Speaker 1 (00:00):
After going through filming or whatever, What did you see?
What kind of thoughts did you have on the open
that you can take in a week too?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
The same you know thing I kind of echo when
I talk to you. As far as like the execution,
you know, I feel like it was the first game.
Obviously there's gonna be some things we need to iron out,
and watching it on a table kind of got the
refresher like we need to be on the details, and uh,
you know, we kind of got what we needed, so,
you know, having some time to think about it flushed it.
We went on to the next weekend. We're trying to
be better.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
How good do you think you can be against Miami
as a group?
Speaker 2 (00:29):
I mean, obviously they got some they got some good
ball players over there. They got a great, great defense
that flies around. So kind of looking forward to the
challenge as always, But I just got owning on the details.
It's more about us rather than everybody else's as far
as like we got to do everything in our power, details, route, depth,
getting open cast of all the same ship that.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
We get paid to do.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
So that's the more of the focus.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
The body feel like all I felt good.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
I actually missed the mister contact portion that as far
as like getting hit a little bit, so I look forward.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
To getting back out there. You know, I'm more thankful
for anything.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
You know, I hate leaves, and obviously I wasn't too
happy about that. But at the same time, it took
a lot from it as far as like me getting
back out there and you know, getting acclimated again and
geting some contact and you know, catching.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
The ball again.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
It's gonna be a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Did you feel like you kind of got stronger as
the game went and if so, was that kind of
a positive for you?
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Uh, not so much.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I came in pretty confident as far as like how
I felt body wise. It was just more so just
getting back out there, you know, the first game of
the season. It's no different than if I never got hurt.
As far as like that first game, you kind of
kind of get adjusted again, and uh, you know, I'm
around a bunch of new guys too, as far as
like getting their temperament and their energy, and you know,
you know, I'm still learning. You know, it's still new.
So as far as like getting stronger, I felt pretty strong.
(01:39):
I just you know, wish it wasn't really I.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Would you appreciate it, say, looking back on it now,
this is what I love to do.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah, it was like, uh, you know, we weren't winning,
so like it was for a moment, I couldn't be
too happy. But as far as like, you know, this
isn't a selfish sport like for me, I just kind
of took my little moment to be great, great, be
grateful and kind of basking where I us. You know,
I'm back doing what I love, uh, trying to play
at a high level of getting open catching the ball.
So I had my moments where I was like this, damn,
(02:06):
I missed it so much, and you know, I'm just
so thankful to be back whereut uh what I love
to do. You know, for me, I had that moment,
but at since I was losing.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
So it's like a bitter sweet You.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Talked on Sunday about light sweat a little bit.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
You talked today about how Drake's hard on himself and
help you. You know, you guys need to lift him up.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
What does that look like to you?
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Is it having direct conversations with him throughout the.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Uh No, as far as like uh going on the
practice field. You know, I feel like the coaches do
all the uh, you know, kind of the preparing. We
kind of do our portion, but they put us in
the best situation.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
To be successful. So for us as a receiver, you
just want to have that open dialogue, especially with a
young guy. He can play at a high level.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
So just being there for him consistently, I think a
lot of positive reinforce and rather than like, you know,
ripping a guy would be obviously helpful, so I.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Think he could take it.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
I feel like he's a he's a tough guy too
as well. He's not like he's not a soft year. No,
I would never say that. So as far as like
just being informed.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
And having an open dialogue.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
You see something, you know, let me know that open
line of communication and being a receiver.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
You know, it's I'm mad it. It's like he's a
big quarterback.
Speaker 6 (03:10):
You talked about details and that game. That's something that's
been echoed by a lot of guys on the offense.
Is there anything that you feel like you can do
differently as your group in terms of your preparation on
offense going.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Into this week.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yeah, kind of kind of expanding on that point.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
You know, the details part of it is just it's
I guess it's just like the main thing for us,
you know, as far as like having skilled guys and
how many guys actually make players at a high level.
It's all about the details and you know, as as
like that communication during the week before you get to
the game, so you're prepared for anything that could happen
out there.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
So I just feel like taking that next step is.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Going to be crucial, you know, as far as like
being on the details, having the open line of communication
before the game. You know, things kind of happen on
the fly and you got to adjust, but it's good
that we got it out the way and moving forward
trying to be on the up and up. How does
building report with the quarterback different when you're going up
against the zoning team or zone coverages versus more men.
I don't think it differs too much. I just think
it's more so just doing your job for for like,
(04:04):
you know, this is the same football we all been
playing for a very long time. This isn't there's not
a brand new you know a lot of new coverages
out there. You know, you're just moving pieces and you know,
different guys with different jersey numbers. So as far as
like building that report. Just be where you're supposed to be.
