Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, everybody, Baldy and Bart coming up. We're gonna dive
into this Jets Bengals matchup. Bart joined us a little
bit late, but don't worry, he brought the juice. As
far as the Jets quarterback, we don't know who it's
gonna be this week. At Aaron Glenn was not ready
to reveal his starter for Sunday, but we're gonna dive
into everything right now. Regarding week eight coming up.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
We'll meet anybody in the world, and I think we're
gonna win next Sunday and it's.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Gets one. Can't wait.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Put your seat belt on and get ready for the ride.

Speaker 5 (00:42):

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Baldy, great to see how you doing, man.

Speaker 6 (01:03):
I'm good. Yeah, you know, like look this league, you know,
whether you win, you lose, you know upsets like this
league just marches on like this doesn't wait for no man,
And so I'm just you know, putting week seven behind me,
looking forward to week eight right now.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Hey, we're gonna get to the Jets in a second.
But where are you this upcoming weekend.

Speaker 6 (01:23):
I'm I'm writing Philadelphia. I'm doing the Giants and Eagles
rematch right here in Philadelphia. So, I mean, I got
a home game right here. I couldn't be happier. I
was working out yesterday at Lane Johnson's house, talking to Lane,
just kind of catching up with some of the things
around the league, Like he's he asked me questions about
the league, trying to figure out what's going on. So
everybody's kind of, you know, doing their thing. But yeah,

(01:45):
I got a home game here. I'm happy as heck.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Sunday in Cincinnati when this team faces the Bengals, if
he indeed chooses Tyrod Teller, what would your thoughts be?

Speaker 6 (01:58):
I would concur I just thought I thought, Tarad, you know, look,
I know, forget about the interceptions. I thought he gave
the team a chance, like they needed a touchdown the
other day. The defense can't play any better, and I
thought he gave the guys a chance to go get
the ball. They had a you know, a fleet flicker
where honestly, he you know, he's got the open receiver,
he kind of underthrows it. But it was a good call,

(02:20):
It was good play. You know, he just probably short
armed it a little bit. It was a touchdown waiting
to happen. Next play, they went right down the field
and I thought they attacked with Tarad you know, down
the field, and you know he gave the receivers a chance.
So it won't surprise me. I mean, just you know,
he's been he's been through this before so many different

(02:40):
times in different places and different teams. Like, I think
he can handle it right now. They and not not
because they said it was a spark. I mean, I
just think he gives him a better opportunity right now
to win games.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, And that's what Aaron Glennon said on Sunday after
the game after the Jets lost to the Panthers thirteen
to six. He said that I have to make a
decision where I feel like whoever I pick is going
to give us the best chance to win because the
Jets right now they feel awfully close, but on the
other end of the spectrum they feel far away.

Speaker 6 (03:16):
Oh that's true. I mean all that that's actually putting it,
you know, in a good context there ea, because you know,
two weeks a row now, they just needed to play.
They needed a field goal against Denver to win. They
needed a touchdown last week to really you know, make
it a real game. And you're a play short. But
at the same time, you're a long ways away. I mean,

(03:37):
the roster looks, you know, very incomplete at this time.
The offensive line has struggled at moments, and so you
know they they need something to like, all right, can
we put this drive together. We got to put a
drive together, and that's what they needed two weeks ago
because you can't ask anything more from the defense at
this point. You love more takeaways, you know, you'd love

(03:59):
to affect the quarter back a little bit more, but
at the end of the day, they're getting off the
field two weeks in a row against teams that are
winning games, winning records, you know, in Carolina and in Denver.
You need an offense that can put a drive together
to go win a game. That's that's the short answer.
The big answer is, yeah, like they got to start,

(04:19):
you know, finding ways to win games right now.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Do you like the timing you saw from to rod
in that small sample the second half.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
He did play a series in the first.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Half after Justin Fields was evaluated there in the blue tent.
But it seems like ten of twenty two, you're down
double digits. That's not the ideal scenario. But the ball
was coming out. He was sacked three times. We're gonna
get to that in a second. But he remains one
of the better deep ball throwers in this league.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
He gives you a chance, you know, he gives you
a chance right now, and you know he knows how
to maneuver the pocket and you know the rush. You know, look, Carolina,
those young guys played good. Derek Brown was that's the
best defensive tackle I've seen in football through the first
seven weeks of the season. You know, he batted a
couple of balls down, you know, at the lion of
scrimmage where you don't even know what's going to happen,

