Speaker 1 (00:00):
How y'all doing good?
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Kay, Sean? How are you? I'm down here all right?
Speaker 3 (00:04):
My bad?
Speaker 2 (00:05):
No, you're good. You should gotta look down when you're
talking to me. What are your thoughts on how the
game turned in the third quarter sort of what led
to the offense finding its way.
Speaker 4 (00:16):
I think, you know, we started slow at the beginning,
just not efficient in the red zone, supposed to come
up with seven but often getting three. And I think
just coming into half kind of getting the idea of
what they was doing. And I think, like you said,
we came out in the third fire, so I think
just getting the field for it and everybody on the
same page. You know, we was never out of the game.
(00:38):
It was close, but I think it was also important
that we took the league at half too, So.
Speaker 5 (00:44):
It looks thank you guys were pretty excited for stuff
On to score his first touchdown of the season.
Speaker 6 (00:49):
Just how would you describe his role in the wide
receiver room this season.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
I'll say, yeah, like you said, I think I think
I was happier to him. I think if you look
back at the film, I ran from the right side
to the left. You know, two plays before was patting
on the goal line. You know, he was one yard away,
but I think it kind of happened like that in
Buffalo too. You always just a couple of yards away.
But great player, great guy, man, I love him. I
(01:13):
think it was good for everybody though. But I think
now that he got that feeling of the end zone
just getting started.
Speaker 7 (01:20):
Kayshawn, You've got a pretty good chemistry going with Drake.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
How much hard work and behind the scenes work has
gone into creating that chemistry between the two of you.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
I think, you know, the team only gonna be as
good as the receivers in the quarterback work. You know,
we're not gonna sit here and run the ball fifty
times a game. You know, you got a balanced offense
off so I think it was important just being there
when he needs me.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
It was that moment where touchdown, throw the ball in
the end zone, Drake's getting the MVP chant, the whole
place is going crazy. Did you see that as a
special moment in the game, or any other moment that, wow,
it's really gelling here, anyone moment that stands out or
is that it?
Speaker 4 (02:03):
I think we've been on the road the past month,
you know, so I think it feels good to be
back at home too, you know, scoring a touchdown like
you said, throwing the ball, then the MVP chance.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
You know, I was.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
I was joking with him last week about MVP too.
He don't like to hear it, but I mean I
think it's the truth, you know. But I think just
we got to keep it going, you know, halfway through
the season, we just honestly getting started.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
So yeah, Kashan, sort of a two parter, if that's okay.
You mentioned Drake, you think it's the truth with the MVP. Why, Like,
what do you see?
Speaker 4 (02:36):
I just say, hard work. I mean, y'all see what
I see. We all see it, you know. I think
if you look around the league at the other guys too,
I mean they doing great stuff too. But I mean
I think Drake doing everything they doing. It's not nothing
that he's not doing. And I think at the end
of the day, we're just playing football. We having fun
with it too, So, you know, just supporting my guys.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
And I just wanted to ask you about the pregame introductions.
I was asking Drake and Hunter about it. Coach Rabel
talked about wanting to create a little energy in the stadium,
give the fans a chance to maybe liven it up.
What was your sort of experience with that. Did you
feel that the difference from the past.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Yeah, I think it was cool. First time doing it.
I didn't know what to do though, so I just
kept I kept as simple, just kept runner.
Speaker 8 (03:20):
You appreciated Hunter up up nine to seven at the half,
that drive to start the third quarter, misdirection play, action,
trick plays. Can you just take us through that drive
and sort of how that maybe changed the flow of
the game.
Speaker 9 (03:34):
Yeah, man, credit to Josh. Josh made a lot of
I mean great calls and then you know, the guys
just went out there and executed. I just felt like
everybody needed to do their job. That was one thing.
Just focus on your job on that play, and you know,
obviously Trevyllan was able to get loose a little bit
make some some big time runs. Guys were you know,
finishing and that was that was big for us coming
out of half.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Hunter.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
How was your National tight End's Day going?
