Speaker 1 (00:00):
I never never better here.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
I think the uh destment led been like to Josh
and the offense, how's that coming for you?

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Other than the world fell into a panic when you
supposedly through four deceptions on that first I think feel good.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I think you kind of catching the stride, trying to
get me wraps out there as possible. I think you
got to take the meetings and what you learn from.
You know, when you do a good chance to run
the plays, just take it and take it in the
next time you run it. I think it's it's all
the same concepts in the league, but it's different word,
it's different verbiage, same guys, mostly the same guys run them,
but just kind of feeling out kind of how they
run it and timing and just kind of get a

(00:35):
different concept.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
So I think it's been I think it's been good.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
I think, uh I'm starting to kind of, you know,
really kind of find a find a stride and kind
of kind of bummed out we're about to leave, but
uh no, it's funny time. We're going to gainst a
great defense. He got good players, two great corners. I
tell guns every day I'm gonna test them. I'm not
gonna not throw at them or or CD, you know,
to the you know, I think the best corners and
one of the best duos in the league. What an
opportunity for us to go out there every day and

(00:58):
and throw it against those guys.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Much have you and Mike and Josh talked about the
expectations for you as a leader on this team going
into your.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Second Yeah, I think he stopped turning for me, you know,
take a jump. I think kind of from last year
being a rookie, uh, trying to come in here and
kind of earn my stripe, earned my keyp just kind
of you know, through hard work, and I think kind
of this year is you know, saying approach. You got
new guys in here, new staff, kind of got to
keep getting to know everybody, kind of you know, showing
my work ethic and then kind of from there, as
the season comes around, try to take a next step
of leadership and leading the offense and hopefully leading this football.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Teams as a voice and as a player.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
How would you define your now? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Oh yes, world's different. She I was talking to Pep
about that earlier. I remember this time last year, Uh,
Pep and Doug I was playing quarterback back there and
we had a one high, two high read and they're
playing with me the whole basically the whole snap, and
I messed it up. But yeah, just confidence and being
out there having reps, you know, seeing some of these plays,
seeing how these guys on defense play, and you know,
I think it's you know, it's worlds difference, a little

(01:58):
different to have new offense, new verbage. I think kind
of just you'll find them, you know, you know where
we're at in the offense and finding what we're gonna
be good at in ourdentities.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
It's been fun, it's been cool.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
We've seen Stephan Diggs out there with you guys a
little bit more in the past few weeks.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Just what are your first impressions of him and just
getting to him. Yeah, he seems like, you know, awesome teammate.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
You know, he's he's my next door to my locker
locker mat, so he's you know, one down from beside me.
You know, we talk all the time. He's a veteran
of this league. He's made a lot of plays, playing
a lot of big time games. So just an awesome
voice for for the receiver room, for this offense. He's
playing some playoff games, He's had some big games and
I think, you know, once he kind of recovers and
just getting back out there. I'm looking forward to, you know,

(02:37):
be able to you know, throw them foo footballs and
uh just it's always good having a guy like that
in your team.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Have you seen have you seen stuff on his workoutic
in action?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah, he comes in here, you know, lifting, you know,
when the meetings, asking questions, you know, asking me after plays, Hey,
what'shot done there?

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (02:53):
You know the times past I've done this when the
guy's playing this leverage stuff like that. So you know,
he's a he's seen a lot different things, played a
lot time.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
In this league.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
So it's been great for me to be able to
you know, veteran receiver him and Mac and you know
Kendrick Bourne. You got you know, three really not really
old heads, but kind of old heads in there, you know,
in their thirties.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
So it's been awesome for us to kind of you know,
find you know, how they lead the lead the room
and help this offense the.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Expectations that are coming. It's all a lot of improvement
on the coaching staff, on the roster. So your second year.
You had such a good at times rookie year. The
expectations are are are already growing. How do you react
to those and feel about high expectations?

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Yeah, people, high expectations. I think that's what you want.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
I think this c you know, the Patriots are used
to winning, and that's what we're trying to get back to.
I think you want you want people to expect you
to play good. And I think that pressure is kind
of what fuels it to be out here, will fuse
you to get the rep right in practice, what fuels
you to you know, work hard in the meetings or
work hard in the late room or kind of not
what happened last year happened again.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
So he's out in Boston.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Sometimes is an impatience, Yeah, like why why is he
supposed to be dot dot Dodd?

