Surgers.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
The cancer's all gone. Shout out to her, to us
even better.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Yeah, so I see her tomorrow, have a lot of tears,
and then have a nice night and get to get
to honor my folks because I always say these things.
I said, these things, say my name, but it's really you.
I said, you honor me, you honor them. So that'll be.
That'll be very cool.

Speaker 6 (01:39):

Speaker 5 (01:45):
Yeah, you know, they'll let me that he got a

put out.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
They let me know.

Speaker 5 (01:49):

And then I was speeches right in there.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
It's in there. You just say thank you. He's got writers.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Don't worry.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Then it come out. You just say thank you.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
So so tomorrow it's just ironic. It worked out great.
Get to go to North Carolina tomorrow and then fly
on out to Charlotte on Sunday and catch the.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Game, right some real bow Jangles back not the stuff
we got in DVD.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
In fact, Charlotte Airport the truest thing ternal c C
is where I was getting right in between, like yeah, yeah,
because the perfect franchise owner is in Dallas, Clarienson in
corporate Owners. Clarence and I were at the original original
but the opening they had and yeah bo Jangles, And

(02:36):
we looked at the menu and Brian Astridge was there too.
It is extra from North Caroline. Where's where's so ed
they back home? The Bojangles has bone in chicken.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
They don't do it.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
They're here, they're just doing chicken tenders. So this whole
push and this is my my mindset. I'm thinking they're
trying to compete.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
With Canes and and and and.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Trying to do the chicken tenders. And I'm like, you know.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
What you should do bow Jangles, right, Kane?

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Yeah, Okay.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
The people are like chicken fingers and knees, cowboys sponsor.
They've created a tremendousness for themselves there you go, Okay,
why are we trying to be?

Speaker 8 (03:09):
Go?

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Be you?

Speaker 9 (03:10):
You man?

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Can you tell me you come into town, I expect
you to be you or go beat Popeyes?

Speaker 5 (03:14):
No, be you be bow Jangs.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
When In and Out came here, they came and they
were themselves. When Whataburger went up North, they were themselves.
Don't come here change it.

Speaker 7 (03:25):
Me if I shout outs of the actual sponsor Waterburger, right,
try it, keep it around, and we're trying to.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Stick around working it were one, so I made sure
I added the other.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
But at the end of the day, do you that's all?

Speaker 9 (03:36):
Do you?

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Imitation is the worst form of flattery.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
There you go back to believe.

Speaker 6 (03:41):
This whole conversation started about you going into the Hall
of Fame, and now we're talking about chicken fingers.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Well, actually, because when I go home, I do I do?

Speaker 9 (03:46):
Go?

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Nick?

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Is correct you? When you go home?

Speaker 1 (03:49):
I do? I do?

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Yes, I get I go to bow Jangles, I go
to Cookout.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Those are two of my little North Carolina spots that
I can't really get here.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
So so yes, yes, food is a very big part.
I go to Capitol Grill, both places.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
I don't have that kind of money.

Speaker 7 (04:02):
We'll maybe you will after the next you will after
the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
You know.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Yeah, French report, what are you talking about?

Speaker 4 (04:11):
And I'm going to Pembroke, North Carolina and Fabe North.
There's no capital grills. Get that out back. It is
a line, yeah, straight, Seriously, it's a line.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
I believe that it's a line.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
It's a line. You want to get.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Someplace big as five stuff, some places three stuff.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Well, Bayville, get a line. Baby going the wrong day? Baby,
it's out there on the borders all that time. What
it's that kind of town? Change town.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Ric O'Donnell doubled down. He doubled down.

Speaker 7 (04:43):
Jack said today though, and we glanced at each other
when Dak said, He's like, no, it's not Baltimo bore material,
and and that specific reporter, specific reporter asked him, He's like,
does boaltim board material even exists for you?

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Guys? Like no, zero means nothing. Zero So he's lying.
So he's lying now.

Speaker 6 (05:00):
I feel like it wasn't even aware. We had an argument.

