Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
Michael Bumpus.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Playfake, go to roll right, jumps it off into the right,
flat to Michael Bumpers, who bounce us off of one
tackler gets inside the forty down of the forty five.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Yard line powered by seahawks dot Com.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Matt pumpfake's looking at the gold line. He throws it
into the end zone. Touchdown, Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas
with a.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Diving catching the end zone.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
A ten yard touchdown, receptions for Bumpers, and the kid
out of Washington State has found himself.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
A place on this team.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Now, here's your host, Nasa Chobie.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk. We are broadcasting
live from the Seahawks Podcast Studio, presented by Sony, the
official partner of the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Bump In Man, I'm not gonna las to you man,
I'm still hurt.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
It's officially done.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
I'm still hurt.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
I you know, I'm mister positive on every one of
these podcasts, and you listen to us for the last
five or six years. I'm mister positive. I want to
speak things into existence. Yep, and we were discs so close.
We were this six way Arizona, Arizona, Arizona, Arizona. I know,
I know, I know. You can't rely on other people,
But for to go down the way it went down.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
Why can't you rely on other people? Sometimes you gotta
rely on other people.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
This is life, that is true. That usually I like
to you know, like anyone else. That's probably what's wrong
with me. I want to do it all by myself. Anyway,
it was for Seahawk fans. It was death by a
thousand paper cuts. We know needed to happen in Seahawks
took care business beat the Bears. The easiest thing was
we needed the Rams to go down.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
And you watch that game and you were almost there,
so close, you were almost there. I let's let's just
talk real quick. Let's talk about that last play, because
that's what everyone's talking about. Set it up. The Cardinals
come on back. It's first in goal. Okay, first and goal.
I believe there's thirty seven seconds left in the game.
You're feeling pretty good at Seahawk fans. They score touchdown,

(01:48):
the game's over. What happened on that last play.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Well, they jacked up and through the dang football.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
Okay, before the ball of snaps about forty two seconds left,
you're on the five yard line. Run the football and
like you mentioned, we're talking off and make the Rams
burn that dang time out. Make them use it right.
But no, you run the football supposed to set it up.
Instead of running the football. You get into shotgun formation.
You got a two by two look and the Rams

(02:13):
are bringing heat. Man, you got pressure up the b
from the Kyler Murray's left side, you got pressure from
the nickel from the right side, and you have one
on one. You're manned up, which isn't bad. You're going
to your best receiver, trade McBride, who's the tight end.
I think he's second when it comes to all tight ends.
When it comes to yards. Browers might have more than him,
but you're going to him. I don't mind the decision

(02:33):
if you're throwing the football, but first things first, run
the dang ball on first down.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Run the dang ball. You got two time out yourself.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
So McBride gets an outside release, sticky coverage, and Kyler
Murray just zifts that thing in there.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
McBride was not ready for that football. It snuck up
on him.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
It's happened to me before ball sneak up on you,
hits him in the helmet, pops up, and then a
guy who wore the jersey for Seattle for a few weeks,
Hello Witherspoon.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Comes up with the interception, and that is all. She wrote.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
That was tough to see poor decision making. I think
down there on the five yard line, run the dang ball.
You got two tight miles, the Rams got one. They're
gonna burn it. Set things up like, let's get this done.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
I was at a bar enjoying a nice little date
night with my wife. Doesn't happen a lot during the season.
There you go and bump. I was crushed. Me an,
entire bar of people were absolutely crushed. I mean the
air just went out of the building. And then you
knew after that, you're like, okay, we'll be good. We
just seed all and then just need some help. It
didn't happen, But I will say this, you know, I

(03:33):
just said it before. I'm gonna spend some things positively.
Heading into Sunday, the Seahawks are looking for their first
ten win season since twenty twenty. You know, but they've
had that happened nine times in thirteen seasons, so hoping
that happens this year in coach McDonald's first year. They
could also tie the best road record in franchise history
at seven and one. They could also tie the longest
road winning streak at six games, and we've talked about

(03:53):
it all week on your shows, different shows. Coach McDonald
with a win on Sunday, will patch Chuck Knox and
Mike Conggrian for the most wins my first year Seahawks
head coach with ten, they could finish four and two
in the division. That's obviously Hall of fame company that
you're in there. It stings and it burns me to
my core, my soul. But the Seahawks are not going
to the playoffs. But there was a lot of positive
heading a Sunday. I know some of us aren't ready

(04:14):
to hear those positives yet, but it is. It's a
fact of life. As you said, Seahawks did not get
it done, but they are playing the team that they
would have to beat regardless in any situation.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
The Los Angeles Rams. What's on tap? What's on tap?
The Rams ten and six?

