Speaker 1 (00:05):
Welcome to another edition of the Players Club. London Fletcher
as always, Santana Moss, Bluefoot, Sean springs Man Fellas, it's
that time. We got a great show. We're gonna talk
about the Dallas Cowboys. Obviously Dallas Week hits a little
bit different around here. We'll get into that matchup preview
that we got Mikey Sanders Steel Place Football Players Club
(00:30):
is presented by Pepsi, the official soft drink of the
Washington Commanders, and in part by Johnson Kendall Johnson, the
official insurance broker and risk management partner of the Washington Commanders.
Where our passion is your protection. We're gonna get just
started off. We're gonna kind of look back to the
game against the Philadelphia Eagles and although we lost, there
(00:50):
were some guys who played well and we got to
hand out Dubbs of the week. Yes, sir, gotta put
the chain on, man chain on, So you know, looking
back Man, and I'll start with you Blue. Let's switch
it up a little bit. Duves of the week? Who
you who gonna who You're gonna give your dubs of
the week.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
I got an inherent bias towards Frankie two sacks and
Lonnon I keep telling this. What sticks out of my
mind is when we brought him here from Carolina, we
were thinking linebacker, linebacker, linebacker, and then a few weeks
back you talked about his moves and you pointed something
(01:31):
out like, man, this guy got rush moves. I didn't
know he had those moves, and it shows. I mean,
this guy is a forcing the past game. He can drop,
he can cover, but he is he was my double
the week man. I just I just think the kid
just shows up each week and two sacksual big.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah, I think.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
You know, it's hard to give out dubs when you
took a l but I think if it's one guy
I want to shine a light on, it'll be Austin Eckler.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Eckel has been tremendous. Like you know how people fail
to realize, you know, especially kids, they look at these games,
they look at you know, our game and say, do
you start?
Speaker 3 (02:12):
You know, are you a starter? You know? And it's crazy.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
It wasn't until you know, I got my position changed
later in my career when I became a slot guy,
primarily to where I understood that it's a you know,
you have to have some kind of valuable, you know.
I mean, you got to have a value of you
know what your role consists of. And I value my
role so much to whereas I knew that when I'm
(02:36):
coming in the game on third down, it's to move
to change, it's to make sure that if everybody else tan,
you get open. And so when I watched Austin go
to work man watching his career when he was in
La and San Diego, and to see him here now
still can run the ball between the tackles, but his
road is so huge for what he does was.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Offensively, it goes to work.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
I mean, even if he's not the prime every guy,
he's the guy, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
So I gotta get him a dub Man.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
He had eighty something plus yards receiving for us and
just kept finding a way to move the chain. I
think that was our worst performance when it came to
moving and change on third down, But when we did,
he was behind it most of the time.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
What you're talking about is starting in your role, and
he's starting that role.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
To think about.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Eckler, that that impresses me is yack yards after cast
yards out of contact. I mean, he was he was
making I think the first reception he had he had
about twenty yards after after contact, you know, just breaking tackles,
making guys missing overfield. So he's definitely he definitely gets
a double the week I'm gonna give I'm gonna give one.
(03:39):
I think Jeremy chen could could definitely see one, but
I'm gonna go with our guys.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
That's coming up on the show later.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Mikey Salmus. Still, yeah, I thought Mikey samar Steell was
outstanding against two premiere wide receivers in the National Football
League and A. J. Brown and Davonte Smith. He introduced,
they have big games again, Yeah, have a big game.
He stood up. They tried him a couple times on
some fade routes in the end zone back shoulders. He
(04:06):
was in position to play both play the back shoulder
and the fade in case of they try to throw
throw the fadeball. So I thought he played out standing
in football. As you look at this game, losing it,
losing to the Eagles, man and we're talking about dubs
a week and kind of switching up a little bit,
losing to the Eagles, losing to the Steelers, well, the
two game losing streak. How do we get things corrected?
(04:30):
How do we get this thing going in the right direction?
Speaker 5 (04:33):
And it starts with one word first, relax.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Yeah, hey, guys, we knew.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Coming into that, you know, week of Pittsburgh and then
a short week on a Thursday night against Philly with
b Rob hurt against Pittsburgh, he didn't play right. He
came back obviously for the Eagles game.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
But that's a tough stretch.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Every team faces a tough stretch, whereas a short week,
great team games. Pittsburgh is awesome. It's been great this year.
So for me, it's like we can get back on track.
Obviously we're gonna talk about dollars this week, but we
got the first start to think about it, like, hey,
we gotta relax. I don't want everybody to think that, hey,
we're supposed to be going to the super Bowl right away.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
We teams, teams have tough times.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Yeah, I look at it like this, man, regardless of
the simple fact that we lost.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Look who we lost against the competition.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
We got the number We got the best defense in
the league in Philly, and then you have the number
top three defense in the league in Pittsburgh. And not
only is these guys considered to be competitives when it
comes to going into the postseason or fighting for that
that trophy.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
But we had a chance to.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Win the game both games, and both games and.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Lost to Pittsburgh on the last two drives and lost
the Philly after the fourth quarter, like we wanted to
the fourth quarter with the lead.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
If we get that fourth and two with jail and
that's our total.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
So relaxes is the key word.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
Yes, relax but at the same time, understand that we
have something brewing here. Man, these guys are playing way
ahead of schedule when it comes to what we expected,
you know, as to me, as to myself personally, I
didn't have these high expectations for this team come into
the season.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Now.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
I wanted them to play well, but I didn't see
us playing the way they play right now. They looking
like a well or machine each and every week. Now,
did we go back a little bit offensively, yes, but
rightfully so because who we faced. And I think we
just got to get back on the board. Because if
you think to me, though, the number one denominated that
(06:32):
heard us from winning those or winning that game last
week was not playing complimentary football. I think when you
see our defense go out there, hold these guys to
field goals or have that missfield goals and the and
have that being but not break mentality. Offense gotta come up,
You gotta respond, gotta put points on the board.