Speaker 9 (03:58):
Oh it's great, man, Uh, fantastic. There's nothing better than
GETNNA win on National tight End Day.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
And not exactly the most x's and o's type question,
but I was asking Drake about the pregame introductions and
just the change with that, and and coach Rabel mentioning
like you're trying to create a little energy, you know
with the crowd. I'm curious just what was your experience?
Speaker 9 (04:18):
Did you feel difference, a lot of improvement that we
need to improve on that it was a little disorganized,
but yeah, we're just trying to bring some energy to
the stadium. Obviously you start with you know, that is
kind of the start of the game basically with the
intros and stuff. But we obviously got to go out
there and make some plays early in the game too
to kind of get the stadium going. But stadium was
(04:38):
rocking today. Fans were great. It was a lot of
fun playing there.
Speaker 10 (04:44):
Hunter Happy National tight ends day. What it's been like
to watch the confidence grow of the wide receivers group,
just everyone on offense as this has evolved into what
you now have as an offense.
Speaker 9 (04:55):
Yeah, man, it's really cool. You know, I've been been
here for a while now and just to see the
growth to start, let's just start in the receiver room
has been really really cool with Booty and Pop and
just guys that have been here, been really really special
to kind of be a part of me and Hoop
were just talking about it this week. I mean, just
to see the growth on the outside and just the
plays they're making, confidence they're having out there. I think,
(05:17):
you know, Stephen Mack is at an element of just
you know, the veteran presence in there that's you know,
been really really special. And then to see the growth
of Drake has been has been awesome. Obviously he's going
out there and playing at a high level right now,
but just to see the growth from last year, it
is a lot of fun to go out there and
play with him.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
So see in the middle, hey Hunters. Similarly, for the
team itself, the entire team, you had success in twenty
twenty one, and then you've gone through a stretch of
disappointing times for this franchise and you've decided to come
back a couple of times and resign with the Patriots.
I to describe what it's like to go into the
locker room now and the feeling that you're experiencing five
(05:56):
straight weeks in the wake of this game, you know,
compare it to what you've been through the journey of
this team strategy for the last few years.
Speaker 9 (06:03):
Yeah, I think man, I was talking to my wife
this week. It's just a lot of gratitude.
Speaker 11 (06:08):
Man.
Speaker 9 (06:09):
I feel like God's put me here for a reason,
and I'm thankful to just be where my feet are,
you know, God. I feel like God has always had
a plan, no matter what it was, and I just
had to trust that. And it's really really cool to
be a part of this, to see that locker room,
you know, the week after week right now with you know,
a winning locker room. There's nothing better in this league
(06:31):
than winning. But I think also I look back on
those times of the hard times too, and I think
there was a lot of growth to really appreciate these
times a little bit more, to feel like God put
those things in my life for a reason. So I
don't you know, obviously those weren't fun times always, but
there was a lot of growth in those times in
the past to really appreciate this even more.
Speaker 12 (06:55):
That's a tough one to follow up. Thanks very much. Guys.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Struggle a little bit in the half, but it seemed
like you came out with a different spark in the
second half.
Speaker 8 (07:03):
Three touchdowns in the third quarter years the first What
change would you say at the half?
Speaker 9 (07:08):
I don't know if there was anything like crazy that
was said or anything, you know, different, just you know,
we knew we were close. We were moving the ball
in the first half, just kind of just some things
obviously didn't finish in the red zone. You know, if
we score one of those, you're feeling a little different.
At half. Just knew we needed to finish the drives,
and we just knew we needed to do a little
bit more, a little bit extra. Everybody focused on their
(07:31):
job and felt like we were you know, guys went
out there and competed at a high level for sixty minutes,
and we knew it was gonna be tough because I
mean they're especially offensively, they're a really really tough defense
to go against. I mean they have a lot of
good players, really fast, and I feel like, guys, you know,
we're able to answer the challenge.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Okay.
Speaker 13 (07:49):
I know the coaches, you know, they gave me a
lot a lot more opportunities this week, and so you know,
I'm grateful that I was able to help the same,
you know, come.
