Speaker 4 (00:38):
Happy Thanksgiving, gentlemen.

Speaker 5 (00:40):
BA humbug, Happy Thanksgiving, bart Ea good to get. It's good,
good time of the year right here, man, Football and
family and food. I mean it's good stuff.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Man, you said it right.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
So what do you guys have to have as far
as food is concerned on Thanksgiving?

Speaker 5 (00:55):
I mean I I meet as much bird as I
can get bird stuff and gravy cran bear. Are you
just like I can eat all that and pumpkin pie?
I mean I could go two, three, four helpings for
that stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I mean you start off with your main meal, but
then you pretty much snack for the rest of the night.
I mean, give me gravy, safte, sausage dressing. I can
go with the bird long as I got a good gravy.
Every once in a while I can go with some
some Hawaiian rolls. I mean to be a sup up
that gravy, you know what I'm saying. Got it, cook
it in the oven, put butter on top of it.
Get a nice little crisp little top on it, so
I got a little crunch. And then for me, it's

(01:28):
the banana putting peach cobbler, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
And uh, sweet potato pie.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
I'm calling an audible with the line of scrimmage, I'm
going with steak this year.

Speaker 5 (01:37):
Way oh yeah, way.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Well okay, why don't you just go prime rip maybe
a little flet ah okay, hey uh.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Also, let's talk about Baldy's wardrobes since he's joining US.
Styling profile pfile Roger Gudal would have proven that one
that's the Letterman jacket the NFL.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
Yeah, I'm telling you, this thing is the most comfortable thing.
Like it's so lightweight and like it's almost like sweater,
but it just has the right look to it. Man,
I'm not taking it off until probably Super Bowl Sunday.
I'm gonna wear it.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Ever you get We can't.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
We can't get that. We can't get that swack to Rogers.
We gotta get that to Pete Roselle. You know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
That's old school right there, the old You know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
No doubt about that. Okay, guys, let's talk to Jets.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
What do Jets fans have to be thankful for at
this point of the year.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Part, Well, for me, it's the the beginning of what
like the puzzles starting to come together, right. I feel
like they started, you know, putting the corners to the
puzzle together, and now they're starting to feel the inside out.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Right.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
You saw what what Mechi can do for this team.
He can kind of be in that Ross Ain't Brown
type of mode. He's a great slot receiver, he can
run the over routes. And then also you talk about
ian I Mitchell right providing some some some deep help.
And these are all things that are like you're thankful
for because they came out of nowhere, right, These are
unexpected things, and those are the things that you enjoy

(02:56):
the most, things that are unexpected, because you're appreciating better
when you buy something, you find something, or are you
planning to get something. You like it, but you know
it was a necessity, right, This was something that was
an extra add on a bonus.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
I'll I'll go to the other side of the ball, Bart,
I'll take Juwan Briggs, I'll take Harrison Phillips. I feel like,
you know, the interior with with you know, Jamien and
along with Quincy. I feel like the interior of this
defense and to a degree, the rookie safety Malachai, Like,
I feel like they're starting to build this thing the
right way from the inside out. And it's interesting to me, Bart,

(03:35):
because we could talk about the loss of Sauce or Quinn.
They're they're very good players in their own right, and
they're playing well in the respective new homes. But to me,
defense Bart isn't about great players. It's about how they
played together correct. And I felt like for those first
thirty minutes that team, that defense played really well together,

(03:56):
and they played as one unit and you know, whether
they were supposed to be in this gap or make
this tackle, like, they curtailed a really good offense with
a lot of star power, and I thought that was encouraging.
If we're looking to the future here.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Is it just me.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
But what probably is But with this accumulation of the
fatties that they got, right I forgot the fat boy
they got last week, it feels to me that this
team will be better served maybe in the future move
it to a three four team.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
I mean, we talk about the big fatties.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
If you can go out and get you a great
like five technique, a guy that can shoot the gap penetrate,
and now you're impenetrable, and now you can keep just
two middle linebackers in the inside and be stout against
a run where you talk about like Sherwood and Quincy
and be able to have a nice five technique that
can shoot off and shoot the gaps because now you've
got two space eaters and they're gonna eat two double

(04:47):
teams though, so you're gonna get one on ones if
you go to a three four team on the outside
with with Sherwood and Will McDonald and there and there,
they're they they're athletic enough to be able to get
back and drop it, to to hook currow, to curl
flats and things, and that sorts much like we were
when we were here. You know, they're just taking the
place of Brian Thomas and Calvin pace Baldy.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
Why is it clicking defensively right now?

