Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello Texans, Welcome to the program. Mark Vandermier and John
Harris with you as we continue our evening shows from
the Greenbrier in West Virginia. And you're sick of hearing
about this resort and that we're having a good time
watching the Texans practice. Listen, this is work, okay, watching
the Texans practice get ready for the season. I don't
work for a living. I do what I love, so

(00:20):
I'm lucky to do that. And we are at Slam
and Sammy's Sam Sneed's Sports Bar because he was the
pro here a thousand years ago and it's a beautiful
place and we've told you that plenty. So let's get
down and dirty into the football business, Johnny. But this
is our last show from Slam and Sammy's. Tomorrow, best
of camp heading into preseason Game one, and I want

(00:40):
to start here. It's not like this is the end
of training camp once you hit the preseason games, because
they'll be back at it next week. Open practice is
there's a practice with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. That's
the last practice with all the fans there. There's media
at practice, so you're not really out of camp fully yet.
But it kind of feels like the end of camp.

(01:01):
This is definitely stage one. This is if this were
a Broadway play. This is act one. Act two is
coming up. It's loaded, but Act one is really important.
And it's been over two weeks because they started on
July twenty third, Wednesday. So here we are after Thursday practice.
They won't have a practice tomorrow. They'll do something, but
they'll get on the plane and go to Minnesota for

(01:22):
pre season outing number one. But I kind of feel
like this is the end of training camp, or at
least a big part of it. That's that's kind of
the way I felt about this.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
And obviously you got joint practices, so you'll ramp it
up for your joint practices against the Panthers and then
the Lions. But from now until September seventh, yes of
the day, so we're a month away.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
We're a month away. A month away. Today we will
be out in la taking on the La Rams.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Potentially Matt Stafford apparently he's gonna be back at practice.
I have a hard time seeing how effective you can
be if it's an aggravated disc and I have to
be very careful about it.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
That uh.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Sean McVeigh did did They actually said it at his
Prescotton Okay, so we'll see. He said he's gonna practice
next week, so okay, rock on. But I just I'm
telling you I've had that that injury Drey's had. Dre
has it right now. It is debilitating. Obviously, we are
in our fifties, so it's a little bit different, but

(02:21):
I'm telling you it is debilitating. And he was talking
McVeigh was about he was taking Stafford was taking epidural shots. Yeah,
you're taking ap duraal shots. It gives you maybe two
to three hours of relief.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Who reported that McVeigh. I don't know, something's up. This
is strange, so we'll get right. We'll see.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
But either way, Uh yeah, I felt like it was
definitely kind of the end of camp and unfortunately there's
a big injury that happened today in camp.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
That was all. I mean, everybody saw, everybody saw the reports.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
I mean everywhere every Texas media remember that was there
was tweeting about it and posting about it. And it's
unfortunate about C. J. Gardner Johnson and we just we
love the guy. We've got to know him over a
short period of time, and he really was fitting in
this defense, and you could just tell when he was
down on the ground. There was just a there was
silence throughout the training facilities. So you got to deal

(03:17):
with that now. As you said, we were walking over here,
we're kind of discussing this and you made a great point.
You're like, hey, this didn't happen in the practice with
the Lions, and all of a sudden, we've now got
ten days before we play or whatever, you know, two
weeks whatever until we.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Play, five hard contact meetings, three games, two joint practices.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Unfortunately, to put the injuries at that position are piling up.
You were going into camp already with Jimmy, were in
a pup list, and you don't even know what's going
to happen after that with the off the field situation.
Then in Houston, Jalen Reid got hurt and you don't
know his status. Haven't seen him since, and we haven't
seen him since. And now you've got CJ. Gardner Johnson.
So you went in to practice with six guys you

(03:59):
were open could place true safety. Now you've got three
healthy guys going into this game of Minnesota. You've got
Kaylen Block you've got m J. Stewart, and you've got
Rush East. Now all three of them have had really
good training camps, like really good. Yeah, but that's just
leaving you no depth at that point. Now you can
Petrie can go back there and play some at safety.

(04:20):
I think Miles Bryant could go back there and play some.
I think he's been one of the best players in
training camp. So you have some options to play back
there at safety. You're just obviously in this preseason game
against the Vikings, you're not gonna have You're not gonna
have the opportunity to find somebody and put him in
that game at safety. And you're not gonna play Petrie
but a quarter if that, I don't even feel start

(04:42):
he'll play. So you're gonna be kind of limited at
that position as you go through that particular preseason game.
But it gives as I said in a text as
we were kind of trading text amongst our broadcast group,
Hey let's let let's let Nick cook. What can he find? Yeah,
you never know. He's been able to find player along
the way at various positions that we didn't see coming,

(05:03):
and he was able to pull it off, find replacements
for injured players and make.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
The most of it.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
So the situation as it sits now is he's kind
of put under gun.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Now you can justin Simmons and Marcus Williams. There are
some guys that.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Made a lot of money last year at safety. I
don't know if that's the answer, but I also know
that one guy that they worked out last week that
it was announced was Jalen Mills. Now, Mills played with
the Eagles, he played with the Patriots. I think Nick
I think he was drafted or I think he was
drafted with the Patriots, so I think Nick knows him.
There was a guy they worked out last week when

(05:38):
they were in Houston, and I think he would be
a really good fit for this defense. He's got a
little bit of what's the right way of saying it,
and I don't want to say crazy, that's not the
right word. He's a highly emotional player. He gets after
it and plays pretty hard. So I wouldn't be surprised
if they went back to Jalen Mills. Now, you don't
know what they found out in the workout, but my

(05:59):
hope is that you know, we're able to work on
a guy that was healthy and just maybe not the
right time, but maybe it's the right time now, So
we'll see what ends up happening.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
We was with the Giants and the Jets last year,
and you're right, well, he wasn't drafted by the Patriots Eagles,
but he was with the Patriots in twenty one through
twenty three. And look, everybody knows everybody, and he's thirty
one years old from De Soto, and you never know
they worked him out. You say, you never know, so
we'll stay tuned for that. But you laid it out

(06:29):
very well that going into this game, just this game,
it's a preseason game. Guy's got to play a lot
of snaps because you don't want to risk your starters.
I don't know if they get much action at all,
Tamiko said, we will hold out some guys. That could
mean anything. You and I are going to know more
tomorrow after our production meeting. But that stuff is really
for the broadcast itself, so we'll see how it goes

(06:51):
once we kick off three o'clock in Minnesota. So this
to me is it's kind of a survival game, right.
You want to see how the team looks, but you
don't want to risk too many people today they did
and hey, you guys, what are you talking about. This
is our chance to see the team. I get it,
I understand it. And this is the problem with preseason games.
The coaches don't want to put everybody out there for risk.

