Speaker 1 (01:11):
We're gonna have to obviously get into it about last
week's game against the New.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Orleans, SA crazy game.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Got out there with the victory, got to hand our
dubs of the week fellas, So we gonna started off
with I got it, you know, we got the dub
and we're gonna give off some duves.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
So rocked that ice.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
I even got I even got the dub, all y'all.
I got two dubs, Dub dub dub doll All right, Tanner,
you were down at the big East crazy out there.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Man, it was it was nice, man, it was a
nice show up. It was a nice show up and
show out for our fans. That when we went yeah, man,
I mean they took over Bourbon Street, talking about Bourbon.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
And Canal Street. It was all d c I mean,
them people.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Everywhere.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
You just thought there was Mardi gro going on down there.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
That thing was it.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
So it was like it was so bad, Tanner. You
had a venue, you will be misdid something. They had
a fan rally, had a spot and I was in
the nice little cigar bar. Hey, I was at the
chicken spot next door to the best chicken that I
ain't gonna shot him.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
My fans they got some of the best chicken.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
But commanders fans all around and I got my whole.
I'm like, I'm just trying to enjoy myself. I'm walking
my head down, trying to try to get into the spot.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Get my chicken hood all right, Man, it's tired to
have out some dubs. Who you who?

Speaker 5 (02:45):
You?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Who you getting dubbs to?

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Well, I just spoke about just the fans showing up
and showing out, So before I get into talking about
a player, I want to give my first dub to
the fans man, the d n V. Man. What you
guys have meant to this season to me a gown
outside not having a chance to experience what I'm experiencing
now far as traveling and going on these trips without
having to play in the game. I didn't know what
the tailgate was when I was playing football. You know

(03:07):
what I'm saying. Now, I'm getting a chance to go
out here and celebrate with these guys. Have pep ridies,
do all this stuff. Man, Hats and dubs go up
to you guys, the fans, the fans of the Washington Commanders. Man,
you guys go everywhere we go and make sure the
experience is everything, and it's even better when we come home,
you know, with a dub. So I'm gonna give you
my first dub. Now my second dub goes Tom Guy.

(03:28):
You know Terry mcclaurin man, I I gotta mention Terry.
I think it's only fair for me as a receiver
giving this man the credit that just due a lot
of people sit around and you know, speak his name
in vane a little bit when it's talking about some
of the best guys in this league that's doing what
they do.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
They put some more respect on.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Gotta put some more respect on this man name.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
And I think, you know, one of the things I
was always big about, you know, I care less about
style points. You know, I mean, you gonna get it
because some of us just have this in us, right,
but they try to be little what he's doing because
of the style points with that. But I'm like, who
cares start points when you put them actual points?

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Right? You see what I'm saying, Your point.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
When you're actually going up there scoring, putting up touchdowns,
putting getting the yardage.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
They wanted to look at certain way. Yeah, everybody has
that working He got that working man field.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
He is formndy, he's for mended.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
You know, they put on their hastest, different breed. But
I just feel like he needs more credit, and I'm
gonna give him. That's why I want to give him
my dub. Terry, keep doing what you're doing. I hope
you don't break my record, my single season record.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
But guess what, I don't want those guys I can
appreciate yourself.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
I'm gonna be around with it.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
I'm one of those guys that what's the number?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
What's if you do?

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Let me finish? If you do, I'm right behind you.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
You on, But what's the number? What's the number?

Speaker 4 (04:39):
I believe I had fourteen eighty three in the single season?

Speaker 2 (04:42):
What's he had?

Speaker 4 (04:43):
He had nine something? He got a chance, got a chance,
You got chance.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
But the thing is, though, if he breaks it, or
even if he gets close, regardless, it keeps you blue.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Who was who you give a dub up? I gotta
give it.

Speaker 6 (05:01):
Well, give the dubs to my defense back and the
defensive backs for me, but the dub has to go
to marshaw on. You know, obviously it was his first game,
his debut, and now we're gonna talk about a little
more commander as a commander, but it got to mean
something he had developed the rapport with the community, the
Saints draft of them.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
He that's his home. You know. It was a little emotional.
He didn't get targeted.

Speaker 6 (05:24):
We're gonna go into the breakdown on what he meant
to the defense, but I just want to give him
a shout out because this I know what that's like
being in that was your home, getting traded and that's
your first game, your first game back as a team
that traded your So I just for him to carry
those emotions, for him to play play sout. I thought
he played great, and people know, playing over the hamstring

(05:46):
and the dome, there's a lot of distractions, and I
wanted to give a dub and recognize him in that win.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
I was worried about.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
And we've all played for other teams and then came
back and played our former team. The emotions first, it's
his first game, his debut with us. He had been
with us one four or five week weeks and his
debut is back in New Orleans. Then you can dehydrate
yourself before the game even gets started.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Just emotions and emotions.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
And then all the stuff, and just shout out to him,
like you said, shout out, shout out to him.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
This thing. All right, I'm gonna have I gotta have
my dell.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
I'm gonna give out two dubs. First dub is gonna
go to Michael Dieter. Oh yeah, backup center getting touched
bot Tyler Betis right before the game had hand. You know,
he tried to work out, get ready, and that wasn't
able to go. Indeed, like a true veteran called up,

(06:52):
called in the duty man, hey had you know, he's
that's what you got to be in tune with the
game plan because you're one player way this this situation.
He was a you gotta go against You gotta go
out there in the hostile environment.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Get the snapcom get the snaps.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
And when you say how something, it's loud in the
super For a center, that's a lot of yeah, oh.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Yeah right, and then all the things that there they
asked the center to do with this offense. So shout
out to Michael Dieter, you know, handing his business. But
Jaden Man ye Jine Jada get He's gonna get this
big dub, the big big dub.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
What he did in that game fellas I hate to
say it, if if he didn't play the way he
played the game. Just quite honestly, the first touchdown that
he had to Terry, we just eluding Saints rushers and
field ball came out for a second pixel back up.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
And that's something I have trust in your guy, right, Yeah,
you threw it into you threw it into a.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Lot of bodies trust.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
But also Poise, Yeah, you got all these guys come
at you, everything is going on around you, and still
keep your eyes down the field and seeing Terry coming
across the field and throwing it into that type wad.
I mean, it was a lot of people around that
football that play. He made a lot of plays off schedules,
scrabbles making y'all, yeah, plays with his legs picking up

(08:24):
first down the fourth and one play.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
It was crazy. Yeah, I got nowhere to go.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
All right, let's go.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah. But but but.