(05:12):
you know, you know, but I just thought under the circumstances,
he gave him the best chance the second half, like
you kind of kept thinking, like this is good, this
can happen. They can win this game. They can make
the play. And they had a couple of shots and
they just didn't you know, they didn't complete it, and
they you know, but I just thought overall, the offense

(05:33):
looked like it moved better, you know, when Tarad was
under center.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
How about the landscape without Garrett Wilson. I mean, the
guy's playing as well as anybody in the league right now,
and then unfortunately he missed his first game of his
pro career, which is saying something in itself.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
He's not the biggest dude, but.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
He's out there every week, consistent, productive, altra competitive and
as far as target share, you know that Jet's going
to try to get him the football, and then you
take five out of the lineup, it has a huge impact,
no matter what else is happening.

Speaker 6 (06:07):
It's it's so noticeable. Yeah, it's just so noticeable in
the lineup, not in the lineup, you know, and you
know the attention that he's going to get, you know.
I mean j. C. Horn is a good player over
there on that side. You know, they pay him one
hundred million dollars to play corner, one of the highest
paid corners in the whole league. But he's a guy
that could beat man coverage. He's a guy that understands

(06:29):
how to not just get open and understand, you know
where the self spot and then his own is. But
his ability to adjust to a ball in the air
for a ball that might not be perfectly thrown or
maybe that's the only way you can get it to him,
He's going to make all the adjustments you can. And
you know he's he's you know, he's a top flight
wide receiver in this business for a reason. And you

(06:50):
know these Ohio State guys right now are flourishing in
this league all over the league. And yeah, he's as
good as you know, Jackson Smith and jigbo or like.
You know, he was teammates with all those guys and
they've all been trained the right way. They all know
how to adjust to a ball in the air, and
he's he's as good as any of them.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Let's take a break. Then we're going to bring in
Bart Scott as well. Jets fans clear the wrong way.
The New York Jets are ready for take off against
the Cleveland Brons. Be there at MetLife Stadium on Sunday,
November ninth at one pm to experience the action and
energy of Jets game Day.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Don't miss out.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Lock in your seats at NY jets dot Com slash tickets.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Look who the cat dragged in? Baldi, My man finally
decided to join us.

Speaker 6 (07:39):
I mean, I gotta say, I mean, Bart, you look good, brother,
You look good man. It's not an easy business, like
the way we run around and work to like take
care of yourself. But you look good, bro.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
I appreciate it. Man. I've been on his healthcake. Man.

Speaker 7 (07:50):
I jumped on a peloton late last night, Man, and
I had I had to re subscribe for my membership
because it's been a year and a half. But I know,
you know, you know what works for you, and I
know for me to cut this fat, I gotta start
hitting the bike late last night? What time, seven o'clock?
That's it is hard when I was over there with

(08:12):
you all damn day yesterday. So to have energy to
get on the bike late at night after working all day,
it's tough.

Speaker 6 (08:17):
Hey, let me let me remind you, Bart, body, fat's
the silent killer. Man. We gotta you know, we got
just we gotta stay lean here. You gotta stay leaning
in this world.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
No, he looks Baldi, You're right, he looks clean. Though
he looks clean.

Speaker 7 (08:31):
Stop sweating, man, Maybe I took too much pre work
out or something old y case.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Stop sweating, all right, part thanks for joining us.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Let's get into Jets offense versus Bengals defense, and we
talked to Baldi about the situation here. What do you
want to see from this Jets offense against the Bengals defense?

Speaker 7 (08:52):
Well, I want to see the pass game open up,
but also the run game too. I want to see
the expansion of the playbook because Tyrod Taylor offers a
lot of the actual said Jared Golf offers with a
little bit more.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
So.

