Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello Texans, Welcome to the show. Mark Vandermier with you
along with John Harris. We're in the Hunday Texans Radio studio.
Another busy day, not a practice day for your Texans.
That'll be tomorrow as they get to day eight of
training camp and we've got a lot going on Tonight.
Jonathan Alexander a visit with him. I know it's Thursday.
You're thinking, isn't it the General's night? And I know
Jonathan with the Chronicle, No, he has not replaced the
(00:21):
General on Thursday nights. It's training camp, so everything's a
little bit all over the place. The General will be
with us Friday morning eight thirty from the field, so
we'll get back to John McLean from the field Friday
morning eight thirty. It's gonna be a good visit as
we get into day eight. It's gonna be day eight,
day nine, and then travel to the Greenbrier for your Texans.
(00:42):
Also tonight. Mike Toman, President of the Texans. We'll hear
from him a little bit later on Justin Watson and
maybe a little Daria Gunbawally as well on the way out.
We'll see, we'll see how everything times out. Johnny, But
here we are Tomorrow. In pads are not prediction. We
don't know for sure unless you unless you found out.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
I think in pads tomorrow, not in pads Saturday.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Okay, I think they'll go in pads, have a good
solid work Saturday.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
But it's they're flying the Greenbrier.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
So I think there's gonna you know, I think, I
don't see, I don't back off is not the word.
But I think the pads will be tomorrow, and I
think the nonpads yet spirited practice will be Saturday before
we then take the spirited nonpad practice.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Let me ask you this question because I didn't do
this job. I love playing gridiron professionally, and I didn't
play in college and I didn't play anywhere. So here
we go. My question is this, When you have the
pads on, it's to prevent injury. When you don't have
the pads on, if they play spirited, would you rather
have the pads on because there's some cushioning of the
(01:52):
blow if you will a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
I mean, you just it's you have to be really
disciplined about Look, you know what I mean, pads on
you've been you kind of get in that mode where
you're banging pads. Even when the pads go off, you
still kind of have that same mentality.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
So you got to be really disciplined.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
And then one of the things I've heard of Miko
say a number of times, Nick has said this as well,
you got to take care of everybody. Yeah, you got
to realize that you're all in this thing together, and
if the pads do come off, okay, hey, let's be
smart about this. Let's not let our competitive urges and
ability to kind of one up the other guy to
continue to win when it's really not that necessary. It's
(02:34):
necessary for everybody to get work. So you got to
be careful, take care of everybody. But invariably you have
guys that are trying to make this roster. Every single
thing they're doing is trying to make this roster. They're
trying to become starters. So I think it can be
a little bit tougher when you've been banging pads for
days after days and all of a sudden, okay, now
you're in shorts of T shirts, Like, Okay, the mentality
(02:54):
has to change a little bit and you have to
be very careful that the flip side of that is
you still got to go get work done. Yeah, you
still have to get the work done, whether you have
PADS on or whether you don't. So I'm curious to
see how they put it together. I do think it's
a split. I think it's one day and pads one
day not and then and the reason I think it'll
go that way, pads Friday a little longer, just bang Saturday,
(03:18):
come back off a little bit.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Because we are traveling.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
You get the day off Sunday and then Monday and
the great weather of white silver springs, which, by the way,
I checked the radar or the weather for white silver springs,
I don't know, about two or three o'clock on today.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
This afternoon it was eighty six degrees.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
I'm like the outrage, I'm not, no, we're going no, no,
like Michael Scott and YOVS ncy's Toby Flunderson.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
No.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
But then I looked at.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
The forecast rest of the week and it's like not
higher than seventy six.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
So I'm like, Okay, I have to pack appropriately. I
haven't even packed yet. I'm saying I haven't either.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
But the thing is is you kind of got to
pack a little bit of everything yeah, you do. That's
where you get stuck. It's one of these luxury problems. Okay,
very true.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
As point I tell people who aren't from this city
when you talk about where you went on vacation, this
is not a vacation, but people can relate to this.
It's almost more important to tell the temperature of where
you were than the actual location.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Where'd you go?
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Seventy six degrees? Where'd you go? Eighty one degrees? Oh? Nice,
whehere'd you go?
Speaker 2 (04:19):
One hundred and four?
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Oh you went to Phoenix? Yeah, you went the Phoenix,
got it? Or you just stayed here during the heat
wave two years ago? That's what happened.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
How do we get through that?
Speaker 1 (04:29):
That was miserable And that was Demko's first year and
they had a good year and they didn't melt down
right late in the season. Had had the clunker against
Cleveland here that was also without CJ. And there was
an expiration date on case Keenum. I guess yeah. After
the dramatic victory up there against the Titans. I will
always remember that game for the rest of my Texans days.
(04:53):
That is one of the memorable ones. My friends, That's
one of those games. That's one of those games that
needs to be in a its own special box. That's
a good offseason shows all games that deserve their own
little shrine in the Texans Hall of Fame, if you will,
not as inductees, but these are special moments that we
never want to forget. Beating the Titans the first time
(05:14):
we played them in oiler uniforms and fairbaren kicks a
field goal for the win. Keenum gets the start. It
was so wonderful all the way.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
It was so awesome. And that game did not start well.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
The case through the pick six to Farley I think
it was, and we're down, but they kept they kept
coming back it, kept making plays. They just won play
after the next. I remember there were so many different
stars that day. Motor had that great screen catch. Dalton
Schultz had one of the catches of his career. Remember
(05:48):
when he stole that one away from Roger McCrary. Like Case,
it's a third down, Cases just got to get it off.
He's fading backwards, he just floats it and somehow mccrary's
got an interception about the five and Dalton go.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
And steals it from him. That was beautiful.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
And then Noah Brown, no Brown with the game tying touchdown.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
How about Motor with the catch and run to set
up a field goal for the Wine the screen. That
was just awesome.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
I mean, when you look back some of the wins
that year and you see and you see, you remember
who the players were that made plays like Noah Brown
made some humongous plays.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Guys, you're here anymore.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
You just think about those humongous plays for us.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
What about at Cincinnati Mike Bood has a really a
really key catch and gain to get out of bounds
before Noah Brown's catch that set up the field goal.
