Speaker 1 (00:01):
DJ and it maybe just take us back to the
interception and what you saw.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Just going through my ratedt s third down, just thinking
stick concepts, seeing the receiver race and shifts, so that
gave me an indicator of just the type of route
he was gonna run. And I just trusted my instincts
from there and it took over the front road.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Do you uh with uh Christian not not playing and
and uh Carlton not playing? Uh you and Alex and
uh of guys getting a lot of opportunities uh right
out of the gate. How much how important is it
for you to, like with the interception, to make a
statement for yourself as to why you belong on this
team and to make your case.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Each and every day. I try to come in and
just show my teammates and my coaches that I'm someone
that wants to be on this team. Someone's someone that
wants to, you know, just help improve this team and
just ready to come to work every day and be
a great teammate.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Yeah, and drove to that if.

Speaker 5 (01:01):
You could just take us kind of through y where
you've been uh mentally the startup camp, start of OK's
everything to to your confidence and how it's growing uh
on it seems like a daily basis, and how how
much fun it is for you.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Just taking it each and every day, learning the scheme.
Talking to my coaches, they really helped me a lot
coming along the way, just pushed me itch and every day,
and also my teammates. I gotta thank my guys on
the other side of the ball as well. They pushed
me every day during camp just for this mo these
moments here.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Yeah, how long you ever know?

Speaker 6 (01:32):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (01:32):
DJ?

Speaker 7 (01:32):
We were t talking with coach Rabel who mentioned he's
seeing real improvement for you, uh since the start of
a rookie camp in your mind about your game? Where
is the biggest improvement come from?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
My confidence? My confidence at corner, just knowing I got
that play style, that swagger with myself that I know
I can go out there and just compete with anybody.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Fo right, my brief, DJ, how would you describe sort
of your journey in the NFL at this point, you know,
starting in Seattle and then up here last year waiting
for your turn and just sort of how would you
sum all that up?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Just really just taking it day by day, you know,
everybody's story is different, and just waiting on that opportunity
to just showcase myself, and that time is coming. So
I'm blessed to have that opportunity.

Speaker 8 (02:27):
Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
How y'all doing, Trevion? Uh just take us through? You
know people I don't some hadn't even gotten to their
seat yet when you uh took off. What was that
feeling like? Take us through the whole run? And and
what was the celebration like for your teammates afterwards?

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (02:47):
Shoot, I was surprised myself. But you know, I give
all thanks to God. You know, I can't do what
I do on the field without him. You know, He's
my strength when I go out there, and I give
thanks to my teammates. You know, the guys up front,
you know they they did a good job of blocking
things up front and clearing the path for me.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Triviaon for someone getting into their first live game action
in the NFL, you know, years going through high school, college,
always dream of that first moment in the NFL. What
was it like finally getting in touch the ball and
then having a moment like that.

Speaker 9 (03:21):
Yeah, Like I said, man, I just thank God because
this is something since since I was a little kid.
You know, something I've been dreaming about to be in
this position, position, to be given this opportunity, and so
I'm thankful, you know, I'm just trying my best to
take advantage of every opportunity I get. And so, but man,
it's amazing man to be here, to be at an

(03:41):
organization like this, such as the Patriots, and so yeah,
you know, I'm excited, you know, to continue to go forward,
you know, with the season.

Speaker 10 (03:51):
What's going through your mind when that run is starting?
And at what point do you realize I have an
opportunity to take this to the house.

Speaker 9 (03:59):
Uh, shoot, honestly before you know, it's a lot of nerves,
and so I try to take the time before the game,
you know, to just pray and cast my worries, you know,
give it, give it to God, and just you know,
asked that he just may have his way, you know,
whatever he wants, however it goes. You know that I
may just come out thankful no matter what. And so,

(04:20):
but when I got the ball, yeah, honestly, like I said,
I wasn't even expecting that. And then when I saw
the crease, you know, it was on from there.

Speaker 11 (04:27):
And so yeah, trivia and many young players have their
ups and their downs in camp when they come into
the NFL. I heard you describe tonight as someone who
was the same player every day at practice. That suggests consistency.
How does a young player like yourself manage consistency in

(04:51):
this level every day?

Speaker 9 (04:53):
Yeah, I think the biggest thing that helped me is,
you know, my purpose and the reason while I play
this game. You know, God caused me to work as
hardily as for him and not to please men, and
so I just try to come in with that mindset.
You know, being in the NFL, being a young guy,
second round draft picks, it's a lot of pressure, you know,

(05:14):
and sometimes it's hard, you know, you know, with all
that pressure being on you. But you know, the biggest
thing is just I try to keep my eyes on
the Lord. You know, I know, no matter no matter
what happens, I can come out here and give it
everything that I got. And whether I have a good practice,
bad practice.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Good game, bad game.