You know, you'll build that as you get open and
catch the ball. So I feel like that's how you
build a report, That's how you build that relationship, just
get open and catching it. How would you appreciate the
(04:24):
road and going into hostile territory too?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Click?
Speaker 6 (04:27):
You?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
How fun when you do that? You getting out of
there with the win most important?
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Yeah, I was about to curse again. I'm sorry. It's
super exciting, especially.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
For me, Like you know, I like going in with
my guys, going with my teammates, and you know, it's
us against the world. Like I feel like a lot
of guys react well as far as like putting it
back against the wall. So you know, we didn't start
off too hot, and obviously we got a lot of
fixing with just us. So going in there with the
right mindset is gonna be key, you know, and trying
to play fast. So for me, I'm obviously excited.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
To get back out there.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
This is only gonna be my second game, so obviously
I'm excited. I just want to get back to work
right now.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
How confident you can be grow individually by your as
you go week to week now, through everything that you've
gone through, that first game and all those kinds of things.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Yeah, it's good. Like obviously getting tackle helped a lot.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
You know, I didn't want to escape that game without
getting hit a little bit, so I was seeking a
little bit of contact.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
And I don't really love to get hit at all.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Obviously I'll play receiver, but I needed it a little bit.
I needed to get out there and hit the ground
a little bit, catch a couple of passes. So for me,
I'm just trying to build off of it. Obviously, I've
been playing the game for a long time, so I
know what it takes to you know, prepare the right way,
get out there, and you know, you only can put
yourself in a position to have an opportunity to win.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
It doesn't mean you're gonna win, but you can do
everything in your and your power to put yourself in
the best position.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
So that's why I'm doing that.
Speaker 7 (05:38):
It's the point in terms of just seeing the stuff
for last game and what you think is correct, well,
how much.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Of it do you think is quickly correct?
Speaker 2 (05:45):
I think pretty fast, like I saw like that first game,
you know, you get out there.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
You haven't seen these guys.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Obviously you're gonna watch take from last year, You're gonna
watch the preseason.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
But uh, it's always a tell of two stories.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
So for us, I feel like it's the things that
we need to fix is more of us out than anything.
It's never like really the other team. Like obviously guys
have skill, guys that can play in the all world
life for example, like Max Crobby is an amazing player.
What I'm saying, I feel like we could have do
the better stuff on the outside, trying to get open
fast or trying to.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Be where we're supposed to be.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Obviously we live in that realm of just farming your
own land, like I trying to find my own land,
like b where you supposed to be, de open, catch
the ball and we'll kind of figure it out from there.
So the fixes that we can do, I feel like
it's more internal and just with us. So trying to
take that next step and just doing our parts.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Yeah, I say, find me online. You can't listen.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
If I could go block Max Crobby, I promise you
I would try, and I would not do a good job.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
So I just gotta do what.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
I can you see what you want to get up
there right now?
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Yeah, hell yeah, I'm obviously a little frustrated, but I'm
trying to smile it off.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
But I'll be seeing y'all in a couple of days.
Appreciate y'all, Thank you, thank you. Thanks.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
We're getting getting ready to prepare this week our first
practice and so you know, you know, uh yeah, I
got a couple of good.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Days of practice and see how everything goes.
Speaker 7 (06:59):
What is your match just in terms of the impact
you're trying to have it done in Miami.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Yeah, the biggest thing, you know, we got to prepare
hard and put the work in, you know, each and
every day, and so our preparation will really prepare us,
you know, for the game and for Miami.
Speaker 6 (07:13):
Mike talks about the culture after that first game and said,
you know, it's on the leaders of this team to
really turn the page. How well do you think the
leaders in this locker room have done in terms of
flushing that and moving on to Miami.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
I think they've done a good job. I think the
biggest thing is starting with our head coach, coach Brabel.
You know, he is you know, he has done a
really good job of helping us. You know, you know,
the biggest thing is like we gotta we gotta get
through this. You know, we gotta get prepared for Miami.
You know, these these weeks they go by quick, and
so yeah, you know, we got to let go of
what happened last week, and the biggest thing is how
(07:50):
can we learn and grow from the mistakes we made
and prepare for Miami.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Just how are you.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Feeling now with one regular season game under your belt
in terms of how you can go about your Remora?
Speaker 6 (08:00):
Now?
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Yeah, you know, I'm feeling good.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
I thank God for getting me through the first one
and so now signed for the second one and so well,
we'll see how it all goes.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
You know, I'm excited. How much of a load off
is that.
Speaker 7 (08:11):
Just getting the first one under your belt now?
