Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome to another edition of the Players Club. Londa Fletcher,
as always sat town of mass Flute, foot shot springs Man.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
The Players Club.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Is presented by Pepsi, the official soft drink of the
Washington Commanders, and in part by Johnson Kendo Johnson, the
official insurance broker and risk management partner of the Washington Commanders,
where our passion is your protection with Fellers.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Since it's the bye week, I'm gonna start by asking
you guys, what was it like? You know, I think
we kind of chimed in on this a little bit
a couple of shows ago, but I'm asking you again,
what was it like for you guys doing y'all by
week when you was playing man?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
For me, it was you know, for me, it was
just like, Man, I just.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Want to a little couple of days, little staycation maybe,
but I wouldn't travel. I just felt like I just
needed to be at home, organized myself. Then for the
second half of the season, it just kind of relaxed
and do some things I did.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
I would do kind of similar. You know, if we
were here in DC as an entire family, we do
a stay cation. Man, you go down to the fourth
season something like that, yeah, you remember what undershininghand. We
got a whole week off and my family, they used
to had stayed back in Charlotte my last two seasons.

(01:19):
So I went back there and coaches like, make sure
you get a run, don't sit around, And so I
waited about three or four days to get my run in.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Man, I felt old as head.

Speaker 5 (01:31):
Do that run.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I'm like, I don't know how I will finish the
rest of the season because the way I'm running like,
I felt terrible. Man, all kind of art thriners had
said it, But for the most part, I was a
chill guy.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Never that would do a vacation, do all that type
of stuff. I just I was still kind of locked
so locked in.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah, it's crazy that you guys say that, because I
always felt like I was the odd bod.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
I felt like for years.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
When I say years, I mean I had to from
from year one all the way up until my twelfth year, right,
I never went anywhere, you know, I was always the
only the firsest I would go is back to Miami,
you know what I'm saying, Because you want to get
out of the cold or whatever it may be, or
even if it wasn't a cold. You want to just
get away and go back home, something familiar. But I
would never do anything else. And I heard so many
other guys in the locker room talking about these trips,

(02:15):
and I'm like, well, you know, the all them boys
go to.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
Vegas, they do, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
I'm like, you know, he.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Hear Vegas. Like man, I'm not I'm not enjoying this,
you know. But I think it was more to the Caribbean.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
I think it was more so when the Shanahan's got
into play, they spoke about getting away for a week.
And so, you know, like I said, I'm one of
those guys. Man, I know it might sound it probably
won't sound out that you guys, you guys watched high
practice and how prepared. But if you tell me anything,
and I trust in you to be telling me what
I need to do, I'm gonna listen. And so when

(02:54):
I heard them guys talking about getting away from here, reset,
That's what I did. I say, you know what, we're
going out time, We're gonna go on the trip. And
I'm a reset And I just went to where I
knew best. You know, Miami and the Bahamas is a
thirty minute flags.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
So I would go home and Atlantis. Man, go over
there to where some of my folks from.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Man, if you have a good time, man, Bahamas, I
always chilled, though I wouldn't Son, not like you.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
I didn't wait to work out. I worked out every day.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
I do that get in the morning of work.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
I actually felt better every day, getting stretching, doing something.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
I felt off.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
No, man, but I mean, but you gotta think too,
flet you play way more years.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
He was much older, so.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
It was in your linebacker too. Yeahs on your body.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
Brother.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Well, I was like.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Around that time in the moment, I mean around that
time of the season, I was kind of like, especially
with the shanahands. I was fresh because I was playing
different roles. So you know, they talking about reset to
a guy who I'm only coming down.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
I'm a reset on them feeling great exactly.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
Well, Fellas, it's my favorite time of the show.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Drift Time presented by Easton Automotive Crew Any Car Anyway
for everyone since nineteen eighty eight. With this segment, we're
gonna recap the season man up to this point, and
I think it's a perfect time for us to look
back at some of the things that has transpired and
you know, one of the things people fail to realize
is like, this is what happened through seasons, the good

(04:21):
and the bad and the ugly, you know what I mean,
Like it's not gonna always be you know, pitches and cream.
I say that, you know, with a smile on my face,
because I've been in playoff seasons going through some of
the things our team is going through right now. And
so with that being said, man, let's get this thing off.
I'm gonna ask you guys, how you feel about Jaden
Daniel's rookie seasons up to this point.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I think James has been phenomenal. He's been probably better
than advertised. Yeah, and you knew, and this is coming
from a guy who came in as a number two
overall draft pick, Heisman Trophy winner. We knew the talent
was there. But the way he played, especially you know,
doing the first call it seven seven eight games of
the season, well he was in the conversation of in

(05:05):
the MVP now just my offensive rookie of the year,
but he was a legitimate candidate for MVP of the league.
The injury kind of kind of you know, slowed him
down a little bit. But lately you're starting to see
him bounce back and be that that type of player.
He's actually had four week of practice. Yeah, we're starting
to see him be that player he was pre injury.

