Speaker 1 (00:03):
Your tune's about Drive on your twenty four to seven
home of the Black and Goal Steelers Nation Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Good evening, Steeler Nation. It's the Drive on the Steelers
Audio Network. Wes Shuler, Matt Williamson, our number two coming
at you here. Our last hour in studio this week
before before we fly off to Dublin tomorrow night. Thursday
will kind of be a you know, Labs was giving
me grief for this. Labs was like, no show Thursday.
He's like, but you guys are leaving Wednesday night. What's

(00:44):
the problem. Why aren't you doing a show Thursday. I
was like, we'll see, Labs. The way our schedule's set up,
we're we're gonna have to kill some time. First of all,
you have to you have some DVE responsibilities. Yeah, I
have to go to Croke Park with our products, with
our producer dan Quinland to test all the lines and
see our setup and all that stuff is. You know,

(01:04):
we're doing a broadcast in a new stadium three thousand
miles away that you've never.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Been a foreign land.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
It's in a foreign country. So we have to do
that idea.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Like what our sleep life will be and when we
wake up it's gonna be not good.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
I mean, gets like five hours of sleep on the
plane at best. You know, if we're lucky, it won't
be No, it will not. It'll be sitting up, you know,
vertically in a chair type sleep.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
I'm bad at time zones. I mean, erupt you're for here.
But there's been so many times in my career that, hey,
can you do a hit in Omenha, Nebraska or blah
blah blah. Yeah, And I'll be like, tell me that
after my first year at ESPN, Like, just tell me
the Eastern Standard time because otherwise I've screwed them up
way too often and this is gonna mess with my

(01:52):
brain in a big hitch.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
We're five hours ahead of our time zone here, so.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Okay, yeah, So what the weird thing is I do
is Peacock and Williamson podcast. Yes, and he's on the
West Coast in San Francisco.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Eight hour time difference, right.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
I'm like, Oh, I'm like I might be able to
do a show for you. I know, Thursday I told
him I'm out, you gotta find a placement. Yeah, I'm
like maybe Friday after I kind of get the lay
of the land, but I'm like I don't know how
on earth we're going to coordinate when we are doing
an hour with an eight hour time difference. Like I'm
not going to ask you to do it at midnight.
You're not gonna ask me to do it at four

(02:28):
in the morning. Like it's it's just so when we
get to the hotel, my little lizard brain can't figure
this stuff. Okay, we get to the hotel, what time
Irish time?

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Do you think it will be about ten am? I
would guess.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Okay, so in their world, we flew overnight the whole time.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Correct, We're going to land I think about seven thirty
in the morning, and then we'll have to do customs
and all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Yeah, not gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Quick, get our bags and then we have a you know,
a bus taking us to the hotel. I think that'll
be around tennis probably by the time we get through
the airports and on the bus to the hotel Thursday,
ten am. We can't check into our rooms though, right away,
because you know, it's still in the morning type thing.
So I think they're gonna like, like, we're gonna have
a ballroom and stuff there where we can put all
of our stuff and then we're all gonna get back

(03:15):
on buses and go to the stadium. I think that's
when you and Pursuita are gonna do your show. We're
gonna test everything there. We've got to set up. Are
not you and I we but the everybody there needs
to go to the Fitzsimon's Temple Bar Reminder, where we'll
be doing the shows all day Friday and Saturday, to
obviously set all that up. So Thursday's kind of like

(03:36):
a get there, get our bearings, find out where we're going,
get the broadcast set up type day, and then Friday
we can really hit the ground run and DV Morning
show will be on for four hours before you and
I go on for three hours.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
So probably none of us will like get to the
hotel walk white in our room, false lea. No.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Any international time travel or will tell you don't want
to do that anyways, right like you want to stay up.
I know your dad has been drilling down for you
because he's traveled internationally a lot.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
You can get as much as you can.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
My my father is you know, violinist in the symphony
for thirty six years. He went to Europe all this
he's been every he always jokes the only place he
hasn't been is Alaska in this world, like he always
he always jokes that. But he came over last night
to bring me charger converters in different charger outlets, and

(04:31):
my dad was like, don't spend money on those. I've
got a million of them. So he stopped by last
night to drop those off and to say hello to
you know, to his grandkids for a few minutes, and
he said to me five times, don't go to bed
on Thursday. Don't go to bed on Thursday. Don't go
to bed on Thursday.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
When you get there, you get whatever said, go.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Fight the urge, because like he's like, you will never
get yourself back on track if you go right the
bed as soon as you get there. One day, tough day,
have one tough day Thursday, go to bed or you know,
and with.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
The you're in bed like nine o'clock their time.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Fine, who cares. I got a Guinness. I got a
guiness to our Friday morning anyways too. I will be
going to bed early Thursday night. But that's kind of
to peel back the curtain for everybody what we're looking at.
So no shows Wednesday, Uh, for travel. We arrive Thursday,
set up bearings, all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
My game on a Thursday show anyway, which log through it,
and it'd still be entertaining.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
You and PURSUITO will have fun doing. I think your
your hourship, I mean it be an hour, but you know,
you guys will be rightfully, I think pretty gassed as
we all will be. Listen, Matt like that kind of
travel stuff is tough when you're in your twenties, you know, yeah,
if you're if you're a young person still, you know, uh,
with our age, it's gonna be a little difficult, but

(05:46):
it will be a lot of fun. A lot of
coffee will be going down Thursday, I think. Also Thursday,
I think they're going to take us to lunch while
we wait for our hotel rooms. I've been told, And
I think we might swing past the You know, the
Steelers have a pro shop like a team shop set
up in downtown Dublin as well too, with a bunch
of merchandise and gear and memorabilia. So I think we

