the Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Shop and by us Steel.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Coming down the home stretch of practice here for your
Pittsburgh Steelers. Another team period here moving from left to
right as Aaron Rodgers exits after a few reps, and
now Skyler Thompson will check in. Matt, I wanted to
ask you.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Us it's a new heart throb of the city.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
Man.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yes, you used to.
Speaker 5 (00:56):
Never be able to say anything bad about Will Howard.
Now if you mentioned anything bad about Skyler, get your
head bitten off.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Nobody, nobody in Pittsburgh sports is more popular than the
backup quarterback who has not yet played meaningful time for
the Steelers. I remember, I remember as a kid it
was Brian Saint Pierre. You know what all these different
people that I mean, heck, for a long time, it
was Kenny Pickett, you know what I mean, until until
(01:22):
he ended up being the guy like now it's Will Howard.
There was nobody in Pittsburgh sports. Sorry Troy Polamalu, Sorry Sidney, Sorry,
sorry Sidney Crosby. Nobody in Pittsburgh sports. It's more popular
than the backup Steelers quarterback who has yet to play
meaningful action.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
For the Black Killer.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Now they can turn very quickly, but it's a good
place to be. Why you could get it? Uh, Matt,
I didn't want to ask you. One of the things
that I had in my you know, very extensive notes.
I do a ton of show prep before you sit down.
It was about Scotty Miller and we saw him catch
a nice pass there from Rogers at the start of
(02:01):
team period over the middle of the field. That made
me think of this, what do you think his case
is for a roster spot. He's intriguing one.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
He's an intriguing one to me. So I think the
same is true for and this isn't gonna sound great,
and it isn't great, but for Rock Taylor and Hurlman
and Eleven Johnson. I mean, all those dudes are all
trying to make a case, and there's not a lot
of spots available, and we'll make a big fuss out
of it, and our listeners will be on the edge
(02:30):
of the seat and all of their opinion over these
next couple of weeks as well. But when it's all
said and done, and one of those fellas makes the team,
and this is true for Miller who's been in the league,
as well as Hurlman, who I'm excited about, and the
other two I know there's excitement too. And Johnson played
some meaningful snaps actually pretty high up on the depth chart,
which I think is noticeable. And I'm not saying they
have no chance to be good players. But when you
(02:52):
get to like week four, you kind of forget about
all the camp buzz and you get to the point
where if you put those guys on the field, the
opponent says, thank you, you know what I mean, General Chefsky,
Alan Robinson, you know, like in the end, they don't.
It's not a knock on those guys, right exactly. I
(03:14):
just think that to some degree, I think Connor Hayward's
that guy when he's on the field on offense. Okay, good,
I'm happy he's on the field. He's not real hard
to play against, and maybe they'll prove me wrong. And
one of those four will probably go on to have
a really good career. And Miller's already been a success story.
But that's part of my logic for I'd still be
(03:35):
open to trading for a receiver. So none of them
make the team, and and again they're perfect examples of
I want all of them to be back here next year,
you know, for under that premise. But I think you
know what you're getting with Miller and it's fine, and
there is a toughness and a reliability and he has
some big playability, but he's smaller and he will do
(03:57):
the little things and he's your back up holder and
special teams and that's great. And he's is kind of
hard to cut, don't get me wrong, But I don't
think boy, his career is going to get rejuvenated and
he's going to catch adye balls, you know what I mean.
Like in the end, you're probably looking to get better
than that as your best is your last wide receiver,
(04:19):
you know.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
And I think that's fair.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
I think that's.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Fair because I mean, to me, you're offensively not special teams. Wise,
I want Scornic to be my worst wide receiver and he's.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Going to be active on game day.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
Like if Pierre is my worst corner, I get it
because he's so good on special value special and the
guys ahead of Scornic where I don't think Miller's a
lot better than Scornic, but I want the guys ahead
of Skornic to be noticeably ahead of them, you know,
the Austin Wilson, Metcalf and McLaurin. Yeah, I mean, perfect wayeah.
(04:54):
And I'm not even implying they should trade for McLaurin.
But that's how you build a receiver room, you know.
I mean that that's a big time receiver room.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
You know what I mean. That's not that's not a
good enough for him, you know, I ope, it's good enough.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
I completely completely agree. Yeah, Like, you're right. That doesn't
mean that cutting him is easy.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
No, I mean, he very well can make the team,
and if I build my fifty three, he's got a
good chance to be on it.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
But I would rather that be Christian Kirk. You know,
I am.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
I am with you on that one certainly.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
Or next year, is that your second round pick? You know,
something like that that has a six or three dude
that runs a four to four that has work to do.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
You know, it looks like we are in a hurry
up offense situation for the ones. Here is Rogers fines
Metcalf for a quick first down. Let's stick with this here,
Matt before we get into.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Total unblocked pressure.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
There, that's your sacker, a throwaway throwaway as the clock
will stop momentarily, we'll get into these quarterback tiers here
and just a miss the Aaron Rodgers ranks and what
we agree with what we don't disagree with from the always.
I think very good Mike Sando quarterback tiers that he
does around this time every single year.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
I know Mike well used.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
I worked with him at ESPN for ten years, see
him at several Yeah, I mean I consider him a friend,
a friend on Facebook, blah blah blah, and that's a
big ordeal. His quarterback tiers are really well sought out.
