Speaker 1 (00:00):
I didn't, guy, what's going on doing?
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Yeah that was good.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
You know, I think some coming out here, you know,
we're kind of the stuff that we kind of major
in in the spring, stuff that we know, so stuff
to clean up. I think, you know, pre snap, you
know communication, uh, cadence, trying.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
To kind of use that to our avantage.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
But I thought we made some plays, makes some plays
down the field to have the guys in front fought.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
It's hard to block without pads, but I thought they
did a good job.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
And I think just you know, coming out and come
out of each every day to just try to build
on it.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Session in Charlotte. How did that come to be? And yeah, boring?
Was that for you to establish yourself.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
As I think it's something that you know, you missed
those guys for a month, and you know you just
want to get back in a refreshment form. Whether it's
route wise, play wise. I think the most support thing
is just bonding together. I think getting the guys together,
go out to eat, having some fun, get some working.
And I think it was glad for those guys you know,
came out and showed up.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
It reacted completion stuff.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Yeah, it's good to them out there. I mean it's
a good player made a lot of players in this league.
You know, thanks to the fans out here for showing up.
You know, wish I you know, sign everybody. I think
that's what's what makes the league go. These fans, you know,
coming out here and coming out here on whatever day
it is Wednesday, we're in camp now, who knows the days,
but coming out here and you know, supporting us and
you know, being here for us in the hot and
the heat, and I think that still makes it go.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
So it's fun to be out here and make a
place catch you by surprise. Well you throw this little
pass and all this a sudden they react.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
No, it's one of those things you figure, just like
the first catch in the game. I'm sure you know,
a home game and we get a big, big roar.
I think that's what you want. You want guys that
you know, the fans like that they want. And I
think there's a lot of rules for a lot of
different players around here.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Drake. There's so much talk about you taking that jump
at leadership in here too.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
How much is that Mike in your ear encouraging it
versus just kind of letting you naturally.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Get to that. He's a little bit of both. I
think he does a great job.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
That's kind of giving me, you know, kind of points
where I can improve or points where hey, maybe do this.
I think he's also trying to let me go and
kind of see where I'm at. And I think it's
kind of a challenge for me to kind of leave
this football team and lead this offense. Drake, your second
training camp, how much more confident are you than you
It's a lot different kind of coming here, know what
to expect.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
So I was telling rookies earlier, you know it's gonna
be a kind of whirlwind.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
You're kind of scrambling from period to period and next
thing you know, you you're up against the defense and
some full speed plays. So I think, just take your
time and enjoy it. You'll take the time to watch
the film. And I think more than not, just have fun.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
I mean, you know, the players, just don't overthink it.
And I think you just playing stinct. How close do
you feel you are to kind of mastering the system? That, yeah,
and it takes a while.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
I think the master something at the level that some
of you guys played at. So I think I got
a long way to go. But I think I'm like
where I'm at. I got some most stuff to improve on.
I think it all comes, you know, facing defenses. I
think you can master it. You know, hey, what are
these guys gonna do on the route? I think there's
a different kind of level when you're facing different hey,
versus coveragehere you're gonna do.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
And I think there's a different level too of that.
I think that we're kind of you gonna need to
tap into base stuff. I feel good.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
I mean I think I think it's more of a
judge how I how I play today. So I think
we moved the ball well. I through one.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
It's kind of one ball which I'll have back.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
But they played a good cover before we had, So
I think it's just one of those things that you
learn from it and trying to let those defensive guys
give me. Yeah, Kyle, I know he's backside one on
one with Gonzo. He made a big time catch, you know,
strong hands. I told him to maybe sell a little more,
just try to, you know, give him a go route feel.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
But I think he's he's uh, he's coming along. He's
looking good.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
I told gonz I'm gonna coming gonz I'm not gonna,
you know, backside, I'm not gonna, you know, leave him
out here board at practice. So good for you know,
working to make a play like that, and uh, I
think it's just gonna get better and better.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Tra what's your level of excitement coming into the year
two now and and with Rabel and with the vibe
around here.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
I think it's awesome.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
I think coming out here and kind of a reset.
You know, everybody you know feels good coming into camp.