(06:08):
might be swinging by there on Thursday as well too,
which will be which will be cool. Maybe we can
get some souvenirs and some stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Then we'll be like celebrities in there.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
The Steelers have their own pro shops set up in
downtown Dublin.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
They're the only team that does.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
The Vikings do as well too.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Well, okay, Vikings there year round.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
No, no, no, this is all temporary just for the NFL
has one as well. So there's a Steelers Pro Shop,
a Vikings Pro Shop, and a NFL Pro Shop in
downtown Dublin. Three different apparel places, gotcha, The Vikings and
Steelers ones obviously team specific. The NFL one has a
ton of Vikings and Steelers stuff, but also stuff you know,
you could probably walk in there and get a Garrett

(06:48):
Wilson jersey or something, you know what jet scarf like
they like to have over there.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
There'll be someone in a Mahomes jersey at the game.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
One million percent.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I bet you'll be probably close to
every team.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
I was going to say, we should try and keep itally.
We can see all.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Two teams exactly right.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
There's also a Steelers bar Fitz Simmons Temple Bar, which
is going to be our headquarters for all of our
shows that Matt and I will do. The DV will
do that everybody else will do on Friday and Saturday.
The Vikings have their own bar set up where they're
doing the same thing. The Packers and the Chiefs also
have bars set up in Kansas City this week, or
in Kansas City and Dublin part of me this week,
because they are the other two teams with with Ireland rights.

(07:33):
If that makes sense, It does to me.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
It probably doesn't to most and I would do a
bad job explaining it. But every team has like territory.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Territories where you're allowed to market where you're like, that's
why the Steelers are hosting a game in Dublin, and
and not and not Germany, Yeah, Brazil or Brazil, you know, Australia, Australia,
Mexico City, Big Mexico City, Big Ireland. And I think
a little bit like almost every NFL team now has
a share in London because it's just you know, it's
become the they played multiple games there. Year.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Steelers have the most or tied for the most territories.
I believe that's so popular.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
I believe like right now, Ireland I think is only Steelers, Packers,
Chiefs and maybe Vikings. But I don't even know if
the Vikings are Vikings one of them, right, So the.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Packers some rumors that maybe the Packer game would be there. Correct,
this should be Steelers Packers.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
To peel back the curtain a little bit. I think
part of the reasoning for that is the Packers said, Hey,
if we're going to get Ireland rights, we'd rather just
host a game there in the next year or two.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Yeah, maybe I bet they would.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
They would. They wouldn't be going to play this game
against the Steelers and then be going back there again
next year. To host a game like that just doesn't
make much sense.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
And I know when the schedule came out, Aaron Rodgers
was not a Steeler, but would you rather Steelers Packers
at nine to thirty Easterns A great point?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Sunday night, That's a great but they don't want that
kicking off at six thirty in the morning in the
west on the West coast, right, they want that on
Sunday on Sunday night football. That's a great point by you.
But if you're kind of reading the tea leaves then
and trying to forecast, I think there's a very good
chance you'll see the Packers and the Chiefs playing games
in Ireland sooner rather than later. But they have pop

(09:09):
up bars for the for the weekend as well too,
Packers and chiefs as well. The Dublin map is insane.
I think Teresa out.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Yeah, checked out tonight.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
So much going on and gonna be so much fun
for everybody there.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
She has all this stuff laid out on there.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
She does.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Yes, I'm going there.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Don't go in there. No, well, too much purple in there.
We'll get beat up. No, we will be doing the
beating up. Okay, we got Max Starks with us.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Baby.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Speaking of which, did I did? I? I didn't show
you the picture, did I? No?

Speaker 3 (09:39):
I know he's on a terrible towel tour, which is.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
My My aunt and my two cousins ran into him
and kill Arney last night.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Are they over there just for they live?

Speaker 2 (09:49):
It's my family. They live in Tennessee, uh, and they
flew out Saturday like they're going over for like ten days,
making a huge you know, my aunt, my uncle and
two of my cousins and their husbands, so six of
them going over for like ten days all throughout Ireland.
Last night they're sitting at a pub in Killarney at
like ten o'clock at night and walking down the street.
My cousin Hanna is like, it's Max Stark's. They'll pour

(10:12):
out of there and I get a picture, you know,
of Max in the middle of the street with my
aunt and my two cousins, and it was awesome. It
gave me some big fomo to get over there. That's cool.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
So so there's kind of a little bit of a
lay of the land for you to peel back to
Curton a little bit. Now, Matt, let's get into some
fantasy football focus here, like we were supposed to do
in this same Hey, we're excited. We're gonna be having
plenty of that this week. But Matt, a couple of
different things that I want to talk with you about. Namely,
let's start here quinchn Jenkins. See you have to take off.

(10:44):
Is it a good time if you're someone like me
who's had him stashed on your bench for the last
couple of weeks. Could he be thrust into a big
role for that Cleveland offense?

