Final score at thirty three fifteen right here in Foxborough.
Paul Parillo, Mike do So, I'm Quannilnis. Thanks for checking

late you might have worked tomorrow, but there's.
Speaker 5 (00:58):
So much to talk about in this one.
Speaker 6 (01:00):
We're here for take the day off.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
Tell your boss.
Speaker 6 (01:01):
We said it's okay, right, we said, so we won't
be taking the day off.
Speaker 7 (01:06):
Well, hell's here, but uh no.
Speaker 6 (01:09):
Heck of a win by the Patriots tonight. Just a
great start. I thought they came out in all three
phases and played pretty well and you know, got that lead,
and that's just it set the tone for the whole night.
I thought, in the Marcus Jones punt return, what can't
you say about him already another fabulous play on an
outstanding season from you know, captain and overall, just to
(01:29):
pull together and get this kind of win.
Speaker 7 (01:30):
Really special teams, you know, the key to this game.
I think they were directly responsible for twenty points in
the first half. And you know, to Mike's point, you
wanted to get off to a good start. You wanted
to make sure you got the lead and didn't give
you know, a two to ten team any any hope.
And I think the special teams really allowed the Patriots
to just completely put it on cruise control in the
(01:52):
second half. So good solid team effort tonight. I thought
they had a lot of a lot of intensity early
in the game. I thought the physicality was there and
this was a good business like win to head into
the buy.
Speaker 6 (02:05):
Yeah, just just to take a moment, I mean, to
get to eleven and two for a team that I mean,
not a lot of people thought this team was getting
a double digit wins, much less get into eleven at
the end. Of the straight and straight. It's just a
remarkable testament to turn around of this team. And you know,
tonight it felt like they looked like they took care
of business against the team that didn't really look like
(02:25):
they had much interest in being here tonight, in honestly.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Which is what we've been asking for against these terrible teams.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
Yeah, and you've seen some fight from some of these
younger guys.
Speaker 8 (02:33):
I was a little surprised.
Speaker 6 (02:33):
I thought that, you know, Jackson Dart was going to
come in here and kind of let it rip, and
the Patriots just never really got them, gave them a
chance to get going. The second they started to get
something together, put a scoring drive together, Patriots defense bounce back,
force a punt, and the offense will respond by scoring points.
So just a really nice complimentary win. I think, just
a great way to go into the bye week. Well deserved,
(02:54):
get some rest, let some guys heal up, but also
just some some contributions for some other guys that you know,
you might not expect it coming in tonight. I think
it's just a positive sign for the culture of the
team that you know, we didn't save it Aarian Lowe's
name wants tonight, see what she looks like.
Speaker 8 (03:10):
But you know, overall, just.
Speaker 6 (03:11):
I thought they really pulled together well tonight to get
this win tonight.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
Well, let's get into it, the good, the bad, and
the injured.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Now it's time for the good, the good, pretty good,
the bad, what happened?
Speaker 1 (03:25):
And the injured.
Speaker 7 (03:26):
Ah ah, you are right guy, all right.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
By the way, Patriots fans this month, well, for the

Speaker 5 (03:59):
Of course, well art with the.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
Good Yeah, Drake Man got a good Yeah Drake May
let's put him in.
Speaker 8 (04:04):
I mean he deserves to go first.
Speaker 6 (04:05):
And another game, Paul, where I felt like right from
the get go, it was like, yeah, he looks on
tonight you could just tell he look comfortable, didn't seem rattled.
Speaker 8 (04:14):
That first drive really good.
Speaker 6 (04:15):
I mean, it ended in a field goal, but I
still just could tell that he was feeling it tonight,
which was a great sign when he didn't have Will
Campbell there, he had a couple of new offensive linemen.
But just another vintage Drake May performance throwing that deep
ball to Kyle Williams. He's been doing that kind of
stuff all year long, and it's just a lot of
fun to watch. Another great performance in him. No turnovers,
(04:38):
no real May sprays, none of that kind of stuff.
Took a couple of sacks, that's fine, happy to see
him do it. Not try to force situations like that.
Got a little hairy down the end. I think Paul
and I were a little bit like, hey, let's just
get out here with the win.
Speaker 8 (04:51):
Why are we trying to force it to that later?
Speaker 6 (04:53):
But overall I just thought this was another, you know,
vintage Drake May twenty twenty five game, making some big
throws on big downs when he had to have it,
make some big touchdown throws.
Speaker 8 (05:02):
So yeah, he's on my good list for sure.
Speaker 7 (05:04):
Yeah, you know, everything Mike said that, just that, like
the two touchdown throws, especially the one of Kyle Williams,
just you know, special, special, throws. We've come to expect
it now, you know, these these passes downfield that are
like extended handoffs to me, like, he's just so accurate.
He doesn't complete every one of them, but they're almost
all on target, and I just I continue to be
(05:27):
amazed by his accuracy on the deep balls. And yeah,
I agree with Mike that he was he was at
the top of my list. Just you know, to move
move on. I'm going to say the special teams in general.
I alluded to this, you know in my opening thoughts.
But you start off the game with a thirty nine
yard kick return that gives you the ball at midfield,
(05:48):
so sets up sets up a field goal drive. You know,
there's three points, and you get a ninety four yard
part return by Marcus Jones, the most electric punt returner
in the game. There's ten points. You then force a
fumble on a kickoff, which leads to another you know,
short field for them, and then they had they had
(06:10):
one other play. Now it's escaping me that gave him
a short field. They had scoring drives in the first half. Yeah,
they had scoring drives in the first half of forty
nine yards for a field goal fifty eight yards, which
led to the Kyle Williams touchdown, a fifteen yard drive.
(06:34):
You know that in the field goal special teams, you know,
you get some problems with your personnel on the offensive line.
You don't know what it's going to be like, so
you need, as Mike said, that complimentary element of the game.
I thought the coverage was excellent tonight. The return game
was rock solid. I thought you had a couple of
good returns in the kick game. Obviously, the explosiveness with
(06:56):
with with Marcus Jones just really good situational football. You
were able to make plays, give yourself a short field,
you get twenty to thirty points. I think directly as
a result of your solid work on special teams. You
didn't have to do a tremendous amount on offense tonight
because you had short fields that you were able to
take advantage of. So that was that was a strong
(07:17):
one of my good lists.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
Yeah, I mean, I love how you said it right
off the top with the kickoff return Terrell Jennings an
unexpected place, but immediate field position right out of the gate,
even when you don't get a touchdown. You just felt
like it was a really solid start for them offensively
and you know they're ready. They're ready to play tonight,
which I think was a question we all had a
little bit. The energy felt a little weird. It's been
a long week, but great start for the whole team.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Yeah, special teams also at the top of my list,
just because the transitions between each down, like just I
don't know, it was very exciting to watch.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
I mean, Marcus Jones going.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
For it just like all right, every kick return, I
want to see a return for a touchdown. Obviously you
can't get that every game, but it was really exciting too.
Speaker 6 (07:57):
So I think he joins three other Patriots all the time.
They have two pund turns into season season Irving Friar
in eighty five, Mike Haynes I think was seventy eight,
I believe they said, and Troy Brown in two thousand.
I think what those are the numbers? Those are the
three other guys. But he's been a weapon, and just
again on a night like tonight where you just want
to try to make it as easy on yourself as
possible to get these kind of returns from Marcus Jones
(08:19):
just quickly, quickly, quickly put the Giants into a hole
and you could tell what kind of game it was
going to be.
Speaker 7 (08:25):
The other special teams play was when the other team's
kicker kicked the ground. Oh, yes, the gave the field.
They took advantage of twenty twenty of the points directly
is I mean, I don't know if you want to
credit quote unquote credit the special teams for that play.
But the special teams I thought was instrumental in setting
up fields the whole team.
Speaker 6 (08:45):
You have one of those golf shots, Paul, where you
actually hit the ball about four inches, but at least
your golf club will like go through it.
Speaker 8 (08:51):
I guess your foot. Your foot doesn't mention.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
There's a formal term for that, A chunk, a chunker.
Speaker 8 (09:00):
Hunker you're hitting.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
I don't make up.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Check myself.
Speaker 7 (09:05):
Someone said, I don't care. I don't care for that.
I don't think you can.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
I'm going to fact check myself and I'll get back
to you guys on that.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Well.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
Fred just joined us with a lovely donut after.
Speaker 7 (09:18):
Just started the good.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Yeah, at the beginning, we did Drake may Right Special.
Speaker 7 (09:23):
Team, and we did special teams for setting up consistent
short fields the whole first half that the Patriots were
able to take advantage of ye led directly to twenty
points out of the thirty points. Do you have anything
you'd like to Christian Ellis?
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Yes, that's definitely with his hard hitting wondering which team
he's playing for. My god, not good. I don't think
that was.
Speaker 7 (09:48):
Oh absolutely the one chefs you're not. I'm not talking
about the one on dart on the side of a
helmet to helmet, but yeah, when it's when it's in
a pile like that call home, that's when they called it. Yeah,
they like when the guy is all wrapped up in defenseless.
Speaker 9 (10:07):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (10:08):
Yeah, this is the definition of a helmet to helmet. No, yes, no, yes,
a pizza coming from.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
He actually turned his head.
Speaker 7 (10:23):
I did have the physicality of Ellis in Mapu was
on my on my list, Freddy, So I was on
the same wavelength with you, with Christian Ellis. I thought
those guys brought some energy, might use the word energy.
I thought those two guys personified it. Yeah, and I
agree with Freddy's singling out of Ellis. I thought he
was really active in the game and physical.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
And I wrote Ellis for that, and I wrote Spicy game.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
When they had the little riff like an eighty four.
The adults against that retaliation penalty.
Speaker 7 (10:52):
No problem with the Giants. I'm a Giants fan. That
made me happy, exactly.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
But I think that's kind of the spark.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
I know that at the beginning of the spark for
ellis being able to stop that twelve yard rush from
Jackson Dart and then that turning into like the the
spicy rivalry that we expected, despite the fact that may
one team may not be.
Speaker 7 (11:10):
As good as this is a total aside that we
don't have to spend any time on. Okay, but in
this league that they're trying to sort of have the
players sort of police themselves and you know, do different things.
This hit as clean as a whistle. He's inbounds, it's
a shoulder hit. There's nothing against the rules about this hit.
(11:33):
But in a league that's trying to cut down on injuries,
concussions and what it's kind of the definition of an
unnecessary roughness play even though it's not a penalty, Like,
can't you just nudge him out of bounds and do
the same thing? Yeah, that's all, it's all. Yeah, I mean,
it's it's like I said, there's nothing remotely.
Speaker 8 (11:54):
You should ask against the r there's just nudge them.
Speaker 7 (11:57):
There's nothing remotely against the rules about hit, and I
don't want a penalty. I'm still mad from two years
ago when Cincinnati got called for one of these NAFC
Championship game on Mahomes. Same thing. You know, he was
right on the sideline and the guy hit him. It
was unnecessary and he got called, probably because it was Mahomes,
(12:19):
he got the call and Cincinnati ended up losing the game.
I think that set up the game tying field goal
and the Chiefs may have won. And oh, I forget
which game it was, but it was one of those.
It was the second time that the Bengals and Chiefs
played in the AFC Championship game. Yeah, it was a
very similar kind of hit. Wasn't dirty, was right on
the sideline, guy hit him, and they called it, and
(12:40):
I think it was a bad call. If they had
called this, I think it would have been a bad call.
Speaker 8 (12:44):
This was clean.
Speaker 7 (12:45):
He's clearly still in bounds when the contact is made.
But I'm just saying, if you want to try to
like police your league and have the players police themselves.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Well now you're going to have to figure out how
to help players when to do that and when not
to because you know, God forbid the time that somebody
lets up in the quarter, I want him to line.
I don't want him to. It's now, it's like I
don't want.
Speaker 7 (13:07):
Him to let up, like you have to. I'm saying, like,
do you have to light him up?
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Well, you know, like you're going full speed, like this
is a kill shot right right, He's got like he's
coming from the he's going, he's sprinting.
Speaker 7 (13:19):
And he's launching himself at him. Like I'm just saying,
like if you want this is not a penalty, and please,
I don't want this being twisted. This is not a penalty.
This is a good hard football play. It's a really
good play by Christian ellis.
