Speaker 1 (00:00):
Drake obviously won the first half. Mike has been preaching
to win the second half. Kind of what happened from
your perspective where you're weren't able to generate points with
the offense, especially in the second half.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Yeah, I think we just gotta get gotta be better.
I think, you know, my decision on the first drive
coming out was what was the one that killed the drive?
And then from there kind from them, just gotta get
the first first down. I think one we kind of
get the first first down. I think we kind of
moved the ball, moved the ball well and uh, you know,
got no rhythm. And I think suggesting from halftime, I
think I could do a better job of you're getting

(00:32):
the guys and making throws. And I thought the guys
up front battle hard. I think they they blocked them
pretty well up front up you know, I thought, and uh,
like I said, just get the first first down and
from there, I think, just make some better throws, you know,
be more accurate. And yeah, I think getting points out
of that first drive would been.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
A huge Uh could you take us through the play
that led to the interception?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Yeah, yeah, I think I thought I thought I had
digs you know we're on the right and UH got
you know, to kind of look back at it in
the film. You don't have a great look at it.
You know. I just think I missed it high. I
think I gotta stepped, you know, step into it more.
I think I'm I may get hit up front. But

(01:15):
you know that's part of playing quarterback in this league.
Guess you got to step into the throw and and
take hits and be accurate. And uh yeah, just it
was placed around the age you have back and I
can think of you know, three or four from from
me that can you know, help dictate the game. And yeah,
it's a bummer thinking back and looking looking back at.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
Those Drake, can you tell me what happened in the
first half on the delay a game? It was third
and twelve at the Vegas seventeen. You guys broke the
huddle with about fourteen seconds. What happened there looked like
maybe you were trying to change the play.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, just trying to get in, uh, trying to get
into a good play. I think, uh just got to
be better with you know, bring the back back in
the backfield, timed it up with the play clock. You know,
I saw it at the end, and I think I
surprised Garrett, you know, trying to get the ball. I
think that's what happened. And uh, it's got to be
more efficient getting out of huddle. I'll think i'd to
preach those guys and it'll get more time to operate.

(02:05):
And I think that that starts with me and getting
those guys in the huddle, get him out of huddle,
kind of being efficient, and uh, just going from there.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
And how would your characterize your overall comfort level and
in Josh's offense in a real game for the first time.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Yeah, I thought, I mean, I feel pretty good that
I thought I was seeing it. Well, you'll make some
better throws, but kind of the first time, you know,
kind of adjusting from a halftime and and coming in
from there. They just gotta just gotta be better on
my part, I think, you know, down in the red
zone and little things with details. You know, seven versus
three is huge in this league. And just make every
possession count. And I know there's times that you know,

(02:36):
we we have looks that that we like and I
can think of, you know, letting a couple of rip
that I should have, you know, right now. So just
taking advantage of every possession and uh just trying to
you know, build those guys and I say, get the
first first down.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
Drake Mike and his opening remarks talked about kind of
a sense of urgency and finding out, you know, who
the team was this upcoming week and facing you know,
some adversity and how it committed you guys going to
be to getting better. How would you kind of describe
this moment where it's only one game, but does it
feel like there's an urgency to get better quickly?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah, no doubt. I think it's urgency to you know,
don't let this game, you know, kind of bleed into
the next. I think we've got a you know, a
chance with a division opponent. You know we're going down there,
and any time you're playing a division opponent, you know
what matters. It means something, and uh you'll bounce back
and realize that. At the same time learn from it.
You'll learn from as much as we can. But at
the same time, and you know, it's one game and
we got to you know, get back and it's a

(03:28):
long season, so get back at it, and uh, you know,
do what I need to do to you'll play better
on my end and and help guys around me play better.
And then from there just you'll lean into each other.
I think that's the big thing around here. You know,
we spend so much time together leaning to each other,
and and you'll fix what we need to fix and
learn from it, and hopefully then you know that the
goal is not to have it show up again. Mike