Speaker 7 (05:02):
Yesterday about whether the cowboys actually think this is like
bulletin board material or not.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
I don't really think it is. These two are on the.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
It's not Eric Dickerson calling you out exactly. It's Rico Dowdle,
which is you gotta get motivated by Rico Dowdle.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Then you have bigger problems. That's the problem.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
It's like you not you know you, He's not who
just got a ring?

Speaker 6 (05:25):
He say anything about playing the Giants tonight?

Speaker 1 (05:27):
I don't think so.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
Emmitt Smith was the all time leading RUSSID. Nobody respects me,
nobody thinks I can play. Everybody thinks I'm old. Nobody
ever thought I'm too slow and me and by that
time he's already all the time leading Russian. Okay, so
it don't mean here's that has something.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Here's what we'll do, okay.

Speaker 6 (05:42):
Nick, Oh, I feel a prediction coming on already.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
No, this is a simple just just I will buy
okay bow Jangles.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
If the Cowboys win the game, we're both gonna be
in the locker room. We are they are going and
they say, yeah, we heard it. No, if they say
something by bucket up right right, we're just saying.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Okay, if they address it, if they address it, well
there go.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
If they address it. If they address it, you know that.

Speaker 6 (06:13):
Isn't it interesting that Shoddy and his first press conference
of the week, went out of his way to bring
it up.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Yes, yes, so so if they don't address it, all right,
I'm buying you up.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
I'm buying.

Speaker 7 (06:22):
Okay, it can't be clear. It's going like so did
y'all buckle up? They can't be one of those, and
they can be one of those natural say we are going.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
To be a part of it. The natural would be.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
So, what did you think about Rico's performance today? See
that's a fair question.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Okay, Okay, you go ahead.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Whatever he had thoughts, was it bulletin boar material? That's
a legitimate thing too. Yeah, okay, So so if it's
if it's, if it's afterwards, you know, so there you go.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Okay. So if it's if.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
They don't say anything, I'm buying you chicken. Okay, there
you there, you go.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
The O. J. Simpson of the South.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Wow, because it's dice chicken, sliced chicken.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
I didn't mean that.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
I'm talking about the man skills on a football field
and age and.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
These my kids don't hear something else. Let's bring up
Red Grange.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
My kids don't know him for that, and he's get
on the court.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
Mine was like he used to play football.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
I expected your kids would be fully informed.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
About the naked gun movies.

Speaker 6 (07:30):
Nobody remember either about hurts commercials.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
No they definitely don't remember or spot built. I mean,
you know, yeah, okay, so yeah try out. Everyone does
so so Dak says, I don't know anything about it.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
But Jake Ferguson was.

Speaker 6 (07:46):
We He said he didn't know anything about it, but
he said, well, we're gonna buckle up because we're getting
on a plane.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
So he did know about it.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
That's because he'd be in a quarterback right then yesterday.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
So when Nick and I were talking Solomon Thomas, I
asked Solomon, Solomon kind of because a little hesitation, was
looking down, telling little hesitation.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Then he went to it.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Then we talked to osa Osa Kana when when Calvin
I asked the first questions, played it and then Calvin said,
you know, well you have an understanding how it feels.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
He was here right.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
That was the kind of pause for a second. Then
gave his thing, they know, they know, they know. Head
coach already said they know they had two hundred yards
last week.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
And he's and double down. He to double down.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
That was stand on business. But all he needed to
say was two things. I am him and they got
to come see it. That's all he needed. That's all
you need to do. If we were Vince McMahon and
we were running SmackDown or Raw.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
You would be.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Playing that thing over and over. Just whates cocaine. It
just come out reco to mic.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
I mean, what should all sad rego? Thank you cud.
This has made the game interesting.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
This, this is now.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
It's not as good as Jimmy Johnson say, and we
will win the game.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Put in three ind lines, putting.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Three more headlines that good. Not that good, but Rico for.

Speaker 6 (09:06):
A championship game, not some game between middling two teams
that don't have winning record between.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Them two teams. Yeah, Cowboys got two zero bud on
the field.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
But but this is good, this is good, and that
Chewba Hubbard said, I feel good.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
She was in two hundred yards Cowboys, runde feel good.