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Because you just mentioned the Jets traded Perhaps they're two
most talented players on that.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Side of the ball.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Quinn Williams and saus Gardner and a lot of people
were wondering, Hey, what is this actually gonna look like?

Speaker 4 (05:23):
And we saw them against the Patriots.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Patriots said, I believe twenty seven carries sixty five yards.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
And then you're talking about the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
I know Lamar Jackson has been hobbled, but two hundred
and forty one yards four point two yards per play,
two to eleven on third down.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
I mean, what's clicking?

Speaker 5 (05:39):
Well, Well, a couple of things. First of all, every
defense and Bart you know, can like chime in here,
but I mean every defense, I don't care if it's
a three four, four to three, I don't I don't care.
Every defense is a gap defense. And you watch, if
you're going to stop Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and the
beast that those two guys are, you better be in
your gap to start with. Now, they're great individual talents.

(06:03):
You know, Patrick Riccard can get a great block at
the point, and and Derrek Henry ripped went off. That's
gonna happen. But I feel like the communication and you
can see it pre snapped, the communication is excellent. Uh,
they're coming downhill like, uh, you know, Rex used to
say Bart when I when I was hanging around down
there in Baltimore, like you you back up, you give

(06:25):
it up, you step up, you clean it up. I
felt like guys were stepping up and cleaning it up
and not giving runways to Lamar and too to Derrick Henry.
Last week, I thought they tackled gain tackle, you know,
just not one guy going to Derek's. I felt like
it was like rat a tat tat tat. There was
a lot of a lot of hell hats to the
ball EA and it was like really encouraging to watch

(06:47):
short yardage. It didn't matter if they were in the
middle of the field short yardage. They they were where
they were supposed to be. And that's uh, that's one
sign that the communication has been really, really good.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Man.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
I thought that's an interesting point that Baldi just made.
Part that I want you to touch upon is that
he said playing elite defense is not necessarily about having
great players, it's playing together as a unit.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
I mean, you talk about selfless football, right, everybody understanding
first of all, you have to know your role. Second ball,
you have to embrace your role. And then two you
have to be selfless. And I think you have all that,
especially when it starts with il Harrison, Phillips and Briggs
and the inside you know, holding the jump through to
get to the linebackers. I think now that you have
guys that you know, not that Quinn was this because

(07:34):
he was dynamic against the run too, but you know,
these guys are much bigger, so they're just naturally space eaters.
You know, you just don't run by them, even when
you try and bump them and chip up to the
second level. You know they're they're much bigger guys. And
that this is allowing that the linebackers. This is one
of the strengths of that defense to kind of fast
flow and not really you know, have to handle the
physicality of taking on guards and walking off, you know,

(07:56):
being able to you know, disengage from blocks and stuff
like that. So I think now everybody understands their roles
and you know, now we just have to see the
guys on the outside be able to kind of to
flourish a little bit more.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
I thought, you know, they could have get left a
little more.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Well, can you speak to what Darren Mougi has done
to this roster post training camp, because you're talking about
Burne and.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
I were just discussing this before.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Twenty two percent of this roster right now was acquired
after training camp, and they include the guys you are
talking about. You both are talking about Matchie and Mitchell,
and then the other side of the ball, Brownley and
Harrison Phillips and then Juwan Briggs.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
I mean, all these guys after training camp.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
Well, a couple things. A couple of things. First of all,
just all the guys you just mentioned, Like, I don't
feel like these guys are rentals. I feel like Brownlee
is going to be part of this roster. He's a
good football player. He can play a variety of roles,
and that's just one example. But I feel like the
guys they brought in aren't rentals the way they are
and some teams that are trying to compete like this

