Speaker 1 (00:00):
Upon further review, what was it like going up against
those guys after a few years of being away. Yeah,
it's awesome.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
You know, there's a yeah, a lot of guys that
super close with you know, we're uh I have some
brothers on this team, and uh, just us being able
to to live out our dreams is is is really
cool both of us. When when the the players are
going out here, what are you here to compete? Mama panther?
They're textans. That's all that matters in the time. But
after it's it's great to see again. It's a lot

(00:34):
of people. I'm close with a lot of people that
I'm so happy just to see see them where they're
at succeeding.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
They feel the same way, uh about about me. So
it's definitely a blessing.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Sounds like you, uh yeah, we we uh cadences. That's
how football football football do that, right.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
So I'm assuming in that group of people you referred
to as special with E.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
C J.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
How cool is it that to see him on that stage?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
You're on this stage?

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Would you ever maybe it did kind of a vision
at years ago when y'all were playing.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
A in your basket. Yeah, I again, it's it's a blessing. Again, Uh,
that's my that's my brother. And for us to be
out here living our dreams. We've we've seen how hard
we've worked.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
I know i'll hardy works.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
See it here, I've you know, followed his journey uh
as a fan, as a friend, as a brother, through everything,
and to see where he's at now.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Yeah, and it I'm I'm I'm super proud to see
I'm it m. It means a lot. I'm i'm uh,
I'm always room for 'em. Th that's my guy. So
and you know, I'm I'm sorry to say the same
with me.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
So it's just yeah, and it's a blessing. You know,
when the practice is going, I'm room for the defense.
I'm I'm hoping that we we make every play. That's
all that matters. But before and after, you don't. I
try not to take it for granted. Uh, us being
able to live our dreams be here, it's special. So
I'm I'm super blessed for that. Right. So things could
be a lot different, you know, had see David Havnub
when you've been you have the number two, just the

(01:57):
place you're at.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
But what do you think about what you guys are done,
that's so far at your respective Yeah everything.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, I mean I'm I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be.
I'm sure Cgill say the same thing about here. God
doesn't make mistakes. Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Everything happens for a reason.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
So I'm I'm super grateful to to be a Panther
and uh again for me, from my standpoint, always just
trying to improve as a team, as a unit, as
a group, We're tryna keep going, tryna keep getting better. Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Coach just talks about winning the day, taking it one
day at a time.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
He always says to you know, it's the best day
we got cause it's all we got, and you know
that's the mindset uh today, it'll be the mindset tomorrow.
So again for me, I'm I'm grateful where I'm at,
Grateful to be where my feet are and continue to
build with this group that I love.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
How would you assess thee offensives for the same to day.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yeah, I think it was a good day. I think
that we we had some explosives. I think we had
some some some plays that we went back. I think
that there's uh, just great tape for us to learn from.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Good or bad.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
It was. It was great to be able to go
up uh against a a great defense like like Houston has.
Great for us to come out and in this weather
which is different, just for us to be able to
fight through things. Haven't watched the film yet, so you know,
it's never as good as you think, never as bad
as you think. You you never really get the full
tail to tape until you watch it. But I feel
good about how we compete it. That's really what you know.
We we pride ourselves in feel feel good about our

(03:12):
attitude towards things.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
And then ah, as we watch the table, see we
can in that two minute segment light. I mean, what
is it about those segments that you feel most comfortable in?

Speaker 2 (03:22):
You know, I think that really it's it's the communication
an and the the the effort that we.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Put into that.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
It's not just call and plays and us lining up
and figuring out what we're gonna do. The coaching staff
does a great job of making a point of emphasis
uh to work things go over, situations, have a little
caveats to rules, and we have a lot of bank
reps at it. So I think, for not just me,
but all of us as a unit. Uh that that
gives us a lot of comfortability. In two minute. We
have a you know, a great menu, a great uh
list of stuff that you know is simple or uh

(03:53):
complex and the outside. But for us, we have a
lot of reps in it. And you know that that's
credit to the coaching staff and to all the guys
buying into that process. I sort of screened off from
that deep ball down the sideline the rice and did
you catch that or reset?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, he made a great catch, made a great catch
versus good coverage, did a great job fighting through on
the route and right to someone who's been super consistent,
super steady, super hard worker for someone being so new.
We all have that that trusting and confidence in him
bio he carries himself so ha have all the all
the conference in the world that he's gonna come down
with him right.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Oh sorry, And you know why receiver group is really deep.
You guys don't have a The coaches are gonna have.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Some decisions to make and a couple of days here
you talk about what you're seeing from that du in
the joint practices versus the ground and today yeah, j
just stepping up to competition, you know, you know, coach
coach talks about not not not trying to raise our level,
but to to make sure we seek uh sink to
the level of our training and technique. And you see
them just being who they are, consistent and it it

