Speaker 1 (00:13):
The key to the last two games have been first
and second down. You know, when we're efficient on those
those drives, we just score points or not. You know,
there's been some three and outs.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Aaron Rodgers after the Steelers big victory on Sunday twenty
three to nine against the Cleveland Browns, this is the
Steelers standard. With that troop and Jacob Wreck here on
Steelers Nation Radio, part of the Steelers Audio Network. You
got to be in love with Aaron Rodgers if you're
a Steeler fan right now at Jacob he is saying
the right things at the right times. His performance, of course,
is the most important part, but even off the field,
(00:45):
every time he talks. And what I really like is
there was a quote this morning that you guys played
on the DV Morning Show when he was talking about
Jalen Warren.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
I think it was Jalen Warren picked up a block.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
This is exactly what he quote by saying, I think
it was Jalen that picked up that block. He's pointing
out different teammates that are making significant plays that aren't
necessarily the playmaker, and I think that was on the
Corner Heyward touchdown pass. He was referring to that Warren
picks up a key block on a blitz by the
Browns and enables him to roll out and throw that
touchdown pass. Man. He's given love to the right folks
(01:17):
at the right times, and you got to love that
about Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Absolutely. I mean, I've said this so many times and
you've echoed the same thoughts. If you don't have Aaron
Rodgers this year, you're not four and one right, you
are a different, completely different football team. DK metcalf is
probably thrown tangers to the sideline similar to what we
saw at George Pickens. The run game is probably even
(01:41):
less effective than it is already, simply because with no
pass game, there's no complimentary football there. And you probably
get outscored by New England, you definitely get outscored by
the Jets, you get outscored by Minnesota. The only game
that's the toss up really is the Cleveland game, and
they still scored nine points. So who's to say that
with the different offense that they could have scored more
(02:04):
given how bad your offense could have looked. So yeah,
just a huge, huge, huge asset to have Aaron Rodgers.
This is the guy that you've been looking for ever
since Big Ben went down or rather retired a couple
of years ago. You kind of just been fooling yourself
and having a lot of wishful thinking saying, oh, we
can convince ourselves that miss Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett
(02:26):
and Mitch Trubisky and Russell Wilson and Justin Field, who
is zero and six by the way, are all good enough.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
If you can get this type of performance out of
Aaron Rodgers. I know I'm speaking way, way, way way
ahead here. He's now where you're going. He's your bridge
quarterback for this season. He could be your bridge quarterback
for next season too, especially if you draft a rookie
quarterback and the draft here this upcoming spring.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Again, I'm getting way ahead of us. But no, I
don't think so. I think that's a legitimate path. Right.
You could still draft the future who you want to
be the future rather and keep Rogers and just have
him be there and say, hey, we don't need to
put all the pressure on a first year guy from
get from the get go, right, Let's have him kind
(03:08):
of worked in if necessary, even like what if, Like
you said, it's a big hypothetical because it's so far
down the road. What if Aaron Rodgers leads a team
to a little playoff run, what if they get one
or two wins under their belt. You have to bring
it back for next year if he's willing to come back.
You can't just say that, oh, whoever the rookie is
is going to be better than Aaron Rodgers, because that
guy won you a playoff game, if not multiple, maybe
(03:31):
won the you to the division to boot and you
just allow Aaron Rodgers. You know, we've heard before he
came here, there were all these talks about, oh, Aaron
Rodgers as the teammate, and it wasn't until he got
here that we really recognized that, Oh, actually, his teammates
do really like him. Yeah, he's an outspoken guy, but
(03:51):
he's doing all the right things in Pittsburgh so far.
I mean a lot of people were worried about his
involvement with the Pat McAfee show, using that as an
outlet to kind of lambasted and criticize his teammates without
saying it directly to their face, but saying it to
the media in general. He hasn't gone on that show
one time since training camp. You remember when Pat and
the crew came to La Trobe. Rogers hasn't made a
(04:12):
single appearance since Pat came to Pittsburgh. Pat came to
Saint Vincent College. So he's doing all the right things,
and who's to say that he would do the opposite
When a rookie quarterback comes in. They don't have to
be best friends, they don't have to be brothers. But
just having the opportunity as a rookie to play behind
Aaron Rodgers and learn from one of the greatest quarterbacks
(04:33):
who's ever played this game would be a huge asset
for that kid.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
He's doing all the right things on and off the field,
and hey, look, if you could throw for two hundred
yards a touchdown or two, don't turn the ball over,
manage the game for this offense, and win games.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
I mean, that's the minimal that you can do.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Great, let's sign me up all of twenty five and
all of twenty twenty six, really until you develop your
next starting, potential franchise quarterback, who hopefully is out there.