Speaker 9 (05:29):
You know, I know God loves me and He's always
here with me, and so that just that just motivates
me to just keep going every day. You know, I
have my ups and downs as well. You know, some
practices are good some practices are bad, but I just
try to keep learning and getting better.

Speaker 5 (05:45):
When did you realize you had it?

Speaker 4 (05:47):
You had that?

Speaker 5 (05:48):
That? And did you look up a couple of times
at the video screen? It looked like you looked up
to see if people were coming at you.

Speaker 9 (05:55):
Yeah, I thought, I thought the kicker was gonna get me,
so I had to make sure I hit the gas.
But yeah, that's that's when I knew once I got
past a kicker.

Speaker 12 (06:05):
Wow.

Speaker 10 (06:11):
What do you think the Patriots have in the running
back room with yourself? For Andre and Antonio? And how
do you see each other kind of complimenting one another?

Speaker 9 (06:20):
Yeah, I think we do a good job of just
feeding off one another one another energy. You know, I
know in practice, those guys motivate me. You know you don't.
You don't always come out of practice motivated, and but
you know, seeing other guys go and just competing with
the other guys, it pushes me a lot, you know,
it helps me get going. And so in same same
with the game. You know, I know it's just one

(06:40):
game so far, but just seeing seeing Remondre start off,
seeing Antonio getting there, you know, just feeding off that energy.
You know, I think I think we all do a
good job of doing so. I appreciate tatn.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
We talked to you earlier in camp about you's just
smiling all the time. It looks like you smile it again.
How much fun was that for you? What were your
thoughts on your NFL debut and what you were able
to accomplish.

Speaker 13 (07:07):
Yeah, you know, it was awesome, super surreal. You know,
you kind of walk out the tunnel with everyone. Been
a blessing, you know, be here and I don't. I
don't take it for granny, you know, I got to
go out there and play. So definitely super awesome, super
thankful for the opportunity.

Speaker 14 (07:23):
To walk us through that screen pass where I don't
think you scored, but you came.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
You were I guess tackled inside the five.

Speaker 13 (07:30):
Yeah, just knew it was coming to me and knew
I had to get vertical to go try to get
the first down or you know, I don't exactly remember
what down it was, but I wanted to just kind
of get vertical, let the let the linemen get out
there block for me, and kind of just go make
things happen.

Speaker 6 (07:47):
After the position that you're in, how do you balance
the pressure of trying to get make the most out
of every opportunity when when coaches are watching, and at
the same time not let that pressure get under your
skin and and affect your ability did play your game?

Speaker 13 (08:00):
Yeah, I think at the end of the day, you know,
it's football. We've been playing our whole lives, and you know,
for me, I kind of just think about it like
like I'm back at my high school or back in
my college, you know, and go out there and just play,
let loose, be free, you know, because once you start overthinking,
over analyzing stuff kind of kind of can catch up
to you. So just kind of being loose, being free
and just going out and playing.

Speaker 9 (08:23):
And then Drake may mention you block your butt off,
and that's something you're usually close to the formation. So
I'm curious, what's your mentality as a blocker and why
is that so important for your game specifically.

Speaker 13 (08:32):
I mean it kind of started in high school. You know,
my coaches were always honest about blocking. You know, We're
never gonna get the ball off it don't block, and
so I kind of always just carried that over and
just doing all the little details, you know. I feel
like just being a receiver that can block, you know,
that can open up opportunities to get on the field,
you know, So whatever I can do to help the team.
I feel, like I said it before, but if I'm blocking,
if I got a full cross block, whatever it is, man,

(08:53):
I love blocking, So just trying to be around the game.

Speaker 8 (08:58):
After coach Veryable said that your play strength is something
that stood out to him today. How much pride you
take in that and is that something that doesn't that
can't really fully come out until a game like situation
like this.

Speaker 13 (09:09):
Yeah, I think anytime you know, you kind of get
a you get a compliment from a head coach, it's
definitely an honor. So I appreciate that from him. But uh,
you know, I feel like just playing hard, you know,
that's kind of what I pride myself on, and the
little details and going out there and doing everything I
can to my my full ability. So I feel like
when I got the ball, I got to uh kind
of show that. But even like kind we talked about

(09:30):
the blocking, you know, I try to show down the
block running and blocking and the route running whatever it is.

