your podcasts. Hey faithful, Welcome back to The Saloon presented
by Cisco. I'm your forty nine Ers team reporter Brianna
Janelle and joining me today to recap the forty nine
ers twenty to nine win over the Panthers on Monday
night football is can be ours Adam Copeland. Adam, thanks
(01:03):
for joining me. How's your Thanksgiving week going so far?
Speaker 2 (01:06):
If you going well, tell us a weird week.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
You get one Monday night football game and then it's
already like midwek a Tuesday, and then already Week thirteen
starts on Thursday. For play to James, we get the
Black Friday game now.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
So I'm excited.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
I mean one of my favorite times of the year
where we're starting to get the November weather in the
Bay Area. It's been it's been kind of cool, especially
with the Niners at eight and four.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yeah, exactly, a lot of fun. We got a victory Tuesday,
Thanksgiving is coming up and the Cleveland Browns are up
next now. To start, the forty nine Ers dominated the
Panthers in all three phases on Monday Night. What stood
out most to you about their performance?
Speaker 2 (01:39):
What's that up? Most?
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Has to be the defense, right, I mean, it's so
funny because at the start of the year. I remember
we talked all offseason, you know, in the pregame shows
and threat trending camp and going into the start of
this year, about how the offense was going to have
to be the calling card for the forty nine ers.
They would have to carry a young defense. They used
eleven draft picks to the Niners. They had to sort
of rebuild the defense and a lot of new faces
and a lot of opportunities for young guys to play.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
And really it was the defense. Early on they kind
of made it happen for the Niners.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
But as they've gotten more banged up and decimated, they
had to rely on a lot of younger players. You know,
they're down to it to Curtis Robinson, the third string
middle linebacker. But what's starting to really stand out over
the last couple of weeks is.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
The young secondary.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
The secondary appears to be maybe the deepest part of
the defense, and while they haven't been able to create
and generate a lot of pass rush and pressure to
force turnovers, in the last two weeks, they've turned it
over five times their opposition, including four interceptions, something we
hadn't seen in almost a full calendar year going back
to last season games with two interceptions by a forty
nine or defense. So oddly enough, while the Panthers are
(02:38):
a team that don't score a lot of points, I
think they're averaging fewer than eighteen points a game or
nineteen points a game coming into the Monday night until
the defense held them.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Off the board.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
And it's very rare that you can turn it over
the way the Niners did three consecutive drives three times
and the defense held them to just three points off
of those turnovers.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
So JY. R.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Brown, the young secondary Malak Mustappas played really well coming
back from the injury. I think that's been the most
exciting and optimistic part of the defense to this point.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah, the Carolina Panthers, they came into Levi Stadium hot,
but the forty nine Ers defense is a lot hotter.
I'll ask again about Jai Yeer in just a second here,
but looking at the offense, Christian McCaffrey had another incredible game,
this time against his former team. How impressive has he
been this season and just carrying the offense leading the
league in total scrimmage yards.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
It's pretty incredible because it's not just the scrimmage yards
and the rushing yards.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
And I know the running game hasn't been there in
the way.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
That Niners needed to be, but he's on pace right
now to be the first time the first player to
go thousand receiving yards thousand rushing yards in a season twice.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
He's already turn that as a member of the Panthers.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
What's really interesting is word in agent football, where only
quarterbacks can win the MVP, and then the Offensive Player
of the Year usually goes for like the best offensive
player who's not a quarterbacker in some cases like Lamar
Jackson won it last year. I know Jackson Smith and
jig Ben Seattle is the favorite right now. But what's
interesting is the forty nine Ers wouldn't be eight and
four without McCaffrey, right, it's what he did as the
(04:04):
number one receiver for them. He's like leading the NFL
or he's second in the NFL and in receptions through
twelve games now, he's got more receptions than Pukaakua, and
I know he's played fewer games, but there's nobody in
the league who's got the number of touches and his
shouldering the load that he's shouldering. He's the most valuable
player for the forty nine Ers, and while his numbers
are not going to be gaudy, I don't think at
the end of the year, relative to his peers.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
He's the most valuable app that they have.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
He's been incredible and it's funny it's the first time
he'd ever played against Carolina since coming over.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
It's not a team the Niners cee often.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
But you pointed out twenty four carries for him in
the game on Monday, eighty nine more yards plus seven
catches on seven targets for fifty three thirty one total
catches and one hundred and forty two yards. I don't
think we've ever seen anybody like Christian McCaffrey come through
a forty nine Ers organization and he's one of the
greatest to ever do it. So it's really encouraging that
after last year with the bilateral Achilles pendonitis did, he's
(04:54):
not just come back to for him that he's basically
the exact same guy we saw winning one Offensive Player
of the Year in twenty twenty three.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah, I know he's on fire right now. And speaking
of those quarterbacks, rock Perty's second consecutive game as he
made his way back from injury. He addressed what he
saw with those interceptions, but nevertheless showed great resilience and
helped the forty nine ers secure the win. I want
to hear your thoughts on the offense from Monday's win
and how Party was able to just find his playmakers.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Like, it was interesting because they opened the game really sharp, right.
