The World's a Pigeon podcast.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. I was going up the elevator
in one of Paul's guys, I won't mention his name.
Worried about our left tackle, very concerned, very concerned. And
this is before practice. John Wrightson and Paul will love
this email. Are you guys only going to slam Drake
May for two hours? He's been excellent every other day?
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Throw that out. Fred mentioned earlier the feathered throat of
Stefan Dicks, you know right over Craig Woodson.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Kyle Williams, the favorite.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Did you see that one?
Speaker 4 (00:52):
Ye? Kyler Williams finding touchdown when.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
They work in the in the in the red zone.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
It's not that hard, but it has.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Tony told me I wear glasses to see distance.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yes, I mean that's I wear contact lenses so I
can see. Otherwise I would walk into that's a long
way away.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
So why don't you use the binoculars.
Speaker 5 (01:15):
I don't like binociars. I like to see everybody. I
don't want to just see the two guys that you
can see in the monoculars.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
That's not how binoculars work.
Speaker 6 (01:22):
This email though, he's right in so we would stop
talking about it, And now we're just gonna double down
on talking about Drake's day, just.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Like I don't.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
I don't really have time for children.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Listen, size matters, okay, all right, well it does, and
not enough players talk about like, you know, all of
a sudden, like I can't imagine going from college hockey
to pro hockey in the puck's.
Speaker 6 (01:38):
A little bit longer now, I mean mentally, I guess
I'm saying more for the physical aspect of yes, are
you ready to go?
Speaker 7 (01:44):
Choose?
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Like Miami can be taxing and Massachusetts tax Free Weekend
is coming up.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
This is Patriots Unfiltered.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Presented by Toyota's official website for deals, buy a Toyota
dot com. All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is
Thursday here at Jillette Stadium and we're just off the
practice field where the Patriots had a walkthrough in tennis shoes.
So it was a light workout today. They're kind of,
(02:13):
I think, treating today like a day before a game
because tomorrow they have an in stadium practice for season
ticket members in Foxborough, residents, other VIPs, and that'll be
sort of a mock game, you know. They'll treat that
like a game where they have the down a distance,
(02:33):
the crew, the chain gang referee. I assume. I think
I had a referee tomorrow. I don't know about referees,
but I don't know a lot of that. Yeah, but
they'll try to simulate a game as much as possible.
You know, they'll have a a halftime, quotes, come back out, offense,
defense and all that. So just to get ready for
(02:54):
next week, because next week is the first preseason game.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
Yes, like that joint practice is Wednesday. I well get
right after.
Speaker 6 (03:01):
It feels like in some ways this is kind of
the end of training camp portion and we're going to
get into the preseason next week.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
I don't know if that's a proper delineation.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
But yeah, so it's Dus, it's Paul will be joined
by Evan shortly, we'll be joined by Alex as well
and a special guest in our second hour.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
I hope they're wearing white, because we look like we
just came from a white party here with all the
three of us. Yeah, tight white. I don't have that
kind of money.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
We just copped it in from the Hamptons. Yeah, all right,
So you know, like I said, today was just a walkthrough,
So not much to really talk about today other than
who was there, who wasn't there, But you know, good
time to kind of recap the week maybe and as
we head into this stadium practice tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (03:44):
Yeah, I think there's one headline is mccollins is back out,
So that's a good sign, and looked like he jumped
right in and it was active played for Josh McDaniels
and the Raiders. So we've all known that Josh has
a plan for how he wants to use mac collins,
and now we'll start to see how he fits into
this loaded wide receiver room yep, loaded loaded well with
(04:04):
people crowded, with people crowded as another team wide receiver room.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah, I like the fact. And you know, Rabel had
his press conference yesterday he talked about Carlton Davis and
he said he's on a plan, you know, and he's
out there today running with you know, the first team
in the walkthrough. So that tells me that they wouldn't
do that if he wasn't in the cards for a while.
You know, so he'll be back soon, sooner than later,
(04:31):
I think. So I like seeing him out there doing
the walkthrough with the other defensive players.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
Yeah, interesting week for him next week, just with the
Commander's coming and joined practices. Do they ramp up with
him and let him compete against those guys or is
that a let's protect him. I don't think he'll play
much in the preseason game, but we'll see.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Because I don't even know why he's not practicing. I
don't know what his deal is now.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
It's a little strange, A little strange.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
Yeah, I mean these things are always you don't know
exactly what the plans are, what injur he might have had.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
But we've talked a lot about his situation, starting off.
Speaker 6 (05:03):
On an FI and then he's back and we've only
really seen him in walkthroughs now.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
So I think it's.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
Four or five of the last seven practices he hasn't
participated in.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
In the two that he did, we're both walked through.
So whatever it is.
Speaker 5 (05:18):
Is not overly serious to Fred's point, but they're to
me when you miss all of the practices, like right now,
they're not monitoring Christian Gonzales. We know he's dealing with
something with his leg right, So to me, it's not
just like Harold Landry is he's getting monitored. That's he
was given sort of like one of those veteran day
offs yesterday. So I think there's a little bit back
(05:41):
and forth. Do I think it's concerning, No, until I
find out otherwise, I'm not going to be concerned that
Carlton Davis isn't going to be physically ready for the
start of the season.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
But I do think it's a little bit more than
just plan.
Speaker 5 (05:54):
Yeah, you know what I mean, you know, I don't
think you missed that many practices is just part of
a plan. Like Morgan Moses is out there, he's in
and out of the team, that's a plan.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Oh yeah, Well I don't you know, Davis is he's
got something going on, right, and he's on a plan
to come back based on what that is. But I
have no idea what that is.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
Yeah, I agree, I agree.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Yeah. So Garrett Bradberry, Uh.
Speaker 6 (06:20):
We saw the same line today with Ben Brown at
center and Jared Wilson at left guard. Who's the you know,
the toast of the town for the moment, which is
which is great?
Speaker 4 (06:28):
I mean It's a great sign.
Speaker 6 (06:30):
Hopefully he is able to continue to improve and and
take advantage of all these reps he's getting, because right
now it seems like they're settling in on the five
that they that they like. I mean, we'll see how
it affected when Bradberry does get back, but that might
be the answer at left guard. That was one of
the biggest questions we had coming into the season, and
I didn't totally see Jared Wilson competing immediately for that spot.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
I thought he was more of a center.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
And maybe I thought he'd be just waiting in line
for center. But in fact, they like they no, they
they want to see him playing football on this team
sooner than like.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Yeah. I mean, it's clear that they like him. And
you know, just even just.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
Listening to Kayden Wallace talk about him yesterday, I think
that that he sort of made an impression. I have
a question, Mike. I don't know if you were the
one that that brought this up. I feel like someone
throw Cole Strange as sort of a surprise cut candidate
a long time ago. I now believe that Cole Strange
is a surprise Cup candidate.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
I don't even know if it's a surprise.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
I don't know how much of a surprise. I mean,
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
You spend the whole first week and with the first
guard and then you're not on the team.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
I think that would be a surprise.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
I think you could trade him for a second.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Maybe two. Yeah, it's I mean, it's disappointing. It might
be might be the end.
Speaker 6 (07:47):
I mean he's snapping now with the injuries that they
had to Brad Burry, and he's on the second team,
So it's it's I mean, it's Brent Brown at the top,
who had been really kind of the third string for
a large portion of of early reps. And yeah, Cole
Strange probably just trying to find a way might take
an injury. Some looks like Kayden Wallace now is elevated
to that second left guard spot, So it seems very
(08:09):
possible at this point without injuries, and of course we
still have a ways to go that.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
He could get And I'm not writing Cole Strange's roster
spot off yet because I think what they're doing right now,
like I think Cole Strange.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Is ahead of Caden Wallace at left guard.
Speaker 5 (08:23):
I think what they're trying to find out is if
Cole Strange isn't starting at left guard, there's their value
for him being able to play.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
All three spots the center.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Yeah, and they're trying to figure out if he can
play center, yeah, because I think that they were a
little concerned for some of the reasons that Evan Is
mentioned with Wilson at center, but not the least of
which is he's had some issues with the exchange. So
I think they're trying to figure out exactly what they
have behind brad Berry at center if need be, and
(08:52):
if Cole Strange can't play multiple spots, then I think
he has a chance to not be around.
Speaker 8 (08:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
I mean it's really hard to make the team as
a backup interior lineman without having position flex like if
you're locked in to one position on the interior line.
It had to be a situation like Jared Wilson's a
draft pick and is the top one hundred pick and
they're gonna keep him in the pipeline. But it's hard
(09:18):
to if you're you're three four five and you come
in and you really only can play left guard or
you can only play center. You know, you don't see
a lot of guys kept as like depth in that situation,
and with Jared Wilson that I've always I've thought that
gard would be the easiest path for him on the
field as a rookie. I think center is his best
long term position just in terms of the mechanics of
(09:41):
the line.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
But why do you think that?
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Because center is a lot like Mike linebacker or like
it sets the pace of the offensive line, so like
how much speed and range the line has a lot
of times can be dictated about like how athletic your
center is. So when you have like a really dynamic
athlete at center, it just allows you to do some
things in space and you know, outside zone screens like
(10:04):
things like that that can be really dynamic. Like obviously
the apex of it is Jason Kelcey, right, Like having
a center like that you can really run almost you know,
really helps you a lot. So having him at center
probably makes them a little bit more dynamic in terms
of that. But I left guard, all he's got to
do is block the guy in front of him, right,
he's not thinking about line calls, and he's not thinking
(10:26):
about snapping, and he's not thinking about, you know, are
we in the right protection or are we in the right.
Is mic points set correctly here? And is it three down?
Is it four down?
Speaker 4 (10:35):
What are we calling this?
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Instead you can just say, oh, we got I got
a guy lined up over me and I'm gonna block him.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Yeah, that's what I heard. They certainly think that Wilson's
a smart player, like he's got a high football IQ. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
How often?
Speaker 6 (10:49):
How common is that for players to maybe play one
position along the offensive line as a rookie and then
eventually end up with another spot.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Does that happen a lot?
Speaker 6 (10:57):
I mean, because people are still talking about We'll Campbell
could eventually end up at guard, So is it Would
it be weird to say in two years from now
that Wilson's the center and Will Campbell's the guard, But
they played their first year or two.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
As the left guard and the left tackle. Is that strange?
Does that happen? I think they have two on the
same offensive line.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
It's probably strange, but everyone would probably have more detailed
experience off the top of his head. But I feel
like there's a lot of guys that play different. You
know a lot of times it's one side or the other. Yeah,
you know, a lot of elite left tackles even the
elite ones played right tackle their.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
Rookie year and then they move over.
Speaker 5 (11:34):
And there have been you know, like the Brandon Sheriffs
of the world I can never pronounce that name. Start
at tackle and they end up at guard. So I mean, yeah,
I think there's probably a fair amount. But to have
two guys on the same line both change is probably
a little bit different.
Speaker 6 (11:51):
I know that it's common guys just can't quite hang it,
you know, hack it at tackle and they move inside.
I think that that's pretty common. But just generally play
a like left guard and then going to center. It's
this is interesting to me. It's interesting.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
I agree, you know, but I think they're a little different.
Speaker 6 (12:05):
Yeah, but ultimately just want the best combination you know
that you can get.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
So well, yeah, we'll see how it plays out this year.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Just how much of it is about one they just
want Wilson out there to get the experience of playing
and develop him. But also too, you know, how much
to what do they feel about col Strange right now
and where he's at. So, you know, if they feel
like Bradbury is their best center and they want to
get Jared Wilson on the field, there's really only one
way to do it, and it's to have him play
(12:32):
left guard. So it makes so much.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
Sense the way you laid it out.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
I mean, how perfect, Like you don't have to put
the mental load on him yet, but he's going to
get used to playing. It's it's generally you know, a
similar spot being inside. But yeah, interesting, I just I
don't recall that happening a lot, but it seems to
make a lot of sense that the team might want
to do.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
And I know, like I think sometimes we make too
much of these kinds of things. I wouldn't completely rule
out the fact that, you know, this regime brought in
Garrett Bradberry is a free agent. This regime drafted Jared Wilson,
who they really like. The last regime brought in Cole Strange.
(13:08):
So if you have the dilemma that Evan just unfolded
for us, Okay, it's not the worst thing to go
with odd guys, right, And I think that does happen.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
Should we make too much of it at times?
Speaker 5 (13:20):
Yes, It's not like teams sit Tom Brady because he
was part of the previous regime to play Mac Jones
because he's our guy.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
You know, that's not what we're talking about.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
You know, we're talking about situations that you know, it's six'
one half dozen the Other i'm gonna go with our,
guy a.
Speaker 6 (13:37):
Customer the scheme too, though you, know LIKE i know
exactly what you're, saying not just being the, guy but
it might. Be, look we brought this guy in because
he can do what we want him to, do and
these other guys aren't quite the fit schematically. Anybody you,
know it's not just a personal, thing it's it's really
based in how they.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Play that's happening all over the offensive, line like What
paul is, saying Like Leaden robinson And city so just
not really in the mix at all with the top.
Group so those guys were drafted By bill and drafted last.
Year With Leyden robinson's, Case Cayden wallace is now at
guard to this coaching, staff when last year they had
(14:11):
even talks about him at left, tackle let alone you,
know playing inside at. Guard so just a lot of
these guys that are, holdovers recent draft, picks it seems
like they're kind of going with their, guys which is. Understandable, okay.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
Good offensive line, Talk, Freddie.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Yeah, yeah. Yeah Oh wide receivers from where you thought
the room was stacked going into. Camp has it changed
in your?
Speaker 6 (14:40):
Mind, NO i think it's just been kind of solidified to,
me especially WITH.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Mtc hollins coming.
Speaker 6 (14:47):
BACK i MEAN i look At Booty, Hollins, Williams, Diggs,
douglas that five and you Know, Born Jalen, Polk Jaymon
baker who's come on a little. BIT i think that
they're hanging on by their fingernails right. NOW i don't
think that they're off the, roster but those three guys
might ben maybe one spot for those three, guys but
the top FIVE i think are kind of cemented in my.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Mind, YEAH i think right now is just a question
of you, know outside RECEIVER x, Receiver like how is
that depth chart gonna work itself? Out when you Have
Matt collins comes back today and he's right in, there
and Then Kayshawn boody's had a nice camp and he's,
involved And Javon baker's had a few flashes and like
those are that's sort of the. Three Maybe Kyle williams
is part of that as, Well so you, know how
(15:31):
exactly does that shake? Out AND i also can't help
but when every practice Noticed Kendrick bourne is just out
of place with the guys that he's playing. With and
what ends up happening With Kendrick, BOURNE i think is
an interesting topic because they might prioritize some of the
younger guys to develop those, players you, Know Kyle, Williams Javon,
Baker Jalen, Polk Efton. Chisholm you, know those guys might
(15:54):
be more if you're gonna keep him as like the sixth,
receiver you might want to keep a rookie that you're
developing instead of a guy Like Kendrick bourne who kind
of know who he. Is so can they Trade Kendrick?
Bourne is there something out there for? Him is it
Maybe patriots trade a player that they don't really have
a plan for for another team's player that they don't
really have a plan, for and that sort of. TRADE
(16:15):
i just every TIME i look, UP i feel Like
Kendrick bourne is playing with guys he doesn't belong. With
and it stands.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
Out the way That mike's put, IT i would agree,
with you, Know and maybe the one, slight very small
as surprise would be That booty has seemed to be
so much ahead Of bourn not necessarily that the same,
spot Because booty's playing THE x And bourne has done
a little bit of. Everything but it certainly seems That
(16:42):
booty has established himself As i'm with these guys over,
here and As evan, Said bourn's with the secondary.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
GUYS i wonder if maybe they. HAVE i don't know
how you guys.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
Feel do you think there would be any chance that
you could get a guy Like bourn if you liked
him but wanted to keep younger guys to, develop and
maybe you wanted to Get born on the practice squad
as a veteran for, Insurance like right, now there's really
no need For, Born but If diggs gets banged, up
(17:17):
do you want to Put polk out there? Right Or
Kendrick bourne out there? Right you, know something like.
