Speaker 1 (00:00):
Came together as a team.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
We've been working during the all seasons, so it's just
like it's just flowing together and were putting the pieces together.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
You know, the team said they had a plan for you,
but to see the plan and action giving you tom today,
you were getting an extra time on offense yesterday. It
goes with the defense coaches.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
Just what does that like for you?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
It's just a blessing.

Speaker 5 (00:16):
You know.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
They actually trust me and they put in a lot
on my plate. But I just gotta go out there
and continue to attack the work that they give me.

Speaker 6 (00:22):
So does your day end later than everybody else's day
because you got extra meetings and stuff like? Are you
the last guy out of the building just because you
got the extra stuff to do?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Nah?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
No, it's the same as everybody else. But I just
got a little bit of actually work on my plate
and I just continue to switch between the meetings.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
How organized is your.

Speaker 6 (00:39):
Schedule minute to minute from you knowing where you need
to be helping make it out part of easier for you.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
I super organized.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Me and coach go over there pretty much every week
and they send me a picture and I get a
piece of paper to keep it my locker, so I
know exactly where I gotta be and when I need
to be there.

Speaker 7 (00:53):
Is it more complicated?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Less complicated than doing the same thing in college? H No,
I was about to say.

Speaker 6 (00:59):
Did you enjoying first day on defense?

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Stay?

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I'm sure you were like eager to.

Speaker 6 (01:03):
Get over there.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
I enjoyed it, But I just need to be be
on the field a lot more so I can continue
to learn the defense and continue to do what I
need to do with your.

Speaker 6 (01:12):
Offense that you know they put you on offense firstly,
that you can kind of pick that up first. How
confident are you that you've got most of that off.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Lord, I'm super confident.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I'm super confident is what I'm doing in the progress
that I'm making.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
How was the vacation?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
I saw the video from the Bahamas.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Look like you guys had a lot of fun out there.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yeah, it was great, And like I said, we were
just gonna out there, getting to work in and just
chilling with the guys.

Speaker 7 (01:33):
How much of a connection were you able to get
with Trevor over those last few weeks just in the
Bahamas here in Jacksonville working.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Out a lot a lot of stuff that y'all don't see.
We put in the work behind the scenes and we
continue to work every day.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
How did they come about the.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Now? We had a shoot together, so we just made
up someone on the slot.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
How important is you know?

Speaker 7 (01:53):
Those team bonding off the field type of things just
when you go into a.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Season, super important.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Like I said, it's a lot of people that you
can you can't talk any type of way too, So
you just.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Gotta fill each other out.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
They gotta understand who you talking to and who you're
speaking to so they understand you and where you're coming from.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Or a teammate Jimmy Warren Junior, what.

Speaker 6 (02:08):
Makes him so special?

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:10):
He he's a he's a ball player. He loved the
game and he he's fast.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
He's fast. It's he's faster than you know.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
He's ever kind.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
We never race. So I'm.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Do you know Coroy or have you heard.

Speaker 6 (02:21):
Of Koy Parrish?

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Kid it? Uh?

Speaker 3 (02:23):
I think it's Minnesota.

Speaker 6 (02:24):
He's a safety. He's gonna now be a two way
guy like you. You kind of like the groundbreaker for that.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Have you heard of him at all?

Speaker 4 (02:29):
And at all?

Speaker 3 (02:30):
No?

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Nah, I haven't.

Speaker 6 (02:32):
What do you think about being the guy that now
everyone's gonna look at and be like, that's the example.
It can be done at the big college level. So
you know, let's give other guys a shot.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I mean, I just hope they go out there and
just continue to uh do what they need to do.
I mean, I'm I'm not gonna say I'm the groundbreaker
because it's a lot of people before me that have
done it. I just did it to a certain extent
that nobody else did it.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
What's the hardest part of doing that that people don't
know about.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
The uh just the work that you put in and
when they try to criticize, it's like, I'm already doing
all this extra work. You're gonna keep telling me I
can't do the same thing that I've been doing and
showing you. So it's just that a lot of people
just keep down playing us. But I'm gonna just be quiet,
just go to work.

Speaker 6 (03:06):
If that doesn't annoy you.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
When you're gonna keep hearing all the doubters at all,
no actually make me smile because I they just they
don't know what to say, so they just gonna keep
haying for you.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
For the juggling between those sides. Is it harder right now?
Physically or mentally.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
I probably say mentally because you gotta got two playbooks
and you gotta do different terms each and every day,
so that I say the playbook.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
Who you have turned to for advice defensively?

Speaker 4 (03:29):
Player wise?

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Uh? Player wise? I mean all the guys are there
to help me.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Either, it don't matter when I come out a sign
or if I'm in the meeting rooms, They're there to
help me. So all the guys in each room, they
they come and try to help me as much as
they can.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Said a lot of.