They started fast, kind of like they did against Arizona.
I mean Arizona, you couldn't start any faster with a
ninety eight yard tick return to start the game. But
they put together a really nice drive fifteen plays seventy
two yards. And by the way, just another note on McCaffrey.
He caught the ball around the ball on the first
five plays of the game and of that fifteen play drive.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
He had nine touches on that opening drive.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
I think what you're seeing from Brock, I mean, I
know he wasn't as sharp as he was two weeks
ago in Arizona. What we saw was his ability to
put guys.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
In position to make plays.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
In the second half, he was nine for nine and
they kind of changed the game plan get a couple
of big throws at the end of the first half
to find Kittle for a setup field goal that gave
them a bigger lead, a seven point lead going into
the half. I think, really what we're trying to see
from Brock here is how does he bounce back from
a performance like this where it's the first time in
his career that they won a game where he threw
three or more interceptions. He threw four against Baltimore on
(06:15):
Christmas a couple of years ago, three last year against
Kansas City, but the team in the defense didn't really.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Pick him up.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
I mean, Lamar Jacks indeed him the run game of
Kansas City beat them badly last year. They overcame adversity
in this one because the defense kept the minute. I
definitely think, and I think a lot of forty nine
Er fans are split on this. The Brock gives them
the best chance to win, and I think that was
evident by what we saw in his performance in Week
eleven against Arizona.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
But really it's about him delivering the ball. His accuracy
is his best asset.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
I think it's not the arm strength, it's where he
can put the ball where only his players can get
to it. He was not that accurate, but he made
good decisions on Monday, and that's why they came away
with a win. I haven't I haven't lost any confidence
in Brock. You just hope that the health is going
to hold up well enough for him through the rest
of the year.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Great point. And on that note with McCaffrey, like what
a way to make a statement against your former team, right, Yes,
I mean it's incredible.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
I just they just it was handoff, handoff, dump off
to McAffrey. And it's not like the ball was going
deep downfield. But when the ball's in his hands, he
makes things happen. And it's interesting too because the offense
is as is as healthy now as it's been all
season long, right, like getting Ricky Pierce all back if
he hasn't had a big performance since his return. He's
been on the field for a majority of the offensive snaps.
