Speaker 1 (00:04):
Welcome into the Lounge presented by DraftKings. I'm Ryan Ink
here with Garrett Downing, and tonight is the night Monday Night?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Is that your best Monday Night football? You know, NFL
Films voice.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Right there exactly they could cast me. I'm ready.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
We know that is not in your future being the
voice the voice of God an NFL.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Films, Big, big game tonight, It's going to be a
lot of fun at the Bank.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Darkness falls tonight.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Uh, it is going to be a lot of fun,
and we are going to break down all the matchups
and and what we expect to see in the in
the keys for a Ravens victory in this game.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
So Garrett, just first of all, mention it darkness.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Falls, the the stadium is going to be black.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
It's and uh.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
What how big of a factor do you think that
actually is in the Ravens getting a win?
Speaker 2 (00:57):
I think it is a really I think it's important factor,
and we have evidence of this. First of all, the
stats bear this out. The Ravens are twenty two to
three in home primetime games underhead coach John Harbaugh. So
that's an eighteen year track record here, twenty five games
and they've been dominant in those games. Now, the Ravens
have historically been a really good team, they've been an
even better team at home. But the margin just gets
(01:19):
even a little bit, moves more in that direction as
you add elements to it, and the primetime game atmosphere.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
Is a component of it.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
We've also heard from opposing players who have talked about
coming into this atmosphere. Derek Henry when he was on
the Titans, talked about coming into this atmosphere. Analysts like
Pat McAfee or Taylor Lewan, who of course both played
the game, and you hear it from others as well,
but those come to mind, well, how hard it is,
how hard it is, how the atmosphere is incredible, Like
it's just really challenging to be in that environment and like.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
You feel it.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
So that's the other piece and then another reason why
I think it's really important for this game. And John
Harbaugh kind of alluded to this during his press conference.
One of his press conferences last week, he made the
point that the Lions are a team that though a
lot of communicating on offense at the line of scrimmage,
they get up at the line of scrimmage, they look
at what the defense is doing. They shift, they motion,
(02:11):
they move around, and all of that is complicated by
a really loud environment. And so you add all those
factors together and I think that that can make if
the crowd has the impact on the game, it makes
life harder on that offense. It's just going to be
difficult for them to kind of get back on track.
And that's really what happened two years ago when the Ravens.
(02:33):
It wasn't a primetime game, but it was a big
loud atmosphere, big gamelout atmosphere, and like they were just
off to the races.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Right, what you're saying is basically, the crowd always has
an impact on the game, but it can particularly impact
the Lions offense given how many motions and how much
communication is built into their offense.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Right Again, it's like you just keep adding layers on
top of it. Like crowd always has an impact, they
have an even bigger impact against this office offense. Potentially, Okay,
they have an even bigger impact when you add in
the fact that it's a night game and it's a
darkness falls game and everyone's juiced up and ready to
go and wearing the wearing they're black and the teams
in the all black uniforms.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Like, there's just a great matchup between two great teams.
I mean, certainly there are a number of people who
feel like, could this be a potential super Bowl matchup?
You know, these are two of the best teams in
the league, and so it's it's going to be popping
at Vant Banks Stadium on Monday night.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
And I just gut feeling.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I just feel like the Ravens always elevate their level
of play on this kind of stage. They just they
just play in Lamar. It starts with Lamar. No no
quarterback has ever. He has an NFL record right now
for fewest interceptions thrown in Monday night football games. And
(03:50):
so nobody plays better than Lamar Jackson. I think under
the lights.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Well you look at it, and in home primetime games,
he's he has thirty two touchdowns, twenty four passing, six rushing.
So like there's a million different stats about Lamar in general,
but when you add in, like the primetime element of
it there, you just continue to get more and more impressive.
But he's been awesome when it comes to these home
(04:17):
primetime games. Actually, he's been awesome in primetime just in general,
like he's been He's been excellent in that atmosphere and
he already is the best. He has the best passer
rating in NFL history overall. Right now, he also has
the best passer rating on Monday Night Football in NFL history.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
So in the stat I'm talking about, he has twenty
two touchdown passes without an interception on Monday Night Football.
That's the longest streak without a pick in Monday Football history.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Yeah, Okay, that's good.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yeah, And there's just enough evidence there for me, Like
it kind of goes to your original question, like is
there something to it?
