Speaker 1 (00:11):
The world's a virginal podcasts. Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
The hysteria that's going on, Paul shows and otherwise it's
everybody right now is in a funk.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
The five stages of a Patriots loss, Yes, right, so
you'll be angry and the immediate aftermath that the team
didn't play well and you sort of address it. Then
you immediately just blash out at the media for being
upset about the.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
First the first stage of stages of a loss.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
First stage is denial and yeah I left out the
referees car So that's the first stage. When you do
the break, you're at home, right, what are you wearing?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Are you in you're underwear? Are you new?

Speaker 5 (00:53):
Like?

Speaker 1 (00:53):
How do you do it?

Speaker 6 (00:55):
What?

Speaker 1 (00:58):
I don't know? Actually, Miami's of the worst.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I agreed they I wanted the worst offense.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yep. The press box and the food is the worst.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Press box not great. I've never noticed really anything out
of the ordinary about the food. But I agree with
you guys on the location of the press box, and
like the whole setup is not ideal.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Now let's go to our friend Christian in La so
he's not there on himself this time.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
That's his best call ever.

Speaker 7 (01:24):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
This is Patriots Unfiltered.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
dot Com.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Wednesday here
at Jillette Stadium.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Let's turn the page day and we're.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
All gonna be talking about the Miami Dolphins and why
I think this is a guaranteed win for the New
Land Patriots. I don't know if everyone's going to agree
with me, but I'm gonna go out on the limit
declare that right off the bat. So I'm going to
ruin tomorrow's picks by saying that today. But that's okay.
There's a lot of other games.

Speaker 6 (01:59):
He pounded table for that. Is that a table pounding situation?

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah, I'm going to pound the table.

Speaker 7 (02:03):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
It's Deuce.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
It's Evan, who'll be here until about twelve fifty five
or so when he's going to go to Mike Rabel's
press conference, which we will carry live on the show.
It's Paul, It's Matt and Alex in the booth and
uh so what do we got, guys? We got to
practice today that Evan and Deuce will be going out too.

Speaker 6 (02:24):
I'm not going out, but you're not going out.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
I'll go to locker Are you boycotting now? I'm going
to go to the locker room. He usually comes on Fridays.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
On Fridays, that's what you do, Fred, I get I
hype the.

Speaker 6 (02:34):
Boys up a little bit, yes, but maybe some murmurs
of Christian Gonzalez perhaps being out of practice about cryptic
social media posts.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
So stay tuned.

Speaker 6 (02:42):
I guess we won't be able to stay tuned because
practice loben after the show, so we won't know.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
But maybe we'll see him getting ready.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I am sure, sorry to cut you off. I'm sure
that Mike Rable will be asked about it, and he
has been pretty open.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Yeah about it. That's a good point. He's going to
be out, he'll say it.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah, So I'm sure I wouldn't be surprised if Karen
asks him first quest and his Christian there. And I'm
with Deuce. I think that there are maybe some t
leaves DJ James getting released as well.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
That let's talk to Paul about his theory. Because I
Paul came in firing and this is fire this morning.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Speculat was no fire.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
He was. He broke down the special team.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
It was a special it was a special teams have
no fire and whatsoever.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
He saw a roster deficiency on his special teams at
the gunner position.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
And he's and he no, But I.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Said the same thing. Oh, DJ James cornerback to making room.
But Paul had a good theory that might be more
special team might have more.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
To do with Charles Woods than anything else. Charles Woods
is the cornerback that was claimed off with waivers.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Right after Chucky Trees?

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Is that what Chuckie Trees?

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Can?

Speaker 4 (03:45):
I have way too much time on my hands parent Anyway,
He's been considered, uh, you know, kind of a core
for special teams guy, a gunner type. DJ James was
the gunner in the first game. I don't think the
special teams were great. I think Charles Woods, I think
he had a concussion. Rabel sort of indicated late in
the week doubtful that he was going to play in

(04:07):
the first Maybe he's ready to go now. I think
the DJ James thing is Woods is back and he's
gonna none of this is related to me to Gonzales's
potential to be on the practice field today.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
I agree with everything that you guys said.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
About his social media thing the team. I mean, let's
face it, no or later, he's going to be back
at practice and why not today?

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Why not? Right?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah, No, it's a good theory about the DJ James
with the special team. I know they called up Corey
Ballentine from the practice squad.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
That might have something to do with, yeah, sort of
changing the depth chart.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
So they did that as an elevation on Saturday, and
he's had a lot of experience on special teams and
as a gunner specifically as well. But Springer last week
was pretty open about the fact that they have Schooler
and then they're not really sure on the other side
in terms of gunners. Obviously jayvon Baker was a big
part of that during the preseason, and then he is

(05:00):
no longer here, so it's been a spot of uncertainty
just even who's going to play there, Like we'll let
alone the performance and.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
I don't want to step on your boy boss tost yes,
but you know it goes back to Marcellus Dial.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
He's like twitching right now. Somewhere that we're talking about this.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Yeah, it goes back to Marcellus Dials injury in the
in the preseason him when training.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Can very good gunnarned specialty, he was.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Probably going to be in that spot. So they've been
searching for a replacement.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
But I do think.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Woods probably gets that spot on game day that he
was inactive last week. The rest, in other words, the
first corner on the depth chart isn't really affected by
the fifth or sixth corner on the depth chart, So
like you got to figure out who's going to be
active on game day. That's why I looked at DJ

(05:47):
James and Woods and Baalentine is more related than Christian Gonzales.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Well, we all know now the secrets are out for
the Patriots because Cole Strange has been signed with the
Dolphins and he's he's going to be giving it all
the secrets away right Well, and Judon.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
So you have, yeah, two weeks in a row you
have to do.

Speaker 7 (06:06):
And the.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Few former Patriots from the Dolphins, I think Jake Bailey
is still there as well. Joe Cardona is there a
long snapper?

Speaker 6 (06:17):
Can I need a whiny Patriots fan for a second,
And can I put on my whiny hat?

Speaker 1 (06:21):
You mean I keep it on. I don't want to lose.

Speaker 6 (06:25):
I don't want to lose to a team that has
a a guy who represents just the horribleness of the
drafts of the past few years in Cole Strange, and
also a guy in Matthew Judon who was like, for
a long time, the only beacon of light that this
team had in some of the dark days of twenty
two to twenty three. I mean, he was the team
and so not only him, but then you have Bill Peppers.

(06:47):
It's just again, I know I'm being a whiny Patriots
fan right now, just like I don't want to lose
the guys that used to be on our team, but
I don't want to lose the guys who used to
be on our team. And it just is gonna bug
me if I have to look at freaking Cole st
Range and Matthew Judon high fiving, and forget Jack Jack
Jones too, who I know is going to be trying
to jump routes.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
All this is thrown out, we will CoA Strange play.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
No, I don't think I just saw g RD. I
think retweeted, Yeah, there there there's Jones.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
They got right side of Yes, the reporter, Jonathan Jones,
not the It's got another reason for Mike to be
a whiney Patriots fan.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
We just read this tweet on catch twenty two.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Cheon Smith is in line to start at right guard
in place of James Daniels who's on I R and
Larry Boram. Boram will start at right tackle with Austin
Jackson and so two injuries on their offensive line of
week one, A minimum of three injuries to cornerbacks before this,
you know, before the season and in week one. So

(07:48):
you think you got it bad, Yeah, it could be worse.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
I mean if there was a time for the Patriots
to break the seven and oh to a mark against.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
You, this is the week, right. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
So Borham's a veteran swing tackle that that isn't a
complete bad player, stiff, I don't know what you want
to call it. Yeah, he's not a bum Keansman's young player.
I think he might even be a rookie. And he's
played a little tackle, played a little guard, kind of
like a Caden Wallace type where you're not really sure

(08:19):
exactly what you have in him yet. But Borum on
the right side versus Harold Landry should be a matchup
in the patriots favor. And if you're the Patriots, don't
you have to put Milton Williams right over the right
guard and test him as well. So I would expect
them to have an advantage on both those guys.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (08:38):
I would just say I think that there's going to
be an extreme either way whatever the result is. If
the Patriots will go down and lose to this Miami
Dolphins team based on the reaction to how they played
against the Colts, that.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
People are gonna be apoplectic.

Speaker 6 (08:49):
But if the Patriots win and Drake May is the
one to break the two occurse to win for the
first time down there since.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Twenty nineteen, people will be like we arrived.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
So I don't think there's going to be any middle
ground unless the game unfolds like you know, like thirty
six thirty five or something crazy like that, where it's
back and forth, And.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Unless the game unfolds and it's three.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Nothing sign that yeah, no, that's what I mean, six
thirty five.

Speaker 6 (09:12):
In that case, maybe there'll be a middle ground of well,
I can take some silver linings. We scored some points,
but if it's you know, your standard fare of a
twenty something to team something or low twenties to look.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I just think either way it's extreme. But I think
if it's like.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
Three nothing, six nothing and the Patriots win, it's not
gonna be Drake May's coming out.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Yeah, well that'll be a weird that, you know, I
mean that, and that that would be a weird one.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
There's definitely some room left for a weird result, which
I don't really expect. The three nothing win or a
thirty six thirty five possible. You know, Paul always says,
we gotta wait to see the games, tell me how
it looks. Can't just save the result. But generally speaking,
there's gonna be no middle ground next week. I feel
like win or loss, there's it's either gonna be all
over and we we're never getting gonna beat the Dolphins
and Tuoa owns us and you're never getting past the Dolphins, or.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Drake's Drake's arrived everybody, he.

Speaker 6 (10:00):
Beat two in Miami, and you know, the truth will
be actually somewhere in the middle. But next week will
be either really fun or really not fun.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Yeah, we talked about this a little bit off the
area yesterday. But that game last week from Miami was
like the game from hell who had turned it over
three times and like in quick succession early on in
the game, and they just kind of had an awful game.
And it's week one. Those tend to be fluky. Those
tend to be kind of one off performances a lot
of the time. And if I'm the Patriots, like, I'm

(10:26):
not going into this game thinking, you know, Miami's in disarray,
like you know, like that that's that might not happen
again this time around. And the only thing I would
like Paul's point about all the injuries is a fair one.
I but like all this talk about like McDaniel's downfall
and they're you know, they have all this unrest and
all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
I wouldn't put a ton of stock into that one
game and say that that's indicative that the whole thing
is falling apart and we can't.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
We can't do that.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
I mean, it's unfair because if you're not going to
do it with the Patriots like we've been preaching, you
can't do.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
With we can.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
But I understand what Evans point is that the team
goes into this game, this week of preparation, thinking, Okay,
we got we had a wounded animal, we got the
team on the run. They're quitting on their coach. They
you know, we just have to knock him in the
mouth and and you know they'll quit for us. That's
not the good that's not a good.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Knives set to have.

Speaker 7 (11:19):
Now.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
I think a lot of that is true. I think
that the Dolphins are really sort of on the precipice
of yeah, packing but you can't go but as the team,
as the Patriots, Evans one hundred percent right, you can't
you go into it thinking you're gonna get the worst
for him.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
I have to go in the mindset with this guy.
We've never beaten him. Yeah, We've had seven tries, we've
had seven swings at it, and we've missed every time.

Speaker 6 (11:42):
Yeah, this franchise hasn't won down here since last decade.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
And it is and it is week two. So even
if there's some.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
Question, you know, on the minds of a lot of
the Dolphins veterans, it's a little early in the season
to just assume they're going to roll over.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
I just think the result last week makes everybody think
Dolphins teams Timber, right, But I look at the recent
history of the Patriots against the Dolphins is more indicative
of what you're going up against in Miami than the
thirty three to eight last week against the Colts, because
when you turned on the tape of their offense, especially
like they still got a ton of speed, like they

(12:19):
still got a ton of weapons. You know, Hill and
Waddle and Han are still a big problem. And I
just I don't think that that's necessarily what they put
together last week. I think is their worst game, Like
that is as bad as it could possibly.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Conversely, if you're a Dolphins fan, you're looking at this
game as all right, it's a Patriots get right, Yeah,
you know.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 6 (12:42):
I actually hopped in I Ditle film grinding last night
of on the Dolphins, and you know, just looking to
see was it something the Colts did. Colts played eighty
percent zone, They really only rushed four or five. They
didn't have great pressure. They talked a lot about taking
Away to his first read, which certainly, you know, the
first interception, you could maybe say, I mean actually the

(13:03):
first time, but I thought he just kind of skied it,
just kind of bad throw. But the takeaway I took
was that they were just off. This was one of
those games where it just wasn't clicking and they got
into an immediate hole. It completely changed the dynamic of
the game. And to his demeanor after the game was
one of kind of confidence, like he was just saying
like that's how he kind of reacted of this was
a one off.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Will be better than this?

Speaker 6 (13:24):
Of course you have everything hanging over them, of is
this the end of this regime? Is you know our
guy is going to fight? And I think Paul's got
a great point there of can the Patriots have a
good start in Miami and encourage them to stop playing.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
A little bit.

Speaker 6 (13:38):
But I'm expecting a much better to and somebody that
the Patriots are going to have to figure out, you know,
how to get him to go through progressions and how
to take what so. I think most focused more on
the coverage than necessarily the pass rush.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
If the pass rush for the.

Speaker 6 (13:52):
Patriots still can get going with four guys, that all
bets are off.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
What's the early weather report.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
I think it's supposed to be mild in terms of
what South Florida this time of year, like I saw
like high eighties which is still hot, but it's not.
I don't think it's going to be one hundred and ten,
you know, like it has been sometimes in the past
where it can really push one hundred degrees down there.
But you're taking away the middle of the field from
tua Is is really all the name of the game,
and I think that's what the Colts did, think Xavian

(14:18):
Howard Actually yeah, I said, like the old teammates just
had to flood the middle of the field, and we
know that that's you know where he likes to throw.
You the first pick that you talked about that he's
sailed like he loves to anticipate those windows, and so
he was trying to throw a slant second window and
it just kind of got away from him and he
just threw it to the deep safety instead of the receiver.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
Was that the cam buying them one? I did that?

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (14:42):
That was He's been working on that for a while.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
It was a good little move. My back hurt just
watching him do that celebration.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Uh, yeah, you gotta take it down the field.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
I don't have the break for that.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Plants, crossers, digs, you know, not celebrations. You do that
on your own time.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
I just I love that when Fred just looks at
You're like, no, I have no. Did it happen in
the Patriots game?

Speaker 1 (15:05):
No, I have no.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Was so reveling over that seventh inning for the Yankees
last night.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Did you happen to see what happened? Oh my god?
It was to to.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Going into the sixth or seventh and uh Detroit scored.
At the end of the inning. It was eleven to
the Yankees. They just couldn't get anybody out. It was
one walk after another wild pitch.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
It was, it was.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
It was so good to watch, so good to watch.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
Your your guy had another young kid come up and
pitched the gym.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Yeah, eleven strikeouts from five innings.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Yeah, was this guy.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
I never even heard of the guy until like two
days ago.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Now early yeah, yeah, things are looking good for the
home baseball team.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
I do think it's funny when Paul brings up like
the celebrations and stuff like you don't see that on
the tape, that's a TV copy thing. So when he said,
like it was that the cam bind, the one where
he's no idea you threw it to the deep same thing.
That's all I know.