Speaker 7 (09:02):
I want to see underneath the center. I want to
see play action. I want to see balls thrown in
tight windows. I had no problem with Tyrod Taylor last
week throwing the ball down the field. I thought this
receivers did a bad job in fighting for the ball.
If my quarterbacks is gonna give me a chance to
make a big play, then I have to go back
and that ball has to be incomplete at worst.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
And if you go back to that ball and conpete
for that ball, j C.

Speaker 7 (09:23):
Horn runs into you before the ball gets there and
it's passing the Freren spot File ball on the one
yard line. You expect that from a veteran receiver. We
didn't get that last week. But it's not that Tyrod
made the wrong play. Could have have been a better ball, yes, right,
but could a receiver? A lot of in this league,
receivers made quarterbacks, right, and right quarterbacks made receivers, right.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
I agree, Yeah, you gotta fight football, you know. I
mean I liked the same thing, bar. I like the
fact that they got the ball down the field. They
gave the receivers a chances like, look, they miscarrett obviously,
but you know this business right now, these jump balls
are fifty to fifty, Like who's coming down with it?
To give yourself a chance? You gotta go.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
All right, let's let's move ahead. How did the Jets
get Priest Hall going? Because listen, if the past game
does come along. Aaron Glenn said something interesting after the game.
He said that what's happened in early in these games is,
you guys know that everybody knows that Jets want to
run the football. They want to establish the run, so

(10:22):
they're facing the loaning boxes. Then you get behind by
time of the second half, and then everybody knows you're
gonna try to throw the football.

Speaker 7 (10:31):
Yeah, well you need well you know, just because I
know Baldy, you know, probably need some Manuka honey because
he carried you know, the whole show for the beginning
of the show.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Why I wasn't here?

Speaker 7 (10:39):
You know, I think they're not creating enough horizontal space
avenues confusion, deception, and decision. And I don't understand, like,
if two of your best players are your running backs,
why aren't they on the field at the same time.
We watched a couple of weeks ago, we watched Atlanta
do it with as you Why can't, like, even with

(11:00):
justin fields in the game. Why isn't this looking like
a triple threat running game. Why isn't Why isn't Breese
Hall playing the role of Ricky Williams? Why isn't Why
isn't Ronnie Brown in the backfield? Why are we playing
that type of game? And then when you do all that,
the fakes jet sweep, the fake downhill power run in
your face, now you got real estate to throw the

(11:21):
ball behind the linebackers because you gotta respect all that
as a linebacker. I have to pause for a second
or so to see are you handing this jet sweep
off to your best football player? Breeze Hall, then I
have to see Okay, well, okay, while I'm looking at
that now all the good coach brothers, Todd Gurley back
in the day. It's just a regular power play with
a puller. But you can't see that because you're looking

(11:42):
at the jet sweep. So create indecision, create Paul's listen.
I played with Jamal Lewis and we had Kyle Boehler,
who was no threat to do anything. And Jamal Lewis
ran for two thousand yards. And you don't think we
played against loaded boxer, You're crazy. You pick out the
one guy that you're not on block and you decide

(12:02):
who's the unblocked guy or who's the guy that got
the most dangerous parts.

Speaker 6 (12:06):
That's what I was always talking. Block the most dangerous players.
And if the unblocked guy's making a play, all right, great,
well there's ways to handle that too. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Yeah, Let's make him make eighteen tack becaus.

Speaker 7 (12:17):
Let's see his body feels when you got to come
down and sell on their train track for eighteen of those,
and nine of those are given to two different running backs.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
A piece that's fresh. Let's see if he want to
keep taking that.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
So part You've always been in favorite keeping both of
those backs, and now Braylan Allen's been out for a
couple of.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Weeks, but you like Isaiah Davis as well.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Well, you can put a lot of stress on the
defense no matter who you got out there, if you
got both the backs.

Speaker 7 (12:39):
Yeah, because Isaiah Davis, I think is the perfect combination
between Brayln Allen and Brees Hall.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
He's just as big.

Speaker 7 (12:44):
People forget that he's over two ten, and people forget
that he's fast and he can catch. So when he's
in the game, you don't know if it's a pass
or run because he does both. He plays as a
third down back, but he's big enough to be a
first and second.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Down back, So like make it make sense.