(05:26):
He's he's his maturity, his maturation is approach to the game.
Just it's hard not to be impressed with what he's done.
And the thing is the crazy part is, man, he's
only going to get continue to get better, the more
experiences to go through, the more defensive he faced, and
he's able to put those those reps and experiences in
his uh in his back pocket and know how to

(05:47):
attack that.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah, because he.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Started off week one eighty six yards rushing right, and
then then we was like, first read, ain't there take
off from running? And we saw that we've seen on
the last couple of weeks with the ability to go
to his progressions. For me, man, it's interesting because going
into the year, there was some some things that we
were uncertain about, you know, and that was the lineman.

(06:12):
You know, the line, Wolver with the line like b
Robbers coming back with Wolver with the line looked like
we got a whole new line back and crew, you know,
Frankie Luvu, Wagner you know, got guys that we bring
in free agency, Filer, Armstrong, rookie, Mike's industrial on defense,
and it seemed to be like we was excited about

(06:33):
the change, but I think there was a little sense
of we don't.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Know what we have.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
So with that being said, I'm glad you're there.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Who could you say your is your biggest veteran impact
that has been an impact?

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Oh man, that's tough, man, that's tough because I think
on both sides of the ball, I could give.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
I mean, I could give any one for both sides
then or all three phases.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
I want to say, Austin Eckler, special teams are running back.
Special teams are running back, and you know, and I
could have went with it. I could have went with
guys we had on the show and beat as and
you know, the lineman on the defense side of the balls.
That's a really, really hard one. But obviously y'all know,
I will say.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Frank, I.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Already knew everybody I was gonna say, but but but
it's really hard, man, because Bobby's impact to the whole
defense running You talked.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
About it all the time about uh, the.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Defense at times when we had before weren't communicating. It
seemed like everybody wasn't on the same page. Week thirteen.
I mean, over the weeks, we've seen the defense kind
of move together, play together. You could take a guy out,
put another guy in, and this defense still seems to
be a going towards well on machine. So I tribute

(07:55):
that to a veteran leadership, like a guy like Bobby
who was a signal caller. Right, So for me, it's
pretty tough to just single out one veteran that's done it.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
But I thought, I think we we hit on it.
We hit on the guys we bought in. I'll say, yeah, no,
I'll say this. I'm gonna say I'm gonna say.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
As the at the on the offensive side, because of
all that the center position entails and the responsibility getting
set in the protection he's been he's been stouting their anchor,
and he's you know, been banged up the last few weeks,
but his impact on the offensive line and on the
office in general has been tremendous. They're able to do
a lot more things with him. You see him getting

(08:38):
out pulling, not just you know, using him blocking in
the interior, but being able to get out of the
women and do a lot of different things. And that's
great to have a calming presence at that position.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
When you got a rookie quarterback.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Defensively, you know, Frankie's been outstanding, but I also think
you can say Dante Fowler. Yes, it's been equally as
impressive and equally as important. So those two guys, I
mean that was a stretch where Follow was just I
mean he was just wrecking half man.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Yeah. I think he went what six or seven saxon
eight or seven.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Games, whatever the case may be. I mean he was
just playing out stand in football. He continues to do that.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Do that.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
So I'll say, I don't want to pick Follow over Louver,
so I'm gonna say they both.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
But on the offensive side, I definitely got to go
with the Beyond.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
And we talked about him against Dexter Lawrence and obviously
he was banging up against the Eagles, but he has
been a.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Grown man inside Tyna. Who you got, man?

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Well, you know, offensively, I'm gonna stick with the guys
that I know, uh well, and that's scary terrory, I think.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
Man, honestly, you know.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
It's crazy that it's easy to sit here and cause
call out a.

Speaker 5 (09:48):
Lot of guys like Beyonda caused me.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Those guys have been an integral part of what we've
been able to do as a whole offensively. But I
do believe that in the passing game, it's nobody been,
you know, as dynamic, you know, in the division to
say the least, you know what I mean, than Terry.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
I mean, and he's a guy that's.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Not getting a huge volume of opportunities, you know what
I'm saying. And that's the thing that I've always you know,
proud of myself off you know, when guys be like
telling you know what you you know, give a name
for yourself. I'm like, they called me the guy that
do more or less, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
You know I've done so much Marshall, Yeah, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
And honestly, he's always like my friends, has always asked
me that question, like damn that rings. I'm like, bro,
if you think about it, you give me folk one
of them going to play dirt, you know what I'm saying.
So that's how I look at Terry offensively. He's just
been that guy, especially in our passing game. I can
also put put put a zach Ertz up there because
he's been phenomenal. You know, people haven't seen this ERTs
in a while, you know what I mean. But I

