Speaker 1 (00:02):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
This is media match, a roundtable of Cowboys insiders, trumping
wisdom and offering sizzling takes on the current state of
your Dallas Cowboys. Now your host knew he scrugs.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Here we are on another media mash right here on
Dallas Cowboys dot Com. I'm your host. Three scrugs. Jointed
by Nick Harris of the Four Star Telegraph, the Hall
of Famer. He is Ed Werder.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
We've got Jean Jacques Taylor for Cowboy beatriter and the author.
As we dive into Cowboys Week, going over to Ed's place,
Ed's Ed's been in Colorado for years. Man covered to Broncos.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
You cover Elway? Right, Yeah, when he's first started, right.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
The first team I covered was the Broncos with Dan Reeves,
and the first major story was the acquisition of John Elway.
And then the second biggest story was why John and
Dan are not getting along and how Dan is standing
in the way of Elway becoming a great quarterback that
he's capable of being.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
And were you there when he drafted Tommy Maddox.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
No, I was I was here by then. That was
after nineteen I was a mistake. So yeah, that was
a mistake.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
That was because Tommy decided to come out after two years.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
That was a mistake because you had John Elway. John.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
I did cover the drive in Cleveland the day Elway
kind of lived up to it all.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Two yard line yep, yeah, one and.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
A half Keith Bishop, We got him right where we
want him. And then watching that drive still is amazing.
The execution a high level execution by Elway, and like
his skill players were not very good and yet he
made it all work and took that team to a
Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, I worked in Cleveland, ed, No, I was gonna
say that was at Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Dan that ain't have Yeah that different stories was the
next year worse or better?

Speaker 6 (01:51):
It was so the Biner fumble.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
The problem ed when I went to Cleveland in nineteen
ninety five, a after covering Jim these last season we
were working in Austin seeing know what they're saying is
is to go there and all these people's memories was
a tragedy, this bad thing. It's like, okay, red right
eighty eight when when Brian typed through the pick against
the Raiders and the game that we're gonna win, and

(02:15):
the Raiders go become the first team wild card team
win the super Bowl. The y Yeah, and then that
was the drive and then the fumble, these iconic glosses
and you Jordan hitting the shi was like all all
you guys have it's bad memories in this town.

Speaker 7 (02:31):
You ever been to a dog pound where those dogs
are having fun?

Speaker 2 (02:36):
I mean, this is the team move, this is the
new though.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
There's no telling with pounds.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
He's been there.

Speaker 7 (02:42):
Good golf courses I'm looking for, essentially on Saturday.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
I can't.

Speaker 8 (02:45):
I can't contend with your Hall of Fame price range,
but you got if you've got a good public course,
I might go out there.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
And I think I can help you with that. I
made a few recommendations to Joe Hoyt.

Speaker 7 (02:55):
As well, and okay, okay, well we see.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
I should play together if you will.

Speaker 7 (02:58):
Me and Joe talking about it, so you had.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
He's on and off the field.

Speaker 8 (03:02):
Me and Joe have known each other ten years, believe
it or not, which is crazy.

Speaker 7 (03:05):
We're half your life, really serious, half your life, damn near.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
He's born in two thousand.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Held his mom again, born in seventy three.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Yeah, man, Yes, I could give you some recommendations on
golf course to get back into good Ye.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
The Hall of Fame, red Worder.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
You can smoke at all of them.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
No cap well, a buck guy, fellow, a buck guy.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
You don't need to relax playing golf.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
You need to focus that less of the little buckeye
leaf guy here. Just go smoke, but don't don't do that.
You're a smarter man than that. Just focus, just a
friendly enjoy the moment.

Speaker 8 (03:48):
I'm trying to break one ten right now. I don't
need any outside influence.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Going to shoot one ten. I don't know if I
can send you anywhere.

Speaker 7 (03:54):
I know that quick story.

Speaker 8 (03:58):
We went golfing me Calvin Walker against Tart Archer and
Joe Hoayit during one off day in training camp, and
I told him going in, I was like, look, I
am bad.

Speaker 7 (04:05):
I am not good, and they're like, oh, we're all
bad too.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
I was.

