Speaker 1 (00:03):
Your tunes about drive on your twenty four to seven
home of the Black and Goal Steelers Nation Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Good evening, Steeler Nation. How we doing well? That's good
us too, our number two here on a Tuesday, Matt,
we're getting what nine days away from Thanksgiving? That's pretty crazy. Wow, yeah,
say out loud. It always happened. The fall always flies
by quick, summer flies by. It's September before you know it,
(00:52):
and then it's Halloween, and then it's Thanksgiving, and then
sand is sliding down the chimney, and then it's the
NFL postseason. I mean, it all happens in a blow.
It feels like, you know, like February to maybe April
May is the only slow time of the year anymore.
And we have obviously got plenty to talk about here.
You telling me during the break c J. Stroud has
(01:13):
actually been ruled out for a third straight week.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Schefter just said that, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
That's not great for him, that's not great for Texans.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
It is a Thursday, so it's a little bit different week, but.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
It makes sense. But he's that would be multiple games,
three the straight games that he would miss due to
that concussion. Hopefully he's all right. And it's you know,
nothing that's gonna That's one thing, man, Those concussions, Oh.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
You always worry and wonder and yeah, multiples and I
don't know how many's had before and those type of
things too, and.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
That stuff's scary, man, right, It's it's real scary.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
I Uh, they're staying alive too. I mean, it's not
time to bury them, but they were on the fringe there,
and it could go south real quick.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Yeah, I mean they're five and five, so they're teetering
right on that line. Yeah, hopefully everything's all right for him.
That's it. You know, you and I we always say
we don't like talking medical stuff. We're not doctors. I
just know, I don't know concussions might be at the
forefront of that conversation because even medical people and doctors,
there's still a lot of uncertainty around that.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
But it's come a long way, but still.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Certainly has And I you know, I I know some
people in fact, to two guys that I grew up
playing hockey with who went on to play professionally, one
in the NHL one in Europe, that are both dealing
now in their thirties in retirement with concussion stuff and
bran stuff, and it is scary, it is not fun,
and so hoping for all the best for CJ. Stroud.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
Yeah, it's real easy to be like, Oh, you know,
Sleigh has a concussion tribute back in a week. You know,
missed one game.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
I know, right, Yeah, it's not a torn hamstring or
a broken wrist.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
No, no, it's not the Ian Rodgers situation.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Absolutely, it's it's it's scary, and I do like how
we're I think more aware of that than ever before.
For sure, there's there's still so much unknown.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
I say, five to ten years from now, they may
even laugh at us as this is the Dark Ages.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Totally, Yeah, totally, Matt. Let's get to a little fantasy
fotball focus here on a Tuesday, take a look at
some waiver wire options, speaking of which, by the way,
can I think we both just need to say that
there was a certain wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys
who had a big night last night. Oh yeah, that
helped both of us win our fantasy football matchups this week.
(03:18):
And man, not looking good in Las Vegas as things
continue to spiral pretty terrible. Go South, Go South for
the Raiders, good lord, Matt. Let's talk some options here.
Remember for this waiver wire conversation, they must be owned
in less than sixty percent of leagues. NFL dot Com,
Yahoo Sports, and ESPN, I believe, are kind of the
(03:39):
three aggregate ones there that are used talk about quarterbacks.
Is it time to get back on the Brock party train?
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah, he played real well. He was drafted in every league.
He's done nothing wrong. Set miss time to not think
he's still the same high backup producer. You know. Now,
one thing I will say that we're getting to the
time of the year, especially if you're quarterback. You've Josh Allen,
he's had a bye. I might not be even keeping
(04:09):
a second one, you know, Like, just give me all
the running backs I can hang on to, because I
can pick up a Flacco or somebody like that if
disaster happens. But if I have no right, right, but
if I have no intentions of playing the guy, I'd
be less likely to pick up a quarterback as the
season goes on.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
All right, real quick, let me ask you a personal question. Yeah,
I've been doing this back and forth thing all season
between bow Knicks and my big money league that I
do with all my buddies from high school. This is
the twenty first season that we've had. We've had this league.
We started it when we were like sophomores in high
school two thousand. Actually, I think this is our twentieth
(04:48):
season because we started it in two thousand and six.
So yeah, I believe this is our twentieth season. I've
been going back and forth between Darnold.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
My thirtieth season.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Good for you?
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Maybe more? Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
So when you guys were started to it, were you
still like tabulating everything by hand and sort of?
Speaker 3 (05:04):
I mean, I'll take a second, just tell a quick story,
like we combined two leagues to make this one, and
they were and they're all people I went to high
school with. But the league that I that I came from,
that we combined them from. My buddy Sab would get
a Sporting News or you know USA Today on Tuesday,
(05:25):
handwrite every add them all up, handwrite every tally, stick
that thing in the mail, and two days later you
go to the mailbox if you won your game.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
That's so cool.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
I can't even remember how we did like waivers or.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Trades or oh that had to be.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
It wasn't digital. I could promise you that, right, I mean,
they don't know you tell you stories. You've been playing
I think even longer than me.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
He was probably playing fantasy baseball back in Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Yeah, fiddled with that, but that was even more work, right.
Football seemed easy at the time.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Like, especially with no Thursday night games back then, or
very very little Thursday night.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah that helps a little, but still you hope he
adds it upright.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
He probably didn't. Somebody's back in there fudging with the
numbers every single week.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
But he would lick a stamp and stick it on
there and get in your mailbox in a day or two.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Fantastic. That's like I was just talking with my you know,
my oldest daughter is four and a half now and
super into Christmas and the holidays and everything, as you
can expect, and I was trying to the other day.