He helps them stretch the field. He gives them more
(07:28):
motion in the backfield, and it opens up more for McCaffrey,
in George Kittle, even Jawan Jennings. I think that's why
we start to see those guys produce more in the
passing game. But it is exciting. I think they've got
to be a top ten offense in the final several
weeks of the season here, not from where they were
when Brock took over, but if they could be a
top ten offense in scoring, i's a team that's going
to be dangerous. And the way the NFC looks right now,
there's not a lot of teams you trust. I mean,
(07:49):
the Rams are are the best team in football, but
don't tell me that the Niners can't beat him. I
mean they went down to la and beat him on
a short week with Mac Jones.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
And a banged up defense.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
So you know, you get to the playoffs with Kyle
Shanahan and he gives you an opportunity. I just think
the offense has got to be putting up more scorers
in the red zone. They've got to stay effective on
third down, and they've been one of the best teams
in football doing that offensively already this year.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Well, on your note earlier about this Niners defense, Jay
year Brown NFC Player of the Week. He had two
interceptions in a standout defensive performance. Just how important was
he in controlling the momentum against Carolina because the Panthers
could have scored on that drive his first interception right there.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Yeah, I mean it was enormous what he did in
this game, legitimately his greatest game.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
It was a forty nine er.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
I mean, props to him for winning that award, but
even more so, I'm so happy for him because I
think a lot of times what happens and we're victims
of this or we're guilty of this, I should say
in the media where a player gets drafted and he
was I think it was a third round draft pick
and be a number two round draft pick. But you're
excited about what that guy can bring to the table,
and they need time to develop, right. A player's got
to make a lot of adjustments and understand what his
(08:53):
role is and how the NFL game works. And he
was thrust into a lot of gameplay his rookie year
due to injuries to guys like Kalano Hufanga, and then
he kind of played his way out of it with
Malik Mustafa coming on strong last year. He's a guy
who was on the bench earlier this season, had lost
his starting job, and I think there was a thought
that maybe he was going to kind of fall by
the wayside, and instead he came back and he's reclaimed
(09:13):
his position. He's been one of the more valuable players
for the forty nine ers. I love watching young players
develop and grow and grab an opportunity when it's in.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Front of them. And he made two games changing plays.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
I mean, you pointed out that interception that Bryce Young
threw a terrible decision. I thought to throw the ball
on first and goal for the one, but he made
the play. I mean, you got to come away with it.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
There's been a lot of tip.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Passes and balls into the hands and stomachs of defenders
this year and they have not pulled it down the
last couple of weeks. They have so props to him,
and the better he plays, the more he plays in
the way that he has over the top in the
last couple of weeks and over the last four or
five weeks. Really, it's going to make opposing quarterbacks really
have to consider what the defense and the young secondary
is capable of doing, because throwing it downfield against the
(09:53):
Niners wall they haven't been great against, the pass is
becoming more difficult.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Yeah, you're right, ja Year. He was drafted in the
third round in twenty twenty three, but that was the
year the Niners didn't have a first round draft pick.
They didn't have a second round draft pick, so Jaiyear
was the first pick for the Niners in twenty twenty three.
But let's look ahead to the Cleveland Browns. What matchups
will be the most exciting this one? Are you looking
at shaidaras Sanders rookie momentum, maybe Miles Garrett against tent Williams.
(10:19):
What are some of the biggest things for a week thirteen?
Speaker 3 (10:22):
I think when you play Cleveland, the number one thing
you've got to look at is the defensive line. I mean,
this is a team it's really not a very good
football team at all. And you may have Miles Garrett
winning Defensive Player of the Year, yet again, he's had
like fifteen sacks in the last four games or something.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Hit a game where they lost and he recorded five sacks.