Speaker 6 (16:10):
You know, you're not totally the same, but I find
it because we especially a lot of games, we watch
them up in the press box, that so much. A
lot of the narratives that come from the games are
what the announcers say, and we don't hear that. So
sometimes they point things out and people are just all
talking about it as fact and we didn't hear it,
so we don't know. Sometimes you have, you know, we
watch it on the away games on TV. You have
a little bit of a different perspective slightly.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
I totally agree with that, now, yeah, har but you
hear what.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
He said in the second quarter and Spiro Adidas, you know, no,
I didn't.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
You know, we're watching the game from the press box,
not on TV sometimes, you know, obviously the road games
are different, but that happens a lot.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Yeah, I noticed that, Like emails will come in referring
to things like where did you get that from?

Speaker 1 (16:51):
And they get it from the bro.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
And the broadcasts a lot of times get it from
the production meetings and they carry it into the game.
So yep, that's a good point.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
All right.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
So how are we feeling about about the Patriots? I
was watching one of Paul's TV shows last this was
the Tom current Talk Tom Currents Patriots Talk show with
he and Phil show. I'm not really on those this one,
and they were talking about a report out there how

(17:25):
Chicago during the draft was making fun.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Of I saw this story yesterday.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
The story was if you haven't read it, Tied Dune
from Along wrote it and it is kind of crazy
now it's clearly from a certain point of view. But anyways, sorry,
I wish.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
I wish the Patriots are playing Chicago. Yeah so, but
it was interesting.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
But then the rebut that they came up with is like, okay,
Chicago didn't like them, but the Vikings were willing to
give a whole bunch of form as well as the Giants.
And you know, Chicago hasn't really done well drafting quarterback
no of late.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
You know, so who do you want to side with?
The Vikings of the Giants or.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
The well I be honest with you, I don't really
care that much that a team. You know, there's different guys.
You know, it's two then the eye of the beholder,
you know, to each his own. I I the fact
that Chicago hasn't had success or had success, wouldn't you
know it's one team? They didn't really like him. I

(18:29):
think that the whole kind of with Evan, Like the
whole tenor of the story was kind of but it
wasn't we're gonna we're gonna mock him and we're gonna
like have this salacious like behind the scenes like it
was snickering among them.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Oh no, it was very thorough and I'm not.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Sure because it was great reporting, but I don't remember
reading a story that was that detailed about some of
the things that were going on behind the scenes in
terms of bashing a young player. Yeah, I mean like
talking about his cadence and preparation and how they couldn't
get a They wanted to buy a VR system like

(19:05):
we have and like the Commanders have, but they didn't
do it because they didn't think he would use it,
so they thought it was going to be a waste
of money, you know, like just stuff like that that
was really like damning of Caleb Williams that you just
don't often really hear get out on that level.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
You know.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
They were saying that he would like had like a
high school level cadence.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
So you're talking about Williams now, yeah, oh okay.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Yeah, And they were saying that his cadence was so
basic that the defense was just teeing off on the
line of scrimmage because it was just literally like you know,
set hut or something like that, and it was just
the same every single time, and he never changed up
his cadence. And I thought it was interesting because I
was watching the Monday night game and he changed up

(19:50):
his cadence a ton and actually caught them a couple
of times jumping off side with his cadence. So I
wonder if like he even read the story and was like, oh,
you don't think I you know, I can do it.
You'll watch this type of thing.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
I went on to that time jokes on you.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Right, it was a really interesting story, but they did
not like Drake that that's true.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Yeah, I would have liked to know that. Last year
when I beat the Bears. Yeah, it's one of the
few tea did he play great in that game?

Speaker 4 (20:18):
Call was his worst game? I know, seriously, I know.
The ironic card is it's his one win as a
starter that we actually went you know, start to finish
and won the game.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
But it was that had twelve worst side of the ball. Yeah, okay,
I know.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Bdard had him graded out. It is his worst game anyway.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
That's back announce is that the Rivalries gear went on
sale today in the Patriots Pro Shop and on Fanatics,
So you can buy your Rivalry Sideline gear chester that
we didn't last time when we had our little fashion show,

(20:57):
we didn't show the polo.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
We didn't have the polo.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
Here's the polo that is going to be available. And
of course you know the jersey that people can buy.
This is the new Rivalries jersey that Patriots will be wearing.
What's the dates.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Yeah, the Jets game.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Shot November I think.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Yeah, So all that stuff, all that Sideline gear in
the jerseys are now on sale on Fanatics.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (21:29):
I mean Alex walked over to the Pro shop. She
bought that windbreaker that she had on last time. And
they also what I thought was cool, they had the helmets.
They have many helmets of the new helmet. They all
said the big helmets of that new helmet. So helmet
people they have that as well.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
You collect helmets.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
So that's that just went on sale today, So get
it while it's hot because it's probably going to sell out.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
Now.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
They're a pretty good crowd in there.

Speaker 7 (21:51):
Already.

Speaker 6 (21:51):
It's a little spread out, so you can you can
do some exploring and you'll find various pieces of.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
I can't go and that star is dangerous. Oh yeah,
spent too much more. I really want I really want
one of the Rivalry hoodies though, the one that Paul
was wearing when we.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Were they were available.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
I like those.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
I hold out long enough, maybe someone will slide it
to me.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
I was gonna say, yeah, maybe it's kind of like
a hint, you know, like, well, I mean I wear
it on the show.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
If you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (22:15):
There's an audience that watches the show, and perhaps if
we were wearing some of the stuff that people would
be motivated to go purchase it when they see how
great we have.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Absolutely they absolutely to model it again.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
I'd be happy to. Yeah, someway all right.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Eight five five PATS five hundred is the hotline podcast
at Patriots dot com is the email address. Later in
the show, we'll be going a Vrabel Live. That's around
twelve fifty five. Uh so that'll be our our break time.
So during the break we'll we'll we'll go to Mike
Rabel see what he has to say.

Speaker 6 (22:48):
Yeah, Stefan Digg is going to talk in the locker
room today, so I'll report back.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
We'll get that that's going to be a scrum in
the locker room.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
That it will be like a scrum from it up
in the locker room. I know last week he had
separate special. This one's going to be a screw a scrum.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
I was in the locker room.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
I was told that he's going to scrum in the
locker room.

Speaker 6 (23:07):
Will be at his locker. Yeah, well, during media availability,
he'll be at his locker. The media will gather around
said locker and he'll.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
So it'll be a scrump.

Speaker 6 (23:14):
That's where we came up with the scrums like a fight, right,
I don't think it would be any.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
Is going to be holding the side and you're gonna
see sound.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
You'll see the striation in my Deltoyd striation.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
I'm sorry, I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Is it just came it like you mauged it right?
The bodybuilders out there, no one's talking.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Okay, actually be in tomorrow show. Let us know what
you did right and wrong.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
All right, let's get to some callers emails while Evan
is still here, because I'm sure most of them are
aimed at him.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
Only kidding.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Jonathan's in Missouri. What's up, Jonathan?

Speaker 8 (23:51):
It's Donovan. So I have a question.

Speaker 9 (23:53):
Do you think it was a mistake getting rid of Peppers?

Speaker 10 (23:55):
And why did we not play against the Raiders?

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Why did we not play Chisholm. What was the first question?

Speaker 1 (24:05):
Peppers?

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Peppers?

Speaker 8 (24:07):
You think it was a mistake getting rid of him?

Speaker 2 (24:11):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
I think it's too early for me to say yes,
I don't.

Speaker 7 (24:13):
Really.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Let's just look at last game. I don't think they
have used Peppers.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
I do think they could have, and I do think
that they let a good player go. I kind of
understand why. And the more time has gone by, the
more I'm sort of rationalizing to myself why they They
may have moved on, but I do think they could
have used him. Yeah, I don't think the secondary was
great in this game. They're obviously missing their best player.
That's a huge part of the problem, you know, without

(24:39):
Christian Gonzales out there. But yeah, I mean I think,
you know, I think if some of those catches that
Jacobe Myers had, that he broke tackles and looked like,
you know, a yak machine. Is he doing that if
Peppers is there hitting him instead of someone else, I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Maybe I think that's he could.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
I think that's a good point.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
But cover deep coverage wasn't his thing, and that was
the biggest problem. Taking away the Trey Tucker touchdown right
fresh drive, that was.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Sort of where I was going to go with it,
Like Hawkins gave up that thirty eight yarder on a
slant the Bowers and then he gave up the twenty
six yard touchdown. Like I think, if Bowers is one
on one against Gabriel Peppers is a thirty eight yard game.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
I would agree, so, but I I didn't.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Think of your point of if he's cracking.

Speaker 7 (25:22):
That well.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
It's funny because like I thought that Jakobe Myers had
some really good yak on some of those plays too,
and then it actually ended up like that his yak
was not that great. But that's also because it he
broke some tackles, right.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Yeah, because it's the difference between watching the game and
then looking in the.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Spreadsheet after the game.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
Yeah, because he did. He was hard.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
He was hard to tackle, Yeah, he was What about Chisholm,
it's the sixth receiver right now, So you know, I
think we got to get Kyle Williams.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
So the fifth receiver barely played. Yeah, I mean, I
you can make an argument he wouldn't have played until
garbage time had Booty not got and heard missed a
couple of snaps earlier in the game, because that's when
Kyle Williams came in.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
He played seven totals SNAs and they only played.

Speaker 6 (26:06):
Seven plays in the game. Yeah, I mean, I'm not
going to lie. There is part of me that expected
a little more out of Pop Douglas and there was
a little bit of inconsistency in week one based on
what we saw on camp. And I just wonder at
some point if they're going to say, we'd like to
just get a look at Chisholm in the slot and
see what his chemistry is like with Drake.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 6 (26:25):
Sometimes I feel like receivers, just certain receivers and certain
quarterbacks click and maybe he has it, maybe he doesn't.
But they're just so desperate to move the ball right
now that I think you have.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
To try everything.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
And I hope it doesn't get to that point where
they're like, all right, let's start rotating things up.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
But maybe if Pop continues to be a little bit inconsistent.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
I don't care who plays as long as they produce.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
You know, let's just.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
I know the numbers were I mean Pop had one
really bad drop in the game, and I know the
numbers would say seven targets only two catches. I don't
really think that was on Douglas. I don't think May
was was graded.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Well, there was certainly one in the end zone that
May was way out in front of him.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
Yeah, so that was And I thought the rowdy ran
on the on the touchdown, which I think we're going
to have. I think we already put it out because
I think it's part of all access. Like Rabel breaking
it down with Zoe, I think he shows you, you know,
really good route that to Mario Douglas runs. Rabel made
a big point of how we flattened it out as

(27:27):
opposed to drifting, which allows the defender to come underneath.
And it was one of Drake's better throws. Put it
in a kind of a tight window for the touchdown.
I don't think the problem was to Mario Douglas. Let's
put it that way, okay, weapon I think he was
open and you know, and I don't break down the
film after like everybody else does, but the ones that do.

(27:49):
I heard Greg talking about this a little bit yesterday
with my boys on my show. I've heard Evan talk
about I think Drake missed some some easy throws and
some of those Douglas was the easy throw.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Yeah, I mean it's it's not on pop that first
third down of the game, he gets open, you know,
on and out and Drake throws it ten feet over
his head. Now, his catch radius is something that's been
on my mind going back to the preseason.

Speaker 4 (28:14):
But that's not a problem that's gonna know be rectified.
Byefton Chisten Well, Chisholm's bigger. I mean it's not much bigger.
He doesn't have much of a catch radius, no, but
he's it's difference.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Between We're talking.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
Talking about a couple of inches. It's not much, but
it's not nothing.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
I'd like to see more out of Matt Collins this game.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
Yeah, he was that's a fair second.

Speaker 6 (28:38):
No, he was quiet and he I mean I think
I said it yesterday. He was really active off spring.
I mean Drake was always looking at him throwing fades
to him.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Yeah, I was surprised. I just thought he would be
talking about quarterback chemistry.

Speaker 6 (28:50):
Felt like in the summer, Drake had that chemistry and
trust with him even when he had a guy on him.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
You know what.

Speaker 6 (28:55):
Havn't actually sorry to change, but like much not Hunter
Henry one. You know, we're he said. Hunter Henry kind
of stopped and like looking at that, and it was
like he wanted the ball right there in the middle,
you know, and it seemed like it wasn't there, and
then Drake was like lobbing it over the safety for
like a contested catch, you know. So like I was
watching that one again, I know you pointed out, and
it was like, to me, it was like Hunter wanted

(29:17):
the ball because he was open right off, you know,
and it was like the timing was there about but
Drake was like held it a little too long and
then it becomes you're gonna have to go up in
the air and beat his safety and come down with
it somehow.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
So I just felt like frustration on his face.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Yeah, I wasn't sure if he was running kind of
like an over route and like maybe he had the
option to like settle it down. I don't know. It
was like where the where Drake threw it. I felt
like he was expecting Henry to cross the safety and
then keep going and if he had come out the
other like he threw it over, he layered it over
the second level, and if he had come out the
other side, then he's probably on the other side of

(29:53):
the safety, and like he was able to make the catch.

Speaker 6 (29:56):
But no, I don't know, it's just another one you
you pointed out where. I just thought it was, you know, interesting,
and I didn't know if it was just an example
of draken Sea.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Quick enough, there it is.

Speaker 6 (30:07):
And then Hunter was kind of like, I'm open, all right,
I'm not open. Oh wait, you're throwing it to me
that kind of But by the.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
Way, you noticed the little Patriots bracelet Mike's been wearing.

Speaker 6 (30:15):
I got it from Veronica and Social I'm wearing it
for luck. It hasn't worked yet.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Though, Okay, yeah, I thought maybe it was a Taylor
Swift thing.

Speaker 6 (30:23):
It is, well not too yeah, Oh, I'm just excited.
She got engaged, finally happy she found her Swift.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
They all all her fans have bracelets that they exchange,
they give away, and.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
I think some of them make them.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
Yeah, yeah, they're supposed to be good luck and nothing.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Speaking of the ball knowers, the ball knowers, he goes. Yes,
the ball knowers were very high after the review of
two things that I noticed won the Front four. They
thought that the Front four had a good game and
also Will Campbell.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
To fall starts is no, yeah, it can't happen, yep.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
But he graded out well supposedly.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Yeah, I mean, I'd be careful with the PFF grades,
but yes, I thought he was really good in this
game for the most part in terms of actually blocking people,
especially in past pro. I mean, you drop back fifty
three times. I had him for three pressures. That's not
terrible on that volume of dropbacks. So a good first game,

(31:25):
like a game that he can build off of and
move forward with. The run blocking for everybody needs to
be better. And I think, you know, he would be
the first to say that about himself too, because I
think he can be a real dynamic run blocker for
them once he gets going. But if that's what you
get out of him in pass protection, you feel really
good about that. That was a lot better than some

(31:47):
expected I would say from him specifically, But the improvement
in terms of from Vederian low to that would be
substantial if that's the way that he blocks for seventeen games,
so that that was a good sign, you know, the chip,
the strip sack like I don't know, sign, the blame

(32:07):
wherever you want to assign it. Like Rimandre probably could
have done a little bit more to help him. I
still think Campbell could have done a little bit better
to square up his guy. Uh but just kind of
a play that, you know, one bad rep type of
thing from those two guys. Okay, good overall. Yeah, let's
go to the Shawn and West West Virginia.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
What's up to Shawn Otter Virginia.

Speaker 10 (32:31):
What's up? How's it going?

Speaker 7 (32:32):
Good?

Speaker 10 (32:34):
Good?

Speaker 7 (32:34):
Good?