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Unfortunately, NFC West champions just again, even me just coming
out of my mouth.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
That just champs. Oh man.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
This team was one and four, bump start rough. There
was conversations. If I remember, I'm old enough to remember,
there's conversations about whether they should get rid of Cooper Cup,
Matthew Stafford all that cleaning chip is McVeigh gona come back.
The season's over at one and four, they rebound. They
finished the year nine and two, okay, and they obviously

(05:00):
have some big wins. To beat the Vikings, they somehow
beat the Bills, another one that just like man out
to shoot out to beat the nine. And then the
last three games haven't been pretty. Twelve six over the
forty nine Ers, nineteen nine over the Jets, thirteen to
nine over the Cardinals, bump, and we kind of talked
about it. We don't need to go through the whole thing.
But the Rams game, I'm just I'm just hurt.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah, man, it was.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
It was a tough game, low scoring game there in
Los Angeles, and just didn't get it done. It's not
enough to get her done. A positive for mcbridy finally
scores a day touchdown.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
I'm a man.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
All these yards and no touchdowns, So if there's a positive,
I can take for the Cardinals. Good for McBride, because
you know, I root for the player, not the the organization.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
I like seeing success. Good for him. But no, you
had a chance to win it.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
The Cardinals had a chance to win it, and you
ran the football on first and five.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
It hurts it.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Should have they should have done that. I mean mcridy
alluded to twelve per sevens. I'm sorry, football the ball
first and five. Should have ran it. See my mind,
my mind can makes sensive it. It's like, why would
you not run the full ball? Doesn't compute, It doesn't compute.
I mean, man, you talked about Trey. He was twelve receptions,
one hundred and twenty three yards and touchdown. Unfortunately, the
one that we really needed and we didn't get it
is what it is devastating. New Seahawks aren't in the playoffs.

(06:13):
But like we said, there's a lot of you know,
things to look at. We'll quickly kind of look at
this head to head comparison bump. The Seahawks are right there.
Hopefully they're going to finish both at ten and seven.
You look at the offensive ranks, how the Seahawks are
trying to finish on a good note their fourteenth ranked
on the year, averaging three to thirty one per game,
thirtieth rush off fense, seven pass offense to thirty eight
per game, twenty one points per game.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
That's nineteenth.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
For the Rams are seventeenth overall three hundred and twenty
six yards a game rush offense or twenty third averaging
one hundred and five yards per game pass offense two
hundred and twenty one yards. That's fourteenth in the league.
And lastly, they are twentieth in points, averaging twenty one
point four points a game. Other than that Bills game,
they have been lighting the world on fire offense.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
No, they've been. They've been steady. Man. They've dealt with.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
Some injuries and they got healthy and I'm trying to
figure themselves out, but they've won ball game. So tipic
cap defends simply, the Hawks are thirteenth overall, eighteenth against
the run, seventh against the past, tenth when it comes
to points allowed. The Rams of twenty sixth overall, twenty
fourth against the run, twenty first against the pass, and
fifteenth when it comes to points allowed per game twenty
two point three to have thirteen interceptions, and they're plus

(07:18):
seven when it comes to the turnover differential.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
This is gonna be a good game.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
It's gonna be a tough one, even though I know
McVeigh is alluding that he's gonna sit a bunch of guys, right,
But I don't care. You come out and you play
football and smack these dudes with that question.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
You're still in your division.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
You've lost three games in a row to these guys,
and two years in a row losses to them probably
cost you the postseason. So I don't think there's the
guys downstairs don't need any extra motivation.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I can promise you that.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
I can promise you that we're Badcasting from the Seahawks
Podcast Studio, presented by Sony, the official partner of the
Seattle Seahawks. And obviously there is a long, long history
between these two teams. No your history all time series
noted up at twenty seven. Rams have the edge in
the playoffs at two and oh. The Seahawks are two
and three in the last five matchups, but have lost

(08:05):
the last three games and have actually lost six of
the last eight.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Against these Rams.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Goodness, wow, a lot of tough conversations we're happening so
far to get this thing started. The last game against
these Rams was a heartbreaker, and again one we can
point to is one of the reasons unfortunately this team
is not in the playoffs. The Seahawks were leading thirteen
to three at halftime. I remember this was right after
the Bills game. I remember being in the booth with
you and Moyer. We're talking about we're feeling good. Okay,