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Yes, I think there is something to it.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Like Lamar has been so good in these primetime games
through his career, the Ravens have been so good in
these home primetime games throughout the franchise's history. Like, yes,
there is something to it. And it's a really tough
place to play, and Lamar seems to elevate on the stage.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
The Ravens faced the Lions two years ago and the
Ravens won thirty eight to six in a blowout. Yeah,
there's a lot of continuity with both of these teams.
You're going to see a lot of the same players
on both sides that were on the field that that afternoon.
How much do you feel like that plays into this
game tonight.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Yeah, My honest feeling is like not that much. And
I and to be truthful, like I almost hope not
that much, just in the sense of, like I hope
that there's no level Like last week, we spent all
this time talking about how the reminder of the twenty
four season when the Ravens lost the opener, came home
and then lost to the Raiders in a game that
(05:52):
everyone was picking them to win, how that was fresh
on the minds of the Ravens last week, that to
not have a repeat performance of that, And so like
you almost you don't want the knowledge of, hey, blew
these guys out two years ago. You don't want to
like think back to that and be like, we took
care of business, no problem two years ago. And to
be honest, like I don't get that sense from this
team and talking to them like that's not the feeling
(06:13):
that I have. I just think that was a game,
Like sometimes games just get off the tracks for a team,
and like the Ravens had a great plan for that game.
They dominated that game, and they were off to the races.
And to think that you're going to be able to
replicate that again, I think is probably a stretch. Like
I just don't, like, I'm not predicting thirty eight to
six in this game. I think that like that was
(06:34):
a pretty special day where a lot of things went
right for the Ravens.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
I think that it's more of a motivating factor for
the line.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
I think Dan Campbell, former player, very prideful guy. He's
he's I'm sure been banging that drum all week long
about how they they got after us and don't you
don't forget a loss like that, is what Dan Campbell said.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
And so.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
The Lions are a good team with privable players on
that side, and I'm sure that they're coming into this
kind of smarting to right the wrongs of the past.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
It's kind of funny like wherever you either way can
be used as motivation. So like the Lions, they're they're
they're hyping it up. You know, they're playing they're playing
the cliffs you know this week of talking about two
years ago how it went and using that as motivation.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
And you know, on the.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Flip side, like the Ravens are like, that's forever, that's
ancient history. You don't want to you don't want to
try to rest on your laurels of that game. So
I think that, like all that plays into the motivation aspect.
There's a lot of continuity too. I mean, another the
biggest thing that's changed from a continuity standpoint is that
there's two new coordinators in Detroit this year, not just
from two years ago but from last year. Ben Johnson's
(07:46):
now in Chicago as the offensive coordinator, Aaron Glenn the
defensive coordinators now with the New York Jets. So like,
those are pretty big changes to have to overcome. Same
head coach and Dan Campbell. But when you lose coordinators
are on both sides of side.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
So familiar with that here in Baltimore.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Yeah, like that's a massive change.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Yeah, yeah, it definitely is.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
And you know, after the Lions lost in Week one
to the Green Bay Packers in a game that kind
of got away from them a little bit, there are
a lot of questions about is this offense, Can this
offense be as high octane as it was a year
ago under Ben Johnson, And was it just the Ben
Johnson system that really had them flourishing.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
Well, you go.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
To the next week and they put up a fifty
burger on the Chicago Bears. Jared Goff throws five touchdown passes,
alm and Ross Saint Brown catches three of them, and
nobody's worried about the Lions offense all of a sudden,
it's number three in the league in scoring. So I
think that, yeah, anytime you have, especially two coordinators leave,
(08:47):
it takes a little bit of time to get over
But looks like they got over it.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Yeah, Well, John Harbaugh made the point that the offense
is pretty much unchanged from an overall schematic standpoint. Of course,
new coordinator puts his finger on it, but like, it's
not it's not a wholesale change in terms of what
they're what they're doing, which makes sense considering that there's
there's holdover in some of the coaches and the system
was highly effective under Ben Johnson, and so the Lions
(09:14):
keep those core elements in place.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
And it's so.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
I think for those reasons, like you can look back
at that game from two years ago from a schematic
standpoint and be like, what worked, What did we do well?
