good one there,
you know, because they might go in the middle between
those picks. It's not a great wide receiver draft class.
So I think that idea has merit, but nothing Jonathan
Mingo has shown us in two years suggests that he
(10:11):
could be a guy that could be her number two.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Yeah, and I think that that guy may have a
little too much dip on the chip when you talk
about the second round, maybe the third round, but they're
guys you can get in the second round. Luther Burton
is probably a guy and getting the second round that
will be better.
Speaker 6 (10:26):
Than Mingo.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
I mean, let's be honest. Migo ain't done nothing. He
ain't Peter Drop since he showed.
Speaker 6 (10:31):
Up in the NFL.
Speaker 7 (10:32):
I'm gonna say, I don't even have to go there.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
He's not done as much as Paris Campbell. That's done,
and he ain't done nothing. They said one good year,
I think would not hun the yard. But I'm just saying,
somebody just throw this out here.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Just looking at Matt DRAMs, you see a lot of
people putting running back to the Cowboys a lot of
people put wide receiver. If according to you, juel wide receivers,
then do you take a guy at twelve and try
to go get the running back later? Or do you say, hey,
Ashton Genty or Hampton or are you hampt it from
North Carote?
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Do you go and get the running back?
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Since you say you want to be a running football team,
and if you're running the ball, you're controlling the clock,
you can help save you DF.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
I think in terms of value, the best path is
to take a wide receiver at twelve and then circle
back with the running back of the Trevon Henderson.
Speaker 6 (11:16):
You know.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
Maybe I'm Marina anton Falls. I don't think it. I
think he'll be a first round pick, but I think
because Ashon Jeenie's probably gonna go at twelve, value wise,
it doesn't make sense. But I also don't know from
an instant impact perspective. If Ashton Genie's there, I take
him because I think that that's a guy that could
start for you, that could be a guy that I'm
proud of.
Speaker 7 (11:31):
You because I thought you was gonna go down this
analytical positional value they and pass on Genty at TWI.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
I wouldn't do it okay, And I think I think
they have a tough for you, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 7 (11:40):
I think they have a touchdown some growth and develop me.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Why you look like that, man, Well, you just analytical.
I don't pay age. I mean it's the same thing.
I mean you have different, different philosophy.
Speaker 6 (11:50):
That you stick to.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
I mean I'm flexa stick to.
Speaker 7 (11:53):
I'm flexible within my philosophies.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
That's want.
Speaker 7 (11:56):
I been married twice.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
I think the fascinating situation is if Ashton Genis's gone
and Tedoro McMillan, if that's your number one receiver he's gone,
then you're like, okay, we're at twelve. We're gonna try
to trade back. Well, a lot of people want to
trade back. The value might not be good there, so
we're gonna stick here. And you know what, we love
the Mario Hampton. Why don't we just do it there?
Or it's like ooh, you know, we love another receiver,
or we want to force things here. I think things
can get very interesting at twelve, depending on how the
(12:19):
draft falls before and for the Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
So traditionally we have seen a running back gives you
an opportunity to have the biggest impact as a rookie
than wide receiver.
Speaker 7 (12:29):
Yeah, but I think it's then it becomes on how
your board is staked. Is Omrio and Hampton? Is he
significantly better than the other running backs or is he
just a tad bit better than the other running backs?
And then the receiver is the better is the better player?
Speaker 10 (12:45):
Right?
Speaker 6 (12:45):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
We have to stick the best player available, and I
don't think the Hampton will be the best player available
at twelve. Hampton is forcing a need at twelve in
a deep running back draft where you can get your
force and you're forcing the need to work. I just
don't think they will do that. I don't care how
many times like the Corners, I don't how many times
that mail Kiper has mocked Hampton to the Cowboys the
(13:09):
last two. We'll see what he does the next two.
But he's done that. But I just don't see them
forcing and needed running back at twelve.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Let me ask you this, what if you drop at
fifteen and then you take Hampton and you pick up
a who's trading.
Speaker 7 (13:23):
Would you well?
Speaker 2 (13:25):
But he just said if you get a trade, and
would I would love to ta like what you did
with Micaeh think of it.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
I'm gonna move down. I would love it if you'll
have my need I move down and try to.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
To me if Genti's gone, I would love to trade back. Okay,
you know I would love I don't care if Ted
is on the board. I'd love to trade back. I
love to trade back option because picking up another pick.