(07:11):
You don't want to take the quarterback to the ground
because in practice, joint practice, you have control of those things.
In the preseason games you don't. Somebody wants to make
a name for themselves. Here you go, CJ. Stroud, Your
risk injury, your risk injury everywhere up and down the roster.
But today they ran a simulated game, so they were
going out it pretty hard, and they were doing field

(07:32):
goal kickoff, timeouts, between quarters, switch ends, all that stuff
to get a feel for what it's like to be
in the rhythm of a game. I remember during the
COVID year, Bill O'Brien did this because there were no
preseason games. He did it twice in the bowl in
the stadium to get the guys used to football. All right,

(07:52):
that's what the preseason games are good for, just getting
acclimated to playing in a game again and the rhythm
of it and warming up then getting right into it.
They did their full pregame warm up today as if
they were playing an actual game, and it was pretty cool.
So they did this on a Thursday knowing they're playing Saturday.
To me, that says they're holding out a lot of guys. Yeah,
I think so. We'll see now next week at home

(08:14):
against the Carolina Panthers, I doubt they hold out as many,
but they do have joint practices, so it's anybody's guests.
We'll find out more as it unfolds.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Yeah, and today CJ and Davis took all the reps. Now,
I do think that Davis will play, and but I
don't think. I don't think CJ will play. And again,
I understand it gets frustrated the preseason. You're like, Hey,
I want to hear these guys that you've been talking about.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Just be patient. You'll eventually get to see him.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Because I do think Demico will play everybody throughout training
camp that's healthy. I don't think Joe Mixon is going
to see preseason playing time, even if he were healthy
at this point, because of what he's he's been through,
et cetera. But I do think there will be some
guys maybe for the next couple of weeks, maybe we'll
see Damian Pierce next week. Maybe we'll see Christian Harris
next week. Either one of those guys participated practice today,

(09:04):
so it is a slow ramp up for them to
get them ready, but hopefully they can be ready by
the Panthers joint practice.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
They could play in the game against the Panthers in
the preseason.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
But the purpose of preseason obviously is to get you
ready for the game or for the regular season. But
you obviously want to be smart about it. You want
to get to the finish line of preseason with as
much gas in the tank as you could possibly have.
And it's unfortunate that today in a scribbage situation you
lose you know, CJ. Gardner Johnson for the rest of practice.

(09:34):
We'll see what it means. It was just one of
those things. It was one of the freaky thing.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
It could have happened in a nontack practice. It wasn't
like no contact. There was just a little interaction with
John Metro who caught a ball from c. J. Stroud
and it was nothing dirty or strange. It just happened.
So these things do happen. It's football, it's every sport,
and it just sucks because you wanted to see what
he could do for this football team, and he looked

(09:58):
like a front line guy.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Yes, absolutely, And I think that was the That was
the thing that hit me was, man, you had you
have so many ballhawks back there, and you lose you
lose one. Now, look, you're you're not crying poor because
you still have one of the better secondaries in the league.
Because the the other three starters if you will, or
four starters if you will, have experience, they have ball skills.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
One is the best corner in the league.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
And I'm telling the other one is coming on fast,
and that's Kamara Laster. Kamara Lasser has been I think
you could argue that there have over the full camp.
Maybe not because I think Will Anderson Junior has been
that guy, but I think since we've been to the Greenbrier,
Kamara Laster might be the best football player we have here.
He's been tremendous, absolutely tremendous cover wide receivers, covering tight ends.

(10:50):
He's been force full in the run. He popped what
he marks today on a run play was.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Like, oh God, and Nick Chubb yesterday, Chubb day before
that frightening. And here's the thing they don't throw at
Stings because he's Stingley. So there's nowhere to rest your
eyes if you're the quarterback. And Nick Cayley, wait, where
do we go with this ball? I don't know? And CJ.
Gardner Johnson was playing that well for you as well.
And you know about Petrie playing the slot and doing
all these things that he started to do last year

(11:15):
and really started to do throughout in his entire career.
But they changed the role a bit last year. That's
another one. They could change him back to a safety,
a real safety, real safety. I hate to put that
in the air quotes, but I will. And you don't
know how Jalen Smith's gonna factor in. Could they move
him around? All right? So we did see the simulated game, slash,
scrimmage whatever. Today. Let's do one encouraging thing each. We

(11:37):
gave you the discouraging thing, which was CJ. Gardner Johnson
getting injured. Don't know what the timetable is all that,
but it did not look good. And Sewn described it
very well on the air because I was listening to
those guys finishing up their show as I was watching practice,
and Sean described it well. I mean they brought out
the cart. Everybody came around to the cart. After that,

(11:57):
everybody huddled around to Miko Ryans and he talk to
the entire team. I'd love to be a fly on
the wall for that one. And they finished off the
scrimmage well, both sides making plays. It was good to
see and there were a lot of things that we
can point to, But what was the most encouraging thing
for you? And I want to see if it's the
same one that I have on my list.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
I think the injury to CJ. Gunner Johnson is definitely
the lead of practice unfortunately, But if you had another
headline and you were looking for a kind of good
news bad news situation, I feel like the pass protection
today was outstanding, okay, and it was wasn't perfect. They
missed a free runner on Henry one time. Henry blasted
off the right side and was able to tag off