Speaker 6 (17:24):
That it's a great, POINT i, think BECAUSE i look
At Kyle williams as the young kid that we're going
to have to get his feet wet a little. Bit
he's probably not going to be in every, game every,
down certainly. Not but how many of those young guys
that are unproven do you want to? Handle do you
want to Give Javon Baker polk like all those guys
are i'd see is in a similar. Bucket But, Born
you're totally, Right paul is not in that. Bucket he
(17:45):
is an established. Receiver if you had to throw him
in there in a, game he'd be ready to, Go
so that that might be an advantage for him that
they And.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Evans trade possibilities to me or they would ABSOLUTELY i
would rather trade him and get something for him than do,
that you, know just try to stash him on the
practice Squad i'm talking, about rather than just let him
go and lose him for. NOTHING i wonder if there's
any chance that you could get him on the practice.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Squad it's a tough blow, though to, him just to
consider putting a veteran, on you.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
KNOW i, mean that's a that's a hard CONVERSATION i
would assume to, have you, know having put him.
Speaker 5 (18:17):
Down but we've seen this with these new rules the
LAST i don't, know four or five years since since
the veterans have been eligible for the practice.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
Guard maybe not even that. LONG i don't, know it.
Happens who was the guy that they did it to.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
Last year they had a veteran receiver that they Put
they tried to the Returner Jalen rager and it didn't
work to your yea. TOO i think the point that
both of you guys are, MAKING i think that's what
their plan was was to try to do, that and
HE i think he bitched.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
About it and they ended up letting him.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
GO i, mean to be, fair Kenner bourne is a
better player Than jalen.
Speaker 5 (18:52):
ABSOLUTELY i was just thinking in terms of a veteran
receiver who probably felt he was above.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
THAT i just feel like it's, tough like he's he's
not subject to, waivers so like he's gonna be a
street free agent the second that they cut, him so
he can sign with any of the thirty one, teams
and like he's a SERVICEABLE nfl. RECEIVER i just can't
imagine that he would make it to a practice. SQUAD
i feel like he would be able to sign with
a team at some. Point your point about like having
(19:20):
him as depth is. GOOD i just do you want
to prioritize that Over LIKE i Know Afton chisholm is
is not your cup of, Tea, paul but like evidently
either if they really see something In Fton chishlm as
a slot receiver of the, future like kind of like
they saw With, edelman where like it might take a
couple of, years but eventually we are gonna feel like
(19:42):
this guy can can play for. Us you, know if
they really feel that way about ft And, chisholm is
it do you Cut Efton chisholm to keep a guy
Like Kendrick, bourne you, know who doesn't have long term
plans here right In New? England and that those are
the tough. Decisions like Obviously Afton chishm probably has a
better chance of being on the practice, SQUAD i would,
(20:02):
think unless he has a preseason and he goes crazy
in but that those are the CONVERSATIONS i feel like
they're gonna have to. Have is, like you, know we
have upside With, baker we have potential upside With. Chisholm
we kind of know What bourn, is you, know do
we want to keep these guys instead of?
Speaker 6 (20:17):
Him BUT i think Even polk And baker could be
practice squad guys. TOO i, mean all those GUYS i
think would make it. Through and it's just how like you,
said how do you stack it all?
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Up what do you? Want? Insurance what?
Speaker 6 (20:27):
Spots so, yeah it's it's but right now it seems
pretty clear to me that you're gonna.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
ROLL i always find it fun to play those games
like there's no. Answer no one knows until it, happens
but we all say.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
No no way he getting through.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
It LIKE i would JUST i would probably say polk
is a second round. Pick someone might, say, no we
kind of liked. Him we thought there was something. There
he could use a change of. Scenery Whereas, BAKER i
think probably he was red flagged by a lot.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
Of teams coming out of the draft that.
Speaker 5 (20:54):
YEAR i think a lot of people probably weren't interested in,
them and if if he gets released right, away they're
probably gonna, say, well, see that's that's why we weren't
interested in him in the first. Place he flamed out.
Speaker 6 (21:03):
Already that's what's, interesting, though is is you know YOU
i still feel Like Javon baker's got this ceiling out, there,
that's you, know mysterious ceiling because he's got athletic, talent and.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
You guys are, right He's he's made a few plays.
Speaker 6 (21:14):
The LAST i mean, honestly through the first few days
it felt, like oh, man HE i, mean even through
OTAs And mini, camp like he didn't seem like he
was getting out of that hole any and but credit to,
him he's made some plays and you, know hopefully he's
been performing behind the scenes as. Well but you, Know
polk's a second round. Pick stanaker's got a ceiling stacking.
Days they're out there every. Day, now, yeah that's good
(21:35):
for these these. Receivers they need to be out.
Speaker 5 (21:37):
There, Obviously poke got a slow, start but you know
he's been in pads every, day and you know that's
the only way that these guys are going to cover.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Od role for. Themselves those are the guys in joint.
PRACTICE i feel like that we'll have real opportunity to
get a lot of.
Speaker 6 (21:49):
REPS i don't think they're going to run digs out
there very much against these, guys certainly not in the.
Preseason so this will be the stuff to watch in the.
Preseason this is probably where these questions will be.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
Answered but it's THE i think you're right to focus
on the joint practice because the preseason, game you, KNOW
i think we get lost in that because it's it's,
flashy and you, know it's it's my time to.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Shine i'm not just missing preseason.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
Games put some stuff on discount, furniture BUT.
Speaker 5 (22:16):
I think it's much more important for those guys to
show and get opportunities in the joint, practice BECAUSE i
do think they'll run digs out there in the joint
practice with the first. GROUP i think those guys are
going to be out there like we see every day.
Now but did the other guys get a chance and
when they, do do they make them most of the.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Opportunities maybe it's just my my my draft take THAT
i won't let die With Javon. Baker LIKE i Like
Javon baker coming, out AND i was really excited when
they drafted, him but to do this his, pointed but like
he had he makes some plays where it's just like
specimen type, plays you, know like where he's just blowing
past the defense and catching that touchdown From Drake may
earlier in the, week or you, know he high pointed
(22:56):
one in the red zone where he went to level
ten and the corner only get to seven and he
was just, yeah exactly on his Head and that's exactly
what you see from. Him and it's just consistency and
like buy in and just being a pro and like
being able to do it every single day and like
if that can click for him he's got so much,
Talent like he has so much raw, talent and his
(23:18):
skill set is so different than some of the other
guys that they, Have like he's he's a much different
mover than Like Keaishan, Boodie like he's got those long
strides and he's got some deep speed and he's got
that yeah, right and you know Or Kyle williams who's
smaller and more. Slighter so if he can just like
tap into it and just harness it a little, BIT
i feel like he's got the potential to be AN
(23:41):
nfl player just to be in a.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
Pro part That evan brings up is WHY i brought
up the consistency. Factor he's been out there every. Day
we haven't really heard from. HIM i think he's gotten
better as the camps have gone.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
On is there haven't been these peaks and valleys that
we saw a little bit over last. YEAR i think
he's generally been on the. Rise now we'll see if
he can continue.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
It you, know WE'VE i know that there's probably listeners
like here you, go they're talking about these wide receivers
again that we haven't really ever seen do anything in.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Games you're, right they have. To that's why we're. Here
they have to show.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
You they have to show you that they can do
it every, day not just once in a. While BUT
i do think this first week of camp For Javon
baker has been better than last.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
Year, yes in terms of his. Consistency, yeah his size
and speed is just.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Different like they don't have guy a guy that has
that exact combination of like six, one six two with
a four or. Five like that's not that's Not Keasehan,
boodie that's Not Kyle. WILLIAMS i, Mean Mac collins is
his own. Thing SO i JUST i won't give.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
UP i won't Give we've mentioned that several times in this,
show the comments That Elliott wolf made after the end
of last, season where AND i he was obviously referring
to the wide receivers when he said, this we hope
that they would get more, support and they. Did and
he's referring to the. Coaching that's a significant thing for
A gm to. Say so you wonder how much influence
(25:09):
he has on the decision that's coming. Up you, Know,
no this Guy baker can be a player poke if
he gets he can be you, know like you wonder
because those were his.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Picks you, know this is kind of along those. LINES
i thought it was.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
Interesting drake was ON Nfl network yesterday and he was
asked About Pop douglas and the first thing he said was,
like he's lining up in the right, spots and you,
know that to me just really stood out and it
was something that we were critical of me. Too AND
i like a That drake is kind of taking ownership
(25:44):
and leadership and calling guys out a little, bit but
also great great For pop that we knew that that
was something he was going to have to improve on
With josh McDaniels and his system and needing to be
a little bit more. Cerebral SO i think that was
just a cherry on top of a really solid start
for probably.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
We always knew was a. Weapon now he can a super.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Weapon, yeah, Yeah, no the cerebral is a good word
For LIKE i remember last, Year drake had him on
like a slant and they just missed. It and if
he had caught it in, stride he was he was.
Gone and they after the, game everybody was Blaming drake
for missing the throw and you know, Whatever And Alex
Van pelt said at the time that Like pop ran
(26:24):
the route at five steps and it was supposed to
be at seven or like something like. That like it
was like a route.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
Depth vaguely remember that.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Thing and it's like that's such a minutia. Thing and
at the end of the, day like it's a wide open,
receiver you probably should have put it on him, anyways
like it so everybody's kind of the blame, There but
like if that's the difference Between pop being just a
nice third receiver and then like in a thousand yard,
RECEIVER i don't, know but maybe it, Is like maybe
that is the next step for, him is having it
(26:51):
up here and being able to think the game as
well as the physical.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Attributes, yeah all, right eight Five pats five hundred is
the hotline pot cast At patriots dot. Com is the
way to email us. Again alex will be here. Soon
where she was out.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
She was out. Front she she was like shooting a
thing With. Jack they were working on. Something SO i don't,
know maybe she got a little tight.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
UP i, okay but she'll be here and then we'll have,
uh possibly a special guest in the second. Half, yeah.
Possible i'm getting a thumbs up from the From alex
in the, booth so very special, guests very very very.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
Special who's going to be very excited to be?
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Here, yeah, uh the person will be very excited to be.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
HERE i could throw another position. Group maybe we did
a solid twenty minutes to our. Receivers But evan AND
i are talking a little about the safety position where
it seems Like duggar And peppers certainly are right back
in the middle of, that but it still seems like
they're trying to figure out the rest of that rotation
and how it's going to go between you, Know Jalen
hawkins And Marcus, apps and you know even the Rookie Craig,
(27:52):
woodson who really haven't seen a lot of him with
the top.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Group but otherwise it.
Speaker 6 (27:56):
Feels like that third safety spot and that role is really.
OPEN i Think jalen hawk might be in it right,
now but just a significant role that we've talked about.
Speaker 4 (28:05):
A lot that still seems to be up in the.
Speaker 6 (28:07):
Air WHEN i feel like after a week in a
day things will settled for me a lot across the.
Roster injuries have complicated the cornerback, position but it somewhat
the offensive line. Position but you, know, OVERALL i think
that's one of the few positions WHERE i still kind
of feel like there are some questions about how it's
all going to shake, out and an admittedly smaller.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
Role it's, not you, know starter role.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Necessarily it's an important role, though because it puts everybody
in the right, Spots like if you have to Have
we've seen, it like if you Have duggart Or pepper's
playing twenty five yards off the, ball it's just not
where they're best, utilized playing in the deep part of the.
Field it just makes it a lot better if they
can have somebody Be we always like call Out Deron harmon,
(28:47):
right like just can you just Be Deron, harmon you,
know not asking you to be, like you, know a
ten time all, pro but like just play the role,
well be in the right. Places it's it's not you, know,
uh it's not a it's a small role in terms
of snaps, maybe BUT i think in terms of game,
leverage it's important because it's third, down it's fourth. Quarter
(29:10):
gotta have its. Situations it's, like you, know, okay we're
up three the two minute drills on the opponent has the,
ball they're driving down the, Field like how are we
going to close this? Game how are we going to
win this? Game and those moments are huge and like
how many times Did Ron harmon make a pick at
those exact moments throughout his career where the ball is
just kind of like kind of Depault and those are
(29:35):
those plays like that that helped That chung was in
the box and mccordy was playing robber And harmon was
over the top and they just, knew they knew where
everybody was and this scroup needs to find That they're
they're spinning the wheel a little bit. There they're trying
to find who it's going to be THEY i can
you can see it like every practice is somebody.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
Different based on the, SPRING i Thought woodson was really
making a push AND i would agree THAT i have
it's seen the same kind of push since training camp has.
Started today when they went with, dime looks it Was
hawkins with with those, guys AND i do agree there's
a sneaky importance to it BECAUSE i think they had
(30:14):
in the dime it was three, corners three.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
SAFETIES i don't think you you.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
Know maybe you can make the argument that Of gonzalez is,
there that's you, know because he's not part of it,
Today so maybe you could go with an extra. Corner
but now you're, wondering, like Is Marcus jones can he
can he play back?
Speaker 4 (30:30):
There is he big?
Speaker 5 (30:31):
ENOUGH i know he's rangy, Enough he's got obviously the
athleticism to play back. There BUT i do, wonder you
know how they feel about. That marcus EPs has flashed
a little bit at. TIMES i think during CAMP i
think there are different, options but someone is going to
need to solidify that.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
ROLE i do think it's sneaky.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
Important and To evan's point about them spinning the dial
watching some of the position, Drills i've Seen Isaiah bolden
with the safeties almost as often As i've seen him with.
Corners SO i do wonder if they're looking that's another
guy with tremendous. Speed by the, WAY i wonder if
they're just continuing to look for.
Speaker 6 (31:07):
Options, Yeah we're getting to the point now in practices
Where i'm starting to really kind of lock in on
the special teams periods just to see how they view
the depth chart for special.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
Teams AND i didn't have to. WATCH i Knew mike
was going to have me on.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
That you know who's going to be the nice way
to find like the fifty second and fifty third guy
that's going to make the team while he was the
guy that's on four different special teams.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
Units who saw Del pettis last year.
Speaker 5 (31:29):
Coming it was WHEN i told you guys this morning
About Jaheim bell and the OBSERVATION i made About, BELL
i figured for, sure.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
You guys can be all over me for.
Speaker 5 (31:37):
That yesterday they did they close practice we kick offs
yesterday and they did one and Then.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
Chase on was one of the guys that was in.
Speaker 5 (31:48):
There and the next rep they had the same, ten
Only Jehean bell Replaced Chase, on AND i was, like
maybe they have something in mind For. Bell let's get
to the phones and the.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Emails we'll start With emery In. Virginia what's, Up?
Speaker 9 (32:05):
Emery good, afternoon. Gentlemen, hey, LISTEN i just wanted to
some comments in regards to the wide receiver. GROUP i
just think the fans needs to, relax you, know during
this Our Super bowl runs and, stuff we never really
(32:26):
had no what you call a super bona five number one,
receiver not Including Randy. Morris we didn't even win The
Super bowl With Randy. Morris we had guys Like Troy
brown giving the patent, Branch, Eldeman Amon, Doola Hogan, mitchell
And Brandon. Lafel NOW i Know. Elleman he turned out
(32:49):
to be a very very good and probably gonna be
in The hall Of fame one. Day but he developed
here and we had a great, quarterback we had very good,
coaching and we had competent guys that went out at
Won Super. Bowl SO i just think we just need
to chill with, this you, know like we got to
have a super dup number, one you, Know, no just
(33:12):
let's get some company guys out there who know how
to play. Football Let brave want his staff coach them,
up and let's go win Another Super.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
Bowl, yeah, Okay Jake, SAMMERY i Mean emery Mentioned Tom.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
BRADY i agree with all of.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
That, yeah you, Know Tom, bradley we have. IT i
think you don't need a superstar With Tom, brady and he's.