Speaker 5 (06:51):
And it was tell Philly was number it was.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
It was. That's what we're saying.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Regardless of the fact that when you have that kind
of a game, ain't knowing that it's gonna be tough,
you still got to come on, come up with those players.
So I just feel like that's what's been going on,
and I hear a lot of the turping on.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
You know that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
You hear it relaxes one thing, but also got to
get healthy. Yes, you gotta get healthy, especially in the
trenches along the offensive line. You saw kind of the
not the effects of not having a healthy offensive line
against the Philadelphia egles Man. No boy, they got some
boys on that offensive defensive line and they dictated the
(07:31):
terms of the agreement. I talk about no peace treaties
and all that type of stuff. The Philadelphia's defensive front
they were able to dictate the terms of that and
it was, you know, we we had some guys banged
up beyond us has been. He's dealing with I think
three injuries. Coleman has an injury, he's dealing with Wiley.
He's not one hundred percent and nobody's gonna be one
(07:53):
hundred percent right now. But playing in that game you
can see the effects of it. That's when we're healthy.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Against like the Johnson Dexter Lawrence and they were pretty
good d line, we look totally differents Okay, having that
those three days off, the extra time off before we
get ready to play this game against the Cowboys, that's
going to help us tremendously and to get back to
the identity of who we are and how we want
to be, how we want to function as an offense.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
When when when you think about the seven games that
we've won, yep, we have a thirty five Russian tempts
per game, thirty five rushing tests per game. The games
we've lost under thirty under twenty five, twenty four and
a half Russian tests per game. Yeah, big difference in the.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
Yard not dictating the terms and not dictating.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
The terms and the yards. I mean, we're averaging in
those wins maybe about one hundred and eighty plus yards
rushing per game and those losses eighty seven and it's
a lot of the s Q because of the game
won against the against the time Bay Buccaneers went right
when Jay didn't rush for a bunch of ya rushing.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
For yeah, eighty six, I think that yeah, so a
lot of that is even skew.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
But if you really peel it back to these last
three games, these last three losses, it's more in the sixties,
or it's more in the sixties maybe.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
I mean, when that brings up a point Dan all,
you do you think that teams now are saying we
have to stop to run and force them to pass it.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Part of them not having not having b Robin Hardis
and Baltimore and Pittsburgh not having him. But it's a
situation where you have to stay ahead of the change.
Third downs situation. We were in a lot of third
longs instead of being we got to guess the positive,
yob First, we're a lot of third and mediums and
higher as opposed to you know, let's call it third
(09:43):
and four or less. In a game against Philly, we didn't.
We didn't convert a lot of third downs. You have
to stay ahead of the change. You can't allow a
team with the pass rush like like Philly and the
coverage kings of there that they were playing, you can't
allow them to operate them stole in third and mediums
and higher. We got to get back to playing our
(10:04):
style of football. And one of the ways we can
do that is by getting healthier as an offensive line.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
All right, Felers, But you know how we do this thing.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
Man, It's time to talk Drive Time presented by Easton
Automotive Group any car anyway for everyone since nineteen eighty eight.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
And on this segment, Man, we're.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
Gonna we're gonna dive into this rivalry.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Man. You know, the cowboy rivalry.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
Love, it means something, It means a lot.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
What I'm gonna ask you guys before we get into
the cowboy rivalry, which rivalry or which team you thought
was bigger? When was the bigger rivalry in our division?
Whether it was Dallas, Philly or the g Men in
New York.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Well, the one that was perceived the biggest from the
fan base was Dallas and US because of the history,
historical content of it, teams winning Super Bowls, a bunch
of teams, those battles. We want Dallas all those type
of memberies that brought, So that was that was huge. Now,
(11:03):
I had a greater disdain for the New York Giants
because it was because of the way I thought they
were kind of arrogant, the way they tried to kind
of carry themselves out. I thought they were, you know,
better than us. But so it's from a fan base,
the rivalry was bigger against the Cowboys. Me personally, I
had a greater disdain for the Giants.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
I think you hit it on the head.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
I've always spoke about looking getting up for that Cowboy game.
For some odd reason, I didn't get up the same
way for the Philly game. But the Philly game was
always one of them hard for the games. But the Giants, Man,
I hated playing those dudes, like I just brough. It
was something about I don't know it was the New
York aspect of it, or it was just like you say,
(11:47):
it just they walked around like it was like it
was something different about them, like you know, like we
didn't belong on.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
The field with them, and at times at times we
act like we didn't belong with them.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
But yeah, it was just some of that boy game
to me, Like you know, Like I said, I came
into this rivalry clueless, didn't have no I mean, don't
get me wrong. I grew up watching them play, you know,
washed Emma Smith run all up and down, and you know,
you got guys like Daryl Green, Art Monk and Gary Clarkon.
I'm making plays in these games, but I had no
clue about how meaningful it was, you know what I'm saying.
(12:20):
Just coming from the uh, the AFC East, we had
our own thing going over there. When it came to
New England and the Jets and you know Buffalo and
the Jets and the Dolphins who you know, you name it.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
But when I got here and and.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
Got a taste of that, that first that first taste
that first year up in Dallas, to actually come away
with a win and to see how the city responded
to it, bro it was like no other you know,
And that that right there set the tone for the
future games for me, just realizing like, look, man, no
matter what's going on with you, be ready to play
in this game, because this this is a meaningful game
(12:53):
for the whole entire you know, city of DC.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Well, for me, I was on both sides.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
In fact, my life with my dad played for the Cowboys,
like I'm fully in it and knew what it meant
for the family, right like down there like my dad
and you know, being around Tom Landry and all those
like it was you know, crazy, right, So I grew
up like really understanding from a little boy. And then
(13:19):
I continue that didn't change for when I played, right,
So I'm just like it means something to me still,
like I want to beat them. I hated the Cowboys
one probably because I was going against too or before
that against Galloway, whoever I went against. And you talk
about the Giants ever, arrogance man, the man, the start man.