(12:38):
on CJ one time. And that's the only time that
I can remember throughout the Greenbrier and even back home,
where there was a free runner at CJ or a
quarterback and nobody, nobody had eyes on him, and it
was the only time I can remember that. I just
remember hearing somebody Yo, free runner, free runner, and Henry
was you know, he was there. But other than that,

(12:59):
I thought the protection was outstanding. I don't know if
that's the one offensive line, the first offensive line they're
going with. But and I'll say this right now, I
was pretty convinced that Titus Howard moving to guard was
going to be a good thing for this football team.
But since they've put Titus back out to right tackle,

(13:20):
they have had more time to throw throughout this camp.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
And who's playing right guard Johnny right now today? Juice Scruggs.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Juice Scrugs, Yeah, Juice, And I think Juice did some
good things. But they did some good things in the
run game too.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
You know it.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
You know they as we talked about, they run a
lot of duo, which is essentially a power planning inside.
You get a fore these double teams and you're getting movement.
It just gives the running backs some opportunity to get
up in a line of scrimmage and make some moves
out of that. But even the run blocking has been
I think much improved. But the pass pro today was
really good. Will and Denil weren't tearing up practice. They

(13:57):
were able to get some time to throw. There's one
play because there was calm later and later as they
would call it the third quarter, I guess, and Brevin
was running a deep over out, so he started the
right side and then he was running a deep overroute
to the opposite side.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
It's a long route and it takes a while to
get there.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
And I just remember cg in the popular throw It,
Throw It, Throw it, and I'm like, wait, why am
I saying that. Look, he's got time, Like they're not
within his they're not within his space, and he had time,
and then he just dropped the dime on the Brev
on the other side, and Brev was able to run.
He was covered pretty well, so he was able to
run and then tap the toes and get out of
bounds about twenty yard game. But I just remember thinking,

(14:36):
I guess, because maybe I'm wired that way, throw it,
throw it, throw it, throw it, because it's coming right.
There's fifty one, it's fifty five. They're gonna get and
they didn't get there. And there were a number of
times it was it was like that. Now I don't
remember them running as me stunts and things like that,
but I think they're doing a better job passing off
some of the twists and stunts. Now they didn't in
the one on one two on two drill the other day,

(14:58):
Devon's line dominated wh they got in a team situation,
they seem me working a lot better together. They're getting
a little bit more movement up front. The rookie left
tackle is not scaring me in the slightest. I think
Ariante Is is doing really well. Uh for for a
guy that a rookie starting at left tackle, it doesn't
happen often at all.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
What a tremendous plus that.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Way, And if that continues to ascend, Man, what thee.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Does he need to play Saturday, regardless of everything else, Yeah,
he does. He needs to get a taste. I think
he needs a taste at least a drive or something.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
I think even the offensive line that played, even with
Titus and Uh would juice the offensive line that they started.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
With, whether it's Mills or not.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
I think that that group should be out there get
you know, get some reps together. You know, Minnesota will
probably throw you, you know, they'll throw their base look
a little bit, but they'll probably mix something up in
there that you haven't. Yeah, right, you're gonna see something
that you haven't seen. And I think for this group
to be able to see it, I think it's going
to be a good thing. I remember the real thing.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
I remember the first time I saw a blitz in
a preseason game, I thought, are you even allowed to see? That's?
Mind blowing up? Is that permissible? And now you just
see the last ten to fifteen years, you've just seen
the pre seas completely change. You know, When I first
started in this league in two thousand and two, the
preseason was a gentleman's games, right, it was stay your
cover two, Yeah, four to three cover two will be good.

(16:24):
If you can beat us like that, you can beat
us like that, right. My most encouraging thing was similar
to yours, but it was the running. It was the
run blocking and the running. And Darry was RB one today.
Pierce was back yesterday. When they did the walk through,
Pierce was RB one. We said, Chubb's got something. We
don't know exactly what the timetable is with him. And
you know, Joe Mixon's on NFI, non football injury, don't

(16:45):
know what the timetable is on him. So Pierce got
back two days ago, and Pierce had the pads on
and it was really cool to see, but he was
off to the side with Christian Harris. Then yesterday and
the walk through speed stuff, they were both with their
respective ones. Today, you weren't gonna see piercing this. It's
too much to go from where he was ramping up

(17:06):
and then boom, get out there in a scrimmage where
they're really coming after you. I mean, they're not trying
to take you to the ground, but guys aren't going
to the ground. So today daries RB one and I'm
sitting in the stands and the bleachers in the end
zone up high, and I can see the holes opening,
and Darry had some twitch cut back ability. Darry looks

(17:26):
very spry. He looks as good as he's ever looked.
He had, he had moves, he had speed. You know,
he's not like Barry Sanders out there. Okay, but he's okay.
Four yards five yards great. You know, we got it
down to third and three and CJ quick pass conversion,
let's go offense. Opening drive. Today they get it down

(17:47):
to the twenty one and they have to settle for
a field goal. Third down. Schultz covered, couldn't get it
to him. Okay, at least it's a field goal drive
from where we started in this camp. I thought, that's
like winning a play game. You know, seriously, all right,
I'm having fun here, but I was encouraged. I said, Okay,
I'll take a field goal drive against this defense the

(18:07):
way things were going previously. And you know what else,
And you tell me if I'm right about this. My
other theory is, and a lot of these practices, offense
is working on situational works and not time and down
in distance. As much as I dropped back passing. Okay,
quick game, okay this, but the defense is aware of
these things and they're capitalizing right now. Offense today it's