Right if you have a good quarterback and competent smart
receivers know the, role do it, well you, can you
can get, by but it helps to have that one
guy that opens it.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
UP i just don't know if you can get, by
and we.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Saw what happened once they finally.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
DID i would also say from seven to nineteen they
had A hall Of famer as this lead.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Receiver well, yeah, yeah SO i mean it's easy to
say he got by with, less, right he kind of really.
Speaker 9 (34:04):
Didn't.
Speaker 5 (34:05):
Yeah, early As evan, said early in his, career when
you didn't really have to throw the ball to. Win,
Yeah Troy brown was the number one guy who probably
wasn't A hall Of fame caliber.
Speaker 4 (34:14):
Receiver he was pretty, good but he was his.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
Number one, guy And Corey dillon ran the ball for
eight thousand yards and that's how they, won and they
had great.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
Defense you don't really win that way.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Anymore, YEAH i don't think you need Like Jamar chase level,
Receiver like it doesn't have to be the best receiver in.
Football BUT i JUST i, mean you always look at
last Year's Super bowl champ, like they have two receivers
that might be the best receiver here if they were
on The patriots. Roster SO i think it's it's a
different game than When brady first started. Out and then
you also the Then brady Became, brady and it's, like
(34:45):
well then you Have Tom, brady, right so, like, Yeah
Tom brady can Drive Kembro topkins And Austin colly And
Aaron dobson down the field to the game win a.
Touchdown BUT i would like to hope that we don't
Expect drake to do. That SO i just think it's
tough TO i HEAR i like him in the middle
of whatevery is, SAYING i agree with. THAT i don't
think you have superstar receivers. Everywhere, yeah BUT i agree
(35:07):
with good receiver to two.
Speaker 6 (35:09):
Points first of, ALL i Mean Stefan diggs looks like
the best receiver that we've had in these parts since.
Speaker 4 (35:13):
When like who is like Prime.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
Edleman, yeah so you, KNOW i appreciate the call from,
memory but like you, know we're not quite in the
depths quite as we've been the last couple of.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Years but that's what he's.
Speaker 3 (35:24):
Saying, WELL i, know.
Speaker 6 (35:25):
And that's you, know but but you, know point, Out
digs looks, Good diggs looks ready to, go and my
success look.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
Good my second point Is Drake may's look really.
Speaker 6 (35:32):
Good and so If Drake may picks up this offense
and knows what he's, doing which he looks like he,
does and you, know looks like he is ready to
take a jump in his second. Season it matters a
whole lot. Less so you're you're fighting it a both.
Ends your quarterback is going to be better and you've
got a better. Receiver So i'm optimistic about this offense And,
drake Especially drake can take us if he if he
keeps playing like he's been, playing he's GONNA.
Speaker 5 (35:52):
I agree with everything and what he, said and he's,
like they don't need, this they don't need, that they
just need a bunch of. COMPETENCE i would agree with.
EVERYTHING i just don't know if they have. That i'm
waiting to see if they have. THAT i Think diggs is.
That i'm waiting to see about all the all the
rest of the. GUYS i don't even know who they're
all going to. Be but, yes you can Get But
Brandon lafel was a very valuable player for. THEM i
(36:14):
don't know if they have A Brandon lafel, right But.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Brandon lafel is he was playing Off, Kronk he's playing Off.
Edelman was the third or fourth thing.
Speaker 5 (36:22):
My point being, is you, KNOW i like What Kayshan
bouti has done in a week of.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
Camp can he Be Brandon? Lafel? MAYBE i don't know
the other.
Speaker 5 (36:31):
Party AND i know What evan's, saying like it was
easier For LaFell because he had so much other stuff around.
Speaker 4 (36:36):
Him BUT i don't know. What these these guys are, unproven.
Speaker 6 (36:40):
Right and they can never forget that it's not always
just a wide. Receiver so you number one tight, end
that's What gronk. Was he was a number one, Too
so maybe that's something that you know develops a Long.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
When you're talking offense and you're talking the, dynasty it's
hard to make comparisons Because Tom brady skewed. Everything he skewed,
everything so you have to start, With, okay you don't
have brain, right but the.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
Core is still and this is what we've been looking.
For look for the. Quarterback you, know if you have the,
quarterback you're gonna be in the.
Speaker 6 (37:10):
Mix he's gonna help you win some. Games and then you,
know you start to stack around, him and you, know
Then drake. Starts the whole guy's, accountable and then those
guys start to hit that next.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
Level that's the.
Speaker 6 (37:19):
Hope you, know it's not all gonna happen this, Year
but for, me this second year A, drake it looks
like it's headed in a really positive, direction and that
this kid looks like it get he gets, it and
that's that's that's the best sign of. All i'd rather
have that than, have you, know this amazing wide receiver
here And drake's out there throwing picks every.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
Other, throw you, know like The molak neighbors In New.
York is that what's going?
Speaker 3 (37:39):
On but, YEAH i would just say, too LIKE i
don't want to downplay What diggs's looks like so far
in these practices, because LIKE i THINK i said this
yesterday on catch twenty, Two, like, dude The patriots might
have the fantasy relevant receiver for the first time in
like half a, Decade LIKE i, like if you're drafting for,
fantasy like dig is a legitimate person to draft in
(38:02):
a fantasy.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
Draft.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
NOW i don't know if the last TIME i had.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
That Nathan connecticut's on the. Line what's, Up?
Speaker 5 (38:07):
Nate thank you?
Speaker 10 (38:09):
Guys Rem well, yeah, Yeah so FIRST i.
Speaker 7 (38:13):
Just want to SAY i apologize for not calling.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
In, yeah we were.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
TALKING i was thinking about that.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Name, yeah we were all. WORRIED i, Know i'm.
Speaker 10 (38:20):
Sorry.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
Yeah across, Camp oh last, camp how'd you?
Speaker 7 (38:25):
DO i?
Speaker 10 (38:27):
THOUGHT i did pretty. Well you know we had a
pl guy was A pl.
Speaker 7 (38:31):
Camp he's done take text and gets you sines out
of the Cross. Paul that was really.
Speaker 10 (38:39):
Cool but, yeah the main reason.
Speaker 7 (38:41):
Why paul did want to talk about The imagine.
Speaker 10 (38:44):
Rating SO i know the highest rookie And john though.
Speaker 7 (38:53):
Was the ninety five the second highest, uh second highest
graded corners the.
Speaker 10 (39:00):
Game what are your thoughts on double.
Speaker 7 (39:02):
Overalls kind of like where they do you Think GONZO'S
i Think gonzo's makes physically, fine.
Speaker 9 (39:10):
BUT i know that.
Speaker 7 (39:13):
Maybe like a dish a lot of guy he's.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Good, YEAH i did see That gonzo's second highest rated
corner in the. GAME i think Behind Patrick, serftan which
is thanks pretty. CRAZY i mean he was a second
Team All pro so it's he's right and the running
there AND i saw the. BOXES i appreciate mad and
know when it comes to, corners not putting any respect
on zone corners like do that on your own, Time, like,
(39:37):
Oh i'm just going to play the deep third on
my side of the, Field like, Cool, yeah our guy
he shadows. People, okay he, goes he takes the number,
one he, travels he, goes he goes in the slot
zero goes in the slot with. Him that's a lot
harder than you're playing your zone drop over. There so
good On madden for.
Speaker 4 (39:56):
That me And never were walking Behind gonzo a few days,
ago just Just i'm.
Speaker 6 (40:00):
Like i've seen him, before but like he's a, Specimen
like he's just the perfect kind of cornerback. BILL i,
MEAN i think he's listed at like six to, one
but he seems bigger than that to. Me he's still
a young, kid SO i think he's maybe he's filling
out more and that's what kind.
Speaker 4 (40:14):
Of put on some. Bulk BUT i mean it's from
last season to this. SEASON i don't have anything to confirm.
Speaker 3 (40:21):
That BUT i don't have anything to add about The madden.
Speaker 4 (40:23):
Ratings do you think you're very upset about? HIM i
couldn't have any less to add about The Madden.
Speaker 5 (40:29):
Rams it'll never cease to amaze me people's fascination with uniform,
numbers uniforms in, general And madden.
Speaker 3 (40:37):
Ratings so do you want the do you want the
top the top? Five here on, Five i'll stop at.
Five Patrick surtan number, one ninety, Seven gonzo number, Two
Sauce gardner number, Three trent McDuffie number, Four Jalen ramsey number,
Five Derek stingley number.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
Six duffy is he the?
Speaker 4 (40:56):
One is he one of the ones that got away
that the cost this? Year one of the? Yes the
original was the trade.
Speaker 3 (41:05):
DOWN i remember at the time of the, Draft trent
McDuffie went with The patriots original selection and there was
like a mix up with the call, line and like
at first it got reported that The patriots Drafted trent,
McDuffie but it was actually The chiefs that Drafted trent
McDuffie with The. Patriots tough.
Speaker 1 (41:22):
One brad's In. Ohio, Hey, brad.
Speaker 10 (41:30):
All, right it's talking TO.
Speaker 9 (41:34):
I want TO i agree with the caller about.
Speaker 10 (41:37):
The receivers, too.
Speaker 9 (41:39):
Like you, did and he's a spot on with, that.
Speaker 10 (41:43):
And SO i just wanted to give him a shout.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
Out, okay and THEN.
Speaker 11 (41:50):
I think that we should PROBABLY i think what's going
to happen with the receiver ring that we're gonna keep
more receieve then we technically would simply because if we
have the.
Speaker 12 (42:05):
Lack of.
Speaker 10 (42:08):
And we lost, it which is not you, know that's
really hurt our. OFFS i agree With evan.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
And all of.
Speaker 10 (42:16):
You we need to full, back not all of us With.
Daniels so what do you guys think about?
Speaker 11 (42:23):
That Seth moore whom steps based on the fact that
we don't have depth in other areas you know?
Speaker 3 (42:33):
Too, YEAH i feel like we were talking about that bread,
practice like if you if it comes you. Know another
guy that was noticeably with one of the groups today
the top group Was Land. Larrison they gave him maybe
a little bit more reps, today and, like would you
rather Keep Land larrison who's flashed a little bit and
shown some potential over one of these third tight ends
(42:54):
who hasn't really done the same thing just because it's
a tight end versus running.
Speaker 4 (42:59):
Back, YEAH i would rather keep the better.
Speaker 5 (43:02):
Player and to answer the, question whatever amount of receivers
they're going to, KEEP i don't think is going to.
VARY i, MEAN i don't know if they're going to keep, six, seven,
FOUR i don't know what they're going to keep for.
Receivers BUT i think it's a dangerous game to get. Into,
well you only have two tight, ends so let's keep eight,
receivers and you've got to find the best players that
(43:23):
you have. Available Land, larison to me today Took Antonio
gibson spot who wasn't out. There if they think he's
one of the best, Players i'm all for Keeping Lane.
Larison if they Think Jalen polk is better Than Lane
larison and you want to keep a seventh receiver or
eft And chishm, whoever THEN i would keep Beftin. CHISLM
(43:44):
i think that's what needs to be especially with young.
Guys it's Like larys And. Chism to, me that's a
direct comparison to young. Guys you got to decide which
guy you want to develop the, most that you have
the most faith in being able to.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
Develop so of all the, positions if you had to, say,
okay and you can only pick, one this is the
position where we're going to keep an extra, player then
we normally do what position would you do right?
Speaker 6 (44:10):
Now, Off, Yeah i'm just going to SAY i think there,
too just to just to make sure if not cornerback
plus you.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
Get like the extra spot on game day. Too if
you carry the extra active player on game, day you
get forty seven instead of.
Speaker 1 (44:25):
Six SO i just think it's unlikely that all the
receivers that we have right now are just so good
that we have to keep an extra. ONE I i you,
know like so like you keep an extra one just
to have an extra. One, now if you do get
(44:45):
hit with, injuries you could probably just pick up somebody
off on.
Speaker 4 (44:49):
One of those.
Speaker 5 (44:49):
Guys it's probably going to be. AVAILABLE i, mean that's
on the Practice let's let's lookd at it from a
really objective spot. Here by most of these, metrics The
patriots wide receiver group is considered to be bottom. Five
so do you really think there's going to be a
lot of clamoring to pick up the guys that couldn't
make you a bottom five receiver. Group you're probably going
(45:13):
to be, able As evan just, said to put these
guys on the practice squad and then have them at
your disposal if you need them.
Speaker 4 (45:18):
Or they get the, flu right and then and they
get the, flu then you can't use it.
Speaker 6 (45:22):
Later the front office and the coaches know a lot
more about these players than we. Do we only see
them on the. Field they see them behind the, scenes
and it's it's questions like do you feel Like Javon
baker is going to suddenly hit that potential and we
just can't give up on him. Yet he's got too
much potential and it's such a valuable.
Speaker 4 (45:39):
Position you, Know we've we.
Speaker 6 (45:41):
Invested maybe the scouting staff is looking At Jalen polk,
saying we still really love this.
Speaker 4 (45:45):
Kid we drafted, him and you, know it goes back
out one if they feel like, that, right you know
WHAT i?
Speaker 3 (45:51):
Mean, YEAH i JUST i GUESS i look at, it
like do we JUST i feel like there's like a
group of four receivers that are all kind of the
same in the same, boat and it just it's not
so much THAT i think that they're all so talented
that we have to keep them. ALL i just don't
know which one is the right one to keep. Me
so it's just like if you just keep as many
as you, can then maybe like you just throw those
(46:13):
blind darts and eventually one of them hits like sort
of thing like they like to douce his, point like
they know which one to, keep you like to, think
but they make mistakes all the time when it comes
to that kind of.
Speaker 5 (46:24):
Stuff so, YEAH i Like deuce's you know analysis there,
though like if you if they feel like these guys
STILL i still don't know enough. Yet i'm not ready
to pull the plug by all, means keep an extra
one do it Was brad, RIGHT i Think brad wanted
to keep you, know was thinking about maybe they'll keep
an extra. One by all means don't don't discard a
(46:44):
guy that you still believe. In it's because you think
the roster needs to, be you, know constructed a certain.
Way and plus we all know this happens a million.
Times what you see On september seventh is not what
you're going to end up seeing for the balance.
Speaker 6 (46:58):
Of the, season especially a position like wide receiver where
you're searching and sometimes that does. Happen offensive, line we
all talked about keeping an extra, guy And i'll use
this transition to talk about Guy Truman, jones Who evan
AND i both clocked.
Speaker 4 (47:10):
Yesterday not a lot of, reps but.
Speaker 6 (47:12):
Every now and then he's popping in there really thin
overall in the edge. Depth and you know he's a
guy that was around last.
Speaker 4 (47:19):
Year but you, know do you do you give up
on edge rushers early AS i. Need it was on
the it was on the HIGH.
Speaker 7 (47:27):
I didn't.
Speaker 6 (47:27):
Have it wasn't anything, big was JUST i, know it
was like a couple of reps at the, start and
then Inferony jennings comes in and it's, like, well are
they just, saying, hey cup in, there get a little
you get your feet? Wet or is it this kid's
Pushing let's give them a couple. Reps you don't, know don't,
know so just to see him out.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
There these are the things that clock you clock.
Speaker 3 (47:45):
With this is like a glass half, full glass half
empty thing For deuce because he was given his, Boy
Trey jacobs the business and, practice especially in one on.
Ones Uh Tremaine jones got got him twice and one
with like a really good spin move put him in
the spin sec smart. Too Harvard he did go To,
Harvard so, YEAH i Mean edge Dep we talked about that.
(48:06):
Too you, Know Chase on looks like he's a, player
looks like they might have hit on. Him LANDRY i
think is going to be. Solid Keon white's going to
be out. There But swinson ponder Maybe Truman jones is
in that conversation, too like who's the fourth? Guy you,
know who's going to be the extra guy they KEEP.