Speaker 5 (13:47):
But what if trading back is just it's just kind
of delaying the inevitable and just kind of let let's
let everyone else figure out before we make our pick.
Because the only thing I think you're gonna get if
you're from twelve to fifteen, you're not getting like a
third round. I don't think you're gonna get a desperate
team that's gonna trade an extra pick. You might be
and like, all right, we're gonna pick up another fourth
and twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Do you think a trading back in the first round
gets you a fourth round pick?
Speaker 5 (14:05):
I don't. I think the market's bad for it. I
think knowing because there's so many middling picks about.
Speaker 7 (14:11):
What you see and what you won't it don't matter
what to.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Me, it's not the market is what did the what
the trade charts say, it's what it's what the chart says,
and what did the charts say to move back three
or four spots or in the first round.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
Desperate people make charts irrelevant. And then I think, also
not desperate.
Speaker 8 (14:28):
You brought up the same exact thing in the opposite
way you brought up.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Can somebody look real quick, what did the Cowboys get
with trading back when they got Parsons and they traded
back two spots?
Speaker 11 (14:38):
Right?
Speaker 5 (14:39):
Yeah, two spots with Philly and well last year twenty
four to twenty nine, I got an extra third, which
and then was kipper cup all.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Right, right, so twenty four to twenty nine, got got
the third.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
No, I hear you. What I'm saying is throw the
chart away because I think that nobody knows.
Speaker 6 (14:54):
Away.
Speaker 5 (14:54):
Bro, I'm throwing the chart away because I don't think
there's the value is going to be given. They don't
hear no. I know they're saying when that I don't
think they're gonna usually trade back.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Well, I'm just saying if they traded back, they're gonna
trade by the chart is all what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (15:06):
Okay, that's all I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
I'm saying I don't think it's gonna happen.
Speaker 6 (15:08):
Okay, that's fine.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
Yes, well what I'm saying, And so his point was
trading back, what can you get? And so if you
are getting a third round pick of twenty four to
twenty nine, you get from twelve trading back, you may
get a second round pick, or you may get a
higher third round pick. I'm just saying, and to me,
that would be.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
Worth it if it happens. Hypothetically, I think you're gonna
make a lot of calls on that, and you're gonna
get a lot of silence because I don't think a
lot of teams are gonna know that's fine.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
But hypothetically, if you could make a trade back, I
would do it.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
They have. Jerry's done this before the Roy Williams Draft six.
They wanted him.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Kansas City came up because they wanted Ryan Simms from Carolina,
the defensive tackle, and they do so Jerry will entertain it,
and then without having a four this year, I do
wonder if he will be open for business somehow if
they say, hey, look, we got a couple people that
we like here, let's get our.
Speaker 4 (16:01):

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Yes, it is because big guys are only gonna be
at their place anyway. There's certain guys that you know,
don't look for them. You're not gonna be there. You
showed it.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
I mean, I'm just saying Tech ran yesterday back in
Arizona and the two big guys from uh.
Speaker 6 (18:50):
Calbado or not here.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
I was not expecting its scataboo here.
Speaker 5 (18:54):
I don't think he's here. I don't think he's here.
DJ Giddens is here from Kansas State. Be a cowboy
shallow here.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
We talked Shallow is here. Shallow is here. I said
the big guys. Shallow got the big name, but he
not a big guy.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
That the course of course.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Clarence Hill, Joe Hoyt, Jack Taylor, I am new he scruggs.
Michael Parson's contract has been a topic of conversation on
social media.
Speaker 7 (19:25):
You need to quit try to break news.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Most trusted you Mike a guy. Mike is about to
have you on the podcast sooner or later.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
He's you know, we got we had to talk about that,
negotiate my terms.
Speaker 5 (19:36):
Hasn't been any negotiation with Mike and the Cowboys, and
so what we got I need to know.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
Most trusted.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
You know, yesterday some things started bubbling up on social
media because Michael's brother's very active. You know, a few
days ago he was battling with a dude from Philadelphia
and going back and forth and cursing, and then he
posted a picture of his daughter.