Speaker 6 (08:31):
To your point when you were talking about the emotion
of what sean going back, it's kind of a homecoming for.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
It was definitely coming.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
You saw fan saying, you know, welcome back home, right,
you know Jayden Damees.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
So it could have easily.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
Been a distraction for a young man too as well.
And you're actually right, the Poise man, the boys man.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
You can't teach that. No, you can't teach.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
And that's something that I want to chime in on too,
because I feel like that's something that we've been praising
them about all year. And one of the things I
said one of my keys to us down the stretch
of games, coming off the by what I wanted to
see is our young quarterback being a guy that we
saw earlier this year being vital in the run game
with his legs, getting us out of trouble with his legs,
and that he did just that, and to come off

(09:15):
the bye week and be able to be that special,
you know, in a familiar environment, you know, on that turf,
that fast surface in New Orleans, it was great to
see it. And that's what I say going forward, We're
gonna need teams that because you know, especially playing against
the team that we're gonna be facing, you know this week,
when those teams are you know home, then on what
you do run wise, you need that extra element in
your quarterback threat. His threat alone gives us a little

(09:38):
more freedom and might give you know, b Robb or
whoever you know back there. Uh, some yardists that want
to be naturally there because of how they plan us.
So I'm glad that he showed us. I'm back. I'm back,
I'm fresh. My arm was live, you.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Know, yeah, clarity. Just as as you all were talking,
I thought about I got to give out one more,
the one more, got one more. The man shout out
to the Fox broadcast crew, bile put big flesh on
the camera, put his face on the camera. I told
her the camera looks. Shout it out.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
In relation to Bobby Wagner getting closer to you know,
I'm right now. Ray Lewis is first and all time
tackles of twenty and fifty nine, I'm second two thousand
and thirty nine. Junior say our eighteen hundred and forty seven,
and Bobby Wagner's fourth eighteen with eighteen hundred and ten.
So yeah, they keep giving your voice a lot, Bobby,

(10:35):
keeping me up, keep relevant.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
You know. I was at the radio booth, broadcast booth.
But they say, you know, let's put that face on camera.
You know what. I'm glad. I'm glad they put big
FLEs get to talk. I say, you know, because you
always talk like that.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
I say, it's one thing when you do it every day.
There's not the thing when you barely do it. So
but I'm glad they want to mention my daughter.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Just put that down yellow jacket on it. Look, that's
what you do. Two out of the top three already
the Hall of Fame. Hey, I spoke about that.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
I say, now you mean to tell me you got
the audacity to put his name up here with Hall
of Famers. And then a guy who is the saying
is a shoeing and Bobby yellowjacket himself.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
So why ain't London He's gonna be yellowjacket.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
He's gonna try surf. He's just showing you.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
They're getting there.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
They got that. It's tough for you to take over.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Oh yeah, it's drive Time.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Drive Time with number eight nine, presented by Easton Automotive Crew,
Any car anyway for everyone since nineteen eighty eight. All right,
fellas drive time. What we're gonna talk about today? You
know we just mentioned it. Marshawan playing his first game's
debut and it's odd man like, I can't imagine the

(11:49):
pressure or the nerves of knowing that your first game
with your new team it's against your old team, and
in the same year that you just got traded in
the middle of the season. So you still got a crew, bro,
You still at the house. Everybody in that building still
has that love for you. And just knowing that, I
know he was eager to be cause I know for myself,

(12:10):
I'm gonna ask you, guys, when I got a chance
up in against as a Red Skin. When I first
got here, I was so eager to go out there
kind of night.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Not so much prove.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
I hate using that word prove because it's nobody to
really prove nothing to You got to do that, you know,
within yourself. But I wanted but I wanted to show
them that they was right, you know what I mean, Like,
you know what, man, I thank you for having me here,
but I want to show you guys that you got
the right guy. So I can imagine he had some
of that going on in his head. It is probably
gonna have that going on his head for the rest
of his career or the rest of this year. I

(12:40):
say that, But how about you guysself, Like, what was
it like your first game as a Skin?

Speaker 1 (12:46):
A man, it was awesome, I can remember I had
this is my first opportunity playing in the big market,
so I played in the small market and Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yeah, Buffalo Saint Louis, both two.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Small markets coming in and coming to Washington and I,
and I've shared this on many several occasions, I took
great pride in representing the Burging and Gold guys who
played in what you form before I did so.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
And also I took a.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Great responsibility and making sure I wasn't considered a free
agent bust because.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
In the years prior.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
D Dad Snyder in that regime, they were hired guys.
I mean, they bring guys in and did work out
as as a free agents. Some of them did. Yeah, yeah,
but you you were one of the rare ones, and
and myself as well. So I wanted to go out like, man,
y'all gonna look at me as a bargain. I remember
the game played the Dolphins here, end up Smooth dropped

(13:42):
the pick that could have won it for some revelation,
end up going overtime.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
He gonna dig London had more interceptions in French Smooth,
so that box the gun. But I remember, defensively, man,
we was on it.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
They had the Cadillac Williams or Rodney maybe Rodney Brown,
Rodney Broll.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
So yeah, we were.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
We were all the defensively, So I definitely remember that
debut coming out here, stadium packed. We were still over
ninety thousand back then.

Speaker 6 (14:16):
For me, man, it was it was one coming to Washington,
the same thing right coming in free agent, but it
was a little different because they had a little controversy
with another number twenty four, kind named Champ Bailey. So
Champ was traded for CP. But everybody was like, we
lost Champ Bayley, we got this and it was like,
you know, who is this guy?