Speaker 6 (48:21):
I got a way too early question like this just
popped in THEM i had With Chase, on IS i
know The patriots are sitting on you, know still have
a bunch of cap space at, least, like do you
do you look at extending somebody at some point they
have that. Money do you identify a player Like Chase
on and feel, like, man it's really clicking for him
at a high value position that we need to ensure long.
Speaker 4 (48:39):
Term he's still a young.
Speaker 6 (48:40):
Guy to someone like him who's only here right now
on a one year, deal do, they you, know maybe
make a move something like?
Speaker 1 (48:46):
That Ellen wisconsin writes In, So i'm not going to go.
Crazy it's week two of training, camp but it really
feels like this is the first time in five years
that it looks like they've had AN nfl. Offense don't
know how good it will, be but at LEAST nfl
well caliber seems like a huge. Jump what are your.
Speaker 3 (49:02):
Thoughts i'm assuming what you mean since twenty twenty one
that five, YEARS i don't know time five?
Speaker 4 (49:08):
Four, yeah it, does it. Does i'm.
Speaker 5 (49:11):
OPTIMISTIC i haven't seen that, yet, Though i'm. Optimistic, yeah
AND i was not optimistic at this time last.
Speaker 4 (49:18):
Year, no neither WAS.
Speaker 6 (49:20):
I i, mean and then you were really not optimistic
when The eagles came in. Here so get a lot
of information next week with The commanders or The patriots
able to make some, plays take some place LIKE i
think that last Year eagles joint practice sums it up
perfectly for me because it felt like The eagles just overwhelmed.
THEM i Think patriots made some plays on the defensive
side of the, ball but offensively they couldn't even run their.
(49:41):
Offense so let's get into That wednesday practice next. Week,
See i'm Sure redskins The commanders will make some, Plays i'm,
sure but can The patriots continue to punch back bounce.
Back that's one Thing i've really liked About Drake summers
that if he's had a day where he was a little,
off like a couple of days, ago didn't really seem
to affect, him came, back continues to be effective and
continues to not throw, interceptions, which let's face, it that
(50:03):
was the buzzword for all of us all off season About.
Drake so that's to, me it's just a, tangible great
sign of a guy who needed to cut down on the.
Speaker 4 (50:10):
Turnovers that that's what he's doing in. Camp we'll see
if it, translates but that's all you can ask of
him at this.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
Point let's See tyler writes in From South. CAROLINA i
just wanted to hear your thoughts in the linebacker. Room
seems like we've solid depth of the defensive, line but
how do we feel about depth at? Linebacker you guys
have mentioned a splane goes down that could really be
a major hit to the. Team has there been any
other players to step on training camp so? Far Jack
(50:35):
Gibbons Christian ellis also would love to hear your thoughts
in the about the cornerback. Room who do you guys
think will make the fifty three man Roster in that?
Speaker 3 (50:43):
Room Jack gibbons Put La larrison into Next wednesday yesterday
and that was fun to.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
Watch, yeah that was.
Speaker 3 (50:49):
Cool it was the first TIME i feel Like i've
Noticed Jack. Gibbons and that doesn't mean that he hasn't done,
anything BUT i just the first real flash of, like,
okay hey there he. Is So Christian ellis And Robert
splaine right now divide not? Practicing are your top two
linebackers pretty consistently every? Practice SO i think those two
(51:09):
guys are. There Jack gibbons seems like a nice like
third Linebacker corps special teamer type that will be in
the mix as, well and then we have the experience
experiment Of marte mop who at linebacker going on. Too
so that's been like your top four in these practices so.
Speaker 4 (51:26):
FAR i kind of wish you had a guy Like
gibbons last.
Speaker 6 (51:28):
YEAR i, mean it's gonna be a huge drop off
As spolene went, down BUT i feel like he at
least has the experience in the. SMARTS i real questions
About Christian ellison. Exactly you, know last year felt like
he was thrust into playing a full time role on.
Defense he's primarily been a special. Teamer he's been a
key piece right next To Robert spolne for most of this.
CAMP i, mean is he ready to take a? Jump
(51:49):
is he ready to really bloss him in this? OFFENSE
i know he could, Run he's he's got, speed you,
know but last year was it was. CHOPPY i don't
think anybody would have come out of the end like
after the last game last year and been, like that's
a guy we need to hold on to one.
Speaker 4 (52:01):
Defense and so that to me a little bit.
Speaker 6 (52:03):
Interesting here was It Alex Park because So i'm interested
to see how that all fits together and If ellis
is able to really Compliment. Splaine but it all starts With.
Splain he is now your guy in the, middle making the,
calls setting the, tone and hopefully making the.
Speaker 4 (52:19):
Plays and he's been really active all.
Speaker 1 (52:21):
Camp Pete, seattle, right Sim we all agree That bradberry
is a below average, center especially when it comes to pass.
Protection that, SAID pff ranks him as an above average run.
Blocker in twenty four with The, Vikings evan And barth
spoke yesterday On cast twenty two about how good a
run game can help pass. Protection my question is, this
(52:41):
given that The vikings in twenty four had a stationary
quarterback In, bradford and we're a very pass heavy.
Speaker 4 (52:47):
Offense, yeah who's not a stationary Quarter?
Speaker 1 (52:50):
YEAH i, Continue, YEAH i was thinking At bradford and
that the twenty Five pats will have a run heavy
offense with a mobile. Quarterback is it fair to think
that the twenty Five patriot it might be a much
better fit For bradbury's skill set at. CENTER i think.
Speaker 3 (53:05):
That's a long.
Speaker 10 (53:07):
Way.
Speaker 13 (53:09):
Yeah but.
Speaker 3 (53:11):
WHAT i like about BRAD i like his. Athleticism that
was the thing that got him. Drafted it was very
highly athletic, center and because of, that it translates to
probably the run game a little bit better because he
can get out and move and make blocks on the.
Move but WHAT i like about Brad berry is the,
experience you. KNOW i think it's a guy that you can.
Trust he's a, steady experienced, veteran AND i think that
(53:34):
that's going to go a long way if you have
two rookies starting and you, know a lot of new
faces on that offensive line to begin with a second year,
Quarterback like it helps to have a center that's year
seven in the league and has seen everything and knows
what he's looking. At SO i don't really have very,
many like big concerns About. BRADBERRY i Think bradbury is
going to be fine for. Them it's also just it's a,
(53:56):
center and that's a piece of it. Too BUT i
think he's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (54:00):
Okay deshaun's In. Virginia Hate DeShawn.
Speaker 14 (54:05):
Good Oppeno yeah Hate. Hey that's WHY i thought to
a few. Things like the first thing is LIKE i
feel like as long as they picked the right receiver
that's been playing in practice soot fall and they're competent,
enough AND i think with made, playing biking ability will
elevate the guys. Alone you, KNOW i played off to
be much. Better uh you, know, uh such with Doctor
(54:27):
jennis calling, it you know we'd go along with Jet
mad's playing, ability playmaking. Ability excuse. Me then when it
also comes to the call him about The manton thing or,
WHATEVER i think That. Gonzo. Uh Eventually frona be like
the very best corner because because the corner he's he
has to package to benefit.
Speaker 10 (54:46):
HIM i like the other corners has telling me saying
a little bits and SAYING i want to touch on.
Speaker 14 (54:53):
A seams before things like, That, uh the the right by.
Selected uh REMEMBER i don't want to and they talk
about will be the problem right?
Speaker 1 (55:05):
Now, okay thanks To, sean.
Speaker 4 (55:11):
Can you get all that? Virtually?
Speaker 6 (55:14):
Not, well you got the little camel, part AND i
mean it's probably you know worth talking that that he
got beat a couple of times to the, Inside, uh
both in one on one drills as well as in team.
Drills and you, know to me it was obvious because
everyone talked about. It and how often do you you
watch it an offensive line and everybody sees exactly what
happened and what the problem. Was and to me like,
(55:34):
that he just has to improve on that. STUFF i
don't you, KNOW i don't know how you connect it
to if he had an extra, inch he wouldn't get
beat to the.
Speaker 4 (55:41):
Inside and we get into like always overset and all this.
Speaker 1 (55:43):
Stuff it's all about speed.
Speaker 4 (55:45):
There it. Is it's on. Tape it put it.
Speaker 6 (55:46):
Up you can't get beat like, that and THAT i
mean that is that's anes that gets your. Beat play, right,
like that's an s that gets you beat that he
that can't. Happen so if it, continues then you have a.
Problem but you, KNOW i don't want to go get too.
Crazy but it was so obvious to everybody watching how
cleanly he got beat to the. Inside so it's got
to be. Fixed AND i JUST i refuse to believe
that that's. Something they're, Like, nope that's just how it.
(56:07):
Is he Can't that's that's always how it's gonna. Be
he's never gonna be able to got to be.
Speaker 1 (56:10):
Fixed you, know you can't have. That but he's adjusting
to the speed right. Now it's it's all about. Speed
it's not like he doesn't have the ability to be
a good. Tackle he's getting beat because he's just not
getting to a spot quick.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
Enough, well he's getting but he's it's the same way
he's getting beat in. College like it depends on who you, ask,
right if you, ask like you, KNOW i took a
talk To Duke mannyweather who's worked with him all off.
Season duke will tell you it's it's, footwork, right it's,
footwork and like just body positioning and like where he
is opening his hips and and where his feet are
and things like. That The mays airs With Will campbell
(56:48):
will tell you it's arm. Length and the big thing
with the arm length is is that he has when
speed rushers are coming off the edge to, him he
needs to set aggressively out to them because he can't
reach to get, them so like he has to get
out there to get his hands on. Him and when
he does, that he's over.
Speaker 1 (57:05):
Compensated but looking when you see and before we go any,
further he's not getting beat on every, play but when
he does get, beat you really think one inch more
of an arm is going to make a. DIFFERENCE i
don't really.
Speaker 7 (57:19):
KNOW i.
Speaker 5 (57:22):
CAN i just offer something you're not it's not you're
not looking at it the right way at. All evan
just explained. IT i think perfectly if you are concerned
about your ability to, Reach you're. Cheating that's why he's
getting beat to the, inside say the. NAYSAYERS i don't
want to say what we're saying Because i'm Not Dante.
SCARNAKIA i do not break down the film at an
expert level to. Understand but what people are, considering and
(57:48):
this is what happened to him in, college is that
he knew that he didn't have the, reach so we
often would over commit with his set and get beat
to the.
Speaker 4 (57:57):
Inside that is About. Armlanfeng, YEAH i.
Speaker 1 (58:01):
DON'T i. Disagree, Okay, yeah that's.
Speaker 4 (58:03):
Fine i'm not telling you that it. IS i don't
Think i'm not qualified to tell you if it.
Speaker 1 (58:07):
Is, YEAH i don't think he's worried about his arm
like other people might. Be, okay BUT i don't.
Speaker 3 (58:11):
Think he said he is worried about. ARMLENGTH i just
think that that's the physical limitation that he's working. Against
that's my.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
Point but, honestly, again when you look at, it do
you think one inch would make a?
Speaker 4 (58:22):
Difference, YES i don't. Know, well can he can he
stop over setting like? That can that be the?
Speaker 1 (58:29):
Coach?
Speaker 3 (58:29):
Okay BUT i don't don't know if he, overseets then
the guy to the, outside he's not gonna be able
to get his hands on the. Guy so then the
guy is just going to go around his.
Speaker 6 (58:37):
Corner but the way you're describing it is like there's
no answer and this is just how it's always going to.
Speaker 4 (58:40):
Be we don't know. THAT i Think evan AND i
are very quick to say we don't know.
Speaker 14 (58:44):
That it's not.
Speaker 4 (58:45):
FIXABLE i think it's.
Speaker 6 (58:46):
Fixable but he's not going to grow, armlengths so he
either has to stop over setting OR i think it's
going to be an expressway through the.
Speaker 3 (58:56):
Want him to play, guard you. Know And i'm not
saying that that's. Me i'm saying naysayers BECAUSE i don't
agree with those people all the time about. It BUT
i think With Will, Campbell i'm With deuce LIKE i
would tell him he's got to be a little bit more,
patient like and the main thing is is like trust your.
Feet he has great, feet he's a really good. Athlete
he's really. Smooth so just take a, second like sit
(59:19):
back for just a half a second longer and react
to what the rusher is where he's going. Right, instead
instead he's trying to because he's got awesome grip, straight
so he's just trying to get his hands on the
guy and win the rep, immediately like just end it
and shut it. Down and because of, that he's getting
he's getting. Overextended and when he gets over, extended they
(59:39):
can't they go back.
Speaker 4 (59:40):
Inside so it means it sounds like it and this
is like a, habit like this is just something that they.
Speaker 9 (59:46):
Have it's.
Speaker 4 (59:46):
Not it's not a new habit that developed in the, internet,
Right and that's.
Speaker 1 (59:50):
Why they could get away with it in.
Speaker 5 (59:52):
College but that's WHY i think it's reckless to suggest
that it has nothing to do with, it that it's
not a mental thing with.
Speaker 4 (59:57):
Him he's been doing it since he was AT.
Speaker 5 (59:59):
Ls that was one of the red flags on, him
and that's why some people felt he was a guard
because they felt like he had to over, commit which
allowed him to be susceptible to that inside.
Speaker 1 (01:00:11):
Move.
Speaker 4 (01:00:11):
Yeah, YEAH i don't.
Speaker 5 (01:00:12):
Know if he doesn't over, commit if he can handle
the outside speed, rush we'll find.
Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
Out it's funny like because the first time that it's
really came up was yesterday Against Bradon, swinson who was
his teammate AT. Lsu so you, Know Brandon swinson's used
that same move Against Will campbell for the last three.
Years and so he got up and he got a
one on one against Against Will, campbell and what does he.
Do first thing he does goes to the inside. Move
so it's it's one of those vulnerabilities for. Him it's
(01:00:38):
something that that he's worked on all off season and
continues to work on. Now BUT i, also, like just
to be fair to, him his run blocking is.
Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
Excellent it was really, good like he's choosed it.
Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
In the run game and like dynamic like second level, blocks,
hooking front side, blocks down blox for caving into line
scrimmage Like Millan williams he got he folded them like a,
chair you, Know like he's doing those types of things
in the run. Game but the passpro needs work like.
That it's just an area of his game that needs.
Speaker 1 (01:01:08):

Speaker 8 (01:03:58):
YEAH i think just just keep. GOING i think just keep,
working keep building. Chemistry throws THAT i WISH i had,
back missed some, touchdowns you, know two practically go in
the red. Zone there's just that's what you're out here,
for you. KNOW i think you hurt myself on trying
to make those throws and make the easy, ones but
that that's what it's out, here timing and the guys
up front and battling their butts. Off it's a little
better against the. Defense were able to run the football
(01:04:18):
on a little bit and they're not just playing the.
Past SO i think we're coming, together you, know jeling,
nicely AND i, think you, know just keep. On you've
got a good look with our. Defense they have some
good players over, there so we're getting some great work
and we just gotta keep building into joint practices and
keep it.
Speaker 4 (01:04:29):
Going you're not supposed to you go, ahead do you
feeling work for?
Speaker 5 (01:04:35):
Corogression for yourself right.
Speaker 4 (01:04:36):
NOW i mean that's what you.
Speaker 8 (01:04:37):
HOPE i, think you, Know i'm trying to come from
this offense kind of take the next steps as as we,
go AND i, think you, know the real test will
be when the games comes and when we getting these joint.
Practices So i'm looking. Forward you, Know i'm proud of
work we've done AND i feel. GOOD i feel a good.
Spot but you, KNOW i think it's still a lot
of work.
Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
Left you, now baseball you're not supposed to talk.
Speaker 18 (01:04:55):
About, yeah the same thing applying guys going through six
practices of training.
Speaker 4 (01:05:02):
Camp and as a torn.
