Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's going on. What's going on? Good?

Speaker 2 (00:02):
How are you.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Today? Yeah? Yeah, we got.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Two way too off of them.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Uh yeah, good.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
I mean it's good. It's fun to get back out here.
Fund to should be back on the grass. You know,
this is what we all love to do. So she's
getting back out here playing football again, being around all
the guys.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
It's a lot of fun.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
A lot of new faces.

Speaker 5 (00:24):
What's that like for you and getting.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
Used to stop?

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Uh, like you said, I mean a lot of new faces.
But I mean we're rolling. You love love playing for
Rable so far. Great energy. You know, he everything you
see on TV, that's exactly what what he gets.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
You know.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
He put on a little fifty one jersey, which is
I think I thought was something he did when in
the past.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
You know he still do it. Uh. But his energy,
he always has great energy. Uh, always smiling. Uh.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
So I've enjoyed it. Are impressions, Davis.

Speaker 6 (00:56):
What's going to be like getting to know him?

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Uh see you guys working together, the kind.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Of things will be talking to him about.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Oh yeah, Uh, it's it's gonna be awesome just learning
and and playing with CD.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
I mean he's been he's been in it.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
He's he's played in the super Bowl, so uh, I
mean he's seen at the highest level.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
He's done it.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
So that's only not great for me, but for the
whole room to just have his voice, have have his
voice in there.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
And and just pick up tips from him.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Anything he can, he can learn from us, we can
learn from him, and you know, just chopping it up,
piggybacking ideas how we play certain things.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
That's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Like what would you say.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
About your game that's anything has changed or gotten better?

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Uh, I mean just you know, obviously just getting back healthy,
getting back ready to to come back and and be
ready to go. And also just you know, kind of
trying to going into year three. We got a we
got a pretty young room. You know, bringing in CD helps,
but trying to you know, take that next step and

(02:02):
you know, be be one of the guys people can
come talk to you. I mean it was two different
coverages both where I got to see the quarterback, so
I mean that helps as a dB just saw the
ball and when a guy get it.

Speaker 6 (02:20):
It is a pretty young room, but if you're one
of the more veteran guys in terms of service time
here and now the leader changing the leadership style.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
I wouldn't say changing my leadership style. I mean, you
can't really change somebody, you can't. I'm as most people know,
I'm more of a low key you know, I don't
really talk a lot, the type of guy. But you know,
everybody leads differently. Everybody can lead, you know, talking wise,
everybody can lead through playing. So I mean, I'm just
gonna continue to be myself, not change up or anything.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
But you know, just if if there's certain things.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
You know, I kind of I mean, the more I've
been in the building, the more I've been around football,
the more I'm starting to learn, the more I can,
you know, help the rookies when they have a question.
Help not even the rookies, as anybody else that has
a question.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
So yeah, well I guess maybe that's a.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Better way to look at it.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
Do you feel more empowered now even though you're still
relatively a couple of years.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I mean, I mean not really. I mean, I still
got a lot to prove.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
But if I feel like it's if somebody wanted to
come ask me something, they can definitely come after something.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
How did you continue to challenge yourself?

Speaker 2 (03:31):
You saw coming off your first all pron but like you.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Said, a lot, Yeah, I mean just went to work
the same way I went to I've always done, you know,
kind of spent some more time and and I mean
playing a full season was different from my rookie year,
where my rookie year had a very very long off season.
But you know, it was kind of different just because

(03:53):
I played a lot longer into the season. So I
had to, you know, kind of adjust my routine since
it was a kind of my my first one. So
but I mean still kept my foot on the gas,
like always enjoy some time at home mentally, but then
got right back to it.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Uh doing tried out pilates. That's really hard. Uh, that's
really hard, but I enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Uh works a lot of muscles that you never think
you've been having your body.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
So I've enjoyed it. And then, you know, just the
same work I always done. Is there any personal goals,
I'm gonna keep them to myself.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
You're maybe by example, that's what's natural to you going
into training out looking ahead, what would.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
You want the character of the room of debts to be?

Speaker 7 (04:42):
Taking asks like people talk about your pace.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
I mean.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
That's kind of so that's a good question. But I
mean I'll just say that. I mean, I know, off
the field, we're real close, which which I really enjoy.
You know, we all hang out all the time outside
of the building, so that just leads to on the field.
It makes it even more easier. So you know, just connected,
feisty going out there and doing what we gotta do. Dinners,

(05:16):
hanging out.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Of each other houses, going on trips, whatever we do.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
It a lot about how this defense could be different
for the front severn, more aggressive, more attack.