But I think that like that's I think the focus
from the game two years ago really should be on
the schematics standpoint, and it's less of like the emotional
stuff that we talked about earlier.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
All Right, so let's talk about some of the schematics
the Lions. I think it really starts at their offense.
As we just mentioned, very prolific offense, can be extremely explosive.
Jared Goff veteran quarterback. He's gone to the Super Bowl,
he's seen it done at all, and he's a traditional
pocket passer who gets the ball to his weapons and
(09:56):
he's got a lot of them, mentioned Aman Rossaint Brown.
He's one of the top the receivers in football. Jameson
Williams is one of the best big play threats. Had
two catches for one hundred and eight yards last week.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
The average right there. Yeah, it's pretty solid.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Uh, he's number three in the league currently in yards
per reception, behind one of those guys he's behind is
Anddre Hopkins. Actually, but James Williams probably got a step
or two on.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
D hop Most receivers everybody, he's one of the like
him versus actually an interesting and we're gonna talk about
some elements, but him versus eight Wagans. If they end
up matched up against each other, is an interesting that's
speed for speed right.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
There, Yes it is, uh And then they have a
great tight end in Sam Laporta.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
They have great running backs.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Jamier Gibbs is one of the most dynamic dual threat
running backs as a receiver and runner. David Montgomery's a
veteran running back who picks up a lot of tough yards.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
They just they're loaded.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Offensively, they have one of one of the best offensive
tackle tandems in the league, Taylor Decker on the left
side and Penai Sewel on the right side. I mean,
those guys are Pro bowlers, so they're tough for you.
Where does it start for the Ravens defensively in slowing
down this Lion's offense.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
The like the coach speak answers like stop the run
that you could say pretty much every week. I do
think that is important in this game because they are
play action based team. They'd like to run a lot
of those bootlegs and like, look, they put up gaudy
passing statistics, so it's not like they're a team that's
like that's they can win even if they're not running
the ball effectively, but like getting just in terms of
(11:40):
how they want to play, like they want to be
a team that establishes a run. That's part of their philosophy,
and then everything else operates off of that base on
play action. So I think the stopping the run is
really important. But in terms of the passing game, I
just look at the middle of the field. I think
that like, that's an area that I think the Ravens
are probably spending a lot of time discussing this week
in terms of how to stop their offense. Alman Ross
(12:02):
sain Brown, he can work the middle of the field
as good as anybody in the.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
League, like he is.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
He is a master in that area of the field,
fighting the saw spot in the defense, making tough catches
like he's great. Sam Laporta is also really good in
that part of the field. So I think and the
Ravens have when you look at it, They've got a
rookie safety and Malachi Starks. They have a rookie linebacker
who's playing a ton of snaps right now in Teddy Buchanan.
(12:27):
I think that the Lions are probably looking at this
defense and saying, let's challenge the young guys and see
if they can handle some of these veteran players coming
over the middle of the field and making chunk plays.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
Yeah, I agree with that.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Roquan Smith's coming off of his best game as a Raven,
maybe the best game in his career. He's going to
be critical in past coverage as well. You talk about
the need to stop the run. So the Ravens two
inside linebackers, I think paramount in this game. They have
to have a great game both against the run end
in coverage. As you're talking about, I think that the
(13:00):
Lions offense one, it's a rhythm based offense. Jared Goff
as you mentioned the play action he he is very
much an in rhythm quarterback. If you disrupt that rhythm,
I think that you can really throw them off. That's
how you get games like thirty eight to six. When
the Ravens faced the Lions last time, they sacked Jared
(13:21):
Goff five times. So to me, I think pressure is
of utmost importance in this game. Now, not a good
week to potentially expectedly be without Kyle van Noy, who's
dealing with a hamstring injury. Let the Ravens and sacks
a year ago. Okay, step right up.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Mike Green, the rookie second round pick, friend of the lounge.
But you're going to get I guess, podcast bump, podcast bomb.
He needs it, We need it. This week. You're going
against a very good offensive line. That's a tough.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Time for like Okay Pinasuill, one of the best in
football exactly, Taylor Decker on the other side, like that,
that's just a tough.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
Right, tough.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
So to me, it's got to be across the board.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
I mean, nomine mattabk Now, he was dealing with the
neck injury early in the week. I think odafe Oway
he's looking for his first second year he needs to win.