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Yeah, I think so. Now he could get suspended still
at any time, you could. I mean, he's been leered
by the police. But the NFL might see it different.
They always can't.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
It's like there's two Tyreek Hill still stuff up in
the air there.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Ye. Now, Samson was pretty promising before, while Judkins was out.
The other fellow rookie and forward to me, he's just
a guy, and I think we know that while the
Browns defense is really really good, their their offense is
going to be poor and it's not going to be
the richest fantasy, most fertile fantasy grounds out there. But

(11:29):
he sure looks like he's going to get a very
big role if last week was an indicator, which is
how you do these things. So yeah, I mean it
might be the last time to grab them. I mean
I would imagine almost every league he's been picked up.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Or drafted, you know, especially if you're in twelve team
or fourteen team.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Yeah, but I would think I would be comfortable flex
RB two get them in your lineup now.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
I think I had him on my bench this past
week and he had a nice game.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
But yeah, yeah, it might be the one to see
it first.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Exactly right. Yeah, be kind of similar conversation, although it's
due to the unfortunate injury. Hate to see that for
James Connor.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Yeah, two former Steeler running backs out for the year
and the same day, Nausey and Connor.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Both and both not like he's gonna miss a couple
weeks now, the back type injuries, and you hate to
see it for both of those guys, who you know,
we're rooting for both of those guys' success as long
as they're not playing the Steelers. Big opportunity for Trey Benson.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Though, Yes, and I didn't love him coming out of
Florida State. I mean, he was everyone knew, was one
of the first two or three backs taken in that class.
And he's an okay, a good prospect. He wasn't my favorite,
but he's big and he's fast, and that's a good start.
But to his credit, since being drafted, he's become a

(12:47):
lot more well rounded in the passing game. So I
think he's an easy starter now. I mean there's little
to no competition, and he was eating into Connor's more
than he ever had before. All the buzz around him
were really good. Actually in both my leagues. I have him,
you know, not because I expected Carror and get hurt.
He was sitting there on the board, and like, now,

(13:07):
if he does, he's super valuable. Sure, he's a I'm
pretty happy about that part. I mean, yeah, I mean
I think he could. I'm not say he's a league
winner for you, but he's a starter every week.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
For everybody needs depth at running back in their fantasy leagues.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Oh yeah, yeah, and uh you got it if I
mean Connor owners that didn't have him handcuffs probably in trouble.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
What if I told you, Matt that I have Judkins,
Benson and Omari and Hampton.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Okay, well they all got huge bumps this week.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
I've had a rough start in that league.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
I bet, because none of them are doing great now.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
And I don't want to say like all I'm you know,
because it's it's all because of injuries. But I'm looking
at those three and I'm like, it's go time. Fell's like, yeah, yeah,
let's get this moving in the right time.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
I do think the younger backs in general are about
ready to pick up the pace.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
It's time.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
And another one to mention just is Trevon Henderson with
all the fumbling that went on around him, he's are
they just going to hand it to him? I mean
they did at the end of the game, after Aftermandre
fumbled twice and Gibson fumbled once. It was like Henderson
for like ninety percent of snaps against the Steelers. Yes,
is that what they'll do or where they say, Ramandre,

(14:13):
you got another chance. He's got a terrible fumbling.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
History though, big time.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
I mean it's like impossible to ignore. Yeah, it's not
just a popcorn issue, as Mike Tomag would say. It's
been a trend.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
It's been a trend. He's after earn his way back on.
So in both my redraft leagues, I have both of them.
That wasn't my plan going in. I was really high
on Henderson, So I don't know if I'll start Henderson
or not. You know, like Henderson versus Benson, I'll probably
put Benson in, or I would put Judkins ahead of them.
I'd certainly put Hampton ahead of the guys we mentioned.
But part of me, when you have both, you almost

(14:47):
won an injury or somebody get benched, you know what
I mean, Like if Memandre all of a sudden, I'll
touch the ball anymore and it's all Henderson, sign me up, man,
that could be That could be a league winner.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
And on my other big money team, I have both
of those running backs as well too. Yeah, and so
I'm like, let's let's get trade tough.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
But by week five or six, it might be clear
that he's going to get all the touches.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Matt a couple high, like like typical second round picks
in most leagues that have underperformed at this point that
I want to get your thoughts on. We'll run through
a few of these guys to close down the Fantasy
Football focus. Brian Thomas first up. Yeah, he was the
average eighth wide receiver drafted in leagues. He is currently
the fifty third ranked Fantasy football wide receiver.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Extremely talented. We have a coaching change going on there.
For the second year in a row, the Jags lead
the league in drops and there's a new stat that
I don't reference much because I don't one hundred believe it,
but you know, incompletions due to wide receiver error, and
like last year the Jets had a ton of them.
Made Rogers look better than you know, like he was

(15:54):
better than his stats because the receivers let him not
a lot drops or don't get two feet in or whatever.
I don't know is that how they deem it, but whatever,
But Jacksonville's the top of league in that, and I
also think his roles changed a little bit. You know
that they're having him with more deep inbreaking routes, and
there's been a couple that he's short armed and doesn't
look super thrilled to be that type of receiver. He's

(16:15):
more of an outside size speed and he's really really
good at it. But if the owner's yeah, I mean
a lot of these guys, I bet I'll say the
same thing. If the owner that drafted him is dishearted
and you can buy them at seventy eighty cents on
the dollar, I'm still in Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
I think that's a good way to put it. You
touched on this a little bit in terms of the
rookie running backs, but Ashton genty average drafted, the average
sixth running back drafted, and fantasy football leagues he's the
thirtieth ranked right now. Give it time, he'll get going
or is there more concern there?