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
On the West coast, I was known. I was making
plays and stuff like that. But on the East Coast,
it was like a lot of fans may have you know,
forgotten Obouma. They knew from Ohio state and everything like that.
For me, coming back to Washington was one that was
coming home. Yeah, So that was it was a big
deal because I kind of I grew up in this
area and I had the familiarity with the organization because

(14:59):
all my friends in the community everybody commanders Redskins fans,
but also because my dad played against him. And the
other thing that was interesting is they had traded TP
for Champ Bailey. I'm wearing twenty four replacing the.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
Guy who put together.

Speaker 6 (15:15):
I'm wearing twenty four replacing Champ. You know, champions, going
Pro Bowl out, the Pro Bowl out, and I'm doing
my thing on the West coast right, And so I
didn't know if people knew, Like, so I'm like you learning,
I can't be no, no, so.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Definitely can't be a but coming home. Yeah, I'm coming
home replacing Champ.

Speaker 6 (15:35):
I got smooth on the other side, so you know,
I hear in my ear, you know. But Washington historically,
we've always had great history of corners too. Yeah, and
then coach Doug Green smooth Champ Dion was here as
a free agent and I played for coach Gibbs. I
was coach gives first free agent. So I was just like, man,

(15:55):
there's a lot of pressure, you know. So it was
like I got I got to do my thing here
and it was a great season. I remember that first
game against Tampa because we had a rough camp that year.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
But I'll never forget.

Speaker 6 (16:05):
Man, we played Tampa and all I remember is like
we were physical on defense. I just remember Ceep just
putting the team on his back. I think his first carry,
he first like sixty seventy yards boom, and our defense
was all over them. But I just remember that debut
on Washington. We can talk more about what with a
lot of more problems going through when he was in

(16:28):
New Orleans. You know what I'm saying, you know what.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
You yeah, I mean, well, you know, you know I mentioned,
you know, just the whole My first game was against Chicago,
I believe, you know. And it's crazy because if everybody
remember my twenty two thousand and five season, that's one
of the best, you know, all time, best seasons from
a receiver in this franchise. You said the record, Yeah,

(16:51):
my first year here. But it didn't you know, it
didn't go as our plan. You know, all all off season,
you know, OTAs I'm out there with Patrick Ramsey and
we go out there in the game the first game
of the year, Patrick Ramsey can take three snaps where
you get hurt and then all I walk in my guy,
you know Mark, Mark, you know, I'm Mark coming that thing,
Mark Brunell coming that thing and willing and doing that thing.

(17:13):
You hit me, and so now you got to adjust.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
You're talking about adjusting on the fly. Is a difference.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
I didn't catch a pass from Mark the whole off season.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Is that a big difference tho left and right. It
depends on who you are. I actually like catching from
left handers. For some reason, it felt different. It curved
into me differently, you know what I mean. And it's
crazy because I got a chance to do that from
a couple of different ones.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
And always the same outcome and then when But the thing.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
That's different if if you get a left hander that okay, damn,
I love this ball, and then you go to a
writing and he did everything hot. So now that spin
off the how how hard is coming?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (17:51):
So yeah, it's a lot of that stuff, okay, and
plays a role on how you you know, you know
how that production is. But I just remember having like
ninety yards. That game was my first game, you know,
in in fed X, I had ninety yards. I believe
that was the Chicago Chicago. We had ninety yards. We
ended up beating them mistaking six zip to your field
goals and it was crazy because the next week was

(18:15):
the Money Night Miracle, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
So it was kind of like, damn.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
Tanna, you went from having a ninety a nice, a
nice introduction to the to the d m V with
ninety yards and then you go out of shebang, shebang,
you know what I'm saying. But yeah, but it was
it was special not to get long winning on that.
What do you guys remember, you know, we got the
Eagles coming to Northwest and not long that we no
longer call it fed X. We got the Eagles coming

(18:39):
to Northwest Stadium.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
What do you remember though about the matchups that we
had in fed X against these same Eagles.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Oh? Man, I've had some.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Good memories good Yeah, yeah, some good Man, we ain't
talking about talking about the good.

Speaker 6 (18:57):
Well can I can I start off by saying, for
the most part, any read teams, when I played with
just so well coached coach like Kansas City today, Yeah, yeah,
they were, they were. They were so well coached. Again,
they didn't have like I was saying, that receiver U
till they got t O. But it seemed like, and
none of you can probably speak on it, it seemed

(19:18):
like they did a lot of things that attack your person.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
They just did a lot of things that attacked your.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Person, especially in the beginning of the game their first fifteen. Man,
you're gonna get a bunch of different personnel. Yess man,
A bunch of different formations. Your communication. As a defense,
you had to be on point because they were gonna
have They might have wide receivers lined up in the
backfield ship right all the way outside of the number
one receiver. So if you're playing man the man defense,

(19:46):
you had to make sure you fire your many. They
can go no huddle on you, they can go. They're
gonna hit you with some screens, some trick plays, some
draw a bunch of different things. And this all happened
within the first fifteen man snaps of the game.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
You had to be on.

Speaker 6 (19:59):
Top, and I felt like so for me, I felt
like they were well coached. I felt that they played fast.
I was I was kind of used to the system
a little bit because because coach was under Mike homegrown.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Yeah, the West Coast like West Coast.