(08:31):
oh this defense, Okay, who are these guys that showed up?
They're stopping the run. Ernest Jones is into like everything
is feeling kind of good. Rams come out. They go
eleven plays, seventy five yards, touchdown, drive open the second half.
Next possession, the Hawks go, drive down the field all
the way the Rams six yard line, first and goal,
and then it's a fourteen point swing pick six run
back one hundred and three yards. And that really was

(08:52):
the one that you look at for the Seahawks the
day that really flipped the script of that game. The
Seahawks go three and now then our guy Cody White
man big ups. Coddy White blocks a punt. Cody and
the Seahawks are right back in business.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
Fortunately, another interception. I know there's a lot of people
out there that are There's a lot of Geno conversation
that can be had this offseason. But as we know,
a lot of those interceptions are not on that man.
This was one of them. Aj Barner gets held, Yeah,
doesn't get called. Unfortunately he's intercepted. But Gino leads to
Seahawks all the way back crazy drive at the end
of the game. Eight play seventy three d seventy three

(09:24):
yard drive anyone of the fourteen yard touchdown on JSN.
He had a big fourth and five completion on the
Rams sideline Keith that drive going. Seahawks tie the giving up,
they go to overtime and man, another one lost opportunity
to see us are two opportunities to get a first
down and third and one fourth and one they don't
get it. And then defensively, I think one that Reek
would hope that he would have got and made a

(09:46):
million plays this year, and he's had a really good
season despite what some people will say.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
But unfortunately he just kind of stood there.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
He didn't really attack the football, and that would have
set the Seahawks up.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
It would have been a game winning field goal because
both had a possession. Didn't go your way.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
The Seahawks dominated four twenty four to three sixty six
yards out rush Hill one O seven to sixty eight,
one time in possession, but couldn't overcome the three costly turnovers.
And I think moving forward, this rival was just heating
up right because everyone's been Everyone keeps wanting to say
McVeigh is gonna retire?

Speaker 1 (10:15):
How long?

Speaker 4 (10:15):
How many years we keep hearing that? Last three at least,
I don't know what's gonna happen. He's still there and
they still got talented guys, and they keep finding ways
to continue to win. The last two years. They were't
supposed to be good. They're figuring it out. As much
as it pains me to say so, I think this
rival is just getting started. But I promise you that
the coach McDonald led teams this is gonna this is
gonna shifts as this thing moves forward, and hopefully it

(10:36):
starts shifting on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
But we will still take a look around the NFC
West what's the.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Word and the Seahawks, So the NFC West champs.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Again, what's the word in the West? On Hawk talk?

Speaker 5 (10:53):
Well, it's all decided in the NFC West. Unfortunately, the
Rams will uh will win this thing. They're ten and seven,
but the Hawks, obviously playing this weekend, could end with
the same record. But right now they are nine and seven,
the Cardinals seven and nine, and the forty nine Ers,
who were picked to win this division by most people
at the bottom of this thing, six and ten. It
was a slow, painful death for the Seahawks. After losing

(11:15):
to the Vikings, they lost control of their own faith.
The easiest scenario was the Hawks needed the Cardinals to win,
but as we know, that did not happen. But to
stay alive, the Hawks needed a lot of help and
got it from almost nobody. They said, we're gonna take
this day off. Hawks, you've decided it already. And to
make it worse, each team the Seahawks needed to win

(11:35):
loss in heartbreaking fashion.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
It was like it was make justss the weekend. It
was a stressful weekend.

Speaker 5 (11:41):
The Broncos lost to the Bengals and ot The Packers
fought all the way back from seventeen fourth quarter deficit,
only to lose by two, allowing a game ending first down.
Then the Falcons, with Michael PENNINGX at QB, converted on
two fourth and longs to tie the game, but missed
a game winning field goal and lost to the Commanders
in overtime. This was tough because it almost like you're

(12:01):
moving on to the next scenario, like, all right, that
didn't happen. We got this one, all right, well we
need something else to happen, and it just didn't happen.
And then at some point you just accepted it. It's
like you just you just sat down and drank whatever
you're drinking water, maybe an adult beverage, and said this
is it and that's what happens when you rely on
other people.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Yeah, and it's again, like we said, it's frustrating, but
this this felt especially cruel because again I said this
to everyone.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Listen, if the Cardinals just got boat raced in the
first quarter, you're like, you.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Know what, man, this wasn't accepting it, and you accepted early.
It's a different vibe. But to get let down in
the way and then like of course, the way my
brain's wired again, I'm always thinking there's still a chance,
knowing that there's going to need to be like seven
other things that would have to happen this Sunday. But
every game I was at running errands, so doing stuff
I got home and then I would kind of like
open my phone. I'd be like, oh, hold on a minute,