Speaker 6 (13:39):
You can't you can't tell people anything about America's team, right,
And I'm just like, well, we live we in Washington, DC,
so we're America's team.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
But it's just for me, it's Dallas because it affects
your your family, your neighbors, the city, you know. And
I've just seen that effect on that end show at Dallas.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Yeah, you know the disdain I said having for the
for the Giants. Now, I bought out always against Philly.
I bought out against all of them, just kind of.
But you would what the more meaningful game the games
that I remember the most ended up being against the Cowboys. First.
I came here having our first game in Dallas against
(14:27):
the Cowboys. Physical game, and we got at it. Later
that year, we play in the final game of the season.
Speaker 5 (14:33):
I need to win that game.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Yeah no, no, no, not that that was.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
So we beat them in the ring game late late
in the season they came. I mean we shut them
down twenty one point.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Remember the game, Sean, I can.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Remember twenty twelve end of this when they take off
for the division.
Speaker 5 (14:57):
Man, what a game again?
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Like so there's been we closed they stadium. My last
time we played at the old Cowboys stadium. You might
still were you still on the team we went down there.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
No, no, I left it? Uh nine, Oh.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
So you ain't you want to know that team we
went down there and closed that close that stadium about
with a victory. Yes, what's up the last time? Last
time we were there? But it's uh, it's gonna be
a physical game this week, regardless of the records. Don't
get caught up in Hey Cowboys at three and seven
and we're seven and four. Yeah, it's gonna be It's
gonna be a crazy game. There'll be a lot of
Cowboys fans at the Stateium. It's just how it is.
(15:30):
They Unfortunately, we got a lot of them fans around here.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
But it's gonna be a great atmosphere.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Speaking of just that memory of that Thanksgiving game, man,
that was in two thousand.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
I ain't even mentioned Thanksgiving.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Thanksgiving Game twoy twelve. I mean it was. It's crazy
because I still sit here and me and my uncle
talking about all the time, and folks would ask me
all the time tend of like when you scored that
touchdown to who you was talking to when you getting
after the fans? And I say no, bro, I say so,
I have family in Dallas, and that's one of the
reasons if I'm pretty sure or people want they want
to know why I get up for that.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Game, don't matter where is that in Dallas.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
It was always something bigger for me because my family
was they from where they don't they're not from the
They're from Miami, but they was based there and they
would be at the game. And that particular Thanksgiving game
twenty twelve, I remember buying tickets and trying to ask
the ticket guy give me some end zone tickets because
I wanted to do something specially for my uncle them,
(16:27):
and it was just I've been thinking about this for years,
and they was like, that was the game Thanksgiving.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
I remember these Thanksgiving games.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
I love the holidays period, but the Thanksgiving games I
remember as a kid playing me on the road with
my dad playing and Daytona Beach in the little Thanksgiving
Classic games and stuff like that. So when I knew
my uncle was coming to the game, I'm like, give
me some tickets in this end zone right here.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
I mean, I planned it. I say, I'm scoring this
scoring bad man.
Speaker 5 (16:55):
You're a bad man.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
You know.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
Bro.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
Now you gotta think my role is, you know, drastically different.
You know, I'm just a third down guy and I'm
coming on third down. And I remember when we got
the ball right before half and you know, Kyle called
the Gator package.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
I said, this is my chance. I gotta score.
Speaker 4 (17:15):
I don't know if we're gonna get back in this
and we were driving, we already in you know, in
the red zone, were driving and when he called that
sprint right option, you know, I said, oh.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
This is my it's I got, this is my play.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
And so thinking back at it, man to Actually the
play was covered and Robert's probably one of the best
balls he threw, probably since he was here. He threw
a back showed the ball where no one else can
catch it, button me, and he threw it perfectly, man.
And I remember twisting my body turning around and immediate
I got But my uncle was surprised.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
He didn't. He didn't know I was going to do that.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
And I'm like, come get this ball, man, come get
and I'm talking to him and all the other fans
sitting there like reaching out for the ball, and p
are like, come on, man.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
It looks hot though, because it looked like you talking
but that cast man like you said, I'm so, I'm
sure you've seen it. I mean kind of like like
he kind.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Of it was. It was. It was something, man.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
I had to pick it that game to.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
About that, I'm quite sure.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
Yeah, yeah, I bought out.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
I had to pick of that game too.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
Okay, when we come back, we'll be checking out this
week's matchup against the Cowboys at our house.

You're listening to the Players Club, presented by PEPSI. Welcome
back to the Players Club, Fellas. My favorite segment, It's
time to set the Toll brought to you by Johnson
Kendall Johnson, the official insurance broker and risk management partner
of the Washington Commanders. Where our passion is your protection.
We're gonna set the toll man by looking at this
game against the Dallas Cowboys. All right, Fellas, we got
(20:47):
a lot of former Dallas Cowboys. The goal now obviously
head coach Dad Quinn. He came from from the Cowboys
wearing that start at one point in time. But that's
that's different. Boy Joe with j your defensive hat. Former players,
a few former players, Noel Brown, Noah Brown, Follower, Armstrong
(21:10):
be Oddish, all of us. We played for multiple teams.
We had the opportunity to play against our former teams. Yes, right,
what's the life playing against your former tiss.
Speaker 5 (21:19):
You love it.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
It's big, you mean, it means something, and especially when
you think about what coach Quinn has brought to this
organization with Dallas.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
Is not doing.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Yeah, so you know if I'm from the cowboys perspective,
they pissed, they upset right from the from the Washington
from our perspective, and from the coaching perspective, and Joe
Witt they're like, I love those guys, but these my
new boys right here.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
I'm right with these guys right now, so man like.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
And then the players from a player perspective, man, it's
like sometimes you feel like, oh, you ain't.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
Want me, absolutely, you ain't want me, right okay.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Or I chose to leave and I'm glad I'm here
because I'm about to go put something on your show.
