Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings dropped preseason game #2 to the Patriots 20-12 at U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings offense set up four field goal attempts for Kicker Will Reichard, which he converted with ease. Sam Howell, Brett Rypien, and Max Brosmer all got reps at quarterback in the game, with Brosmer leading the team in total passing yards. Brosmer finished 15-of-27 for 156 yards and an INT. Running back Zavier Scott led the team in rushing for the second straight game, finishing with 28 yards on the ground. Wide Receiver Tim Jones led all receivers through the air with 5 receptions for 68 yards.  Defensively, Austin Keys lead the team in tackles with 7 on the day. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich break down the game, including: the players who stood out on Saturday afternoon, the need for a sense of urgency in the preseason, and the potential drama surrounding the Vikings season opener on Monday Night Football in a few weeks.  All of this, plus Kevin O'Connell's postgame press conference are included in this edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Hey, it's the postgame podcast. I'm Paul Allen, joined by
Pete Versus. We call Minnesota Vikings football during the regular
and postseason on FM one hundred point three KFAM and
the Minnesota Vikings Audio Network. In the preseason, Pete ben
Lieber and Tatum Everett and I we had the privilege
of doing what's known as the simulcast, where we got

(00:40):
a chance to call a couple of TV games, and
today was the final TV game for US and Fox
nine Patriots one twenty to twelve. Super sloppy game today,
really on both sides. Lots of penalties for the Vikings,
lots of mistackles. Preseason. I guess you can say, yeah,
it's preseason, but does that kind of like you you

(01:02):
can only go so far with.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
That, right, Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
I absolutely, Paul. The sloppiness, there's no excuse for that.
Even if you're a high school coach, you're not You're
not going to want to see that in any type
of game. This is a rehearsal. This is, you know,
a big part of whether or not the guys on
the field who are twos and threes can eventually someday

(01:25):
be ones. That has to be part of your forte right,
I'm dependable. I don't I don't make mistakes. I don't
make procedural mistakes. This isn't holding and things like that
where you could be outmatched or outmanned. These are just
simple getting the right guy in the huddle and all
and so not what you want it to be. However,

(01:46):
it was a mismatch pretty much all day with Vrabel
deciding to go with the with his starters and get
trying to get a point across after what we can
assume to be was a disappointing Wednesday and Thursday for
the New England Patriots trying to send him message to
his team. So yeah, it's you have to watch the
tape and take a good look at it. But it

(02:08):
was very hard to pinpoint a guy or two that
stood out today is you know, tough sledding well.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Second year Alabama kicker Will Riikert definitely stepped out, stepped
up today. Uh, he's six of six with field goals
in the preseason, he was four or four today. You know,
you don't want to end a game without a touchdown.
But outside a Riikert, if if you were able to
find some positives from today from a Viking standpoint, what
would they be.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
I think one of the things maybe Miles Price as
a returner. With ron Dale Moore getting injured here about
a week ago, you need someone to fill that spot.
And it's been a while since we here in Minnesota
have had a return guy. That's that's dangerous. But Miles
Price did a couple of nice things. I think coach

(02:56):
O'Connell spoke highly of him when we had him on
when we had him on the simulcast in the third quarter.
So he might have done enough today to make this
football team. And that's exciting. So that part of it. Yeah,
Riker Reker has just been so solid, Paul, it's almost
like you forget about him, right and and it's not
really fair to do, uh, but Riker's been solid. Price

(03:18):
I think maybe maybe got himself a you know, a
spot on this team today. And then outside of that,
I mean there's Zamaya Vaughan. I mean there's some there's
some guys that are I think are showing up that
you're gonna have to watch the tape, I think really
to take a deep look at these guys up front.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Let's hear what Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell had
to say about the eight point loss to the New
England Patriots.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
All Right, so, uh, you know, clearly want to compliment
the Patriots. What a week we had with them coming
in so much great work, uh for for our starters
and and guys that were trying to get prepared to
play in the right kind the setting, and we got
that Wednesday and Thursday. Want to credit Mike in the
whole Patriots organization for coming in here and getting great work.