(10:46):
just got to give that credit.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Terry.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
You called it on that, Terry too, you said after
you said, I remember you saying after the Cincinnati game,
he was like, he gave you a hug.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
You saw different.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
It's been defensively, I'm gonna say cheaining I think. Don't
get me wrong.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
I can easily Kwan as a young guy, and he's
playing phenomenal at safety, but chin Man for the last
three four weeks, he arguably has been the you know,
the tackle leader on defense, you know, teen to thirteen
tackles a week. And when you have that kind of
presence in your secondary man, that changes everything. And I

(11:23):
know we still having that problem with, you know, stopping
the run a little bit, but one of the things
I can say about that is we're not letting them
guys finish with it. You know, you get to a
certain point where our defense and then you see those
guys still make you know what I mean, So we
can win with that. We can win and play that
kind of football we can and that's what I love
about you. Guys know that's best man. When you get
in that red zone and you able to you know,

(11:44):
put your heels in the dirt and say all right and.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Not score and they don't. That's a win for the defense.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
So Chan is playing phenomenal man in the secondary, in
the passing game, in the run game.

Speaker 5 (11:54):
This guy's flying around and you.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Know, it's like I say, it's other guys that probably
could and you can sit up there and put on
that pedal stud too.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
But I'm gonna give him that credit.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
I think special teams wise, it's hard man the whole
greatfood though.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
Thirty nine man, yeah, probably.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
What about this?

Speaker 1 (12:14):
And we know Cyber just went in, you know on
I R. But Cyber, yeah, no, don't get me read.
I was gonna give you credit.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
I was gonna give him credit because he has been
I guess you can say he exceeded what my expectation
was from coming in. I didn't think I was going
to get that kind of a kicker, especially getting the
way we got it. So he expeded my He exceeded
my expectation. And I want to say hats off to him,
But I just look at the guys, that's running down
that kickoff team, and man, you got to give I

(12:44):
got that.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Credit the hut. He's ahead on the way split a
pro bowler, you know what I mean. He's just our guy,
and his presence alone.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Is all shout out to revolve.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Uh, let me ask you this kind of anybody, well
both of y'all, who has surprised you?

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Like, who has surprised you?

Speaker 5 (13:08):
I say this, and it's gonna be hard. A lot
of people probably gonna kick me.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Yeah, you see, I had to pause because water Water
really put it out the way I want to.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
Saint Juice, has he surprised me? Don't get me wrong.
What you what you mean by that? Probably he's he's
giving up some place.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Saint Juice this year has been much a better improved tackler.
He's been improved in his coverage at times, especially underneath.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
Like he surprised me a lot with just.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
Some of the things that I questioned last year of
his physical cataly at the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
You know, I'm big on that because I'm.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Like, when you have that, you know that that reach,
that size, you can run, you gotta you gotta man
give me his body and tell me who you want
to be on a ConA coach put me out there
because I'm gonna dominate the guy. The line of screamage,
I'm gonna be run with you, especially with my ball skills.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
I'm taking them things. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
If you got false, you got playing with you playing Cordon,
But I'm saying I played both.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
I know that was my that was you. I see myself.
I like that. But I said, he's surprised me.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
Surprive me for the simmer fact that I think he
has been a much improved player. I mean, people gonna
get on him about giving them certain plays, and that's
just life. That's football, you know what I mean, Especially
in that position, you have to have that needa. Like Fred,
I think he's the best guy to give credit for
that he got.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Speaking of fred Man, going to the Cowboys game, there
was a bunch of highlights like, oh you see the highlights.
You see blue highlights, see some of my highlights. See
a bunch of guys, hoigh, I didn't see what Friz.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
You know, you know, you get sense to them and
everybody who want to stab them? Man, I gotta find
oh yeah, who don't who don't go in there and
dig up my dog highlight, dig up the twenty one highlights.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
Now when you want twenty one for it was a bad.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Video, was so grandy.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
Yeah, tell you, I want your surprise.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
My surprise, man, was it has been Dianie Brown. Okay,
And here's why that's a good one.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
One.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
When the Han got traded, everybody was a little shocked,
and that was shocking. And two at the beginning of
the year, everybody was like, man, this guy's on the bubble.
We need to see something from him. This year he
got a he got a brand new opportunity with a
new coaching style to prove himself. And we've seen flashes

(16:02):
of him catching deep balls. We see him of taking
screens and taking them hitting them. Just we know Terry,
we know that they brought him Brown free agency. Diami
still seems to be the guy. When he gets his catches,
he make the most of them. So he surprised me

(16:23):
because I didn't know if we're gonna get anything out
of him, because it was like, what we what we're
seeing with this guy? And I think he and I
think he's he showed that he's worthy should get touches
and get some catches.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
I mean, I like that. I think I could have
easily said that too.