It's gonna be nice man out, and it's gonna be
it's gonna be interesting seeing how some of the coach
Quinn's former players, coach witz former players, how they react
towards the game. Because it's gonna be some mom we
know that.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
Well you just I mean speaking about some of those
guys over there, who's gonna still have a lot of
love for, you know, Coach Quinn.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Because I've already toward you.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
I've already saw a couple of podcasts with you know,
Michael Parsons talking about damn you see Quinn over there. Man,
He's like and he talked about he talked openly about
he would run through a wall for coach Quinn. So,
but it's gonna be hard. I think it's gonna be
defensive minded guys like you. Guys y'all probably have a
different perspective of playing against y'all former teams because defense.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
I feel like as a defensive.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
Guy, even when I played the game, I got a
chance to go out and I guess you can say
be an aggravator aggravated things that they want to do.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
I can impact you a lot different offensively.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
I can't hold no chip or feel like I want
to do something more so because it don't always paying
out that way for officers guy especially still, so I
remember placing the Jets, man, I never had anything to really,
I was actually kind of nervous going into those games.
And not to say that I was scared to play them.
(23:25):
It was more so on I want to just do
my part and get out of this game. I don't
want to have to go in this game when people thinking,
because everybody want to come to you with you're playing
your former team, they was making the thing bigger than
what I was making.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
You know, come here.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
But I'm coming to play football. I didn't look at
the helmet what you call. I just wanted to play
against that next team, and it may happen just so
happened to be the Jets when I was playing against them.
So I went into those games kind of like with
no expectations, just wanting to go out and be productive,
you know what I mean. When the ball came my way,
make the plays. Try to get in that paint. You know,
That's what we do as receivers, try to get in
(23:57):
that paint and they move the chains. But I can
only imagine what Armstrong feeling feeling.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Those guys are disrupts.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
They're going to go out there and disrupt things regardless
of what's going on over there and there.
Speaker 5 (24:09):
Well, let me ask you this stuff.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
As an offensive player, did you go against any dbs?
Speaker 5 (24:14):
I like, was your boys?
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Nah?
Speaker 4 (24:16):
So by that time I want against the Jets. It
was actually it was crazy. It was Reeves first year.
He was a rookie, and I remember coming from that game.
So my homeboy, everybody know, I talk about him all
the time. Both y'all both know boat boat men. You know,
grew up in Karro City. We was tight since high school.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
He played dB. I played receiver.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
It's created as odd for a receiver and the dB
to be tight like that. But it was like four
of us, but me and him kind of branched off
and made it further than the other two.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Both played for.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
The Giants for two years, then went off to play
in Canada. He we talked so much football. I hadn't
watched no film about this. Dude called and he telling me, boy.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
He played Reeves this week. Boy he good, and I'm like, okay,
he's a rookie.
Speaker 9 (25:00):
Man.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
When I came out of that game, I was like, boy,
I got a call this dude.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
It might be the best dB I ever played.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
Reavers, ain't lock you up.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
I had like six catches for like seventy yards or
something like that, and it was it could have been
a win, a game winner.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Remember you was playing then it was seven.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
Your boy Jason Campbell overthrew me on the stud of
go On Revis and the ball he threw the damn
ball and and them stands. I was so mad because
that could have won the game. We end up winning
over overtime in New York, New York.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
But I got on that phone. I didn't even get
on the bus. I'm walking at the team nice that boy,
don't be bad, don't matter, And I stamped it that day.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
I say, but that might have been the toughest toughest
guy I would have I ever had, Like I fought
for not not smooth.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
It was easy money. I'm for you going against going
against my FORMATIVEY. A lot of it depends on how
you left. Yeah, yeah, under what circumstances terms. I was
a free agent when I left. But when I left
Saint Louis and they didn't want to pay me the
type of money that I thought I was des deserving
(26:04):
to get. They had a lot of money investing in
the offense. So when I went to Buffalo and we played,
we played the Rams in the preseason, like third preseason game, right,
and this.
Speaker 5 (26:15):
Is so you're playing for real?
Speaker 1 (26:18):
I was read, I'm playing into the second half, right, man,
I had ten tackles in the first half. I see,
I see toy ho who my boy, toy want to
chop it up? And like before the game, and I
tell people, I was telling Maddie and Kayla and all
of them, I don't believe in small talk.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
Game big.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Talking to me? Was I fledge. I say, listen, man,
I can't wait to knock your That's just what it is.
What what's you say? Damn, that's how you said word
word to toy. Catch a little ball? You coming over side?
Speaker 7 (27:02):
Man?
Speaker 5 (27:04):
You get, I get.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
I get penalized right now for the type of hit
I tried to put on.
Speaker 5 (27:08):
Dude, I'm not playing with you.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Fast forward when I came here, my first here in
Washington O seven. We played the Bills the first game
after signs. Yeah, so totally different circumstances. I wasn't. Mentally,
I wasn't. I couldn't be in the space.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
I needed to.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
I didn't have the hatred that I know. Different space
where it's just a different space. We played them again
later now, I put up twenty of them, twenty tackles
on them against in Toronto.
Speaker 5 (27:36):
We lost, but I put it.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
In my work.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
But man, you just gonna you're gonna feel that way
against your former team. Man, you circle those games. I
don't care. I know, I know Armstrong them when they
came over here, all those guys they knew, hey, we're
gonna get two opportunities to go against the Dallas Cowboys,
and for whatever reason, it was I'm no longer there.
Either they didn't feel like I was shooting I was
(28:00):
part of their long term future, or they didn't pay
me in whatever the case may be. You are looking
forward to this game.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
You said something of us Keto that terms really kind
of dictate how that game is, you know, perceived to you.
You know what I'm saying, like if you leave on
good terms, like you know, for myself being that I
was traded. I wasn't traded because I wasn't worthy. I
was traded because it was a way for me to
get paid. So I never even had nothing in malice
about it, like I'm like, man, I'm going to see
the want to they basically looked out for you know,
(28:28):
and well they didn't because I was gonna stay. I
was trying to stay, and then it was just my
agent was like playing hardball, like no, we want to go.