Speaker 10 (32:34):
I want to talk about the struggles with Miami Dolphins,
like that matchup or whatever where people have to realize
is that like, like to me, two is not that great.
But he's had the beneficiary of faith and some very
bad pass teams, you know, and you never got the
chance to face Brady the Brady past. Even though the
Brady pasts strugg dyn in to Miami believes they got
some wins. But this go ahead to show you that

(32:55):
if they can't get this offense together against a very
problematic defense with the Mina Dolphins. I was very much
show you what his offense is, and I think it
would be a great cause for concern if they can't
get their act together against a business defense like the
Miami Dolphins. And thats another thing too, but also still
I want to touch one that sold before. I don't
think the pressure was as good as people think, Like

(33:17):
Veradically they got really got pressure at songs, but when
Gino was actually back then I thought he was actually
more comfortable, more to songs than not dereg I just
wanted to say that, Okay.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
Yeah, I know what you're saying to Sean about the pressure.
I think we talked about that a little post game.
I felt like it was a little feast or famine,
like they either got pressure and got to Smith or
they tried to get pressure and really like the blitzers
got picked up and he had time to sort of
as an example, on that third and twenty that we

(33:50):
all sort of debated yesterday, they sent some pressure, it
didn't really get there, and Smith was able to easily
slide a little bit to buy an extra second for
the double move.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
And he is able to complete the pass.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
But when they did get home, when they when the
pressure worked, they got home, And it kind of looks
at the end of the day, I think anybody would say,
I'll take four sacks every game. You're kidding me.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
That's a good Yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:15):
That's a good total.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
But it does worry me that they had the blitz
to get pressure. Yeah, the four man rushes. Raybell was
asked about it on Monday. Seemed like he was a
little bit higher on the four man rushes than like
the PFF like pressure rates and things all the fancy
metrics would tell you. But I think that that might
stem from you have different objectives, Like sometimes when you're

(34:38):
only rushing for it's not really about, you know, getting
after the quarterback and screaming up the field. It's more
about keeping the quarterback in the pocket and collapsing and
that sort of thing. Maybe that's where it stems from.
That when they really wanted to get after him, they
were blitzing, and when they wanted to kind of contain
and play coverage, they they were going with the four
man rushes. But I would have liked to have seen

(34:59):
the little bit more, you know, Chase on Christian Barmore,
like in those one on ones in the four man rushes.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Eldred's in North Carolina.

Speaker 8 (35:08):
Hey, Aldred, Hey fellas, say y'all doing today?

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Okay, Biggie, thank alex In.

Speaker 8 (35:14):
Now you're all right?

Speaker 2 (35:15):
He's not here, Eldred.

Speaker 8 (35:17):
Well, okay, okay, I'm sorry, Evans. Got a bone to
pick with you.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Brother, But your guy, Dante Thorton played well, Eldred. I
thought you'd be in a good mood.

Speaker 8 (35:26):
Uh yeah, But he's on the wrong damn team. Who
should have got him here? In the wrong team, you know.
But then again, it's just catch ready, she said with
Pope was he five eight or six'? One quarterbacks still
got to get it. THERE i Know drake seng he
only had twenty six stamps in college and a little
bit last. Year, whatever he gonna go into. It but

(35:48):
that's the same quarterback we saw In North. Carolina if
a good defense, comes he gets a little. Worried you
don't see him up and. Down, OKAY i got. It we,
go you know with that. Leadership but he's just. YOUNG
i figured another year so you get the competitive spard in.
HIM i hope you do. It do it this year
because they come with practice AND i don't think he.
Practiced they good, enough but it must be saying something

(36:10):
that they went and tried out seven different players to
WHERE i receive the defensive. Back can y'll be about
it AND i take it off the. Air thank, you
have a good.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
One all, right thank, You.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
Aldred, Okay i'm not sure What i'm not familiar with the.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
Tryout what do we?

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Do we have some guys in for.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
WORKOUTS i, mean they always have guys in for workouts,
normally it's it's not.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
Much they do have an open roster. Spot AND i
will say the the constant roster flux has been eye.
Opening you, know so far we're a week and a half.
In they've had several changes to the fifty three and
widespread changes to the practice squad. Already you don't think
that happens every, Year, no not like, this not like.

(36:56):
That state learning double digits and changes of the fifty
three man roster since since that Initial. Tuesday this guy's
getting claimed on, waivers this guy's getting, waived this guys
moving back and, forth AND i just think it's been a,
lot AND i JUST i think it's. Indicative, YES i
think it's indicative That mike is still looking for the right,

(37:18):
mix you, know the guys that he wants to try
to work.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
With AND i like to get a report on.

Speaker 6 (37:23):
That, yeah, yeah, uh that's just you, know what's apparent
to me is that it's clear that this coaching staff
knows what they, want but they don't have it all.
Yet but they at least know what they, Want so
it's going to take some time to get what they.
Want but it's a little. Harder like last, Year pull's,
credit they kind of kept the same. Thing they kept
kind of the same defensive. Scheme they retained a lot

(37:43):
of the same, players and you, know their depth seem to.
Fit and this year you can tell that they need
to add more players depth and top line.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
Too, yeah what they, have.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
They they're not in the, areas the specific areas that
they're clearly not satisfied, with like the defensive, line which
we've seen a lot of and like.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
That that's what it's, about is What mike is talking.

Speaker 4 (38:02):
About i'm trying to find the players that fit the
WAY i want to, play and there's you, know there's
some areas that probably he doesn't feel as good about
his OTHER i don't think it's necessarily like a really bad,
thing BUT i do think it's been more than.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
Normal it's a really good, point, Though, mike about the
the vision of like what kind of players they, want
Because Elliot wolf has brought that up multiple times from
this past offseason about how it's easier That rabel has
a clear vision of WHEN i when you think of
like a safety that plays For Mike, rabel or a
wide receiver or running, back like he has a type

(38:37):
and he has a scouting report, of like this is
the TRAITS i want out of that, player and that
makes the scouting process hopefully like streamlines the scouting process
and makes it easy because you can just eliminate guys
that don't fit the.

Speaker 4 (38:50):
Mold that's a good.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
POINT i think that that was a big you, know
we always bring up not to make, excuses but we
always bring up the twenty four draft, class and it
always felt like when they drafted those players that they
had one foot in the door and one foot, out, like,
which what coaching staff are they drafting this? For what
schemes are they drafting this? For AND i think it's
a big reason why it's been so so bad is

(39:13):
because they kind of drafted certain guys that fit the
old way and certain guys that fit the new, way
and it just was kind of all over the.

Speaker 6 (39:20):
Place, YEAH i think part of the loss, TOO i
think feeds into, this and not just this season, loss
but just how the season, goes like finding the guys
that have the mental fortitude to stick with it and
not give, up you, know and those are the guys
THAT i think you can only really find what you
have when you do lose a couple of. Games AND
i mean that was a big theme Of vrabel after the, game,

(39:42):
saying you, know we're gonna find out now what we're gonna.
HAVE i think it was one of the lines in
forts for Fox. Bro he's, like you, know when something goes,
wrong as they always, do who's going to be the
ones who double down and work harder and you, know
try to dig out of the. Hole So i'm sure
he's probably learning a lot about his team this. Week
he will today Tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
Friday david In madrid writes IN i agree with all the.

Speaker 3 (40:03):
Sentiments the offense was very, vanilla but what worries me
more is that it felt like the whole thing was
a McDaniel. Special Is Thomas brown's passing game coordinator a
mere title or Will josh actually take advice from him
and add More West coast Slash college. Plays, also with
the backfield giving up so many damn twenty plus, plays
is that an infringement On Terrell williams since he's only

(40:25):
been a line.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
COACH i have a thought on.

Speaker 6 (40:27):
THIS i feel like we have this conversation or a
watch one first.

Speaker 4 (40:31):
Of the first.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
One, Yeah, vanilla but he's a defensive.

Speaker 6 (40:35):
Guy, yeah you, know you can look And i'm not
going to say that that you, know it wasn't basic or,
whatever but like in week, one are you supposed to
come in unloading the barrel of every trick in the?
Book and you, know like and they're trying to build something,
Here so you, know is there an argument to be
made That, yeah it was kind of simplified because they're
building the offense. Still this is week, One you've got

(40:55):
a new. Quarterback the conversation was about putting too much
On drake's. Play, well they kind of simpled it down,
anyway so maybe we're building to. THAT i just always
look at a season long arc of trying to trying
to build towards being, great trying to build Towards we've
got all these.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Things in the.

Speaker 6 (41:12):
BAG i just wonder if it's expecting a little much
to have them come out and have this diverse scheme
that's doing all kinds of different stuff right out of the.
Gate AND i don't even know even if you were,
experienced if you would want to do. That you, KNOW i,
mean you guys could speak more towards Those brady. Offenses
but granted.

Speaker 4 (41:28):
Those started out further.

Speaker 6 (41:29):
Ahead but is there a feeling out period where you, say,
look we're gonna build out the basic, things and, no
we're not going to be overly complicated and diverse in week,
one but we're gonna find what. Works we're gonna lean
into those, things and by the time we get to
week twelve or week, thirteen we know exactly who we.
Are we've got a versatile range of formations and plays
that we can.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
Call it that we feel good. About SO i don't,
know just SOMETHING i was thinking.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
OF i think that's that's more than. FAIR i JUST
i have never seen some of the, things maybe outside
of like The Cam Newton, year which was like its
own kind of thing that the emailer is talking about
From josh and so, like UNTIL i see him actually
go out there and really expand upon his run scheme

(42:12):
and not just Be paul's favorite, play you, know full
back dive up the, middle, like UNTIL i see them
have a real repertoire and that he runs a bunch
of different. SCHEMES i mean they ran outside, zone they ran,
wham they ran, lead they were like they ran, power
like they ran. Everything so that they didn't run. Everything
it's how it's all dressed up and how it's all you,
know presented to the. Defense and UNTIL i see that

(42:36):
conflict in that like real, CREATIVITY i JUST i want
to see.

Speaker 6 (42:41):
That, YEAH i want to see that from. Him, well
let me ask you a. QUESTION i, mean does dressing it?
Up does that complicate it? MORE i mean should or
should those be easy things that like it's easy to
say we're putting emotion into this formation and that's not
going to really add to the complexity.

Speaker 11 (42:53):
To what it.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
Does it does complicate, things and you know there are
certain LIKE i talked About miami With, tua like they
run a lot more motion With tua than when they
don't have, to because it's a lot of it's on the.
Quarterback he's the point guard and he's putting the guys
in motion and he's. Cadenced you, know he's got to
time up the snap with the motion and it's got
to all, hit you, know at the right. Time and

(43:16):
it is, complex but all the offenses around the league
are using motion now at a really high, rate and
so this should be starting to get kind of ingrained
in these players because everywhere they're going, there they're they're.
Motioning like there's a high amount of motion being used
across the. League so if you're a receiver or a

(43:38):
player that's involved in, it LIKE i would think that
this isn't the first time that Like Pop douglas has
been sent in jet. Motion, yeah you, know going all
the way back probably To. Liberty but you, know.

Speaker 6 (43:48):
After hearing what you said, yesterday LIKE i totally get.
It like you watch, it they get to the, line
they snap the, ball like you, know it just looks
like it's easy on the. Defense the defense, isn't you.
Know and every time you see a motion for The,
patriot you, know The patriots.

Speaker 4 (44:00):
Defensive so everyone's making calls and communications and if there's a,
miscommunication that's when the problems starts to, Happen so NOW
i get.

Speaker 6 (44:07):
IT i, just you, KNOW i just wonder over season
long what we're going to build towards and we'll.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
See you, know football fans know that traditions. Matter did
you know THAT i, did turning moments together into something truly?
Epic they're what inspire us to make our masa in
tostitos the traditional, way starting with whole current Current this
is hard to, say whole current corn, kernels corn.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
Kernels they use, them their whole, colonels no artificial.

Speaker 3 (44:34):
Flavors colors are, preservatives all to give you that perfect.
Crunch discover your next tradition this football. Season head to the,
store grab Your tostito's team bag and scan the code
for a chance to score an epic experience with The.

Speaker 2 (44:47):
Patriots tostitos tradition.

Speaker 3 (44:50):
Matters, yes whole corn Kernels citos really crushed.

Speaker 6 (44:55):
It LIKE i feel like there was Always dorito's and
that was what kind of thought of as nacho chips
and was the first THING i, remember like Non dorrito
tortilla chips that you could start to make your own
nachos or.

Speaker 1 (45:05):
Chip you, know they were they were a little ahead
of the.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
Crew, Yeah dorito's like those, yeah those are.

Speaker 1 (45:12):
Different, yeah you know it's like stuff On.

Speaker 4 (45:13):
Doritos So, doritos the original, gritos they used to have
something that was more it was more like a taco
chip without you, know like nacho cheese and the sour.
Cream now they became all.

Speaker 1 (45:26):
Flavors, yeah Now doritos gives you.

Speaker 4 (45:28):
Heartburn the only thing is like you're like you need
to shower right and you have to brush your teeth
for like twenty.

Speaker 1 (45:37):
Minutes it was ALWAYS.

Speaker 6 (45:38):
Alteredo we go To El toedo and they would bring
you the.

Speaker 1 (45:40):
Chips but you know that was.

Speaker 3 (45:42):
Fantastic, well the place that you went to In ends
would have Their it was.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
Amazing you have their chips and.

Speaker 1 (45:48):
Sauce how can you not AND i think you fill
up on you can more stop eating.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
Places that like have the they like do the sauce
on the gualk at the, Table, yeah they like bring the.

Speaker 6 (45:59):
Car as a former, Waiter i'm always LIKE i would
be so. Pissed they're like and we'll have the table side,
guacamole AND i was, like god damn, it they have
to like sit. There you, know like now you actually
have to do work at the table instead of just
like pick some up in the, kitchen drop it off.

Speaker 2 (46:13):
With like there's a place In. Arizona when we were
out there a couple of years ago for the, WEEK
i think we went like three. Times it was just
table side Gualk it's like right on them down there In.
Arizona but The Southwest.

Speaker 6 (46:25):
American, food like growing up here At elterito And Taco
bell those were my extent Of mexican food and one
of my first. Jobs this Guy Jose, valencia an awesome.
Guy one day during, work during, break he drove To
East la to this Little mexican food shack that he
knew about and came back with this humongous burrito that
we like cut like a loaf of, bread and oh my.

Speaker 1 (46:43):
GOD i was like This mexican.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
Food it was so good.

Speaker 6 (46:47):
THERE i, mean there's so many places out there where
you go to like a little stand on the side
of the road and they just amazing.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
Tacos AND i need two hand seed, Nachos brandon And.

Speaker 3 (46:56):
Maine much like the miracle of turning water into, WINE
i like to know what you all see is the
best path for turning our Water Drake may into Wine Josh.
Allen may isn't quite as talented As, alan But josh
struggled for the first year a little in the, second
but is now a top three quarterback in the. League
may might not have that high of a, ceiling but
he's got a similar skill set, physically but the mental

(47:19):
aspects seem to elude. Him still many of us forget
how raw and young he still. Is but now is
the time to really help him. Grow what did The
bills do and what could The patriots do to Help
may get closer to that mental ability level in the
next couple of.