Speaker 6 (19:57):
He's a great dad.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Then yesterday he started posting about, you know, something brewing
with Mike and the Cowboy.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
And he and he posted about the d law too.
He posted his brother was into that too.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Oh yeah, yeah, that was that was that way that
went without saying that.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
Was the way he stayed bus That.
Speaker 6 (20:14):
Was way last week.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
So anyway he posted, he inferred or intimated that things
were brewing with Mike and the Cowboys, that something was
close to getting done and and all of the stuff.
And so I ran up the flag pole and I
got to know, and Sir Jane, you know, running up
the flag pole, and she she got to know, and
and and so.
Speaker 7 (20:32):
Mike Lesley ran up the flag pole.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
See but we said, were talked about trusted.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
But the bottom line is, you know, nothing's happening, but
doesn't mean nothing won't happen because I think the Cowboys
aren't going to get it done. The problem with the
Cowboys is, as we've talked about, they keep waiting. They
waited and they waited, and they waited. They let the
market jump and jump and jump again. And I know
we talked to Joe, We talked this morning about this,
(21:03):
and you know, they waited in the pass and they
waited on CD. It could happen to trading cat what too.
Speaker 10 (21:07):
Man.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
The difference with CD is CD was waiting for Justin
Jefferson's contract to get done. You know, Steve, when I
was talking about Take two too, tango. Well, Seedy and
his agent weren't tangling until Justine Jefferson's contract got done. Now,
they didn't have to wait another three months after that,
but they were waiting for that. There's nothing stopping the
cowboys from negotiating to getting the deal done with Michael Parsons.
(21:29):
They should have got it done. They should have got
ahead of the.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Curve last year.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
You know what last year, last month, you know, before
you know, the market was reset again and again and
again three times Crosby Garrett and now Jamar Chase. And
it's not just about being the highest paid defender. It's
also about being the highest paid non quarterback, which is
(21:55):
all on the table for Mike and his agent, who
never takes l's no.
Speaker 7 (22:00):
He's a bad man. He takes no, will's no.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
He cooks.
Speaker 7 (22:04):
He got number Ko's.
Speaker 6 (22:07):
He's good, you know, So get it done.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
I mean, there's nothing to stop him getting to Michael
says he wants to get it done. He wants to
be at OTA's. I mean, he wants to be a
part of that. He wants to be a promise. He's
gonna be here, you know. If he doesn't have a
contract done, he shouldn't be here because you don't want
to get injured and you know, in a fluke injury
to work out and cost yourself money and a business
(22:32):
thing at that point.
Speaker 5 (22:33):
Yeah, And I think one thing I wanted to spell
too is like, yeah, it does take two to tango, right,
but no other team in the NFL maybe the Bengals,
and they paid the price for it takes as long
to tango and the Dallas Cowboys. I mean, you look
it around and players are signing deals. Derek Stingley like,
he signs a nice three year deal, right, who is
his agent? David will get it? And the reason why
they get that deal done for good for both sides
(22:53):
is that allows the Texans that flexibility that allows them
to lock up Derek Singley, a guy who's been a
premier corner for the long and it also allows Derek
Singer to get back to the negotiating table early and
go renegotiate again. And I think one thing people, maybe
I'm just too online. I saw on social media, but
they're like, well, you know they want to hold the
Cowboys to the very end because that's when they can strike. No,
players don't turn down early money. Why would they want
(23:16):
to do that. Hey, this is not a situation that
happens anywhere else aside from Cincinnati. And I don't know
if that's kind of the team you want to be
in the same group with.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
At the end of the day, the day going in,
the money is going to be the money in terms
of yeah, he's gonna sign it. I mean, he's like
Miles Garrett, trade me. I want to win super Bowl?
Yeah he is forty million. Oh yeah, super Bowls are fine.
But I'm gonna be here, so I get it.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
Now.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
One thing I'll say this about Cincinnati, which I totally
don't understand. Why are you signing t Higgins and letting
Trey Hendrickson walk out to do it?
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Why?
Speaker 1 (23:46):
I mean to me, if I got the receiver, I
got defense, I can go shake a tree and find
another receiver. I will go do that. That's the scouting department,
Go find me another receiver. But to find another defensive
player like that.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
Joe Burrow wanted both of them, and he also wants
Tray and they're actually negotiating with trade.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
Now will they get that done?