Speaker 6 (13:33):
Good shoulder, I mean, is there. I'm thinking the youth
hockey game where like somebody kind of stops near the
goalie and then the defense came over and like gives
them a shove and then I'm.
Speaker 8 (13:44):
Like, all right, guys, back off, no call, Like that's
the kick.
Speaker 6 (13:48):
Spraying the goalie. That maybe should have been you know,
but I.
Speaker 7 (13:53):
Know Johnson responded the way he did.
Speaker 9 (13:54):
Yeh.
Speaker 6 (13:55):
But but if it wasn't something extreme that he didn't
throw a punch or anything, and he just kind of
runs over him, pushes him like I mean, I guess
at that point in the NFL, you gotta call it.
But if it was youth honky, it might let thee. Yeah,
I get it, you're pissed, but you know, no punch
is thrown.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
But you don't want the refs over officiating in games
like this, And hen's why I understand where you're coming from.
But for someone that came back from concussion protocol this week,
for him to take a hit like that, you would
think that he'd be pulled to the side and at
least ask what his birthday is or something. Didn't get
hit in the head, well, I know, but the way
he went down it was just again I see y
(14:31):
THEO got really defensive of like, hey, my quarterback quarter
very you know, gradual at this point.
Speaker 7 (14:36):
But that was And I think that Fred's singling out
of Ellis is a good one because he, I thought,
was the guy that kept showing up right down to
the last player of the game, you know, meaningless play
at the end of the game. But he gets his
hand on that pass on the fourth down to to
end the game the last play, so I thought he
had a really active game and was really physical from
start to finish. We made a couple of hits on
(14:58):
kickoffs other than the one on Olszewsky too. He was
involved in some of the other kick coverage place time. Ye,
he won for Elis Freddy. I like the l inclusion,
not just because we're going to be talking to him
later either.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
I'll give you another one, can I.
Speaker 7 (15:12):
You can give as many as you're the boss man.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Stepping in and stepping up Durden. I you know, even
though the run game he wasn't that great.
Speaker 6 (15:20):
He flashed terrible, always getting some credits from Mike Rabel too.
Speaker 7 (15:25):
No, no, I'm sorry, I'm thinking the other way around now,
I'm sorry. Yeah, I'm thinking the Patriots run game.
Speaker 6 (15:32):
I'm with you, fred I don't know, I don't know
how many. And we're seeing one of his tackles right here.
He didn't, you know, light the world on fire with
his stats. But I just like the energy and Paul,
you know, kind of joked that he was celebrating a lot.
But his Rabel's talking about in the in the press
conference afterwards, he was with the Giants. So this was
a team that you know, gave up on him that
he wanted to play well against, and just to not
have Tonga or Milton Williams. To see Durden out there
(15:54):
bringing the energy making a couple of plays. I mean,
you know it wasn't like, oh we had three sacks
or anything like that. But still just I like the
energy and I like.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Stepping in and stepping up.
Speaker 7 (16:02):
Yeah, I agree with that with Dirden, go ahead.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
I was gonna say Hunter Henry again, just another you know,
classic Hunter Henry game, coming through with some big catches open,
you know, wide open, and you should have had a
touchdown if there wasn't some penalties. But you know that
twenty six yarder or sorry which one was it?
Speaker 8 (16:19):
The twenty yarder on the second and last drive.
Speaker 6 (16:21):
Like you know, they didn't score on that second last drive,
but they just they moved the ball a little bit,
they ate some clock, and you know, Hunter Henry led
the team in receptions. I just he just continues to
be mister reliable week and week out. I mean it's,
you know, four catches for seventy three yards. It's you know,
not like he's lighting the world on fire, but you
know that's the most yard is and I mean you
had a bunch of guys. I mean again, it's just
another game where you know, three catches for Henderson, three
(16:42):
catches for Hollins, three catches for Diggs, three catches for Douglas,
four for Booty, three for Stevens. I mean, the ball
just continues to be spread around. But Hunter Henry in
the guy to have it moments when it's not Diggs,
it's almost always Hunter Henry.
Speaker 7 (16:54):
Yeah. And the stepping in and stepping up category Venderian
low Yeah, I don't really. Yeah, there was a play early.
There was a play the Giants had two free rushers
coming in and they sort of knocked each other off course,
and there was pressure coming to Drake May, right right
to Drake May's face, and that allowed him to understand
(17:17):
that he couldn't just set and throw. And had he
not had that pressure, I think Brian Burns may have
killed him because that was the one play that I
noticed Badarian Lowe really got beat badly.
Speaker 9 (17:26):
But that was it.
Speaker 7 (17:27):
And I'm not saying he won every other rep. I
didn't see him get beat badly all night. I thought
he competed from start to finish. I'll probably get some
static for this line too, But I'm sorry I didn't
notice the difference tonight between tonight and any other game
in terms of they left tackle play well.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
Right on cue, we have Christian Ellis joining us after
the win. Congratulations, Oh thank you guys, appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
Hey, Christian, just what was the Mike Babel's message to
the team this week? You guys have had, you know,
a few games, your Thursday night, Sunday night, kind of
a long week here. What was the messages you went
into Monday, this Monday night football game before you're bye?
Speaker 10 (18:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (18:02):
For us, it was like what what can you do
to help the team this week? I think that was
the main message. And then the other one was run
and hit with violence and.
Speaker 8 (18:13):
I think you did that.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
You were leading that show.
Speaker 11 (18:17):
Yeah, now, well that was that was literally our message
is just leave it all on the line, and you
know we got bye week, so what's the point of
holding back?
Speaker 3 (18:27):
So are you already home on your couch?
Speaker 11 (18:29):
Like where are I'm still in the facility.
Speaker 8 (18:34):
Already in the lazy boy.
Speaker 6 (18:35):
Early by week you ask you, Christian on the play
on the sidelines with Dart, you know you had a
clean shot at him, he's still trying to stay in bounds.
You make the hit, But what's it like for you
at that moment after where you know they're coming after
you because you just hit their guy?
Speaker 8 (18:47):
How'd you get away?
Speaker 11 (18:49):
You know, I expected it, you know, if that was
if that was Drake, I would expect the same reaction
from our offense.
Speaker 7 (18:56):
You know.
Speaker 11 (18:56):
For me, I was I was so excited about the
hit that I was more. I was more ready to
celebrate with my teammates. So try to get out of
there as fast as I could, go celebrate with my guys,
and you know, give all the glory to God. So yeah,
that's that's those my mindset. Really after the hit, I
wasn't really thinking about I was kind of shocked when
I shouldn't have been shocked.
Speaker 7 (19:16):
Shocked try to hit me like that? Yeah, it was
you said you wanted to bring the physicality and the
violence that I thought you did that really for sixty
minutes ten tackles tonight. You know, you're in the passing
lane there at the end of the game, just to
really solid all around performance. How do you build on
that now? You know as a defense, the way you
(19:37):
guys sort of responded tonight to the challenge. How do
you guys build on that as you head into the
bye week?
Speaker 11 (19:42):
Yeah, I think, you know, it's a good This bye
week's a good opportunity to like self reflect. It's a
good opportunity to look at what we did do good
and what we need to work on. So I think
that's the number one thing with this bye week is
just getting better. Even when we aren't playing a Sunday
night game or whatever game it is, just take the
opportunity to self reflect and grow from it.
Speaker 8 (20:03):
What does this mean for you right now? Christian?
Speaker 6 (20:05):
You guys have won ten games in a row. You
were here for a couple of years before this. You know,
you were kind of a special teams player. Now you're
you know, really blossoming on the defense. You guys have
won a bunch of games. You've completely turned this thing around.
What can you say about the journey for you this year?
Speaker 11 (20:18):
You know, for me, I give all glory to God.
He has blessed me immensely. He's given me the ability
to play this game. So you know, going from you know,
last year, my role last year, and going to this year,
I'm nothing but grateful, grateful for the opportunity, and honestly,
this is the best locker room I've ever been a
(20:39):
part of. Guys. I'm willing to ride for guys, I'm
willing to put my life on the line for And yeah,
so it's been a good year and we just hope
to keep it going.
Speaker 7 (20:48):
So Christian, if you can think back this far you
talk about this being a good year, do you remember
back to the off season when you sign an off
for sheet with the Raiders and maybe how thankful you
are to be a level in two instead of two
and eleven or whatever the readers.
Speaker 11 (21:02):
Yeah, you know, it's been that's been such a long
time ago that I haven't really thought about that.
Speaker 7 (21:08):
I hadn't thought about it either until you just said
about the long journey. Yeah that's a good thing.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Yeah, yeah, oh.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
That long journey though mentally we were talking last week
about just getting that late by and having to physically
and mentally push through. Obviously, now the bye is here
for you guys, But to your point, how do you
mentally make sure you guys are staying staying locked in
as we close out this regular season?
Speaker 11 (21:34):
Yeah, you know, it's just making sure we don't we
don't hurt ourselves this bye week, making sure that we're
still sitting on top of our film, staying on top
of who we have next, and really, like I said
self reflecting, it's not a time to take the foot
off the gas pedal mentally, you know, physically, yeah, and
make sure we recover, we do what we need to do,
(21:55):
but mentally we got to stay locked in. We got
to make sure that we come at and play the
same way way we have been.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
It's well earned by for you and the team.
Speaker 7 (22:05):
Yeah, thank you, Couch, thanks a lot, Thanks Christians, congratulations,
thank you guys.
Speaker 8 (22:14):
Stuff all right, sounds exhausted.
Speaker 7 (22:16):
Yeah, he does. He was just I think Fred's right.
He just kind of looked like he was chilling.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Where is that.
Speaker 7 (22:22):
They have a lot of area backs.
Speaker 5 (22:23):
They haven't been back there in a while, lounging areas.
Speaker 7 (22:27):
We walked through there now when we go from the
media work room.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
To the to get your Chick fil a.
Speaker 8 (22:34):
Sometimes okay, and I go, I.
Speaker 7 (22:39):
Go with Mike now and we go through we go,
we go through the bank. Yeah, so this is all
kinds of like little areas back there.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
Good get by pr to get us christ Yeah, No,
really good game for him.
Speaker 6 (22:51):
It's been just interesting to watch his development. Like I said,
he got here he was really a core special teamer
and they liked him. I mean Paul brought up the
Raiders signing him to an offer sheet. I think that
offic she was to replace Robert Splane. Patriots said no,
we want to keep Ellis too, And you know you
saw tonight. We don't know what happened with Robert Splaine.
He was out a little bit, so there.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Was no announcement as to his status. So I don't
know what's going on with him.
Speaker 8 (23:14):
Yeah, let's let's check the snaps.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
But I think Gallis earned a third S in his
last name. You know, he has two I know, for
every baby. You know how like in college you get
the little stickers on your helmet, he gets s's and
off the LA for savings, SA, saving the defense, solo tackles.
Speaker 6 (23:36):
Solo, soloplaining. They played thirty six snaps, which is about
two thirds, so usually he's in every snap kind of guy,
So something to keep an eye on. Maybe he got
sick today. I don't know, See I fable has anything.
Speaker 7 (23:47):
Is a good call going around? Yeah, because clearly they
had something going on with Bradbury today.
Speaker 8 (23:55):
I didn't run off the field, so it didn't look
like he was, you know, had an injury.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Really to me at but do we have any more
goods before we move Jeremiah Farms Junior.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
And it was mainly off of the so I was right.
Speaker 9 (24:06):
It was.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
It's called the chunk when you hit chunked.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
Yeah, exactly, So we're gonna call a young host chunks
kick and so Jeremiah was credited with the sackle that one.
But also the last few weeks we talked about people
getting elevated, stepping in and stepping up coming off of
the practice squad and just you know, being there when
you needed them, needed him to be there, So I
added him on.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
The list for that.
Speaker 6 (24:29):
I had Marcus Jones. I think it's more Yeah, well yeah,
but you gotta go touchdown host electric.
Speaker 9 (24:38):
Ye.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
Who else?
Speaker 8 (24:40):
Anybody on to the bads? Anybody you have?
Speaker 7 (24:43):
Oh yeah, we're individually, you know, Kyle Williams. Ask him
to make a catch. He makes a catch, you know,
a touchdown. Yeah that was great, great, can't play but
yeah no I didn't. I mean, it's weird because the
game was never in doubt. Fred knows I was sleeping
in the late latter stages of.
