your podcasts. Hey faith Well, welcome back to The Saloon
presented by Cisco. I'm your forty nine Ers team reporter
Brianna Janelle. I'm with Hey, Zus and Carlos. Right after
a tough road loss. The forty nine ers are foreign
to this still on top of the NFC West guys,
just initial reaction.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
From the game.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
I know the biggest news coming out of this contest
is that San Francisco suffered a major setback with the
loss of team captain and All Pro linebacker Fred Warner,
who fractured and.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Dislocated his ankle.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Obviously not the news we want to hear, but the
biggest news coming out of Sunday. Just thoughts and feelings
coming out of this game.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Well, it makes me really sad.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
I feel like and we talked about it before the
season started. When you look at the of the game schedule,
this was a game that I thought you could lose.
You know, you're you're facing a team that has been
very consistent right now, it's playing fantastically.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
You're on the road, you're in Florida.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
There's there's heat, there's humidity, it's all the way across
the country. So it had all the elements that it's
a game that you can lose. But losing the game
is different from losing one of your biggest pieces. And
it not just losing Fred Warner the player. It's what
he means for the organization, what he means for the
locker room, and also in the way that he happens.
Because one thing is like, well, I have a hamstring injury.

(01:56):
I'm gonna be silined for six seven weeks because it's
just a pool compared to like it's it's very graphic.
It's it's you get out on the cart, everybody runs
into the field like it's immediate, because you see how
like graphic the injury is.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
And that also plays a tonel on the rest of your.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Team because you lose your leader, you lose basically your
commander in chief in the defense and then all of
a sudden, you know you're not gonna have him, and
whether you want it or not, when you're playing, the
first thing you're thinking is like, could that happened to me?
And the moment that clicks on a player, you start
losing concentration during the game. And I feel that I
was a little bit of what happened. And what makes
me really sad is just like you have a player,

(02:33):
if there's a player that means consistency in the NFL,
which is not easy to do, and especially.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
When you play defense.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
It's for Warner missing one game in easy eight seasons,
it's astronomically difficult. It just talks about the work that
Fred does, the kind of player that he is, the
kind of person.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
That he is.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
So that's why it's a big hit and that's what
just makes you really sad about this loss.

Speaker 6 (02:53):
Yeah, I totally agree with Carlos is devastating. I got
the same feeling like the day when when we lost
Nick Bosa, because even then that day was a victory Monday, right,
they beat the Cardinals, but you're still felt really but
it didn't feel that that day like a victory Monday
because you lost Nick Bosa and now you lose Fred Warner.

(03:14):
For those two guys, for for Bosa, for Warner, I
think there's there's no such thing as man the nest
man now, but you know, in the NFL, there's always
this mentality and you need to have it, you need
to have the nest man mentality. But I think that
doesn't apply to to Fred Warner or to a Nick
Boss that we're talking about future Hall of famers here,

(03:35):
guys that are.

Speaker 7 (03:36):
All pros on the field and off the field.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
I mean, in the case of Fred Warner, we see
it like every every week, like on Wednesdays when he
speaks to the media. He's always very professional on the
field off the field, and you're gonna miss everything about him,
his talent, his leadership. So it's something really devastating. But
I mean that's the NFL. I mean, that's that's the
that's the reality. And and I'm very sure that knowing

(04:03):
how Fred Warner is, the great speeches he's always giving
to his teammates during the game before the game, I'm
pretty sure he wants his defense to to keep going,
to keep grinding.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Speaking of those speeches, Fred Warner even gave a postgame
locker room speech right after that Bucks game, and no
one asked him to do it. He did it out
of his own heart, and Kyle Shanahan highlighted that fact,
showing that that's his character, his connection with his teammates,
and just how much of a captain he is of
this team. And like you said, Heyzus, there's no replacing
Nick Bosa, there's no replacing Fred Warner. But the question

(04:36):
that we're all dealing with now is where do we
go from here? From her as his perspective, how does
the forty nine Ers defense work to move forward for
the rest of the season without a Bosa, without a
Fred Warner.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Oh, we were just talking about that.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
I think this is Robert Sala's biggest challenge ever, even
more so than being head coach of the New Year Jets.
And the only reason why I mentioned that is that
he kind of was in a seminar situation in twenty twenty,
that year of the pandemic when he lost Nick Bosa too,
and there was a lot of injuries in the team
in general.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
But he didn't lose for the Warner that one time.
And you still have that commander in achieved in the defense,
that was able to organize, and there was even if
there was the next man of mentality and you have
this guy that's here, Fred was able to accompany him,
and Fred was able to put him in a position
where he could do things the right way.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Now you don't have both, and that's going to be
really tough for Salah, and I feel like it comes
down to him. Somebody needs to set up to be
the next like big captain there, which I feel like
in this case, I will put I don't know how
it's going to be again, like this is just me speculating,
but I feel like the next man up for that
job is dem Molnor. I think he's the one that,
being one of the most permanent teams prominent players in

(05:44):
the defense, he's the one that needs to stop and
kind of become the captain of the defense. He plays
in a position the secondary where he can see things
and he can organize and he can help out with his teammates.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
So he needs to have a player.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
But the difference is that a lot of it has
to come from the defensive coordinating team because now before
you could rely on these guys right like you could
rely on Nick, but you can rely on Fred because
he was basically Handlin an extra coordinator, an extra coach
inside the field. Now you don't have that, so you
have to coach a little more from the outside, especially
because you have so many young players.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
But that's how you got to do it.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
You got to find new roles, new ways of doing things,
knowing that some things you get comfortable, right like when
you have some player like Fred Warner and I'm like,
do I need to do I really need to cover
the center of the field.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
No, I don't, will you see it?

Speaker 4 (06:29):
I don't have to plan for that because I know
I have that player that will do that for me.
Now you actually need to cover for That's like, how
am I gonna put my mic linebacker in the middle
of the field so they don't make that throw on
the second level? Or how am I gonna make the
one of the linebackers whether it's the same of the wheel,
or if you only plan with two to go to
the flat and cover that. But you actually need a
camp for it. Before you didn't have to because Fred

(06:49):
will get you. It was like he will take the
winters to go over there and he will go back
there on itself, he'll plug the hole on the A
gap like he could do those things by himself. Now
you actually need to prepare for it. Yeah, it be
a collective effort.