Speaker 6 (09:27):
But if you say that and you don't even play,
they didn't.

Speaker 7 (09:31):
A second practice report did just come out and uh
with uh Chuba Hubbard did not practice again. A Rico
game sounds like another Rico game. Why not, right, let's
let's get healthy.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
But God comes see him.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
They've got to come to And then he said, he said,
they know who's the other one, right that they know.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
They know what's up? They know?

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Nick? Nick?

Speaker 5 (09:55):
Nick, I tell you, I'm.

Speaker 7 (09:58):
Not saying it's not from Rico's perspective. I'm not saying
that it's not like you know this. He just dropped
no vasilin on him and the other side could care less.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
It has no clue with it.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
I just I just glad. I just said. O. J. Simpson,
what you just said?

Speaker 3 (10:13):
It's an old ice Cube song and it was the
Battle with ice Cube, responded to his former bandmates at
n w.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
WA's Huge, Huge Song, Game Huge song.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Yes, yes, so that this.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Is gonna be good.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
What are you trying to get Nick to say?

Speaker 6 (10:28):
Because you spent fifteen minutes failing at it.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
I know, I know, and this is good. But that's
why we have a bet.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Now, that's when we have a bet, because Nick doesn't
believe it's bullets and boar machu.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
He doesn't think it's that I do.

Speaker 7 (10:38):
The last time I'd made a bet on these airwaves,
I had to eat really hot hot sauce from Isaiah
stand back and.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
We're right on air.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Yeah, we're not going to do that to each other. No,
we're not gonna do that. No, we'll just get some Yeah, it.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
Is kind of amazing though, speaking of Rico Daubtle as
the only guy we've really spoken about that he would
have the greatest day of his pro career on the
same Sunday that his replacement here would do the same thing.
They both had career high their career high rushing totals,
They both had their longest runs of their careers. They

(11:09):
both played integral roles in their team's winning so yes.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Which also, when I think about the Carolina offense, Tet
McMillan Tterroy McMillan from Arizona, who they surprisingly drafted in
the first round kind of like what they did to
jac Horn a couple of years ago when they surprisingly
took him and the Cowboys looking at both players. This
got of both players heavily and people thought they there
was a chance they could get there. If you're bryce young,

(11:34):
you find tat McMillan against his pass defense was still
ranked number thirty two in the league. So there's while
we're talking Rico, I mean, Tet McMillan could come out
here with his size and have a nice day.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
And he's the reason Tyler Booker and George Pickens are here.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Yeah, that's a very very good point.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Very much. So he's a good player. He's a really
good football player.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Yeah. And the catch radius, my goodness.

Speaker 7 (11:53):
I mean Bryce Seong just has to put it in
his zip code and he's going to go up and
bring it down. He's been the key cog to their
passing offense. Xavier Laguette starting to kind of turn a corner. Man,
if they can get all these weapons of balla mingo.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
If only, if only right.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
It's dirty word forgot all about him. Oh yeah, he
is from Carolina. Nobody's talking.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
He ain't telding himbout the bucklep.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
He might not strap up. Man, ain't gonna strap up
right there.

Speaker 7 (12:25):
But I'll have a roster spot for him after Ryan
Flinoy's game last week. Man, it's gonna be tough to
figure out how to get him on.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Is exactly. See, I'm getting Jock on the wave now.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Man let team in touchdowns last year.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Man exactly. Ricodelt will let him in rushing.

Speaker 7 (12:43):
He's not here and you wish you could have got
something for him, right, but now he's making people buckle up.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
See what what what that just means Jalen's gonna go
somewhere and bust it for for two hundred yards and play.

Speaker 7 (12:56):
It's gonna be great when you have a fifth round
pick in exchange or whatever it be, or linebacker, a
starting quality linebacker in exchange.

Speaker 6 (13:02):
Well, you make him sound so unimportant compared to the
way Shotenheimer described.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Yeah, his value is not gonna get any higher, and
you're gonna let him walk in the off season. You're
not bringing back Jalen Tolbert.

