Speaker 3 (01:10):
Man.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
You know, it's week eleven and we got the Dolphins
up here.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
They the home team, yeah, but we got the home
crown that followed us. So we're gonna talk big noise
about what we're gonna do this week.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Man.
Speaker 5 (01:19):
We get living up here in Spain.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Against the Dolphins, and you know what, like we do always,
we got to talk about our favorite memories because I'm
quite sure we all have made plays against these Dolphins.
Speaker 6 (01:28):
So we're gonna look back at some of our favorite memories.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
And guess what, man, we got a special guests on
the show, man, none other than our qb our fearless
leader right now, none other than Mariota marioda man gonna
be on the show exigning man.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
All right, man, fellas, it's time to get this show started.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Let's get it all right man.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
It's the first ever game day in Madrid, comand it's
a Dolphins playing that game.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
First NFL game in Madrid. Yep.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
I never had an opportunity playing in an international game. Yeah,
I know, Santana you playing one in the preseason, Blue
you played in one as well. What what does it
mean to be able to be here and playing this
uh be here for this game.
Speaker 6 (02:09):
For me, I think it's just unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
But we could be part of the organization, and us
who came with the organization can be part of us.
The expansion of the NFL, obviously coming to Madrid, being
in Spain, a new fan base. I think it's exciting
for our organization and the league. I mean, because they
know about soccer, what they call football football, and I'm
(02:33):
glad to really be able to show these fans what
it's all about.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
You know, it's big for I think for the league
as a whole. One of the things we've been doing
all season Loan is building up that I guess you
could say when it comes to just what we're trying
to do internationally, you know, you know.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
We've been growing the game.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
We've been everywhere, we've.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
Been brought in, you know, letting let letting Europe know
what we're about. And I'm pretty sure to say the
first time, you know, they had this experience. But I
think this year has been the first time you've seen
week after week after has been so.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Well somewhere, and they've been some good games over here,
great good games. I'll say this slow finished you know.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Not to cut you off flesh. It just it just
makes me wonder. You know, how far can they go
with this?
Speaker 3 (03:22):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (03:22):
Do we see a team out here one day?
Speaker 3 (03:25):
You know, I think it could be done because I.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Can see, I can see London, Berlin was not even
but dread. I think the only thing is you have
to you have to be careful on how far from
a travel standpoint, right, you know.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
But.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (03:46):
You see the l A or something right.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
London, I mean they played more games in London than
anywhere else. I'll say this, I've been looking forward to
this game ever since it was announced that we're going
to have an international game, knowing that I've never had
that in the international experience.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
I know.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
It was an opportunity for us as a former players
to really we can't do anything on the field, right,
but we can help grow the game being out here
amongst the public, you know, making sure we're connecting they're
connecting with us. We had opportunity to get interviewed by
some some local media here and I was impressed by
(04:23):
how those guys, how much they knew about our careers.
So it's gonna be out standing. Man, I'm excited Blue.
You played in the international game in London?
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yeah, what was what was that like? Man?
Speaker 2 (04:36):
It was actually was it was London And it was
crazy because the funny thing about it when they first
showed up to the game, everybody had like all different
type of jerseys at that time, right, and it was like,
obviously I was there with New England, so they had
a whole new Okay, I was with New England versus
our Tampa Bay, so there was a lot of TV
twelve jerseys, but they had like Lonch tailors, Walter Payton's. Yeah,
(04:57):
they were just fans of the sports. Game was going
back and one thing I noticed, Man, they didn't sit down.
They were cheering the whole time. So it was like, man,
these people are really into it. They loved the game.
And it was just like and you could tell afterwards
at the buses and everything, people wait for autographs and
different things. It was a great experience all week. Now
(05:18):
we knew it was all about business when we went there,
but it was just like it was a brush of
fresh air to go away from at that time Boston
over to London and just see how the world appreciates
the NFL.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Yeah, I mean we played in Tokyo and the long
trip a long flight. That was a long flight, but
also it was in the preseason and it was I
think it was it was perfect for us at that
particular time in the in our sport.
