Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hope Plum for the review.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Good Good was able to go spend some time with family,
so that's always a blessing.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
I'm excited to be back.
Speaker 4 (00:14):
And then when you look at the schedule at the
start of the year, you're like, I can't believe my
bi week's this late. Looking back on how sort of
refreshed do you does the team feel adding to this
final sort of spread to the finish?
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Yeah, yeah, it was a great opportunity for us to
kind of reset. Like you said, it's a little refresh
moment for us. Uh, but you know, now we know
we have to you know, we have to lock back in.
It's all about this week. That's all that matters, all
we care about. You know, it's about the Saints. You know,
we have a ton of respect for them, the Vision's opponents,
so we know we have to be at our best.
But it's just, you know, just an opportunity to appreciate it,
(00:47):
come back and get back to work.
Speaker 5 (00:48):
Right, You've seen the Saints, but this is going to
be your sixth time to see them. A lot because
their divisional rival, but none no other game has had
the stakes that this one will have on Sunday, Can
you just talk about the challenges of that and facing
a team that is so familiar with you guys and
so much on the line.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Yeah, you know, at the end of the day, it's
it's just a game. You know, we know that.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
UH.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
All we can do is worry about this one. It's
the most important game of the year because the next one.
Coach says that all the time. So you know, there's
nothing we can control about the the circumstances or anything
like that. But you know, playing a division opponent, you know,
it's it's a chess match. You know, you're you're everyone's
familiar with one another. You know, you get to UH
play the adjustment game, especially with this UH being game
(01:30):
number two, UH, and that's the the beauty of division football.
So again, we have a ton of respect for them
as a UH as a team, So you know it
it's on us to you know, accept that challenge and
work to be at our best on Sunday.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
This is your first time playing really meaningful football in December.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Does it feel different. No, it feels like football. We
talk about that all the time. You know.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
It's it's we have to take things one day at
a time. You know, we don't in this league. You
don't have the l the luxury to go and try
to play hypotheticals to try to look forward. You know,
we have to focus on on this this week, on
this game. That's all that matters. So you know, it's
gonna be the same field dimensions, it's gonna be the
same goal to win by what we need.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
To do to do that. So we're we're excited for
that opportunity.
Speaker 6 (02:12):
Now, do you describe personally the atmosphere and the super
down You've played there a couple of times now, They've
got kind of a unique situation going on.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, it's a great environment.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yeah, super like you said, super super unique atmosphere, they
have a great fan base. It's fun to play in
and be a part of that. You know, that's you know,
that's that's NFL football. You know, going up against a
you know, a team like that and and the venue
that it is. We know again the challenges that brings
going into a hostile environment. So it's on us to
(02:44):
make sure throughout the week where we're working, we're communicating
clearly and putting ourselves in the best opportunity to have success.
Speaker 6 (02:51):
On Sunday, Bill been a place where you've had a
lot of success in New Orleans.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
We look forward. Again.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
I'm not someone who if I i've I've had a
good game somewhere, now I'm gonna play what you know,
I'm not a look in the in the past type
of person. It's a new game. You know, you can't
carry over the good or the bad. You have to
not especially not in this league.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
You know you have to.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
It's a week to week league. We respect our opponent,
we respect the opportunity that all. That's all that matters.
So I'm excited to be out there with this group.
Speaker 7 (03:21):
There anything prior to the season mechanically, passing wise that
you worked on and you feel like you've seen the
free to that.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Nothing, No, no big big overhaul, no big change. Uh
just just same thing I've always done, is just trying
to you know, hone it on the details. You know,
try to try to be a perfectionist when it comes
to mechanics and you know, little little things to to
focus on the off season. But uh again, you know,
I have a ton of respect and appreciation for the
(03:52):
coaching staff, for the group, for all of us, and
you know, we have to do everything we can continue
have success and to grow.
Speaker 7 (04:00):
Do you think you've made your biggest strads in year three?
Speaker 2 (04:04):
I think just overall commanded the offense again, being able
to have the second year in the system, you know,
know it a lot better know the ins and outs,
have experience in reps with with things with with players.
I think just just overall all command has been something
that you know, I think has been something to continue
to build off of.
Speaker 6 (04:22):
Like for you this year, working with a group of
nothing but first second year receivers for the most part
out there on.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
The field, it's been great, it's been awesome.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Just first off, it's I'm grateful this a group of
guys that have such a great attitude. They're always wanting
to learn, always wanted to work, wanting to challenge each
other and want to be the best version of themselves
and for us all to you know, to to grow together.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
You know, coach challenges.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Us to do this all the time, taking control and
taking ownership of the offense, and you know, just being
able to see see young guys grow develop, you know,
continue to take that ownership. It's something that's really cool
to watch and be a part of.