Speaker 1 (04:05):
It's much better? Do you anticipate that?

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Do you realize that it's hard to antipate anything. I'm
just trying to folks out here on practice and you know,
hopefully when the game time comes, I'm, you know, try
to play my best football and I think from there,
just you try to help this team win.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
Thrill when everyone's lined up and you guys are doing
the sprints.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
How does that challenge you vocally and I guess physically too.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Yeah, not really the challenge just try not to, you know,
screw the guys over with the cadence and have him
jump offside. So just trying to, you know, help the
guys out, give them a little heads up in the front.
But it's good for us to hear cadence. You know,
kid's the big thing in this league to you know,
see what defense is doing. Help the guys up front blocking,
you know, you know, every d line in this league
is good. So so, you know, great way for those
guys listening to the cadence and also conditioning when they're tired,

(04:49):
you know, listening to the cadencedango system that more post
snap adjustments than you've used in the past.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
And how do you feel like you guys are yelling
the doll so far post snap? Yeah, I wouldn't say that.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I think every offense kind of has you know, you know,
different pre snap, different post snap. I think I think
what kind of coach does a gat job get guys
in matchups and letting them win. So you're looking forward
to you know, doing that and got to do my
part and getting guys lined up and you know, playing
the right side, and you'll just do my part of
you know, taking taking what's open and taking the first
thing because sometimes when you I tend to wait for

(05:20):
the big one and that's not holding the ball and
you know, sometimes not open.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
So it's important for you to test Christian Gonzalez and
Carl Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
I think just give them work because I know there's
gonna be you know guys and you know quarterbacks in
this league with you know, big time receivees that are
going to go at Gunzo, go out guns and go
at CD, and I think there's gonna be receiver rooms,
like if we were playing you know, our defense, you know,
get those guys exciting the receiver room to play such
a good quarterback dual who gets a lot of hype
and you know it's well deserved on you know, speaking
of myself for those guys on our side, but you know,

(05:49):
playing someone like that, you want to prove them, prove
them wrong, and prove them, hey, this guy's making a
bunch of money. Let's let's go out there and show them,
you know, what we can do. So that's that's our mindset.
If we're playing somebody like our duo and just give
them work. I think that's what it's great. They don't
want to gone to what's work, you know. I try
to throw them a back shoulder if you're staying on top,
or try to you know, throw him on a slant
when he's sitting inside, or throw him on him and
cut when he's back end zone. I think stuff like that.

(06:09):
It gives him good work. And I think, you know,
when the season comes, gonna help out.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Dan was Dan was joking about the four interceptions and
sort of the how did you view that day and like,
is that you know obviously at this time of year,
are you testing things out, trying things out?

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (06:25):
I think there's a there's a balance between trying things
out and turning football over. I think, like going back
to that day, a deep one, Gonzo fell off, we
had a I'm not getting football, but Gonzo fell off.
Gunzo made a good play. The other one like bring
cover zero and just gotta have cover zero answers in
this league.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
So I learned learn with that one. I don't remember.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
I think Hunter got held on one self. You're gonna
take that stuff with a grain of salt. At the
same time, you won't turn the football over, so getting
in bad habits. So I feel like I've done a
good job of trying to keep the football in our hands.
And that's one of our our key focuses.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
It's been big on not making the repeating mistakes. Yeah,
you feel like we just talked about there, Mike, that
that's kind of what you're learning as far as coming
out with a.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
New day and not repeating.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Yeah, that's what the NFL is, you know, it's you're
gonna get knocked down. It's how hard you get up
and I'm gonna throw interceptions and how do you bounce back?
So I learned that, you know, in this league really early,
you're gonna have some bad players. I think maybe my
second or third throws the interception, So you gotta come back.
And those guys are looking at me and looking to
me to respond, and I think, you know you're playing
this position, it comes with that, and I'm starting to

(07:24):
feel that out and you know, take take the bull
by the horns and go at it.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
What are your plans for the.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Yeah, that's that's football.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
You're trying to find out what the defense is is doing,
and defense is trying to show you something and play
something else. That's the NFL, and I think you're finding that.
And I think it's you know, for me just trying
to play the chess match with them. They're gonna try
to show me something and do something different. I'm just
not getting too much in a guessing game. So it's
been fun. It's it's it's a good master beween our defense.
They do a lot of different stuff and that's great workforce.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Drake.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
What are your plans for the next five six weeks
before you guys come back for a training camp?

