Dallas how Boy.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Yeah stand up?

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Oh yeah, we do the victor.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
We can't do it. Let it's been a while. Yeah,
we can't do it.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
It's been a while since we got in victory formation
here and welcome to a fabulous fight song. Football Fridays
were mixed shots, having a hard time getting plugged in,
and we are ready to go.

Speaker 5 (01:20):
A false start from me, Thank somebody that sits here
before me's deaf?

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Oh wow, okay, all right, we have issues. We were
off to such a great start. And then what number
did you wear when you played football? Making I think
it was fifty? False start number fifty on the office,
Mickey Spagnola, All right, so much to get to, so

(01:47):
little time to get there, and we start here at
high noon with breaking news. How's your Brian Schottenheimer's press
conference within the last half hour?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Okay, unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Everson how's your back metal?

Speaker 6 (02:03):
Let's say what's going on?

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Man?

Speaker 4 (02:06):
You're ready to play?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
I'm not.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
You're not ready.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
I'm ready to bitch about it.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
But we're looking for cornerbacks.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
You're needed.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Breaking news on Trayvon Diggs, Mickey, you want to handle it.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
He had an accident at home.

Speaker 7 (02:19):
Ah, don't do that, don't do that. Don't start with that.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Hit his head and came in and he's in concussion protocol.

Speaker 6 (02:28):
Are you serious?

Speaker 4 (02:29):
And he's out for Sunday?

Speaker 3 (02:32):
So, man, what is it like at home?

Speaker 6 (02:36):
What is it like?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I mean, how do you?

Speaker 4 (02:38):
And again, we don't know that. That's all we know.
That's all Schottenheimer.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Said right at the press conference, So we don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
He had just found out about it on his way
to the press conference. He had been in meetings this morning.

Speaker 8 (02:51):
So I'm hoping nothing nothing. Yeahfully it's happened, but damn
you know, man, that is but you know that's themselves.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
But actually you heard yourself at home and no, it.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
Was the what the Rangers picture walking his dog down
the steps and tripped and up his foot. Derek Holland, Derek,
thank you, Chris.

Speaker 6 (03:20):
He has a concussion.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Yes, he's in concussion program.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
He's in concussion protocol that checked him and he's been
ruled out.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
For Sunday's game.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
That's crazy.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
So it's it's even because dan Quinn ruled Terry McLaurin
out for the game.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
And then Deebo's mispracticed this week.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
And uh, it got Noah Brown had gone that Debo
was out there stretching, but he wasn't in uniform today
today this morning. Yeah, so and he's so they couldn't.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
They're they're out McLaurin for sure. Who it was limited
in practice on Wednesday and then did not participate yesterday
and now he's been ruled out and uh, Deebo has
not practiced this week and as Mickey said, he was
not in workout.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
And Noah Brown is.

Speaker 9 (04:15):
Okay, So all right, Diggs is out. His backup is
now Kayln Carson is it? No move has been made
working on that today, Okay, it's Kyrie.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Elam would be the guy right now, right.

Speaker 5 (04:31):
You would think, and and then I would imagine that
means Kayln Carson has to.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Be Uh they got to make a decision o Tayling Carson.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Today, Okay, but.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
He's eligible, so they could bring him up.

Speaker 8 (04:48):
So you move you move Bland into the slot on
third downs, right, Well, they were you can still do that.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
Well, they'll have to decide is it better having Ready
Steward in the slot and Bland outside.

Speaker 9 (05:03):
In this case with an injury, I would say Ready
Stewart would be a slot and you'd move Bland to
the keep Bland on that.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
Yeah, probably keep it with yeah.

Speaker 9 (05:12):
Yeah, because if Diggs is healthy, as we saw last week,
they were, you know, more apt to put Dan Bland
in the in the nickels.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
So that goes my game plan.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
But to your point to your game, to.

Speaker 8 (05:24):
You, we're gonna play man to man. Okay, that was
gonna be my game plan. We gotta play man to
man and then you know, man up with these guys.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Hopefully you don't do it on fourth and four.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Well, now we should. We have learned our lesson. Let's
do it.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
You know this, And I heard the discussion all the
way in when they interviewed Shoddy this morning about man
and zone. Does that affect what you do stopping the
run in the front four?

Speaker 3 (05:49):
It does? It does well.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
You would think zone would help zone with him, but
it didn't because they ran for two hundred and sixteen yards. Yeah,
all this stuff about man and zone, I want to
know what's happening up front up there at this point
they play some man play something.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Well, then you got a quarterback in Washington that if
you're playing man and he takes off and you're.

Speaker 8 (06:14):
That's why he's also affects the running still the running game, which.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
I think they showed that during the game like three
times when they were in man and he took off
right up the middle and they didn't catch him for
twenty yards. There's nobody there.