Speaker 6 (04:59):
He was a rookie, you had a j A Green
kind of same situation. What are the kind of things
you can learn when you're with somebody won two three
years at.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
A time and like that.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Yeah, you get the time, you get the little nuances
of routes. You know, you get to have that you
know again, you just you just have that unspoken communication
when you're able to get so many bank reps whether
we practice, you know, obviously the game reps are invaluable,
so you know, you get that extra beat, a confidence,
that extra awareness and knowing where people are going to be,
knowing what to expect, you know, knowing where people like
(05:29):
the ball, et cetera. So you know, it's it's been
great us being able to grow as the season's gone.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
On in that the first time around, the Saints were
able to kind of knock you, guys off of your
game plan. You didn't get to run the ball the
way that you wanted to. What looks defensively did they
show if you can remember a couple of weeks back,
what looks did they show that were effective against you guys?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yeah, they did a great job defensively, schematically and and
and playing playing it well as well. You know, they
gave us some heavy box is that made it hard
on the run game, and even when the boxes weren't heavy,
they have really good players on on over there in
New Orleans. You have a ton of respect for them,
so you know, we we know we have to be
at our best. Some of this stuff was you know,
it was just you know, they executed better that day
(06:13):
for us. You know, obviously we've turned the page just
hot us to grow. We have a ton of respect
for them. We know they're capable of so, uh, we're
super excited for that challenge.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
The franchise hasn't been in a long time.
Speaker 7 (06:24):
Fans are excited.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
Do you feel that from them in the community and
how do you still channel your approach to be what
it is and make sure everybody else is doing the
same time.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Yeah, definitely, I'm super grateful for the support for the
energy from everyone and in the city and the Carolina Is.
It means a lot and for me and for us,
we all understand that. Uh, you know that that is
still stuff that you know, we can't control that stuff
that's on the outside. As much as it's appreciated, you know,
we all we have is the work. You know, Coach
talks about it all the time. All we have is
(06:54):
you know, today was the only day we had in practice,
you know, meetings after this when we go over that
that's all we have. So you know, we know that
circumstantial stuff, you know, things on the outside, whatever conversations made,
that's that's out of our control. That's stuff that's you know,
been up, been down, whatever it may be. So we
put all of our focus in the process. And that's
what one of the things I really love about this.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Group this week, bigger than one of the focus is
just on the same But as a competitor, just how
much do you relish, you know, having a playoff push
to look forward to and knowing that your goals from
the beginning of the season are still on the table
and for the taking.
Speaker 7 (07:25):
Do you guys handle your business?
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah, you know, it's it's great, you know, it's a
it's a cool fact. But you know, again, we understand
what the league is like. You know, it's it's a
week tweak league, and you know we're not entitled to anything.
So you know, because of that, we're we're all bought in.
The coaches say, we all say in the locker.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Room again we we uh, we have.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
A ton of respect for our opponent. We know that
we have to do everything we can this week. And
it's easy because you know that's that's if we don't.
You know, in this league, if you try to overlook,
you look too far. You know, all that stuff is gone.
So it's not a it's not us distracting us to
us give this are are the best chances just to
focus week to week.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
So not not too hard, you guys.
Speaker 8 (08:05):
You guys have a significant a decent number of guys
with significant playoff experience on this roster. Where has a
guy like Austin or Andy been beneficial or helpful as
you guys get ready to make this playoff push?
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Yeah, just to me and Steady, you mean the same
person again, There's no there's no change in what we're doing.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
There's no change in.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
And preparation and process. You know, it's just you know,
people have been in different spots. You know, people have
may runs whatever it may be. It's just about consistency.
There's again, there's no change, there's no talk. All we
care about is this week.
Speaker 8 (08:44):
You're a pretty chill guy, but you seem extra chill today.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Is that is are you?
Speaker 5 (08:48):
Is there a level of focus that you've kind of
entered into that that might be different.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
I don't feel like it's anything different. I don't.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Yeah, I don't have Again, it's it's it's Wednesday. You know,
this is our this is our focus day, this is
the work day. So yeah, we all have this focus.
And again it's you know, we know the challenge, we're
excited for this week, for this opportunity, and you know,
it's all about putting ourselves the best place for Sunday.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
I appreciate you guys,