(12:54):
the the Packers come back or the that's what I
look at it. Oh, just to get let down, yep.
Then I go away, probably put my daughter to bed,
like peak out the room. Oh Michael Pennock's fourth and ten,
Oh touchdown, okay, look out again, oh Missfield.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
I mean just like every just a tease. It was
brutally uh.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
And then the one game that really didn't have any
playoff implications was the Lions in the forty nine ers.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
We won't spend a lot of time on it.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
There.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
It was back and forth game.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
Five straight touchdowns to start the game, the Lions, they'd
create a bunch of turnovers.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Second half, they'd win. Forty thirty four. Golf had a
great day.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Passed over three hundred yards, three touchdowns, Jremior Gibbs over
one hundred and seventeen yards, eighteen carries in a touchdown,
and then Jamison Williams, Sam Laportamn Ross Saint Brown all
had touchdowns. Kirby Joseph two interceptions, Rock Purdy another good game,
another brockish game. Over three hundred yards passing three touchdowns,
but had a couple of big turnovers.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
So yeah, definitely interesting.

Speaker 4 (13:47):
The Niners first losing season for them since twenty twenty,
first time they missed the playoffs since that same year,
and the first time they didn't advance an NFCY title
game since twenty twenty.

Speaker 5 (13:56):
Yeah, the Niners in the Rams were both of the
same teams right in the sense that when they are healthy,
they're a good ball team. But they both got hit
with the injury bug, and fortunately for the Rams, unfortunate
for the Seahawks. They found a way to get healthy
and do their thing. So as the forty nine ers
has dug themselves in such a big hole, there was
no getting out of there. And what's crazy about the

(14:17):
brock party situation is now, now, what are you gonna
do with brock Purty. If you would have played like
crap this game, it would have been easy for management
to really think about moving on.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
But we're looking at the QB market out there.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
Ain't gonna be too much out there, and I don't
know where they should have what at least a top
twelve pick. I would say in the the draft this year,
are you getting drafted?

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Guy?

Speaker 5 (14:36):
Are you going with Purty, that's gonna be interesting. And
then Ricky Pierre saw a good story of the guy
who was shot before the season started.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
He's he's gonna be just fun.

Speaker 5 (14:43):
When Brandon and Ayu gets back, Man, we gotta get
ready to go because the Niners ain't going nowhere. And
then Lynch says, Shanahan's get to go, So stop talking
about firing Shanahan.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
So it'd be pretty already get fired after the three
straight Edge title.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
I'm just saying, you know, the streets was talking they
these fans, Twitter and all that stuff will say crazy
things at times.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
Yeah, you know the thing about them too, obviously they're
they're good football team and it's gonna be a dogfight.
Every team is gonna be in this, even the Cardinals
next year in the NFC West. So that's an interesting thing.
The one thing I did hear a lot about was
talking about Dan Campbell and they're like, hey, why'd you
play your starters? Yeah, And the good thing is I've
kind of heard different head coaches speak about this, and
finally you want to talk about like educating some people.
Campbell spoke about it. I heard Bill Belichick and Hardball was.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Talking about it.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
Guys, it can only make x amount of people inactive exactly.
So just because you have stuff wrapped up, what are
you gonna do? Sit how many guys?

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (15:32):
And then on top of that bump, what are you
gonna say other than quarterback?

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Right?

Speaker 1 (15:36):
I understand stating a quarterback obviously, but are you gonna.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Be like, hey, you six over here, We really value
you guys, and we are screwed if you if you
get hurt the rest of y'all guys, I know we
start twenty two.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
Y'all gotta play. Sorry, you know what I mean. That's
how it is.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
They they he ain't gotta say that you in that
locker room, you know, yeah, but Jared, sit down, Aman,
sit down.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
I'm reported.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
But it's not college. There's nothing.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
You know, they're not deep, but they know in that
locker room, you know, I know it's untouchable. I mean,
I just it's the message. You gotta go. You gotta play, guys.
Twenty two people go to keep the field.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
You do gotta play.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
It's people think that they're just this team is like
ninety deep. No, it's fifty three active on that sideline.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Still guy right.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Out there in places becually we're twenty five guys field
this you's gonna be gunner.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
You're gonna be R two. You're gonna be the returner.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
You're gonna play receiver.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
I know, yep, I know you're running back. But listen,
oh man.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
Well that's the world. Let's get back to these Los
Angeles rams. Man up, Hey, who you got?

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Who you got?

Speaker 1 (16:36):
You know what time it is? Man up Man up? Brother,
Man up man up?