Speaker 9 (06:30):
Jane Daniels is still I mean he still got those wheels,
but yeah, he's not. He's definitely not after the knee injury. So, man,
I tell you what, that was a Debbie downer when
it comes down to news. I mean, Trayvon Diggs has
been probably in Mickey's doghouse still, but.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
The door just opened to get it.

Speaker 9 (06:52):
It's a hard place to get out of. Ladies still
trying to get out of. It's a dungeon. It's a
Dutch brother.

Speaker 7 (07:03):
Oh man, we know who ain't in me? What a
place to be.

Speaker 9 (07:11):
But I'm telling you what if you're telling me Scaritarry's
is out and deebo is questionable. I mean, it really
doesn't make me feel any better based off of what
we saw in the running game last week, and knowing
that they have some guys that can still get it done.
Chris Moore and Luke McCaffrey, I think are still capable.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
Let me fill you in on what they've done this year.
And Chris Moore coming off a game against Chicago in
which he had three catches for forty six yards and
a touchdown. On the season, he's at twelve targets, six catches,
one hundred and five yards, averaging seventeen and a half
yards of catch with one touchdown. Luke McCaffrey, their third
round draft pick last year, brother of Christian McCaffrey, on

(07:50):
the season ten targets, eight catches, one hundred and seventy
nine yards and three touchdowns. He had that wide open
thirty three yard touchdown against Chicago on night. And then
Jalen Lane, rookie fourth round draft pick, has fifteen targets,
seven catches, eighty two yards, no touchdowns, and he had
one catch for thirty seven yards plus a run of

(08:12):
seven yards against Chicago.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
And they just signed Traylon Burke to the practice.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Oh Arkansas razorback for former first round draft pick of
the Titan did not pan out well. He had an
injury issue this last year in Tennessee he was with
the Titans.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
And is he from Mansfield or No, he's not. But
I thought I was going to get to high school
after all. But he has been.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
He's basically considered a first round bust. He was the guy,
he was a first kick, his first round pick. They
drafted him at the same time that they traded AJ
Brown to Philadelphia, So those were humongous shoes to fill.
And now he's available and he's picked up by the Command.

Speaker 8 (08:54):
I would be I'm still disappointed because I would love
for our our love for us to be shored up better.
For a team that really has a lot of injuries
to deal with, I would love to be I love
that to be our advantage as far as personnel is concerned.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
I don't think we have that advantage now.

Speaker 8 (09:14):
It evens the playing field a little bit now because
now they're going to be throwing the ball to Luke
and and and the running back. They're gonna they're gonna
target those guys. Yes, So it's still gonna be heavy run.
But I still, I still think the running backs are
going to take the brunt of all of the catches.

Speaker 9 (09:30):
That's where I'm most worried. I mean, you have Laramie Tunsel,
Tyler Biattish, you guys remember Tyler biattas Uh, Josh Connery
Junior on their offensive line. So look, they're definitely gonna
attack us in the running game, if I mean, regardless
of its first. Yeah, the first, That's what I'm saying.
Even with all the injuries, I think my guy Bill
Krosski Mirrit is gonna get a ton of carries and

(09:52):
from just based off of those injuries. Now, it just
opens up the door for Jaden uh, for for Jayden
Daniels to also exert himself into the running game because
they are shorthanded. Debo being hurt is the biggest part though.
I Mean McLaurin is one thing, but I think Debo
he's such a versatile piece offensively, a guy that you
can move all around the chess board.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
But also the change.

Speaker 8 (10:15):
Yeah, he moves a change and set them off, kickoff Rea,
he moves those.

Speaker 9 (10:19):
So I mean, look, defensive flu is already in a
tough position and this is one of those one of
those games that I wouldn't say they just got to
have a better showing on defense in this game all around.

Speaker 8 (10:32):
As far as I'm concerned, this game is not just
uh for all of the obvious reasons, very important to us,
but it's a divisional game. Yes, you know, when you
start the visual games you're talking about, the norm is
thrown out the window for the most part. You know,
we played the Giants, we thought we were gonna blow
the Giants. But when it comes down to a teams

(10:52):
inherently know so much about each other as far as
the coaching staff is concerned, that tendencies and things of
that nature. It really was the playing field no matter
what the record is. That's why divisional games are so
closely played, simply because the teams know each other, not
just from a scheme standpoint, but from a personal stand.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Let me throw in another thing. As far as their
run game goes, it's their tight ends. Now, zach Ertz
would not be considered a run blocking tight end. He's
a receiving tight end. But they invested a lot of
money in John Bates, their second tight end three years,
twenty one million dollars and a second round draft pick
Ben Snatt last year out of Kansas State, and I

(11:35):
relate it back to what Carolina was able to do
against this Dallas defense using their tight ends as blockers.
Talking with Will McLay yesterday, he was talking about Tommy Trimble,
He's considered a very good blocking tight end for Carolina,
and then their rookie Mitchell Evans as well. They had
their way with the Cowboys defensive ends last week.

Speaker 9 (11:57):
Build one name on that Cowboys defense that has to
have a game. Give me, give me a name, one
guy that has to have lights out.