A couple statistics and then we're going to get into
in and around the NFL here in week six for
our Renegade review. As we go around the AFC North,
the AFC and other NFL scores. First downs yesterday, Brown's
(05:11):
twenty Steelers nineteen third down conversions. I touched on this
earlier this morning. Six of seventeen were the Browns at
thirty five percent, which is a really good job by
the Steelers defense. Offensively, the Steelers not so great on
third downs five of thirteen at only thirty eight percent,
So third downs for the Steelers not that great yesterday.
No fourth down attempts for the Steelers, but two of
(05:32):
four for fifty percent for the Browns yesterday. Total yards
Steelers three thirty five to the Browns two forty eight
rushing yards. As we said, the Steelers one hundred yards
rushing even yesterday as a team sixty five given up
defensively to the Browns. Passing wise, the Steelers yesterday two
hundred and thirty five yards passing one hundred and eighty
three on the other side for the Cleveland Browns. We're
(05:55):
going through some statistics yesterday, a few more penalties, six
of forty four the Browns and ten of fifty nine
for the Steelers. Red zone efficiency yesterday Steelers one of one,
again very good in the red zone and how about this,
oh for three in the red zone for the Cleveland
Browns yesterday they got turned away three times by the
Steelers and including a goal first in goal that they
(06:19):
turned away there at the end, so they were zero
for one from that standpoint. And then time of possession
Steelers again winning that category thirty one minutes fifty two
seconds to the Browns twenty eight minutes and eight seconds.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yep, a huge, huge, huge cap or feather in the
cap for the Steelers defense shutting down that Browns red
zone offense. This is something we talked about, right right, Ben,
don't break well, they didn't even really bend that much either.
I mean, they had a great day defensively when it
comes to yards, and they only allow the nine points
against in total for the Browns offense. So even though
(06:53):
they got into the red zone, you have to credit
the Steelers defense for not letting the Browns walk away
with any points in either of those two trips.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
And I misspoke on the team passing yesterday. Gabriel had
two hundred and twenty one yards.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Passing, So I read the wrong number there.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
I think I said one hundred and something, but I
knew he was over two hundred yard yesterday, but still
twenty nine fifty two pass attempts for Gabriel yesterday and
the Steelers get home six times for six sacks from
a defensive standpoint.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Yeah, I mean, we talked about it. He had fifty
eight dropbacks and just you have to give him some
credit though, the fact that he was making his second
start ever nearly sixty pass attempts for him or or
sixty dropbacks for him. That's no small task for any
quarterback really to take sixty drop backs. So yeah, I mean,
didn't get the win, but like I said earlier in
(07:42):
the show today, really kept his head together, didn't let
it become too big of a moment. I know, they
only came up with nine points and the offense never
really got anything going through the ground or through the air.
But the only Gabriel didn't crash out at all. They
never turned to Shador either. You have to remember that
had him ready and you were seeing him on your
(08:02):
TV pretty much every every drive that sputt it out
for the Browns, saying is this going to be the
drive that ends Dylan Gabriel's short tenure as a starter,
and Shador's time will come? But they never did.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Let's go in and a round Week six in the
AFC North to it and we'll go to Baltimore first,
where the Ravens lose seventeen to three against the La Rams.
The close game up until the third quarter was three
to three going into halftime. Both offenses stalled out quite
a bit during that first half, only exchanging field goals,
but a fourteen point third quarter gave the Rams control
(08:36):
of this game as Matthew Stafford goes seventeen of twenty
six for one hundred and eighty one yards and a touchdown. Yesterday,
on the other side, Cooper Rush eleven of nineteen for
only seventy two yards in an interception. He was relieved
by Tyler Huntley later in this game, who won ten
to fifteen for sixty eight yards.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
The brown The.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Browns might go, well, they are the Browns of their
former Browns. The Ravens continue to struggle with out Lamar Jackson.
They now go into their bye week, and I'm sure
they're hoping to get Lamar back here in two weeks
when they come out of their bye week.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Yeah, definitely. I think the Ravens are bottoming out right now.
They're on a four game losing streak. They're doing themselves
no favors here. They're not showing any signs of life
on offense. I think the only thing that they can
really be happy about is the fact that they didn't
allow a conclave of points. Right, forty four points, remember,
(09:27):
was a little better by them against Houston last week,
only what was it? Seventeen to three was the final score.