He's like the ultimate professional. I'm a big Sando believer.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
I agree. Uh, it's funny. We like a lot of
like the the Dame Bruglers, the Mike Sandos. I think
the athletics done a good job of consolidating those guys
as another quick here hit her here to chronicle move
the chains for the offense. They're now in plus territory
at the thirty five with a fresh set of downs.
Roger's still operating from the shotgun throws right and another.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Quicken yards there six to seven yard.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
And this could also be one of those we needed
to get in a field goal situation type. Yeah, like
we don't know exactly.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
If they're down five or if they're down two.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Right right, we don't know exactly what the and a
half situation.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Hurry up, exactly.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Right, exactly right. I was trying to see, like if
they had Ben Sall's on standby, you know, ready to
run in exactly right. But I do not see twenty
nine lingering anywhere close to the playing field here. All
the special teams guys are. They're standing over there on
the sideline, so I guess not from the action. Yeah,
(07:19):
as Rogers.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Of scrimmage too, so yeah, probably they might.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Be actually yeah, Rogers second and four here operating from
the shotgun. Trio wide receivers to the left, goes that
way to Scotty Miller, who's able to get out of
bounce and pass the sticks for a first.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Down probably like six seconds of clock.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Hey, you'll take that. You'll take that in this in
this situation here as DK Metcalfe will check back in,
offense will huddle up. Now with the clock stopped, with
Scotty Miller getting out of bounds, we'll see. We've seen
this a couple of times in Camp Matt where the
first team has done a good job of working their
way down the field in one of these scenarios and
then fall apart at the red zone or at the line,
(07:56):
or throw an interception, or.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
They've had two thirds or four fifths of a really
good drive, and then in the end the defense makes
a play you know.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Exactly right. So we will see if they can finish
the job.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
Defense turnovers, Baton passes that type of thing.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Rogers under center now to give to Jalen Warren. He
will bounce around and fall.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Forward another way get cheap yards.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
I assume that he calls knew that with the time
out in his back pocket and called the timeout, which
is exactly how this is looking exactly right, and it
looks like spend for to get in field right to
get field goal range. I think it was mission accomplished.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
I think so. I think so as it looks like.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
They don't even bother kicking it.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
They're not even going to bother.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
To kick it.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
Yeah, but I think now they're going to change sides
and run it back with the second team. We'll continue
to keep you posted with some observations. But what do
you say we get into some of this quarterback team.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
Second team has done well in these hurry ups. They
have Skyler. Skyler and Rudolph both have orchestrated good drives.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
I agree with you up here in with Trump.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Yeah, guys like Harlman and Robert Wood have I think
shown well.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
It's hard to be on the same page in a
hurry up. It absolutely you can tell the experience of
Rudolph and Tyler or Skyler did some good stuff with
these two, including in the game.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
He absolutely did. Let's see here, we'll just do a
quick check. See if our guy Pete is still operating.
That's a left guard left It looks like it because
he's standing.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
He's out there.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
I think he's standing in the left guard. No, he's
back at tackle.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Uh No, I don't think he's out there.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
No, he's not out there. You are correct, he's standing
right here on the sideline in front of us. Part
of me.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, he's always in a different spot to find.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Always in a in a different spot out there is Okay, it's.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Close enough that he might run out there and get
some tops.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Well, we'll we'll have to keep an eye on that,
certainly as Co one two, Robert Woods. All right, Matt
quarterback tears. Let's get into this a little bit again.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
And I haven't really looked at these. I'm excited to again.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Well number one. Uh and, and there's five tiers of
quarter So that's how this is broken down. Yeah, there
are five tiers of quarterbacks one to one, not to
anybody's surprise. Patrick Mahomes. Yeah, a quarterback that can carry
his team each week. The team wins because of him.
He has no real in his game.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
That's the definition of a Tier one quarterback that Sando
put together. And I think what he does. I think
there's fifty people in the league, and I've talked to
Mike behind the scenes. They're not just like rookie new
scouts or assistant tight end coaches.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
I mean, these are.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
Guys that are decision makers for the most part high
up and they have to put a one, two, three,
four or five next to every quarterback, and he gets
great responses, and he picks and chooses the verbiage he
gets back.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
And those type of things.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
And as you mentioned, Rogers was the king there for
four years in a row, and Mahomes is kind of
on that path.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
As you would expect as well.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
But you mentioned it that the dudes nipping at his
heels are nipping harder than ever.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
That's that's what they say. I think Mahomes is the
best quarterback to ever live, but the gap is smaller
than it was a year ago.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
One offense, I think Mahomes the best quarterback they ever lived.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
One offensive coordinator in the AFC said that last year
I saw headline saying something to the effect of Patrick
Mahomes is having his worst year to date and the
Chiefs were nine to zero and undefeated. This is when
a guy is too good for his own good.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Everyone talked about the Chiefs like they took some massive
step back last year and they rested all their guys
in the final week against the Broncos. They were really
like fifteen.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
And one and went to the Super Bowl yet again,
and went to the Super Bowl second, didn't go well,
but they A bad year for them is when they
go to the Super Bowl and lose.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Correct. Oh, you lost comfortably in the super Bowl. That's
a bad year.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
Uh, the Bills and Ravens in the AFC, and you
know who were about to get to I have a feeling.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
A defensive coordinator in the AFC, West said, criticizing him
as like walking into the Sistine chapelain saying, I like
Michelangelo's drawing, but the color is off.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
I mean, what's crazy about Mahomes And this is a
compliment for the most part, is like his average depth
of target goes down every year, and everyone's taken away
the big play kill but he's just very patient checking
it down, taking what you give him in a very
Brady mechanical like fashion. But he also has all the
(12:23):
big play flair and he's remarkably good on third downs
last year.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
I mean efficient, I.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Think officient is a very good year, very good word
to use for him. Still in the first tier. Second
ranking is Joe Burrow. Okay, the closest I have ever seen.
