Speaker 1 (00:04):
Your tune's about drive on your twenty four to seven
home of the Black and Goal Steelers Nation Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Good evening, Steeler Nation. How we doing well? That's good
us too, West Shuler Matt Williamson our number two of
the drive here on the Steelers Audio Network. Typically we
do power rankings on a Tuesday, but this Wednesday kind
of feels like a Tuesday as we're trying to get
back together. Yeah, but we can't let a week's slide
without going over some power ranking Williamson.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
So it's funny like, and this happens every year. I
mean I've done power rankings for a million years. Early
in the year, there's still optimism. You know, the teams
at the bottom. You're like, oh, I feel bad putting
them at twenty nine. I mean, things could turn around
for this team. Jackson Dark might be a stud or
you know whatever it is, cam Ward or you know
some guy like that. And now I look at like

(01:23):
eight to ten teams and be like, you guys are
all bad.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Yeah, you're bad. Right, you're cooked. Now, how are you
gonna be by Halloween? Yeah? And one of those teams,
a couple of those teams at the bottom of the
list here. Number thirty two, the Tennessee Titans.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
They're a dead last. I mean, they're a little embarrassing
right now. And it's not even Ward's fault.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
He said so as much in his postgame press conference.
Really a couple of choice words.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Okay, I mean, I think his seat is red hot.
What's weird is his dad's yo line coach. I mean,
I mean, and also probably the guy you would bump
up to the interim job, right, hilarious, Right, But they're
miserable to watch. They don't score points, and Ward actually
looks promising though, Like I would love for the Steelers

(02:10):
to have cam Ward, you know, next year at this time,
you know what I mean, Like, sign me up to
build around that guy. I mean, he is immensely talented.
But they're a horrible football team right now.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
No, they certainly are. And you're right, I think, listen,
all that matters for them, and the grand scheme of
things for this season is cam Ward's development. It is,
and if he can be the franchise quarterback, be the
guy for them for the next you know, twelve fifteen years,
whatever the case may be. So far, so good in
that regard.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
But yeah, I mean he's promising so far, so.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Bad in every other facet, right, but.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
He's probably gonna have a new coach now. And you know,
I mean one thing that isn't exactly their fault. To
their credit, they went out and now they have five
real offensive linemen and like two or three of them
are out, and they have no debt, you know, I mean,
like the things they even they tried haven't gone well.
Ridley's not doing anything.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
I mean bad number thirty one. Also owing for the
New Orleans Saints. Okay, I still don't think they're terrible either,
but they're also oh and four.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
I mean I get that they'd haven't won obviously, They're
not going to be much higher than this. I'm not
going to lobby for him to be sixteen. I kind
of like Spencer Rattler, I'm say he's like the long
term surprised. Yeah, I mean, he's gonna be in this
league for ten years. I would say that maybe he's
you know, fits Magic and ends up on eight different teams,
but he's gonna laugh.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Maybe he's Marcus Mariota.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Yeah yeah, maybe you know, and their competitive kind of
you know.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Other than that Seahawks game, it's not like they've gotten blown.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Out, right, and Seattle should be really high on this list.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
I mean, I'm interested to see where.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yeah, I'm a big fan. I'm curious where the Bengals
end up. I don't know that I picked the Bengals
against anybody against Tennessee right now, other than Tennessee, right,
I mean, in a head to head match, I think
I'm taking the Saints over the Bengals.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Right, Jets definitely the Jets. Dolphins, Yeah, you might, right, right,
and they're miserable. Number thirty is those New York Jets
and they haven't won yet.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
I get it. Oh and four the defense is worse
than I thought.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Yeah, yeah, and they just I mean think you have
a ninety six yard drive backbreaking at the at the
end of the first half. I think that they will
still be okay relatively.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
But yeah, I mean, you knew it was gonna be
a long.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
You knew it was gonna be a lobous. I didn't
think they'd start zero and four. But at the same time,
you know, it's it's not They're not progressing through the
month of September like you would have hoped to have seen.
For some of the talent and investment that they do have.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Yeah, and I'm looking up a stat that I retweeted yesterday.
And I'm not picking on our former buddy here justin fields,
but facts are facts.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Oh, I know where this is going. I think I
saw this too. Is at the twenty points.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Yeah, yeah, I mean this is when the team allows
when his team allows more than twenty points, and there's
a are just out on twenty points too, by the way,
he's owen twenty five. Oh in twenty five, and that
is never won a game when your team lets up
three touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
I saw that on Twitter a couple of days ago,
and that's one of those like this can't be right.
I gotta check more source. I mean I would buy
twelve five, twenty five three different organizations. Now, yeah, you
can't just say, oh, it's the Bears, sure, brutal, real, tough. Yeah,
not a good look. No no, right, speaking of not
a good look, that Tyreek Hill injury. My goodness, the