Speaker 4 (16:40):
On Hawk Talk Broadcasting Life in the Seahawks Podcast CDIRE,
presented by Sony, the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks. Well,
normally we start with the quarterback, and we've been talking
about Matthew Stafford. You've had a lot of conversations about
him over the years. He continues out to the pressive resume.
He's tenth in NFL history when it comes to passing yards, touchdowns,
ninth and attemps, completions.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
All that stuff.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
He's about to go over sixty thousand yards. But apparently
it's not going to be on SID. We know this
guy though, No, he's pretty good. The other guy though, Yes,
Jimmy Garoppolo.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Me g back in the hood.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Here we go.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
Jimmy g led the forty nine ers to Super Bowl
back in twenty nineteen that feels like ages ago, man,
and back to the NFC title game in twenty twenty one.
Outside of those years, though he could never stay healthy.
He's suddenly had one season where he played in double
digit games and those were both those years I mentioned,
or one other season I should say twenty twenty two
he played.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
In eleven games. So he's been he's been hurt a
lot of the time.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Went down to Vegas after things didn't end well in
San Francisco, goes down to Vegas, started six of seven
games before being benched for Aid and O'Connell. So that
was kind of the crossroads for him in his career.
And those games he won won ten for one sixty
nine two undred five yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
He's taken zero game reps for the Rams this season,

(17:50):
so Jimmy g we we kind of know what the
what the book is on him.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Ye, right, you make him throw to the outside outside.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
That's a Moyer stat right there. Paul Moyer is the
first one to point that out. Yeah, make them throw outside.

Speaker 5 (18:02):
The numbers we know and their offenses are similar when
you look at the Rams and r Niners not. I'm
sure they call things differently and every concept doesn't match up,
but they want to misdirection. You go across the middlefield
and get their playmakers the ball.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
Go get it done. This is a guy, and you
need to force some turnovers. Again, you're out there, you're
playing for something, You're strapping up your professional football player,
and they're going to do just that. So hopefully see
Us can get after Jimmy g and create a couple
turnovers there.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
Go get them to talk about our quarterback.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
Now, you're not making the playoffs, obviously, but Gino can
still check some things off on his list. He can
become the first quarterback in franchise history to finish the
season where they complete the percentage of seventy percent or higher.
Ads of today, his completing percentage on the season is
seventy point two percent. He already holds the record at
sixty nine point eight which was set in twenty twenty two.
Russell Wilson previously held the record at sixty eight point

(18:51):
eight percent. Of Gino, where to do that? I am
interested to hear the critiques. There's always gonna be critiques,
right of course, But for him. To have that type
of season when he throws the football almost more than
anybody in the league and still have that high completion
percentage I think is impressive. We all know the struggles
that have been there with that offensive line. He also
needs one hundred and eighty six yards to set the

(19:13):
career high in passing yards this season with forty two
hundred and eighty three yards. That would also break the
franchise record for passing yards in a season, which he
set in twenty twenty two. He's also within striking dishes
of the single season franchise record in attempts twenty two
of them things needed, in completions thirteen needed. We already
know that he he needs three hundred yard game to

(19:34):
be in sole possession of the franchise record for single
season for three hundred yards with six passing up. Russell
Wilson's crazy when you look at Gina on paper and
see all that he can accomplish this year and feel like, well,
he's probably not respected the way that he should be
across the league and especially in his hometown.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
He's still got some things he can.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Do, no question about it.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Obviously, it's the interceptions which you can't ignore, but you
can't ignore all the positives.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
You can't have it both ways.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
You can't be like this is the only thing, but
when people say here those other things, we can say
that's I mean, it's just it's inconsistent. So he will
have to deal with some guys though, the Rams, Jared
Verse and oh yeah, Brad and Fisk. It's been a
problem them young bulls. He yeah, Verse, I'm worried about Verse.
Long term. He's a long term problem. He's got the

(20:21):
eighth highest pressure percentage across the NFL after seventeen weeks.
So he's got eleven TFLs, four and a half sacks,
eighteen QB hits and you look, get fists. He's got
forty three tackles, eight sacks, tendfls. Those two together long
term problems causing a lot of issues. So you ain't
even mention Kobe Turner neither. I know, you know, like
them dudes is ready to do. I talked to JB.