Speaker 8 (01:05:03):
Pick you, KNOW i think it's one of those things
Where i'm trying to take care of the football and
maybe they could have had a few here and. THERE
i think Pet make should have had one of the,
first you know. PRACTICE i joke am in him about,
it but, YEAH i think that's A i think that's
a goal of ursc of the. Football AND i, think you,
know not trying to LIKE i, said, yeah throw off
the perfect game or no, Hitter BUT i think that's
(01:05:23):
that's part of not scared to throw, them still not gun.
Speaker 18 (01:05:25):
Shy so that's what's interesting to watch is you're still
throwing it into two tight areas checked.
Speaker 14 (01:05:31):
Out after checked.
Speaker 18 (01:05:32):
Out do you feel as if you're an equal opportunity
quarterback at this point because you're still getting to learn
a lot of these players.
Speaker 8 (01:05:38):
TOO i think it's you, know it's easy to throw
the check down or you, know it's not, realistic you,
know moving them moving the football and getting big kind
of chunk, plays which is the plays you want in
games where you're not throwing the ball down the field
and throwing it tight. Windows AND i THINK i did
a little bit that in the, spring trying throw some
tighter windows and, uh you, KNOW i think just you,
know through a little more. Interceptions but that's what you're
out here, for you. Know you try to you know feel,
(01:05:59):
it kind of, feel, hey can this work or can
this work against these guys this. Level SO i try
to use it as that and kind of once as
they're closer to the, football time start playing some some
real hey take care of the football.
Speaker 3 (01:06:08):
Mindset Josh jobs was.
Speaker 7 (01:06:11):
Saying at the end of the day That josh McDaniels
is trying to take advantage of the quarterbacks all of your.
Speaker 5 (01:06:19):
Athleticism, yeah do you see a change in philosophy in.
Speaker 4 (01:06:23):
Terms of how much they may or may not want
you to run the.
Speaker 2 (01:06:27):
Football, YEAH i MEAN.
Speaker 8 (01:06:29):
I think it's it's an even balance of you, know
gain extra. Hat you, know were having the quarterback be
able to run the, football he's get extra. Number you,
know you're making eleven on eleven instead of ten on.
Eleven SO i think it's always a you, know it's
a useful AND i think at the end of the,
Day i'll make some plays kind of all schedule, anyway
but mixing in the quarterback run game is Something i'm open.
To AND i think it's always tough when a defense
(01:06:51):
has to cover that and keep that in. MIND i
think whatever they whatever they put me up, TO i
think it's you, know they do a good. Job and,
coaches you, know want Some Super, bowls you, know coaching the.
Offense So i'm kind of prayer for Whatever.
Speaker 19 (01:07:06):
Mike mike had, Mentioned, Minister i'm talking about the quarter
Cons LIKE i get you to these young players are,
fearless but there has to be you have to learn
how to protect. Yourself is That are they hammering that
point home to, you, like, hey we need you for Seventeen.
Speaker 14 (01:07:19):
YEAH i think that's.
Speaker 8 (01:07:20):
IMPORTANT i THINK I i faced that in. COLLEGE i
was my first. YEAR i was really kind of running
around and you, know doing some STUFF i probably shouldn't
have them out there with with pads. On SO i
think just taking care of my body and being, smart
but also you, know knowing when it's third, down when
you know near the end, zone Like i'm six five
and two hundred and thirty, pounds go go get.
Speaker 20 (01:07:38):
Something so the offensive, line how are you seeing that
come together after these you know first, take.
Speaker 4 (01:07:44):
Those guys are.
Speaker 8 (01:07:45):
BATTLING i think they're battling using different cades, is using different,
pros were changing mic, points like they're really getting a
good grasp of. It i'm proud of those guys up.
Front we got next you, know next man up. Mentality
some guys are getting banged up and some guys are
fighting through. Injuries so just par our. Position they don't
get enough love. Ever AND i think you, know the
coaching staff and what the off of the lineman, doing you,
KNOW i think they will be doing throughout the whole.
(01:08:05):
Season has being going to be Impressive, josh you know working.
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
With, him but where do you feel like he's been
able to help develop you the most especially going through
these first couple of days.
Speaker 4 (01:08:14):
Of a full pandem.
Speaker 8 (01:08:14):
Print, yeah just, uh just playing the. Position you, know
it's it's tough to coach a, position let alone play.
IT i think it's, uh you, know the big thing
is having somebody in that room who you know wants
to challenge, you wants to coach me. Hard and you're
talking McDaniels Or dobs. Coach, Yeah i'll talk about coach.
Anyway but, yeah that has been great in the room as.
Well but, Coach, YEAH i think he was done at
a high. Level he's been a head coach who've seen
(01:08:36):
a lot of different, stuff who's seen the kind of
evolution of the game of football in the past twenty
years coaching. It SO i think he's got a lot of.
Experience AND i Think i'm just trying to ask some
questions and pick his brain and try, to you, know
soak up EVERYTHING i.
Speaker 21 (01:08:47):
Can the, spring you talked a lot about added expectations
and you, know being a, leader do you feel like
the are who is still play in the right direction
here at this stage to.
Speaker 8 (01:08:55):
Kill you, know it's hard to just put expectations on,
it BUT i, think you, KNOW i like we're at
think we're practicing. Hard we're coming out here in these
walkthroughs and focusing and, details AND i think there's gonna
be times, where you, know there's there's DAYS i here
we didn't feel like we had goose practices we. Wanted
but right NOW i feel like we've got a, good you,
know head of steam. GOING i think we're gonna have
a scrimmage, tomorrow which will be fun splitting up the,
(01:09:17):
Team SO i, think, uh looking forward to, that AND i,
think you, KNOW i think it's really you find out
you're gonna have a chance every, week you, know to
go out there and prove. Yourself and, uh a lot
of these games come down to one. Score so just
what the details and the little things are about how
much of people.
Speaker 21 (01:09:30):
Working with Specifically stefan seems like already you guys have
a nice, wore.
Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
Especially down in The Red.
Speaker 21 (01:09:37):
Zille what does he do specifically well that you like
to see as far as getting open its, scoring.
Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
It's just a.
Speaker 4 (01:09:43):
Mindset it's attacking the.
Speaker 8 (01:09:44):
Football you, know a guy like, that you know his,
stature who's you, know got a lot of touchdowns in
this league and made a lot of big. Plays he
wants to go get the, football and he tells me
all the, time just you, know the balls in the
air is gonna be. Mine SO i think that's it's comforting,
here not from those, guys AND i think that's kind
of starting to become something in the receiver. Room that's the,
mindset you, know the balls in, there go get. It
SO i think, it's, uh it's comfortable hearing that it's
comfortable a guy who's also gone out there improved.
Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
It really makes a comment like, that do you already
have the confidence in him that when you throw the
ball up, there like he's gonna be able to catch? It,
like how are you going to build that connection that
you're gonna son that he's got?
Speaker 8 (01:10:14):
IT i mean it comes with me making a good
throw as. Well so that's, uh just trying to do
my part and let those, guys you, know they get,
paid you know a lot of. Money you, know you know,
Too so let those guys make their plays and just
kind of kind of comes off the you, know feeding
off each other of letting them do their part and you,
know kind of doing mind.
Speaker 10 (01:10:33):
Stuff is if he doesn't tell you what you want
here and tells.
Speaker 7 (01:10:35):
You what you need to.
Speaker 14 (01:10:36):
Hear, yeah have you had that kind of.
Speaker 8 (01:10:37):
EXPERIENCE i think that's. HUGE i think that's kind of
what we're trying to build around. HERE i think it starts,
with you, know the head coach of telling you what
you need to hear instead of what you want to.
HEAR i think that's that's that starts A it's a
good start to where we want to. Go AND i,
think you, know there's times where we need to love
somebody up a little, extra BUT i think it comes
down from the head coach and it's kind of you,
know top down.
Speaker 5 (01:11:00):
Like.
Speaker 4 (01:11:00):
STUFF a couple of issues with center quarterback in this. Change,
yeah what do you think is causing? Those and do
you think you guys are fixing it at this?
Speaker 7 (01:11:07):
Point?
Speaker 8 (01:11:08):
YEAH i MEAN i think you, know sometimes it gets
it's fall campus ninety five degrees out. Here you have
at the same, time you can't put the gall on the,
ground and some of it's little pre snap, uh you,
know be on the same. Page AND i think other than,
that it's my part to you, know get on there
and get the. Ball So i'm not it's not a big.
Issue and you, KNOW i think it's something that that
these guys have figured out they got a tough. Job
(01:11:30):
they got a not talking, football but they got you,
know a big three hundred and fifty pounds guy and
they're moving right and they're snapping it with the same
hand and then coming up to block. Them it's tough
part of them and it's uh just feeling stuff like.
That that's it's pretty cool seeing how that stuff works
out and how much that stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:11:45):
Changes SO u pre snap stuff is going just you,
know setting the protections and all that stuff at the.
Speaker 8 (01:11:52):
Time, yeah you will.
Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
HELP i did in.
Speaker 8 (01:11:53):
College you'll kind of send the. Line me and my
center we kind of sent the line where we wanted
and and changed it and uh will bit. That and
there's a little bit of that last year of getting
the protection. Right BUT i, think uh it's. Starting it's
it's started to come. ALONG i think it's it's nice
knowing you, know it's my job to send those guys
the right spot and you'll get them the same page
and get all those guys you, know all loving. Us
it starts with, me you, know on you, know uh
(01:12:15):
kind of route the huddle of getting the guys in
the right spot and getting the play. Started and it's
starting with a good. Huddle so it's Like i'm a
good spot AND i think those guys are are doing
a good job of listening to. Me and if it's
a look that we need to change, it they've done
a great.
Speaker 4 (01:12:27):
Job so thank, you. Guys and now great moments in.
History she's my lines are way off this. Week, YEAH
i JUST i. DON'T i don't believe.
Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
In do you get your lines From jimmy The?
Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
Barbers it's week too the spread AND i JUST i
just go to draft.
Speaker 3 (01:12:47):

Speaker 4 (01:12:49):
Paul so we go to.
Speaker 1 (01:12:51):
Draft no.
Speaker 3 (01:12:54):
Listening.
Speaker 5 (01:12:54):
DRAFT i mean they are are presenting sponsor for the
post game. Show SO i think that we can draft,
OUT i mean show a little of every. Week you,
MOCKING i can't go to you go to?
Speaker 3 (01:13:05):
Draft why don't you go to?
Speaker 1 (01:13:06):

perspective The Claire. Perspective how was? Camp talking to the, ye.
Speaker 7 (01:14:45):
It was.
Speaker 22 (01:14:45):
Great yesterday was. Practice there was a lot going. ON
i think the one thing is so much going on
though and not watching the ghost.
Speaker 20 (01:14:55):
Practice you kind of get in the atmosphere of The patriots.
Fans you've got the media as well if you want
to come and, say.
Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
Oh do some of the media that you.
Speaker 22 (01:15:02):
See so there's just so. Much and it was yesterday as,
well it was a bit more hard to.
Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
Concentrate it was.
Speaker 6 (01:15:10):
Cooler, Sorry, yeah, no you got kind of the spectrum
Of patriots. Camp you got a super, hot padded practice
and then today you got a cold walk.
Speaker 4 (01:15:17):
THROUGH i don't. KNOW i don't know if there's anything
in between. That that's the two.
Speaker 1 (01:15:20):
Extremes so from what you've heard about camp and seen and,
video was there any were you surprised by anything the
layout or how it, looked or was there anything different
than what you. Imagined i'll be, HONEST i.
Speaker 22 (01:15:34):
Didn't really picture.
Speaker 20 (01:15:35):
ANYTHING i kind of knew where the practice field was
from walking past when we came To jellett four, five
six years, ago SO i knew.
Speaker 1 (01:15:42):
It was this is.
Speaker 22 (01:15:43):
Separate but it's, yeah it's just. It deuce is.
Speaker 20 (01:15:47):
Right it is amazing to come as a. Fan if
if you're going to do, anything if you can do
anything like, that you. Should it's great that it's. Free
obviously there's always but there's also perks as, well if
you like see the ticket holders and stuff like, that
which is which is really. Cool but, yeah you get
sort of semi FaceTime with some of the. Players you
get them to sign. THINGS i got to Ask rabel a. Question, so,
(01:16:11):
Yeah rabel might remember me now BECAUSE i called him
Mister rabel coach.
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
Sir so he like any interaction with any tight.
Speaker 4 (01:16:25):
That you much preferred him as a tight end and a.
LINEBACKER i didn't have.
Speaker 20 (01:16:29):
CHANCE i did ask him who on the roster would
make the best tight end out of the linebackers at the,
moment and he kind of, SAID i don't want to
play favorites at the, moment so he.
Speaker 1 (01:16:39):
DIDN'T i pronounced. IT i emphasized the instead of tight,
ends they said. Tightens any interaction.
Speaker 7 (01:16:47):
With a.
Speaker 22 (01:16:49):
No, comment, okay all, right she's interacting with a couple right.
Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
Now, Okay so besides coming to, practice what have you
done while you've been? Here have you visited anything in the.
Speaker 20 (01:16:59):
AREA i really haven't Had champ it turned up like
for one. Reason yeah, Today, yeah complete labor not, yet
but it's on the.
Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
List, yeah that's one of my favorite. Place any restaurants not, Yet,
NO i haven't been here long.
Speaker 4 (01:17:14):
Enough have you been eating? Food i've had some food two.
DAYS i, know.
Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
Practice is two.
Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
HOURS i mean you.
Speaker 20 (01:17:21):
Know there was breakfast at the hotel on where are
We thursday to day, yesterday and then we went to
practice and then we had food in the hospitality BECAUSE
i had SOME vop.
Speaker 22 (01:17:29):
Passes for some big shout out To, andy thanks for THE.
Speaker 1 (01:17:32):
Vip it was.
Speaker 22 (01:17:34):
Awesome it was, awesome amazing.
Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
Yesterday so good.
Speaker 20 (01:17:37):
Yesterday so, yeah we are there and then kind of
crashed because of jet lag and it was so.
Speaker 22 (01:17:42):
Hot, yesterday so, yes it wasn't. It, yeah, okay, yeah you're.
Speaker 4 (01:17:46):
Crazy he LOVES i love it when it's like sixty
eight in the summer with a twenty hour. Winter, same
you love it when it's one hundred and. Five it was.
Awesome the last three that was heat.
Speaker 20 (01:18:02):
Stroke, yeah, yeah exactly. Perfect i'm a delicate pale flower
to cope with. It, yesterday SO i kind of crashed out.
Yesterday today was just.
Speaker 1 (01:18:11):
Well, today we've got more sun yesterday than you're. Doing, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
Everybody stepped on that.
Speaker 1 (01:18:17):
One all. Right so let's talk some, football because you
know the clear perspective you talk.
Speaker 22 (01:18:25):
Football, yeah and ice cream sometimes as.
Speaker 8 (01:18:28):
Well so tell us what.
Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
You're thinking about the wide receivers because we had a
lengthy conversation to start the show about how they're going
to handle the amount of receivers that they, have who,
stays who? Goes will they keep an extra? Receiver what
do you think about the current state of the wide
receivers with The?
Speaker 20 (01:18:46):
Patriots to be, FAIR i agree with What paul said
with the whole it's you're looking at, receivers not just wide.
Receivers so it really needs to be what's best for the.
Offense because of the offense he WAS i hate to
say so bad last, season but, okay because the offense
wasn't great last. Season it's it's really needs to be
about who the best players are and what the best fit,
(01:19:08):
is regardless of what the letters, are so to, speak did.
Speaker 6 (01:19:11):
Any of those guys stand out, yes straighter and practice
to you or did you find? Yourself what do when
you find your gravitating towards because you're, right, like there's
so much to.
Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
Watch hell of course.
Speaker 4 (01:19:21):
Non tight.
Speaker 3 (01:19:22):
End you were Just, HENRY i, mean is, Great it's
going to be. Good, yes it's gonna be somebody else.