Speaker 8 (25:01):
The first.
Speaker 7 (25:03):
And I didn't really have a ton of goods. I
just thought it was a good, solid, complimentary team win.
Speaker 9 (25:09):
Yep.
Speaker 7 (25:10):
And I think Mike's point in the open about you
know you're heading into the by you're sort of worried,
you know, what have they got left? Are they running
out of gas? But no signs of that. Seventeen point
first quarter, a lot of energy early in the game
for the team, a lot of physicality, But I didn't
have a lot of different elements of the game that
I thought, Wow, they were really good at that tonight,
(25:30):
I'm really good at this tonight. May was really good. Yeah,
for sixty minutes he was really good. Again, he didn't
really run the ball that well.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
It made it look easy.
Speaker 7 (25:39):
Yeah, So yeah, it's weird that they won so easily.
And I don't have a laundry list of brides on.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
My good list, so it was kind of like last
week too, Yeah, the top of my bad list. Well,
and it was specifically off of I didn't expect the
Giants to well, I knew they would score, but I
didn't want them to score anything. No, I knew they
would would hope they would score just for the sake
of competitive football. But I did write red zone defense
because it was frustrating to watch After that twenty two
(26:05):
yard run for a touchdown, they were able to get
the two point conversion, and again talking about making bad
teams look bad, that was just a situation for me,
where's they shouldn't have been able to do that. He
easily went in and we could watch it right now.
But it was just frustrating to watch when bad teams
are able to score at all.
Speaker 5 (26:22):
And that's why I had to put them on the list.
Speaker 6 (26:24):
Yeah, you had, like to Both their scores came from
like just outside the red zone. I mean, this was
a shades in two thousand and eight.
Speaker 8 (26:31):
I get it.
Speaker 6 (26:31):
I mean I just think overall, you know, the red
zone defense, and even I mean it's hard to call
it the.
Speaker 8 (26:35):
Red zone defense, I guess that.
Speaker 6 (26:36):
Yeah, It's just it's just you got to be better
as you get into your own territory. And that's been
an ongoing theme with this Patriots defense this season. You know,
this one was frustrating so much time and what Jackson
Dart does though, I mean it's you know, you got
to give him a little bit of credit.
Speaker 8 (26:51):
He's he's good at doing this kind of stuff.
Speaker 6 (26:53):
But no, I mean Giants didn't have a lot of chances,
but they made the most of them when when they
got down there and got close.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
So yeah, on the other side, goal to go offense
continues to be an issue.
Speaker 7 (27:07):
Yeah, red zone offense was at the top of my
list right from the first drive of the game, you know,
the one at the end. I sort of, yeah, I
think there's there's some other factors involved there, but yeah,
I mean the first drive of the game, you got
a short field, you get down in position goal to
go and you can't score. You know, I was disappointing,
(27:28):
especially coming on the heels of last week.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
It's just it's a it's a trend and it's not
a good one.
Speaker 6 (27:33):
No, it's I mean, I just say the you know,
the short yardage, the third and twos of the world
are getting to be dicey.
Speaker 8 (27:39):
Uh you know the third one.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
What do we think that issue is?
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Like?
Speaker 3 (27:43):
What is going on?
Speaker 7 (27:44):
The bottom lines? They can't run the ball?
Speaker 8 (27:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (27:46):
Yeah, yeah, so they had a second and one, they
got a nine yard pass in this game. They had
a second and one stuffed, third and one stuffed.
Speaker 9 (27:55):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
It's just they need a Garrett Blunt. That's a good name.
Speaker 7 (28:01):
I mean, it's not the it's not the guys carrying
the ball.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Yeah, you know, you just don't think the holes are
being opened.
Speaker 7 (28:07):
They're just not, especially in short yardage. This penetration on
almost every short yardagel.
Speaker 3 (28:12):
This tongue that changed that. If he's in, I mean,
I mean all of a sudden, we're looking at it.
Speaker 7 (28:17):
I don't think that's I really don't think he was
all that much.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
I don't know what it is.
Speaker 7 (28:23):
I mean they had like I know, people are gonna
make fun of this too, Like they had one twenty
six yard run late in the game when the game
was over. You know, beyond that, they're averaging well under
you know, three and a half yards they carry. Yeah,
they had seven, and I thought Stevenson ran really hard.
To he ran hard. Yeah, yeah, he's just twelve for forty.
It's just the production's just not there. You know, Henderson
(28:45):
ends up with eleven for sixty seven, but again twenty
six on his last carry of the night or one
of the last carries of the night. It's just not
they're not opening up enough holes. And this is you know,
It's easy for me to say like, well, you're missing
Campbell and Wilson tonight, but it's not been any different
with them or without them. I actually think Ben Brown
is a pretty good run blocker. So I don't know
(29:09):
what the answer is, Freddy, but they haven't been able
to run the ball consistently this year.
Speaker 6 (29:12):
Seven runs stuff, seven times that they were stuffed in
the backfield for game.
Speaker 8 (29:18):
I mean it's they kick it out of there.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
That's not good and that's something we need to do
some self scouting on during the bye see what's going on.
Speaker 7 (29:28):
I think Stevenson's you know, consistently moving the pile, but
they just there's just nothing there. This is Henderson on
this one. But I you know, I don't know if
it's zones. I don't know if it's you know, if
it's you know, as you know, the gaps and the
you know, the power with duos, as Ev likes to say,
I don't know what the answer is. But whatever they're doing,
(29:50):
it seems once in a while they'll crease one off
tackle and get a get a gap. Tonight there was
like two kind of misdirections Dad Henderson, who was able
to score it through and there was maybe one or two.
You know, I think Stevenson's long was nine, So they
weren't there just weren't a lot of pulls time.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (30:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (30:12):
For me though, when you add these things up, this
is now looking at the playoffs, it's like, this is
the stuff that gets you beat. If you can't score
in the red zone and you can't stop people in
the red zone, those are the good teams.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
You think the early fumbles affected the run game of
just over protecting the ball and not being able to fully.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
You know, you think earlier in the run with in
the season, what I mean earlier in the season.
Speaker 8 (30:36):
Yeah, I don't know. I haven't really gotten any sense.
I mean, I know what you're trying to say.
Speaker 7 (30:40):
Seven run stuff. So on twenty three runs, eleven carries
for Henderson, twelve carries for steven that's twenty three runs Mike,
seven of them were stuffed. Yeah, I don't think there's
anything to do with trying to protect the ball. Yeah,
when you're getting hit in the backfield, right, it just.
Speaker 6 (30:57):
Yeah, I mean you're seeing it. So anyway, anyway, that's
got to be better.
Speaker 7 (31:02):
That's one thing that we can all agree on heading into.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
The goal to go offense.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, short yardage job.
Speaker 8 (31:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (31:10):
I have Baringer on there for that twenty two yards shank.
Speaker 7 (31:12):
It was a big, big play at the time, right,
wasn't it right?
Speaker 9 (31:15):
It was?
Speaker 7 (31:15):
It was the drive right after the Giants had scored
and give him a chance to you know, set up shop.
And they moved right into scoring position again until the
guy decided to kick the ground.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (31:24):
He's a bizarre kicker to me, Like he just he's
like great, great punk, great punt.
Speaker 7 (31:29):
Twenty two yard punt gave a short field at the
forty four. Yeah, yeah, that wasn't good.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
You know, along one way they took the delay to
give him more room to burn some plock get like
fourteen got into the fourteen. I mean you can get
inside the ten game.
Speaker 7 (31:44):
That's a little nitpicky, that was.
Speaker 8 (31:45):
That was a good kick, My favorite shot.
Speaker 5 (31:47):
He is very anything he does.
Speaker 7 (31:50):
I I don't have much of a problem with this one.
Speaker 9 (31:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (31:56):
I'm not going to say it was the best plus
plus fifty yard punt ever saw, but I'm not going
to kill him for that. Just along those lines, you know,
I thought the defense was was pretty stout tonight. But
they put themselves in some bad spots. You know, Jalen
Hawkins's helmet shot on your boy, Theo Johnson, you know,
allows them to continue a drive that that was going
(32:16):
to be a third down stop. Well, you know, maybe
it wouldn't have been a stop if he hadn't hit
him in the head because he did have his hands
on the ball at the time. But that was just an,
to me an undisciplined play. You're coming over here, what like,
what do you think is going to happen? Yeah, like,
this is just helmet's to helmet, you know, and you
know that allows the drive to continue ultimately gets them
(32:38):
on the board at seventeen seven. So again, didn't have
many I thought the Patriots played a pretty good all
around team game.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
So when you look at that, he was actually looking
at the ball and and just ran into him. I
don't think he he didn't like it, wouldn't It wasn't targeting,
you know, he was when he was running, he had
his eyes on the ball and then hit his helmet.
Watch this, well you can't see it on this side,
but the other angle clearly showed it. Right here, he's
(33:06):
looking at the ball. See his arms are out front
to try to grab the ball and he hits his he.
Speaker 7 (33:11):
You imagine that someone's trying to say that this was
not like a helmet.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
You see what I'm seeing.
Speaker 8 (33:16):
I don't understand where.
Speaker 7 (33:19):
This guy lower his head with his face and hit
the other guy right, look at don't see how you
can be any more direct than that? Look at it?
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Look at his hands.
Speaker 7 (33:28):
What does his hands have to do with He was
going for the ball and you're looking down at the ball.
Can't hit a guy with your hand, I know.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
But it wasn't on purpose. Look I really don't, I
really don't. I think he was looking down to grab
at the ball. Look at his hands. Look at his hands.
Speaker 7 (33:48):
Look I don't really understand what his hands have to
do with his head.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
It tells you what his intention was.
Speaker 7 (33:53):
How do you know what his intention is?
Speaker 8 (33:56):
Forget it?
Speaker 3 (33:57):
I don't.
Speaker 9 (33:58):
Don't.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
You're not even looking at it. Stubborn. You're so stubborn.
Speaker 7 (34:02):
Mike said the same thing. Why isn't he stubborn?
Speaker 9 (34:04):
Like?
Speaker 7 (34:05):
Look at this, and this is like in a in
a textbook.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
His hands are illegal his football. His palms are up
to grab the ball.
Speaker 7 (34:12):
But I don't understand what his hands have to do
with where his head is hitting the other guy, because
if his head didn't hit the receiver in the in
the head, it wouldn't have been a penalty.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
I understand that, and they no matter where his hands.
I'm telling you his intention wasn't a helmet to helmet.
His intention was to reach down for the ball.
Speaker 7 (34:28):
You can see things that I can't see. I don't
know what his intentions are, and I'm not going to
pretend to tell you what he was thinking. You can't
just telling you what he did.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
When a guy goes in like who goes in for
a tackle with their hands with their palms up?
Speaker 7 (34:40):
Who goes in with his helmet?
Speaker 3 (34:42):
Everybody dies ball? But who goes down with their palms
up like that?
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Did?
Speaker 12 (34:46):
You?
Speaker 3 (34:47):
Am?
Speaker 8 (34:47):
I not seeing that.
Speaker 7 (34:49):
I just don't understand what his palms have to do
with his head because he was going for the ball,
So what he didn't get it?
Speaker 3 (34:56):
He got his head, That's exactly That's that's true. But
I'm telling you he didn't intend to like go.
Speaker 7 (35:01):
Are you insinuating that this isn't a penalty.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
In some way Today's NFL? That's a penalty today's NFL.
Speaker 7 (35:07):
Or in nineteen fifty.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
I'm saying he's going in with his palms up to
go for the ball. He wasn't looking at the guy's
head or even at the guy. He was looking at
the ball to try to grab the ball.
Speaker 7 (35:18):
I mean, I think reasonable minds can disagree about things,
but I honestly don't see how anybody could possibly come
away with any other impression.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Right then, look at his hands.
Speaker 7 (35:28):
This is sparing. His hands are down and he's hitting
with his head, his head. His hands are down by
his sides, and he reaches his palms up and he
hits him with his head. He's going for the Understand
he's going for the ball. Can we argue this? He's
hitting him right.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
In the head. He ended up at that, He ended
up hitting him in the head.
Speaker 7 (35:46):
So what is that then?
Speaker 3 (35:47):
Okay?
Speaker 7 (35:47):
Is that not a penalty?
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Fine?