Speaker 5 (05:45):
It was in two thousand and three.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
So this thing about how far that was, you know,
and that goes that just goes to show you how
long we've been doing this, you understand, Like so this
game we've been throwing darts at you know, the europe Yeah,
like everyone all over the world like that, Man, this
is this I mean, And it's crazy because I was
just I was in Germany with the NFL in twenty
(06:08):
twenty two on a tour to different army bases doing
the Super Bowl, bringing cheer to them, bringing joy of
them supporting the Super Bowl, and we end up watching
the game with one of the bases, and I didn't understand.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
I didn't. I didn't know at the.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
Time that the game is the latest you know what
right over there. And I'm like, wow, people are really
up watching this game and this time of the morning,
right And what I found out is a lot of
them they have to go to work that day, next day.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
A lot of them was off.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
They didn't have to worry about coming on today, so
they got a free day to watch the game and
be able.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
To sleep in.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
So they give them the day all got the next day.
So that's what big What we gonna adopt that in America?
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Yeah? Man, when are we going to adopt that in
the States?
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Think what I'm saying a lot unspoken rules that nobody
goes work.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
Actually, you got to think about it.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
They're watching in that game at three four o'clock in
the morning. It was just it was just it was
a difference, man like to actually be over there.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
And experience it.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
But I can say this, man, I'm I'm I'm very
intrigued with just knowing that I'm over here now at
a different capacity, you know, being able to come over
here now, following this team, covering this team now and
not having to worry about the playing side of it.
You know, it gives me something to look forward to,
you know, just to go out there and you know,
(07:30):
enjoy the experience, enjoy some good football played by my
hometown team, you know, my Miami guy, and then watching.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
We don't want to play too good.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
That's just my hometown team. He's saying my favorite team.
I said my hometown exactly, So y'all know who I am.
I'm you know, burging in gold.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Baby.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Hey, that's a perfect transition to what we're about to
do now. Memories against the Dolphins. Tanner, you and I
both was in the NFC East. If you were drafted,
I mean AFC East. You were drafted by the New
York Jets. Spent three years over there. I played in
Buffalo for five seasons. The Dolphins was considered our our rival.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Blue.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
I know you you started out. I played it a
couple of times. You started your three You started your
career in AFC. Memories against the Dolphins.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
I know you. You got memories.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
Memories.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Man. It's crazy because my first year as a rookie,
I didn't play my first game until Week twelve. I
got hurt right out the gate. I got hurt in
training camp. I told my latteral moniscus on my left
left knee. And my first game that season was week twelve,
back at home in Miami. Yeah, like, how could you
(08:49):
kind of like, you know, scripping stripping any better?
Speaker 5 (08:53):
But unfortunately I wasn't sent.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
To them right.
Speaker 5 (08:56):
I was somebody else out there.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
I was out there trying to get I was the
one leg at most you know what I mean, I
don't know who I.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Was, but it didn't pan out the way I wanted
to be.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
That was my first game, so I actually got a
chance to play my first game against the Dolphins. My
first every NFL game was against the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
I did nothing. I did did the squad.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
But at the end of the day, uh, most of
my my years of playing them, man, I had to success.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
And I remember just going to some dB.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Talk about against Sam Madison past certain I mean Thomas
and uh Jason Taylor, them guys was man, look talk
about one of the best of the I mean defenses
or every level, A key guy that you can like
call out and say that was phenomenal at at what
they did at they position.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
I have some big days.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
I had a couple of games where I had one
hundred yards from touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
But you got to show off against your home Yeah,
team got so for me.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
My uh, my second year in the league. I know
it was my rookie in the league or second in
the league. We played I was in Seattle. We played
Miami in the playoffs, and it.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
Had a gout.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
That was that when they came to y'all, they came
to us.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
They came to us, and they had Damn Marino and
I was running my damn mouth talking crazy. Now one
of my favorite receivers that I ever had a set,
one of the most underrated guys with God named Tony
Martin Santantam.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
I remember that name.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
He was unbelievable, right, And I'm out there talking crazy
to Damn Marino and not know him better. Man, Damn
Marino lit me up in the thirty fourth court. I
set my mom welcome.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
They weren't that good. They won that game.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
It was a close game, but I just remember Damn Marino.
He was just throwing dots out there. If you ain't
putting no pressure on him, he was out there, still
had it arm, He's still doing it. But that was
my That was my moment of like, wow, it's getting real,
Damn Marino.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Baby.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah, man, I have I have a lot of memories
against the Dolphins, just having spent time in the NFC.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
I mean a f C East.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
I'm gonna start with a with a great memory, So
you know.