Speaker 6 (20:16):
But another thing though, is is like I hated them,
Like I hated Philly more than anybody.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Like I know people have the Giants and the Cowboys.
I hated Philly. I just it was something my feeling
that rubbed me the wrong way. Even at home. I
just wanted to beat them the home. I always like.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Going against Philly and it was because it guess probably
because of the West Coast offense.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
I always had really good games.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
And fall sometimes great games against I just again because
of the just the way the office they don't have,
they don't have really good running backs.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
They were gonna get the ball to them multiple different ways.
They're like you said, the receiving.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Court wasn't great, So it wasn't like you had to
worry about something receivers when they got t Yo, you know,
in terms of he He's gonna be the focal point
of offense. A lot of it was the tight ends
and the running backs. Man, they were gonna they were
gonna get a lot of Players's gonna be a lot
of players, run a lot of scriptings, So I was
gonna have a lot of opportunities to make plays. And
so I I really enjoyed going against the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Yeah, I never really eat the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
Was never one of those teams that I kind of
I can't I don't like to say feared, but worried about.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Yeah, even though they was always great, you.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Know, I mean, it was always a fun game going
against them. Like I've had worse the games against the
Giants and the Cowboys, but the Eagles is always like
good on good like you you was going they was
gonna go out there and play hard, nose and tough.
And you remember coach Gibbs, his his mentality was tough.
You know, the way you win in this league, the
way you win this division.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Tough. Got hit it with.

Speaker 7 (21:48):
All.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Remember all that stuff that.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
Covered that about giving the knuckle sandwich, man, I knew
one thing, Like when facing those Eagles.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
I remember my first matchup.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
CP wanted all the way I socks a certain way,
and I'm sitting there like he gave Sean, and Sean
did it, and I'm like, bro, I ain't getting fine.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
For you guys. Man.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
I'm I rock especially I'm a superstitious dude, So I'm
a rock mind the way I'm comfortable in the way
I've been doing things.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
But we all had a good game.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Then I believe he beat them that year at home,
and then we ended up beating them, I believe on Chris,
I mean New Year's Day in Philly, y'all wasn't here yet,
but we ended up playing them the last game of
the season in Philly to go to the playoffs. We
end up beating them in a nice fashion. Sean about
that that little dive and the end when he picked
up before he wasn't I know bluefood was there. But yeah,

(22:38):
I love our matchups against Philly Man. They've always been
a tough team. They've always been hard nosed. They've always
been the team to me that we didn't give a
lot of credit to in our division because they talked
so much at nauseam about the damn Cowboys. I feel
like the Eagles and Giants always snuck under the radar,
and the Giants ended up getting two super bowls from it,

(23:00):
and the Eagles end up, you know, after we've been
you know, retired, now got their chance to go back
to back in one one. But yeah, been a tough team.
Loved our matchups, you know, fed X and I think
it's it's something that I'm always looked forward to, even
now sitting here, you know, calling you know, you know, uh,
broadcasting with the team, just watching these guys play, because
I feel like, if you want to be you know,

(23:22):
quite frankly, I think we play better against these guys. Like,
no matter how good that is, our team seem to match.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
Up pretty well against them.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Oh yeah, and when we come back, we'll be previewing
this matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Man got him a home. Now they got it at.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Hall with a lot healthier that the game we played
about Thursday night. We were banged up growth and it's
a short week, short week, man, looking at this game
under this like we we won nine games. Shout out
to coach Quinn too. Yeah, the first first head coach
to have a winning record or you know, he's done something.

(26:11):
He's done some great things for in his first year here,
and uh in Washington, I think guess him and George
Allen or the only two that had a winning record
their first season.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Yeah, first season in Washington. Big game fellas what you
expecting this game against the Eagles?

Speaker 6 (26:27):
Well, I like, you know, coming off of buy and
talking to coach Quinn coach what you hear him talking about?

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Want bodies around the ball.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
Yeah, reckless abandonment, you know, physical, physical football. I don't
think you can beat this ego team without that type
of mentality, relentless pursuit of just violence and getting after
the ball. And you know so coming off the bye,
I think the team is look fresh, to look healthy.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
This though, big big thing. We got to deal with
Kuon Barkley with that.

Speaker 6 (27:02):
That's but doesn't scare me as much as an animal animal.
The Eagles defense has been impressed.

Speaker 9 (27:13):
Oh my god, Jalen the Eagles defense, Jalen Carter is
a force to be wrecking where And you know who
woke him up?

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Did you?

Speaker 4 (27:25):
I don't know who was.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
He reminded me of a teammate.

Speaker 6 (27:28):
He kind of reminded me of a teammate that me
and London both had that like when he decided to
wake up his potential was a guy named Sam Adams.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
He was big Sam was and Jalen Carter is like that.

Speaker 6 (27:39):
So it's like trying to run the ball on the
Eagles and trying to like all the buck stops there.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
So I'm interested to see how Line and I run
game handles Tayler, did you dude Clint Hurt?

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Yeah, Clint Hurt when so he's the Eagles defensive line coach.
I don't even know he was. He was, he the
defensive coordinator last year. He's the Eagles defensive line coach.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
Big Hurt doing his thing.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
It must be him.

Speaker 6 (28:08):
Yeah, And I mean in the second Dary with their
their their picture and you know they just got they fast,
their their physical upfront.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
The offensive line is massive.

Speaker 6 (28:19):
With all that being said, I think the game that
we played on the shrut week, it got out of
the hand late in the fourth, but we were in
that game.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
We was you know, we get that, we get that,
we get that, we get that fourth and too with
j yeah, you know we gave.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
It's a different ball.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
But I also believe too, you know, last time we
saw these guys, like I said, it was big on
our part offensively that we didn't match our defensive energy.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (28:46):
We wanted.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
We weren't playing comproment in football, Like when you have
a team that that was good as the Eagles, that
the run game came in on a high and our team,
know I'm talking about I'm just talking. Yeah, I understand
all that, but I'm just talking about, like our defense
was able to go out then slow down, contain say
quantum for the most part of that game, and it
just got tired.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
For a quarter.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
It was like, you know, as soon as we made
that one miscue, when we got that turnover, because we
still had it, we still had a chance to be
in the game, but that turnover said it change the momentum,
shifted everything.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
This shift and then now.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
You hear quant like three or two different you know,
big big runs. But thinking about this game and I'm
you know, I look at it like this, man, you know,
we at the state right now where somebody asked me
this question earlier, like it's a a big test.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
It's no more tests, it's.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
No more tests. It's either you got it or you don't.
At this point, at this point.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
You got it or you don't. Game like this is
about how bad you want it, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
We can sit here and talk.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
About all the extras and those all of this is
what we didn't have. Man, it's what you want. Do
you want to win or.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
How you play that day? That day too?