Speaker 7 (13:11):
You didn't invest a fourth round picking Jonathan Mingo to
bring back Jalen Tolbert. Ryan Flinoy starting to emerge. I
just think this is a good time and so then
hopefully a team with a starting caliber linebacker. I mean,
you can sell the seven touchdowns, you can sell the
almost seven hundred yards last year, and being like, look,
he can be a productive wide receiver too.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
You can sell that. You can sell that we have
a great salesman upstairs that that we all know very well.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Number two. Wow.

Speaker 6 (13:37):
And it seems like he gets sold on players more
rough than any sell.

Speaker 7 (13:41):
That's very fair, Okay, But I would be getting on
the phones trying to find a linebacker, even if it's
just a Shamar James level linebacker. I don't need a
I don't need you know, Levante David, I don't need I.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Don't need Derek Brooks.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
I'm not even going that far. I don't need any
I don't need any of that. Just just give Robert
Joe ain't coming back here, man, no, no, Kenny Norton. Okay,
all right, Look, I get it, I get it, I
get all right. Let's get our first break in here,
another game without caban Te Turpert. Let's talk special teams

looking at the practice report there, what's the latest on
Tyler Guiden's.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Yesterday's let's double check. I believe so because I was
looking at the changes. He was not one of them.
Tyler Goyiton today is a full participantry Tyler Smith.

Speaker 7 (16:57):
Tyler Smith still limited with the knee. Donovan Wilson upgraded
to limited and we saw him out there. Some bad news,
Dante Fowler out with an illness, Joe Milton out for
personal reasons, Miles Sanders downgraded to did not practice. Looks
like another week for Jayden Blue potentially, and then Jonathan
Mingo downgraded to did not practice.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
So he's not gonna get the chance to bust it
behind home coming again.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
It's two years in a row, the get Mingo, get
back game.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
It's not happening.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Buckle up, buckle up.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
Love it. I love it, I love it.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Cavante Turpin didn't practice correct, not expected to play this week,
so they got away with it against Jets.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
How long can they keep keep.

Speaker 7 (17:42):
This up without Turpin? Specifically, I think in the return
game they are okay. They're not gonna be a bad shape.
I think they have quality of returners that can work
in the kick return and punt return game. Offensively, you'd
like to have his juice. You know for sure you
got a big performance from Ryan Flinoy. You're gonna need
another one of this upcoming week from somebody else or Flinoy.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
Against Flinoy AA.

Speaker 7 (18:03):
Jalen Toby Yes, actually, yes, yes, then it would be
perfect to trade him next week. Let's get like two
hundred yards from Jalen Tolbert.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Does he know this shit? How you feel?

Speaker 5 (18:15):
I mean someone like probably girl? Probably not, But then
everybody's got the Devon Street in the life.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
I'm just waiting on.

Speaker 6 (18:22):
You think Floyd's that much better?

Speaker 4 (18:23):
Huh uh?

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Not necessarily that.

Speaker 7 (18:25):
It's just that you have really good trade value in
front of you for Jalen Tolbert right now, you know,
and he's not gonna be here next year.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
You don't need him the rest of the season.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
So what are we talking? A fifth round pick, a
sixth round pick?

Speaker 1 (18:36):
You try to get a starting calib for linebacker.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
No, Nick Nix, you have Nicks more blood play.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
He's that good he should stay here. I disagree.

Speaker 6 (18:45):
I think good enough to get that level of player.
Then why are you trading him?

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Because you don't need an extra receiver right now? You
do need to you do need a linebacker. Yeah, you
need a linebacker.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
And so he said you're gonna have pickings. You'll have
you'll have CD Turp, Well Turp, but you also have Ferguson.
So those are your three targets. Your three targets, right there.
So now you're adding Filinoyd turping there as well, Williams
in the basket you know where you know how many
balls can get around and if he's playing at this.

Speaker 6 (19:10):
High level, I just don't know that there's trade values
as high as Nick seems to think.

Speaker 7 (19:13):
Seven touchdowns, seven receiving touchdowns. Would you put that on
on pace with like ten sacks?

Speaker 6 (19:18):
I would say, if you're trying to sell him to me,
I'm saying, well, if he's such a great too, why'd
you go trade for pickings?