(04:52):
seems you know it, it seems like they're stepping up.
In reality, they're doing exactly what the coaches are saying,
being consistent on the day to day y. You see
that it brings out the best in all of us,
gives us that ability to to to see tighter, have
more focus. So, yeah, like you said, it's an extremely
competitive group. It's it's you know, it's unfortunate how NFL
is that we can't keep all of 'em because uh,
they all they all deserve it based on how hard

(05:14):
they work, how much they produce. So obviously that'll that'll
be a front office thing. But we have confidence in
all the guys across the board, right SI.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
I know you and Cja Princeville are really like, how
would you be able.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
To share with me something that he's brought to your
life as a friend.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Yeah, you know, there's a lot of things.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
I think one of the the biggest things that I
respect about him is just his consistency as a person.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
You know, he's someone that I've seen. You know, I've
been around him in.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
A lot of different outside perspectives. I've I've seen him
as a overlooked, overlooked middle school or high schooler that
I've been around that was just as good but didn't
get the didn't get the follow he didn't get the
didn't have.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
The offers, didn't have the hype. Uh.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I've seen him at Ohio State play w play have
after one game people acting like he's he's not good,
and people saying he's this and that to go on
and have the curers had and be the be the
manor Ohiose State. I've seen him here ups and downs.
I've seen him have so much success at this level.
I mean throughout all that he's been the exact same person.
He's been, family oriented, you know, a great person on

(06:17):
and off the field, someone that obviously I know a
lot of people on this team and everyone tells me
how great of a leader he is, how much he
means for this team, offense, the entire team, my entire unit.
The person is so I think just his ability to
be that that that same person, regardless of what the
circumstances are is one of the things that I I
am the most right.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
You guys have that basketball background in common. A couple
of years ago you compared yourself to Darius Garland him
and Michael Forter junior. Now that you're two years in
the league, have those kind of evolved the Have you
seen differences in the two of you since that? Nah,
I don't. I don't think so, I haven't.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
I don't think either of us have had a lot
of time to to evolve our basketball game.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
So I think where we're who we're gonna be. We're
just in l the two of you together, I mean
in in terms of football, I mean what it's been like, just.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
The journey from where you guys were joined, don't draft
into the town. Yeah, you know, I think, of course,
obviously we both gotten more experienced, both gotten more uh familiarity,
more comfortability and where we're at. And it's it's cooler
to be able to have conversations in the offseason from
oh wow, you're one, this surprised this happened year two?
Oh this is oh wow, this happened you, this happened

(07:21):
to me, This is what I see. So it's cool
again to to have someone that I'm so so close
with and uh been friends for a while, to kind
of be able to to to traverse things at a
similar uh timetable.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
It's it's definitely a blessing.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Ten years agless one, you and CJ played against each
other and uh, the Pomona.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Steelers versus A I E. That's game. Yeah, just think
back to that. What do you kind of remember for
that game? What were some cool things about that game?

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Man?

Speaker 1 (07:45):
How cool was to see that a decades later to you?

Speaker 2 (07:47):
You guys are right at a training camp practice against
each other.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Yeah, it was a fun game. A lot of people
out there.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
But again, same person I think, uh that game, I
think CJ played corner too, like the cause that's the
competitor he is, someone was doing everything to help we
se him went on both sides.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
He was. Uh it was. It was a lot of
fun being able to.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
To play that game and uh like uh again, it's
it's such a blessing to to have that be able
to look at that and in the moment again we're
we're we're both all about the team. We're doing whatever
it takes to win out here in practice, we wanna
win the day, but before and after, Uh, it's it's.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Really cool to be able to reflect on on that
and just see see how blessed we are.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
How was it Corner?

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Oh that was a that was a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Uh I I I don't remember.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I mean, I'm sure he was, you know, back in
eighth grade.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
You know, we're we're all we ready to hear traditionally,
you know, we're pretty athletic compared to the rest of
eighth grade.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
So I don't remember, to be honest, but I'm sure
it was surely just