Speaker 6 (16:38):
You know.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
For him, I think the one thing that I would
love to see is really have more of a place
on the offense.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
Yeah, you know what I mean, Like I.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Want to see him have a hunt, be that, like
be the guy that come in every third time and saying,
this guy gonna stretch the field. He gona we could
give him a slip screen. He can, you know, he
can move the chain. And that's what I want to
see from him because I feel like he has that
caliber flashes. So I would hope that if he's a
guy or one of his family members or one of
his you know, follow us. Hear us talking about them

(17:06):
like we think holly of them, and I think, how
I've been thinking highly of them. But I think also
when you hear guys like myself being critical of guys
like him, you name it Saint Juice and those guys,
that's because we see the potential and.

Speaker 5 (17:19):
We want to see the consistency grow. We know, we
want to see you be at a hold.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
On to it because that's one of the things I've
learned as a as a collegiate, as a high school player.
Like my coach in high school told me, you know,
I'm not going through the ball until I can honestly
trust that you're gonna catch it.

Speaker 5 (17:36):
And you know how that feel as a receiver, Like
what the hell am out here? If you and he
and the coach would throw.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Us one pass a game, one pass a game and
me and my homeboy, you know, it's crazy that we
would have one for eighty in the touchdown because like
we was dynamic and scoring as back and coaches would
be like everybody, be like.

Speaker 5 (17:58):
Man, why y'all need to throw the ball more? He
needed to, but we ran that we won't with wing team.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
So we we had three fifteen hundred Russia I mean
yard Russias in our backfield. Full back, running back and
the quarterback all rush for fifteen hundred.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Yards per reception average.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
Ridiculous, he was, we were going deep.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
But I just want to see you guys like those
two guys be more consistent about you.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
I'm gonna say.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
I'm gonna say Mikey Samer still yeah, because you know
he's drafted. Nick Saban, He mentioned him being the best
power for pound player as a rookie corner, not the biggest,
biggest cornerback. He was drafted, you know, with the idea
he was going to play the play, the play, the
slot being side. You love his quick his toughness, his physicality,

(18:44):
his savviness. But because of the circumstances situation, he had
to move outside and he's held it down outside and yeah,
so I.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Guess still looked real good.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Really he's he's a guy that has really impressed me
because of hey, he was he was drafted to do this.
He started off doing that, but now he can do
how you do this, and just that versatil his toughness,
his savagess. There's times where wide receiver screens, bubble screens,

(19:19):
tunnel screams coming up in the run, support making play,
slipping blocks like dang this this kid man.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
He doesn't shot.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
Clark can't.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
I can't walk in with his glasses on when he
gets in between his line. He is pure performing.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
I add something to that.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
Even more surprising is that he changed to you know,
the cornback position his senior year, and yeah, guy to
be where he's way ahead of the curve when it
comes to what you guys have went through as a
real true dB. You know what I'm saying he's learning through,
you know, all the growing pains. He's like a new

(19:57):
out there, and especially in this league. It's hard to
come in this league and dominated. I don't care how
good you was on the collegiate level. You don't get
guys first year coming in and dominating like that.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
And playing outside and undersize doing this. Can we get
a shout out to Joe with.

Speaker 4 (20:13):
Because they had a rough week the secondary rough against Tampa,
against Mike Evans or Saint ju just did and then
them guys man every week you talk about when Kwan
we had him on the show, He's taking place Mike
Cincera we had on the show. And those guys continue
to get better.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
So you're right he was. He's been a pleasant surprise.

Speaker 5 (20:36):
You know what's crazy about that?

Speaker 3 (20:38):
Since we're talking about Joe Witt, did you ever did
you ever have a person or coach anybody that spoken
to you and you initially just believed it out the
gate like you just the way it came out. He
was like, I believe you, Like I got to see it,
but I believe you. I think that first sit down
with Joe with it was nothing. He said that I

(20:58):
didn't believe right, you know, I mean the way it
came off his tongue. Man, it was nothing he said
that I didn't believe so said it was said it
with some said it with chest.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
Not only that, man, it was bingo. That's the word.
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (21:10):
And when when you have a coach, that's how people
are able to follow you. When you said and it's stern,
it's it's concrete, it's nothing.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
There's no gray area.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
It's definitive in delivering of a message. The worst thing
that you can have as a player. I don't want
to go on the football field. We don't want to
go on the football field with gray and gray in
the time, with doubt, like all right, do I do
it this time?

Speaker 2 (21:36):
That way?

Speaker 1 (21:36):
I want black and white one hundred percent. This is
how we're going to do it. Yes, yes, you want
to be able, so that allows me to play show
my talents through all those types of things. If i'm
if I'm kind of questioning, okay, this technique, how we're
going to stop this, what we're gonna do it?

Speaker 2 (21:54):
About this formation? I can't be past. I can't slow down,
I can't I can't think called with conviction.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
I can't give it that luk with conviction because I'm
not I'm not sure what what I was supposed to do.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
But as you mentioned, Tay the first time we interviewed him,
he's like.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Man, I believe it said every word you know, And
it wasn't even about settling. It was about his style
of football player, the style of play.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
He was get down. How they gonna do these types
of things and play football.