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Because we needed long term value that you're gonna get
rid of this year.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
So that don't work.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
No pickts, tag them, don't worry about it.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
You know, we don't believe it. General imagine Nick full stream.
We ain't file off that truck last night.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
I just in and I know we can't dive way
too into it because of the tampering. But show me
the team, you know, text me the team that's got
linebacker depth.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
Okay, that's what I'd like to because that's that's.

Speaker 3 (19:49):
Because it had done the research now, right, So so
if you have wide receiver depth, showed me the team
that has lineback or death and you look, you know,
you can find.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
If you if it can be like the trade that
Tampa I mean at the the Browns and the Jaguars
mate this guy Burners, Yeah, this guy fits you.

Speaker 6 (20:05):
We got and is he the Browns have anybody they're
looking It looks like they're offloading.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
They are.

Speaker 6 (20:13):
They've made three trades in the last week. Twice they
got rid of players, including Joe Flaccows.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Team playing in Super Bowl last year. Like he's a
receiver right now, pretty good linebacker?

Speaker 3 (20:23):
Okay, all rights, maybe maybe we're not sure.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
We'll think about it.

Speaker 10 (20:30):
Ed.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
You're uh, you're asking about Javonte Williams, who's going back
to North Carolina. Former Tar Hill running back going back
to North Carolina, Charlotte a long way away from Chapel
Hill and everything that's going on with Belichick up there.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
So good for him and had to be around it.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Plus, good thing you missed that here he's a Mac
Brown guy. He's a Mac Brown guy. Apparently that's what
they made careful moving on from Mac Brown. That's been
proven twice now Yeah, yeah, okay, go ahead, do you
I'm sorry, no, no, no, no, william Sure. I just
said I was there for that.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
I was there for Game one, and I saw all
the hype, and you know, it's just it's just it's sad.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
It's sad.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
It's sad to watch man, sad to watch him going
home tomorrow. So it's gonna be the same. You feel bad.
You can't he mess.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
You know, it's just.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
Sad, it's said the state of the program.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Yeah, man, it's sad.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
All the all that. You know, it's so good in basketball,
but people have you know, all the hype and all
the joy.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
I mean, it's all gone. It's all gone. I mean
it's not even reached Halloween and it's all gone.

Speaker 6 (21:30):
Why did anybody think he was going to succeed at
the college level? People, he hadn't been around the game.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
He doesn't.

Speaker 6 (21:36):
It's more complicated than ever before.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
At the n I L. He didn't want to pay
Tom Brady.

Speaker 5 (21:45):
Eighteen year old.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
Too shit, too shit, too shit. You didn't want to
pay Tom Brady or them Branch.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
I don't want to. You don't want to kiss the
ring and do all the stuff to high school. The
college coaches need to do at least until they get
your on campus. Then they can act the food.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
So needless to say, Gavante's not going to be.

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Can you imagine him jumping in a pool with a recruit.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
And then losing them two weeks later, and you're working
on a story on Javonte Williams.

Speaker 6 (22:12):
I think a lot of us are working on a
story involving Clayton Adams, the offensive coordinator, who's you know,
changed the run game. But yeah, Gavonte Williams is an
interesting story to me because of how early they identified
him as a potential replacement or addition to Recodowdle in
the running back room. Like they decided early on last year,

(22:34):
by mid season, they knew they had to do something
at the running back position, and when they evaluated everybody,
Javante Williams was a guy who stood out to them
as a guy who might be available in free agency
given his injury history with the Broncos, and you know,
Sean Payton wanted to change out his entire running back room.
And I think they had determined that Gavante was never
going to be an adequate frontline starting running back, three

(22:58):
down player anymore. They thought he was a three a
third down back, and I think they so far, it
looks like they misjudged him.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Yeah, Javontae's back to playing the way he did Carolina.
I mean, he's a really good football player.