Speaker 3 (16:48):
There's both. He's a tough one for me because my
main league I had the eleventh pick. I took him
at eleven. And there's two things that are just really worrisome.
Is in terms of hit at first contact. We've talked
about that with Steelers that they're numbers too low. The
Raiders are like the worst in the league right now.
I mean, I think I said nowhere.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
I think I said this yesterday. But if you think
the Steelers offensive line has struggled through three games, go
watch the Raiders tape. It's brutal.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
It's brutal, and I'm sure they're also at the bottom
of the league in yards per carry. But he's earning
every single yard. That doesn't blow you away. You shouldn't
be super shocked. But like the thing that makes me
crazy's people probably don't even know who like Dylan lobb Is.
I mean, he's a mid round pick from a year ago,

(17:38):
but he's got a lot of the third down work,
So genty drafted that high. I was a great receiver
at Boise State. He's not exclusively the third down back.
But if someone's cutting into his third down back work
and catch, something has to change, you know. So that's
a tough one.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
A couple more here, Drake London averaged being the ninth
wide receiver drafted. He is currently the forty fourth ranked.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
Wid Yeah, that one doesn't worry me at all because
two weeks ago he got hurt and was questionable for
this past week played through it and kind of was
a decoy. And plus they were so terrible this year
this this past week, Penix couldn't hit the broadside of
a barn.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
He played real bad, he played really poor, and they
lost by thirty to the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
I think London will be fine. I think Pennix will
be better. So that one doesn't worry me.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Last one, I think this one worries some people. Chase
Brown average eighth running back to come off the board.
He is currently the thirty third ranked.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
The thing he is going for him is he owns
that backfield. I mean there's a couple of backs and
Jalen Warren might be one of them now hamp owned over.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Right.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
I mean, Jonathan Taylor is one of those guys now
where they're not sharing hardly at all. And that goes
back the last year. But I never thought Brown was
a great prospect. He just never faced a stack box,
you know, whenever. Last year, sure, and they didn't even
run the ball well with Burrow. That little bit that
they did see him, he concerns me. I mean, yes,

(19:14):
I guess I'm starting him still, but he's at that
point where if there's a tie between him and somebody else, Benson,
you know that you don't quite know about. I'd probably
take the other guy because I don't think he's a
dynamic talent. It's gonna get a ton of yards on
his own.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
No, and now defenses are just gonna que on him.
That's a slow down. That run game make Jake Browning
one dimensional.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Yeah, Now they're just so much easier to play against.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Okay, illed one more? All right, same last name, different pew,
same last name, different team A J.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Brown He blew up this past week.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
He sure did, right, but that was problemed and he
I think there's promise there. But he was the average
tenth wide receiver drafted. He is currently the thirty eighth ranked. Okay,
not timed to panic.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
No, but him and Smith when you drafted them, if
you didn't realize that their ADP was baked in that
there's going to be some games that that team just
doesn't throw the ball much, then shame on you. You know,
like if he was in a different situation, he'd be
there with like Lamb and Chase and all those guys.
So you get him at wide receiver ten on your draft,

(20:21):
because there's going to be three or four games a
year that they just run the ball and win, you know,
And now it was getting a little scary there before
this past week, but it was really promising to me
that when the Rams I'd control that game, they just said,
we're throwing it to that dude, you know, because he's
a monster and he is a fantastic player. So my

(20:45):
thoughts really haven't changed on him since. Like Fantasy Draft.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Day, there's your fantasy football focus here for your Week
four action heading into the final week of the September
slate before we turn the calendar to October. When we
come back on the other side, it's time for Tuesday
Power rankings here on the Drive, West Shooler Matt Williamson,
Steelers Nation Radio on the Steelers Audio Network.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Your tunes about Drive on your twenty four to seven
home of the Black and Gold Steelers Nation Radio.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Power Ranking Tuesdays here on the program. Good timing before
we take off to get in maybe kind of one
last around the league view and conversation here on the Drive. Matt,
as always, you know the drill, The loyal listeners know
the drill. We start at number thirty two, So.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
What's crazy about these bottom teams. Is we're already three
games in. Quarterback gets benched, you know, put the rookie
in play callers getting assignment chains. Right, Yeah, It's just
it blows me away. Every year.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
It happens very quickly in this league.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
And we went through all the and three teams a
day on a podcast, and basically Houston's the only one
I have any hope for of being like close to
being a potential playoffs.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
And their schedule is crazy difficult in October.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
Yeah, good luck.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
They get Tennessee at home this weekend. That should get
you a win. Then it's like Baltimore and San Francisco
and Seattle, a lot of those are on the road.
Good luck.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Yeah, they're swimming upstream.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Number thirty two the New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
I'm fine with it.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
I think so too. I I could see Miami here.
But I also do think that to give them credit,
they showed some signs of life up and up at
least that.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Was their best game, where the Saints has played their
worst game. Right, you know, that's enough of it.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
For a good way to put it. But yeah, Saints
at thirty two, Dolphins at thirty one. Saints dropped two spots,
Dolphins move up one. What's interesting to me is that
the Giants all at number thirty after being number twenty
eight last week. I I still feel like they are

(23:30):
not terrible. I do too, but they got to figure
out what's going on at quarterback and Jackson dark and
to get a crack out it this week.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
It's as good a time as that any I mean whatever,
I mean, Wilson's not going to get you where you
need to be and dig you out of the so
and three hole. See Dart I guess has been super
impressive and it might not go well. Who knows.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
But they got the Chargers. That's a tough first matchup.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
They're the hardest schedule in the league too. I mean
that screams coaching change. And I can't say I'm super
impressed with their coaching staff either.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
No, I again, in terms of hot seats and things
like that.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Yeah, hey, it's warming up fast.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Pay attention there in East Rutherford number twenty nine, the
Tennessee Titans. All these teams were still in zero to
three territory. I don't mind this like they're gonna I
think the Titans are gonna knock off somebody that we
don't expect at some point soon it'll be az But
cam Ward seems to have some juice.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Yes, Oh, cam Ward to me is really exciting, And
the same is true for Dart. To be honest with
you that just as a fan of the sport, I
hope these teams don't ruin what looked like promising first
round picks from this year. And by that, I mean,
could the Giants fire everybody? Probably will happen. The new