Speaker 8 (04:08):
I was bad that the duchess Archer Archer was. Archer
was done with it. He was going a hole ahead
by the end of it.

Speaker 6 (04:14):
I was like, I told you, Archer, who hits a
three wood without a tee off? The deck exactly on
his drive shot drives exactly.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
So, Ed, I believe you were around the last time
the Cowboys beat Denver ninety five.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Yeah, that was you were too, John Elway and Troy Aikman, Yeah,
Mike Shanahan and the great Barry. Barry Switzer is the
last Cowboys coach to beat the Broncs.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Quite a duel.

Speaker 7 (04:39):
Was it ninety the last time it happened in Denver?

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (04:42):
That was so Super Bowl seasons both times.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
Yes, So you're saying there's a chance.

Speaker 6 (04:49):
This is an interesting game.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
I think it's the most fascinating game of the.

Speaker 7 (04:52):
Year so far.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Absolutely everything. Dallas is on offense, Denver is on defense.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Yes, and when that happens, take the defense, especially with
his every test.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
It's everything, right, He's playing a five hundred team, they're
on the road, they're on grass.

Speaker 6 (05:13):
All the things that.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
Dude attitude is gonna be in the noisy rockets crap,
they got the throwbacks rocking.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
I just I yeah, man, I I uh.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
I like what Dak said though. I like his approach
to the whole thing. He talked about twenty seventeen when
what they lost by they scored forty, Denver scored forty,
and Dallas scored seventeen.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
I was there that day.

Speaker 6 (05:33):
It was horrible, delayed by lightning.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Remember Simeon was the quarterback then Zeke.

Speaker 6 (05:37):
Got crushed and I'm not sure gave a yard in
the game.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
It Dez ended up having a But it was interesting.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
It was interesting listening dak To talk about how different
he is as a quarterback now from that point, Like
everything he does now is different than what he did then,
Like he's so much more advanced in his career as
you would expect in your three versus.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Your texts and Santa Arrest of Santa rest of it.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
He said they got to be prepared to win a
grimy game.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
He said he wasn't getting coached.

Speaker 6 (06:05):
Oh, that part of it.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
He said he didn't want to say he's not getting coached,
which means I know I'm saying that I wasn't getting coached.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
Look at it now, No coaching makes a difference, man.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
He said they didn't coach matter the rookie.

Speaker 6 (06:15):
And he said he took some ownership of that.

Speaker 8 (06:17):
He did offer some interesting insight into what a sophomore
slump could actually what I actually could go into that
because you think about c. J. Stroud, Jane Daniels and
they had a great second year. You think about a
lot of quarterbacks his young second years for sure, and
he was like, it was kind of a situation where
I came in and I was so good in my
rookie year that they were like, hey, let's not touch it.
And so he didn't work on the details. He didn't
get the details coach to him. And he wasn't blaming

(06:39):
anybody with that. He made sure to say that, but
that was just the fact of the matter.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
He said, he wasn't doing his own offseason training like
he is now.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
But I put that on the coaches because they're the
ones that should know, Hey, look, this is what you
I go back to Vince Young and Mike Heimerdinger when
when he was with the Titans, it was after the
rookie year hybrid like, you got to come back basically
so we can give you the playbook, me the playbook. Yes,
you want a playoff game. You were a rookie of
the Year, But there's a whole lot here that you
don't know, and they're going to catch up with you.

(07:09):
They're going to figure you out and So when Dak
Prescott says that, that's when I go back to the
coaching staff. I don't remember who the coaches were, but
that's on them, you know what I mean. He's the
guy was a quarterback.

Speaker 7 (07:21):
He works for you.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
He's a quarterback.

Speaker 6 (07:25):
With you.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
We worked for the same company.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
But that's on the quarterback, especially considering he played with
a dude who was really really good.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Very cerebral guy. He played for a bunch of guys
who were quarterbacks. Wade Wilson was a quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Coach, Charlie Wade. God bless him. You told he was.
He was a good tea.