Speaker 6 (05:27):
How is it different for you guys back?

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Yeah, I mean we're kind of just we're all still
trying to learn it.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
It's relatively new, so just as much as y'all know
is what we're doing.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
So, I mean, we're just learning it.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Got to get through phase one, phase two, and now
we're trying to apply it on the field.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
So we got a long way to go. But it's
it's gonna be fun.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Against practice here. What have you made of him obviously
his career.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
Time with the team here, but.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
His competitive his personality.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Oh yeah, I mean everybody's competitive at this level. Everybody's
gonna come in and especially I mean receivers, dB that's
that's one of the positions you've got to be the
most competitive at. So he's he's one of them. He's
gonna you know, talk his talk, just like every other receiver.
But uh, I mean he comes in, has his head down,
gets to work. You know, he's hungry, ready to go.

(06:30):
And I mean that at this point, that's all you
can ask from him is just come in, get to work,
and you know, ask questions. When we needed this steps him,
I don't think he was on the field. I don't know,
I can't remember.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
But yeah, what's been like working with Justin Ailton corner? Oh? Yeah,
JN been great. Jam.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
It's been really fun getting to get to get in
to know him. All the corners, you know, we're all
kind of like what I was hitting on early, we're
all real close.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
That corner room was.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Pretty much the exact same from last year, just minus
a couple people. But so we've all been real close.
So we're all learning each other. And you know, he's
he's bringing energy, he's he's he's kind of like me.
I mean we're both pretty low key. You know, he's
not a coach that's going to get to yelling and
and doing all that, but it's been fun. I'm excited
to continue.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
To work with him.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Appreciate y'all.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
I don't know if it's more than usual. I don't.

Speaker 8 (07:31):
I don't know if if you could say that, but
you know, we're working at a good clip man, obviously,
competing against each other, trying to make each other better,
and it's what it's all about.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
How do you feel like.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
I think he's acclimating great man. I mean, it's it's
a lot, and it's really early.

Speaker 8 (07:49):
I mean, it's it's all in May, man, and we
just got together a month ago and put this all,
put this all in. So there's a lot thrown at
the wall right now that we're trying to make stick.
And you know, I've been in the scheme, but I
haven't been in the scheme with all these guys. So
we're trying to, you know, mess this well. And it
takes time, man, it takes a lot of time. That's

(08:10):
why we're out here. That's why we're out here competing,
That's why we're trying to get better, and that's what
it's all about. Because especially on offense, you know, we've
got to be in tune, we got to be connected
and just trying to get better every single day.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Before.

Speaker 8 (08:27):
Yeah, I mean it's it's h it's different, but uh,
you know some things, there's things that can help in
some aspects. I feel like I know the scheme. Well,
obviously I'm still there's there's still things I'm learning and
trying to grow upon. I mean, even if you know
we were in the same scheme from last year, I
would still be growing in an aspect of like just
deeper knowledge and uh, but you know, I'm always there

(08:48):
to help and try to, you know, help drink in
any way I can. Oh today, Uh yeah, I'm always
held usually so no, I mean, you know it is
it is his day two and it's what it's about. Uh,
it's about competing. So you know, he made a good play.
Defense made a lot of good plays today. You know,
we bounced back. I mean that's what it's all about.

(09:10):
That's what practice is supposed to be. And uh, it's
fun to be back out here.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
Today.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (09:25):
I mean I think I just try to keep the
same energy the whole day, no matter what it is.
I mean, even in a game, in a practice, just
try to be as consistent as I can be. And
I think I see that with Drake too. I think
he finished practice as good as you could see. Uh,
especially with you know, sometimes how things go and ball
don't bounced the right the way that you want, so uh,

(09:45):
I mean that's what it's about. That's what football is.
I mean, things don't always go your way, and you
got to keep playing a lot of players.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
Leadership, the teams, rebuilding.

Speaker 8 (10:00):
I mean we got a lot of obviously I missed
those guys, man, Uh, A lot of guys that you know,
went to battle with and uh really built great relationships with.
You know, I miss missed those guys for sure. But
now we're you know, onto twenty five and trying to
build the right way. And we brought in I mean,
everybody we brought in, I've really enjoyed getting to know
and felt like they've been really good in the locker

(10:22):
room so far. And I mean just in the short
time we've been on the field, it's been it's been
fun to compete with and talk with and just kind
of grow together. So excited to kind of build this
locker room. I mean, all the guys we brought in.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Have been great. What's that process like at this point?