Speaker 6 (06:59):
Is not just one guy, even though like the guy
that literally replaces Fred Warner on Sunday, it was tay
On Betune and he ended up leading the team in
sacks with ten. Yeah, in tackles, which was in sex, Yeah,
it was. It was in tackles, career high in tackles.
This is the first time that he reaches ten tackles

(07:20):
in in his UH in his car rear for Tatum
Betun and he's a guy that obviously is not the
same thing in pre season, but I like him during
the precision games. I like how Tatum Btun is progressing,
but it's not the same thing on the in the
regular season. And Kyle Shanahan, I think is playing really well.
On Monday, he says he's gonna have to feel in
for that Mike UH position, linebacker Mike linebacker position, and

(07:43):
he's like and Shanahan said, he's like the quarter that
that position is like the quarterback of the of the defense.
So it's a huge challenge for Tatum Betun. But again,
it's not just it's not gonna be just Beton in
disneys by Committy, a collective effort to make the defense
player at least decently because now without those guys both

(08:05):
a warner, we're not expecting, like the forty nine ers
difference to be top ten, but at least play decent football.
So you give your offense a chance because on the
offensive side of the ball, you still have a lot
of stars once you obviously he said, maybe you're getting
kiddled back this week, so you got McCaffrey already in there,

(08:26):
you got Trenk Williams, so you got on the offensive
side of the ball, you've got future Hall of famers. Still,
you still have big names over there. So the defens
just needs to at least play decent football, not allowed
like every game, like I don't know, more than twenty
five points per game, to give the offense a chance.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Unfortunate circumstances we're dealing with here with a lot of
players down, but still a lot of bright spots on
that defense, like Tatum Buffun really answering the call. Kash
and a Hand gave him a ton of praise on
Monday because he was just thrown in there when spread
was down and so he answered the call.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Well.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Again on offense, there's a lot of growth still to
be had. We had our first rushing touchdown in week
six and so looking forward to saying just more from
that run game, more from potentially George Kittle in week seven.
So still a lot to see again. We've got a
few more injury updates from Kylesh and a hand in
that Monday call. I'll read them off the list here. Thankfully,
it was no more added to the list from the

(09:20):
game following. You know, Warner's injury was just his. But
a few more updates. Wide receiver Jordan Watkins dealing with
that calf injury. He's expected to return to practice this week.
Wide receiver Ricky Piersall still dealing with that knee injury.
He's still being evaluated. The team will check for his
status on Wednesday's practice. Quarterback Brock Party's dealing with that
toe injury and he's still being evaluated, same as Ricky

(09:42):
Piasaul checking in on him on Wednesday. Defensive lineman Yetur
gross Matos has a hamstring injury. He's continuing to rehab.
Defensive lineman Kevin Gibbons, who was dealing with a peck
injury and he was out.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
From the beginning of the season.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
He's still practicing and will continue to practice since his
practice window was opened. Tada and George Kittle, here's some
good news dealing with that hamstring injury, but he's expected
to return to practice this week potentially. Ka Shanhan said
they hope to see him in this game on Sunday.
Nothing is an expectation for playing time on Sunday, but
still a hope there. And wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk dealing
with that knee injury. There's no timeframe, so no exact

(10:17):
date we could exactly be looking towards, but he's trending
positively in rehab, so a few updates there. We're definitely
going to see a lot more on Wednesday. Who's back
out on the field, who's you know, looking better and
progressing in their rehab.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
But another point in Kash.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Shanahan's call is that he really doesn't want us to
get focused on the past. This is immediate and the injury,
like Fred Warner, is really one that we're going to
have to game plan for now. Looking into Week seven,
but you have to think about what we've already accomplished.
The forty nine ers are foreign to. They're still on
top of the division, and guys have to keep getting better.
What do you want to see from this forty nine

(10:52):
ers team as the game plan this week on Sunday
Night Football in Week seven? Who are you expecting to
really rise to the occasion here?

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Well, I mean I think that one of the key points,
and we still know it's when when if George Kittle
comes back?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Right, Like, if George Kittle is back, it's a huge weapon.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Now you can actually run those like double tid end
packages because I trust completely on Jay Tanja's for those plays.
So if you can have them on both sides, knowing
you have my cap free and maybe even just check
back there, the difference is going to be confused because
like there, this is a run play, right, like they
have two tight ends they have to running backs like
this is twenty two personal, This is a run and

(11:32):
then all of a sudden you live either or like
George can actually help you block on that play and
you actually let Jake go free, and all of a
sudden you have a big play. So I'm really excited
about that. I feel if George comes back, it helps
a lot with the playbook. To me, the one thing
that it's like, I think at this pontent is a
really big focus and it comes and it's kind of
stems from this last game against Buccaneers is a play

(11:54):
on the defensive line.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
They have to be able to protect the quarterback a
little more.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
I was telling his who is if I see mac
Jones and Levis today, I started going to go give
him a hug because he has to.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Be so sore.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Yeah, because he had hit ten times, he got sacks
six times. You have you have to be more consistent there,
because the more consistency there is what's going to allow
your offense to be, you know, progressively better. And one
of the things that I thought it was really funny
is that at the beginning of the season we have
all these talk about like what are the Niners are
going to do where the white res I think the
wide receiver room is actually one of the deepest one

(12:25):
in the league right now. Like you have the Marcus
Robinson who's playing fantastically, you.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Have Kendrick Bourne playing really.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Well, you have Jake Tong your stage passes, and you
have Juan Jennings collaborating when he can, and that's still
without Riky, without Brandon, without Watkins.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Like, there's a lot of.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Room in there's a lot of talent in that room.
And it was a big talking point of bening season.
Right now, it's actually one of the most solely things I.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Argue that Christian McCaffrey should be put in that receiver
room since his breaking NFL records as a running back.
Playing as a receiver in this offense, there's just a
lot to be seen on the offensive side.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Yeah, definitely, definitely, and again and then on the defense,
and like is very defensive mindedes, but the defense also
needs to you know, it's just like how we're gonna
do this collectively because that's that's what they need, especially
planning for Vigion John Robinson Robinson.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Business, how would you gain plan if you're looking at
this defense for the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Speaker 6 (13:20):
Yeah, it's a scary defense actually leaving the NFL because
they're like the only difference right now in the in
the whole NFL that they haven't allowed an offense to
go for more than three hundred total charts. So they
are a very good defference even though there are a
giant defense, but they spend a lot of money on
that pass rush. Remember they sack jash Allen four times

(13:43):
on Monday nights. Not easy to do, so they and
they do it like collectively, it's not just one one guy.
So the Atlanta Falcons have a really good defense and
the forty nine ers really need to even though they
haven't so far, but.

Speaker 7 (13:57):
They really need to establish the run. They need to do.

Speaker 6 (14:01):
Carlos was mentioned in the offensive line and specifically the
interior of the offensive line. They need to be more
more consistent because that's why Christian McCaffrey so far has
not been able to reach one hundred yards on the ground.
He got his first rushan tity of of the season
against the Backanderies, but they definitely need to establish their

(14:22):
running game. And since it's Christian McCaffrey we're talking about
it a really special player. He even trained during the
office and with Beach On Robbins and now they're gonna
face each other.

Speaker 7 (14:31):
Right and in prime time.