Speaker 7 (03:43):
Positive things to say about you. What's it been like
just his veteran leadership and being around him?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Uh, Jay, little hill old head. So it's it's pretty fun.
And like, just learn from the guys that's been here,
been doing it for a long time, so I called him.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
He's like an uncle of me. So they've been here
for a long time.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
So I'm just gonna follow their footstuff and listen to
the advice they to give me.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Did you feel in the frustration from the rest of
yours today? Did I feel any frustration? I mean, I don't.
I don't know what they feeling.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I just hope they over there just continue to work
and making progress every day, and when you're from up
for practice on defense and all, well, when you get
different compare for practice mentality wise or there or nah,
I just go in there, be ready to work and
be ready to make progress and continue to work.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
So you have to you know, over experia checks.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
So like, would you like to go to flift and switch.

Speaker 7 (04:31):
In your brain when you're gone that you may.

Speaker 6 (04:33):
Offenses you done?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Uh in the meeting rooms, Yes, it's definitely a flip.
It's a it's a switch that you got a flip
because the terms are different and it's different plays, but
you know it's different formations that the defense called it
a different thing from what the offense call it. So
in the meeting room, yes, but when I hit the field,
it's all the same to me.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I just go to work.

Speaker 6 (04:49):
Would you at the beginning, did I give you.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Kind of a a go to Nah, I no headache,
it just got I just know I had to get
in my books.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Where you have practices eventually where you're doing both in
the same practice.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Well, yeah, well we will.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
I just have to get to that point to where
I understand both sides immediately.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
When you were at Colorado, did you do practice on
both sides of the ball every day, or where there
were offense day's defense.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Ve Nah, I practice on both sides every day every day.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
So yeah, do you like this approach this way a
little bit better?

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Uh? Yeah, so I can.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yeah, I need to be able to progress everything fast quick.
If the offense changed on it on the defensive. When
I'm on the defense, as far as the offense change
the strength, I gotta know what I'm doing right away.
And if the offensive we change the play, I gotta
know what I'm doing right away. So I like that
we starting off slow, getting me adjusted, making sure I
know where I need to be on one side of
the ball each day, and then it all come together.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
I bet you needed to see the field more. What
would you say is the biggest area where you want
to see growth out of yourself over these next few weeks.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Uh, just technique on defense side of the ball as
well as the office side of the bar. And make
sure that I'm my technique is up the park so
the coaches can trust me more and make sure I
know my place all right?

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Thank you?

Speaker 7 (05:56):
Is that Brian Thomas You're was for a little bit.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Yeah, he's had a little back spasm. Yeah, just a
little tight back.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
He'll be all right with with Brian, and then kind
of the offense overall. When you have a day like today,
how do you kind of talk to them and get
them back on track.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know necessarily think it was
a bad day. It's just we didn't make any plays.
You know, like, we got a ton of opportunities to
make plays. When the ball's in the air, we got
to make those plays. And whether it's ball placement, whether
it's you know, making a play when the ball's in
the air, it's got to be ours. So, you know,
I thought we ran it pretty well at times today
in terms of just getting on the right targets and
hitting the runs the right way. So it was a balance.

(06:33):
But more so I think they understand that we got
to go make those plays.

Speaker 7 (06:36):
Would have been your question.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
To thanks, Yeah, I think he last you know, a
few days, he's you know, just continuing to get used
to the runs. Right, there's mid zone, wide zone gap, right,
just getting used to the flow of those runs.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
What's the intent of those runs?

Speaker 5 (06:51):
I thought he did a nice job over the last
few days to kind of, hey, making good second level
cuts and getting vertical.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
So I've been pleased with him so far.

Speaker 6 (06:58):
Are you guys limiting in Armston a little bit?

Speaker 5 (07:00):
Yeah, just a little bit, you know, just trying to
get him into the swing of it with you know,
individual and stuff like that. No, just you know, you know,
just kind of giving him a little bit of a
veteran start.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
Yeah, he's just going.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
To be out for a few days, you know, day
to day right now, we're just kind of figuring it
out for how would you how.

Speaker 7 (07:22):
Do you think he's handled having offensive dates, having defensive dates,
just the rhythm of that.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
So I think he's it's uh, it's weird.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
It's probably harder I mentioned this before, like logistically for
us as coaches to navigate it and make sure that
we're making use of all this time. It's I think
he doesn't bother him as much, you know. I mean,
he's he's pretty unfazed by some of some of this stuff.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
So, you know, these next few.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Days will be very important though, because he was on
defense today, we will have been off day tomorrow, you know,
making sure that he's ready to go for for the
next few days. So, uh, he'll have to use this
weekend off day tomorrow as well to make sure that
he's studying offensive stuff. So he's been great in terms
of his attitude and and just kind of the way
he approaches it for the.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Defense to not have buster and you see a couple
of those young guys Jarring technificih and yesterday to make
plays like that. Just what does that mean?