(05:32):
Miami Dolphins check in at number twenty nine.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
I would definitely haven't ahead the Bengals. I mean they
show signs of life. Probably the Raiders, right, I mean
Week one was terrible against the Colts, but lately, they've
been not the worst team in league. I mean again,
we're the have spiraled, like I think we thought they
might have the first two weeks of the season, and
this injury won't help obviously, but I mean they weren't
going anywhere anyways.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Number twenty eight is those Las Vegas Raiders. Even finally
getting a bit of a breakout game from Ashton genty,
they still fall the Bears this past week.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
And then they get bad news and lose their left
tackle Colton Miller. Yeah, and I forget the dude that's
gonna go in there, but he's horrible too. I mean
like that. Their line's been struggling bad all year.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
We talked about tybe maybe the worst line in the league.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Yeah, and it shouldn't have been. I mean, like it
was okay last year. It wasn't great, but it shouldn't
be the worst in the league. And then you lose
your best lineman.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
On top of it, Gino's turning the ball over way
too much.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Yeah, he's trying to do too much and there's no
running room for Gentis. Everything's on his own and Bowers
has been kind of limping along too. And back seventh,
the defense is bad, you know.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Not a great place to be, and they have to
go to Indianapolis and then host the Chiefs rough Sledding
here for the next couple of weeks. Twenty seven the
Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Like, I'm definitely having the Dolphins ahead of that.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
They dropped six spots this week.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
They're miserable and it's time to start talking about replacing
Bryce Young in the offseason, you know. I mean, they
gave up a lot to get up the one to
get him. This coach hasn't really done much. Tech McMillan's interesting,
but the defense is as.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Bad as ever, real bad.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Yeah, I mean, they're a miserable team right now.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I think you're right. Tech McMillan is Fun's bright spot.
I think he's gonna have a nice long career. Yeah yeah.
But other than that, that's the thing. From where Caroline
has been for these last few years, you would think
they would at least have some young bright spot building blocks.
They don't even really have that.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
I mean, just go to draftistory dot com and look
up the Panthers. They picked the top ten every year
and what are they the show for it? Yeah, not much,
not much.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Number twenty six, feeling good about themselves after a win,
although the loss of the league neighbors is massive. It's
the Giants at twenty six, up four spots from last week.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
I think I'd have him over everybody mentioned.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I think so too.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Yeah, I mean, I think there's some reason.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Their defense is nice. They just be a legit team
in the in the Chargers right right.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
I mean their front is good on defense for sure.
Abdell Carter had a massive game and looks like everything.
It was just like we said about Tech McMillan, like
you're happy with your first round pick and the first
round quarterback might be a dude, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I mean there's something to build on there, your boy,
Johnny Knoxville. I mean, Camp Scataboo has been has been
pretty electric as well too.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I mean they're happy with it. It's good draft class
so far.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Yeah, number twenty five. I'm gonna see start to see
some of this draft class, namely one of the two
quarterbacks that they took. It's the Cleveland Brands.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Check it out.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Five.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
We'll talk about their draft class a lot next year
because I hated their approach and I still do on
Draft Day. But the players they've picked. I hate it
because they ain't drafting offense.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Because they didn't drafting offensive line. I knew that's where
you're going.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
With such a shortage the league, and you'd always resource
you did in drafting offense lineman. But the players they've
drafted are real promising. We'll see what Lilan Gabriel looks
like against Flores. I bet it's not the same as
Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I bet it does not go as well for Minister
or for for Cleveland as it did for the Steelers
against the Vikings overseas this weekend. Yeah, twenty four Browns
at twenty five, Bengals at twenty four. Bengals down four
spots after dropping the second straight game.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
They'd be way lower for me. And again, maybe this
author does power ranks a little different than me, but
I do them. What are they this minute, this second?

Speaker 2 (09:11):
I don't care that you want the game tonight October First.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Let's a spread. You know, I always say if they
play a one hundred and eleven game series in Wichita, Kansas,
whom I pick it. You know I'm taking the Dolphins
over them. I'm taking the Jets over that.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
I thought I thought your point was spot on right now.
If they're playing on a neutral field against the other
thirty one teams in the NFL, the only one they
might be favored against is the titles.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Their dog against just about everybody.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, any you know, speaking of trade conversations, not Steelers
related here, just bigger picture for Cincinnati. Any thought we know,
we know Jamar Chase isn't going anywhere, but any thoughts
on maybe someone like t Higgins or someone like Trey
Hendrickson kind of floating some dangling some trade bait out there.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Hendrickson's contracts really interesting because everyone's like, well, they resigned him,
he's not moving anywhere. Well, he's a free agent after
the year. Still, they gave him a little more money
little shut him up, basically. But I think there's also
the other approach to which I wouldn't do, but I
would understand, is throw a six round pick of the
Giants for Russell Wilson and maybe he can get you

(10:11):
three more wins until Joe comes back.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
And you're eight and seven or eight Joe, yeah, or
you just sell.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Everybody and you know, picking the top five and draft
draft the best defensive end in the draft or whatever.
You know, it's an interesting I mean, if you were
a buyer, I'm not buying heavy. I mean it would
be just for like a Wilson, you know.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yeah. Twenty three up four spots after ah impressive blowout win.
It's the New England Patriots.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Drake May's playing tremendous at your boy, Yeah, he's playing really,
really well. I was listening to podcast here and they
were just talking about all the second year quarterbacks, including
Rattler who we brought up. And May's definitely had the
best year. I mean, Daniels has been an uneven It's
it's kind of hard to judge j Nick and down
he's been rough. Penni's had a really bad day. Taylor

(10:59):
Williams has been up in down but kind of promising.
But May's clearly had the best year I think.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
So Yeah, more encouraging from Bownicks lately, but still still
yeah seymore consistency, who's missing a lot of throws. Number
twenty two, fresh off a forty point shootout tie with
the Green Bay Packers. It's the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
Et the quarterbacks. I mean, there aren't five quarterbacks in
the league now playing Dak Prescott right now.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
That's a very interesting situation.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Matter for me, it is, I think their offense is
going to put up points against everybody. I think their
defense will allow points to everybody, especially when Lamb comes back,
which is still another four or five weeks. I think
it should be a while. But that's about properly ranked
for them. But they can they can score points on you.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
You know, they definitely can't. And Dak is playing well yeah,
I mean really well, you're right, and I wonder if
he could be seeking alternative employment come the end of
this year. Maybe maybe that's I think an interesting one
to follow. Number twenty one stay in the lone Star
State Hornstown Houston, Texans at number twenty one, up two

(12:02):
spots after getting their first win finally and convincing fashion
over tennisse.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Ers against a miserable Tennessee team.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
That's what they needed to do, though.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Yeah, and at least it gets a ball rolling and
now you get the I almost say it's a loser
leave Town match, but they play the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah, no, leave Town.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
I mean, I don't know if I'm ready to bury
either one of them at one and four, but you
know that pack at the Mars Out a few weeks
I know, well, they're definitely would think they're favored in
that game without Lamar. I haven't looked yet, and they
based on their defense. Their offense stinks so base the
defense is tremendous. But I looked at it. You know
how they have those odds percentage you make the playoffs
when you start blah blah blah. I looked at it today.