Speaker 2 (47:34):
Years So i'm going to take off here in a.
Second BUT i don't think it's. MENTAL i. DON'T i
think what Changed Josh allen was his. Mechanics Josh allen
became maniacal about his throwing, mechanics like A brady level,
maniacal and became a much more accurate. Passer DON'T i
don't Watch Drake may's take and think he's missing, Receivers

(47:56):
he's not seeing the. FIELD i don't see. THAT i
see him missing receivers with his. Throws if he hit
that third down on the opening drive and they go
down the field and score if he hit you, know
The Hunter henry one that we keep talking about over
the middle of the field and they get that initial
first playoff and that first, down it changes the whole

(48:17):
complexion of the. Game and if they actually hard. Knocks
this year was on The. Bills it wasn't very. Good
but the one good thing that was came from that
is they went behind the scenes With Josh allen and
watched him work on his mechanics with his quarterbacks. Coaches
and then nowadays it's all, technology, right they have all
of like it's all wir he's wired up to things

(48:40):
and like all this kind of. Stuff but go Watch
Josh allen's throwing mechanics At, wyoming and then go Watch
Josh allen's throwing mechanics, now and he's just a much
more mechanically, sound accurate. Thrower and if they can Get
drake to that, point then he'll.

Speaker 4 (48:56):
Be Josh allen was. WILD i Think Josh allen did.
IT i Think i'm coming to a conclusion AND i,
love as you guys all, KNOW i Love Brian. DABLE
i think the more time has gone, by the less
Credit i'm giving To dable For Josh allen's.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
Transform so did he have his own, coach so he
worked With he worked With Jordan. Palmer that that's his
private quarterbacks. Coach but in my, opinion in order to
get to that, point you need to be insanely maniacal
about your mechanics and you need that needs to be
all off. Season you're in the lab and you are
working on, it working on, it working on, it working on,

(49:32):
it just Like brady used to.

Speaker 4 (49:33):
Do and that it has you have to be it
has to be ingrained in, you like it has to
be a. WORKOUT i think of it in a similar.

Speaker 7 (49:40):
Way.

Speaker 4 (49:41):
NOW i do not take Away Charlie weiss's credit for
helping a Young Tom brady develop and certainly he benefited
from strong. Coaching AND i know That Josh allen benefited
From Brian dable BECAUSE i Think dabel has an idea,
of you, know sort of convincing. Him you, know like
all the cliches that we always talk, about don't you
don't have to be superman every, play just take take

(50:02):
what they've given you and all that. Stuff BUT i
think it's got to be on the, guy AND i
think it was On Tom brady to Make Tom brady
what he, was AND i Think Josh allen deserves the
vast majority of the credit for what he's.

Speaker 2 (50:13):
BECOME i love.

Speaker 6 (50:14):
THAT i just would piggyback on that and say, patients,
LIKE i think we need a little bit of resent
as a fan base that you, KNOW i, MEAN i
gotta be, honest, like what are you rushing? To you
Want Drake may to be great this? Year you needs
to be great enough to knock off The, bills to
knock off The, chiefs, like.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
You, know you got a little ways to.

Speaker 4 (50:31):
Go WHAT i want to see is more consistent offense
as opposed to knocking off this one of that. One you,
KNOW i look back at like some of the other,
guys it wasn't always great record, wise but you, know
you're losing thirty, one twenty eight once in a while
as opposed to twenty to, thirteen you, know And i'd

(50:53):
like to see some of that stuff.

Speaker 1 (50:55):
Coming you're.

Speaker 4 (50:55):
Right it's the biggest thing right now is both the
coach and the quarterback are not in general.

Speaker 1 (51:03):
Terms this is. Anecdotal it's not every single.

Speaker 4 (51:06):
Time they're all case by, case but in general they're
not getting enough time to to sort of implement what
they want to do and see their see their vision
through both the coach and the, QUARTERBACK i, think AND
i think that's why you're Seeing Geno smith have a
better second act And Sam darnold have a better In Baker,
mayfield and there's there's you, know we all know all the. Names, now.

Speaker 1 (51:30):
It could have been that.

Speaker 4 (51:31):
Those guys just got released by their first team and
never got an another crack and they, became you, know career.
Backups that might have been the way it. Went Gino
smith was a backup for a while in between The
jets In. Seattle, yeah, right, yep and he was, ready
he was ready to take advantage once he got his.

Speaker 1 (51:49):
Chance BUT i think that that's probably the biggest.

Speaker 4 (51:52):
Thing And i'm not telling you these teams have all
done all the quarterbacks wrong because there's a lot at.
Stake you, know we would sort of joking around in
a very hypothetical doomsday scenario, yesterday right the three of
us were talking, about if you get to the end
of this year and it's more days Like sunday For
drake may than anything, else do you have to think

(52:13):
about next year waiting back into the quarterback. Class AND
i think you would have to think about. It it's
not SAYING i, would and that's not, Fair LIKE i get,
It like people would, say what are you, crazy it's
two years in for a twenty three year old. Kid you're,
Right you're absolutely. Right BUT i think teams have to
look at it all of those.

Speaker 3 (52:31):
Options especially if you have such much, invested right AND
i just someone you love and, YEAH i MEAN i don't.

Speaker 6 (52:38):
Know that's just What i'm struggling. With is you see
the examples and you listed off great. Ones Is Drake
may has all the physical talents in the.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
World like With.

Speaker 6 (52:48):
Mac, jones you just needed an excuse because you knew
he didn't really have high end. Talents so if he's
not really performing on the, field you don't really have
a reason to think that suddenly he's going to Be
he's going to get a rocket.

Speaker 4 (52:58):
Armor so when that's the, difference people might, Say i'm being.
Hypocritical i'm being patient With Drake, may AND i wasn't
With Mac. Jones that's Why Mac jones was supposed to
be a finished.

Speaker 1 (53:07):
Product.

Speaker 4 (53:08):
Mentally we knew he had physical, limitations he had a
low we were surprised that the mental wasn't all that,
Strong so now what do we hold it on To
With Drake? MAY i can see the physical and we
got to get the mental. There So i'm willing to
be a little bit more, patient.

Speaker 6 (53:23):
As you, SAY i need to see it because you
knew by the end With drake that like you know
That dallas, game you mean you mean that match right With.

Speaker 4 (53:30):
Mac but that's what he's thinking when he's throwing across
the field in year, three just like he did in
training camp of his rookie. Year i'm, saying the mental's
not getting any. Better and we already knew he was physically.
Limited so what is he bringing to the table With Drake?
May what he brings to the table is a dynamic
element of physical. Skills you. Know you Know Caleb williams

(53:52):
the same THING i heard everybody yesterday With Caleb. Williams
and you, KNOW i don't know if he'll ever get
it In chicago BECAUSE i think that he has some
of those off field PROBLEMS i think are problems for.
HIM i don't think he takes to the coaching well
so the mental. Side but you can see what they
what they saw on. Him but physically of, yeah, YEAH
i mean he ran around and made. Plays monday, night

(54:14):
he threw he made some incredible throws in the first
Half monday. Night in the second, half he looked like
he never played the position. Before, Yeah so if it
doesn't improve, mentally they're going to move on from him.
Too it just that's the way it, goes.

Speaker 6 (54:26):
Such a fine line between giving up and resetting again
and having a new rookie quarterback and now all the, same, like,
well it's just a. Rookie and you, know at what
point the teams look at some of the examples you
put out and, say you, know he was he was
not great in his sophomore.

Speaker 1 (54:43):
Year all, right let's go To Mike. Rabel we'll be
back after he's.

Speaker 7 (54:46):
DONE i would rather just speak on it. Myself, so
due to some unforeseen.

Speaker 12 (54:55):
You, know ongoings here with With, Terrell terrell is going
to Be Terrell williams will be a wait for the
next few. Days, Okay so it's nothing related to the
incident From, march but it was something that just came,
up and you, know we'll have to run some more
tests and we think it's best AND i think it's
best that you, know he focused on that and we

(55:20):
prepare For miami with what we've been, doing and we'll
talk to you a little bit later in the week
On friday about how the calling of the game will.

Speaker 7 (55:30):
Go, Defensively zach AND i have.

Speaker 12 (55:34):
Been you, know working with the staff to make sure
that where where we need to, be and that'll be
all we'll talk about what's. Real BUT i just want
to let you guys know what would be going on
there here for the next few, days and then we'll
keep you posted as anything comes.

Speaker 7 (55:48):
Up so you know that that's where we're at here to.
Start what did you Guys.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
Aaron might be See Christian antiles?

Speaker 7 (56:03):
Today, WELL i don't think we'll see him.

Speaker 12 (56:05):
Today continuing to, improve which is positive and working, hard
BUT i don't think we'll see him today on the practice.

Speaker 7 (56:15):
Field so, again just working hard and.

Speaker 12 (56:21):
Keep, improving staying engaged hm, hmm still preparing as a
as a starter and asking questions and the meetings and
and all those.

Speaker 7 (56:31):
Things so that's that's where we're at. Today, Sorry, phil go,
ahead that's.

Speaker 4 (56:36):
OKAY i just want to With.

Speaker 7 (56:38):
Terrell is this something that just came up today was
that after the beam was.

Speaker 12 (56:43):
At the, timing the timing was sometime between the game
and let's say, today you, KNOW i, mean but it wasn't,
today it was you, know earlier in the.

Speaker 7 (56:54):
Week so.

Speaker 12 (56:56):
This is this is where we're, at AND uh want
the best for, him went the best for him and our,
players our players' families and everybody.

Speaker 7 (57:05):
Else so, AGAIN.

Speaker 12 (57:07):
I can't speculate right. NOW i just want to make
sure that he's he's focused on getting getting results and
and and figuring out what the next step is here
or medically.

Speaker 4 (57:20):
Exacts experience over the course of the spring and the
summer maybe helped setting them up for.

Speaker 12 (57:25):
Sure, YEAH i, mean you, KNOW i, MEAN i Think
zach does a fantastic, job always has since he's been
with us. Before and you, know work the work through
the game, plan we'll work through, Practice we'll work through
the normal operation a third down and short yardage and red,
zone and you, know we'll have to be. Great we'll have,
to uh have a great preparation for for for an

(57:48):
offense that you, know motions a lot and relies on you,
know their speed and their, timing their. Precisions so it's
always a big check challenge to play this.

Speaker 7 (58:01):
Team what's your.

Speaker 13 (58:02):
Recollection might of the times that you have to deal
With miami And South florida in the early portionless season
because it can be.

Speaker 7 (58:11):
Quiet, WELL i, mean it's gonna be, warm it's gonna be,
wet it'll be.

Speaker 12 (58:15):
Humid i'm sure it'll, rain probably, lightning who, knows but
it'll rain and then it'll.

Speaker 7 (58:21):
Stop.

Speaker 12 (58:22):
MAN i think as a as a, ROOKIE i think
we might have played down there as a young player
back when the dirt was still there and it would
rain and it would fill up and it wouldn't drain very,
well and then it would just be grass and then,
water and then after it, stopped it would eventually drain.
Out BUT i think that's about what the forecast is
every single time you go down.

Speaker 3 (58:42):
There like obviously you haven't been here the last few,
years but The patriots organization has had a tough time
with The.

Speaker 14 (58:48):
Dolphins do you feel the weight of that.

Speaker 7 (58:49):
At all this? Week? Play? No, NO i.

Speaker 12 (58:52):
Don't Every every week is. Different every week is a huge.
CHALLENGE i feel the you, know the opportunity to go
on the road and win a division. Game that's WHAT i,
Feel and that's where our thought processes is that we
want to we want to try to get off to
a good, start and if we, don't we can't worry about,

(59:12):
it you. KNOW i, mean these are all things that
we have to be able to. Overcome whether you get
off to a good, start you're still going to have
to finish. Strong and if you don't get off to
a great, start you've got to go on to the next.
Play and just the understanding that that's how this game
goes and we have to we have to be able
to work past, it and we have to continue to
practice that way that if it's not, perfect that we

(59:34):
get what we can. Get we're, decisive we're, aggressive we
get back in the, huddle and then we get another
call and we get lined, up and we continue to
build it together and we try to bring three phases
together and put the return opportunities.

Speaker 7 (59:48):
That we have to help our offense.

Speaker 12 (59:50):
To then you, know our offense is able to score
or flip the, field provide our defense with, opportunities we
get some, turnovers take care of the.

Speaker 7 (59:58):
Ball know that that's the formula to to.

Speaker 4 (01:00:01):
Winning want of them a big plays every game obviously
this week is that.

Speaker 12 (01:00:08):
Well we're certainly gonna have to make them earn, it
and we're gonna have to find.

Speaker 7 (01:00:12):
Ways to to get the drive stopped.

Speaker 12 (01:00:14):
Right you either have to do what The colts, did
which was which was turn it, over or you're gonna
have to you, know make a play along the way
and and and and make him earn, it pick and
choose your spots to to try to be you know.

Speaker 7 (01:00:29):
Aggressive and it's not Just. TYREEK i mean they got
a fantastic you, know.

Speaker 12 (01:00:35):
ORCHESTRATOR i Mean tua does a fantastic job of knowing
where he wants to go with the, ball quick. Delivery
he's extremely. Accurate and then the speed with what with
waddle and you Know tyreek and and and the whole.
Team and then again then they have a fullback that
has versatility and can play on the end line of scrimmage.

(01:00:58):
Motions you, know you every big. Play you, know he's
kind of in the run. Game he's somewhere near it
as a.

Speaker 5 (01:01:05):
Player and a.

Speaker 2 (01:01:06):
Coach, now what do you Enjoy what have you enjoyed
about playing on the.

Speaker 7 (01:01:09):
Road, well you have to embrace.

Speaker 12 (01:01:11):
That you have, to you, know you have to travel
with with with the attitude that we need everybody that
that we're going with our.

Speaker 7 (01:01:19):
Group and.

Speaker 12 (01:01:21):
You, know the things that we talked about fundamentally earlier
about playing great defense and being able to control the
game right and create some. Turnovers you have, to you,
know there's certain things that you have to do on
the road that you, know whether you do them or
you eliminate some of the other bad, football you, know
that's what you have to do to win on the.

Speaker 7 (01:01:42):
Road in the, division you were able to have some
success over the, middle it felt what specifically off play.
Action how do you.

Speaker 12 (01:01:48):
Limit the disadvantage of linebackers having to cover over the
middle against the speed of with. Doctors, YEAH i MEAN
i think that sometimes we can you, know you, KNOW
i mean try to panic back there a little. Bit
and you, know that's what happens sometimes when you're in
zone coverage and then man, coverage you just can't let
your guy catch the. Ball so those are the kind

(01:02:09):
of philosophies that we talk, about and you, know it's
a it's a fine, line but continuing to to rep
that and turn and you, know panic and look those guys.

Speaker 7 (01:02:19):
Up underneath and and force them to try to, go you,
know somewhere else or go to to a.

Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
Checkdown like When zach is taking the role that he
is now does he have the full latitude to be
the defensive play?

Speaker 12 (01:02:33):
Caller You, well then we'll cover that later on in the.
WEEK i think that you, know we've worked through. That you,
Know i'll kind of continue to talk about that later
in the, week and you, know we we. Are you,
KNOW i Think i'm. EXCITED i know everybody else is
about our preparation and what we've tried to put in
and see. Today you know what what what works and

(01:02:54):
what looks good most, importantly what the players uh can
can understand and feel comfortable playing fast and aggressive like
the best interested.

Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
Team to do one go ahead, Too, well what is
the decision to RELEASE Dj James.