Speaker 6 (14:33):
But he's been able to get his jars other ways,
like through being like a wide receiver like you receiver, Yeah,
and he's reaching all kinds of new marks in his career.
So yeah, but you definitely need to establish the run
against the Falcons team because that's also a way to
be more balanced, because I think it's not sustainable to

(14:56):
keep throwing the ball like forty times per game. Your
quarterback is gonna get hurt. You're more exposed to throw
interceptions to turn the ball over. So you have to
establish the running game.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yeah, that's the Niners bread and butter.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
So I'm excited to see if it gets moving this
Sunday against the Falcons. Now, another bright spot from this game,
even though it was a really challenging one, is that
we saw safety Malik Mustafa comeback. It was his first
game back. He logged twenty one defensive snaps frisking back.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
What did you see from him?

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Hiss, I know you've got that defensive mind, So him
coming back at safety, what were some highlights from you?

Speaker 6 (15:29):
Yeah, Malik Mustaff only played like twenty one s now
so that that's normal because he's just coming off from
his injury. But I saw the same guy, an aggressive guy.
I remember Demo Lenoir before the game against the Box,
he says he's like or human bullet out there. And yeah,
when you see Malig Mustafa play, I mean he inspires

(15:49):
the rest of his teammates with the way he plays.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
He's a pilot safety.

Speaker 6 (15:54):
He goes after the ball, and I think once he
starts like feeling like one percent physically, especially like the
conditioning part, right because coming off a tough injury, like
he's going to be getting his way back into the
starting lineup. But once he's there that I think that's

(16:15):
one of the ways to do it with a guy
like Malig Mustafa. You mentioned earlier, Damad Lenore, you got
guys with the experience, even though Malik Mustaf in the
case of him, he's just in his second year, but
it was very impressive what he did last year when
he grabbed that.

Speaker 7 (16:31):
Starting role and he never let it go. So that
told you that you have a special player in Malik Mustafa.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
While we're looking at the defense, a lot of tackles
for lost in this game, which was really helpful, especially
with missing Nick Bosa, missing Fred Warner. Tackles for lost
from Upton Stout, Marquis Siegel, Bryce Huff and Diomere Leonore.
Also a first career sack from Mikel Williams Carlos, How
happy were you to see that first round pick finally
get in the pocket, get that quarterback down and not
just first sack in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
I feel it's more of a confidence thing than anything else,
because I think I feel Michael has been playing very well.
And one of the crazy stats and that you shared
with me is that Michael is the second player with
the most double teams in the league the whole season,
behind Miles Garrett.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
And look the name that he has in front of him.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
I mean, this is a guy also that's probably going
to be in the Hall of Fame at one point
because Miles Garrett is just absolutely insane. So you have
to account for mikel. You have to put people on him,
and I feel that it just gives you the confidence,
right like I'm turning to that player that I want
to be. He also deflected a pass or touch a
pass that ended up being an incompletion that was a
big play in the game. So I feel he's just

(17:35):
you see him growing right into himself. It's unfortunate that
he doesn't have Nick next to him because I feel
like that, you know, he kind of speed up, speeds
up the process, especially because you open ups for him,
that will also open gups for you or even if
you're both covered, then that's when Bryce hub was like
literally flying in. So that's that's one of the things
that you have to work with it. But I feel
like in terms of confidence, just for Michel was like

(17:58):
that is it, Like I get like, this is where
I came to do. This is something and this is
something that he had been growing into. Right, Like he's
not known to be that pass rusher that is a
suck player.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
He's very good in the in the running game.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
He contains, he puts pressures, but they he has all
the potential to do because he's a great athlete. So
the fact that he did, I just feel like it
was one of those things like, all right now his
confidence is gonna wal up because he's gonna get that feeling.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Of like, Okay, I can do it.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
I can push this guy and putting forward, pushing behind
and then and then go get the quarterbacks. So it
was great to see and what you mentioned the tackles
were lost were very important because he kept the game
very competitive.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
I mean, again, the team lost, but.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
If you really look at it with all the absences,
like this is a team that has twenty five injuries,
like is the most injured team in the whole NFL.
And you kept one of the teams that is today
five and one with a guy that is on the
contention to be MVP of the league within one possession
all the way to the third quarter, with all the

(18:54):
losses and all the stars that 'ving like not having
on the field. So to me, it's it's kind of
proved like and again this is not like tooting our
own horn, but it shows that the team is very deep,
like when you think about it, and I always put
the perfect examples, like the perfect examples, like when you
see the Cincinnati Bengals, like how their season is going,
they lose Jo Barrow and that's it, Like it's being

(19:14):
tough for them to come from back from that.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
The Niners don't han't had that problem.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
They're still leading the division, they're still with a PASSI record,
they keep games competitive. They be the team that we're
not supposed to be given in all the absences. So
to me, that makes you feel like, Okay, there's a
very deep team here and when things start coming back together,
if they start coming back together, you could still be
a contender.

Speaker 6 (19:36):
Yeah, in a way, does what gives you hope. Obviously,
just started off the season four and two and three
and zero in your division.

Speaker 7 (19:43):
That's big.

Speaker 6 (19:44):
That's big, big when you're talking about playoffs and all
that kind of stuff.

Speaker 7 (19:47):
And also the schedule.

Speaker 6 (19:48):
Right in the remaining schedule, the Falcons are one of
four teams remaining in the schedule that have winning records,
So maybe there's a way to get more wins, but
a game at a time, like they even even the
players mentioned it. And in the case of Michael Williams, yes,
is very impressive that people are double team He's just

(20:09):
a rookie and that tells you that he's going to
be very very special. And yeah, it's very frustrating that
now you don't have nig both to take advantage of that,
because when you have both on the field, obviously you
have to do double team Bosa, you have to double
with Michael, and that's where Bryce gets those one on
ones and gets those sucks, right, So, but you don't
have that, But it's still impressive what Michael Williams is doing.

(20:33):
And also going back to the linebacker position, we haven't
even mentioned Nick Martin. He has been inactive the first
six games, So I'm really interesting to see if at
one point he's able to get on the field and
see what we have in Nick Martin, because I think
and during the pre season he made some really nice
game nice plays. Again, with no preseason, it's not the

(20:54):
same thing, but he's a rookie with a huge potential,
So at one point, I'm also very interesting to see
what we're having in Nick Martin.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Yeah, impressive to see, especially like you mentioned, the preseason.
I think he was highlight this year's preseason, So I'm
excited to see how he maybe gets into the fold
here with the regular season, working with maybe the starters
and trying to get in where he fits in. And
what you mentioned about Michael Williams getting double teamed, I
think just his size, his strength is.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Speed is valid for that.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
But like we said, him getting that first career sack
must be huge for him and I'm excited to see
his confidence grow throughout the season. Now, let's talk a
little bit about the offense, Carlos. You mentioned how there
is a lot of stars with this wide receiver room,
but I want to talk about and highlight that connection
between Mac Jones and Kendrick Burne. We're not sure who
exactly is going to be under center against the Falcons
and Sunday Night Football, but mac Jones has been impressive