(18:29):
move the ball whichever way you want and can. And
that's why some of CJ scrambles today. I'm like, I
like that element. We talked about it last year. Hey,
run the ball a little bit, just slide.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Slide, slide, and they've been working on that. And you
know how they've been working on that with the blue
slipping slide. Oh really, he's right down there. Seven is
right down golf cart. I don't know if he's going
to go hit the golf. He might just be taking
a scenic tour. I don't know it might be, but
either way, I think that's that's You're right. Each day

(18:59):
they've been so intentional about what they're working on that day,
and they're almost just screaming it to the defense.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Hey, today is play action day, Today is deep shot day.
It's almost like they've done that.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
But then today when it was move the ball, however,
you can all, right, well, now they got the defense
of their toes back on our heels a little bit,
and I thought that was good. That would that I
think would be another positive we throw in there. But
to change things up, I'll throw in another one, but
I'm staying with the offense for this one. Yesterday we
sat in these very seats and we went through a
fifty three man roster and one of my favorite guys

(19:31):
we've ever had here, I couldn't find a role, couldn't
find a spot in the fifty three. And I was
kicking myself the rest of the night thinking there's no
way Xavier Hutchinson's got to make this football team. And
then today he has. He has one of the few touchdowns.
He had a deep over out on a bootleg, which
was beautiful. Yeah, he goes in the end zone untouched
he had another couple of catches in there.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
Specially was that a two point play. Beau all the
point route was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
He ran the what I call the Edelman, which is
one of the great routes I think all time where
ed Edelman mastered.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
He ran in Super Bowl against the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
He'd run be outside, he'd run hard inside, like he's
across the field. He'd stop on a dime and then
break right back out. And the dB is the DB's
like toast because the dB thinks, oh he's going across,
I'm man, and man, I gotta go with him. So
you start sprinting that way. All of a sudden, Edelman stopped.
He ran it route like a master. Hutch ran that

(20:26):
today and got wide open for a two point play.
And I just remember thinking, as I was writing my book,
I'm such an idiot. This guy's got to make the
fifty three. He's got to. He absolutely has to. He
makes too many plays. He's too good on special teams.
He might be the number five wide receiver, and yet
they're gonna find a way to get him involved in
some way, shape or form.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
I'm not so sure he's not higher than number five.
Because the way he played today, Johnny, that was almost
a revelation to me. We've seen him make plays before,
but Hutchinson was reliable. Yep, he looked really productive out there,
got himself open. I'm looking at today. You know, it's
funny we're talking about that yesterday, like, all right, what's

(21:08):
his role? He's gonna make it right? Yeah, And I've
emerged from that twenty four hours later, I'm saying, I
don't even want to see him play on Saturday. Bubble
wrap him. Of course. Now you're gonna have to see
him play on Saturday. They got to roll somebody out
there because they got Johnny Johnson out, Jared Wayne out,
because those guys got waved injured. They brought and cephas.

(21:28):
I don't know how much he's gonna be able to do.
He'll be able to get out there and do something,
but this is not the same offense he ran when
he was here last time. So are we looking at
some sexcents out there in the driving ring? I think
that's Will Anderson Junior. You got to see this swing
man we're watching. I think that's Will from a DiscId.
These guys are just having I think Will is on
the left side hitting some balls. They're just hitting some

(21:48):
balls on the end. You know what, they're natural athletes.
Give him like three swings and all of a sudden,
the thing's gonna go a mile.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Well, CJ has that. We watch him during pregame. CJ
does that warm up with that ball thing. So he's
taken like golf swings open hips. I saw Slovas using
it too, and I watch watch Will swing. You could this.
This is the swing of a guy that just is
a terror on a days. I mean, he gets all
of it.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
I think they played in the Texans Charity Golf Classic.
That one did go too far. I'm not gonna expose.
We saw fair Baron finishing up yesterday his round knocking
in this I don't know six seven foot putt to
get a par when he went up and down on
this very tough eighteenth whole par three. And Christian Kirk
was playing so later in the afternoon, you know they're

(22:33):
off time. They can get out here, and that like
sticks a little bit. When when we were.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
Recording yesterday, we're slamming Sammy's we look over and we
hear a voice. We're like, oh, look over, and Will's
just sitting at the bar house chilling, having a water,
and bartender was chopping it up with him for a
little bit.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
So oh, Johnny, that bartender though, Okay, he's not here today,
so I can say this, could say this, there was
a bartender here yesterday. Is basically doing a podcast with
Will Anderson. Poor Will's just trying to have a moment
of solitude. Quiet. He's not even drinking alcohol. He's like
having a water, just a TV, you know, just a
chill out right, just to just to chill out. And
the guy is just talking his ears. He's talking about

(23:09):
Houston sports too. Yeah, and it's like, come on, just stop.
And the guy's a mile a minute. You know. In fact,
we should probably hire this guy. Yeah, I mean he's
an inning. He's definitely you can tell. Will's like, yeah,
as opposed to our our guy here, Deck from Indonesia,
who gets us great donold commers, that's perfect. Yeah, he
just gets us, gets us stealthy. Yeah, you know, as

(23:32):
we're talking, he gets us arm palm, it gets her
mind's right for this program, that's what we need. We
need this out all right. So coming up on the program,
we gave you what happened on the scrimmage today, simulated game,
whatever you want to call it. Team will travel to
Minnesota tomorrow and we expect Davis Mills to play back
at the Greenbrier. Texans leaving tomorrow to Minnesota for the

(23:52):
preseason premiere Saturday at three. It'll be live right here,
and one of those guys playing likely to be Davis Mills.
Of course, this is his the backup quarterback. You want
him to be good. You don't want to see him
in the regular season, but you're going to see him
this month. Mills entering year five. John Harris catches up
with Davis Mills. All right, Davis Mills with me.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
I told Davis a few weeks ago, I thought, this
is the best I've seen him throw the ball. You
seem so very comfortable throwing the ball at Davis.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Is that kind of the way you've seen training camp
for you?