Like Mike Brown today who hit the game winning field
goal against the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Do you remember, Oh that was Ammidola?
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Matt E Mondola? Why Kaymi Matda Moondola.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
That's beautiful that, you know what. I know that, But
it's an easy miss if you're not paying attention. Totally totally,
all right, the guy who is making some plays out here. Look,
the quarterback is going to be a big topic in
training camp or any team. So you tell me CJ. Stroud.
Here he is in year three. This is the time
(07:06):
of year when you want to be trying new things.
He's learning the new offense. How's it going so far?
We have a long way to go in camp, but
how's it going so far? For number seven? John?
Speaker 3 (07:14):
I think he's right on track with where he needs
to be. I think he has when he's gotten a
little bit of time. Even when he hasn't gotten time,
he has made some just incredible throws. He made one
throw down the sideline ton Eco. He goes in man coverage,
Kamari was on him one on one, and I mean,
Nico's got obviously a physical advantage in that case, but
(07:35):
Kamari is great in no situations.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
If you remember in the Bills game from from the
Bills are.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Trying to get out of the end zone late in
the game and they threw a go ball to Keon
Colevian and Keon's like six four to ten and Kamari
went up and ripped it away from him and knocked
it out and the next two plays they were in complete.
Texas were able to kick field goal a little bit later.
But so CJ was like, I'm taking that, I'm taking
(08:02):
that route, and he.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Threw a beautiful backshort of ball to Nico.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Nico adjusts to it, makes the catch, and you're like, yeah,
that's the combination right there.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
There have been throw to throw that.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
CJ had Christian Kirk on the over route that was brilliant.
I mean Kirk had maybe a step I think it
was Petrie. He had maybe a step on Petrie. But
CJ threw that ball, which I think he throws exceptionally well. Right,
what do you say, Bill Walsh, one step ahead, one
one foot in front of him, one foot in front
(08:32):
of that's perfect. I mean Kirk was able to run
right through the catch. And you're like, that's that's the CJ.
We know there's so many things that he's dealing with
that are new. You don't want to get in a
situation where you're making excuses for CJ. You don't want
to do that. Well, it's a new offense, that's a
new coordinator, it's a new all line coach, whole line
is completely new. He's got new receivers thrown to. He's
(08:56):
good enough to overcome all of that. But but we
do have to in a sense grade him early in
training camp on a little bit of a curve. And
that's why I say, I think he's trending perfectly. He's
trending the way that you want him to be because
it isn't perfect. Things are new. At the line of scrimmage,
he's in a lot more control. But as they give
(09:18):
him more and more pieces to this offense. As they
go through, I think you're going to see more and
more success for CJ. Such that when we get September seventh,
he's sitting the ground running and he's gonna be very
difficult to stop.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Very good stuff. There. Can't wait to see him back
in action. A guy who's always in action at training
camp is from the Houston Chronicle, and that would be
Jonathan Alexander Johnny and I caught up with him and
asked him how camp is going in his eyes so far?
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Definitely competitive, man, It's been a good first few days.
Obviously the past came more in the last three, so
it's been a little bit more exciting and I'm really
interested to see what happens in West Virginia.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Jonathan, I'm still a question and a thought.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
I'm not concerned, but a question.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
I thought that the way Sean Peergass put it when
I was getting off the air with him a little
while ago, he said, how do we essentially grade CJ.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Stroud on a curve?
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Or what would that curve be given everything he's kind
of up against in this camp. You, I don't know
if that makes a lot of sense, but essentially, with
everything he's got going, how do we have to temper
our thoughts of criticism or not of CJ throws interception
or he doesn't have a great practice. Hey man, he's
dealing with a lot of new stuff. What are your
(10:30):
thoughts about CJ and kind of going through the first
part of this training camp.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
Yeah, dude, the first part of this training camp, you
got a factor in a lot of things. Like Number One,
this is a brand new offense. He's still getting used
to that. Number Two, he's going against one of the
best defenses in the league, So naturally the defense is
going to have a lot of great days. Then you
have to worry about the new offensive line as they're
developing cohesiveness, as they're moving guys in and out of
(10:58):
the lineup. There's gonna be.
Speaker 6 (10:59):
Some hiccups there.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
And then you got to worry about c J. Stroud
and himself really wanting to prove that last year was
really part of the process. To be honest with you,
that he was going to have some bad days and
that now he has he can go through some good
days and he can improve and have you know, more
(11:21):
confidence as he moves forward. So there are a lot
of factors, and I think you have defector that it
in but later in training camp or when you see
him go against teams in the preseason, that's when you
want to see the improvement over time.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
The offensive line, what do you think it ultimately is
when they hit the ground September seventh against the Rams,
they've developed. They're not the finished product at all, but
they've taken some steps forward a couple of days ago. Especially.
What do you think it overall here?
Speaker 5 (11:50):
Jonathan, Yeah, I think he's starting to take shape right now.
Through seven days, we've seen nothing but Cam Robinson this
first team and Thomason left guard, Camp at left tackle,
you got Titus at right guard, and ariantae Erstrie has
been consistent at right tackle for the past two or
(12:12):
three practices, and as long as he continues to get better,
which all his teammates say he is, he'll stick there. Now.
Center is the wild card. Obviously, they've switched a lot
of Jared Patterson and Jake Andrews. I don't see much
of a separation between the two. So I would think
that they would go with Jared Patterson week one, since
he has that familiarity with C. J. Stroud, and they'll
(12:35):
probably keep an eye if he struggles, then I don't
think that they'd be afraid to go Jay.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
Andrews earlier this week and of last week, Jonathan, there's
a it was a report.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
It was sort of vague.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
It's still when I go back and read it, it's
still vague about Joe Mixon and when he's going to
be available. So let's move Joe to the side of
the sense and talk about the running backs that we've seen.