So it ended up being a great trade because you
got Coldes back there. He wanted to be back there,
and I wanted just to be paid and go somewhere
where I was gonna be the you know, I appreciate
appreciate it more so now, but that's a that's a
good way to put it because when you face your
old teams, it normally the guys that left them on
(28:49):
bad terms be the ones that won't blood. You know
what I mean, the ones that left on good terms.
You're like, man, man, what's up?
Speaker 9 (28:55):
Man?
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Y'all? Good life the good over here. I'm trying to
have a good game.
Speaker 5 (28:59):
You know.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Look at this this Cowboys offense going against our defense.
Mines Dak Prescott, he's out for the year. Y'all see
the Cowboys watching Monday Night Football. Seen some of the
things they're going through. When you look at this offense,
y'all feel like it's some opportunities for us defensively.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
So I'm one of those guys. And I'm not petty
or I don't whole thing. I don't hold grudges, but
I do remember Cooper Rush putting the.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Show on two years ago. Yeah, so we owe him.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
I know it's a different stamp, but this organization, I
owe him.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
He embarrassed.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
He not petty, but remember he's patty.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
I'm just saying, I'm just somebody said something. Yeah I did,
I did, But yeah, I am a little patty was opport.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Let me tell you, I don't know if anything I
ever told you all this right. So that game that
was two three years ago. So we played, we played Dallas.
It was a bad weather coming down to that area.
So I go early to to Dallas. I land, I
(30:08):
get my rental car. I'm driving to the hotel. This
is my first time ever telling this story. It's Pro
Players Club exclusive. So when I land, I get a
call from from Dan Snyder and so Dan like like,
I'm asking, what's up Dad. He's like, London, I need
you to need to talk to the team before we
get to play the Cowboys. Like all right, man, I
(30:29):
had talked to the team a couple of times before
we had some good success.
Speaker 5 (30:33):
And those times that I talked to him like let
He's like let it. I need you to give him
a rich like I need you to get it to him.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
Like IM like, all right, man, I got you, I
got you, I got you. So I get I get
what I thought was a hell of a pre game
Helena walk in.
Speaker 5 (30:51):
Before the game speech on the walk in, how you walking.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
I'm sitting I'm sitting in the front of the room,
and you know, Ron doing spillings like hey, we got
a love to gonna talk to y'all. So I mean,
I do what I did. So you talk about Cooper Rush,
and at that point in time, our corners were playing.
We had a tendency to play off off like a month.
So I tell them, I said, man, stop playing off man,
(31:17):
you need the challenge.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
These they got killed.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Speak listen, you know that situation where the surgery was
surgery was a success, but the patient died. I think
they had so many p.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Take challenges.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
That was that was just a bad general.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
I had nothing to do about it. Yeah, so he
got it.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
Got to the point that game where Ceedee Lamb was
catching balls wide open back and into the end zone,
and Cooper Rush looked like man like what he did
us everybody like on So but I understand that. So
going going, getting back to what we should be expecting.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
I think he's a.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
Capable backup quarterback in this What we do defensively is
going to disrupt a lot for him. And they have
a lot of beat up guys on the offensive line.
The thing that that that's problem them right now offensively
is the one dimensional.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
When you can't run.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
The ball, it's hard to just drop back and fool
somebody passing.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
You know, we saw that last year with Sam.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
You know, you know what I got Sam, how So
that's what I'm seeing right now this team, and I
think they're thirty first team in rushing yards and they
seventh or eighth and and passing, so that.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Means they they're capable of throwing that thing around.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
But defensively, what we do, we disrupted up front and
we play some lockdown type.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
We're a lot better.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
A lot better.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
But Joe Wett with his understanding and seeing those guys
every day, Yeah, he understands the strength and weakness especially
you know of the play calling and what the quarterback
and do. Right, So naturally he's gonna go in the
game and say, you ain't gonna beat this, right, You're
not gonna beat this.
Speaker 5 (33:08):
We know that.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
So I expect us to scheme up some things based
on his factor. He know the strength of Kumu Rushan,
what he can and cannot do, and the fact that
he can.
Speaker 5 (33:18):
We better in the back end.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Now we have armstrong and follow gonna have big sack days.
Speaker 5 (33:23):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
I like, yeah, all right, So y'all talk about understanding
our offense going against this Cowboys defense. Dan Quinn, Joe Witt,
they coached this defensive year ago with the Cowboys, he
knows intimately, they know intimately stress. They know the players though,
they know intimately the stressing weaknesses of those especially on
(33:47):
the back end. You know whether it's Trayvon Diggs or
I don't know if gonna be able to play or
where where the status is in some of those situations,
Like you understand the strengths and week you know Michael Parsons, yes,
his strengths and weaknesses to attack him. When you look
at our offense going against his Cowboys defense, can we
get beast on track offense?
Speaker 2 (34:08):
Lea against this guyun the ball you gave a stat earlier.
Speaker 5 (34:12):
If it's over, if it's over thirty carries, we win.
If it's under twenty five carries, we lose.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
If you look at Dallas defense, they've been getting ran
all over people from making explosive plays against the defense
in the run. I'm not I'm talking about giving up
explosive runs. That that's a problem that's not.
Speaker 5 (34:34):
Fixed in a week.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
They got some bigger issues that need to be fixed.
So I know the mindset got to be coming into
Coach lenn and those guys looking at it like we
gotta get something.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
Yeah, I think Michael Pass is gonna always be him.
He's special.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
He's a guy that you know, you probably primarily want
to run at at times, you know what I mean,
just to get him from being a disrupted that he is.
But when you talk about splash plays, you know, minimizing
splash plays, that's all they giving up. They give me
on a big, very huge chunks of games. So in
the run game, this might be one of those games
where we say, be robbed. Okay, you got a lot
(35:06):
of rest, you was, you was off the week before
you played on Thursday night, so he had ten days
to you know, the kind of like you know, you
know Licky wounds a little bit.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
I thought, be rob look good against Look look.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Phenomenal, you know what I mean for the for the
carriage that we gave him. I think this is one
of those games where he get back to the get
back into the groove of what he did earlier this year.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Well let me look, well just to that point though
that before you get started, does Dallas be more aggressive?