So seventeen points pretty good, especially, like you said, Matt
Safford and Pukinnakua. That's a great connection in football. They
have a great young running back in Kiro Williams as well.
They shut him down, so at least the defense can say, hey,
we didn't allow forty four points, but still the team
(09:48):
loses seventeen to three. They're one and five right now.
I mean, I don't think anyone saw that start coming
for the Ravens.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
The Ravens yesterday do get back on over one hundred
yard rushing performance from Derek Henry, who had not gone
over one hundred yards the last few games. Twenty four
carries for one hundred and twenty two yards yesterday in
the loss, and as you said, Jacob, they are now
one and five on the season. The Bengals lose their
fourth straight game yesterday in the late game, twenty seven
to eighteen to the Green Bay Packers, who improved the
(10:16):
three to one and one who the Steelers will host
here in about a week and a half after the
Thursday night game this week against the Cincinnati Bengals, who
are now two and four on the season. Joe Flacco
first game as a Bengal not too bad, twenty nine
to forty five.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
For two hundred and nineteen yards, two touchdowns. Yesterday he
was sacked once.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Jordan Love nineteen of twenty six for two hundred and
fifty nine yards, a touchdown and an interception. Receiving wise,
Jamar Chase ten catches for ninety four yards and a
touchdown yesterday. T Higgins five catches for sixty two yards.
We get later into the week here on the standard,
we'll preview Cincinnati and scout them a little bit more
for you for Thursday night. But yesterday, I mean, they
(10:57):
made this a game. There were multiple times where the
Packers were starting to put I was watching this game
after the Steward game yesterday, but give credit to the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
They hung in there.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
They ultimately lose twenty seven eighteen, but they did make
it a game at certain times.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Yeah. That that that last touchdown for the Bengals to
Jamar Chase made it a one possession game, right, I mean,
right as you said, even though Green Bay jumped out
to that lead that I believe was at some point
was what let me let me make sure I had
my numbers right here. They were up twenty four to
ten on the Bengals, and you thought when they scored
(11:30):
that second touchdown late in the fourth their second touch
onund of the fourth quarter, rather you thought that was it.
But the Bengals answered with the touchdown driver of their own.
He had a six point game. So all the Bengals
had to do was trust on Joe Flacco to leave
them into the end zone and with an extra point
they have the lead in green Bay. But that wasn't
the case. Of course, Green Bays scored an insurance field
(11:52):
goal to put them up by nine. Wep as my
microphone falls down, pretty much putting the game out of
out of reach for Bengals. But honestly, what you saw
at Joe Flacco, considering the weapons he has with Jamar
Chason T. Higgins, you have to make sure that you're
ready for him on Thursday night if you're the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Other scores from around week six last Thursday night, and
we talked about this last week thirty four to seventeen
the Giants beat the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Yeah, I'm gonna say I called this one ed. We did.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
We talked about how this could potentially be a Giants
win and they do get the job done at home.
How exciting are the rookies between Scataboo, who, by the.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Way, love his off the field stuff. It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
I watched a whole reel last night out there of
about a two minute reel of just all his all
his stuff. Man, he's a fun player to watch in
cam Scattaboo, and he backs it up on the field.
Three touchdowns last Thursday night for ninety eight yards and
Jackson Dart playing very well at the quarterback position too.