(04:07):
Two complete days in pads, very limited extracurricular stuff that
we had to deal with, so it was really really positive.
And then obviously coming into today still an important opportunity
anytime we get a chance to play and compete, especially
here at home at US Bank Stadium, I want to
try to find a way to win a football game.
And we did a lot of things that we didn't

(04:28):
do last week when we were able to win. We
you know, had ten penalties, we lost the turnover battle,
we weren't very good on you know, the weighty downs.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
And across the board.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
I just thought, I know, we had a much smaller
roster than those guys today, but you know, it kind
of wore on us a little bit, but no excuses.
We still had a chance to win the game by
scoring and maybe tying it up and maybe even tying
the football game.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
But proud of our guys.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
For battling, just not proud of kind of the detail
and the execu Houston and some of the things that
starts with me. Got to make sure our entire roster,
all ninety one guys are ready to go, and we'll
have another opportunity on the road this next week at
Tennessee on Friday night. Just injury wise, Tyler Baddy had

(05:17):
a little bit of a wrist hand thing but kind
of checked out and it was about time for.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Him to come out of the game anyway.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
And then Henry Bird had a little ankle there that
got rolled up on a little bit.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
We'll evaluate him as.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
We go, but right back to work this next week
and it's going to be an important week for us.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Kevin, the way you divv'ed up Stabs at quarterback, was
your plan there to make the switch to being in
the second quarter or you decided based on the way
Sam had played in the first that it was time
to make.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
A move there.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Yeah, it was really not a matter of anything Sam
did or didn't do. It was kind of going into it.
I envisioned Max having the whole second half, but I
wanted to make sure that Rip wasn't the victim of
the clock there where all of a sudden his time
goes and I felt like, you know, obviously, you know
Sam going up against you know, basically for a lot
of his chunk of time and then went up against

(06:06):
their starting unit. You know, we we sat a lot
of guys today, so it was going to be tough.
But at the same time, I never really look at that.
I'm looking at guys just going out there and playing
physical and executing and you know, playing with detail and
throwing and catching in the past game. So obviously didn't
get off to the fast start we wanted.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
But but no, I didn't.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
That decision had nothing to do with, you know, any
kind of performance based decision. It was more about a
plan to try to get all three guys in a game.
And now we can obviously assess with four quarters next
week the best way to handle it.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
What do you think of Max and the two quarters
of work he gets in the second half.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Yeah, I think that you know, if if you know
a couple opportunities there, one explosive taken back by a
penalty to start a drive, and then we end up
third and a million, and and then you know, obviously
we had a chance on another go ball that was
right there, that you get one of those exploded, maybe
it kind of changes that second half.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
A little bit.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
But what I loved about Max is, you know, there
were some breakdowns up front, and maybe he couldn't progress
and read, you know, through concepts, but he plays with
very fast eyes and very rarely you know, puts the
ball at harm's way when he's doing it, which is
which is a unique trade. I think it was that
fourth down, you know, dagger throw to Jay Sean. I mean,

(07:25):
that's about as stacked against you as it can be,
and you know he throws that well well before you
know that pattern had declared. Just things like that that
he's done and shows consistently is why he's getting the
reps that he is. But I thought Brett Rippon did
some good things and and then obviously Sam had some
tough circumstances and we're you know, a couple couple plays

(07:46):
here here and there in that early group from maybe
sustaining drives a little bit more. But across the board,
I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of things we
can correct as a whole, across our whole team. But
you know, the quarterback tends to be the one that,
when mistakes are made around them, have the great impact
on your job. So we got to take a look
at it and really assess it, considering all that information.
Doing that number two job as a competitive situation right now,

(08:08):
I just view it right now as we've got to
we've got to learn about these guys. We've got to,
you know, try to see, you know, who's who's able
to go in there and function and execute the offense
when look, I'm well aware sometimes the circumstances aren't perfect.
You know, they're they're not throwing the ball to Justin
Jefferson and Jordan Addison and tj or you know, playing