Speaker 6 (11:09):
I'm gonna start with a you had a wildcat win.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
So I'm first time I played the Dolphins, not first time,
first time I played him as a starter. It since
Saint Louis and they had this. They were talking junk
going into the coming into that game, right, and this
was old one. Were the greatest show on turf. I
forgot what our record was. But one of the defensive linemen,
(11:33):
I think it was Keith Trail or somebody like they're
gonna lock the they gonna lock the dome up and
do whatever they want to do with us and whatever,
talking jump yeah, the best offense. Yeah, And they had
this full back. I didn't like his body language on film.
He used to just think he was like this dog
had the curriculum type of stuff. Was that one of
(11:55):
them guys talking about they full back? Okay, So I'm like, man,
I can't wait to get my hands on him.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Oh, you want to show up with the big dogs.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Listen early in the game because he used to try
to do all that kind of extra stuff in flex.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
He tried to lead up on me.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Man, don't I don't hit him with a couple of
right left hooks, slam my body slammed him to the crowd.
I didn't got to digging his eyes out dirty. I
got a fifteen yard penalty for what that was about.
That was a message like y'all not gonna come into
our building to do anything against something.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
And I still put it work.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Had a pick in the end zone, also had a
force fumble in the red zone. But my my, the
game that's most memorable to me against the Dolphins. I'm
playing with the bells now my late wife. At this
point in time, we were off and on, off and
on in the relationship. At this point in time, she
had moved from Cleveland to Miami. We're doing an off stage,
(13:04):
but we go down there to play Miami. But we
go out to dinner, right, go out to the Olive Guard.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Spending.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
I had had, I had a routine. Okay, go to
the Olive Guard. I have a hell of a game.
I think I had like two sacks. I think a
sack safety, right, I don't know how many tackles, I
promise you, Man, during that game, after that balled, I'll say, man,
I'm about to marry her. I'm not married this lady.
(13:38):
That so, man, that's that's my memory against offense.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
That's what's up, man, you know, You can talk about
our memories all day against those guys, but right now
we're not playing. Yeah, right now, we're covering this team
and we're talking about this team. So we're here now
in Madrid Wik eleven and that's who's our matchup? Yeah,
all right, it's kind of a fast lane, all right.
Fast Lane presented by Eastern Automotive Group any Car anyway
(14:07):
for everyone since nineteen eighty eight. Feel us, we got
the Miami Dolphins in this week. You love a match up.
What are some of the things we have to do collectively?
I mean when I say collectively, I'm talking about offense,
defense and special teams to be successful.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Can I say something as we started about the preview
for Miami got the same records, but it don't feel
like the two same teams.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
Don't feel like we should be in the same motives.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
What do you come here? That's one of us coming
there like we're a much better team. So you know what.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
I like these moments though. I like when one team
is coming on a high note. Yeah, because they just
got a high. They just want to go to beat
the bills. Rightfully, South, you shouldn't come in like like
you're a world beata. But that's what I want a
Dolphins team at because what I've what I've seen from
a Dolphins all year long, they don't play like that.
Speaker 5 (14:56):
They don't play like that consistently.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
And if we can go out there play the kind
of game that we've been yearning and yearning for these
guys to play, we can really get these guys. Man,
we really have a big chance of getting these guys.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
So so my my my points to going into the
game Tanner is one. They don't have a good rush defense.
I think they're ranked twenty six in the league, and
that's where our strong point. I think we can run
the ball on them, and I impose our will.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
We We got Logan.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Talking about we have the tight ends coming on, so
I think that, you know, we'll be able to run
twelve and thirteen personnel and be able to run the ball.
So I think that's a key, being able to establish
that first or second down run on. Defensively, it's gonna
be interesting because we got some guys banged up, you know,
so we're gonna have some We're gonna have Hamilton, we
have Igman.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
I mean, we're.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Gonna have Mikey in the slot, so it's gonna be
interesting to see what happens in the back end now
that we got all these new faces, new players got
step up. All we're gonna play man all we're gonna
plays on and special teams. You know, Miami is a
hard fought team. The team we're gonna have to it's
gonna it may come down who wins the field position.
