Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hope on for the review.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
I just want to start by saying, like, commend the
coaching staff that we have here going into week one,
just a prep all off season, prep all training camp,
continuing to refine our process. I would always tell other
coaches like, your two is a lot more smooth because
you get to work out the kinks, you know, through
a full season, but then also another offseason together. And

(00:28):
and just really commend all of our coaches of just
fine tuning our process of making sure we're putting guys
in position to to you know, take advantage of matchups
and win and play fast. So and then also the players.
The players they're focused effort every day in and day out.
It's been phenomenal. So just really looking forward to continue
to build on that.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Great Thank you coach. If you guys want to start
to raise your hands, we can open it up. Question
to start with Mike, followed by Alex Hey, Brad, I
got two for you. One where are you guys? SAYT?

Speaker 4 (00:59):
With g T Sanders following kind of his weight loss
but also kind of his uptick in production and what
you saw last year.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Yeah, JT looks explosive, man, He's done it really good
had a really good offseason. I know that's been highlighted
by me and some of the other guys, but he's
a he's a mismatch, right, Yeah, they have to account
for him in the past game. And then he's also
you know, I really challenge those guys be physical and aggressive,
no matter what your weight says, be physical, aggressive, play
with your hands, and those guys have really they've done that.

(01:31):
Our defense up front, you know, we got two young
guys coming off the edge full full tilt, trying to
rust a passer passer. So whether in pass pro or
sifting back on blocks, they've been great challenges for guys
like JT to make sure that they keep that physicality
as well.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
And then my second question is when you look at
your your strengths and wide receiver and you look at
you know, Adam not being here obviously hunters here to
play the slot. When you think about you're eleven and
twelve personnel groupings, does that change anything for you guys
because you have Tommy back and Adams no longer here.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I mean, we really pride ourselves on conceptual teaching, conceptual learning,
so guys are ready to plug and play. And then
you get into a game plan process. It's funny. I
was talking to Hunter about it as he started to
jump in with us, and he was like, Hey, like,
I'm just so used to like they're putting me on
very specific routes, you know, for every single concept, and

(02:28):
here I've kind of like been all over and guys
are kind of doing all different spots, And I was like,
that's very intentional in the offseason.

Speaker 5 (02:34):
That's very intentional in training camp because we.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Want the guys to be able to plug and play,
because we know, you know, the roster on a week
to week basis changes, so we really pride on ourselves
of prepping the guys that way. And then when we
get into a game plan week like this, we try
to maximize those matchups and make sure we're getting what
we want by putting specific formations in specific motions to

(02:57):
get leverages on past plays, you know, and across the board,
making sure that those guys feel, Okay, you've earned this
through the training camp, you know, in the spring, and
all of the things that you've showed that we want
to highlight you this week on this route against this player.

Speaker 6 (03:14):
Obviously, like your three running backs back there, you think
they can all make plays.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
They all had a lot of reps this training camp.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
How like, how long do you think it'll take for
you guys to figure out like a consistent carry distribution
in the backfield. Do you guys already have a pretty
like stable plan from week one and you think that's
going to carry through the rest of the season or
is that still up in the air?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
I think well, first and foremost, you know body of
work by Chuba. He's a big piece of who we
were last year and who we are going forward. We
know the style of runner he is on the game day.
We know the other two as well. They've proven themselves
throughout this spring. We've seen Rico's tape, We've seen him
back that up you know in person.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
Same thing with Trevor.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Everybody saw in the preseason the way he runs and
finishes runs. So I don't think we put a number
on it, but but you're just you feel blessed to
have three guys that you know run the ball the
right way, and then you kind of see it as
the game goes and you try to make sure that
they're all playing fresh. So the benefit from having all
three is, you know, we don't need to run Chuba

(04:21):
dry early. We have two good runners with him, so
it's a long season. We just like the receiver room question, like,
we know we're going to have to have all those
guys available on a weekly basis, so keeping them fresh
and keeping them running full speed, Uh, we don't. We
don't lose a tick when one goes in versus the other.
So we're not gonna put a number on it right now,

(04:42):
but we are going to make sure that you know,
all those guys are prep for for all the different
carries that that we're gonna ask them to have.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Perfect Thanks.