(08:29):
behind our first offensive line, so you you take that
into account, but you're looking for just the traits out
of those three guys.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
And I think, you know, Sam had a really.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Good week of practice, and uh, you know, I think
Brett Rippen had a good week stepping in there, and
Max made some throws that were really impressive as well.
So there's a reason why we're playing all three of them.
As far as like what that means and you know,
the overall competition, I think I would just say it's
you know, it's it's still open and we're trying to
figure out what that room is going to look like

(08:59):
for the sea.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
But I do like all the players a lot on Sam's.

Speaker 6 (09:02):
Pick is not a ball he has to eat. I
mean it look like you tried.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Yeah, I think he was trying to throw it away
and just you know, you know, just because I think
you know those situations, you know you've got you know,
where your eligibles are, you can't quite maybe get all
the way out of the pocket, so you're trying to
find a way to get it at least towards somebody,
but get it to the chalk if you can, and
it just didn't get there.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Maybe somebody he thought, you know, you never know. I
got to watch it.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
It looked looked like he did a great job at
least evading and eluding what was immediate there, it felt like,
and then just tried to get it to the boundary
and didn't get it all the way there. So learning
lesson for sure, you know, especially when your defense is
kind of fighting like crazy, you know, to keep that
a seven point game for a while.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
And then they only.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Obviously got the two field goals in the second half
to kind of give us a chance on a day
where you know, I rattled off a few things earlier
that normally when you do those things, you do not
give yourself a chance to win.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
And we still had a chance, you know, to win.
And just one of credit Bryson even in the last play.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
I mean he was in the entire drive and and
just the finish to even attempt to go at the
ball right there was you know, it's it's a heavy
play for a young player to do when he's that
guest and tired at the end of a long drive.
So impressive by him.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Is the fast eyes. Is that something you can evaluate
or do you have to see him there going to
be able to kind of see that.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Yeah, I think it's just as guys are absorbing the offense,
you have to you kind of see, you know, the
normal rhythm and time of the play. So when things
get sped up in a good way, I always take
note of that, just because I know what we're coaching
and I know what we're asking guys to do with
their eyes, with their feet, location of the football, so
that those are the things that I think pretty consistently.

(10:49):
Once he had enough of the offense kind of under
his belt, you've you've you've started to see and we've
seen Sam do it as well. I mean, the same
dagger throw we threw in the game that Max threw.
If you remember the two minute drive on Thursday practice,
you know, Sam through it basically almost the same situation
and was able to hit it and move the team
and eventually, you know, you know, hit Price against the

(11:10):
zero pressure for the touchdown, you know, to finish the drill.
Really we ended up finishing it out from there to
get more plays. But so you've seen examples of it.
Rip probably has the most understanding and comfort in the system,
and that shows up too.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
So there's a lot of things.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
That are that are really positive from an evaluation standpoint,
where maybe sometimes it's got to go beyond the box score,
especially today.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Your impression of files Price so.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Far, Yeah, it for for a guy that you know
is learning the receiver position first and foremost. I love
how hard he plays, I love his play strength, and
then you just get the feeling that it's not too
big for him, just by how he's able to do
a lot of things at a pretty good level. So

(11:56):
there's where we're going to continue to see him, amongst
many others in that receiver room, get some opportunities here,
especially this week, and just want to continue to see
it play out. But yeah, he's he's a guy with
a ton of energy, you know, never has a bad day,
always has a smile on his face.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
But he's tough.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
He's got you know a lot of traits physically that
tend to you know, with our rules and kind of
how things tighten up a little bit in the NFL,
it bodes well for him having a skill set to
do that, learning.