Speaker 5 (20:39):
Long, the play by play guy in the radio for
the Rams, and he said, this group collectively is better
than when Aaron Donald was on there. Honestly, Aaron Donald
is one of the greatest and the greatest defensive linement
of all time. But as a group, these guys are better.
They got better, and they lost the greatest of all time.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
That's I don't like hearing that, JV Like, I don't
like here, ma man.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
Unfortunately JB been right a lot of times, so I
also don't like that for real. Well, let's look at
the running backs. Another one we thought we'd see Kyen Williams.
We still might see him. Obviously, he's probably gonna suit up.
He's really become a force of the Rams. Back to
back one thousand yard seasons, career highs this year and attempts,
rushing yards, touchdowns, tied for second in the NFL with
fourteen rushing touchdowns third in the NFL and rushing yards

(21:20):
only behind Secone Barkady and Derrick Henry. Kyrin also was
second the NFL and rushing first downs with eighty five.
Last time out against the Seahawks, he didn't have a
great game. I mean he was okay, twenty two carries
sixty nine yards, one reception for twenty six yards, so
Seahawks definitely helped him in check. But you know, if
we don't see a lot of Kien, we're going to
see Blake Korm. Now Blake Korm stand out running back

(21:40):
at the University of Michigan. Two time All American, one
national title, twenty seven touchdowns a senior year, set a
Michigan record. Third round pick for the Rams in twenty
twenty four, hasn't had a lot of burn the season.
Fifty six carries one hundred ninety seven yards, and John
McVay talked about it, We're gonna see a lot of
Blake Korm. So another opportunity for the Seahawks to continue
to in this season on a strong note, shutting down

(22:01):
the run like they've done honestly since the game against
the Rams.

Speaker 5 (22:04):
Yeah, they just gave up so much to start the
season that you look at that thirtieth against the run
and you scratch your head. But they have performances. I
think that buck one seventy five was that against New England.
I think they gave up. That's gonna hurt. But Korm's
a good running back. He's just playing behind the third
best running back in the game right now, so we'll
see what he does. HOPEU they shut him down. To
talk about their receivers, Cooper Cup and Pook and the CooA.

(22:26):
They got two of the best weapons in the game.
I just mentioned him. Cup in the coop went healthy.
Cooper Cups one of the best to do it. He's
from Davis High School over here in Eastern Washington, then
went to Eastern Washington High School, set a whole bunch
of records over there, and he's one of the best.
He had one of the best seasons we've ever seen
out of receiver. You win that triple Crown and what

(22:46):
one hundred and forty five receptions, nineteen hundred yards, sixteen touchdowns.
That is something special. Jamar is gonna win the Triple
Crown this year, I believe. But it's rare that we
see that. I think only three receivers have done it.
Think it was him, Jerry and Randy Moss were the
only three years before that. Jamar might joined that in
that group. This year he was a first team All Pro.
They had five MVP votes. I told myself when he

(23:07):
had that season, if a receiver doesn't get it with
this season, he ain't never gonna get it. So receivers,
good luck. Team man just played for the love of
the game in that battle. But since that season, he
struggled to be healthy man. He only played thirty three
at fifty regular season games, but typical Cooper Cup style,
he had a big game last time he played the Seahawks,

(23:27):
and he's had a solid season overall. Though the last
time he played the Hawks eleven reception one hundred and
four yards. On this year sixty seven receptions for seven
hundred and ten and six touchdowns. He's missed four games.
Not a bad year for guy who's battling some injuries.
And you watch the film, he can still move. He's
a great blocker, he has good hands, he fills the game.
Still one of the best in the game. But the

(23:48):
numbers are going to reflect that.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
No, Cooper's dangerous every timing steps on the field.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
And while we're talking about Eastern you want to give
a shout out to one of your boys who broke.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
Some recer sho is something less goal. My guy just
left the Florida to train for the NFL. But as
the single season record for receptions like one hundred and
twenty or something like that beat Cooper Cup, I think
he's like second in touchdowns, He's pretty much second and
everything else behind Coler Cup.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
So makes sense by Afton Chisholm. Good luck, Go do
a thing, bro.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
We'll see you on Sunday, hopefully for sure another danger
shepperend for this group poking akoa, but burst onto the scene.
Obviously one of the best rookie seasons ever in NFL history,
set a ton of records this year. He missed five
games to start, but he's just ten yards away from
another one thousand yard season.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
Crazy.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
Since Week eight he missed five games. Yeah, that saw
some justin Jefferson stuff. Last year ten games thousand yards
as well.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
Despite missing those five games, he's just ten yards away.
Like I said, But since we ate, he's first and
yards after the catch five hundred and one, tied for
first and receiving first downs tecond reception seventy five, and
second in receiving yards at nine fifty five. Last game
against Seahawks, though he was trying to square up, you
know what I mean, bobbing, and weaven not as much
one reception eleven yards, ejected after trying to punch out Tyrell.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
Dotson, and we appreciate you for that.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Yeah, I don't know what happened there, but he didn't
play and it didn't hurt.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
He says, something. Puka's too too calm of a guy.
Dotson got under that skin.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
It was weird, but he did get thrown out, so
the Seahawks locked him up.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
When he gets for eleven yards, he's a problem. We
know it.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
The first game against he burst on the scene against
the Seahawks and he went off that game, So we
know Pooka can do. Obviously, he spent a little bit
of time at b or Du before We're going to
byu on the year. Seventy nine receptions, nine and ninety yards,
three touchdowns. Also, I got a couple of other impact
guys tow two our albums, DeMarcus Robinson.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
That's what we don't.