Speaker 7 (12:07):
All of them, No, all of them, but I'm just
at one name.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
I likes a Roku. I really like this.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
I like yeah, I like that.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
I'd like to see him.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
What I'm interested is seeing if that they give him more. Uh,
you know what I would like to see would be
and I understand the rotation, but it's the guys that
are considered your best run defending defensive ends, which would
be Marshawn Nelan who's been playing on an ankle as
Iraka would be another one, him coming of age now

(12:36):
that this is his seventh NFL game and giving them
more snaps.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
You know, James Hugh. I mean, yeah, James Houston. He's
a he's a pass rushing edge. His dimensions being only
six foot tall, it's just very difficult for him physically
to defend the run. And so the key is handling
first down and second down so that you're in especially

(13:06):
first down where they're not getting eight and nine yards
on you like Rico did last week. And so to
answer your question, it's the run defenders as a as
a group, the run defenders which is your front seven,
linebackers and everybody have got to step up and play
a much better game this week.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
And especially the defensive ends.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Defensive ends nothing.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
They got nine guys with more tackles than the first
defensive lineman shows up on the stat sheet. That's crazy, right,
and uh, I believe it was.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
And part of that is. Part of that is an
emphasis on getting to the quarterback, you know, and but
you got to you have to defend the run in
order to get in position where you can go after
the quarterback, meaning in distance.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
He knows that.

Speaker 8 (13:57):
So the running that changes everything because we have been
giving up the run so badly. I don't know if
they understand how to do what He's trying to make
them do pay play the run on the way to
the quarterback. Obviously we don't know what the hell that is.
And you've got our defensive ends who have an idea
of whether you want the quarterback to be. But you

(14:17):
still have to have linebackers and your tackles have to
cover your ass when you.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Go, especially this week, against a quarterback who can get
out on a zone three eight increases.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Yeah, I mean it was.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
If you go look at the Chicago Washington game on
Monday night, those defensive ends, they obviously were coached. They're
not talking about pinning their ears back and going after
the canallack. They are basically coming off the ball standing
your lanes. Yeah, and they are defending the run.

Speaker 9 (14:46):
First one name, you didn't tall, No one said this name.
And he has had an awful week because everybody with
an all twenty two has found number fifty four, Sam Williams.

Speaker 6 (14:56):
And and look.

Speaker 7 (14:58):
Here's the deal.

Speaker 9 (14:59):
A guy coming back from an ACL injury that you
had a lot of promise, that has a lot of
promise and a lot of hope from the organization that
would have a good season this year after the Micah trade,
is not having a good year. And whether it's the
knee or whatever it is, he's getting a ton of snaps.
And in a game like this, you need Sam Williams
to show up. And all I've ever heard from coaches
in the NFL is that rushing the passler is a

(15:21):
privilege and not a right. And so to get that privilege,
to earn that privilege, he has to be sturdy against
the run, which we did not see last week. And
this guy is playing the lion's share of the snaps
and he has to.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Produce and he hasn't been that in his career. He's
always been its first two years in the league, he
was the specialty pass rusher because he was not starting
a defensive end. You had other guys, whether it's Chauncey
Goldston or DeMarcus Lawrence or whoever. And last year was
going to be the year he was going to get
his opportunity, and he has his acl Now this is
the year he is his opportunity where he's got to

(15:55):
show that he can defend the run.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
Well, we has always said it at defensive. Then he
has the second most tackles. He's got fifteen as a
Rocus got seventeen and The first guy that was showed
up in the top ten in the tackles was also
with eighteen. Williams is not that far off. It just

(16:19):
needs to be better.

Speaker 8 (16:20):
I'm not worried about the tackles run. It's the pass
rush where we need him. That's where we need him.
And I don't think that that that what was his
knee his knee. I just don't think it's right. And
we've had instances before where guys need more than one
year to really fully recover.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
Well, it's everybody. They've got Houston with three and a
half sacks, Kenny Clark one and a half, and everybody
else has got one.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
But they weren't in a position last week to even
go after the quarterback because they were getting gashed so
much in the run game. They were never in a
pass situation.

Speaker 8 (16:57):
You can't say that for every game though, right, So
that's yeah, that's.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
That Jets game they had five sacks.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Yeah, yeah, but Chicago they didn't.

Speaker 5 (17:05):
No, Yeah, so yeah, they felt dying so much.

Speaker 8 (17:10):
See got excuses. I mean, look, I mean that's the
excuses that he hears. You see what I'm saying. So
you know, that's what they always talk about. I mean,
we got so many excuses on this damn team. You know,
just somebody come out and make a play in spite
of the fact that things, the odds might be against you.
You know, people do it all the time. It's not
like it's something unheard of. Players step up. We just

(17:33):
we don't have that step up mentality at this point.
I don't know if it's the system. I don't know
if we're playing it safe. I don't know if they're
being taught a different way, but we seem to have
a passive, a very passive defense.