They hit the.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Raiders that they hit at Gino Smith of the Raiders
last week, ten different times did they get home, whether
it was a QB hit or a sack. The defensive
line for the for the Browns is really good and
really stout. Also, the forty nine Ers just don't have
good success there haven't won a game in Cleveland since
nineteen eighty four. Remember a few years ago, they had
an opportunity where Jake Moody missed the field goal at
(10:58):
the end. It was kind of a rainy day, but
they were banged up, didn't have Trent, didn't have Debo.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Brendan Ayuke hat a huge game that day.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
So this is going to be a much different looking
forty nine Er team and a much different looking Browns team.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
But that defense is their calling card.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
So when I'm thinking matchups, I'm going offensive line against
Miles Garrett.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
The defensive line has.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
Got to stop Quinshawn Judkins, a big power running back
for the Browns who they drafted early this year and
has been a nice piece for them. Shador Sanders against
rober Sala, a rookie quarterback. Make it his second career
start against a veteran defensive coordinator. And then on the
other side, I think the matchup of the day has
to be Jim.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Schwartz against Kyle Shanahan.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
The defensive coordinator of Cleveland has been a master at
stopping forty nine our offenses, and if you were going
to find one piece of Krypton, I think for Kyle
Shanahan in his time as a head coach, it's been
guys like Jim Schwartz. It does a really, really good
job of scheming it up. This is going to be,
I think, a low scoring game, and it's going to
be a premium possession type of game where like the
Race to twenty could win it. So there's a lot
(11:51):
of intriguing matchups in this one. Plus got to deal
with maybe some moisture and some weather and some bodyclock
stuff in Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
So I'm excited for this game.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Considering how bad of a season Cleveland's had and where
the forty nine ers are, I think this game is
a tough one.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
It's got a lot more juice than I initially thought
it would.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Yeah, definitely, I'm excited to watch these defenses eat in
Week thirteen now a win in Arizona, a win in
primetime against the Panther is how important will this win
against the Browns be for the forty nine ers to
keep building momentum as we get later in the regular season.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Well, it's enormous, right, because they're running out of games
on the schedule that look like games that are you.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Know, you never you never know because it's a it's
a pro football season.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
And these guys, these guys make money in drive Cadillacs
two right on the other side, So even bad teams
are professional teams. But you're running out of games where
you're like, they should win that game. If they were
to lose an Indy later in the year, you'd go,
that's a really good team. They're playing at a high level,
one of the best teams in football, and it's on
the road. The Chicago Bears game is a massive game,
and that last game of the year against Seattle is
looking like it's going to decide where seeding is going
(12:52):
to go for either of these teams, and maybe if
the Rams falter at all, an opportunity for one of
them to claim the division. But think about where the
Niners could be if they win this game. They'll be
at nine to four into a bye week, coming out
of the by with a should win game against Tennessee.
I mean that team has one win right now and
ten losses. That's an absolute should win game at home
for the Niners if they can be at ten wins
going into week fifteen or I think it's Week sixteen,
(13:14):
I guess against them against Indianapolis. I mean you're looking
like if you go one and two at the end
of the year, you could be at eleven and six
and already ice or lock up a playoff spot. So
right now it's the race to ten wins. I think
they got to get to ten as a minimum, and.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Again that win against the Bears.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
The game against the Bears late in the season is
going to be huge for tie break. But if they're
at nine wins going into the buy, I cannot see
a reason that this team should should have hopefully not
climb themselves out of the seven seed, maybe even climb
as high as five or six. But you gotta stack
wins against inferior teams. This is not a team to
ride off because of the defense, but a win here
into the bye week building momentum three consecutive that would
(13:50):
be enormous, and then being fresh on the back end
after the BUYE could vote really well for a Kyle
Shanahank coach team.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Yeah, this is a big one, Faithful, Adam, thank you
so much for your insight on this one. I hope
you enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving week you too,
Happy Thanksgiving, bre Happy Thanksgiving. That was my conversation with
Adam Copeland. We've got the Cleveland Browns on deck, but
for now, I'm going to take it back a bit
to hear from sky Moore. I sat down with him
for a one on one interview before the Monday night
(14:18):
football game. Check it out right here, Hey, Faithful, this
is your team REPORTERA Janelle, and I'm sitting down with
wide receiver Sky Moore right before Monday night football Panthers
Niners here at Levi Stadium. How are you feeling?
Speaker 4 (14:30):
I feel good, you know, ready to go into this
primetime matchup and you know, show out for the world exactly.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Well, we can't sit down and talk with you without
talking about that huge play against the Cardinals in Arizona.
You finally broke free with that ninety eight yard return
after feeling just one block away all season. What clicked
on that play?
Speaker 4 (14:52):
Yeah, like you said, it was always one block away,
like each week, I felt like in that particular one,
I had every block I needed. I just ran out
of gas at the end. Hopefully we'll be able to
punch that one in coming on Monday.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Yeah, yeah, you were joking about running out of gas
during that game. But what did those last twenty yards
feel like? Like, tell us what you're thinking, what you're seeing.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
So once I seen the kicker, I knew like I'm
trying to go to the house. But the last twenty
yards I felt they're feeling like all like a running
one hundred yards full speed is hard and dodging people
while exactly so, you know, I started feeling that at
the end. But I feel like I could do it,
but I just needed to. I just needed to know
(15:35):
like there was somebody super fast chasing me from the beginning.