(21:45):
in his starts so far and his connection with Kendrick
Bourne is very clear. I think it really popped off
in Thursday Night Football when Kendrick had his career high day,
but I don't.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Want that to get unnoticed.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
In Week six also he also hit one hundred and
forty two yards, had an average of twenty eight point
four yards and his receptions. So just what you've seen
from their chemistry there going all the way back from.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
The Patriots, and I think that's that's been the key,
and that's one of the reasons I feel like they
actually went to Kenry burn And let's remember Kendrick left.
Kendrick was already contributing to this team a lot. But
Kendrick left because he went to go to be the
one receiver one precisely for the New England Patriots. That's
the only reason why he left. Otherwise I feel like
he would have stayed in this in this in this
offense because he's been he's been contributing a lot and

(22:32):
having a player that you already play with a couple
of like a full season or with a regular season,
you were the main weapon over there. Obviously that that translates,
right like, and and they're being able to capitalize on
it in different.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Ways unfortunately, again, like.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
The once we get to one of the things that
we need to be better at, like once they get
in the red zone, you got to make account But
just in open play, like I feel like what Kendrick
is doing is just showing how good of a player
he is, Like he might not have the biggest reflectors
have maybe like other wide receivers in the league. I
feel like in a sense, it's very similar to what
happened with the Marcus Robinson even when he was in

(23:07):
the Rams, right Like the Marcus Robinson was very good
with the Rams. He's been he's been here, Like it
just happened this week. He dropped the pass that seemed
pretty easy and then he goes and breaks for a
thirty one yard reception. So it just shows you the
kind of players they have. You have, these players are
very secure that they can contribute to the team, and
that's why you want, right like sometimes because you can't

(23:30):
have full superstars like everybody would love to have like
free range of expending and just get every single superstar
there's on the league on your team.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
You can't do that, right, Like, that's that's the beauty
of the NFL.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
Like turn the cup off like in a video game, right, right,
like you turn the cap off and then you go
march is like, you can't do that.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
So when you're when you look at how the Niners bill,
you find these players right like the heart they have,
the character they have, how they actually respond to bad situations.
Like Kendrick had a really i'm not gonna say a
bad game, but not a fantastic game against the Jacks,
dropping some passes, and then he's got two career high
games right after that. It was like, this is unacceptable

(24:09):
on my part because I let brug berdie down.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
So now I'm gonna come and like make account.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
And he and he's been helping the team, so it
definitely doesn't have to go. It doesn't go unnoticed, but
it makes you feel that like saying like it makes
you feel so much better because you're like, wait, we're
doing that, and Ricky is still not on the field,
Brands still not on the field, KITT's still not on
the field, like, it's hard to cover this team once
everybody gets back and that's a positive there, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Carlos, And we also saw those redemption catches in this
very own game against the Buccaneers in Week six, we
saw a redemption catch from DeMarcus Robinson, it didn't go
successful and want to play the next play Boom, he's
got it, saying with Kendrick Bourne. So it's really exciting
to see how it doesn't only translate from game over game,
but literally play after play where you're seeing the mental

(24:52):
game really developing these guys.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Now, he's just what did you see.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
From that connection between Mac Jones and Kendrick Bourne while
you're doing the play by play of the game, can
you see how Mac is probably making his reads down
the offense.

Speaker 7 (25:04):
Yeah, definitely, definitely.

Speaker 6 (25:05):
I think that there's really good chemistry obviously from their patriots.
They even mentioned it, like the first day that Kendrick
Bourne got to the building, he was like, oh, yeah,
it's really amazing to play again with Mac Jones. So
we talk a lot about chemistry and you can really
see it between Mac Johnson and Kendrick Bourne. And when

(25:26):
Kendrick had that tough day against the Jaguars with those
three drops. Mac Jones was the guy that went and
talked to Kendrick and say, yay, it's okay, come on.

Speaker 7 (25:37):
He gave him like a pet talk, right, so.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
Sorry and the same thing happening as the Rams. Yeah
he dropped that first pass. He literally goes hugging, like,
talk to him and next thing you know, he's one
hundred and twenty four yards.

Speaker 8 (25:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (25:48):
So I think that's huge when you have a guy
that can talk to you, you have that trust in
him because it's not just on the field, but off
the field in case you make a mistake or something,
you're able to talk to him, give him some time,
some encouragement. So I think that's huge and so far
that's why Kendrick Bourne.

Speaker 7 (26:06):
Has been playing really really well.

Speaker 6 (26:08):
I mean, and he also knew the system, even even
though Kyle Shanahan said when they asked him, hey, how
it tells that Kendrick Bourne used to be here back
in twenty seventeen, twenty nineteen, and he said, well, we
changed a a lot of teens since then. But I
think it still helps to have like that familiarity with
the at least with the guys like with Kyle China

(26:29):
and the head coach and and different different coaches around
the building, so that also helps. But yeah, speaking of
going back to mag Joones and Kendrew Bourne is definitely
a great connection, uh there, and and you you really
needed because you just think about it, where where would
the forty nine ers be if we didn't have a
Marc Jones, a Kendrick Bourne, even Annettie Pinero who's also
been really good with his field goals at Tananes. So

(26:52):
so we have different guys like stepping up to the
to the occasion. And that's why the voting nine ers
still have a chance. Still, they're still forty two and
now it's gonna it's getting tougher with with those injuries,
but but I think there's still a hope and a
way to do it.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Yeah, And then to you just run out that comment.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
Also the fact that Kyle has been trusting these guys
because after you drop a couple of passes, they might
not go to you. And literally every single time it's
been like, Okay, you drop a pass, here goes again.
Now make account and he makes account. So it's a
little bit of everything between the player responding to the
occasion and the fact that cow has a trust of
like going straight to them.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
Again, definitely, and he is you said his name, our guy,
Eddie Paniera. We can't talk about this being a competitive
game without giving him his recognition. He made field goal
attempts on fifty two, fifty four, forty two and twenty
nine yards made all of them. He now also became
the first forty nine Ers kicker to register four or
more field goals in consecutive games since Robbie Gold in

(27:48):
twenty seventeen, who's also a faithful favorite.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Just what do you see from Eddie Paniero?

Speaker 1 (27:53):
How he came in with such confidence and is just
nailing it and is really reliable when it comes to
the offensive side of the ball.

Speaker 6 (27:59):
Yeah, I did, you mentioned it right there? Confidence and
because remember how he started with the forty nine ers
that day against the Saints. He missed that extra point,
but right if he kept that confidence and after that
he hasn't missed any extra point, any field goal at then.
In fact, he already tied Robbie Gold because Robbie Gold
back in twenty seventeen when he started his career with

(28:20):
the forty nine Ers, he scored his first fifteen field
goal attense and now Edie Pineto just tie that. He's
also he has scored his fifteen field goal attense. So
that's just that just told you about the confidence that
Edie Pinato has.