Now say listen, it's all we on the five game
losing strict. It's just that's just throw the kitchen sink out.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Yeah, say they're gonna be throwing because they tried to
trick play last week.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Again talking about super aggressive on defense. Well, they're gonna
they're gonna be. They're gonna gear it up and to
stop the run. They don't play a lot of see
a lot of single high coverage. Can our Can our
receivers win outside when the when we have to throw
the football? But more importantly, are we gonna be able
to block them? You know, think about Dallas when I
(36:01):
look at their defense, and you asked me this off camera,
what has been Dallas's problem is stopping to run. They
got a lot of speed on their defense. They're built
first and foremost to play with the lead to be
in pass russ situations. And they thought that that's what
they would be in a lot this season based off
what they had a year ago Dak Crest.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
So they weren't.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
They're not built to defend thirty five forty runs per game,
But they also are not built to defend offenses that
really come down heeled at them. Run the football. If
you're going to run sideline and sideline against them, they'll
stop you against the against the forty nine ers think
it was the forty nine ers or even maybe the Falcons.
(36:41):
Maybe it's Falcons. Falcons one of the best rushing teams
in the league. They ran, they ran thirty times again,
but they only got one hundred yards. But a lot
of it was because they were running sideline the side.
They were running that outside zone. You want to run
and have success against Dallas Cowboys, it needs to be
more downhill type, more power gap type and runs all
that trying to run silide the sideline or run sideways.
Speaker 5 (37:04):
That's not gonna bowl away from Michael Parsons.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
I like running at him.
Speaker 5 (37:09):
If you away from him, you know, yeah, but.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Not even just partions. They got some guys they'll get
penetration they run, but run at them. And I'm sure
that's that's what they've When we look at this run
game and put the run game in, this is the
way you defend those guys. There will be situations where
you have to throw the football.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
M hmm.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Blocking Michael Parsons, I deal with.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
Throwing away from Trayvon Diggs, who's coming home from from
from there.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
He's Maryland, the d m V kids, so you know
he he's.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
You know, Terry.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
Terry plays big against them and it's two guys that's
in our division that Terry normally, you know, have good
outings on. That's that slave that he he didn't have
to see last week, that the young kid on him.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
And so, by the way, yeah, the coverage is that
the Eagles playing a lot totally different. Yeah, they want
no man, they want no man, no man. I don't
get caught up in all that stuff. I just had
people people.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
They couldn't taste these dogs reels and oh look at this,
look bro, that ain't had the game going.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Man.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
But you know, I tell for all the time, you
can have some of the top cornerbacks in this league.
Sean was the top cornerback at one point in time
in this league. He can't tell you he's not always man,
the man with somebody. Every now and then it might
dictate for him to be man. But at times it's
in games where you got somebody over the top of you,
well that's something different. And in them days I had
(38:38):
to cover a dude for more than what six seconds?
Speaker 1 (38:41):
More than that right pst PTSD.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
What I was saying was game no, Terry, Terry.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
Loves going up against them, not saying it's something that
he said openly. But it just seems like when he
goes against Diggs, this is one of those guys, man Dixon.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
He has great ball skills, Dix.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
This reminds me of a Patrick Peterson. Those guys are
tremendous with the ball is in the air. They're going
to give up something and they're going to take someone.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
From a little bit of For me, it would be COMMARTI.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
Commody to you.
Speaker 4 (39:09):
But I'm in something like far as how dominant these
guys was in their prime. Patrick was dominating his prime.
Diggs was dominating his prime. But you know at times Diggs,
like you know that one year when Diggs had all
those picks and and stuff, he gave up the most
yards in the league. You know, you know per you know,
per per game.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
So touch on, we got to touch on Jayden a
little bit. Yeah, he was he was off against Yeah,
that's that's two games.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Yeah, and whatever the reason being, d you say it's
not hurt. So I think we know the reason. I mean,
can I can I speak on while we think the reason.
Speaker 5 (39:42):
Is hold on?
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Let me so d you say that he's not hurt,
so we don't believe he's hurt. But what what part
of He said, miss practice opportunity, that it felt like
that was the bigger issue.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
What do you think it was, Well, you talk about
getting in these third law situations, then we talk about
not being able. We didn't run the ball against the
Eagles number one defensive tailing Carter and what they're doing
in Pittsburgh. You said it, we can't be getting ourselves
and third and long, getting off the field, losing rhythm
of it. So I think it's like establishing I run
(40:17):
at least strong positive yards on first down. So in
other words, don't let's let's stay out of the third
long what we were reflected on.
Speaker 5 (40:26):
That's what I think it's like in trouble.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
That's true, and I think two more so, you know,
we fail to realize. I mean, I'm pretty sure you
guys don't, but as fans they don't understand. And you
went against the top top five, you know, defenses. So yes,
it's going to be more of a strain than what
it was before. But with that, man said, they still
had times at opportunities at times where you know, the
first game, goys drop balls. Last week it was a
(40:50):
little more so being off here and there, and I
took more of that, so off of being short week
and rushed, you know what I mean, because when you
don't get those those live opportunities, it's hard to have
that time and that you had doing and.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
Tanna you you're great to touch on this and and
we're gonna wrap this up real quick. But people don't understand,
like with that short week, you had that very physical
game against the Steelers, the practices leading up to the
game against the Eagles, who were kind of walked. They
walked through glorified walkthroughs in the sense you as a
receiver and a quarterback, y'all. The timing of like the
(41:27):
ball he short hopped to Noel brownham d cross Rock
had they had a well that the first time they
probably the first time they ran a full speed was
in the game on Thursday night or some of the
other throws where.
Speaker 5 (41:38):
If they did not much.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
Yeah, so just from a timing standpoint, that makes a difference.