That tandem right now of Dart in Scataboo has to
give the Giant fans a little bit of hope that
(12:54):
maybe things are starting to turn for the better in
New York. The Eagles now four and two, just like that,
the offending Super Bowl champs as they go down thirty
four to seventeen last Thursday Night scores yesterday on Sunday,
the Jets are still winless oh and six now on
the season, as the Broncos edged them out thirteen to eleven,
and what was a very weird game. The Jets were
(13:15):
only able to get happy three field goals in a
safety yes they were right there in a late field
goal by the Broncos wins the game for Denver.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Yeah, Jets really fumbled this one away. You saw terrible
clock management at the end of both halves. Right at
the end of the first half, the Jets converted on
a fourth down attempt and then really sputtered out after
I had one of the weirder sequences across the league
this year. And then at the end of the game too,
they had a chance to get into field goal position,
(13:45):
but really one of the more pathetic fourth down attempts
the Jets had on offense. Just couldn't get anything going
and justin fields man oh and six. As a Jets quarterback,
I think a lot of the I think that crowd
and pitts Burg, who was criticizing the Steelers for not
keeping him justin fields in Pittsburgh getting a little bit quieter,
(14:09):
don't you think, Oh I was one of those. Yeah,
and so was I to a degree. But I will
say this, I.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Was one of those before Aaron Rodgers was part of
the conversation.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
So sure exactly was that the Rodgers came in, you thought, okay,
well this is even this is an upgrade. Probably, Yeah, we're.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Okay, we're as long as he stays healthy and we're
gonna knock on what As we continue to say that
the Colts five and one now on the season. They
went thirty one to twenty seven against the Arizona Cardinals,
who are now two and four on the season, and
again the Steelers will face the Colts in about three weeks.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Jonathan Taylor big.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Day twenty one carries on one hundred and twenty three
yards and a touchdown. As the Colts are the surprise
of the NFL right now at five and one and
number one in the AFC.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Yeah, I mean, they just keep winning games, right, and
they just keep putting up points. It was a good
game though against the Cardinals. You probably thought that this
game would have been a little more in the colts favor,
a little easier of a win. The Cardinals had a
lead at some point in the second half. But that
Colts offense is just so deep, so many weapons, with
Michael Pittman at the receiver, as you mentioned, Jonathan Taylor
(15:11):
as the running back, and then the rookie tight end
out of Penn State Tyler Warren probably being Daniel jones
number one target this year. You really got to buy
in for what the Colts are doing on offense. It's
another game ed once again. They their lowest point total
on the season was in that loss against the Rams,
only twenty points. Besides that game, they have scored twenty
(15:33):
nine points or more in all but one game this year,
so they're there. In five games this year, they scored
nearly thirty points. It's remarkable what they're doing. They have
a test this coming week against the Chargers, who are
also on the bounce back after their win against Miami.
But I think if you're the Colts, you say, well,
the Chargers start off zero to two, then they started
(15:54):
off three tozer. Rather they got to three and two
and then it took a last second field goal by
their kicker to beat Miami, who's a one win team.
You should be saying, if you're the Colts, we should
win that game.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Speaking of Miami and the Chargers, that's our next game.
The Chargers win twenty nine to twenty seven LA, now
four and two on the season. After a couple back
to back losses, they get back on their winning ways.
They were three, three and zero and then down to
three and two. Now back up to four and two
after they go to Miami. At Miami and the Dolphins,
now one and five. The Dolphins have played a lot
(16:27):
of close games this year, but unfortunately for them, they've
been on the other side of the scoreboard as they
go to one and five now on the year. Herbert
two hundred and sixty four yards passing and two touchdowns
yesterday in the win. And Chargers out there in the
AFC West number one with Denver, right, Denver, I believe two? Yeah, right,
(16:47):
they're both four and two, right, So I mean both teams.
We just talked about the Broncos and now we're talking
about the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Both games for the two teams at top of that
division are looking a little shaky right now, and we'll
get to them later. But the Chiefs are still looming, man.
I mean, they had that one against the twin on
Sunday night, so they need to be winning as much
as they can, because you know, the Chiefs are gonna
sneak in there like they always do. But credit to
the Chargers and the Broncos for keeping things even keel
(17:18):
or afloat for them. Despite having some rocky performances in
Week six.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
The Chiefs just won't go away as they went on
Sunday Night Football. We'll get to that here at the end,
but we're still going through the early games. Yesterday on
Sunday in Week six, the Patriots go into New Orleans.
They win twenty five to nineteen. And then the Patriots
had early control this game and never looked back. They're
now foreign too. I said the surprise team was the Colts.
I think the Patriots are another surprise team, Mike Vrabel,
(17:45):
especially the way they started out the season.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
I remember you have them pretty high in your power
rankings last week, didn't you. I think I did.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
I had them on the outside looking in something like that.
They may be in the top. We'll do the power
rankings on Wednesday this week.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
You were right spot on four and two with that
key win coming against the Bills, and I'm sure you
know they would love to have gotten that game back
against the Steelers. If they don't, if they don't give
away the ball five separate times against the Steelers, they
probably win that game, and then all of a sudden,
there were a five and one team.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Drake May continues to be solid too for them, and
he's a big part of the reason why they're four
and two. Yesterday eighteen of twenty six, two hundred and
sixty one yards and three touchdowns. The Panthers break out.