I'm a little shocked he's He's absolutely in the top four.
I'm a little surprised.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
He would be my fourth. I think there's four superstars.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
There's four superstars, without a doubt.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
Yeah, and the little I did see, I think more
than four are in Tier one right now, I would
have four Tier one, and.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
There are more than here in Tier one. But yes,
Burrow ranked number two all seventeen games last season, led
the NFL, and attempts leed the NFL, and completions led
the NFL in yards, let the NFL in touchdowns.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
It's pretty good. We mentioned earlier in the show. I
mean their neutral pass rate is way higher than everybody else.
I mean they don't have a running game or defense
to rely on at all.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
And so yeah, that's number two in the first tier.
Is Joe Burrow number three? Josh Allen.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Allen versus Lamar to me is a total coin flip.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
You would have them two and three and then they
would borrow four.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
Mahomes is clear one, Burrows pretty clearly four and the
other two to me are tied. And again we're talking
about do you like the Hulk.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
Or Iron Man better? I mean, these are all the Rangers,
you know.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
Right, you like their godfather that departed more right?
Speaker 2 (13:49):
And these are the top four clearly and they're awesome.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
The answers that departed by the way, Josh Allen number
three toughest quarterback to defend in the National Football League.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
Understand that Dale and I went back and forth about
this late in the year because the m VP really
came down to Lamar or Allen. I mean, they were
clearly the top two. And frankly, it's Chocolate Vanella's, Strawberry
Rocky Road. There's no there's no wrong answer there. Dale
ended up being right. He thought Allen should win it.
(14:22):
I thought Lamar should win it. I thought Lamar had
a better year, Like he threw like forty one touchdowns
to like three interceptions. But Dale's point about Allen is
a really strong one in that who else on the
offense is even a star? Maybe James Cook but kind
of yeah, he's a good player, right, I mean they
have some good linemen, but even like that whole roster
(14:44):
doesn't have a great difference Maker's fine, but they're not stunts, right,
I mean, they don't have Justin Jefferson or even on defense,
they don't have the TJ. Watt pass rushers, right, Mark Chase,
guy that just keeps you up at night, except for him,
except for him.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Yeah, correct, And man, does he keep you up at
night without a doubt. He said, where some of these
other guys are like a surgeon, Josh Allen is like
a bull in a china shop.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
Yes, but he's become way more surgical, way more surgical.
He used to have five scratch your head, punch the
wall plays, and they've disappeared.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
They have.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
And another thing that's huge is we've talked about this
a ton. I mean, we've talked sacks to no end
since we've been in Saint Vincent and the importance of
them and not taking sacks and generating more sacks from
steelter his perspective, Alan does not take sacks at all
at all. And it's him and he's got he's got
a good line. It's it's an art to not.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
He's gotten rid of the hero ball stuff. Doesn't take sacks,
doesn't turn it over. That's why he won his MVP.
Last year's remarkable Lamar number four. Still in the first year,
number four, he has grown by leaps and bounds.
Speaker 5 (15:55):
He has grown by leaps and bounds as a pocket passer,
in particular.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
I think he's so under rated in that regard. Last
year four and seventy two passing yards, forty one touchdown
passes to only.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Four interce that's insane.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
His sack rate when dropping back just four point six percent.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Yeah, he's another one that's impossible to sack.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
Yeah, but his pure pocket stuff is so much better
than given credit for.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
I completely completely agree. Only Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield
made bigger year over gains in their average vote than
Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 5 (16:29):
So here's a weird conversation, like when you start building
the best ten quarterbacks that ever lived. Mahomes has been
in conversation for me for number one for already for
a couple of years, and he's definitely in there. I
don't think Burrows yet to that point, although he has
gone to a Super Bowl and the other two haven't.
But I think Alan and Lamar need to be I
know that some people are like roll their eyes at
(16:51):
this space switch because the one's a raven. Are they
much different than like Marino?
Speaker 3 (16:57):
No? I mean, but there's also a reason why we
talk about Reno differently than Lway and Montana and Farth.
Speaker 5 (17:02):
I know, I know, and that is something to do
with it, don't get me wrong, But in terms of
all time greats. Those two, to me are making a
very strong name for themselves.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
I completely agree. And I know this is a little
this is not exactly this is not exactly what you
were asking. But I that's something that I always kind
of drives me crazy. Is like, listen, I understand, it's
a team game, especially football, it's the it's the ultimate
team game. But like when you're talking about greatness winning
at the highest level as part of the conversation, you
(17:34):
can't just excuse it. If Tom Brady had two Super
Bowl rings instead of seven, people wouldn't be calling him
the unanimous goat.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Oh no, no, Like you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
And so I think, especially for quarterback.
Speaker 5 (17:46):
At that position, it means more than defensive tackle. You know,
we're not going late Aaron Donald.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
It means more to me than it does for Paul Skins.
It means more to me than it does for Sidney Crosby.