Speaker 7 (35:49):
Are we arguing? But you won't even like, I'm not
telling you that he hit him in his head on purpose.
I don't know what, all right, But you're not even
conceding that he was going for the ball. I have
no idea what he's going for. You can fix something
that I can't.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Forget it, I mean I forget it. Forget it. I.
Speaker 7 (36:04):
I just can't believe we could possibly be in an
argument about that play. Well, you just won't even admit
that his hands. His palms were up going on, They
admit that his hands are up. I can't tell you
what he's thinking because his side and then he puts
him up as he goes in.
Speaker 9 (36:21):
You think this is a.
Speaker 7 (36:22):
Natural tackle reaction, Like, no, it's a natural reaction to
go for the ball. Why he wasn't trying to tackle him?
He was going for the ball, Okay, he was. He
wasn't trying to I don't have ESP. I can't tell
you what he was trying to do. I can only
tell you what he did. Right, and he argue with
(36:44):
you about his intent.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
You ever you ever been intense something that you hit
your head because you're not looking. That's exactly what happened.
Speaker 7 (36:51):
Right, Forget intent because I can't argue with intent because
I don't have ESP. I don't know what he was thinking.
All I can tell you is his head directly hit
the other guy's head. There's no doubt about somehow you
think it was. It was okay, I'm just telling you
he was going down to get the ball and he
hit his helmet and he got called for the penalty,
which is fine.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
But I'm just telling you, so, what are we arguing
you Because people are saying that was a stupid play,
that was really reckless. It wasn't. He was going for
the ball.
Speaker 7 (37:21):
I think it was reckless.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
It was I'm telling you, it wasn't reckless.
Speaker 7 (37:24):
He was going I think that's going to be a
penalty one hundred times out of a hundred. He hit
his helmet with that, With that technique, it's going to
be a penalty one hundred times out of one hundred.
The technique you're going in high with your head.
Speaker 6 (37:35):
I wish you said the reckless part first, because I
understand the context.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
That's my point.
Speaker 8 (37:39):
I don't think he wasn't.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
He wasn't targeting has a lot of those, but on
this particular play, he was bending down to get the ball.
He hit his helmet. Penalty, fine, but it wasn't. He
wasn't like doing a stupid play.
Speaker 7 (37:57):
I think it's a better argument on the one on
the kickoff for that he hit him with his head,
but I don't really think that's what he was trying that.
I don't think that was how you were near.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
I don't either.
Speaker 7 (38:07):
I think kind of Gunner kind of got tackled and
was spinning into him and caused their contact to happen.
This is that this is a free shot. This is
a free shot, while Woodson's got them all like, because
look at this one, to me is more of what
you're talking about, not on the reckless side. It happens.
It's helmet to helmet. I can't I can't argue it,
but no doubt in my view, this one is a
(38:29):
little bit more of what you're talking about then the
last one.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
Well, I think actually this one's more than the other one.
Speaker 7 (38:34):
The other one was face to face. He's looking right
at what he's hitting.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
He's looking at the ball. But anyway, forget it.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
Also, can we shot our video guys for queuing up
everything we've asked?
Speaker 3 (38:43):
What our listeners say?
Speaker 7 (38:45):
Yeah, actually, oh geez, I wonder, I wonder if they're
going to side with me?
Speaker 4 (38:50):
Here were Christian in La because you know he's our regular.
Why they put minus plus christ plus something.
Speaker 13 (38:58):
Plus plus well, because I always arrived plus one, like
you know now with Beverly SEUs.
Speaker 10 (39:03):
So there you go.
Speaker 13 (39:05):
You know, I think the play the play was one
of those bang bang plays where the guy's momentum was
taking him into him. It probably could have been a
penalty because he did hit him, but he didn't put
his head down, He wasn't really leading with the crown.
He almost hit him like straight up, just ran into him.
So I don't know if it was a penalty or not.
Speaker 7 (39:23):
But are we talking about it? Which one are you
talking about?
Speaker 3 (39:28):
The the h the Hawkins one? Right?
Speaker 7 (39:31):
Which one?
Speaker 13 (39:34):
The one way you hit him helmet to helmet?
Speaker 12 (39:36):
Which one?
Speaker 7 (39:36):
There were two helmets of helmets.
Speaker 13 (39:38):
Hawkins, the Hawkins one.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
Yeah, okay, there you go.
Speaker 7 (39:43):
That's the guy. That's the guy.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
I think they're all on my side.
Speaker 7 (39:47):
Oh, I'm pretty sure they will. I'm pretty sure they
will be.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
Well, they don't all hate the Patriots.
Speaker 7 (39:51):
I mean, what can I say, They don't all have
any objectivity.
Speaker 13 (39:54):
Thought, I'm actually on Paul's side. It was at penalty,
but it was.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
I didn't say it wasn't a penalty.
Speaker 12 (40:01):
It kind of did.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
I said it wasn't this reckless play that I heard
people saying that, like, oh no, you.
Speaker 13 (40:07):
Said he didn't do it on purpose. Of course he
didn't do it on purpose, but it's still reckless to
be throwing yourself at the guys.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
That's exactly what he didn't do. Thank you, yeah, thank you.
So now he's on your side.
Speaker 7 (40:17):
Pone happy, he's kind of on both sides, kind of
wishy washy.
Speaker 13 (40:23):
I'm not happy until we talk about this this game,
because this felt like we won in all three phases,
like you played a good game on offense, defensive, special
teams finally for the first time all year. And I
have to say this. I'm going to get and give
myself flowers.
Speaker 10 (40:38):
I know you guys will not hear.
Speaker 12 (40:39):
Well.
Speaker 13 (40:39):
Go back in week four. Back in week number four
when we won a game, I said it felt like
a really galvanizing game and we had some buy in
and that this team had about eleven or twelve wins
in it. And Paul said I was crazy and I
was getting ahead of myself and then he, you know,
gave me his Paul Vrom team and so I'm going
to get and give myself.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
All Right, you were right, remember that.
Speaker 12 (41:00):
But you're right.
Speaker 7 (41:01):
The O the best felt the congratulations take about But but.
Speaker 13 (41:08):
I do have to say that going into the buy
with relatively healthy right.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
Coming out playing against actually we're not.
Speaker 13 (41:16):
But well relatively healthy compared to a lot of other teams'.
Speaker 7 (41:20):
Relatively healthy comparatively, we.
Speaker 3 (41:23):
Lost the left side of our line. They're not coming
back anytime soon.
Speaker 7 (41:27):
You have three guys out, well, you think that puts
you in a bad spot compared to the rest of the.
Speaker 3 (41:31):
Our best defensive player on our left side of our line.
Speaker 7 (41:34):
Yeah, that's three.
Speaker 3 (41:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (41:35):
I think we talked relatives to the relatives to the
other teams got off pretty light so far.
Speaker 13 (41:41):
Both players will be back by the time the playoffs
coming that's my point.
Speaker 7 (41:45):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 13 (41:47):
I think we'll I think we'll we'll be back by
the time the playoffs comes in. And I think we'll
get Milton Williams too, back by a playoff.
Speaker 7 (41:55):
Like you guys all know the future, I don't. I
don't know these things. I don't know, guys intent. I
don't know what's going to happen five weeks from now.
Speaker 3 (42:03):
I don't know.
Speaker 12 (42:03):
But that's what we do.
Speaker 13 (42:04):
We give them the radio and we speculate and we
talk about things like that. That's what makes we just
got on the radio and never get.
Speaker 7 (42:13):
All right.
Speaker 13 (42:14):
So let me make my point here. My point of
here is this coming out of the by. I think
we're in a really good position to make a run
far in the playoffs because we will be playing Baltimore
and Buffalo back to back, of Buffalo and Baltimore back
to back, and if this team does have any serious
cracks in it, those two games are going to expose it.
(42:35):
And then we got three games after that to fix
those cracks leading into the playoffs. So I think we're
in a really good spot as far as that goes.
But great win today, guys, and and let's go past man.
I felt those twelve wins. Let's keep rolling.
Speaker 5 (42:49):
Thanks Christ.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
Actually there's only two games after that, but okay, yeah,
who's counting?
Speaker 5 (42:56):
All right, let's d to the Colorado Springs. Carlos.
Speaker 3 (43:01):
How there?
Speaker 13 (43:02):
Hi?
Speaker 10 (43:04):
I want to ask you guys, how are you feeling
after the tenth win in a row?
Speaker 9 (43:08):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (43:09):
Yeah, we all, we got we all?
Speaker 9 (43:11):
We need.
Speaker 10 (43:15):
Uh so quick a couple of shout outs and then
I'll get to my two questions. Shout out to the
whole crew. You guys do amazing work and I'm so
thrilled every time I get to listen to a pregame
and post game show. You really add a lot to
you know, I think to everybody but me, especially quick
shout out to Paul Diane. He'll know what I mean
by that, big shout out to.
Speaker 5 (43:38):
I don't know if you know what you meant by that.
Speaker 10 (43:41):
The World's original podcast. There you go like that, all right,
I'll be a lot faster than Christian and La. Does
Kyle Williams unlock some of the things the Patriots Hopkins
can do with Pop Douglas and KSHMI. And you know Diggs,
(44:02):
whether whether or not he's being featured, he's he's been
a safety outlet for Drake May and that's undeniable. That's
the first question. And the second question, real quick is
does the next man up Mantra have newfound respectability under
Mike Rable with regards to Tonight's offensive line performance. And
I'll take this off the air before I say goodbye,
(44:23):
I'll say shout out to Renny Moss cancer literally got Moss.
Thank you guys very much.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
Yeah, I mean, yes, it was a good A lot
of guys stepped up. Tonight stepped in and stepped up.
Good game for those guys on the old line, good
game for those on the D line. So yeah, absolutely, yeah.
Speaker 6 (44:44):
Solid, No, I mean I just think they're gonna Like
I don't, I don't, like I'm hesitant right now because
I feel like I'm I'm starting to get into point
of like, yeah, but here come the playoffs and now
let's talk about Like I don't want to do that tonight.
Speaker 3 (44:56):
Though.
Speaker 8 (44:56):
I came into this being like, just win this game.
Speaker 6 (44:58):
Let's just get to eleven game, Like, I don't want
to get into like what they need to do to
win playoff games yet, Like I know, like.
Speaker 3 (45:05):
Everybody is like, you know, playoffs teams are going to
be better. But to me, I'm I'm riding this. This
is like house money at this point. For me, there's
no way that I thought this was gonna happen this year.
I was hoping for nine or you know, nine wins,
eight wins, nine wins and Drake May to establish himself
(45:25):
as our quarterback and that's a successful season. And here
we are at eleven and two ten in a row,
you know, almost guaranteed a playoff spot and it's just
a matter of what seed that we have at this point.
I mean, who, what a thunk it?
Speaker 8 (45:40):
Yeah, I know, I mean that's for sure, you know, So,
like I like.
Speaker 3 (45:44):
I'm not so worried, Like this isn't like twenty eighteen
where it's like, how are we going to like turn
it on for the playoffs?
Speaker 7 (45:50):
You know, I totally agree with that. That's that's a
whole different mindset and because of you're dealing with a
different mentality going in. It's not like, oh, we arelready
won five super Bowls and this doesn't look like the
SI and how do we going to get to that? Instead?
Like I mean, if you win the super Bowl, obviously
that's what everybody wants, but virtually anything could happen and
(46:12):
wouldn't really put a damper on what's happening.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
It shouldn't, but it will.
Speaker 4 (46:17):
And I think that's the confusion with the success of
the season, where you have the callers that are already
thinking about the playoffs. Understandably so, but to your point, Paul,
this wasn't expected for the season. It isn't a successful
season at this point, but when you see how far
they've come, you're like.
Speaker 7 (46:31):
All right, why not go further?
Speaker 3 (46:34):
And that's I think, let's go win it. I agree, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 5 (46:38):
But like now it's Super Bowl or bus for most
and it's.
Speaker 3 (46:42):
Not freaking out, Oh my god, they're not going to
be good enough to you know, beat the Chiefs. If
they get into the playoffs like so many people are.
Speaker 7 (46:49):
They might not be But it's not really it's okay.
Speaker 3 (46:52):
Yeah, And I don't mean it's okay, but you know
what I.
Speaker 7 (46:55):
Mean, I know exactly what you're saying, and I would
agree with you one thousand percent. And it's one of
those things. Mike and I talk about this all the time.