Speaker 6 (12:59):
You know, it's interesting, not that you know Chicago, Chicago,
but I mean it's it's the mentality that Aaron's bringing
that Ben Johnson has. And you watched Chicago, like they've struggled.
They got a rookie left tackle, it's undrafted, but they
ran for twenty two yards against the Saints like they
pound like they it's coming there. It's not about the
quarterback anymore. It's about wind, the line of scrimmers. I

(13:21):
feel like the Jets still can get to that where
they can really emphasize the run. They just got to
keep working at it. You got to keep working at it.
You got to get your tight ends involved, Like there's
there's ways to move this football on the ground where
you could take a lot of pressure off whoever is
taking the snap, whoever's that quarterback, and they they you know,

(13:43):
we saw week one, it's gotten away from it. It
hadn't looked pretty, but there's times in this league where
you can it's a week to week league. They got
to keep stretching it, keep emphasizing it. And you could
do that again Cincinnati this weekend.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Bart In addition to the two running backs, you want
to see the two tight ends out there a lot
where hey, you got you got Breese, you got Isaiah,
but you're gonna have Mason out there and then Rock
as well, because Rock gives you an ability to be
an extra blocker and he also can catch.

Speaker 7 (14:16):
The ball, gives you another gives you another gap in
the run game too, because now you have two guys
on the line of scrimmage. That gives you another gap
to get some maybe some double teams on force to
maybe get some I would like to see like Breeze
Hall run the old Egrin James under center sprint out
straight outside zone. We see Bgion Robinson Atlanta Falcons killing
the league with that. You have to trust that Breese

(14:36):
can make that cut and make that decision either to
cut it up or cut it out. I mean, we've
seen Atlanta's Gary, We've seen the Koubiak system, Like, come on, man,
if you got if this is what you got, this
is how you utilize it right. And you can have
the two tight ends and one receiver like we saw
with the Pittsburgh Steelers last week when they had the
jumbo package with DK Metcalf didn't break the formation right.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
You know what I'm saying. You could?

Speaker 6 (14:57):
You could.

Speaker 7 (14:57):
You're you're allowed to break the formation. You don't have
to lineup where you start at. You can actually shift
and put tight ends out there at the wide receiver
spot or the Z receiver and actually let them run
a round on against maybe a linebacker or safety, which
should be advantage you.

Speaker 6 (15:12):
I feel like I feel like this is a two
tight end league right now. Around the league, I feel
like it's a twelve personnel league. It's not four wives,
it's not even eleven personnel, it's twelve personnel. Sometimes it's thirteen.
Like you go get Max Mitchell, put them in the game,
Like we're not fooling anybody. Let's move the line of scrimmage.
Like I feel like that's where this league is at.

(15:34):
Just studying the whole league at this point. I feel
like the Jets got it, you know, they They've got
to take advantage of that right now.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
We're gonna have to see if Trey Hendrickson is off
this week. He was dealing with the hip last week
against the Steelers. Of course, got ten days in between
ball games. But when you look at that Cincinnati defense, Baldy,
they've given up a lot of yards both on the
ground in the air.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
Jalen Warren went off last week.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Not only did Aaron Rodgers have the four touchdown passes,
but Warren was averaging nine point seven yards per carry
and that's not a Pittsburgh team that has run the
ball really well early this season. And then he also
got it gone out of the backfield. So that's why
I'm circling Breeze Hall in this camp.

Speaker 6 (16:17):
Well, you know, you always look backwards to look ahead.
So you look at their last game against the Steelers,
and gain Well and Jalen Warren ran the ball really good.
Broke a lot of tackles too. It's one like just
big holes. I mean, they ran through tackles. They got
a rookie linebacker in there right now. You don't know
what Demetrius Knight knows what he doesn't know, Like they're
throwing them in there. Logan Wilson's been in and out
of the lineup. He'd been there for five years. You know,

(16:39):
it's it's an al Golden defense. They're changing things from
you know what lou Anarumo did. They're trying to figure
things out. They're trying to figure out some of these
young guys that they've drafted, you know, where should they play,
what's the rotation, and so they're they're trying. They're week
to week two defensively, and they haven't been They have
not been great. And so there's opportunities there to run

(17:02):
the ball, to get the ball out of your hands.
I mean, there's just opportunities against this defense.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Yeah, bart youth movement over there in Cincinnati, and they're
making a transition on the run, like Baldy just said
they got a new coordinator and they're trying to figure
things out on their own, and you're seeing that.