Speaker 6 (07:41):
Kellen Moore was a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Yeah, so it was. But when he said it, and
that's what thought about. Wow, Okay, but.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
You know when you talk about Akman, that was his
big thing. Yeah, North was good, but North was also
demanding and coaching as opposed to David Shutle.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
But the thing that I marvel at as we go
through Dak's career and you know, now he's, you know,
reaching all these franchise milestones. When he came out, did
anybody really think this guy was going to evolve into
a passer who could break Tony Romo and Troy Aikman's
single season passing records or franchise career passing records.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
I mean I certainly didn't.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
One person did and and called it.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
Who did?

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Drew Pearson we were doing the show, we were doing
a Sunday night show in Channel five, and she was like,
you know what, they need to go get a quarter
They need a guy.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
They need a guy like Dak Prescott. I like Dak Prescott.
I know something about quarterbacks.

Speaker 6 (08:34):
Okay, because he was a quarterback before he was a receiver.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Correct and played with Rogers, so, but he he was
on and I've always had him. Dude, you saw what
I didn't see. I thought he was a really nice
player a Missippi State thought he was a hell of
a gamer. But I mean, Drew was all about Dak
Prescott when happened. He's like CCC SO but.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
He was a dual threat guy. That was That was
what made him unique career, right. I remember coming out
of the first mini camp Wade Wilson. Wade Wilson said
to me that they put him under center and he
did not know how to handle it.

Speaker 6 (09:07):
Quin He's a shotgun quarterback. But he told Wade Wilson.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
He said, you teach me in this mini camp, and
when I come back here in six weeks for the
next mini camp, you'll never know I did anything but
play under center exactly.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
And that's what happened. And that speaks to the dude's work,
ethic and commitment and all the other things which is
showing up now is he's in year two and.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
John Grutonohn, I'll gi him to John Grewt when he
was doing the quarterback side thing and they put that on.
I've seen on social media recently. John Gruton was, he
was on it. He was about him.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Man, he liked him.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
He liked him, and you know, give the player the
credit to he. Pat Ryoys does a great line. You
have to be active participant in your own rescue. He's
put in that work to be what he is now.
And the one thing I will say that I truly
hope Jerry does is keep a guy like George Pikets
because you see what can happen when he's got some

(09:56):
talent around him.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
And Javonte Williams and on their last year of their contracts.

Speaker 6 (10:02):
You know, well now that you have money since the
thirty one million dollars the Patriots have more play of
the year. Uh play the Oh the guy who.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Was just a defensive Player of the week with the
first three sack game of his career.

Speaker 6 (10:14):
That guy, that guy.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
They don't need that guy.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
Why why can't they play like defense like that here?

Speaker 5 (10:19):
I mean that team struggled to beat Arizona last week.

Speaker 9 (10:21):
Man.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
Well yeah, well this team lost Arizona last year. Let's
see if they struggled to beat Arizona in two weeks.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
This team could beat the Carolina Panthers. This team is
beating the Carolina Panthers, the New York Jets, and the
New York Giants.

Speaker 6 (10:32):
And they lost to Carolina.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
They lost Washington, Man, say yeah, lost lost to Carolina.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Washington with their quarterback for half the game and no receivers.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
I'm just telling you what the fan base is said.
That's what the fan base said.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
But you smarter than the fan base. That's why we
bring you here.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
I just like to throw the fan base out there
every now and then and let people.

Speaker 6 (10:48):
Know that you're listening to them.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
I'm a man of the people.

Speaker 7 (10:51):
Man, he's a rage ball stop it.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
He's what that's what.

Speaker 7 (10:57):
He's a rage bater.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
Oh yeah, that was close. She said that I don't
even know what I'm scared to ask. I.

Speaker 6 (11:06):

Cowboys going up to Denver to face the five and
two Broncos, and they haven't won there since ninety two.
I haven't beaten them since ninety five. Javonte Williams was
once a Denver Bronco drafted by the team. Champagne decided
he did not want Javonte, So yesterday ed.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
Y'all tried to get it. Y'all tried to send him
a bucket up.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
I tried to walk him down into the deep.

Speaker 7 (14:22):
Sure, I said, you tried to rage bait, rage bait.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
No.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
I just tried to walk into the deep. I tried
to get the code read out of him. Did they
need to buckle up facing your old team this week?
And he just looked at me and laughed.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
Did they disrespect you?