(24:43):
guy says, I don't really like Dart. They have the
third pick in the draft and they take nuss Meyer
or something, and then all of a sudden, it's like, dude.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
We've seen a lot of that late.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
Let's happened a million times.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
We've seen the Jets do that. Yeah, I've seen the
Panthers do.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
That and Tennessee could I mean, they're the ones that
are making the change in play caller. The head coach
is no longer calling plays, which probably said the owner
said you're not calling plays anymore? Probably not his idea. Well,
that's like step one of your seat being on fire.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Twenty eight, The New York Jets still looking for their
first win. Better, I mean, they've they've had you know,
pretty good performance against the Steelers. Okay, you get blown
out against Buffalo, the big dog in your division, and
then you may maybe even should have beat the Bucks. Yeah,
down in Tampa Bay this past Sunday.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
They were one of those teams that came down to
the last minute kick.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
And like, I think, I think they're much better than
the than these other oh and three teams. I don't Okay,
maybe much better isn't a stretch, but I think they
are better than the rest of these and three teams.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
Yeah, And the conversation we finished the podcast with today
was I asked my co host, I'm like, would you
rather have all the oh and three teams minus the
Texans or only the Texans? And we both said I'd
still rather have the Texans. In terms of chances to
make the playoffs. I got five shots or whatever it is.
Verse one, I would still take the Texans. But if

(26:07):
any of the teams we just mentioned turn things around,
get the nine wins somehow sneak in as a seven seed,
I would pick the Jets.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Concur Yeah, twenty seven the New England Patriots.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
I'm sure they're kicking themselves like crazy. And I always
talk about if this was Patriots Nation Radio. Just can't
turn them all over. You be in so much better shape.
I don't think they're particularly good though, I mean, I
just think their roster leaves a lot to be desired.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Still, I think they there's a really good chance they
found the quarterback, yes, but other than that, they need
a lot of work in the.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Power ranking world. I think they'll hover around this neighborhood
all year.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Yes, twenty six the Las Vegas Raiders after another tough
one against the Commanders.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
I don't know if any team we mentioned should be
ahead of them, but I maybe would have the Raiders lower.
I think they're in a bad place right now. They
don't run the ball at all.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
They can't run the ball. Ashton genty is just getting
hit behind the I mean, their offensive line, as we've discussed,
is terrible. Brock Bowers is not one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Nine o' close back seven on the defense is maybe
the worst in the league. Like maybe the Jets go
past them and A sure mean those type of teams, right.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
Gino Smith respawned after a terrible game in Week two. Yeah,
he had nearly three hundred yards, three touchdowns, no turnovers.
It still meant nothing. It meant nothing, right, it meant nothing.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
I was excited about the direction the whole organization was going,
but it's not showing up on the field yet at all.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
No, it is not twenty five feeling good about themselves
up six spots after beating one of the best teams
in the league, the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
All on defense, I mean, very good defense. It's definitely
right now, a top five defense.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Rookies are playing well.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
Yeah, yeah, they play a lot of man that's aggressive.
Garrett's are. Yeah, that's where the brown should be.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Twenty four A I think potential unravel situation. You know,
we've talked about this a little bit with the Dolphins.
I think the Cowboys might be in that same boat.
They're twenty fourth this week.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Yeah, they're shootout win versus Giants. Doesn't look super impressive.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
I mean they're just Russell Wilson's playing a great game
against them and then getting benched. Caleb Williams is looking
bad against everybody else and playing a great game against them. Yeah,
and with Ceedee Lamb, you know, likely on the shelf
for a while. Not great, wouldn't call it great. No.
Twenty three the Houston Texans are at twenty three, zero