(12:40):
If you start one in four, it's a six percent
chance of making the playoffs since two thousand.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
So the Ravens lose that game six percent.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
See. I mean, the Ravens could be great and we'll
get to them November and December. They might be that's
time the beach and one eight in a row. But
you start one in four. History is kind one of
these two teams.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
No, it is not Houston currently just a one and
a half point favorite. The game is in Baltimore.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
No, I didn't know where it was at. And I
mean their offense is miserable. Houston's Yeah, it's idly disappointing.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
I was gonna say, I think they're one of the
more surprising in a bad way teams in the NFL
so far this season. Number twenty responded well after that
just bizarre Week three beat down in Carolina. It's the
two and two Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
You'll hear me do this a ton. If this was
Falcons Nation Radio, maybe we'd be saying things like they
had one bad day.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Yeah, and it does happen, And that's certainly absolutely on
the quarterback, young roster, new coaching staff.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
The stars aligned in the wrong way and you lost
to a terrible football team and played your worst and
your quarterback couldn't complete passes. And we may even say
that after seventeen games, like remember that in Week three
it was a weird albatross right right right? You know,
like last year the Ravens lost to the Raiders early.
I was like, that was weird.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Yeah, yeah, nineteen also at two and two back to
life a little bit after starting two and oh it's
the Arizona Cardinals. Probably fair.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
I saw Trey Benson just went on IR this morning too,
after Connor went on IR the Leafs before that.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
I wouldn't call it great, not great.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
No, I mean running backs are replaceable to some degree,
but you know, not great.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
No. The Cardinal yet they injury field week. They had
an injury field week, and I think they're they're in
some trouble. Without both of those guys in the backfield.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
They're definitely the weakest team in that division.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
To me, agreed. Yeah, yeah, Number eighteen probably feeling as
good about themselves as they have in a couple of years.
Two straight wins after two opening losses. It's the Chicago Bears.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
And if we were on Bears Nation Radio, I think
it'd be like the first overall pick and the wizard
head coach or starting to figure it out, you know,
like all right.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
We'd be saying we should have expected this to be
a slower process, but it's starting to come together for
him as we roll into octob.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Yeah, I mean, if you don't look through it. Side note,
I think DJ Moore could be had in trade too.
Now he's expensive too, But I mean, if we'd ever
have this conversation about.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Potential board of names to throw up on there, you
have them all there.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Not fitting in and Luthor Burden needs to get in
the action, and.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
You know they do have they've got a nice stable
of what certainly number seventeen, I don't know about this
a little low for my liking. It's the Vikings. At
number seventeen, they would definitely be the best team mentioned.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
We'll see who's around them. But I mean, I guess
the quarterback is situation.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Yes, it's a.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Problem, but the rest of the team and the O
line is a problem today.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
You know, I me see some of these teams in
front of them, though, I bet you we feel a
little bit better about the Vikings. Okay, let's do that number.
Sixteen down nine spots, Matt. In the eight years now
that I've been doing Steelers Nation Radio, I think this
is the lowest I've seen them. Baltimore Ravens, it's hard
to argue against.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Let's say they were in England right now and not
the Browns playing the Vikes. I think the Vikes are favored.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
I totally agree.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Yeah, I mean, had them versus Texans was like a
one point game in Baltimore. If they were in England
right now against Minnesota, I think they're.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Two and a half point favorite. Yeah, three and a
half point favorites.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
So I would have the Vikings ahead of them.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
They're just decimated by injury, not playing well, and the
schedule doesn't get that much easier. They still got a
couple of tough games on the horizon here in October.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
I mean lamar Aside, and that's you can't just say
lamar Aside. He's a multiple MVP superstar. They have fundamental
issues to begin with, and then they have like five
starters out on defense and Matta Bouquet is out for
the year, which is.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
A massive, massive, massive loss. Number fifteen the San Francisco
forty Niners down three spots after dropping their first game
of the season Sunday to the Jags.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
They played tomorrow against Seattle. That I'm not gonna pick
the I'm not gonna pick the Niners. They got a
lot of injuries right now. Christian McCaffrey's touching the ball
a ton. I hope he can hold the hold up.
Trent Williams is down. I've mentioned before I host a
podcast with the Locked On Niners host and he was saying,

(17:03):
it's very what like the when Bosa is out. Their
record is really terrible. Really, the splits with and without
both are really bad. Really, he's out for the ear
and it's rams on Thursday, isn't it. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
Seattle just played Area. We were across the pond. They
already settle yes, in the opening week of the season.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Yeah, yeah, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Number fourteen up two spots your Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Okay, I would definitely have them ahead of all mentioned.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
I think so too. I might have him a couple
spots ahead here.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Yeah, I have a feeling who's coming up, and I
understand them being in that same bucket. It's funny I
mentioned that podcast. We were asked today who's gonna win
more games? Steelers are Niners and they wanted us to
fight it out, you know, and we both said the Steelers,
even though they have a much stuffer schedule, although it
looks a little better now since he does not Burrow
and you know, yep, absolutely even the Niners said, these