Speaker 20 (01:19:32):
That's, Fair Oh, Bell, yeah more BECAUSE i didn't necessarily
see him as, much but more because he came over
was really nice to. Me WHEN i told him THAT
i was all the way From. England he thought it was,
brilliant and he signed my football and My titans rule, sign.
Speaker 22 (01:19:53):
My football and my Sign you're.
Speaker 4 (01:19:55):
Gonna go back. Loaded you got you got all the
all the. Stuff but that's WHAT i.
Speaker 6 (01:20:00):
Like, LIKE i, mean because we all sometimes you watch practice,
together it's sometimes we, don't and then we congregate and
we compare, notes AND i, MEAN i think that's WHAT
i like about it is you, know sometimes we'll see
something that the other guy doesn't see or you, know so,
yeah you just kind of have fun and that's, like all,
right Well i'm gonna watch WHAT i.
Speaker 4 (01:20:14):
Want but that was, it though Tight. Ends you didn't
like No Kyle wyne catches or. Anything Just hunter And
henry was a Little Austin hober too.
Speaker 6 (01:20:20):
Well and then they signed like two Tight ends last.
Night so did you think that was because of your?
Speaker 4 (01:20:23):
Arrival so?
Speaker 1 (01:20:25):
Clear how do you have a clear perspective if all
you're focused on is Tight?
Speaker 20 (01:20:29):
Ends, well to be, FAIR i did actually watch the
rest and there was you, know there was some good.
Places BUT i saw ft and chish and.
Speaker 22 (01:20:35):
Runs around a. Lot saw his.
Speaker 20 (01:20:38):
NUMBER i mean he's quite, small well from a distance,
anyway it was quite relatively and he was, yeah well,
yeah relatively, speaking everybody's huge Because i'm only, like, yes,
so but, yeah saw him running around a. Lot, now
whether that was just the context of WHAT i was
watching at the time and the whole grand scheme of,
things he wasn't as, much but, yeah saw he's jersey flashing.
Speaker 22 (01:20:58):
Around so that was that was. Interesting what did you.
Speaker 1 (01:21:01):
Think Of Drake may in? Person he's.
Speaker 22 (01:21:04):
Cool, YEAH i didn't get to see him much when
you watched.
Speaker 20 (01:21:07):
Him, yeah he was oh, yeah oh, yeah definitely has
that presence AND i was excited as soon as he was,
drafted to be honest with, You so it's it's.
Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
Just all all.
Speaker 1 (01:21:18):
Right so you know we're going to get into the.
Show if you have something to, say chime right. In
if you disagree with SOMETHING i want to.
Speaker 5 (01:21:27):
Hear ESPECIALLY i WAS i was going to suggest if
you could to get into an argument with, me that
would be part of the. Show.
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
Yeah we talked To chism after practice today and Uh
Dan roach of course because It's. Dan roach Asked chism if, he,
uh you, know the smile is just permanently On chism's,
face to which he, said, yes it is Because i'm
playing in THE. Nfl AND i thought that was kind of.
Cool you, know, rookie this FIRST nfl training camp and,
(01:21:56):
uh you, know obviously he's compete for a roster spot
and he knows. That but at the end of the,
day like it is pretty freaking cool like that he
gets to be in THEE i.
Speaker 4 (01:22:08):
Think that's a refreshing perspective in.
Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
All, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:22:12):
You mentioned after, Practice Drake may had a press conference
which we just showed. Here what did you think about
what he had to say today because you were, There.
Speaker 4 (01:22:21):
YES i.
Speaker 3 (01:22:21):
WAS i thought that it was. Interesting WHAT i look
about his perspective is that he always says that he
kind of gives the iverson like we're talking about practice
and like his real litmus tester the, games the joint.
Practices he mentioned the next couple of, weeks you, know
he said that he likes to think that they're headed
in the right, direction but until they get into games
(01:22:43):
like scenarios where they're joint, practices preseason, whatever you really
don't know one hundred if you're going in the right
direction until you hit that. Part SO i thought that
was like, good sort of you, know we ride the
roller coaster of good, day bad, day good, day bad,
day and to, him it's kind of just, like, well
we're hoping we're in the right, direction like we feel
good about where we, are but we'll. See and then
(01:23:05):
he was asked a couple of questions about running and
like how they're managing that and how they're scheming, that and,
he you, know said that he agreed with sort of
the premise that it's on him to keep himself healthy
and to keep himself in. Games but he also said
he's sixty, five two hundred and thirty, pounds and when
he's by the goal, line if he sees an opening
(01:23:26):
and it's third down and he's ready to run it.
Speaker 5 (01:23:30):
In the only one that gets a skied by, That,
yes you. Are i'm not suggesting we never run. Him
i'm not doing that part of. It BUT i don't
like when he talks about how big he is and
when he gets the other goal line he's looking to
plow guys.
Speaker 3 (01:23:43):
OVER i don't know if he necessarily meant plow guys.
OVER i think he just, meant if it opens up
and the opportunity presents, itself he ain't. Afraid, well if
it opens, up.
Speaker 5 (01:23:53):
You don't need to be two hundred and thirty five,
pounds you know What i'm, saying run in which he
DID i think once last.
Speaker 3 (01:23:58):
Year, yes it's in the, preseason, okay but, YEAH I
i like those. Answers paul. Doesn't that's.
Speaker 4 (01:24:05):
OKAY i just want to keep them. Healthy is that
asking too?
Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
MUCH i want to win football? GAMES i do. Too
he has to risk it for the biscuit a little.
Speaker 4 (01:24:12):
Bit then when they get to the point where.
Speaker 5 (01:24:17):
They're playing in really important games and it's make or
break by all, means lower the shoulder and do what
you need to do to get the. Win but you,
know dancing down the sideline in the first quarter of
a game against The chargers when you're like two and
twelve is not one of those.
Speaker 3 (01:24:32):
Times to, me fair, enough that's. FAIR i don't think he.
Was he was talking, about, like you, know we're down
inside the. Red, yeah fourth and.
Speaker 4 (01:24:42):
Goal gotta have it some game by all, means you,
know third and goal in the second. Quarter it's just
NOT i got to have it play to me LIKE i.
DON'T i want to make. SURE i want to make
sure we preserve, him even Though I'm i'm A Joshua allen,
fan AND i still just when he does some Of
you're like you're, Crazy like don't blower your. SHOULDER i
(01:25:02):
think he's.
Speaker 5 (01:25:03):
Crazy but this whole season would end if one of
those hits goes the wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:25:07):
Way if five five past five hundred is the. Hotline
let's go To jared In. California what's, Up, Jared, jared what's?
Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
Up?
Speaker 4 (01:25:16):
Guys he went to Join Hey.
Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
Jared LAST i went to the first week of training.
Camp incredible. EXPERIENCE i loved. It it really looked like
the new coaching staff had of graph and everything was
running pretty. Efficient my card question, is how would you
contrast this training tamp with the new regime compared to old?
Regimes And i'm taking off the.
Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
Air, okay, Thanks. JARED i mean old regime meaning last.
YEAR i mean it's it's it's very. SIMILAR i mean
in terms of how it's. Organized it's the. Same you,
know you have you have your sessions and you break
it up and you go on to, team you go
to seven on seven eleven. Eleven you, know all that's the,
same just, say the competitive LEVEL i think is a
(01:26:04):
little bit. BETTER i THINK i THINK i can see more, competition.
Certainly And, evan you mentioned this this. Morning you were
on one Of paul's shows this, morning and you had
an excellent hit. Today by the, way you mentioned you mentioned.
It you mentioned it today that this, year you, know one,
(01:26:28):
day the offense is, better one day the defense is.
Better last, year offense was rarely winning the. Day you,
know it's a little bit more even this year in
terms of who's winning even within a certain. PRACTICE i
think that that's probably a better.
Speaker 4 (01:26:43):
Thing that has nothing to do with the structure Of.
Speaker 5 (01:26:47):
No, no, no it.
Speaker 1 (01:26:48):
Doesn't it.
Speaker 4 (01:26:48):
Doesn't BUT i have a Couple.
Speaker 6 (01:26:52):
Paul AND i always joked and it became almost a
joke with how much time they spent in the red
zone With Bill, belichick AND i, mean it was, like you,
KNOW i don't remember last year if it was the
BUT i specially remember With bill And. Mack it was
like every day you were in the red zone every,
day and they did periods over the last few days
in the red. Zone but it's obvious to me the
progression of how they're stacking this all. Together you, know
it's all, right first we're going to be high red,
(01:27:14):
zone that we're gonna be with a low red zone
now today we're going to be in the middle of the.
Field now we're going to add in third. Downs it
just it's easier to decipher exactly how they're installing everything to,
me whereas With bill was like every like they're in
the red zone, Again like it would seem like every
day they were stressing.
Speaker 1 (01:27:27):
That, brady you knew you were going to be in
the red.
Speaker 5 (01:27:29):
Zone last, YEAR i would say one of the big,
DIFFERENCES i felt like it took a long time to
get into practice on a routine. BASIS i felt like
the walm up period was like forty five, Minutes AND
i think they're much quicker into practice what they actually
do in practice for all Three, Belichick, mayo And, VERABLE
i agree With.
Speaker 4 (01:27:49):
FRED i think they're very.
Speaker 5 (01:27:50):
SIMILAR i think the end of The belichick regime kind
of had a little bit less of this competition stuff
that you're talking, about AND i think people criticize that
that seem to be a little bit, Easier BUT i
didn't think that last year With mayo had to be.
Speaker 1 (01:28:06):
The first five minutes of the practice was dealing With Matt.
Judon that was like baked into the into the. Rundown
this is period, one period, one deal With now we.
Speaker 4 (01:28:17):
Can be like my. Shows one other thing, too is
just like we haven't seen the. Host the host hasn't come.
Speaker 5 (01:28:23):
Out for the you know when they get all the
agree With the progression of practice is generally very. Similar
it's Like fred, said it's you, know individual it's position,
drills it's seven on, seven it's team periods and roughly
the same.
Speaker 4 (01:28:37):
Amount Now mike is.
Speaker 5 (01:28:40):
Right belichick used to always start with the red, zone
And mike has sort of worked his way to the red.
Zone AND i think they're probably getting the same amount
of reps in the red. Zone it's just going to
come in different times of.
Speaker 3 (01:28:53):
Practice, yeah like we're talking about like that's like organizing.
Practice WHAT i was talking about on the radio this
morning was like some DAYS i come out of practice
And i'm, LIKE i don't really know who.
Speaker 4 (01:29:02):
Won like it was kind of like this was like
it was pretty to, me is, different AND i agree with.
Speaker 5 (01:29:07):
You last year there was one or two days where we're, like,
oh the offense actually punched back. Today, yeah but most
days it was the defense just, dominating, right and then you,
know guys are right about back and.
Speaker 4 (01:29:16):
Forth this year WHEN.
Speaker 3 (01:29:17):
I said this morning was like it was always is
the defense actually that? Good or is the offense actually this?
Bad and how do we judge the defense against this?
Offense and like you had that whole mind game that
you were sort of playing with yourself of how what
does all this really? Mean whereas this, YEAR i feel
like it is more of like an iron sharpening iron
type of situation hopefully at. Least but in terms of
(01:29:39):
the structure, PRACTICE i just have noticed different, Drills like
there's there's different drills for, sure the different stretch different
they've been, doing like different drills with the offensive and
defensive lines where they're like doing these like grappling drills
where they're not actually moving but they just are kind
of hand fighting with each other and you know that
sort of. Thing and THEN i just call it in my,
(01:30:00):
day we call it inside six where it's just like
six blockers against like THE d line and the linebacker
level and there's no secondary and there's no. Receivers and
they've been doing a lot of. That but it's like
one half of the line and it's like one half
of the defense and then like the other half on
the Other and they actually have mixed in like run and,
pass WHICH i think is really. Interesting like and usually
(01:30:21):
withinside sex it's all. Run it's just a run. Period
but in this, day like mix in the pass every
once in a while just to throw it, off you, know.
Speaker 4 (01:30:29):
Just to Get jay And polk a. Touch there's no.
Speaker 3 (01:30:32):
Receivers he walked in right behind us off the.
Speaker 4 (01:30:35):
Field where was? That then there's no.
Speaker 1 (01:30:36):
Receiver the other THING i would. Say the other THING
i would SAY i would notice Is i'm just you,
know more than, one more than one player has, inferred
if not out and outset it that they see a
noticeable difference in the coaching players that were here.
Speaker 3 (01:30:53):
Last corrections and things like. That, YEAH i think, that you,
Know i'm sure that's. Happening you can see that With rabel,
though like with some of the drill that they're doing
on the on the line of, scrimmage like that's that's
his Flot like you can tell that that's his, stamp,
Right like he wants to be a physical football. Team
he wants to be fundamentally sound up. Front they were
so sloppy up front the last couple of, years AND
(01:31:15):
i JUST i don't see, that, like, yeah guys get.
Beat guys are gonna get, beat you, know over the
course of multiple, practices but you just don't see a
lot of like the fundamentals just totally embrace.
Speaker 1 (01:31:25):
Many stops and. Stars.
Speaker 6 (01:31:27):
Yeah, Yeah it's interesting BECAUSE i feel Like bill And
mike both have similar philosophies of want and create a tough,
team but they kind of go about it different. Ways
it's you, know different, personnel different schemes and even just you,
KNOW i mean both hopping into drills a little, Bit
mike more Than, bill but you, know just more than
one way to skin a. Cat and, clearly to, Me,
mike we're able putting his stamp all over this, team
(01:31:49):
and that's that's a really good.
Speaker 4 (01:31:50):
THING i think they'll reflect his.
Speaker 1 (01:31:51):
Toughness H Lindon georgia writes In she says she had
to write in even THOUGH i have no true football comments,
today thanks for having a very special yes. Today walk
through today was, enjoyable especially seeing the returning team members
Of hollands And. Davis great analysis of all Things patriots as,
usual so she just wanted to.
Speaker 6 (01:32:13):
Like where's your, crew where's all your where's Like shutters
and And tom and all these guys that you know
support you and you should be calling in and, NO
i guess.
Speaker 4 (01:32:21):
Not, Well claire's been very nice because you, know.
Speaker 6 (01:32:23):
BEFORE i worked, HERE i wrote a blog Called Past
propaganda and it just kind of went, dead and her
And tom have you, know continued to keep it alive
and put some posts.
Speaker 4 (01:32:32):
Up SO i appreciate that it lives, on but he lives.
Speaker 1 (01:32:35):
On and you gave them the keys to the.
Speaker 3 (01:32:36):
CASTLE i gave him the keys of the.
Speaker 6 (01:32:37):
CASTLE i just you, know keep it. Running and they
put up all the posts and. Everything ALTHOUGH i did
post one of our one.
Speaker 4 (01:32:42):
Of our preview videos on.
Speaker 6 (01:32:43):
THERE i was, like, HEY i was just making sure
the site was all run, Around, like, HEY i Think
i'll put up our our preview, camp you, know our
training camp preview that we.
Speaker 1 (01:32:49):
Did so have you started the?
Speaker 6 (01:32:52):
BEST a good, question, FRIEND i MEAN i noticed two
days ago was the first Time brable was in his
standard blue vest with the red.
Speaker 4 (01:33:02):
Sleeves he had just a windbreaker. On so maybe like
me WHEN i wore pants yesterday and everyone had a
comment for. Me maybe it was washed. ODAY i, mean,
now maybe that's why you were so ungodly.
Speaker 3 (01:33:11):
HIGH i mean that was a crazy move.
Speaker 4 (01:33:15):
As soon as you watch, it are mine? Today how
and THEN i wore long sleeves. TODAY i thought you
didn't mind being well. TODAY i could see the long
sleeves because it's like. Cold it's not cool to.