Speaker 7 (17:17):
Yeah, that's why you go on and you run things
that force them to communicate. That's why you speed up
to the line of scrimmage and force them to make
communication in real life time. That's why you hit them
with shifts and motions. That's why you get them stuck
in a certain personnel group. And you pick your best
personnel group and you have different formations, different plays, different lineups.
You know, you make you personnel play like three wives.
You do all that to make them see if they

(17:39):
if they dotted their eyes and cross their teeth.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
That's what you do with young groups. You confuse them.

Speaker 7 (17:45):
You run crossing routes, you run speed o's, you run
pick routes, and see if they can communicate and see
if they can live life in that pressure cooker. That's
why you have a veteran quarterback like Tyrod Tayler that
knows all the tricks.

Speaker 6 (18:00):
You know, if you just look at last week's game,
you know the Cincinnati doesn't have a Shawn Robinson Derek Brown.
They don't have those guys inside that are very difficult
to move like this. This they've got. I mean, it's
been a it's been a weakness of the Bengals, you know,
for quite a while now, Like I think, you know,
this offensive line has got to wear the hat this week,

(18:21):
Like it's time to come together. Forget about what the
names of the back of the jerseys are where they
were drafted. It's kind of put it together, you know,
and have a good day up front and win the
line of scrimmage, like, uh, you know, it's this is
this is the opportunity and you have to grow week
in week out up front. And when your offensive line

(18:42):
plays together as one and really starts moving the line
of scrimmage, like, then you give yourself a chance to
win these games.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
All Right, we got more tricks ahead.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Let's take a quick break and then we're gonna talk
about the Jets defense versus the Bengals offense.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Are you the ultimate Jets fan?

Speaker 1 (18:57):
The New York Jets are celebrating the most passionate committed
fans of the game with the annual Fan Hall of Fame,
presented by Ticketmaster. Submit your nomination at ny Jets dot
com slash Fan Hall of Fame. Terms applied bart We
started this week with Sauce Gardner in concussion protocol.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
The Bengals got those receivers.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Jamar Chase with targeted twenty three times, He's sixteen catches
against the Steelers. T Higgins he pitches in with six
catches ninety six yards. Those guys are as dynamic as
any combination in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
If the Jets do indeed not have.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
Sauce Gardner, how do they go about the matchup on
the outside with Brandon Stevens, who's familiar with these guys
from his days in Baltimore, of course, and then also
you have a rookie and Az Thomas.

Speaker 7 (19:46):
Yeah, and Jamar Chase lit the Barton Moore Ravens up
all the time routinely. He's got a couple two hundred
yard received in the games against them. So listen, proud
to get you killed, right, and you know you talk about,
you know, on the football field, Jalen Ramsey thought he
was bold and thought, you know, he was what he
what he used to be, and then he got served up.
Then they went out there and they said, all right,
well let's give up Joey Porter. He got served up. Okay,

(20:08):
big play slate that's a that's a name that was earned,
not anymore. He got served up. So listen, learn from
your your from your opponents, or from your your your
your other team's mistakes.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Do not go man the man right there.

Speaker 7 (20:20):
Understand what the Jets have been, but don't listen, don't
don't don't die fool's death, right, you know, make sure
that you know we talked about and Baldi talked about, Hey,
the offensive line is on them this week. Well on
this week, it's on the linebackers. Right, listen, because guess
what you're gonna be in the lightest of boxes. I've
been here before, and I've been I've been tasked with
the same thing at one point. You know, the the

(20:41):
Bengals used to have Carson Palmer, they used to have TJ.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
Who's your Mama?