(18:01):
are scheduling leagues said, I'm taking the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Niners are. I mean, I know the Steelers aren't completely healthy,
but the Niners are right. They're dealing with.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Knock on wood. I think Tomlin streak of having a
winning season sure looks in good shape. And I don't
know the Niners are gonna have winning season.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
So San Francisco has been weird all year to kind
of try and get the get the vibe of.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
And they they beat some bad teams early.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
They did. Yeah, some close wins in there too. Number
thirteen is the Jacksonville Jags up four spots after that
win over San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Okay, we can fight about them versus Steelers, and I
don't have the bandwidth to do it at the moment, but.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
They should be happy. I think Lawrence looks so good. Yeah,
I mean, I think the new coaches three and one
in your first four games.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Yeah, defense is playing well.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
I think the offense still has plenty of room for improvement.
Thomas going much more than Yeah, they've.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Had a ton of drops. I bet that doesn't keep up.
I think Hunter still has hasn't exploded on the scene.
But Mike, you know so, I think you should be
encouraged if you're in Jacksonville.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
This is an interesting one to me. Number twelve is
the two and two Denver Broncos.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
I still think the defense is awesome. It's great, and
I think the running game is good and they're both
good at both lines of scrimmage. Nix is holding them
back for now, so I guess that's fair. I would
have them, I guess over the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
Yeah, Knicks had some moments in that Bengals game.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
But yeah, I mean he wasn't asked to do much.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
They got to get him moved in the right direction.
That's their biggest kind of thing I think for the
month of October is getting him right. Speaking of which,
moving in the wrong direction. Number eleven, it's a little
rich for my blood.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
The Washington commanders, ooh, I'd probably have them five spots lower. Now, again,
I don't know who the author is, but it came
out today that I think Jayden Daniels was practicing, So
maybe you look at it through that lens and not Mariota.
Not that Marioda was horrendous, but I'll be honest, I've
been hard on WA watching from the start. I thought

(20:01):
they were overrated.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
You've been saying that since July. Yeah, not that they're terrible. No,
they're not. They're not a contender. Just four.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Yeah, I think their defense is bad and old.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
You know.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Into the top ten we go, Matt number ten. Who
saw this coming? It's the three and one Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
I don't think it's smoking mirrors.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
I don't either. No, I don't know if I they'll
get much higher than about tennis. Probably true, but I
don't think they're going to drop into the twenties. It's
at the rest of the season either.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
Have they hung with a really good Rams team and
I thought they might get blown out and maybe like
either an average team again, but they're not. They're they're
I really think they're going to playoffs.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
As long as Jonathan Taylor is running like he is,
he's been the best back in the league, They're going
to be a yeah, full They certainly have a lot
of weapons. Warren's been a star, you know, Number nine,
much like our Monty Python friends. I'm not dead yet. Yeah,
the Kansas City Chiefs not dead yet, will be back soon,

(21:00):
getting some reinforcements. Yeah, Chris Jones looking like he's knocked
off the rust. Maybe there's some Cam Hayward equivalence is there.
He looks like he's back to doing Chris Jones things. Yeah,
I think this is about right for campus.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Sound problem with it? And I bet they start creeping up.
If I were them, I'd be in the market for
like an Alvin Kamara. They're running back situations.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Or it is rough. Yeah, it's real rough. And again,
like you said, there's some of those teams out there
now where you can pinpoint. Yeah, you go get some help.
Number eight down four spots after a disappointing loss to
the Giants. It's the La Chargers. Hmm, it's a tough
one for me. Yeah, the Giants were so desperate and
as you and I talk about all the time, you

(21:41):
can say it's an excuse, but it is what West
Coast teams when they travel to the East Coast for
those one o'clock kickoffs, their records are terrible.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
It's bad.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
They win like thirty percent of the time in the
twenty first century.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
Sticking in my head with them being ranked here or
just in general, is in that In that game too,
they lost Joe Alt right off the bat and they
if I probably could have a pair of tackles to
build a round, it would be Slater and Alt. And
they lose Slater before the season, move all from right
to left and he doesn't miss a beat.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Stud tough for anybody.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
And then you lose them both. I mean, then you're
down to the the Eagles without my Lata and Johnson
exactly how much would that change what they right now?
I mean this did did they? Did they peak?

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Now?

Speaker 3 (22:21):
You know, like you're gonna be starting the Calvin Anderson
type guys of the world, you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Imagine what we you feel about Steelers if they lost
Roger Jones and Troy FOUTONU.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Right, and that pairing is better, right, I mean it's
just more accomplish, you know.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
It's that's that's an incredibly tough task. Yeah, it's one
thing if you lose an interior guy and you kind
of hide them a little bit, right, one, not both
of your books. Yeah, that's just trade for one. I mean,
like your stock down two spots after dropping their first
game of the season in a close one to the Eagles.
It's the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at seven.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
I wouldn't dig them for that. I mean, there's no
shame in that, to be honest with you.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
I mean they move from five to seven. It's not
a massive I think that's about right fair.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Yeah, I got no problem with.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
That number six staying at number six after being a
part of that forty point tie with the Cowboys. It's
the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Yeah, but it's two lackluster weeks in a row. I mean,
you lost the Browns, he tied the Cowboys. We talked
about both these teams a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Neither those teams are going to the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
No, newer team's going to playoffs. I'm still high on them.
You say I might move him down. I say, were
they favored against the Chiefs right now on a neutral field?

Speaker 1 (23:27):
No?

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Close?