Speaker 4 (08:13):
Like stride, Yeah, you know, it feels good. You know,
it's great first regular season game. It's definitely different than
the preseason. But like I said, you know, I'm thankful,
you know, I'm thankful got a long season ahead and
so got to keep it going.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
How would you evaluate the run game on Sunday? And
what's the key in kind of getting things.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Going a bit more m Yeah, I think the biggest thing,
you know, we gotta prepare just all across the board,
not just the run game, but and you know, the
whole team.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
You know, we gotta we got a lot, a lot
of work to still do.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
And so yeah, we got practice today, a long week ahead,
and so got to get ready to prepare.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
How dynamic do you think you can be on this offense?
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Consider the line about why, and yeah, you know, I
thank God for the you know, the abilities and gifts
He's given me, you know, but it's it's a lot
of work that God of continues to go, you know,
go in it. And so the biggest thing for me
is just like I can't just rely on the gifts,
like I got to be a good steward and try
(09:15):
to you know, come to practice every day and work
as hard as I can and try to push myself
and not get complacent. And so I'm always praying, you
know that that God continues to push me outside of
my comfort zone. And I feel like just being in
this organization, being under coach Brabel, you know, he definitely
does a good job of doing that and just pushing
all of all of us outside of our comfort zone.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
So we can get better.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Mark, He's a big a challenge yeah, this week with
what they have.
Speaker 8 (09:40):
Yeah, first off, Miami is is a great team. They
have explosive you know players on offensive side and everything
like that, and have great players on the defensive side
as well.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
The challenge of wide receivers all you know, all the
way through Hell Company.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (09:55):
The offense, they work really good off of timing Tyreek
you know, fat vertical threat and everything, and then Wada
as well.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
And how much is disrupting that timing? You know, Mike
talked about having to you know, have both the secondary
and the d line working together and sink. How important
is that?
Speaker 8 (10:12):
Yeah, Team defense is a big part whenever it comes
to teams like this. Uh, you know they have eighteen
as a running back and everything he does. He has
a very big pivotal role in their offense. And then
making sure you know, we mess up to time and
is very important.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
How much is limiting those explosive plays and emphasis.
Speaker 8 (10:27):
This week especially with this team, Oh, it's very important.
It's important every week, especially with this team. For sure,
we're going to see these guys two times a year,
so making sure that you know, we take it one
week at a time and kind of go from there
is very.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Important for a while. Now, what's so difficult about going
down there to play?
Speaker 8 (10:43):
People talk about the heat a lot. Yeah, it is
pretty humid out there, but I'm originally from the South,
so like for for my sake, it feels like great
weather out there. But yeah, heat is a big thing,
you know, especially being up here, a little bit of
a difference and everything like that, and humidity plays a
big role when it comes to playing those guys.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
Obviously, was just one game, but did you notice any
noticeable differences in the Dolphins offensive high around?
Speaker 8 (11:07):
I wouldn't say I've noticed a whole bunch of differences.
You know, they always motion twenty four to seven on
every single play, so we always make sure to communicate
on those things. But they try to get their playmakers
the ball at the end of the day, so that's
mainly their offense for sure.
Speaker 7 (11:21):
Marcus, So, Mike Desols thrower, He's gonna do with the
team for at least a couple of days, depending on
Zach would probably be the one who assumes that role,
because Zach was doing that during the spring. And do
you feel more comfort with that with that sort of guy,
and you feel comforted just in general with the sort
of change there.
Speaker 8 (11:36):
Yeah, everyone in the building. We're always on the same
page when ever it comes to those things. So I
have no doubt in Zach at all.
Speaker 7 (11:42):
What did you learn about Zach during the time that
he was sort of calling shots if you will?
Speaker 8 (11:46):
Oh yeah, both of those guys, Ta and Zach. You know,
whenever it comes down to just being in a room,
their their energy and everything is top notch.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
So I love that from both of those guys.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Did you will talk to you guys about his thief?
Speaker 8 (11:57):
Yeah, he did talk to us about it and everything,
and he was talking about that exactly. End up, you know,
playing a big role and then we're there to support him,
you know, twenty four to seven and everything.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
So totally brief with him before it's troll.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Like, oh great people.
Speaker 8 (12:10):
You know, he always lets us know, you know, the
things that we do good and if we're not doing
something good, you know, the standard day he has for
us and the team, and at the end of the day,
he's he's one of those guys to always, you know,
keep it honest with us. So we love them for that.
Speaker 5 (12:26):
Yeah, just like what U said, it starts with us,
So you just got to hold each other to a
higher standard and continue to improve.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
What's the challenge of a road game to begin with?
Going down to Miami, you guys, you know it's going
to be hot, what have you? What's the take physically
mentally to come out of there with a win?
Speaker 5 (12:41):
Yeah? I think just all loving us being tied in,
playing next to each other together, great communication, especially when
you're on the road. Depending on however louder it's going
to be, whether that's mixed up to cadence, whatever that is.
Well'm sure we'll talk about this week goes on, but
the biggest component is just communicating with a guy to
let your left and your right and sure all leven
are tied in
Speaker 6 (13:03):
M