Speaker 4 (10:38):
More?

Speaker 8 (10:39):
Yeah, I mean it's early, man, y'all are seeing day
two of o C as man is, we got a
long way to go, man, long long way to go.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
You know, September is a long way to go. But
it's exciting. Man. This is the the groundwork that that
we need.

Speaker 8 (10:52):
This is the work we need every single day to
just continue to compete, you know, iron shopper and iron
and uh, it's fun to come out here and be
able to football a little bit again, do you guys
that way? No, I mean they all matter for sure.

(11:16):
I mean I'm saying it's early, but I'm saying it's
early in the sense of, like, all right, we need
to you know, we have to we can fix these things.
But I mean this obviously, we don't want to put
the ball in harm's away. I mean, that's that's probably
the biggest priority in this league is turnovers. You know,
win and lose football games in this in this in
this league. So I mean that's a huge priority of ours.
On offense that we got to be better at, which

(11:37):
weren't you know, good at that last year. So yeah,
we got to fix that now for sure. But I
like the way that we bounce back. I mean, you
just keep playing because you know, like I said, things
don't really go go your way always.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Yeah, man, it's not.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
It's not.

Speaker 8 (11:52):
You don't have to go too crazy. But that's why
we practice while you come out here and try to
get better. So obviously it's not what you want, but
you're not gonna come out here and be perfect.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
And you know, we've heard that Josh sort of simplified
the system a little bit streamlined it.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Have you noticed that at all and how much.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Of you noticed that in terms of maybe some of
the uh.

Speaker 8 (12:10):
I mean, it's pretty similar to the past, to be
honest with you, in a lot of ways. I mean,
obviously I think compiling stuff and you know, there are
definitely some new stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
So I guess you guys will have to just keep
watching and see.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Different people.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (12:31):
Oh, it's great, man. He's been a lot of fun,
a lot of fun in the building, in the meeting rooms.
He's been great obviously. I mean just briefly being on
the field with him has been awesome. I Mean, he
was a player, so he kind of has that energy
like like we all do, and now also on the
coaching side that he brings a great energy that I
think everybody likes.

Speaker 5 (12:51):
He's had a history of reminding people that he played,
players that he's played in Tennessee. They would talk about
it often if you already picked that up from him
as he r he sort of reminded you that he
was a pretty good player.

Speaker 7 (13:03):
In this league.

Speaker 8 (13:04):
Ah, not not a ton, but obviously I think we
all know the pedigree that he played, uh for a
long time. Man, I mean I think that just out
of pure respect for what he did in this league
for a long time. I mean, obviously I respect, and
I think all the guys in the in the building
respect just the way he approached the game, his career,

(13:25):
the success that he had, and just the way he
played played the game the right way. A couple a couple, Oh,
I don't. I don't know about that. So you have
to mess with the rookies about that one.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
How much you seek afterwards that joy of winning?

Speaker 8 (13:48):
Yeah, man, I mean we're trying to get back to
that starts now, And like I said, there's a process
to it. And I mean that's the number one goal
is to win more football games than we have been
for sure, and so but there's a long process to
get to that. Just trying to take it day by day,
not to get too far ahead of ourselves and just
try to you know, win each day. I mean that's

(14:08):
really the only thing you can do at this point,
you know, come out here and compete, get better and
just let the you know, blocks fall in place.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
I guess, all right, who's first? Don't be shy now.
I think it's the biggest thing.

Speaker 6 (14:38):
You know.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
I've been blessed to be under a lot of great tackles.
You know, I played with Trent Williams for five six
years and just being able to learn from him and
just take it on the field. You know, it's vital
because you know, being a vet that's played twelve years
and being able to sprinkle those little things to those
guys to see them, you know, use them in practice
and get better and just build a you know, build

(14:58):
a tool a toolbox for themselves. You know, it's it's
good for for for everybody specifically. What do you think
about man? It's uh, the the way he approaches the game. Man,
he's eager to learn. He asks questions every day. He's like, bro,
can we get some sets and just talking football? You know,
his lockers right beside mind, so we get to talk
about football the all day. And obviously he's a stub man.