Speaker 3 (23:28):
But yeah close? Okay.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Number five, here's your boys, met up eight spots for
their highest ranking of the season. The three and one
Seattle Seahawks on a three game winning streak.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
Another young coach that's doing good work. I think their
defense is elite. I mean, one of the top few
in the league. Darnold's been tremendous.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
Jackson Smith and Jig but has been out superstar too.
I thought he was good, but I didn't know he
would be this good.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
That's another team I might be in the market for.
If I can grab another receiver, i'd consider it. Cup
doesn't do anything for me.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
The LA Rams at number four, up six spots after
taking down the Indianapolis Colts and speaking of talented wide receivers, goodness,
Poka Nakua. He might be the best offensive player in
the NFL in the month of September.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Yeah, Like they give the way that Offensive Player of
the Year award that usually doesn't go to a quarterback.
I think he's the vote right now.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
If they're voting had to be done today. I mean,
it's like thirteen catches for one hundred and seventy yards.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
I know, it's remarkable. Stafford's been great. Their young D
line is phenomenal versus one of the best defensive ends
in the league. I think they're super well coach, great organization.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Good spy.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
I don't have much bad to say about the Rams.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
They could win the Super Bowl. You and I have
said it all along. I agree with you. As long
as Matthew Stafford is healthy. Yeah, are one of the
better teams in the NF no question. Number three Matthew
Stafford's former employer. Another team that I think some people
were starting to feel like, could this be the end
of the line for them? But they're saying, hey, don't,
don't write the obituary yet. Restraight wins. After that embarrassment

(25:01):
to open the season at Lambeau, it's the Detroit Lions
at number three.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Oh, line shaping up. I don't have a lot of questions.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Jameson Williams is taking places. Oh yeah, I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
You.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
My only question is can I win the Super Bowl? Yeah?
Right right?

Speaker 3 (25:15):
I mean I think they'll be in the hunt.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Right, now they're in a nice spot.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Like we've said, that window might not be completely open
like it was the last few years, but it might
still be eighty percent of the way open.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
With that squad right, certainly.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Could Number two, four and zero continuing to roll. No
One circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Yes, but their defense is underratedly or under reportedly bad.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
I mean, they need to be in the trade market
for some defense. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
And they've been throwing resources out of left and right
and it never seems to get any better. I mean,
if anything, the rails on them, it's going to be
a game that they lose forty to thirty eight and
Allen can only do so much, you know.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
In which we have seen in the playoffs. It happens
all the.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Time the playoff year, right, Yeah, rinse, repeat, you know.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
And then Number one staying locked in there for a
few straight weeks. Four and zero defending Super Bowl champion.
Impressive win in Tampa against the Bucks. It's the Philadelphia Eagles,
well earned, beating two really good teams the last two weeks.
Saying to them, you go to Kansas City and win,
and he'd beat three weeks. They went to Kansas City
and one. Then they beat the Rams at home, but

(26:21):
they went to Tampa and one. That's an impressive stretch
of three wins there.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
And maybe you're like, oh, it's f looky they've blocked
a kick, but I don't hear it.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
I don't hear much like the Steelers. Yeah, but even
to a greater extent, obviously, is they've been to three
Super Bowls in the last eight years, and one two
of them. They have a style of play. They don't
care if you don't like it. They don't care if
you don't think it's sexy. They're gonna win a ton
of games doing it.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
And they win in the margins like the Steelers two.
And the most encouraging thing to me, well, those three
wins are awesome. You would think you'd go two and
one in that situation if you're the best team in
the league. But when they had to, they could throw,
you know.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
Like, that's what we've been waiting to se Yeah, right,
two weeks in a row.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Okay, we'll pepper a J. Brown when we're losing. Like,
I guess that's a good thing to have. Like it's
weird when you don't need aj Brown, Yes, but you can.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
With everything else they've got. That's when you look like
the best team in the NFL. And I think that's
a fair spot for the Eagles to be here once again. Yeah,
there's our Week five power rankings.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
Matt.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
We've gotten some good tweets that I've kind of booked
marked over the last over the last day or so.
What do you say we get into some of those
as we roll along?

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Love It?

Speaker 2 (27:28):
We'll do that little little Twitter mail bag here on
a Wednesday, as we rock and we roll in this
final hour was Shooler Matt Williamson. It's the Drive on
Steelers Nation Radio on the Steelers Audio Network, your.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Tunes about Drive on your twenty four to seven home
of the Black and Goal Steelers Nation Radio.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Driving along here on a Wednesday, as the afternoon is
turned into the evening West Shuoler Matt Williamson with you
for a couple more segments here on the Drive, Matt,
I did want to get to some tweets that we've
gotten over the last day or two here on a Wednesday,
So let's hop right into the Yes, love it first
one from Angry Bike Lane on the on the ex Twitter, the.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Bikes in Ireland, by the way, and the driving situation.
I don't think we had this cover bit right. I mean,
some of the roads are so old, I understand it,
but like our bus driver is driving a big bus
through these tiny.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Little streets people on bikes. Rights so many bike city
but even more condensed in terms of the foot traffic
and the bike traffic in the And it.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
Was cute, like these little kids are walking to school.
It was, you know, Monday morning or whatever, Thursday morning,
on whatever day it was. There's there's nowhere to turn
and this guy's were driving this little huge bus and
I'm like, this guy's a monster. I haven't asked uber drivers.
I'm like, man, we don't have nearly as many bicycless,
Like I hate them all. Every uber driver I drive, like,
I hate them all and I just run them all

(29:07):
over because they just go right in front of you.
They do. It's it's crazy, it is.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
And it's like some of the stuff they have, like
a taxi bus only lane everywhere. Yeah I don't know,
it's just for buses and for uber drivers for taxis
and you can like take it like all the way
if there's a red light. You could take it like
all the way to the front of the red light
and then cut in front of the people that are
at the front. It's some of the traffic. There would
be so much road rage if if that was the