Juar Jordan has been pretty good in camps, was what
he marks. Nick Chubb is learning this offense, but I
think Nick looks physically good, and we know Darry is Darry.
How do you look at the running back situation right now?
(13:10):
What's your level of panic, if you will, about Joe
Mixon and getting back. What are your thoughts about the
running backs where it sits right now?
Speaker 5 (13:19):
Yeah, that's the one concern I have, you know, you know,
I think there was a report that you know, he
could miss some time. You know, I think obviously it's
possible he'll miss the whole entire preseason, and then you
start to wonder how many regular season games he'll miss. Now,
if he comes back healthy by week one, then I
wouldn't have any concerns because I still think he's one
(13:41):
of the better bats in the NFL. But after that,
I had started to have a little bit concerns because
they had those issues last year when Joe Mixon and
Damian Pierce went down. And obviously Nick Chubb is is proven,
has a lot of experience, but you wonder, you know,
how he's going to be coming off that foot injury.
(14:03):
Does he have confidence in the knee at this point?
And you know, how is he going to be at
age twenty nine. I think that's a legitimate concern. Now,
I'm not saying he won't be good. I'm not saying
he can't gain any steam, but it's a question I have.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
What do you think about the other guys though? Jair Jordan,
what he Mark's out there? JJ Taylor's back, Now, what
do you think of some of the other running backs?
Speaker 5 (14:29):
I do actually like Juar Jordan. I mean, he didn't
look good in the return game, but he's been looking
good running the football. Has had some nice runs.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
I would say he can move.
Speaker 5 (14:39):
It's pretty fast, you know. I think he's going to
solidify himself, you know, as long as mixing An and
Piercer out as one of the running backs in the
stable room, and JJ Taylor also has experience as well.
I think Willie Marx is kind of coming on. They're
giving him some opportunities, and he has that ability to
catch the ball in the backfield. But I think the
(14:59):
Texans is gonna lean on Nick Chubb and darre A
goob Walle and maybe have Jawar Jordans there if things
don't work.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Out, all right, I this question is for both of you,
and I know I shouldn't ask him, but I'm going
to because I want to have fun with this. It's
either a question, okay, better defensive player of the year
candidate either Derek Stingley Junior, Will Anderson Junior or Daniel Hunter.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Jonathan, you go first.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Better defensive player of the Year candidate Derek Stingley Junior,
Will Anderson Junior or Daniel Hunter. This comes out of
a conversation I had with a buddy of mine as
we were kind of going a little bit back and
forth on who could be a defensive Player of the Year,
and he said Will Anderson Jr. I said, hey, don't
forget about Stingley, And I thought, man if Dedeal Hunter
has a year considering what the thoughts are on this defense,
(15:49):
maybe Daneil gets in it. Who is a better defensive
Player of the Year candidate of those three?
Speaker 5 (15:53):
Jonathan Go, You know, that is a good question, because
I think Derek Stingley Jr. Is going to have another
good year where he doesn't give up many catches. But
I do believe, as we've seen in camp, that people
aren't gonna test Derek seeingly now that they know who
he is. They are not going to test that guy
because they know he'll get a pick. So I don't
(16:15):
think we'll see as many opportunities from sting And I
think Will Anderson is really shaping up and it's coming
into his own as a pass rusher. I could see
him having somewhere between twelve and fourteen sacks this season,
and I think he will have a chance. He's been
working on trying to strip the ball. I think he's
(16:36):
gonna have a chance to win Defensive Player of the
Year just based on what he's been dominating out in
camp so far, and so much so that Jamika Ryan said,
you know, I might have to tell him to stay
away from the quarterback. And I think Danil he'll have
a good year. But I think Will Anderson is becoming
that guy.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
I mean, Daniel is such a freak of nature, you know,
to be in this league for a decade and still
be doing it like that. Yeah, and you're right about Will.
I think Will's have those games where he gets three
sacks three and a half against certain opponents, certain matchups,
they feast like what did that? Right? You really increase
the sack total against certain opponents. It's like baseball players.
You know, Al Twove goes four for four yesterday and
(17:14):
the next day you might go one for five, but
your average in general is gonna be pretty good because
now you're facing somebody else who can handle you a
little bit better. Maybe that kind of thing, and to
use another forget about the baseball analogies. I just think
that the guys on the back end, the other guys
other than Derek Stingley Junior, are gonna kind of take
some votes away, if you will, because they'll take the
(17:35):
opportunities away. The ball's gonna be flying in the secondary
and Bullock's gonna get picks and Lassener is gonna get picks,
and you know, if it doesn't go to Sting's direction,
Sting deserves a lot of that credit because they're not
throwing over there. They're throwing in the other direction, and
those guys are gonna get their hands on the football.
And it's gonna have a lot to do with what
Will and Daniel are doing. But I'm with Jonathan. Will's
the obvious candidate here. Danil please have another monster year
(17:59):
because it is so much a pleasure to watch and
I love that he's on this team and he's a
Eustonian and all that, but Will's ready to take it
to another level. He's healthy in camp and he's making
a lot of noise in camp. I like it.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Yeah, he's been.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
I see him on the field during practice and I
think about the different character he is in the building
and off the field than he is on the field.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Like, on the field, I.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
Want to stay as far away from him as possible
face yeah, Like I don't even want to approach him.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Yeah, But off the field, I want to hug him.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
I want to talk to him all the time.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Like he's he's that kind of guy and that smile
and all that kind of stuff. I mean, he's he's
just tremendous. Jonathan, your thoughts thus far on the progress
of the receivers not named Nico Collins in this wide
receiver room thus far this year.
Speaker 5 (18:49):
Yeah, I mean they've actually surprised me a little bit.