It has to be kind of across the board. From
a pass rush perspective, Travis Jones, all these guys, Tavius Robinson,
but at the end of the day, the Ravens need
to get pressure on Jared Goff. This is not a
(14:19):
cage rush situation. This is a go get that guy.
You're not worried about Jared Goff beating you with his legs.
You need to make him feel uncomfortable in the pocket.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Yeah, I think that's a good point.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
And so if you can get that pressure, it's It's
like two weeks ago when the Ravens were going up
against the Bills and Josh Allen, it's more like, don't
let him get out of the pocket and make plays
with his feet and then look for big opportunities down
the field like that.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
That's the conversation there.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
This is a little bit more in lign with what
the Ravens experienced last week when it was against the
Browns and Joe Flacco, where you want to just go
get the quarterback, disrupt the timing of the offense, and.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
That's I think it's good.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
It's a good offensive line, and it's it's a potent offense,
and they get rid the ball out of his hands
quickly a lot of times like they.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Can well, I mean, it depends on how much play action.
You know, if you're if you're doing play action, you're not. Now,
of course you have to kind of you have to
respect it. It depends on how much you have to
respect it you run.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
I know, I know, and and like so when you
look at their offense, it's like I mentioned the middle
of the field, talked about the running game. Those are
all things that they want to do in terms of
like establishing themselves. But like then the the X factor
with them is like it can be run, run, middle
of the field, middle of the field, boom, big play
to Jameis and Williams. And that's where like they they
(15:41):
don't really have like this great weakness and they can
if they're if they're moving the ball methodically, they can
do that. But then you have the Jameis and Williams
factor where it's like you can't you can't come up
too quick on the run because if that guy gets
a step on you, then he's going to take it
to the house. So that's like part of what his
ability to the defense I think makes life. Just adds
(16:03):
even more responsibility on the guys in the middle of
the field, the linebackers to be able to hold up
in the running game and also to try to make
plays in the passing game.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
YEP, completely agree. All right, let's flip it over to
the other side. What do you see for the Ravens
offense and how they attack a Detroit defense that comes
into this game. They're ranked tenth in the league in
terms of yards allowed, their twenty first in points twenty
four points per game allowed so far through it's two weeks. Yeah,
but you know they have some players on that defense.
(16:32):
Kirby Joseph at safety, one of the highest paid safeties.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
In the league.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
Yeah, before Kyle Hilton, and then Aiden Hutchinson coming off
a major leg injury. He looks like he's back to
his usual self. Now, how do you kind of size
up the Ravens matchup against their defense.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
I'd like to see the Ravens really win the line
of scrimmage. I think that at times they struggle to
do that. Against the Browns, we spent a lot of
time discussing that, and it's a really good defensive front
that Cleveland has. So I'm not like hitting the panic button,
but I do think the Ravens need to win the
line of scrammach I get Derek Derek Henry had no
room to run last week, correct, and if you can,
(17:10):
it's gonna be hard to win a lot of games
if Henry's getting hit in the backfield as much as
he was and just doesn't have an opportunity to get
into the open field.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Certainly, that was a typical the Ravens having that much
trouble running the ball. That was the fewest rushing yards.
Dereck Henry has had as a Raven. Yes, I think
the run game needs to get back on track. That
is going to be a massive part of this game plan.
I mean also just from a time of possession, keeping
the ball away from their offense. Like I think that
this game could very well turn into a shootout. You
(17:39):
have two excellent offenses. One way to kind of limit
that for the Ravens at least is to pound the
rock yea. And in order to do that, to your point,
you need to control the line of scrovege up front.
I don't think the offensive line had its best day
against Cleveland. And again it's a good front, like you're saying,
but it needs to have a better day against the lines.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
And like there's games like Aidan Hutchinson has game wrecking potential.
He can get into the backfield and make life really
hard on you. Miles Garrett a week ago has game
wrecking potential, and like those type of guys if they
can take over, and a lot of it focuses on
like their ability to bring pass rush, which like that
is what they're so great at, but if they can
(18:22):
also just disrupt things in the running game, then your
then your offense.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
Is out of storts.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
So I go back to just the Ravens controlling that
line of scrimmage, and I like, what do you think
do you think that this is going to be a
game where the Ravens come out really leaning on the
ground game and trying to establish that or do they
use the pass more to set up the run and say,
let's just let put the ball in Lamar Jackson's hands.