I think it's kind of you get a tester and
get a feel when you come up with these practices
and uh, these joint practices, you get a real feel
where you're at. So I'm excited for you know, where
this team's going. I think we've got some more work
to do, get in shape. Kind of small details offensively,
but I like we're kind of, you know, day one
where we're at, and I think we got some some
(03:57):
more work to do.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
What about working with Stefan Digg? Is that exciting for you? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Anytime you know, in all Pro and a player like that,
he made some plays out here today, It's it's awesome
being able to you'll throw the guy like that, and
even when you feel like he's not open, he gonna
go make a play for you and uh kind of
tight coverage. You know, he's you'll, you know, strong receiver
gonna make plays. And I think it's, uh, we've got
a bunch of those guys in the room that a
kind of kind of earned their role and find their role.
You have some trust already sort of established with Diggs
(04:22):
just based on what he's done in his career, Drake
or is there still a.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Long way to go there.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
I think there's certain players that you have trust right
when they come in. You know, Garrett Brabberry and Big
Mo up front, you know guys like that that have
been in this league. And you'll play a bunch of starts, uh,
Matt Collins, Hunter, Henry, those guys you know you trust
like trust is basically is me kind of earning my
trust for them is really sorry, sorry sorry for me
really kind of uh kind of earning their trust and
(04:49):
kind of me kind of making him feel like, yeah,
they can you'll trust that guy back there. I think
those guys already haven't you know, built in with what
they've done this league. In your second year, how much
PEP will help you knowing what joint practices are about. No, Yeah,
the preseason games about help you get what you Yeah,
I think I think it's a huge help.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
That's what the biggest thing is.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
You know, they say your rookie year is just you know,
one like you know after your rookie year, just like
all the rest of the guys veteran. Why so that
rookie year is different. You don't really know what to expect.
You're coming out here and I remember the Eagles came
out here and they I was in drill and shoot
a Mike Blitz came and I was under gunn or
I was under center.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
And he basically was unblocked.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
So little things like that that you kind of learned
as a rookie that you know, things don't happen like that.
I think coming into your two, hopefully it'll be a
kind of bigger stride for me kind of take the
next level to playing you know, kind of chess match
the defense and then uh, we have some good teams
coming here that we're playing and Joye practon we're going
you were coming here against Washington and we're going up
to Minnesota's two good defenses and two playoff.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Teams so great.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
How much how much of a leadership role do you
see yourself taking this year, in the year or two,
are you comfortable stepping up and being more of a leader,
not just with the offense, but with the team as
a whole.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Yeah, I think so. I think, you know, I'm trying
to be. I think that's something you gotta earn. I
think somebody I kind of in there every day. You'll
work hard, I'll play good in practice. I think that's
a big part. You'll take practice seriously. I think the
practice translations of the games. It's hard to get you
know this, the simulation. It's not basketball KINGO get shot
opening three pointers. You know, you're you're There's nothing like
being in the mix of it with a lot of
bullets going. So trying to earn, you know, kind of
earned my stripes and practice and then from there just
(06:18):
try to go on and hopefully win some games and
nothing that will help you.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Always working on the final questions. You're always working on stuff.
What's what's new in your toy box this year? Working
on stuff?
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Yeah, I think, uh, just kind of remaining a pastor
longer when I scrambled. I think that's big kind of
getting us how to pocket, remaining a pastor longer, hopeing
some big plays, scramble plays, and just making the defense.
I feel like you had good times last year or
have some guys deep that I may have missed him
or took off running instead.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
So just try to remain a pastor and uh, just
keep trying to work on footwork. I think that's the
big thing.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
New offense, you know, new play actions, new uh, new
new concepts to try to time it up and get
a good group.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
So you said you were excited about the prospects of
this team going forward. What excites you lost? Is this
think specific that you can point to and say this
is gonna be good? Mm hmm. What excites me most?
I like that question.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
I think you've got the guys around here that are
are tired of losing around here and the guys that
want to win. I think that's what excites me most.
And you guys want to win around here. I think
in the past two or three years around here and.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
The past year for me.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
I want to speak for myself, but I think those
guys around here there are tired of losing.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
I want to win. So thank you