We're sitting on the couch watching TV and every commercial
that comes on, she's like, Daddy, I want that for Christmas, Daddy,
I want that for Christmas.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Commercials are coming.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
And I was like, sweetheart, you're not used to this
whole watching commercials thing, you know, because normally you're just
normally you're on Disney Plus or YouTube or whatever stream
and everything. I was like back in my day, sweetheart,
we used to get the big J. C. Penny catalog,
the big Macy's catalog. Around Thanksgiving, You'd get that thing
in the mail and I would just circle thirty seven
different things in there, and here you go, mom, here's
(06:57):
my Christmas list.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Yeah, that's kind of how we did it.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
It was. It was good, good times back then. Good times.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Donald and bow Knicks rotator. The beginning of the year,
I was riding bow Knicks. Then I went then it
was like every week like bow Knicks would get me
fourteen points, but Donald was getting nineteen points.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Yeah. Yeah, Nick wasn't running as much as he had
been in rookie year.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
And then the last couple weeks, maybe like a month ago,
month and a half ago, I went to Sam Donald
and it was paying off big time.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
I bat down and say, you were probably pretty happy
with that.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
But then the last two weeks, Sam Donald's giving me nothing,
while bow Knicks has been okay. He hasn't been lighting
the world on fire. But I got no points from
Donald this week. He was he was negative two or
three for a while. He must go back back at
a zero and then the week before I think only
three or four points from him, whereas bo Knicks is
doing the consistent twelve or fourteen points a week type thing.
(07:51):
Is it time for me to go back to bow
Knicks or don't? Don't give up on Sam Donald just yet.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
That's in a situation I think i'd keep both. I
wouldn't just yeah, cut one absolutely and really just do it.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Matchup based off the defense, which is tough.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
I mean, it's a great way of looking at it,
but it doesn't always come to fruition. It's such an
unpredictable league's like, oh, that's a lay up defense. I
don't feel for you. Yeah, I feel for you a
little bit because it's easy to look at yourself like, man,
I lift more points on the bench yet again yeah, right.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Last quarterback one for you. Say you're someone who's really
in a bind this weekend, you need somebody desperately. Would
you go Jacoby Brissett or Joe Flacco. I guess I
should probably look at the matchups two for you to Yeah,
it doesn't realize it a little bit.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Well, no, Chase, Oh that's.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Enough for me to not.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
I don't know if Harrison comes back, but it didn't matter.
I mean, Brisett had forty seven.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
A little bit not more than both.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
They're going to have to make their money through the air.
I'd probably go Flacco in a vacuum. It's sort of
like rest of year. I don't know about this week
in particular, but rest year.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
What about the quarterback who had the second most points
in Fantasy football this past week, only behind Josh Allen,
Bryce Young.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
He was really good.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
He's another one. Though it feels like you'd start wagon,
there'll get you four points this week or something.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
I gotta bet there's fifteen others you'd prefer.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
I think so, Yeah, I think so. Running Backs Emmanuel
Wilson of the Packers, Sean Tucker of Tampa Bay, Kenneth
Gainwell of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tooton still available in more
than fifty percent of leagues. Any of those guys, I
think you should be in every league.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
And he looked really good this week against Chargers team
that really struggled against against the run, which makes me
think the Steeler should run more on them too. I think
he's a clear handcuff to atn and he's more than that,
so I think he should be in leagues all year.
Andy's looking better than ever.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Emmanuel Wilson will be an interesting one depending on what
just Jab is, That's the.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Thing, I mean, depending when your waiver claims or do
see what his situation is, because the backup doesn't get
much there. But if Jacob's in a lineup, I mean this,
he's the perfect guy. You know, when you cut your
backup quarterback, it's just a stash up totally, especially if
you have Jacobs. But not entirely. Tucker is the interesting
one because I thought he was really underraty coming out
(10:24):
of Syracuse. Like in some of my deep dynasty leagues,
I have him and where you know, some people don't
even have him in a league, you know, like because
I think he's talented and I don't have a lot
of respect for Rashaun White. They seem to like White
more than I do. But Bucky Irving practiced a little
last week. I'd be interested in Tucker, but it'd probably
(10:44):
have to be a deep.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
League wide receivers, two big names stand out to me
here that are available in more than sixty percent of leagues.
Alec Pierce of the Colts and now Darnell Mooney of
the Falcons with Drake London's status.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Mooney's done nothing this year and Cousins looks really shot.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
That was yeah, I'm I and I understand he hasn't
done anything all year, but I've looked I've been surprised
at how poor Kirk Cousins has looked when he's when
he's gotten in.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Some people ask like, well, if Rogers retires his cousin
be an option for the Steelers. I'm like, not if
he looks like anything like he does, Oh.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Right now, he's gonna have what six or seven games
to put some some better stuff on. Takee Roight.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
I mean his arm looks shot. He doesn't he hasn't
protect himself. Well, I think he could be done after
this year, So Mooney doesn't excite me. Pierce probably should
have been in every league, but he's coming off a buye.
Maybe he got dropped, you know, before his buy or
something like that to put him over the sixty percent threshold.
(11:49):
But he catches a lot of balls in a really
good offense, and he's gonna make a ton of money
this offseason as a free agent.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
So if you're if you're just desperate for volume there, yeah,
might be.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Playability right now, Pierce, I wouldn't have a problem starting Peers.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Tight ends Matt owned in forty seven percent of leagues.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Colson Loveland interesting, he looks really good. He went crazy
maybe against the Bengals against the.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Bank two weeks ago against the Bengals.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Asterix against the Bengals. Comet plays a lot and they
spread things around a lot. Burden's role really grew this
past week two where he's supplanted Zikias as the number
three receiver. So there's a lot of mouse to feed
in Chicago. Which we'll talk about throughout the week. Is
they're hard to defend. I mean at doonsay More, Burden, Loveland, Comet,
(12:46):
the Backs catch balls. We've caught a lot of balls
this past week. So it's a big pie. But it's
also a lot of slices of pie. So I who
I had, uh, what's his face? Aft from green Bay
and I picked up Loveland the other week because that's
all there was. Yeah, and I'm not thrilled with it,
(13:06):
but that's that's the kind of situation. Yeah, but he
looks good. I mean, I think they're really happy with him.