(28:37):
and three. They fall six spots this week and.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Where they're where i'd slot them. But I think that's right.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
I do too.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
I mean, I I.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Certainly think like that they're better than the Raiders, even
though the Raiders are one and two, better than the Cowboys,
even though the Cowboys are one and two. But they
got to start stacking some wins, man Like. The defense
is really nice. I think they have some pieces on offense.
But you are what your record says you are, Bill Parcells.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Yeah, and the O line is still a problem. They
don't run the ball well, I'm worried that they're ruining Stroud,
but one side of the ball is quite good.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Down seven spots this week after I think the worst
performance that we saw of any team in the NFL
is the Atlanta Falcons. They fall to the Panthers by
thirty to nothing, down to twenty two.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
Now, this is a weird conversation because I've done power
ranks and they're way harder than you think, especially once
you get into the year. Should the Falcons be below
the Panthers? They just got walloped by them, Yes, so
I guess.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
So it doesn't mean four weeks from now, they're right
right right now they should be.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
I mean four days ago they were way ahead of them.
I assume Panthers were in contention for thirty two in
my opinion. Agreed, just because they have one good game. Now,
all of a sudden, they're gonna be higher. You know,
I'm actually looking over your shoulder. I see that. So
the Falcons have to have them above them, I guess.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
But yeah, the Falcons dropped seven spots, the biggest drop
this week. The Panthers up eight spots. The highest climb
this week, Yeah, because Cleveland was up six spots. So
highest climb this week for Carolina they're at twenty one.
After that, she lacking of Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
So I say this every year. I mean, it's really
easy to be critical of power ranks, and I urge
everyone to do their own because they're really hard.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
They're tough.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
But like if Houston plays Carolina, they're favored by a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Five and a half points.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Yeah, yeah, even if it's in Carolina.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
It's that's why these are I think so fun to
do on a right league basis. Number twenty down four spots,
and I think they could fall certainly more here it's
the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
Like the Falcons are favored over the Bengals right now.
Houston's favored over the Bengals right now. Cowboys might be
favored of Cowboys and that's that would be a total shootout.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Too bad defenses. But believe Cowboys have the quarterback right now, right.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
I mean, I'll take Dak against Browning totally. They're right.
I mean, well, Lamb's out, that's not if he weren't.
But yeah, hairs here.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Number nineteen the Chicago Bears after so what number the
ninth show in some life. Yeah, that's a little high
for me, but I mean.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
I'm okay with that. But boy, twenty to thirty two
is bad, really mad right now, real bad, worse than
usual at this point.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
Big time. Yeah, there's a lot of there's not much hope,
like it'side in Houston. I don't think anybody really has
much of a prayer of changing their fortunes.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
Like I think Atlanta should still be optimistic of their
young quarterback. And maybe it's had a.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Bad day, it might still result in a seven and
ten record this season, but you're feeling good about your
future come December.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Yeah, Yeah, Like I think Atlanta will end up being
out of that level. They'll be the eighteenth team. It's
all said and done or whatever. But we just named
twelve teams that are whoah. Like again, boy, we had
this conversation deep yesterday. You folks would think the Steelers
the worst team in the league. The twelve we just
spit out aren't even close. You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Right, Cardinals at eighteen, Matt, they're a weird one for
me to have value. Yeah, I mean James Connor being
out as big Marvin Harrison Junior has still not taken
off like everyone expected him to out of Ohio State.
Kyler is Kyler is what he is.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Yeah, I think that that book's probably written. That's about
where they belong. And of the NFC West teams, I
don't know how I would rank them other than I
know the Cardinals would be last.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
I think that's fair. Yeah, seventeen. The Jacksonville Jaguars up
six spots this week after taking down Houston. They had
that disappointing loss in Cincinnati, but they're two and one, Matt,
Jacksonville moving in the right direction.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
They're in the hunt for playoff stuff, and they're working
through a lot as well. They're not an easy watch
at all. Right now, I'm okay with them there. Them
in Arizona are about the same to me.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
At sixteen and fifteen, the two foes who will face
off in Dublin on Sunday. The Steelers are at sixteen,
up four spots from last week. The Vikings are at fifteen,
also up four spots from last week.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Okay, that's probably where i'd have the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
I think i'd have Minnesota a little bit higher.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
Now. Got hard on Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
I know they's wall of Cincinnati like some of the you.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
Know, I'm working on Matt's stats, and some of their
their year long stuff isn't pretty, you know, yards for
play and stuff like that. But I think they're better
now than they've been. They're healthier, and you know, Addison's back,
and I think that they're harder to play. This is
the worst week to play them, in my opinion. I
think they're playing well.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
I completely agree you are getting Minnesota probably.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
The worst rather played them two weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Yes, number fourteen, falling four spots out of the top
ten for the first time this season. It's the Denver Broncos,
now just two and eight in one score game since
the start of last season.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Nix is struggling, Yes he is. I'm fine with that.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
I am too. I'm not closing the book on them,
but they're struggling right now.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
Yeah. Yeah, they're figuring things out too, especially on offense
and with a young.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Quarterback number thirteen. I think one of the surprise in
a good way to you of this NFL season it's
the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
I want to mention this, so we reference EPA a
lot here, but I'm also a big fan of DVOA
and Dale and I have talked about it a lot
over the year, so our list is probably are familiar.
But started with Football Siders Aaron Schotts. That's their version
of doing things and it comes out every Tuesday morning.
I went to FTN Fantasy, who bought football Siders Seattle's

(34:24):
their number one team.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Wow. So based off the forget how they played three game.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
Yep, how they played for three weeks, it's a top five,
number one, two or three, top five defense and offense.
That's your loss doesn't look quite as bad through that lens.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
I think Seattle has been one of the more impressive
teams so far. This season, particularly of the non three
and OH teams as well too.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
Right, right, right, who's been better than you think? Seattle's
near the top of that list.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Right, Seattle and in number one at the top of
that list, Number twelve undefeated, the only team that has
beaten Seattle this season, navigating still despite injuries, playing well
the forty nine.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
Ers, and they just lost Bosa for.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
The year to me though, the big kicker.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
Yes, yeah, I'm not sure how much you can withstand
the other stuff. You know, you're gonna get kittled back
in a week or two, and thirty in a week
or two, and maybe even ayuk, but Bosa is a
tough one overcome.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Number eleven in the same spot they were last week,
finally got their first win to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Fine, I saw my doubts, but okay, what.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
If Patrick Mahomes hadn't stripped that ball back from Bobby Okareke. Yeah,
I know, Chiefs might be zero and three.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
I probably wouldn't have moved them either though. They won
a game they're supposed to win, but it wasn't a
blowout and they weren't all overly impressive, you.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
Know, Number ten down three spots. I mean, I get it,
but they also lost to a three and ozho defending
Super Bowl champion on the road. The Rams at number ten.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
I wouldn't move them down. Sometimes you moved down just
because other teams have to move.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Up, like the Colts. Like the Colts, Yeah, they're three
and oh, but I still don't know if i'd have
the Colts above the Rams. But maybe you should with
the way they're playing, because this is supposed to be
a week the week power rankings. This isn't like a
big picture now how we feel about the teams, that's
how they're playing right now.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
I just think the Rams would probably be favored against
the Colt.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
I think so too. Yeah, I think the Rams would
probably be favored against twenty eight teams in the NFL,
twenty seven teams in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
They weren't embarrassing last week. In fact, their stock maybe
should have went out.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
The Eagles did what Super Bowl champions tend to do
at home in Philly, in Philly, block a field goal
final to win the game. But that I don't think
reflects very negatively on the Rams. They continue to be
like the one team that really seems to give the
Eagles trouble. Although the Eagles find a way to get it.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Done against themselves, they can't finish.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
Yeah, they've won, like I think like the Eagles have
won like nine of their last ten against McVeigh and
the Rams. It's spooky. Number nine is the three and
oh Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
I'm fine with them in this neighborhood, but I would
have the Rams ahead of them.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
Concur Yeah, interesting one to me. The Commanders are at
number eight high for me, way too high for me.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
They'd be behind the Rams. They behind the Colts. Maybe
even a couple of Kansasy Chiefs would be behind them. Yeah,
Seattle's playing better than Washington.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
They certainly are. Yeah, I realized Mariota had a good
performance and they kind of beat up on the Rams.
But I'm still not sold on the Commanders being anywhere
close to what they were last year. I don't know
if they're terrible.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
But I don't know, but they would not be in
my top ten.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
I don't think so. Down four spots to the lowest
they've been all season. The Baltimore Ravens after man another
bad turnover by Derrick Henry, another frustrating loss for Baltimore.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
Yeah, And would worry me most for Baltimore is they
lost to both lines of scrimmage. I mean, how often
you see lamarget sacks seven times?