Speaker 6 (23:09):
And I hurt those are always the Cowboys best offense
is the best teams like even not just in the
eight min years of championship years in nineties, but Romo's
best teams had DeMarco Murray.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
He went NFC when he won the NFC, I mean
the NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
Yeah, he was an NFL rushing champion YP and early
in Dak's career he had Zeke win two rushing championships. Yes,
so Dak's at his best, as most quarterbacks are, when
there's the threat of a running game and you're seeing
it now with the the play action passing game and
what all four touchdowns last week, we're play action passes.
Dak just said today that's the part of the game
I love the most as a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
I think about Peyton Manning and as the great as
a players, Peyton Manning was in fantastic quarterback. The guy
had run games. I mean between you come into the league,
ares Marshall Fulk and then there's Eder and James and
they will always Bill Pulling always made sure, he had
a fantastic running back around these two first round picks
on running backs and the game from Yukon. I mean,
and it helped Peyton Manning. And so if you're doing

(24:05):
it for a Hall of Fame or a first ballot
guy like that, why aren't you doing it?

Speaker 6 (24:10):
When did John Elways start winning Super Bowls?

Speaker 3 (24:12):
Terrell Davis showed up, rushed for Buck fifty and Super
Bowl thirty two, Yeah, and then went two thousand.

Speaker 6 (24:17):
Old Davis won the game that carried Elway off the field.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Yeah, yeah, this one's for John.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
But the cool thing was his Elway's wife at the
time went up to his mom and said, your son
wanted a Super Bowl, so she knew. We've been here
three times. If I got smoked, we finally walked down
here with thanks mom. So yes, you're correct.

Speaker 6 (24:34):
But I mean, if you look at what happened last year,
like McCarthy evolved to the point where Dak was in
the shotgun seventy four percent of the time.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Yeah, it's almost no threat of a running game.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yeah, I think that's why shot He got the job.

Speaker 6 (24:47):
I think Shoty got the job because upstairs I decided
they want to run the football, and he sold me
he was the guy to do it. I've done it
to two other franchises as a play caller, and I
can do it here.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
And they lost a belief that Mike was going to
ever do it.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
Mike was never going to do He wasn't gonna do it,
but he would always talk about that he was going.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
I mean, and that's okay. He might have in his
heart believed that he was going to do it. But
then what did people do as coaches? They resort back
to what they what they do.

Speaker 6 (25:13):
I remember when he was still in Green Bay and
it was they were getting ready to play the Cowboys.
It must have been the twenty sixteen game at lambeau
Field that the Cowboys won that really kind of convinced
everybody except Jerry that Dak should be the permanent starting quarterback,
even when Romo's healthy.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
And I was up there that week and I.

Speaker 6 (25:30):
Talked to McCarthy and he had Eddie Lacy, I think, right, yes, yes,
And Lacey's in the training room and they're putting up
the stats on TV in the training room and McCarthy
walks by and Eddie Lacy goes, hey, look who's leading
the league in rushing it was Zeke and he goes, yeah,
you had to find a play color.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
He'll give you the ball them many times.

Speaker 5 (25:52):
See total seven didn't even know it?

Speaker 8 (25:54):
Lies?

Speaker 4 (25:55):
Yeah, exactly, lot the lies we tell ourselves.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
Yeah, Mike, Mike told a lot of lies about run
game and uh but so far, you know, they give
them credit.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
They identified the right players.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
We were just debating it on the players lounge about well,
you know, should you kept Rico and I was like no,
because he won seven games.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
Well you don't give up a thousand hoard rushers. I'm like, hey,
you do.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
Well, my thing was a thousand yards and seventeen game seasons,
not the same as when we was.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
This thirteen.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
Is that of five weeks to decide he was should
be the starting running back?

Speaker 9 (26:25):
Right?

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Yeah, I mean just you know last year's hold the
whole run game was bad. Last year, hold the whole
fit in the room.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
That being said, we should acknowledge it.

Speaker 6 (26:32):
McCarthy did win way more games than anybody else who's
recently been here, Like, he won twelve games three years
in a row.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
So let's add that.

Speaker 5 (26:40):
Okay, it's been added.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Yes, No, the guy we're talking about one two. Okay,
so when he gets to thirty six, we'll think about it.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
Okay, all right, fair point, fair point, all right, it's
gonna final break here on the meaty bash on Dallas.