As an early first round tight end. Craft was towards
having him having in your league.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
I guess Craft was one of my late round steals
thanks to you.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
I love them.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Back in July and August, you were telling me how
how this guy was going to light it up. I
got him very late. He was huge for me. Fortunately
I was able to replace him with Travis Kelce, so
that's that worked out. Okay, But I think you could
do worse than Loveland, but you'd have to be in
a bit of a pinch.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Yeah. Yeah, and it's always a weird position, but he
could do well the second.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Half of There's a lot of boomer busts there, and
hopefully you'll get more boom than bust. Matt. Last one
for you defenses, and I want to put a personal
angle on this once again. I've got the Denver Broncos
defense in my big money league. Obviously they've done pretty
well for me this season, but they are on their
by this week, so.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
I'm try not to dump them, though I try to.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Oh, I'm holding on.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yeah, I dump a backup tight end or something.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Yes, I'm currently deciding if I go against which defense
I pick up. And there are two teams that are
playing against each other this weekend. Do I pick up
the Cleveland Browns defense and trust them to wreck the
Raiders offense? Do I pick up the Raiders defense and
anticipation Sanders and the Browns being very futile on offense.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Two exceptional pass rushers, so sacks are certainly a possibility.
Do we think Sador is gonna play?
Speaker 2 (14:38):
I think so. I would imagine again with the concussion
protocol stuff that, you know.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
But I'm taking the Browns over the Raiders because their
defense is way better and both offenses look bad. Even
though the Browns looks worse.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
And man is as rough as Shoudre Sanders looked. Gino
Smith continues to give away turnovers like he's working at
the local bakery.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I mean, jenty got six carries. They ran them all
tw times all night. I them scrambled. What are we
doing here?
Speaker 2 (15:03):
I don't understand. I realized they fell behind early in
that game, yeah, but still, I mean, it's just a
lot of head scratching going on in Vegas, and they're
one of the worst teams in the league. They certainly are,
And that's surprising because I don't think neither of us
picked them to go to the playoffs or anything like that.
But we didn't think they'd be this much of a
pushover either.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
I wonder if Carrol's want and done too. I think
there's a really good chance. Yeah, it hasn't gone at all.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
To play no, And it seems like they're the type
of organization that would, you know, blow things up and
really try and maybe grab some headlines and chart a
new path. There's your fantasy football focus for week twelve.
Already in the National Football League. We will get into
power rankings. Yeah, a little Tuesday power ranking time. Who's
(15:48):
at the top of the pecking order. I think I've
got a guess. I think they play Oh, yes, the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania about.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
I was thinking the Rams. Both those teams had big wins.
We will wait, and they had to be really high.
They should be the top two.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Will We will wait and see how the power rankings
play out when we return on the other side. Euler
Williamson The Drive on Steelers Nation Radio on the Steelers
Audio Network.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Your tunes about Drive on your twenty four to seven
home of the Black and Goals Steelers Nation Radio.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
All right, Matt, I want your best guests here. Thirty
second dead last on this week's power rankings, is it
the Titans are the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
I'm gonna go with the Raiders, and I think the
Titans have owned that spot. And I've been a little
critical that they haven't been thirty two every week, but
they at least played an acceptable team tight. But I
guess the Raiders did two weeks before that.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
As you mentioned, it's very weird to me because if
we just put the rosters on paper, the Raiders roster
is much better, a better football player, better football player. Right,
But in terms of if they were playing this Sunday
on a neutral location in Wichita, Kansas, right, I might
pick the Titans.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
I might pick the Titans too. Maybe there's a little
momentum there. There's nothing with the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
There's nothing. And you know, brock Bowers has been too quiet.
Gent he's been too quiet. Crosby's been too quiet.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Yes, who's their offense coordinator? Again?
Speaker 2 (17:35):
For the Raiders? Kelly?
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Should he be a only college guy? He seems really
good at one and really not good at the other. Yes,
I mean, I guess that's the short answer. It seems
like he should be an elite college coordinator Ohio State
or Oregon or like places he's been even a head coach,
Like I'm even a good coach.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
I'm surprised he hasn't gone back to that. Well.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Oh, he's the highest picked coordinator in the league, in
the NFL.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
In history, which is crazy, right.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
I was shocked that that was who that is. I mean,
not these not that I thought it was a bad
hire at the time.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
To be honest, Don't get me wrong. Sometimes this line
of logic drives me nuts in in college football because
a lot of people have money, a lot of people
have five star rosters. You know, LSU has a top
ten most expensive roster in college football this year. Look
at where they're at, Penn State. Yeah, look at it now.
More often than not, the teams that are up there
are the teams that are there. You know, Texas and Texas,
(18:31):
A and M and Ohio State.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Like Ohio State spent some money over the year.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
But I also look at it last year and I'm like,
look at that Buckey's roster. Look at the offensive line.
Two running backs that were drafted, a Mecca Abuka first
round pick, Jeremiah Smith, who's going to be a top
five pick. You know, you had Will Howard who was
who was drafted. And I'm like, any offensive coordinator, good
offensive coordinator can win a national championship with that roster.
But yeah, maybe not. But man for being the highest
(18:57):
paid coordinator in the NFL, it's got to look I
don't know, yeah, and I.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Just wonder if he's destined for college only.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Oh, there's nothing wrong with it, right, It's like.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Some of those guys just needed to stay with Bill Belichick. Yes,
you know McDaniels and Patricia Charlie Weiss, like, just stay
with Bill Belichick. It's fine, there's nothing wrong with that
the NFL.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
But did Lebau have any regrets about his career? I'm
sure he didn't, you know, Right.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
There's there's a you know that's funny in all of
their struggles, and I think particularly on the offensive side
of the football. I completely forgot that they paid Chip
Kelly a zillion dollars to leave Columbus right and go
out to Vegas and.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
He might regret it except for his paycheck. And I'm
sure Ohio State paid well too.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
But oh yeah, but not not not that NFL money.