Speaker 2 (24:05):
I don't know what they're not trading him that they're
certainly that they're you know, people have asked. They're not
trading him at this point, and so they're negotiating. We're
trying to get a deal done with Trade, and Trade's
gonna want Max Crosby money. He's gonna want Michael Partner money.
He's gonna want Miles Garrett money. He's gonna want t. J.
Whitte money because he's been that type of player for them.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
I just look over just my philosophy. Over all, two
wide receivers are nice, scoring a lot of points. But
in that division. Oh, by the way, there's some guy
named Lamar Jackson there. I I've got to be able
to get to him. I give me the pass rusher,
a number one receiver. I'll go and find and do
what I can to get a number two. You know,
find me a pookah. That's the Scotting Department. Go go
(24:43):
get us pooka poo hookah.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Nicola even's so good. They said goodbye a Cooper now
and then we ain't got Devanta.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
I know they they said goodbye the Cooper because Cooper
had fell off, not because Cooper was so good, but
but but.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Also allowed them to go, hey, we're gonna go. You
go find a guy. That's the old ultimate thing. You
could go find a guy before, I.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Would say, and Cincina defense that that offense and the
receivers helped me get to the super Bowl, which Lamar
Jackson has yet to get to.
Speaker 5 (25:14):
Also helped him go what seven and ten last year
or however they did because they could not stop anyone.
Speaker 6 (25:22):
I mean, they're gonna use the draft to improve the defense.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
But there's not a Trey Hendrickson. I don't think a
defensive end.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
No, I think, but at this point, they're trying to
resign Trey and they need help certainly, But you know
their formula, their formula, not our formula.
Speaker 6 (25:37):
You know more than one way to skin a cat.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
But they want to keep their offense strong, make make
what's strong strong, keep what strong strong, and improve other areas,
but keep what's strong strong and try.
Speaker 7 (25:48):
To win some games before October.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Yeah, back to the Cowboys, speaking of Trey Hendrickson, you're
talking about impact players, and all right, you want to
sign Michael Parsons. What else do they need to do
now that they've tried to fill a couple of holes.
Do you still feel he's be helping defensive tackle, defensive
line line.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
I mean, are you happy? Where else are you saying, hey,
go fix this and try to trade for a quarterback?
What are we thinking here? Most trusted?
Speaker 2 (26:14):
The question is, like I said, they've made a lot
of moves, but are they better?
Speaker 6 (26:17):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (26:18):
And I don't know if they're preachingly better than the word.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
In the last season?
Speaker 2 (26:21):
You know, you you you sign Fowler and you uh,
but you're losing DeMarcus Lawrence, you know, and and and
so you're.
Speaker 6 (26:30):
You you sign?
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Are you trade for some linebackers? But you losing Eric Kendrick.
I don't think the two linebackers they got were betting
Eric Hendricks.
Speaker 5 (26:39):
I don't think so either, you know?
Speaker 2 (26:41):
And so you you you trade for a cornerback, but
you lose Jordan Lewis And you still don't know if
treval On Day's gonna field?
Speaker 6 (26:48):
Are you better? You know? And so what can you
do to get better?
Speaker 2 (26:52):
You let Brandon Cooks go in for agency signed Paris Campbell.
He's not betting Brandon Cooks, not at this age. You
know he has been more predictian than to right. And
so are you better?
Speaker 11 (27:06):
You?
Speaker 6 (27:07):
You let Rico Dodo go? You signed to running backs?
Speaker 2 (27:10):
They're not they were not more productive Rico last year,
you know, and so you still have work to do,
you know, And there's so much talk about whether you
go get the receiver. I think you still need to
show up the defensive line.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
You know.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
You you basically got one backup and Solomon Thomas okay,
and he's a backup three technique. You really have no
backup one technique and you still need numbers there, you know. Uh,
I guess you're gonna play with the linebackers you have.
But cornerback, receiver, those are still places you could use help.