Speaker 5 (12:25):
To learn a new way in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
How much has he appressed you with his knowledge and
command of the offense without getting all.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Of the rest, Yeah, I think it's one of those
things where you can get a feel for that, you know,
over I actually got to go to two of his
pro days because he got to throw, you know, when
he first arrived here, you know, from New Hampshire, and
we took the staff over there and got to see
him throw. That's part of the new rules that I
like with those pro days. You can see a guy

(12:53):
like that throw the ball, but you still you get
a chance to spend some time with him when the
other groups are kind of working out on those days
and you just immediately walk away, say, and the guy
loves football and he's a pretty high capacity thinker and
analyzer of things, and then you throw in some work
ethic and he's a guy that you know wears out,
you know, between him and JJ I don't know how.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
I don't know how you know Josh and Jordan are
sleeping at all right now?

Speaker 4 (13:18):
With how much those guys are late text early texts,
you know, they're first and last guys to leave the building.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
So get to the building, leave the building.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
So it's you'd like having guys like that in the room,
especially when they're young players. And I think they're feeding
off of each other a little bit with that as well.

Speaker 5 (13:34):
Getting the big return and giving up a couple and
then a couple of penalties.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
What did you make of the special Teams day as
a whole.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
Yeah, I told him, you know, I told them last night,
and then I told him again today when I knew
that we'd be playing some starters on the other side,
I thought the kicking game would have to be a
determining factor. And you know, I think you know, I
told him last night. I envisioned a big return would
change the game or maybe help us give it give
us a chance to win a game.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
And we got that big return. We just we gave
up a few as well, and we'll have to take
a look at that.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
But I thought, as a whole, we had a couple
kind of silly penalties running out of bounds kind of
on your own doing that we can get cleaned up.
But I thought, as a whole, between will Rykert making
you know, some big time kicks and and then some
physicality there and in the in the kicking game units
and then the return game was there were some positives
that I think we'll be able to take out of this.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
In your mind, are.

Speaker 6 (14:24):
The are the kickoff and punp return guys on this
team or is that TVD right now?

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (14:30):
I think it's I think I feel really good about
where Tye Felton's at from a skill set standpoint.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Now.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
We're just trying to get him as much as much work,
you know, coinciding right now with a lot of receiver
work as well back there. But he you know, that's
one of the reasons why he's here, is he I
believe he has that skill set and especially what that
kickoff play is turning into this year, so we want
to try to get him as much work. I still
think Tye and Zay have done some good things back

(14:58):
there as well. And as far as the punt return,
you know situation, We're trying to give as many guys
opportunities to go back there and first and foremost catch it,
you know, after making a good decision on you know,
in play fair catch or you know, stay away from it.
You know, it's a decision making and then catch standpoint.
And then what we are looking for somebody who can,

(15:20):
you know, try to make that first guy miss because
I feel really good about our ability of our roster
to block a lot of those plays with some of
the depth we have, and then it's just a matter of,
you know, can you make one miss and maybe run
through an arm tackle.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
And I think.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
We saw a little bit of that today, especially out
of Miles a little bit.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
But do you expect Justin to be back in practice.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
He's definitely gonna hopefully, you know, start doing more and more.
I can't say what that looks like from a practice
standpoint yet, but you know, Justin I've been really proud
of Justin, both his engagement in the meeting rooms and
I mean, you guys see him every day on the
practice field and what he's doing. You know that people
aren't seeing working to get back. I think he's also

(16:02):
making himself stronger and ready to sustain what very few
players do in this league, which is almost essentially play
every single snap for uh for the better part of
the whole season. So we're I think he's in a
good spot. I hope to get him, you know, back,
getting reps with that that first unit as soon as possible,
and that's kind of the plan right now.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Come back now?