(03:51):
Rabel mentioned in the second half that the Raiders were
kind of switching up coverages and pressures.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
What did you see in the first half and what
were some ways they adjusted in the second that you
may have noticed.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Yeah, I think you know, any NFL team, they're gonna
try adjust at halftime, and I just try to give
you know, mix up looks and uh it'll bring them
all out pressure in the second half. So just having
answers and just being quicker, I think, just being quicker
and make more throws. And I think it was maybe
the second drive out where they messed up the kickoff
and we had a we had the ball in the

(04:19):
forty and I missed ton of you know, over the
middle of the first down, and and then second down
I had a chance. So, uh, you just plays like that.
You don't realize that those players are gonna be the ones.
You look back on it and uh, you know feel
like the man, if we hit those, it's a different
ball game. So it's a bumber looking back at that now.
But yeah, I think just adjusting to to what they do.
That's the part of the chess match of playing in
the National Football League.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
In the middle, Drake, what did you see in the
screen game and how can you guys get more out
of that going forward?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, I think, Uh, I think those guys you know,
something that you work on. I think it's something that
can be you know, effective and impactful, and I think
it's great to It's great when you got to establish
the run and then make them panic drop and then
I don't think anything, you know, everything everything will kind
of flow off establishing the run. I think they did
a good job of stopping the run, and from there,

(05:11):
I think just just time it up and kind of
longer getting the drive. Sometimes screens work better and you
know when to know the pass rush is coming, So
just finding times when to call them and just trusting
trusting coach on when he's calling them and just try
to execute.

Speaker 6 (05:26):
Drake, I'm curious, it seemed like you were hitting multiple receivers.
Uh today, it wasn't just like one guy you were
going to for the most part, How important is it
to have numerous guys you can go to at any time?
And just what did you feel you got out of
that receiver room today?

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yeah, I mean I thought they brought it. You know,
I thought they were bringing injury on the sideline. I
thought they were, you know, being physical getting open. I
could have gave him some more chances to make place.
And Uh, you saw a lot different guys make catches,
and I think they they they're taking the challenge head
on to be a great room and blocking the run game.
And you know, there's things that can clean up and
things that we can clean up the other So I'm
looking forward to seeing that room can do. But he

(06:02):
had just just having everybody in the game plan and
keep me everybody honest, not to just you know, roll
roll coverage every one guy or you know, double team
one guy. You gotta have answers and have guys that
make plays. And those guys I thought they did that today.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
O jrake go.

Speaker 7 (06:17):
Obviously ten points isn't enough in this league, but can
you talk about it? It didn't seem there were a
lot of I don't know if there were opportunities or
attempts to make that explosive play long play very few.
I know Kay Shawn said something about them playing deep safeties.
Uh they just really wasn't an attempt to really look long.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah, you know, I think that's something that that uh
you know, Coach Carroll and uh you know Graham if
done in their careers kind of drop you know, have
eyes on the quarterback and now that you hit, you know,
the big play, and I think there's chances, uh you know, tonight,
I thought we had some twenty or twenty plus plays,
but you know, that's not a huge play. I think

(06:56):
that just kind of let the game flow and I think,
you know, try to get the ball out quick. They
got a good edge rush up front, and they changed
in the second half. They played a lot of you know,
too high zone looks, and it's you know, tough to
throw the big plays, you know against that. So uh no,
I think I can think back of one or two
times where I know I could would have had a
big play.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Last question, Drake, You've talked about being a little bit
too amped up at the beginning of games, maybe having
some jitters. I think you missed the Mario on the
first drive. Is that what was going on on that
play or with something else?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
No, I think just adjusting to the kind of the
weather out there. You know, I think, you know, the
first drive, I think you've got teammates around you and
you're coming out there and you know, pre game and
throwing and feeling good. So you know, I don't think
that was the case. I felt good out there today.
You feel I had a good rhythm, got in a
good rhythm at second drive, and from there just uh,

(07:48):
you know, it's a boundary throat to pop and just
missing a little high. But you know, from there, I
think I thought I was, you know, seeing it well,
and I don't think that was really you know, I
felt pretty good out there in the first drive.