Speaker 4 (29:56):
Man, Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Yeah, going to Jalen Carter, you mentioned him, Yeah, as
you as you went back and you look at that
game against the Eagles the first time. We got to
have a better plan to deal with him. Yeah, it's
just flat out there, There no other way to say.
We got to have a better plan for him. He
disrupted everything that Yeah, we couldn't block him in the

(30:20):
run game, couldn't block him.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
In the past.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
We have to have a better plan against him.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Offensively. It wasn't our best performance.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
We were banged up, banged up on a short week,
so obviously having guys healthier will be a difference in
that game, playing him at home, So I'm looking forward
to that. But that playing against him, and I'm gonna
be watching that closely.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
Well, I felt like I felt like we tried to
duo whole team. But the thing that was, I mean,
he was.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Just one hand on one guy to get three.

Speaker 6 (30:59):
All The man, question is that where you kind of
do misdirections like how do you slow a guy down
like that?

Speaker 3 (31:06):
So, I mean, I'm glad you asked London, but I
want to I want to chime in on that temple
offensive temple with like, Harriet, you ain't finna get set,
We're finna get back on this ball and sideline the sideline.
You got to get them big jokers running. You can't,
you can't go at the fast. Ain't the words?

Speaker 2 (31:23):
How long can you? Good point? Because he played the
entire game.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
Yeah, that's how long can you keep it up?

Speaker 1 (31:30):
Flip side though, defensively, we got Marshawn Latimore before this
game that the Eagles they got their passing game.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Going this past weekend. Get it out, uh jayalen Hurst,
that A J. Brown. They seemed like they were on
the same target, same page. De Monte Smith.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Those guys both went for over one hundred yards this
past game against the Steelers, which has a really good defense.
How does the impact of Marshall Lattimore helping this game
against the Philadelphia Well, first.

Speaker 6 (32:00):
Of all, when you talk about his impact this last week,
he ain't getting no targets, So that's respect and.

Speaker 4 (32:06):
They ain't gonna be every week.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
But that ain't gonna be every week.

Speaker 6 (32:09):
But the fact is, he coming off hamstring, went to
New Orleans a no target. I suspect he will get
some targets this week. They're gonna try. But when we
made the decision to trade for him, I was like,
this is for the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
This is for a j. Brown, this is for Jefferson,
this is for you.

Speaker 6 (32:25):
Know, uh uh, this is for playoff football. This his
impact now because we know Mike and you interviewed the
matter the game Cinstrue. He's coming into his owners a rookie.
We like the way our secondary is playing, you know,
as we need We're gonna need Kum back this week,
but the way our guys are playing in the back end,

(32:47):
I think in his presence, giving that number one guy
and the way the rookie stepped up, I'm very confident
the way our secondary and what we can do. And
I felt great about the way our defense played him
last last last time.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
I think I think one of the things to stand
out to me, and that's just from my perspective being
a receiver and just knowing what I felt like we
couldn't do at times this year, from the from the
from our secondary, is now you got a true outside
guy that can be like, you know what, this is
my side of the field.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
I got this coach.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
And now with that being said, Joe Whitten now can
basically dictate to you what he want to do everywhere else.
Now I can bring a man inside. I can do
I can play four over here, two over here. You know,
I can play different coverages. That's going to allow now,
you know, shut down the one guy to guy that
you might want, and then now make you beat me
with these other guys. And I got coverage on these guys.
You see what I'm saying. So that's the leverage we

(33:38):
have now going into these games. And it's great is
at the perfect time knowing what we're facing against. You know,
AJ Brown to me arguably you know in sa quand two,
but arguably one of the better receivers in the lead
the entire lead, AJ Brown, and then that number six
on the side that can that can take the top
off of anybody defense, you know what I mean. So
now it's going to be interesting going forward to Box.
It's how we do things.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Yeah, he impacts the run game too in the box
A lot of times in that game we're playing a
lot of two ship down, playing a lot of split
safeties from the from the snap because you didn't want
to get hurt so much in the passing game. And
it was almost like a bend, don't breakdown mentality. As
they got closer to our red zone. Now we can

(34:20):
tighten down, we can play a little bit more a
man eight in the.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Box step coverages. Uh Samon. Still, he did a really
good job.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
They tested him a couple of times in the in
the red zone trying to get him touchdowns. He did
a great job. I don't know. But because he played
that way, I don't know that Joe Witt Junior and
those guys going to this game thinking hey, we have
to have Marshawn's shadow.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
I think they're earned the right to stay on their side. Yeah, yeah,
exactly so that but I.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
Think about this, it might not even be shadows. Sometimes
it's a body matchup fit. But I get the body
match up. But when they tried Mikey, he held up
against both.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Those He played well. Yeah, he held up against both.
Saint Jus did too.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
They all played well last time we faced these guys
in the secondary. So it might not be nothing for
us to got dog on go out there and change.
You know, she's having a new body there that can
really hold his own.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Great. Saint just did play good. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (35:21):
Saint just was on it.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
So you know it might not be something. You know
how they said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
But having twenty three there is always great.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
You know. I got till we got to touch on this.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
To go back to the offense for a second last
week against the New Orleans Saints, Cliff Kingsbury in the
offense did something they had been doing a lot of.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
They moved Terry right. Yeah. Yeah, he was in a
lot of different places. They had him in motion.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
They created ways to get him opportunities to end up
with ten targets. That might have been his most targets
of the season.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
The first game we played against the Field of Death Eagles,
Terry only had one target catch. He had no catches,
ain't one catch for ten yards, but it wasn't a
lot of targets. Targets, one catch for ten yards, but
here hen't have an impact on the game. He was
always on the left side. And they left that game

(36:19):
about the raven, about the rookie Carter.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
He didn't have man.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
Yeah, he didn't even.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
He wasn't challenged though either. Yeah, that much better game
plan off. I figure, well, they gonna get Terry matched
up and gets a bunch.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
And then they got to get him involved.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
Really two, I think that just shows you that's the
recipe for what we've been doing successfully. That's far that
game before we got into the buying the game come
off to buy. When you get this man going early,
it's no secret to what we do as a whole
as a team, you know. I mean, he ignites everybody
to go out there because Terry is one of those
guys well deserving of some of the things that he's
been getting. And you got to pay a guy back

(36:54):
for all the hard work he put in and go
out and get him involved. So we got to make
sure we see that early in all.