(29:32):
status in America. Yeah, yeah, so much road rage for me.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
And there was many signals I was looking at. I'm like,
could we go or not? I'm like, did you just
go to the red light and we're gonna get smashed?
You know, I just was overmatched.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
I always have thought I would have no desire to
drive in a foreign country for a lot of reasons.
You're on the other side of the road. You don't
understand all the signage.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
I've never understood the other side of the road thing.
I mean, okay, when.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
People tell me that, like, oh, you know, we were
like Rob king and they go to Portugal all the time,
not together. They both love Portugal and and Kinger Kinger
is always like, yeah, we go for two or three
weeks every year, and like I rent a car and
I'm like, that sounds miserable, that sounds like stressful, reinforced
by everything I saw. I would you'd have to you'd

(30:17):
have to pay me a six figure salary every year
to drive around in Dublin.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
That was my job when we went to Turks and
Caicos and you can't even like rent a nice car.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
I mean, they're all falling apart.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
I'll just give you some rusty hunk of crap. And
I'm on the wrong side and I hardly fit in there.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Yeah, yeah, you especially, yeah, and I'm.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
I almost killed my family four hundred times. I mean
especially like the roundabouts and stuff, you know, like, yeah,
they got a little better at the end, but yeah, like,
oh man.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
One of the funny, uh, one of the funny Dublin
stories that we haven't told yet was when we met
our buddy Steelers Nation Australia there and you and we
stood up to say hi to him and take a picture,
and he was like, oh, you're a big fellow, mate.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
Big bloke.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
I get that a lot people are like when you
meet in person, like you're a lot bigger than I thought. Right, Yeah,
I understand why your kids play volleyball if if they
get the height gene from you, for sure.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
I think it's more than just the height situation too.
It's probably like you could lose a few pounds too. Williamson.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
You know angry bike lane. Plenty of those in Dublin
as well too, tweets us and says, what is the
more preferred What is the better strategy giving up a
few third down conversion conversions or the bend not break
model where you give up more yards and plays but
you also get more opportunities for turnovers. Interesting, So I
think he means like, would you answer the question? I

(31:33):
think he means like, would you rather see the Steelers
defense get off the field more on third downs or
continue to do what they've been doing, which is giving
up maybe more yards than you would like, but forcing
a ton of turn I've forced a turnover and every
game and since the opener of Met Life they forced
multiple turnovers in the last three games turnovers. I think
so too. Yeah, it is a fair question. There's more

(31:55):
than one way to skin that cat to be an
effective defense, and.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
I bet both listeners are probab. I'll be like, well,
time possession, Williams and all. You talked about time possession,
and you're not helping I. You'd like to be a
blend of both, of course, you know, and frankly, there
aren't shut down defenses anymore. And it's you know, people
be like, well, I want the eighty five Bears. I
want the seventy six Steelers.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Get off the field on third down, force turnovers, be
good in the red zone, make plays.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Yeah, I'm more into explosives. But the time possession thing
is I'm kind of talking on both sides my mouth.
But if you have to pick one or two, I
want the one that's a big play. Defense that hits quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
I think so too.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
Any quarterbacks pays.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
Off, especially in this era. Yeah, and the way football
is legislated now, you say we are never going to
see two thousand and eight Steelers again. Defense, you know,
ray lewis ra under two hundred yards a game and
fourteen and a half points per game. Whatever it was,
it's just not happening.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
Coordinators are too good, the rules are too good, the
passing games too good. I mean back in those days,
I mean, especially like in the seventies, Bradshaw's touchdown to
interception ratio would be like one to one, right, you know,
like all the coaches like why would you throw it
two out of bat two out of three? Things are bad?

Speaker 2 (33:05):
You know, Like I will I will never forget this
during COVID. I'm sure you and Dale did a lot
of this same stuff during COVID. We're doing so many
draft your all time Steelers line up? Who are your
top ten? And every Steeler? All the different things that
we did to regurgitate content and all of that.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Yeah, we had a motes and I had during COVID.
We called it a like once and for all week.
I called it where we took all these popular Steelers
debates and we were like, we're gonna settle this once
and for all nice and one was and we let
people tweet them in that kind you know, made it interactive.
But one of the things that we did that week
was who's the best Steelers running back of all time?

Speaker 3 (33:42):
I mean, like I'm sure like Ben Burth, Bradshaw came up,
and yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
All those things, who's your Mount Rushmore? You know, like
all that stuff. One of the so when we were
having the running back conversation, we're.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
Gonna do it in the off season, by the way. Yeah,
yeah's as well.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
Yeah, I love it people, and you know it's funny.
As much as sometimes I think that that's like lazy
low hanging for radio. You never get more tweets and
more reaction and opinions than when you do that. So
the listener's clearly you joined.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
And somebody somebody can't, somebody doesn't get the answer.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
You know, right, which you know, Okay, best running back
in Steeler history and most is like, I want you
to go first. And I'm like, well, you know Jerome
this and Lev Bell that, and but it's frank O'harris
I mean. And Motes is like, yeah, it's Lev Bell
for me. He's like, do you know how many time
he goes? You know how many times he goes? He goes.
I love frank O Harris. He's like, he's a legend.