(15:19):
He's played great football in college and so now he's
just trying to figure it out where like you know,
every week you're going against somebody that has a guy,
so you know, just fi fine tuning, not trying to
change stuff, but just fine tuning the things he's learned
in college and taking him to the NFL and just
and on on the field and getting challenged every day.
Did not see that, Yeah, you know, just pacing things out,

(15:44):
you know. Obviously, you know, I feel great, you know,
coming back from the knee surgery and stuff like that,
but just getting acclimated getting out there running around.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
With the guys.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
But I'm happy to put that helmet on and put
that jersey on and get out there and running with
the fella. So it's been good.

Speaker 6 (15:57):
Workouts.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
Oh, real, real important. And obviously we got a group,
you know, we got a young office line, and so
just being able to get around them, you know, create
that brotherhood, that chemistry you know, and uh and just
bring them along. It's very it's very important.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
What kind of things are you doing to I guess
organically create do the draft?

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Well, you know, just number one. You know, we got
we got a young room. You know, we got a
lot of guys that's that's trying to figure it out themselves.
So just being a voice in that room bringing them along,
whether it's like you know, us going out to dinners
you know, uh, you know, or just you know, staying
after after practice when everything is done and uh watching
film together and just just spit all everybody's ideas, you know,
I know, you know, Garrett's been phenomenal for the room

(16:39):
as a veteran center as long as uh West as well.
You know, I played with Wes before, and so when
you bring those knowledgeable players into one room and we
can sit down and just you know, just share football
and what we see, you know, and just being able
to talk about it, right because like obviously my eyes
might be a little bit different than Will's and the
younger guys because I've been playing for for for a
long time. So just being able to you know, spit

(17:01):
that knowledge to them and help them see what I
see to bring them along as as vital.

Speaker 6 (17:07):
About how this challenging time to hear for the offense
because there's no contact, you can't do everything to do.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Yeah, what's the most important to.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
We were just talking about it just a couple of
minutes ago over there, you know. You know, office line
is a unique position because in the offseason, you're training
against a bag all day, you know, and then you
gotta go out there and block a live, moving object,
and so it takes a it takes the guys a
little bit of time to get acclimated to the speed
and stuff. But you know, really just coming out coming
out here, you know, learn the plays, being in the huddle,
listening to Drake, seeing what Drake ce's everybody being on

(17:44):
the same the same cord, and just playing football and
having fun. You know, we're building the identity. We got
a lot of new players, We got a lot of
young players that are that are gonna be out there
playing this year, and so just getting them comfortable with
the schemes and the terminology so we can go out
there and play fast. What way he's carried himself communications
these guys, Well, he's the a CEC guy, so I

(18:05):
can't complain about that. But no, his leadership, you know, obviously, uh,
you know, he's been in the league going on his
second year. He's seen some things on the field last year,
but just getting them comfortable, you know, knowing that the
guys in front of him that are blocking form, that's
they're gonna do their job. They're gonna communicate with him
and you know, things that we need. And that's what
this is about, is just you know, not just you know,
just learning the playbook, but learning one another, you know,

(18:26):
seeing you know, what he sees and what he expects
us out of our as our quarterback and our leader,
and just going out there and just capitalizing.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
What is it.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
Speech?

Speaker 4 (18:46):
No, it was week three, Thursday night. But uh, just
the fact that I still come out here and I
still feel like I can learn, you know, you know
when you come in the building every day and you
got the urge just to learn. And and I tease
Will about it all the time. I said, Will, like
the things you did in college, I didn't do twelve
years ago. So you know, I'm learning from them just
as much as I'm they're learning from me. And when

(19:07):
you come with that mindset, the you know, the window
for for you just as a growing as a player
and as a person, it's always open. So I still
enjoy the grind. I still enjoy being out here with
the guys and and just learning from them and you
know them learning from me. Yeah, I mean I don't

(19:35):
I don't think it's uh, you know, it's football, man,
at the end of the day, I don't think there's
a way that you can really ease into it, you know.
I say one thing, you know, it's obviously you know,
guys been working out all in the off season, but
football are playing. Football is a different type of football shape.
So getting guys out there and all although we're not
going hard and we're learning, you know, obviously with a
young team, were learning how to practice the right way,
you know, keep guys off the ground. And then also

(19:56):
you know, just being we got a great defense out there.
You know, the defense, they got a lot of a
lot of young players and they're they're coming, but being
able to have those conversations in between plays. You'll see
guys over there like Keon Ksey over there, you know,
grab younger guys like Will and say, hey, man, I
think you should change this up, you know, And that's
the and that's what this is about. Learning from your teammates.
So when you go into training camp, you get into

(20:16):
the season, you're the best policed player you can be,
no problem appreciate y'all. Thank you.