Speaker 6 (14:38):
That is the correct answer that he gave you.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Then I tried again. He looked and laughed, and then
he got done with the press conference. He looked at
me and he pulled it and he laughed, and I
was like, you know, there's there's a reason why that
man was a class valedictory.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
You know, as Parcels would have said, Oh, you're that guy.
You're the sound bite guy.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Rick Move, Rick Rinter.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
That quote was to Rick Rinner, you're the sound Bye guy,
I see now you're the sound bite.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
You don't want to learn anything, you don't want to
talk about football, You just want to get a good sound.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
Bite at him.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
And nobody gave better sound bites than Bill.

Speaker 7 (15:09):
That's me to nobody.

Speaker 5 (15:11):
To something that has put.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
As a coach here as a coach.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
I put this out on Twitter yesterday because I heard
Shoddy and I kind of like Shoddy's answers. He seems
to give thoughtful so, who's your top three or top
four in the podium and since since Jimmy, since after Jimmy,
as far as coaches.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Like Parcels parcel Yeah, it's it's Parcels. I mean, par
Parcels was so good. There were times we didn't go
to the room to get guys.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
And now that was part of his philosophy. Yes, yes,
because he would talk for thirty minutes. Nick, Yeah, no, No,
he was awesome, not none of his fifteen minute stuff.

Speaker 7 (15:46):
He was he shoty goes a long time.

Speaker 5 (15:47):
Well he talked. He wants you to talk because longer
I talked, unless you are in my locker room.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Now so so, and then I would have to go Shody.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
See I had Shoddy too. Who've you got to Verry?

Speaker 6 (15:57):
Else? Could it be Berry?

Speaker 2 (15:59):
I just ask him, No, he said, he said, after.

Speaker 6 (16:02):
After Jimmy, Oh oh, Switzerland.

Speaker 7 (16:04):
For sure, Barry's got to be in the I.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
Had switcher third.

Speaker 6 (16:07):
In terms of what.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
Entertainment like, You're not gonna learn a lot of football
from Barry. Who whatever you entertainment, Barry is gonna rank
pretty high.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Story Time with Barry was good. Storytime with Barry was good.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
I did like some learning football from Bill was a
unique experience quarterback. But you got to lose by playing Romo.
What do you got to lose? You got the quarterback
to lose if he's not ready to play.

Speaker 6 (16:32):
Pretty good answer.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
You know how many teams should take key to that
around the league.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Or when Bill would tell us, uh, we're in the
replacement business.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
One day, I'm going to be replaced. And then he
looks out at us and don't.

Speaker 6 (16:43):
Think that you're not get He was right about that. Ye.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
Yes, And then we talked about you you don't want
to lead a huddle because you don't know who's coming.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
He had just there's no one better.

Speaker 8 (16:53):
He had one that you guys will probably remember better
than I would. It was talking about guys that were
inactive on game day and he called him.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
E r W's baby warm up.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
The cold was you didn't know until you went to
the locker room. No jersey today. And as the time
he cussed out of Julius Jones was tapping out.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Yeah, this week will be the salute the service gear
for the E. R W's because stuff.

Speaker 6 (17:19):
Good looking out for what I'm saying. If this you
know between you're gonna be in active this is the week.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Between Mingo and Flinois. Somebody's gonna be grabbing.

Speaker 6 (17:28):
Might for which out they might even his name on
the smith.

Speaker 5 (17:32):
Actually smitty Smitty. First, I do have a question. I
don't want to take over there, no go ahead's here.
Who do you want in the matchup? Let's go around
the table. Who do you want? You want Pickings and
cd Oh, you're going with certain and Riley? Who wins

(17:53):
the matchup?

Speaker 6 (17:53):
The pass rush?

Speaker 5 (17:55):
That's that was not the question. I just asked you.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
That's what's going to decide to because that's the great
one sitting back to work right out the front.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
The pass rush is gonna win the game. If they
can't block those guys.

Speaker 6 (18:05):
It's over.

Speaker 7 (18:05):
Yeah, they would be a wrap.

Speaker 6 (18:08):
Good question, fair question. I'll take.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
I think they have two exceptional receivers and the Broncos
have one phenomenal corn.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
I'm taking the defense.