The Carolina Panthers really three and three. They're five hundred
after a thirty to twenty seven victory against the Cowboys
that are still just a impossible team to figure out,
(18:35):
so up and down each and every week. Boy, I'm
glad this isn't the Steelers of twenty twenty five, that
it's the Dallas Cowboys, because we'd be going crazy in
this room if this was the type of team the
Steelers were this year. The Cowboys now two to three
and one on the season, and again, they're just so
other than Dak who's played pretty solid again yesterday, two
hundred and sixty one yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions. But
(18:56):
Bryce Young continues to lead this Carolina team one hundred
and ninety nine yard yesterday, three touchdowns and interception.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Didyl comes back. Rico Didle against his former team.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Right thirty carries one hundred and eighty three yards in
a revenge game against the Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
The former Cowboy made them pay. It's the first time
that Panthers are at five hundreds since twenty twenty one. Wow, yeah,
there you go. This is a team that's really struggled.
And you remember when Bryce Young was the number one
overall pick out of Alabama a couple of years ago,
everyone was thinking, why would you do that? You know,
you you invested so much to trading up with Chicago
(19:34):
to get that number one overall pick. And he really
struggled his rookie year, and then if you remember his
second year, he got benched. But then he came back
and they won. Like you know, I said, this is
the first time they're a half five hundred, but I
think they were five hundred down the stretch of last season.
They won like two of their last three games something
like that. You saw a little something going in Carolina,
(19:57):
and then they had a really rough start to this season.
But all of a sudden, they've won three of their
last four and as I mentioned they're at five hundred.
So if you're in the NFC South, which is always
a weird division, you know, I know the Bucks have
kind of had the pulse on that one since Baker
Mayfield and Tom Brady have been there. But the Falcons
you don't really have a lot of confidence in. I mean,
(20:17):
the Panthers already beat the Falcons, so they already have
a tiebreaker over them. And we know how bad the
Saints are, so Panthers could be a surprise wildcard team,
or at least a team fighting for a wildcard spot
this year.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Seahawks beat the Jaguars twenty to twelve yesterday, as the
Seahawks get to four and two. The Jaguars, after that
big win against the Chiefs last Monday night, excuse me,
they lose twenty to twelve yesterday. They're now four and
two on the season, and Jackson Smith and jig But
continues to no worse, No worries for Seattle getting rid
(20:49):
of DK Metcalf and we're happy to have DK, of course,
so we're good with their scraps, that's what you want
to call them. But JSN has continued eight catches one
hundred and sixty two yards and a touchdown. He is
on fire here in twenty twenty five. I know that
because he's on a couple of my fantasy football teams.
But another big day yesterday going to Jacksonville, Seattle comes
out with the twenty to twelve win.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Yeah, clearly all you got to do if you're Sam
Darnold being on a team that's not the Jets, and
have a coach of stat that's willing to give you
playmakers because there was no one to get him to
get the ball to when he was in New York.
And then when he was in Minnesota, of course he
had Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson. And now that he's
in Seattle, he's got Jackson, Jackson Smith and Jig But
(21:29):
who did you say? He's leading the league and receiving
yards right now. So yeah, just give Donald a legit
team and he's going to do wonders for you right now.
They had a really tough loss last week, the Seattle
did against Tampa Bay if you remember, that was a
great back and forth game. But they bounced back on
going on the road against a four and one team
in the Jaguars, like you mentioned, and really having an
(21:52):
impressive win. They're four and two. It's looking like the
Seahawks could be for real. I mean, given the rest
of that division, know the Rams are are going to
be competitive. The Niners are still in it. But you know,
I'm sure you heard the news that they lost Fred
Warner for the year. That's another player they lost for
the remainder of the season. So I just don't see
(22:12):
how the Niners keep things afloat. We think the Cardinals
are probably gonna be the bottom feeders of that division.
It's looking like Seattle could be the division winner of
this year.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
The Raiders defeat the Titans twenty to ten in the
Battle of the two one.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
And four teams.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Yeah Raiders now two and four, Titans one and five. Hey,
I don't care either, Jacob. Other than this, some of
us might have jumped in on this game.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Really with the Raiders and the over under of thirty
point five. I took the over. Wow, thirty total points.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Come on, breaker, Come on, Titans, you have the ball
there at the end, Go down and at least put
in six points. I don't care I put in three,
but yeah, heartbreaker for some of us.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
I know the feeling, my good friend Mike Pursuda on
the morning show was telling me how he's going to
hammer the over for the IU Oregon game, which was
said at fifty one and a half. Wow, And if
you remember the FINALSS thirty to twenty, pretty low scoring
game for two high scoring offenses, and Mike was kill
making me feel it this morning. He was happy for
(23:08):
my team, but not happy for as well. It's just
a half a point.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah, it's just so half a point, so close, you
have so far away Bucks over the Niners. You mentioned
Warner goes out for the forty nine ers out for
the season. That's a huge loss for that defense. Buccaneers
five and one. Yeah in the NFC for Baker, Yeah,
Baker Mayfield another big game yesterday as they defeat the
forty Niners. This was a game in what you and
I talked about last week was a make or break
(23:31):
game for Tampa Bay from the terms are they for
real or are they not?