Like you are the quarterback man, that ball is in
your hand all the time you are on the field,
for every play that your offense runs. It's not schemes
where he's on the mound once every five days. It's
not Crosby where he plays thirty three percent of the.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
Game, and we're talking about the top one percent. You know,
we're not comparing them to Matt Ryan, who is good.
We're talking about comparing them to Brady.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
To me, when you're splitting hairs ten years from now,
we're talking Josh Allen and Joe Burrow versus Peyton Manning,
and those guys have no Super Bowl rings. Like I'm sorry,
that matters.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
It does, I mean, there's no question about it. That
being said, there's one thing I have to say is.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
And again, there's nuance to that argument. I'm not just
trying to blanket that over everything.
Speaker 5 (18:37):
But during this era, during the Chief's dominant era, let's
say the last eight to ten years, whatever it is,
during this time where Alan Burrow, Jackson Mahomes are the
best players on the planet. Just their playoff numbers. Alan
destroys every ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Destroys, best playoff quarterback of all time. All you just
look at their numbers on a spreadsheet.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
So like, I know, oh, they haven't won the Big One,
and they've had some heartbreakers, but ain't his fault. It's
like post in a perfect game and lose, Right, you
know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Right?
Speaker 5 (19:09):
I let up two walks and you know that was
it and and some of me an er and score
and I lost one nothing.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
It's like, well, I kind of did my job, you know.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Still and I completely agree. Still in tier number one.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
See that's where tier one would end for the.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Same here, same here, but still in tier number one.
Ranked fifth is Matthew Stafford. I like his ranking at
five here, Okay, I think it's where he belongs.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Like I think he's probably the best NFC quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Yeah. And I just every time that I turned on
a Rams game this past year, I was like, man
Stafford's dealing.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
He's like a stude.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
He at thirty seven years old, still has it.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
Now he's fighting a back thing right now. And one
little nugget, little stat that started to creep up that
I don't love.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
That happens to almost.
Speaker 5 (19:50):
All quarterbacks at that age, including Ben, including Rogers, and
is his discrepancy of when a clean pocket when he's.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Pressured got a lot greater this last year or so.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Makes sense.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
He's just not thriving under pressure as much as he
used to, you know, And that happens to all these
guys late in life.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Unless your name's Tom Brady.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
No doubt. So that's it for Tier one. Okay, So
that's it.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
I can live with him, and I can't.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
I can too. I thought it was when I first
looked at it, I thought it was a few more
as well. But I can live with it. I'd still
probably have.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
A great body of work he's going, no doubt, and I.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
Would probably have him leading off Tier two. But I'm
I'm not. I'm not, you know, upset about it. Yeah,
Tier two now sixth overall. Jaden Daniels.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
I don't know a problem with that.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
I don't either. Might be a little too early, but
basically what he did last season, I don't have a
problem with it right now.
Speaker 5 (20:42):
Like Stroud was in that neighborhood last year after his
rookie year, and it's hard to stay there and from
year one to year two. Frankly, my number five behind
the super four would be Herbert, but I understand both
these guys being right there.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
And Herbert seven not too far off right behind Daniels.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
In Tier two, hers was super impressive.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Like he was. He absolutely was an.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Organization around nonsense. It was quarterback stuff.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Yeah, Herbert seven. Jared Goff number.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Eight, No you're gonna lose me a little.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
Still in Tier two, wins a lot of games, and
now system quarterback is like possession receiver. People look at
that as such a negative.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
And it shouldn't be.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
I agree, but he I don't think he elevates those around.
I mean, I think he was in a perfect environment
for him, and I am gonna ding him a little
bit for that. Been really successful though, I mean really
really good with the Lions. I just seem more athleticism,
more playmakers, staff.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
I agree, higher ceiling. Yeah, so he's at number eight.
Stroud is at number nine, still in Tier two, Okay.
Speaker 5 (21:57):
I mean Goff had a better year than Stroud and
has a better body of war, But I mean I
would probably prefer Stroud.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
I think so too. And hey, he's still just twenty
three years old with two years of experience already. But
it's time for him to really show it and take
a clear step forward this season.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Yeah, I think you will.
Speaker 5 (22:14):
And worries me that the AFC might have another guy
that's like the top five.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
I know, dude, it's crazy.
Speaker 5 (22:19):
It's like, I don't know that it's crazy to think
if we do this a year from now, the top
six are the super four, Herbert and Shroud.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
It's like, oh, they're all on the freaking AFC.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Right, maybe, but like maybe seven in.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
The takes a step back people around him that.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Do on me, Matt Will, I think you're right there happening.
Number nine. Let's get in the top ten here and
then we'll take a break. Number nine. I think probably
if you asked everybody around the league, fans, media to
make their list of top quarterbacks, maybe the guy who
has the most range of highest and lowest Jalen Hurt,
Super Bowl champion.
Speaker 5 (22:53):
Yeah, and I'm more on the downside of him. But
your point about winning and he's played his best in
the best games is super important. He is very difficult
to play against. But his regular season wasn't that great.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
It was last year, it wasn't.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
I mean, it really was lackluster.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Remember like halfway through the season there was all that
dust up about like are him and A. J. Brown
not getting along? And is there problems there in Philadelphia?
Speaker 5 (23:20):
I think it was like week ten, somebody seven straight
games then they wanted to right right, But somebody interviewed
Brown and it was like week ten and said, well,
what's wrong with this?