Speaker 6 (17:46):
Picks to click.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
You know, this is a this is a conversation for
next week, but just to give you an idea. You
know what team leads the league in the sacks thens
you know me sacks they have. They've got thirty sacks
on the season in six games. They're average. Help, they're average.
They got nine line against the Jets, and the Cowboys

(18:10):
had five against that same team, the Jets. So you
can subtract the five from the Cowboys, you subtract the
nine from the Broncos, and they've got twenty one in
four games.

Speaker 9 (18:20):
I want to hit your incentives late of Jets, but boys,
I didn't want to say.

Speaker 7 (18:26):
I didn't say that.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
There's a and vance Joseph, the defensive coordinator, is known
for blitzing. Okay, so, but there's a team that they're
every They are unpaced to have over one hundred sacks
this season as a team, which would destroy the NFL record.
It is possible about the quarterback?

Speaker 8 (18:48):
What about the Cowboys? What's our record for sacks in
the season?

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Most or least? Yeah? Most?

Speaker 6 (18:55):
Don't have to take a break for that.

Speaker 7 (18:57):
Got that one to take a break to that.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
It's a time for a break here.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
All in.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
That's a that's a great tea. Well that was before
sacks were kept, not in eighty one, yeah, but starting
in eighty one.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
Oh wow, so official?

Speaker 4 (19:15):
Yeah, really yeah? All right, we got something?

Speaker 5 (19:18):
How you got?

Speaker 8 (19:21):
I got a half a sack? I believe he ran
out of the bounds. I think make you behind the
behind the line of scripts.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
All right, and we continue with more shouts the answer
to Everson's trivia question, and uh, maybe we'll flip it
over to Cowboys offense versus Washington. We had no answer
on the defensive side, and we come back.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Look at.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
But first, yeah, I'm still depressed.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
If you watched last night.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
I did, what'd you think? I figured it was going
to happen, which is Aaron Rodgers. I figured it would happen.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
Let's tear it for the forty something.

Speaker 8 (22:37):
I didn't know that. I didn't think that flack girl
played that well. But I thought that they would win
the game, because that's just the way the season is.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
How about he showed up? He got the trade was
a week ago Tuesday. He's already played two games and
no picks. They had no picks and two touchdowns in
the game the other day, and then this game they'd
come from behind Victor. How many targets did Jamar ship
to Hecla's point of feeding pickens, feeding pickens, feeding lamb

(23:08):
Jamar Chase with a quarterback that showed up eight days ago,
twenty three targets, but.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
He cut sixteen.

Speaker 8 (23:17):
Yeah, but the Pittsburgh DB's were playing like the Cowboys DB's.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
Have you got Jayalen Ramsey over it?

Speaker 5 (23:23):
I know that's fine.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
I was crazy.

Speaker 8 (23:26):
And he did not look good at all. He looked overweight.
It looked like maybe he was had lifted too many
weights or something. He did not have that same fluidity,
and man, they feasted on him.

Speaker 5 (23:36):
I thought Pittsburgh was like supposed to be big on defense.

Speaker 13 (23:39):
No, they had a coach. They haven't had that matter. No,
they have not had that glow. Oh that is sarcasm.
It's fine, but you know what, they haven't had this
not at all. Four and two four two, And they
got dusted yesterday. And and I tell you what, Mike Tomlin
came out and he was talking about Flocco and you
could tell he was a little.

Speaker 7 (23:58):
Upset about the trade.

Speaker 9 (23:59):
Yeah, because he already knew had the keys and he
was gonna unlock that offense even though he didn't know
the plays. It just he was smart enough to make
the throws to the right guys Jamar Chase and T
Higgins together. And I keep saying, like, you have a
dynamic duo of guys like that, thirty three targets combined together.

(24:20):
Come on, now, I mean the rest of these guys,
I know they're good, they're professionals as well. Go to
your playmakers, and that in that fourth quarter, that throw
that he made to T. Higgins and the wherewithal to
say I'm going to slide instead.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Of going down.

Speaker 6 (24:34):
Nice. Come on, man, it's just nice. Go to your
playoff was nice.

Speaker 8 (24:38):
And you know what I saw was secondary that just
doesn't have it like they usually have it for the
Pittsburgh Steelers, and they came into the game like that.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
How could Jamar Chase be running wide open like that
so many times?

Speaker 3 (24:53):
One I was on like a fourth down a big.

Speaker 5 (24:55):
Third thats yes, crossing, Yes, no one covered.

Speaker 6 (24:59):
Them the teacher Watt play yesterday.

Speaker 9 (25:01):
I mean, I'm just saying, when you have a finally
apex predator, he got one, finally got one set and
I knew he was gonna come through during the last
couple of drives, but I thought he'd come through more.

Speaker 8 (25:11):
But I thought he was hurt the entire game. Yeah, fourth, Like, damn,
he's actually playing.