Speaker 7 (20:47):
Used to have Cho Sinko, and they had Chris Henry
and then they had Big Willie, which was the Jonathan
Oggen of Ohio. Right, So we know we did We
said listen, bart Ray, so you brother, because we need
all hands on deck for these receivers. So we did
unique things, even so much so that we played corner.
We would take our linebackers and go play corner and

(21:08):
put the sat the corner over the top and say
get a jam at the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Bart and I would just mirror Chad Ochosinko.

Speaker 7 (21:14):
A lot of people have seen it on my Instagram
where I'm like in there and I'm jamming him at
the line of scrimmage, but then I'm undercutting him for
the seven route and the corners playing over the top.
You have to have unique coverages like that that you
can mix things up. But to do that, that means you, lady,
to send us some gods. You said quinnin Phillips, Jermaine McDonald,
I need you to be a man and a half

(21:35):
because it's gonna be five on five and a running
back and maybe a linebacker. I need y'all to pick right,
and I need y'all be dominant.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
So a big game up front, not just for the cornerbacks.
Of course, in the safety. So Bart's saying, hey, listen,
light box bald either. So that means Jamie Sherwood, he
is gonna have a lot of responsibilities if we know that.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
But I I like, we're sure what's he's starting to
come along.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
I thought his last two games has been his best
game of the season, and I mean statistically last week
against Carolina was one of Wood's best games well overall
as a pro.

Speaker 6 (22:12):
You know, the thing is what they didn't what they
did last week, because you know, those running backs in
Carolina were killing people right what they did last week,
and Bart you saw it like if you sit there
and catch blocks in this league, you're gonna get torched.
Like they attacked the line of scrimmage. You know, they
used to say, you know, you back up, you give
it up, you step up, and you clean it up.
They stepped up and cleaned it up last week, and

(22:34):
that was that's how you have to play. You know.
Prior to last week, the Cincinnati Bengals, Chase Brown, whoever's
that run, they were the worst running football team in
the league. Now, the passing game opened things up for
Chase last week, but that that offensive line, they had
a rookie right guard and they actually didn't when Fairchild
was at left guard. They had two rookie guards in there.
They were awful running the football. Now Joe really helped them,

(22:57):
you know. Eventually, you know, they started backing up and
trying to take the receivers away and they opened some
things up in the running game. But this was not
a good running football team prior to last week. They
were the worst of the league. And so to Bart's point,
all right, like you know where the hat guy's up front?
You know, like earn your paychecks this week. It's it
might be an underman group, but you know you got

(23:19):
to beat these guys up front.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Well, Bart, what would be a good number for the
Jets defense. Each of the past two games they give
up thirteen points. Now you're playing against the prolific Bengals attack,
even though they're down to Joe Flacco playing quarterback.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
But he's done a lot of great things of it.

Speaker 7 (23:36):
Yeah, listen, Joe Flacco is an upgrade Joe Flacco from
an arm talent. With this type of talent, this type
of receivers is not too much different from Joe Burrow.
The ball is out, Joe Flacco still has one of
the strongest arms in football, and he's not being protected

(23:57):
because the offensive line is great. He's been protect because
the receivers create separation so quickly and their catch rateds
is so big. Joe Flacco has so many places in
which he can place the football where it's going to
have a positive result. So that's why they traded for him.
They knew exactly what they were doing. Joe Flacco is
a perfect quarterback for this perfect offense for help. But

(24:18):
you how do you combat that? You have to get
Joe off the spot. To do that, you gotta challenge
these receivers at the line of scrimmage. That's why I
said Rex used to make the linebackers sometimes it was
the duliest time that's going out there at two seventy quick,
jamming the hell out of the receiver. Because it doesn't
matter if your DN can do that. If Jermaine Jamont
Johnson has that type of skill set, all you are
are forced. So once you jam the hell out of them,

(24:40):
then you go to your rush and you still got
the edge. The tackle has to wait for you. He's
not gonna run out there and come get you. You
jam the receiver and you come down and you look
it inside. You push them, throw the time and all,
and then now you give the other guys that's in
the in the box the opportunity to rush. And then
you basically come back and set the edge as like
a corner blitz. Your basically corner blitz. It's in your
linebacker who's already your corner blitz. And what you do