I mean we've seen the rookies Jalen Noel and Jayden
Higgins have their moments and both look good. Really impressed
with Jalen Noel, sorry, and even Braxton Barrios has made
a few plays. I didn't think he was going to
be that good, but I think he's gonna want to
(19:09):
make it hard for this coaching staff. I think Xavier
Hudgerson is doing what he's doing, you know, working hard,
has made a few plays there. But when you get
to the top guys who are going to play more
like Christian Kirk, you see what he can do. He's
been dominating, especially on that in the slote, especially on
that crossing route. He's gotten CJ. Gardner, Johnson and Jalen
(19:32):
Petrie a few times each. So you can tell he's
going to be a major factor as teams really focus
in on Nico Collins and trying to stop him.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Demiko Ryans talked about coaching, how he's handling it, delegating,
whatever your thoughts on the head coach Jonathan heading into
year three, how he's evolving in the position.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
Yeah, you know that delegating thing.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
You know, him.
Speaker 5 (19:58):
Delegating is a huge thing for him. You know, kind
of early on in that first season, he was trying
to do a lot and he's finding out they can't
do it all by himself. But that's been his philosophy
all along. He's always believed in giving people a chance.
He really focused in on players and giving them opportunities.
(20:18):
But now he's looking at coaching staff and giving them
more opportunities. I was talking to Dino Lasso, and he
gives a chance to present to the team on I
think Friday or Saturday nights and speak to the team.
He talks to them about takeaways. Even Roy White talked
(20:40):
about getting more opportunities. I think Demiico sis a lot
of potential in his assistant coaches, and they appreciate that
because many of them do want to be coordinators or
head coach in the future, and they believe that these
opportunities will help them.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
True or false or I should say this way, buy
or sell?
Speaker 3 (21:00):
The Anthony Richardson hype continues to grow in Indianapolis, Johnson,
are you buying or selling?
Speaker 5 (21:07):
I'm selling that. I think Richardson still has a long
way to go before he can prove himself. I do
think at some point Daniel Jones will he might even
start week one, you know, for his team, or if
it start Richardson, I think Daniel Jones will, you know,
(21:28):
win that job. I saw a story where Chris Bileatt
said that they're taking a patient route with Anthony Rigidson.
They understand that he just has had a lot of experience.
He should have sat and wised. Definitely admitting that. But
so I'm not buying on the hype this year. I
think it's gonna take some time for him to go
up into a serviceable quarterback and he still has that potential.
(21:49):
But I still think Daniel Jones is gonna win that quarterback.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
Battle Man training camp is the most reactive time of
year when you see these little videos like Lady richards Yeah,
look at this throw by Anthony Richardson. I'm like, Okay,
good throw. But it was you know the guy was covered,
he made the catch.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
Good.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Good, But you know what does that mean? Right? We
see it out here because you know how many reps
does CJ get the starting quarterback or any quarterback get
throughout a training camp session? Shot twelve to fifteen? Yeah, yeah,
if that right? If twelve to fifteen plays in a
regular game, that's nothing right, it's but we evaluate it
(22:28):
like it's the be all, end all Jonathan better year
Jacksonville or the Colts. Pick one who's gonna have a
better record at the end of twenty twenty five.
Speaker 5 (22:36):
I think it's a Colt just still have a solid team,
you know, aside from their quarterback situation. I think think
took a lot of steps to get better this offseason
and sign some pretty good free agents. So for that reason,
I think they'll be better than Jaguars. I think the
Jaguars are on the come up, but I think it
(22:57):
may take them just a little bit of time to
get better and improve.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
In the near future.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Jonathan the number, I'm going to say this for both
of you. I'm gonna set the number at sixty eight
point six percent of offensive and defensive plays throughout the year.
For Travis Hunter, are you going over under? So, if
we're doing a little bit of math here of total
plays of total play, say a game has one hundred
(23:27):
and thirty offensive defensive plays, sixty five on each side,
about that, that would mean that you're talking about nine wait, wait,
ninety one plays per game for a full seventeen season.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Are you going to go over or under my percentage number?
Speaker 5 (23:47):
I think I'll go over. I think they're going to
try to utilize him as much as possible possible. Now,
whether his body holds up, you know, I don't know,
but you know they've been using him on both sides
of the ball, one practice on offense, one practice on
defense in training camp, so I think they more than
I think it's more than likely they planned to use
(24:08):
him alive this season.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
What are your thoughts on Matt? Are you going over
under a net? Oh? Sorry, Johnny, I'm gonna go under.
That's a lot of that's a lot of a lot
of snaps, A lot of snaps to a big percentage,
a lot of snaps. And talk about you know, people
reacting to videos. I saw one of him making a
one handed pick or something, but it was on air
or whatever, and it was like you can tell that
he's going to be a supreme corner in this league
(24:31):
just by this highlight alone, because the ball looks different.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Nobody like him.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
You know, the Jags are the best, and it's not
always them putting it out as an organization, but it's
the best at the overreaction to training camp videos, The
best one ever, the all time winner is Trevor Lawrence
in a drill where he had dummies rushing literally like
coaches holding pads, rushing into the backfield and he throws
a touchdown past to Tim Tebow. That was the Internet
(24:58):
exploded him him both both the defense out there, bro
t Bow is going to be a great tight end.
Lawrence is going to be their best quarterback ever, and
obviously if that has not came to being. What's your
reaction to Matthew Stafford's back problems not participating? What do
you think happens Week one? It's all speculation, but it's
worth talking about.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
Yeah, beck issues are a tough thing, and you don't
want to put quarterbacks in that situation. I doubt he'll
probably play in the preseason, but you don't want to
put them in a situation where they get hit. I know,
the Texans are hoping that he probably doesn't play because
he gives them the best shot to win that game.
And if he is out, you know, I think the
(25:39):
Texans win that pretty handily as long as they're expecting it.