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Shoot, my plans got folks on tomorrow, got another day
of practice, Uh, getting married in two weeks. But other
than that, just trying to get ready for the season.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
So you have a lot of new faces on your
offensive line.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
How do you see them putting things together over the
time I see you in it.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Yeah, I think I think you're kind of starting to
see it.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
I think you know, you know, Morgan and Garrett coming
into their veterans, you'll played a lot of snaps in
a lot of starts.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
So good to have some guys who's been in.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Here and some guys last year Big Tray and and
v low and and coach Strange and obviously Big Mic.
You know, these these styles can be so, you know,
I'm looking forward to see those guys are coming as
a group. They're doing their part. I gotta get the
ball out and you help those guys. And there's different
stuff is tough out here. The defense nose, we're passing.
You know, there's not much running game out here in
O c A. So they kind of got a head start,
but it's good for us to get that work. You're

(08:47):
gonna see their best pass rush on third down because
that's when they're gonna come. So in Big Will, he's
he's done, great job. It's it's cool for me seeing
Will coming kind of the same situation. Played three years
in college, coming in the NFL. Never been up here
in the Northeast Southern accident, so it's been cool to
kind of be there with him and live through.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
There are trees here exactly basically a few practices you've
had here so far. How much do you feel like
you know about your offense's identity?

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Yeah, he again, and this Isason. What is that identity?
I think I think you're starting to find it.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I think it's hard out here because because running football
is such an identity for those guys up front, you know,
kind of being physical and the running game. And also
it's hard to you know, you know, nobody's getting tackled,
so it's hard to tackle these guys. They're just tapping
off and say I tacked them or tackled him. But
that's how it is an OTAs. But I think it's
good work. It's good for us to kind of install
the plays, get a feel about, you know, what I like.

(09:37):
Coach mcdamon has been awesome about asking what I like
and you know, what he expects from me on certain plays.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
So it's been good.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
To uh be able to get that outside and on
the field, and it's been fun, you know, watching you know,
Tom and a bunch of great quarterbacks in this offense
do it.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Before practice, Mike was talking about how you know your
leadership qualities and he said, you know, it's a unique situation.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
He's twenty two years old. You know, you're still a
young guy.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
How comfortable are you though, as you guys are learning
this new offense, kind of getting after guys if you
feel like you need to when things aren't going the
way they should.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
I think I think that's something that I think is neat.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
I think those labels kind of set that that tone
when he came in here and got hired of Hey,
if you're not doing you know, the right thing or
a period of times, there's good made, some consequences, and
I think that's something we need to establish and not
saying it's something that uh, you know, me growing up
three older brothers and around older people my whole life,
I've kind of been comfortable and kind of once I
got acclimated, which I feel like I definitely am now
to kind of step into that zone. And Hey, I

(10:30):
think especially for for offensively, if somebody's not doing their job,
and it starts with me, I gotta do mine first.
But if somebody's not doing their job and repeated mistakes,
I think you gotta there'd.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Be a consequence.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
I think at some point it hurts the Wall team,
and I think it hurts everybody in that building.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
Questions of the skill position players you guys added around
the draft aft to choose them, Kayle Williams, Trevion.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Henderson, Yeah, I think you just saw it. I mean
they're making plays, you know, all day. So we got
to find a way to get them involved, looking forward
to seeing kind of how they kind of shape through
rolling training camp, and I think they're shaping it out here.
I think you saw plays from everybody trading on a touchdown,
Kyle caught a deep ball. She just caught, you know,
some some had some about fifty catches. I feel like
O t As. So these guys are just showing the
work and showing up. And I've been through it with

(11:13):
the rookie there here and some rookie meetings till five o'clock,
some NFL p A meeting, so they got a lot
on their plate, and I think they're responding well. So
I think what you realize is young players in this
league are good for the program and and good for
the organization. So I think find a way that had
those guys help us, help us early is something that
we can kind of build, build a young kind of
group and a young core.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
So thank thank you,