Speaker 8 (18:17):
Let's say that the offensive line can hold it up
and it's truly that matchup.

Speaker 7 (18:20):
I'm taking the receivers.

Speaker 6 (18:22):
The receivers in the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Now, who's who he thinks Tirtan is traveling with Pickens?

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Is who I'd go.

Speaker 6 (18:27):
I would go with the other guy's getting doubled double CD.

Speaker 5 (18:31):
So the old Dion Sanders, old Alvin Harper, Michael Michael everything.
We'll use their tan to take out.

Speaker 6 (18:37):
The two, and we'll use two guys to take out
the one.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
So he was talking to Barry Church and Anthony Yor
said about it, and they just said, you'd want to
go with Pickens because CD operate in the slot and
if you've got Certain, you don't want to get Certain
to get caught up in traffic and different things. He's like,
so just have him go to Pickens, use two other guys,
and then deal with.

Speaker 6 (18:57):
What Pickens players can play.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
The slot showed that last week.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
He did show that.

Speaker 6 (19:02):
But and this might be a game where that has
some value.

Speaker 8 (19:06):
This is gonna be a week where you need the
other guys to step up. You need the Cavante Turpens,
you need Ryan flnois that Jake Ferguson.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Jonathan Mingo, No, you need Ferguson.

Speaker 7 (19:15):
He might be in that slut of service jacket too.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
That's gonna be the choice this week. You know who
gets the salute the service you.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
Jalenby.

Speaker 7 (19:25):
He gives you a holding penalty every game too.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Nick is really Nick is unabashed now sorry, he used
to try to hide it under the veil of Hey.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
He could be value to one. He's that's his Devin Street.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
You know what I am.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
I think those guys are all more into Those guys
are all more into the flow than Mingo.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
Mingo can't show.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
Dingo's never played a game with Dak. Yet a year later,
he still doesn't play the game with Dak.

Speaker 5 (19:51):
He's not gonna make his debut in this game.

Speaker 7 (19:53):
Probably not.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Rocky Mount High could be that time.

Speaker 9 (19:55):
Man.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
You know Colorado?

Speaker 5 (19:57):
So do we think they can block them? Or is
the quarterback going to get rid of the bull?

Speaker 6 (20:04):
You know when we come back, It's gotta be all
that we come back.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
I'm taking no, no, no.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
I love this.

Speaker 3 (20:09):

lineman who I wonder if he plays this week, how

I didn't know if that was a younger Cat Stevens is.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Yeah, I do too, that you know. I didn't know
if there was a younger artist that Nick may may

Speaker 6 (22:56):
Are they playing the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (22:57):
You jillyroll In?

Speaker 7 (22:58):
I know who he is?

Speaker 5 (22:59):
Yeah, hey, hey.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
You should be twice a performer. It is now he
lost two hundred pounds.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Leave the American bad Bunny alone.

Speaker 8 (23:07):
It's all good, the American bad Bunny, right, baby, that's right.
That's what they're calling Terry Rose here these days. Wow,
that's a crazy story, man, I can't wait for the
documentary on.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
That reed daff and David's they're very entertaining. As long
as your name ain't.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Any exactly, Yeah, to quote run our tests.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
After the Mouse in the Palace, I think you're gonna
be in trouble due that's that is one of the
great lines I've ever heard. Unaware it's half the Mouse
of the Palace and their pistons and pacers are fighting,
and Ron our test goes back and the lock.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
You look at Stephen, y'all think we're gonna.

Speaker 6 (23:46):
Get in trouble.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
That's up there with Nick wondering what you say.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
It's Stephen Jacket.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
Yes, some of us will not be eligible and will
not be Ron didn't the.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
Okay, Now we can't stay on this forever because we
gotta talk about this office line. Okay, But why is
Gilbert Arenas just climbing force?

Speaker 3 (24:14):
I remember Gilbert Arenas is a young high school hot
shot product in LA Area who ended up going down
to Arizona and easy boy, he didn't change.

Speaker 6 (24:22):
Man.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
It's wild these kids that I like covered Matt Barnes
when he was You see, you never thought Matt Barnes
be what he is today.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Man, It's just you want Nick.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
You wait, all these young high schools you covered, they
become adults.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
In the night.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
You're like, Wow, a little different dude with money and
fame will change some folks.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Man, pretty interested.