Speaker 5 (25:34):
See between DeMarcus and DeMarcus had the gray one hand
catch and in overtime.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Right, yes, he did.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
Last twenty receptions four thirty three, seven touchdowns. He's actually
leading them in touchdowns. I was surprised to see twenty
eight receptions, seven touchdowns. We know what he likes to do.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
So yeah, no, you're right, these are the guys that
the Seahawks really should be looking into. Hawks have the
seventh best passing defense in the game, so hopefully Riek
one Devin Witherspoon, Kobe Bryan, Julian Love and high not
get some interceptions.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Also shout out to Spoon going to the Pro Bowl.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Yeah, let's go Spoon.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
But it's so messed up that I can't just be
happy for Spoon because now I got to get upset.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
How and I don't even I don't want to cuss
on this thing.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
Don't do it.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
But how can Leonard Williams not be in the Pro Bowl?
This is madness?

Speaker 3 (26:17):
You know what.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
I blame the fans outside of Seattle for not recognize it,
because I know, dang well, the coaches took.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Care Leonard, the players to caro Leonard.

Speaker 5 (26:27):
You needed that third the fans outside of this region
of vo for him, and they didn't. He had one
of the greatest games in a defensive lineman could ever
have this year. Seven seven sacks. I'm looking at Jaysen Carter. No,
excuse me, nine sacks. I'm looking at Jalen Carter having
a great year. Four and a half sacks, okay, four
and a half sex.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
The thing that I don't understand too is Leonard is
we know the impact he has on the game outside
of sacks and QB hits and all that stuff. But
for anyone who's just looking at it the flashy numbers,
he's the best at He got the flash so how
I mean, it just doesn't compute. Dexter Lloins absolutely earned it.
We saw that first and foremost. But yeah, he'll probably

(27:06):
get in as an alternate. He will, But that's the principle.
The thing the same messed up anyway. Shout out to Leo,
Shout out to Spoon, Pro Bowl, go do anything.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
Big ups people making a case for JSM. We're gonna
talk about him right now. If he were in the AFC,
he'd be a Pro Bowler for show. You got Zay
Flowers over there with a thousand yards to four touchdowns.
He has more than him. It's just you're over here
with the best receivers in the game. Justin Jefferson raam
a monra like mcglourin had what twelve touchdowns. He's another

(27:35):
conference he's in. But let's talk about JSM.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Man.

Speaker 5 (27:37):
He became the tenth player in franchise history to have
a thousand yards instead a single season career high and
catches with ninety six four more. He ties the record
for the year in one season with one hundred and
he gets one hundred and one, then he.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
Passes up our guy, Tyler Lockett.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
He also has eleven hundred yards, eleven hundred and twenty
one yards and six touchdowns. So he also needs one
hundred and four yards past Steve Largin for fifth place
on Seattle single season receiving yards list with twelve hundred
and twenty five, and he's one hundred and eighty three
to set the single season franchise mark as thirteen hundred
and four set by DK Metcalf. I mean he could

(28:13):
do it because we've seen one hundred and eighty out
of him this.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
Year against that same team.

Speaker 5 (28:17):
Since team right, well, it'll be tough and I think
he'll definitely pass up Tyler Lockett. Yeah, and probably I
could see him with a good game passing up at
large and as well.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
No, I think everything's in front of Jason. He's had
an amazing year and it's just kind of toper the
icework for him. We've seen that. It's really cool to
see all the different guys that took a huge step
JSN Derek Hale.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
So, I mean there's definitely a lot of ups to
look for the Seahawks and then his receiver made. DK
also has a lot to play for.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
He's just sixty one yards away for his fourth career
one thousand yard season. He needs seven receptions past d
jack for sixth places on Seattle's all time receptions list
with four to forty two one touchdown. Also passed Daryl
Jackson for fourth place on Seattle's all time receiving touchdowns
with forty eight.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
He's got ten exposed to play essentially.