And I'm sure that the Rams won't reveal who's going
to be starting that Week one game. They'll try to
make it a little bit of a mystery. So the
Texans have the plan for both. But yeah, back injuries
are of a great concern.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Jonathan, Are you hiring an executive assistant for when the
Panthers up here? For all the podcasts and interviews you're
gonna have to do because you covered that team and
this too.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
I usually have so much I can't even keep up
with it. So yeah, I might have to get get
an intern or something to help me out keeps check them.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Hey, but we still got a visit with you.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
Look, with AI, you can do anything.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
Now, you can be in five different places potentially with AI.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
Wait, we can create an AI Jonathan Alexander and just
talk to the AI Jonathan. Maybe all right, so we're
gonna make out there. We're gonna make a role.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
I don't want to do that, but if we're forced to.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
We're forced to, Jonathan, I.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
Keep the real one, the real one be talking to
you the AIE.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
I like that. I like good answer, good. Hey, what
do you have going out of the Chronicle for us?
Jonathan got a few stories.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
Obviously, we've been talking a lot about what we've seen
in camp. Today we dropped a story about who's standing out,
who's not standing out so much, And in the near
future we'll have a story on Sheldon Rankins and in
his journey back to the Houston Texans.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Beautiful Jonathan, thanks a lot for joining us. We appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
Thanks for having me.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
There's our visit with Jonathan Alexander from the Houston Chronicle
coming up. Plenty of stuff. Justin Watson wide receiver, Mike Toman,
team president, dari Goodbowally running back. You've heard of him.
It's all happening here on Texans Radio, back in the
Hunday Texans Radio studio. But we're gonna take it outside
after a practice. John Harris catching up with Texans running
back Swiss Army Knife, dari agunb Darry.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
First of all, just how you doing.
Speaker 7 (27:30):
I'm great, man, I'm great. It's a beautiful day. Been
a great start to the season. I'm feeling really good, man.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
Okay, coach has been talking you up a little bit.
What's been good? Does far and camp for you?
Speaker 7 (27:41):
Just you know, the team, you know, I think we
really have a good team. You know, things have been
looking very good for us. We're picking up the plays
really well. Defense is flying around, special teams have been
very violent, very physical. So it's been a great start
to camp. And personally, you know, I've been like I said,
body's feeling really great and things are a thing that
looking really good. So I'm happy with We'll brat right now.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
So you've learned new offenses throughout your time in the NFL.
Is there a secret to it that you kind of
share with the young guys, like, Hey, this is one
of the things that I do. I do index cards
or I you know, I'm just in my playbook.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
What is it that kind of helps you learn a
new system?
Speaker 7 (28:17):
Well, I mean index card is is a tip, but
I mean it's just really taking the time, bro. I mean,
however you learn best, I mean that's you, but you
just got to take the time to do it. It's
not it's not just gonna happen You're not just gonna
pick it up in meetings. It's just extra time that
you have to put into I guess mastering the actual
x's and o's. Obviously, on the field you'll get the reps.
You'll get the reps, you'll get the physicality and all
(28:39):
that stuff.
Speaker 6 (28:40):
But it actually takes like time.
Speaker 7 (28:42):
It takes real time to pick up plays, pick up playbooks,
pick up systems.
Speaker 6 (28:46):
And I've been able to do that throughout my career.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
So training camps, you've been through a lot of ben
and Jacksonville, You've been in Tampa, You've been through some
hot ones.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
It's hot here.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
What's kind of the biggest key of getting through training camp?
Speaker 1 (28:56):
Not only healthy, but.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Just in a good positive mindset, prepperration for each practice.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
You know what I'm saying, every practice.
Speaker 7 (29:02):
I mean it's not a game per se, but I
mean you got to go into it with that mindset.
Speaker 6 (29:06):
Your routine has to be the same every day, and.
Speaker 7 (29:09):
Like I said, just being prepared to get out on
the field every day, your body mentally, all that it's
every day has to you have to attack it. And
that's what I've been able to do. Being in Houston
is no joke. You know, this heat is real and
you see it time and time again. Guys kind of
kind of fall victim to it. But like I said,
I've been able to take take care of my body,
(29:30):
take care of my mind so that when I'm out
in the field, I.
Speaker 6 (29:32):
Can just worry about playing ball.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
On the same note, we will go to West Virginia,
and I know your rookie year, we went to West Virginia.
That's a whole different ball game.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Is it not.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
How important is it to get up there a from
a weather standpoint, takes some of the heat off you,
but be also have the camaraderie being.
Speaker 6 (29:47):
Together for a week exactly.
Speaker 7 (29:49):
I mean, it's not much to do out there away
from ball, so it's a chance for the whole.
Speaker 6 (29:54):
Team to just kind.
Speaker 7 (29:55):
Of be all about the team, all about football and
like you said, get out of this heat a little bit,
and so you could just really focus on playing not
not the extra stuff that comes to playing ball in Houston.
So it's gonna be fun, you know, it's definitely gonna
be fun. I'm sure coach is gonna be able to
give us some activities and stuff to do as a team.
But like I said, being able to just play fast
and physical without having to worry about the heat. Is
(30:15):
that it's gonna be an advantage for us, Darry.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
What's it like to have your family here after practice?
That long, hard practice hot? Everybody's tired, You're tired. You're
seeing the same guys, the same guys in the media room,
and then you see your family after practice.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
What's that like?
Speaker 6 (30:29):
Nah, it's just crazy, bro, It's a dream come true.
Speaker 7 (30:31):
Man's just being able to, like you said, go through it,
go through these tough days and then be able to
look in the stands or look on the field after
practicing and see my girl and see my daughter.
Speaker 6 (30:40):
Man, it's a blessing, bro.
Speaker 7 (30:42):
Some that you won't forget something that hopefully they don't forget.
And like I said, it makes it all worth It
makes you remember why you're doing it. Man.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
Okay, I can't remember who was We were talking to
you the other day and they said, there are now
rooms inside the building where some UNO is taking place.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Are you a part of the UNO gang that.