Speaker 6 (37:00):
Then you know this week you said, coming off to Buy,
you wanted to see jail and use his legs.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
He didn't use. He didn't run against Philly, he was still.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
So I like that too was predicated to how Philly
played him like they was not giving that up. They
was man the way they played And then we didn't
have a b rob to be a threat.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
He was banged up there. He was that.

Speaker 4 (37:23):
I knew it was something he had just got back there.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
It was having having a threat knowing that, Okay, we
stopping a running period. You can't run, so we ain't
worried about your other guy running.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (37:32):
I just feel like now with both of those guys
having a clean bill of health and knowing what we
saw from you guys, so right now we get a
chance of watching on tape.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
Here's something else that I think on a US well,
we didn't think about this as it was happening. The
offense wasn't particularly sharp against the New Orleans Saints. Didn't
play well. We got out of there with a victory.
We all been in the games or situations where we
don't play well. That next week of practice, man like

(38:01):
you lock in you you can't wait to get back
out there to play much better football. So I think
that we will benefit from having a performance up media
performance well and having a full healthy line back.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
I'm I'm talking about against the Saints.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Though you're having a subpar mediocre performance against the Saints
from an offensive standpoint, collectively, like okay, we're gonna we're
gonna get out there on yeah, this week of practice,
and that's how that carry over. We got to talk
about the playoffs, fellas. Look at this man at the NFC.
It's tight, dude. Yeah, we got too.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
We got the think about this and division leaders right now.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
Lions at twelve and two, Eagles at twelve and two,
Bucks eight and six, rounds A six, they're the Vikings.
They twelve and two as well. Nobody even talks about
the Minnesota vice.

Speaker 6 (38:53):
Potential m VP candidate Sam Donald to know, I've been
I've been talking about them.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
I mean the defense, the MVP, all right, man, he
y're the kid and man potential potential.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
I mean he's up there with playing some good football.
You give give a lot of credit to that defense.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
Man. Get enough recognition that Packers tend and for it.
Then you got the Washington and Baddess Yeah nine at
five card team, that wild card and thet Yeah, Seattle
a game behind as the foalcush.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
We got Cowboys really still alive.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
Yea yeah, man, both things can be true. That's that's
you can be sorry.

Speaker 4 (39:28):
It's the line.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
Carlos, Carlos, boys, how do y'all.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
How y'all see the state playing out? You know what?

Speaker 3 (39:38):
And you know that's why I don't even want to
even get to this because I hate talking about this stuff.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
Well that's not even know.

Speaker 6 (39:42):
I love talking about We need to talk about you
know what, field, Let's just focus on this week.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
Yeah, what's it going to look like after this week?
What's it going to look like? I crossed that bridge?

Speaker 4 (39:53):
When I crossed that bridge, That's how I feel.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
We're going to cross the bridge after this.

Speaker 9 (39:58):
You know, I want to be crossing and on that
I'm coursing it well, person to play.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
This is a playoff game for both teams.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
So I feel like all these games built, these last
four games with playoff games every week, every week is
a week.

Speaker 4 (40:12):
That we got to look at it like this is
a playoff game.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
We did.

Speaker 3 (40:14):
We earned the right to talk about this, We aren
the right to get closer to being one of those
teams that's in.

Speaker 6 (40:20):
They look it's almost like you gotta get you gotta
get eleven wins to make the playoffs level securit, Yeah,
ensure that you're in there.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
Maybe ten if you get the right ten, the right ten,
you gotta you gotta get the right ten.

Speaker 6 (40:36):
Well there, okay, okay, we're gonna do that.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
Here's the thing, I know, the way d Q talks,
He's like, Hey, the only fight we're gonna worry about
is the one we're in.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
That's right. So the fight that we're in, it's.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Gonna be against the Philadelphia Eagles. The division is not
wrapped up. Philly would have to have an epic collapse.
But we still have an opportunity.

Speaker 2 (41:00):
To win the division.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
And you also need to, Hey, you want to prove
to the egos, say we can beat y'all.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
You know we beat y'all.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
We know on paper, you know, you guys are you
know their favorite here coming in here, But on paper
their favorite to be you know, we're not talking about
the player, but their favored to be one of the
team's reps in the NFC East, NFC in the Super Bowl. Yeah,
so all right, we got opportunity, man, get an opportunity
is a real opportunity. All right, fellas, man, we go,

(41:30):
We're gonna have some fun. I know it's gonna be
a great time out of Northwest Stadium this weekend, but
it's time to get into some fan questions.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
Yeah, man. Yeah, shout out to the fan. Our producers matter.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
She asked me to put up on my Twitter account,
my social media.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
Hey, flet's put this out there.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
So we're gonna get some fair questions and we're gonna
ask them answer these questions. Here's a this is from
f P this is from at PFF command. There's big
Fan London. My quest is, with the emergence of Marshan Lattimore, well,
the DB's on the field matchup dependent?

Speaker 2 (42:05):
Will be matchup dependent?

Speaker 1 (42:07):
Or should we expect to see Latimar and Sam Still
and nor Uh Noigbinoghany at the at Nickel the majority
of time? So but he said basically saying, is it
gonna be a situation where you talked about bodies, It's
gonna be baby Saint Jews plays a little bit more
and it's all matchup dependent. Or is it gonna be
just like the game against the Saints, whereas nogg Bnogne
in the slot, Mikey and uh and Marshan on the corner.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
What do you what do you?