Speaker 1 (23:35):
And the same for the forty nine ers.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
So the forty nine ers go into Tampa Bay and
win that game, then they're part of that conversation. But
now Tampa Bay clear at five and one and Baker
Mayfield big reason.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Given the loss that Detroit had, and we'll get to
that on Sunday night against the Chiefs. And the way
the Eagles have performed the last two weeks, They've fallen
to four and two after a four and oh start.
Are the Bucks all of a sudden the number one
team in the NFC? It could they could be.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
They're ahead of Detroit now, right right, So I think
they're definitely part of that conversation.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
The Chiefs. I mean they are. They have the best
record in the conference. But it's regardless of the record.
Do you think they're the most complete team. I think
you could argue that.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Well, I you know, I'm trying before I answer that question. Here,
Let's just do the exercise while we have a chance.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
Let's look to see.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
So their wins are against the Falcons, Texans, Jets, Seahawks,
forty nine ers.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
So the last two, the last two are legit or
legit right the first time the Falcons are bad. That's
a division rival, and if you remember last year, the
Falcons actually won both games against the Bucks. So the
fact that they were able to turn that around, I
I mean, you can really never discount a division rival game.
I mean, look at the Eagles, right, they were. They
were playing against the Giants on Thursday night. They thought
(24:51):
they were the much better team, and lo and behold,
the Giants got the better of them. So any division
game that you can win is a good at is
a good thing to log for a schedule. So I
actually think that's three quality wins at the minimum for
the Bucks this year. Agreed, yep, I agree.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Chiefs over the Lions on Sunday Night Football, thirty to seventeen,
Patrick Mahomes doing Patrick Mahomes type of stuff, twenty two
of thirty two fifty seven, three touchdowns. The Chiefs just
won't go away, even when they started out the way
they did this season. They're now back to five hundred
and back in that conversation in mixing the AFC the
defending AFC champs, that's a big win against a very
(25:27):
good Lion team last night. And Juju Smith Schuster a
little brawl at the end. I don't know if you
saw that, but that wasn't Juju's fault.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
He was just reacting. He got a hit by Brian Branch,
for sure. Branch will get fined for that, for sure.
Two teams on Buys this week.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
The Vikings and Texans, And then very quickly tonight's two
Monday night matchups the Bills four and one at the
Falcons two and two at seven fifteen, and an hour
later at eight to fifteen it's the Bears two and
two at the Commanders three and two.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Two decent Monday night football matchups tonight. Yeah, I think
that Bills are vulnerable. Excuse me to lose this game.
Can't mention Atlanta's not a bad team, not a team
to just shrug off. It's on the road, and if
they do lose that game, the Bills and the Steelers
think comfortably at the number two spot in the conference.
Then looking at the second game, remember this is the revenge,
(26:15):
potential revenge game. I guess you could say for the
Bears when they had that Hail Mary allowed by the
Commanders about the same time, about Week six or week
seven of last year. That game was also in Washington,
just like tonight is. But I think the Commanders should
win that game. I think they are the better team,
even though they'll be without Tara McLaurin. He's been kind
(26:36):
of bouncing on and off the injury report all year long.
But they have what matters most. Who is Jenn Daniels
available to them? I think it will be the difference
maker here. I think the Commanders win. I actually think
it's gonna be a toss up though for the Bills
and Falcons on Monday Night. Yeah, I think Atlanta gives
Buffalo Trump. Yeah, you have to assume that given what
we saw last Sunday night when the Bills hosted the Patriots.
(26:58):
And as Steeler fans, you're you're your a Falcon fan tonight, Yeah,
for sure. And how exciting is that?
Speaker 2 (27:03):
I mean years past, we're always worried just about the
North really up until the last game of the season.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Now you're starting to think AFC. Hey, you know, I
mean again too. We we talked about them before. But
that Colts game that's coming up in a few weeks,
that's going to have massive playoff seating implications.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Especially if if the Steelers take care of business this
Thursday against the Bengals, and even if you even if
you get even if you lose against the Packers at home,
that's a non AFC loss exactly. So yeah, it's still
still important again against the Colts, that's going to do
it for the Steelers. Standard with Ed Trup and Jacob