(09:01):
is part of the core. And then it kind of
says a lot about training camp, like you can scrimmage
and you could play these games, you don't really find
out a lot about players until you get out there
in the games and start playing all the penalties they
were committing early on a year, there's still too many
defensive penalties giving up you know, pass interference calls where
you're just panicking with the ball in the air. But

(09:22):
I feel like they've identified the type of player that
they want and they've brought those guys in. And I
just think good organizations. I mean the Eagles are prime example,
Like you never sit tight, you're always looking to upgrade
the roster, and they've made a lot of moves. Some
of them you know, are for the future. But I think,
you know, in the Sauce Gardener trade, like to get

(09:44):
a d Mitchell and to get you know, a half
a season, look at him at wide receiver to see
if he can be a guy that can be number
two to Garrett or one A or one B whatever,
Like I think those are value picks. And I thought
there was a solid job of scouting and really understanding
like who some of these guys are and how they
could fit in.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Bart How beneficial is it to have a guy like
Phillips not only what he brings on the field, but
in terms of his leadership.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
We're talking about this before.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
As well, that he said that earlier this week that hey,
you may have beat me yesterday, you may beat me today. Hell,
you may beat me tomorrow, but at the end, I'm
gonna be the one on top.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
It's like a quote from inside of the mystical Snapple Top.
You know, you flip that thing over, but listen for me,
Like he reminds me of or he's our version of
Mike DeVito, or he's the raven version when I was
there of Kelly crag Right. He's a guy that's really selfless,
that gets more joy out of his teammates being successful

(10:52):
than he is out of hisself right. And you know
that's always say defensive linemen are special people because they
don't get the glory, they don't get the statistics, you know,
but you know you can't win without them. You know,
you can't win without them sacrificing themselves like like pieces
on the chessboard for you to be able to run
and get to get get all the glory, get all
the tackles, get the statistics. But he's one of those guys,

(11:14):
you know, these unsung hero type of guys that's going
to do their job at a high level, and that
inspires you.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
To do their job at a high level, your job
at a high level.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Baldy, the Jets are two and nine and Harrison Phillips
is playing banged up. I mean, you see him after
the games. He's got a boot on his foot and
he's going out there and producing and showing his teammates.
He doesn't even have to say anything. He's showing his
teammates what it means to him in Briggs. This might
be a real fine for the Jets, though. What are

(11:41):
you seeing from him physically? For are stopping to run
and also pass rushing?

Speaker 3 (11:46):
You go bark, yeah, I mean I like him. He's
real bouncing.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
I've always said that he's a shorter guy, but he's
real bouncy, got a lot of wiggle to him. You know,
he's active, and you know he plays with high intensity,
high effort, and you always want guys like that on
your team, Guys with tremendous motors.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
And he's one of those guys.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
And you know, I think that, you know, when you
talk about Briggs, you talk to not so much Phillips,
because I think people respect Phillips, and Phillips had a name.
But guys like Briggs, guys like Ai Mitchell, guys like Mechi. Right,
these are guys who have just been waiting for an opportunity.
It's not that they're not good football players. They just
found themselves in between the rock and a hard place.
And they come here with the Jets and they're like, hey,

(12:22):
these people, I'm a leading man here. I'm a guy
that they value. I'm a guy that they need. And
it feels good to be wanted, right, And when you
think about they were just a luxury where they were right,
you know, Mechi was was a luxury sitting there behind
you know, Dotson and Brown and Goddard and Saquon.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
When do I get to eat? Right?