Speaker 6 (42:31):
I think I think if I think what we saw
last week is a secondary that can take you over
the next four weeks and to win the games I
don't think we we We've been what you.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
Say saying, if it ain't broke, don't try.

Speaker 3 (42:43):
If it ain't broken, on fix it. But I think
it's to be determined too. At the same time, we
don't know what they might want to show a look,
you know, different looks here and there, or who might
need to come out. But I do believe that what
you saw those three guys are probably our best three options.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
Now.

Speaker 3 (42:58):
One of the things that we've done well is we
brought god we sub guys. So if you if you
have a package where you want to say, Okay, let's
bring in Saint Jus for this particular package for something
that we need him to do that he've shown them
that he can do well.

Speaker 4 (43:10):
Didn't do that, you know.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
But it's all about just going out there with the
best best men on the field.

Speaker 2 (43:14):
We have the depth of flexibilities right. The one thing Joe,
what Jr.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
Has talked about is each week we're gonna put the
guys on the field that we feel give us the best.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
Chance to win that matter.

Speaker 1 (43:26):
And last week it could have been that was the
combination that we felt gave us best. This particular week,
it could be, Hey, you know, what We're gonna have
some situation where it's gonna be Saint Jose, it's gonna
be uh, you know, whether it's a Marshan on the
outside and bring in, bring Mikey to the slot there.
Maybe it'll be situational things.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
So we don't know. It remains to be seen.

Speaker 10 (45:20):
Nick, absolutely appreciate you. Guys.

Speaker 2 (45:22):
Man, first season in the Burgundy go. What's it been
like for you? Man?

Speaker 10 (45:27):
It's been pretty cool.

Speaker 7 (45:27):
I remember just right when I showed up and signed,
looking out the you know the windows in the back
of those offices. It's like you're watching the the NFL films,
all those that you watch, like those are the fields
you see? Yeah, you know out in case.

Speaker 10 (45:42):
He was cool.

Speaker 7 (45:42):
Love that place, this place that's been here forty plus
years now, you feel the the history.

Speaker 10 (45:49):
It's it's been really cool to be a part of, you.

Speaker 3 (45:50):
Know, speaking of being coming from KC, got a chance
to be a part of some great experiences, man winning
super Bowls. What is it like that transition of saying, Okay,
I'm leaving a place where I had a much a
great success and knowing you coming to a franchise that's
trying to just.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Get a taste of what you guys just experience.

Speaker 7 (46:11):
Uh yeah, I mean that was that was an interesting
decision because love Casey, love the guys there, the program,
it was awesome, It was home for my family. But
you know, I wanted a chance to come in and
earn a starting role in the starting roll week one
and give myself that chance. And you know, it's an
opportunity I had to take. And talking with d Q,
the program him and AP wanted to set up, it

(46:33):
was an incredible opportunity to had to take that chance.

Speaker 6 (46:37):
And obviously being in Casey when now you're here, but
you played with a great quarterback and we believe we
got a great quarterback here. Tell me some of the
similarities you see between you know and obviously yeah, Patrick, Patrick,
but those qualities and Patrick's that maybe or what qualities
do you see in Jason Jay and I guess.

Speaker 7 (46:58):
I think the composure is the biggest thing that I see.
He doesn't get rattled. You know, it's a hard game.
That all know that it's a hard game. There's gonna
be a lot of ups and downs. And he stays
really really even doesn't get too high, it doesn't get
too low. And I love that about him. And then
the you see me, know, screwing around with the basketball.

(47:19):
I think that's like it's a subtle thing, but just
it's his athleticism. Pat was big with that. Heat was
a baseball guy. I loved basketball, just being a being
an athlete and then also being a quarterback. Yeah, I
think he takes a lot of those other sports onto
the field and it's why you see a lot of
a lot of defenders look lost time.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
It's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (47:40):
He nick for for you guys, man, I say, it
all starts with the offensive line.

Speaker 2 (47:45):
How do you guys go?

Speaker 1 (47:46):
That's kind of how the team goes this season. You
come over, Tyler Battis joins Is from the Dallas Coyle Boys.
We got Brandon Coleman rookie. You know you play next
to him Andrew Wiley, who you play within Kasas City.

Speaker 2 (48:01):
How have you guys and then you got.

Speaker 1 (48:03):
Sam Cosman who had who's the long holdover on this
on this officive line, how have you guys been able
to jail so quickly?

Speaker 2 (48:09):
And what's that?

Speaker 1 (48:10):
What's the bonding experience? Like, I know you guys have
to be the closest on the team.

Speaker 10 (48:15):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 7 (48:15):
It's always offensive line groups are always interesting, the dynamic,
and it was interesting this year having a lot of
older guys that have you know, played a lot of
football that having a rook who I mean came in
playing top three hardest position in this court, but as
a rookie doing a hell of a job. But just
you know, o line dinners going to some baseball games

(48:37):
over the summer, just kind of not forcing them, but
just making sure you spend time with each other.

Speaker 2 (48:43):
Because you brotherhood.

Speaker 10 (48:45):
Brother Yeah we hear, we hear.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
Everybody everybody brotherhood.

Speaker 7 (48:49):
You have to be able to trust the dude next
to you for so many different reasons. So just spending
time with each other, getting to know what they love
and like off the field, what their families like.

Speaker 10 (48:58):
So it's been pretty cool.

Speaker 7 (48:59):
OG's giving us a good shot to you know, show
our personalities and you know, give our opinions in the room.
So I've enjoyed this year.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
You know.

Speaker 3 (49:06):
You know one of the things that you talked about
just the brotherhood it self. You know that speaks for itself.
You can see it, and you guys play, you can
see it. And just how this team has jailed as
a whole. I think one of the questions I want
to ask you just, you know, pertaining to having two
young guys, two rookies, and basically one on the line
and one in the backfield with you as far as
the quarterback, two of the most key positions on our offense.

(49:29):
What is it like, you know, getting them guys caught
up the speed? And is it fair to say that
both of them have been playing above the expectancy of
what you know, we thought they should be playing at
this time in their career.