But maybe yeah, well I can see him back. I
tell you what, though, if I'm one of these, if
I'm one of these Arkansas's or Oklahoma state type programs
looking for my next head coach, he gets fired. If
the Raiders clean house and Carroll and Kelly, those guys,
he'd be pretty high on my list, I think, especially
now with j You see James Franklin going to Virginia
(20:01):
Tech yesterday officially official. There is a movement now, there's
starting to starting to be a little bit of movement.
Sounds like uh, sounds like LSU and Florida could be
circling their coaches as well too. But I think for
a program with some more patients, bringing back Chip Kelly
might not be It.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Seems like a college guy. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
The New Orleans Saints check in at number thirty, Matt.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
Probably fair Schuck showing some signs of life.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Though, yes, And I tell you what, Oh man.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
They're coming a bye, so it's kind of out Chuck.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Versus Kirk Cousins this weekend, baby, get you popcorn ready.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
I probably will take the Saints in points so too. Yeah,
Atlanta's in.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
A bad place. Atlanta's in a real bad place. And
as you and I have said many times, this year.
The Saints record is terrible. They're going to be picking
in the top five. Yeah, all those things, but they're
not a pusho. Like they've lost a lot of one score.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
They've had a couple of real sinkers, but they've also
been pretty competitive too for having a week roster.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Just eye test, like they look much better than the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
Of the Titans. Yeah, Like they're hiring for Collen Moore.
I think they're quite happy with They just just give
him some space some time, right, just give him some time.
I know we'll get to Atlanta here, I would hope
pretty soon, but just so I don't forget.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
As soon as you think they'd be low on my list.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
But anyway, right now, Atlanta owns the eighth pick in
the draft, So the Rams, which might be first or
second on this list, might end up with like thirty
two and eight or thirty and eight, you know, like right,
that's a pretty nice situation. This.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Did the Saints trade away their first round pick two? No,
they did not know.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Okay, there are a few that there's several teams that
are without them.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
There's another bad team besides Atlanta that's without them. It's
not Cleveland. Not New York. It's not the Giants, is
it the Commanders?
Speaker 3 (21:49):
No?
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Well, Carlo, yeah, yeah, we'll get into that at a
different time.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
I mean green Bay doesn't have Theirs, sure as the
Parsons do.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
Cleveland. Brown's check in at twenty nine and it sounds
like shud.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Or San Jacksonville has the Browns have Jacksonville's there and
they have two Browns have two? Browns have two? Ye, Jacksonville.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Pretty, Jets have multiple Packers.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Lost Theirs, So yes, Dallas has multiple still yes, no
order Dallas trade to the Jets.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
I think it was the second round of this year,
in their first round or of the twenty seven. Yeah,
Jets have multiple, Yes they do.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Indeed, you know they have Indies.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
I'm fine with the Browns being this low.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Same.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
The offense is as bad as any league.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Yeah, it's terrible.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
I mean, it doesn't matter how good the defense is.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
Jets are at twenty eight.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
Okay, I mean these teams are all pretty terrible. Pretty
bad Jets were okay last time we saw it.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Let me ask you real quick, are you okay with
the Falcons still not being below any of these teams?
Speaker 3 (22:48):
They're better than all these teams.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, Giants stay at twenty seven. Fine,
Jameis Winston almost had a magical Jamis moment.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Yeah, I mean they played the Packers tough.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
They did. They're I don't think there'll be a pushover,
but they're just they're leaking oil. Yeah, yeah, they're so.
They're so beat up. Twenty six the Washington Commanders.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Yeah, they got to be pretty bad by Miami.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
I know it went to overtime, but yeah, the Dolphins
were clearly the better team.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
They were. I mean, I guess I shouldn't say they
got beat pretty bad. But they don't have much to
hang their hat on.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
No, they don't. They They're another Cancun on three type
teams at this moment. I think Cincinnati Bengals check in
at twenty five, staying there after the loss to the Steelers.
You want to know something, you wanta something crazy. In
the last three games, Cincinnati defense, okay, have allowed over
fourteen hundred yards, over six hundred rushing yards, and they
(23:46):
have zero takeaways in their last three games. I mean
that is historically bad.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
And we mentioned you know that they're the worst defense
since nineteen sixty six, well since DVOA was created in
nineteen eighty three. This is the worst vo A defense
ever too. I mean, they just keep it worse. Who
I guess they should be this low? Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Checking in at twenty four is those Atlanta Falcons. Yeah,
I've straight losses.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
They're shot and now the unfortunate thing is you just
don't get to evaluate Panics totally, you know, And and
that knee could be in the next year. It's late
in the season. He's also has a history of the problems.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Correct, Falcon. That was the other one. They don't have
their first round. They don't know their first ram zone, right, yes, yes, yeah,
oh yeah, yeah you did. Yeah, that's how we started
the conversation. Dang it. Cardinals at number twenty three, they're
three and seven.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
They're falling apart pretty quick too.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
And you know, they're another one. I guess you don't
even probably really need to evaluate Kyler Murray at this point.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Is that I think he's gonna play for them again?