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Yeah, it's huge. I mean we need depth, right, we
need competition. You know, I thought Tyson had a really
nice day again today. Jordan Lewis had another good day today,
so you know, and I love you know, Jarring's got
the right energy, the way, the way that he approaches it,
I really have appreciated. So it's great to get those guys,
you know, quality reps.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
Travis hesitant today, first thing on the defense a little
bit out there or did you have a chance to
really I didn't really notice.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
Yeah, I didn't really notice. You know, it's like so
often in.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Defense, especially in scripted stuff.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
You know, you know, you're not always sure where the
ball is going to go, and you know some so
often as a DV, the ball may not come your
way for numerous plays. So you're just kind of working
your own technique and fundamentals. But I'll ask the defensive
guys and be able to watch the tape and have
a better idea.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
What was your first reaction and checking my picture.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
Of Lord talk, Yeah, I mean with one hand as well,
that was I mean, thank god it hit him in
the chest.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
You know, it got tipped like we were, he was
throwing the ball down the field.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
The parker gets tipped right in the right in the
Chad's hands. So you know, those are the moments where
you're you're pissed at first, and then hey, good job chat.
So you know, I think we've just had too many
tip balls in general over the last few days. Whether
it's the old lion's got to get their hands down, quarterbacks,
eyes have to be better because you know that's happened

(09:31):
a few times now.

Speaker 6 (09:32):
You mentioned that a bunch, you know, like when you
office does something you get, you're good.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
You're side, the.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Defense does something good, you're mad.

Speaker 6 (09:38):
Yeah, Like, do you think you're ever going to get
after that?

Speaker 4 (09:41):
Yeah? Who knows, man, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
I it's it has to be that way though, right
Like at the end of the day, I am calling
the plays on offense. I am responsible for all sides,
but specifically that's something that I'm you know, a little
bit more invested in that way. So there's definitely a
little bit more personal on the ice script the plays,
so I get a litt bit more pissed when they
don't work.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
You were kind of stars.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Parker had a really good start. I've been pleased with
Parker man.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
I think he's if you're talking about guys that's gone
up and made plays when the ball's been in the air,
he's done it, and you know, he's got the right mindset.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
He approaches work the right way every day. He's strong.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
You know, he can kind of work second level releases
on people when they try to get hands on him.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
I've been very pleased with Parker the last few days.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
It's only been three days.

Speaker 7 (10:26):
Can you appreciate a different vibe when Travis has an
offensive day versus a defensive day?

Speaker 5 (10:30):
Yeah, I think, you know, you definitely feel it a
little bit just because we're offensively just by nature, maybe
a little bit more of a quieter group just in general,
and so when he is over there, there's just a
little bit more you know. I don't want to call
it life because they I thought they were focused today,
wasn't that. It's just you know, he does have a
little bit of a vibe around him, and so it

(10:52):
does help kind of create that on offense and.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Brings a little bit of juice for sure.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Hankle had a couple of good catches today. Just what
have you seen out of him so far?

Speaker 4 (11:02):
Yeah, Eli has worked his tail off.

Speaker 5 (11:03):
He's strong, he's physical, He's got to continue to work
on flexibility and just kind of being able to be
loose as an as an athlete playing the receiver position.
He's worked his tails off, his tail off on special
teams as well.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
So he wants to do right.

Speaker 5 (11:18):
He looks you in the eye when you're coaching him.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
He's a good kid.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
And kind of the same thing with Joshua. See as
he had to catch us right, we think he fully
extended for it in seven.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Yeah, josh has made a few plays.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
You know, he's got to get get in shape right now.
You know, he's got he's got to get himself into
shape and make sure that he's not you know, the
next guy up in those instances where we have to
sub you know, he's got to be the one ready
to go right now. So, you know, been pleased with
some of the plays though that he has made.

Speaker 7 (11:45):
You talked about this during the offseason, but what do
you really look for from the offensive line during this
kind of setting before pats come off?

Speaker 5 (11:52):
So much is about communication, Like all we really want
to make sure is we break in the huddle the
right way, which we started to elapse as the practice went.
Are we attacking the line of scrimmas the right way?
Are we getting up there and communicating all five and
more to the tight ends, quarterback back, all those things
at a high level, right And just making sure that

(12:14):
we're targeting the run game properly, which I thought we
did a better job of today in general, just not
having a you know, unblocked player because of a mistargeting issue.
I thought we targeted our runs better today. And also
they're responsible for the protections in a lot of ways
with Trevor, So just the communication playing as a group,
because you can't ultimately see the full physicality scale right now.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
It's a fall up to that because he's almost the
most frustrating part of camp.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Would all the off season work and that just wanting
to get those.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
Paths that's right.

Speaker 5 (12:45):
Yeah, a lot of the guys you could tell, you
know what the pads on. They just kind of want
to get to that point. It feels like we've been
in T shirt shorts for.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
A long time now, and they're right, they are. It's
not quite football. It's still not.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
I mean, football is, as we all know, a very
physical game and it's meant to be played that way,
and ultimately you can't really do it until you get
the pads on.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
More guys, all good. Oh, my wife's finger is good.
She yeah.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
We had a cooking class and sliced it open and
went to a hospital and emergency room in Capri, which
was quite an experience. Twenty five euro and you're on
your way, so we're all good. I appreciate it though,
Thanks guys,