All right, that's a that's a wrap of previewing this
this matchup against Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 5 (41:49):
When we come back.
Speaker 1 (41:51):

This dude like Clark kipad put the glasses, Yeah, very
what do you get on that field?
Speaker 3 (43:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (43:37):
He's like you on your chest man. Anybody else ever
said anything like that to you?
Speaker 10 (43:42):
Yeah, a few times I've heard, like, you know, off
the field, you got the glasses on, your real calm,
just chill, and then you step on the field, you
know you're somebody else, Like what is it about you that?
And really my answer is is like, you know, when
you get on that field, you got to turn into
that that dog.
Speaker 9 (43:58):
You know what I'm saying. I gotta tapp in that mode.
Speaker 10 (44:00):
So you know, when you're on that field, like you know,
you've all experienced it, like you just become something else.
Speaker 9 (44:08):
And that like to me, that's kind of just like
your alter ego a little bit. And then when you
know you get back off the field, you just kick it.
Speaker 3 (44:13):
Right Where did that start? Though?
Speaker 4 (44:15):
I mean, you know, we all because I was just
I swear I just did a show prior to this show,
and I was I was telling BC I felt that
way about myself. Cool, calm and collective. You know, off
the field, you get between them white lines. Man, it's
something about that game, something about being on that field
turns you into that extra guy or that other guy.
Speaker 3 (44:33):
When did that start for you?
Speaker 10 (44:35):
I think I've just always kind of been like that
since a little kid, being an undersized kid or whatever
narratives was around me when I was little. Just all right,
when I step on that field, i'mna sure you something else?
You know what I'm saying, Like I'm a proved to
me that I'm not with you. I think I am
bingle So just playing with that chip on my shoulder,
Like all right, guys think they could bully me, they
(44:55):
could do this or that.
Speaker 9 (44:57):
Nah, it's not gonna be like that. You know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (44:58):
Win't going there exactly.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
You're going to.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
You know, and you're thinking about size, right, obviously did
talk about big six foot long corners, but it's all
about making plays. I honestly thought you probably were the
best best poundful found the best playing to drift going
into the thinking about that playing at Michigan, playing inside,
playing outside, you were a nickel. Tell us about like
just your your game and your skill set.
Speaker 10 (45:23):
Just playing with you know, a whole bunch of instincts.
I was, you know, making a transition from receiver to nickel.
I wasn't really familiar with all the defensive cornerback techniques
you know, right away, So it was just kind of
just being able to step in there, all right, what
I know, I can't give y'all this maximum effort. I'm
gonna give y'all leadership, and I'm just go out there
(45:43):
and make the players that come my way, you know
what I'm saying, And then within time I'm going to
learn the techniques. I'm gonna take the coaching, I'm gonna
take the criticism, but for right now, it's just about
you know, going out there and just playing fast, playing
hard for my teammates, and I think at that time
was the best way for me to have success. And
then the following year going into the off season was
very technical for me, right which is why my final
(46:06):
season at Michigan I was able to have six interceptions
two horse fund was just the game became much slower
for me.
Speaker 4 (46:12):
Okay, you talk about that transition from receiver to nickel, now,
not sure you know when did that, you know, come about.
I've always spoke highly about being a corner as a
kid growing up in little part warner play corner, corner,
safety play little receiver. But that was my true love
at corner. And to me, it made receiver easy.
Speaker 3 (46:33):
Cause it's not.
Speaker 4 (46:34):
It wasn't just that easy, but it was just I
saw things differently at the receiver position.
Speaker 3 (46:40):
What was that like for you? When did that change
come about?
Speaker 4 (46:43):
And how did it make you a better corner being
that you was receiver once before?
Speaker 10 (46:48):
Yeah, so that change happened going into my senior season,
so my fourth season, because Harbaut just called me up
at at the end of the season or right before
springboll He was like, I want you to play some nickel.
You know, we could try it out. If you don't
like it, you go back to receiver. But I think
you can have a lot of success. And he said,
you remind me of a guy that I coach named
Jimmy Ward. I didn't really know who Jimmy Ward was
(47:09):
at the time. But I started watching film on film
on him, stayed in his game a little bit. But
you know, when I think when you have a coach
like coach Harball who mentioned something like that to you,
it's not for no reason. So you know, I kind
of just I was, I fully locked in on it,
But I think the way it helped me out was
just being able to understand how one offens is called plays,
(47:30):
where they put receivers on the field, how they use
their X factor, and then just knowing how a receiver
plays football, what he's comfortable with, being able to see concepts,
see how to flow the game is, and just putting
myself in those positions. That way, I could just anticipate
and just be where I'm supposed to be.
Speaker 1 (47:46):
When you see a guy like Travis Hunter doing what
he's able to do, playing the entire game, playing both
ways offensive defense, do you kind of look back. It'say,
dang it, man, they could have used me in that way.
Speaker 5 (48:01):
Maybe I could have won.
Speaker 1 (48:02):
You know, Heidge Matrophy have been up to it, being
up for Heidsman Trophy.
Speaker 9 (48:05):
Yeah, well, he's doing is special. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 10 (48:07):
I tip my hat off to Travis Man that's that's
phenomenal what he's doing.
Speaker 9 (48:11):
Like, that's not easy.
Speaker 10 (48:13):
He's playing one hundred plus snaps a game both ways
and having you know.
Speaker 9 (48:17):
High level success.
Speaker 10 (48:18):
But I've definitely while I was there at Michigan, you know,
I told the coaches like, look, I could still do both.
Don't don't get it confused. I can still play receiver.
So actually my final season spring game, they had a
few different guys who was, uh, you know, you could
play offense and defense for I was only limited to
I think one drive. So there was like, all right,
(48:40):
well do we want to use your offense? Do we
want to use you on defense? So in one of
the practices I went to receiver. They threw me one pass.
I cut it for a test, and I coached like,
all right, Mikey can't play offense.
Speaker 1 (48:54):
How's how has your rookie season been so far?