Jeff coleb Over at Fox four asked him about, Hey,
you know you passed Tony Romo for most wins and
be number.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
Three in my favorite response today, Yes, but go ahead
take it from there.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Oh you guys, you said, let somebody else that he's
chasing Roger and Troy first.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
I don't celebrate being third.

Speaker 5 (29:57):
That's perfect.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Man was watching like when he was asked after the
game after the Packer game.

Speaker 6 (30:04):
When he was approaching some of Romo's records, he said
something like, yeah, that's all great, and you know, I
love being successful and I'm aware of the history before me,
but I really want to do it. Roger and Troy
did Yeah, that's I don't care.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
He's right. Thinks he's right.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Was Archie okay when he said that, Wow, right to
call him? I did.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
My man's man's client like that. We all got clients.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Okay, we all got hey. I was his guy.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
Okay, we all knew get out the way. It was
his guy. It was his guy.

Speaker 10 (30:42):
Right.

Speaker 5 (30:43):
He finds you a quarterback that reported look as your way,
Uh chill, looks at the deck.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
There was Romo looking at Romo wall. You looked at Quincy.

Speaker 5 (30:53):
Yep, yep.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Now that where we go.

Speaker 5 (30:57):
I'm all when, as I like to say, that worked
out with two above the fold and they got cuts.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Worked out great for Archer, though.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Chefter broke the story when he retired.

Speaker 5 (31:12):
Same team, same team.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
It doesn't matter to two of them.

Speaker 5 (31:14):
You know, same thing, same thing.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
I'd be hot. All that I do for you, better
call me, you know, better call me no.

Speaker 5 (31:22):
No I one way deal, bro, that's the conversation I had.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
We had we had some rain, we had a compensation.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
Man, I've had two of those conversations my career, the
phone rain both times.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
Yeah, yeah, no, I'd have been hot. I'd have been hot.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
I make it three.

Speaker 5 (31:39):
I just thought of somebody. Three of those they ranged
three times.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
Let's you broke it so yeah, you can say it right.

Speaker 5 (31:44):
Quincy Woodson's retirement and lace Will getting fired.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
Yeah, Gary Passion called me when when he got let
go TC we were Halloween Sunday night.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
Uh, Cooper Rush got the start against Minnesota and I
found out like, okay, we went and got it.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
Up there, but you know, bro, what's up?

Speaker 3 (32:07):
No, he was just like, yeah, I heard this boom yep,
told me all right when when tweet out there, got
it out there going.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
But you know, obviously was Cowboys day, so it was
gonna be cowboys.

Speaker 5 (32:17):
Bigger clients, exactly clients now everybody else you don't expect
him to call, but your clients because they know that
you that they you invested.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
Yes, they know it and you know it. But back
to Dak yeah, back he it's it's interesting that he
seems to.

Speaker 6 (32:34):
Be giving himself quite a few more years to achieve
what Roger and Troy did maybe because you know he's
thirty two, but he's talking about playing until he's forty now,
so that would give him seven or eight years.

Speaker 5 (32:44):
To he made to get that thing done. The next
three or four.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Well, hey, if this offensive line with these kinds of backs,
if you can protect Dak Prescott and they give him
a run game and you know, sign somebody like.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Give the guy some hell what it's a defense.

Speaker 6 (32:56):
You gotta have a defense, like that's what's that's what's
gonna hold him back this year.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
It'll hold him back this year. But you know, armed
with and this is going to be the interesting thing
about at least in my opinion.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
For first round picks the next two years that But are.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
They how sold are they on Eberflutes to the end
of the year to see exactly how they feel We're
going four for four or do they do like this
is like Nolan we in and out right?

Speaker 4 (33:19):
So so how did they feel?

Speaker 6 (33:21):
I don't think they were ever sold on Nolan. I
think that was totally a Mike McCarthy proove and I
think Eberflus was definitely endorsed by.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
They know they know I'm like and so so a
good defensive coordination, and so Flus is your guy. Do
for Flus what you did for Dan Quinn. Here's a draft,
here's some people.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
What what do you want? Give him what he needs?