Speaker 6 (31:01):
I am? I am at this camp.
Speaker 7 (31:03):
I have zero wins so far, which is terrible. I
usually in one of the guys on a leaderboard for
the wins.
Speaker 6 (31:10):
This camp.
Speaker 7 (31:10):
No wins for me so far, but you know it's
it's early still, I got time get by.
Speaker 6 (31:15):
But yeah, I gotta pick it up.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Yeah, you definitely have to pick this up.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
I'm a little I'm a little disappointed. I'm not disappointed
anything you do at any point, but telling me that
you gotta get you gotta get going.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
You gotta get it going. Cali gofs.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
You gotta get it going, and once you do, you
start rolling.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Dara Goomble, you're absolute best man.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Appreciate your time, you say, your brother, thank you.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Johnny's visit with Dara. Now, let's visit with the president
of your Texans Mike Toman. He's been here for a
half year now. How are things going?
Speaker 8 (31:42):
The excitement is here, summer is over and football is here,
and you could not be more excited.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
I mean, look at this crowd.
Speaker 8 (31:48):
It's uh with the guys walking out, it's pretty intense.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Mike.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
How do you I mean just being here, this is
the first time seeing training, this training camp, seeing the
fans excitement. What's it like for you just to first
time being able to see it? Is it kind of
mind blowing in a sense? Is it like, Yeah, this
is what I expected. What's that kind of been like
the first reaction to see it?
Speaker 8 (32:06):
You know, that's a great question, John, because it's one
of those things where since I've been here, you could
feel the energy, you could feel the energy inside the building,
you could feel the energy talking to Nick and coach
and then having the opportunity to see it all.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
Come together in one place.
Speaker 8 (32:23):
So it's like one of those where you were expecting
it because you could feel the energy, but nothing, nothing
can take the place actually being here and seeing it.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Well, we have a lot of listeners, Mike who here
that you're the president of the Texans, So let's get
into the areas of emphasis for you because you work
closely with Nick and Tamiko the entire organization. But how
does all that fit in with the McNair's and everything.
What can you tell the listeners about that your role?
Speaker 4 (32:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (32:48):
Absolutely, I mean I think one thing it is is
one team, and that's one of the things that was
really stressed upon with Callan Hannah when had a chance
to first for the opportunity to come in and so
I just I remember talking with Cal and saying, we
have all these great initiatives, certainly on the business side.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
We all have all these great.
Speaker 8 (33:09):
Moments ahead of us getting ready for the season.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
Where should we focus?
Speaker 8 (33:14):
And as cal went through, you know, he didn't hesitate.
He was like the people and the culture, and so
right out of the gates, that has.
Speaker 4 (33:22):
Been a big focus.
Speaker 8 (33:23):
Now we've been focusing in on making sure not only
that we have a great culture, but ultimately a world
class culture with world class expectations. And the methodology behind that,
you know, is to make sure that that translate, translates
into a world class experience for our fans. And so
that's where all my time has been spent.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
All right, Mike, you have experienced so playing football you
played in college. How how do you bring that into
this job? Your kind of experience playing a game back
in the day.
Speaker 8 (33:51):
You know, I think there's there's a bunch of levels
of it. One you just have such an appreciation for
what the team is doing and going through and the
level that they're doing. And I think the uniqueness is
that you can really sense how special it is because
when you've been into a bunch of different locker rooms,
you play at a different levels, you see a lot
of good things, but that's different than seeing something special
(34:12):
and so I think the energy from the McNair's on
down through the team, what we have here.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Is really really special.
Speaker 8 (34:19):
So John, I'd say like the past experience helps me
appreciate the actual moment itself.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
That's right, all right. So fans are here watching practice.
Soon enough they'll be inside NRG Stadium watching games. And
I know there have been some changes video board. What
can you tell us about the experience inside the stadium
how it's going to be different this year.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
I think it'll be significant.
Speaker 8 (34:39):
I really think when our fans walk in, it'll be palatable,
like they'll be like, gosh, what is different? And I'll
point out a couple of the pieces, certainly the sound system.
You know, when we get in there, it is a different,
different deal.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
It will absolutely.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
I'm talking at our studio the other day, I'm like,
what is going on?
Speaker 3 (34:57):
I had no idea and I walked in near the walls, like,
oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
I know it's like is that a concert right now?
Is that live?
Speaker 1 (35:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (35:04):
It will be.
Speaker 8 (35:05):
I think that'll be one of the things that the
fans will pick up on and hopefully the opposing team
will pick up on right out of the gates. But
you hit it also, you know, we have we're updating
the roof, we have an updated video boards, so I
think the whole sensory portion of coming in has been amplified.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Well, I know that you're also working on other things
and many articles have been written about it, you've talked
about it. But what can you tell us about new
facility perhaps stadium upgrades over the next few years or
whenever that might take place. What can you share with
us about that, Mike?
Speaker 4 (35:41):
You know, on the stadium front, you know, we've had
a great summer.
Speaker 8 (35:44):
You know, we we've been working together with the county
and the Sports Corps and our great partners at the Rodeo,
and we've been making progress. We've been working through focused
in on a renovation in doing doing the appropriate studies
to make sure that we're looking at everything the right way.
And so we're running through those studies and we're looking
(36:06):
forward to to ultimately what the outputs are.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Mike, being on a team side alife, because you've done
so much in your career on the other side, but
now you're on a team side, what's the view like
on this side as supposed to be on the other side.
But also because you have that experience on the other
side bringing that to your job as well. What's that
kind of been like for you being on the team
side for the first time in a while.
Speaker 8 (36:27):
You know, nothing's better, you know, to be a part
of a true team and to be fully immersed in
it and understand this special situation on the Texans and
how close it is with the community, how it's a
part of the community. You don't get that from the
other side of the table, which was my former life
on really kind of.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
The agency third party service platforms. Now that brings a
unique side of it, you know.