Speaker 7 (04:50):
Ye, all right, We'll go to David Fallow by Joe
and the Cats the thank Brag and see you morning.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Talk about PMAG.

Speaker 7 (05:00):
I mean, you see a lot of rookie receivers coming
too the league and they struggle their first year.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Lager had kind of up and down rookie year.

Speaker 7 (05:07):
What about t Mac makes you feel like he can
go right into that number one receiving mode?

Speaker 2 (05:12):
You know, for Tea, Mac is just about being the
best version of himself every day and that's what he's
really poured into. He's a pro in his approach, in
his communication. That's been one of the best parts is
just watching him immediately, you know, you go from offense
to defense and the scope of a practice, and the
second the defense is on the field, he's ironing things

(05:33):
out with Bryce.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Hey, how did that feel like?

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Whether it was a completion or you know, they're working
on timing or a decision and they're getting another route
on the side. But his communication with Bryce and myself
and Rob Moore has been nothing but professional, So that
inspires belief and all of us are saying, Okay, this
guy's going to accelerate really fast in his learning curve
because he wants it. He's hungry, and then the skill

(05:57):
set takes care of itself. We all saw that in
the draft prep, we all saw in the spring in
the training camp. That's where you know, that's why we
brought him in the building because we believe in the
person and that professional is showing up. And then the
skill set, we do believe is a matchup for for
any team we're going against.

Speaker 7 (06:13):
It was he was looking at the video of him
passing the ball yesterday in the locker room as he
brought that up to you that he's a pretty accurate passer.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Oh yeah, absolutely, he uh, he's uh you know, they
always point you to a couple of college clips, and
he's shown me a couple of There's there's one one
where I think he rolled around. Cassidy was actually showing
it to me. He rolled around, he threw it back
to his quarterback, and the quarterback, you know, ended up
dropping it. But just just knowing that you give him
the ball, he's gonna you know, extend plays, just like

(06:40):
Bryce does too. So you know, maybe there's a little
symmetry there if you do end up giving him the
rock to throw it.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
And this is a little off target.

Speaker 7 (06:48):
But the the Eagles really successful with the touch push,
Why don't the Panthers? If it's if it's that effect
of of a weapon, why don't the Panthers use it?

Speaker 5 (06:59):
Well one more time, sorry.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
The touch push? Why don't the Panthers use it?

Speaker 7 (07:03):
If the touch what the Eagles do is so successful,
or they just collination of what the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
And line or what.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Yeah, I think there's a balance of like protecting them
and making sure that you know, we're running our core
schemes that the guys, you know, you get so many
plays in a game that you want to make sure
that you get the things that guys have gotten so
many reps of uh, you know during the week, and
and that's uh, that's our first and foremost thing. And
then all the uh, all the offshoot, all the complimentary

(07:32):
schemes that we kind of put on the side. Uh,
we make sure that, you know, the guys are really
comfortable with it, and before we you know, get it
off the card. But the first week of the season,
early in the season, we want to make sure that
all of our core stuff, you know, is getting run,
so guys are coming off the ball with confidence.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Yeah, and I I suggested you had to run.

Speaker 7 (07:49):
I was just saying, why did the Eagles run it
and hardly anybody else does.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
I'm I'm sorry I could.

Speaker 7 (07:57):
I'm saying, why did the Eagles run the touch push
and nobody else see the push?

Speaker 2 (08:00):
I'm sorry, I'm completely off base of what I was answering.
But yeah, the touch push one their their quarterbacks, you know,
pretty good size there.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
We could definitely do it.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
There's an element of protecting your your passer and making
sure that you know, you know, if your guy, you know,
if there's a short edge and he gets hit in
the back. Any of those things that just don't seem
worth it at times. And Bryce is so good too,
you know, when he's out on the edge that that's
almost as you know, as valuable as just having an
easy like push up front with wedge blocking. So we

(08:34):
we found other ways to combat it with a little
bit of like belly handoffs with twenty one Pony and
things of that nature, but putting bright, putting the ball
in Bryce's hands with a little bit of space too
for us. You go and you watch Washington right and
teams like that nature, where it's it's equally as valuable
to to threaten the defense laterally as it is vertically

(08:55):
right right down the middle.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
Thank you, Yeah, sorry, I eventually got to your question.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
A problem, Hey brag, Good morning, Good morning, back on
back on t MAC. It seemed fair pretty intentional that
early in camp, you guys threw a ton of press
coverage at him, be it from mostly from Mike Jack,
but really from everybody. How do you think he responded?