Speaker 12 (01:03:10):
Instagram just, uh you, know probably you, know as opportunity
and you, know somebody else to earn another.

Speaker 7 (01:03:17):
Opportunity.

Speaker 5 (01:03:21):
Yeah, NO i was gonna ask a similar, Question but
what was the when was that?

Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
Realization because he was someone obviously a week ago you.

Speaker 7 (01:03:28):
Wanted to work.

Speaker 12 (01:03:28):
With, YEAH i MEAN i think that just giving him
somebody else another, opportunity uh this, week and you, know
we'll kind of see where that. Goes BUT i appreciated
WHAT dj was able to do and compete and uh
work hard extremely.

Speaker 7 (01:03:42):
Hard there's just going to be you, know some of
these things are going to be.

Speaker 12 (01:03:48):
Fluid we have to try to continue to turn the
roster and see see who can help.

Speaker 7 (01:03:53):
Us to a.

Speaker 11 (01:03:55):
POINT a new game day captain different from the week,
One and what's your expectation for those game day captains
to be different from those sixth railer.

Speaker 7 (01:04:05):
Captains, yeah the votes came out how they came. Out
we renounced.

Speaker 12 (01:04:10):
Captains But i've always kind of liked to have a
game captain of somebody that's you.

Speaker 7 (01:04:14):
Know worked through something or.

Speaker 12 (01:04:17):
You, know it's going back to his hometown or played
well last Year's you, know there's different reasons for. That
AND i THINK i mentioned Because casey had received votes
as a Special teams captain and as a defensive, captain
THAT i thought it would be a good idea to
start off with. Him you, know there's the role of

(01:04:38):
the captain during the game is you, know they're going
to say heads or tails and figure out if we.

Speaker 7 (01:04:42):
DEFER i, MEAN i just the. Leadership is that what
we need and continue to grow the leadership.

Speaker 5 (01:04:49):
And the.

Speaker 7 (01:04:50):
Accountability, again at the end of the, day.

Speaker 12 (01:04:54):
Teams that hold each other accountable to all the little,
things to the, details to doing the right, things to.
Professionalism are the teams that in the END i think
can sustain this this grind of the season because there's
sit we're in, it and so now it's it's one
day at a, time and it's it's going to have

(01:05:16):
to have great leadership and great focus and an energy to.
Improve like you mentioned earlier in the, week you, know
you always trying to get into the right.

Speaker 13 (01:05:25):
Place sometimes they're going to get to the planet experiments
and get a look and you, say you, know we
can't run that, way and you, said, well maybe we.
Can't is this kind of a data collection. Thing let's
run the play if it might.

Speaker 7 (01:05:35):
Be, YEAH i mean we've been through this where you're
not going to block the.

Speaker 12 (01:05:38):
Safety sometimes a guy makes a, miss sometimes he runs him,
over like we watch all the, games like that's kind
of sometimes how it. Happens and sometimes a guy makes a,
tackle and So i've been through, that you know WHAT i.
Mean so it's you, know you just don't want to
put people in harm's way if they're pressuring and you
hand a ball off into some you know. Pressure so

(01:05:59):
AGAIN i think it's all relative and having some decisive
answers to give yourself the best, chance, right you don't
want to hand the ball off.

Speaker 7 (01:06:10):
Into somebody that's unblocked and.

Speaker 12 (01:06:12):
Blitzing, well if somebody's you, know for, example let's say
maybe at six or seven, yards, well you, know let's
let it eat and.

Speaker 7 (01:06:22):
Let somebody make a.

Speaker 13 (01:06:23):
Miss do you get to a point where on a coaching,
staff you, see let's let's try and run some of
These that might not be the greatest book to try,
it so you, know it.

Speaker 7 (01:06:31):
Goes if it.

Speaker 13 (01:06:32):
Doesn't, work then the guy who's seen that's why we
don't want run that.

Speaker 7 (01:06:35):
Play, yeah, NO i don't think we need to do.

Speaker 12 (01:06:37):
THAT i think we want to be all on the
same page on what the expectations are and being sound
and as long as that the players understand, it then
that's the most important.

Speaker 7 (01:06:47):
Thing and so you, know we don't want to do
ANY i told you so. Is that's not how we're
looking to do.

Speaker 12 (01:06:51):
Business we're just trying to be great here for the
players in, preparation great, energy structure of, practice continue to
improve and uh get started off and find a way
to go down and win a football.

Speaker 4 (01:07:03):

There what's thin? Air you were with a lady?

Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
Friend what's what's thin air about?

Speaker 1 (01:09:47):
That, no a lady friend implies that there's something going,
on and she. Wrote that's the end of.

Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
It, Dude look but it doesn't have to be.

Speaker 16 (01:09:55):
It it is BECAUSE i told you, yesterday AND i
don't like it when you make me repeat.

Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
Myself sounds like my. Father you Think i'm screwing things
up for.

Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
You just tell me you've been screwing things up for
me for twelve.

Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
Years.

Speaker 1 (01:10:07):
Buddy did you specifically tell him not to mention?

Speaker 7 (01:10:10):
It?

Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
NO i knew he was going as soon as he
walked up and saw.

Speaker 1 (01:10:13):
Us he had that stupid grin.

Speaker 4 (01:10:14):
That he's got on his face right. NOW i can
so see.

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
IT i won't mention it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:19):
Again but if when something, happens could you let us
know nothing is going to, happen you, know like if they,
hook you, know if they decide, to nothing is going to.

Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
Happen you fing.

Speaker 1 (01:10:33):
Morons i'm gonna go With.

Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
Andy why are you yelling at?

Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
ME i didn't do.

Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
Anything it's because you're joking around. Too you got him
on a Little, yes you, do admit, it but this
is All.

Speaker 1 (01:10:41):
Fred, okay what'd you guys? Eat DID i miss that?
PART i had?

Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
Swordfish that's another great moment from.

Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
All right back here And Patriots unfiltered past five. Hundred
that's a great. One that's a. Classic so a little
breaking news With. Rabel good thing we went to him
live during the. Break Throw williams out of action for a.

Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
While it looks like he's going to be dealing with some.

Speaker 4 (01:11:10):
Tests mike did not want to get into any of the,
specifics so we will not speculate any further on what
those tests might be in regard, to but he will
not be available at least in the short term. Here So,
MIKE i, think said that he would probably let us
know later in the, week so that would Be.

Speaker 1 (01:11:29):
Friday what the situation is with the defensive play.

Speaker 4 (01:11:33):
CALLER i think it's probably a reasonable assumption That Zach,
core the inside linebackers coach who handled a lot of
those duties throughout the, summer would probably be doing that
for the, game and you said mention Something freddie off
air when we were. Listening that's probably, right and That
mike is probably going to have to be a little
bit more, INVOLVED.

Speaker 1 (01:11:52):
I would think.

Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
SO i Mean zach did handle those, defense, yeah during the,
Preseason but Has Zach cord done that as a job
prior to being.

Speaker 4 (01:12:03):
HERE i do not believe he.

Speaker 3 (01:12:05):
Has, yeah he's a young, guy and Like i'm not
saying he can't do.

Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
It Roll williams had never done it, either.

Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
That's, true but a lot more experience with. DEFENSE i
do Think mike's gonna have to focus a little bit
more on the defense for a while, anyway particularly this,
game and particularly.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
Coming off what they you, know the game that they just.

Speaker 3 (01:12:25):
Had so you can't have twenty plus you know those
all those how many plays of twenty plus yards that
they had EIGHT i believe it.

Speaker 4 (01:12:37):
WAS i believe there were nine plays of twenty or,
more eleven of nineteen or.

Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
More, Yeah so you can't have. That you can't have
that with any. DEFENSE i don't care what your scheme.

Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
Is that's like cardinal rule number. One don't let things
happen like.

Speaker 3 (01:12:53):
That don't don't give him those chunk, plays and so,
YEAH i Think vrabel's gonna have to focus on the
defense a little bit for this period of.

Speaker 4 (01:13:02):
Time, yeah that's probably a safe. Assumption, obviously first and,
foremost we hope everything is okay With Terrell. Williams but
for the, team, yeah it's going to require a little
bit of adjusting on the fly for the coaching. Staff, yep.
Yep so he and the other bit of news that
was not good out of this press conferences AND i missed.

(01:13:23):
This guys told Me karen did ask out of the
shoot as we predicted About Christian, gonzalez and it doesn't
sound like he's going to be out.

Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
There he was very specific in his.

Speaker 3 (01:13:31):
Answer he said he won't be out there, Today so
does that mean he'll be out there? TOMORROW i was
a LITTLE i had a little conspiracy. Fit not a
conspiracy theory, going but a theory. GOING i learned earlier
this morning that the team was going to be out
in shells today as opposed to Last wednesday when they
came out in full, pads AND i, Said, okay to,

(01:13:51):
me that's an indication That gonzo would be out, there
because you want his first day out, there not in
pads and you, know going to adjust. It but you,
know so he's not gonna be out there today, PROBABLY
I i you, know he's not gonna play this.

Speaker 2 (01:14:04):
Week that's my, guess my guess at this.

Speaker 4 (01:14:06):
Point if he's not gonna be able to practice all,
WEEK i would agree with you because now you're, talking you,
know you're over six weeks since he last, played and
if he's not fully ready to practice this, week it's
hard for me to imagine him being ready to play On.
Sunday BUT i do not rule anything. OUT i think you're.

(01:14:27):
Right he did specifically say today when he was asked the.
Questions so Maybe Mike rabel's looking at us if we
can get him on the practice, field get him up to,
speed and maybe he can play at least on a
part time. Basis, yes On, sunday you're gonna need some
bodies more than. Likely mike talked about the weather and
the conditions that you generally deal with In, florida In

(01:14:47):
miami at this time of year, especially you would think
you would need some extra. Bodies so if if he
could even give, you you, know ten, PLAYS i think
that's probably a value add to have a guy of
that caliber, available but unfortunately not going to be out
there today.

Speaker 3 (01:15:03):
Anyway so a revealing press conference today With Mike. Rabel
i'm glad we went to. It eight five Five pass
five hundred is the hotline podcast At patriots dot.

Speaker 1 (01:15:15):
Com is the way to email.

Speaker 3 (01:15:17):
Us joe does just, that and he, says can we
please just set the sky can't fall Until october. Rule
i'm not saying be, dishonest but When mike is the
most positive, one it makes for tough. SHOWS i guarantee
to win this. Week how sore positive DO i need to?

Speaker 4 (01:15:33):
Be i'm just going to, say these are the little
things that do bug me a little bit in all,
seriousness because we can only talk about what's, happened, Right
And i'm going to guarantee you. This you guarantee to, win, right,
yep On sunday In, miami which would be the first
time they ever Beat tua if it happens in the
first win In miami since twenty. Nineteen i'm going to

(01:15:55):
guarantee you this. Right there's no one that's going to
call the postgame Show sunday night and, say can we
pump the brakes on how excited we are about? This
win down In miami for the first time ever OVER
tua Until. October no one's gonna say, That So i'd
just like to try to be a little bit intellectually.
HONEST i don't think it's the end of the world
that they lost to The. RAIDERS i said That sunday

(01:16:17):
night after the, game AND i say that here On.
Wednesday But i'm also going to be honest That i'm
going to be consistent And i'm not going to, say,
see you guys were worried about nothing Because Drake may
threw for three hundred and twenty yards Against miami On,
sunday if that's.

Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
What, happened because that's only week, two right, Right, so.

Speaker 4 (01:16:36):
And the same thing holds true about waiting Till. OCTOBER
i said this a few years whatever you want to
make for the, DEADLINE i said.

Speaker 3 (01:16:43):
This a few years ago when we thought we were
going through another rebuilding phase which got short change short
circuit in and now we're in another.

Speaker 1 (01:16:53):
Rebuilding BUT i, said it's REALLY i think a duty.

Speaker 3 (01:16:57):
Of this show to kind to tell it like we
see it and and be objective in most mostly fair
about it because you're gonna you, know when a team
is in the situation that this one, is you get
a lot of crazy, Reporting you get a lot of
overly positive and overly negative because people have. Agendas they

(01:17:19):
either they either don't like the head, coach or they
do like the head, coach or they don't like the
quarterback or they do and they have takes that they
now need to back up with what's going. On so
everything gets put through a blender and they hope it
comes out to support their, take and a lot sometimes
they're not fair in their take when they just.

Speaker 4 (01:17:40):
Get annoyed, with, like you, know can we can we
pump the brakes on the sky is? Falling WHEN i
really Think sunday after the, game yesterday's, show and that now,
today for more than half of, IT i DON'T i
don't hear people, saying, no this is a team that's
not going to win five. Games, no you, know the season's,

(01:18:01):
Over Drake may is not. IT i don't hear on our.
SHOW i can't control what everybody else. Says So i'm
not telling you that you're not hearing that, anywhere But
i'm talking about you said on this, Show mike's the
only one with any any. Positivity fred opened the show
yesterday by guaranteeing a win In, Miami, LIKE i don't
really know how you can be any more positive than,
that you, Know but we.

Speaker 1 (01:18:22):
Are going to dissect THINGS i.

Speaker 4 (01:18:24):
Did we talk after the game On sunday and, say
we have to reevaluate we think this team is now
we think you, know we thought that maybe they could
win eight or nine.

Speaker 1 (01:18:32):
Games NOW i have that down to four or.

Speaker 4 (01:18:33):
Five THEN i could understand you, saying, oh why do
you guys overreacting to one years knee? Jerk sunday was not.
Pretty we said that then and was saying it. Now
but it doesn't mean it's a referendum on the rest
of the. Season, No, NO i mean they can win
the game On sunday and have a much better outlook
at one in one than you would.

Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
Have all to be a little stronger in your own
convictions and don't get triggered when someone has some type
of critique or just.

Speaker 4 (01:19:02):
Listen, yeah, like listen to what we're. SAYING i don't
think anybody is claiming that the sky is. Falling.

Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
Yep robin San diego Via.

Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
CONNECTICUT i listened to some Of paul's, shows and many
are negatively Critiquing. MAY i heard analysts say he's not
staying in the, pocket his happy, feed scrambling too, much
leading to short gains or off target. Passes do you
see the same, thing and if, so do you Hold
is it a holdover from last YEAR'S o line, Issues
may Overthinking josh's offense or is it some regression in.

Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
MECHANICS i think that could.

Speaker 4 (01:19:35):
Be i'm not telling you it is Because i'm not
In Drake may's, head BUT i think that could be
exactly what we're talking. About, yes you, know AND i
do think that that was a part of the problem On,
sunday was that right from the very outside of the,
GAME i felt like he was moving around as if
he was under pressure at times when he.

Speaker 2 (01:19:51):
Wasn't, YEAH.

Speaker 4 (01:19:54):
I, mean the poor, kid but it might think about
based on what he went through last. Year, sure think about.

Speaker 3 (01:19:58):
It he's hearing this stuff, too, sure and it's like
half the people he's hearing is he's got to do
more with his.

Speaker 1 (01:20:04):
Legs that's his.

Speaker 3 (01:20:04):
Talent you, can't you, know not use his. Talent you've
got to do more with his. Legs and then he
hears you, know you got to stay in the. Pocket
you got to read the. Defense you got to do
that and then like the, call like the emailer, says
you've got the experience of getting your head beaten, in,
right you had at least two concussions last.

Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
Week that's a hard position to.

Speaker 3 (01:20:22):
Play so he's got all these conflicting things in his
head and he's just trying to be a good.