(34:28):
And this is in twenty twenty, you know, two years
before Franco had passed away. Mots Is like, I can't
say enough good things about Franco. Sure, but go on
Pro Football Reference and see how much he used to fumble.
Like he's like, oh, he's a lot. More like he's like,
you could not leave.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
He had there were games like six turnovers than he
would have.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
Double digit fumbles every season and it was okay, he's
still a pro bowler and an All Pro and an MVP.
And he's like, I'm sorry, I cannot have my all
time running back somebody who put the ball on the
carpet that much, I can't do it.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Yeah, times a little different, times are certain.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
He he acknowledged that too.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
You have to judge him against who they played against,
you know.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
You know, he played with Lev, so he's a little biased.
And it made for good conversation on the show, which
I like it.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
We'll hold it for the off season. But I did
do my all time team probably around COVID and Lev
was my running back. Now, after talking Labs and those
people made it clear that that it has to be.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Well again, it's it's you know, and it would It's
one of those do you want them at their best
day when you're guaranteed to get an A plus game,
or do you want their body of career, the longevity,
the work.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
The convincing part to me was value to the organization
at their time.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Oh, no doubt, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
It's Franco and.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Labs does a great job of Like the organization was
never going in the right direction until they drafted Joe Green,
but they never want a playoff game until they until
they had friends.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
I think Joe Green actually said that, yes, yeah, yes,
and running backs were super important then you know Earl
Campbell or said and Peyton and they're not replaceable and
running backs don't matter then by any means. But the
case for Bell is not crazy.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
No, it's not because he's.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
An awesome receiver too. Again especially adn't if Franco is
ever the best running back in the league, you know
what I mean, Like Tayton Campbell.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Yeah, O J.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
Simmons was unbelievable, Golden era of running back, right. I
don't think he ever was the best running back in
the league.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
I think Bell was one of the one of them.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
I know that's blasphemous. It's also blasphemous. Sorry, my new
buddy John Stalwarth. But ab is the best receiver too.
People will come through their the microphone to choke me
out on that, but he's the best receiver.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
TV strike this from the record, as nobody knows. But
I think you're absolutely right on that one too as
well too. To me, one of the most interesting, like
sitting at the bar with your buddies, sports debates you
can have is do you want the guy who had
the long jevity in the full body of work or
do you want the guy who was unstoppable at his peak. Yeah,
you know, and I prefer the unstoppable to speak me too.

(36:52):
Yeah yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
It's rarer.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
They absolutely are, and I think that that makes for
some fun debates from time to time. However, Matt, we
gotta get to our last break. A couple more tweets
on the other side to get us out of here. Well, Shuler,
Matt Williamson, final segment of the Drive coming at you
when we return. It's Steelers Nation Radio on the Steelers
Audio Network, your tunes.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
About Drive on your twenty four to seven home of
the Black and Goal. Steelers Nation Radio.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Final segment of the Drive. Here on a Wednesday, having
some fun rolling along. A couple more tweets to get
us up out of here. Probably too late for today's program,
but you know, you can always find us. You can
always get involved on the X Twist. As our brother
dal Lawley would have said, at Williamson NFL at Wesley Yuler,
me tweets us okay, and he says, do the Stellers

(38:09):
start Herbig over high Smith going forward? Herbig's body of
work this season has been impressive.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
We've kind of addressed it. We talked to with how
with Chris start. I mean that's that's the word in
the sentence as screwing me up, you know what I mean, because.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
That can mean a lot of different things.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Yeah, Like when it's all said and done, who plays
more snaps in their next game that they're both healthy.
Wouldn't shock me if it's Herbig, But first and ten,
the first snap of the game is probably gonna be
high Smith. I mean, he is better against the run.
Chris mentioned Herbig's getting better against the run. Sure, still

(38:47):
really good player. Yeah, I think, as we kind of
laid out an hour ago, I would love to take
ten snaps away from what I'd like to take fifteen
away from high Smith and Herbig's role before add it
to that and add five snaps a game and they're
all on the field together. And that's not as easy
to devise as people think, by the way, but sometimes

(39:08):
just put good football players on the field, you know.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (39:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
Yeah, And that's the biggest thing is that term starter
can be completely right in every sport. In basketball, you'll
have a starter, but the six man off the bench
plays more minutes than him does. Still, But it's just
something about setting the tone of the way you want
to play right out of the shoot that leads to
the one guy starting. In terms of the snap counts,
I think we're going to still see a significant number

(39:33):
for her Big. Yes, maybe he's third of the three,
what his role is not going to be suddenly drastically
reduced when high Smith returns down? How he possibly can
You can't?

Speaker 3 (39:44):
And again, I mean this is a conversation for the
off season, But you consider trading high Smith and extending
her Big. I mean, I'm strongly considered extending Herbig no
matter what I mean, like I just can create and
walk away for a future third round pick, you.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
Know, absolutely not last one. Before we get up out
of here, power Grid Janitor tweets us and said, says,
slancha to the boys. You know what that is now,
don't you? Uh? Yes, but that's cheers and Irish and
Irish launcha yes, uh, slancha to the boys, slaunch you

(40:17):
to you as well. Comparing our wide receiver injury to
the Giants, I think we are fortunate it was Calvin
Austin and not you know, dk Metcalf wide receiver number one.
If a team loses a wide receiver uh. Number one,
you know, it's almost impossible to kind of ask your
next man up to step up. Does this heighten our

(40:38):
urgency to find another wide receiver? Number two? We talked
about the second part of that. Yeah, in the first hour.
I mean, you're right, like, I don't want to say
that it's fortunate that it was, you know, somebody to
look at other than DK Metcalf.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
Right, just because the Giants lost neighbors doesn't mean, oh,
we're lucky we're not them. Yes, you know there's thirty
teams that didn't lose a guy.

Speaker 2 (40:59):
I would rather not lose a wide receiver, obviously, but
I do understand kind of the overall premise of the question,
and the Steelers would goes about saying thank you, captain
obvious be in huge trouble now if something were to
happen to DK Metcalf, that's a worst take, worst case
type scenario and all the I.

