Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, Marcus, how's it going, man?

Speaker 2 (00:02):
How you doing good?

Speaker 3 (00:03):
Good?

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Congratulations on getting picked. Uh first thing actually nothing to
do with football, but I saw you were in a
couple of commercials down at Missoure. Is there acting in
your future? You know, while you're playing football and twofold?
What's it like just navigating the n I l kind
of lifestyle in college these days.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Oh yeah, So I got a commercial deal in Missouri.
I got it from a connection from where I transfer
from SMU, and uh, yeah, it was a really good deal.
We we have fun during the commercial. And I have
a history of like trying to become an actor. I've
actually been been working on that when since I was

(00:49):
a little kid. But I don't know what the future
holds with with acting and stuff. But if the opportunity comes,
then I'll be ready for that.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
All right.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
The next question, Mike Giotti.

Speaker 6 (01:05):
Congratulations Marcus. What was it like when you got the
phone call?

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
It was it was like a dream come true. Like
I didn't think it was real. Like I was just
in my living rooms just watching the draft, you know,
just preparing for the future, and and whom they called me,
and it was just a surreal moment.

Speaker 6 (01:28):
I just it was crazy. Did you have any contact
with them prior.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
To Yes, sir, yes, I had thirty visits with them
and met with them before PROTA as well.

Speaker 7 (01:40):
Thank you, congrats again.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
The next question Chris Price.

Speaker 6 (01:46):
Hey Marcus, welcome to New England. Yes, sir, was was
curious if you had any thoughts about the Patriots when
you were growing up as a kid. Did you root
for them? Were you a fan of Tom Brady? Were
you a fan of New England? How is it watching them?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah? You you gotta you gotta love the Patriots, just
growing up watching them and watching the culture of the
team just grow as a as the years ago. I
think it was a it was a hell of a
hell choice to go over there, just know what the
culture was growing up.

Speaker 6 (02:22):
And yes, thank you, because I.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Think you're breaking up a little bit. If you can
maybe walk back to where you were before. We had
great research over there. Yep, we got you back, all right.
Well head to the next question from my grease.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Hey, Marcus, Ada came on a little bit after you started,
so I apologize if I'm repeating a question I heard
you mentioned that you visited the Patriots before the draft,
And I'm wondering how you would describe their interest in
you compared to maybe any of the other teams in
the league.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Yeah, they showed me interests first, out of all the teams,
they showed me the most interest.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
During pro day.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
They I met with a scout and he just kept
showing me comfort during the pro day and stuff like that.
So I had a good feel for them. And then
they brought me up for a thirty visit and going
up there, mean with all the coaches and going through
the plage and stuff like that. I think it was
a good deal for me, me and them and Marcus.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Did you have any other thirty visits with any other team?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Oh, yes, sir. I went to the Ravens, and I
also went to the.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Dolphins and my last one. And I apologize if you
answered it before, your reaction to getting drafted and and
you know where it came, and like, did you think
it was gonna happened?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Man, I'm gonna be honest, Like, I didn't think it
was gonna happen.

Speaker 6 (04:04):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
First, you know, they really wanted me. They took the
chance on me, and and I owe I owe it
all to them.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Congratulations. Thanks for taking the time for us.

Speaker 6 (04:18):
Thank you, yes, sir, and we'll do.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
Two more questions here, Dinam and Sean maclire.

Speaker 8 (04:25):
Hey, Marcus, congratulations. I know you transferred to Missouri last year.
So you played last year with armand Membu and you know,
did you what was it like, you know, playing with
him and sharing the room with him, and you know,
I guess did you pick up any pointers along the way.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yeah, me and Olmo we were really good.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
We're really good friends.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
We you know, our bond is pretty good on the
old line and you know, our bond is a little
bit closer because of their tackles, So we we kind of
understand each other from that aspect. I think we we
messed again other as a group really well. And Yo,
our mind's one of the funniest dudes in the room.

Speaker 8 (05:06):
And then in terms of like specific you know on
field skill set stuff, you know, anything you kind of
picked up from him.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah, we we kind of bounced back off each other
just with tips and stuff with like past pro and
run block and stuff like that. It really it really
helped me, helped me elevate my game, yes, sir.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
And last question from Sophie Weller, Hi Marcus, congratulations on
getting drafted by the Patriots and welcome to New England.

Speaker 7 (05:37):
My question would be for people who might not like
for fans who might not be familiar with your game,
just how would you describe that and just what you
can bring to the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Man, I'm gonna give them a all. You know what
I'm saying. I'm every single time on the field, I'm
gonna I'm gonna give them everything I got. I'm a
i'm a protake, I'm a run block, I'm gonna do
whatever it takes. I'm gonna do my job and come
on on top every time.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
Marcus, thank you very much for joining us. Congratulations again
and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Thank you.