Because their defense against Buffalo was great and they jumped
(16:07):
out on Buffalo early. So you can't not have a
good special teams player.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
When I look at at this game against the Dolphins, you'
talking about what what are the keys to have a
success against them? Two things we gotta We gotta x
out A Shane. That's hern A Shane. They're they're they're
running back. He's an explosive, dynamic football player. And I
say football player because he's gonna get the ball. He's
(16:34):
gonna get a bunch of touches in the running game,
but he also is gonna get touches in the receiving game.
So you have to limit him, can't allow him to
have a bunch of explosive plays against you. He's the
He's the guy that I feel like we take away
that now that really kind of limits their play action
(16:56):
passing game, or maybe it's not as effective.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
So we do that.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Then from a from an officer standpoint, Blue, you just
touched on him.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
We got to be able to run the ball.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
We have to be able to run the ball, because,
for one, if we're able to run the football, it's
gonna keep us ahead of the change and it will
keep us out of those third long situations.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
You live in the world of third and longs.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Against this duptas defense, they dial up a lot of
blitz it's a lot of pressures. They're one of the
top teams and bringing blitzes against you. So those two things,
I think those are the keys to us.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
One of this guys, I love the fact that you
bring up slowing down a chain. I think another guy
that we have to slow down is you know, totom
to heat ahead of the stake. So so how he goes,
the team goes offensively.
Speaker 5 (17:45):
But leaning to this game, we got dq taking over
the defense.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
What do you see, how can he be effective or
how can he just shift some of the things that
we're doing right now defensive because I think defensively, we
show signs earlier this year being dominant, but we we we.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Kind of lost our way a little bit.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
Yeah, do you think d Q could come in there
and bring that back for us?
Speaker 3 (18:09):
I think so obviously.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
You know, Joe Whitt was the change from the booze
coming to the sideline that wasn't effective, And it ultimately
comes down to d Q. You heard him say that
it all falls back on me. So I think with
the head coach and Lennon you touched on it earlier.
DQ is a proven play caller, defensive play caller. He's
(18:33):
been in every situation and nothing. And I don't want
to disrespect jo Wet and take anything from Joe Whip,
but DQ has done that and maybe that spark of
being a head coach and you know, just his history
of play calling in a time when we need something different.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Sometimes it's like people be like.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Whatever it takes the change. So I'm hoping that that
that happens.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Here's here's a thing though, Joe where he.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
Was, he was, he was handcuffed by the personnelity you do,
the injuries and all this stuff. Now when you when
you make a change like this, it puts more of
a spotlight on the players. You can say, hey, maybe
we wanted doing it the way we.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Needed to do.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
Dan Quinn, who's been a proven defensive coordinator at multiple places,
we know his pedigreement. So if we're still not getting
it dumb, there will be a light shined brighter.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
On the players.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Yeah, so there's a sense of urgency that has to
take place.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Not saying that it wasn't.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
There before, but I think it's even brighter, it's even
magnified because all right, we'd have made this change at
the coordinator. Eventually, it's gonna have to come down to
the players going out of executing their job and doing
it at a high level, regardless of whatever the call is.
If I go out and execute at a high level,
each one of them, each one of us do our
(20:00):
one eleven to give us our best opportunity to win
that down, that's what it's gonna take.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
I've been that kind of guy from day one when
it comes to this game. I think we've all played
in those games where we can all point the finger
at coaches, but at the end of the day, were
the one that's out there playing.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
So brother, they put us in a situation to be
successful or not. We had the right to go out
there and still make a play. That's called overcoming coaching.
You know, we have a guy in Mariota. That man,
he was still the sets of time.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
I mean, he's in.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
What tenth year still excelling at the position as a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Now is more of a backup.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
But we've seen so much from this guy this year
being able to lead to him for our offense, that
it makes you stretch your head, like, what do we
need to see from him in this dolphinse matchup for
us to be successful offensively and lead us to victory.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
I've said a lot of what we've already seen from him.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
Yeah, when you look at Marcus in the four games
that he's already started, when he's had the full week
of prep, full week of working with the receivers all
week long, he's.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Played good football.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
He's done enough to give us opportunities and chances to
win the football game or win win the game like
he did against the Raiders, gave us a great opportunity
against the Falcons on the road. He came out hot
against the Kansas City Chiefs. But it comes down to
can we do enough around him? Can he can we
(21:27):
play combminary football? Can the defense, make it not having
to be a shootout. Can the run game excel to
where we're not having to go to a drop back game?