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Yeah, it's it's been fun to get back going. We
are a really talented team, a lot of guys working
really hard to earn their spots and keep getting better
and better each day. Great new offensive coordinator and some
ads to the QB room, and we're just kind of
pushing every day to get better. And put this team
together and go out there and have a good game

(24:43):
on Saturday and going forward.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
How's it been learning this offense?

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Are there pieces of this that you're familiar with at
any point that's made it kind of.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
A smooter transition. How's that kind of growing in the
offense been for you?

Speaker 4 (24:54):
It's been great.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
I mean been in the league going into five years now,
and this is my fourth different offense, so it's actually
been cool. I have some similarities from kind of all
the offenses I've been in previously, and it's kind of
a little bit of the best of all of those
coming together into this one. And it's been a lot
of fun, uh, talking through a lot of the plays
and installing concepts and just going back and we wouldn't

(25:18):
say reminiscing, but just pulling from what I've done in
the past and thinking of successful things and how we're
putting it in to utilize our playmakers on the edge,
and use our line up front and the run scheme
and our backs strengths. And it's been really fun just
seeing how it's all come together.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Got a few new pieces, especially at wide receive.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
What's that been like?

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Kind of growing the communication with Jalen Nole, Jaden Higgins,
Justin Watson, kind of the new guys of the group.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
What's that been like, kind of growing with them as well.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
It's been great.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
Started off back in OTAs and building going into training camp,
kind of starting to hit our stride. I think we
got to keep growing and keep getting better each day
because it's not close to a final product, but I mean,
that's what's exciting about it. We have a ton of
flashes in great plays now, and you only know that
we can keep getting better and better. And I think
that's one of the strengths of this this offensive scheme

(26:13):
is it gives guys a lot of freedom to beat
playmakers and bring out their natural ability and instincts to
get open and went on the edge.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
So I see you wearing long sleeves.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
No, sometimes you might do at home, but definitely out
here at the Greenbrier, you've worn the long sleeves. How's
it been being up here? Having this cool weather kind
of bring you back to college a little bit where
it's a little bit cooler than the ninety five degrees
plus we've been seeing your five years in Houston.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
It does the weather up here in West Virginia is
a little bit cooler than Houston is currently. But yeah,
I'm wearing long street long sleeves. I used to have
to do this in college. I would wear two or
three undershirts when I practice to try to sweat because
the dry air when it was sixty five and sunny
every day, you're not really getting any moisture in the

(26:59):
air to kind of the sweat.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
So that's been great out here.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
We're enjoying it.

Speaker 4 (27:04):
It's beautiful.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
You see the mountains in the background of the practice
field and can't really imagine being on another or a
better spot to be out here and go through camp
with the.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Team, game day Saturday vikings seeing a different color jersey.
I know for you it's a little different. I mean
you're facing a different color jersey.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
But for the rest of the guys, everybody being able
to hit somebody else.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
You gonna throw against a different defense.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
What Saturday gonna be like for you?

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Yeah, it's gonna be a lot of fun. I think
it's gonna be exciting for me. I mean, obviously, every
time you step on a football field and competition it's exciting,
So it'll be a lot of fun to do that.
Show what I can do as a playmaker, but then
also try to elevate all the guys around me and
really let the all the work that's gone in up
to this point in camp kind of display itself out

(27:51):
on the field.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Davis, I appreciate it. Best of luck, Matt, thank you,
thank you. There's Johnny with Davis Mills. Now. I had
a chance to visit with Luke Leche, who was drafted
late rounds by this team this offseason and his dad,
Jim Leche, NFL legend. We had him on the show
earlier this week, three time pro bowler, former Washington player,
San Diego Raiders, et cetera. Anyway, I talked to Luke

(28:13):
about that and about how he's doing in this camp.
All right, Luke, it's been a while since we talked.
How's it going for you?

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Good?

Speaker 5 (28:19):
Yeah, it's been a great camp so far. A lot
of great uh, you know, new things to learn and
everything like that. There's obviously we're in a new place
right now, so it's just adapting and trying to make
the most of it.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
You guys have been in pads a lot. Talk about
the blocking part of what you do. How tough is
that against members of this defense.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
Yeah, I mean we've got a great defense, so you know,
all around a great defense, so it's tough to get
in there and block. So but you know, I feel
like I've been coming along with that and improving every
single day. So that's that's the biggest thing, I know.
But you know, the defensive coach and all their staff,
they do a really great job of, you know, getting

(28:58):
them in the right position to.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Succeed over two weeks into camp and all the off
season practices and whatever you've done on your own. How
about learning the offense? How's that going for you?

Speaker 4 (29:07):
Yeah, it's good.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
You know.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
Obviously Dalton is a really great help, and all the
other tight ends in the room. Whenever we have questions,
we can ask them and then coach Morland does a
really great job of coaching that for us.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
So it's it's been really uh you know, kind.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
Of seamless, uh with with all of them, and you know,
it's just it's just a lot of studying on my
own just to make sure that I'm really getting it
down and uh, just making sure that I'm good to go.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
How's it been for you guys at the Green Brier
in the off hours. I know you have meetings and everything,
but what about whatever else you're able to do here?

Speaker 5 (29:38):
Yeah, I know it's great. I mean, obviously the biggest
difference is the weather. Uh you know, to be out
here and not not sweat every single time you walk
outside as a big deal. But you know, obviously the
Green Brier is a great resort, so uh, just whether
you're walking around the resort itself going I did a
bunker tour the first off day we had here, so
to learn about a little bit of history and uh

(29:59):
some some stuff like that.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
It was really cool. So, uh, it's it's really cool
to be here, though.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
What about having your family here, Luke, how was that? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (30:06):
It was it was really special, very very grateful that
they could make the trip. It's about four and a
half hour drive from Columbus, so they they came over
and got to watch some practices, so it was cool
to be able to see them after and you know,
spend a little time with them during the downtime.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
So your dad, a buck guye legend wearing the Iowa
football gear here, that's got to go over tough in Columbus.