Speaker 8 (36:53):
I think there's a deeper appreciation for how all the
different stakeholders can contribute to a great atmosphere for the fans,
And so I think that gives me the vantage point
to see how we can work closer and better with
our partners at the end of the day, to just
make sure you have the best experience on Sundays or
game days when everybody comes into.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
NRG or game days, because we have games all over
the place. Mondays, got Thursdays, and that's the price you pay.
Is a good team the price you pay. But it's
a wonderful place, depend.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
Great, great indicator. Yeah, great indicator. When you're a good team,
you get some of the primetime spots.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
All right, So your rocket, the new tea, the new
T T shirt. Mike, what about this the te logo?
Because I see Cal mcder over there wearing it, Hannah
McNair wearing it. We've got it going on.
Speaker 8 (37:38):
Oh yeah, I mean Hannah's so fired up about the
tea right now.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
I think she just wanted I think I think it's something.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
I think it was directed at me.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
I was trying to cover for you there.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
That's right, she's been.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
That's been about a twenty four hour thing that I've
been like, oh my gosh.
Speaker 8 (37:57):
But you know, we're really excited about the tea. You know,
we have such a unique brand. We have such a
good team that focuses in on our brand and how
do we express it out to the market, And you know,
the tea is a fun way to do that.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
I know that was a Cal favorite as well.
Speaker 8 (38:13):
I do want to state and I think everyone wants
to the EAH is going nowhere, the H is there,
but here here's another, you know, way to get closer
to the brand.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
And have fun with it.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Yeah, the T's not going to be at a helmet
for cos, but it will be on some other things
and that's pretty cool. And it looks great by the way.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
Okay, so okay, this is all great about all the
business ops stuff. R Okay, fine, you know football, What
do you see out on this field?
Speaker 1 (38:32):
What are you excited about this year on the field?
Speaker 4 (38:35):
You know, I'm excited on on the actual progress.
Speaker 8 (38:37):
I think Nick and coach have put together a great
team and as I said, there's there's something special about it,
and so they they've kind of put it on a
bunch of different levels and.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
It's great to see it all come together.
Speaker 8 (38:50):
The new guys that are out there competing, and certainly
we have we have our veterans out there. I mean,
the defense looks out they're they're almost you know, from
from my eyes, which you have to discount, do owt
about ninety percent, but from my eyes, you know, they
look like they're ready to roll. But it's been great
to see the guys competing out there.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
Mike Toman, president of the Texans with us, all right,
I want to get into this a little bit. You
went to Georgetown, now, Mike, I missed the old Big East. Okay,
I know we still have a Big East. The Requiem,
Yes exactly, that's ye for thirty was amazing, right, I mean,
the really old Big East is great, but it lasted
for a long time. And you know, I was with
the Hurricanes when we were in the Big East and
the rest of the Big East hated us like poison.
(39:30):
They just wanted us for the football part of it,
right when the Big East had football. But what about
those days? Because you played late nineties around two thousand
ish for Georgetown, you played football. What was it like
being part of that whole experience?
Speaker 4 (39:42):
It was great. It was a new program for us.
Speaker 8 (39:43):
We were new to Division one, Double A at that point,
and so you know, I think I think it was
It's special when you can kind of be a you know,
a band of brothers coming together to do something new,
and that was the experience it was, you know, like
sports in general, and why we feel so strongly about
making football accessible out to the market through flag football
(40:07):
and youth football and our commitments there, the point is
that it can be such a great experience, It can
be such a healthy experience for the individuals and the
team overall.
Speaker 4 (40:16):
And that's how I feel about it.
Speaker 8 (40:17):
I feel you know, I feel very fortunate to have
played on the hill top end. I actually was walking
down here and got a text from one of the guys.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
That I was playing with.
Speaker 8 (40:25):
Just because it's a band of brothers, you kind of
you have these experiences together that stay with you forever.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Wow, Mike, you mentioned it a little while ago. Flag football.
We've got some flag footballers over here. Flag football has
been a really big emphasis. We talked to with Hannah
and Cal about that yesterday.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
From your perspective, how big is that that push been
for flag football, not only in Houston but in the
state of Texas.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
You know, I think it'll be one of the biggest things.
Speaker 8 (40:48):
I think we'll look back at this moment and just
be like, Okay, this was the moment, because ultimately, if
you look at the growth, I mean, I think we
grew participation over five hundred percent on the girl's flag
last year, and that's just a great indicator. You know,
our focus is to make sure that the Texas is
the next state that sanctions.
Speaker 4 (41:06):
It at a high school level.
Speaker 8 (41:08):
But John, I keep going back to the more accessible
we can make football yes to everyone.
Speaker 4 (41:13):
And flag is one of the best ways to do that.
Speaker 8 (41:16):
Boys and girls at a youth level, it builds so
much character. It gives them such a skill set to
be successful later in life, whether they play football or not.
There are so many studies and case studies on that.
It's like one of those things where it just makes
sense to push everything behind.
Speaker 1 (41:33):
Absolutely all right, I'm going to ask you this every
time we talk, because a month or two goes by,
So Houston, State of the Union. You and Houston right now,
because that's obviously you've been here before, but you've been
here about six months or so plus, and every month
that goes by, it's more getting acquainted with this city.
So your impressions as we speak, as.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
We speak to yes, yes today, I mean it's the best.
Speaker 8 (41:58):
You know, My family's loving. My wife and I were
just talking the other day. We're like, you know, there's
something so unique about Houston. It just feels homie. And
what makes that so unique is the size of it.
You know, you talk about the fourth to the third
largest city in the United States and for it to
feel homie, that was the word we kept using. I
(42:20):
think it's one of the biggest compliments I can give it.
You know, we couldn't be.