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Are they in the They in the market? I mean fully, and.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
I think Brissette will be the caretaker or a rookie
or someone else, and Kyler will end up in the
Jets or whatever, Cleveland or who knows, the Raiders whoever
can't get their guy in the drift.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Right now, the Rams would have the tenth overall pick
from the from the Falcons. That's what it would That's
what it would be right now. Yeah, you're right. Cleveland
has an extra first rounder this year. Cowboys have an
extra first rounder this year. Jets have an extra first
rounder this year. That's the list.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
That's several of them. The quarterbacks that they could go get.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Them, Yes, they do, all but Dallas not like in
that Miami Dolphins checking in at twenty two, Matt, I
think there's hope they're moving up this. I feel like
there's a real lone in the sand, like there's a
gap between every other team that we've just said.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
In the Dolphins, they've momentum in a good way.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
Four and seven. They're dangerous.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
They could be saving their jobs, you know, yes.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Yes, and they've got man I tell you what that
a chain. Olie Gordon Combo is pretty good in the back.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Cham puts up numbers every week.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Ollie Gordon looking like the dude who absolutely wrecked the
Big twelve two years ago.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
Two years ago, he was a dude.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
I've told you, and I've been to matt By my
best guess estimation. You'll laugh at how big of a
dork I am. But I was actually talking about this
with my buddies on our WVU show last week. I
believe in my lifetime, good faith, best estimate guess, I've
been to ninety six WVU home games in my lifetime,
and next Saturday against Texas Tech, the last home game
(26:30):
of the year will be ninety seven, So I'll hit
the one hundred mark next year. In twenty twenty six, it.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Was about seventy year, right seven.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
Yeah, I mean you know, like I did the math,
Like from the time that I was five until I
was ten, I went to like one a year. Yeah,
and then from when I was ten to when I
was seventeen, I went to like three and a half
a year, and then I went to thirty. I went
to twenty nine games when I was a student. You
don't miss that many now, No, unless I'm hopping on
a plane to Los Angeles. That's the only time. Like,
(26:57):
I'll go to four of the six home games this year.
If I were to list most impressive performances that I've
seen in those ninety seven games of Mountaineer field, Ollie
Gordon would be on the short list. Well, I think
I told you this story. He rushed for one hundred
and eighty yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Really,
wah WV was up four going into the fourth quarter
(27:18):
of that game. We muffed a punt and gave the
ball back to Oklahoma State, and Ollie Gordon said, this
game's mine now, and nobody touched them for the rest
of the day.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
To your point, though, Miami, when you found somebody they
needed a power back, I think so a chan can't
be your goal line back.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
They have got a all I would say, almost perfect
combination in that backfield right now. Between those two twenty
one the Minnesota Vikings. Man, I don't know. I might
have the Dolphins ahead of Minnesota. I might too.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
We were talking. I mentioned how we basically put Atlanta
and Sinci in their grave this morning on a podcast.
I think Minnesota might be one loss away from being
in that exact same situation. Their quarterback situation is just
an anchor right.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Now, and they're another one. We had them, you know what,
three weeks ago or whatever, when we kind of went
through our list of what teams in the NFL are
going to be in the quarterback market. This offseason, we
had them as a maybe I think they're moving. I
think they're.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
Maybe like a Kyler and McCarthy team next year, you know,
something like that, because McCarthy's gonna be on the roster.
I don't think they're gonna ditch the ditch om true
and now, I mean that's just a tough position if
you're like Justin Jefferson, like, I mean, I know we
have to evaluate this guy. But coach, we won a
lot of games last year. How long were you to
stick with them and the rest of the season. I
(28:34):
know we got to evaluate them. But my clocks ticking it,
you know.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Yeah, And you know, other than that quarterback situation, they're
pretty ready maybe to be a to be a you know,
a playoff team right now. Yeah, moving up three spots
after that impressive Monday night beat down a day eighties
last night, it's the four to five and one Dallas Cowboys,
Monty Python not dead yet.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Not dead yet. And that was actually a conversation. How
we started the conversation was Cowboys back in this thing?
You know? And are they they cooked? I'm like, no,
they're not cooked. And you can see the difference. On defense,
Quinnin Williams made a huge difference Overshown's back. Revel the
third round pick and show my first round pick. He
(29:18):
came back. Wilson, the linebacker from the Bengals. I think
the visuals said they had five new starters this week
on defense. Those were those four and somebody else that
came back from injury or whatever. So I kind of
took the stand of and they are they're like in
the Hunt, you know, the in the Hunt tall and
I think they're tenth right now in the NFC. But
(29:40):
as my co host was talking, I went and just like,
I wonder who they're playing next, Philly, Kansas City and
Detroit or the next three games. So we might as
well get the shovels out to start digging. But then
it eases up. But if they go, oh and three here,
then forget about it. I mean, they can't lose two
of those three probably NFC.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
They probably at least need to win two of those three,
particularly the NFC.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
Games, and then win the other ones. I mean, yeah,
I mean they shouldn't be huge favors over anyone, But
I say if they're in the AFC. Maybe NFC is brutal, brutal.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Yeah, there's there's gonna be a good team in the
NFC that gets left out of the picture like a.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
And there might be a not good team that gets
in the playoffs in the AFC.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Correct number nineteen. I think, perhaps so, Matt. I think
on the global picture this year, the Raiders and the
Commanders have been the most disappointing teams. The Colts and
the Patriots have been the most surprising teams in a
good way. Ravens are sort of on the disappointing really
good point. You can explain to them they had a
(30:43):
ton of injuries for a stretch.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
But they were a little disappointed before. They've been a
little disappointed, I mean just because they were here. Though.
In terms of expectations, yeah, they.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Were a one on the short list of Super Bowl picks.
Another year. One of the co hosts on this show
might even have picked them to win Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Yep, yep, yeap.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Carolina, I think would be one of the next ones though.
On that pleasantly surprised list, six and five still plenty
to play for. They checking at nineteen on this week's
Power Ring I think that's fair.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
I think we could go so far as to say
they're an average team.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
They're well coached. Yeah, yeah, you know, they don't have
much that scares you. But they don't have much that
Cincinnati defense the circle and you go, these guys are
really terrible here.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
And like last year their defense was at that level.