Speaker 5 (30:28):
Yeah, I might, but you know what he he he
loves the hot guys. You know, obviously he supports me
a lot, so uh, it's cool that, you know, they
still love the hot guy so much. They've they've been
talking about and I don't Ohio State bye week when
he's not working, about going to an Iowa game. So
you know, we'll see if they get to do that
or not. But yeah, it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
So it was your last game. He goes to the
game and Ryan Day provides him a private plane to
get back for his Buck Guy radio broadcast. That was
strong stuff.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Yeah, that was that was awesome.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
It was a couple of days before I found out
that was happening, and you know, I was really grateful
that he was able to go do that because I
know how much he loves to call the games with
you know, his his his uh uh coworker, Paul Keels.
So it was it was really special that Ryan Day
offered that, and you know, I was just grateful that
he got to come to my game and then also
get to go call that one.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
What about you playing in your first NFL game of
any kind on Saturday? How excited are you for that?

Speaker 5 (31:21):
I'm really excited, Uh, you know, just to to go
against a different set of people, a different set of defense,
and it'll be it'll be a lot of fun just
to go out there, play in a new stadium and
you know, just go and compete.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Still big ten country too, That's it.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
Yeah, right there in the Midwest.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
It's all right. Cool. Thanks a lot, Luke, Thank you.
You'll see Luke Leche play plenty on Saturday at three
against the Vikings. Now, Steven Ruiz, he's from the Ringer
and he did some extensive research on your Texans the
last couple of days I visited with him. All right,
So Steven, tell me you came to look at c
J Stroud, among other things. What are your impressions of CJ? Overall?

Speaker 6 (31:59):
I just think, just reading the stuff from before I
got here, that he seems to be taking more command
of the offense before the snap. I know that's been
a talking point all the off season. And I think
he as a quarterback is his third year. I think
he's ready for that, and I think he's ready for
that step, and I think it's going to allow him
to kind of express himself more than maybe he was
able to. And then Kyle Shanahan's style offense, so I'm

(32:20):
really excited to see how that helps his game and
how that boosts his performance next year.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
Who else are you looking at around the AFC who's
going to have a year where they rise up a level.
Perhaps we could talk about some of the other guys,
but is there anybody else you have your eye on.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
I'll just stay in division. I'll go with Jacksonville.

Speaker 6 (32:36):
I'm really interested to see how Liam Cohen's staff kind
of helps Trevor Lawrence out.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
I don't think he's ever been in an offense that.

Speaker 6 (32:41):
Has made things easier for him. It's going to depend
on how good the offensive line is. The Bucks had
a good offensive line where Cohen was last year. But
I think getting that style of offense and putting him
in an offense where you take a little off his
plate mentally, I think he's going to bring the best
out of him because we know he's a physical talent.
We know he could throw the football well, it's just
about making the right decision over and over and over again.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
Where were you at with him when he was drafted
and early in his career. I know it's only year
five now, but versus now.

Speaker 6 (33:11):
Yeah, I was very high on him. I was one
of the people thrown around the generational.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
Tag like you weren't alone. No, yeah, I wasn't alone.

Speaker 6 (33:17):
I think Jacksonville thought so too, and I think while
he hasn't lived up to that, I think we have
to separate generational prospects and put the emphasis on the
word prospect.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
And generational player.

Speaker 6 (33:26):
I think he qualified as a generational prospect, but we
haven't seen him become that generational player yet. But I
think when you watch him, like whenever I get down
on him, I'm like, well, maybe he's not as good
as I think he is. I turn on the film
and an hour later, I'm like, all right, I'm back
to where I was day one.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
I like that generational prospect. I'm gonna use that. Okay, Steven,
what about cam Ward? What are your thoughts on how
he might be?

Speaker 6 (33:48):
I'm excited for him just because I was a huge
fan of his game. I didn't I don't watch a
lot of college football during the season because I'm covering
the NFL, But turning on his film, it was I
don't know if I've had more fun watching a quarterback
prospect before the draft, and I did with his film.
And I'm not saying that's a good like. That's not
always a good thing, like sometimes you're thrown across your
body and it gets picked off. But I think if

(34:09):
he can find that mill ground, because he definitely puts
some plays on tape where he looked like the cerebral quarterback,
the guy who doesn't make mistakes and can go, you know,
go on a ten play drive. If you can find
the middle ground between that and the playmaking stuff, I
think he can. He can be a top ten starter someday.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Yeah, what are your thoughts on Anthony Richardson versus Daniel Johnson.

Speaker 6 (34:29):
I'm still one of those guys that's not ready to
sell my stocking. Anthony Richardson.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
I think he's He's two years.

Speaker 6 (34:34):
Younger than BONNICKX, who just had his rookie year, and
I think there are very clear areas of hef informed
at the guy you can just go see to pass
under five yards. I think that opens up a lot
of his game. But it sounds like from what I've heard,
that he's doing the right things now. Maybe he's taking
his job more seriously.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
He's acting like.

Speaker 6 (34:49):
Him pro and it sounds like he's separating himself from
Daniel Jones. I was kind of confused by the Daniel
Jones scien. It's a lot of money to, you know,
kind of light a fire under your young quarterback. But
it seems to be working, so maybe it's money well spent.
But I'm really exciting to see him, excited to see
him in the preseason because I think with where he's at,
it's gonna be very easy to see to check the boxes,

(35:11):
you know, is he completing passes, is he taking his
check down?

Speaker 4 (35:14):
Is he not taking bad sacks?

Speaker 6 (35:16):
Is he's not taking big hits in the pocket or
outside of the pocket. So I think it's gonna be
an informative preseason for Anthony Richards and I think we're
gonna know very early on if he's gonna be the
starter for the full season.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Steven, give me a quarterback or two in the league
that does not get the respect they deserve. They're a
lot better than people think. The numbers might not show it,
or maybe they do. What do you think I'll go
with Gino smith Man.