Speaker 4 (42:24):
More excited to be a part of Houston.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Mike, thanks so much for joining us. We appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Always great seeing you guys.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
Great to catch up with Texans, prays Mike Toeman. Now
Justin Watson in the on deck circle. He'll finish us
off here tonight on Texans All Access. Final set of
reps tonight on Texans Radio. Mark VanderMeer with you, and
let's get to Justin Watson. Receiver that the Texans got
from the Kansas City Chiefs and free agency. He's got
(42:52):
some rings Chiefs Tampa. He's been around the block, played
at Penn. Johnny likes him because he's an Ivy leaguer
among other things. He's a good player and he's got
a factor into this mix. It's gonna be a real
tough cut at receiver, as we've discussed many many times.
And at a chance to visit with Justin Watson after practice.
We're talking a little bit with Texans team president Mike Tolmant.
(43:12):
Before this interview, you said you don't think the heat's
that bad relatively.
Speaker 9 (43:17):
Well, like you said, I know what it can be here.
I think we've been getting lucky so far. And like
I said, Hey, we're standing up right. We're doing a
great job. So no complaints.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
How is it in Kansas City because that can get
hot too, It.
Speaker 9 (43:27):
Can get hot, but nothing's like Houston. But this has
just been really cool. Just the energy of these last
three days with the pads on. The fans have been
bringing it. So if this is what it looks like
at training camp, I can't wait to see what energy
looks like.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
As you've progressed through your career, you must do a
lot of extra stuff to get ready for camp, just
to get ready for games in general.
Speaker 9 (43:45):
Yeah, I think the longer you stay in this business,
you know what you need. So each day after practice,
if there's a rep that I didn't get a throw
on or something, and I saw another receiver run, I thought, hey, man,
that's a good route I could work on that. I'm
pulling one of the young quarterbacks and kind of teaching
him at the same time sharpen than myself.
Speaker 1 (44:01):
What about the development of this offense, I know it's
a bit of a work in progress. What are you
seeing justin I've just seen it improving each day.
Speaker 9 (44:08):
We just keep finding new answers through each install that
we put in. Obviously, It's a great challenge going against
maybe the best defense in the NFL that's been together
for a long time.
Speaker 4 (44:17):
They have all their calls in.
Speaker 9 (44:19):
So, like I said, for us, having some success with
how early on we are in our install process has
been exciting to see.
Speaker 1 (44:25):
What's it going to be like for you and the
team to go to the Greenbrier next week.
Speaker 9 (44:29):
It is gonna be a breadth the fresh air, literally,
you know, just we already heard him in one day
with a high s seventy seven or something. So, you know,
just looking forward to getting away and join some time
with the team, join some good weather, and you know,
and still practicing.
Speaker 1 (44:42):
Hard preseason games on the horizon. As a veteran, how
do you approach those?
Speaker 9 (44:47):
Yeah, you know, just like any other week, Just like
any other game. It's a chance just to get all
your processes going. You know what time do I have
to start getting ready pregame? You know what am I
eating before the game? Everything leading up to the game,
and then obviously gonna play you know, some portion of
the game.
Speaker 4 (45:01):
That's football.
Speaker 1 (45:02):
That's the easy part.
Speaker 9 (45:03):
But I think it's just you know, getting your cadence
for prepping yourself.
Speaker 4 (45:08):
So that week one you're ready.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
Hit the ground roll and want to know you set
so many records at Penn are you still aware of them?
Do you watch the Quakers play or their progress online
or however you can do that.
Speaker 9 (45:18):
I do watch them play, and you know, I always say,
I mean, I hope the next guy breaks it, but
you know whatever, in week nine, Week ten comes and
there's a receiver that's pretty close to some of my
single season stuff. You know, I'm hoping for the win
more than I'm hoping for the record to get broken.
Speaker 1 (45:32):
How many people mistakenly think you went to Penn State.
Speaker 6 (45:36):
All the time.
Speaker 9 (45:36):
We used to have shirts that said not Penn State
right on them, even in the city of Philadelphia.
Speaker 4 (45:40):
But man, that's great.
Speaker 9 (45:41):
Those who know about, you know, the great University Pennsylvania
and the Morton School business, they know.
Speaker 1 (45:45):
I'm in the group that thinks the Palestro is the
most underrated building for college basketball.
Speaker 4 (45:50):
Your thoughts.
Speaker 9 (45:51):
I've seen some great games in there, you know, I
Villanova's come through. It's just it's a neat piece of history.
I was blessed in college. That's where we played our
pickup basketball games. So just to play, you know, in
one of the Monuments of Basketball was really neat in college.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Nice. Justin, thanks for joining us, good luck, thanks so much.
All right, there's Justin Watson. Now we've got some announcements.
It's like the end of church announcements here they are. Okay,
we're back on the field eight to ten am tomorrow.
John McClain will join us, and dclue is gonna be
out there. It's going to be fun. And Sean and
Seth will be there at eight and you'll also have
in the loop there at ten. So a regular practice day,
(46:28):
nothing regular about it. These are really fun this time
of years. We ramp up toward preseason game number one,
and it's going to be a week from Saturday, three
o'clock at Minnesota Live on ABC thirteen and right here
where you are listening the Texans Radio Network all around
the state, and of course here in Houston on Sports
Radio six ten and the Bowl one hundred point three FM.
Our training Camp special Sunday night at eleven on EBC thirteen.
(46:50):
Saturday night at eleven, it's Texans Playbook Flag Football Special replay.
There got a lot going on here, folks in Houston,
Texans dot com for all the info on your Texans
tickets season premiere coming up. Whole bunch of fun stuff,
so check it all out and check out the merch
at the Texans team shop online or wherever wherever meaning
(47:11):
at the stadium or at training camp as well. If
you're lucky enough to be going, all right, that's gonna
do it for the show, Area forty five is coming up.
They'll talk about everything in the world of sports, including
and especially your Houston Texans. Thank you very much, have
a great night, Go Texans.