You guys just spent ten minutes talking about how he's
the best money in football quarterback of all time. Just
(18:48):
let him and the passing game kind of get things
going and then that will create opportunities for the offense.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Well, I remember early season also when when it was
a darkness falls game for the raven last year against
the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
How that how that game start? Draw off?
Speaker 2 (19:04):
That?
Speaker 4 (19:04):
What a eighty five yard touchdown run draw.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
The eighty five trap, the trap, crack back whatever it
was called last year. Let's run it back, Okay, Derrick
Henry out the gates to start. I like, you just
do the eighty five yard touchdown run off the bat.
I like that. That is a good play exactly. And
so it was a trap wham? I think it was,
Uh yeah, let's call that one. I think it's the
(19:28):
running game, okay. I think that you want to get
Derrick Henry back on track at this offensive line, playing downhill,
playing aggressively. I think it's established that, and then let
Lamar be Lamar playing off of that.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
It's funny.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
I I kind of lean the other way. I think that, like, really,
to me, Zay Flowers has been so good through two games.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
And like keep feeding them.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
I kind of think that, like, just get get the
ball to Za in space, let him move the chains,
let him pick up yardage, and then like back them
off a little bit.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
To me, there, their secondary is the Detroit Lions defensive strength.
I think Brian Branch is a really good kind of
versatile safety for them, in a different body certainly than
Kyle Hamilton, but in a similar kind of role, comes
down in the slot. He plays all over their defense.
You have Kirby Joseph, who I mentioned earlier. You have
(20:16):
Terry On Arnold who was a first round pick a
year ago, very good cornerback. So to me, I think
I attack them up front a little bit more than
I try to go after their secondary. Jack Campbell their
inside linebacker, who's a good player. The Ravens gave him
fits two years ago, gave him problems. And I also think,
(20:36):
is this a game where Lamar you have a little
bit more designed Lamar runs. I just often feel like
when the Ravens play against NFC teams who are not
used to seeing Lamar and this offense. Ye that it's
sure they saw it two years ago, but it's easy
to forget. Yeah, And I know they slign signed Malik
(20:59):
Cunningham to the practice squad to be there their shadow
of Lamar Jackson in practice.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Nah, there's one Lamar jacks Nah. Yeah. Yeah, So I
think I lean that way a little bit.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Yeah, It's it's fair like and and you mentioned their secondary.
A lot of good players there, Harry and Arnold has
struggled early in the season. He's given up more yards
and coverage one hundred and seventy five yards through two
weeks than anybody else in the league. And so like,
I mean, first round pick and so good, A lot
of talent there. I just wonder, you know, And again
(21:32):
I don't know if that's it's hard. You don't know
the coverage and the full breakdown there, But I just
want I just think of how how effective. Zay Flowers
has been at like getting this offense going, and to me,
that's like where my mind goes to try to like
just back the Lions off a little bit and then
get Lamar into a rhythm offensively.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
I'd like to get Bait going a little bit too,
or should I Baban? Yeah, you know, hasn't had huge
play yet, but you're going against an explosive offense on
the other side. Who's your most explosive receiver over the top,
let's beat and so I'd like to see him get going.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Yeah, I think the time is it's been quiet for
him two games end of the season. It's been quiet
for him and Mark Andrews. Those have been the two
guys in this passing game that have been out of
the mix.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
I think ultimately for the Ravens when we're talking about
Mark Andrews and whatnot, a lot of it's going to
come down the red zone too. Are you if you're
getting in a shootout, you cannot be kicking field goals
and winning shootouts. Yeah, you gotta be scoring touchdowns. And
so Mark Andrews is that guy.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Yeah? Can he can he get in the end Z
in this tonight?