Speaker 6 (16:23):
Is he trying to come back, like to bug you
guys in the staff to come back, or is this
sort of all hands on deck on the fact he
hasn't practiced since late July.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
I guess the best way to answer it is he
wants to get back as fast as possible. But at
the same time, Justin's going to make our football team,
so you know, there's not necessarily a reason to rush
him back other than having your best player you know,
working in with your offensive unit as we get CD
taking a little bit of more and more and obviously
get you know, our new line functioning together, and and uh,

(16:57):
you know JP at the running back spot, Jordan Mason
and and just the full unit as much as we can.
But I will say, you know, I don't know, and
I know you guys are doing a great job highlighting it.
But the camp Jordan Addison has had has been spectacular.
And he had two great days against some pretty good
cover players, you know, one of which Carlton Davis we
know well. And that was competitive and and jay A

(17:19):
is taking the next step on the grass for sure,
and it's been great to see.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
What did you make of your experience with the virtual
measurement system?

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Yeah, they're there.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
I know they they're going into it to try to
test it out, same as last week. I think my
biggest my you know, I'm just trying to find out
the fundamentals of it as much as anything.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
And and I.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Think the officials are getting great work at it, and
and uh, it seems to be functioning at a at
a good level. And and we'll take it on into
the season. But yeah, anything to get it right whatever
it was, let's just get it right.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
And that's where I really want to compliment the league
on that.

Speaker 6 (17:53):
On Jalen who I think went out on Thursday with
the jam finger, how's he doing.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
Yeah, it's it's more of a hand and and you know,
we're kind of completing the evaluation process of that, and
I'll keep you guys posted kind of, you know, wanted
to make sure we we let you know, any swelling
there go down and see really what exactly it's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
But he's he's in a good spot.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
You know, I definitely don't feel overly concerned about a
long term thing. But at the same time, we want
to make sure that you know, he can he can
hit the ground running and be healthy. And that's where
we'll make sure we know exactly what it is. Could
I get get him rehabbed and ready to roll?

Speaker 1 (18:32):
All right? So we had the privilege of having Kevin
O'Connell join us miked up from the sideline for the
entire third quarter. Now that started last year when we
were at Philadelphia, and and last year that there just
were different plays that were taking place, just more positivity
with some of the offensive and defensive plays. You know, Kevin, really,

(18:54):
with all due respect, he was doing his best on
radio and or TV to not be to glum or
not be too down on some things he was watching
in front of him. I mean, it's what a unique
opportunity to have not only the coach of the Year,
ragning coach of the Year, but a head coach telling
you what plays are coming. And there was this moment

(19:14):
where he's like, there's gonna be a deep ball from
Brosmer to Jayshawn Jones right in front of me, and
if we hit on this, it's gonna go for a touchdown,
all right. Jones breaks free, Brosmer over shoots him a
little bit. But then to hear Kevin coach up Jayshawn
Jones as he returned to the huddle, like my mam,
get your head back, your eye, yeah, your eyes. So

(19:37):
that was super unique and stuff. But even even Kevin
was just a little disappointed with what was taking place
on radio and TV.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
I love that exchange that we had there just from
the standpoint of the amount of detail that goes into
every single play. I mean, that's a pretty simple call.
As they got it lined up, Coach O'Connor was saying, hey,
if we get the right li look, we're gonna get
a double move, maybe take a deep shot. If now
we're gonna go to the run and you know this happens,
then this happens, then get your eyes back. There's a

(20:08):
million and one things that go into every single play,
and I think that you got a little bit of
insight to that. There's always something that you can coach,
there's always something that you can improve on every single guy,
on every single play. That's what he means when he's
talking about the challenge every day of getting better right

(20:29):
every day, every play, and guys who can mentally manage
that not check out, you know beyond mentally half the time,
to be able to critique yourself constantly and seek to
get better and then go out and execute it day
after day after day. Because training camp now is starting
to get long, right, it's been a while. It that

(20:52):
that's what makes you a pro. So it's the mental
side of the game, Paul, I think that matters as much,
if not more than the physical because at this level, well,
these guys are all physically gifted.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Now. When you played for the Vikings, you know, back
in the nineties, you had joint practices I believe against
the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints. Right, all right,
so you know things are different. Now. Obviously you guys
had two a day as a training camp, and you know,
you practice, you break, you come back and practice and
pads again. So you know the times are different, no doubt.