Speaker 2 (23:29):
Team. He said the passing the passing game right right, that'sat.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
Actually the word he said was passing passing, Yeah, which
I don't know if it was him and DeVante Smiths
fall as much as the guy getting the ball.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Yeah, I have a problem with him. The top ten,
I don't. I think he'd be outside mine.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
I think that's fair. I think that's fair. Did I
did I miscount here?
Speaker 4 (23:47):
So?
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Seven?
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Was?
Speaker 3 (23:49):
I think I miscounted? Seven? Was Herbert?
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Eight?
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Was Golf? Nine? Was Stroud? Okay? And then hearts ten? Sorry?
So I I I'm messed up there with my with
my counting. Who leads off or who kind of wraps
up Tier two? Here? Where's Aaron Rodgers on this list?
We're getting close? Yeah, to from Aaron Rodgers will kind
of continue this conversation when we return on the other side.
(24:12):
Where's Aaron Rodgers? Who are the guys in front of him?
As we have a little quarterback tier conversation here post practice,
DK Metcalf working on the jugs machine down there. Things
a little bit quieter here today post practice, but still
plenty going on that we will continue to describe for
you as well. West Huler, Matt Williamson. It's all part
(24:32):
of our training camp coverage here on Steelers Nation Radio
on the Steelers Audio Network.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
I Heeartradios Live coverage job Dot twenty twenty five Steelers
Training Camp. He's presented by Vedex where now meets Next
and also brought to you by CGR Wholesale Roofing and
Siding Supply Center, by Tom's Appliances, by Always Safe Flagging
and Traffic Control by Greater peace Burg Community Food Bank
(25:01):
by Schneider Down. It's by Hossage Steak and Seahouse, by
your Neighborhood Ford Store, by Castle Rockerck, by Clearview Federal
Credit View, and by us steal.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Back.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
On campus here at Saint Vincent College, where Will Howard
continues to be the most popular man, they brought a
group of I think it's like a high school or
a middle school football team down there or something, and
they brought one of the guys over and the whole
team was going not going. We could hear Matt's like
is at Rogers And I was like, I think it's TJ. No,
(25:37):
it's Will Hired maybe, who continues to be the homecoming
king here on campus as it is mostly quiet down there,
John new Smith working the jugs machine, Doug Nester and
Skyler Thompson working on some center quarterback exchanges. That'll be
something to keep an eye on. How they use nestor going.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
For some center stuff today.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Run if you reps at center today, Yeah, one of
the team periods. So something for us to search in there. Yeah,
sharping was far from perfect center in the game. Yeah,
and hey, you need that's a that's a position you
better feel confident, And that's a position you better feel
pretty secure and and everything that you're doing without a doubt.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Need some reliability there.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
Back into this quarterback tiers conversation, rankings conversation.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
Curious where Rogers ends up, So we know these rankers
have a great respect for his body.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
Well, yes, of course, yes, we are still in tier
two eleventh overall. Baker Mayfield to the used to be
a wild man. Now he's contained.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Yeah, yeah, I think that's about right.
Speaker 5 (26:36):
Might be a little rich, but he's had really good
running game, really good O line, great receivers, but he's
come on very strong.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
The last couple of years with Tampa.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
Agreed, I think he maybe a spot or two too high,
but I maybe he is in that eleven to fifteen
range I think is perfectly fair for him. Yes, Yes,
One thing I'll give him credit for is man, it's
like every year he's getting his offensive coordinator changed.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Now.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
It was that way when he was in Cleveland. It's
been that way now in Tampa Bay now, different reasons.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
In Cleveland, He's had a lot of change in his career.
Speaker 5 (27:03):
He's had so much theme and probably one hundredth coordinator
it's insane.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
So if he can continue this year to do what
he's been doing now having his third different offensive coordinator
in three years, I'll give him. I'll give him credit
for sure. Number twelve another one of those guys that
I think if you got everybody together and made their
quarterback lists, he's all over the place on those lists,
some high, some low. Dak Prescott number twelve.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Yeah, that bothers me that he's that low and.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
You think you should be higher than twelve.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
I think you should be higher than twelve. And not this.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
Past year, but the year before he was the runner
up for MVP. I mean, he had a really really
good season and he was fine this year and then
he got hurt and missed a big chunk of time.
That he is not the athlete or the mover that
he used to be, and that definitely drags him down
if I were to build a list as well, because
he's not an improv dude, but he's really really good
(27:55):
from the neck up. I mean, all the pre snap adjustments,
et cetera, et cetera. I would have him ahead of Hertz.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
During his tenth year already. Man, Yeah, happen quick Number thirteen,
Jordan Love.
Speaker 5 (28:08):
I think he's my prediction that'll be eight next year. Okay,
and that guy played. He got injured really early in
the season, played through it, missed a little time. I
think he's ready to explode.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
But you think he's got some vertical mobility on this.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
List, Yeah, And I have no problem than being thirteen
for now, but I don't think he'll stay there long.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
Still just twenty six years old. Man.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Yeah, that hasn't played a ton of football. He sat
behind Rogers all that time.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
You know, number fourteen still in tier number two here
rock Party.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
I think that's fair.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
Yeah, I mean I was very hard on him his
rookie year, and if you remember, that was the picket year.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
They were worse the same year.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
And I still get a heat all the time, you know,
because I said I'd rather picket after his rookie year
than Party and that sounds crazy now and I was wrong.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
But wait, you get stuff wrong sometimes, man.