Speaker 4 (22:38):
So we'll take a quick break.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
When we come back, we'll give you our final thoughts
of what to expect.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
In this Monday night football showdown.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
You're listening to the Lounge podcast. We're coming to from
Seakkeek Studio. We want to mention our partners with Draft
King sports Book. They are an official sports betting partner
of the Baltimore Ravens Draft Kings Sportsbook. The crown is
yours so quickly here on the offense, like last week
it was everybody getting in all of Tyler Wallas touchdowns,
avontees Walker two touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
We just talked about Bateman, Mark Andrews.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
What is your.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Feeling on kind of who the go to target is
within this offense in this game?
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Like, is it is it Zay? Is it Bateman?
Speaker 2 (23:13):
Like you're talking about, is it does DeAndre Hopkins just
making incredible?
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Who's the poison that gets picked?
Speaker 4 (23:19):
Yeah? Who's the poison in this game?
Speaker 3 (23:20):
I think Derrick Henry is the poison?
Speaker 4 (23:22):
Okay, there we go.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
I like that I'm sick of with Zay and you're
and you're going with Dereck Henry. Well, look, Derick Henry's
he has shown like if he has a quiet game.
That's not a trend like that's that he doesn't have
many back to back quiet games in his career. So
I think that, like it's a safe assumption to think
that he's going to get back on track on this
running game is going to get rolling again.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
You talk about guys who also seems to rise to
the occasion in primetime football, Derrick Henry, he's one of them.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Yeah, that's the Buffalo Bills about that.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
Right, No doubt, no doubt.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
I mean he plays, he plays great in big situations,
So I could certainly see that being the case tonight.
The last point like that I have going into this
one is I just I'm curious to see the rookies,
uh and what kind of impact they have, because like.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Here's one rookie I'm looking forward to about Tyler Loop. Yeah, look,
we all know the.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Ravens and the Detroit Lions have a little history with
the kickers. Justin Tucker plunged that that dagger deep a
couple of times to Lions fans. How about his replacement, Yeah,
Tyler Loop coming in game winner, sixty seven yards.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Sixty seven your hearts.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
Yeah, that would that would be crazy, That would be crazy.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
Yeah, it's not in Detroit though, that's the only thing.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
That's that's the difference.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Yeah, Loop is an interesting one because like he's been
good through two games, missed an extra point against Buffalo,
has has hit long kicks.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
But I think overall, I've been.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Pleased with what we've seen from Loop through two games.
But like you just rookie class Malachi Starks I mentioned
him both with Jamison Williams.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
And the middle of the field soff big game from Alky.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Mike Green stepping into a large role in this game
with the injury to Kyle van Noy. He's looking for
his first sack. Ted Buchanan talked about him Tyle Loop,
like there's there's a lot of responsibility on these guys,
and I think.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
That even the Peebles, you know, you talk about getting
past Rush interior pass Rush. Peoples is a guy that's
been flashing. And so I'm going to you know what,
I'm predicting first sack.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
For Peoples for full that's that's his nickname.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
If you wants People's first sack of his career against
Jared Golf, so.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
You have you have the first sack for Peebles. We
have a game winner.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
For Loop has a sixty seven yard seven winner. They
got the eighty five yard touchdown for Derrick Henry. Did
you say Mike Green first sacked too.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
I didn't predict that one, but sure he has at
all and Malik I start except before the season, Well
we need to pick.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
That that he wanted to pick off Jared Goff, so
first pick for.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Jared Golf specifically.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Yeah, yeah, during an interview.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Yeah right, So so chuck that up.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
It's the rook It's a rookie show, all right. I
like that.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
So it's gonna be a lot of fun. As we
talked about off the top, like this atmosphere is. I
know I'm biased, but I've I've been to all the stadiums.
I've seen everybody's game to entertainment. Like the atmosphere for
an MFTY base Stadium primetime game is second to nine.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
And I've had reporters of like opposing city reporters say
to me like that was unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
Yeah, it really is.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
It's something special and you want to get to your
seats early kickoffs at eight fifteen gets your seats by
seven fifty five so you can see all the pregame festivities.
The introductions, the lights going out, all the darkness fall
stuff is so cool.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
So I just can't wait. It's gonna be a lot of.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Fun to be loud. Loud, be loud, just drop that offense.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Lions fans are known for traveling, well, I want to
see a lot of purple in those stands, drowning them out.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Yeah, it's gonna be great.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
So thank you so much for listening, and we will
be back with you after the game tonight.