Speaker 2 (12:43):
So he gets the scraps right, and you think about
you think about Ad. Yeah, I know I don't like Ad,
so I I Mitchell. Yeah, at Mitchell, ad Mitchell. Same thing.
He's sitting behind Peers, He's sitting behind Downs, he's sitting
behind Pittman. Now Tywarn comes in and Jonathan Tailor's doing
his thing like yo, I want to eat.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
I'm good. I can make things happen too.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
So now he gets an opportunity, and I think they're
taking advantage of their opportunity. I love the route concepts
by Extra in last week and all the things they
were doing, the sell routes, you know, guys playing a road,
running guys off you know, Mitchell coming underneath pretty much
making sell routes all the time. Different concepts will getting
there when you got levels there, And I thought ty
Robb was a perfect compliment because he hit him in

(13:25):
rhythm and timey and now I could really evaluate what
these guys are because you know that you have a
quarterback that's getting the ball out on time and then
rhythm and the offense. I'm excited to see what as
how he can continue to coordinate because I think he can.
He's got access with Tyrod behind the center to the
entire play Balldy.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
These guys love Machi. They say he's the first guy
in the building every morning. He's catching you know, from
the jugs, and that you got the veteran quarterback that
Bart has talked about now to Rod has sought these
guys out MATCHI and Mitchell and said, hey, I know
you guys just got in the building. Help you with
the playbook and we're going to discuss what I'm looking
at what I see and also the way you're going

(14:05):
to be running your routs.

Speaker 5 (14:07):
Well you have to look at like Mechi, what happened
to him at Alabama, you know, with the knee injury
and missing a year and never really catching on in
Houston and coming to the Eagles and never getting a chance.
To Bart's point, you can't evaluate any of these players
until they play. I mean, Mechi gets a real chance
to play on Sunday, he catches six balls, he catches
the touchdown. You know, he was open throughout the time,

(14:31):
and he knew how to get open.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
And so.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
All players want to build a resume. They all want
to put their stats on the page and put their
you know, their stamp on their ability like that. You know,
some guys come in through the front door. Some guys
got to go through the back door, and they got
to climb, you know. And I feel like Mechi's maybe
one of those guys, and maybe he has a chance
to flourish here. We see it all the time. We
see it all the time with guys, you know, they

(14:57):
just get a chance. Briggs, I feel like the way
he escaped for he's at the end of that pass
rush for his third sack this year, Like that's that's
a good escape at the end, to get and to
get Lamar down. You know, you put that feather in
your cap. And so I like, I like seeing guys
that look hungry because they're taking advantage of the opportunity
and they know that they haven't gotten that in other places,

(15:21):
you know, and so never know what a guy can
do until they get a chance to actually go out
there and really play, not just mop up duty or
not just you know, because you're in there this week
because this guy's hurt, Like you're getting a real legitimate
chance to grow week to week to week right now.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Yeah, Bart Harrison was telling me the other day that
Brigg's got really high football IQ. So they're able to
operate pre snap and discuss Okay, this is the way
we're gonna rush, this is the way we're gonna team,
and this is where the ball might be going and
things like that. So that's very encouraging. Let's go back
to Mitchell for a second. As far as his routes,

(15:58):
we know over simpleifications, dude is fast, but what are
you seeing from him as a route runner? Because he's
turned people around, he's got people on skates right now.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
Mitchell, Well, he's separated from Woodsia on that. You know
that in cut that he ran. And what I liked
about the incut was a was sharp, but he came
back to the ball to catch it. That tells me.
I see so many guys just drift when they make
that cut, you know, and they drift right in the coverage,
like he ran away from the coverage, like he has
an idea. You know, he comes from a top flight

(16:31):
program that develops wide receivers at University of Texas.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
There.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
I mean, all these guys have flourished and so you
would think that he's been trained the right way. He's
played at the highest level in college and so you
see some of that. I mean, you know, if to
Rod could have you know, gotten that ball down the
field and mean he could run right by people, you know,
on go routes, and that's such a big part of
whether you throw that ball to him or not. It
opens up windows on like Bart's point, to the sail

(16:57):
routes and everything else when you can clear out like.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
That part a lot of skill position telling.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Here you're talking about these guys are all under twenty five,
and they're all under contract next year, whether that be
Matchie Mitchell. Of course at the top of that depth
chartist Garrett Wilson, You've had a really solid rookie season
from Mason Taylor. Of course Breese Hall will have to
see what happens with him. I don't want to talk