Speaker 5 (28:56):
That happens dude this past year, though, with all the
injuries around him, you can't just say this guy's only
a product of his system. You know, he didn't have McCaffrey,
didn't have Vayuk, you know. I mean, like all those
dudes were banged up. And yes, he does benefit from
his system, but so is golf, so does Tua, So
are all these guys. If you don't, it's bad coaching
to some degree.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
Totally. He's much more of a playmaker than you think.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
I think that's fair. He is the last quarterback in
Tier two is Brock Party at fourteen okame number fifteen
leading off Tier three Tier three is a quarterback that
is a legitimate starter but needs a heavier run game
or defensive component to win. Number fifteen Kyler Murray.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
He's one of my hardest one of the rank day
because he isn't. He isn't.
Speaker 5 (29:42):
The The wild plays aren't as money as you think.
He has that short guy.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Problem where he doesn't throw in the middle of the field.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
But there's a lot of ability there, and there's he
can be definitely difficult to play against too. He an
injury or a year or so ago. I think it
was to his throwing arm and his deep balls really
falling off. Sense, But he could go up to nine,
or he could be the staff might get sick of
him and want to draft the guy. I don't know
where to put him.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
Yeah, he's another interesting one.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
Yeah, fifteen, tough one.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
And then at number sixteen, So I guess it's number
one on tier three.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
I'm probably two.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
On tier right, Sorry, no number one, sorry, because brock
Party was last at tier two.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Yes, just about right then, Okay.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
I think that when you put it that way, that
does make it right behind him at number sixteen.
Speaker 5 (30:28):
Aaron Rodgers, Okay, I thought he'd be lower, to be
honest with you, Yeah, I got no problem with it.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
He can't be dynamic like he was, but he could
still play. You are hoping for Brent Farma in the
Minnesota Vikings, but they had Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin and
a bunch of dudes. One NFL executive said, understood. So yeah,
let's see.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
He was.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
Fell down four spots in this year's rankings.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
It looks like I remember him being a really hard
one to rank a year go, coming off an injury,
would do anything, and he still was an advanced age.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
So let me ask you this, what is he sixteen?
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Did you say sixteen? Who's on his heels?
Speaker 5 (31:11):
Is that what you want to No, if he ends
up the if he plays as the sixteenth best quarterback
in the twenty twenty five NFL season, are you taking
that or would you door number two?
Speaker 3 (31:23):
I'm taking it. Don't even have to think about when
was the last time the Steelers had a top half
quarterback in the NFL? Millionaires and they've still gone to
the playoffs for the last five years, right.
Speaker 5 (31:32):
And I think if he would be that guy, there's
probably two or three games where you go, oh, he
was on fire.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Then totally, and maybe two or three where he's not
very good.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
But exactly, but two or three anyways.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Or right, maybe you go beat somebody, you know, you
go to Detroit in December and he puts on a
show against that defense or something and you're like, wow,
look at that, he still has it.
Speaker 5 (31:53):
I do think the top ten stuff is probably out
of the realm of possibility. But I also think he
could be better than sixteen.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
He's in the eleven to fifteen range.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
I mean, now, sign me up team to the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (32:05):
Yeah, they will be a playoff contender for sure, But
I think I would take sixteen seventeen another.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
And this is kind of that range where they get
hard to rank, and there's a lot to like, and
and and plenty of negatives as well too. Tua is
at seventeen.
Speaker 5 (32:18):
Yeah, he would not fit every system at all, but
he's great for what they do. He's an immaculate processor.
The ball comes out.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
Say they can't run their offense when he's not.
Speaker 5 (32:27):
Out there, No, but he doesn't run at all either,
I mean, and that hurts Rogers too. I mean, in
today's NFL, if you give me nothing with your legs
over the course of the year, I mean, both these
guys might run for fifty to one hundred yards or something,
a couple first downs, but all in all, there's not
a threat that hurts.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
You a lot.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
Eighteen Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 5 (32:46):
I'm still a believer. I get a lot of heat
from my buddies for that. Maybe I'll be proven wrong,
but I think.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
He'll twenty five.
Speaker 5 (32:53):
Say he's only twenty five, Like we said the same
thing about like Matthew Stafford, who's twenty five.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Like h he's a bomb. He's not the first overall pick.
He's not the best in the.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
League yet he has a lot of bad tape, Lawrence,
don't get me wrong. But I bet when it's all
said and done, he ends up tennish next year.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
I think Liam Cohen is exactly what he needs at
this stage. Number nineteen, our Lord and Savior, Eugene Cyril
Smith the Third, also known as Gino Smith. Oh, I'd
have him much higher than nineteen. Now I'm a little biased, obviously,
I watched him for four years with my own two eyes.
He was my quarterback when I was at WVU in Morgantown. Oh,
(33:30):
I don't think he's top ten, but I would have
him closer to ten than I would have twenty.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Me too.
Speaker 5 (33:35):
And I hate saying this in front of you and
your presence, but I've said for three years.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
I know you are one of the reasons I love you, Mad.
I mean, it's down on the list. There's a lot
of reasons that I love you, but that's that's one
of them.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Certain is his bad moments too.
Speaker 5 (33:46):
I mean, he can be overly aggressive, But to think
that he's like a borderline starter, like some people think
it's crazy.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Yeah, did you see that whole thing with him in
his return to Seattle with the preseason game.
Speaker 5 (33:57):
I noticed that that's where they've played, but I didn't
catch anything else about it.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Some some fans in the end zone had a sign
that said who's the bigger bust Gino or JaMarcus Russell?