Speaker 4 (22:21):
Yeah, I want to mention something that we're still on
us were on the drive time. I think a word
that came out with the season recap. I just want
to bring it up and see how y'all respond to it. Man,
every single person we had on the show mentioned brotherhood.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
And so dan Quinn is literally he's put He's infused
these guys with this this thing of brotherhood, and you
can see that they play.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
You can see it.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
You can actually sit on the field where guys are.
I mean they coming to the party. Defensively, I haven't
seen as many people to the ball in a long time.
I mean it's like a pack of hyenas every time
somebody got the ball in their hand. And that's what
you want on defense. You want these guys to be
on you like a tarantula on a caterpillar. You know
what I'm saying, Like you want you want these guys
to I feel.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Like that.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Started visualizing because they're smarm like. You don't see that
caterpillar nomore, and that's how our guys. When the guy
at the ball, you don't see the ball carrier, that's
your arms.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
That's a beautiful site where you see seven, eight, nine,
ten guys in the frame around the ball career, it's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
It's intimidating for for offense.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
It's a beautiful site when you see the offensive guys
going down the field blocking for the receivers still blocking hard.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Wasn't them boys hitting increase too? That's brotherhood? Yeah, that
is that's brother But that's that. That's the credit to you.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
As you mentioned, dan Quinn set in the stage setting
the culture. Everybody has a culture. I mean good teams
that culture, bad culture, but is it the right type
of culture? Great point, and there's no question dan Quinn
has set the right type of culture.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
When we come back, we'll be setting it on for

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Talk about attacking the rest of the season. After the
bye week. We got four.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Games left, critical four games, critical, critical, four games. We
got the sayings, the Eagles, the Falcons, the Cowboys. How
y'all want to see us attack these last four games?

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Ty, I'm gonna start with you, oh man.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
I mean, first of all, I want to see everybody
that has a nick or has something going on with them.
I want to see them, you know, really, you know,
get on that this off I mean hear me saying
off season this bye week.

Speaker 5 (26:33):
I just feel like these guys are a little.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Tired, you know.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
And when it gets this late in the season, man,
don't matter if you got if you injured or not. Man,
when you just when you need a break. This is
the kind of reset that I guess them shinning hands
are telling us back in the day that we won't
really need. And I want to see those guys come refreshed.
I just want to see a team that has a
vision of seeing theirselves playing in the postseason. And I
think the only way you can have that vision is

(26:56):
by how you attack that first week. You know that
first week on, be so critical in what you're what
you're telling the rest of the country about your team,
about yourself, like this, this is what you're finna see
these next four weeks, and it's going to start.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
You know that first came out to the Bay and
to a tough place going to play. It's not easy.
But I can tell you this, when you get up
that don't get quiet.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
So you want to get it, you better get up early, man,
because I've been in there a couple of times where
I scored a touchdown too. Somebody thing that thing. You
can hear the man up there selling popcorns. So what
they call you in know Orleans, man, I'm calling me
making sure.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
The man last four weeks breaks needed.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
You're absolutely right after it was brutal, but now we
got to break, which may be a blessing if we
come off and do what we need to do over
the next four week and it's going to start by
re energized, refocused, one game at a time.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
And I know it's cliche, but it has to be.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
That level of like intentional detail for each week because
you're not going to beat these teams. If even to
says going down to New Orleans, if that that intentional detail,
being healthy, stand on top of your body, just really,
you know, everybody got to be on every We talked

(28:26):
about all three phases special teams, defense, offense.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
You got to be on. We gotta be on it.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
And and I think you know what I want to
see is going back to I think there's a recipe
for us to win. That recipe is like we got
to start beating people up with our front lady. December
December football. December football.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
We know.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
December and January. We know what it is and it
ain't no secret what that takes. That's that physical football.
So London, I'm gonna let you like what we say.
We don't negotiate with We got negotia.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
You saw me start smaller, you start, you start talking
deceparate football man, what's up my thing?

Speaker 2 (29:08):
I perked up for it, right, No, it's it's a
different type of grind.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
But you said it the turches, Yeah, all O line,
D line when we were rolling our offensive line, one
of the best in the league, went through a little spell,
had been wasn't able to really play up to our potential.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
A lot of it was injuries. You know, it's it's
it was injuries.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
And you're not making an excuse, but this is that
was the reality of it, having having the Bible, getting
getting a little bit healthier, getting healthier, I'll say this.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Being able to truly and I know they self scott
throughout the season.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
But now even digging even deeper into what has what
have these teams been able to see and what have
we shown them that they've been able to kind of
stop our offense so much?

Speaker 2 (30:01):
What are we doing? How can we switch them things up?