Speaker 5 (27:43):
Slock corner is the big one for me, and like
I like the idea of you know, potentially having you know,
Kaylen Carson and is I Kwama. I like them competing,
but we've also have not seen enough from them in
training camp to suggest that like those are lockdown you
can have that. That's great. The fact that they haven't
addressed slock corn own externally makes me wonder if a
guy like Jade Baron could be in play A twelve
(28:03):
for them. And I know he's got short arms, but
I think in the slot it's less valuable. I know
he Refluce wants long arm guys, but That's kind of
the one wildcard I think for the Cowboys. For me personally,
is you maybe sneaking to Jade Barron at twelve?
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Yeah, and you still got something to Samuels and other
guys out there forra so that you could that could
play the slot.
Speaker 6 (28:23):
Sing you when we come back.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
He's there too, he bitten it.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Think about this guy, think deep he what's the one
position group on this Cowboy roster?
Speaker 4 (28:36):
Right now? Did you say Okay, I can roll with that.
Let's do that next?
Speaker 1 (28:43):

Speaker 2 (31:32):
So except we had to have textas that Big twelve
championship trope. He wasn't looking good that day. Was not
looking good that day, a tenth day and.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
When we're getting boom boom, your boy he.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
Didn't mind it.
Speaker 6 (31:51):
Yeah he minded, Oh he minded it.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Guys made money for the for the god. And we
said that's right. But you had leaving that check. Yeah,
leaving that check. Who didn't have them a trophy?
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Greg Sanky, this is Donkey Ladder. Don't know now know
we got we don't do this now we got can
we stay there?
Speaker 6 (32:19):
Don't do this?
Speaker 1 (32:20):
You what's the one position group that we feel good about?
Speaker 4 (32:24):
Dallas Cowboys?
Speaker 5 (32:25):
Joe, I've been thinking about it.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
A lout of basketball.
Speaker 11 (32:32):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (32:33):
She won last night?
Speaker 6 (32:34):
Big Well went on Friday, big.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
There was a lot of energy for a first four win.
But that's.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
First lot of energy for a first There was a
lot of folks out there hate Well.
Speaker 6 (32:43):
They was telling the truth.
Speaker 7 (32:45):
Hey can't hate on the seventy first team getting in
the city.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
I know this is we was troumble out, trumble first
fall out. So hey, but we looked at Merit looking married.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
That was nothing about Mary Mary A.
Speaker 6 (33:04):
D Is on the committee.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
It was Merrit babe. But he was not in those meetings.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
He was he was all I was not even commissioners.
That was all the other boy, they was eating dinner together.
Speaker 6 (33:14):
Vot the meeting. That's the right.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
People kind of tend to check take care of their boy.
They took care of their boy.
Speaker 4 (33:22):
The first time. This just happened anyway, Joe. The position group,
it's kind.
Speaker 5 (33:26):
It's gotta be be edge rusher, right. I mean you
got Michael Parsons on one edge, and you got a
guy who had ten sacks on the other who you
you know pretty well and can get after the.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Quarterback Peyton turn to got you got.
Speaker 5 (33:37):
You got a guy in Michael Parsons and william too,
and you got and you do have Sam Williams coming back.
Speaker 6 (33:42):
I offer knee injury.
Speaker 5 (33:44):
I think I think that Rusher is the best one.
But I'll be honest, that question kind of got me thinking,
like I had to think pretty d I was like,
maybe safety.
Speaker 7 (33:50):
Maybe that file in his fourtheam in four years.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
I know, but he can still get after the quarterback.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Yes, because so you got what position group?
Speaker 7 (34:00):
Uh specialist?
Speaker 2 (34:02):
He stole.
Speaker 15 (34:05):
Down turn good back then, and let's not even talk
about the kicker.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
He stole black boy was cold and boys cold. You
stole was good. He's perfect. It stole my specialist good.
Speaker 7 (34:22):
That might be the best, That might be the best
quartet in the National Football League.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
Special cat stole. Margaret said, you said group stole my group.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
I didn't think you guys will.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Be Hey man, you got about sixty years.
Speaker 5 (34:37):
So that was that was low hanging fruit. I wasn't
gonna go there. I tried to challenge myself because.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Because I was struggling, because you can say that I
don't think there's.
Speaker 7 (34:49):
Is a quarterback because he got one.
Speaker 6 (34:50):
No, you just got one quarterback. You can't say running back.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
You can't say receiver because it's still seeing a bunch
of maybes.
Speaker 6 (34:59):
You can't say tackle or guard. Could you have questions?
