Speaker 1 (00:00):
Forty to twenty. The Texans victorious today over the Arizona Cardinals.
Houston now nine to five on the season, Dre, what
does that pass rush report look like for the Houston Texan.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Yep, our CHIB sack report. The Texans had two sacks
in today's game. Denico Autry had one, Danil Hunter had
the other. As part of Sex for Hunger, HIB will
donate one thousand dollars to the Houston Food Bank every
time the Texans sacked the quarterback. The HIB Pack Attack
is brought to you by ECHIB, the official tailgate headquarters
of the Houston Texans.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Dray, this isn't the headline today, but CJ. Stroud throwing
three touchdown passes, taking care of the football and playing
at a good level here as you come down the stretch,
that's a big deal. You want this offense to heat up.
You did get the running attack going. We could talk
about that. But Stroud himself looking good.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah, you want him looking good because you know you
carry some momentum of his performance through the remainder of
the season and into the playoffs, so you want that
part of it to pan out. But as well, you
want the defense to continue doing its thing. Special teams
to continue doing what they're doing, and now all of

(01:09):
a sudden, this running game that they can rely on
that takes a little bit of pressure off CJ. In
certain situations. You're gonna have to have one when you
reach the playoffs. Defense and a running game. That's how
you get to you advance in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Nick Chubb was inactive today. Woody Marks. We didn't see
him since the first half. But Jawar Jordan runs for
one oh one first Texans running back to hit the
century mark. That was a mini revelation today. Hopefully the
other guys are healthy enough to go for you down
to stretch here and beyond, but what an addition.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
If not, then you know what you have in Jawar Jordan,
the guy that just gave you your first one hundred yard
rushing performance of the season. And we're in what week
fifteen fifteen yep, so it's taken that long. So you
know that this is a well coached team and you
can call a guy up from the practice roster. There

(02:05):
may have been some mistakes that the naked eye doesn't
see that the coaching staff will obviously see in his performance,
but it was hard to tell from here and the
way he ran the ball, caught it protected CJ. That
just tells me that room. And you know how much
respect and admiration I have for Danny Barrett, but it
tells me that's a buttoned up room where everybody is

(02:28):
coached the same and the expectations are the same, whether
you're the starter and Woody Marks or Nick Chubb or
coming off the practice roster like Jawar Jordan Nicocollins.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
We are mentioning him in all these milestone hits with
DeAndre Hopkins and Andre Johnson deservedly, so real question. I mean,
he's really making some nice plays here fifty seven yard.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
I think so, and then he had another big one
late in the game over the middle. But I think
he's having fun. I think this entire team is starting
to real that if they play up to their standards,
you can have fun. But you're also a talented team
that can win and string games together. They've done that
to the tune of six in a row.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
So it's interesting. With Dalton Schultz. If I told you
before the start of the season that he would break
over and Daniel single season tight end receptions record, you'd say,
all right, maybe but he's doing it and he's got
three games to go. He had height catches for seventy
six yards and a score today. He's one of the
most valuable weapons on this team, and he's got more
receptions than anybody else his.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Third fourth year here, yes, third year here, yeah, third year.
I probably would have gone with you on that seventy
catches for him this year because he's in his third
season with the same quarterback. The chemistry has been built
now where you know a guy's body language whether he's
running an out or an in based on how he moves.

(03:52):
And so when you put all that together and the
time spent with CJ, it doesn't surprise me that he's
broken that.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Record about Kamari Lassiter with a pick today. The guys
in the secondary, I know Brissett kind of got his
today a little bit. Two hundred and forty nine yards.
That was a lot of yards against this defense, the
most this season through the air, three touchdowns, one pick.
But it was one of those weird games too, where
you're supposed to beat the other team. I'm gonna put
that in an area.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
I'll give you a way to look at this. When
you look at Jakobe Brissett's performance and you're like, oh, yeah,
that's pretty decent in terms of yard they're behind all game, right, yep.
He's gonna throw the football a bunch, right yep. So
you're gonna get the yards and you don't mind giving
them up if that's the If those are the circumstances
in which he gets to two fifty, they've got to
throw their way back into a game, and it's gonna
be a direct reflection of what the quarterback is doing

(04:41):
and how he's playing.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
The tightest they got it was thirteen points once the
Texans opened up that seventeen nothing lead. Houston ends up
winning by twenty today and we'll talk more about the
Raiders what do they bring to the table, because they're
much and then the Chargers they bring some stuff and
that's gonna be in LA. And the Chargers knocked off
the Chiefs today and sent the Chiefs home on vacation.

(05:05):
They are eliminated from playoff contention. Mahomes left the game
with an injury. Minshew got picked on the final drive
for Kansas City, so they could never even squeeze off
a field goal attempt. That one ended badly for Kansas
City at Errol.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
You know what I'm anxious to see. What's that a
forty five year old guy played quarterback who hadn't played
in five years. That's kind of the wait to get home.
Put my feet up, take my shoes off, and watch this,
cause it's gotta be a train wreck, ready to.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Have and then you're gonna try a comeback. Just kidding, folks.
Forty to twenty Texans winners today, he's loosening up the
wing right now. We'll be back to recap more of it.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