Speaker 9 (25:16):
You have you have a guy that is stationary in flocko,
they don't matter Max protect or not. I'm blitzing him,
I'm coming after him. I'm moving him off his spots.
I don't let him just sit back there and get comfortable.
And I damn show don't let him run a second.
I don't let him run the second.

Speaker 8 (25:33):
Dary from linebackers to DB's probably just as bad as ours.

Speaker 9 (25:37):
Yeah, I mean, I got agree with you on that,
but that was one of those showings from them that
I just felt like, you know, five carries.

Speaker 7 (25:42):
Three yards from Joe Fla. I would add, Flock should
have been scared to get out.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
What about the r PO then he.

Speaker 4 (25:48):
Pulled When I heard him talking about it, that was
so smooth.

Speaker 7 (25:55):
I know he actually ran, he said.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
He said that even after when he did it, he
was like, what am I doing?

Speaker 5 (26:02):
I lost my damn the ball and I'm guaranteeing His
family was like.

Speaker 7 (26:06):
No, no, good, damn.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
I just let you know, guys.

Speaker 8 (26:12):
And from what I heard, the Bengals always kicked Pittsburgh's
but at home, they just Pittsburgh comes into into Cincinnati
and they just don't play well defensively. And that's whether
Joe's playing obviously, whether Flacco's playing well.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
Then one thing that Flacco was talking about, and he
was being interviewed by Rich Gannon on the radio and
two Delaware guys, uh and but he was talking about that,
he went he would go back on his drop. Gannon
was saying, the amazing thing was you had receivers, whether
it was Higgins or Chase, they weren't even out of
their break yet, and the ball was already out and

(26:53):
Laco said, it was like it was like he has
this experience in the league. He can read the body
lane goodge of a top receiver like and he's only
been with them for a week, very few practices together.
He can read their body language and know what they're
about to do, and so when he's on his drop,
he knows exactly where to dodock the ball exactly.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Once again, that West Coast offensive style.

Speaker 8 (27:16):
Once that backfoot hitch, you got to throw at you,
and once you hesitate, then you're in trouble. Right If
you don't cause a hesitation, he's gonna be open. A
good quarterback is going to know exactly whether to put it,
and the dB, whether it's a linebacker or a defensive back,
they're always going to be a step behind.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
And that brings us to Dak Prescott, George Pickens, CD
Lamb in this Cowboys offense, and how much easier it
makes it for Dak that he's got two wide receivers
like this, just like what Flacco has with Cincinnati.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
Hou's Washington and gonna play it.

Speaker 9 (27:48):
I'm going to play man on CD, and I'm gonna
double team George Pickens. That's what I'm gonna do.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
They got somebody pick your man up against CD.

Speaker 9 (27:57):
I mean they better and them and especially with him
come out from a high ankle.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
Spring A lot of a lot of guys thought. I
got to tell you yesterday it was good dvs.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
Mar Marsha Marsha rookie Amos, Trey Amos is their second
round draft. Still I love him.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
He's there, nickel guy. Yeah, they's probably the best.

Speaker 3 (28:23):
With man to man, they will feel comfortable.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
And they're going to get it out of it real soon.

Speaker 8 (28:27):
And I hope that. I hope that we get him
out of it by running the ball. That's what I
hope we do. Let's just run the ball, and let's
keep our game plan. Let's not get too excited. Let's
keep we still have to run the ball, guys at
all times. It's part of our offense. Otherwise we become
so predictable.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
And I get it. We got lamb and we got pickings.

Speaker 8 (28:46):
But man, sometimes those guys will make a play sometimes,
and I don't want to force that. I don't want
to force our passing game onto into any game plan.
I wanted to be as elementary as possible. Let's run
the ball the way we've been bund of the ball,
with the last week being the exception, and let's play
off of that run.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
But make sure you're running somewhere duh, not into a
pile duh.

Speaker 6 (29:11):
Every every every single week.

Speaker 9 (29:13):
And Dak Dak has to be on his p's and
we know this, right, I'm stating the obvious. Dak has
to be on his p's and q's when it comes
down to maneuvering this offense. I steal Jake ferk kittle
Kelsey to me, can open up this.

Speaker 7 (29:27):
Canain Jake ferk Kelsey.

Speaker 9 (29:31):
All Right, you got a tight end that is exposed
in the middle of the field, and no matter how
I mean, Look, they have some weapons over there on defense.
I talked about Frankie Louvu yesterday and what they do
with him, but also og Bobby Wagner is over there,
been playing in the league for a very long time
and has been solid. I just think that that match
up alone, because you know defensively they're going to be
on George Pickens and Ceedee Lamb, that you may have

(29:54):
an opportunity with your tight end to expose their weakness.

Speaker 5 (29:57):
Well, what happens, because now you've got two outside linebackers
that can motion into the slot, you're gonna still man
them when they go in the slot.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
Who is Washington gonna in the slot? I hope they try.
I hope they do.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
Because that's let's hopeful, right because if the guy's following.