Speaker 5 (15:39):
Fun.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Fun. Now, after watching the tape and digesting it, this
is your time to give some shout outs to some
of your teammates who were able to make that ninety
eight yard a possible.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
Yeah, shout out you know, everybody on the front line, Sarenne,
Nick Martin, give b Rob you know he came through
with the block, My boy, Jpen everybody, you know, everybody
that's in the front line. Sorry if I forgot you though.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
No, it's been fun to watch special teams so far
this season. Both you and Brian are having success in
that return game. How helpful is that?
Speaker 2 (16:08):
You know?
Speaker 1 (16:09):
How does it stress a coverage unit when things open
up for both of y'all?
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Yeah? You see, after I had that return, they tried
to kick to him and he ripped it for a
fifty yard or two. So when you have like a
one two punchs like that, I feel like it makes
you know all of the difference, especially for our offense,
you know, starting to uh, starting to drive with a.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Short field definitely fun. Now I want to get to
know a little bit more about Sky. Your mom said
that when you were one year old, you called yourself
baby Genius. Do you remember hearing that story growing up?
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (16:40):
I do remember hearing that three How did you hear
that's three?
Speaker 5 (16:42):
There?
Speaker 1 (16:42):
I mean, I do my research.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
Nah, I forget. I remember her saying that she tells
everybody that story. But she said, she said, I would
like introduce myself as baby Genius, But I don't remember that,
but I do feel like I know everything a little bit.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Sometimes it's good. You need to have that confidence, especially
as a returner.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Now.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
She also said that you used to sleep in a
football helmet and you would smack it back on your
head if anyone tried taking it away from you.
Speaker 5 (17:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Do you think that early obsession shows up and how
you play today? Uh?
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Just I feel like just where I grew up, just
in the Pittsburgh area, just it's like all we know
is football. So that obsession for sure drove me to
be become what I am today.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
For sure.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
I love hearing that. Now. I'm assuming the love for
the game is only grown since then.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, especially making it to this level, you
got to you gotta find a different way to love
the game each year, because you know, days like this,
even like today, like a Thursday practice, it's a it's
redundant as you go through twenty weeks in the NFL,
So finding new ways to love the game is the
way to go.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
For sure.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
How have you learned to love the game in a
new way since it's your first time here in the
Bay Area, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
I would say me coming from Kansas City, you know,
coming from like a team that's been to so many
big stages and then now I'm on I'm on another
team that it's just different. It's just a different organization,
same goal. So I feel like I'm accomplishing the same
(18:14):
goal with new people. And you find new ways to
love the game in that manner for sure. Just learning
about yourself, learning about what you're good at, and you know,
how do you can adapt?
Speaker 6 (18:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Sweet, I think you were all over the field growing up, right, So, quarterback,
d B. What other positions did you play outside of
wide receiver?
Speaker 4 (18:31):
I played every position I started. I started as an
old lineman. Wow, okay, I was a fat kid. So
I started as an old lineman, went to like running back.
Then I was like a D. I was a D
lineman too, and I played middle linebacker.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
I was everything, Okay, every single position. Yeah, for sure,
wide receiver. I'm assuming it has to be your favorite.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
Wide receiver actually was my Yeah it is now it
is now you can say that. But I like, I
love corner. I like playing corner for sure.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
What have you learned from playing other positions that's helped
you in the receiving game.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
I feel like nothing, nothing, really helped me for real.
It's just like I'm a football player, so I just
I just go out there and play well.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Okay. I can hear it from talking with you, from
watching your game that you're just very confident. To be
a returner. You have to be confident, there's no other choice.