Speaker 1 (30:03):
From a defense standpoint, You know we've been we've played well,
but how can we take it to even another level?
Because when you when you think about football in December,
run game has to be going, a defense has to
be going run games. Offensive line stopping the run, defensive
line being able to get out of the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
So how can we take it? I neither another step
further and embrace it.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Coach Quinn said, Hey, you know, thirteen weeks of the season,
nothing is even decided yet, just decided.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
So we're right where we want to.

Speaker 5 (30:40):
Be in the midst of it.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
I think that's important. Rite where we want to be
right like, so show you ain't in a position where
you can not.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
Don't feel like.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
I need to relax. I'm right where I need to
be to take it. It's a good point, a very
good point.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
And even staying on that kind of mindset, our division
hasn't been decided. Yeah, right, Look at the Eagles, man,
It's basically it's a two team race. The Eagles they
still they still got to play us, They got to
play the Cowboys, they giants, you know, but they still
got a couple of tough games.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
How do we tighten this NFC East Rice down too? Yeah,
I mean all that stuff. This sounds like to me
is we all speak in the same language. And I
think you know what you guys mentioned about December and January.
I think most of the teams who oppose they will
it's the teams that you see in the postseason those
teams that come and play that kind of football. This

(31:34):
is when all that you know, special stuff that we
ran throughout the season to get us here goes out
the door.

Speaker 5 (31:42):
We don't put enough on that on tape. Everybody gonna
be ready for that.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Now it's about putting the best package on the field
and saying you can't stop this. This is what we
do best and we're gonna dominate you with this. And
half of that, to me is what we did earlier
in the year with our run game. So I would
love to see us get behind. Brother, it's gonna be
b Rob or Matt Nichols or you know, Rodriguez, whoever
is going to be the guys up front us who

(32:06):
they should be worried about, not the guys running the ball.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
Because if you got the guys.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Up front doing their job, me, Fletch and Blue can
go back there and be the running back for the
for the next half of the season and this laid
apart and we do what we want to do.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
So it's gonna be big. Like what you're saying, you say, yeah,
I'm trying to get him a little.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
I was just trying y'all know that that still stop
on a dime if deont jog on the field, I
know I can't. I know I can't, all right, man?

(32:47):
So yeah, so but seriously, like so, it's it's going
back on the take and we got that n f
C East.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
We gotta win. We gotta win our division games here out.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
That's making come Man, they count as we uh.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Sider, yes, at this record, and we don't know whether
he's you know, going to be back on the field,
if he's already playing the impact that he's gonna have,
especially down a stretches, these these these ball games.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
Yeah, I would hope you know, I don't want to
get too far here of myself because you know we've
been we've been that way as a franchise, as a
fan base. I can say, you know, we kind of
see something done and then we straight up go out,
oh this is gonna.

Speaker 5 (33:29):
Make us right. But I would hope that he's.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Nothing more than what we expect, you know what I mean,
Like I want to I want to see him just
be that guy that he's he was in New Orleans.
I don't want to see nothing more than this that,
you know what I mean? He don't have to be
no special than what we saw in New Orleans, and I.

Speaker 5 (33:45):
Think that'll be a big, huge upgrade for our defense.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
When you go out and get a guy like Mashawan,
I say direct indication that you believe you can make
it to the playoffs one that one you need him.
You gotta see the lamb. You got Brown and Smith
at the Eagles. You got neighbors or giants. Obviously we
played them already. But when I saw that move, I

(34:10):
thought it was for if we got to go to
Detroit for Saint Brown, if we got to go to
Minnesota for Jefferson, if we got to go back to
I felt like we gotta go to Seattle. That's you know,
that's for you know, their receivers that they have. I
felt like that move was a playoff says.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
You could speak to this because you were a number
one corner for for your majority of your career.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Thirteen years of my career.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
Okay, I'm I don't know how New England treated you.
I massed up for my thirteenthears. Okay, okay, but you
know when you have a guy, yeah, that you could
lock on on the receiver, whoever that receiver is, whether
they say, hey, go lock on the number one guy,
or go I call a number two guy.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
We can roll coverage whatever the case might be.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
You know what that allows you to do from a
defensive standpoint with everybody else.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Yeah, it gives you flexibility now one because even let's
face it, in the modern day football, the number one
or two number one most teams got two number one receivers.
You ain't blanking these guys. But what I will do
is you're not gonna sit over there, regardless of who
I'm covering them from a number one guy and see
over there. Think it's gonna be easy and you can
throw because I will make a play. That's how great

(35:31):
corner is, always thinking like you ain't gonna come in
here and blast us for blast for one hundred. You'll
have your will because I'm gonna make a play and
long as I can show when I walk on the field,
and the other coaches know that, we got to be
smart in how we think about attacking that person that
changes their place. But it also gives us flexibility to say, man, hey, Sean,

(35:53):
you already know man, I'm good. They're not thrown over here,
going do what you do on wrong and That's why
I love having a relationship with and you have a
number one guy because number one guy when he starts
to get that confidence and he's within that scheme. I'm
looking at Sean like, listen, all I all, I really,
I don't need you on a goal. I don't need
you on this, but if you I would tell TV.