It's like I need to see it. You know, if
they were to go out and just play a sloppy
game and beat themselves regardless of opponent, I wouldn't feel
great about it, you know. You know, if I came
(47:16):
away and they lost like a twenty three twenty game
and they were minus three in the turnovers, I'd be like, man,
we beat ourselves. But if they go and they play
a regular game that they've generally played over the last
ten weeks, that could go either way. I mean, all
these games that they play basically could go either way.
Tonight was an outlier, you know, it was like the
Carolina game with all the punt returns, you know, ironically enough,
(47:37):
the same kind of thing. But most of these games,
like last week in Cincinnati. I could have gone either way.
If they lose one of those games, I'll be disappointed,
but I won't be angry about Yeah, you know.
Speaker 9 (47:48):
What I mean.
Speaker 7 (47:49):
There is a difference right right.
Speaker 6 (47:50):
It is jarring though, remembering like just even watching this
game unfold, where it's all of a sudden it's seventeen
to nothing, and like that is such a departure from
the last couple of years where God, you.
Speaker 8 (48:01):
Were lucky to get to seventeen points in the game.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
Especially to start off game right, How often do we
start off like that this year?
Speaker 6 (48:08):
That's what I just I find jarring sitting up there
watching these games. And there's also just the element of
I don't know how the saying goes, but it's like
losing feels worse than winning feels good. And it's like
when they were losing game after game and after gaming,
you just feel like a downward spiral, and now it
feels like with wins, you're just like, yep, check the box.
Speaker 8 (48:24):
Good that that's all set. We're moving on now.
Speaker 6 (48:27):
Without getting too crazy, but it's it's remarkable what they've
done this year, and I think we're all just like
kind of jarred by how dramatic the turnaround has been.
Speaker 7 (48:35):
Maybe that's what. Maybe that got me soft because I agree,
it's just it's I never expected the turnaround to be
this quick. No, I never expected Drake May to be
this good this fast. I expected him to be this good,
just not this fast.
Speaker 3 (48:47):
Right, So this is house money. Let's go. Yeah, push
the chips in the middle.
Speaker 7 (48:52):
Let's go for it.
Speaker 3 (48:53):
How far they can go if we don't get it?
Speaker 6 (48:55):
You know that AFC title, right? You want that AFC divisions?
Speaker 9 (49:00):
I do want it.
Speaker 7 (49:01):
I do want it because that's another one that if
they don't win the division, I'm going to be disappointed.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
Yeah, I will be, just because I just want to
stick it to the Bills fans.
Speaker 7 (49:09):
But that see, that would mean that they would have
for the washing. For them not to win the division
means they're going to have to lose to either Miami
or the Jets. And I don't I'm not okay with that.
Speaker 3 (49:21):
They're not emotionally prepared for that.
Speaker 9 (49:23):
No.
Speaker 4 (49:24):

I keep apologizing because now it's a new day, it's Tuesday.
Speaker 5 (55:23):
But I know you were in listening for us.
Speaker 3 (55:26):
Matt can answer your question for absolutely.
Speaker 8 (55:28):
How we're feeling best quarter of the year, the first quarter.
Speaker 3 (55:33):
Oh yeah, aside from not being able to punch it
in on the first drive.
Speaker 5 (55:39):
Yes, with that little asterix.
Speaker 8 (55:41):
Yes, yea, all three phases.
Speaker 3 (55:44):
Yeah, I guess. So, okay, all round and gain more.
Speaker 8 (55:47):
More mute than I would have thought. Fred.
Speaker 9 (55:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (55:50):
I agree with Fred to think of all the quarters,
and I don't know if like I'm missing something.
Speaker 7 (55:54):
You get a short field and you can't punch it in. Okay,
I kind of agree with Fred. They're agreeing it was
one of the best game. I mean, I would say
this in Carolina are probably the two best games of
the year.
Speaker 9 (56:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
I was ready to write flawless first drive and it
wasn't right.
Speaker 8 (56:08):
Yeah right, okay, good? Did you're greeting on that kind
of a level out?
Speaker 12 (56:11):
I like that?
Speaker 9 (56:12):
All right?
Speaker 8 (56:13):
So without any further ado, let's go in into the
auditorium and listen to what the head coach had to
say after today's win.
Speaker 18 (56:22):
Well, I'm happy to be at to buy, happy to
be where we're at. Continue to improve, it's to finish better,
but at least, you know, we came out ready to go.
We focused on being aggressive and attacking and keeping that mindset,
and I think we did.
Speaker 19 (56:41):
And Mike Niceph just curious with Viderian Lowe and Ben
Brown slotting in just how you felt they did tonight
with you know, I think you talked pre game a
little bit about the Giants defensive front and just how
that was going to be a challenge and just how
those two handled it stepping in.
Speaker 9 (56:57):
Well, I think they handled it well. I mean it's
positive plays.
Speaker 18 (57:00):
Obviously offensively, we need to be better in the red zone,
but you know, I thought that they did well again
from first view. We'll have to see what things go
on tomorrow. It was penalty that costs us a touchdown,
so that's tough. But you know, a lot of good
things to build on and continue to improve and you know,
(57:21):
really focus on things that we're going to have to
do a little bit better down a stretch here. But
you know, I think that I'm just proud of what
the team has done weekend and week out, whatever the
challenge was and whatever has.
Speaker 9 (57:35):
Been presented to us. December first, how much longer are
you going to keep the mustat? It'll be gone tomorrow.
I mean, I couldn't have done all this and not
go out on Monday Night football. I had to. It'll
be gone tomorrow probably before I talk.
Speaker 20 (57:53):
To you, Mike, You've said, being aggressive and attacking a
couple of times, does the way some of the way
that Christian Ellis had some of those bigger hits at
the beginning of the game. Is that something that everybody
feeds off of. Is that something that the kind of lift.
Speaker 9 (58:08):
I think I certainly did. I think our fans did.
I think our team did.
Speaker 18 (58:13):
And again that's you know, it's a weekly reminder to
the quarterback, our quarterback, you know, I mean we show
him every week. Like I wouldn't get too cute over
there by the sidelines. It happens every week. And so
Christian's playing, you know, through the through the whistle, and
as long as the players in bounds, he's going to
try to hit him. Legally and then on the kickoff,
(58:36):
you know, we take a lot of pride and cover
and kicks.
Speaker 9 (58:40):
It was a matchup.
Speaker 18 (58:41):
They were top five and we were you know, they
were number five and we were number six and kickoff
and I expect us to be in the top five,
and you know, that's what I try to tell our
kickoff coverage team. So it was it was good to
see that the impact that it can make, and you know,
get turning the ball over as well.
Speaker 12 (58:57):
What did you think of Drake's performance tonight?
Speaker 21 (58:59):
He's seemed to be in control and didn't seem to
be bothered by you know, the issues with the offensive
line with guys out.
Speaker 9 (59:06):
Yeah, that wouldn't say that that was an issue.
Speaker 18 (59:09):
Just we've put the next two guys in there, and
you know, Ben's been ready for his opportunity. Vederia has
been working hard and worked hard an off season to
come back from from his shoulder, and uh so again
I get those guys a full week of practice. I thought,
you know, you know, Drake is I think he's really
he's realizing what what he can be and what the
(59:33):
impact that he makes on this offense and being the conductor.
Speaker 9 (59:38):
He's hard on himself.
Speaker 18 (59:40):
I think that he challenges himself as well as his coaches,
and I mean he means a great deal to this
football team and just being able to.
Speaker 9 (59:50):
Not get rattled and escape or.
Speaker 18 (59:52):
Pressure and find Remandre or scramble and you know, and
then when we do have time and you know, he
sees a guy win and put the ball great spot
there for Kyle to make a huge play or k
Sewan down there in the red zone. So you know,
a lot of third down conversions. So again, I you know,
very appreciative that he's our quarterback.
Speaker 5 (01:00:16):
And I think a lot of Patriots fans feel the same.
Speaker 8 (01:00:18):
Pretty pleased. I think the head coach was pretty pleased.
Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
It's good to have a coach who's willing to wear
the team gear.
Speaker 5 (01:00:24):
Yeah, you know, you just got to cut years off, dude,
and you'll look just like.
Speaker 22 (01:00:29):
I Still, I like the fact that he didn't like
how they finished, you know, made him mention to that
and uh well, oh red.
Speaker 5 (01:00:36):
Zone, which is we put on our bad list.
Speaker 9 (01:00:39):
You know.
Speaker 22 (01:00:39):
I like the fact that he's well again, seems pretty pleased.
But make sure to get those two things in there,
which is pretty good.
Speaker 7 (01:00:46):
I'm going to prick you up right, I'm going to
I'm going to get you in this.
Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (01:00:51):
So he mentions he didn't like the way they finished.
I didn't like the way they finished either, you know who.
I didn't like the way they finished. The coach uh
oh oh. I don't like the way the coach finished
the play calling.
Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
Yes, was that McDaniels or is it Verbel?
Speaker 7 (01:01:06):
I think in this case Rabel, because I think the
head coach can go to the offensive coordinator and say,
the other team doesn't have any more timeouts. We don't
need to have our quarterback get in trouble anymore here.
We don't need to subject them to any hits. Run
the ball, let's get out of here. That way, our
defense doesn't have to go back on the field and
subject them to any more physicality tonight. I thought the
last drive down there, the play calling to me, lost
(01:01:30):
sight of what was important. Run the ball, kick a
field goal, make it a three score game, and let's
go home and let's enjoy the buye. I think they
will help bent On trying to score a touchdown down
there and trying to get Drake another touchdown pass, which
is stuff that Patriots, and this might be for me
being brainwashed from the old regime. Aren't necessarily interested in stats.
(01:01:52):
They're great, you know, we're not really interested in them.
Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
I think they were the team that used to run
the score up.
Speaker 7 (01:01:57):
I think they were really intent on trying to score
a touchdown and get their quarterback another touchdown. Pass I'm
gonna watch on the court, and I thought that that
was putting him in harm's way. They had a pass
that was high on the seam that Hunter Henry made
a good catch on which easily coc goes off his hands,
and as a disaster, two plays later, the defensive back
(01:02:19):
undercuts Hunter Henry and it could have been a pick six,
which is the only way you can get in trouble
in this game. And then on the next play, your
quarterback got lit up from the side when he didn't
know a hit was coming on a scramble. I don't
need any of those plays to happen. All I need
to do is run the ball into the middle of
the line, kick a field goal, make it a three
scored game, and make the win the most important. At
that point, I think the Giants were out of timeouts.
(01:02:41):
They had made him use all three timeouts prior to
that yeah, it's a nitpicky kind of thing, but I
don't like the way they coached.
Speaker 8 (01:02:48):
The last two and a half minutes, all right, I
just would disagree that.
Speaker 7 (01:02:51):
I don't think I just can argue with it.
Speaker 8 (01:02:53):
I just don't think they're trying to add the quarterback stats.
I think they're looking at the red.
Speaker 7 (01:02:56):
Trying to score a touchdown, right because they have scored
in the red zone. The goal should be to win
the game, not score a touchdown, like the goal should be,
what's what's the best thing we can do to get
out of here? And I know what you yeah, I
know I could see look at your face right now,
a touchdown.
Speaker 12 (01:03:14):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:03:15):
I situation eyes. You were saying it up there in
the press spot. I didn't disagree with you there. I'm
not going to disagree with you even agreed with me.
And Evan never agrees with its. Situational football.
Speaker 7 (01:03:27):
Yeah, situational football is I don't need my quarterback to
get hit. I don't need my quarterback to get another
touchdown pass. It was they were hell bent on trying
to get them more than I didn't like it.
Speaker 3 (01:03:36):
You could have run, you could have run more clock
because on two of those plays the clocks stopped.
Speaker 7 (01:03:43):
Correct at least one of them. There was at least
one incomplete pass.
Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
Right right right, the one to Henry that got broken up,
the passionate nitpick.
Speaker 7 (01:03:53):
But it was on my bad list that we never
got to it because of the interviews and ever we
got sidetracked. Yeah, we didn't get to the injurine.
Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
Matt.
Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
You think that they're like, here's a good opportunity to
practice what we haven't been doing well.
Speaker 8 (01:04:09):
Well, I mean, I hear.