How you felt that confidence grow within you throughout your
entire career.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Uh, it took a lot of work because I would
say coming in like my rookie year, I never was
a return I hasn't haven't been a returner until my
rookie year in my career, and Coach told he put
me back out there. He put me out there as
a punk returner. And I'm telling him, like, yo, I
never did this before. So my rookie year, I dropped
(19:48):
four punts and that and that like that like stung
me early in my career. So I told him I
didn't want to be a returner anymore.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Like I was.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
I was kind of like scared of it. So but
I just kept working, working, working, knowing like if they
ever called my name again for this, for this job,
I got to be ready. And I feel like that's
where I'm at right now with it. Where it's like
I needed. I needed to fill a void that the
forty nine ers need, and I feel like I'm doing
a pretty good job at it at this point.

So keep doing this and keep going. I appreciate working
with you guys every day.
Speaker 2 (34:29):

Scott van Pell, the legend himself.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Wow, it's what an honor.
Speaker 5 (34:46):
I think.
Speaker 12 (34:46):
We build a fantastic culture here. We have a great
foundation of people, you know, guys who've been there for
a long time that kind of set the tone and
the Four Narrows organization. We have a standard of which
we play at which we try to hold each other
accountable to, and even when your best players are out,
we still want to hold guys to that standard. And
you know, whether it's spread, you know, sitting in the
linebackers meetings, helping those guys out, both helping out the
D line, me helping out the tight ends. When I
(35:07):
was out for a couple of weeks, you know, Mac
Jones stepping in and had a great, great stint for us.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
It's just awesome.
Speaker 12 (35:13):
And I just put a lot of credit on you know,
Coach Shanahan, Uh, Coach Salin, this is all the assistant
coaches for just keeping that standard up and just hey, guys, Yeah,
it is an X man out. But we're always trying
to tell guys it's like the NFL.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Is the land of opportunity.
Speaker 9 (35:25):
Man.
Speaker 12 (35:25):
You don't know when you're gonna get your chance, and
you might not be ready for that chance, but it
doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
Life's not waiting for you.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Man.
Speaker 12 (35:30):
You gotta go out there and take that opportunity.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
You got to take control of that.
Speaker 12 (35:33):
I think that's what our guys did tonight, and we're
gonna continue to just get a little bit better every
single week out all.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Right, faith weel.
Speaker 9 (35:38):
I'm on the field at Levi Stadium right after the
forty nine Ers Monday Night football win over the Carolina
Panthers with Curtis Robinson. Curtis your first official NFL start.
How are you feeling after this win?
Speaker 6 (35:50):
I mean, it always feels great to get a win,
especially at home in front of the faithful and lebas
on Monday Night, and it doesn't get any more special
than this. You know, I feel like I could have
done a lot better, but we got the team wins, so.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
I'm feeling great, amazing.
Speaker 9 (35:59):
Now this is a big opportunity for you to start
in prime time. Tell me what your preparation was like
this week.
Speaker 6 (36:06):
You know, I mean, I've been fortunate to be around
some great guys. They taught me to prepare like you're
starting evil when you're not.
Speaker 5 (36:10):
So I won't say it changed too much.
Speaker 6 (36:12):
You know, my urgency was obviously up, and I felt
like I owed it to the whole team, especially the defense.
So we have so many guys that are fighting through
and you know, tough injuries and just person those things,
and I just wanted to make sure I was my
best for them.
Speaker 5 (36:22):
What would you go out?
Speaker 6 (36:22):
The form me?
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Amazing?
Speaker 9 (36:23):
Now, the Carolina Panthers, they were rolling in hot, especially
on the road, but this Niners defense stops them here
at Levi Stadium. How proud are you of this defense?
Speaker 6 (36:32):
You know, I'm really proud. You know that we all
came out and we were far on all cylinder. Salah
had us on all the right calls at all the
right times, and I just I.
Speaker 5 (36:39):
Love the way that everyone played it.
Speaker 12 (36:40):
It was great to be out there for the first
time with those guys.
Speaker 9 (36:42):
I really love you now another big win anytime time
at home. Just how much fun did you have tonight?
Speaker 6 (36:47):
I had a blast, man Like I've been waiting for
something like this my whole career, and to be able
to do it at home and in front of fans
like this, it was awesome.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
If it doesn't even feel real.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
Congrats Curtis. Enjoy the wind, appreciate it.