Speaker 3 (09:20):
One and two? Are you expecting to see a lot
of that early on? Because that was.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Kind of the knock on him, his ability to defeat that,
or at least questions about whether he could.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
I think whether it was scheme or it was you know,
veteran corners on our team, you know, wanting to get
their hands on a top ten pick. I think everybody
kind of licks their chops of hey, let me let
me welcome you to the league with these hands and
tea mac We said it earlier in camp. He did
a great job responding and playing physical. That's that is
Rob's wheelhouse. That is Rob Moore's wheelhouse. Him and Keishawn

(09:55):
Coleman are working day in and day out at putting
every type of physicality you can into these receivers, into
the way they play. I would expect, you know, in
the NFL, whether the scheme or not fits. Uh, that's
always what you want to make sure that you know,
you're saying, Okay, when do you expect these guys to
come and press? When you have a you know, a

(10:16):
zone dropping team, at times you're you're going to have
some free access. So just making sure that team ACX
prepared for those circumstances of when the press will show up.
This isn't necessarily a team that presses down in and
down out, but shoot, if.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
They want to do it.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
We've gotten great work all camp. We feel really confident
we went over to Houston. I think that was another
great instance where we had, you know, a lot of
press coverage with aggressive, really good dbs and they got
great work there. So working kind of a complimentary Hey,
if they're if they're in zone right, if they're in
a vision zone, you know, we've got to be on

(10:50):
our p's and ques about timing and route placement. But
if they want to come and press, we've gotten plenty
of work at it and we're ready to go. I
think that's that's kind of the I wouldn't say the
easy part, but it's just diagnosing what are they how
are they trying to attack us today?

Speaker 5 (11:03):
What's our mindset and how we're running our routes?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Thank you?

Speaker 5 (11:08):
Yep, Hey Brad, how's it going good? Cassidy? Yes, sweet,
thank you.

Speaker 8 (11:16):
I'm going to take that as a compliment, but you
know who it was when you look at Let me
back up, do you expect defenses to maybe play Bryce
a little differently this year now that there is just
kind of, you know, more of a body of work
of what he can do in this offense, and if so, like,
how do you balance that as a coordinator with what

(11:39):
he does well versus what you're expecting.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Yeah, I think as far as Bryce is concerned, you know,
all teams coming into Week one, they're dealing with newness, right,
So the Jags are dealing with newness on their end,
but they're also dealing with newness in us of how
we progress throughout the season. And they also don't know
all the things that we've added in the off season.
So there's new personnel around Bryce, which is going to

(12:03):
change some of the tendencies that he had last year.
He's throwing to different people. We have a couple of
different runners, a couple of different running styles. We've added
different schemes to protect, you know, what we want to
accomplish on a weekly basis. So yes, I do think
they have, you know, a body of work there where
they think, you know, they can kind of get a
beat on just what he likes to do. But we've

(12:24):
also spent all off season making sure that we're protecting
those things.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
And then one more time with the second piece.

Speaker 8 (12:31):
Oh yeah, just like as a coordinator, how do you
balance that knowing what he does well versus knowing that
they might try to take some of that away.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Yeah, One, we've developed the complimentary schemes in the off
season for him. So, you know, year one is about
getting your core in, making the guys comfortable with your
identity and what you're trying to you know, how you're
trying to attack certain coverages, certain fronts, certain pressures.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
He did a great job at that.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
That was the freedom that he played with towards the
latter had half of the season. You know, he had
great comfort in those course games. And then we build
upon that. Okay, what's what's a complimentary concept to you know,
four verts? Okay, we're gonna put this in, you know,
to compliment that. What are two runs that they can
expect to be coupled together? What's a run in a
pass to be expected to couple together? When teams want