Speaker 7 (01:04:10):
That's how I looked at it. I know, this is
an opportunity to practice what we're not doing well. We're
having no problems throwing the ball, we're having problems.
Speaker 22 (01:04:17):
Running it, but you're having problems scoring in the red zone.
I would look at it more that way than trying
to give somebody a cookie.
Speaker 7 (01:04:25):
I don't think they have a problem throwing the ball
for touchdowns down there. They did it easily on first
and goal from the three. They threw the ball on
first down here to Kaishan Booty for a touchdown. They're
having a hard time running it in in those situations.
Speaker 8 (01:04:38):
Yeah, that's the high ball to Henry. So here's a sequence.
Speaker 7 (01:04:42):
Okay, yeah, And I'm not saying that this was almost
picked off, but I'm saying that's the kind of pass.
This is the ball.
Speaker 9 (01:04:48):
Run.
Speaker 7 (01:04:49):
This is what you should be doing. Run the clock,
run it out, kick a field goal. This one the
guy kind of undercuts, you know, a split second here
or there, throws off by a little bit here or there,
and that that's not just a pick that's a pick six.
Speaker 8 (01:05:02):
And Aikman had that right when it happened. He goes,
he brought that up. He goes, that could have been
a pick six.
Speaker 7 (01:05:07):
And then the next play he takes a hit from
the side here that he doesn't necessarily see coming as
he's kind of turtle in. I don't need him to
take that hit, right, And I'm not trying to play
like you know, I'm not trying to play like a
scared like, oh, it's a football game. You guy's going
to get hit. I know he's going to get hit.
If my guy gets hit in the course of a no,
(01:05:28):
when the game's in jeopardy, there's nothing I can do
about it. I can do something about that hit by
having him hand the ball off. We were actually lamenting
in the first quarter that Terrell Jennings got banged up.
We figured he could be taking these carriages at the
end of the game, so Stevenson and Henderson aren't taking
them all right, which, by the way, Henderson, I mean
Jennings left the game with a head injury early on,
(01:05:50):
didn't return. You guys talked a little bit about Robert
Splaine Spoleaine.
Speaker 6 (01:05:54):
Yeah, not not announced with anything, play about two thirds
of the snaps. Usually he's an every stamp kind of guy.
Speaker 7 (01:06:00):
See yeah. And I think Booty was limping around a
little bit. He was in and out. I think that's
why Kyle Williams got some run. I think when Booty
was the Booty did come back in the game.
Speaker 3 (01:06:10):
But if a guy like Spalline is out and he's
not playing, because do they have to announce it? Is
there a rule there? I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:06:17):
I don't know the answer.
Speaker 8 (01:06:18):
Could Could it be maintenance for a guy who's.
Speaker 7 (01:06:20):
Playing It wasn't maintenance. The game was the game.
Speaker 8 (01:06:24):
Would not want to be taken out for anything.
Speaker 7 (01:06:26):
But it was a fifteen point game. There's no way
they would have had him out if it was like
just like this one's over. I mean, they were trying
to score a touchdown at the end. They didn't think
the game was over.
Speaker 8 (01:06:37):
I'm gonna, I'm gonna. I'm gonna bet on illness.
Speaker 22 (01:06:41):
I think I think that's a that's a good guess
the game going around the cud.
Speaker 7 (01:06:46):
That's where we threw that out there earlier.
Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
The d line flunder, the line flu they all had.
Speaker 7 (01:06:54):
The whole line had the flu.
Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
They're all sick.
Speaker 5 (01:06:56):
I mean it is that season.
Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
Moses had it.
Speaker 7 (01:07:01):
That's a good.
Speaker 4 (01:07:03):
Only other injury flagging was Jack Gibbons who went down
on the planet Bro. Yeah they've been it'sund like he
got injured. But he came back two plays later, so
he's fine.
Speaker 5 (01:07:13):
But we'll keep our eyes on.
Speaker 3 (01:07:16):
I think Hawkins had a helmet. The helmet that.
Speaker 6 (01:07:20):
Guy guy his hands, but it wasn't.
Speaker 7 (01:07:24):
It wasn't really because he had his hands out.
Speaker 20 (01:07:29):
Something.
Speaker 8 (01:07:29):
You go for it, you hit your head.
Speaker 3 (01:07:31):
I mean, what happened?
Speaker 7 (01:07:33):
Is this us right here now?
Speaker 12 (01:07:38):
Now?
Speaker 7 (01:07:38):
The directors are trolling us.
Speaker 8 (01:07:41):
Please look this Patriots all access.
Speaker 22 (01:07:45):
It's letting the general just letting the broadcast the network
access to which every network, every game has the right
to go and if they want to do it.
Speaker 8 (01:07:55):
So they're the only show in town ESPN, so show
the locker room. That makes sense. Yeah, all right, we
still have to hear from the players. So let's go
into the auditorium and listen to players.
Speaker 23 (01:08:04):
Starting with the quarterback, Drake May, how much did you
and the team just kind of feed off the energy?
You guys came out with a lot of energy to
where did that come from? And what was that like
to watch all three phases kind of take it to
them from.
Speaker 24 (01:08:17):
The start they started, coach saying, no naps, you don't
want to come out here.
Speaker 9 (01:08:20):
The start fast.
Speaker 24 (01:08:20):
And we knew this team has been up in a
lot of games and they had good players over there.
They have some good talent, and we wanted to try
to get on fast. And you know, Marcus helped us
with that. You know what a what a return for him,
and you have the kickoff return, I mean kickoff coverage.
I mean, I think just all phases of the game
showed up at different points. And I still think offensively
in the second half, we got to put some more
drives together to you'll put the game out of reach.
Speaker 25 (01:08:43):
Just after what you went through the last two seasons
wins and losses wise, how what is this experience like
and and why, like, why is it happening from your
view that the team has having so much success.
Speaker 26 (01:08:56):
Yeah, I mean I think a lot of it goes
to just this, this team is so close. I mean
I've spoke about it from the time Phrase came in
and sat us down in here and told us he's
going to build a you know, we're gonna build a connection.
We're gonna build connections and you know, get close as
a team.
Speaker 9 (01:09:18):
You know, we we got real close.
Speaker 26 (01:09:19):
And I mean it's just able to help us out
on on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays whenever it is, and our
our identity just being out there go play physical and
just as a team, go out there have fun. I mean,
at the end of the day, you know, we get
to play a kids game for for work. So just
you know, going out there with that joy. You know,
(01:09:39):
he always preaches go play with that joy and that
that you know, that fun you had as a little kid.
So it's been amazing, but you know, we gotta keep
going take.
Speaker 23 (01:09:50):
Us through that play. Christian was just saying, it sparked
a lot of energy and passion for you guys. You
got a personal follow from them. What was your thinking
going into that and take.
Speaker 11 (01:09:58):
Us through that hit. You know, during the playoffs, saw
the scramble started chasing them down. He started tiptoeing on
the sideline and I thought he was listening to go
to bounds, but then I saw him tiptooning, So I
was staying bounced. That's I mean, what am I supposed
to do? You know, And we play hard on defense.
(01:10:19):
We try to bring life to this team. So that's
all I was trying to do is just do my
job and hit anything in the whites.
Speaker 27 (01:10:28):
It's a long journey, especially with punt returns. You know,
everyone doesn't want to do it.
Speaker 9 (01:10:32):
You know.
Speaker 27 (01:10:33):
I find a lot of joy when it comes down
to it, but at the end of the day, you know,
ever since that I got into the league, I would say,
you know, the guys that have been blocking for me,
I commend them twenty four to seven. Without them, I
wouldn't be able to get any yards, I can honestly say.
But yeah, I commend my guys out there and everything
like that.
Speaker 12 (01:10:49):
I try to just make them right.
Speaker 27 (01:10:51):
You know, they do the hard part and everything, and
all I do is just follow blocks and kind of
go from there.
Speaker 9 (01:10:55):
So how much of a need. Is this team in
need of this buy foot both of phys ago and
mental standpoint.
Speaker 12 (01:11:01):
Yeah, I think, uh, you know, want to win before
the bye.
Speaker 24 (01:11:04):
You're trying to, you know, want to win every game,
and I know it's uh maybe you know kind of
don't want to you know, leave off on the buy
on the back foot with a home Monday night game.
So I think it was important for us to you'll
play on Monday night and you know, shove up for
for our fans. And you know, it was a game
that we didn't want to take lightly and I think
the guys did that.
Speaker 9 (01:11:21):
Probably those guys for that.
Speaker 12 (01:11:22):
And then, uh, you know, the bye week's huge.
Speaker 24 (01:11:23):
It felt like a long time coming, but uh, you
know we're here and we've got some important football after
the bye week. So we're looking forward to you'll stay
in and getting healthy and having guys you want to
get better.
Speaker 12 (01:11:32):
And I'm looking forward to you'll get some.
Speaker 24 (01:11:34):
Guys back and make a uh you'll make a pushm
win football. You know, starts to count down the.
Speaker 4 (01:11:39):
Road may toys the line of like reflective but yet
very energetic.
Speaker 8 (01:11:47):
Yeah, does talk fast. He seemed a little upeat though tonight.
Speaker 22 (01:11:50):
I know it's a little bit more upeat, and I
do think they accomplished what they wanted to accomplish, win
the game. I know, Mike, you said in the pre
game show, how whatever way you can just win the game.
Now there's a little bit of a load off their shoulders.
Let's get let's get some much needed rest, you know,
and then get back to ian the prize.
Speaker 8 (01:12:08):
Four games finished.
Speaker 6 (01:12:09):
Strong, really easy to focus. I think, you know, I
just love the four games to go. You control your fate,
three games in your division, you know, three teams you
know really well. And Baltimore, who of course is going
to be a dog fight down there.
Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
You go see his alma matter his bowl game, so
didn't make it.
Speaker 9 (01:12:28):
That was.
Speaker 7 (01:12:31):
Quite impressed.
Speaker 8 (01:12:33):
Yeah, I'm not going to there probably Sorry, that was
a good accent.
Speaker 7 (01:12:38):
I like that one, I really do.
Speaker 3 (01:12:41):
I can use you can use it on your shows,
you know this week.
Speaker 7 (01:12:45):
I don't need your recycled material.
Speaker 6 (01:12:49):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (01:12:50):
Let's just get along.
Speaker 3 (01:12:52):
It's better when you know.
Speaker 5 (01:12:55):
We're entertained, better, all right.
Speaker 4 (01:12:59):
Take it back out the phone lines Florida to see
what people say. It's a little warmer than here, David,
how are you, hey?
Speaker 12 (01:13:07):
Guys?
Speaker 8 (01:13:07):
What's it going, hey, David, we're doing well. O.
Speaker 9 (01:13:11):
Hey.
Speaker 28 (01:13:11):
So I had two things here. My first thing, despite
the score, that seemed like maybe the most dominant win
we've had all year. And then real quick, my second thing, Fred,
I want you to do this after me.
Speaker 5 (01:13:24):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:13:26):
All right, it's all we got, what's all we need?
Speaker 8 (01:13:32):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 6 (01:13:33):
It was a really good win. I mean, it's just
I and talking about the energy. I mean, we talked
about a little bit. I mean, and I said, like,
I didn't feel great about the energy this week. I
felt like maybe Monday night football would bring it out
of these guys. But but they brought the energy tonight.
I thought they brought better energy than they have the
last couple of games. And I just think that's a
you know, the Mike Rabel message of wanting to be
the first team to eleven wins, and you know, and
(01:13:55):
I mean, just the way Christianella spoke when we talked
to him, it seemed like he'd have the tan.
Speaker 21 (01:14:01):
There wasn't much left. So hopefully they can get some
rest and and you know, heel up a little bit.
Speaker 6 (01:14:05):
But I don't want to sound like this is going
to be like the Magic wand that all of a sudden,
you're gonna come back and everybody's everybody's healthy, and your energy.
I mean, it's it's it's a little bit of a
break and it's probably helps more mentally than physically.
Speaker 8 (01:14:18):
But these next four.
Speaker 6 (01:14:19):
Games are gonna be are gonna be tougher, so that
they're gonna have to be ready for.
Speaker 3 (01:14:22):
Yeah, and listen, jetson and Miami is going to be tough.
Speaker 8 (01:14:26):
To absolutely, Yeah, don't overlook them.