Speaker 5 (07:57):
Up with them.
Speaker 14 (07:58):
He said, they gave you mark.
Speaker 15 (08:00):
Do you thieve it's that something leading up to the
game and practices that anything was different.
Speaker 13 (08:07):
Honestly, you know, I come to practice each every day
and you know, I'm just focused on being consistent, being
the best that I can be. And yeah, you know,
however it goes come come game times. You know, where
I get little opportunities, where I get much you know,
you never know, you know, in the lead, and so
the biggest thing each and every week, you know, I'm
just gonna continue to come prepare as hard as I
can and just yeah, we'll see.
Speaker 7 (08:28):
Did you feel more comfortable out there today?
Speaker 13 (08:32):
You know, I I've definitely been getting more comfortable this season,
involved uh, getting more reps, getting getting more opportunities, different looks,
going up against different players.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
And so, yeah, how.
Speaker 9 (08:43):
Tough was it the end on the note with the
phone lay and you know what sort of what happened.
Speaker 13 (08:47):
Yeah, it's it's tough. You know, it's a learning lesson
for me, definitely. It's it's tough to go out like that.
But you know, that's something that we've been harping on
all season, just taking care of the ball, and so
that's something that we gotta continue to work on.
Speaker 9 (09:02):
When you're trying to get two hands on before it
can probably look.
Speaker 13 (09:04):
Like one of starting to shoot, honestly, I forgot they
have to so quick, and honestly I forgot.
Speaker 11 (09:11):
On a lot of those.
Speaker 15 (09:13):
A lot of those tosses today.
Speaker 16 (09:15):
Just was that something that you guys wanted to change
up and trying to get you in some space?
Speaker 8 (09:19):
Like whatever?
Speaker 13 (09:20):
What was your thought on that, you know, going going
into the going into this day. I think I think so, Yes,
I think they've been trying to give me a lot
more opportunities to get on in the space, and so yeah,
I'm I'm grateful that I was able to get those opportunities.
Speaker 16 (09:37):
Is it a huge adjustment to the pro game?
Speaker 7 (09:39):
For what the college atmosphere and what you play in
college is like bigger an adjustment to the NFL?
Speaker 13 (09:46):
I feel like, you don't. Each level is always going
to be as you have, you know, high school to college, college.
Speaker 14 (09:52):
To the NFL.
Speaker 13 (09:52):
You know, there's always going to be things you gotta
get to, you know, always getting faster. Guys are bigger,
guys are stronger, and so you know, eventually get a
cuss into it and able to play you know, at
their page the same place as the other guys.
Speaker 10 (10:05):
Talk a little bit about the halftime, what was said
amongst you guys, the adjustment you made and then how
go over your pick and following that you get a score.
How big was that for what you guys were able
to do today.
Speaker 14 (10:15):
Yeah, we came in at halftime and we look at
the game and zero zero. We got to go out
and win the second half. That's been one of our
key goals since OTAs that we've talked about win the
second half, win the second half. And I'm just really
proud of how our guys, how we came out, how
we we gave up that early touchdown and then we
locked in and we really played a great team defense.
Speaker 16 (10:36):
Robert over far right, can you just take us through
the interception and did you recognize that play from earlier
in the game.
Speaker 8 (10:42):
It seemed like a similar play that they called.
Speaker 14 (10:45):
It was a third down. We were blitzing. I was
covering the back he picked up in protection, so that
kind of lets me roam be a free read the
quarterback player. I'm looking from anything from the field coming
back shallow. Nothing came back shallow. So I was able
to make a play on the ball, and our rush
did a great job getting home. Give me the opportunity
to make a.
Speaker 12 (11:05):
Play, Robert, when you think about where this defense was
earlier in the year. I know a lot of teams
get better the more you play football, But what are
you proud of stuff with this defense last four or
five six weeks.