Speaker 4 (01:20:27):
Quarter about, it sort of settle it in and trust
what he's seeing and trying not to predetermine what's going
to happen and it's not if that's, again that's why
that position is so hard to. Play and you know
he has a lot of, ability he needs some experience
to go along with, it and the only way to
get that is to just keep.

Speaker 3 (01:20:45):
Playing also Says, rob the new rivalry gear dropped the
day before my, Birthday, yes nine to, Eleven so that's
like an early gift my nephew. Too and observation about
the hats do you all feel about how do you
feel about the string rope on? Them seems popular, now
but it makes me think of sailor. CAPS i, AGREE
i hate that.

Speaker 4 (01:21:03):
STYLE i don't like. THOSE i hate, it but that's you,
Know I'm i'm. Old, Yeah SO i know that a
lot of young kids wear. THAT a lot of the
players were wearing them during. Walkthroughs those like bucket hats
with the sting on, THEM i DON'T a lot of
the players are wearing them during walk THROUGH.

Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
I also don't like flat. Brim i've always been Fred
anti the Flat OH i hate flat. BRIM i think
twenty years from, now people who wear hat brim now
are going to look back and, say what WAS i?

Speaker 4 (01:21:28):
Thinking like bell, bottoms they have been around for a while, Though,
YEAH i, know Bell bombers kind of come came.

Speaker 1 (01:21:34):
Back, YEAH i just don't like flat.

Speaker 4 (01:21:36):
BRIM i agree bell bottoms.

Speaker 7 (01:21:38):
Bad, look.

Speaker 1 (01:21:40):
Let's see if they get.

Speaker 4 (01:21:41):
A champion sweatshirt look with the with the turtleneck underneath
from like the. Nineties, YEAH i didn't like that. EITHER
i didn't wear that at the.

Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
TIME i. Did i'm sure you did it VERY i rocked.
Back oh that's a towny.

Speaker 4 (01:21:52):
Look oh absolutely.

Speaker 1 (01:21:53):
That, yeah that's a towny.

Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
Tony and that's also a big hockey.

Speaker 1 (01:21:58):
Look, yeah kids who play.

Speaker 4 (01:22:00):
Hockey the champion combination of the turtleneck, sweatshirt, YEAH i
definitely definitely guilty as charge.

Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
There paul And orlando by way Of, attleborough longtime reader
listener have a full set of seven. Newspapers i'm assuming
he MEAN'S.

Speaker 1 (01:22:17):
Pfw that was a good season to have a full. Setup,
YEAH i mean.

Speaker 3 (01:22:21):
It would have been a collector's item if they'd just
one more, Win that's all they. Needed i'd like to
hear more thoughts On campbell's performance and if the panel
thinks he was overwhelmed or overwhelmed in HIS nfl. Debut
Will Campbell, yes absolutely not. Overwhelmed i'm still excited For
rabel's team to put it all. Together love all the
additions of the. Show the subtraction Of eric was a. Must,

(01:22:44):
fred you are a master of. ENTERTAINMENT i Think.

Speaker 4 (01:22:47):
I'm probably not quite as high On Will campbell's performances
as some of the even When evan was talking about it.
Earlier But biden know, me the rock solid first game
for a rookie like he was not. Overwhelmed he made
he made some, plays he gave up some, plays a
couple of. Penalties it wasn't, perfect BUT i would ever

(01:23:08):
once DID i say to, myself, man he just does
not look like he belongs on the. Field that's to
me is over.

Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
And when and when you think about.

Speaker 3 (01:23:14):
It before the, game we were, saying you, know Maybe
Max crosby moves around and they're gonna have to GIVE
i was surprised they didn't do what you're gonna have
to Give Will campbell.

Speaker 2 (01:23:23):
Help it's the.

Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
Opposite crosby stayed where he was and it Was moses
getting the.

Speaker 2 (01:23:28):
Help will was on his own and the guy he
was going to give.

Speaker 1 (01:23:32):
Up some pressures and, whatnot but he was but he was.
Not he was not.

Speaker 4 (01:23:35):
Overwhelmed he's a good, player, yeah and he's coming off
of torny a c l, too so you, know maybe
he was. SLOW i, Know Tyree wilson got a sack
THAT i didn't really think Was Will campbell's, fault and
it's kind of a sign to. Him BUT i thought
he actually did a pretty good job at that, play
And may stepped up and unfortunately ended up stepping up
right Into. Wilson but, NO i, THOUGHT i, mean there

(01:23:57):
was some, good some, bad but not.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
Overwhelming was, FINE i, Thought and people disagreed with.

Speaker 3 (01:24:02):
ME i thought the one area where he didn't look
up to speed was coming off his, block coming off his,
stance go you, know and PULLING i thought he looked
a little, slow and that.

Speaker 4 (01:24:12):
Was part of WHAT i would.

Speaker 1 (01:24:13):
Say it was not.

Speaker 4 (01:24:13):
Great it's like they wanted to run the. Ball they
ran it to his side a. Lot they ran almost
exclusively to the left and those two, guys and maybe that's.

Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
Because of the.

Speaker 3 (01:24:21):
ANKLE i don't, know you, know BUT i thought that
was an area WHERE i, thought, okay that he didn't
look quite as good here as he did in the.
Preseason so something to.

Speaker 1 (01:24:30):
Watch you. Know game.

Speaker 4 (01:24:31):
ONE i wouldn't sound any. ALARMS i, thought you, know
he kind of came as. Advertised we'll see if he gets,
better and we'll see how that.

Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
LOOKS i, Agree, YEAH i don't THINK i have you
heard anyone, say well he was.

Speaker 3 (01:24:44):
Overwhelmed, no, no, NO i haven't heard. That so maybe
somebody said it. Somewhere you're sure someone, did BUT i.
Haven't certainly not on your.

Speaker 4 (01:24:53):
Show heard, that not on your.

Speaker 1 (01:24:54):
Show they're picking more on may like like the emailers
were saying.

Speaker 4 (01:24:57):
Earlier, yep.

Speaker 3 (01:25:01):
Let's, see there's a lot of a lot of emails coming,
in a lot of calls. TOO i appreciate everyone getting
involved here in A. WEDNESDAY i always.

Speaker 4 (01:25:09):
Uh and just so let everybody know what you, know
As fred's sort of resetting with the emails and the,
Calls mike went into the locker, room you, know a
little while. Ago Stefan diggs is scheduled to, talk so
it's always interesting to see what What diggs has to.
Say AND i think shortly Thereafter mike will come back
and give us a little bit of an, update Whereas
evan will stay in the locker room for the duration

(01:25:32):
of that period and then go out to practice and
we'll see officially you, know who's out there at practice
and who, isn't but that'll probably be after the show
is over by the.

Speaker 1 (01:25:40):
Time, Yeah evan's done with.

Speaker 3 (01:25:41):
That let's get back to the, Hotline richard's And. Warren what's?

Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
Up Rich.

Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
Richard shared he was holding on for almost an, hour
SO i don't blame, him but can you let us. Know,
No matthews In, Arizona, Hey, matthew.

Speaker 10 (01:26:00):
How's it.

Speaker 9 (01:26:00):
Going just letting you guys. Know we do have Dunkin Donuts.
Day we Got bobs the scunt furniture out, Here so
if you're out here during the winter, time you check
out our piece of. Furniture if you're A. SNOWBIRD i
don't mean Naptize bob's the scum, Furniture But i've always
been a.

Speaker 3 (01:26:14):
Fantasy well by both of those, brands because there's a
lot Of New englanders out.

Speaker 1 (01:26:19):
There there we.

Speaker 9 (01:26:21):
Go, Yeah so, ANYWAY i kind of want to. Revise
BUT i said yesterday AND i had a lot of
negative criticism With may fitting in The josty Gain old.
System BUT i think at the end of the, day
it's bigger. Picture it's about the margin the era THAT i,
think like Sim brady, left it's still a very thin
margin error even with think about all the teams we've
played where we think there were you, Know winnabowl games

(01:26:44):
against that, teams even In. Miami you, know like we
can't let our guard down with, that AND i Think
may we need to put them on like a leash
a little bit and focus on a short comedian passes and.

Speaker 1 (01:26:54):
Work on Da he can't do.

Speaker 5 (01:26:56):
That.

Speaker 1 (01:26:57):
Yep not being, Fair, YEAH.

Speaker 9 (01:27:03):
I Know evan's not there. Yet, YEAH i just just my,
thought you, Know but it's it's more so that the
pit margin of an air you, Know it's just we
can't take everything for. Granted we're going to fight for
our wins and we might have some ugly wins and ugly.
Losses BUT i hope we can win more than four.
Games BUT i don't want to put a number on.
It you, know if we're better than we were from week,

(01:27:24):
one and then in the, season if it's marginally.

Speaker 2 (01:27:27):
Better, okay all, right Thanks.

Speaker 4 (01:27:29):
Matthew, YEAH i mean that's that's what you're looking, for
Right you want to see some. Development there's you, know
there's a lot of difference too between you, know this
year and last, year and you, know in terms of
the age and you, know the the personnel on the,
roster there's a lot of new guys and there's a
lot of young.

Speaker 3 (01:27:46):
Guys, well my expectation is that they're a lot better
than they were week one at by the end of the.

Speaker 4 (01:27:50):
Season you want to make sure that you're getting better
as the year goes, on and that obviously starts right
at the top With drake May Uh andrews in D. C, Hey, Andrew, Hey, Hey.

Speaker 9 (01:28:07):
I've just got a good question for you. Guys So samon's,
right and he can't get better with the, accuracy but
he gets better. Mentally is there a version of that
that can work for Josher dennis offense or does he
need to get more?

Speaker 1 (01:28:19):
Accurate, YEAH i MEAN i THINK.

Speaker 4 (01:28:24):
I think he's going to need to get more, accurate,
period no matter what offense he. Plays, yeah you, KNOW
i don't think it's just Because josh McDaniels requires a
lot of you, know.

Speaker 2 (01:28:33):
Short offense does not require the quarterback to be.

Speaker 4 (01:28:36):
Accurate you, know you can be a little bit radic
here and, there but you need to be more consistent
with with some of the shorter, PASSES i, think regardless
of the.

Speaker 1 (01:28:45):
System but, YEAH i understand what you're talking.

Speaker 4 (01:28:46):
About if you if you improved, mentally does that sort
of make up for the accuracy? Problem and it probably
does to an, Extent but he's going to have to.

Speaker 1 (01:28:54):
Improve and, yeah you can anticipate better and you, can you,
know certainly your.

Speaker 3 (01:28:58):
Confidence but, look we talk about a, lot you, know
when it comes to guys getting open in college versus the.
Pros there's college open and THERE'S Nfl, open AND Nfl
open is a lot smaller.

Speaker 4 (01:29:12):
WINDOWS i Think Caleb williams is a big. Deal, Yeah
LIKE i, think did you mention that?

Speaker 2 (01:29:16):
Yesterday?

Speaker 1 (01:29:16):
NO i, DIDN'T i.

Speaker 2 (01:29:17):
DIDN'T i don't.

Speaker 4 (01:29:18):
KNOW i don't Think Caleb williams right now looks like
a guy who's waiting for everything to be, perfect and
that's you.

Speaker 3 (01:29:25):
Can't, so LIKE i, said every offense in THE nfl requires.
Accuracy so if you're not, accurate you're not going to
make it as a quarterback in THE.

Speaker 1 (01:29:36):
NFL i don't care what your offense. Is that's you.

Speaker 3 (01:29:40):
KNOW i know it was a little bit, semantics BUT
i was going back and forth With evan yesterday and, saying,
well it's not his game to be accurate in the short.
Game well Then i'm, sorry but he can't play in THE.
NFL i don't accept.

Speaker 7 (01:29:52):
That.

Speaker 1 (01:29:53):
NOW i get.

Speaker 3 (01:29:53):
It that's not his best, thing is not his best. Attribute,
okay but you have to be some want accurate in
the short game in THE. Nfl i'm, Sorry you're not
going to complete every pass for fifteen twenty. Yards you've
got to take what they give you sometimes a lot
of times in THE, nfl and you better damn well be.

Speaker 1 (01:30:13):
Accurate that stuff will. IMPROVE i of course it. WILL
i have no doubt it.

Speaker 3 (01:30:18):
Will but like this whole thing About Oh josh is you,
know it demands an accurate. Quarterback we got to stop
that every offense demands. Accuracy my, goodness get me. Started let's,
See nathan writes IN i listened to the PODCAST A

(01:30:40):
daylight On, Spotify so apologies if you talked about it already.
Today tuesday's Episode deuce brought UP jj McCarthy as one
game winning, Drive may has zero with more games. PLAYED
i know the situations are, different BUT i put even
more of a spotlight In may's. Play wanted to get
your opinions on. This don't Think may is the guy

(01:31:01):
and he's going to prove the haters. Wrong looking forward
to this, WEEK i think The patriots are in a
really good spot to take advantage of a Crumbling miami. Team,
well we, hope but, YEAH i, mean, listen facts are.
Facts may hasn't led the team to a comeback win,
yet although did he had did he have? One, no
that Was Mac, JONES i think at that. One so

(01:31:22):
he hasn't done. It he hasn't done, it and we're
waiting for. That you, know we're waiting for that signature,
win even if it's not in capital, letters even if
it comes early in the, season you, know not a playoff,
win but we're waiting for that signature win From Drake
may and it hasn't come.

Speaker 4 (01:31:39):
Yet and it hasn't come, yet but he still hasn't
even played a full seasons worth the, games, right you
know THAT'S i think sometimes that part gets.

Speaker 3 (01:31:48):
Lost but you, Know i'm going to be. Fair If
i'm A vikings, Fan i'm coming out of my shoes right.
Now in his first, start after having a rocky start
in his first, start he turned it on the fourth
QUARTER jj McCarthy and that's what you want to. See
that's that it. Factor, now maybe he'll never do it
again in his career and he just got, lucky but

(01:32:08):
he did it, once AND i IF i was A vikings,
Fan i'd Be i'd be really really happy about.

Speaker 1 (01:32:15):
That douche is. Back look who's.

Speaker 8 (01:32:18):
Back from the locker?

Speaker 14 (01:32:19):
Room what was the mood where the player's friendly to?

Speaker 5 (01:32:22):
That none of them looked Like Derrick Henry Hay, mike
what was it like in the locker?

Speaker 1 (01:32:29):
Room Hay, Mike what was it like in the locker?

Speaker 6 (01:32:34):
Room i'd swag down, There Hey, Mike, hey what was it?
LIKE i Heard Stefan diggs, Talked Deefon diggs. Talk Marcus
jones were the two THAT i got and THEN i.
BOLTED i handed over those Duties. Alex but you, KNOW
i think everybody's putting in perspective and you, know ready
to get back on the field and think focus on
the new. Opponent AND i was just, LIKE i still, am,

(01:32:55):
like That's Stefon. Diggs Stefon diggs is on this team right.
Now it's still, LIKE i don't, know it's just still
crazy to. Me but he, just you, know he says
all the right. Things he just he has that confidence
and you, know you hear him talk about things being,
fixable and you, know we're just getting that first game
under our belt and figuring out what we can and can't,
do and you, know it's hard not to listen to
a player of that caliber and you know kind of

(01:33:16):
believe a little. Bit and SO i hope that that's
how the rest of the team is taking. It but you,
know for, him it was a lot about just getting
out there. Again you, know he said he wasn't really
able to take the moment in entirely because he was
competitive and he's you, know wanted to be winning the
game and but just great to get out there get hit.
Again that was a big part of it, too so
like like his confidence and hopefully the rest of the

(01:33:38):
team can.