Speaker 1 (33:42):
So so do that.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
I think that's the fair thing to do, because when
they brought in I said that about Quinn. When they
brought in Quinn, don't just hire him. Let him hire
his coaches and the people who know his system. So
we got to bring in Joe Whitney.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
We got to bring in.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
People on all three levels and players who knew what
to do. So if you're going to help the defense,
do that. And if you're sold that Fluce is your guy,
we'll go get into the players you need and take
away some of the players that did don't fit what
he wants to do. Whoever they may be, Number seven
will most likely be gone because number seven I was.

Speaker 6 (34:14):
They're the only team in football scoring thirty points a
game and giving up thirty a game.

Speaker 5 (34:18):
I like the balance.

Speaker 6 (34:20):
They play complimentary football exclusively on offense.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
But this whole team is not complimentary.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
Last year's Bengals. So yeah, yeah, where.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
Joe Burrow did with that team, you didn't get to
the playoffs, right.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
So, but but that's to me, that's that that's what
they're gonna do. You've got to play. You've got a
quarterback who is would you sa say he knows the
answers to the test? So yeah, I think he's at
the point. And so so that's what you got to
help him. I just feel the last few years they've
asked him to win. Hey man, you carr us it's
claim to called CD and the Maybes. Last year, Well

(34:53):
it's not a maybe's anymore now that they're just players
and so.

Speaker 6 (34:55):
Well, they invested in the offense, they invested in him
this year.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
But now they got to help him with the other
side of the and yeah, and so Pickens is going
to be a very interesting thing after the season is
to see what they do. I certainly wouldn't want to
let that guy get out the door. If it's even
if you you franchise, you know, you don't let that
guy get out of the door. You at least want
to try it one more year with him. But they
got to get some help defensively to help the quarterback
outs might.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Have capital was they invested into George Pickens. They have to.
They have to at least bring him back on a tag,
make it two years. How is he going to handle that? Yeah,
that's a good question. How's his agent going to handle that?
That's a good question. Does Jerry know his name?

Speaker 3 (35:35):
He has to now, yeah, and and and luck. I
mean it's and that's one where where the quarterback has
rarely said something. The quarterbacks should come on out and say, hey,
Pickens needs to be bad.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
Who the quarterback is and you know what, the quarterback
needs to go ahead and get it, step out.

Speaker 6 (35:49):
I think he gives his opinions to the people directly.
I just don't think he shares them publicly and puts
that pressure on Well, we'll.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
Do like your man far When FARV wanted something up there,
he said it didn't get it very often. Ted Thompson
didn't make anything easy on Needy say it, but but
you know, do flex what you can and if you're
going to have another good year, just say hey, look,
this is.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
How we need to have him bad. I mean I
think I would.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
I would think maybe by the end of the year
if Pickens continued to play like this, it's known.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
But give the guy that I consistently go back to
this my think about Peyton Manning.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
A great player as he was, he had a general
manager who consistently put and spit draft capital to make
him better.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
And how did he win his last Super Bowl?

Speaker 6 (36:33):
Defense? The defense won Peyton Mannings last Super Bowl one?

Speaker 3 (36:37):
They did. They added defense at the end. But when
he went to Denver, they were giving him. Here's Wes
Welker again, here's de Marius Tommy. They put weapons, he
had weapons, he had weapons, and by the end, poor
guy was arm show.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
Everything wasn't. Mark Osweiler was a good option.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
Let's rest Payton for the playoffs, right, But you know,
and he told d ware and and and down, you
guys don't have to go out there and get this one.
But but that's what they did. And so his career
was spending. So do the same for Dak is all
I'm saying. I mean, even with Jalen Hurts up there,
they got the guy help. Hey, here's a great running back. Gee,
look what happened. You know, they went from going to

(37:11):
the Super Bowl to winning it.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
Do that for four.

Speaker 4 (37:14):
But you're right, they do need some defense around here.
So but you can't accomplish both.

Speaker 6 (37:19):
I wonder if Jerry knew that Dak was going to
play this well, and Givonte was going to play this well,
and Pickens was going to play like this, what do
you have still traded micah Man, Wait till Peyton Turner.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