Speaker 14 (11:19):
Yeah, how we come to prepare every day. I'm really
proud of how our guys work. We got a room
full of blue collar guys that come into work to
get better each and every day, whether it's win, los,
or draw. So we're just gonna continue to get better
each week we go here.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Hey, Robert Judkins, coming off the three touchdown game that
he had last week for Cleveland, your run defense has
been stout week in week out. What do you say
about the rising to the challenge back like that, coming
in knowing they're going to try to establish the ground game,
and how you guys responded.
Speaker 14 (11:54):
Yeah, young quarterback, great running back. We knew they were
going to try to get to the run game early
and often. And I'm just so proud of how our
defense plays, our defensive line, in particular Dirt and Barmore,
Milton Tonga. These guys are eating double teams, ripping off blocks,
and making tackles. And when they do that, it really
(12:16):
puts a lot of ease on my job being a
second level player, and I'm just really proud of how
they continue to grind out the run game and get
the run stopped.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Last question Chris Ryan on the far left.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Robert, how would you describe this defense?
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Like?
Speaker 1 (12:29):
What's the identity of the defense?
Speaker 10 (12:31):
And it feels like the last couple of weeks have
been more impact plays any particular reason for that.
Speaker 14 (12:37):
We have a room full of guys that view themselves
as impact players, view themselves as game changing players, and
that's where it starts. If you don't believe that you're
gonna be a game changing player, you never will be.
So we have a room full of guys that want
to go out there make plays, want to help this
team win, and we're just going to continue to come together,
mesh together, and try to be the best defense we
(12:58):
could be.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Thank you.
Speaker 8 (13:01):
How much fun are you having?
Speaker 5 (13:03):
Having fun?
Speaker 16 (13:04):
We were winning a lot of robbers.
Speaker 15 (13:06):
Yeah, it feels good. Feels good winning for sure.
Speaker 10 (13:08):
It's a chemistry.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Like with the script right now, how would you describe it?
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Man?
Speaker 5 (13:12):
It's good.
Speaker 6 (13:12):
Uh man, It's like the Brothershood in here.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Man.
Speaker 6 (13:15):
You know, like I said, offense and defense work. We're close,
and I feel like that's what uhh, that's what's showing
on the field. You know, we played for each other.
Speaker 8 (13:24):
How import is it is it to get to know
your teammates as well as also know.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Them on the field.
Speaker 6 (13:29):
I think that's very important. You know, you gotta know
who you playing with, you know and playing for cause
you know, uh, we're playing for our brothers and you
know the the you know the words across our chests
and the words behind our back. And I I feel
like it. It it means a lot. Once you know
your brother many you know who you plan for, and man,
you'll you put it all on the line for them.
Speaker 17 (13:47):
You provided that first spark the other of the first
half there, I mean we're going into the locker room.
What happened? Was it kind of back to the drawing board?
Was it like you guys felt like you were just
chipping away and it was just a matter of time.
Speaker 6 (13:59):
Nah, yeah, I you know, we just had to get
the hang of it, you know it. It it be
like that sometimes a little slow start and then you know,
we come out, you know, we come out fire. It
just or we just need that one play and then
next thing, you know, so w we we start doing
our thing.
Speaker 5 (14:12):
But uh, that's once.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
We start playing that complimentary football, that's when everything just
that's when we start rising, when we're getting better.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Can you walk us through your big catch and running?
Speaker 15 (14:21):
Also? Did that just feel like another the same boots?
Chemistry may be.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
Improven with trad Yeah, nah for sure. Uh yeah that played.
Uh I seen they was a man, so I already
knew it was over with with that one. But uh yeah,
I just moved Grus to the side and you know
it was open, and uh man, my legs was heavy.
It was on the sideline for a little minute, a
little sideline for a little minute. My legs was heavy,
(14:44):
so man, I couldn't pick 'em up. So I tried
to shake and my legs was just stumbling.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
I feel given.
Speaker 17 (14:50):
Uh just everything you've been through with this team. W
what does it mean to just come back here as
the first place team yet welcomed by the crowd.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (14:59):
I don't wanna say up the other but you know,
I feel good.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
It feel good, man.
Speaker 6 (15:03):
Uh it just you know, uh, we got to keep
going the next next game. As we take one game
at a time. Man, I feel like.