Speaker 1 (01:33:38):
Build off of.

Speaker 6 (01:33:39):
That heard a little From Marcus jones just saying challenges
Of tua and you know the offense really hasn't changed
all that much in his eyes this year from what
he's seen on. Film but, still you know what those
guys can do when they're in sync and they're in
rhythm and they're not being, Disrupted so it can be
tough challenge for.

Speaker 1 (01:33:57):
Sure those guys seem to realize a. Mood it's.

Speaker 6 (01:34:01):
ACTIVE i mean a Good, wednesday you, know you feel Like,
wednesday especially when you go in. There now it's before,
practice so you just you, know guys are getting, ready
guys are getting. Focused some guys, are you, know on
their table lists reviewing. STUFF i had Caught. Spallane he
had his uh you, know he where's that? Face but
he's like at his locker like reviewing, stuff but he's
already got his helmet, On LIKE i guess he's just
getting some last. Tips but you can tell he's. Intense

(01:34:22):
but you, know it's always good energy in. There it's
not when we go in there On fridays now and
it's everybody's kind of trying to get out or wrapping things.
Up so it's a little bit different mood of let
me get out of, here whereas now it's everybody's got
to go to practice and you, know locking in and getting.
Focused so large media, Contingent large media, contingent and UH
i was talking to our photography, Assistant, lexi who worked

(01:34:43):
for The cults for a, while and she was telling, Me,
man it's not.

Speaker 1 (01:34:46):
Like this at The. Cults there's like nobody in the locker.

Speaker 6 (01:34:49):
Room it's like there's so many cameras and media members
And i've been.

Speaker 4 (01:34:52):
Telling people forever how many people Every, yeah IT'S i,
MEAN i JUST i, MEAN i said to, her it's
BECAUSE i remember WHEN i, started and you look around
and It's Tom, Brad Julian, Edelman Dante High. Tower you
got like just you, know these megastars all over the,
place and the definitely digs and there are some stars
in there, now but it's it's still the interest in
here and the love of this team and the passionate

(01:35:14):
following with this. Team it's you, know it doesn't seem
like it's really been dented from a media, perspective even
despite the last couple of years in the start they've
had to the.

Speaker 1 (01:35:21):
Season so you, KNOW i don't know if you, knew
BUT nfl is pretty. Popular, well it sure.

Speaker 7 (01:35:26):
Is you.

Speaker 6 (01:35:27):
Know we hear a lot of the fans who are
correctly so a little frustrated with lack of wins over recent.

Speaker 1 (01:35:33):
Years but we keep, on ha been.

Speaker 3 (01:35:35):
On got to get back to the twelve one, Seasons
dante writes in and he's From, Newark?

Speaker 1 (01:35:41):
Delaware new is That? Newark, Newark? Delaware, Newark?

Speaker 3 (01:35:47):
Delaware he, Says i've got to be. Honest McDaniels needs
to simplify the. Offense all, right all? Right why do
we not run more RPOs with the offensive line in
THE qb we? HAVE i really do think McDaniels needs
to create small.

Speaker 1 (01:35:59):
Wins.

Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
Drake, yes he's a very SMART, qb but we need
to put that to the side for now until he's
had a successful. Season once he gets settled into THE,
nfl then you can really open up the. Playbook after,
All drake may has ten games played in THE ncaa
and ten games played in THE.

Speaker 1 (01:36:14):
Nfl loved, okay which is a lot more than ten
games played in THE.

Speaker 2 (01:36:19):
Ncaa which is?

Speaker 1 (01:36:20):
It they.

Speaker 3 (01:36:21):
Have ALL i heard was that it was a vanilla
offense in this.

Speaker 4 (01:36:25):
Show just in this, show we've had a complaint that
the offense is vanilla and an offense is too, complicated.

Speaker 1 (01:36:31):
Right so which is?

Speaker 4 (01:36:32):
It and he played two seasons At North. Carolina that's
more than ten.

Speaker 6 (01:36:36):
Games it's a complicated offense that they just played a
too simplified version Of, Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:36:42):
No i'm.

Speaker 2 (01:36:42):
SERIOUS i don't.

Speaker 1 (01:36:43):
KNOW i think it was a pretty simple offense last.

Speaker 4 (01:36:47):
Week and they actually ran. RPOs, YEAH i, Mean i'm
not telling you they ran a ton of, them but
they had a.

Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
Couple, yeah you. Know, now did they have a lot
of design runs For? Drake no they. Didn't they. Didn't
but that's not imp catered or less comp but our
pos are potentially runs For Drake.

Speaker 4 (01:37:03):
Man they could be LIKE i think he only ran
one of them, himself, right but he handed one at
LEAST i mean maybe it was only, two but he
handed one To Trevion.

Speaker 1 (01:37:11):
Henderson.

Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
YEP i just want to break.

Speaker 1 (01:37:14):
This cycle of Every.

Speaker 6 (01:37:15):
September we everybody's got all the answers of motion.

Speaker 4 (01:37:18):
AND rpo and if they just you, know we're out
of you, know In shotgun more or if you, know
like they like this is what we talk. About maybe
it's just the first month of the season and this
is always how it kind of. Goes, YEAH i don't
care what month it. IS i just want to break the.
Cycle we didn't, score so this is why we didn't. Score,
everybody here's the answers right right telling you it's my
boy and all is all twenty two cowboys that are

(01:37:39):
killing the viewing of the.

Speaker 1 (01:37:40):
Sport like.

Speaker 4 (01:37:42):
Everybody it's like you know that they go online and
they're able to find, out, well they were twenty eighth
in the league in, motion like that's. It there's the secret.
Sauce that's why they can't. Score or you know THEIR
epa on throws of this length is you, know twenty
seventh in the.

Speaker 1 (01:37:58):
League, josh wake.

Speaker 2 (01:38:00):
Up like it's not that.

Speaker 1 (01:38:01):
Simple, no it's. Intangible it's not that.

Speaker 4 (01:38:04):
Simple you need better players and you need better. Performance
AND i don't care what schemes you're. Running you, know
after a, while then once you get that in, place
then you can start fine tuning and nitpicking how you're
utilizing your. Weapons i'd be a lot more upset right
now In miami with the speed that they, have and

(01:38:25):
the and the playmakers they, have that they had the
fewest amount of yards In week one like that was
a that was the worst performance of The tua era, offensively,
right and they run, snap but that would be troubling
to me THAT i have waddle and hill in a
chan and a guy who directs that as well as
anybody is suited for that kind of an. Offense and

(01:38:48):
you guys are telling ME i didn't watch all THE
i didn't go back and watch it, all but you
guys told me it wasn't necessarily because tool was just
swarmed and under pressure. Constantly so why uh in are
they not more productive offensively because they didn't play. Well
it's not because their scheme. Stinks it's not because their players,
stank they didn't play. Well sometimes it just comes down to, execution.

Speaker 6 (01:39:09):
Right that's WHY i left out With Marcus jones when
they asked about The dolphins offense in, there and he's, like,
well you, know they motion like every single.

Speaker 1 (01:39:15):
Snap so it Was miami down. There we motion too.
Much we got a motion less Like that's WHAT.

Speaker 7 (01:39:21):
I.

Speaker 3 (01:39:21):
Mean you can make the argument that motion makes it
a little bit more, Complicated it really doesn't you, know
it's a lot of its window.

Speaker 1 (01:39:26):
Dressing but.

Speaker 2 (01:39:29):
We heard it's too.

Speaker 3 (01:39:30):
Vanilla now we're hearing it's too.

Speaker 1 (01:39:31):
Complicated it's just Too they need to they just need
to play beat to play, better right? Right, Well AND
i don't all feel better about.

Speaker 6 (01:39:38):
NOW i heard you guys talking about j McCarthy And
paul AND i were talking a little about him this
morning Of i'm just, wondering are there certain guys that
just have? It you know they have it's one.

Speaker 4 (01:39:49):
GAME i know, that but this is what he was known.
For like in high school he almost never. Lost in,
college he almost never. Lost you know this is sometimes
those are just coincidental and the guys are on a
great team and he happens to be the guy who's
long for the, ride and sometimes he's just one of
those guys that when a game needs to be, won
he's Like brady and he makes the. Place AND i Love,

(01:40:10):
Scataboo like did you see him in the first, Game
like he almost destroyed one of his own. Linemen he
just like seeks. Contact i'm telling you he'll have a
wonderful two and a half year. Career BUT i love
watching that guy.

Speaker 6 (01:40:23):
Play, Yeah, well that's and that's part of the reason
why you, KNOW i maybe was a little late to
jump off the Mac, jones you, know, believe not believe in,
him but just giving him a, chance because that was
what you were seeing with. Him is he one of
these guys who despite his, limitations he just has some.
Magic and now you're looking at a version of a
guy WHO i just never saw how any man which
is it never saw well, well but you, KNOW i
mean we're in the National. CHAMPIONSHIP i mean, that you

(01:40:44):
know WHAT i, Mean, ALABAMO i mean coming in LIKE
i don't, know that's just a, winner you, KNOW i,
mean that's rolling.

Speaker 1 (01:40:50):
Out, yeah, Okay but when a kid.

Speaker 6 (01:40:52):
Wins the national, championship you know he's won a lot of.
GAMES i, mean THAT'S i, mean that's what was keeping
me on Mac jones a, board that maybe he's got
some intangible, magic that he's just in anate, winner that
somehow guys around him rally and make. Plays and now
you're waiting to see If drake may kind of has.
That but again going to be patient because he's got
all the athletic gifts that you, know if it ever does,
click that he's going to have.

Speaker 4 (01:41:13):
Everything why he's going to get more, rope, RIGHT i,
mean at least for. Me BUT i think that's why
that the league will give him more rope than they Gave.

Speaker 3 (01:41:19):
AC i think you could make the argument, that aside
From New york And, dallas maybe this might be the,
toughest most pressurized market for a quarterback to play, in
especially on the, kill because not just the media contingent
that you, were but the success that we've had and
the expectations that we now, have it might be the.

Speaker 4 (01:41:37):
Toughest in the, conversation you, KNOW i think there's probably some,
others but.

Speaker 7 (01:41:42):
This area is.

Speaker 1 (01:41:42):
Tough, yeah they just won six.

Speaker 4 (01:41:44):
Titles they know what it looks like when it's what
it's supposed to look, like and they're going to call
it out when when it doesn't look.

Speaker 7 (01:41:50):
Like, so.

Speaker 3 (01:41:53):
BUT i agree there are some players that just have
it that wherever they, go It's. Mike they you, know
they they raised the tides and.

Speaker 4 (01:42:03):
Because it was all forwards on you, know he one
though that was. Unfair that was you know. What Paul
pearl was a, defensivest a defense. Mianist, yeah he had
an out a. Defenseman oh, Really, yeah that's why you.
Didn't that's why you didn't QUARTERBACK pp one because.

Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
They all tried to Get paul into the weight room
And paul.

Speaker 1 (01:42:20):
Refused, yeah he was talking about, no, no, no how
did how did that take?

Speaker 11 (01:42:27):
It?

Speaker 4 (01:42:27):
ROCKET i think he.

Speaker 6 (01:42:29):
HEARD i thought you, Said Paul, PERILLA i thought youself
in The, yeah he's my old college hockey.

Speaker 1 (01:42:33):
COACH i assured you, too THOUGH i thought initially you
were talking About. Pearl was Was mike's coach at Holy.

Speaker 4 (01:42:40):
Cross later he was an assistant AT, bu which is
kind of WHERE i got to know him a little. Bit,
no not really know, him BUT i met him a few.
Times BUT i was making a joke that he was
just had an out a, Defenseman.

Speaker 1 (01:42:52):
Mike he was a.

Speaker 4 (01:42:53):
Defenseman he didn QUARTERBACK pp one because he had five
forwards ON pp one AND i came out for P p.

Speaker 2 (01:42:59):
Two.

Speaker 6 (01:42:59):
No you know WHAT i did, though because he always
wore he wore twenty, two and he would always give
that to like his favorite, defenseman and he gave it
to another guy in my. Grid AND i was, like all,
RIGHT i Guess i'm Not i'm not The i'm not
the mark, man not The i'm not the.

Speaker 1 (01:43:09):
Guy so now it's all.

Speaker 4 (01:43:10):
Coming these are details THAT i might have wanted to
know when we Had you didn't get number twenty, two,
RIGHT i didn't know that. ONE i just wanted to
know what happened sophomore. Year, NO i told you it
was a good. Answer you're part of the police, Now
paul nemm, okay, Right Mike nem nem black, like, okay, Good,
no it's actually my brother in.

Speaker 14 (01:43:30):
Law.

Speaker 4 (01:43:31):
GOOD i was part of that swat swat. Unit he
no longer, is but he.

Speaker 1 (01:43:35):
Was okay. Swat don't mess with.

Speaker 3 (01:43:36):
Him.

Speaker 2 (01:43:37):
Uh scott And?

Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
Wellesley what's?

Speaker 3 (01:43:38):
Up?

Speaker 1 (01:43:38):
Scott scott And?

Speaker 2 (01:43:42):
Wellesley scott going once, twice three?

Speaker 1 (01:43:46):
Times you're? Out he had nothing to say.

Speaker 3 (01:43:48):
Anyway Now ivans In, California, ivan what's?

Speaker 14 (01:43:51):
Up, hey, gentlemen how are you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:43:54):
Today?

Speaker 14 (01:43:57):
Good. Listen appreciate you guys better than the talk radio
stuff we have to, Hear so it's actually good to
talk real. FOOTBALL a couple of. Things Number, ONE i
Know drake may has been the topic of, conversation as should,
Be but to, me it's Like number, one can we
can we play one clean? Game can we go one

(01:44:18):
game without an interception or a? Fumble or. Something and
the second part of that, IS i know you guys
brought up WITH jj, McCarthy which is WHAT i was
thinking On monday. Night we're taking a look at. Him
is you know you're going to be able.

Speaker 9 (01:44:32):
To hit the?

Speaker 14 (01:44:32):
Bunnies you, know just JUST i don't understand how that's
not a very critical thing that he works. ON i,
mean instead of having your guys get together In florida
and throw the ball, around go go find Tom. Ailis
so go find somebody and work on your damn mechanics
so you can hit the, small, short medium passes because

(01:44:53):
the offense will actually move a little bit.

Speaker 8 (01:44:55):
Better you know WHAT i.

Speaker 14 (01:44:56):
Mean so it's it's just. Disappointing and the last thing
on him IS i DON'T i don't. KNOW i just
don't think he has it as far as commanding a
team in a. Huddle AND i know he's, young but
some of the things that were a little BIT i don't.
KNOW i guess you could say a concern coming out
of college are bearing fruit and it's Not josh McDaniels McDaniel's.

(01:45:17):
Fault so, anyway that's WHAT i wanted to.

Speaker 2 (01:45:20):
Say all, Right Thanks.

Speaker 1 (01:45:21):
Ivan SOMETIMES i wonder a little.

Speaker 6 (01:45:24):
Bit if you know a player who has so many natural,
talents if you, know as you get early in your,
career you don't put as much time into the nuance
in the small, places because in college you can beat
just about everybody because you're six or five layser rocket
arm and can run for.

Speaker 1 (01:45:39):
Days SO i wonder if this is going to be
part of the.