Speaker 7 (24:41):
I've seen him a few times.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Nick Harris at murder won't change. Nick Taylor, I'm.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Scruggs gets the other day, so David hell so, Yeah,
I told you wouldn't change it.

Speaker 6 (24:52):
He already got all that.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Of course it's a long.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
Store because I investigated it's a long store, start start,
I wouldn't mind.

Speaker 7 (25:02):
I wish it was mine.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
Wasn't mind, like, wasn't me?

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Hey man, you know that makes it even better. It's
not yours. That's even better story. That's an even better
story that it's not you. That just shows you Mac.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
This girl roll it up.

Speaker 7 (25:20):
She wishes, she wishes.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
So Cooper bebuh the locker room spoke to me yesterday
and he said, you know, definitely you'll play next week,
hoping to play this week.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
And I wonder.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Just because you've listened to a couple of players now
who kind of held themselves out a week and play.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Oh, I could have played last week, but then they waited.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Do you wait if you're the Cowboys considering this team
number one in.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
Sacks, well, are the trainers going to clear him and
say he's good to go?

Speaker 6 (25:49):
Then I'm going to play him.

Speaker 8 (25:49):
I'm not worried about brock Coffin in past protection. I'm
worried about brock Hoffman and run block.

Speaker 7 (25:53):
That's that's that's where my.

Speaker 6 (25:55):
How about an id in front rushers.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
I don't.

Speaker 7 (25:58):
I don't have a ton of issues with that one.
Dak Scot's a quarterback. They also have.

Speaker 8 (26:01):
Dak was speaking today about how Javonte Williams has been
able to help out in that category two. So they
have two really knowledgeable guys in that backfield and they
have a lot of trust in broad.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
I think back to the Carolina game. You know, those
guys got it, they got beat up and the product,
Yeah they did. Brock was one of them. He did,
And that's why I think about Cooper bbe a bigger
guy with this kind of pass rush out here. If
he can go, do you let him go?

Speaker 2 (26:21):
See?

Speaker 3 (26:21):
He was like, oh, I could have played last Weekmingos,
I could have played last week.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Some of these guys, you know, but they waited a
week here do you want to wait?

Speaker 3 (26:27):
I mean, you've got Arizona next week, which you've got
to win the Arizona game.

Speaker 6 (26:31):
But you're three three and one. What are you waiting for.
You're in the easy part of your schedule. You better
start winning some.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Games, which is what I said right here. I said
on the last show the players. I was like, you're
you're it's not early in the year. Anymore. This is
the last game in October, November is here. It's crazy.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
So I just think, if I'm with it, you just
go through the protocol. If you can play, then you play.
It's not a matter of weight, it's are you healthy
enough to play? If dance is just and strap it
up and go. They have a seventeen of these.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
But that was just his that was just his answer
was like, you know what, hey, I will Uh you
might not know yet.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
Yeah, And that's that's kind of what the coaches were saying.
Today is kind of an end of the week thing.
See where you are at the.

Speaker 6 (27:08):
End of the week.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
He's hopeful, But I I just think that it would
add massive value if if BB could play.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
I would not be holding out any front line starting
player who's healthy enough to play in the game.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Yeah, this is not going to be easy.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
If they win this game, it'll be by far their
biggest win of the year.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
Yeah mm hm.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
To me, it's it's like, I don't believe they're a
playoff team. This kind of game, A playoff team would
figure out a way to win.

Speaker 6 (27:34):
Well.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
And you know what else, if if you win this
game and then you win the Cardinals, maybe Jerry does
go get some defensive help at five three and one.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
And then you got the Raiders after the Cardinals, so
maybe you can get the six three and one shot.
He's talked about trying to stack together wins and getting.

Speaker 6 (27:48):
Haven't done that yet.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
Lets go say since they haven't done it, that's a
good thing to do.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
And so yes, I mean, there's there's there's This could
be a very positive thing for the Cowboys.