You want to be at a steal, have to run,
fist to run, have the run game at your disposed disposal,
the play action passes, the r p os, the zone
reason where he's really good at. That's where that's what
(21:49):
we he excels. And I think if we're able to
get that from him, he doesn't have to go out
and be Superman or do anything more than he already
has done.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
Yeah, last week against Buffalo Bills, they gave up a
lot in the passing game. They gave up a ball
I think almost over three hundred some yards in the
passing game, and Buffalo wasn't successful in the run game.
One of the things that I've been wanting to see
all this year from US is a balance attack. Yep,
you know, it don't necessarily have to be lopsided on
(22:20):
any side. I just want to see something balanced as
b But also with being balanced, you have to have
a rhythm, you understand, So what do we have to
do offensively to establish that rhythm? Establish that flow offensively
or either be effective in the run or the pass game.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Well, I think for the most part, like we said,
it starts with the guys up front and being able
to run the ball, because if you know, if you
get behind the change, it can get bad against any
defense you get thirty seven players got to you gotta
stay ahead of the change. And to be fair, sometimes
(22:55):
we get out of rhythm when you don't have guys
who can win the one on one battles. We talked
about Seattle, we talked about Detroit. They knocked our rhythm
off because they got after and they was.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Able to cover us.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
When we decide that we're gonna run the ball and
we can establish a run. That then we de started
to dictate to people versus people dictating to us. So
I think I think it all starts with that mentality.
Let's let's do whatever other personality, let's dictate to them.
Second of all, I like the fact that Marcus.
Speaker 6 (23:28):
When he's been in there, he has the improvise.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Like, there's one play I can remember all year that
was one of the most amazing players I seen is
when he scrambled out against Seattle and threw it to
turf back over there.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
I was like, sometimes you need something like.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
That is at the play when he fumbled the ball
and when he scrambled and ran with it from the
r field and.
Speaker 5 (23:49):
He jumped over.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
He thought he was young and the ball. Look, I
can live with that. We turned over the ball.
Speaker 5 (23:56):
But I saw something in our backup quarterback back.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Up at this point inn on, we called him like
he's a starter.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
He started start off with, he'll be starting half the
games on definitely starts elsewhere.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
But I'm just saying, like for us, being that he
was our backup at the time and made a play
that significant to the game, even with him fumbling the ball,
I was I was like, man, I was in it
all because I'm like, look this this We need that
from a quarterback. We need that from somebody that's walked
the team.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
And we turned on. He came back and won that game.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
So it didn't affect us in a bad way, but
it just showed the team man, that we have that
in our backup quarterback.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
All right, here we go, Man, it's time for Ticket

(24:56):

All right, what is the ticket to get it a
win versus Miami?
Speaker 2 (25:08):
I think on I think our offense is going to
be productive because Marcus has shown that he can take
the game plan that Cliffs have given him.
Speaker 6 (25:17):
I think the ticket is no explosive place.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Man.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
I don't care who's in there. And if you and
I starts with Tanning. You mentioned getting off the tour.
They got Waddle, another young boy on our side. Think
it's Watt's a receiver that they got some guys who
can really run that a lot of might not be
a household name, but they both can fly. You can't
give up explosive plays. Keep everything in front of keep,
don't get, don't get out of your gap with a Chankers.
(25:42):
He's explosive. Let's not give up explosive plays. I think
our offense will score points, but that don't beat ourselves
by giving up easy.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
It's all about making a one dimension and that's tour
tour runs that train.
Speaker 5 (25:55):
I don't care about a chain. I don't care about Waddle.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
I don't care about anything they do defensively, even if
they've been effectively defensively. If you kill the head of
the snake, the defense will go numb too. So we
have to get the Tour. We have to rattle Tour.
If I see Tour standing up and that white jersey
ain't on his back, It's gonna.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
Be a long day for us. I'm gonna say this.
I think it's two things.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
First of all, we gotta we gotta knock out the
run game against them. We gotta we gotta stop their
run game, which is keeping a chain in check. And
then secondly, whatever it takes, we have to get pressure
on Tour, which is, as you mentioned, the head of
this uh of this snake.
