Speaker 1 (00:00):
I like to be named to the top fifty players
in franchise history. Pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
You know, I haven't really taken my time here for
granted at all, so it's it's quite an honor to
be part of that.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Going on.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
That was with John right, I know, you guys overlapped
for that one training camp and you've talked about like
what a good looking metory he was. Is of course
of him going and saying, yeah, no, that was definitely cool.
Two punters on there.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
You're kind of an old man around here now, being
here as long as you are. How do you know
it's crazy going into my eighth year.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
I still feel like my rookie season was like a
season ago.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
You know.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
I come out here and think about, you know, that
rookie mini camp where I was, you know, locked in,
taking it super serious.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
And I still feel like I'm like that today.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Like I said earlier, like I haven't taken any of
my time here for granted, doing everything I can to
leave here, leave, you know, when the time comes, leave
with no regrets.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
So I'm doing everything. Certain players will their off season
year to year will change with the physicality or something
like that.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
What when you look back.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Was eight years. How does your off season change or
does it change? Yeah, no, it definitely does. You know, I'll.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Take more time off after the season from hunting just
to let my body in those certain areas fully recover,
keep my lifting the same. But in seasons where I
like have the biggest changes from year to year, I
try and take something from every year, whether it's a
lesson that I learned in that year mentally or physically.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Or skill wise.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Each year I should be better than I was the last,
just because you know, I don't want to have any
repeat years. I want to like improve in in some
way in every year and every game.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
So yeah, constantly trying to improve. What would you want
to grove on going into Europe?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I mean, you can just get better at everything, but
it's more just having the right mentality when something doesn't
go your way, to be able to look at it objectively,
to be able to be unphased by whatever it gets
thrown at you in a game. I'll always really try
and pride myself on that, to be to be unphased

(02:26):
by anything and still execute at a high level.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
What was your reaction to finding out that there's gold
to be NFL games? I was pumped.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
I was pumped, and then the Seahawks got their Australian licensing,
so I'm like, I can kind of see the future.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Maybe the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Playing in Australia one day would be like dream dream
come true.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
So figure out. Yeah, yeah, I know I need to
need to get onto someone. You do you still go
back there, like in the off season or how much
have you spent it? Yeah? I spent about like ten
weeks there a year.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
I'll normally go back twice a year and spend time
at home and see family and friends and everything.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
How much have you seen interested in the American football
grow there just at the time you've been in the league.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
It's kind of hard to tell. I mean from my perspective,
it's grown a lot. But I don't know if that's
just because I'm playing in the NFL now and I
look out for it more, But it seems like it's
grown a lot.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
You know.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
My family will always have people saying that they watched
it religiously and love it because most of the games
will be on like a Monday morning in Australia, so
people will get up early and watch the game.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Yeah, I think it's definitely grown. Do you watch arc
Rows and your favorite team? Yeah, I do.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
I sign up for like an Australian football subscription to
watch watch my team. I go for Collingwood Magpies. They're
killing it, so that's good.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
You were sending out videos or how you got Texas.
I think it was video YouTube videos they got Texas
and personal.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, so I was part of like kicking program and
they were sending you know, they had contacts in American
college football. So then you know, I just was punting
at a local field, no helmet or pads, and they
just took his word that that I had what it
took to play at Texas and they invited me for

(04:26):
my official visit and that's when they offered me.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
If someone has said you're gonna have an eight year
NFL career, you have probam for a couple of time tracks.
If I don't know, I don't know. I think that
that was always it was always the dream.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
It was always that was My purpose in college was
to play the best I could to play in the NFL.
But yeah, eight years, Yeah, I don't know if I
would have thought i'd be, you know, playing at a
high level for that long, but yeah, each each time
I I kind of achieve a goal, the goal just

(05:06):
gets higher. So it'll be fun to look back one day.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Did you follow the NFL much as a kid.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
No, The first, like, the first American football game I've
watched from start to finish was the first one I
played in in college, and then the first NFL game
I watched was actually I watched the Super Bowl once
and then yeah, since then, been watching

Speaker 1 (05:31):
It anything else can expect, all right, appreciate it.