Speaker 1 (01:33:24):
Hear curtis And Saint louis writes in with the health
questions at the outside cornerback, position would you like to
see The patriots add some? Depth call it a plan
or managing him or. Whatever the fact that we've only
Seen davis one day this offseason training, camp on top
of That gonzo's hamstring, SITUATION i have some. CONCERNS i
(01:33:45):
would love to see them bringing a guy Like gilmour
or maybe A. Sante samuel just wanted your.
Speaker 4 (01:33:50):
Thoughts he's talking About junior.
Speaker 1 (01:33:53):
There. Yeah, Second, evan it's your. Call from everything you've
seen to this, point where would you Put Jared wilson
on THIS o line left?
Speaker 4 (01:34:02):
Guard you?
Speaker 3 (01:34:03):
Would, Yeah I've i've had reservations about him playing center
as a rookie for a. WHILE i JUST i.
Speaker 5 (01:34:10):
Would need to know more information about his mental abilities
BECAUSE i have the same reservations That evan's talking. About
but if they were okay with that part of, IT
i would rather have him at center because.
Speaker 3 (01:34:20):
It's not just but it's like not just the impact
that he, has it's across the, board its impact it
has on. Him it is the impact it has On,
drake like in the offense as a, whole you, know
and LIKE i A drake at his press conference today
about the pre snap stuff because he's he's in control,
now like The josh McDaniels that runs through the, quarterback
but the center still has input and the center still
(01:34:41):
makes calls certain, calls you, know, uh four, down three,
down like he calls out the. Front how is it?
Speaker 1 (01:34:48):
Odd is it?
Speaker 3 (01:34:48):
Even? Uh and Then drake takes that information and then
he sets the mic and YadA, YadA yo down.
Speaker 6 (01:34:55):
CORRECT i totally hear What paul sand though in a
perfect more important, position perfect, world him And drake and
we just pulled the band aid off and let them
take some lumps. Together but then you have that.
Speaker 4 (01:35:05):
Stabilized and this is the DUDE i totally.
Speaker 5 (01:35:07):
Get AND i Get evans's point of. View if he's
not ready for, THAT i don't WANT i don't want
to put you, like what if his game falls apart
right right and now you're you, know you're potentially damaging him,
too like by playing him too quickly if he's not
ready for the mental side of, it which you know
is a mild concerned With Will campbell with the stuff
that we talked about before the break about what was
(01:35:27):
it a mental? Thing is that why he's over?
Speaker 4 (01:35:29):
Setting you?
Speaker 5 (01:35:31):
Know is he constantly worrying about you, know or's just
kind of Habit and it's Not he's not worried about
being fast, enough because by all, accounts he's one of
the most athletic left tackles that's come out of the
draft in a.
Speaker 3 (01:35:41):
WHILE i think it's like it's almost all of play
sports like a feel, Thing like you just feel yourself
losing the edge right like and you just can't help,
it and you just. Can, Guy it's like one of
those things where like you, know you just kind of
like it's not even like you're purposely trying to do.
It it's just like it comes Over you're, like, oh,
oh he's likechallenge me out, here and then all of a, sudden,
(01:36:02):
YEAH i.
Speaker 1 (01:36:02):
Don't, know like we're all you, know Pseudo Dante scarneki
is talking about, this but.
Speaker 3 (01:36:08):
CORRECT i.
Speaker 1 (01:36:10):
Like SOMETIMES i look at it and engage, quicker, like
don't back up so?
Speaker 3 (01:36:16):
Deep, WELL i think that's what he's, doing, though is
he's trying to come out and get his hands.
Speaker 1 (01:36:21):
OFF i don't not on. PASS i don't see. THAT
i see him on back, pedaling, backpedaling and the first
point of contact is like three yards.
Speaker 3 (01:36:29):
Deep when he gets bet on the ins like yesterday
Against swinson and one on ones he tried to come
out and two hand punch him and he got over
extended And swinston.
Speaker 1 (01:36:38):
JUST i keep working on, That, YEAH i keep working on.
Speaker 3 (01:36:40):
That that's that's where he's going to have to strike that.
Speaker 1 (01:36:43):
Balance, Ye mars In connecticut on the. Hotline what's, Up?
Speaker 10 (01:36:47):
Mark, hey guys were doing?
Speaker 7 (01:36:50):
TODAY i.
Speaker 1 (01:36:55):
Got a good one for.
Speaker 7 (01:36:56):
YOU i don't believe That bulk And baker have A
john making the. Roster so what my plan, is is
there any trade? Possibility is there any value in these two?
Speaker 1 (01:37:08):
PLAYERS i think you package them up for a first. Two,
No i'm only Kidd i'm only Kidding. Mark, NO i
don't think there is much trade value there, NO i didn't.
Speaker 7 (01:37:19):
Think so when are you guys going to be at
the in uh in the stadium practice to, Morning.
Speaker 1 (01:37:23):
We'll be there, yeah five twelve, Okay, mark.
Speaker 4 (01:37:28):
Thanks i'm not going around the, stands not a meet And.
Speaker 1 (01:37:32):
Greek oh, yes you don't go around the.
Speaker 4 (01:37:35):
RIM i hide in the press boxing right as much
AS i. Can, well practice is going, on SO i
can go home when it's.
Speaker 1 (01:37:42):
Over afterwards you go down the field that when people
what's going on and what do you do when you're?
Speaker 3 (01:37:48):
Done make when you're Doing no one gets more shoutouts
Than deuce at training, CAMP.
Speaker 4 (01:37:55):
I will tell, you is a, legitimate legitimate.
Speaker 3 (01:38:00):
Celebrity when we did the pre practice, thing went to, Salt.
Speaker 1 (01:38:06):
I'm waiting for A t.
Speaker 5 (01:38:07):
SHIRT i always feel that's very honored that WHEN i wander,
around people just give me the cat calls And i'm,
like you, know people know, me except for When i'm
walking back from all access during training camp With Mike,
greece THEN i might as well not even be, there
my GRE i might as well not even be.
Speaker 4 (01:38:24):
There it's, like, oh That's mike and that other guy
in his own with single person on the planet.
Speaker 6 (01:38:30):
Knows, yeah, yeah that's they should should you know what's
gonna fun tomorrow And paul is figuring out who's on
the blue team and who's on the white.
Speaker 4 (01:38:37):
Team, OH i can't wait for the.
Speaker 3 (01:38:38):
Tweets it sounds, like you, Know drake said it today
in his press, conference like they're. Expecting he, said we're
going to split the teams up and we're going to.
Speaker 5 (01:38:47):
Scrimmage and basically what they've, done and That bill used
to you, know you'd have to identify which offensive guys
are wearing, blue.
Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
Right but they but he made it Build it wasn't,
Competitive LIKE i don't think it's. Gonaive wasn't. Competitive they're
saying it's a.
Speaker 6 (01:39:04):
Scrimmage, well but, seriously, though isn't there just a small
part of your brain that thinks Like frable's just crazy
enough to have some overly physical.
Speaker 4 (01:39:11):
Practices, well it's a small.
Speaker 5 (01:39:14):
Problem i'll tell you guys THAT i didn't see this
coming Because bill called it.
Speaker 4 (01:39:19):
A scrimmage every. Year, no he didn't that market is
going to say scrimmage every. Year it was never. COMPETITIVE
i don't expect it to be AND i don't expect
to be much different than what we've. Seen why is,
that BECAUSE i just don't think it makes a lot of,
sense especially after three padded days, earlier in that continuation
(01:39:40):
of what you've.
Speaker 1 (01:39:41):
Seen, YEAH i would say if if this is overly,
physical it would be counter to what he's been doing
and what players say he's been. Doing like he is
cognizant of our health right, Now he's not going to
beat us up this. Early but at some point you've
got to get ready for tackle, football you. Know but
it's never been during this in stadium that they do.
Speaker 5 (01:40:00):
That so and if they're if there are, guys you,
know like there are guys catching passes across the middle
and safeties are lower in the, boom Then i'll, say.
Speaker 4 (01:40:08):
Hey bill never did. That that's knocking guys.
Speaker 5 (01:40:11):
OUT i don't think they'll be. TACKLING i don't think
they'll Be they'll be hitting on the line like we've.
Speaker 1 (01:40:15):
Seen, YEAH i don't think we want to see that right.
Now you don't want to see open. Field we.
Speaker 3 (01:40:19):
Did we did see that last year with had them
tackling to the ground in, practice and it was like
it was eye.
Speaker 4 (01:40:25):
Opening, yeah it.
Speaker 3 (01:40:26):
Was that's a good way to describe. It, YEAH i.
Speaker 5 (01:40:29):
Was And bill has had full padded practices and, that
and he's had practices when they're in the.
Speaker 4 (01:40:33):
Shell, well, yeah the.
Speaker 1 (01:40:34):
Shells, yeah even with the full padded they.
Speaker 4 (01:40:37):
Don't, NOW i still think it's all just for, you
the only. One the pomp and circumstance of the, game.
Speaker 5 (01:40:43):
And you, know this is where we go and then
this is how It, WELL i think that's a big
part of what they do is the whole game. Operation you,
know you want to get a play clock, going you
want to have you, know defensive.
Speaker 4 (01:40:55):
Stuff them coming from the. Sideline you don't want to
make sure that the right personnel groups on that is it.
Is it's like a big part of.
Speaker 3 (01:41:01):
IT i know it sounds silly because these guys are
professional football, players but you, know coming from the sideline
and the signals in the in the play calls coming
from the sideline on the headset like that is different
than what it is at.
Speaker 5 (01:41:11):
Practice so it would be another one who's calling the
plays for the blue. Team McDaniels is calling the offense
for the white, Team todd Down Thomas, brown but Experienceator.
Speaker 1 (01:41:26):
David And bethlehem writs and please comment On Todd downing
being an improvement Over tyler Hughes, In Taekwan, underwood, McDaniels
And downing seem a potent. Combo first blush ten and
seven in.
Speaker 6 (01:41:37):
Playoffs, well he's just an experienced coach who's been an
offensive coordinator. Before AND i mean that was TYLERHES i think. First,
yeah time he had AN nfl. Receiver room came from
college a brief time, Here so it's JUST i want
to see what it looks like BEFORE i just deemed it.
Better i'm crazy like.
Speaker 3 (01:41:54):
THAT i STILL i still wish that they had hired
a like skill, coach like a wide, receiver former wide,
receiver like A Wes welker type or something like, that
that is a guy that played the position that LIKE
i Think Todd downing conceptually can teach and can coach
the offense like this is your route, depth this is your,
(01:42:15):
release this is where you're supposed to. Be this is
the Concept like you, know this is what this guy's
doing next to. You but like who's who's Taking Kyle
williams to the side and like coaching him up on
the top of the route or his release or you,
know something like like those real like details like the
minutia of playing the. Position you, Know Todd downing has
also never done it before at that's. Position so at
(01:42:38):
the risk.
Speaker 22 (01:42:38):
Of Rolling paul, Up i'm going to Say i'm going
with the ten and seven.
Speaker 1 (01:42:40):
Though, OKAY i think there's a lot of.
Speaker 5 (01:42:43):
People a lot of people will tell you that's. Low
i've heard eleven twelve. Wins i've heard.
Speaker 3 (01:42:49):
Only one person said twelve.
Speaker 4 (01:42:51):
WINS i just hate those, Predictions.
Speaker 1 (01:42:55):
Steven ireland writes In Great, camp so far they've given
me optimism of the coming, season without the over the
top we're going to the Super bowl feeling that other
shows will give you and Not paul. SHOWS i don't,
sup But i'm my massive fan of.
Speaker 4 (01:43:09):
PAULS i have not heard any Super Bowl just you
wait a question for.
Speaker 1 (01:43:13):
Today after seeing Mac hollins go right into the top
receiver group, today is there any feeling that he is
there to kind of Mentor booty and the other young
guys mainly in a watch and learned kind of way
for the, season and also keep what was a messy
group last year working with a high professional standard through each.
Week and then that also Gives diggs more of a
chance to rehab and be the top receiver without having
(01:43:35):
to worry about the. OTHERS i don't Think hollins or
Boot digs are worried about the.
Speaker 3 (01:43:40):
OTHERS i think that's exactly Why hollins is. Here is
what the emailers said to mentor to. Babysit. Yeah, REALLY
i think he's been known as a as a guy
that it's a pretty good locker room, guy good.
Speaker 1 (01:43:52):
Character oh okay, that but he's not out there coaching
other players.
Speaker 3 (01:43:55):
Coaching, no BUT i think that he's there to and
hold for.
Speaker 4 (01:43:58):
Sure, no that's setting.
Speaker 6 (01:43:59):
EXAMPLE i would say that's the biggest thing for me
With diggs is just watch and, learn, guys this is
what this is what it's supposed to look.
Speaker 5 (01:44:05):
Like and evidently that's been a positive process because all
the other receivers are talking about.
Speaker 4 (01:44:09):
How good he's been to.
Speaker 6 (01:44:11):
THEM i just point out to like almost every Day
digs goes in signs. Too SO i KNOW i was
hard on him when he was a member of The
bills and kicking our, butt but, like, YEAH i love
WHAT i love What i've seen on the field off
the field so. Far you, know we had a little
hicke up earlier this, year but otherwise that's behind him
and they all come.
Speaker 4 (01:44:26):
Around so LATER i, know, well just.
Speaker 3 (01:44:28):
Like a little story about mc. Collins Uh soft And
chisholm was talking after. PRACTICE i mentioned that and uh
he said that mac collins asked him for a ride
home one, day WHICH i think is. Hilarious like he
doesn't have cover shoes so he didn't, walk so so
he asked mccollins Asked chisholm for a ride, home And
Fton chishm said, sure of, course they're driving home and
mc collins, said, OH i Like i'm. Going you. Know
(01:44:50):
chisten said what you were what are you? Doing what
are you doing after? This and mac collins, said, Oh
i'm going and going to study the playbook and ft chism,
SECOND i come with, you and he, said, yeah sure
we can do it. Together and then so now after
every day mccollins And Efton chisholm are watching film, together
studying the, playbook preparing for the next day, together doing
(01:45:13):
all these types of. THINGS i think that's exactly why
mac collins is, here is to do that kind of
stuff and play special teams and run.
Speaker 4 (01:45:20):
Block.
Speaker 1 (01:45:21):
Yeah, yeah he needs to get on the, field jump.
Speaker 4 (01:45:24):
Balls he is on the.
Speaker 20 (01:45:25):
Field now he's back but didn't digcite sorry on his
FIRST i think it was his very first. Presser the
tone of what he was, saying BECAUSE i can't remember
it word for, word was that he's setting an example
sort of thing for the younger guys to come.
Speaker 22 (01:45:41):
IN i, MEAN i know it was like months and months.
Speaker 4 (01:45:42):
Ago, now well he's playing like it for.
Speaker 6 (01:45:44):
SURE i, mean everything you've seen of, him AND i
just to me at the bottom line is watch him
play like, that jumps, out watching him run, routes catch the, ball.
Speaker 4 (01:45:53):
Turn it up, field show a little. Speed and you're
telling me this guy is still. Recovery do you.
Speaker 1 (01:45:57):
Think it's kept him from being you, know and every
redown Receiver.
Speaker 4 (01:46:01):
Matt, Collins, yeah oh. Uh was he with The raiders,
THOUGH i MEAN i.
Speaker 6 (01:46:06):
DON'T i mean when we saw The, raiders it was those.
Three it was him And adams And Hunter renfro AND
i really was impressed with. Him AND i remember looking
on my phone and being, like how's this guy kind
of bumped around because he's got good.
Speaker 4 (01:46:16):
Size he's tearing The patriots up right?
Speaker 3 (01:46:18):
Now you?
Speaker 5 (01:46:19):
Know it was it just he stood out to, Me
AM i saying with him THAT i can't figure, out
AND i don't know how good he is, technically you,
know quote unquote how. Good but everybody talks About Matt
collins the Way evan, described you, know how good he's
been to teammates and positive presence in the locker.