(13:18):
to combat some of the things we do. Those expectations
were set throughout the offseason. We got good reps of it,
and now you know, you take another steps as a
quarterback as the guy driving the team, and and he
knows kind of what's coming down the pipe as far
as hey, this is what we expect teams to do.
This is what they did down the ladder half of

(13:39):
the season, and this is our answer to it. So
just continuing to build in those those complimentary pieces for
him as we go, and then as we continue to
learn the personnel, the new personnel around him, and every player,
including the guys that were.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
Here last year, they come in new.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
We talked about JT transforming his body, well, well truly,
everybody coming in this year is have has a new
piece of their game that we have to to make
sure that we're listening to and we're we're applying our
scheme to it. So just adjusting to those those things
on a weekly basis, making sure we're keeping a pulse
of everything is kind of our focus as a coordinator

(14:13):
and a coaching staff.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
As a whole. Awesome, thank you, Yep, no problem.

Speaker 7 (14:18):
All right, we'll wrap up real quick with Jeff Hawkins
and Julian Counsel.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
All right, good morning, coach.

Speaker 9 (14:26):
This could be seen as Bryce's quote unquote covid year.
I'm curious to get your take on uh on his
mind went on his week one mindset, and how important
it is for him to get off to a good start.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Yeah, play fast and confident. I think every year is
a proven year for all these players. I think it's
it might come off as coach speak but we truly
are like this is such a highly competitive league that
things change so quickly. So just playing confident in himself,
playing free, uh, And we really challenge all of our
players to do that. We want them to hear these
plays and and get fired up every time they hear

(14:59):
the words they know. Oh so they explode to the
line and explode off the line, And we're confident that
they're going to do that. They've shown that in camp,
they've shown that in practice so far this week. We're
really excited to see it all come together.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Thanks a lot coaching.

Speaker 10 (15:12):
Yep, thanks, Hey, Brad, Just gonna look ahead to Sunday.
We won't really know what Travis Hunter splits will be
like until game day. Can also preparation been like preparing
for a guy like that you can play on both
sides of the ball, and it is just generally your
overall thoughts on a guy like Kimino and I you
played a position back in college and him being able
to play it at a high level on both sides

(15:33):
now attempting that in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Yeah, I mean one you evaluate the athlete. I got
to you know, watch him in the draft prep as
a receiver and you just see his movement skills and
his ball skills, so that those are alone are special.
But then when it comes to we're talking about like
the dealing with pressof camp and then some of their
zone coverages, just what they present to you and and understanding, Okay,

(15:57):
each dB when they come to the line, how are
they gonna play you?

Speaker 5 (16:00):
And Pressed? Man, how are they gonna play you? In zone?
What are they? What are they? You know, what do
they show that they're good at?

Speaker 2 (16:06):
The beauty is tam Mac you know guys like that
that have played against Travis. We have one of his
teammates here, they know some of his tendency. So we're
gonna overturn every stone to figure out, Okay, how do
these guys what do they like to do?

Speaker 5 (16:18):
And Press? What do they like to do when they're
in zone? When do they jumpy?

Speaker 3 (16:21):
When?

Speaker 5 (16:22):
When can we get them? How can we attack them
in the run game.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Make make sure that they're filling and uh, you know,
in their gaps and tackling.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
So making sure that that.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Every stone is is overturned to make sure you know
these new guys that you not don't have a lot
of tape of uh, you know, you're attacking them the
right way. But at the end of the day, right
we have a scouting report. Rob Moore goes over a
great DB's tape on you know what, do you think
how they're gonna play you in certain coverages. At the

(16:52):
end of the day, you take all that information, but
then you focus on yourself and just exploding off the ball,
playing fast. That confidence in the scheme is the first piece.
That confidence and understanding when do you expect certain types
of coverages, and then just reacting we're coming off the ball,
we're reacting to off coverage versus press coverage versus cloud

(17:12):
all right, and playing fast and trusting our rules. So
really trying to stress them, stress them this week with
their rules because that newness of both scheme and players
are going against is real in week one, two, and
three where you don't have a huge body of work
to go from, so you really you stress these guys'
rules and make sure that they're comfortable in them.