Speaker 13 (30:16):
Them into a lot to do with much less a linebacker, right, Yeah,
So Mickey, who do you That's the key thing.

Speaker 9 (30:22):
When you look at the offense, the wide receivers right now,
especially with CD coming back from injury, like is George
picking steal your first option? As far as a playmaker
is concerned this off.

Speaker 5 (30:32):
It depends on the defense. What's the defense doing? Okay,
whether it's I don't care what what they're playing, it's
how are they playing? Because they can't double both guys?
So what's the defense? And that Dak's got to read like, Okay,
he's he's my he's my target.

Speaker 6 (30:48):
So just do what he's been doing.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Who's that DC?

Speaker 4 (30:51):
Who's that defensive with Joe formerly here?

Speaker 8 (30:54):
Remember he was I'm sure they all know what he
likes to do when it comes to a situation like
a CD. The entire Cowboys coaching staff.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
Yeah, but we all know it wasn't here with Shottenheimer.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
I don't care where he is, just they'll know that.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
They'll know the talent, right, and.

Speaker 8 (31:12):
They will also still know his tendencies. You don't have
to well acts, No, I'm talking about the defensive coordinator's call.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Oh, I'm talking about you will.

Speaker 8 (31:20):
You will know Joe how Joe Whitt chooses to handle
two damn good wide receivers.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
He's shump.

Speaker 8 (31:27):
Sure, he's played against him before. We will have a tendency.
We will be able to see his tendencies, and we.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
Will act according And and you also have now six
games of evidence from this year how he's been using
this person.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (31:40):
And Colin, don't forget for NOI right.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
That's right. And no, no, don't forget.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
That's right.

Speaker 6 (31:46):
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (31:46):
And get Jayalen, get get Jalen Blue in there too,
jaydon Blue in there.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
Get them in there.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
I thought you were going to say, Jalen Tolbert.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Me too.

Speaker 14 (31:53):
Yeah, he thought about it to another Jay. I said,
all right, now this is like again, I think Dak
has got to be licking his chops knowing that this
is probably gonna be a shootout, right, Oh yeah, that's
gonna be shoot it's gonna be a shootout.

Speaker 9 (32:11):
And in this I'm I just feel like what George
Pickens is showing the Cowboys front office that he is
a He is definitely the keeper.

Speaker 6 (32:20):
He is a keeper, but he is a.

Speaker 9 (32:21):
Weapon and against teams in the in your division, you
can definitely soften them up. I saw it last night
obviously with Joe Flacco just going overkill with those twenty
three targets. And I'm not calling for that. What I
am saying is make it a known to establish his
presence in this game.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
I agreed. I agreed.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
All right, Mickey, did you listen to Jerry today he
say anything I did?

Speaker 3 (32:47):
You know?

Speaker 5 (32:47):
Nothing that I that stood out.

Speaker 9 (32:51):
We gotta find out what happened to Trayvon Dicks. I'm
still still I'm still in the space, Mickey. You gotta
you gotta find out what happened.

Speaker 5 (32:59):
I can do that.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
Yeah, Jerry on dallas struggling defense, it's going to get work.
It has room for improvement. You can tweak defenses and
make dramatic difference. We've had three different coordinators over the
last three years. That's my fault. I think our defense
will improve and it will improve to the level of
preventing some scoring. Oh no, that sounds like a plan,

(33:24):
all right. Now you've got to execute. So who are
the picks to click and who wins? On Sunday at
three twenty five at AT and T Stadium. Find out

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Okay, we've got a little bit of time before we
do make our picks to click.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
So who's stopping Jayden Daniels.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
Who's stopping Jayden Daniels?

Speaker 3 (36:11):
Should we have a spy?

Speaker 5 (36:13):
You got one that can keep up with him?

Speaker 4 (36:16):
Over shown?

Speaker 3 (36:17):
Is he on the field? To click right now?

Speaker 7 (36:24):
Man, don't do it.

Speaker 8 (36:26):
I'm looking. I think if they're going to put a spy,
he's got to be a safety. He's got to be
a safety. I think I don't know any linebackers that
we have they can keep up well?

Speaker 6 (36:35):
Files one I trust. I think I trust his speed.

Speaker 5 (36:39):
What about James can run?

Speaker 3 (36:43):
There's one thing to run, but this guy's you gotta
be able to tackle.

Speaker 4 (36:47):
Who's playing? Who your starting linebackers? Sanborn's back?

Speaker 5 (36:52):
I know, but he's available now.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
What they were doing with sand before Samborne went out
with his concussion, they were using James in sub packages already, right, okay?
And they wound up getting the full dose because this
was going back a week ago because Samborn went out
with an injury and then he started last week.

Speaker 5 (37:16):
And I don't know if any of their safeties can
run with him. Could jan Ye Thomas or Marquise Bell
run with them?

Speaker 8 (37:25):
He's got your dB you got to be able to
I mean, we have to have some type of ad
leticism one percent.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
Let's say you can run.