Speaker 5 (26:41):
Hey, you know what I want to ask you.
Speaker 4 (26:43):
Do you see us doing something different than what we
did in the past with our these quarterback Because were
gonna face Sam Donald, Sam Donald who had last.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
Week uh he was upright to Jared Jared Golf.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Those two guys we knew that couldn't really they what
mobile quarterbacks. Now you have another guy that's not quite
mobile to a run. If you have to do you
see us doing something defensive.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
I would love to see us do something differently and
from a let's show some blitzes that we haven't shown.
We have some simulated pressures that we haven't shown, because
what we've done so far to this point has not
worked consistently enough. So let's look at it. And I
know these coaches do this, this is what they do.
(27:28):
Let's look at what what pressures have given the Dolphins problems.
Maybe it's an overload blitz, maybe it's a simulated pressure.
Maybe it's what gives them problems. Maybe it's showing like
we're gonna blitz and they're dropping out the covernor so
doing just mixing up those different types of things. We
got to figure something out to do differently, because what
(27:49):
they say, insanity is doing something over and over again
expecting a different result.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
I would love.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
I would love to see us do something differently, and
quite frankly.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
I expect us to do something different. Yeah, we got
you well.
Speaker 5 (28:00):
In order in order for us to win, we got.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Every gotta do something.
Speaker 6 (28:03):
So we know we come in for one thing and
that'should win.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
But also, while.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
You're in Madrid, Spain, there's little fun that has to happen. Right,
So this segment it's called Madrid this or that, right, fellas,
since we Madrid, now it's time to have some fun.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Let's go. Let's get it. First.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
One, this is about the dessert a cheero con chocolate
or testado chierro or testada.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
I've never had either one of them. You never, man,
I'm from Cleveland, Chiros, Cleveland. Man, I'm seeing as though
we're gonna do it. Cheer rolls taste tests tomorrow is good.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
I'm gonna say, depending them, how you have them? They
got like so the ones I taste in Miami have
a little cinnamon taste, all right, all.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
Right, that's good. So Chiros wins out on that one.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Second one sports, because that's the the said the two
most popular sports in Spain soccer or basketball.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
I already know what you're gonna him on.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
So if I'm in Spain, if I'm in Spain, I'm
root for soccer because you know.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
But you gotta picked one soccer. So I'm just saying
that if I'm here, it's soccer.
Speaker 5 (29:15):
Gonna Trump's basketball something on with soccer.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Okay, I'm a basketball guy, Yeah you know I was.
I thought I was. I thought I was going to.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
The league or big Flatt even go to the G League.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
He's gonna be a five to two point.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
I had hopstar. I'll say this sput fletch. If we're
in Madrid and I wish they were, they had a
football game, soccer game while we're here, because those that
atmosphere looks amazing. I gotta go with soccer out here,
soccer basketball in the States.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Geography because y'all know Spain has a beautiful geography.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
You haven't seen much of it yet.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
They got they got the mountains or the beach.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
You've been talking about Barcelona all day, so we're now
in Barcelona.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
That's what deferaction soliving me. I want to go back
to Barcelona.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
So we can't talk about the beach because we're not
in Barcelona.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
So I'm gonna go with the mountains.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
You go, okay, you got to go to the mountains, man.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
I'm a beach guy.
Speaker 6 (30:19):
Yeah, I just I just remember I'm from Miami.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Ye to be Litsten tell you I've seen the beach
all my life. But when we're somewhere where they don't
have much of that.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
You gotta enjoy the mountains man. It's been fun. We
had we had James George pub.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Live commanding fans in the building. Yes, this has been amazing,
amazing time places, the atmosphere is great.
Speaker 3 (30:56):

Events DC, the premier host of conventions, entertainment, sporting, the
cultural events.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
In the nation's capital.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Fandom happens here as promised, we got quarterback Marcus Mariota. Marcus,
this is your second time playing the international game. First
of all, what's it like playing in the international game?
Speaker 4 (32:00):
Man?
Speaker 1 (32:00):
The experience of being here at Real Madrid's practice fillity,
what's that like as well?