Speaker 7 (28:36):
And also I like that he has like that swagger.

Speaker 6 (28:38):
Remember on that game against the Cardinals when he hit
that game field goal, that that game winner against the Cardinals,
and he went and screamed something to the Cardinals bench
and then it was it was like a funny moment
because I remember that week. The week after that game
against the Cardinals, they asked Kyle Shanahan about the media
and he said, yeah, I'm okay with it as long

(29:00):
as he doesn't get like a penalty. But I went
and talked to him and he told me, hey, coach,
there a division rival. So so I like that Edino
has like that passion, that swagger.

Speaker 7 (29:11):
I like that from him.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
I think that passion is carrying over to the offensive
side of Yeah, that's.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
That's that's a Miami swagger from I have. I have
a quick story about it. Actually, Eddie, other people under
the no. Eddie played soccer in high school for Miami Sunset,
which is one of the best high schools in the nation.
The ranked like number one in the nation for years.
At the beginning of two thousands, I coached against Eddie
Piniero when he was playing soccer. We faced each other

(29:36):
on in a championship final and then it was a
fantastic forward.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
But you could see that that fire he carries that fire.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
I don't know if that you know, throwing throwing in
a little bit of like his Panic background, like kind
of just like chips and into that. But he's been
very consistent. He actually just passed Justin Talker's a complete
completion percentage, which is not something easy to do. I mean,
Justin Tucker was one of the most consistent kickers in
the in the whole league. So the fact that he's

(30:04):
able to put those numbers just shows you, like sometimes
when you're in different situations, like when you get back
to a good situation.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
He also broke his own record on his longest field goal.

Speaker 7 (30:13):
He had every nine.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
He had never kicked more than fifty three.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
He kicks a fifty nine Yarderahan said like it was
out of his range, but said like listen, let's let's try.
Let's see what happens, and then did It's like, oh no,
we can trust him because like now we can do
it because he can hit the fifteen nine years like
no problem. So I feel a lot of those things
carry from his upbringing, from how fire up he was, like,
from playing that different sport because he picked up football
like later later in his life. And and he's just

(30:39):
being a great addition for the team because you needed
that consistency, right and and you got that feeling like Okay,
well it keep saying, it keeps you tight, it keeps
you there, and that that kind of swagger. I feel
like it's something that a lot of other players have,
Like that's that's one of the main reasons why it's
so hard to leave, to lose Fred Warner because he's
like him and Kittle are the guys for that in

(31:01):
this in this in this team. So to be able
to add another piece that can give you a little
bit of that, it's always possible.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Yeah, he's such a special fit in this locker room.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
So round of applause for eddiep for making so many
records breaking his name. I love it.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (31:17):
Now.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
We watched the Falcons and Monday Night Football last night.
We're recording this on Tuesday. What have you seen from
them and what are your initial thoughts on this matchup
for Sunday Night Football. They're going back to back prime time,
so this is gonna be a big game for us.

Speaker 7 (31:29):
Yeah, definitely. The Falcons look scary.

Speaker 6 (31:31):
I mean on both sides of the ball, because on
the on the offensive side of the ball, they're very balanced.
I mean you saw like with the Mike the quarterback
of Michael Pennix, he was able to throw for to
thirty yards. And then you have h Robinson on the
on the running back, who's one of the best running
backs in the in the NFL right now.

Speaker 7 (31:52):
He and Christian McCaffrey are the only.

Speaker 6 (31:54):
Guys that each game there there they have at least
one hundred games from from scrimmage, so he's also a
Robinson is also a very special player. And you have
to you have to find a way to make the
Falcons one dimensional because that's what that's how they get
the victories. They beat the Commanders before the Bills. Now
they beat the Bills. So so they're they're they're looking good.

(32:15):
I mean they're coming to Levi Stadium with a three
and two record. Like I said earlier, they have a
young defense who's play and also really really well. And
going back to the offense, they have a good wide
receiver also in Drake London. They also the tight end pitch,
so they have pieces around that can hurt you. So

(32:35):
you have to be on top of your game against
this team if you want to get the victory.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
And especially because I think that what this Monday Night
football showed. It's kind of like, regardless whether it was
an off game for the Bills, which might have been,
or at least to me, it was kind of like
that you can have enough game right, Like this is
a perfect example of what the NFL looks like. It's like, hey, listen,
the Bills are on paper, there were the better team,
and then look at how they play and look what

(33:00):
the Falcons were able to do. I feel like when
you prepare for these matches, you need to go and
look to what that team looked like when they were
at their best and then when they were not doing well,
what was the things that were not making it do
well and attack those things because again, there's no perfect team.
There's always some things that you can go tackles, like,
you know, this team suffers here and he suffers.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
How can I attack those things?

Speaker 4 (33:24):
For example, in the case of Michael Pennick Junior, obviously
he's growing, he was he was a rookie last year.
This is his second season. What were the things that
made Michael Pennick Junior not be as effective last year?

Speaker 6 (33:34):
How can we make a video right, make a Michael
Pennick viteo not rely on right?

Speaker 7 (33:39):
Find a way to make.

Speaker 4 (33:40):
It or make them like, okay, make sure that the
only person that is getting the ball is Beach and Robinson.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
But we were ready for that, right, Like they're gonna
go to him. We know, we're not.

Speaker 5 (33:50):
We're not.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
We're know we're gonna go to him.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
All right, go to him, but it's going to be
five yards, six yards, seven year and then all of
a sudden you're in three and four and they're out.
That's why you need to try to replicate. Obviously it's
obviously easier said than done, but that's what that's what
when you're when you're planning for the that's where you
need to go and tackle, and and it's just it's
just crazy, like again, like how things change so quickly,
because the same if you asked anyone last week before

(34:14):
this match or even before the Commander's game, and after
they lost, they.

Speaker 6 (34:18):
Lost third thirty the Panthers, so hopefully they again.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
Like when you have an off game and you see
that that Atlanta team lose thirty zero to the Panthers,
you're like, all right, Like, this is the team we're
going to face, and then all of a sudden they
come and have these big win and you're like, all right,
now it's even more dangerous because what team are you
going to see Because you cannot go in confident that
they're going to look like the Panthers, and you can
also be so scared that they're going to look like
the team against the Bills. You need to be able

(34:44):
to find them a way to like, how can I
replicate them playing like this like they play with the Panthers,
And how can I be ready for them to play
like they play the Bills, but also look at the
mistakes of the other teams and be like, Okay, I
don't want to do that because that's obviously what opened
the door for them to do what they were doing.

Speaker 9 (34:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
Absolutely, I hear you, Carlos, because I feel like the
the NFL is so competitive in the world of sports
I think one of the most competitive in the world
of sports. But this season in particular, you never know
who is.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Going to win. Any team could beat you, no.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
Matter their record, no matter if it's a short week,
extra rest, it does not matter. Any team can take
it home in any game. So this season is extra spicy.
But Carlos has is a lot to look for in
Sunday Night football this week.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Thank you so much for joining me on this salon today.