Speaker 5 (37:34):
Please well and yay, missed practice with a migraine.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
I'm sorry? Who was.

Speaker 10 (37:42):
That?

Speaker 3 (37:43):
Remember? Yes?

Speaker 5 (37:44):
Ye, remember I brought it up. Yes, I mean he's
got some speed, but does he have the recogniztion?

Speaker 8 (37:51):
Now you have to worry about the speed on on
one situation. Then now if you go the dime, then
who's going.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
To be.

Speaker 5 (37:58):
You?

Speaker 4 (37:58):
Recall against the Jets, Murray was the spy at times
with Justin Fields right early in the game he got
out and man, you clearly Murray was the spy on it.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
I think Daniels that's tough to say. I think Daniels
is even better runners.

Speaker 9 (38:14):
Yeah, yes, you said even better than Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 7 (38:18):
I still hadn't let that go ever since right now?

Speaker 6 (38:21):
Okay, just.

Speaker 9 (38:24):
Hurt too now, No, no, I mean I just picked
up on that.

Speaker 7 (38:30):
Man.

Speaker 9 (38:30):
Man, it's Florida fast. That's different. He was, Yeah he was,
he was not anymore. But does the game plan change
now because of this this crazy injury to Trayvon Diggs,
Because now you're going to have to protect completely different
and from what you have been practicing, you know all week.

Speaker 8 (38:48):
It changes your personnel now because you gotta go deep
onto the bench. And now who's because you still need
on dime.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
You still need a spy on dime? Now, who is
that going to be?

Speaker 8 (38:59):
If you had digs, then you could have been you know,
you wouldn't have to dig so far, so deep into
the Boston Well.

Speaker 5 (39:04):
It's got to be. I'm not worrying about that person's
ability to cover. I just want to know if he
can run.

Speaker 8 (39:10):
That's what that's my and so who is that now? Yeah,
we had digs, then it's you don't have to go
so far down the list. Now there's no digs. Now
we got to go even deeper into our into our roster.

Speaker 6 (39:21):
It's gonna be a shootout.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
It's gonna be a shootout.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
Okay, would you like some combine numbers on the linebackers?

Speaker 9 (39:27):
Okay, okay, you got combine numbers in there, so so just.

Speaker 4 (39:31):
Just okay now this now, whether they're combine, you know
they trained for the combine, whatever, but it gives you
a general idea. Murray ran a four five two at
the combine decent. Leah Fowl ran a four six four.

Speaker 6 (39:49):
That ain't decent.

Speaker 4 (39:50):
Chamar James ran a four six nine. Sanborn ran a
four seven three. It just either combine or foul ran
a four to six.

Speaker 13 (39:59):
No linebackers now they can't Thomas and.

Speaker 4 (40:06):
I'm looking to I don't have Overshown's number. He ran
Overshown ran of Just to give you an idea, Overshown
ran of four five six. So amongst the linebackers on
this roster, if you just went by forty times at
the combine or pro day, Murray is at at four
or five two. What's the mont Clark he is four

(40:27):
five seven. Anyway, that just gives you a general idea
on the line back What is.

Speaker 9 (40:31):
Going on with the Montclark? What is happening with him?
He didn't play much in the last game. But as
we've been talking about linebackers and the moon Clark has
been healthy scratches in some games. Have we figured out
what the rama reason is at this point with the
moon Clark on.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
The This is a second straight defensive coordinator.

Speaker 5 (40:50):
Right, Yeah, that's not it. And they started off with
him starting and then they liked him.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
They seem to like him in the younger three season
training camp, and then something has happened once the games
started playing.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
Yeah, played, wyon't you go asking?

Speaker 5 (41:03):
Ask demon? What's the deal?

Speaker 3 (41:04):
Ask the coach?

Speaker 4 (41:07):
Okay, it's time. It's it's twelve forty one.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
I guess I'm starting off.

Speaker 8 (41:11):
Jeez, I'm so confused here. Guys, it's going to be
a high school You were gonna pick digs and no,
I was not. I was not gonna pig digs. But
I do like the fact that we all agree that
it's going to be a high scoring game. I gotta
go Cowboys. Thirty five thirty three. Okay, that's what I'm
looking at.

Speaker 4 (41:32):
It's low scoring by Cowboys standards. At home, They've scored
forty points in each of their home games. It took
over time on both games to get there.

Speaker 8 (41:43):
I think what we're going to try and be smart.
We may not try and score so damn fast, you know.
We may try and put some drives together to where
we can keep the Commander's offense off the field.

Speaker 3 (41:54):
There's always different ways you can do it.

Speaker 8 (41:56):
Uh So, thirty five thirty three that is a low
score or considering what it could be.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
And I can't go with Dak. I could go Dak,
but I'm not gonna go with him.

Speaker 8 (42:06):
That's just too easy. I'm gonna go I can't go
Ferguson either. I'm gonna go defense guys. I'm going to
defense one of my DB's. They gotta make a play.