Speaker 7 (32:04):
And unbelievable? Like this facility is incredible. And I love
these international games because like throughout the entire gamer is cheering.
Speaker 5 (32:12):
Yeah, you know, like how.
Speaker 7 (32:13):
An offensive defense in the States, like you kind of
getting some different some different cheers, but like these fans
just like absolutely love the game and they just kind
of cheer all day. So it's fun.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
One of the things about having an experience of coming
over here is you know, being able to see different
things and explore something new. You probably don't get the
luxury to doing that because you gotta worry about a
football game. But how about just connecting with your guys,
with the fellas, you know what I mean. I heard
DQ talk about, you know, the experience of y'all going
to Arizona last year early being able to share that
(32:43):
same week, the whole week you know, away from the families.
Speaker 5 (32:46):
How has this week been so far?
Speaker 4 (32:48):
No, you've only been over here two days, well one
day now, really, how has that connection been with you
guys so far?
Speaker 7 (32:53):
Yeah, it's been great, and it's a great opportunity to
organically have just dinner, you know, play cards, like just
hanging out town together, no doubt, and I think that's important,
especially in this point of the season and where we're at.
It just allows that to happen naturally. And it's been
fun to be on the guests.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
Is that like a welcome break to get a little
breaking Absolutely? Does that help? Yes?
Speaker 7 (33:15):
Yes, And you know, you know how the seasons are,
like you get to like week ten, week eleven, like
it starts to be a grind and just to kind
of get out of that same routine, same mara, like
you get an opportunity to experience a great city. It's
been good for us.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
What other question I have for your is routine? Obviously
traveling is time difference. What type of things did you
do to get back into your routine?
Speaker 7 (33:37):
Man, Yeah, it's different. It's different, and you know, it
is nice to get a little more sleep, the kids
are you know, my kids stay down on the stat
a little more rest. But no, it is different. You know,
you don't get to go down and lift in the
gym when you do or you know your film watching.
It's all just a little bit different, but sometimes that's good.
It's good to be able to adjust and change those
(33:57):
things up and at the same time are through. Our
resource staff here does an unbelievable job of setting things
up so that we can kind of find our routine.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
Again.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
Speaking of routine, how has your routine changed throughout this season?
You know, being that you've been a backup, but you
pretty much almost what you started half of the games
almost you know, this year? How has that switched from
saying that, Okay, one week I may be starting the
other week, I maybe sitting behind you know, Jayden, what
has that been like for you?
Speaker 7 (34:24):
Well, for me, I just try to take it like
I'm starting every week and that way, if this happens,
then I'm not changing really anything at all. And our
guys here, our staff, the coaching staff does a great
job of allowing those things to happen, like, Hey, I
might be I need another walk through or I need
to watch some more tape, like can you help me
with that? And they, Tavita, David and all those guys
(34:45):
in the Cortborck room, they do an awesome job of
allowing me to do that, and that way, the transition
is pretty seamless.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
This year.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
This is your tenth yend of the league. You've come out,
you know, Heisman Trophy, won a number two overall draft pick.
You've had some trials and tribulations that you're going through
through your your career. As you look at this season,
there's been some rough spots for the team. How have
you been able to kind of talk to the team
about these experience and try to get you guys back
on the winning way.
Speaker 7 (35:16):
Well, I think I can relate with like everybody in
the team. I've been a starter, I've been a backup,
I've been hurt, I've won a playoff game, you know.
So I feel like everybody in that locker room I
can sit down and have a conversation with and there's
a lot of value in that. And at the same time,
when guys have questions that they feel maybe they can't
(35:37):
talk to a coach about or hey, I don't know
if I can ask that, like, they come to me,
and I feel like that's one it's a great responsibility,
but one that I'm very thankful for, and I just
do my best to be transparent and honest and give
those guys whatever kind of support they need.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
How much has this game slowed down for you, man.
I mean I'm looking at you out there playing this game.
As you know, some of us came into the league
playing with just so much fire behind everything that you're
doing out there running the football.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
Your RPO game is sick throwing the football, Like.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
We all quietly tell ourselves, Man, it's a blessing to
have this guy on our team, you know, to be
able to be a back up.
Speaker 5 (36:19):
You know, how is it? Man?
Speaker 4 (36:22):
Because I just know I've seen so many other I
guess you could say vets at that position just look
phenomenal just late in that game and used to to me.