Speaker 6 (35:38):
I've always been a Gino smith fan, Even before his
breakout with Seattle. I thought he got a raw deal
in New York. But just I honestly think he's a
glimpse into CJ. Shroud's future. Like the pocket quarterback who
isn't afraid to hang in there, isn't afraid to give
his guys an extra beat or two to get open,
and he's gonna make the throws. I don't want to
say that he's like a risky thrower, like a gunslinger,

(35:59):
I guess, but he's smart with it and he's gonna
give his guys a chance. And when you have good
receivers like the Texans have here, like he had in Seattle,
like that's the admirable way to play quarterback.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
That's that's the word I would use to describe it.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
When people ask you about all right, who's better Josh Allen,
Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes. Let's just put Mahomes,
I guess, in his own category. But what about those
other guys? They're all so different in a way, But
how do you answer questions like that?

Speaker 6 (36:25):
It's kind of impossible because they have different supporting casts,
they're asked to do different things. I think that's what
makes so it's so hard to compare quarterbacks and why
people get so upset when you, like rank a quarterback
ahead of another one. They're not asked to do the
same things. Like even with CJ, he's obviously asked to
do carry out a different role this year before the
snap and stuff like that. But like a guy like Lamar,
the thing I always say is he's a top ten

(36:47):
offense starter pack all on his own. Like, you know,
the running game is gonna be a top five unit
as long as he's back there. You know your offensive
line's gonna be gonna do well because they're afraid to
rush the passer and kind of get out of their
rush lanes. You know, you're not gonna get a lot
of coverage, so it doesn't matter if your wide receivers
can't separate because they don't want to turn their back
to the pocket that's gonna run for twenty yards. So
I've always been high on LAMARV and I feel like

(37:09):
my procession of him is finally caught up to the
results that we're seeing.

Speaker 4 (37:12):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (37:13):
He's the one guy that I would say he might
be up there with Pat.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
Yeah, very good, all right, Steven, thanks to love for
being with.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
Us, Thanks for having me.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
All right, there's Steven Ruiz coming up. Johnny and I
go around the league the Horseshoe plays tonight, among many
other things we have to discuss. It's next here on
Texans All Access Saturday start, probably, but you never know. Look,
I'm not gonna say CJ's definitely out. Dimiko did not
say that today. I'm not gonna speak for the coaching.

(37:40):
I don't know this lean. I'm not highing anything. I
don't know. I'm look, I'd love to see him too,
but I don't want to see people get hurt. So
it's a conflicted thing for me. But anyway, Johnny caught
up with Davis Mills. I caught up with Luke Lache.
We also have Stephen Ruiz the program and he's from
the Athletic And later on we'll go around the league
because there's some Lee info and somebody's playing tonight. Let's

(38:02):
get you ready. We'll do a mini Horseshoe pregame show
for tonight's outing. Whether you like it or not, it's
Texans Radio All our final journey at the Green Brier
as Tomorrow's show will be a best of camp show,
really great stuff tomorrow. Can't wait for that one and
the game of course Saturday at Minnesota three o'clock start.

(38:23):
But John Harrison and I wrapping things up at Slamming
Sammy's at the Green Briar overlooking the golf course and
some Texans on the range and it's a beautiful day,
and Johnny around the league. Some beautiful things going on,
like preseason football tonight featuring our favorite it's foe. And
when I say favorite, I mean you know the one
I like to hate the most, well two.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
Of them actually, Okay, Oh, because you've got Brown's Jags.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
Oh, I didn't realize Jags for tonight too. Yeah, I
think that's tonight. I believe it's tonight.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
And then you've also got the Horseshoe taken on the Ravens,
So you've got those games going on in the late
game I believe is Seahawks not take it back, No
Jacks tonight.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
It's Bengals Eagles.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
Okay, Colts Ravens, Bengals, Eagles, Raiders, Seahawks tonight.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
That's the late My gosh, is NFL network not going
to feed me the Colts because they think I want
to watch the Bengals and the Eagles. Oh no, he's
just red zone this thing.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
But you remember our friend Kay Adams upping Adams. We
shared a picnic table in about forty five minutes. A
good discussion. Last year, missed her this year? Where was
she when we needed her? Well, she's in Jacksonville.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
Oh okay.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
She had to sit down with the Unicorn, Travis Hunter,
and she asked him what it's been like going through
training camp. Is a two way player. I want you
to react to this. His quote and I quote, it's
not hard at all.

Speaker 1 (39:42):
Oh boy, oh boy. You know this is just Kay
Adams mesmerizing you into an answer that you're gonna regret later.
That's what it is. She has a mesmerizing quality.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
I still think, though, Mark, he believes that it's not
going to be hard at all. I can go cover,
I can go cover Icocollins the next series. I can
run routes against Derek Stingley. He thinks that's going to
be easy to do.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
It's not. I know, it's not. I know it's not.
What Adams said is such this seventeen games of this look.
He played really well for Colorado, right, what was the
record again? Never mind, it's not his fault, but I
feel like it's just going to be too difficult at
this level to do it on a sustained basis now

(40:28):
moments here and there and a package here and there. Wait,
which is the one where he's listed first team? Is
it dB? But he's watched. No, he's said first wide
receiver and then DB's on the back line. He is
an OR for the second team. However you want to
define that, oh, or okay, or could be a starter
or no, he's he's OR for the second team or

(40:50):
for the second second team.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
He's not quite the first first team. But yeah, it's
not hard at all. So I would imagine that that
comment will be posted in the Texans locker room.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
When what is it? We three? He's listen, he's gonna
get you answer this? Which position? Will he get more
grace from dB or w R? Uh? Oh oh wr? Yeah?
Because lack of production in division game, he'd better be