Speaker 15 (15:09):
We're gonna keep getting better.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
Uh man, shout out to our quich.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
But you know the game plan that we've been having
and uh, I just pray that you know, we keep going.
Speaker 17 (15:18):
How how much you feel like you're established home field
advantage on it? How much was that kind of a
mission going in?
Speaker 9 (15:24):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (15:26):
You know, well we we want two here now. Yeah,
I hope we keep going honestly because you know, uh,
it's it's not it's not easy to win it in
the NFL, so uh it it feels good getting that dub,
especially home. Not seeing the fans, you know, the lid
turnt I love seeing that, you know, I haven't seen
that for two years, so being a fan, they probably
(15:46):
drunk right now, you know, but nah, I love you
know when driving out, you're leaving out and you see
the fans, you know, tail gate and stuff like that.
It's super cold out there and they still tell gate
and shout out to them. So you know, uh it
feels good.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
But what's the let seeing Drake bro the way he
has in in in front of.
Speaker 6 (16:04):
You man it it it it's amazing. You know, Uh,
second year a lot of people have that second year slump.
Speaker 15 (16:11):
Ain't no slump for him?
Speaker 6 (16:12):
And keep going and I pray that you know, he
he keep taking that step forward and he'd be one
of the greats from him. You know, we got twelve already.
You know time where you feel me. I ain't gonna
do no comparative but you but you know it.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
I'm just I'm proud of I'm.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Proud of it.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
I'll hard for you to see.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Steph get that.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
Oh lit man, I came off that side line storm
and uh did our celebration.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
He been waiting on that.
Speaker 10 (16:37):
Well, this is we this is eight eight.
Speaker 16 (16:40):
Yeah, we've been waiting on it.
Speaker 6 (16:42):
He been waiting on since uh fall camp hit celebration.
Speaker 8 (16:46):
So that was fun, that's right.
Speaker 16 (16:51):
Yeah, well we spoke up. That's all what happened. You know,
we just spoke he up, that's all they say.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
You the first thing since sliced bread. Let him know, Yeah,
talking about you.
Speaker 17 (17:02):
You got caught too.
Speaker 10 (17:03):
Nah.
Speaker 6 (17:03):
I told 'em about my legs.
Speaker 15 (17:04):
Heavy appreciate job.
Speaker 7 (17:09):
See, I mean we knew we had to come out
there meet their strip. You know, we knew they had
a good uh opening script. Uh, you know, we wanted
to go out and beat it, you know, uh, you
know the second drive, we kind of got things settled
down and you know, we start playing our brand of defense.
Speaker 15 (17:23):
How about winning the turnover battle?
Speaker 18 (17:25):
Hawkins comes up with probably the interception of the year,
Robert splane with another one. How much does winning the
turnover battle impact your ability to win and dominate games?
Speaker 7 (17:34):
It means a lot. Uh, we know that, you know, uh,
you win the turnover brought it. We got a pretty
good chance to win the games.
Speaker 15 (17:40):
And just how about eliminating some of those slow starts.
Speaker 16 (17:43):
You know you do give up.
Speaker 18 (17:44):
An opening dry uh score on the opening drive for
the third straight week.
Speaker 15 (17:47):
Now, how do you stop that?
Speaker 7 (17:48):
Yeah, I mean we tryna uh, you know, we just
gotta do a better job coming out start fast and
you know, uh being ready to go.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (17:55):
You know, we were gonna keep working on it and
we're gonna, you know, look to improve for the next week.
Speaker 15 (18:00):
You guys have been so good at stopping the run
so far this year. How much is that now just
embedded in your identity? And what makes you guys just
continue to be successful at that?
Speaker 7 (18:08):
Like you said, that's our identity. You know, you we
probe ourselves are stopping the run and you know, being
able to get to the quarterback. Wh any time to
do that. So when we keep doing that, you know,
we gotta do tests on winning.
Speaker 15 (18:18):
And I'm sure as a defensive guy, you can appreciate
a talent like Miles Garrett knowing what the.