(17:23):
contract stuff, but I will say that he's having his
best professional year in this offense.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Yeah, I mean, I think you have to consider Breese
as part of the corps right and the fact that
they wouldn't give him up for a third round draft
pick means that he is probably in the consideration for
the future. I think, no matter you have a young quarterback,
a veteran quarterback, any type of quarterback, the perfect compliment
is a dual threat, you know, running back. I think
we're going to see that on the other side of

(17:49):
the ball. When we see the a lot of Falcons
this week, you see you're going to see a guy
that can help their quarterback out of any situation.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
You saw Breese another example. I know he had to fumble,
but you saw.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
The the easy dump off pass to check down goals
there and he makes something special happen.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
You know, that's that's high you know.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Low risk high reward type stuff there, like the Jets
and what they did with being able to uh with
the trades to get all the draft you know, equity.
Like I think next year, if they go out for
one of these high, high end receivers and they added
to that room, and that high end receiver gets in

(18:26):
the competitive room with Mitchell, with Metchi, with Brief, I mean,
with Breese, with with Garrett, I mean, that's just gonna
raise their level even faster because now you got young
talented guys that's ready that you're ready to compete with
to keep up with. And I mean in short order, man,
with with the ability to hit free agency and ability
to hit the draft, the Jets can have arguably, in

(18:48):
my opinion, one of the top offenses in the league
in a short order because they're not missing much. That
offensive line opens the door for a lot of stuff.
And you know, I think with with on the other side,
you have when you have Mason, I mean, I would
love to see them bringing a veteran tight end that
he can learn from too. I mean, man, it's so

(19:09):
many possibilities. And I think that's what the Jets did
when they made those trades. They gave themselves options in
the future to build the team the way that Aaron
Glenn and moves he decides to build it.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Yep, let's take a quick break and then we're gonna
dive into Jets Falcons Sunday at matt Life Stadium. Jets

(20:03):
how about this for dessert? You have Bristol ninth in
the National Football League yards from scrimmage. You got Bijon
Robinson third in the league in terms of yards from scrimmage.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
These backs are gonna be fun to watch on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
Yeah, and the guy, the change of pace back you
know in Atlanta, Tyler Ausier is a very talented player.
So it's a one two combination. That's what they do best.
Kirk Cousins is the quarterback now with Pennix out, and
he doesn't have the arm that he once had, so
they're gonna lean heavy. And Bijon is a guy that
can line up at receiver. He catch the ball in
the backfield. He's a home run hitter, He's all those things.

(20:41):
And it's a disappointing season to this point. You know,
for the Falcons, they were expected to have a much
better record.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
At this point.

Speaker 5 (20:48):
I saw, you know, Bryce Young throw for four hundred
and fifty two yards against some two weeks ago, and
we saw what Bryce Young looked like last night against
San Francisco. I mean, they just broke down. But you know,
Bijon is a guy that you have to build your
game plan around to stop. Right now, Kirk Cousins isn't
gonna go anywhere. You keep it in the pocket. But
Vjeon is a guy that they'll find as many different

(21:10):
ways to get him the ball because he's he's their
number one playmaker. Drake Drake London, Don't get me wrong,
He's their go to guy in the passing game. But Bijeon,
you gotta, you gotta really, folks, it's a good offensive line. Uh,
they've got pro bowlers up there. Linstrom has been a
Pro Bowler at right guard there. They're a solid group
up front. But that's uh, you know, they've got to
work cut out for him with Jon.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
A couple of key points here, Bart Drake London might
be out of the lineup for a second consecutive game.
We're taping on Tuesday. We'll to see what happens. But Bijeon,
you played linebacker at a high level in this league.
You guys talk about team defense. He's gonna get his
yards at time. How do you make sure he doesn't
ruin the game.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
You can't let allow him to circle the defense right,
and you saw last week against the saintsy circle to defense, press,
press hard to the right side of the line, and
they got the Donald blocks. And then he has ability
like Sakuon Barkley spoke, he's the best cutting back in
all of football. He gives you a little bit of
Reggie Bush as far as his his catching ability, his

(22:09):
route running, but he also gives you that smoothness and
power of LT right, his ability to cut, change the
direction running between the tackles. He's bigger than you think,
and he's a natural ball catcher. Right, you look at
the little right. The flavor of the month this year
is like the one man screen where they bubble like
a receiver route or a tight end out and they