Speaker 5 (36:31):
I feel like you got about.
Speaker 7 (36:34):
First of all, I appreciate all those words.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
Man.
Speaker 7 (36:37):
No, I think what it comes down to it is
like I just feel a lot. I feel comfortable. I
feel confident in this system. DQ breinges that into everybody,
and for me, I come to a point of my
career where I just want to enjoy it. You know,
you don't really know how long you got in this game.
And I think early on in my career, I was
so worried about trying to be perfect and like, hey,
(36:59):
I gotta be this, I gotta you know, I got
to help this franchise out and like some of that
stuff has been not necessarily stripped away, but it's just
like you know, at the end of the day, like
I can't control those things and I can just go
out there and play. And it's been a lot of
fun and I really enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Yeah, think about fun. We had the real Madrid facility.
How fun is that? Like what's your what's your experience
with like soccer? Man, Like, this is pretty cool.
Speaker 7 (37:22):
This is sick and I grew up playing soccer. My
brother is actually he's here with us in Madrid and
he's like the biggest soccer fan. He's like, yo, you're
going to real.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
Like I'm.
Speaker 7 (37:35):
So no, this is this is cool And and then
we talked about it too, like football provides an unbelievable
experience and it's it's really becoming like a global thing
and to be a part of that, to be the
inaugural game here is a special opportunity.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
That is true, is a global game and you guys
aren't representing the NFL over here in Spain.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
That's awesome.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
Man.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
One of the one of the things with the Players
Club is we try to learn about the player being
off the field to man. As a quarterback, I tell
people playing quarterback in the NFL, that's the hardest position
in sports. Like, there's not a position this person's going
(38:16):
to inter he.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
Gotta he gotta make it by him.
Speaker 1 (38:19):
Some kind of one for you, How are you able
to like decompress and what do you like to do
off the field just to kind of have fun or whatever.
Speaker 7 (38:27):
No doubt. I think now that I'm a dad, I
think that has been my way is just kind of relaxing.
Speaker 5 (38:32):
That the hardest job, no doubt.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
I tell people all the.
Speaker 7 (38:35):
Time that's actually my real job is going home. But no,
my kids, like they could care less if you throw
three touchdowns or three picks, Like they just want to
see that, so you ready, no doubt. So that that
perspective has kind of always been good for me. And
then second, I love golf, So I love to play golf.
That's kind of my little getaway. And I wouldn't say
I'm very good, but I just like being outside and competing.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Yeah, I play with be mitch Man, you know Ben
Scratch golf.
Speaker 4 (38:58):
No, come on, we gotta we got a couple of
guys that that we all play with London.
Speaker 5 (39:04):
They can play too. Oh, what are some of the
things man? Going into this game?
Speaker 4 (39:07):
And up here, you know we got the Dolphins coming
in off of win, and you know, like I said,
we still searching, We're still clawn, we're still fighting, trying
to get one, just to get into this bye week
with something good, with a good taste. I guess you
can say, what are some of the things you're gonna
tell those guys in a huddle?
Speaker 5 (39:21):
You know, come Sunday, Man, It's about us.
Speaker 7 (39:24):
It's about us, and when it comes down to it,
like when we function and when we excel and we
are our best, nothing nothing can stop us. But when
we're out there and we're hurting ourselves, whether it's negative players,
whether it's sacks or turnovers, like now, we're really putting
ourselves behind the eight ball. So that's kind of been
the message all week. It's just kind of it's about us,
and at the end of the day, I think if
(39:44):
we can do that and focus on that, we'll take
care of business.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Last question, We've had guys talk about what's it like
playing for d Q. When I first met him, when
he got hired, he talked to me like I had
played for all like man, I would have loved to
have a coach like what's it like playing for DQ.
Speaker 7 (40:02):
Oh Special Special, And throughout my career I played for
a few different head coaches. So but I think just
an unbelievable person. But he's going to get the best
out of you, and he knows kind of what buttons
to push. And I think that's what's been most impressive
for me being around him for these last couple of seasons,
(40:24):
is he's going to get the best out of you,
and sometimes he believes in you more than even believe
in yourself. And I appreciate that about him.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Marcus, We appreciate you coming on the Players Club that