Speaker 3 (41:17):
Mean, I'm not gonna want to say this, You've said this,
everyone in the world said it is okay, maybe they
don't need another receiver, but what if Metcalf gets hurt?
You know what I mean? Like, no matter what we
said that in Yeah, and we saw it with Pickens.
I mean, he would be great to have another. And
Tom and I say this all the time on the
pre pregame show. It's like, yeah, you can survive with

(41:38):
these guys, but I want to thrive with these guys.
I don't want to survive. I mean I want to
win eleven games on playoff game, you know, like I want.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
To be five and one here in a couple of weeks. Yeah,
and then and then seven and three or seven and
two a couple of weeks after that.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
Yeah, when Chris Olave and Metcalf.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
Lining up with each other, you know, like Kobe Meyer
and somebody.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
Like asking Santa Claus, you know, I mean, I'm not
asking for it.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
Might have kind of like, you know, all right, last
one I got for you. I saved this for the
very end. Every once in a while, Motes and I
would do this thing called What's bothering Me where we
just have to get something football related off our chest
for sixty seconds to end the show. Can people stop
complaining about the halftime show?

Speaker 3 (42:18):
I didn't know that that was a complaint.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
Oh yeah, it's bad. Bunny, who's a Puerto Rican artist
who is like I know, yeah, I know, you love
Taylor Swift. He might be. He's the second most stream
artist in the world right now, behind Tell You Say.
But people are upset because he's not big in America
and he's got some political views that people don't agree with. Yes,
this was just announced a day or two ago.

Speaker 3 (42:39):
I know he's madly popular.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
Who cares? There is nothing I care less about than
the artist or band who does the halftime show. What
are we doing here?

Speaker 3 (42:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (42:46):
They play five songs for twelve minutes and it's all
lip sync. Anyways, I understand now I'm doing it. I understand.
We live in an outrage society where everybody wants to
be perpetually pissed about something. Who cares it's a twelve minute,
made for TV lip sync show. Unless unless John Lennon
and Jerry Garcia and Biggie and Tupac are coming back

(43:09):
to do the halftime show. I don't give a rip.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
Yeah, yeah, I again, I didn't even know that was happening.
That's how much I care about it.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
That's what I love about you, Matt. You are ball
and straight ball only, and I'm the one who has
to get caught up in the spin cycle of the
outrage machine. If you're complaining about the super Bowl halftime show,
you're doing it wrong.

Speaker 3 (43:29):
Yeah, who would? I can't imagine.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
That's when I go to the bathroom and get more
food and like, check my phone. I don't give a
rip about a twelve minute lip SyncE halftime show. And
if it's one of your favorite artists, watch cool. Even
if it is, guess what, they're not really performing. They're
lip syncing, and it's the most rehearsed produced production ever.
It's not a real live show. Get out of here,
miss me with that. Not to be critical, that's what

(43:53):
was bothering me.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
I totally get it.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
But that's what I like about you, met is you
are just straight ball. You are just ball and not
phased by anything else. If you're out there complaining about
the halftime show, guess what, you don't have to watch.
No one's gonna force it.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
They're not going to be there.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Yeah, I guess if you're going to leave stadium.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
Right, and you were hoping that you're paying somebody yourand
and you're like, I'm lumping that in as part of
my package.

Speaker 2 (44:17):
Kingstein or one of those type of artists.

Speaker 3 (44:18):
Okay, fine, well you're most of you aren't going.

Speaker 2 (44:21):
Other than that, go on YouTube and put on a
twelve minute concert clip from somebody that you would rather
How about that. It'll be the same effect. Big thanks
to Chris Hallick for joining us today. Big thank you
to Tyler V mister TV, our YouTube video producer. And
a shout out to the best co host in the business,
Matt Williamson. That'll do it for us today. We'll be
back tomorrow. Like Matt said, little spoiler alert for you. Tomorrow,

(44:43):
we're going to do a beefy segment on some of
these college quarterbacks, good good and a couple of the
names we've been discussing, a couple of new names that
have certainly thrown their hat into that ring. That'll be
one of the things that we do to.

Speaker 3 (44:55):
Get to it. But I just got an email. I
subscribe to that JT. O. Sullivan Quarterback School, and like
five minutes ago in my inbox, he's breaking down Dante
more birth Penn State. So I'm gonna hope to watch
that tonight so I can speak more intelligently about him.
I've been wanting to dig in heavy.

Speaker 2 (45:12):
He's on everybody's radar after a very impressive start to
the season in a great performance there right in that
hostile environment, the white out and Happy Valley. We will
definitely talk about him tomorrow. Penn State fans might want
to tune out for those few minutes, but the rest
of it, I promise. I think he's going well past
all or at the moment. Oh yeah, yeah, he's in
the proverbial of the draft is this weekend. Yeah, he's

(45:33):
a top five pick, I would imagine, I mean like
he might be the first off usual Mendoza, I do
have a couple couple new names. Quarterback in Bama that's
been lighting up, quarterback in Tennessee that's been lighting it up.
Will throw a couple new names into that conversation. Continue
to talk about what looks like what could be one
of these five, six, seven quarterbacks picked in the first
round type of years in the NFL draft. Of course

(45:54):
that is going here, that is going to be on
the north shore of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in April, and certainly
could one of those guys heading to the Black and Gold.
But we'll get to all that and more tomorrow. Take care, everybody,
We'll talk to you soon. As always, you know where
to find us. It's on your twenty four to seven
home of the Black and Gold. It's the Steelers Nation
Radio on the Steelers Audio Network.