I mean they had a lot of injuries, but they
had no talent either.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Yes, I think about right there, and yeah, still that fine.
They've still got plenty to play for the Texans. Checking
at eighteen, they are five and five, Still no CJ. Stroud.
They now have a twenty nine percent chance to make
the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
They staying alive, and Mills isn't the worst option. He's
probably a little below like a Rootolph to me. They
do play this Thursday. I don't know who they're playing.
We can preview that in.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
The week they play the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Maybe that's maybe that.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
You were talking about, you know, right in the right
in the the eulogy, the obituary for some of these
teams Dallas. I think Houston as well too, that both
both Texas teams could be on on Tuesdays, Houston Buffalo
at home with no CJ. Stroud to Indianapolis to Kansas City.
(32:29):
That's where the Texans are. That's the Texans next three games.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Yeah, and they're not in good enough situation.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Chos at home, at Indy at Case.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
Yeah. I mean, I don't know that they can drop
two of those.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
You'll be stone dead in a moment, isn't that what
they say in Monty Python And he's like holding it,
I'm not dead. He's Chargers check in at seventeen, and
I don't know about this. They dropped from eleven to seventeen.
I realized it was a lobsided loss against Jacksonville, but
I don't know about dropping them all the way to seventeen.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
I kind of disagree with you, just because I think
the O line's so bad. And I heard some splits today.
Tarked their nose tackle. It's almost like Cam Hayward last year.
When he's on the field, they have a great run defense,
but he's not on the field a time, and when
he's off the field, they get gashed, which I would
like to see Pittsburgh do more of.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Two weeks ago, checking in at sixteen, just above them,
the team that just gave them a butt whooping six
and four of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
I'm still not sold that they're I mean, I'm not
like digging the grave for him or anything yet, but
I'm not sold that they're an above average team, which
I guess it's sixteen. They're definitely no one's saying they are.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
I meant to tell you guys this. We laugh sometimes
about the messages and the comments and those things that
you receive. Anybody who works in this business does right.
Sometimes you get people saying nice things about you. Sometimes
you get people in your mentions calling you an idiot.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
M hmm.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
I had some guy who messaged me on Facebook and
was like, can you please stop with the yinzer pronunciation
of jaguire. It's Jaguars, Okay, yin is correct. Excuse me.
This is the Steelers Audio network last time I checked.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Did you tell him quit being a jag?
Speaker 2 (34:08):
I told him to quit being a jag. I saw
in his profile he graduated from Pitt just that typical
nose in the air panther education. I guess the Jaguars
check in at number sixteen, Matt down eight spots, the
Kansas City Chiefs at number fifteen. Wow, that's a little
harsh for me. Let me see who's in front of him,
the Bears.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
Like I had have the Chiefs had the Steelers, would you.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Have them head of the Ravens. Yeah, I think I
would definitely have him head of the Ravens. And the
Ravens are at thirteen. Here I realized yesterday I spoke
harshly about the Kansas City chief Right. I got a
couple tweets about that too. The people are like, you
better be careful. I also said, if they won six
of their last seven games and.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
Win, we didn't predict that they're going to lose out.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Yes, I am just not giving them the benefit of
the doubt. Is the Super Bowl favorite, let alone the
AFC West favorite anymore?
Speaker 3 (34:58):
I agreed?
Speaker 2 (34:58):
They are still if you're telling me right down five,
the Steelers win the division and they host a playoff game,
pick the one team you wouldn't want to come to
Akroscher Stadium.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
Times a thousand, it's the Chiefs. Times a thousand, it's
the Chiefs. Right.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
I think fifteen might be a little too, but I
think they should be outside of the top ten this point.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Agreed. Agreed, Okay, I mean, like again, I have the
Chiefs of the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
So let's do this at Yeah, in front of the
Bears are at fourteen, and.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Bears just keep winning and Chiefs keep losing. So there
has to be something to be said for that. Bears
d is the worst unit of the four. I don't
think their offense is the best unit of the four.
Are the Chiefs of the Bears?
Speaker 2 (35:39):
I think I would too, but I'm thinking about it.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
If they played a neutral site, the Chiefs are favored.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Right, not one, probably by like a point and a half.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Yeah, I bet it's close.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
I'll tell you what. The Chiefs though, man, and it's
the first place schedule, but like, it doesn't get any
easier for them.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
I'd say that it's not a they're just gonna not
gonna skate right in.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
They've got their colts. They've got the Colts at home
this weekend, and then they go to Dallas on the
short week for the Thanksgiving game against the cow They
now suddenly have some life. Yeah, and you can at
least score points.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
We know they can at least score points. Colts are
coming off of bye too for that game. That's two
rest issues.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
So even say they split them and they go six
and six.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
I mean, they're still swimming up.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Still tough, and then they got a desperate UH Texans
team still and still got to play the Chargers again Broncos,
although I do believe that's towards the end of the season,
so that could be one where the Broncos aren't fully
playing for anything. Kind of the opposite of last year
when the Broncos needed to beat the fifteen and one
Kansas City Chiefs the last week of the season to
(36:44):
get into the playoffs and the Chiefs arrested everybody. Maybe
that shoe will be on the opposite foot this year.
Baltimore at thirteen, I think I would definitely have the
Chiefs ahead of the Ravens for Baltimore both five and five.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
I don't know what the Ravens have like turned the corner.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
They didn't look great against against Cleveland. No no, and
I realized the Cleveland defense is good, but they struggled
to get that win. Lois they've been in a while.
Mat The Tampa Bay Buccaneers checking in at number twelve
after Sundays lost to the Bills. Yeah, I'm sorry, I
mean I'm of Steelers.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
Fox are better than Steelers. I mean, the Bucks are
good too.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
They lost a few. They're on a little bit of
a skid here.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
No, but losing in Buffalo it was a late touchdown.