(22:29):
throw a swing pass. And that's like the lead blocker
man the Mario Davis doesn't clap his his ankle. I
mean he's taken off for a seventy yard touchdown. You
saw it last week with Shadur Sander. Same type of concept.
What teams are doing is putting their athletes in space
and forcing your guys to make really really difficult tackles.
And if one guy isn't on his game plan, then

(22:52):
those can be home run balls.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
Baldy.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Interesting game from Cousins last week. Gave the pair of
touchdown passes. He also threw a pick six and he
was sacked three times.

Speaker 5 (23:04):
Yeah, I mean, look, I mean I saw Kirk Cousins
last year like he was just hanging on like he
you know, that arm is not the same. He can't
drive the ball the way he once did. I think
he can still make good decisions with the ball, you know,
I think he still sees coverages and knows where to go.
I just don't think he can actually get the ball there.
I mean, it's just wear and tear over how many

(23:24):
years it's been for Kirk now. But but that's that's
what they have. That's what they have to live with.
Those things. They had to live with it last year.
That's why they went to Penix late in the year
last year because he just you know, he wasn't helping
him win games. And so there's he's gonna put up
a couple of grabs, you know, and you know, you
just got to you know, they don't have an interception
this season, and so it's about time, about time somebody

(23:48):
comes down with one. He's gonna overthrow, somebody throw up
behind him. It's gonna get tipped. Like he's about time
the Jets come down with an interception in a game.
They can't go twelve games without getting an interception. You
get that by accident. Like if I'm studying Kirk Cousins,
I'm thinking, this is the week we're gonna get rid
of that goose egg in that column and get one
or two because he's gonna put him up for grabs.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Tips and overthrow has got to get those other side
of the ball to Rod Taylor gonna make a second
consecutive start for the Green and White, the veteran quarterback.
What you see in Baltimore and then bart As far
as moving forward, when you look at a Jeff Albrick
led defense, we're familiar with, not so much the personnel

(24:29):
here with the Jets, but what he likes to do well.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
This isn't your typical Atlanta Falcons defense. I think they
got some guys in Walker and Piers that can actually
get to the passer right. They have a little bit
of a pass rush. Now they have an elite you know,
corner on the outside. But this is also a team
that you can, you know you can.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
I don't know what it is about Bryce Young.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
I think Bryce Young averages like four hundred and fifty
yards of offense every time they see him.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
Like I just need to look at that tape.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
But I think you have to run the football right,
and I think you have to establish to run.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
It's set up to play action.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
I mean, I think this is a defense that can
be got, but you have to be disciplined and understanding.
You can't have any you know, unforced eras or unforced turnovers.
But you know this, this defense is not something that
you know, they faced a tougher defense, a more complex
defense last last week. I think there's the opportunity for
them to establish, to run and continued, you know, to

(25:24):
get chemistry with those wide receivers. I like to see
Mason involved a little bit more this week as well.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Pull the Statistically, Atlanta has struggled against the run, and
Bart talked about it before. Man Briese is such a
weapon in the past game and he had four receptions
for seventy plus yards last week. Uh, you get him
in an open field, man, it can be lights out.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
Yeah. I mean, I like the concept that they had
last week on the forty yard basically checked down screen.
When they run him through the line like that, guys
can kind of get lost a little bit.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (25:59):
It was a good concept by Tanner on that particular play.
But you know, they don't have the big hogs up
front on your mada like you could go through all
the guys doorless like they don't have like they this
Jets offensive line has a chance to really establish and
and really win in the trenches. The member has been
playing great, but I feel like this is a week

(26:20):
because I don't think you want to get in passing
situations with with Peers and Jalen Walker and some of
these guys and and even you know, with the blitz
concepts that you know that they have, Like I feel
like this is a game where you can really win
on the ground and you can really have some ball
control and uh, and this is not the Ravens where