Speaker 4 (42:18):
Who rule.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
I don't want to call Carson. I'm not going with him.

Speaker 8 (42:26):
I'm not going with Bland because they're gonna leave Bland
alone as much as they can.

Speaker 3 (42:29):
They're gonna play safe passes.

Speaker 8 (42:31):
I'm looking at my boy Elam to come away with
an interception. That's the best room with a pick. That's
all I can do. That's the best I can do.
Can the boy catch, Let's hope, can he catch?

Speaker 5 (42:46):
I saw him catching training camp.

Speaker 8 (42:48):
Okay, and I was high on this guy when I
first saw him on film. So I'm going back to
that with a pick.

Speaker 5 (42:55):
Well, if this makes you feel better. Schottenheimer talked about
him and he said a lot of it is confident.
His biggest thing is to trust what he sees. He said,
And when it's third and six, he can't be ten
yards off.

Speaker 3 (43:12):
Well, see, that's the coaching point he has. That's the
coaching point that's going to give him a pick.

Speaker 4 (43:17):
He has two interceptions in his career.

Speaker 3 (43:19):
How many youths has he played?

Speaker 4 (43:21):
Well, he's now the thirty five games.

Speaker 3 (43:26):
That's average for these dbs these days.

Speaker 6 (43:28):
You're just trying to stay with your pick.

Speaker 3 (43:33):
Try to stay confident. All the DB's suck.

Speaker 8 (43:37):
As far as interceptions, well, nobody gets picks anymore.

Speaker 9 (43:42):
So we do the We do the score first, right,
we do the score first. Okay, So look, I don't
feel good about this game. I just want to want
to say that I don't feel good about it. Don't
feel good about this defense, even with the injuries that
they have. So look, I am going with the forty
burger and I think the Cowboys continue the trend and

(44:03):
scoring forty points at home. However, I think the Commanders
are going to be close behind.

Speaker 7 (44:11):
I really do.

Speaker 9 (44:11):
I think this is the kind of shootout that I'm
expecting in this game. But I'm gonna go Cowboys forty
two thirty eight over the Commanders and against my own
better judgment in this because I'm telling you I see
a ton of holes. But I am going with Sadarius
Lamb as my pick. I think man having him back

(44:32):
is going to completely galvanize even more and on fire defense,
and a guy like that that can expose this secondary.
I am looking for him to have a great game,
because George Pickens is going to be overlow. They're gonna
triple team number three.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
If that's smart. You're looking for what you want to
get a little more specific.

Speaker 6 (44:51):
I'm gonna go touchdown.

Speaker 9 (44:52):
I'm gonna go touchdown for pickings and I excuse me, picks.
I'm going to touchdown for lamb. Let's say eighty six yards.
Eighty six yards.

Speaker 8 (45:02):
You're going to even more detail, right, all right, that's
not bad, all right.

Speaker 5 (45:07):
I think that anybody we pick on offense would be
a pick to click right, too obvious. Before you started
on the cornerbacks, I was going to go with Doran
Bland and I got the Cowboys thirty four to thirty.

Speaker 4 (45:23):
Okay, there you go, thirty four to thirty.

Speaker 7 (45:25):
Mean, while you down, I.

Speaker 6 (45:26):
Pick the click Why you have to go?

Speaker 7 (45:27):
I start your whole thing off with them. You had
to do that.

Speaker 5 (45:30):
Because it was on top of them. What are you doing?

Speaker 7 (45:33):
For real? Let's get through this thing. But Wedne had
a good show.

Speaker 4 (45:37):
This many points are going to be scored. It's going
to be an offensive player is going to click right? Yes, Okay,
defensive players are not clicking. Not if you not. If
you're putting up another forty.

Speaker 5 (45:48):
Burger and you make a big play, that's.

Speaker 4 (45:52):
Gonna be again another forty burger. So the first home game,
beat the Giants forty to thirty seven and overtime time.
Second home game, tie game, forty forty in overtime, Third
home game, overtime, we go again, Washington forty Dallas forty three.

the pick to click because I don't know how many
field goals that would be.

Speaker 3 (46:53):
They're I'll be waiting on that.

Speaker 6 (46:55):
Don't think they'll make the same mistake they got him.

Speaker 8 (46:58):
Skyell, I have this. I'll be sending this to you
over the weekend, Okay, and I will I might I
may be able to get back on Tuesday.

Speaker 4 (47:07):
Okay, that's right because uh and by the way, a
number of former players will be honored before the game.
I'm told on Sunday that's homecoming game. Everson is not
one of those. He refused his invitation.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
I'm protesting ever since.

Speaker 4 (47:30):
Got another event event that he's got.

Speaker 3 (47:34):

Speaker 4 (48:10):

Well it's Jackson Arnold in Auburn, let's hope.

Speaker 6 (48:17):

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Oh you losers at South Carolina.

Speaker 3 (48:23):

Speaker 6 (48:25):