They were in that game for fifty minutes.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
I do think there was a point where, maybe it
was during the Steelers maybe it was around the Steelers
bye week, where we talked about the teams right now
that you are most certain would win their division, and
I think we both said the Bucks, yeah yeah, And
right now the Panthers are right on their heels. I
still feel very confident that they win that Buck Yeah,
win that division. I just don't know if I consider
(37:56):
them among the NFC contenders like we did maybe a
month ago. I guess playoff team.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
Yeah, they can make some noise, maybe they win a game.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
If they knocked off Seattle or La or Detroit or
somebody like that in the playoffs, that wouldn't shock me.
But I also don't put them in the same category
as those NFC leaders.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
No, I don't either.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
It could could certainly turn back though Steelers check in
at number eleven.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
Okay, I mean I did the Chiefs ahead of the Steelers,
I would have Tampa ahead of Steelers. I don't know
what's the thing about Baltimore. I'm gonna uffle some feathers that.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
I don't know what they're pretty think about Chicago either, right,
I won six of their last seven games.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
There's definitely a case to put Chicago ahead of Steelers.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Part of it with the Steelers, right, Chargers loss wasn't great.
I really like how the Steelers defense is playing.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
And I trust it now. Yes, I don't think it's like, oh,
that's kind of a flash in the pan, you know.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
But the quarterback status is up in the air. Jalen
Warren is not one hundred healthy.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
The passing game is a passing game is ailing right
right now? It is.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
I think the Steelers are in this eleven to fifteen range. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I might have like Kansas City, and I don't even Tampa,
certainly Kansas City, maybe Chicago.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
I mean, do we know the spread of the game.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
I bet you I can find it in the problem.
Bet you I can find it.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
And just thinking Chicago is a two and a half
point favorite at home.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
You would be absolutely correct. I didn't double half point favorite.
The Chicago base, dad.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
Base, they think they're close to equal teams. It used
to be three points at home. It's not quite as
as much anymore.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
It's not San Francisco checks in at number ten, seven
and four. Brock party back to find ways to win.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
I think they're going to the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
I do too.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
They beat Arizona pretty handily. Offense looks good.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
Whereas I think the AFC is pretty much wide open.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
I think in the NFC there's a clear line between
the contenders and the good teams. I would have San
Francisco and the good teams with the Bucks. Yeah, I
might even have the Packers soon.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
They're not They're okay. Yeah, they're not playing well.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
They are not playing well. They're six three and one.
I think they have a lot of similar to the Chiefs.
If they started rattling off wins here like crazy, wouldn't surprise.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Yeah. I trust a coach and I think a good quarterback.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
But it has not looked the way that you think
it would. A little bit about though. Good for him,
shown a little shown a little life in his career.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
A couple of times he's had to play for the Packers.
He's okay. I mean he might be one of those
guys a year or two from now. Like he started
quarterback in the league for.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
Ryan Tannehill, just type reclamation.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
He wasn't the first round pick. There wasn't a ton
of pressure on him.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
You know.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
It comes from a tiny school.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
If you had to liberty, liberty, liberty, liberty, if you
had to start a if you had to have one
of these following two quarterbacks next year for your build
an offense around mac Jones or Milik Willis.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
Oh wow, mac Jones. Everyone on the planet would take
mac Jones. I don't know that I would because he's
had success. He was quite good for the Niners. But
I can't stress enough for him for the Niners Shanahan,
I mean, you have to as much as any quarterback
in the league that has a chance to be a starter,
(41:24):
you have to cater your offense around him. I mean,
he's just not that talented, you know. Like my co
host is locked on Niners guy and he's always trying
to sell me Mac Jones the Steelers next year. Oh,
when Rogers retires, will give you mac Jones for a
third You're like, it might work out and you can
win games with him the way he played for the
(41:45):
Niners this year, and system quarterback is not something I
in a nutshell is not a negative connotation, but he's
really a system.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Almost every quarterback in the NFL is assistant.
Speaker 3 (41:57):
Yeah, but there's different degrees of it, correct, the tenth
theory of it, you.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
Know, correct. I think I think I would go Malik Willis.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
I think I would too, but most people wouldn't. I mean,
that's kind of a crazy thing to say.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
I'll tell you this right now and we'll get back
into it around campus tomorrow. Like guys that can run,
I think I would take one of these quarter the
second tier college quarterbacks in the second or third round,
before I would take or mac Jones. But I'm with you.
The the running ability of Willis would I think be
the deciding factor there. Lions fall three spots. They are
(42:31):
number eight, They are six and four. Jared Goff with
one of his worst games in recent memory. Yeah, the
schedule's not getting any easier. They're in a weird position.
I still think they make the playoffs and everything.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
Yeah, but they could rebound and beat some bad team
this certainly. I don't know who they're playing, certainly, but
I think that as an awful wait place to walk in.
It'll wind in Philly. I mean you know, you know, well,
I sure do the link. You got to dig them
a little bit. But they're still a contender to me
that they could still win this.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
I didn't tell you the exciting news about Lincoln Financial Field.
Your boy won World Cup lottery tickets there for next
summer just recently last week, So I got four tickets
to It'll be June twenty seventh to Saturday in Philly
at the Link.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
And that's several games.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
Is that it's one game? Oh, it'll be one World
Cup group stage game. I think in like a month
we'll find out exactly who it is. Wow, I'm hoping
it's like a big South American team like Brazil or Argentina, Uruguay,
or like France or Germany or Spain or England. But
sounds like your boys going to a World Cup game
in Philly this summer. For that, I am very excited.
(43:40):
The Buffalo Bills check in at number seven, seven and three.