Speaker 4 (01:46:37):
Room yet he's been on a million. Teams yeah, right
and that's usually a red flight for there's a lot
of like one year stops because he's a.
Speaker 3 (01:46:43):
Nomad you can't you can't cage mccollins.
Speaker 5 (01:46:47):
Like this is like not a LIKE i think he's
overrated as a leader or as a. TEAMMATE i don't
think that at. All i'm wondering why a guy with
that reputation has been on five.
Speaker 3 (01:46:58):
Teams, yeah so he played a ninety three percent of
the snaps With, vegas With josh And.
Speaker 4 (01:47:03):
Vegas he wasn't every down player and.
Speaker 3 (01:47:05):
Things, yeah last year with The, bills it was sixty
six percent of the. Snaps well that's not that.
Speaker 4 (01:47:10):
BAD i would have got. It so last year with
The bill, down they also had absolutely no. Receivers, yeah,
yeah they got rid Of diggs and started all. Over
so he probably had to mentor.
Speaker 5 (01:47:20):
People, yeah now they feel Like shakir is at a
different level and they probably didn't.
Speaker 4 (01:47:25):
Special you know what ELSE i wonder ev is he
seems like special Team no, no.
Speaker 6 (01:47:29):
Uh he seems like the perfect guy to do what
we've been talking so much about THE x And josh
at McDaniel's, offense where you're really just kind of running
goes or comebacks and there's not you, know when the
ball's probably not going to you a. Lot and he
seems to have that perfect personality to be that guy, who,
Yeah i'm happy to be the guy who takes the
top off the defense and maybe makes a contest to
catch downfield or you, know occasionally gets behind the. Defense
(01:47:51):
so maybe that's part of it, too is he's well
equipped to kind of do What josh is gonna.
Speaker 3 (01:47:55):
Ask he's SACRIFICIAL x and, yeah SACRIFICIAL. X how was
how does he crack the end to you, know like
he's a good run, blocker AND i think that's a
big part of his game as. Well you, know he's
the guy like at receiver that you can like use
as like a weapon in the run, Game like you
can have him block you, know different body types and
(01:48:18):
things like that that like you can move him around
and take him from different angles and stuff that allow.
Speaker 4 (01:48:25):
WEAPONS i.
Speaker 1 (01:48:27):
Heard the weapon in the run.
Speaker 3 (01:48:29):
Game it's one dimensional.
Speaker 6 (01:48:31):
WEAPON i JUST i think you add it all up
and you see why he's, here and we'll see if
he goes back to that. ROLE i think that's what
everybody's perked up for. Now is he going to Push
booty for for significant playing time or is you, know
we're going to be a spot, receiver which and special teams,
guy which is WHAT i think we thought he'd be
all off.
Speaker 4 (01:48:49):
Season, okay.
Speaker 1 (01:48:53):
Let's see lots of, emails not a phone calls, Too
so let's get to the phone. Calls what do we?
Who i'm looking at the line up?
Speaker 4 (01:49:01):
Here who's From Order?
Speaker 1 (01:49:03):
Lost Johnny todd's In North? Carolina Hey, Todd Todd Tad
hey Get?
Speaker 7 (01:49:08):
Thanks, okay. Thanks SO i think you guys came to
a conclusion That may is going to be what drives
this season and his progress and his. Maturity i'm still
worried about the, line not so much the, tackles BUT
i really don't Like bridberry at the. CENTER i went
(01:49:30):
watching him with the film last, year and at times
he's a turnstile when the passing. Protection he just doesn't
seem to he's snapping the, ball he should be able
to act, immediately and he seems like. Slow have you
guys seen that at? All and what you've been watching
the training? Camp and who could we reused to replace
in this strange a possibility? Still or is that shift?
(01:49:52):
Sailed thank? G all?
Speaker 9 (01:49:54):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:49:54):
Thanks so Was Ben? Brown?
Speaker 3 (01:49:56):
YEAH i Think Ben brown's kicking. Around SO I bradberry's
issue his play Straight like he's just not a particularly
strong or big, center and so in pass, protection especially
like against bigger nose, tackles he can get bullied a little,
bit you, know just go backwards and put it.
Speaker 1 (01:50:12):
Politely but having said, that the season does depend On
Drake may.
Speaker 6 (01:50:17):
It, DOES i, Mean and then that's the extreme, example
AND i hate comparisons to, him but his ability to
get the ball out quick and read the defense and
nowhere to go with it right after the snap The
josh McDaniels thing helped mitigate some of the ups and
downs they had along their offensive. Line, again that's an extreme.
Connection but at the same, time If drake continues to
progress and gets the ball out, fast AND i mean
(01:50:39):
he said it, himself that was the biggest. TAKEAWAY i
think it was also AN nfl network yesterday When josh
Shows Tom brady's, film and it was the same thing
WHEN pauli AND i sat with. Him WHAT i came
away most to me is was was that he knew
exactly what he was doing after the snap, before you,
know he could process. EVERYTHING i mean Even tom said
it himself that he would look at The chiefs defense
and be, like, YEAH i know exactly what they're every.
(01:51:00):
Time so If drake can get to that, level some
of these concerns that we have about some of the
offensive line or some of the weapons like that.
Speaker 1 (01:51:06):
Stuff it's not all good if the offensive line isn't,
good but it'll he can make it.
Speaker 4 (01:51:13):
Better, yeah he can at least help and avoid some of.
Speaker 6 (01:51:15):
Them if the line is really good And Drake may, isn't,
well he's he's he knows when they're going to send.
Speaker 4 (01:51:22):
PRESSURE i don't think that's going to.
Speaker 1 (01:51:23):
Happen by the, Way i'm just, SAYING i still put
the hopes of the season On Drake.
Speaker 20 (01:51:28):
May CAN i push back and, say, well wouldn't you
maybe put it On RABEL i would understand what you're
saying About Drake. May, yes he's pivotal but it feels
like Now rabel's in the, building everything feels.
Speaker 1 (01:51:39):
Maybe BUT i think he has made things. Better where
do you fall on The brady Versus belichick? Debate you
better fall on the right. Side going to get no?
Speaker 22 (01:51:52):
Comment, Okay, no to be, fair it's it, was it's
a tandem. One they have to be.
Speaker 20 (01:51:59):
Together it's a lightning stroke and they were both there
at the right, time and it and it Created that's
a great.
Speaker 3 (01:52:05):
Answer no hit, me good, ANSWER a terrible.
Speaker 4 (01:52:08):
Answer one of those guys won a Super bowl without the.
Speaker 22 (01:52:11):
Other, yeah, well completely honestly. True he also has Well, Listen.
Speaker 1 (01:52:16):
I've always said behind each of them made the other. Better,
yeah this is BUT i think THAT i Think. Brady
IF i had to start a team, TODAY i would
start With brady.
Speaker 5 (01:52:29):
The.
Speaker 1 (01:52:29):
Player he's the, player and that's why you Mentioned Vrabel
absolutely important change the, culture, positive, Positive but it's the.
PLAYERS i Think bill would.
Speaker 3 (01:52:40):
AGREE i know you probably don't think he, would But
bill would definitely not.
Speaker 4 (01:52:44):
AGREE i don't think he would say the right.
Speaker 3 (01:52:46):
Thing, no we. Wouldn't you don't think that If bill
it was if someone said To, bill would you like
rather yourself Or? Brady he would say me.
Speaker 4 (01:52:54):
Would start the team with, no he would think.
Speaker 3 (01:52:56):
ME i, WOULD i, mean might not say. That but
if you said, so all of the players win the.
Game stuff is all lip. Service for twenty five, years
we just.
Speaker 1 (01:53:05):
Go by his.
Speaker 4 (01:53:06):
Act how many times have we said, this don't go
by go by what he. Does?
Speaker 20 (01:53:10):
Yeah SEE i can throw something more inflammatory because you
say About brady and one of the things THAT i
think particularly sort of the second half of his, career
BECAUSE i know you split it up into, two is
the ground. Connection there was a big deal in the
success of the, offense and he took that To. Tampa,
now Whilst i'm not saying that Like gronk Replaced bill
and that's why they won A Super bowl and things.
Speaker 22 (01:53:30):
Like, that but it isn't just the summer of one.
Speaker 5 (01:53:33):
Part, YEAH i wouldn't suggest that they only won a
Super bowl because Of, brady ALTHOUGH i would say it
was ninety five percent of.
Speaker 18 (01:53:40):
It but.
Speaker 5 (01:53:43):
If you ask me if it's about a great coach
with a bad quarterback or a bad coach with a great,
Quarterback i'll take the ladder every single.
Speaker 22 (01:53:52):
Time, YEAH i can see.
Speaker 3 (01:53:53):
THAT i, MEAN i see, WHY i, MEAN i know
what you think Of Zach, Taylor ZACK i was gonna Go. Tony,
honestly she was.
Speaker 4 (01:54:01):
A pretty Good Zach. Taylor he he did With Sean
king to THE Nfc championship, game For god's, sakes that's.
Good Sean king couldn't.
Speaker 9 (01:54:13):
Play.
Speaker 6 (01:54:14):
No part of the problem with, Argument paul is that
he's done all these five hundred. Times, no What you've
also done all of, Them and so you Started claire
out with just Like i'm gonna start off with level, One,
paul you just gave. HER i can't give player, no, no,
NO i, know but that's but you were JUST i,
can but can't. You but see what's happened to me
Is i've been on this show. Longer is that when you,
(01:54:36):
know every DAY i start talking football with my dad
and he started or when best was WHEN i went
away with all my college buddies and they start laying
into me about their thoughts on The, patriots and ALL
i could think about is just Like i've Had i've
had these arguments a hundred different, times And i'm, like
you don't like.
Speaker 3 (01:54:50):
That, No it's Like i'm, trying like this is my time.
Off LIKE i.
Speaker 5 (01:54:54):
Figured he would like put Like awn, no you, know
he's Like brando at the, Opening evan will see.
Speaker 4 (01:55:03):
You this is WHAT i.
Speaker 1 (01:55:04):
Do this is WHAT i.
Speaker 3 (01:55:05):
DO i walk into like a holiday AND i say twenty,
minutes this is. It and then when we're, done we're.
Done And i'm not doing this AND.
Speaker 23 (01:55:15):
I HAVE i know you said twenty BECAUSE i questions
like no one just please because THE a on the
back side of ball soup, peace just.
Speaker 4 (01:55:29):
Come, in come.
Speaker 5 (01:55:30):
In you don't like when you are out with like, friends,
FAMILY i shut it. Down so, NO i think we
all would like, to BUT i, do you, KNOW i
just LIKE i don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:55:41):
That.
Speaker 5 (01:55:41):
Yeah my favorite part of What evan's talking about is
the people that sort of recognize that you really don't
want to talk about and they're, LIKE i know you
talk about this stuff all the, time.
Speaker 4 (01:55:50):
But then they doesn't stop them from going to a
ten Minute and that's why all the things they.
Speaker 6 (01:55:55):
Think with my college, BUDDIES i just started throwing some
little level one perilla with, them like you did you
know just well you know what about you.
Speaker 4 (01:56:01):
Know, this like you, know oh, yeah how many?
Speaker 1 (01:56:04):
Levels that's a good.
Speaker 4 (01:56:04):
Point there's.
Speaker 3 (01:56:08):
He's like an, onion what's like level, five level?
Speaker 9 (01:56:11):
Ten.
Speaker 4 (01:56:11):
Parillo oh, man that's a.
Speaker 3 (01:56:13):
Lookout i've only seen level Ten parillo like once or.
Twice it hasn't been a level ten levels, REALLY i
can think of one, time but all The Joe milton.
Speaker 4 (01:56:28):
That was about as heated AS i get on this.
Speaker 12 (01:56:30):
Show but that is funny because when you're the. Rational
they had to get rid of. Him why because it
was a Problem drake may thank, you bite no. Further
he was just a problem For, drake.
Speaker 3 (01:56:43):
You, know for defenses.
Speaker 4 (01:56:44):
Too my, god you will not even admit that that
was why they got rid of.
Speaker 1 (01:56:49):
Him, no it. Wasn't it was level because he and
his agent were a pain in the. Ass you're not
who you think you. Are see you, Later.
Speaker 5 (01:56:59):
OKAY i would suggest you do a little bit more.
Research i'm not guessing on, this.
Speaker 1 (01:57:03):
Okay the, way all, RIGHT i, know all, right we're
gonna do real quick because we're running to the Show White. Ground,
yeah real.
Speaker 9 (01:57:11):
Quick.
Speaker 1 (01:57:11):
Shows, eldred what's?
Speaker 4 (01:57:12):

Speaker 1 (01:57:15):

Speaker 9 (01:57:16):

Speaker 10 (01:57:46):
Great coach with no player.
Speaker 11 (01:57:50):

Speaker 10 (01:57:50):
Playbook, oh you gonna be a great coat book player
and you wear a Super bowl and the great player to.

Thing everybody is going crazy about the ten and seven
and eleven.
Speaker 6 (01:58:21):
Wins that's.
Speaker 10 (01:58:22):
CRAZY i think realistically the team's gonna go nine and.
Eight About, paul he was kind.
Speaker 14 (01:58:29):
Of you, know being negative, fancy BUT i, think like he.
Speaker 7 (01:58:33):
Said maybe work they get six, wins BUT i think realistically.
Speaker 1 (01:58:38):
Eight, okay that's. Fair Thanks.
Speaker 4 (01:58:42):
DANNY i could see.
Speaker 1 (01:58:43):
THAT i, said, SEE i, said floor, six ceialing. TEN i.
Speaker 3 (01:58:46):
Win if they go nine and, Eight i'm.
Speaker 5 (01:58:47):
Happy i'd Be i'd be happy with nine and a,
Too But i'm not. NEGATIVE i think they could go
nine and. Eight christian In New, york what's Up?
Speaker 1 (01:58:54):

Speaker 4 (01:58:56):
You Claire, Claire, Hi Christian.
Speaker 7 (01:59:03):
New.
Speaker 10 (01:59:03):

Speaker 22 (01:59:09):
That, no it's just what they do it's.
Speaker 4 (01:59:14):
Fine it's.
Speaker 22 (01:59:14):
Cool, no it's.
Speaker 1 (01:59:15):
Cool It's.
Speaker 22 (01:59:15):
Christian it's nice to be recognized In New, York.
Speaker 5 (01:59:20):
New.
Speaker 10 (01:59:20):
York i'm In New. York, unfortunately defendited my. Dad we
have to put him in a nerdy. Home.
Speaker 4 (01:59:25):
Ho i'm, Sorry. Christian the end of the it's going to.
Speaker 10 (01:59:34):
Happen several of you guys have been, there right the
first time you see your dad like mall and. Weak
it's a real like transformative, thing you.
Speaker 1 (01:59:43):
Know UNFORTUNATELY i never got that. Chance but, anyway all,
Right Christian.
Speaker 2 (01:59:48):
Football What i've noticed is our guild players and even
some of our offensive linemen seem to be.
Speaker 10 (01:59:54):
Undersigned is that like a trend in the? League or
are we just like under By?
Speaker 9 (02:00:00):
Tea, Yeah i'll.
Speaker 10 (02:00:02):
Take Up eric to see you. Guys, Okay, claire keep
coming back and on the state.
Speaker 4 (02:00:07):
Guys oh yeah for, sure. Thanks, Thanks will you in
like handle?
Speaker 1 (02:00:11):
GUYS a trend for? Lineman, NO i haven't thought about.
Speaker 3 (02:00:14):
That, YEAH i mean, Underside Like campbell's arms are a little,
short but he's six, six three hundred and thirty. Pounds
that wouldn't call that.
Speaker 4 (02:00:20):
UNDERSIZED i really think their offensive line is underside.
Speaker 3 (02:00:23):
When cold strange wasn't the biggest guy, Now Colt strange,
undersized And Jared wilson's built more like a center than
a guard in terms of his. Size maybe he's.