Speaker 7 (35:27):
A pleasure.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Oh, it's a pleasure.

Speaker 4 (35:28):
And remember that you can catch a game in Spanish
his is and I on if you're in Mexico, on
the Little Report radio and of course on the app
for the forty nine ers, and you can go forty
nine ers dot com slash esp for the content in Spanish.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
Exactly, His Carlos, thank you so much for covering the team,
being inside and out on everything that's going on.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
That was my conversation with Hazes and Carlos.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
But now it's time to turn the page to week seven,
as the Atlanta Falcons are coming into town. I'm taking
you into the locker room now to see how the
forty nine ers are preparing for their Sunday Night football matchup.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
What would be like to have a George back on
the field today.

Speaker 10 (36:00):
It'll be great, you know, I think, you know, his
presence is felt in every aspect of the Bean and
his energy is so great, So it'd be great to
have him back out there.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
Thanks a good training with Jean Off, just watching the
way because this game, Yeah, it's amazing, man.

Speaker 10 (36:15):
You know, I think when when when you see it
in person, you realize why he is. You know, you
can go on about how great of the player is,
but I think just watching what kind of man he
is and the kind of kind of a character that
he has is something that I respect so much about him.
He was a great man of faith, great uh great leader,
you know, does it the right way and have the

(36:35):
utmost respect for him.

Speaker 8 (36:36):
Do you see some of your game in his game?

Speaker 5 (36:39):
I hope. So that's that's a huge compliment. You know.

Speaker 10 (36:42):
I watched him move, watch him make a lot of
these plays, and uh, you know, it's inspiring.

Speaker 5 (36:46):
So he's definitely somebody that when you watch him.

Speaker 10 (36:48):
Play, it's just you know, any chance you get and
you can try to emulate some of the stuff he does.

Speaker 8 (36:52):
Yeah, I think I think at their figure.

Speaker 9 (36:54):
I heard U RS like, does the offense need to
to step up and then field the way And he said, well,
it's not like we're not We're not trying to all
the scores as.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
Many points we came.

Speaker 8 (37:01):
How do you keep from not pressing to do that
making sure that anybody's you know, staying on focus into it.

Speaker 5 (37:06):
He's taking it one play at a time.

Speaker 10 (37:07):
You know, each play has a life of its own,
and respecting that play and doing whatever needs to be
done on that play, and you know, having a lot
of mental resilience and mental stamina throughout him entire game?

Speaker 5 (37:20):
Is there?

Speaker 11 (37:20):
Is there every conversations more the offensive, you know, like
there's more even though sues to.

Speaker 8 (37:25):
Fill now with fred and and Bolsavon and the defense.

Speaker 12 (37:28):
Is gonna have a little harder time.

Speaker 10 (37:29):
No, you know those conversations are you know, it's that
stuff goes without saying, and when you lose guys like that.

Speaker 5 (37:35):
It's, uh, you know, stepping up is, yeah, you got
to step up. I don't think that means change anything.

Speaker 10 (37:40):
It just means be on your p's and q's as
much as humanly possible.

Speaker 5 (37:44):
But that's that's every day.

Speaker 10 (37:46):
So uh, you know, it's obviously a huge blow losing
those guys, but you know, hopefully we can emulate their leadership,
emulate the standard in.

Speaker 5 (37:54):
Which they play.

Speaker 10 (37:56):
And uh, you know, I think I'm excited about these
young guys coming up because you know, they have one
of the best leaders in the world and Fred, and
so they've been watching him do it and to have
to see them and watch them get an opportunity to
do that to be exciting.

Speaker 12 (38:08):
Christian on Sunday you have run to the right side
where who was just pipe clicks and just laying the balls?
It looks like it could have been Yeah, it's heavily
art test or something. I guess obviously that's frustrating, but
I'm sure that's not the only type.

Speaker 8 (38:26):
Of moment like that this year. Does it give you
stuff like that?

Speaker 12 (38:30):
Could be optimism?

Speaker 8 (38:31):
But are you saying you're close?

Speaker 12 (38:34):
You know, the running game is close?

Speaker 5 (38:35):
Yeah, I just got to make it happen.

Speaker 8 (38:39):
Can you quantify this way?

Speaker 9 (38:41):
We're like seeing George back in a walkthrough earlier, and
how much of work can it is?

Speaker 5 (38:45):
That's awesome?

Speaker 1 (38:46):
Man?

Speaker 10 (38:46):
Yeah, as I you know, alluded to earlier, he's he's
not just so great as a player, but his energy,
his leadership, on the field means a whole lot to
this team.

Speaker 5 (38:53):
So we can't wait to come back.

Speaker 13 (38:55):
When you've practiced against taken preparing and the energy.

Speaker 7 (38:57):
But years, what have you seen for them?

Speaker 5 (38:59):
They run and had you know, they they have a
high stame.

Speaker 10 (39:02):
They played the right way and like I said, and
they've been watching the best do it, So I can't
wait to see him.

Speaker 8 (39:09):
Are you targeting at this point? What's up with the number?

Speaker 9 (39:14):
Man?

Speaker 12 (39:14):
I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 9 (39:15):
Gods, God's doing something, man, he's working through me. But nah,
just just working, being prepared. Good things happen. You know,
you prepare and shout out to the guys. You know,
it's not only me, it's it's a collective group thing.

Speaker 5 (39:27):
And I'm just trying to help the team.

Speaker 9 (39:29):
Man, It's kind of just been happening.

Speaker 14 (39:31):
Wednesday've all been pretty close. Just wondering now that the
defense is taking such a hit with both Nick Fosa
and Fred Warner al for amongst the offense, is there
any extra added pressures put more points on the board
to solidify more wins this season and not kind of
rely on the defense to kind of win.

Speaker 15 (39:48):
It the end.

Speaker 5 (39:48):
Yeah, it's a good question.

Speaker 9 (39:49):
Yeah, as offense, you know, we want to you know,
offensive minds, like having an offensive minded coach. You know,
we want to lead the team like we're always competing
with the defense in a good way, you know, like
we want to be the leaders of the team. And
once you're competing like that, you're going to play good
as a collective group. So yeah, we want to put
up points. We want to do the right things, and yeah,

(40:10):
it's more pressure now like it always is. But now
now we gotta you know, keep carrying our workload and
doing what we need to do to just help the team.

Speaker 14 (40:18):
With Well, speaking of that, you and Mac Jones seemingly
have quite the synergy out there on the field.

Speaker 12 (40:25):
So between you guys, any.

Speaker 14 (40:26):
Extra conversation of like things that we're doing this, well,
we need to do this a little bit better.

Speaker 9 (40:31):
Yeah, Me and Matt, Yeah, we always meet things like that.
He tells me all the time. We texting, talking to
each other, watching film and.