Speaker 7 (49:41):
I mean absolutely. And one first of all, you see
a lot of quarterbacks take this first year. It's kind
of a redsher year. A lot of times guys don't
step in right away. It was pretty easy to see
early with Jay that he was going to be the guy.
Marcus has been awesome for him as well. You know,
having a guy like that for a rookie quarterback, I
think is huge. But yeah, I mean they've both been

(50:01):
you know, playing at that level in this game as
rookies is something. I mean, I didn't play much my rookieyear.
I know a lot of guys you don't have a
lot of time. So being able to do what they've
done has been awesome. And then watching you know, obviously
I watched Jayden a Ton, but yeah, the quarterback came up.

Speaker 10 (50:19):
I don't exactly know what's going.

Speaker 7 (50:20):
On, but you know, watching the growth has been cool,
you know, and watching uh, you know, watching J and
BC pick up different things week to week. BC starting
to try a few things with some you know, hand flashes,
hand traps. It's pretty cool to see them growing quickly
at a young age.

Speaker 4 (50:37):
And growing together too.

Speaker 10 (50:38):
Absolutely because the left tackle quarterback.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
Those are because you need you.

Speaker 10 (50:42):
Absolutely, Yeah, crucial.

Speaker 6 (50:44):
All right, we're talking about this on the Instagram Avid
coin collective.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
Teach me to gain what's going on? Yes, I've been
talking about bitcoin.

Speaker 10 (50:56):
We talk about about real Yeah.

Speaker 7 (50:58):
I started collecting probably when I was about twelve thirteen,
really started collecting way younger. You could find little wheat
pennies and change, so nineteen fifty eight. But before we
had little wheat stocks on the back of pennies and
you could just find them in every day change. They
worked like two or three cents, so I found if
I would find one in change, I'd be like, hell yeah,
if this pennies worked double, I just made.

Speaker 6 (51:19):
Money the year like nineteen eighty three, and this is
something's wrong with it?

Speaker 2 (51:25):
What do you fact check this stuff at? Though?

Speaker 4 (51:26):
Like, what do you the whole.

Speaker 10 (51:28):
Walked into a coin store.

Speaker 7 (51:29):
We had me and my buddy had to sell a
collection for his grandfather who passed away, and the guy
noticed I was interested, so we talked me through a
lot of stuff, and then he gave me a magazine.
Read the magazine, subscribe to it, and that I mean,
I'm still there is so much to learn.

Speaker 2 (51:43):
Wow, what age is this When you first d s
you say we were young.

Speaker 7 (51:47):
That was about twelve thirteen when I started when I
went to that coin store, and it's just it's my
hobby that nobody else in my family does, none of
my friends do, outside of obviously my friends I've made
in the coin industry. But I get to get away,
get away from football, get away from family, friends and
just go kind of nerd out over.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
So, yeah, Wow, what's the rarest coin that you have?

Speaker 7 (52:10):
I got an eighteen ninety three s Morgan silver dollars.
So it's the lowest mintage of the Morgan silver dollars series.

Speaker 10 (52:19):
You may not have.

Speaker 7 (52:19):
You probably don't know what a Morgan silver dollar is,
but it's probably Stanley.

Speaker 2 (52:23):
Is that the same thing as Morgan or something totally different, a.

Speaker 10 (52:25):
Little different, But.

Speaker 7 (52:28):
It's one of the best coins that we made the art,
you know, really really cool coin. So lowest mintage of that.
Got that for college graduation. But I went over the
other day at the Smithsonian and got a chance to
go look at some of the some of the stuff
they got.

Speaker 6 (52:43):
Yeah, I mean, and it is the process of like
how you store your coins, where you keep it.

Speaker 7 (52:49):
Yeah, so what you got, you you grade it from
different coin PCGS or n GC will grade it. They
put it in a slab. The grade's crucial. So anywhere
from zero to seventy is the grading scale, and then
it comes down to years where was mint So the
eighteen ninety three was made in San Francisco, so that's
big And the difference between eighteen ninety three you know,
Carson City and San Francisco is big. Carson City is

(53:11):
still a great mint, but San Francisco is the lowest
mintage of that year. So there are just so many
little details to know. But it's a cool it's a
cool place. I get to go nerd out.

Speaker 3 (53:20):
I was going to I was gonna jump the gun,
say how much is some of that stuff working?

Speaker 2 (53:22):
But I.

Speaker 7 (53:27):
Saw a coin at the Smithsonian the other day that
it wasn't the coin that was sold because it's this
one's not in circulation, but the one that is in
circulation sold for I think eighteen point six million I got.
I mean it was I couldn't couldn't touch it, but
it was right here.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
So you mean you can go find a five cent,
a two cent and my grandma's quick you had.

Speaker 1 (53:49):
You played in super Bowls, played at three but one
particularly super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
Your twin daughters were born that born. Oh wowow? What
was that experience? Like?

Speaker 9 (53:58):
Man?

Speaker 10 (53:59):
Crazy?

Speaker 7 (54:00):
I mean, my wife was in labor for a week
because they were they were early, they were twins, so
were they were trying to keep men as long as possible.
And I didn't sleep well all week and then finally Saturday, night,
took some melotone and went to sleep. Snoozed the first
twelve calls. Look over as my mother in law called me.
It was three thirty in the morning. Talk to my wife.

(54:21):
She said, hey, stay where we are, but they're coming.
An hour later, I had pictured my two daughters. So
that day was.

Speaker 4 (54:27):
I know you was ready to play some football.

Speaker 7 (54:29):
It was wild because there were you know, you're super motivated,
super excited, and then their wife is back at home,
He's back in Chicago. I'm out in Arizona, and then
I don't see him for the first two days we had.
There's no flights out. So it was one of the
most The emotional roller coaster that day was insane.

Speaker 2 (54:48):
Alright, wow, we're cool man with Nick.

Speaker 1 (54:50):
For all the guests that come on our show, we
had him sign a football man if you wouldn't mind
signing us side of that ball for us.