You know, defensive line?
Speaker 2 (35:05):
I mean I hear you what the edge Georgia because
you signed uh Dante Fowler, But you still have questions
behind them?
Speaker 8 (35:12):
Oh yeah, I know, I'm going like specifically, just yeah,
you said you still got questions behind the edges though,
I mean, you know there's still some unproven things, you know, Uh,
I would I was going to look at safety as well.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
I think they're solid, solid and safety. They know difference
makers of safety though, So you.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Don't feel good about any spot outside Specialists which means
this is not this is not a positive for the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
I mean, I guess I feel good about the safety now.
Speaker 7 (35:38):
Sport is fluid. We could change our opinion in a
month when the draft come in, they take this guy
in that case. Yeah, I see what you're doing that.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
Yeah, you put asking Jenny in front of the two
running backs. I like the running back group.
Speaker 5 (35:48):
You put technicmollan. I watched receiver, you know, like a
working receiver.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
In a month, and it could change them.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Okay, next in April could change Okay, but right now
this you have questions.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
Okay, fair enough, fair.
Speaker 7 (36:00):
And not nearly enough answers. Yeah, because problem about See
I heard this theory the other day. It's a completely
false theory. They throw a lot of bodies, They got
a lot of people. Some of these guys will hit,
you know, whether it's the linebacker what's his name, Kenneth
for Voklahoma, some of these guys will hit. No, that's
(36:21):
like flipping a coin a hundred times saying fifty should
come up here. No, it's not due. It's either everyone
is a fifty to fifty shot. So you don't have
to get any of these right now. You can hit
on all of them, that ain't gonna happen. But you
can not. You could not hit on all of them.
That's much more likely.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
The more questions you have, the more chances you ever
think's going wrong.
Speaker 7 (36:41):
Yeah, because and that's what I like, Like, what do
you what can you say? Yeah? That's it. We ain't
got to worry about that. Not a lot, bro And
I guess what is what is?
Speaker 6 (36:48):
Hit on me? You know?
Speaker 2 (36:50):
Because I think that they can play with the linebackers.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
Okay, yeah, you.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
Know, based on what they have on the roster, you
can play with the linebackers. I don't think anybody ever
thought Jack was all pro linebacker, and you know, but
he knows the system as a solid linebacker.
Speaker 6 (37:04):
And Murray Start has been on his third team.
Speaker 7 (37:06):
And we're talking here's the question, as best you can ask,
we're talking average or above average?
Speaker 6 (37:13):
How about what they could be average?
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Can you have Eric Kendrick's impact where he knew Zimmer's defense,
knew what to do, and he was able to come
in here and play.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
Can you get that level?
Speaker 14 (37:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (37:23):
And get that level? And that's that's the funny thing
about it, is that Eric kendricks impact. Yes, he knew
the defense, he was able to come in and play.
They still had one of the worst run defense in
the league.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
Because you up front, you're still not getting it done.
So yes, exact, the back don't work with out the front.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Yees, so I don't they still need to work. So
what kind of impact Eric Hendrick really have is my point?
He was a solid starter for a bad defense.
Speaker 5 (37:47):
Exactly, Yeah, solid starter, bad defense.
Speaker 7 (37:50):
Somebody got to store twenty points on the worst NBA
team and right.
Speaker 15 (37:54):
Yes, somebody's solid start on the back, you know, right,
somebody got to That's what I'm saying, you know, beware.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
Of at least go on a bad team. I said
this yesterday, you know. But but so, how big impact
that Kendricks really have is my other than him knowing
Zimbra's defense, It wasn't no difference making defense. He didn't
make no difference. He just the guy that knew what
the body was buried on the defense.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
Okay, hey, look that's that's fine. I hear you on that.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Why are we talking about, you know, or when you
got a bad defense, Why are we praising some guy there?
It's like the Tank Lawrence things I told people everybody, Well,
tank's going like, I'm sorry, there's a run stopper. How
much run were they stopping against good teams?
Speaker 2 (38:40):
So okay, right, and again he didn't play last year
much of the year when he did play, they didn't
stop nobody.
Speaker 4 (38:46):
No, you're correct, you are correct.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
And even the year before you get put out by
the Packerson playoffs and running up and down on the
field on you, and then the year before that same
old thing.