Speaker 5 (40:39):
Stuff like that.

Speaker 9 (40:39):
It's important. Uh, he knows from a bee, I know
where he wants me to be.

Speaker 8 (40:43):
Things like that.

Speaker 9 (40:44):
So just keep growing, you know, while we're in this
position right now and it's been it's it's showing so
all the little things they added.

Speaker 15 (40:52):
Kathie, this team, you mac Ton, just the defensive line
have already had to step up guys that maybe didn't
think they were going to be in the position they
were going to be and have done that with spread
Now going out, what do.

Speaker 8 (41:04):
You expect from Tatum and what does it say about
your team that you guys have been right here? Yeah?

Speaker 9 (41:08):
Yeah, Tatum, that's you know, it's a big, big shoes
to feel. But it's the opportunity, man, you know, just
you think about injuries, you think about how people get created,
how people get their chance, and it's usually how it
goes in the league. You know, Fred playing at a
high level so many starting snaps a lot of film
on them, so he can watch a lot of things

(41:29):
that he can learn from and he's been around him,
so it's gonna be huge. But everybody else, you know,
just the same thing, taking advantage of the op Like
you never know what it's gonna present itself, and the
question is are you ready?

Speaker 5 (41:39):
So it'll show itself.

Speaker 9 (41:40):
It'll show on film, It'll show how you move in,
how fast you reacting, and things like that. So I'm
excited for him. No, it's gonna be good for him.
It usually happens to the ones that are ready.

Speaker 15 (41:51):
How much more comfortable can you feel in this offense
now than when you first came back?

Speaker 5 (41:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (41:56):
Yeah, in the beginning it was tough.

Speaker 5 (41:57):
It was tough, but just getting comfortable. I know the.

Speaker 9 (42:01):
Movements, I know, you know, my body knows how to
move within the offense.

Speaker 7 (42:05):
So new terms.

Speaker 9 (42:07):
I didn't know Clay coobad before I got here, so
learning Clay how he operates in things too was dope
to learn. And we've built a good relationship so far
and it's been fun. So new terminology, new words, but
the body movements where you're pretty similar to my body transition.

Speaker 7 (42:25):
It's a great question.

Speaker 9 (42:26):
That's a great question. Yeah so, actually not so. I
definitely I want to block better too. Man, there's so
many clips on the film. You know, everybody look at
the one forty two like this economic skid, But like
there's there's bigger stuff than that too, you know, I
want to block better.

Speaker 5 (42:40):
There's plays to be made.

Speaker 9 (42:41):
There's there's more stuff out there that I can I
can do better to, like Spring CMC and things like that.
So I'll be just looking at those ones, like Okay,
how can I apply that better? But but definitely didn't
block as much in New England as as I do here.
It's it's a better system though to like with the
run game, it's a different system, so I gotta you know,
apply different styles, just different angles towards the safeties and

(43:03):
things like that. So working on that as as I'm
growing within the scheme again. Uh, And it's been fun,
but that's a challenge for me. And I'm gonna take
ithad home my missing kicks.

Speaker 11 (43:12):
That's how you build it up, by missing game winners
and missing important kids and just creating a foundation.

Speaker 12 (43:18):
And you know, at the end of the day, we're
not gonna be perfect.

Speaker 5 (43:20):
And I mean, joined the ride right now.

Speaker 12 (43:23):
But let's see where everybody's.

Speaker 13 (43:24):
At when I'm when I'm not and when I'm not
doing well.

Speaker 2 (43:26):
I let's see what's different about this team other keep
you playing right?

Speaker 16 (43:31):
Yeah, just I mean that my teammates here are amazing
and like I said, there's so many blog kicks going
around in the NFRONO and these guys are just pretty
working their boat offs, you know, to help me succeed,
and the organization has been amazing and.

Speaker 11 (43:43):
Just to support he has been awesome, and everybody helps
having a good snapper and a good holder.

Speaker 5 (43:47):
Here, so you know somebody like the fifty nine yards.

Speaker 12 (43:50):
Yeah, there's just absolutely.

Speaker 11 (43:54):
Yeah, I'm just having confidence and knowing that you can
make the kick, and knowing you know, there's two minutes left.

Speaker 12 (44:00):
If you don't make this kick, you're gonna give another
team good fold decision and you can't things going through
my net as well. Just how I'm pouring this kick.

Speaker 5 (44:06):
Is you d seventy seven yards in practice?

Speaker 7 (44:09):
Watching and yeah, I think so?

Speaker 5 (44:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (44:14):
I mean I had a hurricane win behind me at
that time, so maybe maybe we can get a windy
game one day and hopefully try it out.

Speaker 12 (44:21):
Great.

Speaker 8 (44:22):
The lower trajectory and your kick, is that intentional or
is that just the way it comes on?

Speaker 12 (44:27):
Do you think it's a low kick?

Speaker 7 (44:29):
Well, if it's like, it's not, it's an it's like.

Speaker 8 (44:32):
More of a driving as a coast.

Speaker 12 (44:33):
I don't think I had any no kicks. I think
I had a pretty decent I think I have pretty
decent hiding for sure.

Speaker 6 (44:38):
You fly back to the ten years ago or someone
you were during the five am we're after getting.

Speaker 8 (44:46):
What was Yeah, I mean you have a think back.

Speaker 5 (44:47):
Like, how are you ABSOLU? Yeah?

Speaker 12 (44:48):
Absolutely? I mean my dad was a professional soccer play
and my goal is to be better than him, and
nothing ever happens. But thank god this worked out for
me and I'm able to support my family doing it.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
You just the internal conversations with yourself after somebody, how
does that?

Speaker 16 (45:06):
Actually?

Speaker 5 (45:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (45:08):
Yeah, absolutely, I mean it's it's it's it's yourself. I mean,
you gotta just be positive, and it's kind of just
like tennis, you.

Speaker 11 (45:15):
Know, like we're kind of in our own little world
in our head and you know we're way from everybody.

Speaker 8 (45:20):
And yeah, there was no second down what you call back?

Speaker 12 (45:28):
Oh my dad O? Your guys can what I mean?

Speaker 11 (45:31):
Absolutely, my dad, I've certain I mean my dad, like
I said, he was a professional soccer player, and he's
missed penalty kicks, He's made penalty kicks and he's you know,
he's helped his team win.

Speaker 12 (45:40):
He's been the reason why they've off.

Speaker 11 (45:41):
And you know, my dad's just already helped me through
this whole bus He still help you.

Speaker 12 (45:46):
Absolutely, we gotta we talk every single day.

Speaker 11 (45:48):
I mean I bought him my house two houses down
from mine, so I gotta keep him closing.

Speaker 12 (45:51):
That's the only guy I have left in this room.

Speaker 7 (45:53):
What does he talk you kind of stuff?

Speaker 11 (45:55):
Hold, Yeah, just motivational stuff like how far we come
and not to forget where we came from, and you
know things like that.