(41:21):
playing dB one hundred percent of the time. Well, I'm
just talking about if he's not producing like crazy on offense,
it'll be well, you know, he's playing defense also, so
what do you expect? Right? But if he's giving up
touchdowns at an alarming rate, and look, he's a rookie corner,
it doesn't mean you're perfect. I mean it's a rookie season.
I don't care if you're full time, part time, whatever time,

(41:43):
it's going to be difficult.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
And look, DFC South has not thought to be a Juggernau.
In fact, Madden has it as the worst.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
Division of football.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
However, what that does mean is he gets six games
of Nicocollins, Christian Kirk, the Jet, the Cyclones, Calvin Ridley,
also the Culture receivers. I think the Culture receivers are
incredibly underrated. Yep, He's gonna face all those receivers. I mean,
it's no walking to park what he's gonna be facing
this year. And then it's the it's the AFC West,

(42:11):
NFC West, So he's gonna have opportunities against Pouku Nakua.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
Or Defonte Adams. He's gonna have to face Marvin Harrison.
I mean, he's.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
Gonna face a boatload of really good wide receivers and
then have to turn around and try and beat some
of the defensive backs and in those divisions.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
Yeah, and he's got to go up against the Charger defense. Okay,
the Bronco defense, which is the best in the world, right,
you're about to tell me that, yep, And the Kansas
City Chiefs defense, and the list goes on. It's not
gonna be easy.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
So going down my timeline today on x Twitter, Benjamin Albright,
who is a media member in Denver, tweeted this, I've
had a half a dozen coaches and Niners, Niners beat
people reaching out gushing over the Broncos defense in the
last forty minutes. Basic, the Broncos and forty nine Ers

(43:01):
are doing a little joint practice and apparently the Broncos
defense just completely destroyed the forty nine Ers offense today.

Speaker 1 (43:08):
Well, we know they can be good. We know they
have some elite players. They do that, YadA, YadA, YadA.
It's a joint practice. It's great. The Texans defense looks
great right now this time of year. Let's just see
what happens when we play the games. We'll be able
to match up with the Broncos and find out and
the forty nine Ers for that matter, and find out
how we stack up. And both those games are at home.

(43:28):
That'll be good.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
Let's go to the AFC West, all right. It's also
a team we have to play now. We don't play
him until later in the year, but he just signed
a big contract from out in your neighborhood from Clements
High School.

Speaker 1 (43:42):
Rayshawn Slayers.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Yeah yeah, cart is out appeared to be a left
leg issue.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
He's carted inside.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
Teammates all coming up to Hug Rayshawan Slayer sucks.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
That is awful.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
They just gave him a lot of money. He is
along with Joe All those two are one of the
better young Shoot, they're just one of the better offensive
tackle duos in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (44:04):
I just hate this.

Speaker 2 (44:05):
And within a day, I mean, he's who knows now,
who knows what that's gonna be. Obviously, Yeah, the reports
came out of here about you know, CJ. Gardner Johnson,
So we'll see. But just you hear that and you're like,
oh man, this sport is so fun and it's so
great to cover. And then you see a guy that
just got a massive extension, a guy that has been

(44:27):
really really good obviously from Houston. So I cheer for
him because he's a Houstonian. Just a one day that
we play them. I don't want him to, but he
is really good. He's been a great player and.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
Goes down Andre's gonna be thick about it and knows
his dad of course, and it's just terrible to see that. Look.
I wish everybody could just stay totally healthy. I know
I used to openly root for Andrew Luck to retire,
but that wasn't I wasn't rooting for him to get hurt, right,
I just thought he should retire for safety purposes so
he doesn't get hurt. And he did what I I suggested.

(45:00):
So I'm very grateful that Andrew. That was weird. That
was weird. That was weird.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
I remember I interviewed DeAndre Hopkins down on the sidelines.
As soon as I got done, you were like huge
news at Indianapolis.

Speaker 1 (45:12):
And I look over and there are guys on the
sideline and they're all huddle around a cell phone. They
found a cell phone. They heard found a cell phone,
and they're like oh, they look at So. I mean,
this is a big one.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Leave that Andrew Luck had retired, Yeah, retired.

Speaker 1 (45:24):
This is like, where were you when Kennedy was shot?
Now I wasn't alive yet most of us listening were not.
But it's one of those things. Okay, John Lennon dying, Uh,
I don't want to for instances, who who anno, ladies
and gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (45:40):
The one that did that one other piece of around
the NFL info Titans and Bucks today cam Ward apparently
some good, some bad through the interception. Has Son Reddick
had two other balls that probably should have been intercepted,
but apparently Titans and Bucks people gushing about one a
Mecca Buca.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
Oh boy, here we go the Bucks, Here we go,
and we go to see him week two. We're seeing
week two with Mike Evans. It's week one of the
home game schedule, week two of the entire schedule.

Speaker 2 (46:13):
Don't know if we'll see don't know who all will
see with the Buccaneers at that point, don't know if
Chris god will be back. But I'm telling you they
had a coup there, a couple of highlights that popped
up a Mecca book. I know that was a guy
that a lot of people in Houston had talked about.
There were some feelings. I'm both saw he's not a
great athletes, not this. Apparently he is tearing up the
Titans secondary and gonna be a major major piece for

(46:37):
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
Okay, good team, no doubt, and we're gonna see him
weapons yep. And we'll see the Titans a couple of
times as well. Can't wait for that. Can't wait for
the preseason opener Saturday at three, Chinny, you'll be in
the booth. I'm gonna miss you, yeah, I mean wave
a wave, but you'll do a great job there. People
will be watching you on ABC thirteen, and we'll be
on the air with me, Andre Robert Hen's, the whole

(47:01):
gang will be there, will be broadcasting NFL Houston Texans football.
It is a joy. Can't wait Saturday at three tomorrow,
Best of Camp Andre Johnson among others on the program.
Can't wait for that as well. Have a great night everyone,
Area forty five coming up. Go Texans.