Speaker 6 (27:57):
They can figure out a pivotal game for them, I think.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
And because when you look at the wins we're talking
about last year, look at the wins. You beat two
New York teams, and you beat a Washington team that's
got a losing record right now and they.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
Didn't want to right so so you ain't beating nobody yet.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (28:12):
Yeah, you like these You go put forty on the
board against this defense, then people are gonna look at
you differently.

Speaker 8 (28:20):
You know, every team that they have beaten talking about
the New York Giants, New York Jets, and Washington commanders
of starting quarterback in each of those three games will
most likely not be the starting quarterback for those teams
this week. I mean it's like Luis Wilson's like losing
Justin Fields and Jayden Daniels.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
All the black guys.

Speaker 7 (28:37):
Now, who's rage Bayden?

Speaker 3 (28:41):
This is so it's you know, parcels always eat your record,
is what you say it is. But I'm just kind
of looking at the record right now. It's just like, man,
it's it's.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
We've seen this this song before. A couple of years ago.
They beat all the raggedy Rudy pooh teams to death
and then got drilled when it mattered most. Any time
they played a good team, they got beat.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Couldn't beat the Dolphins with angels, the DC, couldn't beat
Buffalos like that was the thing that they had a
hard time.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
I guess you know those the good teams.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
They say they're a tough, physical team that they they'll
play anybody anywhere, and they can win any place they play. Okay,
show us, yep, here's your chance, here's your first chance
to do exactly that.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
They kind of need that, all right. We got Thursday
night football here Minnesota at LA.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Ed what you got.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
I'll take the team with a better quarterback and that's
Justin Herbert too bad offensive lines.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Alt may come back.

Speaker 5 (29:32):
Who's playing quarterback for Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
Your boy went.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
Carson, Carson wins. They don't have a good quarterback option.

Speaker 5 (29:39):
Wow, they've had a couple of men a building.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
Like, it's not gonna get better when they get healthy
that quarterback then they got any experience.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Oh don't you tell Gary Myers.

Speaker 5 (29:47):
That you can't tell Gary Myers anything anytime?

Speaker 3 (29:50):
And okay, I forgot that's that you So who you
went picking up for the game today?

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Sir?

Speaker 5 (29:55):
It's two bad teams, one bad quarterback, win over rated quarterback,
and one terror coach.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
They both played the pick.

Speaker 6 (30:02):
A tack, one terrible coach. Who's that?

Speaker 5 (30:04):
Oh hardboss sucks?

Speaker 6 (30:06):
Really?

Speaker 2 (30:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (30:07):
Oh really? Your prejudice has been pretty much.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Guy's been to the Super Bowl?

Speaker 5 (30:12):
Stop what's he done lately?

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Stop it?

Speaker 5 (30:14):
He went to the playoffs last year, I said lately lately?
He lost this week and he had him in the
raggedy yellow uniforms. Give he give me San Diego or what.

Speaker 6 (30:24):
Are they not not in San Diego? Rean Diego a
man who talks about the importance of recents. He still
has his franchise where they were five years ago.

Speaker 5 (30:32):
They can always be San Diego to me and John
Hadel is always going to be the quarterback rocking twenty
one bitter young, Nick, give me the charges man.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Everybody's charging under charge is twenty four to twenty one.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
Okay, it's always a good game on Thursday night.

Speaker 7 (30:47):
We've had some good ones this year.

Speaker 6 (30:48):
Sure, I think the underdog has won? What for the
last six on Thursday.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
It's been It's been something Cincinnati one last week with
good old Joe Flacco in the how about forty man
year old Bowl game?

Speaker 5 (31:00):
So yeah, Icy Hot Bowl? That was one of good nicknames.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
There you go, the Icy Hot Bowl. Yeah it was.
It was that in Cleveland. Keep Cleveland a little credit.

Speaker 6 (31:08):
That Aaron Rodgers against the Packers this week?

Speaker 2 (31:10):
Oh yeah, I should be fun.

Speaker 5 (31:13):
Where's that game at Pittsburgh? Sadly he'd be better than Lambeau.
Hanground Pittsburgh?

Speaker 2 (31:18):
How about that? Huh yeah? Be something something to see,
all right, Nick? Thank you? Ed warder J J. T.
The happiest man on Earth held to the victors.

Speaker 5 (31:30):
I'm new scus later that was unnecessary.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
We wouldn't.