(26:41):
they've got you know, some of the Travis Jones and
some of these big, huge guys up front that are
hard to move. Like I think this is, uh, you know,
a team that you can run the ball on. And
I think that Brees and Isaiah should have a good day,
like I expect, you know, one of those days that's
come out of nowhere a couple of times this year.
They run for one hundred and eighty two hundred yards,

(27:03):
and not just because the quarterback is scrambling. I think
they legitimately can put up a big number, you know,
with thirty plus runs on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Final thoughts here bart the Jets are playing a better
brand of football. The scores did not indicate that a
thirteen point loss in consecutive weeks here double digits to
the Patriots and then the Ravens. But I agree with
what Aaron Glenn has said that four or five plays go.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
The other way. We're winning those ballgames.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Well, you're not playing the Patriots this week, You're not
playing Baltimore this week, You're playing in Atlanta team that's
four and seven. And then next week you have Miami
come in to start December.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
They're four and seven.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
You go to Jacksonville, who's been a little bit up
and down. I know they're about five hundred right now,
but and then you go to New Orleans's two and nine,
and I know New Orleans is looking at you as
a get right game themselves. But my point on this is,
do you guys think that if the Jets continue to
take the strides that we're seeing right now, that we
saw in New England, that we saw in Baltimore, that

(28:06):
they can get some wins here?

Speaker 2 (28:08):
I mean, I believe that, you know, they should be
able to win some of these games. And I talk
about really what you're trying to build, this continuity and
consistency because you know, you had different, you know, starting quarterbacks.
As of right now, it seems like Tyrod is going
to be the song as he's healthy, he is going
to be the starting quarterback. So this allows you to
you know, get some chemistry off of each other, to

(28:30):
be able to talk about what happened last week and say, well,
you know last week when this happened, I prefer you
to do this, and you start seeing the game the
same way. Then you start having that non verbal communication
where you can not only read the words or understand
the words that's come from your teammates, but the body language,
the lean and all that stuff. Getting to know your receivers,
getting to know your running backs, getting comfortable with Tyrod's catence,

(28:51):
getting used to what seven step drop is for him
versus a five step drop, what that depth really is
as a tackle, so I can know how far I
have to block my guy before I started to try
and get him to turn the corner around the corner,
you know. So that's what I like. I like the
fact that this offensive line is played together. You know,
for the majority of the year hasn't been a lot
of injuries knock on wood, and the fact that they're

(29:12):
able to get that communication. So when you know, somebody shifts,
so if somebody does a lion stunt, you all see
it at the same time, the same way because you
don't have time to communicate it verbally. That's what I'm
excited about, and see if they can continue building a
brand of football that they want to play and they
can get some of this collective experience together.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
Real quick here. Yeah, I mean, look, if Breach doesn't
get the ball ripped out of his hands at the
goal line by Marlon Humphrey, it's a twenty seventeen game,
you know, with a lot of time left in the
fourth court. That's that. That's last week. But I would like,
you know, this is a holiday weekend. Whoever comes out
to Jet Life Stadium this weekend, and hopefully it's going
to be packed. I mean they're sitting there going, what

(29:51):
who are we? Like? They just want to see they
know what bad football looks like. They'd like to see
good looking football. A team that can run the ball,
team that can stop the run, a team that you know,
might be able to take the ball away, make a
couple of big plays with some of these new guys.
They're just looking for a reason to get excited, you know.
And so I You're you're at home this weekend, all right,

(30:11):
You've had these these games where you were close. It
was all that kind of stuff in the second half, Like,
go show these Jet fans a win on on Thanksgiving
weekend here, and I think you'll you'll hear a pretty good, uh,
you know, a pretty resounding faithful like give them a
nice little pat on the back. That'd be a good
that'd be a good feeling for these these kids of

(30:32):
the Jets.

Speaker 4 (30:33):
Well said, boys.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Uh, blessings to you guys in your respective families, and
we thank everybody who's been tuning in all year long.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
Here's the thing. Jets are ascending. It's happening.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
It's gonna take some time, but I mean as far
as the short term, you got some wins on the schedule.

Speaker 4 (30:53):
Hopefully it starts Sunday. Thanks boys,
