Speaker 1 (00:01):
Jared, congratulations. What was your reaction when you got the call? Oh?

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Man, it was it was so real. I'm still trying
to you know process at all. It was a long
night waiting, but you know, God put me in the
right spot to be a New England Patriot, and I'm
just excited for the opportunity ahead.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Jared is a Georgia center. Do you have any relationship
with David Andrews, who was obviously man in that spot
here for quite some time?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Excuse me, I'm sorry I didn't get the question.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Just as a center from Georgia, do you have a
relationship with David Andrews at all? Who is you know,
playing that position here for quite some time.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yeah, he came down to Georgia, I believe one time
and we spoke real briefly, like right before practice, and
that was the only time that you know, I ever
got to speak to him.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Jared, talk about your versatility. Obviously you played center, but
you can play guard as well. Talk about how that
versatility has benefited junior rear and how it can continue
to better for you.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Definitely.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
For example, I came into Georgia as a guard then
got moved over to center, so I think my versatility
brings you know, a very well a good aspect to
the offensive line in New England Patriots, and it just
brings my versatility out and play left guard, center, right guard.
Whatever they need me to do, whatever they tell me
to do, I'm all for it.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
You just made the move to center and you've only
had one season there.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
What allowed you to have so much success at that
position despite not maybe.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Having had as much time to practice some of the
other guys.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Honestly, just the preparation at UGA those first three years
where I was just sitting waiting my time and develop
and was I went against some great guys and Jalen Carter,
Jordan Davis, Trayvon Walker, Kobe Dean DeVante. Why I went
against elite NFL guys every single day of practice on

(01:57):
the scout team, and it was all just leading me
up for this season to have a great season.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Jared throughout the processor before both being sec lineman, have
you cross passed Will Campbell it all?

Speaker 1 (02:09):
And if you have, what was your impression to him?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
We actually trained together down in Texas, Frisco, Texas.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
With Duke Manyweather. Will is a great dude, funny dude,
He's kind of quiet here.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
And there, but like once you get to know him
a little bit, oh, he definitely opens up a lot.
Funny dude, got that Louisiana accent. He's definitely great due
to be around. And he's got a great work ethic
as well.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Jared, can you give us an example of will sense
of humor?

Speaker 1 (02:36):
It's kind of I guess I can't really describe it.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
It's just quiet, but then once he gets talking, it's loud.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
You know what I'm saying. It's it's funny to see
him open up and and and show who he really is.
He's a really good dude.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Jared, I'm curious you're not going to get to work
with Drake May a little bit more.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Just what are you familiar with his play at all?
And just can you tell us a little bit about
what you've seen from him?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
You are.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
He was a young QB going into last year rookie,
and I think he did a great great job was
trying to turn around that team and turn around that offense.
I haven't really seen too much of him, but he
just just texted me about ten minutes ago congratulate me
and texting him if I need anything.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
We have one.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Question that's coming from online him from Taylor Kyles to
Taylor Kyles.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
Go ahead, Jared, welcome to you England Man. Thank you, Oh,
congratulations on being drafted. You mentioned your work with Duke
manny Weather, and I was curious. He's had a lot
of success with the NFL guys. So what have you
learned from him and so far how has he allowed
you to build on your game and grow as a player.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah, Duke is one of those guys that he's just a.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Guru like he just wants he wants to know the game.
He wants to learn the game. He likes to He
trains the best guys. He taught me so much. But
I think one thing that I took away from it
was the film study that we went over and how
detailed it was twice a week. It was just it
was so in depth, and also getting on the board
and writing plays and just learning new terminology that comes

(04:11):
with what comes with the game at the next level.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Yes, thank you so much. Jared.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Could you look back on your experience on the national
championship teams.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
What was that like and what did you take away
from those years? Man?

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Those National championship years was. It was exciting times, it
was fun times. One thing that I can take away
from it is details matter. Attention to detail is it
is what wins games. It's not a game of yards,
not a game of feat It's a game of interest.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
And every step, every.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Every punch that you throw as an offensive lineman, every
thurw that you make as a quarterback, every single thing matters.
And it's a long, grueling season and you gotta lean
on the guys next to you to work together and
have connection to you know, you know, get past that
long season, and also we get to the top of

(05:09):
a super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
More and more? Did Zaber Trust tell you about living
in New England at all? Yet? He has not told
me anything about living in New England.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
I've heard great things from about New England from Trust
because it's Trust. But other than that, I've I haven't
heard pretty much anything.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Jared.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
One last thing, any any fun facts, things that fans
would be surprised to know about you before you get
to New England.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Uh hm, I give you one thing. I like snakes.
I don't think a lot of people know that, but
I love snakes. When I was well, I was twelve
on my twelfth birthday. I think my mom got me
a ball python that I had for about maybe six
seven months, and then we were moving and with our

(05:57):
granddad and he was like, yeah, no, that's not come
in my house. And I begged him for about a
week and I just had to give it away.

Speaker 6 (06:05):
Jared, on that note, anything like ridiculous that you've done
athletically that we might not know about.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
No, not that I can think of right now, at least,
do you want to stink down excuse me? Do you
own a new snake? Did you get a new Python? No?
But I will when I come up there. Good man, All.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Right, Jared, thank you so much for joining us tonight.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
We really appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Congratulations again, and have a good night.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Thank you so much. You guys have a great night
as well. Thanks Jed. Congratulations, Thank you.