Speaker 18 (18:23):
Offense was gonna go through and the challenges they were
gonna face with him on the other side of the ball.
How important was it for you guys to show up
and do your job today?
Speaker 11 (18:30):
Too?
Speaker 5 (18:31):
Very important.
Speaker 7 (18:32):
We knew special teams. We had to do a good
job on those and you know, create good field positioning,
you know, try to give our offense or you know,
good start when they're trying to get the ball, and
you know, do do a good job playing defense. You know,
we knew they had a good defense, and we wanted
to put prove that we had a good defense too.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Well.
Speaker 5 (18:53):
How hard is it to block a player like that?
It's hard enough to begin with, but then when he's
in that wide five technique, does that make it even harder?
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (19:00):
I mean he's a really good player. He beat me, uh,
you know a few times and just part of the game.
He gets paid a lot of money, and you know,
he got me a couple of times, and I just
had to keep coming back and keep fighting. Just why
we got to win, to.
Speaker 17 (19:19):
Be away for a month and come back and get
that wins. Just how big was it to have the
estalish that homefield vas again?
Speaker 11 (19:25):
Really nice, not that have to get on a plane
right now, be able to get in the car and
go home. But yeah, it's nice always playing at home,
playing in front of our fans, great atmosphere today. So
if we need it again next year, how.
Speaker 17 (19:38):
Much of a just like a flip of the switch.
I mean, what happened to the you know halftime there,
I mean just like was it kind of back to
the drawing board. It just seemed like a different kind
of productivity coming.
Speaker 11 (19:48):
Out and say that now we just had to finish
the game. Last week, we didn't come out and finish
the game the way we wanted to against Tennessee. That's
something we talked about during the week, is you know,
playing sixty minutes of our game and uh, you know,
even when things weren't going our way in the first half,
to come in at halftime, you know, talk about it
and just come back out defense made you know, a
(20:09):
bunch of great plays in the idea they've been playing
their ass off, making it easy. Well, just get my
short fields at times, and you know, kudos to them.
You know they're playing really really well.
Speaker 15 (20:20):
How would you just drive a chemistry?
Speaker 11 (20:23):
Yeah, growing every week. I think it's really good. Uh,
it's only going to continue to get better.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (20:29):
Yeah, we got a bunch of great guys, a bunch
of good players. So just working forward to the future.
Speaker 17 (20:35):
Appreciate thanks.
Speaker 8 (20:37):
It was good.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
It was a good effort, good team, good team win.
Like I said, we did our job just for like
you know, as a VLI we can do more, should
affect the game. That's just me though, But you know,
maybe I got high stand ups, but I just feel
like we can do a better job effecting the game,
effecting the quarterback, knowing that they gonna try to check
(20:58):
us out of the game, and you know, we gotta
be better. But it's better to win the game and
learn than lose. So you glad we haven win.
Speaker 17 (21:07):
You were talking this week about how the guys up
front could control the outcomes just with ther Hafick, you're
able to read. I mean, how much do you feel
like that did play out today?
Speaker 5 (21:15):
Yeah? Nah, I feel like I mean we were solid today,
But like I said, I I think I'm just a
perfections or something. Somebody be wrong with me. I just
feel like we we coulda did bore, We could have
affected the game more. But big win, I don't know.
I think we won by two or three score So
I'd rather win the game and correct mistakes and then
lose it.
Speaker 16 (21:34):
So how impoint is this Street TVs.
Speaker 17 (21:36):
The Fifty Years?
Speaker 5 (21:37):
I mean I didn't even know there was a thing
until like two weeks ago, so I mean I'm hearing
it now. So I mean, we just tryna stop the
run every week, knowing you gotta stop the run to
uh be a a rush. You know, that's what we
That's what we tryna do every week. You know, we
know who was that next week, Atlanta, So they gonna
(21:58):
try to they gonna run the ball to you. They
got one of the best back to league, so we
got so we gotta be ready for that challenge too,
and you know, just show up and do what we've
been doing all season.