Speaker 5 (34:06):
And like, what what heck of the Steelers that trade
for Gino?
Speaker 4 (34:13):
Right now?
Speaker 2 (34:13):
I would be very happy with him as the starting quarterback.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
One was the second round pick who's been to multiple
Pro Bowls in the postseason. The other was the first
overall pick who was horrendous, never won any games. Number
twenty is Bo Nicks.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
That's fair. The young guys are really hard to rank. Yeah,
I mean I think that's fair. He played really really well.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Twenty one Sam Darnold twenty two. Your guy Drake May
he's going to be on that next year. Twenty three,
Caleb Williams.
Speaker 5 (34:39):
Okay, twenty four through these, I'm curious for Russell Wilson
in fields.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Twenty four Bryce Young twenty five, Kirk Cousins rank. That
is the end of Tier three. Okay, Kirk is the
last Tier three. Tier four is Russell Wilson at twenty six, Okay,
Justin Fields at twenty seven, all right, Michael Pennix at
twenty eight, JJ McCarthy at twenty nine.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
I don't even know how you rank him, Like I
would not put rookies on this list, or McCarthy because
he didn't play a snap.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
I agree with you too hard him Daniel Jones thirtieth,
Joe Flacco thirty first, and Anthony Richardson thirty second, and
then they have list. Then they have into the you know,
the fifth tier, Spencer Rattler at thirty three, Kenny Pickett
at thirty four, and then that's the end of their list.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
He is not ranked rookies. So many people rank rookie quarterbacks.
That makes me crazy, sade smart enough not to even bother. Yeah, yes,
GM's stuff that they've never even seen him play an
NFL game.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
So there's your quarterback tiers, Matt, I agree with a lot.
I think so too. There's there again, and there's something
that we'd probably have a couple spots lower, a couple
of the time. Yeah, for the most part, I don't
think that there was anything egregious on there, other than
obviously the disrespect to Eugene Cyril Smith, Matt and I
gotta get to our final break.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
When we come right to hear from one of those guys, right, We're.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
Gonna hear a little bit from Aaron Rodgers. We'll get
to some of your tweets as well too when we return.
It's all happening here on this training camp edition of
the Drive on Steelers Nation Radio on the Steelers Audio.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Network Iheartradios Live coverage. Job twenty twenty five Steelers Training
Camp is presented by Vadex where Now meets Next, and
also brought to you by First National Bank, by kalucy Chevrolet,
iron Workers Union Number Three, by Easy Home Exteriors by
(36:35):
SMT Bank, Remax Select Realty, by Tons Appliances, the Pittsburgh
Steelers Pro Shop, by Always Safe Flagging and Traffic Control,
and by us Steel.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
Final segment here as the next to last practice, the
penultimate practice in the books for your Pittsburgh Steelers here
at Saint Vincent College, Just one more left tomorrow, last
chance to come out and see Aaron Rodgers here on
the that's it. It happens quickly. But tomorrow is the
last open practice of training camp here at Saint Vincent College.
(37:11):
You want to come out and see DK Metcalf, You
want to come out and see Aaron Rodgers. Some of
these new faces, they're pretty impressive live, they certainly are.
And Aaron Rodgers. While there are a lot of people
in that conversation new faces that have been impressive live,
Jalen Ramsey, Darius Slay as well, Aaron Rodgers the one
that I think everyone has been paying the most attention to,
keeping their eyes on the most. The Steelers quarterback sat
(37:35):
down with Missy Matthews for a little one on one
conversation and here's what he had to say.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
Aaron, being here at Saint Fanci College and Latrobe, what
has this experience been like for you.
Speaker 6 (37:46):
I'd say it's a bit of a throwback for me,
just because we did this same concept for fourteen years
in Green Bay. We stayed at Saint Norbert's Cross Town,
and it gives you the opportunity to actually really connect
with your teammates because there's nowhere to go, you know,
we're stuck here at the dorms just been really fun
where it's card plan or I'm not a gamer, but
(38:07):
you know all these kids are are video gamer so
just you know, getting to spend time with these guys
pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
Is there anything about a Stealers training camp, practice or
environment that surprises you?
Speaker 6 (38:18):
Used to be harder than some of the camps I've
been in the past. I hadn't been a part of
tackling in practice for a long time, so that's been
pretty cool. I just like the professional environment, you know,
starts with Mike and his expectations for the tempo of
practice and professionalism. That's been really fun to see. It's
been hot, really hot, hotter than usual that I'm used
(38:40):
to for training camp. So that's a good h you know,
good stress around our bodies. It's always fun to see
kind of how guys respond to that.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
You talked about wanting to be an expert in this
Arthur Smith offense. How exactly is the process? Can you
break down how you go about doing that and where
do you feel like you are right now?
Speaker 6 (38:57):
I think I'm pretty close. For me, it's what image
is come into my mind when I break the huddle.
For me, I have a lot of offenses In my mind,
I got the old school West Coast offense from two
thousand and five. I got Mike sideration of it from
two thousand and six to twenty eighteen. That I got
the floor offense in twenty nineteen, and then the kind
of the hybrid that we did in twenty twenty to
(39:17):
twenty twenty two, and then I have Nate Hackett's version
of that twenty three and twenty four.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Now I got arthur' stiss version.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
So the pictures are starting to crystallize a little bit
better as we get into the third week here.