Speaker 15 (09:34):
Kind of playing hard, I think, can you just sort
of sum up the whole camp to this point, Like
thinking about some of the highs, the lows, and how
you've navigated the camp.

Speaker 13 (09:50):
Absolutely definitely, you know, ups and downs, you know, just
being a rookie, trying to understand the NFL and you know,
the different defenses, the terminology, the uh, the business side,
you know, trying to just deal with that. But man,
it's been. It's been such the biggest blessing and the
biggest honor to be here in to play in the
National Football League. I don't think I'm not taking it
for granted, you know, I don't. I hope the guys

(10:11):
in the locker room aren't either. But man, we're the
one percent of the one percent, you know, just taking
that each day opportunity uh presents itself, trying to take
advantage of it.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
Appreciate you guys, Yeah, go ahead, Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 13 (10:27):
Appreciate you guy.

Speaker 8 (10:30):
I think so. Uh, you know, stuff to learn from,
stuff to clean up, good, to get out there, you
know for the first game, you know, fiel it out. Uh,
you know, just continue to stack.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Almost put out fifty points.

Speaker 8 (10:42):
I mean, what does that tell you as a team
where you're where you're at right now? Yeah, man, we
just you know, came out here, Uh, and you you know,
trying to put our best foot forward, and you know
everybody was ready to play today.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Yeah, yeah, thanking a couple of times.

Speaker 14 (10:57):
You know, Well, how'd you feel you you get out
there just in your matchups?

Speaker 4 (11:01):
I feel like I did good. I feel like I
took advantage of my one on ones.

Speaker 12 (11:04):
You know, some things just out of your control, and
you know, we would just pick up where we left
off at Sunday.

Speaker 14 (11:10):
Right, that's the grasp of the offense coming so far.

Speaker 12 (11:12):
For it's been coming smooth, going over the play each
and every day, continuous day and night, just trying to
know the playbook like the back of my hand. So
I'm still working at it and I'm still trying to
learn every position.

Speaker 14 (11:23):
Looking forward to having a couple more passes sent your
way and then your future, you know, thinking about that.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
Oh yeah, most definitely. But I mean that's out of
my control.

Speaker 9 (11:31):
You know.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
At the end of day, all I could do was
just get okay.

Speaker 14 (11:33):
So we saw the video of the NFL put out
of Tom Brady's you know kind of video for New
Jersey and all that, and today, I don't know if
you saw the statue or you know, on the jumbo
tront or anything like that. But did you were you
able to look up at all and see the see
the statue.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
No, I miss it saw you know.

Speaker 12 (11:48):
I gotta go see it probably tomorrow on my own
and get a good little glimpse of it. But I mean,
just having that jersey from him, and just having that
message that was sent directly to me, I mean, it's
an honor where you got the.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
Goat, you feel what I'm saying of football.

Speaker 12 (12:01):
To be able to hear those words from him, I mean,
it's just inspires me and it encouraged me to do
a lot of great things.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Yeah, surprised, and nah, it actually did catch me on guard.

Speaker 12 (12:12):
I was like, once they turned on a little thing,
I was like, okay, And then once he said my name,
I'm like this for.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Me, huh.

Speaker 12 (12:18):
And then they gave a gift and I'm like, nah,
y'all doing it a little too much, right, y'all doing
it a little too much.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
But I enjoyed every minute of it.

Speaker 12 (12:25):
I got to I'm waiting for it to get shipped
to me. So once it does and it's going on
the front wall for sure, is that something.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
That resonates with you? Just Tom Brady the old days.
I mean, is that something that you knew about or
you had.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
To learn about.

Speaker 12 (12:40):
I mean, I think if you don't know about Tom Brady,
then you need to look at yourself in the mirror.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
I mean, he's an icon to this, to this sport.

Speaker 12 (12:47):
So you know, when you have certain people like that
that give you those type of messages, it lets you
know that you're doing the right thing and that you
have the traits and uh qualities to take your game
to the next level.

Speaker 7 (12:58):
Do you think you can do it off today preseason game?

Speaker 4 (13:01):
Oh? Most definitely. I feel like it's a lot more
room for me to grow.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
Uh.

Speaker 12 (13:04):
I'm not complacent. Uh, I definitely want a lot more.
So I know I'm go'a have to get back in
here and ken Ti to work harder.

Speaker 14 (13:10):
Alright, thanksure, Okay, thank you man.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 8 (13:13):
I appreciate thank you.