(36:14):
I remember in the game, I'm telling I, dare you, Chad,
you run a dick.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
Chad, you talk all that. I dare you to run
a dick.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
Everybody talk a good game until you got a guy
who can freelance or hey man, Marcus, I don't need
you on the backside three, but I want to cover
three man. If you don't, I don't want to take
on this power bibo that sins not is running. I
don't want to hit Rudy. Don't worry about that. I
got him over here.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
Don't.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
And you give the team flexibility. The offensive team has
to look at your tam your scheme a little different
because you can't just attack their best player.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
Yeah no, that's great. How do we peak at the
right time and we talk you hear this all the time.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
You want to be playing your best football in November
in December when November was ugly for US one and four.
But how do we play our best football December? And
actually it'll be January too because.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
Limit say something so that may lead into Santana. And
you said something that was very important self scout looking
at what we've done on offense with while people been
stopping our offense. Offense, now you got Jayden, they get
to self scout themselves, Tanner, they get to make their
adjustments on offense.

Speaker 5 (37:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
No, I mean one of the things that he just
mentioned about, you know, when do we start peaking. I
think this week here is going to be very important
going into this buy because we know, we know how
these guys feel. A lot of these guys banged up,
nicked up, and guess what, this league don't care.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
For you, but give you a third wing fourteen by.

Speaker 5 (37:43):
No one cares.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
And I think it's going to be integral for us
to go out there regardless, like I said, whoever's in
that backfield. I want to see us get back to
what we did offensively with our run game. I think
you need to play a more of an infest on
establishing the running you know what. I think we took
that for granted these past few weeks, and it showed,

(38:04):
it showed, and it showed.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
For granted, people made the emphasis to stop it that too.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
But because I feel like Philly, I felt like Philly, No,
we've played some tough defenses.

Speaker 5 (38:13):
We have.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
We played two tough defenses that kind of opposed they
will and made it made it hard for us to
do so. But then I also feel that when you
have a team like the Cowboys, we should have told
them that you're gonna have to look like Philly or Pittsburgh.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
And so that's what I want to see is get
back to doing what may make us special offensively.

This will be here for you. Trust you know, your
veer been around the league for a long time. How
do you plan to spend spend your bye week?

Speaker 5 (40:37):
Bye week?

Speaker 6 (40:39):
Well, here's the thing is that we really love showing
all of our kids anytime I do some media like this,
So everybody's gonna have to be sworn to secrecy not
to tell them.

Speaker 5 (40:49):
But they're in a big, big, like.

Speaker 8 (40:52):
Prime kind of Disney age phase right now.

Speaker 6 (40:54):
So we're going to surprise them with a little train
trip up to New York for a couple of days.

Speaker 8 (41:00):
Weren't taking to see Aladdin in the line, Maybe do some.

Speaker 6 (41:03):
Of the cool winter stuff in New York just for
a couple of days, maybe just the just the weekend or.

Speaker 5 (41:08):
Waiting back down.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
But uh yeah, they are are six.

Speaker 6 (41:12):
We got twins that are six and six, and then
we got a four year old little girl and uh
and so we're gonna take them up have a good time.
And other than that, I'm looking forward to watching some
watching some basketball practice with the little man, basketball practice,
our little gal, go to gymnastics, you know, get to
do all the stuff I kind of missed during the week,
and so it'll it'll be fun.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
Speaking of bye week. You know, we was talking about
how late this bye week is coming in. You know,
I want to get into my little joking put my
joking hat on you. Was one guy on this team
that had a bye week before everybody else, Like those
weeks when you wasn't punting, well it was.

Speaker 6 (41:50):
It was funny because when we played when we played Arizona,
I hadn't punted for two games and then I had
one punt against Arizona and I missed my direct.

Speaker 5 (42:00):
I hit like an okay ball. Our coverage is just unbelievable.

Speaker 8 (42:03):
Those guys that we have on the punt team are.

Speaker 5 (42:05):
Just some dogs.

Speaker 8 (42:05):
But I missed my direction.

Speaker 6 (42:08):
I was talking with coaches, oh, and I was just like, hey,
I'm a little unhappy with you know just now, I'm
kind of I don't feel like I'm grooving right now.

Speaker 8 (42:14):
Things like that, and he just kind of laughed. He goes,
trust you punting one time.

Speaker 6 (42:19):
He was just like the whole the whole preseason where
you were getting some punching and getting the flow going,
then all of a sudden it just stopped.

Speaker 5 (42:25):
You know, It's just like let's just you know.

Speaker 6 (42:26):
Like you're still unpredictable, you know, that's like one of
your biggest strengths, and like, let's just keep building off
of that and keep working direction and things like that.