Speaker 6 (20:25):
What's uh the process been like so far as may
kind of things you're doing?

Speaker 9 (20:31):
Uh, you know, just you know, I think stack days
for me, uh say, I get better every day, you know,
work on something like we say, make a new mistake.

Speaker 7 (20:42):
You know, I don't want to make no mistake that
I made the day before.

Speaker 9 (20:45):
So get better at you know, whatever I made a
mistake at, and just overall, just get better. Just like
a little road drill, so road Drew, I said, but
uh yeah, just a little road drill. Don't don't go
back with the last year thing with the miscommunication. It's
just yeah, yeah, no facts though, but now it was

(21:07):
just a road drill. I don't think he seems so
coming down.

Speaker 7 (21:11):
So that's how big.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
What are your impressions of.

Speaker 7 (21:19):
Oh no, no, I think it's gonna be lovely.

Speaker 9 (21:21):
Uh you know, we are just with the first two installs,
So once we open up that book, it's gonna be crazy.
So uh you know, you forgot something on us right now.
But once we open that book, it's gonna be it's
gonna come something good. The fact, man, I'm super excited.
I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
What's the process, Uh, man, it's been good.

Speaker 9 (21:43):
You know, Like I said, he's becoming a leader, and
uh he's been he's been working and he's working hard.
He's been here. He'd be first one there, last one out.
So uh that's how you know he's trying to be great.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
What is it like getting all of the guys together.

Speaker 9 (22:02):
I mean they feel good just you know, uh, to
be going against the defense again and uh, just being
out there again on the field. It's just it's it's
it's our relief real and how it's the culture. I mean,
the culture is different here.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
I love it.

Speaker 9 (22:17):
You know, Uh, verbal players coach and uh he's on
the field with us. You got a coach that's on
the field, a head coach that's on the field of us. Man,
it's different.

Speaker 7 (22:25):
You can tell he's very in tune to what we're
doing and wanted want us to be better.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
Somebody right.

Speaker 9 (22:34):
Now that's good. Uh where that is constructive criticism. We
we love when the head coach on the field and
he knows both sides. You know, Uh, he knows what's
going on the offense, what's going on defense, and what
needs to be done.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
You know.

Speaker 9 (22:45):
Uh, that's how I know, like I said, he's in
tune with us and he's making sure that we're all
on one the court and we're all doing what we
need to do.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
What's that been like the off season and what are
you taking out year to.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Get to that?

Speaker 4 (23:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (23:04):
I could tell like the guys who who've been here, Uh,
like it's a different mentality.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
You know.

Speaker 9 (23:10):
I feel like everybody's working super hard and I feel
like they're tired of losing too. And uh, you can
see it as when we were working out, Man, we're competing.
We're competing on workouts like conditioning, Dury were competing that
that's rare to see, you know. And I feel like
we were working at as we compete, we're getting better
in each room.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Which one? We got like three?

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Four?

Speaker 4 (23:37):
H I love them.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (23:41):
I feel like they they brought great They brought everything
to the room. You know, straight competition in our room
and I love it. Man, in every position we got competition.
So them two, well, we got four of the four
rookies that came in and they're pushing us to get better.
So as we got you know, people coming in that
come work hard is gonna push everybody else to work harder.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
What are you last year, the Wide Receiver group scrutinized
like a group. You know, what are you guys trying
to I feel like.

Speaker 9 (24:13):
As we if you're trying to prove something, it's like
I feel like you're gonna get caught up of trying
to prove something. So I feel like, man, just compete.
You know, as we compete, were gonna we're gonna do better.
And uh, I feel like, just get open. I mean,
you get open, the ball gonna come you away. You know,
even if you don't come away. I mean, it's gonna
show up on film that you're getting open, and you
know other people can see, and.

Speaker 7 (24:33):
The film is gonna show.

Speaker 6 (24:38):
But what do you think he's gonna break?

Speaker 7 (24:39):
Oh yeah, he's gonna bring that dog.

Speaker 9 (24:41):
You know, he probably the one who who brings out
that that attitude in the uh in the room. You know, Uh,
you got a lot of quiet right now in the room.
But I feel like he's gonna bring that dog out
in the room.

Speaker 7 (24:53):