Speaker 4 (28:58):
Every single game he's played in this year, nine hundred
and thirty nine yards, four touchdowns. I'm hoping DK gets
it because this is always cool. It'll be another year
where we have back to back one thousand yard receivers.
For all the heat this offense has gotten, and obviously
at times they didn't play the level that they're capable of.
But there's a lot of good stories, a lot of
different guys balling out, so a lot to play for.
Still bump and I'll kind of let you kick off

(29:20):
path of victory and kind of let us know why
the Seahawks, Yeah, the playoffs are on line, but why
they're not just gonna go down there lay down path
the victory.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
After forty five waits for the staff Plata Vicky puts
it down.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
That kick is away.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
If that kick is gone, good, say off Quinn, it's gone.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
It's a pass to victory on Hawk Talk.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
All right, man, we know they're not going to the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (29:44):
Okay, last opportunity to play in twenty twenty four. Doesn't
matter who's on the field for the rounds. Throw your
water boy out there, he can get it. Don't matter
Los Angeles. You line up the hoss, gotta get it done.
If they do, like you mentioned earlier, that'll be ten wins.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
Man. That'll be the record for the most swins by.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
First year head coaching franchise history, passing up the great
Chuck Knox and Mike Comgren as well as Pete Carroll.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
So yeah, there's something.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
To play for individually for Mike McDonald, but the team
is a part of that too. You want to be
a part of history and just for pride. Man, you
don't go on a football field and not give it
you all.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Especially at this level, and I mean this in a
serious way. You run the team in two thousand and eight,
that wasn't a great season, not very good. But did
people just say we only want a couple of games.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Just phone it in. Nah, this is your job.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
There's professional lives out there right.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
Like, I don't know, man, It just sometimes they hear
that stuff and I go, come on, guys, that's crazy.
They got stuff to play for. They're dropping it up.
What I want to see offensively, I want to see him
get rhythm. I want to see him score touchdown in
the first drive. I'm tired of people talking about this stat.
Let's go down there, score touchdown the first game. It's
this entire season, so it's over that.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
At least sixteen Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
I think it's since last year or so.

Speaker 4 (30:53):
I mean again, I want them to see them right
down the field, go ahead and score, take care of
the football, protect you know, Smith run the football at
I think can still happen.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Again.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
We don't care who's playing for the Rams. They got
a good players on defense and a lot of those
guys will still be out there. So I want to
see the offense kind of get going early.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
That's let's find a way for Gino, DK, Jayson and
Tyler to set some records.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
They hit those incentives.

Speaker 5 (31:15):
That's another thing, man, the contracts, man, they're incentives all
in that thing. I guarantee you I Gino gets the
franchise record for yards in the season paper, I guarantee
if JASN gets the single reception record paper.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
So they got some to play for too, financially. You
want to see that.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
Yeah, no, And it's a cool thing because you heard
Mike McDonald talk about it. He's not gonna do anything
crazy to get these guys. He's incentives. He's gonna call
the game. They're gonna do the game the same way.
But it's always cool to see your head coach who
wants you guys to hit those incentives not going the
other way. It says, hey, you know, I'm a bench
bump because he's close to getting you know what I mean.
So just a cool thing from the organization and the
coach of staff. And then for me, bump, stop the run.

(31:51):
You've set the tone this whole second half of the season.
It started against the Rams, so finished on a good note.
Give us some good momentum. Sorry, Ray heading in the
next year with the guys are gonna be in this team.
So I'm really looking forward to seeing.

Speaker 5 (32:02):
Now, you can't win the NC West this year, but
you can beat the Rams.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
They've won three in a row.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
All right, so stack the wins starts now finished with
ten slap the Rams have them limping into the playoffs,
and I guess we'll watch after this.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
We'll watch it.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
Maybe they'll be with us in Cancun next week. Anyway,
So it's all goods up there this NFL season. Feel
every play, every hit, every moment with the Sony one thousand,
Next and five noise canceling headphones, the official headphones of
the Seattle Seahawks. With premium noise cancelation, you're in the zone,
no Distraction's just pure football, whether you're in your living
room're on the go, You'll never miss a beat with
Sony headphones and bump. Yes, the season is coming to

(32:42):
an end, we will still be back with you guys
regardless next week. Kind of put a boat on this season.
We'll wait for Mike McDonald's end of year press conference,
react to some of that sound, and kind of just
look forward to what the Seahawks team is going to
look like in the offseason and where they're going. Obviously
not the result everyone wanted, but they're in a good place.
They're trading four, so hopefully the Seahawks go out on
a high. Note on Sunday. Remember you can hear us