Speaker 12 (46:03):
You know, sometimes you get caught up into it and
just forget where you came from ti times. So just
keeps me, keeps me on, keeps me on my feet,
and keep your nikey. You know, you gotta keep working
every single day. And you're you're you're up one day,
you're down the other day. So you're not as good
as you say you are. You're not as bad as
they say you are.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
And you know what he's always told me, And he's
still working all much.

Speaker 12 (46:23):
No, he's retiring. You know, my dad will never work
then his life.

Speaker 5 (46:26):
Again, go bar.

Speaker 12 (46:28):
That, Yeah, because you know he's he's done everything for me.

Speaker 5 (46:33):
He's been there for me.

Speaker 11 (46:34):
He's he's worked his whole life to give us the
best life. So now it's time that I give him
the best retirement. Yeah.

Speaker 12 (46:40):
Absolutely retired him to construction. Yeah, after playing soccer. You know,
he didn't have the best money management.

Speaker 13 (46:48):
And you know, now he's got me, so we're good
went like.

Speaker 14 (46:55):
They're calling you the narrow open here and now now
you know mention that you retired your father. There's something
everyone works towards when they sent out to you know,
accomplish a goal.

Speaker 6 (47:04):
If you can pop reflect for sick and how much
that he meant.

Speaker 14 (47:07):
To you to do that, how much you means to
him too, how many two doors down knowing that he's
tuning in on that, Yeah.

Speaker 12 (47:12):
Lousey, I mean he's everything to me. That's the goal.
That's why he started playing football.

Speaker 11 (47:15):
So I put soccer even though I love soccer and
then love my sport of my marriage.

Speaker 12 (47:21):
You know, I'm but for you that doing this, I
can give my parents a better opportunity, you know, to
to have I own a home one day, have a
have a car, have a house, and you know, have
everything that that that they should, that what we deserve.

Speaker 8 (47:34):
When when when that happened.

Speaker 13 (47:36):
Like two years ago, when I finally felt like I
was I was had enough to pay everything off, and yeah,
I was very reaction.

Speaker 12 (47:46):
I mean they were super happy. Of course, you know,
I deserved the world. And this is this is why
I do it. I do it for them and if
it's up to me, I'm live under a bridge. I'm okay.
As long as they're living good, that's all I matter. Say. Yeah,
it was really good. It was really good. And I
haven't seen my parents in like almost like a month.
Seeing my mom was super special to me.

Speaker 11 (48:08):
And being able to hug her, and it's just a
little things just that that that sometimes, you know, you know,
we take for granted, you know, I can't see them
there in Miami, and you.

Speaker 12 (48:17):
Know, just being able to hug her and hug my
dad and just just like feel them there, like it
just felt really good.

Speaker 11 (48:24):
Game before yeah, yeah, usually, yeah, but my dad ended
up unfortunately had a heart attack a couple of months ago,
so he hasn't been able to fly.

Speaker 12 (48:31):
So yeah, he hasn't been able to come over here.
But hopefully the doctor clears him soon so I can
see them. Whatever. Your mom my Mom's just stay on them.

Speaker 5 (48:42):
Okay, Yeah, do a couple more ready.

Speaker 1 (48:45):
How do you like the giner?

Speaker 14 (48:47):
I mean that people are basically saying you're a certain path.

Speaker 8 (48:51):
Yeah, I mean, I don't mind the I don't mind it.

Speaker 12 (48:53):
If it gets the fans going and it makes them happy.
At the end of the day, you know, we're here
to entertain and we're here to win and make them proud.
So if that makes them happiness.

Speaker 5 (49:03):
Anythink today is the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Speaker 7 (49:06):
What is your message to all the Hispanic fans of
the nine NFL in general?

Speaker 11 (49:10):
And yeah, just you know, just keep fighting if I
can do it. You know, everybody knows that I'm from
the Kawa and Cuban and just being Hispanic in general,
you know, if I have a shot to do it,
they can too. And just you know, I've been braced
the whole Hispanic community here and I love them very much.

Speaker 8 (49:25):
Are they in your mind's a little bit more in Tampa.

Speaker 15 (49:27):
Knowing that they were there.

Speaker 12 (49:28):
Absolutely, what you're talking about my family? Yeah, and absolutely
I wanted to do really good in front of my
mom and dad. Is I'm still a little I feel
like sometimes I'm still a little kid, like I want to.

Speaker 11 (49:36):
Perform good in front of my mom and dad, like
I want them, I want them to be proud of me,
you know.

Speaker 12 (49:40):
So having them there, I feel a little extra pressure.

Speaker 8 (49:43):
Because I'm like, no, I need to do well, Like
they haven't seen me in over a month.

Speaker 3 (49:47):
I want I want to do good for my mom.

Speaker 11 (49:48):
I want to do good for my dad, And yeah,
it felt good to have a good performance even though
we lost, But yeah, how did you think it went
the other day?

Speaker 17 (49:59):
I feel like it's a defense we could have doe better,
like communication wise and all scams. That's as far as
just playing keeping the standard. I feel like we always
ready in the game. You just gotta be on the
same page. Iig plays that you gave up.

Speaker 8 (50:14):
And there's so much of a peoples friend those out
front of U.

Speaker 1 (50:22):
For you.

Speaker 8 (50:22):
You have to go in there and from him. What
was your mindset going him?

Speaker 5 (50:28):
You know Fred? He he's the leader of the team,
not just the defense, you know. So and he goes
down and that's a huge built.

Speaker 17 (50:33):
To every single one of us. And we all are professionals,
and we gotta prepare like the start. Shit, I'm just
being going in and just make sure there's gonna drop
off my friends he comes off the field. That's my
goal right now. And I'm not trying to be like Fred.
I'm just make sure I'll be take him with them.

Speaker 5 (50:51):
That's start that I'm gonna do. Me For.

Speaker 17 (50:56):
Teachers, Fred has been everything to the teacher, just a brother,
you know, just a friend to it, you know, everything,
the way he carried hisself going.

Speaker 5 (51:06):
And off the field. I just learned to lobby friend,
he'll just you rule for him. His disapears right now.

Speaker 9 (51:12):
But you know, I can listen to our care.

Speaker 12 (51:16):
They can crowd feel the ship, the legacy and the
standard that he set to this South.

Speaker 5 (51:20):
It's just still forty ninety fast.

Speaker 1 (51:22):
It's gonna be up.

Speaker 8 (51:25):
Taking it from the market.

Speaker 17 (51:28):
Just being boys, confidence and everything you do. That's uh,
that's you want might back, And that's right.

Speaker 5 (51:37):
I've always been.

Speaker 17 (51:38):
Confident, just more of a favorite. Yeah, I'm continning. Hang
your apps just just gonna be Floyd's great chop.

Speaker 5 (51:52):
Use your both, y'all.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
And we obviously need to see a lot of footballs.

Speaker 17 (51:56):