Speaker 2 (37:41):
Crazy?

Speaker 3 (37:41):
Yeah, they never never, ever, ever, ever right. And and
they couldn't run the ball that well, they couldn't stop
the run. So maybe Baltimore is not quite as good
as we thought. I mean I thought they were the
best even league coming in the season, and now they're
one and two. Both their losses are very excusable. I
mean they were.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Great to sure, I get that tight games, yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Yeah, yeah, but I don't like losing to the line
of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
Down to number six, I think that's a little harsh.
But it was a very strange loss for sure for
the Green Bay Packers down two spots.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
And they lost because they couldn't block the Browns front basically,
I mean the Browns defense made that into a total
rock fight. Packers kept losing offensive lineman. I would have
them a couple spots higher. I still think they're in
the top tier.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
I think so too, holding steady at number five after
moving to three and oh and another win the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers.

Speaker 3 (38:33):
That's great.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
A couple of spots too high for me. May're definitely
in the top ten.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Like i'd have him, to have a Washington, i'd have
them a couple of teams we mentioned recently, but I
think I'm still having Baltimore and definitely Green Bay Bay them.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
So yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:46):
By the way, they just lost Mike Evans at least
for a couple weeks a hamstring.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
And remember Kalaijahkantzi's out for the season. Yeah, a couple
of big losses for Tampa Bay. But they're three and
oh and they're playing well. The team that is up
five spots this week, highest they've been this year, I think,
probably the highest they've been in power rankings for a
long time. It's the undefeated La Chargers.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
I'd have every when we talked about so far.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
I think so too. I think yeah, I think I
might even have him ahead of uh, maybe the Detroit Lions,
who check in at number three here on the list.
But okay, I'm splitting hairs.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
Yeah, Troit was pretty impressive last year.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
Was very impressive last night hand and impressive the week before,
putting up fifty plus and beating the Bears by four touchdowns.
But yeah, like you uh, like you mentioned seven sacks
of Lamar Jackson, the way that defense is playing, the
way that they're continuing to run the football despite some
key losses to that offensive line in the offseason. I

(39:43):
think people writing the uh writing the obituary for the
Detroit Lions was a little too premature.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
A thousand per and Goff's numbers weren't mind blowing, but
he was still quite good too, you know.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
And then locked in at the top here like they
still have been for the last few weeks. Buffalo stays
at number two, Philly stays at number one.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
One. Yeah, I mean Philly winning the game to me
isn't as impressive for their spot to be number one
as being able to shift into a passing team when
you had to playing with the lead. They're always they
always have a lead, you know. And for the first
time in a while, Oh no, we got to come
back and they should That.

Speaker 2 (40:20):
Was the big question about that. Yeah, yeah, hurts, and.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
Right right right. We talked about aj Brown the fantasy segment,
so they showed they could throw when they need to,
and so that was a box that hadn't quite been
checked yet this year.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
You know, I've got a lot of friends, family, old
co workers in Philadelphia from my three years there and
my wife's home stomping grounds. Boy were they were they
letting it be known about about some Jalen Hurts disrespect
in the aftermath of that comeback. Oh okay, everybody that

(40:53):
I follow from Philadelphia on social media is like poster
Jalen Hurts passing chart. Now what about the what about
the Eagles not being able to throw the football? Now?
What do you gotta say about Jalen? Now, Hey, it's
it's impressive. It's impressive. Day that was, like you said,
that was kind of the one can they get it
done from this type of position? And they prove they
could not against some shlubs, against another really good team

(41:15):
as well, and it's.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
Hard to find concerns with that team. They're they're good.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
Hey, top too early, like maybe that's the only concerned.
But are they just that good and that's who they are?

Speaker 3 (41:26):
Yeah, they're strong.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
I think that I think that might be the case.
So there's your Week four Power rankings. One more segment
to go before Matt and I, uh, I don't even
want to say close it down for a couple of days,
but just relocate for a couple of days. We'll give
we'll give some final thoughts before we fly off to Dublin.
On the other Sidey Sheeler, Matt Williamson, it's the Drive
on Steelers Nation Radio on the Steelers Audio Network.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
Your teams about Drive on your twenty four to seven
home of the Black and Goal Steelers Nation Radio.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
Mary final few minutes here from HQ before we move
this whole operation over to Ireland. A reminder, no shows
Wednesday or Thursday, but we will have special edition three
hour shows for you on Friday and Saturday, special guests

(42:21):
on location at Fitzsimon's Temple Bar right there in the
Temple Bar district of dan Tan, Dublin. It's going to
be fantastic. We can't wait. We're excited, Matt. Before we
close this thing down for a couple of days here
and relocate, we talked a lot, all right, I don't
know about a lot, but we talked plenty at the
start of the show about the huge matchup of Aaron