Speaker 10 (48:57):
With with Washington, I'm loving it, man, Just you know,
a huge appreciation for the staff and everything they've done
for us, and then huge appreciation for the Vets. I
think the culture that Dave you know, built here and
a lot of US rookies to step into has made
you know, playing football here so much easier for us.
(49:18):
And you know, I think winning, of course, is always
the number one thing. When you're winning, when you're having
fun winning, it makes coming to work so much easier,
so much better, And you know, you could just be
yourself around everyone here, and you know, this is like
the perfect situation that I wanted to be a part of.
Was you know, staff who cares about the players, players
who care about each other, and it's a true brotherhood
(49:40):
and the fan base is amazing. So it's like, you know,
we have everything we need to be successful.
Speaker 4 (49:45):
You just talk about that brotherhood. And I swear I
was about to ask that question.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
We've heard everybody's coming in here.
Speaker 4 (49:51):
So what I want to ask you a little bit.
It's gonna be a little different talk about the brotherhood.
We heard it from so many people, so I'm not
going to ask you in particular about the brotherhood. But
what is it like now to add a guy Marshawn
Lattimore to this brotherhood? Like how have you guys kind
of connected with him so far in the meeting rooms?
And just what are you doing picking his brain wise?
(50:13):
I mean, you're a young guy. I'm pretty sure this
guy is what four Time called pro bowler. How has
it been since he's been in that meet room with
you guys now.
Speaker 10 (50:21):
Yeah, so you know I've already asked him questions about,
you know, how he plays the game, what he sees
when he's out there, what helps him have success that corner.
But you know, Marshan, so he's real quiet, and but
we've seen what he looks like on the field, straight dog.
So it's kind of cool to see, like at firsthand,
(50:43):
what's someone who's very relaxed and chill, quiet to him,
not to himself. But it's also a little adjustment adjustment period,
you know, coming to a new team, new faces, but
you know the year, he'll talk when you talk to him.
But I think being able to have someone like him
in the room, there's a lot of knowledge and wisdom
and experience coming from a guy like him, for myself
(51:03):
as a young guy, really just everybody in the room,
someone who's played at you know, played in them big games.
Speaker 9 (51:09):
He brings a lot to us. So just it's great
to have him.
Speaker 10 (51:13):
I can't wait for him to get back healthy so
he could get on the field and you know, we
just be out there making plays together.
Speaker 2 (51:17):
For a rookie man you're real poised man, like, like
you're like a vet already.
Speaker 5 (51:22):
Yeah, moment, the moment doesn't seem too.
Speaker 2 (51:24):
Big for this guy at all. And I noticed that
in college. You've seen to make plays in the big game.
In the Baltimore Big Game. It was the biggest game
of the season at the time. You made it play.
He got your first interception against Mars Jackson, Man Walkers, though,
what was it?
Speaker 3 (51:38):
Like?
Speaker 5 (51:38):
Man, you're smiling.
Speaker 10 (51:39):
So it's funny because one of my real, real close
friends BT callin Fox he texted me that morning or
it was the night before, he said, your first interception
against Lamar Jackson is going to be crazy.
Speaker 5 (51:51):
He texted, Wow, and just spoken in existence.
Speaker 10 (51:54):
Yeah, And you know, I think power the words are
very powerful. The morning of the ASK in the Championship,
I've recorded myself saying I'm gonna catch a interception in
this game and happy, you know what I'm saying. So,
but going back to that question, like it was it
was great, you know what I'm saying, Like, caught my
first interception against the m v P.
Speaker 3 (52:13):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 10 (52:14):
Yeah, there's only two quarterbacks I think that can make
that tackle. Is Lamar and Jayden you know what I'm saying.
So like, but it was it was great. You know,
we fought hard that game. We learned a lot about
ourselves in that game, and just we're able to learn
from that game and just move forward. But uh, it
was it was a great you know, I'm glad I
(52:34):
was able to get my first one under my belt
and just you know, just ready for the next one.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
Yeah, they gonna come, Yeah, Blue Foot, I'll state guy,
Michigan the big game.
Speaker 5 (52:46):
The game is coming up next weekend.
Speaker 1 (52:48):
I'm gonna let you deal with this that you know.
Speaker 5 (52:53):
No, that's my guy.
Speaker 2 (52:54):
You know, I'm not a lot of people don't know.
I committed to Michigan, end up going to the better school.
Speaker 1 (52:58):
But uh, I'm.
Speaker 5 (53:00):
Not even gonna bring it up because this year talking
about that, the.
Speaker 1 (53:06):
Ohio State Michigan rivalry. It's next weekend in Columbus.
Speaker 5 (53:09):
We won the last eighteen out of twenty.
Speaker 3 (53:12):
What do you expect?
Speaker 5 (53:13):
What do you expecting that game?
Speaker 10 (53:15):
Look, it's a rivalry game, you know what I'm saying.
It's a rivalry game. I'm expecting. I'm expecting good football.
Literally anything can happen, you know what I'm saying like
it don't matter if one team is eleven or O
going into that game or one in ten that game,
anything literally happening.
Speaker 9 (53:31):
I think that's just rivalry.
Speaker 10 (53:32):
Football matter because you know both teams bring their best punches.
But I'm O number here and this organization. I got
five dudes from my house stay lined in the locker room.
Speaker 5 (53:41):
That's why we win it.
Speaker 10 (53:42):
I gots what I'm saying while we win. I'm here,
I'm holding by, I'm holding on my own down here.
Speaker 1 (53:46):
So hey, we appreciate you all. Our guess we had
on the show. We asked him to sign the football
for us. Man, we appreciate you putting your autograph on
that on that football.
Speaker 5 (53:57):
Man we had Jonathan Allen early. He took up all
of the thought it.
Speaker 1 (54:00):
Was gonna be there.
Speaker 5 (54:02):
Don't worry about it.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
Hey man, we appreciate you joining us on the Players Club.
That's it.
Speaker 5 (54:07):
That'll do it.
Speaker 9 (54:08):
Sat appreciate 'all man.