Speaker 22 (01:14:28):
Yeah, Miami's playing pretty well, and I know they're getting
the they're getting the teams at the Patriots, you know,
played the New Orleans. Is the Tennessee's people like that,
you know, so they're that's certainly helping them down the stretch.
Speaker 8 (01:14:40):
But that'll be a that will not be a cakewalk game.
Speaker 7 (01:14:43):
I'd be more worried about that Miami game if Miami
was playing well. They're not. They're like like stopping two
point conversions to hold on at home against New Orleans,
you know. Yeah, and there's no way Miami's coming here
and the weather. I'm more worried about the Jets game
in the Miami and I think the Jets, you know,
obviously have their struggles too, but I think going going there.
(01:15:08):
If that's one of those games that the Jets can
get off to a good start and believe they're in
the game, then all of a sudden, it's game on
that Miami here, like something happens like happened tonight in
the same thing, will the score will be the same way.
Miami doesn't think they can win if it's under a
certain degree temperature.
Speaker 8 (01:15:26):
Well's and they're gonna be and it's going to be that.
Speaker 7 (01:15:30):
Ye, So I give Miami almost no shot.
Speaker 8 (01:15:33):
I kind of feel the same way.
Speaker 6 (01:15:33):
I mean, Miami still right now seems like they're kind
of in it, but like where are they going to
be Week eight?
Speaker 9 (01:15:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:15:39):
Now, now they have an opportunity because their games aren't
very difficult. So if they all of a sudden beat Pittsburgh,
and I think they have Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, you know,
very winnable games. I think they have the Jets this week,
then Pittsburgh and Saint If all of a sudden they
win those three games, then you come back to me
and said, I thought, Paul, I thought you said it
(01:15:59):
was gonna be an easy game. You know, I reserve
the right to change my mind. If all of a sudden.
You know that they've gone from you know, zero to
three to you know, nine and seven heading into that
last game. You know, that's that's a different kind of
mentality that Miami might bring here, assuming that they win
one or two and lose one or two before that game,
(01:16:19):
I give Miami almost no shot.
Speaker 6 (01:16:21):
Yeah, it's at Jets at Steelers, Bengals, Bucks at Patriots.
Speaker 7 (01:16:24):
All four of those games are winnable games for them.
They're not playing a team that's any better than they are.
Speaker 8 (01:16:29):
Where's where's the Cincinnati game?
Speaker 5 (01:16:30):
It's in Miami.
Speaker 6 (01:16:32):
Okay, Yeah, that's a Sunday and I mean they got
two on national television.
Speaker 7 (01:16:37):
Right now Gas Monday night. You know, that's another one.
I expect them to lose because the temperature will be like,
you know, tovel Pittsburgh is not a good way right now.
Cincinnati is you know? I mean, I think I think
Burrow is back with their four and eight. Let's call
them what they are. You know, it's not a good team.
So those are winnable game.
Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
Defense is Miami, Miami is Cincinnati.
Speaker 8 (01:17:01):
I agree.
Speaker 22 (01:17:02):
I think with Burrow, I think, yeah, and his professionalism
when he was well, why are you coming back? You know,
the season's lost, right, Look, I get paid a lot
of money. I should be playing.
Speaker 7 (01:17:12):
Well, that's that's true. Season's not lost. They're two games
out of place, like they're in a bad division, so
you have a chance to win it. But I agree
with Matt's point about Borrow's professionalism. I think he'd be
playing even if they didn't have a shot, they were
five games out. He'd STI would have come back.
Speaker 6 (01:17:29):
He needs to get out of Cincinnati, seriously, go put
him in the NFC somewhere.
Speaker 5 (01:17:36):
All right, let's head to Matt in Texas. Matt, Matt,
are you here.
Speaker 9 (01:17:45):
All right?
Speaker 5 (01:17:45):
Adam in la Hey, we got so to do, Adam,
where are you.
Speaker 9 (01:17:54):
Mc? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:17:57):
I heard that, dude.
Speaker 29 (01:18:01):
I'm just calling in.
Speaker 19 (01:18:03):
That.
Speaker 30 (01:18:04):
Uh you know that guy, and I want to come
to the injuries and other things and when he's righting
like from Rob.
Speaker 3 (01:18:15):
But anybody could do that.
Speaker 6 (01:18:17):
It's just.
Speaker 13 (01:18:19):
You know, guys are going to come back to injury,
but nobody knows when anyone's gonna come back to injury.
Speaker 10 (01:18:24):
So I could think, like, you know, he just called.
Speaker 11 (01:18:27):
Me down there, and he's might so he can throw
on the toe in.
Speaker 24 (01:18:31):
A couple of weeks and say give me my.
Speaker 3 (01:18:33):
Powers talking about Christian.
Speaker 4 (01:18:37):
Yeah, thanks, Yeah, I don't want to hang up on
calls back and the acquire environment if possible, are going
to go to Alex and Bust.
Speaker 5 (01:18:47):
I didn't hang up on him, by the way.
Speaker 8 (01:18:49):
Someone else did, could Marine Corps?
Speaker 12 (01:18:53):
I know?
Speaker 3 (01:18:55):
All right?
Speaker 7 (01:18:55):
Well, does anybody know what he was saying? I know,
no one knows when they're coming back undries, which I
would agree with. Yeah, I mean I think on the surface,
the three guys that are out Jared Wilson, Will Campbell
and Milton Williams on this like, on the surface, you
(01:19:16):
could expect them all to play again this year. Mike
Vrabel said specifically about Campbell, hopefully he'll be able to
come back this year. It's hopefully not season ending, is
what he said last Monday. But we could go today. Yeah,
but I you know, to the college point, I just
there's no way of knowing how these kinds of things
(01:19:37):
are going to work themselves out. If he's dealing with
an mcl sprain, maybe maybe it heals quickly, maybe it doesn't,
who knows.
Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
And Williams maybe Will Campbell at seventy percent isn't as
good as Vederian Lowe at one hundred.
Speaker 22 (01:19:51):
Right, and Williams is ineligible to come back until after
the Baltimore game.
Speaker 8 (01:19:54):
Right, correct, He can't come back correct, right until the
Jets game.
Speaker 7 (01:19:58):
Correct.
Speaker 8 (01:20:00):
And I mean I wouldn't expect that. I mean, it'd
be great, but you can't sit there and book it.
Speaker 7 (01:20:05):
Right, Like I think he's dealing. So Wilson's dealing with
reportedly a high ankle spring, right, that's what Williams. Williams
is the same thing, right, yea, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:20:18):
I zoned out for her because I.
Speaker 3 (01:20:21):
Mike.
Speaker 6 (01:20:22):
Sometimes there's a Williams and I'm like, will Yeah, for.
Speaker 7 (01:20:26):
The minutia, I trust you, Mike Williams. I think he's
I think to Matt's I know why he is. I'm
going to I'm going to be mad at him after
the show, but that'll be for I'll walk across the park.
Speaker 8 (01:20:38):
I understand what Fred was saying later.
Speaker 6 (01:20:40):
I mean when he was saying that, when you were
implying because I didn't know people were complaining about.
Speaker 7 (01:20:45):
It, Like I'm not complaining about anything.
Speaker 6 (01:20:48):
What's coming from seen Fred talks to the masses on
his blog and then he gets a finger.
Speaker 7 (01:20:53):
I mean Fred on the blog. I'm sure that when
the Patriots allowed to touchdown to make it seventeen seven,
there were people that were calling for Rabel's fire. That's
what he deals with on a weekly basis.
Speaker 8 (01:21:05):
The point about this is house money.
Speaker 3 (01:21:08):
No, we're not, We're not.
Speaker 8 (01:21:12):
Point was a very good point.
Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
Enjoy this, Enjoy this all right, Alex.
Speaker 5 (01:21:18):
I'm gonna give you another shot in Boston. Are you
with us?
Speaker 10 (01:21:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:21:22):
There we go?
Speaker 9 (01:21:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:21:24):
Reunited?
Speaker 8 (01:21:24):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 31 (01:21:29):
I just had a couple of things about the offensive line. Really,
I thought the pass protection was it was awesome tonight. Really,
you know, the pressure really wasn't wasn't It wasn't an
issue in my eyes with all that talent on the
D line.
Speaker 29 (01:21:43):
And then I had a question, what was the line
was on the sideline?
Speaker 31 (01:21:50):
What was your perspective on the I felt like Remandre
was was really not hitting the hole particularly well in
the second half.
Speaker 10 (01:22:00):
On that last drive.
Speaker 31 (01:22:03):
Was able to find space and get to the second level,
but more effectively. Was that a blocking thing or was
that more.
Speaker 8 (01:22:10):
Of a deuce line?
Speaker 16 (01:22:13):
No?
Speaker 6 (01:22:13):
I think it's a line thing. I mean, you know,
Remandre and I was just noticing this too, I mean,
Rendre even against light boxes is getting stuffed.
Speaker 8 (01:22:22):
So like you know light I mean they didn't.
Speaker 6 (01:22:23):
Even face a heavy box, and he still had two
runs stuffed against the light box light box six or
fewer guys in the box. Seven attempts for fifteen yards
of two point one yard per carry. I mean, not
to me kind of says it all. When your top
running back can't produce solid, even solid yardage against the
light box on the team that has the worst run
(01:22:44):
defense in the league, it's it's not a great sign.
Speaker 21 (01:22:46):
I just I would point towards winning the battle at
the line of you. Now, I'm talking about the difference
between the two running backs. Oh this is this is
another They're not using Henderson right now. Oh oh, I'm sorry, Yeah,
I just they twenty three runs between the two of
them tonight. Maybe five of them were good runs.
Speaker 7 (01:23:04):
Like they're just getting hit consistently as they get the ball,
Henderson Stevenson. It doesn't matter. Neither one of them is productive.
Every once in a while there's a hole, Henderson gets
some space because I think he gets more carries in
non traditional run situations. But even then, it was one
twenty six yard run at the end of the game,
(01:23:26):
they get down to the goal line, hitting the hole,
not hitting the hole. He's getting stuff for no gain,
just like Stevenson is they That's one thing that they
specifically need to work on and fix because good teams
can get a yard, you know, at the end of
the game, and they haven't been able to consistently do it.
Speaker 21 (01:23:45):
Yeah, next Gen's got them with eight successful runs between
the two That wasn't bad out of twenty three attempts.
I said about five five stuffed. Yeah, but you said
seven stuffs.
Speaker 6 (01:23:55):
Well it May got stuffed too. Oh, May had three
successful runs and two stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:24:00):
Yeah, but you don't.
Speaker 7 (01:24:01):
Yeah, I forget that didn't get stuffed tonight.
Speaker 8 (01:24:05):
May do a better job in the quarterback sneaks tonight.
Speaker 7 (01:24:08):
The quarterback sneaks were not one situation one.
Speaker 3 (01:24:11):
If you can't sneak for second and one, then you know,
I hate that.
Speaker 7 (01:24:14):
Fred was really angry about this.
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
Well, I hate sneaking on second and one. You've got
the whole playbook.
Speaker 7 (01:24:20):
You can do whatever you want to have to sneak
non sneak situations, which if you don't convert on those, yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:24:27):
I mean, just for comparison, Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy
had ten successful runs and two stuffed runs.
Speaker 7 (01:24:34):
Yeah, so I'm not blaming it on the running backs.
The numbers are what they are. Eight eight successful runs
out of twenty three is not good enough. You need
to be fifty percent or better.
Speaker 12 (01:24:46):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (01:24:48):
Really, all right, let's go to stand.
Speaker 8 (01:24:50):
Tyrone Tracy was.
Speaker 5 (01:24:51):
Yeah, heaven, how are you? How's the energy in San.
Speaker 29 (01:24:56):
Fran Hey, how's the going guys?
Speaker 6 (01:24:59):
Hey, Patriots are coming to San Francisco.
Speaker 29 (01:25:03):
Dude, entergy people really high right now?
Speaker 9 (01:25:08):
Aware? Yeah?
Speaker 31 (01:25:10):
Are you?
Speaker 8 (01:25:13):
You said you're high right now in San Francisco?
Speaker 3 (01:25:16):
Legal right now?
Speaker 16 (01:25:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 29 (01:25:19):
Yeah, I'll tell you this. I love what I'm saying.
I don't care if they're gonna buye I don't care
if they will play in the first round. Just get
some experience in the in the first round in playoffs.