Speaker 3 (01:45:41):
Evolution, WELL i THINK i think it's something That ivan
said kind of made me, think AND i Think vrabel
is working on it With break and that is being that.
Leader you, know we do a lot of stuff here
behind the, scenes marketing stuff and community, stuff and you
know some of it, is you, know demanding of the player's,

(01:46:02):
time and you Know drake gets of course asked to
do a. Lot AND i heard, that you, know he
was very cautious about doing too much and being out
there too much before he's done anything on the, Field
like he didn't feel comfortable like always being in the
media life when he hasn't really had the success in the.
Field and you wonder if that kind of translates to

(01:46:26):
how he relates to his, play LIKE i don't feel
LIKE i should be the guy Until i've proven it
BUT i Think vrabel's working on, him like, no, no
you have to be the, guy have the confidence that
you will do, it don't worry about, it and demand
it from your teammates as. Well SO i just wonder
if that is something, Well ivan might be onto something.

Speaker 6 (01:46:48):
There that's why WHEN i talked about the postgame with
McCarthy yesterday and the way the team rallied around, him
Like drake may getting that moment with this TEAM i
think would be huge for. Him and regardless of WHAT
jj McCarthy's performance really was or, wasn't it's just being
able to have the team rally around you like. That
now he's going to go into next, week you, know more.
Confidence and the more we heard about his performance of you,

(01:47:09):
know throwing the pick six and then still you, know
going to his defense being LIKE i got, YOU i got.
YOU i, MEAN i got to admit, though when that
game was, starting he had like total HEART o face
on the whole, time like he was just you, know
trying to like just, Look i'm the, focus serious, Guy
AND i was, like this.

Speaker 1 (01:47:24):
Is going to go one of two.

Speaker 6 (01:47:25):
Ways either he's trying too hard or this is really
kind of who this kid is and early on ESPECIALLY
i saw the next morning On twitter when it just
feeds you back what everyone tweeted in the first half
when he's playing, terrible but you, know he was able
to pull it out in the, end AND i think
that's just a great start for his. CAREER a lot
of work to. Go he was up and down In
minnesota WHEN i saw him, too so we'll, see but no,
question that was a great start for.

Speaker 1 (01:47:46):
Him and love to get like that.

Speaker 4 (01:47:48):
Could happen this week For, Drake like If drake wins
In miami and you know when the post, Game babe's
gonna be, like this team hasn't won here since this,
time and YadA, YadA and we are a hard time
in this and now division win on the.

Speaker 6 (01:47:59):
Road this is you, know you know that this has
the opportunity to be that For drake if he plays,
well and hopefully he, DOES.

Speaker 3 (01:48:05):
I know he can come back to conquering hero like
he got us off the schneide Against tua and, yeah you,
know you, know a drought against The dolphins as a, whole.

Speaker 6 (01:48:15):
And a division win on the road, too which is you,
know just great for the.

Speaker 1 (01:48:17):
TEAM i mean that's you, know a huge.

Speaker 2 (01:48:19):
P, absolutely like everything, changes it's just one.

Speaker 1 (01:48:22):
Way that's the beauty of THE. Nfl it's like it's
so weak to, weak that's this.

Speaker 6 (01:48:27):
Morning it's like it's seventeen eighteen weeks of just we're the,
best were the, Worst we're the best the.

Speaker 4 (01:48:31):
Worst that's what makes it so compelling to watch and
follow and talk about sort of ride the roller coaster with.
It that's WHY i you, know when you were, Gone,
mike where you got a call it's like sort of
being critical of the, show our show for being so
the sky is, falling AND i was, LIKE i. Don't
they said you were the only possibly with the only positive,

(01:48:52):
voice AND i was, like you, Know fred opened the
show yesterday by guaranteeing a win In.

Speaker 1 (01:48:56):
MIAMI i pounded at the table.

Speaker 4 (01:48:59):
AND i just would say that if all the things
that you guys are talking, about like the opportunity With Drake,
may if that, happens if The patriots got out and
win this, week should we go on the show after
that for the postgame show and say we got the.

Speaker 1 (01:49:11):
Guy it's just one, week don't get too.

Speaker 4 (01:49:14):
Excited, yeah we'll be, right we'll Be let's wait Till
october Or november before we you, know we get some
some of a sample and we understand which direction we're.
Going don't get too excited about this. Win, no we're
going to be excited in the postgame, show just like
we were disappointed after The raiders loss in the postgame.
SHOW i hope what helps us do what we do
is just that we would say this is, great he did.

(01:49:35):
This but you know, what here's a couple of things
that aren't quite you. KNOW i, mean that's just the
fair and. Balance it's not going to ever be. Perfect
but you, know there's no.

Speaker 1 (01:49:43):
Can be, precise be.

Speaker 4 (01:49:44):
Precise not every one is going to be a referendum
on the entire. Sea and everybody tries to make it
out that. Way AND i don't make fun of anybody
for doing. It that's the nature of THE. Nfl that's
why the the networks have these shows Every monday in
THE nfl. Season it's Overreaction. Monday and you, know you
have different. Things you, know was that real or just

(01:50:06):
a one week one off? Runoff you, know a one?
Off you don't, know but you have an, opinion you,
KNOW i think a lot of people Think miami's dead
based off of based off of the week, right they played.
Poorly they look like the wheels are coming. Off looks
like this could be the end of The mike McDaniel

(01:50:26):
era In. Miami, yeah it might not. Be but like
you're asked now to take a snapshot of what you've
seen and what you think might be. Happening it's the
nature of.

Speaker 3 (01:50:38):
Uge Ellen wisconsin writes IN i can't Believe fred thinks
that either One Tom brady is the ONLY nfl quarterback
or Two Tom brady was nothing special because everyone should
be consistently.

Speaker 1 (01:50:48):
Accurate now you know what it. Is you're a.

Speaker 3 (01:50:50):
Moron you don't. Listen that's not What i'm. Saying i'm, saying,
yes EVERY nfl quarterback should have a modicum of, accuracy,
Absolutely but to say THAT i think that the only
Reason Tom brady was successful was because he was accurate is. Stupid,
okay there's a lot of other things About Tom brady's
game that made him great besides his, accuracy which was

(01:51:13):
also part of. It So, elle stick that in Your
wisconsin cheese and eat.

Speaker 1 (01:51:18):
IT, Whoa so there you, go there you.

Speaker 4 (01:51:22):
Go Fred kirsh has come in hot this week. Period
he was hot, yesterday, today people don't. Snap AND i
JUST i have to, say Like Tom brady was just
so clutch like he when the game was on the.

Speaker 6 (01:51:35):
Line the guy was nails every. Time and that is,
what if, anything you want to boil it down to
one single, thing that's how he won so.

Speaker 1 (01:51:44):
Many appear he had the. Answers but see that's the
other thing, too about like this whole drake taking the short.

Speaker 6 (01:51:49):
Step LIKE i do think it requires some mental toughness
and stamina to consistently read the defense and know and
and you, Know paul AND i were talking about with
The superman thing of you not feeling like you need
to make the plays to be satisfied with taking what
the defense gives.

Speaker 1 (01:52:08):
You AND i think it's hard for.

Speaker 6 (01:52:09):
A lot of these guys who were used to making
big plays and splash plays and you, know celebrating. It it's,
HARD i, think for them to commit to that. Approach
and you, know To evan's, point it's not as much
physical as it is processing it and.

Speaker 1 (01:52:21):
Being meant to do it.

Speaker 2 (01:52:22):
Continually, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:52:25):
Mark's In New York. City what's?

Speaker 7 (01:52:26):
Up?

Speaker 1 (01:52:26):
Mark By.

Speaker 5 (01:52:28):
Fellas my question sort of piggybacks off the last email you,
read but it's it's a little bit. Broader So i'm just,
wondering how does this offense. Improve you, know the receivers
can't get separation and we can't establish the run. Game
so if neither of those aspects of the offense, improved
it makes it that much harder for the other to.
Do Uh, So i'm just kind of, wondering, like you,
know based on what you know About josh McDaniel's offensive

(01:52:50):
schemes in the, past is there some, simple reasonable adjustment
that we can expect him to uh get.

Speaker 3 (01:52:57):
SEE i don't know if it's if it's we talked
about it. Earlier it could be just as simple as
you just got to play.

Speaker 1 (01:53:02):
Better you got to. Execute you can't drop the, ball Pop.
Douglas you've got to run the right. Route you got
to you know.

Speaker 4 (01:53:08):
It push back on the receivers not creating. SEPARATION i
think they were.

Speaker 1 (01:53:10):
Open, yeah they were open. Guys so quitter back wasn't accurate. Enough.
Right if that doesn't, improve the offense won't.

Speaker 4 (01:53:15):
Improve.

Speaker 3 (01:53:16):
Great don't anticipate getting, hit anticipate guys getting open and
throwing the ball where they're going to be instead of
where they.

Speaker 4 (01:53:23):
ARE a run game has the potential to be. BETTER
i still think that that's the best position group on the.
Roster and it's not all on the running. Backs they're
getting hit in the backfield, consistently both of. Them, yeah On,
Sunday stevenson And henderson never really had a. Chance if
that needs to be, better if.

Speaker 3 (01:53:38):
The elements of the, OFFENSE i you, know and you
guys can. DISAGREE i think if every element of the
offense played like ten to fifteen percent better than they
did On, sunday you win that.

Speaker 1 (01:53:47):
Game maybe, yeah maybe you.

Speaker 4 (01:53:49):
KNOW i, Mean i'm not gonna, YEAH i only have five.
Minutes i'm going to tell you The raiders would have
kept scoring if they needed.

Speaker 1 (01:53:54):
To BUT i don't.

Speaker 4 (01:53:55):
Know but The patriots offense is absolutely capable of playing
better than what we saw On.

Speaker 1 (01:54:00):
Sunday, yeah and actually a logical.

Speaker 3 (01:54:02):
So it it looked in the second, half it looked
like you were miles, away but in, reality you're really.

Speaker 1 (01:54:08):
Not you're really.

Speaker 3 (01:54:09):
Not it's just a matter of just doing things a
little bit. Better, yeah And i'm talking about. Everything i'm
talking about the, Line i'm talking about Coaching drake, receivers
run it running. Backs so, yeah it keep, calm carry,
On we'll beat The. Dolphins, yeah, thanks Thanks.

Speaker 6 (01:54:27):
MARK i think back a lot to That chiefs game
in fourteen when The patriots, lost and you, KNOW i
remember breaking the film, down but going, back it was
one of the first TIME i remember looking at and being,
like they just didn't play. Good they just didn't play.
Good they're better than, This they're a better team than.
This but it's just one of those. Nights AND i
think that that, happens and sometimes people, just you, know
they want to jump what is?

Speaker 1 (01:54:46):
It what does it mean for the grand?

Speaker 6 (01:54:48):
Scheme the same thing might be true for The dolphins this,
Week LIKE i just think to have played really, Bad
LIKE i don't think he's going to miss that throw
again next, week especially at. Home so it's just it's
hard to know what the real problems are and what
were the problem from that day and just were this
guy was playing bad and we didn't Quite.

Speaker 4 (01:55:03):
Yeah and it's funny like that Fourteen i'm going to
admit to have been shaken by that start and not
The Kansas city, game but the. Month there was a
very underrated thing that happened in the second half of
that blowout THAT i think had an impact on the
rest of the season, positively and that Was Brandon.

Speaker 6 (01:55:21):
Fell, yeah dragging the guy in the end break attack.

Speaker 4 (01:55:24):
And then all of a sudden in the fourth, quarter
he got it, Like, OKAY i get this. Offense NOW
i can make some plays in this. Offense and he
became a really important part of the. Attack i'm not
telling you that brand New fel carried.

Speaker 1 (01:55:35):
Them that's not What i'm. Saying please don't like see.

Speaker 4 (01:55:38):
That BUT i think that they were lacking on offense
because they didn't have enough, OPTIONS i, think and then
he emerged as an. Option, yeah and that sort of
helped balance things. OUT i think the emotion of what
they did For, brady you know from mcgronk crying after
The cincinnati, game not, crying but very. Emotional but we
wanted twelve to look like twelve, again right when they

(01:56:01):
Brought cincinnati in here and took them to the, woodshed,
RIGHT a lot of. Stuff, YEAH i think back to
those kinds of, Things AND i Know mike was bored with,
it BUT i. Wasn't, YEAH i, KNOW i was just.
Kidding you weren't bored with.

Speaker 1 (01:56:13):
THEM i was living my best. Life they won The Super,
bowl so you weren't.

Speaker 6 (01:56:16):
WELL i, mean and you know mentioned that catch against
The ravens in the playoffs FOR lafl being perfect droll By,
brady but first touchdown against The seahawks and The Super,
bowl he became a big part of.

Speaker 1 (01:56:24):
It, yeah one more, email but before we do.

Speaker 3 (01:56:26):

Speaker 1 (01:56:49):

Speaker 3 (01:56:51):
Pats dante, writes AND i agree that it's not just
the offense that's the problem with the, team and it's
very easy to sit on the couch and say what
the offense should have, done.

Speaker 1 (01:57:00):
Switching to the.

Speaker 3 (01:57:01):
Defense should we be worried about the time That Terrell
williams is missing away from the team in his first
season ever as a D C i read a report
today that he's missing more time not related to medical.
Issues well that that's not totally. Accurate he's going to
miss more time for. Tests so, yeah so we assume

(01:57:22):
it does have something to do with, health but we
don't know exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:57:25):
What, yeah and it's not an ideal.

Speaker 6 (01:57:27):
Situation if you have to be in this, situation having
experienced all of the spring up until training camp With
Zach corr calling the defense and really doing a lot
of the heavy, lifting it could be, worse be worse
not to have a guy like that.

Speaker 3 (01:57:41):
Around what do you think the chances are Of abel
taking over those.

Speaker 2 (01:57:46):
DUTIES i don't think he.

Speaker 6 (01:57:48):
WILL i think he trusts that. Core he's been with
him for a. While Zat corp has been all over
this defense from the get. GOING i Think Mike rabele's
got too much to worry about right now with the
new team and trying to keep everything headed in the
right direction to if he extracts himself and it's just
focused on the, DEFENSE i.

Speaker 1 (01:58:03):
Don't think it's a great.

Speaker 4 (01:58:04):
Thing AND i think if he if he, DOES i
don't think we'll, Know yeah he's calling the.

Speaker 1 (01:58:09):
Defense, YEAH i don't think.

Speaker 2 (01:58:10):
He'll, well he just turned to the.

Speaker 4 (01:58:11):
FEEL i don't think he announced he'd announced that that
he was calling the. Place, YEAH i just.

Speaker 1 (01:58:18):
Wanted to like functionality of Like Terrell williams like to
be up in the. Booth is you, know is That
core up there?

Speaker 7 (01:58:22):
Now is he? Still?

Speaker 4 (01:58:22):
Yeah we'll see. Now maybe On.

Speaker 1 (01:58:24):
Friday he did say On friday he'd shed some light
on what it.

Speaker 4 (01:58:26):
Was maybe he'll, Say, i'm you, KNOW i just keeping
we felt like keeping everybody in their jobs And i'm
just calling the. Plays maybe that's what he thinks is
the most simplistic way to do. It BUT i would
anticipate What mike. Said Zach Krer all.

Speaker 3 (01:58:39):
Right well that's going to be it for This wednesday
edition Of Patriots, unfiltered but we'll be back tomorrow at
noon with Our thursday edition more of your, calls, emails