Speaker 8 (42:33):
But yes, I did. My hands didn't have a bye week.

Speaker 5 (42:36):
I was still.

Speaker 6 (42:38):
I'm still holding a little bit, but but no, yeah,
that looking back at that now, man, and I'm fully
confident that we're gonna I'll have another.

Speaker 8 (42:46):
Bye week too, not only a real bye week, but
I know.

Speaker 6 (42:49):
Offense is gonna get rolling and we probably won't punt again,
and so and it became a good joke, you know,
like the offensive guys, Mariota and JD and even Cliff,
they'd be like, trust, how many punts was the last kid?

Speaker 8 (43:00):
I was like two or like one of the games.
I'm like, nope, you got to get it back to zero.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
I'm here for it.

Speaker 8 (43:05):
That's all good.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
We got Terry McClure. Terry, we appreciate you joining us.

Speaker 5 (43:09):
I appreciate y'all having me.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
You've been here this your sixth season. How fun has
this season been.

Speaker 5 (43:15):
I'm having a lot of fun.

Speaker 9 (43:16):
It's probably been collectively my most joyful season. Just from
the start wing DQ and everybody got here. Just the
standard they put in place and you know, the first
day that he said this is gonna be the place
for you if you if you're a doll competitor, I
kind of set up in.

Speaker 8 (43:32):
My seat, you know what I mean.

Speaker 9 (43:35):
So since that moment, just the way he's helped us
build this team, the camaraderie that we have in the
locker room, you know, the work ethic that we put
in each and every day, and I think that's what
we hang our hats on at this point of the season.
The work that we're putting in during the week, you know,
I mean, executing the situations. We've had multiple situations come
up over the past few weeks that have determined scores.

(43:58):
The hell Mary determined the game. And so just the
emphasis on the details has been there since he got here.
And I think the competitiveness between offensive defense, we've been
going at it, going at it against one another, but
then on Sundays it's just what we do.

Speaker 1 (44:13):
We got Bobby Wagner, Bobby Man, we appreciate you joining
of this, being a student of the game. And I've
shared this story a couple of times about how you
reached out to me on social media back when I
think it was about two twenty.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
Fourteen, I was retired. You reached out to me, didn't
We hadn't talked to each other prior to that, didn't
know each other. You reach out to me, just.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
Like, hey, man, let that lord, you know, pick your brain.
You know about the middle lineback position. I also know
other people in the business world. They've told me you've
contacted them like cold calls. You also contact the other
former NFL linebackers.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
Where did that? Like self? Where with self whariness come from?

Speaker 1 (44:56):
And be like, man, you know what, let me tap
into these people who are doing things that I want
to do and do it at.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
A higher level.

Speaker 10 (45:03):
Uh, Honestly, I don't know. I think maybe I got
it from like Kobe or something. I think I heard
Fred his story where Kobe would like co call people. Yeah,
and you know, my mind said is like the worst
thing you do is say no. If I reach out
and you know, you want to show love, then I
get I get information. If I don't, then I don't.
But like, you'll never know unless you ask. And so

(45:26):
I think that's kind of where that came. I know
for sure the business side came from, like stuff that
I've heard Kobe do. But you know, football wise is
just like I've been a fan of the game and
I know who who is great, and I know the
people that that played this game at a high level
for a long time, and like why not try to,
you know, reach out there, reach out and learn again.
Like I said, the worst case is going to be
like either don't respond or like I ain't got the time.

(45:48):
But at least at least they know I'm out there.
So that's that's kind of where I came from, just
wanting to continue, you know, being a student of the game.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
We got that special guest Frankie.

Speaker 11 (46:00):
I say in the beginning is patio. When I say patia,
it is just means clap. So I said give me
one patia. I give you one clap. So I just
said over and over again. And then at the uh
after that, I say where my dog's at, and they
just give me a who or he and everybody just
go down like he. And then I say that for
a few times and then to classes Flair man, like

(46:21):
you're getting all the energy out, you know, butterflies whatever
like this and you're ready to go out. So it
helps me.

Speaker 5 (46:26):
Got something you I want to go back, just like
like we're about to do.

Speaker 11 (46:51):
Yeah, this is a you know, a tradition man, uh
uh in our culture that we do. Man, just trying
to bring it to the team, man, because I know
that's one thing that everybody you know put all your products.
Everybody's one. You know, we go out for one job
and you know, and we go and win show.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
I love you brought it here, man. I love what
you're doing thus far. You know, London normally do this
and I know it's been a long time, so what
we normally do. Every guests that come on the show,
we got a ball from man. So you keep up
what you're doing, man, because we're big fans and you're
a big fan for you step on the field for us.
But Man, but what you out there doing it. Don't

(47:29):
be surprised. I might make this shirt to It's gonna
be a task many endevil.

Speaker 5 (47:36):

you really.