(25:03):
is when you walk out, you have your tackle. So
when you have your tackle, you tell your tackle. Instead
of step in to the man inside of you, you
step to the man outside of you. Now, as a linebacker,
it lets me know that it's gonna be inside gaps,
is gonna be big. But then I know I got
to step up and be big in there, and I
know I got a safety coming down late. You know,
these are all the rules of the game. You know
what I'm saying, So easier k man can do it.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
NFL is a game of timing in space, as bart
is saying, their Baldy. What's interesting now with Flacco is
we know he can throw that ball and deliver it
anywhere outside the numbers. But what the Bengals do they
put so much pressure on you, is that they're creating
a lot of room there in the middle of the field.

Speaker 6 (25:46):
Well, they're gonna move Chase around. You know, he's gonna run,
he's gonna run his crossers, he's gonna run his go routes.
You know, he's he's a running back with the ball
in his hands. Like he's very hard to tackle and
he's not gonna go out of and so you know,
the contested catches outside the numbers that Joe's excellent thrown
at and you know, count to three and the ball

(26:07):
is gone. It's in the air. So it's hard to
get to them. But uh, you know, you got to
play the ball in the air, Like who wins this?
These jump balls are winning these football games right now.
And to Bard's point, all three of those guys Ramsey, Joey, Porter,
Sligh like they got torched in that game playing man
and so go go do what the league is doing.

(26:29):
They're all playing these shell defenses right now and they're
not manning up right now, and it's it's hard to
get the ball down the field if you're not doing
play action. So sit in that shell, you know, and
then go tackle to catch. Go make them play on
the ball in the air right now.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
A big pitcher, Bart, what do you make of this game?
For the Jets?

Speaker 1 (26:49):
All and seven battling defensive effort has been there getting
winning football, you know from your special teams. So you
got two three phases, You've had some quarterback instability.

Speaker 4 (27:04):
Young team who is not able to get over the hump.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
Yet, but you're facing the Bengals team that's trying to
stay in it while their superstar quarterback remains on the sideline.

Speaker 7 (27:17):
Well, what I'm saying is, no matter if you were
five and two or four and three, it sucks to
go into your by week off the loss, right, It
sucks to go and travel and have to watch football.
You know, it feels so much better when you can say, Okay,
we found something and we know we come back. The
coaches are going to do a review of everything, an

(27:38):
audit of what we've done in the first half, and
we're going to try and fix it.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
Let's give them something to work off of.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
Baldy Well, I mean, this team just needs to win,
and so it's all hands on, Dacky. You don't know,
you see how these games are being won every year,
you know, every week. You know, they're all won in
loss on plays, you know, and the players got to
make the plays. And so you know, we saw Jarvis

(28:07):
Brownley get the ball out a couple weeks ago, like
it'd be good to get the ball down on the ground,
you know, And Joe Flacker was turning it over when
he was in Cleveland, and you know, it'd be good
to see Joe hold that ball an extra tick and
will get there, or like these two tackles look like
everybody loves Zeus, but like he can be a turnstile
out there, and so you know, you got to get

(28:27):
to get to Joe. He'll get put the ball on
the ground. He's going to give you an opportunity. Be
good to you know, win the turnover battle in one
of these games, and that usually determines the outcome of
these games.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Right now, all right, files, Well it's gonna be a
fun one and next week we're gonna send you a
reminder part Scott appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
Okay, time for our extra point.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
The Jets have lost five games by seven points or fewer.
They're getting enough from their defense and special teams to
win games. Can the offense find its mojo? And Cincinnati
Garrett Wilson did in practice early this week with the
knee injury, and Sauce Gardner also is in concussion protocol.
No matter who plays quarterback in this game, watch the youth.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
There's this scenario here where.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
The Jets can start six members of the twenty twenty
five draft class in right tackle Armand Mambu, tight end
Mason Taylor, wide receiver Arion Smith, linebacker Keiko Myonoa, safety
Malachai Moore, and cornerback a Z.