(42:44):
Rodgers Brian Flores, the mental aspect of those two and
what they're going to try and do and counter with
each other over the course of sixty minutes at Croke
Park on Sunday. What else is at the forefront of
your mind as it relates to Hey, whoever has more
success here is going to have a higher likelihood of
winning the game.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
It's funny because I was just emailing back the crew
that we do the video for for we recorded tomorrow Wednesday,
since we're not going to be here the Hey, I'll
take Rogers versus Flores, and I'll take the Vikings tackles
versus Herbig and Watt unless anybody wants them. Next on
my list of high priorities would definitely be Steelers corners

(43:24):
versus Vikings. Receivers. I mean, I urge people don't take
Justin Jefferson the slice bit lightly. I mean, if you
look in Matt's stats, I mean, not only does he
have more receiving yards per game than anyone in the
history of the league. Wow, it's by like four or
five yards.

Speaker 2 (43:42):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
Khukin the Coup is two and he's at like eighty
and Jefferson's at like eighty five. I mean, we're talking
about Jerry Rice and Randy Moss. I mean, like the
history of the league.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
He Kukinakua has a future Hall of Fame quarterback throwing
him the foot right and Justin Jefferson as.

Speaker 3 (43:59):
He's not a variety. I mean it's insane. Chase is third.
I mean, like people throw the ball more now. I
mean we get you know, it's not gonna be you know,
Stalworth or Largent or somebody from the that era. But
he's number one by like five yards. Addison comes back.
Hockinson showed new life last year week too. I mean
middle of the field tight end stuff that they couldn't

(44:20):
handle with Henry Hawkinson's better. You know, a key that
I'm gonna speak for Rob that he's brought up a
few times. He wants to see Steeler tight ends versus
average linebackers. They're certainly not household names at linebackers. I
even Pace is a nice player, but there, I think
the middle of the field is okay for them, you know,

(44:41):
I mean, and we need to see more of the
Steeler tight end room. I think that's a good one,
and I don't think it's really interesting just overall with
the Vikings, teams don't do this commonly. They totally found
three new starters on the interior alignement guard center, guard,
boom All from outside the organization. Two of them are colts,
one of them is our first round pick this year,

(45:02):
and two new starters on the total interior D line.
They go get Javon Hargrave and they get Allen from
the Commanders. I mean these are big time acquisitions. I
mean all their beef is new.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
You know, It's like we talked about a lot the
leading up to the season, Steelers would have a new
leading passer, new leading rusher, new leading receiver. And how
rare that is. I imagine that type of turnover on
both sides of the trenches is pretty rare as all
new interior alignment on both sides of the ball is
pretty rare as well too. So can the Steelers defensive

(45:36):
line maybe take a little bit of an advantage of that?
Can the Steelers offensive line maybe take a little bit
of advantage of that?

Speaker 3 (45:41):
I mean they look like upgrades across the board from
the Vikings that won fifteen games last year, right, And.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
We obviously in this parish, we're familiar with Javon Hargrave.
You better be familiar with Allen, who's been one of
the better defensive linemen you know, throughout his time in Washington.
This is Matt.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
I didn't mention and Wentz on purpose. I just don't
know where he is in his career what to expect.
I mean, I think he's in a great situation.

Speaker 2 (46:05):
Expect them to manage the game and not make any
mistakes and keep them out of bad situations.

Speaker 3 (46:10):
I would imagine he's been a wild card through his career.
He's been a lot of different teams. But we talked
about this a lot with like McCarthy, and it's as
good a nest as there is for a young quarterback
as you'll ever find, totally, and McCarthy didn't really take
advantage of it through two games. It's probably a good
situation for Wentz too, you know. I mean I did
a long podcastes and we can talk about this in

(46:30):
our three hours overseas. There's a lot of examples right
now of players that go just to a really good
environment that were highly drafted quarterbacks. And Wentz is older
than these dudes. But like Daniel Jones spends a year
in Minnesota, now he's good. Arnold spends a year with
the Niners. Now he's good with the Vikes. Yeah, Baker's

(46:51):
is one of the best examples. There's tons of them,
these highly drafted quarterbacks that go marinate with a great
quarterback mind and then they get their life back on track. Well,
Wentz is in a really good situation too. He's older
than those dudes, but I mean, those guys all have talent.
They weren't drafted in top ten for no reason.

Speaker 2 (47:09):
You know, it would be very interesting if Wentz strings
together a few strong performances and then if he gets healthy. Yeah,
what do you do? Then?

Speaker 3 (47:16):
What do you do?

Speaker 2 (47:17):
O'Connell was asked about that this week, and as you
can imagine, he kind of gave a non answer answer, like,
you know, we don't. We don't cross that bridge until
we get to it. Yeah, like that's still too early
to even put out there as a hypothetical, which he's
probably right.

Speaker 3 (47:30):
But if they I mean, I'm pretty sure that if
they blow out the Bengals, beat the Steelers, overseas, stay overseas,
beat the Browns, and I don't know how you go
away from Wentz If that's what you do, I agree,
you know what I mean, you at least got to
start rolling with him.

Speaker 2 (47:47):
I would completely agree. Yeah, especially if they continue to
turn in some performances like they did this past Sunday,
but hopefully that is not going to be the case,
and the Steelers are gonna slam that door shut at
Croke Park and have Minnesota questioning where they're going as
an offense come next week and come the month of October.
But that will do it for us stateside. Matt Yep,

(48:07):
I'll see at the airport tomorrow. We will talk to
Yinns from Dublin. Come see us again, Fitzsimmons Temple Bar