Speaker 4 (39:28):
A lot of your new teammates have said that you're
very calm in the huddle. You can also crack a
joke at the same time, but you also have a
very high standard for the attention to detail. How do
you balance that and when did you become really good
at that?
Speaker 6 (39:41):
I think it's a learned trait for sure. It starts
with a mastery of the system. Then you can know
what everybody's doing every play. The game is played with reactions,
and so I don't want guys thinking out there. I
want guys to have a mastery of the system and
then to go out and use their god given ability
to react to what they see. So I just always
want the guys to be locked in at the same time.
(40:03):
You know, this is a kid's game, so we should
be having fun out here. We should be able to
crack some jokes and rib each other and stuff like that.
So just that's part of the getting to know your
teammates part. Which guys you can you can get on
and tease about certain things. You know, some guys are
wired super tight. Those are the easiest. You know, some
guys are more loose, and so you got to find
find a way to connect to them and find a
(40:23):
way to have some sort of personal one on one
with every player in order to kind of build that relationship.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
Who's the easiest to get under their skins?
Speaker 2 (40:32):
Oh, Zach, of course, Zach Brazer.
Speaker 6 (40:35):
I mean, Zach is such a great player. I mean,
he's going to have a long career in the league.
But he's wired real type A and those are the
easiest guys to get on. But you know, the center
has to be the mouthpiece of the quarterback. I'm the
mouthpiece of the coordinator, and so we all got to
be in sync. But we also got to be enjoying
ourselves and not taking everything.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Too seriously out there.
Speaker 4 (40:56):
We'll have to check back on that. How you've done
in terms of breaking, I'm breaking. Coach Arth had said
that you prefer a paper playbook in terms of a binder.
Is that still the case? Is anybody else following suit?
Are you getting any comments or questions about that.
Speaker 6 (41:13):
I'm from the analog days. The most of the younger players,
I won't say kids again, but younger players, they grow
up on iPads, so it's second nature. And the iPads
are great. You can write notes in there and everything,
but I just always like having multiple ways to remember things.
So I can see it on the board that's one.
(41:33):
I can see it on the paper in front of me.
That's two, and then I write it that's three. This
is kind of how I was raising the game. You know,
my notebooks always open. When Mike T's saying something in
a meeting, I'm writing it the writing down. You know,
when Arthur saying something, I'm writing it down. You know
when Coach Arthur is saying something, you know, I'm writing
it down. It's just this is how I was raising
the game.
Speaker 4 (41:52):
In terms of Darius Slay, he said when he was
a young player. He started to gain confidence because of
his interactions with you after the Green Bay Lions games.
What do you remember about him then? What did you
see in him? And what is it like being his
teammate now?
Speaker 6 (42:07):
I mean, Darius has always been an elite player. He's
always had elite ball skills and always a guy you
really had to be aware of where he was at.
And you know, when you when you bring in veteran
guys like this who are true professionals, Uh, you don't
have to worry about the standard being set. And we've
you know, brought in guys on offense, brought on even
(42:27):
more guys on defense. And when you have those veteran
guys who know what it's like to play and play
at high level, they just set the standard for practice,
set the standard for the meeting room, set the standard
for the interactions and makes my job, as you know,
want to be team leader, you know that much easier.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
Pretty cool conversation there with Aaron Rodgers and Missy Matthews.
And you can tell miss he's a real journalist, you know,
asking asking the good questions. Uh, tell Aaron to leave ZAKALONEO.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
All right, Yeah, wound a little tight.
Speaker 3 (42:56):
A couple of tweets here, just quickly, Matt, before we
get out of here. We got like a minute left.
Annie tweets and says, the bonus points you learned for
saying cake Eater were lost when you said that Departed
was better than the Godfather. Come on, yeah, no, not
the Godfather, Goodfellas.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
You did say Godfather. That's where you almost sorry.
Speaker 3 (43:12):
I meant to say Goodfellas. The Godfather is the Godfather.
It's in its own tear.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
It's the best. They're the best two movies ever.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
So but I and I still do love Goodfellas, don't
get me wrong.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
It's I would put good Fellows over and Departed, but
at least they're closer.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
I would for years, but now I would go over
the last couple of years. I've seen the light. I'll
go uh, I'll go Departed over Goodfellas by a hair.
But yeah, Godfather still the king. There steal a nation
nine twenty tweets and says, what is the game you're
most excited for this season?
Speaker 2 (43:42):
Can't say Dublin that's way too.
Speaker 3 (43:46):
How about Rogers against the Packers.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
That's pretty cool. That's Sunday Night right, that's pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
That's that's that's I think a pretty cool one.
Speaker 2 (43:53):
Yeah. I mean you'd always see Ravens too.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
That doesn't count Ravens, no doubt. Hey, the opener against
the Jets will be a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (43:58):
Yeah, I mean against Roger old team too.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
There no doubt, no doubt. The standard is the standard,
tweets and says based off of camp and everything you've
seen so far, give me someone at wide receiver and
someone at defensive back who might be on the outside
looking in to make the roster.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
May We talked about that a lot today.
Speaker 5 (44:15):
I mean, I do think those those three corners probably
spots unless an injury occurs. I think Miller's probably got
the inside track to be the final cut, the final
made roster receiver. But that's not over yet, and I'm
still not dismissing the fact that there could be someone
from outside the organization at that position.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
I think that that is very fair to see to
still have as a consideration, Matt, that'll do it for
us today. Good stuff, dude, I enjoyed it as always.