Speaker 17 (22:06):
After the uh the first possession, you guys pretty much
locked down. But you know how how frustrating? What's kind
of that that starting kind of how'd you regroup after
that first drive?
Speaker 5 (22:14):
Uh? Same thing every week? They a lot of quick game,
a lot of you know, attacking the perimeter, quick throws
at the outside, and trick plays all that stuff. So
I mean, once you get out of that and you
really gotta do what you do on the season. You
saw that look like it.
Speaker 18 (22:30):
Felt like going up against Judkins was a focal point
for you this week kind of you know, you wanna
know how good this run defense is?
Speaker 13 (22:37):
Was that fair?
Speaker 16 (22:38):
Did you want did you want to see what you
guys could do against him?
Speaker 8 (22:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (22:41):
I mean we've been hearing and watching it on tape.
You know, he a good, good young player, good back,
I got a good front, and you know, they lean
they leaned on they run guys, and we wanted to
make sure that we took care of that today and
I think we did a pretty good job of that.
Speaker 19 (22:53):
You guys talked about the importance of winning at home
all week. You know, what does it mean to start
getting wins at home, hopefully stack them and have the
crowd so into it. We even heard the crowd breaking
into MVP chans for drink today.
Speaker 5 (23:05):
Nah, it was big. I saw it was a it
was a packed stadiend of the day, and I told him, Man,
we gotta get this thing in rocket, somebody make a
play and let's try to uh get that momentum going
and roll with it.
Speaker 19 (23:14):
Did you see the Jalen Hawkins interception replay yet?
Speaker 5 (23:17):
Nah? What happened?
Speaker 19 (23:18):
Ain't he just it was like a really nice interception,
wasn't it.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
I ain't even think I was. I saw, uh the
quarterback just throw it up. I don't know if anybody
caught it, but I saw he was running with it.
So hey, you know, we trying to get turned over
the week, so I'm happy for him.
Speaker 12 (23:31):
Nowhere is this defense growing most? Do you think since
the the very start of the season.
Speaker 5 (23:36):
I think we've definitely just gotten closer, uh since training camp,
just consistently being around each other and just getting the
communication there. I feel like our communication getting better and
better and just just all together and shes improving every week.
And I think that's important when you were building the
defense and you wanna, you know, keep stacking wins and
keep you know, affecting the game.
Speaker 16 (23:59):
That you said earlier on that you had maybe you
have high standards. Are your students going up? Is this
group as a whole? Are you expecting more from yourselves?
And and and and what is it in what areas?
And what's that look like?
Speaker 5 (24:11):
Just dominating? Just my thing is just dominating whoever we play,
whoever line up in front of us. Uh, I don't
care who they who. Gotta figure out a where to win,
especially one on one match ups. If you getting double,
find a way to win. That's that's just meaning. But no,
like I said, I feel like we did a good
job today. Let's just keep it going, keep it going,
keep uh, keep building together. And you know sky's limit.
Speaker 12 (24:34):
What's the secret when it comes to run defense, guys,
it to its attitude. It's approach.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
I mean, you gotta wanna you gotta wanna stop and run.
Just get on the balls in your hands right, having
your hands in the right spot. You know, crass uh
resetting a lot of scrimmage and edge wash swinging. So
what coach break ball? Always preaching the edgewah warm, set
the edge, create a wall everybody getting to the ball.
And you know, hopefully we can try to create some
(24:58):
more time.
Speaker 15 (24:59):
Lad, what's a progress you can natures of getting more plays.
Speaker 16 (25:02):
Tackles for losses, interceptions.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
If it look the last few weeks, that's been big.
Speaker 15 (25:07):
For for this defense to come of taking a step forward.
Speaker 7 (25:09):
To that area.
Speaker 5 (25:09):
Yeah, there's something. This is some momsing and preaching always,
you know, try to crery some negative players so we
can get the opportunity to go rush and affect the game.
Brush and cover and you know the Lions will get pressure,
tight coverage in the back end. Let's get some PBUs turnovers,
whatever we can do to try to help get the
ball back to number ten.
Speaker 17 (25:28):
Thank you, Thanks,