Speaker 4 (38:54):
So it's been a problem around here.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
Which that's where we go, all right, at number twelve,
do you really do you not go and try to
find somebody to put up there in the middle, And
even if you trade.
Speaker 7 (39:05):
That, not at number twelve, because what did you just say?
Can you go up there and try and find I
ain't trying to find nobody. Were taking the best guy there?
We didn't have him enough bust there.
Speaker 5 (39:15):
Yeah. I think they're also putting themselves a position where
they need to hit on this somewhat like. It can't
be a mess.
Speaker 7 (39:20):
It can't be the last two years.
Speaker 5 (39:22):
No, it needs to be someone who at least let's
see that.
Speaker 7 (39:24):
Let me ask you this question, do you like Will Johnson?
Speaker 5 (39:28):
Personally? I think the drop offs a little concerning I.
Speaker 7 (39:32):
Don't like him. I think, no, no, no, I know,
uh no, yeah, terrific aus of juniors, but I don't
like his toe thing. And you know I've been scarred
from corners with toes.
Speaker 6 (39:44):
Where are you talking about Dan?
Speaker 7 (39:45):
Well, he's part of it, but you know, I mean
that's the whole thing is built off of that.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
And if it's well, Will Johnson can have Dion's career
and didn't get his total amputated.
Speaker 7 (39:55):
The cowvin to take it well, Dean, I gots total
apputated later, not at the begin it yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Eight ninety nine, then he becomes nine. Told a take
it right. We don't want you don't want to come
ahead draft. But it's one thing I talked about earlier
is what I think that after taking a tackle, then
off of the tackle, then the defensive tackles, then off
of the tackle, and mister Jared Jones won't sizzle agreed
(40:26):
in a jo hum off season, when you don't really
have excitement surrounding the head coach, you haven't done a
lot of exciting things in free agency. You got to
sell something to the fan base. And I see a
skilled player being taken.
Speaker 4 (40:40):
With a twelve O fantasy football pick.
Speaker 5 (40:42):
Yeah, I call it.
Speaker 4 (40:43):
Yeah, somebody who can put on your fantasy football team.
Speaker 6 (40:45):
Yeah, that you can sell the fans get excited by it.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
You can't get excited about no devas the tackle or
no office of tackle or no guard.
Speaker 5 (40:53):
The problem is that they need an instant impact. EYI there,
and you can't mess right. But this is also a
draft where there isn't that at twelve. Normally there would
be that at twelve. I think you could have a
skill player go there, You could have that sizzle that's
right there. It seems more and more that ashing Gen
won't be there.
Speaker 2 (41:06):
Yeah, because if Ashton falls, they better run they It'd
be like cows on the clock.
Speaker 5 (41:15):
San Francisco's on the clock.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
No, no, San Francisco. It better be written down because
soon as he starts falling, and if he doesn't go
to the Bears, and he don't go to the Raiders,
then y'all but had a name written right there in
case San Francisco. And like I said, they guts, you
know they got a running back. They might not take it.
Speaker 4 (41:34):
San Francisco won't do it.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
Okay, then then the cow was if he gets if
he gets past the Bears. They better start writing the name,
and they better start getting Friscal High School and bringing up,
bringing up bring I mean, I mean Friscal School, bringing
bringing the homeboy home hometown.
Speaker 4 (41:51):
I think the Bears got taken. I don't care what
else they need.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
They just rebuilt off in some line in fregency.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
I'm sorry. You still need to you you've got that
kid there.
Speaker 6 (42:03):
You need to you need to add more than to me.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
It's the Raider of the Bears, of the Cowboys. If
the Raiders don't take him, and the Bears don't take him,
then just catch a falling start.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Okay, put it in your pocket, all right, gentlemen, it's fun.
Most trusted Clarence Hill, Joe Hoyd, he's running me. SEAQ Taylor,
the free lancer here on time.
Speaker 7 (42:24):
I'm not freelancer.
Speaker 4 (42:25):
I'm next.
Speaker 7 (42:25):
I'm a business owner.
Speaker 6 (42:27):
Exactly told you.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
He told you, I knew he scripted for Chris Bean,
Jazz Josh. Everybody makes it happen here. This is Dallas