(21:22):
But the Vikings and Patriots Wednesday and Thursday had a
couple of very physical joint practices. Then your rest on Friday,
you play on Saturday. The point I'm making here is
in that first preseason game against Houston, it just was sharper.
The certain players had more poppuble to them. So when

(21:42):
you have those joint practices, chill for a day than play,
human nature gets to win two where bodies and minds
were probably more beaten down today than they were into
that Texans game.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Absolutely they were in on a ten thousand foot level.
You think about two good days practice Wednesday and Thursday,
guys like you know, Fayir Thomas showing up in those
practice days, and then you come here and say, all right,
we got to do this game. We're gonna get it
done well. On the other side, right, Mike Vrabel sitting
out with his squad saying, you know what, Tuesday and Wednesday,

(22:15):
Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday and weren't good enough. We're
gonna get the starters out there, right. He's making a point. Yeah,
So Friday night, you know, he's standing up in front
of that team saying, I know you guys aren't gonna
like it, but outside of A, B and C, everybody
here is playing.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
And when everybody's playing, that includes the third overall pick
in the twenty twenty four draft, quarterback Drake May, and
the fourth overall pick in this most recent draft, left
tackle Will.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Campbell, exactly right, and that sends a message, no question
about it. And then the Vikings make their decision out
off of a off of a Wednesday Thursday practice. But
then you put everybody on the field. But that's that's it, right.
Don't tell me how rough the waters are bringing the
ship in. If you're a two and you think you
should be a one, well this is a chance for

(23:01):
you to prove it. So no matter how you look
at it, there's always opportunity. And that's why these the
procedural penalties and some of those things are so disappointing
because these guys are getting a shot to really prove themselves.
And that's the last thing that you want to do.
If I don't make a team, it's I'm just not
fast enough, big enough, whatever. I can accept that. But

(23:21):
if I'm out there jumping off sides or you know,
too many men in the huddle, things like that, that's
gonna Those are so easily preventable, it's tough to swallow.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Now. Lastly, the Vikings final preseason game is Friday. It's
against the Tennessee Titans. Then they cut the roster down
to fifty three and established the practice squad. The farther
along we get in preseason, and I'm speaking for you
here because I think I'm dead right. How much more
excited do you get for that season opener?

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Yeah, it's not even close.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
Monday Night at Soldier Fields. It's Ben Johnson, new coach
for the Bears against Brian Flores defense and Johnson is
an elite offensive and play calling Mine O'Connell against Dennis Allen,
new defensive coordinator for the Bears, super well respected defensive mind.
And JJ McCarthy's debut in his home state.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
So many unknowns and and well, we'll dig deeply into
this as we get toward that Monday night game. But
how do you game plan, right, if you're Dennis Allen,
how do you game plan for an offense? You really
don't know what they're gonna want to do with the quarterback,
right for you know, for Kevin O'Connell, what's Dennis Allen
going to do? How is he going to change those things?
And then Ben Johnson, who's had a lot of success

(24:39):
against this Vikings team as an offensive coordinator for the Lions.
How much is he changing his offense?

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Right?

Speaker 3 (24:45):
How much of it's Dan Campbell? And so usually you've
got film and you you know, and you had you
know what the identities of teams are. They may get
the things a little differently, but the routes, the concepts,
those are going to stay the same. We have no
idea what those are. So this Monday night game is
going to be I don't know which way it's gonna go.

(25:06):
It could be sloppy, it could be a barn burner,
it could be a pitcher's duel. Everything's on the table,
and I'm just excited to see JJ McCarthy go back
to his hometown and then start his professional career on
a big stage and see if he's up to it.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
My man, great job as usual today. See you in Nashville.
That's Pete Bursich. And for Pete, I'm Paul Allen. New
England beat Minnesota in the second preseason game, twenty to twelve.
The next postgame podcast originates from Nashville, Tennessee after the
final preseason game. Thank you very much for listening, and