That's all we want. That's all we want. And you
guys are the best.
Speaker 12 (01:25:40):
I love you, love you too.
Speaker 5 (01:25:44):
That's the that's the rational.
Speaker 8 (01:25:46):
No, No, I'm with you on that.
Speaker 7 (01:25:50):
There's something to be one here. There's an opportunity. There
is an opportunity showing to show, just showing on ESPN, right,
A lot of different stuff around the League is showing
that she Easton talking about their struggles. There's a chance,
It's not a great chance, but there's a chance that
Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow are
(01:26:12):
not part of the playoffs. And you're telling me it's
just okay. If they get a one one playoff game
in the wild Cat run and lose, there's an opportunity
that your quarterback is the best quarterback in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:26:23):
We could be playing the Bears in the playoffs exactly
forty years from your.
Speaker 7 (01:26:29):
Podcast happen going the other way too. Okay, do you
think that this is kind of a funny year in
the AFC with the way Oh for sure, very different. Yes,
do you think there's a chance, you know, do you
think do you think there's a possibility, a good possibility
(01:26:52):
there is a repeat of that next year where you're
looking at Week thirteen in the chiefs of six and
six and you know, like, this is an opportunity to advantage.
Now you got you got the big dogs wounded. You're
a big dog right now. And I'm not saying again,
this doesn't mean that if they lose in the playoffs,
this was a disaster.
Speaker 12 (01:27:11):
Of a season failure.
Speaker 7 (01:27:12):
We don't have to call it a failure. It can
be a really good season in the aftermath. But right
now the first round by is there to be one yep,
and at the very least that I'm not going to
call it a disappointment necessarily if you don't get to buy.
But if you don't win the division with a two
game lead, with four games the division, that's a choke.
Speaker 3 (01:27:34):
But I think if if they lose to like Baltimore
or the Kansas City and to play people like, well, see,
but if they lost at Jacksonville or Houston or Denver,
people are going to be like, oh they But.
Speaker 7 (01:27:45):
Even then, like I can, they're going to be playoff.
Speaker 3 (01:27:49):
Teams like that has to be in Denver. That's the rule.
Speaker 7 (01:27:52):
You know, Denver only plays home games.
Speaker 8 (01:27:54):
You know, right, It's in their contract.
Speaker 7 (01:27:58):
The way this whole thing again, you're up to over
Buffalo with four to play. If you don't win the division,
that's more than a disappointment. That's kind of a choke.
You can lose to Buffalo and Baltimore the next two
weeks and still win the division just by beating the
Jets in Miami.
Speaker 3 (01:28:18):
Is that true. Yes, because no, because we have one
more game played than Buffalo.
Speaker 7 (01:28:24):
I'm aware of that.
Speaker 3 (01:28:25):
Yeah, if they went out and we lose two, they
are now tied with them.
Speaker 7 (01:28:31):
They're not they go ahead a game incorrect. We both
be thirteen and four. If Buffalo wins out and the
Patriots lose to Buffalo and Baltimore beats the Jets in Miami,
they both end up thirteen and four. Okay, the Patriots
will win the division based on division record, division record
five and one to four and two. Okay, all right,
So that's why I'm saying it would be a pretty
close to a choke if you don't win the division. Now,
(01:28:54):
it's not a choke if you don't. I mean you
and Denver, the two Denver's one nine in a row.
You've now won ten in a row. Like, I'm not
telling you that you should win. I think if they
both win out, Denver actually gets it. But I haven't
done all those permutations. Those change, much like I told
you a month ago when someone was talking about strength
and victory and all that crap, It changes every week.
Speaker 8 (01:29:14):
Denver's got to go to Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (01:29:15):
I know that.
Speaker 7 (01:29:16):
So if Denver wins out, and the Patriots win out.
I don't know who would win the tiebreaker on that
right now. I guess it is Denver, I guess, but
it doesn't mean that they would have it then.
Speaker 6 (01:29:31):
Raiders efforting at Raiders, Packers, Jaguars at Chiefs, Chargers.
Speaker 3 (01:29:38):
Tough road.
Speaker 7 (01:29:38):
So I say it again, Raiders.
Speaker 6 (01:29:40):
At Raiders win, Packers, Jaguars up at Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (01:29:44):
Boss up Chargers. Yeah they have that's a tough charad.
Speaker 7 (01:29:48):
Packers, Chiefs. Those are two tough games they still have left.
The Patriots have Baltimore and Buffalo, two tough games. So
the schedules are fairly comparable. But I'm with I'm with Matt.
I there's an opportunity to make a run that you're
not guaranteed to have next year.
Speaker 8 (01:30:05):
Don't tell every bit is good as you were.
Speaker 7 (01:30:07):
This year next year, and it doesn't necessarily unfold the
way it does this year, with the way all these
teams have been completely banged up in.
Speaker 3 (01:30:18):
Not going to get better. You don't.
Speaker 7 (01:30:20):
You don't think that they can make moves after after
resetting their roster.
Speaker 3 (01:30:23):
The windows windowpened.
Speaker 8 (01:30:27):
You have to call Anderson renewal and.
Speaker 31 (01:30:32):
Paul.
Speaker 3 (01:30:33):
You know, in a house when the windows get old,
you can put in new windows, or you can put
in those replacement windows that fit inside. That's that's not the.
Speaker 7 (01:30:44):
Way, that's just the temporary face.
Speaker 3 (01:30:45):
What we did is we took the windows out. We
put brand new windows in frame at all, so we're
more durable.
Speaker 5 (01:30:52):
That's how you rebuild.
Speaker 3 (01:30:53):
That's how you rebuild. No shortcuts, shortcuts, no shortcuts.
Speaker 8 (01:30:59):
It's like free agency is the replacement windows.
Speaker 7 (01:31:04):
That's kind of how we rebuilt. But I was good nail.
Speaker 4 (01:31:10):
All right, Well, Martin, you are a lucky caller because
you're might be the last caller of the day, day game,
whatever you want to call it.
Speaker 5 (01:31:18):
Martin, how's Kansas? I'm asking everyone out the city is.
Speaker 12 (01:31:25):
Good evening, good morning, so my good morning.
Speaker 30 (01:31:29):
I guess this morning for you guys, it's still evening
for me.
Speaker 11 (01:31:32):
Not yet.
Speaker 30 (01:31:33):
My lovely wife has been dealing with me watching football
so much, and she had me. She told me to
call you guys. We've had something to say.
Speaker 10 (01:31:41):
Give me hyped up.
Speaker 30 (01:31:42):
I appreciate your last speech.
Speaker 11 (01:31:43):
You got me ready to go.
Speaker 30 (01:31:44):
We don't want we don't want to be lost in
losing a by losing the first week of the playoffs,
we want to be a bye in the first week
of playoffs. I think the Patriots like they have a
bye week this next coming week, but the next two
teams they play after they're gonna be desperate, the Bills
and the Ravens. So I think it's gonna be the
hardest test they get through that I don't and I'm
(01:32:08):
gonna be like was as Solac said, I don't know
when the Patriots gonna lose next game. I don't think
you're gonna lose those games either. I think they're gona
win out the rest of the season, be number one
in the AFC, and at this point the expectation is
Super Bowl. I don't see anything else because Drake may
is playing the way he is. The defense really stowed
(01:32:30):
up tonight. I get it, it's the Giants, but this
is the Patriots that bring themselves from the worst teams
in the league.
Speaker 3 (01:32:37):
Thank you, thank you. I'll feel better if Milton Williams
is bad. Oh yeah, but if we if we beat
Baltimore in Buffalo.
Speaker 7 (01:32:48):
Yeah, this is what I'm saying. It's an opportunity like everybody's.
I mean, you think Buffalo's done, so you won't be
impressed by beating Buffalo Baltimore six and six. I know
Baltimore just turned the ball over twenty seven times on Thanksgiving. Now,
like ye, there's an opportunity here. You can win these
games and get the number one seed. I know, without
(01:33:10):
like pulling off upsets.
Speaker 3 (01:33:11):
Other than us, the two best teams might be Houston
and Denver.
Speaker 8 (01:33:18):
Defense is legit.
Speaker 7 (01:33:21):
I'm starting to I'm starting to be concerned about Houston
a little bit because of Stroud. Yeah, Stroud came back
and all of a sudden, now they got they got
a little bit offense too.
Speaker 8 (01:33:32):
He's good.
Speaker 7 (01:33:33):
Stroud's good.
Speaker 3 (01:33:34):
Yep, yep, all right, be careful, careful. Anybody email any
good email? Guy that's not a guy. Somebody in a helmet,
that's a guy. God, he's paying it. He's looking for money.
Speaker 9 (01:33:54):
What did I do?
Speaker 7 (01:33:56):
Now? Put theo Johnson at Nash General? Right? How evaluated by.
Speaker 3 (01:34:01):
The incidental contact?
Speaker 7 (01:34:05):
Oh God, thank you, thank you for being a rational
human being.
Speaker 4 (01:34:10):
I did get one email, but I don't know if
we want to talk about the run game before we
close out the show.
Speaker 5 (01:34:15):
It was about Stevenson.
Speaker 4 (01:34:16):
He's lost a few steps from Chad in Atlanta. Used
to be that I was worried about when Stevenson got
the ball he was going to fumble.
Speaker 5 (01:34:23):
Now IM worried he's going to lose yardage. He had
one okay run tonight. At least he's at least lost
the starting.
Speaker 3 (01:34:30):
Job, which well Stevenson I think definitely was affected by
the early fumbles. He's not running.
Speaker 7 (01:34:35):
I just don't understand this delineation in the running game
between Stevenson and Henderson.
Speaker 3 (01:34:41):
It looks to me, No, it doesn't. They're running styles completely.
Speaker 7 (01:34:45):
No, no, no, no, absolutely they're running styles or in
the last one, yes, but I think.
Speaker 3 (01:34:52):
That Henderson has the potential to break one. I don't
think the way Stevenson running I.
Speaker 7 (01:34:57):
Would agree with that also, But I also would say
that Henderson gets carries, I know, in non traditional right
in a little bit more open field, and that's where
the yards come. And Stevenson doesn't get those opportunities. Now
he shouldn't because he's not as conducive to making the
plays that Henderson is. The way they're using them I
think is just right. You got Stevenson early downs between
(01:35:21):
the tackles, the hard yards, and then you want to
try to hit Henderson off the edges every once in
a while. I have no problem with the way Josh
McDaniels is using his running backs.
Speaker 3 (01:35:30):
Are we you know, kind of forgetting Gibson, Like, wouldn't
he be a good player to have right now?
Speaker 22 (01:35:38):
I think a lot of people at the trade deadline was,
you know, if they could get one more back. Now
maybe they think that Jennings can do this, but like
he has, he's had a tough time standing on the field.
Speaker 6 (01:35:48):
Ye I wouldn't even seen Jennings tonight, you know, but
I I just agree with Paul. I think it's a
whole just fundamental. They're not blocking it, it's not there.
And I think Stevenson still hurt from his toe.
Speaker 8 (01:36:00):
I don't know. I was going to say, do you
think he's bad as he really?
Speaker 7 (01:36:03):
I just thought he ran really hard tonight. There was
just nothing there.
Speaker 3 (01:36:07):
He ran hard, no doubt, yep.
Speaker 8 (01:36:10):
But he's one I think the bye week and I
thought he.
Speaker 7 (01:36:13):
Was a big part of their early success in this game.
They came out with a lot of energy. All his
good runs came in that like the first drive, you you.
Speaker 6 (01:36:19):
Were watching him block on one of the well.
Speaker 7 (01:36:22):
He had the edge, He had the edge on the
touchdown to Kyle Williams. Yeah, I think it was. I
think it was Burns, but it may have been caught.
It must have been burned.
Speaker 3 (01:36:31):
It was Carter was on that side.
Speaker 7 (01:36:32):
He out came up and stoned him like he was
a tackle. Yeah, he's just really I think it's unfortunate
that the fans have completely given up on him.
Speaker 9 (01:36:44):
I do.
Speaker 7 (01:36:45):
I think it's unfortunate. I think he does a lot
of things well, and I think that's why he plays
so many snaps. I think Rabel understands that and McDaniels
understands the value that he has.
Speaker 4 (01:36:58):
Yeah, well that's all we have. Any other things you'd
like to chat about. Com miser rate, celebrate Listen.