They get back into the win column against a good
team in Tampa Bay.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
Yeah, this Tier two have legit concernstrong. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
I think that's about right now. Just ahead of them
is the team that they are a game and a
half behind. It's the New England Patriots. They've earned it
nine and two. They've earned it because of the record.
They beat Tampa, which said a lot. The Patriots bye
week is still two weeks away. I know that might
work out really well for them. Milton Williams going to
(44:17):
ir maybe you'll get him back post by.
Speaker 3 (44:19):
All right, they might be exactly what they need. This
whole schedule thing. This has worked out.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
Played out well, very well for New England.
Speaker 3 (44:25):
That's why I'm a little hesitant to one thousand percent
by in, but I'm ninety nine percent bought.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
In number five. Also at nine and two, the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
Fair offense might be getting a little better passing game,
might be getting a little better. Knicks played well.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
Key stat for you. It's something you mentioned a lot
with the Chiefs that's moved in the opposite direction. Again,
it's almost like for those two franchises the shoes on
the opposite foot from last year. Denver last year one
in six in one score games this year seven and
two are they they are winning a lot of the
they're doing the Chiefs thing from last year. I got
a close game, which I'm not saying there's anything wrong
(45:01):
with that. That's what you do in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (45:03):
Along those lines. So the Bears, you'll do that in
the statue like they have a very One of the
things NFL dot Com does is average margin of victory,
so they look at all your wins and by how
much did you win? Theirs is really really low.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
Really low. Matt Seattle falls from one to four after
their loss to the Rams. On some that's the absolute lowest.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
I dropped.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
Yeah, it took a four interception nightmare outing for Sam
Darnold for that to be a twenty one to nineteen
win for the Rams. Eagles check in at number three,
Cults at two. I might flip flop in Indy.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
I'd go Rams, Philly Indie heavy in the NFC.
Speaker 2 (45:46):
Okay, I think that's fair. I think I'm with you
on that one.
Speaker 3 (45:49):
I just have to be one.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
I might go Philly one and then Rams, but that's
fine with me.
Speaker 3 (45:54):
The way the defense is playing for Phillies.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
I like the Rams quarterback and coach more, but I
the way the defense is playing for the Eagles is scary,
and I think they're only gonna get better down the
stretch as they get Jalen Phillips and some of those
other guys acclimated and more familiar with what they're doing.
Gonna take a quick break here and a quick wrap
up on the other side. It's the Drive on Steelers
Nation Radio on the Steelers Audio Network.
Speaker 1 (46:21):
Your teams about Drive on your twenty four to seven
home of the Black and Goal Steelers Nation Radio.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
All right, Matt, this might be the shortest segment ever
in Drive history, but I did want to get to
a funny tweet from Max here. Remember we had the
conversation about time of possession. Did the Steelers win it
by five seconds or by ten seconds? If you're a
baseball team and you go eighty two and eighty, did
you finish one game above five hundred or two games
above above five hundred? Max chimes in and he said
(46:58):
he's definitely with us. Eighty two games Baseball is one
game over five hundred thirty minutes in five seconds, five
seconds more time of possession, not ten right, Look at us, Matt,
We're just some statisticians. We're just some mathematicians up in here. Baby.
Speaker 3 (47:12):
Yeah, like you said yesterday, they were thirty oh five.
If they would have held the ball one second longer,
do they get credit for two seconds longer.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
I don't think so we need to maybe the off the.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
Raft blew the whistle one second later on one player.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
I think I told you this yesterday. Mike Pursuda is
on the complete opposite side of the defense of us.
You go eighty two and eighty you finished two games
above five hundred. It's simple math.
Speaker 3 (47:35):
I think you gotta break it down like we just
did by the second.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
We need to at some point in June when we
have nothing going on, conversation, suit in here for five
minutes and argument. That'll do it for the show. Today.
We got a ton of tweets in the last twenty
four hours or so, a.
Speaker 3 (47:51):
Lot of sun Oh yeah, tomorrow's gonna be busy too.
Speaker 2 (47:53):
Tomorrow will be a busy day, I promise you. Though
I've bookmarked those tweets, we'll get to those tomorrow and
on Thursday as we roll along. But tomorrow we'll dive
into Matt's status.
Speaker 3 (48:02):
I'm doing homework right now.
Speaker 2 (48:04):
We'll go around campus all that fun stuff that we
typically do on a Wednesday, as well as talking to
our buddy Chris Hallick. But that will do it for
us today. Thanks to the first part of our Cris
contingent here on the On the Drive, Chris Adanski for
joining us in the first hour of the shows. Chris
cross apple sauce. My wife didn't know what that was.
(48:24):
By the way. Our daughter came home from from school
the other day and was like sitting down and was like,
Chris cross apple sauce, and my wife was like, what's that.
Speaker 3 (48:30):
I don't really know either.
Speaker 2 (48:31):
Well, you can't say the one thing that we it's
when you sit with your legs crossed.
Speaker 3 (48:35):
I can do that.
Speaker 2 (48:36):
We used to call it something different when we were kids,
but now you can't say that anymore in twenty twenty five.
If you're picking up what I'm putting down, it was
a disparaging comment about it.
Speaker 3 (48:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
I'll tell you when we go to break.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
I'm trying to get canceled on this Tuesday, this Tuesday
evening before we get to do with apple sauce.
Speaker 2 (48:55):
No, it has nothing, okay, I think that's just a
funny way to do with apple sauce. Big Apple Sauce
is gonna come after me now, Big Apple Sauce is
going to be all in my mentions trying to get
me canceled. Big thanks to TV mister TV our resident
statistician and of course, video producer, and a big shout
out to Matt Williamson. Will dive into Matt's stats tomorrow.
(49:17):
You know where to find us. As always, take care.
We will talk to you then on your twenty four
to seven home of the Black and Gold at Steelers
Nation Radio on the Steelers Audio Network
